You pulled your legs closer to your chest, tucking them securely under your arms, the oversized hoodie that loosely covered you providing a slight feeling of warmth and comfort. The short hairs that were scattered along your bare legs stood upright as they were greeting with a swift and chilly air that escaped from the refrigerator parallel to you.

"Aren't you finished as yet, what could you be searching for so long?" you complained, a bit irritated with your boyfriend's sluggish pace. "Just a minute now, i've gotta find the perfect snack for my perfect girl."

You ignored the rapid pounding in your heart as you watched Niki retrieve your midnight snack before tip-toeing over to you with a huge smile. As he got closer you couldn't help but stare, his radiant smile which came in its unique boxy form, his sharp eyes that had suddenly been forced shut by his wide grin, and his brightly dyed hair with its contrasting ends.

"Alright here you go, your favourite."

Frozen strawberries. A sweet and cool treat that never failed to satisfy you. You left out a sigh as the cold fruit grazed your lips, the sweet juice melting in your mouth leaving both your fingertips and lips with a slightly sticky residue.

"I don't know how you can eat those," Niki stated with a distasteful expression. Sure, he could stomach strawberries, whether it be in the form of jam, ice cream, or even covered by melted chocolate. But he couldn't understand the enjoyment of having a frozen berry inside your mouth. Heck, you couldn't even chew it.

"How can you eat microwaved strawberries but not frozen ones?" you asked with a questioning gaze, your head tilted to the side as a teasing smile slowly made its way across your cheeks.

"Because, warmed strawberries are better. They're so much more softer and sweeter."

"You know, I think I could change your mind." you slowly let out as you inch closer to him, the soft fabric of his hoodie brushing against his forearm. "Nothing is ever going to make me eat frozen strawberries, ever."

As you inched closer to him, your smile growing, you could almost see the pink hue that was slowly traveling across his cheeks in the dim lighting.

"What are you doing....?" he let out in a choked whisper, as if the words were suddenly caught in his throat.

"Changing your mind." you responded in a tone similar to his, only with more confidence as you placed your chilly lips on his. The sugary residue from your long forgotten snack still smeared across your lips, provided a yummy taste that you both happily indulged in. Niki's hand found its way to your cheek as you continued, providing an even more comfortable and endearing atmosphere.

As you separated you could faintly see Niki's eyes glistening in the dark, as love swirled within his brown eyes.

"So did I change your mind?"

"Maybe, but it'll take a lot more convincing,"

"Well you know, i'm pretty good at that."

Crashes in here, hi this is my main blog and I just saw the tags you left on my art of Miki and the CombatBot and I'm going just a little insane over them. I've been thinking of a fic from Miki's POV for Rogue Protocol for a while and while I don't think I have the skill to pull that off I am SO EXCITED to see that someone else has had the same thought!!! Urg... I just love Miki so so much and seeing how the events unfold from its POV would be so interesting.

I think I gotta go draw Miki some more now hehe. Good luck with writing!!

Hehe, right? Miki is SUCH a character full of so many hidden depths and surprises, greatest of all is that it's also exactly what it looks like on the surface, in full sincerity: a sweet, kind person of a bot that cared very deeply about its friends and wanted to be able to count Murderbot among them. It also deliberately obfuscates the truth from Murderbot and from Don Abene alike on multiple occasions, it seems to sense what MB means and feels through the feed almost better than MB itself, it's a science bot with visual magnification abilities beyond MB's, when it's stressed and pressed for time it stops trying to talk like a human and goes back to its native code language; Miki has in-jokes with its human friends, but I never had a friend like me. And that's just random stuff I pulled from skimming the book looking for something else! Miki is just such a fascinating character!!

And in this fandom we just LOVE our outsider POVs, haha. I'm sure others have done or tried to do Miki POV of the book before, but I'm gonna use this moment as an opportunity to gush about the thing I want to write- I left the tags that I did because what came to me first was the bit leading up to the same scene you've depicted, the tragic beauty of Miki choosing the trajectory that it did. I have a heartwrenching final scene of Miki's POV in those moments that I absolutely cannot show anyone, not least because the scene simply will not hit as hard as it could unless I actually lay the groundwork that would give it a real punch.

