So apparently the version of the "Isn't It Bromantic" interview that gets passed around isn't the full thing
So after seeing a tumblr post I can't find, about two and half hours of intensive internet digging, and one purchase from a sketchy second-hand site later (full story under the cut, I promise it's interesting, but also long), I got the physical magazine and scanned it
So here you go: the full "Isn't It Bromantic?" TV guide interview with Robert Sean Leonard and Hugh Laurie
Feel free to repost wherever you want- I want people to be able to find the full thing
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
SO, as for how I found it:
I saw this tumblr post forever ago that I can't find anymore because tumblr is just Like That with a cropped screenshot of an interview with Hugh Laurie and Robert Sean Leonard. In the interview, they're asked about the "bromance" between their two characters. Leonard makes an annoyed comment about how "everyone [is] obsessed with homosexuality", followed by the interview apologizing and Laurie immediately jumping in with, "No, no, let's talk about it. Wilson and House have an unusual relationship so you have to explore…" and the screenshot cuts off there. Cue funny comment from the OP about the interaction, roll credits.
Except, as these things tend to do, it ended up becoming a bit of a brain worm, and I wanted to find it again. But I couldn't find the tumblr post. I looked absolutely everywhere, and in the process of looking everywhere, I found what I thought was the original interview- a blog post with the full quote from the actor. I didn't think too much about it, I figured it was just a short quote given to a popular blog in 2008. There's a magazine cover above it, but I don't think too much about it, because I'm focusing on the quotes in the article instead of the rest of it.
So I send screenshots to a couple friends to make jokes, and it probably should have died there.
However, late at night I end up thinking about that interview again, because of course I did. I start to think about how it's weirdly formatted for, what I assumed at first reading, was just an entertainment news blog reaching out for comment and getting a response. So I pull up the screenshots of the article (because weirdly enough, the old-ass blog only loads on mobile) and look at it again.
This is when I realize that this isn't an original piece from a blog interviewing these two after reaching out for comment. This is a blog post quoting and commenting on a full interview from a magazine, which I had originally thought had just been the inspiration for the piece.
So naturally, I go looking for the magazine.
Luckily, the name of the magazine is displayed on the cover, and so is the title of its main piece. This should be easy to find, right?
Wrong.
This is an interview in a physical magazine. From 2008. October 13th, 2008, to be exact.
I know this exact date because searching the article title and magazine name leads me to an archive on the TV Guide website.
Of covers.
And nothing but covers.
I spend like forty-five minutes searching everywhere I can think of on the web. Internet Archive, the TV Guide website, any search result that comes up when I search any combination of the words "House" "Interview" "Bromantic" "Bromance" "TV Guide" "Archive" etc. Over and over, all that's coming up are that original blog post and the cover from the official gallery.
The only things I could find online were:
The cover and date of the issue on the TV Guide website
The original blog post that was screenshotted in the original tumblr post
Another blog post that had a much shorter version of the quote, references something Leonard says from later in the article, and makes a comment on the nature of his reaction to the term "bromance"
An entry on Leonard's IMDB page's "interview" list mentioning it in title only
And:
5. A single listing for the issue on what seemed to be a second-hand site that looked like it hadn't had its UI updated since the mid 2000's, with a listing with no date or additional information besides what issue it is.
This is the only listing anywhere. I checked every other second-hand site I could think of, and then some that only came up through google searches. There's not a single listing for that issue on any of them. There were plenty of listings of TV guide magazines, including one that seemed promising because it included issues from that year, but it was missing all of October.
It seemed like the only listing for this issue on the entire internet was this one copy on this one obscure website. For all I know, this was listed in 2008 and abandoned, and just never got marked inactive. It could also be a complete scam.
A few quick google searches show that that website seemed to be legit, albeit a bit loose on quality control (which makes sense, this website seemed like the kind of thing you'd have to use the Way Back Machine to access). It also had an option to pay via PayPal, which meant I could file a chargeback if need be.
It was $11.50 when you include shipping.
So at about half past midnight, I bought the listing.
