Hiya ennnabear!! Back with another req ( ゚ 3゚)
can i ask for sum sevika x hyperfemme!reader? Could either be a fic or a list of headcannons, nsfw or sfw, i really dont mind !! >3< the prompts up to your interpertation!! Whatever u feel comftorable with!! \(^o^)/
I can just imagine Sevika, with her pastel pink, poofy-dressed eyecandy, sitting on her lap as she plays cards .. the people shes playing with all sorta eyeing reader because like what the fuck?? And reader is just like 'oh sevikas just so adorable shsjkassjksksk cutie patootie i wuv her!!!!!' while Sevika is off in the distance beating someone half to death because he touched her shoulder .. on accident ( ゚ー゚)
also, i beg of you to use inspo from that one scene in deadpool where he meets yukio. I kid you not thats where i got this requests inspo from.
"What in the fuck knuckles is this?"
(Sevika, with a literal living doll in her lap) "Shes my girlfriend you intolerant shit."
"Woah! Pump the hate breaks, fox-and-friends! Im just suprised anyone would date you! Especially pinkie pie from my little pony."
aaaaa i love this woman sososo much ( ´∀`) my 6' criminalistic murderer drug (shimmer) addict babygirl (〃_ _)
thanks in advance if u decide to write this !! sorry for the agonizingly long yap sesh (^_^;)
--🃏🌀⭐️
(and now to crawl back into my pit of lesbian shame .. (ФωФ))
HIII ANON sorry this took me so long to answer but i’m occupied with writing 2 sevika oneshots so i hope i can earn your forgiveness once they’re out 🫶 also i yapped a lil about hyperfemme!sevika here so ignore the fact that i can’t follow a request to save my life!!! 18+
ok so the way i envision sevika’s girlfriend would be a little bit… drag-ey?? i don’t really know how to explain it so allow me to elaborate…
1. we already know that femme lesbians are feminine in a way that’s different from feminine straight women (more cutesy, stylish, female gaze, etc.) but also…
2. with the way people dress in zaun (when they’re not murdering each other) and the general way they’re animated is very costumey. lots of face paint, masks, sophisticated outfits.
so i think in the arcane universe you’d probably dress something like this. painting your skin weird colors, covering yourself head to toe in body glitter, wearing expensive wigs, corsets, and heels that look impossible to move in, and stuff like that.
that means sevika would try to make sure you’re comfortable 24/7!!! especially if you’re wearing something potentially dangerous like heels that are two feet tall, she wouldn’t let you walk the whole night, instead picking you up and hauling you around.
as if the money silco pays her isn’t enough, she makes tons of money from the guys she gambles with. she spends every last PENNY on you. it’s not like she needs to spend it on herself though, her arm and her scowl are a pretty deadly weapon, and she doesn’t go all out with clothes like you do.
also i think she’d completely fold if you ever wore a low cut top or even no top when you go out with her (and she doesn’t believe in bras… so…) especially if you have piercings in/around your tits, she’d be fondling them and groping them all night!!!
she 10000000% has a thing for public sex!!!! while she’s playing cards, she’ll slide your skirt up (if it’s even long enough…), and have you ride her strap. the dumbfucks she’s playing with would gawk and stare at what’s obviously going on in her lap, but she’s about to rob them of their money, so they really shouldn’t be focusing on it.
oooh and once you finally cum, she’d be like “good girl, now give me another. okay?” and her fingers would start vibrating as you slump down next to her… of course you might get weird looks, but if anyone tries to say or do anything about it she could literally just kill them. (or maybe she’s feeling nice and will break a few of their ribs instead, who knows…)
she’d be constantly covered in some kind of your makeup. especially if you wear a crazy color lipstick like bright blue or something, her lips and cheeks and nose would be that color the whole night. and if you wear body glitter, it would look sooooo pretty on her skin. she’d be glaring at people all night like 😡😡😡😡 but her face and hands would look like ✨✨🌈🦄🩷✨✨
adding onto that, she’d look sooo pretty if she let you experiment (which is a pretty big IF), but imagine her with her hair curled, wearing pretty purple glitter on her cheeks and arms, in some sort of heeled boots that make her even taller than she needs to be, and in a dress?? in a short dress??? sevika in a short dress???? i’ll (s)cream right now…
if someone manages to corner you and talk to you about sevika, the conversation would be hilarious and very unproductive. they’d be like “why her? doesn’t she scare you?” and you’d be like “sevika? my little baby bear?? my knight in shining armor who screams at the sight of bugs??? no… she doesn’t scare me…”
meeting silco and the rest of the last drop crew would be… quite the experience. they’re all staring with wide eyes, practically shaking because of how scary she looks, and then there’s you with your hands entwined with hers, some of your bright pink face paint smudging onto her cheeks and neck as you nuzzle into her. silco’d find her alone for one moment and ask “who the hell is that?” and she’d reply with “my girlfriend. 😾 don’t mess with her.” and he’d be like “your girlfriend? your girlfriend is a barbie doll?? o…kay… congrats to both of you…”
#neeeeeed feminine sevika asap#wifey in a dress… hell yeah#sevika#sevika x reader#sevika arcane#arcane#arcane league of legends

My version of Monster High G3 (part 2)
I’m not quite sure how many more of these I want to do, because I wanna draw them all I just love Monster High. If anyone knows where I can watch the G3 show please link me up! I’m upset paramount+ doesn’t have it! 🦇🏺❄️
More in-depth descriptions under the cut!
🦇Draculaura (She/Her)🦇
I honestly love the concept of Dracualura learning to do magic in the new gen. It makes an amazing reference to old stories about Dracula, who actually did quite a bit of magic. I definitely wanted to give her a cute vampy teenager haircut, and I kept the split dye that is slightly controversial but it makes the most sense with the hairstyle I drew. I also wanted her outfit to feel more (Victorian) gothic, while also dipping toes in a bit of lolita style. Frankie, Clawdeen, and Draculaura all love to support each other’s dreams and creative expression. This has helped Dracualura be more open about her magic, and show that there is light and dark magic. Though wanting to be open about being a witch has caused her to be a bit harsh on herself. She wants people to see perfection in the things she does, and be a trailblazer for other young witches. Her friends remind her she doesn’t have to be so hard on herself.
