People need to chill on assuming fandom preferences are evidence of my personal moral code. I’m sorry, did you say I like my blorbo because I’m “racist”? That’s such a leap My Guy. That’s just an insane thing to put out there. Just randomly pinning something that loaded on me? Because I write little stories about a little guy? You think my coffee shop AU makes me a child predator? You think I’m abusive to my partner because I like enemies to lovers? Good sweet cheesecake, that’s so mean and so rude. And also so bombastically stupid.

Catharsis: Christmas Special
Phos!Reader x Teen!Gojo Satoru and Teen!Geto Suguru
Warnings: Gojo - centric, usual angst, fluff if you squint, major character death, dead bodies, set in 2006, lots of talks of politics, death, murder, trauma, morals, etc, borderline bullying? (Satoru is a jerk), self - blaming, grief, and all it's stages, trouble processing and understanding emotions, Gojo is seriously just his own warning
Notes: Merry Christmas!!!
"You're weak. Why do you bother being a sorceror?"
Satoru's words make you freeze, eyes widening at their bluntness. He doesn't react, however, because in his mind, he's simply telling you the truth.
You're weak. He's known that from the moment you set foot in this classroom almost three months ago.
He doesn't understand why Suguru and Shoko seem so fond of you. All you do is get into trouble, injure yourself, and make it everyone's problem to save you. You can't fight, your Cursed Technique is subpar, not to mention that you're annoying.
Stepping into battle like some sort of self-righteous hero knowing full well that if a curse so much as touches you, you'll crumble. Literally. That's another thing he finds annoying about you. How easily your skin chips and cracks like porcelain revealing an ocean of Phosphophyllite underneath.
You can't lift anything heavy, you can't fight, you can't help out without injuring yourself, you're clumsy, you're annoying, and the list could go on.
What he finds the most annoying about you, however, is your soft voice going, "Gojo - san, are you alright? You look tired", "Gojo - san, you should rest, you don't need to use your technique so often", "Gojo - san, you haven't eaten yet, so I brought you this, I hope you don't mind".
Gojo - san this, Gojo - san that, God. You drive him crazy. How do you manage to see through every front he puts up? Every act? Even Shoko and Suguru can't see through it, and yet you have the audacity to call him out.
You're a liability in battle, and you're practically useless, more like the team's overglorified mascot. So, for the life of him, Satoru doesn't understand why everyone likes you so much. Even Nanami, his grouchy underclassman, doesn't seem to mind you.
What annoys Satoru the most, however, is the tug his heart feels when he looks at you. Because no matter how he tries to deny it, you're growing on him like a parasite, and a part of him wishes he was as close to you as they were.
"I am weak." You agree, seemingly taking no offence to Satoru's question. It's just you and him in the classroom. You're standing at your desk, bag still in hand, and he's sitting a desk, two desks behind yours. Shoko and Suguru are still on their way, and he's taken this opportunity to ask you what he's been dying to.
Satoru's eyes widen at your response.
"If you know you're weak, why do you try so hard? It's kind of pathetic, you know." His brows furrow, glasses sliding down his nose bridge as he tilts his head.
"I- because, I'm selfish, I guess." You say softly.
There it is again. That annoying soft tone of voice that makes his chest hurt whenever he hears it.
"I know I'm weak, but I want to keep trying. I want to fight. One day, I want to be able to repay everyone for everything they've done for me. Yaga - sensei, Shoko, Suguru, Ken, Yuu. Even you, Gojo - san. I want you to be able to rely on me. I want to be able to protect innocent people like you guys do. So I hope you can bear with me for a little more, Gojo - san. I'm sorry for being such a burden, but I promise I'll pay you back." You say earnestly, looking Gojo in the eye.
Satoru's eyes widen, and he's silent for a moment. Before he bursts out laughing.
You suddenly feel embarrassed. You were being serious and heartfelt, and all Gojo does in response is laugh.
"What's with that? Did you quote that from an anime?" He cackles, hitting the desk with one hand and holding his stomach with the other.
"I- I did not! I was being honest!" You defend, feeling the heat tinting your cheeks.
"If- if you really want to repay me, buy me something sweet from the vending machine." Satoru stutters between fits of giggles.
"OK, I'm on it." You nod, turning on your tail to leave the class. A hand grabs your shoulder, stopping you.
"Where are you going?" Satoru asks, leaning down to look you in the eye.
"The vending machine?" You reply, brows furrowed in confusion.
"You're going now?"
"Yeah? I'll be back really quickly."
Satoru scoffs, but there's a smile on his face nonetheless.
"Really? I'll time you then. You have 5 minutes." He challenges, smirking as he tilts his head at you.