Naturally, about an hour later, I manage to actually find a scan of the interview. I had to follow a link in the comments of a post on FanPop, taking me to an old wordpress blog, and I'm sitting in front of the damn interview at last.
But something doesn't make sense. Why would their cover story only be two pages of text that aren't even full pages, and why would it cut off so strangely? There was no concluding sentence or paragraph, even though it started with a fairly long lead-in. It also led right up to the edge of the page, which felt like there should be more to it. There were more images in the interview than text, and the fact that there are so many of them and they clearly did a whole photoshoot indicated that they had them on hand for a while. The silly string one, for instance, I imagine probably had to require a couple takes, which means cleaning off Wilson's hair and face, adjusting makeup, etc. for it. Meanwhile, the conversation itself seems like it could have taken ten minutes total. I could have been totally wrong and that was where the article ended, but I couldn't shake the feeling that there might be more.
So I hold tight. A couple days pass with no update, and then the PayPal purchase gets updated with a tracking number. Promising, but it could still be a scam. Whether or not I get the actual magazine becomes a source of anxiety for the next week.
Until today, when I get told it was delivered. And when I opened the envelope it was sent in: there it was.
When I tell you I was happy stimming in my bedroom just holding the damn issue in my own hands... And then opening it and finding out that I was right, there was a missing page... I was elated. I still am, just typing this.
So I spent half an hour getting my scanner to work, and I give you the above issues.
Like I said above, feel free to repost however and wherever you want. I want all this to mean something.
In the meantime, I have two more House-themed TV Guide magazines coming to try and get articles from.

Isn't it Bromantic? by Lyssa Kay Adams
“No.” He sat up and cupped her face. “That’s what I’m trying to say. When I joined the book club, I thought you left me because you didn’t believe I was good enough for you.” Her heart cracked. “Vlad—” He pressed his fingertip to her lips. “But I realized that I was the one who believed that. I’m still working on it. Even right now, there’s a part of me that is scared this is just a dream, that you’re not really here, that you couldn’t possibly feel about me the way I’ve always felt about you.” A tear dripped down his cheek. Elena wiped it away before pressing her brow to his. “How could you ever not know that you deserved to be loved?” “How could you ever think that you were just a burden?” She laughed thickly. “It’s sort of a miracle we’ve made it this far, isn’t it?"
“Maybe this is just how our story was supposed to be written.” She kissed him and wiped her cheeks. “So what do we do now?” Vlad tugged her back down to his chest and wrapped his arms around her. “We get up, take a bath together”—she mmm’d against his skin—“and we take it day by day for a while.” “I like the sound of that,” she said, burrowing closer to his warmth. He hugged her tighter. “It’s going to be okay now, Lenochka. Everything is going to be okay.”

Spiderman deadpool omnibus isn't it bromantic spoilers.
This isn't really a thing major so you can just read it anyway however it won't make alot/any sense really
This is copied straight from my notes app, starting after this now
(also patient 0 and chameleon might be the same person?? It's super confusing but the book says patient 0)
Yo wtf yeah
Spidey and deadpool become besties at thors dance party fight truce thin and deadpool says how they need to hang out again and then he fucking kills Peter Parker (the rich billionaire Parker industries one) without knowing he's spidey, Peter lies on the floor with a selfie of them   next to him and deadpool leaves spidey a voicemail about how psyched he is that they can be buddies
I am ascending why the fuck would they do that  oh my days
And then the next page is the 'isn't it bromantic' issue cover thing
But oh fuck it turns out that they go after patient 0 and we find out he got mysterio to decoy and distract both DP and SM as well as plant fake evidence of what patient 0 was doing and blame it on Peter so that while DP killed Peter mysterio could keep Pete dead/hijacked so patient 0 could replace Pete and steal all their data on gene slicing for himself
Also yeah spidey fucking pissed at deadpool cuz he's like 'you just used me this whole time to get to my boss,' and dps like 'you thought we were friends' and spidey said ye we 'were'