Flags/Symbols included: Bisexual flag
🏺Cleo de Nile (She/Her)🏺
Cleo’s story in G3 is a trope that I honestly enjoy for characters who start off in a more antagonist-adjacent role. Her family is famous, but she doesn’t get as much fame as her sister because she’s not first in line for the throne, so she seeks to be popular in her own independent way. And she acts like she’s better than everyone else, but deep down is actually really accepting of others. So then she learns that it’s okay to drop the act and not focus on being popular just because of your family, and actually slows down to make close friends and not just be liked by the general crowd. Deuce is her ex, and Frankie and her definitely have romantic chemistry. Frankie has helped ground Cleo, and teaches her to take each day one at a time. Showing her that the little moments with people who love you are worth way more than the love of millions. Anyways I hope her outfit I styled isn’t too costumey. I think it works though it’s similar to her G1 styling.
Flags/Symbols included: Pansexual flag
❄️Abbey Bominable (She/Her)❄️
Abbey in G3 is very chill and charismatic. She also has an interest in snowboarding, so I decided to draw her wearing her snowboarding jacket in a more casual way along with thermal leggings and fur boots. Her hair design is based off reference images of native Nepalese hairstyles with long hair and a kind of scarf braided in. I thought is was beautiful and wanted to reference it in my art. I also gave her a Nepalese necklace which I also referenced from a photo.
Flags/Symbols included: Transgender flag, Omnisexual flag

Shippy ask: who are your greatest hero/villain rivals to ever do it in a sentai
Insane (eh, only mildly) question: what's your most common "you sort of put my kink in this show but you did it WRONG so I'm just annoyed you came so close now"
Clothing advice: any advice for coordinating stuff in the bodysuit region to look like streetwear because I've seen a few people on the wild in them looking great lately and I would enjoy secretly feeling like a starship captain
I mean have you seen Gekiranger. Have You Guys Seen Gekiranger. I know you specifically have but You, Reading This, Have You Seen Gekiranger? Tiger vs. Lion, literally feral untamed wild child raised by pandas in the forest vs elegant arrogant ambitious little princeling with a simpering girlknight at his side, purity and fury vs corruption and bitterness... You Guys... Jan and Leo (and I'm not calling him fucking Rio he's a LION the same way no one calls Mele the CHAMELEON "Mere" despite that being what dumbshit John Toei wrote in the mook) are the absolute peak of sentai hero/villain ships. Actually I would say the peak of toku hero/villain ships entirely. gaijug is just below and then like thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis far underneath those two is like, uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh actually idk, whatever KR hero/villain ship ppl have convinced themselves is peak ig. KR doesn't do very good hero/villain come to think of it. I guess it's because of all the main/secondary like how every sentai has its red/sixth (and usually red/blue too but I feel like that's not actually as common as ppl make it out to be, I think a lot of it is people just wanting an episode 1 ship)
Honestly, if my kinks show up in shows at all, they're often done perfectly bc people don't think they're sexual so don't have to pretend they're not (eg. The Stig being essentially a moto-drone like WOW) or the entire premise of the show is based around it (... like Super Sentai and Kamen Rider, even though the suits have not been as sexy as I'd like lately) lmao. I did get a bit annoyed at The Orville for giving Isaac (very sexy faceless kind of evil robot) a human appearance and emotions at first but the whole arc was his sexy milf doctor girlfriend going "ehhh actually I like you more when you're a sexy faceless kind of evil robot" which is incredibly based (as is the fact his sexy milf doctor girlfriend is The Sexy Outfit Wearer of the show a la Deanna Troi despite being a canon mother of a teenage boy and visibly middle-aged). ummm but I think all shows should have more crossdressing that isn't for jokes and more femdom or at least FLRs that aren't "bitch wife controls wimp man" coz like ew
Bodysuits are pretty easy to style casually! If you're talking more leotard style that are like a top with a crotch and no legs then a really sexy thing to do is wear low waisted bottoms so the skin on your hips is showing. Kind of like an advanced whaletail lol. Looks best if the bottoms are big baggy jeans/trackies or really slutty tiny pleated/otherwise voluminous miniskirts, I'd stay away from anything tight, small top big bottom energy yk. If you're talking about the full-body tight catsuit type, I think they're always gonna look a bit costumey, but you can still style them. Wearing a cropped/waist-length non-tight jacket over the top always looks super cool, look at 80s Rogue from X-Men! A floor-length coat would look cool too, rather than balancing the silhouette like with the baggy jeans or puffy jacket, it reduces the sex-costumey look by de-dramatising the silhouette by giving it a solid background. There's a lot of ways to play around! Bodysuits are essentially an inner layer the way tshirts and leggings used to be lol so you can honestly do whatever but I think if you want to be stylish you can't go wrong with the balancing act.

hello!! What is Jay like in your au? I apologize if you've already talked about him I haven't seen it ><
Brooo Jay is making me shiver my timbers rn 🥶
when I say, I have ideas for everyone and I do mean every character that is from the original series like I have design ideas for everybody, even dumb ass Doug. I can’t for the life of me figure out Jay.
I’ve never been able to figure out what direction I want to go with design wise. However, as a character it’s a different different story. I know what I want him to be as a character and the way he acts and behaves with others.
I want him to be more in tune with his culture, that is the culture of the origins of the story of Aladdin in the Middle East. I don’t want to stereotype and make the designs that older Disney did way back when they made the og movie because it feels very costumey not in a good way.
I wanna give it a modern spin, but I’m not really sure where to look for more authentic costume for him. Of course, this is pertaining to the way he dresses, and not to do with his facial structure or hair, as I usually just take inspiration from the actor for that look. So, in this case, he would just look like BooBoo Stewart with small changes to make him look like Jafar, but in a relative way.
