Blinking, Mrs. DeVry gasped softly as though she was snapping out of a trance. “Ah, yes, about that…”
Before she could continue, Kurt - the Doberman Thiren bodyguard - appeared at the top of the stairs leading to the second floor of the penthouse.
“The bath is ready, Mrs. DeVry,” he reported. “Water’s still hot.”
“Alright. You go on ahead, Elliot,” the female labrador gently nudged her son off the couch. “Your father and I need to have a private talk with Mr. Lycaon and Ms. Colette.”
“Okay,” Elliot nodded, giving a small wave to Lycaon and his companion. “I’ll see you in a bit!”
The white wolf butler smiled gently, nodding at Elliot with acknowledgement as he watched the labrador pup climbed up the stairs and followed the family’s bodyguard to the bathroom. Once he was gone, Bryan - or Mr. DeVry - took a seat on the couch next to his wife.
Mrs. DeVry smiled briefly at her husband, then cleared her throat.
"Anyway, Bryan and I had the feeling that something like this would happen," she admitted, frowning. "Recently, we've been the target of harassment from numerous strangers, both in real life and online. I still remember the day when we went out for a morning jog, someone splashed us with hot coffee. He screamed at Bryan, yelling about how his family had ruined his life and how they're going to all pay for it."
"Not only that, but my wife and I have also received hate mails, a few of them coming from someone named 'Lady Nevermore," Bryan added. "Here. This is the one I got after the car got graffitied few days ago."
He took out a note, unfolded it, and put it on the coffee table before Lycaon and Colette. A sentence, written with ink in a large yet fanciful font, reads:
"I will take from you a price of flesh and blood." - Lady Nevermore
Colette took her cola and punctured it with one of her keys, tilting the can to the side and popping the top. Cola quickly flowed into her mouth, Colette gulping periodically, not spilling a drop in the process. In a few seconds, she crushed the empty can between her palm and her forehead, closed her fingers around it, and burned it away with a magical flame. With that same hand, she charismatically pointed at Mrs. DeVry and said, "So, you were saying about the people who tried taking our boy here for ransom?"

I was playing brawl and accidentally realized that Byron looks very similar to the humanized Megs. I guess it's fate.
