Mfw i realize i might need to get an MRI
So like
A while ago like early 2021 and late 2022 and parts of late 2021 i got these weird like dizzy spells where like
My body goes numb starting from my lips and that's how I knew "aw shit here we go again" so i lay down because after the first time where I just went almost entirely numb before deciding 'hey maybe i should lay down maybe that'll help ' anyway i go numb starting from my lips, then the rest of my face then my finger tips start going out then my toes as it slowly creeps up and by that point I've already layed down and close my eyes because when they're open i literally can't process anything anyway, it's all fuzzy but not blurry, i can read things but can't like i imagine similar to dyslexia? Maybe? Where i can clearly see what I'm looking at but i also can't as all the colors kinda blur into eachother (i just get that occasionally but i can't remember if i got it before or after) anyway my body slowly just numbs to the point I'm just asleep now, sometimes I'll have gotten on my bed but other times I'm on my couch or under my bed (it's a loft i swear it makes more sense if uve seen my bed there's blankets down there and it's very comfortable) anyway It reminds me of migraine in the way that I'm intentionally sleeping but it feels more like I'm going unconscious if that makes sense, one moment I'm relaxed next I'm out kinda thing and anyway usually when i wake up the numbness is gone though sometimes i wake up too early and it's only like half way gone but that's workable... Anyway one time i was awake and it was around Easter and i can't remember if this was the first or second time this happened but it was early ish and anyway i was talking w my dad when suddenly my vision just kinda cuts him out
Ignore the poor editing but it kinda looked like when you fold a dollar bill to remove the face but the darkness was there but also not, like weird way like looking through a closed eye, with the other opened. And so i joke about it with my dad and his girlfriend who react more 'what the fuck are you talking about ' and i just say 'oh yea ig it's doing that' and my body goes numb i remember arguing about something then going to the living room and just bop I'm out like a light and when i wake up I'm off the couch and feel like hell but luckily not numb or anything just chalky tongue and sweaty. Anyway this happens for like a while and i assume it's just computer sickness then way after the fact i assume i might have had a seizure session for like a year 💀 where every so once in a while i just seize but like the more i think about it the more it doesn't make sense because i don't know why I'd even seize for that while but i mean I've gotten headaches and have a history of head trauma without going to the doctor or even treating it like a concussion ever. Despite having slammed my head incredibly hard... Anyway i get dizzy still but not as much numbing as much just nausea like on Halloween I almost collapsed but that could have been from pain since i sprained my ankle but i also got dizzy nausea wise again around mid November and another time around last week and I've been sick for the past 2 weeks ish (can't miss school because they said i used up my absences which... ) Anyway i might have had a bunch of seizures that still fuck w me or I've had a stroke lmao y'know normal haha funny things anyway either way I feel like i should get an MRI just to be safe
#mri#stroke#seizure#technically i have a family history of epilepsy#but i don't have consistent seizures#anyway#medical stuff#cant believe my grandma told me#dont get an mri theyll probably find something bad#lmao#it all started in 5th grade when this girl elbowed me in the head and it hurt so much i went to the nurse but they#all just assumed i was faking#because i had an argument with another girl#which#wow#then when id roll around and slam into walls#like now#and swim in 7th grade when I actually took note of head injuries#lol#anywatsss

✨Story Time✨
Hello Friends!
Today I’m going to tell you a story about friendship and young love.💕 Okay, so first lemme preface this that REGARDLESS of how people feel about their perception of me and my personality, I would describe myself as shy. So, let’s go back to little 5th grade me. 5th grade me has what I’d like to call a best friend. And when I’m saying best friend I mean, I have no clue what drew this girl to want to be my friend but she did. She was quiet and always wore a slick back pony tail. Her brown hair was straight and long and her eyes were smaller. She had really cute dimples. I remember her body being slim but wider and of course she was taller than me, not by so much though. I recall overhearing people say she reminded them of a mouse and maybe that’s why we got along well.
She and I were best friends through out 5th and 6th grade. I would stay at her house for weeks at a time, sometimes wishing I’d never have to back home. We would take trips to Las Vegas and Havasu and go rafting and to the movies and really all things that young girls do. We loved basketball and going to the mall to take pictures and things stayed that way pretty much until junior high.
In junior high I don’t believe we were as close, which I feel is designed into the system for some relief from being around the same people over and over again. Anyway, so we kind of fell out for a little bit. Then, I believe toward the end of my 9th or 10th grade year, we start to hang out again. I go to her house to stay the night one day and at this point have a boyfriend. I had been texting him a good portion of the time I had been there but it was causing an issue. I remember being in her room which had these mirrors on the closet doors. I was standing up near the bed and she was sitting on the bed facing me and now that I recall it was a much more masculine positioning. She was somewhat leaned back on an elbow and her legs dangled off the bed at the knee. She explained that she was feeling upset about my texting and then divulged that her girlfriend didn’t appreciate us hanging out because she thought my friend liked me as MORE than a friend. And I was really just trying to soak in the information when she said she did like me and kind of shot up from the bed to pull me toward her. We end up finding each other’s mouths and the heat of the moment creates this sensation of not feeling completely comfortable but wanting to see where it leads because in the moment it’s feeling alright. I open my mouth and my tongue is immediately met with a wet, warm playmate. I can feel her hands moving to my waist and my jeans. She undoes my button and pulls my pants down slightly, not to where I’m exposed but down enough that her hand slips gently into my panties and brushes her fingertips along my very wet, very timid, but also very much wanting to be touched pussy. I take a deep breath in because we’re still making out and in the time it takes to breathe in and move to exhale, she’s placed two very delicate slim fingers into me. I moan audibly and feel my head roll back and she pulls her fingers out and thrusts them into me again. She glides her other hand under my shirt, under my absolutely horrible awful for you wire bra, and cups my breast in her hand, my nipple pressing hard against her palm. At this moment I’m like holy fuck I am sensory overwhelmed and I open my eyes and see myself in the mirror.
I was loving the sensations, the pleasure of everything and when I finally caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror I felt really wrong. I was really worried about if I should tell my mom, or if this meant I’d have to tell my mom I liked girls, if this technically was cheating on my boyfriend. TBH it was a mess, so INSTEAD of assessing any of that, I pushed back and said I couldn’t do that and began to pick up my pants and I really do not think we saw each other outside of school after that. It might have been like one time after but that was it.
And you know, I don’t feel any weird way for not being able to be 100% in that moment. I think for me even though it was something that felt “wrong” at the time it was having to learn that there was nothing wrong with what i was doing but there were absolutely things so wrong with how i/she was going about it. I think regardless of the pleasure I was feeling in the moment, there was this block between she and I and I think some of it was in my hesitancy. She was not hesitant to touch me but I was very hesitant to touch her. As though not reciprocating the actions would absolve me of a harsher consequence. I didn’t enjoy feeling I was going to have to lie to my mom when she asked me how it went. I also didn’t enjoy lying to my boyfriend or confirming why her girlfriend didn’t like me. but again, i kinda just dropped it and moved on. Oh, I also never told my boyfriend it happened but to be honest I didn’t feel it counted?? Idk in my mind I was like that doesn’t count all we did was make out and she fingered me it wasn’t like I did anything back. The encounters like this really didn’t stop until a little bit later in life. maybe i’ll share those as well. ☺️

21 March 2023 Tuesday 6:45 pmpdt
I think incubus (pain upper right back thigh 6:47 pmpdt) /miñion damaged my teeth & gums more when they visited me or remotely while I slept. Right hip bone pain 6:49 pmpdt 😤🥵😤🥵😖😭 I decided to tell another 2 memories of possible reasons incubus decided to steal my ideas 💡. 4th grade? Or 5th grade, I met a girl 👧 in my class I will call NgP. She drew very well. I loved her drawings. She drew a lot (acid throat pain 6:53 pmpdt) better than me. It wasn’t the first time I met someone in my classes who drew better than me. Usually I admired other people’s drawings drawings✍️🎨 like I admired my dad’s stuff & other older kids stuff. I could have been jealous but I don’t remember. I remember wanting to do a theme/prompt as soon as I heard it & NgP I think she expressed out loud that she wanted to do it too after I already decided in my mind I wanted to do it. She was very quick to complete the assignment b4 it was due & she let me see it. After I saw 👀 it/read her book 📚 I psyched myself out that I can’t think 💭 of anything better than her idea 💡. I can’t remember how I did it. I might have returned it ?& then from my memory I sorta copied her. I’m not sure now Bcz I barely remember that part. I believe our teacher 👩🏫 noticed & told her. She confronted me about it & I acted like I didn’t know what she was talking about but I felt shame. I don’t think I did it again. After that I think I tried to be more honest with a few exceptions: I wrote a book 📖 report summary on mathilda the movie 🎥. Usually books 📖 & movies have differences & this one girl 👧 who had a tamagotchi I left on a desk after she let 7:08 pmpdt (sounded like my door 🚪 was touched 7:09 pmpdt) & then was stolen by someone, she questioned me about a parrot 🦜 & that’s how I realized that those were different. I felt bad for years that I lied 🤥 to her & the teacher 👩🏫 with my submission but if there were many differences I probably was caught, but maybe the teacher 👩🏫 passed on disciplining me until next time. In school 🏫 when I am not honest about doing homework 📚 I’m the one who gets cheated Bcz it’s me who has to have skills to do something. 7:14 pmpdt 7:15 pmpdt 7:16 pmpdt
8:02 pmpdt & the UCB mistake I wrote about some posts ago. 8:03 pmpdt
12:42 am pdt Wednesday 22 March 2023 incubus is torturing my feet 🦶 & elbows. I think 💭 I touched the kids hip with the tricycle. &. Incubus already got me back for it when I rode the razor scooter 🛴 in frisco. He probably got me back 100x worse than what that kid got. Maybe 🤔 even a billion times worse! & I (vag acid pain 12:46 am pdt) also probably prepaid for it when I flew over my bike 🚴🏼 handles when I was around ≈11 years old trying to learn to ride with out training wheels. I wrote about probably 100 posts ago. 12:48 am pdt Middle school 🏫 dances were cheap plus it bought me the opportunity to see my current crush 😻 if he chose to go which unfortunately for me? He didn’t. In high school 🏫 I only went to one prom & bought 2 high school 🏫 year books 📚 Bcz all those were expensive. I went to prom Bcz every one else in my clique was choosing to go but I think 💭 people were starting to think 💭 I was weird which probably was Bcz I hit my head a lot & I don’t think 💭 anyone realized it Bcz they didn’t see it - people in my clique. They got a hotel 🏨 room but didn’t invite me. They really wanted a younger guy in our clique to come so I think 💭 that was the only reason they told me to come. After a few dances with me (which I didn’t know how to do properly I think 💭 it probably hurt 😞 the way I did it. But he didn’t tell me & he ran away from me & danced with someone else. I don’t think I was myself that night but incubus will probably say differently. 12:57 am pdt
2:39 am pdt
incubus is hurting my feet again. 2:40 am pdt I want to paste a YouTube.com link here. 2:41 am pdt
22 March 2023 Wednesday 12:22 pmpdt I realized that prom sentence is a little misleading Bcz I did go to cheaper high school dances. 12:23 I don’t remember how many. At least 2. I think middle school dances were more fun than high school dances. 12:25 pmpdt

Georgie Cooper x Reader
Summary: To appease his worried mother, Sheldon employs the techniques of a self-help book to try and make a friend.
Warnings: None
AN: I plan to write a new chapter once a week. It may change at the end of the school year. On the other hand, I tried to add more to the story. I hope you guys like it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Y/N's Pov
I am walking to lunch, and when I round the corner, I see Mary and George looking through the lunchroom window and talking to each other. I make a confused face while listening in on their conversation. "Look at him. It breaks my heart," Mary says sadly. "Poor little guy. Sitting all alone", George says sadly while responding to Mary's comment. "I don't know why his brother or even Y/N can't sit with him. Actually, Where is Y/N. I don't see her anywhere."
"I'm right here," I say, spooking Mary and George before continuing with, "Also, I tried to sit with Sheldon on his first day, and he said it would be best for me to sit with people who have the same intellect as me. I found that rude because he meant Georgie, and I am so much smarter than Georgie. Anyways, Georgie doesn't sit with him because he says In school, they don't know each other". I look between Georgie and Sheldon, then look at my godparents. "Yeah, come on Mary, when you were in high school would you have lunch with a nine-year-old," George asked Mary. "Yes, I would have," Mary responded. "Well, there is something wrong with you." I took George's words as a sign to leave.
"Well, I'm... gonna... go," I told the married couple before heading into the lunchroom to sit with Georgie and our friends. I sat down to Georgie, trying to fit as many grapes as he can into his mouth. "Fourteen," he yelled out while all of Georgie's friends cheered him on. Georgie spits them all out before turning to me. "What did you think," Georgie asked me, trying to get my opinion on his 'cool' trick. "Georgie, if I wanted to see you stuff your mouth, I would just wait till dinner. In other words, not that interesting," I told my best friend. Georgie replied with a sad "oh" before going back to talking with his friends. I went back to finishing my newest sketch of a finch.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Georgie and I walked into the house. "Georgie, would you do me a tiny little favor," Mary asked Georgie while he was getting a drink out of the fridge. I sat with the girl I thought of as a little sister before saying hi. Georgie responded back with a "like what" before Mary asked Georgie to sit with Sheldon. I already told Mary why I don't sit with Sheldon. Missy with her smart remarks told Georgie, "Don't do it. I ate with him in second grade, it really hurt my social life." Georgie walked off while replying to Mary with a "No thanks". I kicked Missy under the table, then gave her a 'seriously' look. I shook my head and followed Georgie to 'help' him with his homework, which was more like do his work.
I don't follow Georgie because I'm his lost puppy. I follow Georgie to help him. Without me, Georgie would grow up to be a homeless man with great hair. I am basically Georgie's Guardian angel.
"Georgie, why do I always end up doing your homework? At this point, I don't even think you know how to read. Those magazines are just for show, and you know it. You probably only look at the pictures," I said to Georgie while sitting on his bed doing our geometry homework. "Aw, come on Y/N, don't you know that you're the smartest out of both of us. Without you, I would probably still be in the 5th grade. You were right about something though, those books are for looking, but I can read you." I roll my eyes at Georgie's comment before looking down and smiling.
I admit I might have a bit of a crush on Georgie but we're best friends, and how could I ever compare those girls in his magazine. If I tell Georgie that I like him, that could ruin our friendship, and that would be weird because we live together. So, I just stick to being his best friend. That way our friendship isn't ruined and I can still be as close to him as I can.
"Well I finished your homework and it's 10 o'clock, so I guess this is it. Have a good night," I said before heading out.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Georgie's POV
Y/N walked out of my room. I felt sad because she was gone. We talk all day, she does my homework, and we have practiced together, but I still miss her. "Maybe I like her," I mumble to myself while laying down staring at the ceiling. "Naw, that can't be," I said. I shut off my light and fell asleep.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Y/N's POV
I was leaving my art class when I see Sheldon talking to one of the cheerleaders. It's weird to be seeing Sheldon interacting with people without them running off and crying. It interested me so much I decided to listen in.
"Go wolves," Sheldon said in a monotone voice. Jessica closed her locker confused. Sheldon responded back to Jessica with, "You're a cheerleader, and by saying "Go Wolves" I'm initiating a conversation about something that interests you." "Oh, are you one of those special ed kids," Jessica asked still trying to understand what was happening. The older sister part of me kinda felt angry that she said that, but on the other hand she was talking to Sheldon. "My mom says I'm special. Would you like to be friends" Sheldon asks. She tells him, no, but Sheldon keeps going, "Are you sure? What if I told you I admired your boldly-applied makeup?" Jessica walks off offended.
I walk up to Sheldon frantically and say, "Sheldon, you can't say mean things like that. I'm at the top of the pyramid today, and Jessica is right underneath me." "Oh, I didn't know what I said was offensive. I thought that I was complimenting her," Sheldon says. "Well, just try not to insult people. If you don't know what to say, don't say anything to them." Sheldon replies with an "alright" before walking away from me. I watch Sheldon go before heading to my next class.
I got to my next class and I sat down beside Georgie. "I just ran into Sheldon trying to make friends," I told Georgie while I get the stuff I need for class out of my backpack. "I feel bad for whoever had to put up with Sheldon. That boy is not one for making friends," Georgie responds to my comment. "Well, I think it's cute, but I feel bad because he didn't make one friend." "You sound like my mom," Georgie says. I glare at Georgie. The teacher walks in and starts the class.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I hear Mary yelling about how Sheldon made a friend. I felt happy for him. I feel like Sheldon would really benefit from having a friend. I mean, I have Georgie, and we're inseparable.
I also heard Sheldon ask if he can start his rocketry hobby again with his new friend and I dipped. The last time he launched a rocket he killed a family of squirrels and my eyebrows. I wanted to bond with Sheldon so I helped him with his rocket.
I went downstairs to watch tv with Missy. She was watching DuckTales. "I'm surprised you're not with Georgie," Missy comments as I sit down with her. I roll my eyes and say, "Georgie isn't my whole life. I talked to Sheldon earlier, and now I just want to hang out with you. Sheldon has a new friend now, I have Georgie, but I feel like you don't have anyone to hang out with. So, what do you say tomorrow I take you to get your nails done." Missy's eyes go wide and she excitedly shouts, "Yes, I'm gonna go tell mom!"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After school, Missy and I went to get our nails done.
(Missy's Nails)
(Y/N's Nails)
When Missy and I got home Mary told us that Sheldon's friend was coming over. Missy and I sat down to talk and watch tv. There was a knock at the door, and that set Mary off. "He's here," she yelled. "Everybody, stay calm! Just a normal day, just a normal dinner," she continued. Missy asks if she and I can eat in front of the TV, which obviously didn't end well.
We're all sitting at the dinner table, except for Mary, when George starts asking Tam, questions. George makes it weird when he asked Tam if his mom was named Kim-lee. Me and Georgie look at each other with a cringed look.
Georgie releases us from the weird vibes when he asks Tam, "So, Vietnam, like in Rambo." Tam responds with a "yes" and then Georgie continues with, "That's a cool movie." Georgie asks Tam if he's in Rambo and I look at him and elbow him in the ribs. Georgie says, "oww, what was that for" before Tam tells him "no". Sheldon brings the conversation back to George's comment, but it is cut off by Mary serving dinner.
We learned a lot about Tam's family and life. It was very interesting. Georgie said a couple more stupid things, which earned him a few more elbows to the ribs.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I was in my room, getting ready for bed. Georgie walks in and sits on my bed.
(Y/N's Room)
(Y/N's PJ's)
"How was the day with my sister," Georgie asks me. I sign for Georgie to get off the bed and say, "We had fun. After our nails, we went to Dairy Queen and got a blizzard. I think Missy and I really needed today, you know." Georgie helps me make my bed and continues the conversation, "I missed you today." "Is Georgie Cooper jealous? Georgie Cooper didn't have someone to do his homework and now he's sad," I said mocking Georgie. Georgie grows a sad look on his face and says, "No, I missed my best friend. Not the girl that does my homework, or the girl that helps me clean my room. I miss the girl I talk to for hours. The girl that makes me feel special compared to the rest of my family. I miss that girl and that girl is you."
"Wow, that was deep for a kid that went a couple of hours without seeing me, but I know how you feel. Missy and Sheldon don't know how to do the things we do. I almost made Missy cry by insulting her earlier. I think I hang around boys too much," I say getting ready to lay down. Georgie climbs into the bed with me and we silently talk for the rest of the night.