 As for his personality I do have it figured out. He is very similar to how he is in the original descendants canon. He is protective and strong, If not a little dumb compared to Carlos. if you write my other post, you know that Carlos is very smart, like astronomically, smart and cunning and witty. Jay is not per se stupid, as I’ve given the role of truly dumb Himbo who bounces off of Carlos to Chad, but anybody that talks to Carlos can’t help feel a little stupid.
 Jay and Chad are still besties who game and enjoy each other‘s company, but Jay is jealous of Carlos’s relationship with Harry. Not in a romantic sense as I really want to go the Huma route, just in a way, he wishes he could be close to him so he can study him. Harry is an excellent swordsman and a master at fear/manipulation of others. a lot of the story takes place before the cast can go to Auradon so they are still trying to be their most vicious self, and no one is more vicious than Hook and his son Harry.
 Jafar ended up, moving to the aisle from his homeland after he was ousted by the Sultan. in this AU, I had to change a lot of things so that villains wouldn’t end up dead or trapped and unable to actually be on the aisle without it being this horrible thing where they were brought back to life just to be put on a prison island. I also do want people to remember that I changed major part of the story as well and what makes this a true AU is the fact that Auradon is the place that is locked up. It’s still a caste system as Auradon is still a wealthy place, it’s just locked up so that is incredibly hard for anyone that does not have a wonderful reputation and lots of money can’t get on Auradons land. It’s also critically hard to get off of the island as security is very high and measures were never put in place for any of the rich patrons of the island to get off as it is seen as Haven and no one should want to get off anyhow.
 but of course, it is literally super boring on Auradon due to all the rules about magic, and what not, as well as other more adult activities being incredibly frowned opon. That is how Hook makes his money, he found an entrance through water passages to get wealthy patrons off the aisle, and he “imports” them to their illicit activities and then bring them back. no one never tells because everyone on Auradon wants to be able to leave and they know they’ll never get the chance if they tell about somebody giving them the ability to not live a lavish lifestyle, but also do to depraved things they want. just like rich people in real life :D…
Anyways, all of this basically culminates in Hook teaching his son to be an absolute weapon which Jay wants to become. When he first came to the isle he was 12 and everybody else was also 12 and he really looked up to Harry at that time was super cool and a good swordsman. Seeing as Jafar lost everything when he was forced to leave his homeland and his high, paying job, he decided to take inspiration from Aladdin . He has his son steal items to sell in his shop, eventually becomes a really bad habit for Jay and he is a habitual thief. Or a klepto I guess you could call him.
He teaches himself sportsmanship after spying Harry, and eventually becomes friends with Mal after saving her girlfriend, Evie from Gil who actually wasn’t trying to hurt her he was just a bit confused. It was a whole thing. Carlos is the last to join the core four gang and when he does he lets slip that he is close with Harry. And seeing as Jay has always looked up, despite them being the same age, Jay was super happy to learn this, and eventually that turned into jealousy. He and Carlos are cool friends though.
 For the core fours parents and other Pre VKs I’d say their stories are about them, wanting to find a reason to be against the norms of society, and eventually finding that and seeing, it’s not all that, and they become the worst versions of themselves. And for the Descendents, I’m writing each of them to have bad traits that is shown through the first part of their story, and in the lead of the story, the part that sends them to Auradon Uni they learn how to get out of that mindset and they each break their evil habits the rest of the story concludes.
Jay’s habit is his kleptomania as well as his jealousy.
Carlos habit is looking down on others and just unethical practices regarding his fashion. Reminder guys, it’s OK to wear real fur as long as it’s ethical.
Mals habit is also looking down on others, but it’s different from Carlos who’s kind of justified, he really is smart. But Mal looks down on people for how they present themselves, as well as basing, how useful they are based on her own power set and what she thinks is truly powerful. she’s also the last to figure out herself and what she desires to actually be in life
Evie is pretty chill, but she is vain. And mostly has to deal with all the shit that comes from Mal Actually falling for Ben. They have a little breakup moment. But if she does move past this and she and Mal make up after a good amount of time separate.
 if you have any specific questions, you can always ask and I don’t have too much specifics down. It’s just a really detailed overview of what I want to write eventually.
The structure of the Fic is kind of a three book deal. The first book takes place during the events predating Rise of Red with the original timeline it follows through to the second book which loops through the first three descendants films and those characters growing, and then circles back to the third book with rise of red again but this time it’s dealing with the alternate timeline with red and Chloe. (Also I can’t write music and I don’t wanna do a juke box musical either so any music style animatics I make will be non canon)
Books:
1: Not Like The Others- the life of future villains, showing what in their young lives lead to their Vile despicable present.
2: Cruel, Hateful, Twisted and Wicked- the story of young adults growing from their family’s trauma and becoming more then the sins of their vile parents past
3: Just Like The Others- Two idiot child hood freinds go back in time and cause a whole heap of trouble that effects the present in terrifying ways

SPOILERS FOR CHAPTER FIVE OF RAINCODE(And a LARGE amount of text)
I wanted to do more Raincode furries cause they're honestly so fun and are really good practice because I'm kinda rusty in general. I only did Yuma and Makoto this time just cause it's a more manageable workload and they are some of the last ones I'm especially passionate about.
OKAY, BUCKLE UP BABY, THESE CHOICES HAVE LAYERS TO THEM. L A Y E R S
OKAY SO, at some point scrolling on tumblr I saw this post by Nadox showcasing a piece of Yuma's concept art, and in the art he was depicted with long hair. They theorized that this was what Number One originally looked like and he sheared his hair into that wimpy fresh almost bowl cut so he could pass as a trainee, AND I L O V E THAT. I herby declare it as correct on the grounds of I said so.
