"It'd be wrong to turn back now after getting in this deep. Besides, I get the feeling the ones we saw in the Hollow weren't the only ones interested in a ransom. Besides...how could I say no to a face like that?" She beamed at Elliot, ruffling his head fur.
Lycaon would see a bit of text in his vision that said, "*COLETTE joined the party!"
She stood up from her seat and said, "Looks like duty calls, Chop-san. Next time, don't hold back on the spice." She winked at him, a sparkling effect appearing near her right eye.
"Briefly, but yes," Mrs. DeVry nodded, pushing up her glasses. "I hired him and his staff to help out with various tasks every now and then, one of them included looking after our penthouse while we were out to the beach for Camellia Golden Week not too long back. They've even managed to catch some thieves who were looking for things to steal in our home office."
"How did you and Papa find me?" Elliot asked.
"Here," the human man with the manbun and beard took off his sunglasses and hung it from his shirt's collar as he knelt before the Thiren pup, taking a circular pin from his school uniform's suit jacket and twisting off the top part, revealing some wires and a circuit board with an LED light flashing between red and green on top of it.
A tracker, Lycaon privately noted, looking at it with interest.
"Your mother, Kurt, and I tried our best to track you down with it the moment we heard that the kidnappers used our voices to trick the school staff into letting you go home early," the man explained. "We thought about calling the HIA, maybe even find some Proxies, when your signal stopped at the Hollow. Thank goodness Lycaon was there."
"How can we ever repay you?" Mrs. DeVry inquired.
"That won't be necessary, Mr. and Mrs. DeVry," Lycaon shook his head. "But in return, perhaps you can tell me what you know about Elliot's kidnappers?"
"Of course, but not here," Mr. DeVry replied, turning his head back. "Kurt, prep the car. We're going back home."
"Understood," the Dobermann Thiren nodded as he left.
"Would you like to come along as well, Ms. Colette?" Lycaon asked.

Poll is finished! I’m glad to see Colette is a favorite, because she has a lot of stories coming up in the last half of book 5 and into book 6. And well, she really has a lot of issues to sort out, so that should be fun, lol!
And Lou and Jamie! I’ll consider them runners up, even though they only got one vote more than the others. Lou has only been a supporting character so far, but in books 6 and 7 she has more of her own story arc, so we can look forward to that, too.
Thanks for reading and playing along, everyone! ❤️
Okay, so, probably most of you reading this don’t know who these characters are at all. I have gained and lost (and gained and lost and so on…) so many friendly faces on these blogs over the years. The people who were reading when some of these stories were in their moment have moved on to other things. That’s the hazard of writing long long stories that go way way back, I guess.
But anyway, I remain curious. All of these storylines are going to happen in one form or another, whether they make it to the blog or not. But I’d like to know where I should put more or less of my energy and screen time, which stories are you most interested to read about in the coming months???
I kind of wish you could vote for your favorite 2-3 choices, for a fair distribution. But I don’t know of any cheats for that. If you do know a cheat, please share! Otherwise, if you want to vote for more than one, you can discuss which ones in the comments.
Intentionally leaving Jordan and Maria off the list, because you’re getting more of them whether you want it or not! Also, I think I would be unreasonably devastated if they came in dead last or something.
I mean, you’re welcome to dislike them if you want, but I’d rather not know it. 🤪

Grandfathers drink tea and discuss children:-D
I was playing brawl and accidentally realized that Byron looks very similar to the humanized Megs. I guess it's fate.