"5- 5 minutes?" You stutter, eyes wide. The vending machine was on the other side of the school. There's no way you'd make it back in 5 minutes.
"Yeah. The clock is ticking. Didn't you say you'd pay me for saving your butt all those times?" He mocks.
Satoru's eyes widen as you put down your bag, determination clear on your face.
"I did. I might not be back in 5 minutes, but I'll be back in less than 10!"
"Hey, wait-"
And with that, you've rushed out the classroom, leaving Satoru absolutely bewildered. As he sticks his head out the door, watching you run and almost slip multiple times, Satoru thinks he's figured it out. He understands why Shoko and Suguru keep you around.
You're amusing. And he wants to get closer to you.
Unfortunately, things never go as planned. And if Satoru had known the outcome before, he would have tried to get to know you much sooner.
Things change quickly when you're a Jujutsu Sorceror. People come and go, live, and die. They change, they evolve. People grow apart, and people grow closer.
Regardless, it's not a pleasant feeling when you lose someone close to you.
Gojo Satoru had never thought the day would come when he'd feel regret. He was the strongest, after all. Everything he wanted he got. The world was his oyster. Money, power, good looks, everything. So it's safe to say that loss was also a new concept to him.
A feeling he decided he'd prefer to live without.
It hurt in a way he couldn't explain. He felt as if he couldn't breathe, as if there were something heavy on his chest. Almost as if he were having an out of body experience but could feel whatever the stranger he saw when he looked in the mirror felt. Pain. Anger. Despair.
Cold and light. That's how your body felt in his arms. He couldn't bear to look at the white cloth covering it. This, this couldn't be you. This body in his arms, the broken shards of its head cutting into the cloth.
Yet it was still vivid. Amanai Riko running out and finding him, letting him know that you had died saving her. A bullet straight to the head. Pushing her into Suguru's arms and telling him to run with your last breath. Riko's tear filled face as she begged for him to help Suguru because she couldn't bear to have anyone else die because of her.
Since then, he's felt numb. It hasn't faded. The coldness in his skin, the haze of his reality, brain clouded as it was forced to process the events that had taken place.
"Suguru... should we kill them all? I probably wouldn't feel anything right now."
Did he say something? The words don't register in his mind. Was that his voice? Raw and soft.
Them. The higher-ups. If only he had known earlier that they were supportive of your death. That there was a bounty for your head somewhere.
He didn't know why. He didn't know anything. You had kept so much to yourself. Just what were you dealing with alone? All this time, smiling wide, eyes always sparkling, hiding everything behind your carefree, happy - go - lucky persona.
You didn't deserve this. You of all people. You weren't weak. You were sweet, kind, caring, and selfless to a fault.
This was not you. Lifeless in his arms. You were never this cold.
He remembered it, how warm your hands were all those time your fingers brushed his forehead to check if he was well, when your fingers brushed his whenever you handed him something, how warm they were when you held his face in your hands and scolded him for being reckless. He remembered it vividly.
What would you say if you saw him now? The exhaustion in his face, the blankness in his eyes, the way his- his hands were... trembling?
He could hear your voice, clear as day.
"Gojo - san! What happened to you!"
"You should really take care of yourself more, what were you thinking?"
"I don't care if you're one of the strongest! You're a teenager. Right now, you're just Satoru, and you're going to learn to be kinder to yourself. You- you don't deserve this."
What did Satoru deserve? Was it really kindness? Care? Gentleness? Love? He had messed up. If he had been stronger, he could have saved you. If he had been stronger, you wouldn't be dead in his arms.
What was the point of awakening his powers when they weren't there when it mattered? What was the point of being the strongest if he couldn't protect the people he cared about? The people he loved?
What made matters worse was finding out the higher-ups were happy you were gone. The people that had singlehandedly been the cause for his suffering. His. Suguru's. Shoko's. Yours. Those filthy old bags who only thought of themselves.
What would really happened if he killed them all? Would it really be such a bad thing? Weren't they supposed to be the pillars of the Jujutsu world? The elders for people to look up to and learn from. A symbol of hope, something, anything even remotely positive, beneficial to the future of the young next generation of Jujutsu Sorcerors?
All they had done was applaud the death of someone innocent. A teenager. A child. How dare these self-righteous ba-
Your hand falls from the covers of the white sheet, hanging limply.
Satoru's brain goes blank. A pale arm, an empty hand, and familiar phosphophyllite fingernails.
"No need. It's meaningless." Suguru's voice is low, as if the reality that you're gone hasn't hit him yet. His eyes linger on your hand. The palm that patted his back, the fingers that ran through his hair, the hand that was so warm in his.
