Bundaberg Rum | Bundy Mixer
https://vimeo.com/753734958 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XEM_hPAslEs 1 in 8 men think they can win a point off Serena Williams, which exposes a deeply entrenched global issue that many men don't respect the skills of female athletes. Diageo wanted to change that, as part of a global push towards more inclusive portrayal. Their most loved Australian rum brand, Bundaberg Rum (Bundy), was sponsoring the Australian men’s and women’s National Rugby Leagues (NRL & NRLW). The men’s league was thriving but the women’s league needed to grow its fan base and unfortunately, most rugby fans were men with no interest in the NRLW. We identified that the women’s stats were just as good as the men’s and knew that NRL fans loved stats. So we created a trojan horse to make them fans of the women’s game without them even realising it. We did it by hijacking the largest global online community for stats-obsessed fans – Fantasy Football – because you can’t argue with stats and stats have no gender. In partnership with the NRL, we created Bundy Mixer – the world’s first mixed gender fantasy competition. Fans could finally pick the best of the best, not just the best of the blokes. We built Bundy Mixer into the official NRL fantasy website and launched it to coincide with the 2022 NRLW season through an integrated social, digital, PR and earned campaign. Then each week, fans picked their teams at the Bundy Mixer website, choosing the best performing players, regardless of gender. By studying the women’s stats, NRL fans started respecting the players and watching the game. Bundy Mixer got national news coverage and attracted 13,000+ registered players and over 10 million media impressions. Most importantly, in its first season of many, Bundy Mixer had begun to level the playing field with viewership of the NRLW up by +50% (compared to previous season).
This professional campaign titled 'Bundy Mixer' was published in Australia in May, 2023. It was created for the brand: Bundaberg Rum, by ad agency: Leo Burnett Australia. This Integrated medium campaign is related to the Alcoholic Drinks industry and contains 5 media assets. It was submitted 9 months ago.

7 Facts About Izzy + 1 About her Soul Steed
@daine-s-adventures tagged me to do this 8 facts about thing that I know nothing about beyond what was posted, so random 8 facts about my SSO character, here we come! Well, 7. And the last one relates more to Copper because I couldn’t think of another one for Izzy.
1. She was raised by her single father and paternal grandparents.
I know I’ve mentioned her father before in the majority of things I’ve written regarding her history because they were very close, but to restate and elaborate, Izzy was raised by her father and her grandparents, on his side of the family, and they all lived on a ranch in SW Florida where they raised, bred, and trained mostly American Quarters and Paints. Her father is a rider and trainer of some renown that has traveled the country to show at the national level and to do clinics on the family’s way of working with horses. Her mother’s relationship with her father was relatively short-lived; she liked him and he liked her, but, ultimately, their passions were just too different, so she moved on, and wasn’t quite prepared to be a mother. Thus, the tight-as-glue relationship between her and her father, Remy, was born. She writes regular letters home to him to keep him posted on her Jorvegian adventures, though they’re grown a bit more few and far between in pressing times, and she’s done her best to shield him from the reality of the events she has found herself in... Though it’s getting harder to pretend like she’s just been leading a normal, horse-oriented life considering so many of her adventures are of the more magical and mysterious type.
2. She wears her heart on her sleeve, but romance is a bit complicated to her.
Maybe it sounds a little cliche or dramatic to say just about everything changed when Izzy moved to Jorvik to experience the island’s connection and way with horses, and possibly to attend the riding academy, but it pretty much did. Magical adventures aside, she also wound up with feelings for one particular circus master. And Izzy’s the kind of person that wears her heart on her sleeve and looks for the best in people, especially people she cares about. And he was charming and she ended up spending a lot of time around him after initially helping set up his circus. Some of it struck her as odd, but she was also being pulled into the middle of a centuries old battle between good and evil, so a lot seemed odd. Maybe part of her problem now is that she’s never exactly been in a relationship, so, for a while, she wasn’t sure how to or if she even wanted to label her relationship with Ydris. And now she’s torn between what everyone else is calling the inevitable (insert, curse your inevitable but hurtful betrayal meme here) and a deep sympathy for someone who’s cause is just, even if his methods are far from what everyone would prefer. For someone in their first relationship, she certainly had to go and fall in love with a right complicated bastard, didn’t she? Oops. >.>
3. She probably gets along best with Linda.
I imagine Linda as perhaps the most understanding and in-tune with Izzy’s position and feelings about things of the three Soul Riders we currently have met. Lisa’s anger over Anne stung more than Izzy would like to admit, and she doesn’t quite feel her to be completely approachable for it. Alex, on the other hand, is approachable and amicable as well, but Linda and Izzy share a passion and fascination for reading and learning about their adventures and the island. Meteor’s also pretty humorous, too.
