Obsessed with the implications of Road to Ninja essentially being the only timeline where we see a non-massacre Sasuke and Itachi, and instead of being a bootlicking bitch with nice hair, Itachi just.....decided to leave the prestige of his clan to become a gun for hire. For funsies.
#viri talks about things;#itachi#naruto shippuden#itachi uchiha#road to ninja#sasuke#sasuke uchiha#this also makes me wonder how close Itachi and Sasuke are in that universe#do they keep touch#can they not stand each other#does Itachi scold Sasuke on being a womanizer or is Itachi the same way#what does fugaku think of Itachi#is Mikoto still a jonin#i have QUESTIONS

Naruto Twin AU
Had a dream of a naruto twin au except for some reason the self insert naruto twin girl (kushinas hair and eyes, minato face, yk standard) had to go find a tokubetsu jonin or just a jonin for a class project
I'll call her Mikoto / Miko for now or something
So like class project, they're like 4 years old or 5, and it's one of those draw your family and talk about them scenarios and everyone's being mean about it to them bc kids are cruel
Obviously, being SI, she's already told Naruto and thought of a plan to get out of jail free but he wants to draw them despite it being an S class secret. So, of course, she indulges him. Dips out quietly as a mouse and politely asks at the shinobi desk for a Tokubetsu Jonin
By pure chance, one is literally there just going to get a mission. It's also one that, despite them being who they are, is rather neutral about them - we'll call him Haiiro. So he indulges her, "what do you need a tokubetsu for?"
Its serious, the way she looks at him (and adorable since she's a child trying to be serious), "I need a contract written up as a Promise." So he indulges her once more and she pockets the paper and holds her hand out to walk back to the classroom with him.
"We wanna draw our mama and papa-" she says having extracted The Promise, The Contract and Haiiro is internally like 'oh god' and she continues, "But it's a SECRET. SO, we need permission to DRAW THEM but not talk about them :)"
He is in. A situation. He technically accepted this as a mission. Even the shinobi desk ninja accepted it technically. (They didn't read what she wrote properly, she knows it)
So Miko owns that shit. Haiiro gets this feeling he's going to be... sought out more. He also needs to know HOW they know so he can tell the Hokage. But she's a kid so he can't just. Go shove her at a Yamanaka immediately. She looks him dead in the eye and says "so will you do it?"
Fuck it, he thinks, he'll do it, there'll be something funny about this. (Where the fuck is Hound, why isn't he watching her-)
So she slips back into class WITH this Jonin and the teacher is. Stunned. Confused. She thumbs ups naruto and he yells at her that, "Awesome IM DRAWING MAMA"
So she delegates herself to drawing Minato dutifully by looking out the window. If she draws him like a Shoujo man as only a 4 or 5 year old could that's even funnier.
Teacher is BAFFLED. Why is he here, when did the demons sister slip out. What is going on. Haiiro just says, "wait and see. Continue as normal."
So, teacher does. Kids are also curious but can't say anything because Teacher GLARES and gets things back on track. They start talking about their families. Ami gives a snide talk and side eyes Miko and Naruto during it. Sakura recites dutifully. Sasuke goes before them and extolls the virtues of his brother.
Then Miko and Naruto stand. "This is us," they point out, "and this is our parents." Haiiro is torn between laughing and crying. "We can't talk about them cause they're meant to be a secret so that's why I brought Mr Jonin here to let us do this-"
"Our mama was so cool, 'ttebayo!" Naruto says and starts talking about her hair and her face and that, "She was from UZU its so cool."
He wants to shut them up but he also. Doesn't. Bound by mission parameters, he'll claim. Fuck it, he's taking these kids home with him later, theyre SMART. He always wanted minions.
and oh no no what's she doing. She's pointing out the window then at her paper. "Yondaime. Thanks."
Class erupts into shouts. Lots of calls of liars. Naruto is beaming. Miko is smiling innocently, pocketing the paper.
Haiiro is so fucking dead. He laughs and laughs and laughs. He's filing adoption papers later.
#naruto#writing#fic#oc: mikoto#oc: haiiro#i dont have a consistent theming of tagging for this blog and i should rectify that#naruto twin au#self insert oc#i dont think this would be canon but i DO think theres opportunity for Haiiro to either be the Jonin sensei#or to still adopt these two absolute street rats anyway by virtue of also being a 'foreigner' and an outcast#hes got uchiha bastardry (not that he really knows)#but hes definitely like. also probably not from fire country#i wanna say maybe kiri. maybe his ma ran from the purges or something idk

Sometimes I don't understand these people
How is a woman supporting a man, sexist? What is wrong with being supportive? That's not called sexism that's traditionalism, these people force their own views on others and it's infuriating sometimes.
Didn't Naruto say he likes Hinata?
Didn't Sasuke thank Sakura ?
Wasn't Shikamaru greatful when Temari came to his aid, didn't you see the fondness in his face
Most of the complaints there are untrue.
Wtf do they want Mikoto to do? Play ninja while her sons are infants. They want her to be a bad mother. What just to chase a career of death.
And no Sakura isn't a bad mom, she prioritizes Sarada over her work. We see her spend more time with Sadara and being a good mom.
I don't understand it,do they want a man in a woman's body? Sakura Hinata Kushina and Mikoto chose family over work because they are good women. They are selfless and love their families. And that Hinata is basically a pacifist.
Heck Tsunade who I reckon as the best of them all is still devoted to her love and family (Dan and Nawaki). After all she became Hokage for them if I remember correctly.
Btw is Mikoto even a Jonin?! I remember Sasuke saying fucking toddler Itachi is better than her in shuriken jutsu.
Kaguya is the origins behind chakra but it's Zetsu that causes all the problems. It was he who planned her resurrection and it was he who brainwashed the Uchiha.
Most of the story men were villains so when a woman is finally the villain it's suddenly sexist?
I don't get the sexism in here tbh
"Sexism" is another one of those annoying buzzwords that people just love to carelessly throw around and grossly misuse in this fandom, right up there with "misogyny", "homophobic" and "fangirl". Everything that person said is complete and utter unadulterated nonsense, everything. I was actually left dumbfounded by the sheer level of absurdity emanating from what I just read. I thought I had read it all in the Naruto fandom but fucking hell, there are literally no bounds to the amount of drivel people can spew in this fandom.
So apparently, every single female character was defined by her relationships to men, and most of them were also boy-crazy. I'm not gonna bother listing a plethora of female characters proving this statement to be idiotic, but it also shows how much of the female cast's characters this person is ignoring by claiming how all of them are defined by their relationships to men.
People love to say how someone like Sakura was "obsessed with Sasuke", despite the fact that by their logic, Naruto was even more obsessed with Sasuke. But then they'll try and counter by highlighting his other relationships with Jiraiya, Iruka etc. As if Sakura didn't have her own other relationships with Tsunade, Ino, Hinata etc. They think someone like Ino is "boy-crazy", as if she didn't have very prominent and platonic relationships with Shikamaru, Choji, Asuma and her father. The relationships she had with them were far more prominent and important than her romantic relationships, but this person will of course ignore all of that and insinuate that Ino was boy-crazy, as if the romantic relationships were all her character amounted to.
Apparently, Shikamaru not being shown to marry Temari during his Infinite Tsukuyomi dream is evidence that he actively dislikes her. God only knows how they reached that conclusion.
Sai ultimately didn't find Ino ugly, as evidenced by Shikamaru Hiden's conclusion.
The amount of times Naruto has praised and held Hinata in high regard... The blood promise during the Chuunin Exams, the "Proud Failure" speech, him reassuring her during the skirmish with the White Zetsus, the hand holding scene, the entirety of The Last...
Sasuke called Sakura annoying at the very beginning, but she became one of his most precious comrades, as he himself stated.
This person literally picks and chooses where the story just ends for certain characters because they just ignore all of the later developments for these characters and their relationships.
Another stupid generalisation, acting as if all men who showed some measure of interest in women were just like Jiraiya or Ebisu.
Not every scene depicting Naruto's crush on Sakura showed goofy immaturity and innocence, and his growing feelings for Hinata certainly didn't demonstrate that.
Lee's crush on Sakura wasn't dropped entirely, they were brought up again during his Infinite Tsukuyomi dream.
So because Obito retained his feelings for Rin into adulthood, it means he was still the same childish boy? So by this person's logic, you can only truly grow up once you've moved on from the romantic feelings you had as a child? That's the same ridiculous argument I hear about Sakura - she developed in so many different ways as a person, but because she held on to her feelings for Sasuke, all of her development doesn't matter and her character regressed according to these people. It's pathetic.
"Women were almost always healers and support", despite the fact that 57% of all the Medic-Nins shown in the series were male, yeah I did my research on that one.
"Women make up less than 1/3 of ninjas even at Genin level", no. The ratio is definitely in favour of the male characters, but it's not that large. But that's to be expected, it's a battle shounen catered to young boys, so of course there will be more male characters. The vast majority of battle shounens have noticeably more male characters - Bleach, One Piece, Dragon Ball, My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen just to name a few.
"Girls are almost all desperate to become wives and earn the attention of boys who don't even like them!", more blanket statements, more gross generalisations based on the early chapters of one or two characters, and more misinformation regarding boys who apparently didn't like them.
Who the hell ever said or even remotely implied that Fugaku "married into the main family"?
To answer your question about Mikoto though, she was indeed a Jonin, but Itachi being better than her at something ninja related as a toddler isn't surprising, he was a literal prodigy.
Minato was the Hokage because he earned that title due to his unprecedented skills and accomplishments during the Third Shinobi War. Just because Kushina was "borderline royalty" and from a prestigious clan doesn't mean that she had more of a right to be the Hokage. Was she more competent as a leader than Minato was? Did she have the same level of respect in the village that Minato did? Was she more capable of defending the village than Minato was? No. If she had done what Minato had done during the War, and she wasn't Kurama's Jinchuuriki, then perhaps Hiruzen would have chosen her as his successor instead. There was no sexism in the choice of Hokage for fuck's sake.
How the hell can this person exaggerate Kushina's status by claiming that she was "borderline royalty", while simultaneously severely downplaying Minato's prestige by ignoring everything he had done to earn the Hokage title, and not see the glaring double standard? They're complaining about how Kushina's credentials were apparently ignored, while they themselves were ignoring Minato's.
Wow, the reach here is insane. This person really just wants to feel victimised from non existent sexism. The vast majority of the "sins" committed in the series were done by men, but we'll just ignore that I guess, like they chose to ignore so many other things proving their claims to be preposterous.
Kishi has no idea the sexism is there because it's not fucking there. However, nowhere did he claim that the women have "epic girl power", and at least with regards to Sakura, he openly acknowledged the errors that he made when writing her as the heroine. I won't dignify this person's further bullshit about the men apparently hating their wives, their loveless marriages, men being forced to marry women they don't like and Kishi apparently blaming women for this. It's just a bunch of baseless bullshit, like everything else they said.