Before he can stop himself, he finds his own hand grasping it. It's cold. He drops it like the contact physically hurt him.
"Without the higher-ups, the Jujutsu world will go up in flames. And even if they die, there's the possibility even worse people will come into power. Killing them won't bring her back either."
His words don't make sense, even to him, but Suguru utters them nonetheless. The look in Satoru's eye is enough to tell him that if he doesn't do anything, today will mark the beginning of a massacre. And although he feels the same anger Satoru does, Suguru's moral compass, as well as his understanding of the type of person you are... stops him.
"Meaning... huh?" Satoru repeats.
The Satoru in front of him is not the Satoru Suguru knows. The playful, snarky, overburdened boy replaced by something else. Something unfamiliar. Something... cold.
"Do we need that?"
Suguru hesitates for a split second. The girl in Satoru's arms is just as unfamiliar. A bubbly, bright, kind girl replaced by something else. Something unfamiliar. Something... almost sinful. A shell. An empty shell. The existence it harboured long gone. A disgrace to the being it had once been.
"Yeah. It's very important... for sorcerors."
Your corpse wouldn't decompose. The crystallisation forming a perfect seal to your body, and perhaps that's why they can't bring themselves to immediately bury you.
Clinging onto the false hope that perhaps you'd wake up, bounce back like always. Familiar head of teal hair poking over Suguru's shoulder, a second softer set of footsteps padding behind Satoru's, a warm hand flinching at the touch of Shoko's cold ones.
It's sickening. How quiet everything has become in your absence. How the shadows seem darker due to the absence of your light.
Perhaps you wouldn't know it, but your death was beneficial in a way. Suguru spiralled into depression but your words of the past kept him strong, and somehow, he managed to graduate with Satoru and Shoko.
They left an empty seat between them at graduation. Your certificate is still in Shoko's office to this day.
Your warnings and nagging that reminded everyone of their mother saved Haibara's life. You had always told them to never accept missions alone, and it was thanks to your words ringing in his head that Nanami became paranoid while Haibara was out on a mission. This led to him going out to check on Haibara and ended in him saving his life.
It was almost idealistic how almost everyone graduated that year. A rare thing in the Jujutsu World to have so many young people survive.
Satoru jokes its because you took on the unwanted burden and closed the gates of Heaven yourself. You always did. Eating the bitter parts of his food that he didn't like, letting everyone choose first when Yaga gave you rewards, not touching your food until everyone had started eating. You always took on the unpleasantries so that everyone else could live without knowing suffering.
Why did everyone deserve happiness except for you?
Why did everyone deserve to live except for you?
"Gojo - Sensei."
"So even Sensei sleeps, huh?"
"Of course he does. What kind of nonsense is that?"
Satoru's eyelids flutter. He pulls up his blindfold, his vision coming into focus as he sees a blurry image of his students.
For a split moment, he's in high school again. He's in his second year, and he's sleeping before class. He hears soft footsteps approach him. Feels someone lean down near him, but he's not scared. Not even annoyed.
Rather, he plays dumb and waits in anticipation. There's butterflies bursting in his chest, a smile pulling at his face that's hidden in his arms. Smirking at the familiar scent of yuzu and caramel engulfing his senses. He'd chosen it, after all.
"Gojo - san? Wake up, class is about to start."
"Gojo - sensei!"
But when his visions focuses fully, he realises it's been 12 years and his beloved students have visited his office.
"Oh, he's awake!"
There's a red rim to Satoru's eyes, but it's almost unnoticeable. He smiles before pulling his blindfold back down.
"Please don't fall asleep after summoning us all here." Megumi states.
Satoru stands up, and Yuji and Nobara are quick to fight over who gets to sit on his chair.
"What are you smiling about?"
It's today. By 4 that morning, Satoru had found himself sat in front of a familiar grave. He was always the first to visit. He brings a bouquet of white heliotrope and places it on the grave. He crouches in front of it, his blindfold tucked away in his pocket.
"Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy Birthday, dear Y/n. Happy Birthday to you."
If there's one thing Satoru wishes, it's that he was able to tell you his feelings truthfully while you were still alive. It's unhealthy, but he finds himself uttering the same three words on every occasion to a stone in the ground.
If only he could have seen your pretty face while he uttered them in person.
Satoru doesn't know if he believes in the afterlife, but he hopes you're listening. And maybe, just maybe, you're screaming at the top of your lungs, repeating the words in hopes he'd somehow hear.
"It's nothing."
A lie. Because deep down, Satoru knows he's thinking about a certain place, a certain person.
Maybe in his next life, he can finally go home to you.

I need more focus on the fact that the marauders are a bunch of shitty teenage boys that think they're the shit.