4. The Druids, on the other hand? O o f. Except Evergray.
The longer she has been on Jorvik, the more her faith in trusting the Druids has been tested. She’s seen her fellow Soul Riders struggle with it, too, and, considering everything, she’s not sure she likes how little they tell sometimes. While she’s not quite sure how her feelings are working out about Ydris, his point of view certainly didn’t help her trust, and Evergray’s been to Pandoria, too. She sees him as far more open-minded about things and trusts his judgement, whereas she’s feeling more and more that the Druids are maybe a bit too stuck in their ways. She’s experienced frustration with the figuratively closed doors in her face, the lack of answer, and still being treated like she doesn’t know enough. But the problem is she doesn’t, and no one is helping her with that on this side.
But her and Evergray clicked quickly. He’s perhaps the only one with a solid relation to the Druids that she really trusts. And he’d be a damn cool uncle to have, no lie. Uncle Everett can visit her anytime.
5. She wants needs to save Pandoria.
Circling back to her deep sympathy and bleeding heart, Ydris’s story has given her an undying need to find a way to save both Jorvik and Pandoria, and that plays a role in how frustrated she is now with the Druids. To her, there has to be a way, if only the Druids would look past the narrow thought that Pandoria is dangerous and something to be feared. Fear clouds judgement, and she happens to believe now more than ever that the Druids suffer from a decent amount of skewed judgement. She can’t quite understand why she feels so strongly about it internally - the idea that they might not be able to do both even brings up some anger and rage for the unjustice of it, but some pieces of the “goddess reincarnate” puzzle may or may not be clicking into place somewhere in her mind’s subconscious.
6. I don’t necessarily think she’ll have Pandoric scars. But “tattoos.”
But she will have something. Since it’s highly likely, and basically all but confirmed in my head, that she’s the reincarnation of Aideen, I think that power will override the effects of Pandoria on an otherwise human body. But I think it would be cool if, when she tapped into her full potential and powers, she had something like the Will Tattoos form like in the Fable franchise, only in runic designs and Pandoric pink in color. In Fable, they’re basically glowing, scar-like features that glow and appear stronger the more you use Will (which is the magic in the game) and they look like this (x) (the blue glowy stuff). They fade over time if you use less Will, and can eventually disappear, but I think in Izzy’s case, they’d remain as faint lines, almost like scars, but more “tattoo”-esque in nature. I’ve felt for a long time that Goddess!Izzy fully awakened would be massively pissed that her beautiful island and horses are under such great threat, that her Soul Riders have been so thoroughly tested and battle-worn, that Pandoria is suffering... And she’d totally fucking wear pink war paint and you can’t change my mind.
7. On that note, she is capable of Soul Rider powers, but also more Pandoric-style magic.
She can use healing abilities of the Star Circle, foresee things like the Moon Circle, travel to and survive Pandoria in a way akin to powers of the Sun Circle, and use offensive attacks like those of the Lightning Circle, but I also imagine her maybe more as a traditional spell slinger, without the need for incantation or wand or rune stick - capable of the more unknown Pandorian magic style that I’m pretty sure at this point fuels a lot of the power and magic of Jorvik. But, since I’m starting to see Aideen as maybe one of these mysterious Pandoric figures like Fripp and Ydris, she can naturally tap into this potential, if any of that makes any sense? xD
She can kick ass and take names at the height of her power, is basically what you need to know. But, of course, since the Druids have been so damn tight-lipped, she’s got a ways to go before she’s understood and realized all of this potential hiding away in her.
