Once again, some engineering undergraduates have overestimated their own prowess and summoned something when they should have been finishing their homework. The engineering TAs would like to take this moment to remind all the engineering majors that it is not a part of our jobs to track down whatever you summon and that you will fail any and all assignments that summon anything. As per university policy, we cannot grade summonings.
As a precaution, until further notice, the maker’s space is now closed to all students. Access will only be allowed under the direct supervision of a TA (good luck finding us) or a professor (assuming you can find one outside of office hours). All senior theses must be hypothetical - any practical theses proposals have been retroactively rescinded. Laboratory research is expected to continue as usual.
Safety is everyone’s responsibility when working with the unknown! Your TAs have prepared some helpful reminders to reduce the chances this happens again.
Complete the mandatory Elsewhere Lab Safety Training! If you do not complete this by the end of the quarter, things will befall you! Don’t test our patience!
Never work alone in the lab! Not only is this bad practice for most experiments, but two are better than one when it comes to stopping unusual lab problems.
Carry your iron rod, salt packet, and water bottle at all times. Replacement rods are available at the academic advising office, salt packets can be taken from the dining halls, and water bottles can be found at the athletics department.
All projects must be made out of iron. For iron alloys and composites, consult a TA, professor, or postdoc to see if the iron percentage is higher than the threshold.
Follow university policy regarding safety best practices in the classroom and around campus.
Bioengineers: only use samples acquired directly from other labs. Neither Elsewhere University nor the Engineering Department can guarantee that samples arrive uncontaminated (remember the Great Homunculi disaster?).
Electrical engineers: the efficacy of copper against the Fair Folk is still yet to be determined. Do not listen to the upperclassmen who tell you that copper works just as well as iron. This has been suspected to be a way of hazing new students and violated the university hazing policies.
Chemical engineers: use the fume hoods. Accidents happen much less often when working in a well-ventilated area.
Civil engineers: your steel pins may contain too little iron to be useful. Do not rely on them in a pinch. Yes, they look cool, but it’s better to be safe than sorry. Your faculty advisors will be conducting iron checks to ensure you have enough iron on you at all times.
Mechanical engineers: how many times do we have to remind you that just because something could work doesn’t mean it’s a good idea to build it? Remember the machine that nonstop summoned things for weeks? And how hard that was to stop? Please don’t build that again, or anything like it.
And, as always, report accidents to the relevant safety authorities. The sooner the damage is evaluated, the sooner it can be contained and fixed.
On behalf of the entire department, we preemptively thank you for adjusting to this change in departmental policy.
Please understand that your midterm grades will be coming out late, as we are working hard to understand what was summoned and how: if anyone has information about it, please direct it to the Dean’s office.

Over the past five years, renewable energy generation has grown at a compound annual rate of 23 per cent in the global south, versus 11 per cent in the world’s richest economies. RMI defines the global south as Africa, Latin America, south and south-east Asia, and excludes China and the major fossil fuel exporters in Eurasia and the Middle East.
Seventeen per cent of energy demand in the global south comes from countries where the solar and wind share of electricity generation is higher than that in the world’s richest economies. These countries include Mexico, Brazil and Morocco.
Importantly, these findings compare rates of growth, not total generation capacity installed. (This makes sense, since many developing countries started their energy transitions more recently, and are therefore starting from a lower base.) While the global south is not yet adding more renewable power than rich economies in absolute terms, RMI expects that trend to flip by the end of this decade, largely due to the drastic cost decline in renewable technology.
“Even with the lack of commitment from the global north, in terms of their funding for the global south, this technology is very much in the money,” RMI report co-author Vikram Singh told me. “It’s boom time in the global south” for green energy, he said.
Tumblr media
It’s not only falling costs that are driving deployment. The global south could actually achieve a faster energy transition than richer economies, RMI argues, for a few reasons:
Richer countries went first: By installing solar and batteries when they were more expensive, more developed countries ate some costs and ironed out the kinks in deployment.
More sun: Many developing countries are closer to the equator, meaning more intense sunlight.
Less steel in the ground: Many emerging markets have less legacy fossil fuel infrastructure to deal with — and less of an entrenched fossil fuel lobby.