Can u pls write something like dark!reader x steve rogers high school AU , where R is rich spoil brat & she always had a crush on steve but she always bully him by calling him skinny and all and Then yrs later, time changes her family discarded her from will and she becomes poor and need job, got hired for PA by dark ceo!steve rogers who she bullied her all school lifee😈😈
okay this is a lot for a headcanon but I don’t have time to do a whole oneshot BUT I also really like it so we’re gonna just make a longass headcanon here we gooooo
warnings for heavy dub con, choking, slapping, degradation (by steve), bullying (by the reader), abortion mention, brief mention of/implied assault.
“heyo pipsqueak” you called out to get steve’s attention, laughing when he frowned. “looks like you grew a whole inch over summer, be sure to have your mom draw a line in pencil on the doorframe.”
he just rolled his eyes and got back to chatting with his friend. not friends, friend, cause he only had one: bucky, who snarled at you as well.
“pick on someone your own size, if you can find somebody with as big a head as you,” bucky shot back, making you scoff.
“you know, it’s a shame you hang out with this deformed freak, you could’ve been popular. you’ve got the looks for it.”
“I’d rather keep my brains, thanks,” bucky explained as you walked away with your posse of fellow popular kids.
you didn’t used to be so mean to steve. it was sort of a comedy of errors, really. you two had been friends in elementary school-- you, him, and bucky were the rambunctious trio up until middle school.
things change for boys and girls in middle school. guys just get along with each other and don’t think about it much. girls, though... girls need to be sharp. it’s eat or be eaten. and you wanted to eat.
you were lucky that you developed early. it meant that girls respected you and boys feared you-- not just for your attractive features but for the fact that you loomed a foot over most of them.
you started to take advantage of it. and by the time you realized you had feelings for your best friend steve, it was already too late-- he was at the bottom of the food chain and you were at the top.
you told your new girl friends that you wanted to take steve to the sadie hawkins. they laughed at you. for a moment, you felt what it was like to be outcast and you never wanted to feel it again. so, you told steve and bucky that you’d grown apart. and you were happy to just be former friends...
it was steve that started it. he called you out. he told you that you were nothing like who he used to know-- you had become vapid and cold and narcissistic.
“you’re so busy worrying about what other people think, you never take the time to think for yourself.” that was what he said. and it fucking hurt.
“saw you talking to your boyfriend steve the dweeb,” your friend tanya announced at lunch just a few minutes after that conversation. and you were angry, and hurt, and truly friendless despite being surrounded by other popular girls. so you said some things you could never take back.
“steve? as if. did you know he still sleeps with a security blanket? and he has his friend bucky fight for him every week cause if he took a punch he’d crumble to dust?”
and so, mortal enemies were formed. it only got worse in high school, as you fought to secure your title at the top while steve and bucky’s presence filled your heart with guilt and your gut with anger.
if only you’d known how quickly you could fall from your high horse.
it started when you dated tanya’s ex, brock. she was made so she spread a rumor that you would fuck any guy on the football team, even all of them at once.
apparently, a lot of people believed it since tanya had been your sidekick since 6th grade.
two football players believed it. and when you wouldn’t follow through on it, you got yourself a black eye.
that meant you missed school for a week because you couldn’t possibly show up looking like that. tanya told everyone it was because you got grounded and sent away to church camp after your parents caught you in bed with one of the neighbors. so now your reputation was ‘sleeps with football players and old men.’
only brock had been there for you.... but it turned out he had motives of his own. you had originally planned to wait until college, but brock was clearly wanting something in return for putting up with dating pariah #1... so you let him take your virginity.
the condom broke. when you dashed to the trash can to hurl in the middle of history class, you knew something was wrong. (and lost that many more social points in the process.)
brock dumped you the second he found out you were pregnant. didn’t even help you pay for the abortion. he got back together with tanya and told her the real reason for your ‘medical absence’. and that was the last straw for the former homecoming queen.
the humiliation drove you to some.... poor choices, for the next few years. you tried not to think about them now, but it was hard not to when their consequences were staring you right in the face: no money, no job, nearly homeless, and desperate.
over a hundred job applications later, only one had called you back and scheduled an interview. and you only needed one.
so there you were, waiting in the chilly lobby area while the receptionist typed away and chomped her gum, tapping your toes and glancing out the window occasionally.
you were surprised when you had been told your interview would be on the 51st floor. you sort of assumed it would just be some random manager interviewing you, not somebody important enough to have a waiting room like this, or a view like this.
when a man stepped out from the nearby hallway, your eyes went wide. he was tall, and handsome, and obviously muscular underneath the exquisite suit. you suddenly felt underdressed in your hand-me-down business clothes.
then he called your name. and you realized he was going to interview you.
you stood up and nodded. “you can follow me to my office,” he instructed with a smile, leading you down the hall to the corner office. you were in awe of the grandiosity of it all. you were dumbfounded when you saw CEO on the door.
“there must have been a mistake,” you explained as he shut the door behind you. “I... I’m just interviewing for an entry-level position.”
“no, there’s no mistake,” he shook his head, “I have you exactly where I want you. take a seat.”
he circled his desk and sat on the other side of it, resting his elbows on the desk and giving you an oddly smug smile. an awkward silence was finally broken when he realized, “you must not remember me.”
“I... have we met?”
“I don’t blame you, I look pretty different,” he shrugged. “I must’ve grown a whole inch this summer.”
you gave him a confused look before realization dawned on you, along with shame, and fear.
“oh... oh my god, Steve?!” you squawked. he just grinned. “you look... you look...”
“taller?”
sexy.
“you look great!” you said aloud instead.
“yeah,” he agreed, “wish I could say the same for you.”
you swallowed dryly. “so that’s what you want,” you sighed, “to get back at me. I understand. I deserve it...”
“I don’t want revenge,” he denied. “I’m just sorry to see you haven’t been... thriving, since high school. your job history--” he scanned your resume briefly-- “well, you don’t have one. have you been slumming it all this time?”
“without my parents’ money? yeah,” you admitted.
“surprised you applied here, instead of turning tricks on 5th and Columbus.”
your back straightened and your eyes went wide at that comment.
“I mean, you’re already dressed for it,” he smirked.
you stood up and crossed your arms. “if you’re just going to insult me, then I’ll leave now. I’m sorry for everything I did to you, steve,” you announced, voice shaky with oncoming tears.
“can you really afford to leave?” he pressed. “if you have a chance at a job?”
that, unfortunately, got your attention. “you... you might actually offer me something?”
“I will offer you something,” he corrected, “if you just sit down and listen.”
you relented, returning to your seat. you could stand a lot more insults if there was money on the line.
“to be honest, there’s no way I can hire you for the position you applied for,” he sighed. “you’re just underqualified. but I think I can create a position for you.”
you liked the sound of that. “what kind of position?”
“well, that’s tricky, seeing as you don’t have any skills,” he frowned, “except one. so that’s the one I plan on using.”
the look in his eyes made it all too clear what he was referring to, but as you shrunk into the leather chair he went ahead and clarified.
“I’ll pay you whatever salary you saw in the ad. but you won’t be doing data analysis or office management or anything like that. all you’ll be doing is spreading your legs for me whenever I fucking want.”
fear shot up your spine; his eyes were devouring you, pinning you to the chair, and you tried to process that. “I--”
“before you say anything,” he interrupted immediately, “let’s just be perfectly clear that this might be your only shot at a real job. what I’m offering has better pay than stripping, and better benefits than hooking. and unless you have any education or experience I don’t know about, you’re totally fucked.”
“seems like I’m fucked either way,” you mumbled, making him laugh.
“see, you’ve still got that sharp tongue,” he grinned. “can’t wait to put it to better use.”
maybe it was just desperation for cash. maybe it was because he was good-looking and you could do a lot worse. maybe it was because, on some level, you felt like you deserved his punishment after how horribly you’d treated him.
“I’ll do it,” you sighed. “when do I start?”
he stood up and reached across the desk to grab your neck, glaring at you. “right now.”
his free hand was already fumbling with his belt, the one on your throat guiding you downwards. “on your knees,” he instructed, and you slipped out of the chair and onto the floor.
he let go of your neck and you figured he was going to come to you, but instead he stood still and demanded: “crawl.”
debasing as it was, you crawled on your knees to his side of the desk, and he laughed at you bitterly. when you reached his feet and popped back up, you gasped at the sight of his hard cock right in front of your face. it was bigger than your face. and it was dripping precum.
“don’t get so bug-eyed, you can handle it,” he grinned. “if your mouth’s as big as I remember...”
you didn’t want to hear any more. you just wanted to get this over with, so you quickly took his head between your lips and started to suck. you were shocked when he slapped you, hard enough to knock his length from your mouth and to make you reach up and clutch your stinging cheek.
“fucking whore,” he grimaced, “did I say you could put it in your mouth? god, you’re so fucking desperate. just open your fucking mouth and I’ll show you what I want, okay?”
you nodded and stammered an apology, looking up at him with watery eyes and an open mouth. he swiped the latest drop of precum on your tongue before gliding his cock over it, grabbing your hair to keep you steady as he pushed himself to the back of your throat.
“fuck, that’s better,” he sighed. “so much better when you just do what you’re told. I remember how you used to be so cruel with this mouth. now you’re being so welcoming...”
you just sat there and let him use your mouth, trying not to gag when he hit your throat.
“look up at me,” he instructed, “yeah, that’s it. can’t have you forgetting who’s doing this to you, now can we?”
that went on for a bit longer until mascara-stained tears streaked your face, which he seemed rather proud of.
“damn, wouldn’t mind having you swallow my come right now,” he admitted, “but I have bigger plans. get up, bend over my desk.”
you coughed briefly when he pulled out, but did as you were told. he instantly yanked your skirt up over your ass and spanked you several times roughly, making you sob and whine.
“wanna see this ass all bruised up in the shape of my hand,” he explained. “so we can both remember how hard I fucked you.”
he tore your panties like they were paper, chuckling when he found you already wet.
“dripping already, just from choking on my cock? poor baby...”
you spread your legs slightly, though you were sure nothing was going to adequately prepare you for his size.
“you figured out how to use birth control since graduating, right?” he asked, and you nodded quickly. “good. cause I’m not using a condom,” he continued as he let his cock glide over your folds, groaning slightly, “and there’s no way in hell I’m pulling out.”
he pushed forward in one brutal stroke, making you cry out loudly. you really hoped these rooms were mostly soundproof.
“shit, you’re tight,” he hissed, already pulling back and thrusting back in. “clearly you recovered from your years of slutting it up in high school.”
“that-- that wasn’t true,” you defended.
“oh, just shut up,” he growled.
he fucked you fast and deep, his hips pushing yours into the edge of his desk with each thrust. his hands pinned you down at your shoulders, another reminder that you were entirely at his mercy.
“fuck, this is just what you needed... somebody to put you in your place. makes sense that it should be me, since you hated me so much.”
“I didn’t h-hate you,” you hiccuped.
“yeah, you wanted me, didn’t you?”
“always,” you admitted.
“wanted my fat fuckin’ cock to tear up your pussy? is that it?”
“yes,” you moaned, “yes, steve, wanted to be yours.”
“even when I was skinny and short?”
“even when you hated me,” you added.
he growled slightly and you felt your walls tighten around him suddenly. he chuckled, clearly aware that you were enjoying this.
“you want more, baby? want me to fuck you harder?”
“whatever you want,” you answered instead. “just use me however you want.”
he moaned and leaned down to cage your body in with his. “fuck, baby... you’re taking this better than I thought you would. such a good girl for me, huh? such a good little slut. want me to use you, baby? take all my anger out on you?”
“yes,” you whispered, sobbing when he began to fuck you more brutally than you thought possible. but it felt good. so good that your legs were shaking, so good that you felt even better when he tugged your hair.
“yeah, gonna come on my cock, aren’t you?”
you nodded and bit your lip.
“m’ close too,” he admitted, “you’re gonna be so full of my come, it’s gonna be dripping down your legs when you walk out of here...”
your orgasm made your body shake and your eyes roll back.
“fuck, I can feel you coming,” he groaned, “fuck, just like that-- fuck!”
you felt his warmth fill you as his cock flexed against your walls. you were busy trying to catch your breath when he slumped down on top of you and pushed the air from your lungs.
“damn... didn’t think I was gonna come that fast,” he sighed. “see what you do to me? fuck, I knew this was a good idea.”
sure, it felt good, but you were sure he was only going to get rougher and meaner the longer this went on. you couldn’t imagine how you were going to get out of here without somebody noticing your wrinkled clothes, messed-up hair and, as he’d pointed out himself, come all over your thighs.
“guess I’ll see you at 8am tomorrow, huh?” he chuckled, giving you an unexpected peck on the cheek. you couldn’t answer, though, interrupted by the phone on his desk ringing. “oh, sorry, gotta get this.”
he reached for the phone and picked it up, bringing to his ear all without pulling out of you or even lifting his body from on top of yours.
“bucky, hey,” steve grinned as he spoke into the phone, looking down at you and stroking your hair, “you’re not gonna believe who I ran into today...”

5 Times Dick Grayson tried to kiss you and the 1 time he did
Pairing: Dick Grayson as Robin x Reader
Warnings: Mentions of death and injuries.
Word Count: 3.3K
Summary: The 5 times that Dick Grayson tried to kiss you and the one time that he did.
One
“How do you do the 17th one?” You asked, not even looking up from your notebook. The two of you were tackling your math homework together,
Some might call it cheating but you liked to call it teamwork. Afterall you were a team, and what was the difference between a few supervillains and integrals?
Realizing that he wasn’t answering your question, you looked up only to see him staring intently at you. You blushed, immediately feeling self-conscious and you looked away from his intense gaze.
“Um, Dick?” You spoke quietly, not wanting to cut through the comfortable atmosphere. And most importantly you didn’t want to scare him because you knew he was trigger-happy.
The boy in question was in a trance, not speaking a word, it was difficult to tell if he was even blinking. Something comical in you wanted to shake your hand in front of his face to see if his eyes would shake back and forth like a cartoon character.
The thought made you chuckle and it brought him out of his trance.
“Did you change your lip balm?” He asked curiously and you froze, stumped at the question.
“What?”
“The colour looks different.” He answered like that would explain it but you didn’t know what surprised you more, the fact that he noticed that you changed lip balms, or the fact that he was being so blatant about it.
Something in you felt self-conscious about the fact that he was staring at you lips and so in a moment of insecurity, you pursed them, looking away before regaining your composure.
“Do you just stare at my lips all the time, Grayson?” You teased, hoping to gain some control and his face coloured, “Not all the time.”
“And to answer your question, yes.”
You’ll never know how badly Dick Grayson wanted to kiss you at that moment. How badly he wanted to hold you in his arms and just kiss you until he felt dizzy.
And you’ll never know what it took for him to sit back down and turn back to his worksheet.
***
Two
You couldn’t help the groan the escaped your mouth as soon as you opened your eyes. Your head was pounding and your mouth was dry, like you had swallowed a mouthful of sand.
You couldn’t feel anything, not until you were pulled up from the ground, numbly lolling against the person who was making you sit upright.
“Easy there.” The boy soothed, rubbing your back and your eyes felt heavier the more you tried to open them.
“Robin?” You croaked out, burying yourself closer to him.
“Yeah, and as much as I like this, we can’t stay here for long.” He told, trying to pull you upright but you kept slumping.
“(S/H/N) come on, if we stay here any longer, we’ll be in danger.”
You tried shaking the dizziness, “Okay, okay, pull me up.”
You were immediately on your feet, relying on Robin to keep yourself upright until the spots in your vision cleared. It took you a second but he kept through your side the entire time, rubbing your back and supporting your weight.
Once you were able to focus, you looked around, realizing you couldn’t recognize your location, “Where are we?”
“Bialya. 6 months later.” He replied, beginning to lead you away, keeping a hold on your arm until you stopped swaying. You most likely had either a concussion or a heat stroke.
“What?”
“I don’t know what’s going on either but we’re gonna find out.” He sounded resolute and you nodded, finding some strength to keep pace beside him.
“You okay?”
“Yeah, I just needed a few minutes. As soon as we get home, I’m gonna sleep for days.”
“You know in some countries it’s called a coma.” He teased and you chuckled, allowing him to increase the pace slightly as you fell into step beside him.
“Any reason you haven’t called someone yet?”
“Batman said to maintain radio silence at all times.” He replied but you could tell her was confused about it. The two of you were headed towards a location that he felt had been important enough to be marked on his GPS.
The sun soon stopped beating down on your heads and before long it was nightfall, but you were still walking towards this unknown destination. It was silent, but not awkward, unlike most of the times you spent with Robin which was not awkward, but definitely not silent.
Eventually the exhaustion began to creep up on you again and you started swaying in your steps again, “Rob, I’m sleepy.”
He sighed, pulling you closer, “I know you are; we just have to finish this mission and then we can go home.”
You held on to him, allowing him to lead the way as your eyes closed on their own.
“(S/H/N) you can’t sleep.”
“I’m not sleeping, just, resting my eyes.”
“Okay then keep talking to me.”
So, you did.
You mindlessly rambled on as he guided you through the desert. You talked about your teachers, food, music, anything that came to mind.
“You know I’ve never kissed anyone before?” You murmured and he froze for no longer than a second before he was walking again.
“I’d like to, but I haven’t. But I’d like to.” You spoke again, not noticing the way Robin seemed to stiffen as you kept talking, “But I haven’t, cuz I wanna kiss a guy I like. I’ve heard it’s more special that way.”
“What about me?”
“What about you?”
“What if I kissed you?”
“Well, um, well, I don’t know, I think I would really like it.” You said absentmindedly and a small smile grew on your face at the thought of kissing Robin. Unbeknownst to you, Robin was smiling beside you.
Robin knew that he was taking advantage of the state you were in to get answers and some part of him did feel guilty, but that didn’t stop his heart from soaring when he heard your answer. Though he maintained a cool front, truth was on the inside he was screaming.
He stopped, in the middle of the desert, underneath the moonlight and he wanted to kiss you. And you probably would have enjoyed it.
But your mouth, your stupid mouth, instead spoke up, “But it shouldn’t be right now. No, cuz I haven’t showered, and my lips are probably really dry cuz I’m thirsty. And I don’t want you to think I have gross lips.”
He chuckled, pulling you close to him and walking with you again, “No, we wouldn’t want that.”
***
Three
“You’re getting better, (S/H/N).” Commented Robin as you continued to spar in the training room. It was obvious that he was taking it easy on you because your pace was slower that he was used to.
And because you knew for a fact that if he was actually putting any effort then you would be on the ground in two seconds flat.
“Really? Does that mean you’re actually gonna start trying now?” You quipped, enjoying that this seemed more like a dance than sparring.
He laughed, “Not just yet. You need a little more practice.”
You swung at him and he dodged effortlessly, grabbing your arm and jabbing you in the elbow. The two of you continued to move around, dodging each other’s attacks and flowing comfortably around the training room.
This is usually how it would go until Robin got bored and floored you or you lost interest and just walked off the mat while Robin complained about you being a sore loser. He was right. You knew he was better than you at combat, but it didn’t mean you enjoyed getting beat up by him.
Even if he never actually hit you.
Even though the two of you were fighting with a quick pace, you couldn’t help but feel relaxed. Robin had that effect on you, you always felt safe around him.
Even though the boy before you was incredibly annoying, you couldn’t help but find a fondness in spending time with him. You liked him sure, but you weren’t completely sure if it was platonic or romantic as of yet.
Still, you spent most of your time with him on the team since he was the same age as you. It was one of the many things you had in common.
“After training do you want to get something to eat?” You panted, narrowly dodging a kick and you managed to grab his leg, applying a force at his knee before flipping him. He managed to land on his feet (not that you were surprised) and swung at you again.
“What do you wanna eat?” He asked with a normal voice and you narrowed your eyes at him. You had been sparing for 15 minutes now and he hadn’t even broken a sweat. You, on the other hand, could use a shower.
“Your pick.” You told him and he grinned. A blinding grin that would’ve taken your breath if you hadn’t already been wheezing like an old lady.
“Let’s get going then.” He said and you froze knowing what would come next. Robin took advantage of the moment you let your guard down and the next thing you knew, you were staring up at him from your place on the floor.
He was laughing at you, but you couldn’t hear it over the pounding of blood in your ears.
It took him a while to realize that you weren’t laughing with hm before he glanced down at you and his heart skipped a beat.
Man, you were beautiful.
Your lips were wet from constantly licking them, hair splayed out beneath you and an attractive flush was creeping up your neck. You thought you looked like a panting hippo but in his eyes, he had never seen anyone more beautiful.
There was an attraction between you, so powerful and magnetic that neither of you could resist and he leaned closer as your chest heaved. His hands rested on either side of your head and yours were gripping onto his arms.
His lips didn’t so much as brush against your when the door of the training room slammed open and in came the rest of the team. The two of you jumped from each other, almost like the electricity from before managed to shock you.
You mumbled something about hitting the showers before you practically ran out, groaning in embarrassment when you heard the team titter like 5th grade girls.
“I want pizza!” Robin called out as you ducked into the locker room, deciding that a cold shower might be the perfect remedy for your skin that still felt like it was on fire.

Four
It wasn’t surprising to any of you that M’gann would choose one of the most overrated, cheesy movies there was for movie night. Well, movie morning, since last night the team was called on an important mission.
Now while you had no problem just shutting your mouth and enjoying a romance movie once in a while, you were also stuck between a bunch of boys who made it their mission to make sure you wouldn’t.
So, every five minutes they took to shouting, hollering, groaning about why this wouldn’t make any sense in real life.
You tried throwing pillows at them, turning the volume up, even kicking them off the sofa but nothing helped.
‘If you can’t beat them, join them.’
“This guy is such a wuss.” You commented and Wally high-fived you for joining the team while M’gann complained about you betraying them. The movie was about a man who for some reason refused to go after a girl who very obviously liked him and he very obviously liked.
She flirted with him, and they even went on dates sometimes but when she asked him about having an actual relationship he said no and then proceeded to get upset that she was hanging out with other people.
Red flag much?
You found yourself watching the movie with an intent you hadn’t before, wondering if you’d have to go through that. If you’d ever be denied the love of someone who loved you because of his own pride or ignorance.
“If he likes her then he should just tell her.” You murmured wistfully, watching the two characters on the screen and not noticing the way the boys looked at you. Truth be told, you hadn’t even realized you were speaking.
“He should tell her, huh?” Asked Wally and you could tell from the teasing tone in your voice that he was trying to make a joke but you answered him honestly, not taking your eyes off the screen even once.
“Yeah, in my opinion the story will only get good once he stops beating around the bush and kisses her.”
Ignoring the way, the guys snickered at your answer you just slouched in your seat, rolling your eyes to the ceiling, “But the guy is such a wuss it’ll probably happen in the last 10 minutes so what’s the point.”
You didn’t pay attention to the rest of the movie, losing interest as the character continued to get more and more stupid. Instead, you opted for playing games on Robin’s wrist computer.
After the movie was over, everyone started to retire to their own rooms. You were eating some leftover pizza and took to cleaning the mess the rest of the team left behind. It was, after all, your turn on the chore list.
“You were right, you know.”
You jumped, dropping whatever it was in your hands. Robin winced at the bigger mess that you made before kneeling down and helping you clean it up.
“You’re so jumpy, one couldn’t even imagine that you go on covert missions every other night.” He teased, dodging the handful of popcorn you threw at him.
“You bother me enough on those missions alone don’t you think? Any reason that you’ve come to annoy me now? Or was it just to give me a heart attack?”
“You were right.” He said softly, throwing away the empty bottles of Gatorade and coke.
“I’m right about a lot of things Robin. You’re gonna have to be more specific.”
He grasped your wrist, stopping you from grabbing the stack of empty pizza boxes and you turned to him, the quip dying on your tongue from his serious expression.
He leaned close enough for you to see the reflection of yourself in his sunglasses. The proximity between the two of you was electrifying and addicting.
“The story will only get good when the guy stops beating around the bush and kisses the girl.”
You swallowed, hands settling on his and you let him pull you closer.
“Team to gather in the training room immediately.”
You sighed, pulling away from him, “Mood ruined.”
“Batman has the worst timing.” He grumbled and you giggled, grabbing his hand.
“Maybe next time, Boy Wonder.”
***
Five
“It’s gonna be okay. It’s gonna be okay.” Robin chanted over and over again to you but you knew what was going to happen. His voice cracking and the tears flowing down his face was a good indicator as well.
You bit your lip so hard it bled, grunting when you tried to move. It hurt. It hurt a blinding, searing, burning pain that made your vision turn blurry and the edges of your vision turn white.
“I can’t move.” You whispered tearfully and he shook his head, tightening his hold on you. His grip hurt but you still let him cling onto you for you knew it would be the last time he could.
The pain wouldn’t last long.
“We can carry you.”
“You don’t have the strength,” You told him softly, cupping his cheek to make him look at you. Blood was dripping down the side of your face and tears were streaming down your cheeks, “Even if you did, it hurts too much to move, Robin. You have to leave me here.”
He shook his head stubbornly and against his control sobs began slipping past his lips and your heart clenched to hear him sound so heartbroken. But then again you felt the same way. He held onto you tighter and you caught a glimpse of the timer on his wrist.
There wasn’t much left.
“You have to go.” You told him again, “You are all that Earth has left. You have to go.”
“I can’t leave you.”
Your body was wracking with sobs and you raised a bloody hand to his cheek, wiping away his tears to no avail, “I love you, please forgive me.”
You turned to Kid Flash who was watching the two of you. He was crying as well; his chest was shaking and wavering and you tried to give him a brave smile but a sob broke through you.
“Take him away from here.”
Wally grabbed Robin and he struggled in his grip, trying to get to you, crying for you. He managed to push Wally’s arms off him to make a break for you. To tell you he loved you too. To kiss you for the first and last time. To say goodbye.
But just as he reached you, Kid Flash grabbed him and super-sped away, all while Robin was crying in his arms. He saw your body receding, trapped against the wall where the guards had pierced you with an energy spear.
The last thing he saw was your tearful smile and he thought you were the bravest to be smiling through so much pain.
In the end, neither Kid Flash nor Robin made it out alive.
The mothership exploded before either of them could escape.

One
Explosions felt a lot colder than you expected.
All you felt was a cold breeze after the explosives went off and your eyes shot open, gasping for air. You recognized the ceiling of the cave and felt the cold sweat drip down your body. You didn’t know how or why but you knew one thing.
You had lived.
Tears immediately sprang to your eyes and you couldn’t even pull yourself to sit upright before you started crying. Black Canary was at your side, pulling you into her arms as you sobbed, thanking whatever divine being that had been listening for helping you.
You were alive.
Your eyes screwed tightly shut as you just held onto her, feeling such overwhelming happiness that it felt heart-breaking.
When you finally got the courage to open your eyes and see where you were, you saw your team staring back at you with concern on their faces. You knew then that you’d never take advantage of them again. You’d never take them for granted and you’d cherish them from now onwards.
And then your teary eyes caught onto Robins figure who was the only one who had left the bed that they woke up in. Your chest just hurt at the sight of him, regretting the way you had sent him off but also knowing that there was no other way.
So, you shakily pushed off Canary’s grip and on wobbling legs you stumbled towards him, slumping against his weak stance before grabbing his collar and slanting your lips on his.
Finally.
He responded almost immediately, wrapping his arms around your waist and pulling you closer. The kiss was sweet, but salty as your tears mixed on your lips.
Your heart was full when you pulled away from him, leaning on his shoulder. His arms stayed around you, needing to feel you breathing against him. You met eyes with Wally’s wet ones and he sent you a shaky smirk, “Took you long enough.”
You giggled tearfully, as Dick buried his head closer to your neck, and rubbing his back comfortingly, “The story was getting boring.”