Then dp reveals he was tryna protect spidey (by not showing proof Pete was bad) from being hurt from what he thought Pete was doing cuz he thought spidey held Pete in such high regards. Spideys also his hero too so he would wanna hurt him like that either
He also admits he was wrong and face reveals (smooth face that happened when he snogged death in the whole save Pete thing)
And Peters like 'fuck, wade I believe you'
And then patient 0 escaped cuz before that confession thing he exploded the building on them and forced them to make a Web shield  and he has spidey and deadpools blood and is giving it to a girl (itsy bitsy) to make them be one
(dp realises Pete was good cuz after ke killed Pete 1st time him and wife went on a date to hell and realised he wasn't there, then he killed him again then he wa like fuck and went in to save him then gave him the sorry I killes u card then Pete got angy)
Also what the fuck in hell Pete tells the illusions of mysterio no one can torture him more then himself, and then at the end when Pete conjures the spidey patronus (dp is snogging death at this point) he meet this devil and he says a secret about his life that is 'there will always be apart of you that is unsatisfied. No matter how hard you fight. No matter what you do.... You will always sense that something is missing from your life. You will never find peace'
Which is cruel and leads Pete to realise that this peace is what patient 0 took from him when he replaced him when he died
Becaue to steal the data he needed dna which he took  as well as his peace  and leads Pete to set out and get it back (then the romance thing ends for now and into the next omnibus? Or the itsy bitsy thing)
But while replacing Pete it seems that patient zero left some of his ideas in Pete, which makes him go to dp and then they fight patient 0 etc etc

"How about a kiss?" Noah asked. "Will that at least be in the next chapter?"
"I don't know," Vlad repeated, more forcefully now. "They are both too vulnerable."
"Fair enough," Malcolm said. "Just remember that fear of vulnerability—physical or emotional—is usually a fear of something else."

Book Review: Isn't it Bromantic?
Bromance Book Club (Book 4) by Lyssa Kay Adamas
Tumblr media
Source: Google Images
With his passion for romance novels, it was only a matter of time before Vlad took up the pen to write a novel the Bromance Book Club would swoon over.
Elena Konnikova has lived her entire adult life in the shadows. As the daughter of a Russian journalist who mysteriously disappeared after speaking out against government corruption, she escaped danger the only way she knew how. She agreed to marry her childhood friend, Vladimir, and move to the United States, where he is a professional hockey player in Nashville.
Vlad, aka The Russian, thought he could be content with his marriage of convenience. But after four years, it's become too difficult to continue in a one-sided relationship. He joined the Bromance Book Club to learn how to make his wife love him, but all he's learned is that he deserves more. He's ready to create his own sweeping romance--both on and off the page.
The Bros are unwilling to let Vlad forgo true love--and this time they're not operating solo. They join forces with Vlad's senior citizen neighbors, a group of meddling widows who call themselves The Loners. Just when things finally look promising, the danger from Elena's past life intrudes, and the book club will face their first-ever life-or-death grand gesture as they race to a happy ever after.

Wondering if This Series was Even Worth My Time
My enjoyment for the Bromance Book Club series is slowly diminishing as I get through each book... Honestly speaking, I don't know why I am still reading this series because I have so many issues with the way Adams wrote these books.
First of all, this is the fourth book in the series and every single book seems to follow the same template. I have no problem with the template but if an author is going to write a series of books and to read the subsequent books, you kind of need to read them chronologically, the author should not be using the same template in every single book. Do people actually like how repetitive the books are?
Secondly, Adams has some kind of continuity problem. When it comes to her side characters, you can see their personalities but when some of these side characters become the main characters, they (mainly the male leads) began to feel like carbon copies of each other. Take Isn't It Bromantic? as an example, Vlad always had a slightly childish side to him in the first couple of books but when it's suddenly him as the main character, it felt like I was reading another "Russian". There's simply nothing worthy of connecting to Adams's characters at all because they constantly feel like different people in different books.