Going along with this idea, Yuma is a young wolf that has a lame haircut so everyone THINKS he's just a dog. I know a wolf in real life would be a lot harder to reasonably pass as a dog, so this requires a bit of anime logic tomfuckery, but I'm fine with that because Raincode already deals in its fair share of logic jank. I am simply being true to game in that regard! The way I drew him already isn't super wolf-like cause I made him all squishy looking like human Yuma, and made the veerrryyyy tips of the ears flop over because the pointy ones just didn't feel quite right. I know real wolf ears are only ever depicted as pointy but it was for the VIBE. Yeaahhh in hindsight I might have taken a few too many liberties. I suppose to make it a little more sensible you could say he's a wolfdog and not full wolf or something. Other than the logic I really like this choice because everyone would naturally assume Yuma's just a pathetic little puppy dog when his real identity is hiding in plain sight!
I went back and forth on alot of the fur aspects. How smooth is too smooth? How much of it should just look like blunt cuts? Should I even give him his human hair? Usually I don't like giving my furries human hair in general because I want them looking a lot more like animals rather than people, but for Yuma his hair is such an important part of his design that I ultimately decided to keep it on both him and Makoto.
MAKOTO IS A WOLF IN SHEEPS CLOTHING AND THAT IS SO FUN, SO SILLY, SO GOOFY, HOOOORAY(Specifically a dall sheep cause they have those big curly horns). In theory, the hardest part of choosing an animal for Yuma is that whatever his animal is needs to tie into Makoto, and also be able to be implemented in a way where their connection isn't obvious. Makoto having a mask helps of course, but if you pick a really distinctive animal for Yuma you'll have to come up with better ways to hide it. Others have gotten a lot more creative with how Makoto hides his species, but I didn't do that and went in the full direction of just giving him a disguise. Its a littlllleeeeee lazy but I'm too smitten with the idea to care. I was a little confused on what to do with the tail. I considered just chopping off the majority of it to make it look like a short little sheep tail and put the justification for it in his suuuuppper tragic past(Though I honestly don't know if homunculi can regenerate like lizards). Luckily, the pose makes it so you can't see it anyway so I don't have to grapple with the responsibly of weather or not I need to brutally amputate one of Makoto's body parts. I consider this a win.
Disregarding his actual animal, I think the sheep is also weirdly fitting because of some of their associations. When I met Makoto I wasn't sure what to make of him besides being cautiously optimistic about him not letting Yuma die(What a fool I was), and sheep/lambs/rams and animals in that ballpark can vary wildly in their depictions from literaly the devil to good little fluffy guys!
For his actual look I wanted the sheep parts to look costumey sort of. I was going for a similar effect as the blood in chapter 0, where it's very noticeable but you write off the weird things about it because it's not immediately relevant. So, the mask has fake horns attached. The hand hooves are just little caps over the paw fingers, and there are two gold and silver caps to mimic his rings and point to their artificiality. The feet are also fake and are suppose to look a little clunky like Makoto's actual shoes. His hair is also much more full looking, a little less limp; because his actual ears need some place to get tucked away. I think the main problem with this design is it'd make for a really awkward reveal, cause when he dramatically gets the mask taken off then he'd just be a canine with hooves.
For both of them I think wolf works very well in terms of their characters and their shared forte. Yuma spends most of the game struggling with needing to rely on others, and Makoto has been carrying the weight of Kanai Wards secret on his shoulders alone for like three years. They also both have the Coalescence forte, which by it's very nature requires the help of other people, and at the end of the day being with others and working together is what brings them farther then they could do alone(even if some of the themes get muddled at the end and arn't really as clear as I'd personally like I find that Kodaka's games can have some not so rock solid theming with shakey conclusions but this is what I chose to take away from it)
These aspects of their characters fit perfectly with the stereotypical idea of a strong and stoic lone wolf in contrast to real wolves being pack animals that work together to survive!
I thought I'd like Yuma's design more by a landside cause I've grown really fond of his human design, but I actually really love this version of Makoto. I guess any designs with horns or hooves just appeals to me in a way that paws don't. Still really happy with these two. They could most certainly be worse! I think they're both cute little guys though and I learned a lot about how to like, render from this so that's a bonus!

i like the new hero but he looks like a lol character
It's the hair and the big petals at the back >.>
But honestly there's always been a sort of "over the top" element to a lot of Overwatch characters' design that's kind of dropped off with a lot of the more recent heroes. I actually really like that this design kind of feels like it's getting back to the kind of costumey roots of iconic heroes like Mercy and Reaper. Are the flower petals over the top? Yeah, but Mercy has those big glowy wings too. Is the man cleavage over the top? Sure, but he's only showing about as much cleavage as Widowmaker. I'm definitely more than a little skeptical about the hair but I'm kind of hoping it turns out he's a hardcore aesthete and can give us an additional perspective on Vishkar. He also seems to have more extensive cybernetics than just his prosthetic arm, so I'm looking forward to seeing if that gets brought up in his origin story.
(You see similar lines to this on Doomfist!!)

~~~Joker: Folie à Deux Spoilers ~~~
This is hideously long, I am so sorry.
Housekeeping
I really wanted to like this Movie, I saw the first one and was sufficiently whelmed; it was certainly a movie. However when trailers came round for Joker 2 and it was starring Gaga in a musical I was hyped, she's known for her brand of choreo dancing and out-there outfits, so i thought she'd be at home in this dancing clown's world.
Furthermore Harley might patch my biggest gripe with any Joker origin story which is that they miss the point. Joker was made as a formula break. Batman, the world's greatest detective, would fight the ecoterroist, the man who loves his wife and the catburglar with facts and logic™ but the Joker was a wild card (pun intended). He was used sparingly because he had no motive other than Chaos and he was uniquely only interested in Batman, not riches or love. However for this to work he has basically no backstory, he's just the clown prince of crime, you undercut this character by weiting a backstory, and that was my biggest issue with Joker I.
The way writers have gotten around this however is by making him interesting by proxy, and they usually use Harley. We don't know much about Joker from the animated series but we do know alot about him in how he treats Harley. As such, I thought introducing her to the second movie could allow for them to remove so much focus of Arthur's backstory and inner thoughts and start building him up into the Joker of myth, filtered through Harleys eyes.