8. SPOILER IF YOU HAVEN’T FINISHED THE NIGHTDUST STORYLINE. But Copperflame doesn’t change colors, necessarily, like a Jorvik Wild Horse...
Or Nightdust. While my first reaction to Nightdust’s new look post the quests, I think what I’d really imagine for Copper is “Will Tattoos” for him, too, mimicking the kind of runic designs on the statues in Guardian’s Dale, and a sort of glowing aura like Concorde has in SSL 3, with a Pandoric pink glow to his eyes, his wings, and maybe glowing hooves. Maybe this is simply because I have no idea what color he should change into if they did something like Nightdust’s coat because even though gold is what we traditionally associate with Aideen, I don’t think Copper should be gold. But, I mean, I’m also imagining him rn as a big, fluffy painted draft cross, soooo... I would be happy with some glowing eyes and updated, more permanent/usable wings. xD @SSO, pls let me have a draft build for my starter pon? Can you imagine how cool? How more customizable it would be if we could choose a build type for our starter on top of more customization of their coats? Skreeee???
It’d require a lot of work, obvs, that whole ordeal, but it’d make for some really snazzy cutscene moments and cool game play akin to the excitement of rescuing Justin and figuring out we could fly. Just sayin’.

Quote
At any rate, I think my love of clothes has at least partly to do with my love of detail. Lots of writers have been clothes horses and dandies - Proust, Oscar Wilde, Baudelaire, Colette all come to mind...even Emily Dickinson in her white muslin dresses or Ivy Compton-Burnett with her diamond brooches and severe Victorian black. Poring through racks of vintage clothes or obsessing over just the right shade of sky-blue or violet satin for the lining of a black jacket stems from exactly the same impulse that makes me tinker happily with a sentence all afternoon, changing adjectives and moving clauses around until it's just right. Then, too: I so enjoy looking at other people's clothes that it seems only proper to take a little care with my own. As Isabella Blow so famously said: "My style icon is anyone who makes a bloody effort."

Hi Sarah! My friend and I are starting a bookclub (as much as you can with two people who aren't pressed for deadlines) and I was wondering if you have any recommendations? (That is if you have time to rec anything!) We're starting off with Deathless and have Fitzgerald next in line somewhere but I def want to try to expand the genres we read and tbh from years of following you, I trust your judgement
I don’t...like giving recommendations? At least not directly, it seems like too much opportunity for getting it wrong. Everybody has their own tastes, after all, and even the best of friends don’t necessarily vibe with what you vibe with. (I’ve experienced this with multiple friends, so I know what I’m talking about.) Truly, one of the reasons that my whole “I’m going to get back into reading for pleasure!” push has been so successful is that I only bother with books that interest me, and stop reading when they fail to catch my attention.
But I’ve now read at least 60 books in 2020, which is approximately 60 more than I’ve read in the years prior, so I’m happy to share that. Below is my list of recent reads, beginning to end, along with a very short review---I keep this list in the notes app on my phone, so they have to be. Where I’ve talked about a book in a post, I’ve tried to link to it.
Peruse, and if something catches your interest I hope you enjoy!
2020 Reading List
Crazy Rich Asians series, Kevin Kwan (here)
Blackwater, Michael McDowell (here; pulpy horror and southern gothic in one novel; come for the monster but stay for the family drama.)
Fire and Hemlock, Diane Wynne Jones (here; weird and thoughtful, in ways I’m still thinking about)
The Secret History, Donna Tartt
Gone Girl, Gillian Flynn (here; loved it! I can see why people glommed onto it)
Swamplandia!, Karen Russell (unfinished, I could not get past the first paragraph; just....no.)
Rules of Scoundrels series, Sarah MacLean (an enjoyable romp through classic romancelandia, though if you read through 4 back to back you realize that MacLean really only writes 1 type of relationship and 1 type of sexual encounter, though I do appreciate insisting that the hero go down first.)
The Bear and the Nightingale, Katherine Arden (here)
Dread Nation, Justine Ireland (great, put it with Stealing Thunder in terms of fun YA fantasy that makes everything less white and Eurocentric)
The Haunting of Hill House, Shirley Jackson (VERY good. haunting good.)
