the frozen ii ending makes me soooooo angry like the whole POINT of frozen i was that elsa learned that she could rule arendelle with her powers and with anna by her side!!! literally in the bway musical she sings ‘i know i’ll never see that sunny day / when this trial is finally through / and it can just be me and you’ like. elsa WANTS to stay with anna

and they try and explain this somewhat in into the unknown, with the ‘who knows deep down i’m not where i’m meant to be’ but. WHY isn’t she where she’s meant to be. all of the first film was her learning that she belonged in arendelle and her powers/herself wasn’t something to be afraid of. why isn’t she meant to be with her family? with her sister who’s been desperate to reconnect with her? why doesn’t she belong where people readily love her and accept her and want the best for her?

and then, what about anna? there is no mention of her wanting/being ready to be queen in either two films. we don’t even see the offer on screen; we don’t get the sisters’ quiet, vulnerable conversation where elsa admits to wanting to live with the rest of the nature spirits and anna offers to take her place as queen. we don’t see anna begging elsa to stay in the forest because she can rule if elsa’s happier there. we never see their dialogue. it’s just so sudden. is anna once again just going along with what her sister wants? is elsa isolating herself all over again? we just don’t know. they both seem happy, but there’s barely any indication that it’ll lead up to that point.

it just makes no sense for either of their arcs, or their previous wants/needs. if they were meant to stay together, why separate them again? they just got each other back. and now they’re alone again.

"Disney's princess needs to have more diverse personalities!" Yes true, sure, but also

Disney's first three Princesses (Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora) are all graceful, sweet, like singing songs about dreams and wishes, and do not actively fight: "omg they're such anti-feminist caricatures!!!"

Disney's next princesses have more established emotions and personalities, alongside the establishment of the "I Want" song as applied to motives outside of love (exploration, adventure, making their family proud): "OMG Ariel traded her voice for a man, how stupid!" "Belle's so stuck-up!" "Jasmine's just a spoiled brat!"

Tiana's a dedicated hard worker, loves her family a lot, and wants her loved ones to be very happy even at her own expense and gets... totally ignored in this conversation, gee I wonder why

Rapunzel, Anna, and now Asha are a little bit awkward, silly, but exuberant and get written off as "stupid adorkable" despite the other tenets of their personalities setting them apart, like Rapunzel's creativity, Anna's dedication to her family, and how Asha strives to help those around her

Moana gets called a disobedient brat for seeing beyond her father's narrow-mindedness

Disney Princesses have many wonderfully different personalities. It's just that people are dedicated to misinterpreting them, and that's why I never take the "Disney Princesses need more diverse personalities!" comment at face value.

Finally biting the bullet and writing Derry Girls nextgen content mostly for @areseebee because I feel like if I impress her than I win at the arbitrary goals I set for myself and so I designed them and I wanna know what people think of their designs.

There’s more designs I need to do (Sienna - Michelle’s stepdaughter for example, Sister Michael’s annoying great-niece Salome and Matilda’s little sister Dolly, etc.) but these four functions as my protagonists for the snippet I’m working on.

Matilda is James and Erin’s oldest daughter - a lovable bossy control freak who doesn’t like to be perceived but very much likes to be right about everything.

Jason is Jenny Joyce’s son who is an American who moved back to Derry cause he is a wealthy-latchkey kid and needs structure she can’t provide - he’s a bit of a mouth and may or may not be into Matilda.

Cleo is Orla’s daughter with David Donnelly (not in the picture but pays child support) and she’s a passionate, full of herself wannabe artist kinda a lot like her Aunt Erin.

Elsie is Kerry Coyle’s daughter and also looks a bit like a hamster like her mother and she’s a space case often buried in her books but that’s good because if she pays attention to what her friends get up to she’d have a panic attack.