Like Regulus and Sirius are the gossip brothers. When you're near them and they're sitting together, you don't just think that they're judging you, you know. They're 100% the type of people to look you up and down then go and whisper to each other. Whenever one of them has a crush, they're quick to stare at the person enough to make them uncomfortable. When Sirius told Regulus about his crush on Remus, he stared at the taller boy for so long before shrugging, "He doesn't look bad, I guess. Maybe a bit scrawny."
Or childhood friends Remus and James, who everyone thinks are incredibly kind people that couldn't hurt a fly if they even wanted to, but behind closed doors, they are the meanest fucking people you've ever met. They communicate with their eyes the second that someone they don't like (but said person assumes they like them because they don't treat them any differently, only to talk about them behind their back) says something fucking ridiculous. James rushes into the dorm, throws themself on Remus' bed and shouts, "Did you fucking see what Gideon was wearing? Why did he think that looked good on him?"
And when the four of them come together, when Jegulus and Wolfstar start dating, the four of them are absolutely unstoppable.
We need to remember that the marauders thought that they were hot shit, and they were assholes with all of their pranks and bullying Snape. We need to lean into that more. They're a bunch of teenage boys and I have never met anyone more vicious and mean than a group of self-righteous teenagers.

What is Voldemort's favorite and least favorite thing about each of his partners?
Sirius: Voldemort would have a very hard time picking one favourite thing. He values Sirius' loyalty, his bravery, his wild nature; he is fascinated by the dual nature of Sirius, how he can be a perfect, well mannered, high society man, yet he can also be a cruel, vicious dog (and not just when he transforms into Padfoot). How Sirius can be kind and selfless one moment, and then turn around and bully someone just because he can. He likes Sirius' sense of humour, and he is blown away by how fearless he is, how reckless, even in the face of death, something Voldemort fears so much. Sirius is the type to live in the moment, make the most of it, something Voldemort never learned how to do. I think what gets to Voldemort the most is that Sirius is, at his core, a good man (at least by Voldemort's standards) but he's not 'stupidly' good or kind, he's not preachy about it, he's not self righteous. Voldemort can experience being around a good man, probably for the first time...ever, but not as 'good' as to hate Voldemort on principle alone. Voldemort is made of darkness, and he's attracted to Sirius' light, and yet he's also in understanding with Sirius' darker side, which allows them to at least have some morals, or lack of morals, in common, enough to have a foundation for a relationship.
His least favourite thing about Sirius is that he cares too much about people that aren't Voldemort, has strong, impossible to break bonds to so many other people.
Albus: Voldemort's favourite thing about Albus is his genius and nerdiness. He is not one to be easily impressed by intelligence, since Voldemort himself is a genius, but Albus is his equal in this regard. Same goes for his magical skill. They truly are equals, and no one else can match them. And they both experience a type of loneliness that only men like them would know, because they are so different from everyone around them, no one can possible relate to such---beings made of big brains and magic.
His least favourite thing about Albus is what he perceives as hypocrisy. That, and Albus' determination to do the right thing, to protect everyone he can.
Gellert: His ambition and willingness to do whatever it takes to get ahead. The 'eyes on the prize' mentality. He's also attracted by Gellert's power and understanding of dark magic.
His least favourite thing is the regret Gellert sometimes exhibits.
Abraxas: he's beautiful and rich, and a young Tom Riddle likes both those things. He's fascinated with Abraxas' inherited status, with the power and influence he carries just because he was born with the right name. Tom hates Abraxas for it, is deeply jealous, but at the same time, having Abraxas is like touching those things himself, in a way. He likes that Abraxas, who could have anyone, who could have a pureblood with a name as ancient as his own, wants no-one Tom Riddle, obsessively so.
He detests Abraxas' cowardice most of all.
Bella: While she's pretty much perfect all around, Voldemort values her unflinching loyalty, her complete devotion to him, her lack of fear and her extreme bravery.
He finds no fault in her.

TBH I am sympathetic but unconvinced by the idea that we should be more permissive of people being cunts online, and that there's actually limited utility to complaining about an artist being an asshole when we can simply ignore and unfollow them and never have to deal with their unpleasantness. Y'know, live and let live and all that good stuff.
The problem I see with that attitude is twofold though. For one, "your ability to swing your fist ends where it meets my face", to paraphrase the saying. Yes, majority of online negativity is nontargeted and harmless and it's up to every one of us personally to ignore things that make us feel bad, but negativity doesn't have to be targeted to be harmful. There are a million funnyperson accounts on social media whose whole online presence revolves around finding posts to dunk on for such significant crimes as "being inarticulate" or "being overly sincere" and "not being politically aligned or convinced by the commentator's politics" and most of the time when this happens, people will turn on the OP for daring to be like "hey if you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all", for daring to want to be left alone.