Naruto AU
Dedicated to @tamelee and other artists who inspired me with a question. What if Mikoto ended up adopting Naruto?
She thought about it at some point, but she wasn't able to. Which is. imo, one of the worst mistakes Konoha made. Mikoto looks at the baby, lying in the cradle. It cries out. She stretches her arm out, touching his cheek. Naruto opens his eyes, smiles and yawns. Mikoto remembers Kushina's eyes, that were a few shades darker than his. She tries to hold in her tears, looking at Hiruzen. He nods.
— I think you and Sasuke would be a wonderful worse to quide this little fella.
— Sasuke?
— They are very close in age. Itachi will also be delighted to have another little brother. He's a gifted child. Perhaps, all three of them will become strong assets to out cause.
Hokage pats infant's head, leaving Mikoto with her newly adopted son. Hiruzen tells her about his plan to conseal the child's relation to Minato. Mikoto follows along, giving him the surname Uzumaki and honoring her late friend.
Fugaku, knowing about this, is a little standoffish about the child at first. But, seeing his potential from a young age, he starts to pay a lot more attention to Naruto and Sasuke. Itachi is joyful from the start. The first word out of Naruto's mouth is his name, which is the funnies thing Mikoto remembers.
They both call Itachi "Nii-chan". Naruto tries to use a more respectful form, Nii- san. But Itachi doesn't see any difference between his two brothers, so Naruto, soon enough, feels comfortable to call Itachi how Sasuke does.
Their rivalry is still there. But it's not as present. It's more of a sibling rivalry. Sasuke, being a little bean he is, competes with Naruto for Itachi's affection more, than for accomplishments. Itachi is torn between those two, but he's successful enough in making Naruto and Sasuke feel like equals in receiving his love.
Naruto isn't sufficient in fire style jutsu. But Mikoto ends up talking Kakashi into helping the child develop his abilities. While Sasuke trains with Itachi, Naruto is trained by Kakashi. In time, he also notices Sasuke's talent, and they eventually become partners in crime and training.
Naruto likes blowing wind inso Sasuke's back. He burns Naruto's eyebrows off at some point as revenge.
Naruto is clingy. He likes hugging Sasuke. Sasuke hugs him back, even though, with time, he becomes a bit more embarrassed by it.
Itachi is more affectionate with Naruto when they become older, but Sasuke doesn't require as much attention. He still likes Itachi's affection though. Naruto reassures him that he isn't stealing their older brother. Sasuke calls Naruto dobe and says he knows it. It's actually a comforting reassurance.
Naruto likes cooking. Mikoto encourages it. Even if Fugaku is hesitant about the idea, Mikoto quickly shuts that down with her glance.
Sasuke periodically helps with it. He likes how Naruto makes his mom smile. He smiles too, sometimes. Naruto tells Sasuke that he looks a lot like Mikoto and calls him pretty. Sasuke is flustered each time. He starts calling Naruto Ussuratonkachi at this point.
When they become old enough for the Academy, they are sent to be guided by Kakashi to become a part of team 7. They only require one more member, which is Sakura. Like most girls, she likes to sneak on him. Sakura proposes her likeness of Sasuke, even though he acts cold towards a lot of them. Naruto is the only one to get a reaction out of his adoptive brother. Their insults become more prominent, although they still are in good relationship.
Uchiha genocide doesn't happen. Uchihas are given a lot more equality for Mikoto's selfless act of adopting a "monster" child. Because of her persistence, jonin start to like Naruto a lot more. He plays with their children when they're younger.
Other parents feel a lot more relaxed about Uchiha's and the Ninetails. Sharingan is a reassurance for the case of the demon fox steering up another havok. Although Naruto is mostly happy and calm, which reduces the chance of this happening.
Naruto isn't told about his status as a jinchuuriki until he's old enough. Once he knows about it, he promises Mikoto to keep himself and his brothers in check, to make sure he doesn't hurt anyone. Especially Sasuke.
That's all for now. I'll make a part two once i'll think about the storyline i like the most. Hope you enjoyed!