Miki would be about (is about) self-determination, right, obviously. But the Miki POV I want to write would also be about a character caught between connection and alienation, a bot among humans and all that entails. —People love and protect Miki, yes, but do they understand it? Don Abene loved it, and Miki loved her too, and what about all the times they struggled to understand each other? The work that it takes to overcome miscommunication? How does Miki feel, knowing that there are some experiences it just cannot share with its human friends, nor they with it? Do they understand each other regardless? Does anybody ever really understand another person? —Miki has a way of talking that's a little clipped and which may seem "childish" to a reader at first glance; given that in times of stress it defaults back to a nonverbal-to-humans mode of bot communication, might we draw parallels between it and the semiverbal disabled experience? —For perhaps the first time in its life Miki met someone who could understand it reflexively, instinctively, empathize with its machinic experiences almost effortlessly. How does it understand this person's refusal to accept the vulnerability of connection? Does Miki understand Murderbot, and if so how much? In what ways?

Those are the themes I'd want to pull at, and to do so I'd use the motifs of Miki's scientific research function. Its literal ability to perceive the world differently from both humans and from MB, its framing of the world through numbers and measurement and factoids and analysis that is nevertheless beautiful to it, even when it struggles to put that beauty to human words. Names. Identity. Choice and free will. Emotion and connection. What Miki was thinking when it looked at MB's camera at the nebula storm and said, Pretty! The jokes and media and little moments it shares with Don Abene. The love and happiness that made it so secure in itself. If I could just get through the groundwork of it all... it would be beautiful. At least as beautiful as the art you drew.

Anyway, I hope you keep drawing Miki, friend! The art you did has already inspired me a bit more 🥰

how did you come to have a wider actively-used-in-speech(=writing) English vocabulary than a native speaker? how do we ascend to your level? i open a book, and its language is plainer, artlesser.

Have i ascended or have i dug... and does it make any difference as long as you keep moving... well You're gonna have to read More books. Other books. I'm Sorry. Nonfiction as well often. Or stuff published before 1940. My favorite nonfiction books are those about language (and the crowd is not surprised). I've found a great deal of meaningfulness in Anne Carson's "Eros the Bittersweet" for as starting, central and pivotal point of it is the fact that Sappho's Eros is NOT bitter-sweet, but very much sweet-bitter, and this order of adjectives is crucial to understanding the ancient concept of Eros -> this is a book fundamentally which makes you understand sometimes you have to Make Up A Word. And brother I love making up a word.

Other things that could possibly help :

if you know another language, read stuff in it. Find words you find l(o/i)vely and write them down and see what they look like in English/your target language , and see if anything approaches it.

Read older translation of foreign theatre/poetry. I'm quite partial to Greek tragedies rn.

Read older poetry in a language you know

Now one can go overboard with this, but look at synonyms. I love a synonym. I am not insensitive to a synonym. BUTTT before using it you have to see if you truly, fully understand it. if choosing it makes more sense, makes a better sound, a better flow, a better image depending on what you're prioritizing when writing. You have to strip the word you originally had to its bones-meaning and see if a synonym fits better as flesh around that meaning. If it doesn't, do NOT try to push it. it is meaning you need to grasp.

Speaking of stripping to the bones-meaning : get into etymology. Or at least find some sort of fun in it. Etymology is the bone. It's the marrow.

get into new things/subjects and collect words from them.

^ related to above: keep a list of words you find and you like. With their meaning. I have such a list. I'll show you some of my favorite words from it to see what I mean with these last two points :

Porphyre (french, geology) type of colorful stone. found in the context of sculpture.

Protomé (french, art/art history) depiction of the front of an animal if human. found in the context of archeology.

Fasciation (english, botany) malformation of plants. found in its context.

Stria, striæ (english, geology/mineralogy) parallel lines in rock of crystal. found in its context.

Spinescent (english, botany) bearing spines. found looking for a synonym.

Isthmus (latin usual name in english, anatomy) constriction between organs. found in the context of geography, where it is used for a constriction between two stretches of land.

Acantharea (latin scientific name, marine biology) group of marine microplantkon. found looking up stuff from Ernst Haeckel's Kunstformen Der Natur because I use a lot of his pieces from it as reference when I pit peter and stakh in some kind of damp situation.

Acanthus (latin usual name in english, botany) acanthus plants or architectural ornament resembling them. found in french reading Hyusmans' À Rebours (1884) ("Against nature" in english) and written down because I liked it (among many others. read À Rebours/Against Nature if you want to find yourself a treasure trove of language And to find yourself wanting to beat the main character, whose head you're trapped in for the whole book, to death. one of my faves tbh)

You get what I mean? You gotta stay curious. You gotta facilitate yourself finding new way to handle the language by reading more and more different stuff. it's a whole lot of looking for words, and when they don't sound or look or feel or behave good/well enough, stripping them down to the bone-meaning (carcass) and see through curiosity if there exists another flesh to meat them up with. You don't get to stop reading, because very rarely will a word come fully formed, shape orthography function declension meaning, directly inside of your mind. It comes through your eyes or sometimes your ears first. If you don’t find good words/good language in the book you’re reading, you're gonna have to read other books, because they’re where the words are. you cannot have read every book on earth and elsewhere in which language is plain and artless everytime. so you gotta keep reading 🫵 you might find only a handful of good, new, tasty words in a book. but you'll have found them. And it matters

I just wanna say this ; I've been binging your Ao3 fics and so far my absolute favorite is Lets get you back to her! It's just, it's everything to me. It's so cute, and I love how the past and present parallel each other. And uhhhh the ending destroyed me.