Now focusing more on this book, I have questions. In the beginning of Isn't It Bromantic?, Vlad mentioned that Russians are very emotional people, is that true? You know what, literally everything that Vlad and Elena mentioned about their Russian culture, I wonder if that was accurate... And why is this book so dramatic? It is so redundantly dramatic or at least, that drama came out of nowhere. It isn't even like with the second book where Liz was doing everything to take her ex-boss down, that drama felt natural when it was happening because everything throughout the book made sense and led up to it. Whereas for this book, it felt like Adams just needed another dramatic subplot at the last second and hastily included it in her book.
Can I also please just say, there is no chemistry between Vlad and Elena at all. The second they started making out, I gave up reading it, I was just speeding through it to get the book over and done with. I seriously thought Vlad had way more chemistry with Colton even back in the third book, and I am not referring to the platonic kind.
My last complain, I promise. Lyssa Kay Adams is not a romantic genius. I really dislike how the members of the bookclub always claim that they know romance, I'm sorry but their creator don't know romance. The way they talk about conflicts, grand gestures and whatnot... Oh my gosh, it's Adams crowning herself as a romantic genius and that irks me because her concept of romance is narrow-minded. I actually disagree when the boys were telling Vlad that he needed a conflict in the book he was writing, as if Vlad and Elena's special six-years marriage isn't conflict enough. Remember what I said about Adams writing the books in this series with a template? She further confirmed it for me here.
If you ask me, this series could have ended as a duology. The more Adams write for this series, the more it's feeling like a cash grab. I cannot read the next book now so I will give myself time to breathe. However, when I do decide to pick up book 5 and find out it is not the final book, I will DNF this series without reading the next book.
Rating: ★★☆☆☆

Isn't It Bromantic Review
Welcome back my darlings, I'm here to deliever the on-going review of The Bromance Book Club.
In the fourth installment, we delve into the mysterious relationship between the hockey player Vladimir, nicknamed “The Russian,” and his reserved wife, Elena Konnikova. Their relationship started out as a sweet childhood friendship who later got married after Vlad was selected to play in the United States. But once they arrived in there, they drifted apart to the point of being strangers. Now after suffering an injury in training, Vlad finds himself writing a romance novel to unravel his feelings, which become more confusing with Elena’s attentive care. What mysteries does Elena hide? Will Vlad and Elena be able to resolve their problems before she returns to Russia?
Warning: Kidnapping, death of father, mention of human tra--icking and slight xenophobia.
Tumblr media
The strengths of the novel are:
The Russian writing a romance novel. I think it's a great idea that Vlad writes a novel (so beautiful that I would love to read it instead of this one). It's innovative, it breaks with what we're used to, and I feel like it works great as a tool to analyze the progress of Vlad's romance and character. Plus, I think it makes the book club more intimate and united, since they're the ones giving feedback to their friend. And believe me, sharing your texts is vulnerable to do. Great idea and execution.
The isolation of the main characters. I think that reducing the spaces and focusing on one, provides many opportunities to create intense intimate and confrontational scenes that advance the plot to essential points.
On the contrary, the weaknesses are:
The appearance of the cheese man. I didn't like him, the jokes about him and the gastric problems of other characters are unnecessary and not funny. I don't understand why the author insists on adding a character that all women (married, with a partner or single) fall for him in front of their respective partners. Yes, jealousy is an amazing tool for romance. But, as a jealous person, it's not fun to feel the insecurity of seeing your partner flirt with someone else or let themselves be "seduced", I feel it's offensive. Now, if they were just friendly, it wouldn't cause me any problems. But the book describes how they look at him with lustful eyes, laugh at double-entendre jokes and get fed by him. Jealousy doesn't work here, it's disrespectful.
In this book it's very apparent that Vlad and Elena live in different worlds, and it's not a good meaning. When you read Vlad's perspective, it's a sweet and "funny" romantic comedy book, you switch to Elena and you're following a human tra--icking case. There's one more important than the other. It doesn't help the central story, it just creates conflicting perspectives in tone. Also, I have a hard time reading this book considering that the author made a joke about the kid-napping and abduction of journalists and other people (Undercover bromance, pg. 113, ch. 11).
I personally enjoyed that it was another romance between friends coupled with fake marriage. I liked it, it added a different kind of tension and dynamic to the tropes. Is it well done? Debatable. But the marriage scenes are adorable.