Tell My Horse, Zora Neale Hurston (I read an interesting critique of Hurston that said she stripped a lot of the radicalism out of black stories - these might be an example, or counterexample. I haven't decided yet.)
The Rose MacGregor Drinking and Admiration Society, T. Kingfisher (fun!)
St. Lucy’s Home for Girls Raised by Wolves, Karen Russell (some of these short stories are wonderful; however, Swamplandia's inspiration is still unreadable, which is wild.)
17776, Jon Bois (made me cry. deeply human. A triumph of internet storytelling)
The Girl with All the Gifts, M. R. Carey (deeply enjoyable. the ending is a bittersweet kick in the teeth, and I really enjoyed the adults' relationships)
The Door in the Hedge and Other Stories, Robin McKinley (enjoyable, but never really resolved into anything.)
The Hero and the Crown, Robin McKinley (fun, but feels very early fantasy - or maybe I've just read too many of the subsequent knock-offs.)
Mrs. Caliban, Rachel Ingalls (weird little pulp novel.)
All Systems Red, Martha Wells (enjoyable, but I don't get the hype. won't be looking into the series unless opportunity arises.)
A People's History of Chicago, Kevin Coval (made me cry. bought a copy. am still thinking about it.)
The Sol Majestic, Ferrett Steinmetz (charming, a sf novel mostly about fine dining)
House in the Cerulean Sea, TJ Klune (immensely enjoyable read, for all it feels like fic with the serial numbers filed off)
The Au Pair, Emma Rous (not bad, but felt like it wanted to be more than it is)
The Night Tiger, Yangsze Choo (preferred this to Ghost Bride; I enjoy a well-crafted mystery novel and this delivered)
The Left Hand of Darkness, Ursula Le Guin (unfinished, I cannot fucking get into Le Guin and should really stop trying)
The Ghost Bride, Yangsze Choo (enjoyable, but not nearly as fun as Ghost Bride - the romance felt very disjointed, and could have used another round of editing)
Temptation's Darling, Johanna Lindsey (pure, unadulterated id in a romance novel, complete with a girl dressing as a boy to avoid detection)
Social Creature, Tara Isabella Burton (a strange, dark psychological portrait; really made a mark even though I can't quite put my finger on why)
The Girl on the Train, Paula Hawkins (slow at first, but picks up halfway through and builds nicely; a whiff of Gone Girl with the staggered perspectives building together)
Stealing Thunder, Alina Boyden (fun Tortall vibes, but set in Mughal India)
The Traitor Baru Cormorant; The Monster Baru Commorant, The Tyrant Baru Cormorant, Seth Dickinson (LOVE this, so much misery, terrible, ecstatic; more here)
This Is How You Lose the Time War, Amal El-Mohtar, Max Gladstone (epistolary love poetry, vicious and lovely; more here)
The Elementals, Michael McDowell
Gideon the Ninth, Tamsyn Muir (didn't like this one as much as I thought I would; narrator's contemporary voice was so jarring against the stylized world and action sequences read like the novelization for a video game; more here)
Finna, Nino Cipri (a fun little romp through interdimensional Ikea, if on the lighter side)
Magic for Liars, Sarah Gailey (engrossing, even if I could see every plot twist coming from a mile away)
Desdemona and the Deep, C. S. E. Cooney (enjoyed the weirdness & the fae bits, but very light fare)
A Blink of the Screen, Terry Pratchett (admittedly just read this for the Discworld bits)
A Memory Called Empire, Arkady Martine (not as good about politics and colonialism as Baru, but still a powerful book about The Empire, and EXTREMELY cool worldbuilding that manages to be wholly alien and yet never heavily expositional)
Blackfish City, Sam J. Miller (see my post)
Last Werewolf, Glen Duncan (didn't finish, got to to first explicit sex scene and couldn't get any further)
Prosper's Demon, KJ Parker (didn't work for me...felt like a short story that wanted to be fleshed out into a novel)
The Secret Garden, Frances Hodgson Burnett
His Majesty's Dragon, Naomi Novik (extremely fun, even for a reader who doesn't much like Napoleonic stories)