I honestly can't wait for the sequel to it. I'm betting my bank account it's gonna be called Lets get you back to him.

Imagine if Ingo and Emmet took a trip to Sinnoh before, and Ingo got lost in Jubilife trying to meet up with Emmet. And then Johanna to the rescue, she guides him to the Cafe he's meant to be at, and then Emmet waves him over and draps an arm over his shoulder as he teases him about getting lost. And then it cuts to the present (a couple months after the first fic), where Johanna and Akari lead him to Gear Station or something, and then Emmet comes in running and tackle hugs Ingo in a tearful reunion.

Or maybe on a funnier note, Johanna tries to email Emmet like "hey come pick up your brother", but either never gets a response or Emmet doesn't believe her. So she hauls Ingo all the way to Unova (doesn't matter Ingo is legally dead or has no documentation on him, she's a famous coordinator and she can pull some strings), and takes him to Gear Station like "okay here he is".

Big ramble below about how I feel the originally planned sequel to LGYBTH would have to be different now, considering I still want it to be canon to my entire narrative, but also have to consider the events of IWLYB.

The sequel is actually something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately, so this ask was perfect timing haha. LGYBTH was written before I had really started constructing an overarching narrative in my works, so if you’re aware of my WIP fic I Won’t Leave You Behind, that fic would sort of change the sequel, as the sequel would come immediately after it — it basically involves Akari bringing Ingo back with her to modern day Sinnoh, and getting him to a hospital after he sustained a serious injury from an alpha garchomp while protecting her.

It changes a lot of circumstances, and would almost certainly have Johanna get to the hospital first. She would have some time there with both Akari/Dawn, and Ingo, though he probably isn’t all there for a while.

I feel like Ingo would probably take some time to identify, being in an entirely different region altogether with no form of identification and still lots of his memory missing (that is, when he’s even alert), and he is probably moderately known at best by the general population in Sinnoh.

Ingo would have to depend on Akari/Dawn and Johanna to really get things going and alert Emmet to get over to Sinnoh and see him.

I feel like during the time Johanna and Akari/Dawn are in the hospital with Ingo, just the two of them, Johanna would get to hear her daughter tell her everything that Ingo did for her, including what he did to end up in the hospital in the first place (and Johanna would probably be the one to tell Akari/Dawn that they had met him before, and he was the one who found her when she was lost in Gear Station when she was little).

Johanna would be so grateful, I’m sure that (with Akari begging her to haha) she’d insist that Ingo and Emmet stay at their house for a bit once he’s able to keep recovering outside of the hospital. Maybe even let Emmet stay there before that, just so he doesn’t have to keep paying for a hotel just to stay close to Ingo.

But this stay would be relatively short. I have a big reason as to why, and why Emmet would not initially be able to take Ingo back to Unova with him after he recovers, but I want to cover that when I actually get the fic out :)

It has gotten a lot more complicated now that I’ve built up so much more of the overarching narrative since then, but I feel like overall it can still wind back around to being very close to the originally planned LGYBTH sequel!

There is still a lot to consider and go through, but I’m having fun figuring out how to connect everything :) thank you again for the ask kind anon!!! I’m so happy you like my works!!

Just was wondering, you recommended VanadisValentine 's work, which I agree with as I love all their Junkan stuff... but I was wondering, do you have any other Junkan recommendations? Would love to hear them if you do! (Ps. I haven't finished your blood bag work but what I have read of it so far I'm loving!)

Why thankyou for this question! First off glad you like all of the Junkan stuff so far, it's been a labor of love (and obsession) that took 9 months but seeing all the positive reactions has made it all worth it! As for recommendations, I am happy to oblige. I'll admit I haven't read every single Junkan Fic there is, I have made it a habit to go on a crazy binge of as much Junkan as I can, I go through every single page on AO3 and read anything tagged as soft (along with anything that looks like it was worth the risk.)