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Finally, the last day of sophomore year. The Losers burst through the front entrance of Derry High School and headed towards the trash cans, like usual, to dump the contents of their school bags into the garbage. Y/N, the only other girl loser besides Bev, joined them as she had done since the 5th grade.
------
Y/N had been brought to the group by Stan, the shyest but most friendly loser. The others had been suspicious of her at first, but she soon proved herself worthy of being a loser when she stood up to the Bowers Gang, who were making fun of the others.
Richie instantly liked Y/N. With her fiery personality and sarcastic humor that in ways rivaled his, how couldn’t he? They grew close fast, soon becoming best friends. They did everything together: homework, skating, they even killed Pennywise together when they were only 12.
But in the 8th grade, he started pushing her away and blowing off plans with her, he never even told her why. They were obviously in the same friend group, so he couldn’t ignore her forever, so he went for the second best option: being a dick.
Now Y/N had very thick skin, but when he started hating her all of a sudden, she started to become very insecure and upset over him. Alas, she wasn’t about to let a man talk to her like that and not do anything. Eddie was the only one who knew how Y/N truly felt about how Richie treated her, having confided in him early on. But in the eyes of the other losers, Y/N didn’t give a shit what he said about her.
------
“Dude, why does she have to tag along for everything?” Richie groaned when he saw Y/N approach. “I don’t know, maybe cause these are my friends too? An odd concept to you, I know, since you think the world revolves around you.” She shot back and turned to the rest of the group. “What are you all doing tomorrow?” She asked. “I-I don’t know yet. I was thinking we sh-s-should go down to the quarry if everyone else is c-cool with that.” Bill said, still stuttering but only slightly, as he was growing out of it as he got older.
The rest of the group agreed, including Richie, (surprising, considering he never agreed to anything if you did), and you made a plan to meet at the quarry with food at noon for a losers-only picnic. Y/N bid goodbye to her friends and walked back home.
------
“Bye, mom!” Y/N headed out of her house, backpack over her shoulder and bike in tow, to meet her friends at the quarry. As she neared the end of her street, she hopped on her bike and started riding down the sidewalk. “Yo Y/N, wait up!” She looked back to see Mike riding towards her, a couple of the others trailing behind.
Mike, Ben, Stan, and Y/N all lived in the same area of Derry, while Bill, Beverly, Eddie, and Richie lived on the exact opposite side. Going anywhere usually meant each half of the group gathering and then meeting halfway. Speaking of the others...
------
“I still don’t understand why we can’t do anything without Y/N. She always makes everything so boring!” Richie complained as he walked to the quarry with the other 3 losers in his half. “Dude, you were just fine and dandy with her until the end of middle school when you started acting like she’s worthless!” Eddie argued back.
“Look, I don’t know what the fuck has gotten into you, but you need to learn to at least deal with her, got it? She’s our friend and no matter what reason, you need to tolerate her because we love her.” Eddie gestured to Bill and Beverly who nodded, and then to Y/N and the other 3 losers approaching, who were all laughing at some dumb joke she said. I do too, he thought.
Richie’s heart skipped a beat and butterflies erupted in his stomach as he looked at you. Fuck, why does this always happen?! He suppressed the urge to hug you (why the fuck did he want to hug you for no reason?!) as he greeted the other three losers with a smile and wave. When she saw him smile, it was her turn to get butterflies in her stomach, as per usual. But forget it, she thinks. He hates you.
Y/N stripped down to her bathing suit and waited for the others to do the same. Richie subtly checked her out as he pulled his shirt off and turned to talk to Eddie and Bill. His muscles became more toned since last year, so Y/N was surprised when she saw him. She not-so-subtly checked him out as well. “Take a picture, it’ll last longer!” Richie calls behind him. “Could say the same to you, Tozier. I saw that, earlier!” Richie’s face flushed and he turned to Eddie again. That whole ‘jumping in the water with only undergarments on’ thing ended in 7th grade when everyone hit puberty, it just wasn’t going to work anymore (and for obvious reasons).
Before anyone could battle her, she ran towards the edge of the cliff and jumped off. Her body hit the cold water and it felt amazing compared to the sweltering summer heat. She swam out of the way for the boys to follow and unsurprisingly, Richie was next. He was always the daredevil of the group. This was followed by Beverly, then Bill, Ben, Stan, and then Mike and Eddie at the same time.
After they all ate lunch, Y/N sat on the little shore on the edge of the water. She soon heard her name being called. “Y/N!! We’re playing chicken, get over here!” Beverly yelled. Y/N swam over and hoisted herself onto Bill’s shoulders. Beverly got onto Mike’s shoulders and the game started. Richie sat next to Stanley as he watched the game from the rocks. “You like her, don’t you?” Stan said gently. “What?! Of course not? Why would you even think that...” Richie wasn’t convincing him. “Whatever you say, my friend.” Stan said and patted him on the shoulder. Richie rolled his eyes and turned back to the game.
Y/N defeated Beverly for the second time and raised her arms in victory. That’s kinda cute, Richie thought. And he didn’t even second guess or correct himself this time. “We play the winner!” Stan yelled towards Bill and Y/N. “We do?” Richie whispered to him. “Yep, we do.” Stan replied and swam towards them. Richie soon followed suit.
“Okay Richie, get on Stan’s shoulders. Whoever wins the most rounds out of 3 wins.” While Bill explained the game and all the rules, Y/N looked at Bev on the rocks. Bev gave her a wink and a thumbs up, whatever that was supposed to mean.
The game began and she tried her hardest to push Richie off of Stan’s shoulders. “Damn Stan, you got grip!” She laughed and Richie laughed too. Why was he being so friendly all of a sudden? She decided to talk to him about it later, she was having fun and she didn’t want to ruin it.
Richie finally got her off of Bill’s shoulders and she tumbled into the water. She came back up and started laughing along with everyone else. “Y/N, we should clean that up real quick.” Eddie said and pointed to her elbow, which was scratched up. “Oh okay, that’s fine.” She said. “It must have happened when I was fighting Bev because it looks like it already started to heal up. I didn’t notice it at all.” She laughed and went up to the rocks to clean the small wound.
She grabbed the rubbing alcohol from Eddie’s backpack and started pouring some on the edge of a spare towel she brought. “Well, this is gonna hurt.” She said and hissed as she placed it on her elbow. She felt a hand rubbing her back and leaned her back onto the person’s chest, thinking it was Stanley, only to realize as she was reaching for the Neosporin and a bandaid that it was Richie. Since the other losers were maybe 10 feet away, she thought now would be a great time to confront him.
“What’s with you being all chill with me now? I thought you hated me.” She said and Richie sucked in a sharp breath. “Eddie talked to me earlier as about you. He said that I should ‘at least put up with you’ because you were part of the Losers Club and you deserve to be treated with respect because you’re their- our! Our friend.” He explained. Her heart sunk as she thought she realized what he meant.
“Oh, so you’re just being nice to me because you have to be?” She asked, dissapointed. “No no no!! Not at all, I’m genuinely sorry. To be honest... I don’t know why I was such a dick to you. I’m so sorry, Y/N. I should’ve had a mature conversation with you on why I was feeling so insecure and shit instead of ghosting you. Not only did it fuck up our friendship, but it fucked up any chances I had of being with you, as more than friends.” Wait, what did he just say?
“It wasn’t cool and I feel so stupid knowing that I-” “Just shut up.” Y/N cut him off and placed her lips on his. He got over the shock fast, brought his hand up to hold her face, and kissed back. Their moment was cut short by Beverly. “Yeah Tozier, get some!!” She yelled and Y/N giggled as they pulled away and stood up. Richie laughed and flipped her off.
“I know I’m not off scot-free, but does this mean you’ll at least give me a chance?” Richie asks hesitantly as they walk towards the other losers. Y/N put a finger to her chin and pretended to think. “Hmmm... okay. But only one. And we’ll be discussing boundaries and all that jazz tonight when I sneak you through my window and you stay the night.” She says with a serious tone and Richie nodded. He picked her up and spun her around. “Thank youuuuuuuu!” He sets her down and kisses her forehead, his lips lingering there for a moment. “Ewwww, do we have to deal with all your gross PDA now?” Ben and Mike say in sync and all the losers laugh. It’s not perfect, she thinks, but it’s pretty fucking close.