However none of this actually happened; infact so little happened I have to ask you all to watch this movie so you don't accuse me of misrepresenting this train wreck. I usually give any non-Indie project some leeway as it's easy to walk back an indie project and only waste 100 dollars vs in a multimillion project, No one wants to tell the boss you need to start from scratch and waste 10 mill, now in this case? I would've watched the final product as an executive and said scrap it all, and then fired the writers that I'd accuse of using AI. With that let's get into it.
The Good
This is gonna be meanly short but I really tried.
Makeup & costume
This was phenomenal and I don't even say that in pity to bulk the good section, I'd genuinely say this surpasses most films and shows. The costumes looked properly dulled or muddy, most looked fitted for the actors and although I'm not a historical costumer they seemed to fit? Joker firmly breaks from the current trend of fresh of the line clothes that look costumey and captures a city on the brink.
Makeup is also beautiful and this is a production for the craft to shine in, both Phoneix and Gaga are made up perfectly depending on the scene, juggling Glam, Weariness and Clown-core beautifully. I also loved the story of Gaga's clown makeup, with her slowly gaining more with each musical break from reality. However I will say I dislike they didn't go full face like Phoneix had, does feel slightly like they refused to de-feminise Gaga.
Cinematography & Sets
Also beautiful, I will preface that within the narrative your really only shuttled between a prison complex and the courtroom which is quite disappointing, however where they go hard is the musical breaks from reality, these beautiful backdrops and lighting, along with perfect use of angles is phenomenonal, my standout being the tap dancing number (I believe the song is The Joker).
My favorite shot comes early in the film and it's when the four guards are escorting Arthur in the rain and open Umbrellas in the colours of the Joker, it's on the nose but I do love that pallete and it was a cute detail.
Confirmation of POV
This is a smaller one but I was thankful they used multiple POV's. It was draining in the first one to have to second guess if something actually happened, Joker II confirms the 6 murders happened and has shots from Harley's, the guards, and other prisoners POVs, creating a more concrete version of events than it's predecessor.
Stand out performances
I will admit I have always conflated character writing and acting knowing full well that the best actors can't resuscitate a poorly written character (looking at Malekith/Christopher Eccleston) however I'm flawed so I won't comment on Gaga's or Phoneix' acting as I won't be sure what's writing and what's performance.
Kicking it of, Harry Lawtey as Harvey Dent. I feel like he really captures the character of pre-2face Harvey, a brutal prosecutor with a bit of a prideful streak. He still wants to help Gotham but he's not one to humanize villians and Lawtey's tone when he talks about Arthur envisions this perfectly.
My second pick would be Leigh Gill as Gary Puddles, I will say production does their best to cram the most jokes at a little person's expense into Gill's time on screen which im not a fan of. However when Mr Puddles breaks down over how witnessing a murder affected him; how powerless he felt and how he can't function in day to day life anymore. It really hit me, it goes in the face of the narrative spinning around Arthur, how even if he's trying to be morally neutral his actions aren't just murders in a vacuum, he hurts even those he was close with. It was an amazing scene and that was solely to Gill's performance.
The Bad
This might be ungodly long and I have to say now, this might not even be all of it.
Everyone loves Arthur
I need everyone who called Rey a Mary Sue to tell me how Arthur isn't. It is unfathomably strange how everyone in this universe believes him to be the biggest social activist since MLK. 2 years since his murder spree, where on TV he said he killed the business men for shits n' gigs and then gave a milquetoast speech on how we live in society, he still has fans, hundreds, maybe thousands. We hear before the interview his first exclusive tell all is coming soon, so assumingly he's not been talkative since. Yet he has a whole social movement, he has a movie and not just that but in the on screen scenes every character is all about Arthur.
Keep in mind that the multiple POV's make this Movie more solid that the first, knowing that the amount every character centre's Arthur is insane. Harley has no character to the extent I'm calling it Girlboss Sexism where the second Arthur lays eyes on this Jezzabel he stops taking his meds and regresses on all his progress for love. She's girlbossing because she makes the joker worse not the otherway around, however it is still Sexism because we could replace her with the 1 ring and the plot wouldn't change. I have no clue why she's so obsessed with Arthur, or why she does anything other than "I Love The Joker". Outside of singing I think she gets maybe 10 minutes of dialouge which is being generous, to call this move a dualagoist movie would be to lie.
Harley isn't the only one bending over backwards for the most uncharismatic man however. We have Ricky Meline (His prison lackey who FUCKING DIES and the cop, Arthur and the narrative forget about) we have no idea why he idolizes Arthur, actually we can include the whole prison who start kinda-riots several times in support of him.
We have the defense, Maryanne Steward, and even though it's her job to defend Arthur, the level of faith this woman shows to him is frankly dumb. Oh, also he non consensually kisses her twice, both times she's never does more than reproachfully look at him, and doesn't even consider firing him as a client.
This isn't mentioning the BOMBERS who blew up the courthouse on a vague line, the prison guard who flip-flops between getting him into music class then beating him, or the jury who cycle between distressed and sympathetic. Let's be clear this man is pathetic, he has no personality other than sometimes manic, other than that he's despondent. He should not have this much support, it feels like a power fantasy for incel school shooters.
The plot
I've gone into it above the level of distortion the plot does for Arthur but really to call it a plot would be generous. We start with Arthur in prison awaiting trial, with no Harley and we end with Arthur in prison maybe awaiting trial/execution and no Harley +stabwounds. Nothing happens. I never thought my obsessions of phoneix wright and legally blonde would have an antichrist baby called joker: folie à deux but they did and the world won't know peace. The musical numbers don't advance the plot, the entire thing is setting up a court verdict we don't hear, and the opening animation posits a question I don't think even the writers know the answer to.
