PARAPPA THE RAPPER AU: PAPETHIN PUNCH!

Hello squad! been a while hasn't it? anyways, I'm back again with another Parappa Stuff! this time though, it would be a brand new AU by the name of, PAPERTHIN PUNCH!! a fighter AU based off a fighting franchise that is very dear and close to my heart; King of fighters!

the AU is still a wip in term of story but, it will be mostly KOF events but, with slight differences in the story and the character will be replaced by hybrid of a KOF team and parappa characters.

here are the current designs I made! (bio for the character I'll share later, I'm tired now,,)

well, yeah, it it, brace yourselves because from now on, every illustration or concept related to this AU will be shared here instead! Why? because it's taking me forever to finish the team lines and I wish to offer other stuff related to it until a new team artwork drops or smth.. Anyways, have sketches for various mothers in the series! I had these designs made few months prier, and while Miss Moiruppa and Dottie are based off/inspired by KOF character as per usual, the other two are original! sorta. Miss hydro was all me going on my artistic choice of making the most mama potter AU design ever, while Annie is a doggified version of Cheif Puddle's wife from the anime (which will get into in a bit)

anyways, here's some messy lore for each one of them:

(note that some of these ideas I just came up with right on the spot and is the subject of possible edit or complete change.)

+. Miss Moiruppa: -inspired by Saisyu Kusanagi- is Parappa's mother and the current leader of the moiruppa clan in Japan. After becoming the heir of the moiruppa clan, Miss has been placed in rather tight scheduled of training, managing and leading.. that until she we fed up with it, leading her to modernize the moiruppa heir system, leading to one of the most controversial decision by now; allowing overseas division of the clan, which is ruled by her sister. Miss displays very cocky and arrogant traits; like mother, like son. She's also a big fan of sake as evident by the bottle she carries around in her sleeves, which she would pull at the most random times; Doesn't mean she gets drunk though.

+. Miss Hydro: A humanoid flower with hydrokenis powers. She's Hana's mother and co-leader of the Hydro clan. Many describe her as the voice of reason, always calm and collective in the most dire situations, she also shows various lady-like manners, a trait that her young daughter mimicked since she was a child. However, behind all that tranquility is a woman eager for vengeance on the Hakkeshu clan, who ripped off her horn (it's the reason why she's pale in comparison to her daughter) and have taken the life of her previous family.

+. Dottie Lang: -based of Tung Fu Rue- A humanoid white rabbit who lives in the grand mountains ( a place far from Parappa town is) and master of Hakkyokuseiken. Dottie is very calm and wise, always thinking twice before talking and is always eager to offer her help to those in need. One day, blue feline couple dropped to her house and begged of her to look after her two children as they will return later to pick them up. The parents never return, pushing Dottie into playing the role of the "mother" for the two children.. who would grow up on latter years and continuously referring to her as "mother". she doesn't mind it, it warms her old heart in fact!

+. Annie Moiruppa: A humanoid dog from the Moiruppa clan and the mother of Marutake. when her sister was chosen as the next heir of the clan, Annie left japan, not out of sour not but, a positive one! as she went on a self-discovery journey around the world. her First stop lead her to Canada, where she met her first husband and have a child with him. unfortunately, their sweet bond that turned sour, forcing them to separate and leave -alongside her child- to another country. Later, Texas, where she ran her own dojo dedicated to the moiruppa fighting style. and it's also where she would meet her secondary husband and current partner, Puddles. she also runs a successful diner on the side, which helps on the financial requirement to keep the dojo up and running. Unlike her sister, Annie is very humble.

+. Welcome aboard this blog! which is dedicated to my project of a fan spin-off series of the Parappa The Rapper franchise, Funky Fury Malissa. Featuring a new protagonist with "Malissa Rappa" ,original characters, teachers, rivals and more..

+. I made this blog to share my process on working in the project and receive questions about the characters on the way! I won't make this series into a game though. not only because Sony are becoming the next Nintendo with Fan-games but, also going such thing will require experience and budget. which I got NEITHER. but, I can draw and write, which is what I shall use to tell the story of the series! in a visual novel type of style, dialogue of characters, actions and of course, LYRICS of the songs.

+.As stated before, this series is STILL a WIP, which means I've yet to finish/Finalize the designs of characters and elements of the story (mostly the teachers) so, I'll always pinpoint the stuff that are unfinished/finalized with a note with brackets. Also this Post will be updated manually, adding more references and information about the series.