This forwards the idea that bully logic like "if you don't want to be picked on then don't have qualities that can be picked on" and there's a real risk that being permissive towards accepting asshole behaviour when we don't like the target means that it's almost impossible to call out the same behaviour when it's done at someone who doesn't deserve it. Self-justification is a hell of a drug.
And for another, rewarding people for bad coping is not a victimless action, either! I have yet to see a single person who is just fucking mean all the time not be in some kind of a state of distress. I've talked before about how people on Tumblr have a really bad habit of feeding people's anger issues, literally rewarding meltdowns and lashing out with positive attention in the name of supporting someone's "righteous" anger, but also rewarding people's cool zingers that put them at an emotional high ground of being less invested has the exact same effect, punishing sincerity and rewarding emotionless posturing and facetiousness.
There's just... a real misunderstanding about what kind of treatment actually enables people to "act badly", and a real lack of understanding about how feelings and affect work. Someone being negative all the time is making themselves miserable -- if they're constantly rewarded for their negativity with attention they're going to make themselves more miserable.

can we let sirius be a three dimensional, sometimes cruel character?
i’m a snape hater first and foremost and he definitely didn’t deserve any kind of redemption arc. his inability to understand lily as a three dimensional person, not an object, and his comfort bullying children is heinous. that being said, i have some marauders thoughts.
sirius and james bullied him. i don’t necessarily agree with people’s takes about the pantsing incident, mostly because middle schoolers pantsing each other is a trope that was heavily relied on in the early 2000s, so i think the understand was supposed to be about a cruel humiliation angle, not a sa/assault angle. however, pantsing snape was a cruel thing to do, and our boys did it because it was a cruel thing to do.
sirius inherited cruelty, and i think he struggled to understand how to be different from how he was raised. in his youth, walking the line between kind and mean was the only thing he knew how to do. he had a short fuse, a righteous sense of fairness, and a lot more power running through his veins then he knew what to do with.
he sent snape to the whomping willow, even though it could’ve hurt remus. he believed his lover was a spy instead of talking to him. i wholeheartedly believe he was one to get into bar fights. anyways, i’m just saying let him be cruel and toxic and problematic. i don’t love writing sirius because he’s perfect, i love writing him because he’s complex. he has a self destructive complex and an ego and is an extremely powerful wizard. those things don’t always mean goody two shoes Do-Gooder

orv au based on one thousand and one nights where kim dokja is the sacrificial bride of his town to be wed to the kingdom's tyrannical king yoo joonghyuk .
kdj is used to being alone . ever since his mother left without a single word after she was accused of dabbling in the dark arts , he's left to bear the scrutinising gazes of the villagers . rumours circulate in whispers , though he hears them all the same , accusing him of inheriting his mother's curse because why else does he have that strange gloominess surrounding him ? he becomes an easy target for bullying , but he never goes down quietly . after all , he has fought better with words .
because if one thing is for certain , kdj is observant . he will listen to their self-righteous words and hear their venomous secrets , take in their luxurious robes and see what they try to hide , endure their beatings and find their weakest spots . no matter how badly he aches nor how suffocating his heart , he finds the right words and strikes where it hurts .
and once they throw the first punch , well , it's self defense is it not ?
and kdj is resigned to his fate . he doesn't expect to find kindness in others , for life as a mundane citizen in a kingdom constantly on the brink of war makes no room for generosity .
but he meets good people .
yoo sangah who sneaks him bread for breakfast every morning ;
han sooyoung who throws him stolen books from the scornful librarian ;
lee hyunsung who defends him when the fights get too rough ;
jung heewon who offers him a place to hide when running is the only option .
so kdj is content .
until one day , the village head wants to rise higher in the ranks of nobility , and secretly makes a deal with the party that opposes the supreme king . the laws of the kingdom mandate that the king's bride must be chosen by the council of nobles , so they scheme to find a bride who can remove the king once and for all .
so the village head thinks of kdj , rumoured to have inherited his mothers dark arts , and offers him up as a sacrificial bride .
before kdj can even try to escape , he's drugged and whisked away to the supreme king's castle .
when he wakes up to the glint of a blade aimed directly at his throat , kdj does the only thing that comes to mind in his desperation to see another day .