In the opening animation we see Arthur the clown be replaced by Joker the clown who goes on to shoot the talk show host, we don't know if Joker also killed the 3 business men, his coworker or his mum but oh well. The movie starts and we find out the court case hinges on if Joker actually exists so they can use DID as a grounds for insanity. Let's be clear, even if Arthur has DID, in the 60s/70s he's getting the death penalty, courts don't care about mental health now, you think they did more then? Secondly even if he's doesn't you spend 5 minutes with this man and you know he's so disassociated even without medication that he's got enough grounds for an insanity case. Either way we'll never know, the opening seems pretty clear that this is DID and is seems like Joker is provoked multiple times into fronting during court, but Arthur's ukulele apology to the jury at the end seems to make the answer be he's always been fully aware, which is frankly ludicrous.
The long and short being that there are no plot threads from either the first movie or this one that are answered, open-ended or no, which for a character study movie is abysmal.
The Ending
I was actually laughing by the end, and that isn't a compliment. This started with Arthur trying to stop Lee singing, mirroring the audience's views of this sad excuse for a jukebox musical, and finished when they snuck in one last unanswered question for the finale? Why was someone visiting Arthur? Was is Lee? Why? Did she miss him? Did she want to sing at him again? Was it baby batman?
Oh yeah, there was also some random shanking Arthur. I will admit, I was surprised by how blatant an answer was given in this duology of unexplained threads of films this was. Why is the joker older than batman by loads? I think we all inferred from Arthur's billions of fans that one of them will be Joker Joker but apparently this was the one question that needed a concrete answer, we even saw how he got those scars. It was unnecessary, and honestly I would've rathered seen Arthur get the chair as a send-off. It also posses the question of if the real Joker of this universe will have the same Harley or are Gaga's days numbered? (We don't have to worry, it's tanking so hard there won't be a third one).
In conclusion, the conclusion was a perfect summation of the entire movie, that is that, Harley had no actual role, Arthur was boring yet people are obsessed with him, and we're still stuck in this fucking prison.
Rapid fire time
I don't want to expand these into full points but some further issues -
This is super harmful to the representation of mental health, I won't go fully into it because I will double this post, but as someone who has a grab bag of everything this is on the same level as split bad wise.
God's O gods why was he uncuffed for the majority of the movie.
That jury took an hour? I would've set a speedrun, also why are you letting him get closer, he might whip out a gun or worse a ringlight and a camera.
I shouldn't of watched this a month after quitting smoking, this was just a cigarette Ad.
Is that how this universe's Harvey got 2face'ed because if so that is disappointingly light.
I had to Google every side characters name because they where all so unremarkable.
Why secure Gaga and then do a jukebox musical.
They did a live broadcasted trial for the first live broadcasted TV host shooting AND DID NOTHING WITH THAT CHEKHOV'S GUN.
This was actually chekhov's military arsenal, so many things I thought they'd circle back to, like the dead lackey, the tell all, or the expose interview on prison conditions, and they went nowhere.
The opening animation was ugly I'm sorry, it wasn't even a good homage.
The musical numbers where just I feel numbers so they ground the film to a halt.
This was the first movie I've ever had to turn my phone back on just to check the runtime for.
WHY SECURE GAGA IF YOU WON'T LET HER BELT.
TL;DR
My gods this was long, I think I've thought more about this film than the writers did, my new conspiracy theory is that this was a test for AI writing of major motion films. I cannot fathom how people are defending this Movie, if you've made it this far, firstly I'm so sorry you read all that, Secondly, please let me know in detail WHY you liked this Movie. I know you exist, I've seen the reviews and comments, I want to know genuinely because to me this Movie was holistically bad, I went in with my heels set to enjoy and be the contrarian who likes it and I was swept skywards by a deluge of shit.
This film ends as it begins but with 2 hours of your life lost and a legion of your braincells lost.
Thanks for reading.
'Look at him compared to all the skaters at the roller rink in particular because I think that's the most poignant moment to demonstrate all this.'
omg youre so right, and we're totally gonna revisit will at the rink arent we? i have a feeling we will. it's gonna be torture for him, either him standing still frozen just watching el suffer - maybe vecna even taunts that will enjoyed that after the day he had - or bad memories of similar humiliation from bullies and perhaps his dad. the ol' billy and will link, bad dads and homophobic bullies.
you nailed it with why will is the quintessential 'other' character for the normal side, while el is our 'other', alien rep for the supernatural side of things. you said 'he's neat and tidy, his clothes are often tighter.' and yeah! i always thought it was cos he's wearing jon's hand me downs that don't fit, but i think youre right and it's a combo of all this stuff. will's outsiderness is - instead of wacky and wild and big like so many others like eddie for example - the fact that he pares himself back, makes himself smaller and tidier with neater edges. he basically tries to take up as little space as possible in the world, and even his clothing portrays that self-restriction with it's tightness. fantastic visual storytelling.
it also adds to the queer reading so well, and i've gotta say that your description reminded me of s1 mike too. when the show came out everyone loved dustin's cap and lucas' shearling jacket, but no one mentioned mike's dorky preppy beige jacket or his stripy green ringer tees because they just werent iconic enough to be worth mentioning. but he was my secret fashion fav!!! cos to me, mike was THE nerd of nerds for s1. the king nerd. his style only became harder and harder to read as time went on, and i hope all becomes clear in s5 as to why! the cyan windbreaker shirt of s4 is most inexplicable of all!
I'll be so sad if we don't get some really devastating flashbacks or visions that Henry uses to taunt Will, especially featuring that roller rink. It's such a good visual. You're so exposed out there, panic makes it harder to escape, he already stands out and it will be so much worse in a vision. The guilt angle, the bullying angle. And I know everyone hates Lonnie but I really want Lonnie back. We need closure even in just the acknowledgement of Will's childhood and what brought him to this point, he's been brought up in regards to Jonathan but not as much for Will. I think he should be.
the fact that he pares himself back, makes himself smaller and tidier with neater edges. he basically tries to take up as little space as possible in the world, and even his clothing portrays that self-restriction with it's tightness. fantastic visual storytelling.