Hell when it comes to Junkan fics I literally have the Junko/Mikan tag for AO3 bookmarked and right at the top of my screen so I can click anytime, and I'm sure I still have plenty of fics left to read whether it's on this site or somewhere else hidden deep within google search. So if anyone wants to go in the comments/reblogs and give recommendations or even shill their own stuff go right ahead!~

Living in a Crazy Parallel World - Yurikah (Fair warning, this one is very long, isn't 100% Junkan Focused, and is also unfinished with it's last update being awhile ago. That said I think if you can make peace with that going into it you'll be in for a very well written treat!~)

Soft (But Only for Her) - Kayleen756894 (When I first got into Junkan I had only read a small handful of fics from AO3, this was one of them and I went through it in a single night. Extremely fun experience that covers a wide variety of ideas for Junkan. Fluffy, Tragic, it's the whole nine yards. There's gotta be at least one story in this collection that will appeal to someone if they like this ship)

Smile - Kayleen756894 (Truly amazing, one of the all time Junkan Fics out there. It can be a very stressful read but oh so very worth it in my opinion. And for those who want a fic closer to canon in terms of character depictions while still being on the softer side I think this will satisfy heavily)

Hurt, Hold, Heal - Kayleen756894 (Do you like Junko helping Mikan through a Panic Attack? Do you like Junko trying to be a better person? Do you like Mikan helping Junko just as much as Junko helps her? Oh look it's the fic for you. The ending is really sweet too)

Tomorrow is Lonely - Kayleen756894 (Also 18+, arguably even more than the previous one on the list. Check the tags before you read and if that sounds like something you're into go for it. Me personally I gotta be in a very specific headspace first but when I do read it I enjoy myself, it's real cute and has a lot of great little character moments)

Protectors in Red - Kayleen756894 (Extremely good! Also features Mukuro! So if that's a selling point then I'm sure it'll vibe)

Forgive Me, My Beloved - Gloomy_snake (Significantly out of my normal comfort zone and definitely not what one would expect compared to the other fics here, but an enjoyable read. And if you like Doomed Yuri, it's got plenty packed in.)

It might not give the same lasting impact as other fics on the list, however this was the fic that introduced me to the very idea of Soft Junkan, so I will always cherish it, and make sure to re-read it every now and again for the sentimental value)

Burning Lungs - oxidize (Another unfinished fic, I remember that put me off from reading it for awhile. However when I finally did I got pretty invested, which left the cliffhanger on the last chapter all the more stinging. Hope the author is doin' well! Anyway, great fic, might go a bit overboard on the darker aspects of Mikan and Junko's backstories so be warned, but even with that in mind I enjoyed myself and find myself imagining the potential turns it could have taken. And watching Junko's feelings slow burn into existence was really pleasant, especially as her dynamic with Mikan continues)

School Life of Mutual Loving - MarySutcliff (A Compilation of various fics from various ships, 3 of which are Soft Junkan. I've only read the first two, but if you enjoy them I imagine the third will do something for you, the first chapter also, as far as my research can tell, is the first instance of Soft Junkan.) Queen of the Convenience Store - Orphan_Account (The one where Junko and Mikan do weed. I actually quit weed and went cold turkey about a week or two ago, but I do still enjoy seeing girls kissing while being high. even if i can't remember if they kiss in this oops)

A DR Oneshot from an Orphan_Account (It features a Hot Topic, my inner 2000s kid has to recc it)

The Threshold - character_studious (A Bit Dark, but a pleasant read!)

No Regrets - wait i made that one (I wasn't going to put this here initially however as a small spoiler, Day 50 of this project is directly based on this fic. I'm super mixed on how it turned out but hey maybe someone'll like it)

So... Lostbelt 6 part 2 is out and it's great! I haven't finished it yet but uh... I gotta address something. And it's this scene.

Good scene, right? Beautiful CG, some insight into the way Castoria thinks... but there's something wrong with this scene.

It's translated wrong.

Now if you're like me and you've been keeping up with fan translations for FGO, you may have realized this already, but this translation fundamentally misses the entire point of the scene.

This is what Castoria is supposed to be saying:

I don't want to see her. I don't want to be shown her. She's too much. I don't want to believe it. I don't want to acknowledge it.

After all.

She has no equal. Takes no refuge. No one who understands her. None who can comfort her.

She receives no reward. No goals. No rest. She cannot afford failure, not even a single mistake.

Ah—from the bottom of my heart, I think: "no."

Just how cruel must it be for everyone to smile and acknowledge a king like that?

Do you see the difference? This is a defining scene concerning Castoria's character. Something that sets her apart from every other iteration of Artoria that we've known so far (barring the Servantverse ones). Castoria sees the way of life that her PHH self chose and is repulsed. She can't stand to think about it. At first it seems like she's just buckling under the weight of those expectations, but in reality, Castoria just can't stand to see her.