💫 FROM NARUTO TO BORUTO FANFICTION💫 #5
Official name: Unexpected
Only here on En here. From author personally.
P.s. sometimes dumb! Oops. (Daichi/dai/day - one person)
- Haha, he's like that because he likes me. But do not think that his feelings were accepted. Mikoto-san.. I was going to leave the Anbu.
Mikoto herself was staring at him. As if she was saying, "Believe..believe..believe.."
- Could you at least roughly describe it externally?
- Of course, she looks like her mother too..She probably dyed her hair, so you can't find it by the red hair from Uzumaki. Knowing her, I think black.
Sasuke looked at him with complete disbelief. The situation began to heat up from the cold..
Daichi didn't like it.
- So, we are honest with you. Otherwise, Menma and I would have stayed at home, because...
- I was also asked to tell about my brother.
And so, the doorbell rings, obliging Day to end the conversation anyway.
- Sakura-chan! Unfortunately, we have already started, but I think Menma can repeat it for you. Come on in, can I pour some tea?
- Yes, it would be nice..
Apparently, Sakura was embarrassed enough by how much attention was paid to her person.
But the young man, on the contrary, finally felt at home.. Not for long, but it was worth it.
- In short, let's talk about my brother first, I'll repeat it later. Besides my sister, I have a brother, but I think he won't resist. Anyway, the guy is friendly, I think if we meet, he will want to get to know you all. But don't forget that he is a Jonin, and his specialty is everything related to fire. Effectively by the way, half of the participants in the exam dropped out.
Orochimaru chuckled contentedly. Indeed, what to expect from such participants.
- And the possession of my techniques?
- I don't think so. Both of them.. Pretty principled and own mostly clan techniques. But.. Hmm, if necessary for sure. And.. I don't know, honestly, that's it.. But we have a lot of friends. I think we would be happy to tell you about them too!
- Does that make sense?..
Sasuke's eyebrows moved to the bridge of his nose again, showing obvious displeasure.
- There is.
- Great! In short, do they still remember the Ootsutsuki clan? Hinata is really married to Toneri. What an irony, a wonderful couple, I would like to see my parents one day.. And their son became a ninja too! For some reason, he decided to stay on earth..
- One such person would not hurt us.. Can you tell me anything about the seals yourself? Or maybe he saw something useful? Maybe a sister, a brother?
-No! - Menma snapped, heading towards the children. - I have a great offer for you - who can beat me one-on-one, I give you tickets to the computer club! A couple of pieces, of course.. Let's go to the backyard!
The children looked at their parents searchingly..
- Go, it's time to practice. Don't break your arms and legs! Daichi said. - "He's already tired, and the topic.. I don't think it's easy for him.."
- Does it mean I can break heads?
- Menma, no!
Day looked at him as if he took it absolutely seriously.
- Menma yes! Calm down already, nanny. They will return healthy. I can't guarantee the rest.
Sasuke swore at that moment that he had let the child go to the battlefield in vain, but Mikoto stopped him.
- I don't think you were raised at all. - Uchiha said, to which Boruto mentally agreed..
- Judging by your tactlessness, too. To some extent, yes, the locals called him a savage. Well, who's to blame that we were all raised by former soldiers. Ah well, who are the first?
- Your idea - so go ahead! Uzumaki plucked up the courage to come forward.
- Oh, well, if you're not afraid, usaratonkachi.. Let's go!
Before anyone could object to him, Menma had already dragged Boruto along with him, smiling broadly.
"Sarada knows the Uchiha techniques, Uzumaki techniques will not be difficult to copy.. And this will be more interesting. He wouldn't mind winning and purely on principle.."
They have already stood opposite each other.
"If I put this arrogant one down, it will be less to show my nose. Only to call names and can.."
The son of Hokage was also ready to tear and throw.
- ..In general, this is what Menma gave us. Maybe about something separately? In my line, datteban'o. Of course, I don't think that my life is somehow remarkable.
- You should tell about those whom you met in battle. I think this will somehow bring us closer to where and how to look for the seal in addition to forests, Day. - We really agreed with Sakura.
Haruno (now already Uchiha) it was pleasing.
But the young man's face on the contrary breathed sadness from the fact that there was nothing left to change.
- It was mostly peacetime, Datteban'ya. However.. At first, they did not pay attention, there were minor thefts.. And then there was Incense. He gathered all the discontented around him, his father thought of a conspiracy, but he could not catch it. Everyone perfectly understood that there was a monastery in the same forest, where all the offended and offended could come.
- Has the civil war started? - Sasuke was the first to realize.
- Yes. I was among the volunteers..
- So they just let you go to war?! What did they want with that, you're not even twenty! Sakura jumped up excitedly. They immediately tried to pull her back, but Daichi wouldn't let her.
- I think you slightly do not understand all the circumstances.. I am twenty-one, I am the only son of the great Naruto Uzumaki and the excellent kunoichi-healer Sakura Haruno.. And he was no different from anything else until then.
The girl sat down.
Yes, he understands.
Understands what the pressure is when you need to earn your name.
- Who knew that it was the military leader Ootsutsuki.. We started not just a civil war, but the Fifth Shinobi World War. I'm sorry... Daichi clenched his fist, turning away. - I can't discuss it. Just be aware that the Uchiha-Uzumaki were there too. I think we were transported here in the same way as they were then. And I have one terrible assumption..
- Spit it out. We should know any for completeness. - Orochimaru nodded at this. The others echoed him..
- That according to Mikoto, they, as elders, also caught this war. But it's useless to ask, I really think the war is the last seal. I don't know how true the assumption is, along with the forest.. I'm sorry, perhaps that's all, datteban'o.
Daichi shook his head, as if trying to banish unnecessary memories. Habitually looked in the direction of the children ..
..At the same time in the backyard.
"Snake"-"sheep"-"monkey"-"pig"-"horse"-"tiger"
Fireball technique.
It is good, however, that they live near the forest. The makeshift playground was already quite battered..
It seemed that Uchiha-Uzumaki attacked by pushing off from the wall of the house with a direct blow, which seemed very much in his style.
A light whistle, a kunai in a couple of millimeters of distance flies right over Menma's head..
- Rassengan!
Menma wins by attacking Boruto's own technique with his shadow clone.
And climbs down from the tree with a satisfied face.
- You should be more careful. Well, of course, you won't get tickets, apparently today is my day, usaratonkachi!
- Do not fall from the joy of victory, topic. - Boruto snorts in the abrasions. His face hurts terribly.. But, of course, he is not going to talk about it.
And Menma fell face first from the tree.

If we powerscale highly likely Kushina > Mikoto since Karin who was a non fighter took out a wooden summon that several kages and an army couldn't. The only way Mikoto could win is if she had speed since that's the only way those cloud nin could have beat Kushina to kidnap her. Uzumakis are OP.
Kushina was still only a child when those cloud nin kidnapped her and they were all jonin.
You are right though plus Kushina has nine tails, so her chakra is way more then Karin's. Keep in mind Kushina even on her death bed could still restrain the fox.

Itachi realizes Mother has a very beautiful body.
The way she moves when she practice her swordsmanship is graceful and fluid.
It's an enthralling dance. An art of skill, balance and stability.
The strength behind her strikes as they cut through the air in perfect lines and the way she molds her body in perfect motion.
It's all beautiful. Itachi prides to think that he must have gotten some of her grace and elegance. For he knows he is far better than her in simple skill.
Probably when she was younger she would have been a better fight but now, after years of no active duty and only civilian days, it's hard for her to maintain her skills. Still, he can see she is putting a lot of effort.
Mikoto was said to be a jonin in her younger days. Before she retired to take care of them and the clan. Her skills have not lessened, her strike are still the same - at least in their intended movement- but in an actual fight she has the disadvantage of being out of stamina and practice.
Still, Itachi admires her dedication and motivation to be ready to defend herself.
He also knows she is doing it for him. To stand against him one day.

So Mikoto Uchiha was a jonin
it makes sense if you think about it but it still hit me like a cheese slap to the face.
She seemed so normal in the flashbacks we saw- nothing about her said shinobi, which is probably why she's a jonin.