YES! Just yes to this. Says it all. And Mike has always been my favorite in terms of fashion, too! Until Season 3 then I liked Will the best onwards. They both embody such great nerdy, retro style. They never seem too gimmicky where some outfits on some characters, while very in the era, do seem costumey rather than wardrobe? I don't really know what I'm talking about haha my fashion opinions are all over the place. But! Unpopular opinion: not a fan of the teal jacket from season 4, but maybe its because we're used to seeing outfit changes and I got so sick of seeing the Cali crew in the same stuff, even if it made sense in the plot. It just seemed jarring to have them all so covered up for desert scenes. I get the reasoning for Mike's outfit, showcasing color blocking and sharp angles as his theme, but it wasn't my favorite. Though, excellent hint with the triangle pocket. Which absolutely holds meaning since the jacket was said to be customized. That detail was supposed to be noticeable.
I know most of what we've seen from set photos only show the one or two outfits for everyone, but I think we've only seen stuff from the first few episodes so I'm hoping we get more outfits than that! It's so fun to compare and analyze the clothes and it really makes it feel like a lived in world and adds to character personalities.
I think he was a little flirty today 🤭
So as soon as I got to school I was finally able to check my phone when I see that my professor sent an email that class was cancelled 🙃 so I got more time to hang out with Gary :) and we brought our yearbooks today so it worked out perfectly. So he ended up bringing one of his yearbooks from middle school and he was telling us funny stories and that man looked so different especially bc he had short hair. Oh yeah but before we decided who was going first with their yearbook, I was like well I'm least important since I just started hanging out with them and he was like no you're just as important and my brother's female friend was saying the same and Gary was like you're so important it's unhinged and I was like oh okay. It was funny too bc he realized just how much older he is than me, (he's currently 4 years older ATM but after my birthday it'll be 3) especially when he realized that as soon as he left high school, I was just entering and he was like I feel really old. But it was funny bc in one of my yearbooks I pointed out how there was a new p.e. teacher that was actually young and good looking and he was like I'm assuming the teacher you had was none of that and so I pointed at the pic of my old p.e. teacher and I was like he wasn't my type and Gary pointed out 3 things about him and my brother's friend said to Gary, well you're only 2 of those things, one of them being old bc well Gary's not bald but when their friend said that in my mind I was like 😆 so some time later Gary, my brother, and his friends were geeking out over a video game and saying how they can ironically dress like the characters (in a casual way so it's not costumey) and Gary was wondering who he'd be and I pointed out my fav character and when some of their other friends joined in he was like she said I should be this character so ofc I'm thinking aw is he really taking what I said into account. Before I had to leave, he wanted to go get some lunch and he was like oh but you're about to leave and he still went and as he was leaving I said you better run and he was like well if you wanna say bye to me so badly. And when I was leaving, we did our handshake and he was like your nails are better than mine so it looks better when you do it
- 🍓
GIRLLLL HE IS SO FLIRTING WITH YOU OMG JUST KISS HIM ON THE MOUTH ALRRADYDBDJ
YOU NEED TO START FLIRTING WITH HIM BIG TIME
OR EVEN JUST LIKE TOUCHING HIS ARM BLAH BLAH BLAH YOU KNOW THE BASIC SHIT
I feel like Kate pulls off matchy matchy looks best, mainly because it’s nearly impossible to fail at it lol. Sometimes when she attempts a look of different colors, textures, etc, it clashes.
She’s a bit boring with her styles so I feel like having outfits that follow a certain theme/that have set look is more comfortable for her. Like in Scotland, she always wear tartan, brown and beige for country dressing, a headband with pumps and a long dress for more semi formal engagements, a matchy pantsuit look for a casual but ‘empowered’ look, etc. Anytime she attempts to be more bold/unpredictable with her style it looks costumey or just doesn’t work, like her Earthshot look or the James Bond premier look.
Yeah, she does do it well but sometimes she does it a little too much too often and it becomes boring. It almost feels like she does monochromatic or a lot of patterns and there's no middle. I actually loved her James Bond premiere look, it was out of the ordinary for her but she was trying to tap into the bond girl aesthetic and be more glamorous, also a little nod to Diana. She has created a uniform over the years (especially the last couple years) and it's not necessarily good or bad just predictable.
Olympic Orchids Mardi Gras
Nose: Ellen Covey
notes: orange blossom, civet, benzoin, vanilla, neroli, musk, cardamom
Mardi Gras opens as a lovely, lush, wicked white floral, with the retro glamour and ambery-animalic base of classic feminines like Narcisse Noir (1911) and My Sin (1924).
a few minutes in, Mardi Gras gets *very* big and *very* sweet, with big, blowsy, swoony orange blossom. it’s excessive, indulgent to the point of vulgarity. The sugar is still cut slightly by a hiss of pale musk, but boy oh boy is there a lot of it.
I generally prefer more animalics and dark notes, and less sweetness, in my white florals; my beloved Papillon Salome and Bogue Gardelia are more my speed.
Mardi Gras, by contrast, goes deep into the floral-syrup zone that overlaps with stuff like Lush Lust and even Mugler Alien. We are in platinum-blonde, red-lipstick land, maybe a little mussed…Courtney Love or Madonna, maybe.
About three hours in, the sweetness calms down and Mardi Gras is more wearable: a fluffy, white, floral vanilla-musk.
The texture is soft and natural throughout, never harsh.
If you *want* a sugary bombshell white floral with a touch of feather-boa fluff, you could do a lot worse than Mardi Gras. but it feels costumey and unnatural on me.
I couldn't find an official upload of the main performance, so the winner's performance starts around the 4 minute mark.
Faroese singer Reiley will represent Denmark in Eurovision with his song "Breaking My Heart."
It's a lo-fi mid tempo electronic dance track with a somewhat quirky vibe. Which makes sense, given Reiley's status as a tick-tock star. He sings about a doomed relationship, but where many a balladeer would use the theme as a sorce of pain, Reiley takes a very matter-of-fact and laid back tone with the situation. You aren't meant to feel bad for him. Just dance if you know the feeling.