She can't stand to see this other version of herself willingly throw away her humanity for the sake of an ideal. To give up her own happiness, to give up any chance of ever being understood, all to become a perfect king who the people will love and praise, but never truly understand.

It is a lonely existence, and like a certain redhead in Fate/Stay Night, she can't accept it. Who could bear to live like that? Who would want to live like that? Castoria wants nothing more than to be happy. She wants to make friends her age, eat sweets with them, go shopping with them and walk down the street while holding their hands. She wants to LIVE, and the thought of giving all of that up for the sake of everybody but yourself...

Noble? Sure. But it's mostly just tragic.

That's what this scene is about. Establishing exactly how Castoria feels about her Proper Human History self. She doesn't admire her, if anything it HURTS to see her, to know what she went through, to know what she did.

So WHY was it translated like this?

I'm the only one of my kind. I have nowhere to run. No one understands me. Romance is out of the question.

There's no reward. No finish line. no rest. I can't make so much as a single mistake.

Ahh... So many things I'll never have.

How cruel would I have to be for everyone to accept a king like me with a smile?

Listen, Castoria thinking of her own struggles in parallel to Saber's is interesting, and it isn't NOT there... but that isn't the point of the scene, and foregrounding it like this is uh...

It sure is a decision, that's for sure.

It's not necessarily bad, but it just doesn't fit due to the obvious reason that this isn't what the scene is supposed to be. This scene isn't Castoria seeing a vision of Saber and going "wow, how am I going to live up to this?" as if Saber's story is aspirational.

No. It's a tragedy, and what Castoria is actually thinking is "that's cruel and fucked up"

Anyways I just felt like putting this out there... and before anybody jumps down my throat about how the fan-translation could've been wrong... I did bring this up with a friend who can read Japanese and went to read the node in Japanese. While you could argue that because Caster and Artoria are acknowledged to be different versions of the same person, that Caster is using "I" to refer to the other, but the last line is just outright wrong. The scene is fundamentally about the cruelty of everyone around Saber placing an impossible burden on her, and how Castoria feels seeing that.

Ok, the kinda tearjerking exchange (not my favorite kind of jerking, but it happened, sorry) starts off

I have to admit I'm sad for both of you in this moment. You especially, sweet pea. But also, Joel regrets how he treated you in the aftermath of your escape, and he can't undo it. He's mostly thought about the physical part of it (glimpse of this in the yoga drabble). Now hearing you paraphrase his words, he's faced with the fact that it's even worse than he's been beating himself up over (deservedly, tbf). 

As far as you running away, the main thing that reassured Joel was how you said it wasn't about him, it was the other guys, to which he said you gotta talk to him when something's bothering you. So in his eyes that was his main point. But before he calmed down enough to express that, he was angry and it made a real impression on you. Your main takeaway was that his interest in you (and your safety) was conditional.  You don't think about it a lot these days, and in the big picture it's outweighed by his extreme possessiveness, but it's a thread of insecurity and the first thing that comes to mind when he asks if you remember what he said.

For Joel, there's a whole other conversation happening here (with himself) under the surface.

In this convo when Joel says “that was real bad,” it all was, including what he did in response.  When he asks “we’re past that, right?” he means all of it. He wishes that day would just go away. It's also kind of an empty hope related to what he's done to you. He doesn't think he deserves forgiveness or love, but at this point he also doesn't want you to live in fear of him or only stay for that reason. 

You answer as if he just wants to know you wont run away again, and that's still nice to hear. He latches onto that answer as a momentary "out" from feeling the weight of what he's done, reminding himself what's supposed to really matter to him–that you're "his"--like your answer assumed he was thinking.

Also, a word about the dog. Not everything with the dog is profound. I like doggos and think they should have one. But, the initial interaction/freeing him from the collar is meaningful if you consider who else has been chained in this story (but not lately).  And there's more parallels you can draw if you want to, but I also support just enjoying the little guy.

In the same chapter, it's the first time we see Joel take you out with him as a capable person (armed). Then he even lets you go into the forest alone. The reason he ultimately goes in after you is because he's worried about you. In general, Joel wants to keep you for his own sake but is also scared of what could happen to you on your own (he's almost seen it). You're legitimately worried about the dog’s well-being and think he needs you, but you also just want him around.