Word Count: 8K+

-----------------------------------------------------
10 years may not seem like a long time from some perspectives, but when you're 15 and you've known your soulmate for more than a full decade, it's an epic feeling.
You and Kim "Elizabeth" Taehyung were attached at the hip ever since you met in kindergarten, and the two of you ran into a little trouble when his family had to move away the summer before you started high school. Luckily, you’d been able to convince both your parents and his that he should come visit for a week during the summer. A year may not sound like a long time, but it felt like a lifetime to you and Taehyung.
Once he arrived, you dragged him out of the house as soon as he dropped his bags on your bedroom floor. The week wasn’t going to last forever, and you had a lot of catching up to do. You were both walking around downtown looking for something to do and trying to make the best of this short time you had together.
"We should go to the beach," you exclaimed. "We haven’t gone in forever."
"Beach?" Taehyung replied. "Really? Sand and saltwater? That's how you want me to spend my time here?"
"I want fun in the sun, Tae-bear," you whined. "Let's go out and do something, yeah?"
Taehyung pondered your request and made a big show of propping up tilting his head and holding his chin up. Once his gaze landed on your pouty lips, he grinned and pulled you into his arms.
"Ugh, why are you so freaking adorable, babe?" Taehyung cooed. "I can't resist you when your lips get all pouty and your forehead creases up like that."
“Stop picking on me,” you pouted. “It’s summertime and there is no school. We can finally go and do stuff without worrying about any of our usual responsibilities.”
“Ok, ok,” Taehyung relented. “What can we do that doesn’t involve sand or saltwater?”
“Well, I want something outdoorsy,” you explained. “I want to become one with nature.”
Taehyung rolled his eyes at you and his smile settled into a sweet rectangular shape. Lately, you were obsessed with nature and animals and plants and flowers because you were reading Henry David Thoreau’s Walden and Taehyung just knew you were determined to follow Thoreau’s philosophical teachings of getting back to the simple pleasures of nature.
“Why don’t we go camping?” Taehyung offered. “There’s that awesome clearing near your house. We always said we were going to camp out there, but we never did.”
“Yeah, let’s do that!” you heartily agreed. “Want to go shopping for gear? I just got all that money for my birthday.”
“Absolutely!” Taehyung grinned. “Let’s go spend that bread, baby.”
Taehyung grabbed your hand and pulled you in the direction of the nearest sporting goods store and you started compiling a collection of camping gear for your upcoming adventure. Once you arrived home, your parents just blinked in confusion as you and Taehyung hauled several shopping bags and a large tent up the stairs to your room.
------------------------------
Once you’d organized everything into a corner of your room, you collapsed onto the bed and Taehyung joined you. You turned your body toward his and he tucked you into his chest by wrapping his arm around you. You played with the frayed patches on his shirt as he hummed a random tune.
“It feels so nice to be in your room again, ttalgi” Taehyung admitted. “There’s just something comforting about it.”
“Oh yeah?” you giggled. “Do all my collectibles and books lull you into a safe space?”
“Something like that,” Taehyung sighed. “You know, I thought all girls’ rooms would be the same, but yours is something different and I love it.”
“Just how many girls’ rooms have you seen, Tae-bear?” you probed. “You certainly never mentioned anything like that to me. Are you hiding things from your soulmate?”
“What? No!” Taehyung blurted out defensively. “Not really.”
You pushed off of Taehyung’s chest and narrowed your eyes at him. He couldn’t look you directly in the eye and you knew something was up.
“Ok, Elizabeth,” you spat. “Out with it. Why were you in another girl’s room and why didn’t I know about this? I thought we told each other everything.”
“We do, it’s just…” Taehyung trailed off. “It’s just something that happened before I came to see you and I didn’t know how to tell you.”
You gawked at the flush of pink spreading across his cheeks and you sat up, crossing your legs and bracing yourself against the headboard.
“What is it, Tae?” you prompted. “You know you can tell me anything.”
Taehyung sat up and mirrored your sitting position. He fiddled with his thumbs for a moment before taking a deep breath and exhaling loudly.
“Do you remember our last phone conversation?” Taehyung began. “The one after your Spring Break?”
“Yeah,” you said. “I told you about that asshole Jason who tried to force himself on me at the beach bonfire and how I broke his nose. Why?”
“Well, I didn’t break anyone’s nose,” Taehyung continued. “But something happened.”
“With who?” you demanded. “Was it with the girl you were talking to? What’s her name again? Madelyn?”
“Sadly, no,” Taehyung groaned. “Madelyn is 100% pure lesbian and she made that blatantly clear at our End of the Year Band Banquet. But I was a little bummed when she turned me down and her friend Ayla tried to cheer me up.”
“Cheer you up how, exactly?” you inquired venomously. “What did she do, Elizabeth?”
“She snuck me into her bedroom,” Taehyung admitted sheepishly. “Her parents were having a party in the backyard, so no one noticed. I only stayed for an hour.”
“A lot can happen in an hour, Taehyung,” you shot back. “Did you have sex with her?!”
“No, I promise,” Taehyung exclaimed. “No sex, just some hand stuff. It was my first time doing anything like that, so I was afraid to go any further.”
You sank into a deeply troubled pout at his words. Taehyung reached for your hand, but you pulled your hand back into your lap. Taehyung looked up to see tears brimming in your eyes.
“Please don’t cry,” he pleaded. “It didn’t mean anything, babe-”
“It’s not that,” you interrupted. “As long as we’re sharing, I have something I haven’t told you either.”
Taehyung’s frown deepened and he allowed you to collect your thoughts. Each passing second, he prayed that your tears would recede. He hated making you cry.
“I wasn’t completely honest about the incident with Jason,” you blurted out. “I wanted him to touch me, but he wanted more than I was willing to give. I only broke his nose because he was getting too aggressive, but I did consent initially. It wasn’t a random attack.”
“He still deserved to get hit,” Taehyung grunted. “No means no. Everybody should know that.”
“I know, Tae,” you sniffled as the floodgates opened on your face. “I just feel like I lied to you. I know we promised to always be each other’s first for everything, but I couldn’t help it.”
“Hey, hey,” Taehyung cooed while pulling you into his lap. “It’s ok, babe. It doesn’t matter. I think we can both admit that making that promise in the 5th grade was kinda stupid. I mean, we’re teenagers and we’re half drunk on hormones. Shit happens, right?”
“So you don’t hate me?” you mumbled into his neck. “We’re ok?”
“Of course,” Taehyung chuckled. “We’re always ok, my beautiful soulmate, no matter what happens.”
You wrapped your arms around his neck and leaned your forehead against his cheek. You had been worried about telling him the truth about Jason for months, but he seemed to take the whole thing pretty well. You could hear your mother calling the two of you down for dinner and you jumped off Taehyung’s lap to open the door to respond. Taehyung’s eyes were harboring hints of disappointment, but they quickly dissipated before you turned around to face him.
“Shall we head down?” you asked him. “I think she made Korean fried chicken.”
Taehyung stepped forward and offered his bent elbow to you.
“Well then, grab a wing,” he jested.
You rolled your eyes at his terrible joke, but still giggled as the two of you walked downstairs together.
-----------------------------------
“Tae-bear,” you called from your backyard. “Are you coming or not? We’re losing daylight.”
Taehyung bounded out the back door with a large ice chest and your mother waved as he joined you.
“Be careful, you two,” she smiled. “We aren’t too far away if you need anything.”
After she disappeared back inside, you gave Taehyung a questioning look and gestured at the ice chest.
“What?” he grinned. “She wanted to make sure we had enough snacks.”
You rolled your eyes and grabbed the handle of the fully stocked wagon. Without a word, you turned toward the wooded area behind your house and started walking away from his smug expression.
Ugh, why are you like this, Mom?
Once the two of you reached the clearing, you both started setting up the tent and organizing all of your supplies. Taehyung set up the lanterns around the campsite and started up the small BBQ pit your father had pulled out of the garage. It wasn’t enough to BBQ anything bigger than hot dog wieners or hamburgers, but it would make a great firepit for the two of you.
As you were arranging your snacks on the folding table, you opened the ice chest and gaped at the homemade sandwiches, bowl of pasta salad, and veggie and fruit trays inside.
Seriously, Mom? You never do stuff like this for me!
You spent the rest of the day snacking, exploring the woods, and playing games. You relished the purity of the woods and took a moment to absorb the peace and quiet and magic of nature. Taehyung trailed behind you picking up stray feathers, pebbles, leaves, and pinecones.
When you returned to the campsite, Taehyung decorated the ring around the BBQ pit with his treasures, and you sighed at how amazing and artistic your soulmate could be. The boy was an artist through and through, and part of you wondered whether anyone would be able to appreciate how incredible he was.
“Ready for dinner, ttalgi,” Taehyung called out after placing one last pinecone in his creation. “I’m thinking we should start the fire, roast some hot dogs and maybe some marshmallows? I bought stuff for S’Mores.”
“That sounds good, Tae-bear,” you agreed. “I’ll start the fire since I’m the Girl Scout. You get the food ready for roasting.”
“Hey,” pouted Taehyung. “I wanted to be a Boy Scout. I just couldn’t fit it into my schedule.”
“I know, baby,” you cooed while pinching his cheek. “My Tae-bear was too busy with his art and music lessons to be a Boy Scout.”
You kissed his pouty lips until they morphed into a cute little rectangle shape, and he giggled when you refused to accept his surrender. You continued to assault him with your lips while he pretended that your kisses were fatal. You both crumpled into a heap near the tent and your playful kisses started progressing into a heated makeout session. Soon, you were straddling Taehyung’s lap and slowly grinding your hips back and forth.
“Mmmm, you’re such a tease, ttalgi,” Taehyung chuckled. “Are you always this eager?”
“Just for you, Tae,” you murmured against his lips. “Your kisses make me crazy.”
Taehyung cupped your cheeks and smiled sweetly at your words. He knew you meant them, but there was still something gnawing at the back of his mind that wouldn’t go away.
It won’t always be me. There will be others.
Before the stray negative thought could coalesce, Taehyung pressed one last kiss on your forehead and patted your butt.
“Come on, babe,” Taehyung purred. “Food first, play later.”
You flashed him your signature Cheshire Cat grin and got off his lap to help him off the ground. Once you were both vertical, you began preparing things for dinner. Several hot dogs and S’Mores later, you both settled into your folding chairs and watched the cooking fire burn out slowly.
With twilight enveloping the campsite, the two of you snuggled closer together and just watched the small fire flicker against the imposing darkness around you. Only one lantern was left on inside the tent, and the rest of the campsite was enveloped in the coolness of the night. The sky was clear and full of twinkling stars and you released an exhale of pure joy.
“Penny for your thoughts, Tae-bear,” you murmured cutely.
He snapped out of whatever thought had possessed him and gave you a tight smile.
“It’s nothing,” he replied. “Just thinking about our conversation yesterday.”
You sat up in your chair and bit your lip nervously. You and Taehyung shared many firsts since your first kiss, but there had always been a hope deep in your heart that he would be the one to whom you would give your virginity. You were both already giving in to your growing sexual desires and it was a natural thing given your age. The hormones were weighing heavily on your brain, and it was difficult to differentiate that from what your heart desired.
The more you thought about it, the more you realized that this whole fantasy loss of virginity thing was just a childish notion. Real life wasn’t like that, not even close. In real life, you were just a girl who was attracted to all kinds of people, including Taehyung. In real life, Taehyung was just a boy who sometimes let his dick do the thinking for him, and that wasn’t his fault.
You’d played out the fictional scenario in your mind over and over again and the elements of the fantasy were just unrealistic. There was no way you could afford a fancy hotel suite with a massive tub and flower petals and bubbles surrounding your naked bodies while you entwined your hearts and souls together.
Real life is never like that.
As much as you wanted to wait until that fantasy could become a reality, you had to face facts and so did Taehyung. It was time to move forward, consequences be damned.
“Tae, listen,” you began. “I know we said we would wait until we were both ready, but I don’t think that’s realistic anymore.”
“What do you mean?” Taehyung gasped. “You don’t think I can wait?”
“It’s not that,” you sighed while looking down at your clasped hands. “I know you can wait. I would never question that.”
“Then what is it?” Taehyung probed. “Do you not want to wait for me anymore?”
“No,” you admitted. “I don’t.”
Taehyung inhaled shakily and you could see the hurt blossoming in his eyes. Before the first tear could fall, you quickly got up and kneeled in front of your crumbling soulmate.
“Tae-bear,” you cooed while cupping his cheeks between your hands. “I don’t want to wait because I want to do this now...with you.”
Taehyung’s breath stopped and his glazed eyes raked over your own. He could see the resolve in your pupils as they dilated and he felt a twitch in his cargo pants.
No, not yet…
Taehyung pulled you into his lap and wrapped his arms around your waist. The torrent of desire building at his center was kept a bay as he confirmed your proposal.
“Ttalgi,” he murmured against your cheek. “Are you sure this is what you want? I don’t want you to do anything that you might regret later.”
“Why would I regret this?” you asked. “This is you and me we’re talking about. I know we’re still young, but I don’t want to wander through the rest of high school worrying about who might or might not get into our pants first. I know I talk a big game, Tae, but let’s be honest. I’m dumb as hell when I’m attracted to someone, and so are you. I just want to make sure that I remember this as something momentous and not regret that it happened. I want to remember it as special. Who’s more special than my soulmate?”
Damn. She played the soulmate card.
Taehyung sagged back against the backing of the chair and tried to rub the broiling lust out of his eyes. Unfortunately, you saw the motion and thought it was linked to rejection and you quickly got up from his lap.
“Look, Tae,” you pouted. “If you don’t want to do this, that’s fine. I just thought that maybe we could share this experience together, just like we do with everything else.”
Taehyung groaned at your pouty face and hopped up from the chair to pull you back into his arms. You tried to resist, but you were no match for the bear hug Taehyung pulled you into. You burrowed your reddened face into his soft chest and whimpered, which pulled at Taehyung’s last heartstring. He really tried to convince himself that this was too soon, but the more he thought about it, the more he realized that you were right.
You always were.
There was no telling what could happen over the next few years, especially since you no longer lived in the same town or went to the same school. You were miles and miles apart from one another and that distance was affecting your relationship, whether you both wanted to admit it or not.
How can I say no to my soulmate?
Taehyung reached up and pulled the scrunchie out of your hair and hummed at the silken tresses that cascaded across your shoulders. He slid his fingers into the luscious waves and leaned in to kiss your forehead. The scent of green apples assaulted his nostrils and he moaned quietly at the intoxicating scent of your shampoo.
“Why do you always smell so good?” Taehyung breathed out. “I swear whenever I smell something fruity, I think of you, ttalgi.”
“It’s apple scented, not strawberry, Tae,” you giggled. “Remember, I’m the apple of my parents’ eyes? That’s why my middle name is Eris, the bearer of the golden apple and Greek goddess of chaos and discord.”
“Enough mythology, babe,” Taehyung chuckled. “If we’re really going to do this, let’s get more comfortable.”
Taehyung pulled you in the direction of the tent and you both removed your shoes before getting inside. The stacks of blankets and sleeping bags made for a comfortable bed, and Taehyung was thoughtful enough to bring extra pillows for added comfort. You reached over and turned down the lantern to a dim glow as Taehyung zipped the tent shut. He shuffled back next to you and you both cuddled up in the middle of your makeshift bed.
“Hello, beautiful,” Taehyung smiled brightly. “Fancy seeing you here.”
You rolled your eyes, but you couldn’t stop the grin spreading across your lips. You took in the boyish features on Taehyung’s face and your breath caught when you saw him lick his lips. Taehyung’s eyes locked with your own and the sexual tension inside the tent escalated quickly.
He may look like a boy, but he certainly doesn’t act like one.
Encouraged by the hungry look in his eyes, you decided to break the tension by pressing your lips against his. What started out as a simple touching of lips quickly transfigured into a messy tangle of lips and teeth. You each tried to devour the other, and within a few moments, you found yourself straddling Taehyung’s hips and grinding your clothed center along his growing erection.
“Fuck, babe, slow down,” Taehyung whimpered. “If you keep doing that, I’m going to cum in my pants.”
“Can’t stop,” you mewled desperately. “Feels too good.”
You increased the friction along your clit and Taehyung gripped your hips in an attempt to slow your ministrations. When he realized that you were on a mission, he did some quick thinking and rolled you over onto your back. Before you could protest the change in position, you felt his fingers dipping into your shorts in search of your throbbing core.
“Oh my gods, yes, Tae,” you moaned. “Please touch me.”
“Holy shit, babe,” Taehyung exclaimed. “You’re so fucking wet. Is this all for me?”
“Mmm hmm,” you hummed while bucking your hips against his exploring fingers. “All for you.”
“Then I better not let it go to waste,” Taehyung mused while shifting onto his knees. “Mind if I take these off?”
Taehyung’s other hand was tugging lightly on the band of your shorts and underwear, and you quickly lifted your hips so he could slide them down your legs. He tossed them into the corner of the tent and made space for himself between your legs. You tried to slow your labored breaths, but watching Taehyung hover over your glistening folds with a hungry look in his eyes was absolutely breathtaking.
“Babe, can I go down on you?” Taehyung asked sweetly. “I’ve never tried it before, and your scent is driving me crazy. I need to know what you taste like.”
You nearly lost all of the breath in your lungs at Taehyung’s words, and all you could do was nod dumbly and spread your legs even wider. The sight of your dripping center was unbelievably enticing and Taehyung carefully lowered himself closer to get a better look. After inhaling the musky scent, Taehyung growled softly and gave your clit a tentative kitten lick.
“Fuck,” you squeaked. “That feels so weird.”
“Good weird or bad weird?” Taehyung asked. “I can stop if you want.”
“Good weird,” you confirmed. “Definitely good weird. Please don’t stop.”
“Ok, because I really don’t want to,” Taehyung admitted. “You taste incredible. Like it’s sweet but also not. I can’t really explain it, but I know I want more of it.”
“Then what are you waiting for, Tae-bear?” you giggled. “Get to work.”
Taehyung wiggled his eyebrows at you and leaned in to kiss your nether lips. You gasped when you felt his tongue sneak forward and start lapping up the essence gathered around your center. You tried your best to writhe with each delicious pass of his tongue over your aching clit, but he was cleverly holding you in place with his upper body and giving you no room to escape.
“Ah, Tae,” you moaned. “That feels amazing.”
“Mmmmm,” Taehyung hummed against your clit, causing you to squeak. “Does it really, babe? Are you going to cum for me?”
“I don’t know,” you breathed out. “Keep doing that and I probably will.”
“Challenge accepted, babe,” Taehyung teased. “Don’t scream too loud though. Your parents might hear you.”
With renewed vigor, Taehyung dove into your center, licking and slurping and dipping his fingers into you with surprising precision and skill. Taehyung was always a fast learner and apparently that applied to everything in his life, including sex.
Taehyung’s fingers began curling as they reached new depths inside you and the sensation of them grazing against your vaginal walls caused you to clench with a mixture of discomfort and delight. Taehyung picked up on your body cues and began twisting his wrist slightly to create more friction as he pulled his fingers in and out. You felt a sharp twinge inside your vagina and a tightening in your clit and you gripped Taehyung’s wavy locks and pulled harshly. The pleasure was definitely overpowering the pain, so you decided to just go with it.
“Right there, Tae,” you whined. “Whatever you’re doing, keep doing that.”
Taehyung moaned out loudly against your clit as you continued to pull on his hair and the vibrating sensation pushed you over the edge. You bit down on your lip to keep your screams from escaping as the most intense orgasm you’d ever felt broke out across your skin. You’d masturbated before, but the outcome had never been this intense. You turned your face into a nearby pillow and cried out as Taehyung helped you ride out the waves of your climax.
When you stopped twitching and started pushing his fingers away, Taehyung finally relented. You released your ironclad grip on his hair and he shivered as you extracted your fingers from his scalp. He shook the sensation out of his roots and gaped at you.
“I’ve never had anyone pull my hair like that before,” he admitted. “I think I liked it. I almost came in my pants, babe.”
You both started giggling at his newfound discovery. He collapsed next to you and tried to cuddle you, but your mind was swimming with lust and you switched positions so you could now hover over his crotch. The outline of his hardened cock was twisted across his thigh uncomfortably, and not even his loose cargo pants could hide his impressive size.
Taehyung shifted his hips nervously as you continued to gawk at him, and he had a sneaking suspicion that you were trying to reciprocate out of some type of misplaced duty. He quickly decided that maybe he should let you off the hook before he embarrassed himself.
“Babe,” Taehyung began. “You don’t have to. It’s ok.”
“Are you fucking kidding me, Elizabeth?” you retorted. “After what I just experienced, I have to know if I can do the same thing for you.”
Taehyung widened his eyes and snorted with laughter. He sat up to pull you into a sweet kiss and savored each brush of your lips across his own. You made little humming noises as he cupped your cheeks, but he chuckled and pulled away when you tried slipping your tongue into his mouth.
“If you really want to do this, babe, I won’t stop you,” Taehyung assured you. “Just go slow. I’ve never had anyone do this before, and I’m afraid that I won’t last very long.”
“Don’t worry, Tae-bear,” you sighed. “Just let me take care of you.”
You pushed at his chest until he laid back down against the sleeping bags. As you settled between his legs, you ran your fingers up his thighs and curled your fingers around the button holding his cargo pants together. You were gentle as you popped it open and pulled down the zipper. Taehyung’s bulging erection was poking at the top of his underwear waistband, and you nearly hiccupped at the sight of it.
Where the hell has he been hiding this monster?
Not being able to wait any longer, you leaned forward and started kissing and licking at his turgid length over his underwear. Taehyung hissed and pulled a pillow over his face to release a few shaky whines. You tugged his waistband down and wrapped your fingers around his stiffened shaft. The velvety texture and warmth felt wonderful as you squeezed it with your palm. The moan Taehyung released at your touch was music to your ears and you decided to test out a few things.
If he can learn on the job, then so can I.
After a few experimental strokes, you narrowed down the motion that brought the most delightful sounds out of Taehyung’s mouth. They were slightly muffled because of the pillow, but you could hear them nonetheless. You were about to try something else, but you noticed Taehyung clench uncomfortably and you realized that things were probably a little too dry for him.
He needs lubrication.
You licked your lips and smirked. You had all the lubrication he needed.
Brace yourself, Elizabeth.
You slowed your strokes and leaned in to sniff at the smears of precum spread across his bulbous head. The heady scent was certainly strange, but your curiosity got the better of you and you gave his slit a small lick.
“Oh, fuck,” Taehyung moaned loudly. “What are you doing, babe?”
Taehyung removed the pillow from his face and looked down between his legs to see your half naked form gripping his hard cock with your lips centimeters away from the tip. Your eyes met and he inhaled sharply when you winked at him. Before he could ask you anything, you pulled the head of his penis into your mouth and all sense of reality went out the metaphorical window.
“Holy shit,” Taehyung gasped. “It’s s-s-so w-warm...and w--wet.”
You continued to dip further down onto his solid length, stretching your lips, keeping your teeth hidden, and hollowing your cheeks, listening to each whimper and whine, figuring out the right combination of movements to bring Taehyung the most amount of pleasure.
“B-babe, s-slow down,” Taehyung begged helplessly. “I-I’m so close.”
Taehyung was so wound up from everything that he couldn’t hold himself together for much longer. His thighs were trembling and his fingers were clutching the sleeping bag beneath him. He wasn’t going to last if you kept up your current pace.
I've got him right where I want him. Let's see what pushes him over the edge.
In the spirit of exploration, each time you bobbed your head, you tried swirling your tongue around Taehyung’s shaft. After a few of those motions, Taehyung was clutching at your hair, trying to pull you off of his dick.
“Babe, wait,” Taehyung pleaded. “I’m gonna, I’m gonna-”
You grabbed his wrists and pulled his hands away from your head. As soon as he was distracted by that, you took him in as deep as you could. Taehyung released a deep throaty moan and warm spurts erupted into your mouth. You sucked and swallowed on instinct because, let’s face it, no one likes a mess (especially in a tent). When he started whimpering from overstimulation, you pulled back and wiped your mouth with your shirt.
Taehyung was gasping for breath, his glassy eyes wildly scanning the tent and his fingers reaching out for you. You nuzzled into his side and sighed happily.
“I can’t believe you just did that, babe,” Taehyung huffed out. “Not only did you give me the orgasm of my life, but you swallowed everything I gave you. I wasn’t expecting that.”
“Are you kidding me, Tae?” you scoffed. “You know how much I hate messes. It just made sense to swallow.”
You allowed the temperature in the tent to cool, but the smell of sex in the air was intoxicating, as was Taehyung’s gentle strokes along your side and the sweet nuzzles along your forehead. Entranced by his affection, you allowed your own fingers to wander freely across his chest until hardened pebbles were poking through his thin shirt. Your hand slipped lower and you felt Taehyung’s dick twitch against your wrist.
“You’re hard again, Tae-bear,” you teased. “Haven’t had enough of me yet?”
“Not even close, ttalgi,” Taehyung chuckled. “There is so much I want to do to you.”
“So what’s stopping you?” you boldly challenged. “Show me what you got, Elizabeth.”
“First of all, don’t call me Elizabeth when we’re like this,” Taehyung admonished you as he nipped at your ear. “It kinda kills the mood. Second, I don’t want to hurt you.”
“How would you hurt me, Tae?” you asked. “You trying to get rough with me?”
“Not intentionally,” Taehyung affirmed. "But after fingering you, I'm not sure you can take me. You're so tight."
You stopped caressing him abruptly and sat up. Before Taehyung could utter a word of protest, you stripped off your shirt and straddled his hips. You had just enough time to unhook your bra before Taehyung sat up and stopped you. With the bra trapped helplessly between your bodies, you met Taehyung's concerned face with fiery resolve.
"You don't get to tell me what I can or cannot do, Taehyung Elizabeth," you stated firmly. "You learned that lesson when we were kids, or have you forgotten about the seesaw?"
Taehyung rolled his eyes at your reminder about an incident from elementary school and he began stroking your bare back in an attempt to soothe your anger.
"Babe, I'm not trying to tell you what to do," Taehyung claimed. "I'm just worried about hurting you."
"My body, my choice, Tae," you retorted. "I decide what I can handle, not you."
Taehyung opened his mouth to offer a rebuttal, but you shut him up with a kiss, slowly working your tongue past his lips. His self control crumbled when you reached up and tugged at his messy locks.
"Oh, shit," Taehyung whined. "I gave you a fucking weapon, didn't I?"
"Damn right, you did," you smirked while grinding your messy center against his throbbing cock. "You like it rough, huh, Tae?"
"Mmmmm, yeah," Taehyung groaned. "I'm as surprised as you are."
Taehyung's fingers found their way back to your creamy folds, and you moaned lasciviously as he plunged one and then two fingers into your swollen cunt.
The sharp lick of pain from earlier reappeared, but it couldn't compete with the waves of pleasure crashing and spreading across your nerve endings. You pushed back at his intrusive fingers, and your impatience was growing exponentially.
You reached down and wrapped one hand around Taehyung's fat cock and smeared the accumulated precum over the head and down the shaft. He felt so solid in your hand and you couldn't stop wondering about what it would feel like inside you.
It's time.
Without warning, you lifted your hips and brought one knee up. Taehyung was so focused on his own fingers that he didn't realize what you were doing until it was too late. You quickly angled his dick toward your clit and gathered up as much slick as you could. You slipped the head of his penis into your soaking entrance and immediately regretted your hasty decision.
What the actual fuck?! Oh, the pain…
In a slight panic, you tried to retreat, but it was too late. The warmth and wetness registered in Taehyung's brain and he bucked another couple of centimeters into you. You couldn't form any words, so you released a pained squeak at the intrusion and leaned in to sink your teeth into his exposed neck. Taehyung preened at your unexpected bite, relishing the sweet pain you inflicted upon him.
"Fuuuuuuck," Taehyung moaned loudly. "Oh, baby, you feel incredible."
Mistaking your squeak for enjoyment, Taehyung lifted your hips a bit and then pushed back in even further than before. You blindly clawed at his back and Taehyung reached down and tried to pull his shirt off, thinking that you wanted him more naked. In his haste, his limbs became tangled in the shirt and he began thrashing slightly to untangle himself.
Unfortunately, that just added to the assault his cock was launching on your swollen cunt. The stinging between your legs spread across your abdomen, and you clenched, clawed, and contorted your body, desperately trying to extract yourself from his clutches, but his dick was inescapable.
Somehow, you overcorrected your position and tipped sideways, drawing his thick cock out of you and earning a reprieve from the sharp pain ebbing from your dripping slit. You noted that although the pain was slowly subsiding, you felt an overwhelming emptiness inside.
Taehyung was still struggling to get the shirt off of his torso and head, so you reached over to help him. Much to your dismay, he was sharing your thoughts and leaned in at the same time, your skulls colliding harshly and drawing yelps out of both of you.
You both fell back against the soft pile of bedding and groaned with displeasure, your heavy breathing filling the atmosphere of the tent. The impact of his forehead against your own was reverberating through your brain, adding to soreness growing at your center. The entire situation was so epically ridiculous that you couldn’t even fathom your initial thought process.
Why did I think this would be easy and painless?
You huffed out in exasperation and considered posing the question to your soulmate. However, when you shifted your gaze in his direction, you realized that your adorable dork was still trapped in his shirt/straight jacket and he’d surrendered to its cottony grip. His soft belly was exposed, his chest was heaving with exertion and his erection was deflated in the aftermath of the heavy head butt you’d accidentally delivered. The bite on his neck was red and very noticeable and your ego inflated at the thought of leaving your mark on his perfect skin.
“Tae,” you giggled. “Would you like some help?”
Taehyung made one last attempt to disentangle his arms from his shirt, but ultimately gave up the fight.
“Please?” he begged. “My elbows are stupid and they won’t come out of the sleeves.”
“Well, you keep buying these tighter shirts,” you admonished him while pulling on the soft fabric. “Maybe you should go for a baggier look, babe.”
Once you pulled his shirt over his head and got his “stupid” elbows sorted out, Taehyung pouted at the mess you two made of your first sexual encounter. It was going so well until his shirt decided to betray him.
“Sorry about that,” Taehyung sighed. “I guess I ruined everything, huh? You were totally getting into it and I just had to play Houdini with my shirt.”
“Ummm, you may want to rethink that assessment, Tae-bear,” you replied. “I wasn’t getting into anything. I was trying to get away from you. I was in some serious pain and your shenanigans weren’t helping.”
Taehyung gaped at your confession and his frustration was quickly replaced by concern. He reached over and coaxed you into his bare chest.
"I was hurting you, ttalgi?" Taehyung murmured into your hair. "I'm so sorry. That was the last thing I wanted to do."
"You're not completely to blame," you admitted. "I thought I could take it, but obviously, I was wrong."
"Are you ok?" Taehyung asked sweetly. "Want me to check for any permanent damage?"
You giggled and slapped his chest playfully, and Taehyung only snuggled into your body even more.
"There's no permanent damage, you dork," you retorted. "I'm just sore. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about."
Taehyung sighed with relief and proceeded to trace little swirls onto your exposed skin. He began humming some unknown tune and the soothing baritone notes soon lulled you into a light slumber. You cracked an eyelid when Taehyung pulled away from you, but he was just gathering the fluffy comforter over your bodies to brace against the chill of the evening.
You sat up and turned out the dim lantern. When you rejoined Taehyung underneath the comforter, you both entwined your naked bodies together without hesitation.
Why does this feel so right?
The natural sounds of the forest and Taehyung's gentle snores coerced you to sleep, and visions of Taehyung's face contorted with pleasure wracked your dreams. You could almost hear the melodic moans and whimpers he'd released earlier, and you could almost feel his stiff rod probing against your sopping entrance.
Tae…
You gasped as you felt a hand at your breast, gently kneading and searching out your hardened nipple. You arched your back in response and a small moan escaped from your lips.
Such a good sex dream…
Or is it?!
The thought possessed your mind completely, and you tried to shake the slumber out of your mind in order to wake up.
Upon your exit from Dreamland, you found that Taehyung's hand was in fact on your breast, but he wasn't groping you. In fact, you could still hear the steady breaths behind you as the big spoon called Taehyung curled his smooth body around you. Your ass was sitting against his crotch and you could feel the heat and throb of a partial erection against you.
Still floating in an ocean of dream-induced lust, you unconsciously pressed your ass back into his crotch, grinding your growing wetness along his hardening shaft.
Fuck, that feels good. I'm still a little sore, but I seriously want his dick inside me again. Should I wake him up? Maybe we can try again? Maybe it won't hurt this time?
You tried rationalizing every possible scenario that would lead his penis into your vagina, but they all felt wrong. How could you even consider doing something while Taehyung was asleep and couldn't consent?
I can't.
You steeled your resolve and started to pull away from Taehyung, but the grip on your breast tightened and then pulled you back in. Taehyung's breath had increased in pace and it was husky and deep as he whispered into your ear.
"Why'd you stop, baby?" Taehyung grunted. "I was just about to get to the good part."
You released a throaty gasp as Taehyung's fingers slipped lower to circle your clit. The slick deluge he found only had his hips rutting against you with more enthusiasm.
"I can't stop thinking about your perfect little pussy, ttalgi," Taehyung hissed. "So perfect. So wet. So mine."
Two fingers found their way into your slippery folds and Taehyung was soon dipping both of them into your dripping cavern.
"Fuck, Tae," you whined. "That feels so good, don't stop."
"Wouldn't dream of it, babe," he chuckled. "Are you ready to try again? I'll be as gentle as I can, and this time, no failed magic tricks."
Taehyung moved his arm behind you so he could plunge his fingers back into you from behind. He drove them deeper and deeper, drawing out moan after delicious moan from your throat. The soreness was a distant memory now, and all you could think about was getting that fat dick back inside of you.
"Tae, please," you shamelessly begged. "I need you inside me."
"Ok, babe," Taehyung assented. "But you have to let me know if I'm hurting you, ok? I promise to stop and wait for you to be ready. There's no need to rush."
You looked back at his dilated pupils and pulled him into a smoldering kiss. After a few moments of stealing each other's breath away, you lifted your leg and gave him full access to the swollen sight between your legs.
"Ok, baby," Taehyung muttered while maneuvering his stiff cock to your entrance. "Here I go."
The head of his penis slipped in and you waited for the sharp twinge to return. There was a definite increase in pressure, but no overwhelming pain. Taehyung grunted against your shoulder and released a soft whine. You rolled your hips back against him and he slipped in a little further with an even louder whine.
"Fuck, babe," Taehyung whimpered. "You can't even begin to comprehend how amazing you feel. So tight and so warm and so fucking wet. I could do this all day every day and die a happy man."
"You're so big, Tae," you replied. "Give me a moment to adjust."
Taehyung nodded against your shoulder and waited. You pushed back against his hips and he slipped in a little more. After a few experimental attempts, you were getting restless. Taehyung's large slender fingers began circling your clit once more, enticing more arousal to seep forth and provide the necessary lubrication. You writhed in his grasp, and slowly but surely, Taehyung slid his dick in all the way to the hilt.
"That's it, baby," Taehyung coaxed. "Now, you're full of my cock. How does it feel?"
That was a damn good question.
How does it feel? I feel full and hot, but something's missing. What else could there be?
You leaned forward, pulling off of his lap slightly, and then ground your hips back against his. The tingle of pleasure that licked up your spine was all the answer you needed. Taehyung's throaty groan at your movement was so encouraging that you reached back and pulled at his hips.
"I think I'm ready, Tae," you cooed. "Go ahead and try moving. It doesn't hurt, I promise."
Taehyung pulled your chin over and placed a chaste kiss on your lips. You melted against his lips, but yelped when he pulled his hips back and thrust forward unexpectedly. The sensation was raw and unlike anything you'd ever experienced before. You both moaned out together and stilled your movements.
"Oh shit," you gasped. "I wasn't expecting that."
"Neither was I," admitted Taehyung. "I didn't think this could feel any better, but it does. I just want to keep doing this over and over again."
"Keep going, Tae," you pleaded. "Let's finish what we started."
The two of you proceeded to test out the waters of your sexual appetite. Taehyung discovered a fountain of stamina, you discovered new ways to bend your body, and you took turns exerting dominance over one another.
In the end, entwined in a sweaty heap of satisfaction, you and Taehyung sought out each other's lips, bringing the whole messy ordeal to a close.
"Well, we had a rough start," you giggled against his lips. "But I think we worked out the kinks."
"Speak for yourself," Taehyung grumbled. "I know there's more to me than hair pulling."
"Of course there is, Tae-bear," you confirmed. "You also liked it when I scratched your back and bit your neck."
"I guess I'm just a pain slut," he chuckled. "I can live with that."
You both settled into a comfortable position and pulled the comforter back over your bodies. The chilly night air was causing your glistening skin to erupt into goosebumps, so you snuggled together and drifted off to Dreamland with your arms wrapped around each other.
Perfect. -------------- "Babe, have you seen my laptop?" Taehyung yelled from downstairs. "I can't find it."
You unplugged the laptop and gathered all of Taehyung's accessories from the floor. Once you'd returned from your camping trip, you'd hunkered down in your room to chill and enjoy the last few days you had with Taehyung. You read your books, Taehyung drew on his laptop, and random episodes of your favorite anime shows played on your TV. It was absolute bliss.
Speaking of bliss, both you and Taehyung had a serious talk about your camping shenanigans before you made your way home. You agreed that although the whole experience was beyond amazing, certain rules needed to be set.
You both agreed that you were reckless by not worrying about protection. Sure, you were both virgins with almost no experience, but there were still precautions that should be taken. You decided not to engage in intercourse again until you had condoms and you were able to secure some type of birth control.
Teenagers can be so irresponsible.
That didn't mean you weren't engaging in other sexual activities behind closed doors. You both learned the value of pillows as a method of muffling moans and groans. You'd both experimented in your bed, and your parents were none the wiser. Things never escalated into the realms of intercourse, but neither of you cared. Pleasure was bountiful in other areas besides intercourse.
You also agreed that you needed to be completely honest with one another from now on. There would be no ill will if he or you decided to explore your desires elsewhere. There just needed to be open communication and no jealousy.
I am my own person and so are you.
The only other agreement you made was to continue your intimate relationship until one of you entered into some type of relationship. In the event of a relationship forming, all sexual shenanigans would immediately halt.
Soulmates just want each other to be happy. It's that simple.
You placed all of Taehyung's drafting tools and laptop back into his backpack and carried it downstairs. Your mom was lavishing Taehyung with homemade cookies fresh from the oven and a large glass of milk.
Ugh, spoiled brat.
You handed over the bag and he leaned over to place a small peck on your forehead. Your mother gushed at the small display of affection and made heart eyes at you when Taehyung walked away to place his backpack among his other belongings. You just rolled your eyes and grabbed a cookie from the plate.
Taehyung was going home today, but a part of him would never leave you. You became soulmates at the age of 5, but your actions at the age of 15 solidified your universal connection for eternity.
Whatever the Universe throws at me, at least I know I'll have my eternal connection to Taehyung to help me see it through.