"let me tell you a story , before i go . "
momentarily stunned by kdj's bravado , yjh allows it with cruel amusement .
so kdj just talks .
he tells him the story of a gamer who is thrown into an apocalyptic world where death comes knocking at every moment . he rambles on and on , scrounging every nook and cranny of his brain to glean each detail to bring the story to life . as each hour passes , yjh slowly lowers his sword and sits back to hear the story .
and just as the first slivers of sunlight start to break over the horizon , kdj says this :
" and that is the end of the protagonist's first life . "
" ... first ? "
" yes, your majesty . "
" how many lives does he have after this one ? "
" one thousand more . "
the corner of yjh's lips quirk up slightly , though kdj doesn't dare to call it a smile . it's obvious that the man has seen through his plot , though he doesn't comment on it .
" to a thousand nights of our marriage , then . nothing more , nothing less . "
then night after night , kdj is brought to yjh's chambers to continue his story . their interactions begin to bleed into daylight , as yjh seems to gradually integrate kdj into his life . he gets to know lee jihye , commander of the royal guard , lee gilyoung and shin yoosung , caretakers of the beasts etc. and he grows attached to them .
for some unfathomable reason , yjh even allows kdj to contact his old friends .
as each day passes , kdj gets to know the elusive king a little more . their banter never gets tiresome , and it is always a delight for kdj to see a glimpse underneath that cold mask he hides behind . he starts to genuinely care for him .
perhaps a bit too much .
so when the deadline of their marriage arrives , kdj makes a decision .
" ... and that is the end of my story . "
" kim dokja , why won't you look at me ? "
" why are you doing this to me ? "
" doing what ? "
" doing such cruel things to me . i have no more stories to tell , meaning that my time , no matter how delayed , is now up . today is the date of my execution , yet you still look at me as if I were your most prized possession , when I no longer hold any value . "
" your stories do not equate to your value , kim dokja . "
" do you mean for me to believe that you will continue to keep me by your side even when I have no story left to tell ? "
" why would you believe anything else ? "
" my story is finished , what other story is there left for me to share ? "
" then , my beloved , perhaps we shall write our own story . together . "

Listen, yeah most of these kids claiming to have DID, and especially those who claim to have it without trauma, are faking, but some of those people may genuinely have DID and may genuinely think they developed without trauma because their brain is still suppressing/blacking out the trauma or the alters who do remember the trauma may not feel comfortable/safe enough yet to come forth and share it
One thing about DID is that it will more often than not come with dissociative amnesia. The people in the "endo" community who do actually have DID and not some other disorder with overlapping symptoms, and those who aren't just outright faking, just don't remember their trauma yet, or they simply can't accept that DID is a trauma based disorder and find it too scary to accept the fact that without their trauma they wouldn't exist, so they desperately cling to the community that says otherwise even though that community is causing harm and massive misinformation to people with DID
Saying you can DID without trauma is like saying you can have PTSD without trauma. It's literally impossible, as both those disorders are born from trauma. Sure, you may not remember your trauma, and you are showing all the symptoms, and so you believe you have the symptoms without the source, but the trauma is still there. It still happened
If you truly have alters and you truly believe you never been traumatized and that your brain just splintered off into multiple personalities without trauma, please, I mean this genuinely with the upmost kindness, seek some kind of therapy and help, even if that help is an a free online forum or something within you budget and physical limits
If you have alters, you have trauma, even if you don't remember it, and while it will hurt to re-remember it and process it, it will result in much more happiness and comfort and peace later on. And if you're scared of therapy/help because you're scared they'll try and push you all to fuse and become a singlet, there are therapist out there who focus on healing from trauma while also strengthing communication and peaceful cohabitation instead of final fusion. You may need to look a little harder for them, but I promise they're out there
All this hate towards "endos" is just hurting people with DID rather than getting rid of the fakers. Rather than being spiteful, be kind and firm. Most of these people are kids, after all, kids desperate and so starved for attention they think faking a serious trauma based disorder is the only way to get that attention
Just educate them on what DID is, what other disorders may be mistaken as DID that they may have, about dissociative amnesia and how many will not remember their trauma right away/even for a while, and tell them just because they believe they have DID, or just because they do have DID and don't remember their trauma yet, doesn't give them the right to spread misinformation and block and report without harrassment/bullying/petty rudeness if they don't want to listen. Doing anything else is pointless, you're doing it for your ego, to feel good, to feel like you're doing good, without actually doing good. It's self righteous pretentious bullying, the same shit the alt right do
Kindness builts trust, belief, and community, hatered breaks all those things down. If you want "endos" to trust what you're saying, to believe what your saying, and to leave behind their old harmful community for a new one, be kind to them, or leave them alone. Humans, naturally, are inclined to be wary and hostile towards rude people, so you are setting yourself up for failure by making fun, mocking, and otherwise behaving rudely towards the people who's minds you wish to change
If you truly want to help get rid of the fakers and the endo community, which is causing harm and spreading misinformation, be kind and spread correct information. Ignore the loud minority that is screaming to be heard, let the kids know their bid for attention by appropriating mental disorders isn't going to work by ignoring them, and welcome those who are willing to listen with open arms

What makes Worm a better story than its' sequels?
oh boy, time to shit on ward, my favourite thing to do!
in many ways i feel worm is simpler. This might sound weird coming from such a famously big and ambitious story but when you get down to it its incredibly simple. Is the basic underdog anti hero story set in a fairly standard superhero world. A bullied girl tries to be a hero but the world is dark and complicated and heroes are flawed and corrupt so she gets pushed into being a supervillain and yet she is sort of a robin hood type where she does "villanous things" in order to help people.