Joel despises the addict and the way he treated his own dog. Joel hates himself, too. His thoughts coming out of the forest reveal he’s coming for the junkie as a stand-in and what he really wants is to hurt everyone who ever hurt you. He knows he's one of those people. I'm not saying he wants to hurt himself but some of the aggression he takes out on other men (when a simple bullet would suffice) is from his own self hatred. Normally these men have something in common with him. 

Joel initially rejects the dog, not wanting another someone to take care of distracting him from protecting you. But later the dog demonstrates he's more than meets the eye and has a lot to offer and for good reason Joel seems to come around, even if he won't say it. Despite that progress, in the hypothetical from today we still want more for the dog.  The dog deserves more. We still want more for sweet pea who is emotionally starving and has been subjected to Joel's coldness in her previous attempts to get closer to him. She deserves more. Like maybe a kiss at least (when she's awake). In night air we see why Joel struggles with that, but he keeps making progress. At least he's kissing your other lips.

I'll always advise to check out my bookmarks on ao3 because there you can find fics I enjoy & recommend whenever I find something, and also I have this list I compiled here recommending fics if you wanna check that out. Gotta admit that I haven't been a very diligent reader lately though, so I'm probably missing out on a few gems. As for plot heavy bunny fics that I'd recommend...

There's Just Underneath by TrashKat which is a Mystechaos fic that I can't recommend enough. I love how it's written, it's a little "short" (12 Chapters) but the character writing is super good and I love the Mystechaos fighting scenes, Bunny friendship and K2 scheming. If you like my fic you might like this one too, it's a lot less sad hahgahha

Then there's Stan Marsh and The Lost Lyre by @alottodix which I'll always recommend for plot heavy fic enjoyers. It's a Camp Half Blood AU, and it's NOT YET tagged Bunny, but Alottodix has planned for several parts and Bunny is yet to come so heavily recommend to tune in :) The Kenny and Butters characterization is already impeccable!!!

I can't think of any others tbh💔💔 At least not those that I'd classify as "Plot Heavy", or if they are they're not usually mainly Bunny. I'll recommend checking out orphanacrount's multi-chap fics, they're unfinished but the author MIGHT rework the TFBW AU soon though, so if you like Creek and background Bunny it's worth a read as well. I, at least, can't stress how awesome their fic Things Have Changed is. A MUST read if you like Bunny, and it's a 10k oneshot :)

And well, I'm currently (parallel to Chaos Plan) reworking another Bunny fic that I wrote back in March/April. It's not very "plot heavy", but the premise is that Butters remembers Kenny's last death so they work together to try and figure out how that can be. In the end it's more of a character driven fic than plot driven though, so I'm not sure if you're looking for something like that.

Finished episode four of band of brothers:

-First of all, Bull is THE mother hen in this episode- he's constantly checking on his replacements, making sure their gear is tightly strapped, they have everything- honestly it's kinda sweet. Cause some of the guys (like Cobb) kinda rag on them a little bit, but Bull? nah, he's making sure they're all okay, gotta watch his kiddos. We love this man- just somehow becoming a single dad to a bunch of green paratroopers. It's super sweet too, cause when it comes for those guys to go search for him, the replacements are rearing to go.

-This parallel with Bull's kindness towards the replacements is even more interesting- because when he's in the barn and fighting that German soldier- there is such brutality in that scene- this is survival at the barest level- kill or be killed.

-also Bull struggling to army crawl (while having an injured shoulder no less) from a burning tank is genuinely impressive. This really was the Bull episode- and honestly, the actor killed it. The reuniting scene between him and Johnny is super sweet too- also the height difference haha.

-Bill's adoption of Babe is so funny to me honestly- I think the actual Bill said he identified Babe from the Philly shuffle- I don't know what that means- is that an actual thing?? I mean, real life Babe was short and stocky so maybe he did shuffle??

-The Eindhoven scene is both parts hilarious and horrifying. Like everyone getting kisses- Peacock (?) yelling at people to get moving while there's the kiss mark on his cheek. I love the guys who are like, yes, thank you ma'am- I need to keep moving on, thank you, thank you- I'd probably be that person honestly. And then Talbert legitimately GOING HARD on that kissing (manwhore, no shame honestly) is hilarious. And the Easy guys just being like, Mr. Dutch Resistance Sir, Excuse Me That Is A Child. On the other hand, the scene of the female collaborators being shaved, and stripped is kinda brutal. Of course, this series is from easy's pov and they're clearly horrified from it, so you as the audience feel horrified about it, but maybe they deserved it and it is probably (?) better than being shot, but still brutal. It's interesting, cause I first watched this with my mom (who is from Europe) and she had no sympathy for Nazi collaborators- but me and my friend (Americans) felt more detached I guess, and thus sympathy- cause for all you know, these ladies may have done what they did to survive, or were threatened, or forced to have relationships. What would you do in their situation? It's an interesting moral quandary.