Aurora High School (Introduction Part One)
Introduction Part One Introduction Part Two Masterpost
Summary: After starting their junior year in high school, the Jones twins find themselves meeting new people, setting them on a track towards new friendships, new romances, new heartbreaks, and many new adventures.
Pairings: (Eventual) Scarlett Jones x Finian de Seel, Tyler Jones x Saedii Gilwraeth, and Aurora O'Malley x Kaliis Gilwraeth
Word count: 4,708
Author's Notes: This is the new project I've been raving about! I've been very into this book series lately, and I was feeling inspired. However, this won't be like my other two projects, so it won't be in the regular rotation! Instead of being a chaptered fic, this is going to be a series of oneshots that gets developed as people request ideas. I do have some more ideas up my sleeve, but I will be accepting requests very soon!
Important Author's Notes: This story contains a character who uses a wheelchair. I did do some research, but since I don't experience it, it's virtually impossible for me to be an expert on this topic. If you are more knowledgeable about this than I might be, and you notice an inaccuracy, please let me know what it is and I'll try to fix it!
It was a Friday in October. October was one of the best times of the year in the opinion of one Scarlett Jones. It was after September, so everyone had already gotten used to being at school. But it wasn't quite December yet, so you could go outside without having to wear eight jackets. Plus the slightly warmer fall months were some of the best times of the year for fashion, and Scarlett would know. She had plenty of experience in that field. The amounts of people wearing scarves and sweaters increased tenfold, which could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on the rest of their outfits.
But the fashion habits of her classmates didn't really matter, despite the fact that she could go on and on about the topic. What mattered slightly more was the fact that her brother was desperately trying to get her attention as they approached the school.
"Scar? Scarlett?" Tyler waved his hand in front of his sister's face.
"Hm?" She quirked an eyebrow. "I wasn't listening, what was that?"
Tyler rolled his eyes and adjusted the way his backpack was resting on his shoulder. "I was saying that I need you to tell Coach de Stoy that I can't make practice tonight. I've got too much work to catch up on, and I don't want to fall behind this early in the year."
"Yeah, yeah, we get it. Mr. Tyler Jones, star player on the football team, passing all his classes with flying colors." Scarlett nudged her brother, not hard enough to hurt, but just hard enough to be a little annoying. "Careful, or you'll make everyone feel bad about themselves."
"Oh shut up." Tyler smiled, standing up a little bit taller to look for someone in the crowd of people flooding through the front doors. When he spotted her, he raised his hand high above his head and waved.
Cat Brannock slowed down her walk to fall into step alongside the twins. Somehow, despite the cool and cloudy weather, she was still wearing a short sleeved shirt that showed off the tattoos on her arms. She had the most tattoos of any high schooler Scarlett had ever seen. But they were very well done, so she could understand why her friend wanted them to be visible. Cat had skipped the 5th grade, so she was a senior even though the Joneses were juniors. She was already looking towards college. Neither of the twins were looking forward to her leave. It would be weird to not have her around all the time, the three of them were rarely very far apart since they'd met in kindergarten. But they couldn't really do much to stop her from going, after all, college was what she wanted.
"Hey, kids." Cat smirked. "Let me guess, Tyler's fretting over his errands and Scar's making fun of him for it?" She gestured to each person as she mentioned them.
"Just the daily routine." Scarlett winked, linking elbows with her friend.
Cat laughed. "Do you two ever get tired of doing the same shit every day?"
"Never. Routines are what lead to mastery." Tyler said proudly.
"Just say 'practice makes perfect', Ty." Scar shook her head. "If you try to get too fancy with your words, no one's going to know what you're talking about."
"That's easy for you to say, no one ever knows what you're talking about." Tyler retorted. Scarlett stuck her tongue out at him. "It's not my fault that-"
Tyler was cut off by a girl bumping into him. She'd been very absorbed in whatever she was doing on her phone, so she didn't see him coming. The shock of bumping into someone made her look up, giving the rest of them a better look at her face. The first thing you'd notice about her would be that she had a streak of white dyed in her otherwise black hair. The second thing you'd notice would be that one of her eyes was dark brown, and the other one was really light blue. Almost colorless. She hugged her notebooks close to her chest.
"I'm- I'm sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going. I should've been watching." She apologized sheepishly.
"Don't worry about it, it's fine. I should've been paying attention too." Tyler shrugged.
"Oh… thanks." The girl looked slightly confused, as if she expected someone as intimidating-looking as Tyler to react less calmly. But despite his appearance, he was practically the human embodiment of a golden retriever. "Well, I should really get to class."
And just like that, the mystery girl was gone. Scarlett couldn't help but notice that she'd never seen that girl before. It wouldn't have been surprising if she just didn't like to be the center of attention. Or maybe they just didn't have any of the same classes. Either way, Scar would be lying if she said that she wasn't intrigued.
A few minutes later, Scarlett and Tyler were sitting at their desks in the first class of the day while the morning announcements droned on in the background. Scarlett knew the girl who did them every day. Her name was Zila Madran, she'd been Scarlett's tutor in freshman year. They still talked occasionally, but they ran in very different circles, so they didn't see each other often. Eventually, the announcements ended, and the second bell rang. The first bell was always more of a warning, like 'okay, you'd better at least be in the building'. But the second bell was the 'get your asses to class' bell. And if you were still in the hallway after the second bell, then you were screwed.
Scarlett was fully prepared to fully zone out and stare at a guy across the room for the entirety of class, until of course Miss Mystery walked in. She looked like she was going to just sit down at a free desk and call it a day, but the teacher stopped her.
"Ah, Miss O' Malley! I see you've found your way here. Class, this is the new student, Aurora O' Malley. She will be joining us for the remainder of the year." The teacher explained. "Please make her feel welcome."
Oh, so she's a new kid. Scarlett thought to herself. That's why I haven't seen her around before.
Frankly, Aurora looked quite embarrassed after the surprise introduction. Maybe Scarlett had been right about her not enjoying the spotlight. Whatever the case, that was the last interesting thing that happened for the entire rest of class. The rest of it was spent going over poetry… or was it a play? She wasn't paying any kind of attention, it could've been fractions and decimals for all she knew, despite the fact that they were in English class. She didn't need to know about Shakespeare and all of his friends, it wasn't like she was ever going to meet them. She had better things to do anyway.
Time ticked by slowly. Scarlett was sure she almost dozed off once or twice. She was only fully awake again when the bell rang, then she practically jumped out of her seat. It only took her a minute to put her notebook and pen back into her bag, but by the time she'd finished, Tyler was already talking to Aurora. Scarlett listened in on their conversation.
"I was just wondering if maybe you could show me around?" Aurora asked. "I know we don't know each other too well, but you're the only person I've talked to all day, and I get lost really easily around here."
"Sure. This place is like a maze to anyone new, so I'd be happy to show you the ropes." Tyler nodded.
"Well that was fast. I didn't even have to tell you that you get to skip two class periods." Aurora smiled.
That had Scarlett's interest piqued. It wasn't that she didn't like school, but she was feeling especially done with the world that day. A two-period break sounded like exactly what she needed. "Do you mind if I tag along?"
"Oh, um, sure." Aurora nodded. She looked back at Tyler. "You know her, right? I saw you guys walking together this morning."
"Yeah, I know her. This is my sister, Scarlett." Tyler gestured to his sister.
"Nice to meet you." Scarlett smiled. "I like your hair, by the way."
"Thanks." Aurora looked a little surprised at the compliment, but not in a bad way. It had done a good job of breaking the ice.
The next two hours were okay, if not slightly boring. Scarlett had severely overestimated how fun this would be. She was at least glad that their absence from class was officially excused. That was the bright side. The first place they went was the multi-purpose lab, which was used for most of the science classes. Next, they went to all of the important classrooms. Math, Social Studies, the works. Then on to the important but less necessary rooms, like the auditorium, the cafeteria, and the gym. They only briefly went over the principal's office, figuring that she had to have been there already. Just as they were finishing their tour, the bell rang to signify the end of period three. Students began flooding out of classrooms.
"And I guess that's all we have time for." Tyler clapped his hands once. "Welcome to Aurora High School."
"You know, I just realized how weird it's going to be to go to a school that I share a name with." Aurora glanced at a nearby banner that had the school's name on it.
"You'll get used to it eventually." Scarlett tapped her on the shoulder.
For a moment, things were looking up. Their little tour was over and done with, there were only six periods left in the day, and Scarlett had gotten to miss math and a study hall, one of which was one of her least favorite classes. But that little bit of optimism was quickly shot down. As the three of them rounded a corner, everything exploded into a burst of noise and motion. Faster than you could blink, a fight had broken out. It had to be about four or five guys, all beating the absolute shit out of each other. It didn't take long for a crowd to gather. Tyler took it upon himself to see what was going on. He pushed through all the people to get to the center of things.
"Hey! What's going on here?" Tyler barely had time to finish his sentence before he got decked in the face. Apparently this group didn't take kindly to people trying to mediate things.
Aurora gasped as Tyler was dragged into the fight. Scarlett felt for her. It was only her first day, and things were already going wrong. That must not have made her feel too good. Her mismatched eyes darted back and forth as she tried to keep up with all the flying fists. Scarlett suspected that she'd never seen a real fight before. She looked nervous.
"I'll… I'll catch up with you later." Aurora decided, turning around and speed-walking away. Scarlett watched her leave.
When she turned to face the action again, she saw Principal Adams making his way through the crowd. Three of the guys had fled the scene, leaving just Tyler and one other boy to take the blame. She didn't know who the second guy was, but he was taller than Tyler, which wasn't the easiest thing to be.
"What do you two think you're doing?" Adams crossed his arms.
"I'm sorry sir. I was just trying to stop the fight, I swear." Tyler's shoulders sagged. The other boy stayed eerily quiet, but still stood tall, seemingly not as ashamed of himself as Tyler was.
"Yes, well, joining in on the fight isn't really stopping it." Adams shook his head. "I'm afraid I'll need both of you to pay a visit to my office." He looked around at the rest of the students. "The rest of you, get to class. There's nothing to see here anymore."
It took a minute for everyone to leave, but eventually they did, until the last one left was Scarlett. "Ty, do you want me to come with you?"
Tyler nodded. Whenever possible, if they had to face a potentially scary situation, they would do it together. It had been that way since they were little kids. At that point, it had become a reflex for them to ask if the other needed support.
"Alright Miss Jones, you can come, but I will need to talk to these two separately. You weren't a part of the fight, so you don't have to be a part of the punishment." Adams told her. He began walking away, and the three of them followed.
A moment later, they found themselves in the waiting room of the principal's office. Tyler and the other boy sat next to each other on one end of the room, and Scarlett sat next to a different boy on the other end. Tyler mostly just stared at the floor, but he would occasionally glance at the guy next to him. This dude was very tall. Even Tyler was pretty intimidated, and that was completely unrelated to the fact that he'd just been beaten up by this guy. He had long black hair and dark blue eyes. He looked like someone straight out of a fantasy novel. And apparently, he was also very attentive, because he noticed Tyler looking at him.
"Is there something you wanted to tell me?" The boy asked. His voice was deep and serious, and he had a faint accent that Tyler couldn't quite place.
"Oh. No, not really." Tyler offered his hand. "I'm Tyler, by the way."
"I am aware. My name is Kaliis, though my friends call me Kal." The boy answered, not shaking Ty's hand and instead opting to ignore it.
"You put up a real fight back there, Kal. Do you do sports?" Tyler asked him.
"I don't participate in school sports, no. I take fencing lessons outside of school." Kal said.
"Cool." Tyler nodded appreciatively. "But if you ever wanted to join the football team, I'm sure we'd be able to find a spot for you."
Kal smiled, but just a little. It was barely noticeable. "My sister would kill me if I joined the football team. She thinks all of you are buffoons."
"Wow, harsh." Tyler laughed. "But hey, no harm no foul. Do you have any paper I could use?"
"I don't. Why do you ask?" Kal raised an eyebrow.
"I'll write down my number, maybe we could hang out sometime." Tyler looked around for a second, then got up to grab a napkin and a pen. He wrote down his name and phone number, then handed the napkin to Kal. "There you go."
"Thank you." Kal folded the napkin up and put it into his pocket. They both looked up as the door to the principal's office opened.
"Tyler Jones? Kaliis Gilwraeth? You can come in." Adams gestured for them to follow him, and they did.
Scarlett had been eavesdropping on Tyler and Kal's entire conversation. It seemed like Tyler had made a new friend, which was good. And also strange, given the fact that they'd met during a fist fight. But good nonetheless. However, when they vanished into the principal's office, she became eternally bored. She turned to look at the boy next to her. He was busy scrolling through the homepage of some website on his phone. She couldn't quite tell what it was, so she looked up at his face instead. He was quite possibly the palest person she had ever seen. It looked like the sun had never touched his skin. His hair was a light, light blond to match. The only thing that threw off his whole snow prince vibe were his eyes, which were such a dark brown that they almost looked black. She couldn't tell the difference between his irises and pupils. He wasn't the most impressive guy she'd ever seen, but all things considered, he was a little attractive.
"Whatcha doing?" Scarlett asked, leaning towards him and resting on the arm of her chair.
"Checking notifications. I've been in here for a hot minute and Adams still hasn't found time for me." The boy shook his head. "I guess two guys beating each other up is more important than little old me."
"Well what are you in for?" Scarlett brushed her hair out of her face.
"Someone locked three teachers' car keys into their cars. They assumed it was me because I kept leaving class." He shrugged.
"I'm going to take a wild guess: it was you, wasn't it?" She smiled.
"Oh, yeah, totally." He laughed. "Frankly, I would've been intimidated if it wasn't. I like to think that I'm the only guy in this whole school who can pull off a stunt that awesome."
"How did you do it?" Scar crossed her legs.
"You ask a lot of questions. This isn't an interrogation, is it? Did Adams put you up to this?" The boy smirked. He switched the tab on his phone to a time killer game.
"Don't worry, I'm not a secret agent. I'm just curious." She said coyly. The boy's smile dropped. He looked genuinely surprised that anyone would actually want to listen to him, which made her feel kind of bad. But she would've felt worse if he was actually looking at her instead of at his phone. "Anyway, what do you do around here? Outside of this room, I mean."
"I'm on the tech crew for the school play. I used to go to robotics club too, but I dropped out after I realized that I was making everyone feel bad about themselves." And just like that, his sarcastic facade was back up.
"With what, your skills in robotics or your charming personality?" Scarlett retorted.
"Why can't it be both?" He pointed out.
"It can be both when you tell me what I'm supposed to call you." She countered. "I'm Scarlett. Scarlett Jones."
"Touché." He turned off his phone for the first time since they'd started talking, and looked up at her. The moment he saw her face, his eyes widened and he sputtered like a broken engine for a moment before finding his words. "I'm single. Are you Fin?"
Scarlett tried her absolute best to hold back a laugh. This was something she'd witnessed many times before. He'd been trying to ask if she was single, but had failed miserably. "I'm actually not Fin, but I think you might be."
"...Oh." Fin realized his mistake. He shook his head a little to get himself back on track. "Yeah… Yeah, I'm Fin. Finian if you want to be fancy about it. Or Finian de Karran-de Seel if you're mad at me."
"I'll try not to be mad at you then, because that's a mouthful." Scarlett nudged his shoulder with her own.
Fin shrugged. "Yeah, it's hyphenated. It almost never fits on the line when I have to write my name on an assignment."
Scarlett smiled. "I'll tell you what, how about I put my number into that phone of yours, and I'll text you later?"
"Sure." Fin was quick to open up his contacts and hand over his phone.
"Do you have a habit of handing your phone to complete strangers?" Scar asked, typing in her name and number. The phone looked very new, and very expensive. There was no denying that.
"Not always. But one time I gave my phone to one of my cousins expecting him to give it back right away, and he didn't give it back for eight days. He's older than me, so I couldn't really do anything about it, but my mom and aunts got mad at him." Fin rambled. "He's kind of an ass, to be honest. Not to mention that I owe him a favor from one time when he washed the dishes for me. He's been holding it over my head for weeks. And I borrowed twenty bucks from him, so I owe him that too."
Scarlett handed his phone back to him, and just as he finished talking, the door opened. Tyler and Kal stepped out. Fin looked them over and let out a low whistle. Scarlett decided to do a science experiment, and glanced at him. He was checking out her brother. She made a mental note of that.
"Have you been chatting it up out here, Scar?" Tyler asked.
"Maybe." She stood up. "Don't worry, he didn't ask me out."
"You say that as if I would assume that he did." Tyler smiled. Scarlett conducted another experiment, knowing that Ty's smile had quite the fanbase. Fin was leaning back in his chair, eyes slightly widened. Yeah, he was definitely checking out her brother.
The door to the principal's office opened a second time, and Adams poked his head out. "Finian de Karran-de Seel?"
"Well would you look at that. I guess our time together has come to an end." Fin started to go towards the door. "But I'll see you around, hopefully."
Scarlett hadn't noticed before, but when he moved, she saw that Fin was in a wheelchair. She hadn't taken the time to really look, so she'd just assumed he was sitting in the same kind of chair that she was. She'd assumed that he was just wearing gloves because he liked them. Evidently, she was wrong. It was honestly pretty interesting, and she had plenty of questions, but figured that it would probably be best not to ask them. They'd only known each other for about fifteen minutes, it wasn't necessarily time to get super personal.
"Yeah. I'll text you later." Scarlett waved to him, and he waved back.
Then she, Kal, and Tyler left the office. As soon as the door closed behind them, Tyler let out a sigh of relief. "I'm so glad we're out of there. I don't know how much longer I could deal with Adams' 'disappointed' look."
"What'd he say?" Scarlett asked.
"He said that he was not mad, only disappointed, and that the two of us should have known better." Kal explained briefly.
"We got off with a week's worth of after school detention, starting Monday." Tyler frowned.
"Who would've thought! Star student Tyler Jones, in detention? Unbelievable." Scarlett pretended to be indignant.
"I know, it's not-" Tyler caught on to her sarcasm. "Oh, okay, I get it. But don't expect my sympathy if you ever get detention for a week."
"I wasn't expecting it anyway, you absolute child." She tapped him on the shoulder.
"Scarlett, you are three minutes older than me." Tyler said, gesturing with his hands out of frustration.
"Yup, three very long and important minutes." Scarlett nodded. "I'm glad you're with me on this one."
"I feel like this is not a conversation that I need to be a part of." Kal decided.
"Yeah, probably not, but we still like having you around." Scarlett winked jokingly.
The three of them walked down the hallway together, parting ways only when they had to go to their separate classes. Tyler had gym, Kal had math, and Scarlett had social studies. It was one of the only classes that she actually enjoyed going to. It might seem strange to some people, considering the rest of her personality, but history had always fascinated her. She liked learning about different conflicts and how they were solved. That was why she joined the debate team. She liked arguing when she knew it wasn't for real, and she was very persuasive.
Periods five, six, seven, eight, and nine crawled by slowly. When your day had been as exciting as Scarlett's had, anything less interesting was boring. After social studies was art. Then lunch. After that was science. And finally, gym. She hated going home after gym, because her hair and makeup would always get messed up, then she had to go on the bus that way. She wished that Coach de Stoy would let them take a few minutes after class to get cleaned up, but instead the class always went right to the bell. It was annoying. Plus, then she had to run to the bus every day, which was like a second gym class.
The bus ride home wasn't very eventful, thankfully. Usually there would be at least someone in the back yelling, or playing their music too loud, but not that day. And frankly, it was very refreshing.
When Scarlett and Tyler got home, they took off their bags and jackets and hung them on the hooks by the door. It was quiet for a moment, but not a long moment.
"Welcome home, you two." A voice called from the living room.
"Hey, Adams." The twins responded in unison.
They'd been living with Principal Adams since their father died when they were kids. The two had been close friends, and since their mother wasn't around, he was the next highest choice. The Joneses were also the only ones with permission to call him by only his last name. They usually tried to keep school and home separate, except for a few rare occasions. That day was one of those occasions. Upon walking into the living room, Tyler got another one of those disappointed parent looks. Scarlett took this opportunity to sneak upstairs.
"Tyler. Why, exactly, did you think that trying to intervene in a fight was the right choice?" Adams asked, putting down the book that he was reading.
"I don't know, they were really hurting each other! I had to do something!" Tyler raised his voice a little.
"You don't need to get upset with me. I'm not upset with you. I'm just worried about you." Adams clarified. Tyler pulled up a chair to sit across from him. "Sometimes you do have to try to help. But you also have to pick your battles."
Tyler sighed. "I understand."
"Good. That's all I needed from you." Adams picked up the book again. Tyler put the chair back and went upstairs to his room.
He sat down on his bed and picked up his phone from where it had been charging on the nightstand all day. He never brought it to school, it was a distraction. Upon opening it, he saw that he had a message from a few hours ago.
Kal G: Hello. This is Kal.
Tyler added him to his contacts and slid the notification away, then moved on. He opened up the chat he had with Scarlett.
Tyler J: Adams gave me a talking to.
Tyler J: I thought the talk today at school was enough, but I guess not.
Scarlett J: Is he mad?
Tyler J: He said no, but I think he is.
Scarlett J: Maybe if we get out of the house for a while, you'll feel better?
Scarlett J: Fresh air could be good, we should go to the park.
Tyler J: Could we invite some friends?
Scarlett J: Yeah, you text some people and I'll text some people.
Scarlett J: Meet me downstairs in 5?
Tyler J: Got it.
Tyler hit send on the last message, then switched chats. He sent messages to Kal, Aurora, and Cat.
Tyler J: Scarlett and I are going to the park, want to come with?
He got responses from each of them in no time.
Kal G: I am free for the rest of the day. I will have to bring my sister though, if that's alright.
Cat B: I bet I'll get there faster than you.
Aurora O'M: Can you tell me which one? If so, I'll be there.
After quickly responding to each of them, he got up and put his phone in his pocket. He speed-walked down the stairs and grabbed his sweatshirt. Scarlett was already waiting for him, having donned a light jacket and scarf. She was using her phone camera to reapply her lipstick when Tyler came down. After a final touch-up, she zipped her phone into her jacket pocket and smiled at her brother.
"Ready to go?" She asked.
"Ready." Tyler nodded. Then, they were out the door and on their way to the park.