Malissa Rappa, a funky gal from Origami city is trying to win the heart of her beloved crush, Berzack Bandicoot, however there are MANY obstacles in her way! starting from her rival in love, "Fuzzle Cuddle" to a Group of thugs fro hell.. to.. a giant polygon face that's trying to take over the City?! boy, those are lots of obstacles. but, not something that will keep this funky dog from moving forward, Keeping her head on and facing all the challenges with her funky gorgeous singing and HER fury metal rings! will she grant her dream? only one way to find out.

Fuzzle Cuddle is Italian poodle working as a secretary to the owner of the biggest Jewelry company in Origami City, she retails a very bubbly and narcissistic air-headed personality, she's also into the electric piano player, Berzack, whom she always tries to impress, whether by playing a heroic act in the sweet beard burger, or flashing showcasing her super limo 9000.. atleast, that's what she does in the day time.

In night, she goes by her alter ego name "Diamond Candle", a skilled thief that's always targeting the riches and robbing them from their precious and delicate jewelry for fun. accompanies by her partners in crime, Gaster and Groover, (they also have code names but I've yet to come up with them lol) who also have a foot in the world of thievery.

+.The Teachers/rivals (20% finished, No references, still conceptualizing most of them, some names are placeholder. all what you gotta know is that some of them will be like parallels to parappa's teacher with tweaks. )

King E Roo: A kangaroo that owns a private boxing Club

Krash Pitch: Karma's mother and a racer car instructor

Nicky Picky: a white-square headed cat who works as a barista in "sweet beard burger"

Narissa RaParra: Malissa's Monochrome copy and the leader of the retired band, "BornEye".

Grand Polygon: some giant Floaty face thing built of of instruments. it has the ability to hypnotize people.

(note: this character's importance will be FULLY explored in "funky fury malissa 2" o, I won't spoil anything about his story. though, I thought mentioning him because he's kinda like a BG character now.)

Miguel Nosso: the current heir of the MOST successful restaurants in ALL of Origami city, "sweet beard burger". He's the manager of the resturant and mostly found in the kitchen, baking cakes for costumers while his workers serve the desserts.

the branch was originally initiated by "beard burger" in order to expand his brand across the globe, taking Europe as the first stock to market it. the Resturant was Run by one of Miguel's other uncle "Sweet Nosou", and it did QUITE awful on it's first few decades of launch. Sweet Nosou negotiated with beard burger to change the Resturant's direction from burgers to dessert as an experiment. a decision that fruited with good results, thus "Beard Burger EU" was changed to "SWEET BEARD BURGER".

aalirghty! after bijillions years, I return with even more paperthin punch stuff to throw at you! this time, we have the fourth team in the Roster; Team Psychic! two young adults with psychokinesis powers and their half-asleep sensei guiding them through.. now to characters!

-Pauline Asamiya: -inspired by Athena Asamiya- Pauline is a psychokinesis human and a famous song actress across the globe, a dream she fought hard to fulfill in order to "rescue those who lost their spark" and be their inspiration figure! she also has a very close relationship with her grandfather and looks up to him as inspirational figure. she always him whenever the chance is up to promote him to the world, and gets extremely angry whenever someone talks bad about him.. Pauline also has a short temper, as her Sweet demand takes a 180 when she's pissed off (something akin to angry fussenpaper basically)

-Wolly McRohen: -Kinda inspired by Sie kensou(?)- Wolly is a humanoid grey bear with equal amount of psychic powers within him. He's working as an engineer that's specialized on "easy to utilize and friendly to the nature" devices, though, his self-esteem often gets in his way of accomplishing the simplest of tweaks, which triggers Pauline into shaking him and giving him a rough but, comforting emotional support. He's Pauline's best friend and is often seen working together in various collaborations, be it a paperthin punch tournament or, to promote one of his device, he also fears her angry side.

-FUSSENPAPER SENSEI (place holder name): -inspired by chin- Fussenpaper is the grandfather of Pauline and a very well known martial art fighter across the east, mostly for his "sleep-walking" style of battle, when's he's reverts to unconsciousness state and lets his body do the fighting for him. "don't let his old looks fool you, he got the skills to beat you and knock you down!!" he also trained his granddaughter and her bear friend with their psychic powers and continues doing so to this very day. Him teaming up with the two is merely to see the results of their training.