More of this from @its-wabby-stuff with my comments ->
So, much like Kakashis life, Sasukes life is sad, but for different reasons. And it starts with his mother. In this AU, Kushina goes into early labor while visiting Mikoto at the Uchiha compound. Minato is gone on a mission, and Mikoto is unable to keep the nine tails sealed so it escapes. Luckily and unluckily it was in the middle of the Uchiha compound, so the threat was quickly stopped, (the mental image this gives me is beautiful, middle of the night, Kurama breaking out and so many sharingans shining around ready to defend and subdue him) but Mikoto was blamed for the death of Kushina (Kushina nooo) and the release of the Nine Tails (probably by Danzo the ass), and the Uchiha gained scorn. Mikoto felt horrible about it for years. Fugaku commits ceremonial suicide to help save the clan. (Fugaku nooo) Then Mikoto dies giving birth to Itachi so Sasuke ends up raising his brother alone. (oh god) They have a ten year age gap.
Sasuke graduates academy around the same time as becoming an older brother, in order to make ends meet. The second shinobi World War ends and then just as quickly the Third starts. Naruto and Sakura are quick to follow behind Sasuke and they get teamed together on Minatos team. Minato babies Naruto, so Naruto feels like his father believes him incapable of becoming a good ninja, especially because he doesn’t baby Sasuke or Sakura.
They all make to chunin and Jonin and somewhere in there Sasuke and Sakura have light training with their Sanin’s. Sasuke is with Anko and Sakura with Shizune. (I love this detail)
Then the incident Kannabi bridge, where Sakura is taken by earth nin, the classic debacle of should we go after her (sasuke and Naruto are still reincarnations), and Naruto heads out. Naruto learns the rasengan to save Sasuke who lost his arm to a nin rather than an eye. They go in and save Sakura, who was actually handling herself fairly well, and Sakura goes to help Sasuke. The earth nin starts to make the entire place collapse and in order to save both his friends Naruto unleashes the nine tails to hold up the collapsing rocks. He tells them both to get out of there, saying he’ll be right behind them. They go out and wait. And watch as the rocks collapse. And wait cause he’ll pop out for sure, only for the harsh realization that Naruto didn’t make it out. And they have to go finish the plan and tell Minato his son has died.
This part is the most fleshed out, everything else is kinda- vague.
So Naruto ends up where Obito did, in the final resting place of Madara Uchiha, severely burned and injured and losing his arm as well. The Zetsus take care of him and train him and then convince him that the world only meant to harm him. Using his hatred against him and manipulating him. What a bigger blow than convincing the reincarnation of Asura to turn against his “love.” (Ooohh)
In order to convince Naruto he manipulates the hidden mist to put the three tails into Sakura, unfortunately given Sakura and Sasuke smarts (and their experience with a jinchuriki before) it doesn’t go as planned and Sakura becomes the three tails jinchuriki, a much needed shift as they lost the nine tails. Zetsu finds a different approach, and has Naruto join forces with Nagato and Konan (I led you astray as Yahiko is actually dead already) (how could you ;A;), and they found the Akatsuki, focused on liberating jinchuriki from their villages.
Sasuke becomes his clans leader after his father’s death, and has a lot to rummage through with everyone’s desires to start a coup de tat, which he is very much against. After the third Shinobi war ends, Tsunadae is named Hokage as Minato turns it down.
Naruto, after learning Sakura is the new three tails jinchuriki hopes to convince her to join them. Sakura is called out to a delivery thats happening outside the village (the birth of Rin), where she’s confronted by a masked man from another village. Sasuke and Minato are called to the scene for the emergency, and Naruto is looked at by his two friends and father in the same way the village looked at him for years and is brought into a rage, unleashing the nine tails. Zetsu releases the three tails from Sakura, Minato reseals the three tails into baby Rin, and Sakura manages to survive via the 100 healings technique (which used three tails chakra alongside her own). But for a moment two tailed beasts were released near the village. The nine tails return is seen as its regeneration and a reminder that Naruto is dead which causes Minato to leave the village. (<- Everything here is briliant!)
Sakura is kept the three tails jinchuriki, while keeping the truth of Rin a secret to avoid another attack. She begins her teaching program for this who show incredible chakra control.
Danzo then begins the massacre of the Uchiha clan with his secret service. Sasuke stops it and kills Danzo, (hell yeah) and his service is disbanded freeing Sai and Yamato (HELL YEAH) into the regular ranks and anbu instead. This happens when Obito is seven and he loss his grandmother who had been taking care of him.
Sasuke, urged by Sakura and Tsunadae, becomes a Genin instructor after Itachi graduates academy. He is given Rin and Obito, and the final exception to the graduation rule by one year, Kakashi.
Kakashi father was killed but I don’t exactly know how… (R.I.P. Sakumo)
Sasuke takes a similar approach to Minato but he’s colder, and the team has plenty of visits from Sakura. Sasuke has the eternal mongekyou sharingan, and preserved his father’s eyes (at the time to keep them from Danzo, but it turned out useful when he started going blind). He has one arm and a sword and is very scary when he wants to be.
During the bridge maker arc, Kakashi and Obito learn that Rin is the three tails and are also vowed into silence. Obito also unlocks his sharingan for the first time.
Then the chunin exams is where it gets more fleshed out again. Gaara of the sand is promised to be in attendence, so Naruto finds this a great time to strike. Undercover, Naruto disguises himself as a Genin age student from Amegakure, with two other Genin from the hidden rain, as students of Jiraya. He makes friends with our new team seven as their Kabuto influence. He plans to get close to Gaara to convince him to join them. During the finals, Gaara and Shikaku go crazy and are pursued by Naruto, Jiraya and team seven. Naruto convinces Gaara to leave with him, but in the process reveals who he is to Sasuke. (This is so cool too, with Naruto acting like Kabuto and the Ame team, but ow I can't help but wish Naruto and Gaara were still the same age ;u;)
In the attack, Tsuandae and Sakura use their healing slugs to help all those who are injured. Sasuke, upon learning Naruto is alive, goes out with Kakashi and Obito to retrieve Minato and bring him back to the village.
Everything from here gets iffy… at some point Naruto’s plan turns dark as he has to revive the ten tails, and all the jinchuriki he saved will sorta end up dying… but Naruto doesn’t want to be like the people that abused them so he’s trying to find another way but isn’t very successful as of yet. Although, Sakura is mildly the key seeing as she overcame it.
I think Zetsu probably lied to him about Sakura either dying or about the information of the three tails being n the hidden leaf was false. But idk. At some point Kakashi invents purple chidori, and Obito unlocks Kamui, and Rin becomes a perfect jinchuriki. And I hope during the war I can implement the revival jutsu thing and bring Kushina back for a bit. But that’s as far as I got.
Naruto actually goes to the village the first time to retrieve the key to his seal from his father, and Sakura is just an accident that happens from Naruto’s chakra release that messes with Sakuras seal. He didn’t know she was a jinchuriki but believed he killed her.
Jeriaya and Minato are close as friends rather than student and mentor, since they are relatively the same age in this AU.
Some moments in these final part makes me wonder if Naruto would just go mad trying to get his plan to work, like it ISN'T working and there are a lot of holes but he insists on it to the point where, idk, he does actually sacrifice the other jinchuuriki for example... Does this make sense?
Oh man your big bro Sasuke ask sent me spiraling back into my own AU I made after finishing Naruto I called the Team 7 swap.
It was a swap between Team Minato and Team 7 which switch places and timelines. Naruto took over Obitos place raised by his father during the second and third Shinobi war and founded/joined the Akatsuki under Black Zetsus puppetry planning to get all the tailed beasts together to destroy their collective villages. He uses his Talk no jutsu to convince a lot of people to join him.
Sakura was made the three tails jinchuriki and because of her and Sasukes collective smarts, she was placed under a genjutsu before reaching the village and Minato helped reseal the three tails safely. She is now head of the healing department, under lady fourth and teaching young students to implement Tsunadaes plans for each team to have a healing nin.
Sasuke stayed in the village and wound up a Genin instructor to take on three students. Danzo did the Uchiha massacre but Sasuke was able to stop it before everyone died, but it was still a huge blow to his clan and most of the men died. Luckily, Danzos actions were enough to get him killed. He has his younger brother Itachi, a prodigy in his own right. His genin students are Kakashi, son of the white fang, Obito, one of the last Uchiha, and Rin, a promising healing kunoichi with a dark secret.
Jariya joins the Akatsuki with their justice and peace ambitions after seeing Naruto’s potential and reuniting with Konan, Yahiko and Nagato. Orochimaru doesn’t leave the village, being inspired by Sasukes growth to stick around. Tsunadae also doesn’t leave, inspired by Sakuras growth. Minato however, does leave the village after losing his son and wife, and goes into a drunken gambling fit, becoming a shell of what was once the yellow flash of the leaf. He’ll have a built in redemption to replace the Tsunadae arc.
Okay okay, but what happens to Naruto and Jiraya? How does the Ame trio work here? What is little Rin's big secret? Does three tails Sakura fight as well?? How stressed is Sasuke-sensei? I have so many questions, please tell me you're writing it sonewhere??

A/N: A little late to this prompt, but better late than never, I suppose. This has been sitting in my drafts since June, but reading it made me emotional and I got distracted by writing things for Like Gold. I apologize for the tardiness!

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Sakura passes in her sleep, marcid and weary of a broken heart and missing mismatched eyes, at the age of eighty-two.
It is longer than most Shinobi make it by far, but she doesn't feel very grateful for it, in the last five excruciating months of her life.
Her husband hadn't made it to eighty-two; Sasuke-kun passed in December. It had been peaceful, all three of their children, most of their grandchildren, and even some great grandchildren, the ones not on missions outside of the village, at his bedside.
Sakura had been there, too, old and frail and holding his hand. She'd kissed him goodbye tearily, sensing it was almost time after decades of watching it happen to others inside secluded hospital walls. It had been in front of nearly all of their descendants, family the only thing helping to hold her together in his final moments.
He hadn't complained. He'd kissed her back, for everyone to see, and Sarada and the twins had started crying, then, squeezing their hands around those of their parents, because they knew it really was time.
He had thanked her, said her name one last time, all equanimity even then. Then, so softly, "I love you. I'll see you next time," before he went, bones settling wearily at long last.
There had been melancholy in his expression even in death, wrinkled skin turning glaucous and beginning to sag against old, hardened muscle.
Sasuke-kun was buried next to Itachi’s memorial. There is a plot he saved for her on his other side, his right arm, the hand she held so many times in life.
Sakura haunts their small home in grief, feeling already a ghost even while surrounded with beautiful raven-haired children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As she sees each and every one of them over the months that follow, a select few stare back with her own eyes. Most of them are so like her husband's, though, luciform soot flecked with silver, and she feels so sorry when she looks too long and starts to cry. Little Satoko, their newest great-grandchild all of eleven months old who she dotes on endlessly, reaches at her wrinkled cheeks to try to wipe them dry, babbling out a garbled version of "Oobasan, no cwy." He is talking earlier than most babies, stormy eyes eerily full of awareness and an endless lineage, just like Sarada at that age. Sakura laughs as she sobs, cradling him close to her heart, and looking out her window at their daughter's visage on the mountain. It is also Satoko's grandmother's image; it is hard to believe their sweet little baby is now old enough to be a grandmother. She remembers the first time Sarada had smiled at Sasuke-kun, the first time he held her at only an hour old, and he broke down sobbing.
She makes the trek to Sasuke-kun's grave every day for 138 days, each step an arduous agony, before stooping down to lay a fresh daffodil atop the soil where her husband's bones rest. She has also planted white lilies around his headstone, the same as those that surround Itachi's and the Uchiha Memorial Stone. Her children help her keep them watered as needed through a short spring drought; she is too old to carry a watering can now without spilling.
She misses him. It hurts worse than Sasori's poison or Madara stabbing her or giving birth or a giant shuriken nearly cleaving her in two.
There is joy to be found in the desolation, too, in her last few months of life. Their progenies throw her a birthday party like none other, and she eats her fill of cake while watching little hands eat some, too. Little Satoko dances, or moreso balters, with Sarada in time to a dramatic song he finds by pressing buttons on the radio; it is not a very appropriate tune for a dance with a toddler, all clumsy crescendo and orchestra, but amusing all the same. Sasuke-kun would have smiled, if he were there.
The white lilies bloom before her eyes one last time, resplendent and perfect. She gets to hear about Haruki making Chunin on the first try, every bit the pride of the Uchiha, reborn anew with Sharingan blazing. She even gets to see Akiko make Jonin in person, ambitious and ingenious with Sharingan and diamond seal on her forehead setting her apart from her adversaries in the arena.
But finally, at long last, it is her culminating day. 138 days doesn't seem like a long time to be without him, compared to the larger number of days he was absent in their youth, but she finds it is worse, following their life together.
She tells them all she loves them and falls asleep for the last time, watches their confluence of family say goodbye from above. Sarada and the twins cry the hardest, clinging to her body as her heart finally pumps for the last time. Satoko is too young to understand, but he pats at her, too, in a sea of dark-haired descendants that she knows will continue to bring honor back to a clan revived at the brink of death. She takes in each and every one of their beautiful faces one last time, faces so similar to Sasuke-kun's; not a single one of them has her nose.
It is a legacy of love they have created, exactly the dream they started willing into color the day they discovered they had made Sarada together.
Then, she is on a dock that has slightly singed edges, looking over a small, familiar pond.
It is a spring evening, the sun just falling beneath the horizon and cherry blossoms abloom, and she thinks that is strange, because it is June and Hanami has already passed them by. Satoko had been so cute in his new outfit; she had made it herself, not much else to do in their empty house filled with aching memories. The tiny uchiwa on the back of his collar was sewn with the utmost care, the kind that came from decades of practice.
Crickets chirp, cicadas buzz, and there are a few fireflies leaking out of the greenery, soft light reflectant in the stillness of the water. It is serene. She had sat on this dock many times with her husband, when he was alive, on his right side so she could hold his hand. He told her she was beautiful during Hanami here, every year. She shifts to begin the process of sitting down, planning on leaving the space he'd taken up in life empty for him, in case his ghost is around. She has felt it, sometimes, tugging at her own spirit; she leaves his side of the bed empty every night, trying to will him back to her.
As Sakura shifts, she looks down, and she is startled to see pink hair instead of white, and no wrinkles. She crouches to analyze herself more closely in water still as glass, and there are no creaking old bones. She is young again, somehow.
She is overjoyed; she will be able to water the white lilies herself again. She can even dance with little Satoko now.
Light footsteps sound behind her, and just as she stands and turns, she is being swept into an unfamiliar yet comforting pair of arms. A woman with long inky hair, black as night, is hugging her tight.
"Thank you for loving my son," she breathes immediately, and Sakura starts crying, because she somehow knew who it was before she even said anything, without even seeing her face. When her eyes focus blearily through tears over Mikoto Uchiha's shoulder, Sasuke-kun's brother is walking up not far behind her.
Itachi Uchiha is smiling at her like she's done something wonderful, like he has been waiting for years to meet her. He is younger, healthier here, flecks of silver dancing in eyes just like her husband's, just like their childrens'. There's an impossible ache in her chest.
He waits patiently for his mother to pull back. When she finally does, Sakura looks into her eyes, and Mikoto is smiling at her so big, like she hung the moon in the sky, beginning to peek out from behind clouds above them.
"I have waited so long to meet you," she says, eyes shining, and her eyes are like Sasuke-kun's, too. "You are so beautiful."
Then Itachi is embracing her, and Sakura cries harder, because his arms feel almost like Sasuke-kun's arm had felt, slipping around her for sixty-one years of marriage, the same height and strong.
"I have waited, too. It's an honor. Thank you, for everything," Itachi says as she sobs.
"They are so beautiful, too, Sakura," Mikoto adds softly, hand at her shoulder, and she knows she means their children, Mikoto's grandchildren that she hasn't gotten to hold yet, Sarada and the twins and their children and all the others. Little Satoko had made twenty-seven blood relatives; including spouses who married into the clan, the number was thirty-eight, and there were two more babies on the way, yet.
Itachi lets her go, smile tender when he pulls away. He directs his gaze momentarily to the path leading up the hill, as if he's looking for someone.
She follows his gaze; Fugaku Uchiha is coming over the top, all stoicism even as a spirit. He stops momentarily and gives her a nod of recognition, not breaking eye contact for a long time.
Then, he glances back over his shoulder, tilts his head as if telling someone to follow him down the hill, and Sakura is running, though she hasn't been able to for years.
Sasuke-kun is all of twenty again, young and strong, too handsome for his own good and every bit the sweet but stoic man she fell in love and grew old with. He's smiling at her, just for her, and she's in his arms - he has both, here - in the blink of mismatched, teary eyes.
His arms feel like home, two spirits together in permanence at long last. It is the same feeling as the little piece of heaven they touched together whenever they made love, souls intertwining, but this time for good. She has missed him. Oh, she has missed him.
"...I told you I'd see you next time," he murmurs against her hair.