On the other hand, I am conflicted whether or not I like the final scene about Elena's problem. It's not badly written and if it was its own separate story, it would be a great ending. But it goes back to the weakness of having a fragmented world. Again we have Adams' problem of putting strong themes that are only superficially seen.
One piece of advice to the author is to write stories like this that aren't in the rom-com genre. There is potential, but it's important to find the space to discuss them.
Finally I would give the book 3 stars. It's not a bad book, I feel like it's a decent read to waste time on. I would waste time on other reads though.
Have you read this novel or the series? What do you think of these books? Do you think a romance novel should discuss such serious topics or should you just refrain from them? How are you doing with your November readings?

Now that I think about it, the Dark Crisis Young Justice book also implied that Bart, when running low on speedforce energy, had to siphon energy off of Red Tornado and Superboy to function
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, they don't say what kind of energy Bart took from them, just that they gave him energy and it was enough for Bart to do what he needed to do.
But realistically Kon can only give one kind of energy. Solar energy. And Red Tornado could be giving electricity from his battery or Bart could be siphoning off the kinetic energy from RT's tornadoes.
So I guess Wally isn't the only one who isn't picky about what he eats. Bart will take anything in a pinch as well.
Wally "I don't care where the energy comes from, I'll take it" West
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sure, he prefers speedforce energy but he'll take whatever you have to offer. Kinetic, electric, godly, he'll honestly take anything.
#Bart has 'eaten' a lot of energy tbh. its just generally not on purpose? and he definitely wasn't always able to#there is a pretty distinct moment in a speedsters life where electricity goes from 'ouchie oof oww' to 'yum!' and its def not immediate#i can't say that Bart has ever stolen non speedforce energy so blatantly before tho. hes been given it (that ray gun in Impulse. Bedlam)#ect#but i think this is the first instance of Bart stealing non speedforce energy#good for him tbh#wally also just absolutely bodies energy LMAO dude is insane about it. one time wally absorbed a shit ton of negative speedforce#like the stuff that kills speedsters for real#the stuff that turns speedsters into black flashes#wally just ate a ton of it??? and was hunky dory afterwards??? the man is insane. an absolute garbage disposal unit for energy#one time Barry absorbed Hal's GL power. but Hal consented to that and gave it to him. it was very bromantic#uhhhhhh Barry accidentally stole time energy a few times. that was a real thing that happened#anyway#they like energy a lot#OH SHIT YEAH I FORGOT ABOUT THE TIME WITH CLARK'S HEAT VISION#Wally was like 'Clark shoot your heat vision at me. trust me bro just do it it'll be cool'#and Clark was all 'wally that'll fucking kill you. no'#and Wally was all '🥺 claaaaaaaaark. pls. itll be coooooooooool'#and then clark did and Wally like.... absorbed it and shot it out as a giant rainbow beam#cause wally scattered the light like a crystal and anyway wally and clark said gay rights and shot deadly rainbow lasers#so i mean idk if thats technically energy absorbing but isn't it tho? lets humor me and say yes

Me, two months ago: I've seen a lot of people posting about House, and it seems interesting enough. I'll give it a shot, but I'll probably lose interest after a few episodes
Me now: So this is my physical copy of the October 13th, 2008 TV guide with the cover story "Isn't It Bromantic?" where Hugh Laurie says House and Wilson share a "very unusual relationship" and Robert Sean Leonard compares the two characters to Caesar Milan and his pitbull Daddy completely unprompted, I bought it from a sketchy website because it was the only physical copy I could find online after two and a half hours of searching, and I had a suspicion that the scan everyone passes around isn't complete, and I was right-

spideypool fic rec list please!!!!