#77 Grease (1978)
Slick your hair back and grab your team jacket, we’re hand-jiving our way through Grease, a movie about bunch of hot, self-motivated ladies with their whole futures ahead of them settling for a bunch of schmucks.
Grease is a strange experience to relive as an adult, because it was (as I suspect with a lot of people) ever-present in my childhood, and I didn’t understand the great majority of references then. This movie was intended as an 8th birthday present from my mother; I came home from school one day and the VHS was sitting on our kitchen countertop unwrapped. I didn’t recognize it, so when I asked my mom what it was, she feigned confusion for about 10 seconds before she gave up and said, “I bought it for your birthday, I guess you get it early now.” She promised me I’d like it when I popped it into the VHS player, and she wasn’t wrong. I hadn’t watched this movie in over a decade and I still could recite the majority of the dialogue.
While this movie is a toned down significantly from the stage show, it is still fairly raunchy in parts. What is kind of hilarious to me is Grease’s gradual shift in categorization over time as a “kids musical”. In 5th grade, my sister played Sandy in her elementary school’s production of it. I asked if she remembered any of the lines they changed to keep things “appropriate” (the Kidz Bopification, if you will) and she responded, “No, I just thought it was weird I had to go out and buy a sexy outfit.” Conversely, my 5th grade play was about the history of America and I dressed up like Martha Washington. I’ll never forget the 50 Nifty United States from 13 original colonies... SHOUT ‘em, SCOUT ‘em, TELL all about 'em, ONE BY ONE till we’ve given a day to every state in the U-S-A. AL-A-bama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, CON-NE-TI-CUT...
Anyway, do I think it’s weird that a movie about a bunch of horny teenagers has become Baby’s First Adult Musical? Sorta. Not really. I mean, the dudes act like children for the majority of this, so I’m not surprised, at least. It had, for sure, turned me off from wanting to date high school dudes when I was in high school. The high school girls, however... we’ll get there.
It’s the first day of school, and the oldest high school seniors I’ve ever seen are poised to take on their last year at Rydell High. The “T” Birds and their very uncool matching jackets are reunited after a summer apart and their super-senior leader Kenickie, played by the late Jeff Conaway, regales the tale of lugging boxes to earn money for a sweet ride, which you could feasibly do back in the 1950s. Danny, played by John Travolta, spent his summer getting action at the beach, which he eloquently describes as “flippin’”.
Frenchy and her new neighbor Sandy rendezvous with the Pink Ladies, who have very cool matching jackets and the unabashed confidence to go with them. Stockard Channing, who plays Rizzo, is turned off by Sandy’s pure, seemingly holier-than-thou persona, and is dismayed when Sandy starts to describe her sickly sweet summer romance. Her interest is only piqued when Sandy mentions her hunky date was notorious playboy and Rizzo’s ex, Danny Zuko.
youtube
Sidenote: When I was a child, I thought Sonny asked if her “jugs were bigger than her nets”. I asked my mother what “nets” were, since I surmised that jugs meant breasts, and she didn’t know, which I thought was weird. It wasn’t until THIS MOMENT that I realized he was asking if her jugs were bigger than Annette’s. Who the fuck is Annette? Like the Mickey Mouseketeer Annette?! Rizzo sings about her later and I’m just like.. this revelation has lead to more questions than answers.
Rizzo hatches a plan to call Danny out on his shit and reunite Sandy with Danny at the school pep rally, as they know her boyfriend is an asshat. He predictably reacts maturely; Not wanting to admit his previous story of getting fresh with some cute Australian girl down in the sand was somewhat hyperbolic, he plays it off like he doesn’t give a shit about her, reducing Sandy to tears. Frenchy comforts Sandy like the supportive queen that she is and invites her to join the Pink Ladies at a sleepover.
Honestly, a Pink Ladies sleepover looks lit as fuck. As a kid (and now, tbh) I was Jan, I wanted to be Marty, I wanted to fuck Rizzo, and I wanted Frenchy as my best friend. I would totally be down to drink champagne, eat Twinkies and mutilate our body parts with needles. Sandy is a bit of a late bloomer and reacts to these series of events by puking. Rizzo decides to be a bit of a slag and make fun of Sandy for being an inexperienced virgin before shimming down a drainpipe to get laid by some jerk with a shitty car and a 6-year-old condom.
Sandy, whose night has done nothing to alleviate her heartbreak, sings a song about being in love with a coward. Part of the deal Oliva Newton-John signed to be cast in this movie specified she have her own solo number, so “Hopelessly Devoted” was written and filmed after the rest of the movie had been completed. This feel pretty obvious, since it gives off a very strong 1970s pop Best Original Song vibe. When I was a kid, I used this song as a break to use the bathroom or grab a snack, but as an adult I find myself humming it every so often.
Speaking of contract-obligated solos, we’re treated to a Travolta-led “Greased Lightning”, which I always thought was weird, cause like, who is going to sing a song about their friend getting tit in their sweet car? Jeff Conaway played Danny on Broadway, he deserved better... Also, I’m CONVINCED this song got the Pop-Up Video treatment, but couldn’t find it online anywhere. Otherwise, how the hell else would the fact that they thought John Travolta putting the saran wrap on his crotch was too racy live rent free in my head for like 20 years?
youtube
After encountering Sandy on a date with a jock, Danny decides he’s going to join a sports team to prove to her he can be a motivated team player. Instead, he just physically assaults several members of his school, but it’s fine because he’s wearing a uniform when he does it. This is enough to impress Sandy, as she accepts Danny’s invitation to the school dance.
The other gang members are going through their own drama, as Rizzo is sick of giving it up to Kenickie without receiving a modicum of respect.
“A hickey from Kenickie is like a Hallmark card. When you care enough to send the very best.”
Danny regresses and continues to act like a shithead to Sandy in front of her friends.
“I don’t like tea.” “You don’t have to drink tea!” “Well, I don’t like parents.”
Jan and Putzie begin an innocent and adorable romance, which proves it’s possible to start off a relationship with mutual respect, even if your friends make fun of you for it.
“I also think there’s more to you than just fat.” “...Thanks.”
I love this scene, there’s so many good lines.
Frenchy, who had dropped out of Rydell to pursue a career in cosmetology, is also in crisis as her stint in beauty school went very poorly. After hours, she somehow hallucinates Frankie Avalon advising her to get her high school degree.
youtube
As a child, I was so proud of myself when I realized all these women played other roles in the movie, as if facial recognition was an important skill.
The day of the big dance finally arrives, as National Bandstand comes to Rydell High with roofie-wielding predator and television host Vince Fontaine. Rizzo arrives with the leader of the rival gang, while Kenickie has his best girl, Cha Cha, as his date, because they are both very well-adjusted teenagers that know how to work through conflict by communicating and not using desperate attempts to make each other jealous. Danny and Sandy are cutting up a rug until Sonny attempts to physically assault Sandy, and Danny just lets it happen because another one of his exes, Cha Cha, starts to dance with him while Sandy is rebuffing Sonny’s advances. Cha Cha and Danny subsequently win the contest. Honestly, this is so fucked up, I would have dropped Danny after this lapse of good judgement.
But no, Sandy still allows him to take her on a date to the drive-in, and it’s not until he elbows her in the boob and then tries to cop a feel in front of everybody that she finally blows him off. Then he has the absolute gall to act emo about it because he’s afraid people will think he’s a loser. Jesus Christ.
Kenickie is also hurting, as he discovers that Rizzo is pregnant and she doesn’t want anything to do with him, regardless of what being an unwed mother will do to her reputation. He decides to process these emotions by racing Greased Lighting for pink slips, as he likes to live his life a quarter mile at a time. Unfortunately, Danny steals Kenickie’s thunder (road) yet again, as he’s forced to take his place in the race because of a car door-related closed head injury. Sandy is impressed by Danny’s driving skillz and decides to sex herself up for an unreliable and emotionally manipulative teenager. Danny has a similar inclination and decides to put on a nice sweater to win Sandy back, which is something, I guess. They declare they’re the one each other needs, oh yes indeed.
youtube
The school year ends, and all the boys end up paired with the girls. Rizzo finds out she’s not pregnant and reunites with Kenickie?! Marty ends up with Sonny even though he’s a handsy creep. Danny and Sandy are just an mess with incompatible expectations of each other. But at least Jan and Putzie and Frenchy and Doodie are fairly inoffensive. The end.
This movie is great, even all these years later. The entire cast is fantastic, even those with smaller bit parts. I was *living* for the school staff, Principal McGee and Coach Calhoun especially. Grease also jump started my lifelong love for Stockard Channing. She’s great in The West Wing, but her part as Sister Husband in Where the Heart Is may be my favorite performance of hers. I’ve watched that movie so many times I can’t even call it a guilty pleasure, I love it so much.
Olivia Newton-John wasn’t even sure she wanted to be in this movie and requested a screen test so she could see if she was good at acting. John Travolta was enamored with her and helped convince Olivia she was perfect for the part, and he wasn’t wrong. She gives such a strong performance as Sandy; I bought her transformation from clean-cut cinnamon roll to sexpot completely. John Travolta was also unbelievably charming as Danny, and I found myself giggling at his line deliveries constantly.
The songs are also unbelievably catchy (albeit somewhat annoying after you’ve heard them 700 times). Barry Gibb, my favorite Pras-adjacent composer, wrote the theme for the movie and it just bops so hard. As a well-documented detractor of Doo Wop music, there’s not a whole lot else here for me, but that’s not going to blind me to the excellence of this soundtrack. There is a reason this movie is revered as much as it is. 10/10, fun for the whole family, as long as the kids don’t understand the references.

Add a twink to the mix
Generated prompt: Eddie confesses to Buck that they have always been curious about what it would be like to have a threesome, so Buck , whether or not they have reservations (it's up to you), approaches a third party with the idea (C’s reaction is, again, up to you).

Eddie was never not satisfied with Buck in his life. When he says this man makes him feel good mentally and physically, he means it. And he also makes him feel good sexually.
Buck completes him, and is his perfect other half.
But some part of him, maybe the part of him who had wanted that good old experimentation, wanted to try something new. Something that, while they mentioned in passing, had never actually talked about in detail.
Threesomes.
It was something that had been on his mind lately, especially with the new Probie in the station. The idea of him sandwiched between Buck and Eddie. The idea of discovering a brand new body in the safety of a consensual and relaxed environment. Buck has never seemed to be close minded. He enjoys talking about things in the relationship, especially if it'll be fun and good for the two of them.
So with that, Eddie finally decides to sit him down and decides it's time to talk.
"So.. I was thinking about something lately and I don't want you to get mad. I just want to talk about it." Eddie says quietly, looking up at Buck who just smiles and rubs his knee encouragingly. "How do you feel about the idea of having a threesome?" He rushes out, biting his lip a moment, then looking up at him with buzzing nerves.
Buck blinks a few times, then he gives a small chuckle.
"'It's not cause I'm not happy with you. You make me so, so happy. But.. I wanna try that.. you know?" He says quietly. He feels almost stupid. Nearly 30 years old and he wants to "try it out?"
"Hey, no I understand. I would be lying if I said I hadn't thought of it. " Buck says with a chuckle. Eddie shrugs and smiles at him and Buck bites his lip. "Probie huh?"
Eddie flushes scarlet, but he nodded quickly.
"I don't know. The idea of having someone new between us.. I want to try that. And probie is just.." Eddie gives a little growl that makes Buck grin.
"He's definitely new. But you do know we need to talk to him about that right? And we know that Max is trans, so he's built different, and that might make him feel a litte awkward." Buck says, leaning back in his chair. He looks up from the table to Eddie's eyes. "But we'll take our time. If it's something you want to try or do, we will try to make that happen."
"You want it too, right? I don't want this without you." Eddie says firmly. Buck pulls him into a kiss as he stands up and strokes Eddie's back gently
"I definitely want this. Now let's get some dinner to eat. I'm hungry." Eddie nodded happily and kisses back.
'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'-'
Eddie looks over the railing to where Max and Buck were detailing the truck together. He can't help but chuckle slightly at the height difference between them. Buck is 6'2, and he's 6 even. Max is only 5'6 and he looks pretty short out of all the crew, accept Chimney who was similar height, if a bit taller. But Max easily holds his own, one of the determined kinds that is a strong, fast and effective worker. He fit right in with the crew here.
Max grins up at him when he notices him staring, waving and Buck looks up over Max with a small smirk and nod.
"Hey, Eddie and I are going out for a drink after work, and we wanted to know if you'd like to join?" Buck asks, and closes the hatch to the medical supply. Max perks and grins a bit.
"Hell yeah. That sounds fun." He went to say something else, but the alarm blares and they dash into action. Eddie now is dying for the end of their shift to come. The rest of the day was going to drag by, Eddie knew, but he could go hang out with Buck and Max at the end of the day. It would be worth the shift.
The last few hours slowly ticked by, but once it was over, Max was changing out in the locker room. Max was pulling on his tank top when Buck and Eddie saw the two top surgery scars on his chest. Max meets their eyes and hastily pulls the shirt down and grabbing his large sweater.
"You don't need to hide those. It's nothing to be ashamed of." Buck says, gesturing to the leg from the fire truck incident. "We all have scars." Max grins slightly and shrugs softly, pulling on a sweater.
"I'm still not used to them. It happened like almost 9 months ago but it's kinda surreal. Like.. from age nine I had boobs. Now... no boobs." He shakes his head and ties his hair off his face.
"Nine??" Eddie asks in disbelief. Max pulls a face.
"Early bloomer. Ridiculously early. It was hell." He says, gesturing to his hips. "You know what it's like having giant hips and thighs in 5th grade?? Its hell." Buck chuckles in surprise and covers his mouth with a sheepish look. "You can laugh that shit was funny."
Max drives behind Eddie's truck to head to the couple's favorite bar, the LA traffic being so slow it gave Eddie and Buck the chance to talk about how to approach it.
"We need to be casual. I mean, that's what this is. It's a casual hook up proposal. We'll have a little something to drink and ask Max what he thinks of threesomes. If its positive we'll figure it out." Buck says with a reassuring smile. Eddie nodded, smiling when Buck leans over to kiss his cheek. Max parked beside their truck, climbing out and adjusting his sweater sleeves. He was a little nervous, and he can't help but stare at the two men climbing out of Eddie's truck. Golden hour did them justice, and so did the tight jeans and very well fitting shirts. He doesn't like feeling intimidated, but he knows that these two are friends, coworkers, and there wasn't any reason to feel so anxious.
But he's still anxious nonetheless.
"Let's get inside. We need a wind down drink." Buck encourages, always the crowd motivator. Max nodded, a little tension falling away from his shoulders. A little drinking would be nice, something to take the edge off. They head inside, thankful that it's not super crowded, but the evening rush would pour in soon enough.
"Do you have a preferred drink?" Buck asks, bumping against Max as they head to a tall table top. Max shrugs absentmindedly.
"What do you guys get?" He asks, settling onto a bar stool.
"Just a beer or two normally." Eddie says, sitting beside him. Max pulls a face and sticks out his tongue.
"God y'all are gross." Max says, still shaking his head. "I know they have blue raspberry wine coolers." He says excitedly. Eddie chuckles and elbows him teasingly. "You can think what you want but at least I dont enjoy drinking overpriced dog piss." Max retorts with a raised eyebrow and a grin. Buck snorts a quiet laugh and goes up to the bar to order, declining Max's offer to pay.
Eddie liked the snark and fierceness that Max carries. Not even in a mean way, he was just expressive. Him and Buck had bursting personalities in common.
It doesn't take long for Buck to come back with three bottles and three shots.
"Shots?" Eddie asks, taking one off the tray.
"Hey it takes the edge off." Buck says with a huge grin. Max chuckles and grabs his.
"That's what the beer is for!" Eddie protests, although he wasn't exactly opposed.
"But it's a little extra." Max says, bumping shoulders. "Now, what are we cheering too. We gotta cheer to something." He says, grinning at Buck as he sits down.
"Cheers too... team work?" He suggests, and after a moment of laughing they cheers to team work and throw back their shots.
The conversation melted around them with ease, but Eddie still seems anxious. The idea of asking Max, who he wanted in more ways then one that question made him nervous but excited. Buck and Eddie made eye contact over their beers and nodded softly.
With the conversation full of boarder line flirting and sexual tension, Buck took his shot.
"What do you think of threesomes?" Buck tosses loosely, grinning softly. None of them were drunk, or even tipsy. But they were pretty relaxed and at ease. That made the conversation so much easier, and words flow easily.
"Never had one, but would totally have one." He looks between the two. "What about you two. You two are dating, so have you ever added a third before?" Max's tone went teasing, and he tried to force his ideas away. The idea that he could join and be the third, the idea of being touched by both of them, be in between them. Max shifted slightly in his seat and tries to keep away his blush.
"We're looking too." Eddie says bluntly. He puts an arm around Max and raises an eyebrow.
"Mmm.. So that wasn't just a question, and more of a suggestion?" Max knows the small amount of alcohol is making him feel bolder, but its not like he hasn't thought about this before. He shudders when Buck's hand glides to his inner thigh.
"It was definitely a suggestion." He growls quietly, hand squeezing his thigh. Max bites his lip and finishes his drink in one final swallow.
"I can drive and I'm ready to leave when you are?" Max says, looking between them and raising an eyebrow. Buck and Eddie share a quick look, and nod. All of them are then hopping off their bar stools and making their way to the exit. The bar was considerably more crowded, more rowdy, but outside the sun was set and the night are was cool. Eddie grabs Max by the hips and pulls him close with a smirk.
"Follow the truck." He says, voice gravely. Max nodded, feeling Bucks body press against his back. "See you soon."
Max fumbles with his keys to start his car, trying to calm his nerves and shifting his hips in his seat. He's way more excited then he expected.
He's able to drive, of course, but as he approaches Buck and Eddie's home, he anticipates what will happen once he's inside. Once he parks, he climbs out and locks the car, knowing he was a moment or two late. Eddie was standing there as Buck unlocks and opens the door. Eddie grins and takes Max's hand, pulling him inside.
The door shut behind them.
Max felt Bucks chest pressing against his back, his hands easily pulling the other into him. Eddie and Buck tower over Max, the heated kiss Eddie gave him taking all his breath. Eddie's hands were slipping under his sweater, under his tank top. With each touch, Max felt like his skin was being lit on fire, but in a delicious burning way.
"Let's get him upstairs, before you loose your mind." Buck says, tone teasing and deep. Max shudders, lips falling away from Eddie's with a click. Eddue leans up and nips Bucks mouth, their lips, teeth, tongue going after the other. Max rolls his hips against Eddie's thigh involuntarily at the sight, a small moan escaping him.
Bucks hand slips perfectly around Max's neck, pulling away from Eddie to kiss him as well.
"Upstairs." Max whispers against Buck's lips.
They stumble up, hands roaming, touching, grabbing, bodies tangling together as need filled each of them.
Max's legs hit the bed and he sits down, quickly pulling his legs up to sit on his knees. He grabs Eddie by his belt loops, pulling him close and beginning to one handedly undo his belt. Eddie yanks off his shirt, Buck settling behind Max and pulling off both shirts he was wearing.
"Fuck!" Max whispers, shuddering at the cold air hitting his skin. Buck places one hand on his stomach, the other on his neck and giving it a firm, but careful squeeze. Max finally, after months of dreaming, was experiencing the best moment of his life. He eases Eddie's pants down, but not his briefs. Not yet.
Eddie was Rick hard, leaking precum onto the cotton of his underwear. Max looks up at him with that look, sucking softly on the tip through his underwear.
Eddie's hands grip his hair hard, a guttural moan escaping him. Buck chuckles into Max's neck, biting and kissing the sensitive skin there. Max licks another strip along the clothes skin and smirks. Carefully he pulls off his briefs, lowering them down to his thighs and biting his lip at the sight.
"Fuck baby.." Max whispers, grinning up at Eddie. Buck chuckles and wraps a hand around Eddie's cock.
"He's so fucking good isnt he? But we don't want him to be the only one showing off, do we?" Buck asks. Max feels Buck shift back, and while Eddie fully shimmied out of his pants, Buck took off his shirt and pants.
"I didn't have bottom surgery." Max blurts when Eddie's hands start undoing his pant button. Eddie paused and looks up at him with a soft smile. He kisses Max softly and rubs his hips.
"That's okay. We're bi." Buck says, gripping his ass. Max shudders and nodded quickly. Eddie pulls off his pants and underwear, throwing the clothes somewhere over his shoulder. Max gets back on his knees facing Eddie and placing a kiss on the side of his cock. Buck settled right back behind him, hand slipping between his legs.
Max takes Eddie in his mouth, trying to clamp his thighs shut when Buck begin to tease him. Buck grabs his thigh and pulls them open. Eddie's fingers tangle in his hair again, pulling him close and Max takes him in willingly.
Soft moaning, whimpering filled the room, Buck perfectly content on watching Eddie take control of another person. Watching him being so dominant over another. Max, normally kind if stubborn, let them in without much protest. It made Buck feel warm, and once Eddie's hips begin to thrust frantically, Buck forces him to pull off.
"Dont want you to cum too early." Buck teases, carefully pumping two fingers in and out of Max. Without a distraction, Eddie's cock in his mouth, Max was focused solely on the feeling of Bucks fingers inside him.
He whimpers shakily, grabbing at Bucks wrist.
"Fuck.. Oh my God." He whispers, hips grinding down on the fingers inside him. Eddie grins and pulls Max to kiss him again. Eddie kisses him like he wants ri devour him. Teeth nibbling over his bottom lip, tongue fucking into his mouth. Eddie has his hand on his jaw, almost on his neck. When Eddie pulls away from the kiss, Max grabs his hand and moves it to his neck.
Buck chuckles at the sight, slowly adding a third finger. "You feeling okay?" Eddie asks, gently squeezing Max's neck. Max whimpers slightly at the stretch, squeezing Buck's wrist and his free hand still holding onto Eddie's arm.
"I'm okay." Max whispers, relaxing at the soft kisses from Buck on his shoulder. "I need more." Max whispers quietly, jerking when Bucks thumb strokes over the sensitive part of him. Buck grins and takes his fingers out, carefully rubbing over the sensitive nub, making Max arch into his hand. Eddie squeezes his neck, listening to Max moan shakily, Buck edging him close to an orgasm and taking his hand away.
"Fuck!" Max cries out, whining as he came down from the high he almost reached. Buck chuckles and turns Max around in his lap, back arched up facing Eddie. Max growls softly at Buck, who nips his neck and strokes a hand down his chest. Eddie slowly edges on the bed, lining up with his entrance, and carefully thrusting inside.
Max arches and gasps shakily, Bucks hand squeezing his neck firmly.
"Such a good boy.. Fuck your so good for us baby." Eddie growls firmly, thrusting a bit further inside. Max feels his brain melt into goo, body melting, thoughts fizzing out as he relaxes into the motions. Eddie was careful to have him adjust, Buck shifting back so Max could take him in his mouth.
Eddie didn't thrust roughly, just rolling his hips firmly and touching over his body, gripping his hips hard enough to make bruises, Max between them, taking what he's given, thighs trembling from each thrust. When Eddie's thrusts get harder, and his hand slips back between his legs, Max takes all of Buck into his mouth and loses it all.
Body trembling through his orgasm, Eddie thrusts only a few more times and pulls out in time. Buck tugs once on Max's hair as warning, before he releases inside his mouth. He's thighs shake softly and he arches a little bit, and moans in pleasure. Max takes it all, swallowing it all down and rocking into Eddie's hand.
The room is full of heavy breathing, everyone trying to keep touching the other person, sweaty and exhausted.
A calm settled over them, and Max carefully sits up with a small wince.
"Where are my clothes? I should probably get going." Max says, voice edging back into the awkward person they know too well.
"Hey.. no. Why don't we get a shower. Your staying here tonight." Eddie says lovingly. Max shifts, but an arm around his waist pulls him back into Buck's chest where he gets a soft kiss on the head and then his lips.
"You think we would want you gone?" Buck asks, hugging tighter.
"Well.. I don't know." He says softly.
"Wanna talk about what this will mean for us tomorrow?" Eddie asks lovingly, kissing Max softly. He nods and Buck picks him up to take him to the shower.
"I can walk ya known." Max protests.
"Not when we're here you can't."