-Also re-watching and knowing who the guys are actually- comes in handy. I didn't realize how predominantly Hoobler and Webster were in this episode, plus how their little friendship with Van Klinkin is set up- and then he dies- and the fact they were together on the Bull Rescue Mission. the blueness of Webster's eyes is so notable btw. Plus, you can actually keep up with the replacements which is nice lol.

-The bit where the parachutes are all coming down is so oddly peaceful- I don't why, but I really like that part. I think it's a very beautiful shot.

-I love how Cobb is like, y'all idiots- then right after is with the Bull Rescue Squad lying in a ditch, going damndamnitwhyi'dothisagain.

-The British tank guys honestly- like I get their reasoning, I guess. also the tank backing up furiously is kinda funny in a weird way- they're not very agile things tanks.

-also who is the officer that gets shot in the road? Was that Brewer???

Love love love the idea of her projecting Enji onto Touya but also gotta love the idea of her projecting HERSELF onto Touya. He's just so much like her and it makes her sick sometimes, so when she's struggling with her own self-image she takes it out on Touya.

Def hc he "gave her a lot of grief" growing up bc of how headstrong he was, so she justified neglecting, molesting and beating him as "the only way to deal with him." Found that after fucking his brains out for long enough, he's a sweet docile little boy for her ☺

Love the concept that Enji would fuck Rei in front of Touya to "teach him how to please a man" (later fucked Touya in front of Fuyumi to teach her the same lesson.) The whole mental image of him holding her down/her holding him down for Enji, kissing each other, whispering either words or comfort or degrading insults.

On that note. Touya sneaking around to watch his parents fuck. What if Touya was a little freak about it though and low-key got off on it? What if Rei was a little freak about it too? And would sneak around to watch Enji fuck Touya too?

Ik Rei was hospitalized shortly before Touya "died" so who knows if they were able to see each other before his disappearance but I love those fics where they fuck in the mental hospital

Oh parallel that with some post canon fic where Touya's institutionalized like Rei was and now Rei visits so they can fuck. Hell yeah

Who are your favorite characters from Helluva Boss, Steven Universe and TADC and why :]?

Helluva Boss: Season 1 Stolas because he's a powerful eldritch demon prince with a taste for dangerous thrill in his life- he fantasizes about being weak and needing a hero when its not true at all; he's a manipulative, conniving bastard who absolutely has a heart under all those feathers- he just fucks up and gets himself into trouble because he gets greedy or takes things too far- meaning he's gotta put in the work; get a major character arc if he wants things to turn around and go his way. Maybe learn some lessons, be less ignorant, actually learn how to maintain relationships, etc. He has so much potential to his character, the small amount of scenes we got with him to begin with already set up so much and tell us so much about him, it was great storytelling. Season 1 Striker is awesome. He's also a fantastic foil to Blitz. Introduced as a hired farm hand, only to turn out to be an agent gun for hire. He's dangerous, cunning, competent, competitive. He offers Blitz a place at his side- to actually overcome their status as half-imps, when HYPOCRITICALLY- HE'S SERVING A HIGH CLASS DEMON HIMSELF!!! That was a CRAZY reveal- it was aMAZING!!! especially when it shows that Stella isn't just a side character now, she's in the pool of villains- That was such a fantastic episode.

Steven Universe: Rose Quartz/Pink Diamond is my absolute favorite!! She's so complex. I love how she reverse parallels Steven. She's a bratty, needy, abused child who never felt like people could listen to her. She felt like people couldn't change, she made the decision to not fix people for her own sanity and safety and I respect that of her, but its also a double edged sword when it gives her major major communication issues. When she hurts her pearl, she shuts down and realizes she needs to change- and when she sees Earth- she becomes inspired and gains a heart of gold- but her trauma runs deep and her actions to protect others have only ended up hurting them more- yet her intentions are still often pure in nature. I wish we had more episodes of her, she was my absolute favorite.

Peridot was my second fav. She is like a sweeter, more complex Invader Zim. Her character arc was the most detailed, the one with the most care put into it. I preferred her when she was a bit more robotic and subdued with her limb enhancers, but she was my original favorite before Rose/Pink.