I found your Hokage Sakumo AU and I have a contribution. Assuming Minato and Kushina still die, I have an idea for Naruto.
No way Sakumo is cold enough to leave him in an apartment with some money, nor can he deny Naruto the truth about his parents (even if he hides it from the general public for Naruto’s safety). And Danzo the creep wants the Jinchuriki, and Kakashi is spiralling because dad that’s my sensei’s son he’s my baby brother!!
So Sakumo does the only thing he can- he adopts Naruto saying he’ll train (raise) him personally to ensure the Jinchuriki’s loyalty to Konoha (give him a normal childhood).
Most of the village is like we trust you protect us so yeah sure, Danzo is ripping his hair out and planning Sakumo’s assassination. He fails of course.
Mikoto visits Naruto often even babysits when the Hatekes are busy.
Team Ro (Kakashi, Tenzo and Itachi) are his Anbu guards (glorified babysitters and honorary brothers)
And now I have a mental image of tiny Naruto sitting on Sakumo’s lap cuddling and kurama plushie during the five Kate summit, and all the Kage behave themselves because the baby gets upset if they are too load or rude and really they’re war hardened but who can make that little kid cry.
I do believe that Au does include Sakumo adopting both Naruto and Tenzo (after finding out about Tenzo through Kakashi) and i love that because this man really got put into a position of power and decided to use that power to adopt all of the kids.
He’s also just such an anxious dad with Kakashi, so why not toss in two diffrently but no less difficult kids for him to raise. You know, for funsies XD
I don’t think Kage summits were a big thing until the war (or at least they were very rare only under extreme circumstances) so i don’t see Sakumo having baby naruto strapped to him in a kage summit, but i do see him doing it in a meeting with the elders and oh BOY are they uncomfortable XD
I also have so many thoughts about Hokage Sakumo. Like, i like to headcanon Sakumo as a really good leader (Kakashi gets his tacticle intelligence from his mother and his leadership from his father) so i think he would be able to see that despite Gai’s wishes to have Kakashi removed from Anbu and made a Jonin sensei, that wouldn’t be good for him. Kakashi is not made to be a Sensei and that’s ok, and i think he would sit Gai down and explain that to him and come up with a diffrent plan to help his son.
So i think Tenzo would become team seven’s Sensei over Kakashi, as he still struggles but naturally has an easier time connecting with others than Kakashi does.
I think Kakashi would actually become the Head of Anbu if Sakumo was Hokage. It would be a promotion he would only get with the support of the current head of anbu, the jonin leader and a few others so Sakumo can’t be accused of favoritism, but it would be better suited for Kakashi
So Naruto ultimatly gets one big brother as his Sensei, and the other big brother is Anbu’s head. I think he’d be a proud and very well trained kid with Sakumo as his father

Another OOT question!
I know some people believe that Madara (adult) is misogynistic because of what he told Tsunade in the fourth war (about her being a weak woman) and that's a totally valid opinion! Taking into account that OOT's Madara clearly is not like that, I want to know what is your opinion regarding this. Personally, I think he didn't mean that because she is a woman she is weak, but that she is simply a woman and she is weak (like saying that she is a weak shinobi)
This got long lol
Honestly I've seen a few different theories, the "he's just a misogynist", the "Kishimoto knew he was getting backlash for how he portrays women so Madara said that and then Tsunade proved him wrong" (despite ultimately being beat), the "it was a mistranslation/comma theory and should have been read as 'you're weak, woman'" (I think is spiritually the same point you mention), the extremely creepy "well he hates women/doesn't like them this is obviously another hint he's gay" (which while this one is usually presented jokingly I dislike it so much. Male homosexuality has no intrinsic tie to misogyny and it just makes me so uncomfortable even as a joke.) However, my ultimate opinion is every character is some flavor of misogynist because Kishimoto is one and writes them like that in a mix of on purpose and by accident. This is kind of tricky because I don't know the man, I haven't consumed any content of his outside Naruto, and I don't make a habit of reading interviews or anything promotional about his writing process, so I'm reluctant to speak with any kind of definite authority but reading the manga or just watching the anime, in general, is just...terrible if you're focusing on how he portrays women and treats them like characters. This is a great essay that I like, but here are some main points that stick out to me about Kishimoto writing women.
First there are all the "missing women." By all accounts, ninja society should be split decently 50/50 on the sex ratio just like irl but...there's always one girl on a team of two boys. Besides Kurenai (and Tsume who's a special jonin but I'll count her) what prominent reoccurring female jonin do we see? Besides Anko what chunin? Count all the male characters you can and then the women and girls. Why are so many mothers housewives in magic ninja world with superpowers? Mikoto, Kushina, Yoshino, etc. How many of them don't even get named despite their husbands getting that basic acknowledgment? Ino's mom, Shino's mom, Choji's mom, Hinata's mom, Neji's mom, Gai's mom, Madara's mom, Hashirama's mom, etc.? Why out of every possible count of the Akatsuki is Konan the only woman (unless Taka is counted and then Karin is a member)?
Then there are types of women themselves. They're not allowed depth and most women's personalities can be divided by angry/shy dynamic as their main personality trait. They're always medics, always love interests, they never get to use their power to the extreme be taken seriously they're always handicapped by the narrative (see Konan and her powers as the biggest damn example of this). Sakura and Ino are the closest thing to actual friends two women are because there are so few of them in-universe but a big chunk of their relationship revolves around Sasuke. Even in that, women's relationships are ultimately dependent on men. Not even Tsunade is exempt from this. She never references Mito as an influence or major part of her character. Her biggest influences are Dan and Nawaki, her lover and her brother respectively. Her other influences were Hashirama, Hiruzen, Orochimaru, and Jiraiya. Shizune is the only woman she interacts with on a regular basis before Sakura but her story doesn't revolve around her relationship with Shizune, it's not even a major part narratively. Mei, the other extremely powerful woman with two kekkei genkai, who took over from Yagura and tried to restore Kiri's reputation from the bloody mist...is obsessed with marriage. Somehow I doubt if she'd been a man, that detail would have been kept.
I will not even begin to address the fucking mess Jiraiya is and how it's disgusting that he objectives Tsunade down to her body measurements and peeps on her in the bath all while claiming to be her friend.
And the saddest thing is this isn't just a Kishimoto problem. These are common things that are still present in media today. I hate the excuse "I don't know how to write women" it's just that, a lazy excuse. Ultimately I have no idea how canon Madara was supposed to come across with that line. I'm just not surprised or horrified by it at this point because there are so many other problems in the narrative.
OoT is my self-indulgent little fic where 95% of OCs of any kind will be women to try and drag that damn sex ratio back to even something decent and where all the looked over women will, at the very least, be given a fucking name. And I think I've mentioned in a comment or two on the fic, maybe even in one of the notes, but just in case I haven't it brings me sweet, sweet joy to headcanon the two most powerful men of their time, Hashirama and Madara, as momma's boys whose relationships with their mothers (especially Madara because of that line) cannot be overlooked or understated to understanding their characters in that AU. It's my fuck you to Kishimoto's way of handling women. And, I guess I'll announce it here lol, I'm reworking Kaguya's role in the narrative too and she's no longer getting scrapped in OoT because I'm going to make her make sense and work without alien bullshit and a flat female antagonist who appeared too late and didn't get proper build up.
#naruto#asks#al-stuffy#this turned into a rant lol#kishimoto handling women#that should be its own cw#out of time