we are bound by symmetry
Look. I’m not posting this on AO3 yet because it’s nowhere near ready for that, and I’m not currently, actively working on it. But. Enough people have now messaged me about it. This is the prologue of the Soulmate AU where they meet when Brienne is a student. I do wanna make it clear: the entire point is that they’re both very, very upset about the circumstances when they figure out what’s going on. Well, when Brienne does. Jaime is stuck in a personal nightmare from the first second. Because I am who I am. I’m also not putting this in the tag for the ship myself because I’m not about that angry emoji life.
(I would also looooooove to put this under a read more cut but I’m on mobile and if I don’t post it now I’ll try to forget I told someone I would.)
Prologue
Most people got their mark before they were eight years old. Almost half of those had them at birth, the others had to wait. Wait and hope that their soulmate simply hadn’t been born yet.
Neither Jaime nor his twin sister had their marks at birth. Nor when they turned eight years old. Their younger brother, Tyrion, had his by age two. Cersei threw a tantrum that not even Jaime could contain.
By the time they were twelve, they had come to the agreement that they didn’t want or need soulmates. They had one another. They were with another from conception. They would live their lives together. They would die together.
That all changed on a Thursday in the middle of September when a fourteen-year-old Jaime Lannister woke with a bright yellow sunburst on his shoulder. By the time he was twenty-four, a lion rampant had spilled down his arm, nearly to his elbow. At age thirty, crossed swords had appeared across the lion and sunburst, wrapping around his arm. Two years later, and three days before the start of the new semester, rubies developed in the hilt of the swords, matching multi-faceted red gems that were perfect reflections of each other.
--
The start of the school year was always just a special, special time. The flood of teenagers -- familiar and new faces alike -- ranging from apathetic to outright bitterness about the end of summer, always made Jaime question why, precisely, he thought teaching high school was a good idea. The rest of his family worked for his father’s company, Lannister, Inc., Cersei in marketing and Tyrion in finance. Jaime, in a fit of pique over Cersei’s engagement, pursued his passion.
The fallout from this decision was both bolstering and terrifying, with his father threatening disinheritance and his sister to never speak to him again. At that particular point in time, neither of those were exactly deterrents. The only supportive family member, as usual, had been his younger brother who simply clapped him on the shoulder and congratulated him on finally making a decision for himself.
There were moments, usually at the beginning and ending of the year, when Jaime thought maybe he should have stayed on the path to one day take over Lannister, Inc. Then he would either talk to his brother and be reminded of the tyrant that was Tywin Lannister, or the students would once again resign themselves to their fate of education.
His 12th grade class trundled into the classroom, most of the faces were familiar, but in the midst, one girl stood out. Quite literally. She was at least a head taller than any other students, boys included, with a face that wouldn’t make her any friends and shoulders that looked as if they were as broad as his own.
Jaime pitied her already. She was the new scholarship student, Brienne Tarth. Her academics would have been enough, but it was her track and field record that paid her way into the exclusive school. It was hard enough on new students coming into Red Keep College Preparatory. Most of the students had been together from kindergarten in the elite schools of King’s Landing. If not, they had at least been together since freshman year. To be a new student, and one that stood out like a sore thumb -- well, he wouldn’t trade places for all the money in the Iron Bank.
Then she walked past him.
He didn’t normally notice the legs of students -- he wasn’t Petyr Baelish -- but there, curled around Brienne’s pale calf was his mark. Their mark. There was no mistaking it. It was the same yellow sunburst and golden lion, the same crossed swords with rubies in their hilts.
Jaime couldn’t look away.
He’d known when the mark didn’t show up until he was fourteen that it would be a while before he met his soulmate. He hoped it would be. He’d put it to the back of his mind. Something to be addressed later. Hopefully not until his forties, when the age gap would seem less daunting.
It never crossed his mind to worry about a student.
In the few moments he had wondered about meeting the person when they were too young, he’d always comforted himself that it would be in some context where he could avoid them until they were an adult.
This -- this was a nightmare.
Jaime would have to see her nearly every day.
He would have to stare at her, become familiar with her face and voice and mind, and never acknowledge what they were to each other. Not for years.
When could it possibly be appropriate to tell a student or former student of yours that they were the other half of you, that you’d known for years. He would seem like a creep to everyone, even if they knew what the marks meant, how unavoidable the eventual consequences were. He might seem like a creep to her.
It wasn’t until she’d folded herself into a desk, tucking her legs away out of sight, that he blinked and came back to himself. He looked up at the rest of the class in a daze. It took far too long for his mouth to work again, his brain providing the rote, practiced welcome to a new year.
--
Brienne was born with the beginnings of her soulmark. A bright yellow sun wrapped around her delicate calf. By the time she was ten, the golden lion rampant had formed. She wondered, at the time, if that was the last of it, waited with bated breath to meet the person that would be hers and hers alone. It should have been some comfort to her that she never had to worry about whether her soulmate would exist, or whether she would be left to take the vows of the Seven, or simply be a lonely spinster in her later years.
Perhaps it would have been, if not for the cruelty of other children. The taunts of how unlucky her soulmate was, to be stuck with someone so ugly and dull. The speculations that her soulmate would be a pig or a bear, or a horse to match her own too-big, crooked smile and knobby knees. She even heard the whispers of adults, the pitying looks on their faces. Not pity for her, surely. Pity for the person saddled with someone so unfortunate.
Brienne dreaded the day she met the person that was her other half. There wasn’t a chance the person would be happy with her. No possibility he or she would be equally or more unfortunate than she. The only positive quality Brienne had was her ability to clear hurdles without effort. Not a difficult task, given that she was head and shoulders taller than every other girl in her classes from the time she was ten years old.
By her sixteenth birthday, the swords crossed over the center of her mark had formed. Three days before the start of her first year at Red Keep College Preparatory, rubies had appeared in their hilts. She wondered if maybe her soulmate would be another student. Maybe she would meet them by chance on the streets of King’s Landing, like out of a movie.
Or maybe her mark still wasn’t finished, would spread out until it covered her entire leg in promises.
--
Brienne didn’t expect this school to be any different. It wasn’t like she was suddenly going to find a school with people her height or people that didn’t notice her face or people that didn’t need to find the newest target when the old ones got boring. She knew coming in as a scholarship student to one of the most prestigious prep schools in King’s Landing was going to be a nightmare.
That didn’t make her first day any easier.
She knew from experience, the first day would also be the easiest. Everyone would just stare at her, taken aback by her height, or her lack of curves, or her straw-like hair, her twice-broken nose, her big teeth, whatever it was about her that shocked them the most. It was only the coming days and weeks she had to truly dread. It was always a toss-up what people would attack first.
Brienne knew to brace herself, knew how to throw up a wall of disinterest and reserve so that they had fewer things to latch onto. She’d stopped crying in bathroom stalls in 9th grade. It was all old hat by that point, there wasn’t any new material she hadn’t heard already. If she cried at night in her room, after dinner, when her dad thought she retreated only to do homework … well that was her business.
By the time her 5th period history class rolled around, and her first lunch sitting by herself had passed, her nerves had calmed enough that she was able to drift along. She no longer felt the eyes of everyone so acutely, had already tuned out the whispers and hushed giggling.
She kept her head down as she took a seat close to the door, but far enough back that no one would grumble about her head blocking the board. She tucked herself into the desk as best she could. They were never quite large enough to fit all of her limbs.
Brienne was still pulling her notebook and textbook out of her backpack when the teacher greeted everyone. His voice was deep, pleasant, and sent an odd frisson down her spine. Her eyes flicked up only to find one of the most ridiculously handsome men she’d ever seen in her life. For a moment, everything narrowed down to just him. He was tall with dark blond hair that was longer than one would expect from a teacher at this school, the longest strands just brushing the collar of his shirt. His jaw was clean shaven and sharp as a knife’s edge.
Then he looked at her. He looked her in the eye and froze for just a moment.
He was probably shocked at her appearance, like nearly everyone was. She knew she could be startling, but people normally didn’t go still like he did, just looking into her eyes for a second too long to be by accident. It wasn’t until he looked away that she could feel her heart hammering away in her chest and the gooseflesh over every inch of her skin.
When she grabbed her pencil, her hand was shaking.

|Rosie Cheeks| Richie Tozier x Reader
Chapter 3: Stealing is not good for my health
It was noon, and Rosie Hawthorne was laying in bed, still in her pajamas. After yesterday, Rosie has jumped at any and every sound. She did not leave her room yesterday and only came out for dinner. Rosie spent her time reading and sketching.
Right now, she was reading Little Women. She was so engrossed in the novel that she did not hear the door slowly open until she heard her door creak. Her head snapped up, eyes wide. Rosie let out a sigh of relief when she saw her father standing in the doorway.
Garrett Hawthorne was dressed in his uniform. He had been at the police station when he received a call from his wife, Lillian. Lillian Hawthorne had informed him that Rosie had not come out of her room to even eat breakfast. The mother was worried and had to get to work. So, she asked Garrett to come talk to their daughter.
“Hey, kiddo.” Garrett smiled gently. “Shouldn’t you be our, playing with other kids?” He sat down on the edge of Rosie’s bed.
“Dad, I’m thirteen, not seven. I don’t need to be out, playing with other kids as you put it.” Rosie closed her book, not before placing a bookmark to not lose her place. “What are you doing back?”
“Your mother called,” Garrett started but was cut off when Rosie scoffed.
“Oh, did she now?” Rosie crossed arms over her chest.
“Rosie, she’s worried about you.” Garrett said softly, trying not to provoke the tiger.
“Is that why she sent you, instead of coming here herself?”
“Kiddo, please.” Garrett sighed before continuing. “Let’s not have this conversation right now. We can talk about this later.”
“I don’t want to talk about this.” Rosie stood up from her place on her bed and got some clothes out of her closet. “I’m going out, to ‘play with children’.”
“Not before you eat something.” Garrett stood up from his spot and took his leave. Before Rosie could protest, he continued. “I’ll warm up the food.”
🎈
Rosie was standing in front of the pharmacy, dreading going inside. She hated how creepy Mr, Keene was, preying on young girls. Her mother had asked her to buy some things from the pharmacy and even though she did not want to, she still left her front porch.
Rosie was going over the list of things she needed when she came across Beverly. Beverly Marsh was standing, trying to decide between the various products in front of her. Rosie walked closer to Beverly and pointed at a certain box.
“I’ve seen my mom use these ones.” Rosie pointed at the box and saw Beverly jump in panic. “Sorry, didn’t mean to scare you.”
“No, thank you.” Beverly smiled at Rosie.
Rosie nodded at Beverly before she walked towards another aisle. There, she spotted Eddie Kaspbrak, Bill Denbrough, and Stanley Uris with Eddie grabbing at whatever he could get his hands on.
“Uh who died?” Rosie questioned. Eddie stopped in his tracks and stared at Rosie.
The two boys whispered things to Eddie who stayed quiet and still. Beverly came up behind Rosie and immediately hid a box behind her back at the sight of the three boys.
“Y-you okay?” Bill asked Beverly.
“I’m fine. What wrong with you?” Beverly questioned.
“None of your business.” Stanley jumped in before anyone could reveal anything. But Eddie started talking the second Stanley answered.
“There is a kid outside who looks like someone killed him.” Eddie said quickly while still holding the many things in his hands. He kept his gaze on Rosie. He trusted her. He had since she had defended him from Henry Bowers from bullying him that one time in 5th grade.
“W-we need some s-s-supplies, but we don’t have enough money.” Bill continued.
“Okay,” Rosie slowly said as she took in all the information the two boys gave her.
Beverly stared at the three boys intently as a plan formed in her head. She looked at Rosie and nodded her head where Mr. Keene most likely stood.
“I have a plan.” Beverly said as she walked forward.
Not five minutes later, the three boys and Rosie were running out of the pharmacy, trying not to bump into anything, but Eddie did not get the memo.
The four 13 year olds ran out of the pharmacy and towards the alleyway where she saw Richie standing with who Rosie recognized as the new kid. The second Richie saw Rosie, his hand went up in a wave and he called out to her.
“Hey hotstuff! Did you miss me already?”
“Oh yes. I totally did. Couldn’t get you out of my mind all night.” Rosie answered him as she stood next to him and watched Eddie get down to work.
“Really?” Richies eyes widened and a huge smile came upon his face.
“No.” Rosie answer him before she turned to the new kid. “Well that doesn’t look so bad ….” She started before she was cut off by Richie.
“Really? Because he looks like he’s about to die.”
“Richie. Shut up!” Rosie said to Richie before she turned back to the injured kid. “Don’t listen to him, new kid, Dr. Kaspbrak here will have you fixed up in no time.” Rosie gave him a sweet smile and bens cheeks burned bright red.
“Thank you. I’m Ben.” The new kids introduced himself to Rosie.
“Nice to meet you Ben. I’m Rosie.”
“I-I know. I mean, I’ve seen you around the school before.” Bend said before Richie put his arm around Rosie’s waist and pulled her into his side.
“Hey! Hey! You do not eye fuck her. Only I can do that.” Richie said as he pointed his finger at Ben with his free hand.
“How about no.” Rosie said as she removed his arm.
Richie moved a bit behind her, looked down, smirked, and then moved next to Rosie. The smirk did not leave his face until he started annoying Eddie.
“Suck the wound.” Richie said as he moved closer to Rosie, who did not pay him any attention and kept her focus on what was happening in front of her.
“I need to focus right now.” Eddie said as he put the bandage on Ben’s cut.
“You need to focus.”
“Yeah, can you go get me something.” Eddie
“Jesus. Um, what do you need?” Richie asked.
“Just get my bifocals.” Eddie replied. “I hit it in my second fanny pack.”
“Why do you have two fanny packs?” Stan questioned.
No one noticed as Bill left the group and moved outside the alleyway.
“I need to focus right now and it’s a long story.” Eddie answered.
“I’d like to hear that story. It sounds . . . . like it’d be an interesting one.” Rosie said as she watched Eddie take off the temporary bandage, they had put on Bens cut.
“Oh my god. Oh my god. He’s bleeding.” Stan said as panic was crawling up his skin. He moved away from the injured kid and his young doctor.
“Eddie, do something.” Rosie said as she moved away from the two, as to not get any blood on herself. She noticed Richie standing close to the two and pulled him back by his elbow.
“You don’t want to know who fucking did this?” Richie questioned Rosie, noticing she has not asked them much about what had happened.
“Oh, I have an idea.” Rosie answered before focusing back on Eddie and Ben.
“You have to suck the wound before you apply the bandage. This is 101.” Richie said as he pushed up his sliding glasses.
“You don’t know what you’re talking about.” Eddie said as he finished putting on the bandage on Ben.
“Are you okay? That looks like it hurts.” Beverly said as she walked up to the group with Bill behind her.
“Oh, no I’m good.” Bill said as he pulled himself up. “I just fell.”
“Yeah! Right into Henry Bowers.” Richie said before Bill told him to shut up.
“Why? It’s the truth.” Richie said in retaliation.
“You sure they got the,” Beverly started as a smirk came on her face, “right stuff, to fix you up?”
Ben smiles at what Beverly had said. Rosie looked back and forth between Beverly and Ben before she smiled. They will look cute together, Rosie thought.
“You know, uh, w-w-we w-will take care of him.” Bill said. “Thanks again, Beverly.”
“Sure,” Beverly said, “maybe I’ll see you around.”
“Yeah, w-we were thinking about going to the q-q-q-quarry tomorrow.” Bill started saying to Beverly. “If — if you wanna go.”
“Will Rosie be there?” Beverly questioned as she looked towards Rosie.
“Definitely!” Richie said as he threw his arm around Rosie’s shoulder.
“I don’t want this second-hand invite.” Rosie moved away from Richie. “I’d like a proper invitation, with flowers and chocolate. And make sure the invite is engraved.” Rosie says as she claps her hands together.
“I’ll get it all for you, hotstuff.” Richie says as he moves closer to Rosie. “Should I get you roses?”
Rosie have Richie a look as she tried not to smile at him. Everyone looked at the two and let out a laugh except for Eddie who glared at Richie. He did not want to lose the one friend he had made outside of the loser’s club.
Richie and his loud trashmouth will run her out of this town, Eddie thought.
Beverly turns around and walks towards the open road before Rosie called out to her.
“Hey! Red! Wait for me!” Rosie shouts and Beverly stops in her tracks. “I’ll see you guys later.” Rosie waves at the five boys and runs after Beverly.
The two girls loop their arms together and turn to the main road. The brunette and the ginger walk towards Beverly’s house, chatting about nothing important. They reach Beverly’s house and the two say goodbye, but not before promising to call each other later.
Rosie walked home with a smile on her face. She was happy she had made friends with Beverly Marsh and the five boys. Rosie was almost home until she realized she had forgot to buy the supplies her mother had asked her to.
At the thought, Rosie did a U-turn and ran all the way to the pharmacy, where she found the boys, still at their spots, performing surgery on Ben.