Tumblr media
Paradise (spread out with a butter knife) by Sarah_Sandwich [T, Graphic Depictions of Violence, 72K]
He sighs from where he’s prone, arms akimbo, and roof gravel digging into his spine. “I lost my job. My… other job. The one that actually pays the bills.” He doesn’t want to dwell on why he’s telling Deadpool of all people. Surely it has nothing to do with his desperate lack of friends. MJ is in California chasing her dreams, Harry’s undergoing treatment for his mental health and isn’t allowed visitors (not that it matters since they blacklisted Peter after last time), and Gwen… Well. And it’s not like he can talk to Aunt May without her worrying about him starving to death under a bridge or something so… Deadpool it is. Man, when did his life get this pathetic. OR: The one where Peter and Wade are literal soulmates but don't realize it for literal years because they're literal idiots.
✦ kam's notes: My favoritest SMDP fic. It’s a soulmate au and it has one of the best characterizations of Peter and Wade. It burns so slow and so good. My favorite thing about this fic is how unique but somehow familiar this universe is. Peter is bad at being an adult and Wade is larger than life. I love the transition from strangers to friends to best friends to partners to roommates to soulmates/heartmates to lovers. I could not recommend this enough.
Peter Parker's Home for the Wayward Villain by BeanieBaby [T, 90K]
A really long redemption story.
✦ kam's notes: The mother of all SMDP fics, in my opinion. It’s spideypool + a lot of fun side couples and cameos. Peter is Tony’s adopted son and he has no powers. He adopts a bunch of villains like Loki and Magneto. So fun and one of the first SMDP fics I’ve ever read!
Quackery by CAPSING [M, 3K]
In a world where the first words your soulmate will say to you appear on your left wrist at your tenth birthday, Peter gets the short end of the stick.
✦ kam's notes: It’s not a Spideypool fic rec list if there are no works by CAPSING. It’s a soulmate AU where Peter gets a duck-related soulmate mark. It’s funny and light-hearted, but with Deadpool-typical angst.
you grow up and you lose touch by scarlett_starlett [M, Graphic Depictions of Violence, 52K]
Peter always thought that when he had kids, there would be someone by his side. Instead, he has a mouthy mercenary acting as a chef every night for him and his newly adopted son and a narcissistic billionaire philanthropist paying child support on the sly. But Peter figures it isn’t all bad, especially when Miles loses that dullness in his eyes whenever Wade slips on the banana peels he ‘strategically’ places all over the apartment for Peter as a joke.
✦ kam's notes: Normally don’t like a kidfic but this one is too adorable not add. Peter and Wade co-parenting/co-mentoring Miles! Love the dynamic between Wade and Miles, it’s so silly.
TheRealDeadpool posted by JessJesstheBest [T, 6K]
Carly Shep @Spider-butt Sooo… has anyone else noticed how cozy Spider-Man and the Merc with a Mouth seem to be lately? (14 retweets, 74 likes) Or the Isn't it Bromantic comic run from the perspective of in-universe social media
✦ kam's notes: What it says on the summary. Very cracky and sweet. I like the outsider POV element of this.
BF(F) by HexxBunny [T, 10K]
Five times people thought Wade and Peter were a couple which, seriously, where did they get that from? They are not a couple, stop asking. They are just friends now, and did plenty of friend stuff. Like kissing.
✦ kam's notes: Peter being in denial: the fic. It’s very fluffy. A lot of kissing. The Avengers make an apperance.
Pizza Parker, Booty Double by vulcanhighblood [G, 1K]
The pizza delivery boy has hips that don't lie, and a booty belonging to Spider-Man. All Wade has to do now is find proof that Peter is the webbed wonder...
✦ kam's notes: The famous “Deadpool recognized Peter outside the suit based on his ass” fic. There are some dubiously-consensual groping but it’s all in very good fun.
that's all it is, man by scarlett_starlett [T, 5K]
"It’s just a leap of faith. That's all it is." (or: Peter B. Parker returns to his New York and actually believes that he won’t mess it up again; not this time, not with him. WARNING: Spoilers for the Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse movie. Read with caution.
✦ kam's notes: Another scarlett_starlett fic! Possibly the best Peter B. Parker/Wade Wilson fic, in my opinion. I love love love their dynamic in this. The banter is 10/10. Wade gives  some much-needed appreciation for Peter B’s dad bod.