Do yall ever just Make an AU Redesign the characters Write 11+ pages of pure notes on random ass ideas
Some character notes under the read-more!
So Couple things on the reasonings behind the different changes
Naruto:
his hair reflects more Uzumaki, because I’ve always resented the lack of similarity between him and Kushina. Let him have bits from his mom too!! So the idea was that his hair lightens as it grows, because if pink hair is possible, this is too, dammit
I inverted the colors of his jacket and changed his pants to black because, yknow, he’s supposed to be a ninja. He shouldn’t be running around in kill-me orange. I wanted it to maintain that childish but iconic orange but make it more lowkey
It isn’t very clear on the image, but i was trying to make his clothes really baggy and loose. I was thinking that if he has problems buying things due to the cruelty of the shop owners and other civilians, he wouldn’t have been able to really buy clothes as often as a growing child would need to. So he has these massive clothes that he just rolls up and run around in
jesus the more i write the more ideas i have
i want to make his hair longer and shaggier cause he’s a kid. He doesn’t know how to cut his own hair and cutting short hair is much harder than cutting long hair
Moving on from the clothes
I have a bit of a headcannon that the children of jinchuriki possess certain traits from the bijuu of their parent, esp if the bijuu chakra surrrounds the baby in the womb sO Naruto looks a tad more foxy. Even more foxy cause he is both a jinchuriki’s child AND a jinchuriki since a couple hours after birth
Thus his more oval pupils and slight purple coloring in the center
he also has yaeba! Endearingly crooked teef
Sakura:
There’s honestly not that much? that i could have changed with her?
it’s a more attitude and focus change that reflects a bit into her clothing
Instead of being infatuated with Sasuke and losing her friendship with Ino bc wtf , she holed away in the library and absorbed all the knowledge. She’s lonely, and she’s not really a people person like how Ino is, so she begins to read theories and history and anything else that catches her attention (which is a lot)
Reading all this made her more determined in her goal as a ninja and casts aside the civilian style vanity. She’ll look dangerous AND pretty, thank you very much
Her clothes are a tad darker because bright red is only marginally better than neon orange, and though not very visible, the skirt is a bit shorter
she has fingerless gloves and the bandages, mimicking different ninjas she sees around the village
Shorter hair because i think she would’ve tried putting her hair in a bun or a ponytail but then realized that weight and care of long hair just isn’t for her. Besides, she rocks the short haircut
i have no real reason for the belt other than i like the split between top and bottom
Sasuke:
I changed him the most (obviously)
Mmm while with the other two I had a more set reason for the different changes, I don’t quite have that for Sasuke
Similar to Sakura, I did want to change bits of his story in order to change certain story aspects HOWEVER I’m not entirely sure how i want to change things
The first couple ideas I had were to make Itachi more redeemable? I guess? Im not sure how I would word this but I wanted to make it easier for him to be forgiven by sasuke and the others. Make Sasuke question Itachi’s motives for killing the clan
and those ideas included the entire clan NOT being killed. Most of them, yes, but not all. Like killing most of the clan but a couple civilian Uchiha surviving. Stuff like that
And going off of that branch of thought, i was thinking a surviving Uchiha would take Sasuke in? Or maybe not but he still has Uchiha taking care of him in a certain way
building up on his own pride in the clan, kind of a “we survived this” grim pride? idk? anyways his clothes are more traditional inspired to kinda reflect that. Cause Uchiha always seemed the most traditional Japanese based group
he’s also the brother of a shinobi prodigy, born into a family of ninja (Mikoto was a JONIN), so he knows how to dress like a ninja. more pouches for extra supplies and a mesh undershirt as a bit of armor
and can’t forget those protective arm guards lmAOO
Honestly I’ve got like- so many ideas but my thought process is very much Not Linear so i’ve been screaming in this here pile of bees I need to think more on the middle instead of jumping straight to the end but yKNOW its a work in progress
#naruto#uchiha sasuke#haruno sakura#uzumaki naruto#redesign#fanart#au#alp art#this has honestly been a grEAT practice on drawing children#still a work in progress but im getting there#and also i made the uchiha dark dark red cause sharingan hehe#this took me too long to write because i kept getting distracted#and also its kinda long#oops#naruto fanart#honestly what are tags#team seven#nart art#nart au