It's so funny to me that Honeymaren looks like a very gentle and polite person and it's possible that she is confused on Elsa's perception of cold but she doesn't dare to ask. She's like okay she definitely loves a camp fire since she cuddled with that baby reindeer in the comfort of the flames yesterday but she also came back from the dead... Wearing just snow? Like, not only a light outfit, an outfit made out of snow? And didn't she say Ahtohallan was a glacier? And then when Honeymaren is convinced that evening that yes, the Fifth Spirit with the gift offered from our deity to master ice and snow MUST be immune to cold, she looks over and Elsa is curling up in her mother's scarf as she talks with the Northuldra and she is so confused but hey, it's been one hell of a day for all of them, and Elsa deserves rest, and Honeymaren wants her first night in the camp to be perfect. So that she doesn't regret staying with them and feels at peace and feels welcome.

And I'm grinning because imagine Honeymaren not taking any chances and offering Elsa the warmest, thickest tunic to sleep. But Elsa also being a gentle and polite person, as well as a shy, well-mannered, social awkward bean, she can't gather the courage to tell Honeymaren that she doesn't mind the cold and accepts the Northuldra tunic since, well, it's a gift, how rude would it be to refuse a gift???

Imagine Honeymaren barely sleeping that night because every two hours or so she would check the fire in the lavvu and make sure that it's perfect so that Elsa would sleep well.

Imagine Elsa being so embarrassed about it she doesn't tell her for DAYS, and since she doesn't say anything, Honeymaren internally prides herself in being so right about it and the misunderstanding goes on and on and on

When my sister @vickyt-mv / @sotiredmostnights made her design, I was EAGER. EAGER. To figure out how I'd draw her! And parse out the dynamic between her and Moe!!

Something really fun was getting them to look like siblings, when they look quite different! It's all in the face, I think! And... adding a little something, a personal touch... VickyT's halo cowlick ties into Moe's horns!

I also. Attempted Heel Math. The dreaded heel math.

But to be so real I may just go off of vibes. Just know that there are supposedly canon heights, here. These doodles are also to compare their outfits! Esp in how they match... Because. Well.

1332 – Day 3 – De Bellefaye Home

Only a few months before David Pelham’s marriage, his two-fold cousin Annette (who is his cousin by blood through her father Matthew and his mother Caroline, and his cousin by marriage through Alexandre’s mother and David’s father) celebrates her twentieth birthday.

Given the de Bellefaye family’s prominence in the city, she is planning a grand celebration later in the month, but on the day itself, she is happy enough to merely enjoy a special sweet dish with her husband, little daughter and her husband’s grandparents.

Annette has found that she enjoys being a married woman. Even playing second fiddle to Marguerite (Alexandre’s grandmother, not her Uncle Robert’s little daughter) has come with its definite advantages. Madame de Bellefaye has been a fixture in Praaven’s upper echelons for decades and knows anyone worth knowing – and even quite a few influential people beyond the county.

Annette has done what she can to learn from her, but she has found that she also enjoys things other than the social side of her position. Alexandre often takes her out of town to go riding, more often than she had been allowed since becoming an young woman. Being out in nature is oddly soothing, especially with her ever-attentive, loving husband by her side.

All things considered, she is sure that she could have drawn a far worse lot when it comes to her marriage.

Annette had learned long ago that sometimes, when one would like to have information, it is best to simply listen. Men don’t like to discuss war with women – it’s a topic to gruesome for their gentle ears, or something along those lines – but they do sometimes forget that women are present, if the women in question are wise enough to hold their tongues.

So it is while they eat the cake their cook has prepared. At first, they talk about general topics, but eventually, Alexandre and his grandfather delve into a discussion about the Scottish campaign. Officially, King Edward (of England) has disavowed the attack, but it is common knowledge that most of the attacking host is English. And apparently, her uncle Robert is itching to be among them.

“Might be that he will join should things turn bad, and England send reinforcements. We will see how the next few months turn out.”

“While he has yet to father a living son? Brave of him”, Alexandre comments.

“Knights don’t make their fortune by staying safely home. And with those four girls, he will need ransoms or rewards for their dowries. At least if he wants to see them married well.”

“And if he is killed, my dear aunt will be left alone with them all.”

At that, Guillaume actually shrugs. “Such are the fortunes of war.”