The staging at MGP was a little basic. The background LED images could do with an upgrade. I found the dancers a little confusing at first because I was expecting them to be contributing to the story, given the subject matter of the song - but their movements didn't seem to match. Then I remembered that that's how tick-tock dances work and it's more of a virality campaign thing than what I was expecting when I realized there were dancers. It's a choice that will probably do what it's meant to. But with my more classical dance background, it didn't feel quite right for a moment. Once I got with the "it's just quirky" program, it was quite fun. I think the styling was done very well it had a good just-left-of-streetwear aesthetic that makes it obvious it's oerformance wear without beeing to costumey for the vibe of the song.
Can you compare Lime and Lilia’s fashion? Since Lilia has just 1 outfit, I think, you can just compare their casual outfits. :)
yes of course!! also looking at lilia's gallery she has two outfits actually.. but i'll just use lime's regular outfit because she still doesn't have too many
here are their outfits side by side!! sort of.. actually looking at them together they almost seem like a reverse color pallette of each other's?? which is interesting considering they have 0 relation or interaction in the game.. like lime's outfit has the sort of red/purple on the inside and lilia's has it on the outside if that makes sense? i hope it does
anyway, the outfits are actually quite similar even besides the similar colors they're both sort of school uniform-y.. however lilia's outfit probably is her school uniform while lime's is just in that style so that makes sense.. like they both have the popped collar + cute bow combination and also cuffs at the ends of their sleeves and you could probably switch their outfits and have a minimal difference
here's a better view of lilia's outfit! it looks like she layered a black dress over a purple shirt with a popped collar and added a red bow to it which is very stylish of her to be honest.. i could sort of see lime doing that but she'd definitely add some more accessories so their styles don't seem too different!
ignore ashe.. anyways i feel like this is worth mentioning because even though it's her regular outfit she added a cute little bunny headband! to be fair this is easter art so it could just be for the occasion but i think she'd definitely be the type of girl to wear cute accessories a lot and lime is too! so that's another similarity in their style
this is lilia's other outfit that's shown in her gallery.. it just looks like a standard japanese school uniform so i'm not quite sure what to say about it.. again it has the bow details and the sleeve cuffs which lime also wears in her regular outfit
i could definitely see lime wearing this too because i feel like she'd make this a costume somehow or something.. or just wear it normally and add some accessories
overall their styles are way more similar than i thought they were.. ive never really thought about comparing them because it seems kind of random at first but they're actually super similar! lime's is more costumey and over the top of course and she'd definitely add more accessories and stuff like that but lilia is like 11 so i don't expect her to be like a fashion icon but anyways this is a really interesting to think about anon.. if you noticed this by yourself then this is a genuinely good catch i've never thought about it,, maybe this alludes to something happening in ashe's conclusion involving lime and lilia? now that i'm looking at it their styles seem very very similar and i'm not sure if it's just a coincidence.. i could be overthinking it but it's interesting to think about especially if you consider the fact that ashe's family died in a burning house and lime also died by being burned so it could be some sort of parallel between them
#THIS WAS ACTUALLY SO COOL TO LOOK AT AND THINK ABOUT#THEIR STYLES ARE WAY MORE SIMILAR THAN I EXPECTED THEM TO BE#piper clothes#witch's heart#whnoc#wh lime#lime wh#lilia bradley#i hope im not overthinking this and its not jjst a coincidence#acci no looky
sorry if this is a dumb q but why do you think the concept isn’t right for hobi? He did say he wanted to show a darker / more raw side to his music so i didn’t expect it to look similar to past bts ‘dark’ concepts that were super polished and produced like bst or fake love etc. Hobi is more inspired by classic hip hop so i think it makes sense the vibe of his concept photos is a little different from the average kpop release but I’m curious what you think is off about it? Not talking about the weird weverse music thing / no physical album btw we all know what’s wrong with that 😫
omg no not a dumb question at all! really its just my opinion, obviously i dont actually know hoseok personally so i dont have a clue what is "him" and what isnt but. its not that i dont think it suits him or that its a darker grittier concept thats bugging me but rather just how. plain. it feels. hoseok is definetly inspired by hip hop but also by so so many artists in different genres and mediums! hoseok also has such a love for stage design and direction, and he's always been one to take risks with his sense of style. im just surprised that the concept pics look more like they were decided on by a boardroom of execs whose image of "classic hip hop" and "dark concept" means grungy warehouse set instead of by the ambitious creative that is jung hoseok. he puts a lot of thought into everything he does and yet the concept pics so far feel like an add-on. the same generic white suit styling we've been getting with bts for the last 2 years but now with a costumey jester hat like. idk but again these are just the concept pics, we may end up seeing something entirely different, or maybe its the point too! maybe this is supposed to be kind of a subversion of our expectations of him and we'll see with the mv/album. just a bit curious as to where exactly this concept is going and how much of a say hoseok actually got in the creative direction of the concept.
setting: august 4th, crowned live recordings, on camera with: @fmdduri
yena was in her element, for now most (though not all) nerves from the first round shaken. in part, that had been thanks to their rankings last round but even that had only been partially comforting, it told yena little for how this round would go. what had really bolstered her confidence had been the song calypso had chosen. hush was a banger, that wasn’t much of a secret but most importantly, it was a concept yena knew she could make look good, that she would sell well.
the ruffles of her black and red dress danced behind her as she practically skipped over to where she found duri standing on the stage. her friend had been a beacon of comfort during the first round and she was excited to bring her new-found confidence and excitement to his attention. “duri! congraluations again on the first round results! titan has been doing really well huh?” she beamed at him. stretching one gloved arm, she held it next to the jacket of his suit. “look! our concept look like the match huh?” the color schemes and vibes certainly were similiar, though yena had to admit calypso’s felt a bit more... costumey. “how are you feeling about titan’s stage? i’m so curious, especially after how well you did the first round.”