Three Parts Dead, Max Gladstone (fun romp - hard to believe that this is the same author as Time War though you can see glimmers of it in the imagery here)
A Scot in the Dark, Sarah MacLean (palette cleanser, she does write a good romance novel even it's basically the same romance novel over and over)
The Resurrectionist, E. B. Hudspeth (borrowed it on a whim one night, kept feeling like there was something I was supposed to /get/ about it, but never did - though I liked the Mutter Museum parallels)
Stories of Your Life and Others, Ted Chiang (he's a better ideas guy than a writer, though Hell Is The Absence of God made my skin prickle all over)
Gods of Jade and Shadow, Silvia Moreno-Garcia (fun, very much a throwback to my YA days of fairytale retellings, though obviously less European)
Four Roads Cross, Max Gladstone (it turns out I was a LOT more fond of Tara than I initially realized - plus this book had a good Pratchett-esque pacing and reliance on characterization)
Get in Trouble, Kelly Link (reading this after the Chiang was instructive - Link is such a better storyteller, better at prioritizing the human over the concept)
Gods Behaving Badly, Marie Phillips
Soulless; Changeless; Blameless, all by Gail Carriger (this series is basically a romance novel with some fantasy plot thrown in for fun; extremely charming and funny)
Black Leopard, Red Wolf, Marlon James (got about 1/3 of the way through and had to wave the white flag; will try again because I like the plot and the worldbuilding; the tone is just so hard to get through)
Pew, Catherine Lacey (a strange book, I'm still thinking about it; a good Southern book, though)
Nuremberg Diary, GM Gilbert (it took me two months to finish, and was worth it)
River of Teeth, Sarah Gailey (I wanted to like this one a lot more than I actually did; would have made a terrific movie but ultimately was not a great novel. Preferred Magic for Liars.)
Mexican Gothic, Silvia Moreno-Garcia (extremely fun, though more trippy than Gods and the plot didn't work as well for me - though it was very original)
The New Voices of Fantasy, Peter S. Beagle (collected anthology, with some favorites I've read before Ursula Vernon's "Jackalope Wives", "Hungry Daughters of Starving Mothers" "The Husband Stitch"; others that were great new finds "Selkie Stories are for Losers" from Sofia Satamar and "A Kiss With Teeth" from Max Gladstone and "The Philosophers" from Adam Ehrlich Sachs)

Honesty or Charity?
Not to make a bad pun or use poor irony, but, honestly, Izzy has a bleeding heart. Willow evidently likes to threaten to smack her for it when it comes to how that relates to her now-complicated relationship with Ydris, but I’d have to say she’d chose charity, even if it sacrificed a little bit of honesty.
She’s not a huge fan of lying, either, obviously, but she’s overall the kind of person who wants to see other people happy, she doesn’t want to see them hurt. Daine might be a dumbass for picking a fight with Willow, and she’ll call him out because that’s Daine, but she’s still going to sit there and insist she be the one to put band-aids on to fix it.
Izzy is the kind of person who might feel a bit more guilty if her choice of charity ended up hurting someone in the long run for lack of honesty than someone like Astor, however, since we’re also talking about him on Discord.
Astor’s also a bleeding heart, but it’s balanced with a sense of sometimes brutal honesty. He walks the line of “do no harm, but take no shit” in a lot of things and, while I’m sure many of the probably 20 cats he owns in his modern-day home are rescues for the simple fact that he can’t fucking help himself when it comes to helping someone in-need, his depends far more on the situation when he’s handling someone else. If you need someone to step up and lay out the truth, no matter how big the pill, he’ll do it. If you need comfort a bit more than someone giving you more shit for something, he’s going to take that route. Maybe with a tinge of the honesty because you still need that.