It is hard for Annette to bite her tongue at that, but she manages. She can’t do as much when she and Alexandre are alone on their chamber later. They hadn’t meant to stay there for long, only to look in on little Guillaume and to put Juliana back into the nursery. But somehow, once that is down, they stumble into bed together. And not even to lie together, at least not in the figurative sense! They do enjoy some kisses, but in the end, Annette finds herself in Alexandre’s arms, curled up against him, still fully dressed.

“We’re going to be late, you know”, she says, mock-strict.

“I don’t think a few minutes will do any harm. I feel we’ve hardly had a moment to ourselves lately.”

“We have been busy”, she agrees. She is silent for a moment, but then she asks: “What your grandfather said about the fortunes of war…do you really think he’d abandon Lady Chevalier?”

She has met Elisaria Chevalier a few times, especially since her marriage. Her aunt always seemed a sweet woman, but…sad in a hard-to-define way. She finds she doesn’t like the thought of her being left on her own like that, and wonders what the elder Guillaume would do with herself, and her children, were anything ever to happen to Alexandre.

Her husband sighs. “I don’t know. He did give her a rather generous dowry, as far as I recall, so maybe he thinks that should be enough. He doesn’t have endless coffers, after all. And there are our children to consider now.”

“Especially if you were to go to war as well”, she says, quietly. “Going to Scotland could boost your fortunes, as well.”

“It could”, he agrees. “But unlike your uncle, I’m no knight. But I think Grandfather would like it. Well, we’ll see what comes of that campaign. Right now, I’m very comfortable here with you and our children, dear wife.”

She knows she should push him to seek glory. It’s what her grandmother Mary would advise. But somehow, she can’t bring herself to.

Tumblr deactivated my account but I am back. And I brought you some chaos.

Now, hear me out. Danny Phantom x Frozen crossover.

Just Danny being somehow teleported to Frozen world and meeting Elsa. They bond over royalty problems and ice powers (and their initial struggles with controlling their powers), and Danny uses his Phantom form to match Elsa's white hair, and they complain to each other about how they were hunted for who they are, and Elsa says something about how she's scared that her powers can hurt people after that time when she froze everything and Danny goes "Me too! A version of me once destroyed the world and I had to prevent that from happening!", and Danny's reaction to Olaf is just "It's like when hotdogs come to life in my house but friendly, so cool!"

* runs out of breath, pauses *

And Danny and Elsa both have red-headed sisters who at some point dated not-good-for-them guys. And Anna was frozen before being brought back to life and what if she's a halfa now? She had her hair turning white like a ghost, and she sort of died, right? She should be at least liminal! And Elsa actually could be some kind of Infinite Realms entity, with that whole fifth spirit thing from the second part.

And then Danny shows this cool new world to Jazz, and Elsa introduces Danny to Anna, and now Jazz bonds with Elsa over having chaotic younger siblings who want to save everyone. And when Dani joins, she immediately goes to explore and cause chaos, and she meets that giant snow monster (did you know that his name is Marshmallow? Adorable) and for no particular reason they form some kind of friendship, so now people can see Dani being carried oh so gently by this living mountain. Well, when she's not out of kingdom, of course. She might be starting a revolution in some authoritarian country, don't mind her.

Danny thinks that Sam probably wouldn't like Anna and Kristoff much because they're just such naive sunshines and Sam is, well, goth. Sam tells Danny that if she hadn't liked naive sunshines, she wouldn't have befriended him and Tucker, and proceeds to have a long conversation with Anna about how being from a rich family sometimes makes having any relationship so much harder. She then starts talking with Kristoff about animals rights, and Danny thinks that maybe he unleashed a power he wouldn't be able to stop.

Tucker probably doesn't find anything that really catches his attention in this world because there's no cool tech, but maybe he tries to apply his tech knowledge to magic and gets some crazy results (what do you mean you can't use "water has memory" thing for phone/computer memory? Well, watch him make this new cool computer that can make pictures out of ice and is even capable of making 3-dimensional ice sculptures images! How? Well, some ecto, some runes that Dani found for him in this world, some science... He's just that smart, yes.)

There are unconfirmed sightings of very confused Dan surrounded by trolls. They might have accidentally adopted this sad angry boy to show him love and affection.
