whenever i see another tiktok girlie talking about how she wishes to have been a fangirl in 2010s i feel like a seasoned veteran overhearing a foolish youngin boasting about wanting to go to war for glory and adventure. you naive little idiot. you know nothing. you understand nothing. you weren't there in the trenches. i have seen things, terrible things. i cannot plug in my phone charger at night without being plagued by the visions of Him

When you meet your past lives but they're all ignoring you and freaking out over this one guy?
I've seen a few versions of this floating around with the different Leos and I wanted to have a go at doing one for Mikey. They're all collectively realising what a bus sized bullet they dodged by not ending up as messed up as Ronin

hello, sexiest man alive committee? yes I'd love to nominate Lou Wilson and Brian Murphy for attempting to speed-write an actual in-universe 300-word essay in 5 minutes of real time as Fabian and Riz posing as Fabian with complete earnest and a 120 percent commitment. both this effort and the incredibly smooth hand-off in the middle of it was maybe the most attractive thing i've ever seen a man do
yes it's a dungeons and dragons show. don't put me on hold. hello

Hetch was mostly bullshitting (key word, mostly)
So, we all hopefully know that Hetch’s whole “I wrote the script but you were the one who did the actions and killed all those people” is some serious guilt-tripping shit, as Ranboo had absolutely no clue of the possible consequences of his actions. He had no clue that all of the people on the carousel would die, he didn’t know that the security TV beast thing would be released… maybe his actions caused it, but Hetch tries to frame it to be his fault, which it isn’t.
Except, well… except on one count.
When Ranboo asked Hetch what the showfall media employees were, he said that “my best guess is that they were once people, and now have been repurposed”. When Charlie asks what the showfall media employees are, Ranboo responds “they’re human, I think?”. Ranboo saw the dead showfall media employee, saw the blood, which a robot or machine would not fuckin have. He was almost certain that these employees were human, were people.
After receiving the map from a ‘dying’ Hetch, Ranboo doesn’t hesitate at all to stab the guts out of the approaching Showfall employee. Yeah, it was found to be just wires inside (which is likely because twitch wouldn’t allow something more gorey) so that one he stabbed was not a human; but he thought it was. He showed no hesitation in going straight in for the kill for what he thought was human, and didn’t waste a second with remorse after he had done it.
Now, you can argue that it wasn’t his fault because of the situation he was placed in; and I get that. But Generation Loss is a social experiment, observing reactions of people under set circumstances. The situation didn’t require him to kill; it was just the most rational course of action to him at the time. And Charlie’s shocked/scared reaction does further prove that it wasn’t a unanimous agreement that it had to happen; it was what Ranboo chose to do. It was his decision, and that’s exactly what Hetch is talking about. How he reacted to the circumstance in that way, out of his own free will.
For the other deaths, Ranboo couldn’t have done anything to prevent them really. Well, except maybe the deaths of Sneeg and Austin in the hole-in-the-wall thing, where there was honestly very much an option of having all three of them line up behind each other; either Ranboo just didn’t think to do that, was controlled not to do it, or actually made the choice to let them die. But that’s something that could really be debated and only the cast or people involved with the project could give a concrete answer here. And I’d also like to point out that his very underwhelming reaction to Ethan’s death was while he was under control, probably being forced to keep a general state of calm.
So Hetch was mostly bullshitting. But mostly is the key word.

hate how all these apocalyptic films show society breaking down the hot minute the grid goes down, with all the survivors banding off into tiny violent gangs that prey on each other.
bitch you are a member of one of the most social species in existence! it is actually insane the extent to which humans have evolved to use cooperation as our main survival tool. humans have been building and then rebuilding societies for as long as disasters have been bringing them down. an apocalypse would be fucking awful, but the survivors would end up building communities and networks and pooling resources and knowledge, because that's what humans do. that's what they DO!!!