no kiss more snow in the night – all white again and my dressing room sky light darkened – sun out now at 9 20 and F54° had Mr. Husband at 9 gave him a check (no. 93) for his last 3 months wages = £24 due on the 11th ultimo – the 1st time I have ever paid him by check – he said there would be £40 wanted in a/c of the Stump X Inn – said I ought to have known before – must pay by check and should give himself one – had Mr. S. Washington with a notice from Statham to quit the Stump X cottages (late William Green) on the 1st of June – he will have lived there about 4 months – merely observed I should have been glad to have possession sooner – then had just sat down to breakfast when Mr. Cole came for payment of a little bill in a/c of the Northgate hotel (conductor pipes) = £9.4.7 – thought only of Mr. Cole the engineer – said I did not like a high pressure engine – had told Mr. Harper to settle about it – had got a plan of a low pressure engine – gave Mr. Cole payable to Messrs. Stuges and co. a check no. 94 for £9.4.6 – then had David Mallinson joiner and Firth plumber with each an order from Mr. Harper in a/c of the hotel and gave the former check 95 for £300 and the latter check 96 for £70. then breakfast till 11 – then with A- till she sent off her letter to her sister – Little Mary to come with Hannah – their home to be here knows nothing of Pitchforth but what I learnt yesterday (from Mr. Parker) that his name is Solmon, brother to P- who has the Boothroyde – that (all that A- mentions to Mrs. Sutherland) he is very respectable and married the daughter of Mr. Hulings excise collector here and a man of property – but that all things considered A- and I would not be anxious to sell the most valuable part of the field on the terms proposed Had they not best get the field set out and valued in building lots before they sold any of it, and then they would know what they were doing? – A- said I said they could not be wrong in selling 500 or 600 yards of Landymere stone to a person sufficiently respectable and substantial – and that quantity enough to sell at 1st – should be staked out, and Mr. Parker accustomed to stone-agreements would make all safe – A- took my advice in merely (after giving copy of the plan and saying the road was made a high way for carts and carriages day and night and would not the best way of stopping this be by building a Lodge) A- took my advice in merely asking what they thought of acting upon Benomies’ plan or something like it – adding that if anything was done about it they should be at no expense and the new [part] the road would of course be as much theirs as the present road – Mr. S. Gray is coming – A- will consult him – I think he will advice judiciously - and I am satisfied – I cannot help feeling my own credit (the credit of my own taste) at stake; and I am anxious that A-‘s concerns should never appear to have interested me less than my own – came to my study at 11 ¾ - had Stephen Mallinson carpenter (did not see him) paid him by check 97 £19.2.6 in a/c of the Stump x Inn new building – wrote all the above of today till 12 ½ - then inking over memoranda in my rough book – and a little while with A- Little John who took to the post her letter to Mrs. Sutherland brought for me note from the Halifax philosophical society a paper ‘on the geographic distribution of planets’ to be read on Monday – and a letter from M- Lawton 3pp. and ends – altering the offices at Lawton – all in bustle – just off to Leamington – their house there to be given up 1 June, and Mr. Ackers has lent them Moreton, near Lawton so that they may overlook the alterations at home – the N-s Isabella and Charlotte mortally offended at Burnett for being housekeeper to their brother instead of themselves and disgusted at Ellens’ indifference on the loss of her mother Mrs. Best – Had James Wood and wrote him (all my regular checks done) check n°98 = £20 in a/c of masons’ work at the Stump X Inn – then wrote the last 9 lines till 1 ½ - from 1 ½ to 3 ¾ (A- off to Cliff Hill between 2 and 3) at colliery accounts – then out till came in (just after A-) at 5 ½ - with the masons (4?) at the meer head clow – then with Robert + 3 filling hollow down to the meer between the 2 brooks Ings old hedge-row – and at new drain in Sour Ing, John Day carting clay from this new drain to fill up the hollow as above – Edward and James at carriage house court necessary front wall – and Ingham + 2 or 3 at the dry walling there this afternoon – dressed – had the 2 Manns (who came at 5 ½) till 6 55 – settled with them talked over the Spiggs water clow and mentioned 1st time John O-‘s opinion that it would be best to bring the Incline out at once at the top of the bank – Joseph M- thought we could not get water – desired them to think the matter over – dinner at 7 – A- asleep on the sofa in the north parlour 50 minutes – coffee at 9 – I had sat reading Wordsworth’s Attica and Athens from p.136 to 180 – came upstairs at 10 ½ - till 12 firing off my pistols – had John up to put in a new flint, and see what was the matter with the percussion pistil – the powder damp – dried it – surely all is right now – finish morning – snow and hail and very wintry afternoon from before 2 – fair in the evening – F30° now at 12 10 tonight