Parallel Horizons by mokuyoubi [E, 10K]
When Peter B Parker enters the collider again to return to his own dimension, he’s dumped out a week into the future, but still in Miles’ universe. Repeated attempts to return home only speed up the damage done to his body by the glitches, and leave him stranded 2 years in the future. Enter Deadpool, who’s seen a lot of versions of Spider-Man, but never one so in need of a friend. He vows to save Peter’s life, whether he likes it or not. Along with Miles and Gwen, they work to repair the damage, and find out what’s keeping Peter from being able to return home. And maybe Peter finds he has more in common with the strange Merc than he could have anticipated.
✦ kam's notes: Another Peter B./Wade fic. Wade is very helpful and charming, how could Peter not fall for him? The other Spideys also make a cameo. Some Liv/May crumbs in here, too.
liminal spaces by brawlite [Series, M, 18K, Unfinished]
New York City is full of liminal spaces. Somehow, Peter always seems to find Wade in them.
✦ kam's notes: This one is technically a series. There are three works in here and they’re all so good. I love how intimate these fics feel and there are some great Peter retrospectives here.
an itch you can't scratch by jilliancares [G, 8K]
5 times Wade bumps into Peter Parker + 1 time he realizes Peter Parker is Spider-Man.
✦ kam's notes: Oh my God, this one! Wade keeps meeting Peter and keeps feeling like he’s forgetting something. The moment he realizes is my favorite part of this fic. Definitely recommend!
Another Trip Around the Sun by isaDanCurtisproduction [M, 31K]
Peter likes Wade. A lot. Like-likes him. But this is a problem, see? Because Wade has no idea who is behind the Spiderman mask. And then they go to a New Years Eve Party hosted by Tony Stark, get completely wasted, and suddenly this does not seem to be nearly as much of a problem as Peter originally thought. Because Peter always makes the best decisions while drunk, don't you know? Especially when his decision involves getting into Deadpool's pants.
✦ kam's notes: The miscommunication fic to end all the other miscommunication fics. Frustrating, sexy, and a little angsty!
Halo by Pancake22 [T, 5K]
Convinced that Spider-Man is hiding in plain sight as an employee at Parker Industries, Deadpool explores the building in hopes of spotting his friend amongst the sea of corporate drones. All to offer him a job opportunity, of course. That was it though. Honest.
✦ kam's notes: SM/DP compliant. Identity reveal. Enough said.
It Had to Be You by fancastical [T, 20K]
Or, Five Times Deadpool Recognised Spider-Man and One Time He Didn't
✦ kam's notes: A frustrating, bordering on cracky identity reveal fic. Peter is a troll, Wade loves him anyway. The ending is super satisfying, I promise.
Don't mind just shamelessly plugging my own fics—
my heart is wild (and my bones are steel) [T, 9K]
Out of the corner of his eyes, MJ quietly takes the seat across the younger Peter, swiftly sliding into his place. He visibly relaxes, resting his forehead against hers. They belong together in a quietly intense way. Longing burns hot inside of him, like a branch caught in a forest fire. It’s strange. Even if this version of Peter has lost virtually everything, he still finds a way to be envious of him. He thinks of Wade. For some unfathomable reason he isn’t quite ready to examine yet, he misses the idiot. No Way Home, but in Peter-Three’s perspective.
all the skeletons you hide (show me yours, i’ll show you mine) [M, 16K, WIP]
A wave of affection and longing almost makes him stagger on his feet. Just seeing him in that suit—looking less than impressive, scratching his butt—makes him realize just how much he missed him. “Wade,” Peter cringes at how his voice catches, “Hi.” Wade turns around, turns back, turns again and does a double take. He eyes Peter up and down and to his surprise, turns away snootily. “Sorry cutie, any other day, I would be super into this hipster nerd slash skater boi with an I you’ve got going on—devastating combo, by the way—I’m sadly not in the mood.” Peter, fresh out of his multiversal escapades, gains a new perspective in life. One that includes a certain mouthy mercenary, perhaps? The problem is, the mercenary doesn’t seem to remember him. Like at all. He has a sneaking suspicion it has to do with that spell thing Peter-One was talking about…