The Amazing Digital Circus: Cane because I'm biased I loved his VA as Spamton; but he's extremely cookey and unpredictable. He's trying to entertain people to keep them sane, but he's also at the same time ironically heartless to them too? The mystery surrounding his ai, how much control he really has over the game, him losing track of NPCs vs. actual humans- its all so mysterious and ambiguous and his design is just so fantastic- aaahh!!! I love every second he is on screen <3

Gummygoo because everyone loves him, he's the first NPC who has a relatable breakdown when he gets an existential crisis, seeing everyone and everything he knows has been written by design, that its not real. But he's fun and cute anD BRING HIM BACKKKKKKKKKKKK BRING MY EXPLODED BOY BACKKK!!!! Also shout out to Ragatha, probs my 3rd favorite. I like her optimism in the face of doom- keeping herself together through a shaky will but also holding on to her kindness. It's very sweet, as well as EXTREMELY funny to me that she keeps charming all these NPC women- it's so great, Ragatha gets all the btchs!!!!!!

Fuzzle Cuddle is Italian poodle working as a secretary to the owner of the biggest Jewelry company in Origami City, she retails a very bubbly and narcissistic air-headed personality, she's also into the electric piano player, Berzack, whom she always tries to impress, whether by playing a heroic act in the sweet beard burger, or flashing showcasing her super limo 9000.. atleast, that's what she does in the day time.

In night, she goes by her alter ego name "Diamond Candle", a skilled thief that's always targeting the riches and robbing them from their precious and delicate jewelry for fun. accompanies by her partners in crime, Gaster and Groover, (they also have code names but I've yet to come up with them lol) who also have a foot in the world of thievery.

Miguel Nosso: the current heir of the MOST successful restaurants in ALL of Origami city, "sweet beard burger". He's the manager of the resturant and mostly found in the kitchen, baking cakes for costumers while his workers serve the desserts.

the branch was originally initiated by "beard burger" in order to expand his brand across the globe, taking Europe as the first stock to market it. the Resturant was Run by one of Miguel's other uncle "Sweet Nosou", and it did QUITE awful on it's first few decades of launch. Sweet Nosou negotiated with beard burger to change the Resturant's direction from burgers to dessert as an experiment. a decision that fruited with good results, thus "Beard Burger EU" was changed to "SWEET BEARD BURGER".

Red flag rating starts at like 4.5/5 and then drops exponentially and somehow gets genuinely cute and supportive?? By the special episode those red flags are whipped lol.

The new head of a crime family low key kidnaps a man to be his bodyguard. Fun tropes ensue. These two are so horny for each other. It's also genuinely funny.

One side couple is very cute and sweet (mostly) and the other is red flag central, not safe, sane, or consensual.

There are a lot of interesting and well done family dynamics going on in this, which is what actually taught my attention.)

Arranged marriage tropes galore. Broken engagements. Not-so-secret identifies. Miscommunication. Age gaps and height differences. Truly a gay regency romance told in the modern times.

People either seem to really like this or hate it. (The people who dislike it usually say they don't like the power dynamics at play.)

I didn't dislike or especially like it the first time I watched it but the second time it was really fun. It's kitsch. You've gotta embrace the kitsch and you'll be fine. A good casual watch.

Flags aren't exactly green but could definitely be more red.

Pretty decent acting, which gets better over time.

Known for some of the best kissing scenes in the genre tbh. Tongues everywhere. So much tongue. Very soft. Mouths on titties. Gotta respect the dedication.

(It has a sequel series called naughty babe that is equally silly that I enjoyed more because somehow the leads have a chokehold on me. They're the second couple in this. )

After Khram's beloved Phupha is murdered, something happens and Khram is pulled to a parallel world where, three years prior, Khram and Thai had been in love. However, that Khram was killed by Thai's dad. One day, Thai drives by a road and finds someone in the middle of the road. The face of that person stuns Thai because he looks exactly the same as his lover from three years ago. What will happen next?

Cave sex. That's what happens.

Some crazy shit happens in this one. It's a little hard to explain. Editing could be clearer. Acting is pretty good, and noticeably improving. The side couple is childhood friends to enemies to lovers which is fun.

I'm half convinced this was made because fans saw the nipple action in cutie pie, so they said"you want nipple action? We'll give you nipple action." And they went for it. But seriously, their scenes are very well choreographed and very sweet. (And really long.)

Pretty red flag free. Other than some light kidnapping. (Gotta have a meet-cute somehow)

I have to watch this one again tbh. (I have a bias with this one for some reason)

They are the epitome of black cat/golden retriever energy and it works for them. Great chemistry. Their acting is getting better. The script is better than LITA I feel like. The first episode is kinda awkward. The second episode is pure spice. The third is oddly sweet. It's still airing so idk.

There's a lesbian side couple that's heading towards the fake dating trope with added power dynamic fuckery so that's fun.