Misunderstanding
Itachi looked at the paired Tantos that Sakura was holding out with some confusion. They were beautiful weapons, Blackened steel blades, well crafted and excellently balanced. The crossguard for one of the blades was a pair of outstretched black wings with a crow's head carved into the pommel, two jeweled red eyes peering out like a pair of sharingan. The second blade had an intricate feather design etched into the blade and a polished onyx gem handle, more subdued in design than the first but no less elegant. They were a perfect match for the pair of Uchiha prodigy they were intended for. Flashy and bold for the one and only Shisui of the body flicker and modest but refined and graceful for the quiet clan heir.
Shisui was already giggling like a schoolboy, leaning over Itachi’s shoulder as his younger cousin studied both th weapons and the kunoichi who had brought them.
Sakura was smiling shyly, her eyes jumping between the faces of the two Uchiha’s in front of her, taking in Itachi’s puzzled expression and Shisui’s excitement.
“Sasuke mentioned that your birthday was coming up and I realized that I’ve never given either of you a gift. You both have helped me so much to get stronger and I know that Uchiha don’t really celebrate their birthdays but I still wanted to get you both something. I’m sorry if it’s kind of lame, I guess you both probably have plenty of weapons but when I asked Kakashi, he said that giving someone a weapon is a good way to tell them how much you respect them…” She trailed off, her eyes finally stopping on Itachi’s face as understanding dawned on him.
“Thank you, Sakura-san. These are beautiful weapons.” A small smile crossed Itachi’s face, “But I don’t know if us accepting them is a good idea.”
Sakura’s smile faltered and her eyes dropped, “Oh…”
Itachi hissed in pain as Shisui pinched his arm and pushed himself forward to toss an arm around Sakura’s shoulders, “What my idiot cousin means by that is you really didn’t need to get us anything. I mean, it’s not like we’ve ever gotten you anything.”
“Speak for yourself.” Itachi hissed, “Just because you forget everyone’s birthdays every year…”
Shisui shot Itachi a glare, “Mr. Perfect over here is just trying to say that these are amazing and you are way too nice to us. Thanks a million Sakura-chan!” Shisui gingerly took his gift in his hands, testing the way the blade felt in his hands.
Sakura perked back up immediately, her small smile growing until it reached from ear to ear, “Oh it’s really nothing! After all, thanks to both of you I’m sure I’ll get promoted to Jonin. Honestly, these are the least I could do.”
Itachi caught Shisui’s eye out of the corner of his own. His lips pursed and his eyes narrowed ever so slightly in dismay at his cousin.
That’s not what I meant and you know it. One of us needs to tell her that we can’t keep these.
Shisui answered the glance with a smile and a quirk of his eyebrow.
Are you kidding me? Itachi these look amazing and expensive. We can’t offend her by not accepting them. Besides, I think she might cry if we don’t take them.
Itachi grimaced. Him and crying women never ended well. He always just stood there awkwardly, not sure what to do or what to say. Or he ended up saying the wrong thing and making them even more upset.
You know what people are going to think. One of us needs to tell her.
Shisui beamed at Itachi, his eyes shining with a hint of mischief.
No way. This is going to be funny as hell. Besides, just because it’s tradition for Uchiha to give engagement weapons instead of engagement rings doesn’t mean every gifted weapon is seen as a proposal. She isn’t a member of the clan, it isn’t like we’re the ones giving her weapons.
Itachi sighed, looking back to Sakura who was watching them both with an amused expression.
“Who won?”
“What?” Itachi and Shisui replied in unison.
Sakura laughed, “you guys just had one of your silent arguments, right? So which one of you won?”
“Me!” Shisui chirped, pulling Sakura closer to give her a kiss on the cheek, “Thanks a million and one, Sakura-chan!”
Itachi sighed and took the second tanto. He did have to admit it was a very nice weapon. He gave her a deep, respectful bow, “Yes, thank you Sakura-san. Your kindness is unrivaled in all of Konoha.”
Sakura flushed crimson but her smile only widened, “If you’d like, maybe we can all go get Dango after my shift at the hospital today.”
That managed to break through Itachi’s show of formality, his eyes lighting up at the mention of his favorite sweet. He leaned in and copied Shisui by placing a kiss on her other cheek.
“That sounds wonderful.”
Sakura’s face turned an even deeper shade of red at the rare show of affection from the clan heir and she quickly turned and started running off towards the hospital building, waiving as she left, “It’s a date! See you!”
As Shisui and Itachi headed back towards the district, Itachi gave Shisui a shove, glaring over at him.
Hey! What was that for?
Because I’m going to have to explain to Sakura if this whole joke of yours goes sour and you know it.
Oh common, Itachi, loosen up a little. You need to learn to have a little fun in life and not be such a stick in the mud.
Shisui stuck his tongue out at Itachi, earning a punch to the shoulder and another scowl from his cousin.
“Do you really think we have silent arguments that much?” Shisui asked as Itachi sighed in exasperation.
Sakura was used to walking through the Uchiha district. She had made the trip to the clan head’s house more times than she could count to bring home some item that Sasuke had left during training, bringing him homework when he stayed home sick, or letting him know when they had a last minute mission assignment. She was used to the icy reception she received every time she walked the streets, used to the glares that came her way from shopkeepers and the way people gave her a wide berth as she made her way to the heart of the Uchiha district.
But today something was different. Instead of avoiding her, people were waving at her. She had been stopped on her way to Sasuke’s by no less than three shopkeepers who were offering her small gifts or samples. Sakura was starting to question if some kind of strange illness had suddenly swept over the Uchiha because the amount of smiles that she was getting was absolutely disquieting.
“Sakura!” Mikoto was smiling brightly when she opened the door, “Itachi is out right now, but please come in.”
“Oh, that’s fine, I actually just came by to drop off some paperwork for Lord Fifth.” Sakura chuckled awkwardly, holding out the bundle of paperwork. It caught her off guard that Mikoto mentioned that Itachi was out since she usually assumed that Sakura was there to visit Sasuke.
“You came all this way, please why don’t you come in and have a cup of tea. I just finished a batch of cookies too!”
Sakura couldn’t see a reason to turn that down, “Sure, I can spare a few minutes. Thank you Mikoto-san.” Sakura gave a shallow bow and followed Mikoto into the house.
“We really need to have you by for dinner soon, Sakura-san. It’s been a while now, hasn’t it. I don’t think you’ve eaten a meal with us since you were a genin. Tell me, how is your work at the hospital going? Tsunade-sama has nothing but praises for her favorite student.”
Sakura ran a hand up through her hair, “Oh yeah, I guess it’s been a while. I guess since team 7 all started training under different sensei we haven’t spent as much time together.” It was a little sad. Sakura had so many good memories of getting together with Sasuke and Naruto over bowls of ramen, listening to the boys bicker.
“Things are going well. The hours are long but I’m helping a lot of people. I’m just thankful that Itachi and Shisui have been able to help me train despite my unconventional schedule.”
Mikoto’s smile brightened as she handed Sakura a cup of warm tea and a plate with two cookies on it, “That’s right! Itachi has mentioned your training sessions. I have to say, I didn’t expect them to lead to all this. It’s a bit unconventional, I’ll admit, but Itachi and Shisui have always been so close. I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised.”
Sakura paused mid sip. Lead to what? Is her training with Shisui and Itachi some kind of a problem? Maybe there was some kind of rules about training with non-uchiha that they were breaking by helping her?
“Oh I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to cause either of them any trouble.”
Mikoto peered over her own up of tea, “Oh don’t worry too much about Fugaku-san. He’ll come around. Believe it or not, he’s actually happy. I mean, sure he’d prefer for things to be a bit more...traditional...but really I think he was worried that Itachi would never get married so even if it’s a little unusual…”
Sakura spit out her tea, coughing and sputtering as she processed what Mikoto was saying.
“You...think...that…”
Mikoto frowned, “I saw the Tantos you gave them. They’re beautiful.”
Sakura nodded, hesitantly, “Yeah...I wanted...to…” She was struggling to find any way to form words, “Wanted to thank...thank them...for training me.”
Mikoto’s brow furrowed, “So it was just a gift? Didn’t Itachi explain it to you?”
Sakura shook her head, “He...He didn’t want to accept it, but Shisui said-”
It hit her. Shisui. Of course he would be the kind to get a laugh out of this. Letting her flounder around like this while-
“Wait does...Does the whole clan...Do they think that Itachi and I are getting married?” Sakura asked. Mikoto put her cup of tea aside and put a hand on Sakura’s shoulder.
“Of course. Well, Itachi and Shisui both. Like I said, unconventional, but no one really ever thought either of those boys would ever find a girl to settle down with. They could certainly do worse than the Hokage’s favorite apprentice. It’s tradition for our clan that you propose with a special weapon. Fugaku proposed to me with a pair of jade Kunai.”
Sakura reached up and rubbed at her temples. She was going to kill him. The next time she saw Shisui she was going to punch him so hard he’d wind up in Suna.

The character au ask thingy
Pick what you want to do ♡
Sukea, "no agency wants to hire him, but he's the best in the field" Spy au?
Shikaku, "I'm to old and tired for this shit, but someone has to do it right" Hokage au
Ibiki, "only one besides the Hokage, that knows all the creatures living in Konoha, and looks after them" Shifter au
Sukea-Spy Au
Sukea is a well known name in the spy community. He’s efficient, leaves no evidence behind except for some purple markings on a mirror or wall nearby what he was doing, and has never been caught.
He has never even been seen. No one knows what ‘Sukea’ looks like, which make’s it easy for him to slip in and out without detection.
No one wants to work with Sukea because he’s constantly thwarting their own missions, or just being kind of a big jerk to them, but at the same time he’s one of the best spy’s they’ve ever seen (but also not seen XD) and it would be terrible if he joined another organization.
So while no one wants to work with him, they do want him to work for them. It’s better than having him as an enemy.
Problem is, no one knows who he is so they have no idea how to find him or offer him work.
It’s kind of a whole mess, but they keep trying.
the funniest part of it all for Sukea, is that he works at the cafe that Gai and Tenzo all like to frequent at separate times, and flirts with each of them whenever they’re in.
They just don’t recognize him because they have no idea what he looks like.
Shikaku-Hokage Shikaku Au
After Minato and Kushina’s death, Shikaku decides he has had enough. Even during his short time as Hokage, Minato was starting to make some real good changes to the system. Not perfect, but good.
He does not want to go back to Hiruzen’s way of doing things, so when Hiruzen says he’ll to back to being Hokage Shikaku protests and puts his name forward as Hokage.
He may not be the strongest in the village, but he is the smartest and that has to be worth something.
It’s a struggle of course. There are people who support him, and people who don’t. In the end though, he has the unwavering support of the jonin’s and that’s what he needs to be Hokage. So Hiruzen steps down and Shikaku takes the spot.
Not his favorite job to do, but he’s here now and there is no turning back.
First course of action, Danzo.
It’s no secret Shikaku hates and doesn’t trust Danzo, so he wants to know what exactly Danzo is up. To do so, he asks one of his best Anbu operatives to help him out. Hatake Kakashi.
When Danzo approaches Kakashi about joining Root, Shikaku isn’t at all surprised. In fact, he expected it. Kakashi is a feared name already at age 14, of course Danzo wants him and others like him.
So Shikaku make’s a plan and plants Kakashi in Root.
It works perfectly, though it does take a few years. By the time Kakashi is 16, he has enough info to give to Shikaku that allows him to face Danzo head on, and the fun part of that is Shikaku is not alone. He’s not going to fight Danzo, danzo would win. But he will destroy him. Make sure everyone knows what he has done to ‘protect’ Konoha.
Danzo has almost zero support in Konoha after that, and is banished. Shikaku naturally doesn’t think this will be the end of Danzo, but it is the end of Root in Konoha and he’s ok with that.
Tenzo ends up joining them. Two years with Kakashi as a partner has given Tenzo the escape from Danzo he needed, and he’s more than happy to leave the old man’s side to join Kakashi and Shikaku.
After Danzo’s taken care of, he needs to deal with the Uchiha.
Thankfully, with Shikaku as Hokage the Uchiha weren’t ostracized more because of the Kyubi attack. He actually asks Mikoto to adopts Naruto, which she is more than happy to do.
Unfortunatlly, there’s still resentment and hatred. It was seeded into the ground long before he took over and now he has to find a way to fix it.
Part of his solution is replacing Hiruzen’s elder council members with members from various clans. Fugaku, Inoichi, Choza, Hiashi, and others.
Honestly, one of the good things about being hokage is putting Fugaku and Hiashi into a room and watching them argue.
It’s beautiful
Ibiki - Shifter au
Every shifter is listed in a database as soon as they are discovered. Partially to know what kind of specialized missions they might be used for, partially just to keep track of them.
This does unfortunately mean that people with ill intentions who get hold of that database can hurt those who are shifters.
Ibiki himself is a shifter, able to transform into a salamander (it’s cool i love them so much!)
He’s the first person on sight when a new shifter is discovered, wanting to make sure that they’re safe and that they know they’ll be protected from people who try to hurt or use them.
Unfortunatly for him, he can’t save every shifter. One big issue that sticks with him for years is Tenzo, who they didn’t even know existed at all for years until Kakashi dragged him out of Riot.
Some of the cases Ibiki handles hands on, picking missions for them and doing check ups on them, are Kakashi (a Shiba Inu dog), Maito Gai (a tortoise), Genma (a crane), Anko (a snake) and Kurenai (a Ussuri brown bear).
There are clans of shifters that take care of themselves, such as the Nara’s. As well as Clans that will protect anyone born into their clan that turns out to be a shifter (The uchiha won’t allow anyone else to take care of their shifters, for example. The Hyuga are also very protective of their shifters and hate non clan members trying to interfier)
Once every two weeks Ibiki scheduals a check up with every shinobi shifter under his care, while someone else takes care of any of the civilians who happen to be a shifter.
Kakashi is his most difficult one, because he refuses to talk most days even though Ibiki can always tell there’s a lot on his mind. Gai and Kurenai are his most relaxing, easy one’s.
He actually starts having his meet ups with Kakashi and Gai at the same time because he notices Kakashi opens up a bit more with Gai around.

