Yall we know that Taravangian says that the spren in half shards "could have graced a radiant". What if Ishar took budding Radiants and captured their interested spren in gemstones which would function within a fabrial to force them to transform into a shield forever in the Physical Realm, similar to a dead shardblade but more horrifying. He is continuing his research as ofnRoW so maybe if this idea is true, Ishar was attempting to upgrade them by physically summoning them without a nahel bind involved to allow the wearer of the fabrial to change the shape of the spren to match their wishes.

What I'm saying is if Vasher can continue to create horrors unlike man has ever seen, why can't Ishar take another stab at it?

Don't ask me to explain my thought process because I can't and it does not make sense but I have kind of been thinking a lot about Kal'tsit/Ishar-mla recently... (especially the concept of just the two of them left, at the end of the world)

(Also someone on lofter posted this artwork and I am thinking about it a lot.)