My Summer From Hell: A Tale of Friendship
Fandom: It (2017)
Pairing: Eddie Kaspbrak/Richie Tozier (minor mentions of Richie’s crush on Eddie)
Rating: T (for language)
Words: 2.9k
Movie canon-compliant. Also posted on AO3. This is that summer experience essay Richie warned us about.
“Richie Tozier?”
Richie takes a reluctant break from the sick-ass game of MASH: The Wonder Years Edition he’s playing by himself in his algebra notebook to look up at his teacher, who is waving a blue note and glaring expectantly at him.
Blue note. That means Neil wants to see him. Damn, only five days into the school year! New—actually, not a new record. Richie feels like he and the principal should be on a first-name basis by now; Richie’s in his office a lot. He rarely gets punished because most of the things he does toe the line of punishable offenses magnificently—he usually just gets told to stop doing whatever it is he’s doing and then gets sent back to class. If he was down there getting detention every other day, he’d understand what the problem was. But alas, Neil shot down the suggestion of being called Neil right away. So they can only be on a first-name basis in Richie’s head. Too bad.
The Math and Science building is as far away from the Administration building as you can get without leaving Derry Junior High, and Richie takes his time during the walk to Neil’s office, stopping outside the computer lab until Eddie catches sight of him through the window. He makes a gesture that causes Eddie to give him a surreptitious middle finger, hidden from his teacher by the monitor, but his cheeks also bloom cherry red, so Richie counts it as a win because it’s the cutest goddamn thing he’s seen all day. It feels like every other day now Richie’s being hit in the face with how adorable Eddie really is. He’s torn between wanting to pinch his cheeks and kiss him on the mouth, and frankly he’s mostly still straddling the fence on that issue only because he doesn’t want to deal with the answer.
In contrast to having a pretty good idea deep down what direction things are headed in regarding his general feelings about Eddie, Richie has not the slightest clue why he’s being called to the principal’s office the Friday after school started. None of the things he’s done should have been discovered yet. It makes no sense.
Bill is in the computer lab too, and Richie can’t see him from where he’s sitting, so he heads over to the staircase at the end of the hall. Pausing to make sure no teachers are lurking around to give him shit for it, he sits down at the top of the railing and slides down. Actually, he slides about a fourth of the way down before falling off and sort of rolling the rest of the way, but no one saw that so it still counts as a success.
He walks past the yard to watch Stan and Ben running the mile in P.E. Stan is fucking booking it, and Richie dawdles long enough to figure out that he’s a lap ahead of everyone else. Running away from Bowers for a few years will do that to ya. Well, at least it will if you’re Stan. Richie still can’t run an 8 minute mile, so his P.E. grade has stagnated at a B-.
Richie stops in the middle of the hallway in the Language Arts Building, glancing into Mr. Tremblay’s French 1 class. Bev was planning on taking that this year, and she’d be in there if she hadn’t moved to Portland. Sometimes—and Richie hates thinking about this because there’s no use in dwelling on it—but sometimes he really wants to kick himself for not getting to know her sooner. She’s the best bro he’s ever had that’s a girl, and it just really sucks ass that they only got to hang out for like one summer.
Before he even realizes it, he’s walking into the front office. Bertha glances up at Richie through her horn-rimmed reading glasses.
“Mr. Tozier! What’d you do this time?” she asks brightly. Ah, Bertha. She and Richie have a rapport. Richie might go so far as to say she even likes him, at least a little. He’s made her laugh at least seven times, and once in sixth grade she told him he had a real gift after he showed her his best Rick Moranis impression. She doesn't bullshit him, and he doesn’t bullshit her. Well, not very much at least.
“I have no idea,” he tells her honestly, resting his elbows on her desk, which is decorated with a rubber band ball, a Hoberman sphere, several pictures of her nieces and nephews, and the biggest Hershey’s Kiss Richie has ever seen in his entire life. Seriously, it’s almost as big as his goddamn face. Apparently, she got it on a trip to New York, and she’s had it at least as long as Richie has known her. He has never wanted to eat a thing so badly in his entire life, regardless of how old it is. It’s a fucking Hershey’s Kiss. Do those things even go bad? Either way, it’s Richie’s number one goal to take a big fucking bite out of that thing before he culminates at the end of the year. He’s a thousand percent sure it will taste like sweet victory.
“Neil?” Bertha calls over her shoulder. “Did you send for Richie Tozier?”
Neil’s voice floats back through the open door behind Bertha. “Oh, yes. Thanks, send him on back.”
Neil’s desk always starts the year looking pristine, and by the last day of school it is filled with stacks of pure chaos. Richie admires him for trying again at the beginning of each year. It’s like how his mom buys him a binder for each class and book covers and sets up an organizational system for his homework and notes despite knowing that it won’t last a month. It’s nice of her to try, but Richie is pretty sure they both go into it with the understanding that it’s kind of a hail Mary situation.
So right now Neil’s just got like three pictures of his wife, a snowglobe with GREETINGS FROM ST. PAUL written on the base, and a manageable-looking stack of papers in file folders. Godspeed, sir.
“Mr. Tozier,” Neil says by way of greeting, “please have a seat.”
“How was your summer, Ne—Principal McCormack?” Richie asks, plopping down into the chair directly opposite Neil.
Neil’s eyebrows raise. “Not as interesting as yours, based on what I heard from Ms. Pfarrer this afternoon,” he says, reaching into his desk and pulling out two pieces of lined paper stapled together. “Care to explain?”
He places it directly in front of Richie. Richie peers at it. The top right corner reads: Richie Tozier, English 8A, Period 4, September 3, 1989. It wasn’t stapled when he handed it in, he’d just sort of folded the corners over together and hoped for the best, but Ms. Pfarrer must have gone ahead and stapled it for him.
“That would be yesterday’s English homework.”
“Correct,” says Neil. “I want you to read this entire essay out loud to me, and then I’m going to ask you some questions. Okay?”
Richie’s not sure if the questions are about the contents of the essay, or if Neil just can’t read his handwriting. Then again, that sounds like a Ms. Pfarrer problem; he’s not sure why she’d bring it to the principal if she just couldn’t read it. Normally she just hands it back to him and tells him to rewrite it when that happens, or at least that’s what she did last year. If his teachers have suddenly decided to send him to the principal every time he turns in an illegible assignment, it’s going to be a very long year.
But whatever.
My Summer From Hell: A Tale of Friendship
If you had asked me at the end of last year what the worst thing about my summer would probably be, I would have bet a hundred bucks it was going to be the trip I took down to Augusta to see my grandma two weeks ago, which sucked. All we did was watch Matlock all week and she made me get a really shi bad haircut, just like last year. It’s going to take me months to grow it out. But compared to what went down in July and the beginning of August, eating soup at Grandma Dottie’s house was NOTHING.
You know how kids just disappear off the face of the earth all the time here in Derry? If you didn’t, that’s a fun fact from me to you that I learned from my new friend Ben (he’s in your 5th period class). Well, while we were looking for my other friend Bill’s missing brother, we found out where they all went.
Underneath our feet, down in the sewers, there lives a killer clown. That’s right, you heard it here first. Like John Wayne Gacy, but 100000x worse because it’s for sure not human. Sometimes It’s a clown, sometimes not. Depends. On what? I have no idea. It was usually a clown when I saw it but one time it started turning into maybe a werewolf. It can turn into anything it wants and it eats kids.
Anyway, It almost killed all of us on the fourth of July. We Bill decided to go try and fight It at the creepy ass house on Neibolt street, and that was an absolute shit show disaster. Ask Ben to show you the sick scar on his stomach if you don’t believe me. Eddie fell through a giant hole in the floor and broke his arm. I got mad at Bill for bringing us all there and he punched me in the face, and then I didn’t talk to him for a month.
Then It dragged Beverly Marsh into its nasty sewer lair and we all went down the grossest well in Derry to get her back. Henry Bowers followed us because he just has to ruin everything, even things that are already the worst. There’s this giant cistern that has a huge pile of broken toys and crap and the clown lives in there. There were hundreds of dead kids floating in the air.
It’s a long story but I beat the shit crap out of It with a baseball bat and we fought it back. We swore to each other that we’d all come to fight It again if it returns. Anyway, the moral of this summer is that you can achieve anything if you work together and also that there is no way Henry Bowers could have caused an explosion during the 1800’s. I want to see him go to jail for taking a dump in my backpack for sure, and I guess for killing Belch, Vic and his dad too, but I know for a fact that he didn’t kill Georgie Denbrough or Betty Ripsom or Ed Corcoran. This town is just cursed.
Richie looks up brightly at Neil when he finishes reading. Neil takes a deep breath and rubs his temples with his fingers.
“I’m not sure you understood what the assignment was, Richie,” he says. “This is an inventive—and deeply disturbing—story, but this was supposed to be about what you actually did over the summer, not—”
“Yeah,” says Richie. “It is. I mean, I didn’t think Ms. Pfarrer was going to actually read them all. But—”
“This was a nonfiction assignment though.”
Neil’s being real slow on the uptake. Maybe his brain is still on summer break.
“Yeah,” says Richie, nodding. “As in, this is what actually happened to me. Here’s where we swore we’d come back and fight again when we’re old. If It comes back.” Richie holds out his left hand so Neil can see the freshly healed scar.
“Ouch,” Neil winces. “How did you get that?”
Richie rolls his eyes. “I cut it on glass. On purpose. Go get the others—they’ll tell you. Eddie Kaspbrak, Stanley Uris, Bill Den—”
“Please stop with the games,” says Neil. “Just—I’ve had a long week. We all have. Ms. Pfarrer wanted me to look into sending you to the school psychologist. I know you like to, you know, do what you do, but this is taking it too far.”
“Why would I lie to you about this?” Richie asks. He puts both elbows on the desk and leans forward. “Seriously. Why?”
“Attention-seeking behavior is common after the kind of trauma we’ve all experienced over the past year,” Neil says. Super patient, like he’s quoting a textbook and speaking to a preschooler. “I know what happened with Henry was a surprise to—”
“Wait, wait wait,” Richie interrupts. “You think I wrote this to get attention?”
Neil sighs and throws up his hands. “I can’t think of any other reason. If there is one, I’d love for you to give me some insight.”
Honestly? How fucking dare he. It strikes Richie in that moment how goddamn unfair this is. They had to do this with everyone—from explaining those nasty bites on Stan’s face to Eddie being grounded for the rest of the summer, to knowing exactly why there were so many more bodies in the sewer than missing kids from this past year and no one believing them…
“How about this for insight? ” Richie says. “I’ve been through too much trauma this year to come up with another bullshit story that all you adults will eat up. None of you care what actually happened; you just want me to tell you something that means you don’t have to do anything about it. Well, you’re gonna have to come up with your own lie to tell yourself. I’m not doing it for you.”
Neil is gaping. But Richie keeps going.
“I thought it was Bowers before this summer and honestly, I wish I’d been right. And it’s not like I’m sorry that he’s getting all this shit pinned on him even though he didn’t do it. My life is a million times easier without him around—he can get strung up by his ballsack for all I care.”
“Richie, there’s a mountain of evidence against—”
“I don’t give a shit about evidence,” says Richie. “I know what I saw. I know what happened. I know, and Bill knows, and Stan knows, and Bev… What do you care though? You’ll probably be dead anyway by the time It comes back.”
“Is that supposed to be some kind of threat?” Principal McCormack asks. His face has gone hard and stony like Richie’s never seen before; like Richie has crossed a real line this time. Somewhere in the back of his mind, he knows there’s going to be nasty consequences for this, but he can’t find it in himself to give a shit.
“You wouldn’t believe me even if it was,” Richie mutters. “Just… Fuck it. Send me to the school shrink or whatever. Give me detention; flunk my essay. None of this shit matters anyway.”
“You can bet you’re getting all three of those things,” says Principal McCormack with a mirthless chuckle. “And I’m not sure what’s gotten into you this year, but I feel like—”
“Do I sound like the grownups in Charlie Brown when I talk?” Richie demands. “Seriously, am I making like, actual words to you? Or are you just hearing wah wah wah when I—”
“I’m calling your parents,” Principal McCormack says over him. “Is something going on at home?”
Richie feels blood pounding through his veins. Like it could melt his skin. He looks Principal McCormack dead in the eye, reaches for his essay and tears it to shreds, standing slowly.
“In the end,” he says, his voice shaking and frustrated tears threatening to overpower him, “it’s not going to make any difference if you don’t believe me. We’ll come back, all of us. Me and Eddie. Ben, Beverly, Mike. Bill. Stan. What you think doesn’t change that.”
And as suddenly as it came, the anger evaporates. Just...poof. Gone. It clears, and there’s fucking gobsmacked Principal McCormack sitting there like a lump, staring at Richie. Maybe he heard the individual words, but one thing Richie know for sure: he still doesn’t get it. And he never will. And not just him; Ms. Pfarrer. Even Bertha, whether she thinks Richie is gifted or not. And his parents…
There’s a sick loneliness that kind of creeps in to fill up where his anger was, colder than a January wind. Every time his dad comforted him as a kid, when he’d check under the bed and in the closet for monsters, was a lie. When his mom told him he’d be safe sleeping in their bed. That nothing was coming to get him. That they’d never let him get hurt. Lies, all of it. And it’s not like the adults in his life are lying to him on accident. The truth is right there in front of their stupid fucking faces and they just refuse to look at it.
The chill settles into a stony sort of resolution. Richie has stared the truth in the face and didn’t flinch. Even getting suspended is fucking nothing compared to… Whatever. He’s getting detention anyway. Might as well make it memorable. He turns on his heel and walks out of the office.
“If you’re still alive in 2016,” Richie calls over his shoulder, “I’ll hit you up at your nursing home and let you know I was right all along.”

Imagine... [a pseudo ficlet]
Imagine that Lena is a touch-know.
Imagine, if you will, a young Lena Luthor who feels the full force of her mother's resentment whenever Lillian touches her skin.
Imagine young Lena in a house that's stood for six generations, walking the halls with her hands tucked under her arms lest she learn any more of the secrets that hide in its walls.
Imagine Lena at boarding school, abandoning her gloves when the teasing gets to be too much. Imagine how she tries not to touch anyone, but inevitable moments of contact shows her fragments of her peers' lives-- their hardships and secrets and neglect.
Imagine how that constant stream of negativity must slowly infect her, until she adopts the same cutthroat mentality of her peers. Think of that moment, in 5th grade, when Cindy Ryan starts monopolizing the attention of Lena's best friend, Adam.
Imagine that moment when Lena, with a school's collective nastiness roiling inside her head, pulls out Cindy's diary for the world to see.
The diary is fake, but the secrets are true, and Cindy's stunned confusion at how Lena could possibly know is enough for the others to believe. Adam thinks it's a riot, and quotes the diary at Cindy until she transfers out mid year.
Lena forgets Cindy for almost a decade, before they run into each other just after graduation, at a club in Metropolis. Somewhere in the massive crowd is a mutual acquaintance, and Lena, desensitized by the presence of so many people pressing in around her, shakes her hand in polite, if forced, greeting.
The white hot hatred that pours from her skin clashes against the pleasant, easy smile curling Cindy's lips. It crawls up Lena's nose and fills her mouth with the acrid taste of vomit as she sees the nights Cindy spent over the toilet, sick with dread and anxiety. It thunders against her ears in the voice of Cindy's father berating her for not being able to stomach the words of a few stupid girls and damning her proclivity for blabbing family secrets to the entire school.
All the fear and rage and hurt swirls and swirls and in the center of it all is Lena's own face, wearing the cruel smirk of that day in 5th grade.
Lena rips her hand away and bolts. She staggers home and vomits herself, puking and sobbing into the toilet bowl. Lex laughs at the antics of new grads and hands her a towel. The next morning, Lena pulls out all her old gloves. None of them fit, so she wears her winter gloves in the dead of a Metropolis summer to the store and buys out their entire section of elbow length gloves.
She bundles up and covers all the skin she can. She claims illness until people stop asking. She stops clubbing and sticks to her lab, where everything is new and without memory.
Over weeks, then months, then years, through summers and college and grad school, Lena slowly reclaims herself. The taint of her classmates fade, until all that's left is her shame and Cindy's lingering hate, which becomes her own.
She isolates so well that when Lex's arrest is announced, it's a complete and utter shock. She visits him every week, as the company and her world shakes under her feet.
Every visit, she asks.
"Did you do it?"
Every visit, he responds.
"Of course not, ace."
And every time, Lena swallows the lump that rises to her throat.
"Say it so I believe you."
By the end of the trial, Lena's given up hope. She doesn't need to touch a thing to see where the jury's leaning, or the way Lex unravels as he realizes the same.
On her final visit, the day before closing arguments, Lena asks one last time.
"Did you do it?"
Lex's response is to lurch forward and grip her naked cheeks in his bare hands, leaning so close she can smell the toothpaste on his breath.
"You tell me."
Years of images crash over her in the time it takes the guards to wrestle him away from her. She slumps against the table, gasping as scenes of carnage flash behind her eyes, the cockpit of the Lexosuit, Superman's snarling visage as the hero pummels her over and over, driving the breath from her lungs.
She's screaming when the prison comes back into focus, and Lex is dragged from the room
Lena doesn't go to the courthouse for the verdict.
She knows what it will be. She knows what it should be.
Guilty. Guilty and guilty and guilty and guilty and...
When the board thrusts the company at her, so she can hold the reins while LuthorCorp gallops full tilt towards the looming precipice, Lena accepts on one condition: she won't watch the company die.
If she gets control, then she keeps control when the stocks recover and then rise. She vows to reach new heights. Maybe it'll be enough to wash the blood from her nightmares.
National City is... unpleasant. Too warm for gloves, no matter how light. But she pulls them on every morning, rolls up her sleeves, and gets to work.
When she meets Kara Danvers, the reporter doesn't bat an eye at the gloves. She's the first interviewer not to ask about them. Lena waits for the inevitable curiosity, as acquaintance slowly turns to friendship-- but it never comes.
Her first game night, Lena discovers just how affectionate Kara is with her friends. Touches and hugs and leans on the couch. But never with Lena. It's a stark realization. Lena tries and fails not to be hurt, for suddenly feeling on the outside.
The hurt turns to chagrin when she sees Kara reach for her hand at their next lunch date, only to turn aside at the last minute, grabbing a napkin instead. It's so smooth Lena would have missed it if she hadn't been so on edge after game night. Only then does she realize: the lack of affection isn't a lack of affection.
It's respect for the boundaries Kara perceives in her long gloves and instinctive habit of curling in on herself.
Relief drives Lena to break the pattern. As Kara leaves, Lena reaches out to grasp Kara's wrist.
"Thank you for inviting me the other night," she says honestly. "I had a great time."
Kara's smile is blinding. Her hand covers Lena's, and even through the glove the touch is warm. It shoots a bolt of delight through Lena's sternum, and the last of her doubts drift away. The touches soon become a matter of course. Always soft, always through fabric, as though Kara sees exactly what she is and accepts her in sum.
And for now, it's enough.

Your Number
Original story A/N: First Chapter is done! Thank you to my beta, @PeterJamesRainford for helping me with my grammar!
Josh's POV~
Just like any other day, today, I woke up, got dressed, and headed out the door to my car. Exactly why do we need to wake up at 6:00 am for school? I need my beauty sleep!
Parking my car in front of my high school and grabbing my book bag I started heading inside to the hell of a place we call, school, AKA prison. Walking toward the doors, I hear my name being called from behind me. Turning around, I see my best friend Evan, my friend since the 5th grade.
"Hey Dude, wait up!" Evan was running as fast as he could to catch up with me. He's a clumsy kid so, as he ran, Evan tripped and stumbled over a bunch of Freshmen before he finally caught up with me.
We walked inside the front doors to the school and headed down the hallways to first-period Geometry, my least favorite class. We sat down in our assigned seats, recognizable by the large name cards with everyone's names on them, while the teacher explained what we were going to learn today.
All of a sudden a kid I have never seen before rushed pass the door. He was on the smaller side with short brown hair and had on a t-shirt and a pair of jeans, just like almost every other boy at school. He struck me as the cute and shy type. The teacher stopped mid-sentence and turned to the new kid.
"Hi, my name is, um, I'm Ethan, and I'm, um, new here." He said in a small voice, obviously nervous. This kid was timid but adorable, I thought while the teacher gestured to take the seat right behind me. He awkwardly walked in between students, managing to knock someone's backpack off their chair, as he went to the desk the teacher told him to sit down at. This utterly dull class might just be interesting after all, I thought, shooting one last look at the boy behind me.
Lunchtime finally rolled around, and I dove into the crowd of loud teenagers stampeding towards the large double doors. I scanned the cafeteria, trying to find my group of friends. Before I could locate them, someone caught my eye; the new kid from Geometry. I picked my brain trying to remember what his name was. Edward? No, that wasn't right. Elijah? Not that one, either. Eric? No, it was Ethan. As my eyes trailed after him as he was in line for food, I felt someone tap me on the shoulder. I turned my head, and my vision was temporarily obscured by my friend, Dan. His messy, dark brown hair was everywhere, like always and even though he was just under an inch shorter than me, he somehow managed to seem taller with just his personality.
"Oh hey, Dan what's up?" I shifted awkwardly, "Nothing? Cool. Let's go get a table ok, bro?" I said in an awkward voice trying to push him to the door that leads to a few tables outside as well as trying to pretend I wasn't staring at the new kid.
"Dude, what girl are you staring at that's causing you to blush that much?," he askes, while trying to find the girl I was staring at. Blushing? I was definite I wasn't blushing, I thought as my neck started to flush more red in embarrassment. Especially since I was not looking at some hot chick, but Ethan, who was a guy and positively not hot or female.
As I kept attempting to get him to the back of the lunchroom by jabbing him, nicely, I saw Ethan walking trying to find a table and looking lost. I mean how could I just let him sit alone? Nice people would let him sit with them. I'm nice. Not at all looking at him in a not dudebro like fashion. Of course not.
"Hey, Ethan!" I practically yelled as my arms started to move on their own volition. As I was waving like a lunatic, I gathered the attention of some people nearby, making my flush reappear. Ethan did a double take and looked around as if there was someone else named Ethan behind him. He seemed to realize I was talking to him and battled through the throng of students, towards Dan and me. His face was red, and I could tell he felt embarrassed about being called out like that which made me even more embarrassed than I was about practically my entire life at the moment.
Quickly sitting down, making room for Ethan, who sat on the same side as me, right next to me. For some reason, my feelings of embarrassment didn't feel like going away, and my blush just kept darkening the longer Ethan was there. Which was weird and not dudebro etiquette.
Thankfully no one noticed my weirdness as we all unwrapped our lunches, mine was a turkey cheese sandwich with chips and a slice of my mom's homemade banana nut bread. Since I was the one who had the unscheduled outburst to invite Ethan over to our table, I had to be the one who introduced him to the rest of the guys, Dan, Evan, Joe, Leo, Chris, and Austin. They all said their introduction to Ethan, and we all talked.
To me, it was going pretty good. Ethan was included in conversations, and I stopped worrying about the impression I made on Ethan and my friends. The end of lunchtime came rather quickly for my liking, not because of any particular reason besides food and friends of course and Evan and Dan got up to -go somewhere-.
Let me get this straight, Evan and Dan are not. It's clear that they either are together or the two most oblivious pinning duo you can meet. They literally stare at each other for -hours- and are very touchy-feely with each other. More than dudebros do.
We waved goodbye, and they trotted off to wherever they were heading to.
The rest of the day passed by slowly, with me glancing at the clock every few minutes and each teacher droning on and on about his or her subject which was equally as mind-numbing as each teacher.
"Hey, Josh!" Someone called from behind me. I turn around and see Evan trying his hardest to get to me in the crowded hallway of the High school. He got elbowed in the ribs and decked in the face as he struggled. When he finally caught up with me, he flat out fell on his face because he's Evan and can't get anywhere without either falling or bumping into objects and people, but I still love him. Platonically. As dudebros.
"Yeah, what's up," I said guiding Evan to our last class of the day which we both have together, gym. Somehow he managed to still get hurt as a teacher flung open his door a slam it right on Evan. He, of course, just shook it off and continued with our conversation,
"Hey, are you going to Jenna's party later tonight?"
I was momentarily taken aback by the sudden change in topic,
"Oh, um, maybe. I don't know." I say. I only go to these parties sometimes, it can get a bit crazy as the night goes on.
"Come on man you need to come! He whined, hugging my middle, "Please." he pleaded, giving me the dreaded puppy-dog eyes. Like dude, don't give me those puppy-dog eyes in the middle of the hallway. They are dangerous.
I relented, "Okay, okay, fine. But we are only staying till eleven, and I am driving." If I didn't, he'd intensify those adorable puppy eyes. I was not emotionally prepared for the intense Evan puppy-dog eyes.
We approached the boy's locker room just laughing and talking. That is until I walk through the doors and notice that Ethan is in this gym period. He was currently taking off his shirt, and I felt my face and neck start to heat up again. Maybe it was just hotter in the locker room that the hallways.
I quickly just take off my shirt and change, trying not to look at Ethan too much or reveal to Evan that I was this flushed because of the heat. He'd probably think I was blushing for some reason. Which I wasn't. Blushing, that is.
"Okay, boys hurry it up!" I hear the gym coach yell as he leaves the locker room to head to the gymnasium.
We all pull on the rest of the gym uniforms and walk out, but just as I started walking, I️ accidentally walked straight into Ethan.
"Oh. Um, sorry." I say trying to not sound awkward or stupid. Because he was new here and I didn't want to scare him off a potential friendship. Yep. That was it; didn't want to chase away a friend in the making.
"Oh, no problem it's cool." He says with his head down, and I can see a little blush creep up his cheeks. Probably from the heat. That was from the gym. It was torrid in there.
To diffuse the silence that came over us, I decided to talk. Which I should probably stop doing. Maybe Evan could find the off button or just mute me around Ethan because I just can't seem to stop talking.
"So, I'm going to this, um, party tonight. Would you like to go?" I say before I realize what just came out of my mouth. Party. Me. Ethan.
Well, that wasn't what I was supposed to say. Probably. Actually, I was planning on not running my mouth, but here I am. Talking. To Ethan. Again. I should get a head start on the off switch or the mute button.
He looks up slightly, so his side eyes meet mine. The two of us continue to flush because of the sweltering heat inside of this school. I should ask what that's about. Maybe get a few air conditions installed in this place.
"Oh, um, okay, sure, but I don't have a car," he says quietly, and now his face is completely red. It's actually kinda boiling in here at the moment, someone really needs to bring the entirety of Alaska to cool down the room. And I look down at Ethan can't help to smile.
"Oh, that's no problem. I'll drive you, and I'm taking one of my other friends Evan, as well anyways." I say smiling again because he has actually agreed to go, which was an amicable thing to do. Because he is new. I'm his friend. I'm helping him get to know other people and this will be good happy friend times.
"Here's my number," I say, taking out a sharpie from my pocket and writing on his wrist. Our phones were left in the locker room, per school protocol. We ended up awkwardly standing next to each other and me trying not to stare at him until the coach blew his whistle.
Gym period is one of those classes where people who play sports even look stupid. Today the coach made us do rope climbing and badminton. I know those two don't go together but it's gym, so I can't really understand the logic of it either, but we have to do it anyway.
The rope climbing went awfully as always. I was one of the first to go up the rope even though I was hiding behind a bunch of other people. Coach just likes to choose the people who don't want to do things first. I slowly walked to my death as everyone just gave me sympathetic looks knowing all of our fates. I reached the rope and tried my hardest to lift myself up but fell. I stood up again and got maybe 4 inches off the ground and just gave up. So let's say nope, not going to be a professional rope climber. Is there even a professional rope climber? At least I did a little better than Evan, he just swung and fell so I can say that.
I pretty much just ran out of school after the bell rang, not even bothering to change, to get to my car because it was Friday and that meant no school for the next two days. Hell, yeah! As I got in my car to put my key and start up the engine, I heard someone bang on the window I turn over and see Evan just standing there, also in his gym clothes.
I rolled down the window so he could hear me, "Dude, what are you doing?" I asked confused.
"I'm going home with you until we leave for the party." He says like I knew about this the entire time. I waved my hand to gesture him to come on in, and we headed out of the school parking lot.
Once we got to my house and walked in, we realized we had a few hours to just chill and eat some snacks. I instantly dropped my book bag and raced to the cupboards to grab some chips and Evan fiddled with the PlayStation. We ate and played some video games in the living room as we chatted about whatever.
"So, what do you think of that new kid? His name was like John or something?" Evan asked, eyes never leaving the screen.
I instantly felt my face start to become red. Seriously what's going on with me today? Maybe there was a heat wave or something. Maybe my house also hat a heating problem.
"Yeah, he seems pretty cool. I guess." I say while grabbing another chip out of the bag that Evan has been hogging the whole time.
"Aren't you bringing him to the party with us tonight?" He askes while beating me again in the game. He reminded me I have to text what his address is. I pull out my phone out of my pocket and look for any recent texts.