Always Staying After a Fall
"I heard you're in the Academy, Kyoko-chan."
Kyoko looked away from Kakashi and Rin's spar to stare up at the man beside her. "Minato-san," she greeted. "Did Obito tell you that?"
Minato grinned, looking at where said student was practicing his kunai drills. "He's very proud of you. Was actually early to practice for once so that he could boast about how smart you are."
She smiled, her chest feeling warm at that. She looked back towards the spar, watching as Kakashi caught Rin in a throw and then moved back to let her regain her bearings. "Did he tell you that I moved up a year?"
Minato made a noise of surprise. He shifted next to her, and when she looked at him again he was sitting down, blinking at her wide wide eyes. "Already?"
"I think Masuyo-sensei wanted me to go to a class where I wasn't bored by the information."
"You were bored?"
Kyoko nodded, only half of her attention on the conversation. She'd forgotten how aggressive Kakashi was in his spars when he was younger. So desperate to prove himself. So afraid he wouldn't be able to. When Rin hit the ground again, Kyoko finally looked up at Minato. "She's a good sensei."
"I'm sure she is." The jonin tilted his head to the side, considering her. "I don't think even Kakashi moved up that quickly. It's only been a few weeks, right?"
"Four, now. I moved up last Friday."
"Kakashi's the youngest to have ever graduated." Minato chuckled. "He'll be upset if you destroy his record."
Kyoko straightened in alarm, eyes widening. "You think so?" she asked, voice cracking. "I don't want to make him upset."
He paused. "I, I was joking." His brow furrowed. "Kakashi will be fine. What you're doing is very impressive, Kyoko-chan."
That . . . probably had seemed like an overreaction to him. She forced a long, slow breath and then a smile. "Thank you."
— — — — —
Mikoto had taken Itachi to feed him, Obito had given in to Shisui's demands to show him how to do a handstand, and Fugaku had retreated to his office to take care of clan duties. So Kyoko took the time alone as the opportunity it was and settled down just around the edge of the house. In a spot where she wouldn't be seen right away by someone looking for her, but where it wouldn't be assumed she was hiding either. She sat down in the grass and leaned back against the engawa.
She dug out the small box she'd packed that morning with three tomatoes taken from the kitchen. It wasn't like anyone was going to miss them. Shisui wouldn't remember they were there, Obito still had two more to use, and Kagami would expect them to be gone anyway by the time he returned. She selected one tomato and set it in front of herself. Then she closed the box.
Kyoko took a deep breath and placed her palm on the tomato, closing her eyes. She'd used this chakra hundreds and hundreds of times. She knew the feeling, she knew the technique, she knew the right way to do it. This body didn't, though, and that was the problem.
She been pressing her iryo-chakra into the tomato, trying to strain it into its most harmless and most useful form, for no more than three seconds before the tomato burst.
She wrinkled her nose in distaste, both for her failure and for the fruit splattered across the ground and her hand. She replaced it with a new tomato and pressed her palm against it, closing her eyes. Time to try again.
"Kyoko-chan!"
Kyoko jumped in alarm. The tomato exploded from a sudden influx of surprised chakra. She stared at it. The green around her hand faded away. Then she twisted around so she could look up at where Mikoto was standing on the engawa, staring at her with wide eyes.
"Kyoko!" Obito yelled, tumbling around the other side of the house with Shisui close behind. "What happened? Are you okay? Oh no! You're bleeding! Obasan—"
"Obito, no, she's not bleeding," Mikoto said, putting an arm out to stop him. Her brow furrowed. "She's fine. Right, Kyoko-chan?"
Kyoko swallowed and wiped the tomato off on her pants. She couldn't manage words so she nodded instead.
The door opened. "Mikoto?" Fugaku called. "What's wrong?"
She turned, looking back at him. "Nothing's wrong. Kyoko-chan, why don't you show him?"
Fugaku frowned, looking from his wife to the girl. "Show me what?"
Kyoko pulled herself to her feet, taking a deep breath. She held out her hand and focused. Green chakra gathered in her palm.
Fugaku's eyes widened just barely and he stepped forward, kneeling down on the edge of the engawa so he could reach her. His fingers slid around her wrist, turning her hand so that he could see better but not actually touching the iryo-chakra. "Incredible," he murmured. His gaze flicked up to meet hers.
She straightened when she realized his sharingan was on. Kyoko squared her shoulders. "Thank you."
"Kyo-chan, that's amazing!" Obito said, lurching forward. "I didn't know you were learning how to be a medic-nin."
"I want to be like Tsunade-sama," she said firmly. "I want to be a medic nin, but I want to fight too."
He grinned. "You should talk to Rin-chan, then! She wants to be like Tsunade-sama to, and she's totally going to do it. Plus, she really likes you. She'd like you talking to her about it."
Kyoko's heart swelled and she smiled. "Really? I'd love to."
"Kyoko-chan," Fugaku called. When she looked at him, he finally released her and rose to feet. He gave her a nod. "Work hard. I'm impressed."
"Thank you. And I will."
— — — — —
Once upon a time, Kyoko had survived a war, survived the Kyuubi, survived ANBU. She had matched Hatake Kakashi's graduation scores with her own. She had studied under one of the most feared kunoichi across all the Hidden Villages. She was by no means unskilled.
But she couldn't get her sharingan down to one tomoe.
Kyoko scowled and told herself that breaking another mirror would only worsen how worried her father was. So instead, she just groaned and leaned her forehead against the cool surface.
Well, if she couldn't lower the number of tomoe then maybe she should just try going the other direction.
She opened her eyes, staring at the sharingan reflected back at her less than an inch away. The tomoe twisted and morphed and spread into a star. The eight points stretched out and sharpened.
And then, for just the briefest moment, the black molded itself into a three-bladed shuriken.
Kyoko jerked back, catching a glimpse of her mangekyo—her mangekyo—in the mirror as she fell. She hit the ground hard and curled in on herself, air catching in her throat. Her eyes ached as she cut off her chakra, and she pressed her hands over her face.
"Kyoko!" Obito called through the door. He knocked loudly. "Are you okay? Did you drop something?"
She bit down on her lip and squeezed her eyes shut. Tears burned a path for themselves down her face. "I'm fine," she called out, voice cracking. "Just, just tripped."
"Are you sure?" he asked, voice rising. "Kyo-chan—"
"I'm fine, Niichan!" She wrapped her arms around her middle and hunched over on herself. "I just fell. That's, that's all."
"Okay," he said slowly. "Be careful."
Kyoko winced. "I will."
