Lycaon sighed, easing his overprotective embrace on the Thiren Child as he glanced around at the mysterious woman's handiwork, or at least, glimpses of them before the carbonized Ethereals' bodies turn into jumbled, garish messes of blocky pixels. Elongated strands of grey smoke stretched towards the sky as the ground around them remain aridly hot.

"Thank you for your timely assistance," Lycaon's head bowed gratefully. "Now, let's hurry."

Quickly re-securing his grip on the little Labrador clinging to his chest, the Wolf Thiren attendant sprinted once more, leaping and bounding wherever he could even as his Carrot began that cliched yet dreaded countdown from the 10 seconds mark.

"9...8...7...6..."

A Tyrfing stumbled into his path, its arm-blade ready.

"5..."

Lycaon's brows furrowed.

"4..."

One of his legs tensed.

"3..."

He jumped, a fierce cry escaping his throat.

"2..."

His extended foot connected - harshly - at its core-like head.

"1."

He, the Child, and the monster all went into the fissure together.

Somewhere, in another urban landscape...

Another spatial fissure manifested, hovering slightly above the ground. Lycaon and his charge emerged from it soon after, the former landing gracefully on his feet with a gentle grunt. Strangely enough, the Tyrfing he kicked earlier was nowhere to be seen.

He turned back and looked at the ink-like portal, expectation evident in his laser-focus gaze.

Colette imitated a cavalry charge as she stormed toward the Ethereals, sword in hand as she slew the Hati in question with one swipe. "Stay still!" she called to Lycaon and the child, pointing her hand towards them with her thumb and two fingers up. A bright orange circle appeared on the ground, surrounding the two. She then crouched and struck the ground with a hammer fist, a massive explosion of flames appearing and burning every Ethereal around them to ash. The spell she cast on the two canines would have protected them from the flames.

With the Ethereals dead, Colette got up a bit slowly, her stomach growling loudly. "Mama's gonna need a lot more than Carrots..."
