#is this really whimsy colored?

I was given an eyeshadow palette for christmas. Its lovely, but what gets me is the shade that they named, "whimsical". its beige. its just tannish beige. the least whimsical color out there. Its aggressively neutral. It is arguably the opposite of whimsical anyway my new thing now is that whenever I spot something vaguely grayish-tannish-brownish-beigeish I say "Its whimsy colored!"

I will inevitably confuse someone with this. Looking forward to that.

watched one of those "reacting to bad art tiktoks!" videos because i was bored and wow this guy hates color theory because "almost every digital artist uses the actual color of the object and then uses a layer effect to bring the colors closer together" do you not want to know WHY the layer effect works? do you not want to know how to do this without a layer over it??? also sometimes. the layer effect looks worse. than if you pick the colors yourself. wild i know, its almost like the human brain can tell what looks good and a computer just does whatever you tell it to. like its literally GOOD advice if you dont want to use it go ahead, no one is stopping you... sorry im trusting the professional animator over some guy who can only draw big boobed women

with the new atla adaptation, im left to wonder once again: when will people realize that adapting animation to live action will almost always never work?

animation automatically gives you a suspension of disbelief because the world not only bends around to the animation style ( such as exaggerated movements or facial expressions ) but your mind sees it and recognizes that it's not real. it's much harder to sell that disbelief when it's real people on screen who cannot move like animation does. like there's no way to mimic the way aang moves or the way the characters fight.

and if you're trying to adapt a fantasy, it needs to be a spectacle. i haven't seen any animation to live action remakes that put their all into the effects or the scenes or even just the wonder of the world.

because that's expensive and most remakes are cash grabs that don't pay their team enough nor give them enough time to actually create.

anyways, adaptations are always going to lose some of the essence of the original and that's okay but you can't lose sight of why that art was made in the first place.

its true that complimenting strangers is fun and nice. people will go "awwww really" when you say their hair is cute. people will go "thanks" and straighten up a little when you compliment the colors they're wearing. people will say "oh yeah i got it at (place)" if you say a charm on their bag is cool. people really do appreciate it and its very whimsy and you can just do this for free