She gets more and more powerful and eventually she saves the world by beating god who was actually evil all along.
Like this is all standard classic underdog subvertion where dark is not necesarily evil and light is not necesarily good. Megamind does this, despicable me does this. Taylor is an incredibly compelling, hyper pragmatical, utilitarian genius strategist and she is also a nerdy shy socially anxious girl who gets bullied. She meets and befriends a bunch of cool, rebellious edgy teenage friends. It explores classic superheroe tropes by grounding them in reality and showing the dark logical implications of the classic innocent superhero world of comics. Like watchmen did, like the boys did, like top ten did, like astro city did. The list goes on. It has a shitton of fascinating, cool, complex characters, all who slot very easily into some comic book archetype. It has some of the most intricate and well thought out worldbuilding, and a series of really clear and compelling mysteries to solve.
Ward by contrast is... messy. The world was broken and pushed forward into a post apocaliptic setting so it cant be classic superhero fare anymore. But also it never fully commits to really explore the post apocaliptic side of it either so is just kind of a muddled mess. The powers get esoteric and harder to really grasp. The tone and the narration becomes incredibly dour and morose and depressing to wade through. The characters are generally less likeable. It focuses a lot on trauma and recovery and the boring, no fun, tedious work of improving your mental health. The fight scenes get boring and confusing. The pacibg gets really slow, the plot feels aimless at times. Suddenly the tone gets a lot more judgy, when in the past the story seemed to be a lot more interested in exploring and empathizing with its villains in here the bad guys tend to just be evil assholes and that is kind of it. The protagonist is a boring angry humorless self righteous depressed stick in the mud who cant help but think of the world in terms of simple good and evil. Its a trudging tedious plodding crawl to a messy ending that is honestly a retread of the ending of the first book where the guy tries to escalate the stakes to upstage the ending of worm but makes everything feel meaningless and pointless.
Is just not fun to read, it feels like homework. It feels like doing taxes. It feels like its trying to be so adult and mature and dramatic and serious that it lost all entertainment value or joy of experiencing fiction.

ok... so... girls band cry.
absolutely my anime of the season and this is definitely going into the one of my favorite animes bucket
i will admit from the get-go that i wasn't actually a fan of the song (sorry momoka-san!), but in a way that was meta as hell i guess. it was completely different from everything togetoge has put out to that point. really, it was all togenashi and no togeari.
the first thing i thought of when it started playing though, was a gripe i used to have as a teen with a lot of singer-songwriters who after clearly having fallen in love and being so open about it in the spotlight kind of lose the edge to their music and that's kind of hilarious given the lyrics to "flower of fate"/"i'm here" (btw who decided i'm here would be the english title, i don't like it lol)
anyway, back to the story!
i'm so so so happy we actually got the reason behind nina's bullying in high school and man, i don't think i would have guessed that. it makes everything just so messed up. i'm so glad nina is the little self-righteous monster she is because she DID do the right thing! she was right no matter what you say hina (and tomo too)!
i'm also really glad that we didn't actually get a ninahina reconciliation. nina stuck to her morals til the end. the only understanding we got that i think nina really needed was coming to the realization that hina didn't become diamond dust's vocalist to get back at her or anything petty like that. hina was someone who was also touched by diamond dust and momoka's music. i know people are going to badfaith argue this means nina forgave hina but lol no. i was already pretty confident this wouldn't happen given how they treated nina's family situation, which i'll reiterate - nina was ready to angrily go back to kawasaki at the end of episode 10. she only even gave her father a chance to repent because she found him listening to void. episode 10 was not a reconciliation between nina and her father, but the possibility of the start of one.
i think overall, episode 11 is the climax of the whole story and what a climax it is, but we got some nice resolution to nina's story from episodes 12 and 13
also seeing all the cameos of people at their show was great. the fact they end up leaving their agency gives us the possibility of so much more for a season 2 and i really really hope toei doesn't fuck that up and gives us more. it likely wouldn't be for a while, but these have just been some of the best fictional characters i've had the pleasure to spend time with weekly for a while. everyone is just so so real.
