Looking back this year I never meant to write 9 works (320k words in total, that's just unheard of for me), I have no idea how I did it. I just wanted to challenge myself first by actually finishing something (because even though I've written all my life, I've never actually finished anything before Fools), then by posting my own writing to others to read. It was the scariest thing. It got easier, but I still get very nervous every time. Then writing became one of my coping mechanisms, or should I say I found the love for writing again. That's why it hit me quite hard when during the second half of the year it got more difficult (reminder to self, don't try to write under immense amount of stress).

Anyway, here I am, almost one year and nine works later and I'm glad I had the courage to post. It hasn't been an easy year, but writing and posting them has been one of the highlights for me. I am just a small writer among many better ones so I'm incredibly grateful for everyone who's given my fics a chance, read them, left a comment. It's something I don't take for granted.

For next year, I will keep writing, but I need to prioritise my own well being too. I guess I'll hopefully surprise you with new stories at some point, but I can't promise anything certain. My plan is to concentrate on one or two longer fics that demand more from me and everything else is extra.

So basically this is my very long (and probably unnecessary) way of saying thank you and happy new year! Or I hope your new year will bring you contentment and peace, may you achieve everything you wish to achieve (because striving for happiness alone is overrated and not even that realistic).

#I don't know if I even need to do a lengthy post like this #I just wanted to do a little reflection on my writing year #fic writing especially rps fic writing is something I never imagined I'd do #and I kind of keep having this small battle inside my head if what I'm doing is okay #and I can't help but feeling like there's an expiry date for this hobby of mine #I keep wondering if there will be a day when I don't want or can't write more fanfics #it's something that's been on my mind since finishing AFD #(it was very close that I didn't just leave my fic writing to that work)#but #I do hope that time isn't here yet #I've only been writing fics for a bit over a year #it has brought me a lot of joy #and I'd like to keep going #if there's still people who want to read what I write #I will be here writing

PJO Fancast (5/?) → Kristofer Hivju as Hephaestus

Under the nearest hydraulic lift, which was holding a '98 Toyota Corolla, a pair of legs stuck out—the lower half of a huge man in grubby gray pants and shoes even bigger than Tyson's. One leg was in a metal brace. I guess he'd cleaned up when I saw him on Olympus, or used magic to make his form seem a little less hideous. Here in his own workshop, he apparently didn't' care how he looked. He wore a jumpsuit smeared with oil and grime. Hephaestus, was embroidered over the chest pocket. His leg creaked and clicked in its metal brace as he stood, and his left shoulder was lower than his right, so he seemed to be leaning even when he was standing up straight. His head was misshapen and bulging. He wore a permanent scowl. His beard smoked and hissed. Every once in awhile a small wildfire would erupt in his whiskers then die out.

#originally i had hephaestus as ray stevenson since in the books he has black hair and a black beard #and ray stevenson had the look to match since he played blackbeard on black sails #but editing the photos legitimately made me sad because he was one of my favorite actors and i only just learned he passed away #so i took out the part in battle of the labyrinth where it says he has a black beard and decided to use kristofer hivju instead #rest in peace ray. you brought me and so many others a lot of joy.#my edits #pjoedit #percy jackson #percy jackson and the olympians #pjo fancast #kristofer hivju #hephaestus #death mention cw
