8 Israeli Troops Killed In Lebanon, Netanyahu's "Axis Of Evil" Warning
Israel today conducted fresh strikes in Beirut, killing at least six people, a day after its eight soldiers were killed in combat operations in Lebanon, marking the first losses since its forces crossed the border to target Iran-backed Hezbollah.
Tumblr media
The latest Israeli air strike reportedly hit a Hezbollah rescue facility in central Beirut, killing at least six people. Three missiles also hit the southern suburb of Dahiyeh, where Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah was killed last week, triggering Iran to launch its largest missile attack yet on Israel.
Israel, whose military has said it is conducting "targeted ground raids" in south Lebanon, reported eight deaths in combat operations with Hezbollah.Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in a condolence message, said, "We are at the height of a difficult war against Iran's Axis of Evil, which wants to destroy us.""This will not happen because we will stand together and with God's help, we will win together. We will return our abductees in the south, we will return our residents in the north, we will guarantee the eternity of Israel," Netanyahu said.
The clashes between Israel and Hezbollah came hours after Iran fired more than 180 missiles into Israel.Iran described Tuesday's missile attack - its biggest-ever assault on Israel - as a response to Israeli killings of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh.Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Wednesday virtually addressed the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva and said Israel's assault on Gaza coupled with its aggressive expansion into the West Bank, is driving the region to the brink of a "serious crisis".
The leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) on Wednesday expressed "strong concern" over the crisis in the Middle East and said a diplomatic solution was still viable and a region-wide conflict was in no one's interest.Over 1,900 people have so far been killed and about 9,000 injured in Lebanon since Hezbollah engaged in cross-border fire with Israel after Hamas attacked Israeli towns on October 7 last year, triggering a war in Gaza as well.According to Lebanon caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati, about 1.2 million Lebanese had been displaced by Israeli attacks.

Undercover Israeli troops infiltrated a hospital in the West Bank
Israeli soldiers dressed as civilian women and paramedics stormed a hospital in the West Bank on Tuesday, killing three Palestinian militants, Israeli media reported.
The Israeli army said the militants had used the hospital as a hideout but offered no proof. They claimed one of those killed had passed weapons and ammunition to others for a planned attack allegedly inspired by a Hamas attack on southern Israel on 7 October.
The Palestinian Health Ministry said Israeli troops opened fire on Ibn Sina Hospital in the West Bank town of Jenin. A hospital spokesman said there was no exchange of fire, indicating it was a targeted killing.
Surveillance footage from the hospital shows about a dozen undercover officers, most of them armed, wearing Muslim headscarves, hospital gowns or white doctors’ dressing gowns. One of them carries a rifle in one hand and a folded wheelchair in the other.

What we’re seeing is the ruling class’s desperate attempt to hold onto power and control. The power of the people always wins in the end, I know this, I have faith, I have hope, I know there will be a day Palestine will be free and it will be in our lifetime. They’re hellbent on making this genocide happen because Palestine is the “first” domino piece. Many people have started openly and angrily questioning and criticizing their government over the last few years but especially over the last month. They know that if Palestine is freed other nations and peoples that have been colonized, abused, exploited, and destabilized will come next.
From the river to the sea Palestine will be free.
Peurto Rico will be free.
Haiti will be free.
Congo will be free.
Sudan will be free.
We must not and cannot rest until we are all free. Never again can a genocide unfold before our eyes without grave consequences for the perpetrators. Never again can a genocide unfold before our eyes. Never again.

Hey so I doubt anybody cares about this given that my blog has like, 50 followers and half of them are inactive or old friends, but if anybody's been wondering why I have so few posts on here about Israel compared to other political issues it's because I'm not putting anything on here that isn't credibly sourced. I noticed quite a few posts containing misconceptions and some straight up hoaxes early on and I've just really not noticed anybody start to think more critically since then, so I'm just not posting anything unless I can take the time to verify it.
I think a large part of this is just that I'm on the English side of the internet and most people are not able to read Hebrew and Arabic so there's just going to be more misinformation than American current events. But ngl, there's been some stuff that I really can't understand why anybody would not immediately flag as a hoax unless motivated by anti-Arab racism or antisemitism of the conspiratorial variety.
Also I just have complicated feelings because I grew up very involved with Judaism and my first Rabbi was a hardcore Israeli Zionist, and I also spent a lot of time at Chabad which was also quite Zionist. So while from a logical & moral standpoint I am, as far as I can tell, quite anti-Zionist, there's just some personal feelings in the mix that are hard to let go of. So I'd rather not invite conversation unless it's with people I trust to be understanding because I grew up with an extremely biased view on this and there might be some ideas I still hold without realizing they're motivated by my upbringing and not the reality of the situation.
Again, I can say with 100% certainty that Israel's actions since October 7th have been reprehensible and that it is their actions in the years before that led things to this point, and that I wish Israel had at the very least not had such heavy British colonial influence in its' founding, if it was ever possible to found a morally good Jewish state in the first place.