so thanks gbc and thanks nina for barreling into my life back in april. if it hadnt been for that weirdo liar mtl guy on anilist that very first weekend in april making a shitshow out of his mtl subs, i'd never have started watching this show

Why do you think abuse apologia is so rampant in the ML fandom? I’m asking because kind of in awe at this anon I just got who all but told me to kms because I said that Maribug gaslighting Adricat about his father is messed up
It's a combination of a couple of things. The Marinette Stans here on tumblr are enthusiastic to say the least. At its most harmless, they'll go on tangents about how Marinette is secretly jacked and musclar and strong enough to beat Miraculous users without Miraculous powers. At its most toxic, they harrass people for saying anything that could be construed as negative about Marinette, including "Man, this fictional character sure is in need of character development!"
After the retooling for seasons 4 and 5, this kind of thing got worse, because now the show is actually agreeing with the more toxic Marinette Stans. Characters are taking back things they said a season and a half ago to make Marinette seem retroactively in the right for bullying the new girl in school and creating her own villain. Marinette is no longer seen as being capable of being morally wrong by the narrative; she's no longer presented as being overly controlling, judgemental and self-righteous. Instead, the narrative insists she's in the right about everything. The only times she's "wrong" it's because she's factually wrong: she lacks important information, meaning the mistakes the story admits to her making aren't actually her fault, but the fault of faulty information. The show has protagonist centered morality, because the show's protagonist is never presented as being in the wrong anymore. Everything Marinette does is morally justified because she's the protagonist.
The problem with this comes from the fact that Marinette still acts the same way she used to. She still acts overly controlling, judgemental and self-righteous. She grants a Miraculous permanently to another holder without letting Cat Noir know. She tricks Cat Noir into revealing his secret identity. She complains about how hard she has it while not taking advantage of the help Cat Noir is constantly offering to her because she thinks she knows better than anyone else so he could possibly not be able to help her. She doesn't tell her boyfriend he's under the very real risk of getting his free will hijacked if anyone palmed these two specific rings. She doesn't tell her boyfriend anyone could kill him with a snap of their fingers with the Peacock Miraculous and that she's letting his awful cousin hang onto this power because he knows her secret identity but she's still not telling him or her oldest superhero partner. And, yes, she's gaslighting Adrien into thinking his dad was a good person through and through.
And yet, despite all this stuff the writers have Marinette do that make it sound like she's on her freaking villain arc, the writers insist Marinette is morally right about all of this. She only makes surface level apologies for her lying and secret-keeping, only to keep doing it. Her apologies mean as little as Félix: they mean nothing. She never even considers whether or not what she's been doing is a good idea, because, as far as the writers are concerned, it's a great idea.
This fandom is full of abuse apologia because the fandom is used to making excuses for characters who treat Adrien poorly, but also because the show's writing requires you to either accept and excuse abuse, or disagree with the fundamental core of the show: that Marinette is always right.

Tw: Self-harm, fire, burning, bullying
Imagine Reader showing Junpei their SH scars and him being so confused because, to him, being burned was his trauma. It was the way he was bullied, so his scars bring him a very righteous rage over how he was treated and can't understand why the Reader would do it to themselves.
The act of showing each other the proof of their pain that lays in the skins of their bodies is so wholesome, but something about Junpei ultimately understanding why the Reader SHs and comforting them while Reader comforts him over his scars and both of them bonding and letting the secrets go because they both share the same kind of scars just does something to my brain 🧠 and makes me smile

"We need to kill incest shippers." Or we could put on our big boy pants and ignore the fictional content we do not enjoy. I'll never understand people, particularly in the Elden Ring fandom, trying to police dark content. This is a dark fantasy game. There are genocides, cults, kidnappings, murders, rape, incest, nearly any ~problematic~ theme you could name, it's present here. If you're okay with that in the game itself, and consider yourself a fan, why is it suddenly absolutely verboten when other fans engage with those same themes?
I get all these things can be uncomfortable subjects, and I'd never expect everyone to enjoy them. But you lose any sympathy from me when you act like an asshole tossing out casual death threats over lines on a page and pixels on a screen. Even if you're making those statements tongue in cheek, and "obviously don't literally mean it", it's still an unnecessary amount of toxicity and fosters such a hostile environment. We ought to be coming to fandoms for fun and enjoyment. You make it miserable for everyone when you play these kinds of infantile morality police games. The internet makes it so easy for you to curate your experience. Why don't you just shut up and do that? Could it be you don't give a shit about morality and "safety", and just enjoy feeling self-righteous while you bully people for innocuous shit that will never, ever matter?