Finally, RMI thinks the global south has a geopolitical edge in the transition: developing countries are more open to sourcing the cheapest renewable technologies, which overwhelmingly come from China. By contrast, trade tensions could drive up the cost of the transition in the west.

Can I Follow You Home? - Traitor Primarch Ver. (Modern AU)
If you ask Can I Follow You Home...
*: Character design from #projectepd, see character design pics here: ☆
Magnus
If you want to visit Magnus at his mansion in the New Capital, he might scrutinize your email with pursed lips for a while. From the subject line to the signature, and even the style and wording of the text—if you're lucky and what you propose happens to pique his interest, he might allow you to come by with a research proposal for consultation.
Magnus's mansion truly lives up to its original meaning. He won't greet you at the door; instead, he'll instruct you via email which room to go to, explicitly marking areas off-limits without permission. You have to tread carefully as soon as Amon opens the door for you, as you'll sense the space is filled with various antiques, rare books, specimens, and other collectibles. Whether it's hand-copied manuscripts with ink still fresh or prayer books adorned with jewels, the cabinets display a vast array, while numerous scrolls and carvings are sealed behind thick glass.
Amon will lead you to the reception room on the second floor, which, to be honest, leaves hardly any space to walk. The carpet is thick and soft, giving you the sensation of walking on sand. You can be sure there are cats in the house, as you spot cat hair on the couch and objects. However, unfortunately, the mansion is too large, and all the cats have hidden away. Magnus sits on the innermost sofa in the reception room, waiting for you to present your research report. During this time, you can smell the sweet aroma of wine and beeswax, a scent compounded with the heavy dust in the air, almost dizzying.
While he peruses your work, it's strongly advised not to let your gaze linger on areas of the room obviously concealed. If you were to discreetly lift a blanket or push a cabinet to reveal the modern lighting and the opposite cabinet, you'd find various movie props, first edition comics, signed posters by game designers, and perhaps even his secluded gaming den filled with numerous controllers, game boxes, and Blu-ray discs. If you were to really do that... Well, okay, okay, Amon, please show the guest out.
Perturabo
It's hard to imagine Perturabo introducing his house to anyone, but if there's anywhere in the world that brings him peace of mind, it's probably his own steel-reinforced safe house. This house is located at a secret address, accessible only through a long, narrow underground passage.
If you were to actually enter it, you might find yourself completely in the dark. That's because this place requires Perturabo's personal authentication to activate, and there's even an Iron Circle robot at the entrance—whether it can be activated or not is uncertain, but it looks quite formidable. Additionally, there's a rather intimidating set of exoskeletons, making you feel like you've stepped onto a movie set.
After navigating through various security measures, you finally reach an explosion-proof door. Behind this door lies a small room equipped with a separate escape hatch and water pump system, doubling as a precision mechanical workshop. From here, Perturabo can monitor all the activities in his main residence. It's like a doomsday bunker with comprehensive systems for any contingency. Here, Perturabo contemplates or crafts devices in absolute safety and silence, free from any possible disturbance, making it one of the few places where he can find complete tranquility. Sometimes, he spends entire weekends here alone, dedicating his time to constructing and manufacturing machinery. He even manages sleep on a mechanical bench or a hardboard bed. Then, at the beginning of the week, he returns to his regular duties, and of course, the items he manufactures here are never given to anyone.
If you find the space a bit cramped, you can activate the artificial scenery function on the multi-panel screens to display realistic landscapes. However, there's one obvious drawback: Perturabo hasn't equipped the house with any kitchen facilities, so if you're really hungry, you might have to make do with a few biscuits and water.
Fulgrim
Imagine visiting Fulgrim's mansion— which one, though? Let's go with the one he's been favoring lately. The walls of this mansion are painted in dazzling purple, and the satin on the velvet couches shimmers with a soft, enticing glow, but none of this compares to how he looks when he opens the door wearing his cozy housecoat. No more high-heeled boots or leather shoes, just bare feet adorned with a pair of fuzzy deep purple slippers. As you step inside, he'll surely ask you what music you'd like to listen to, and as you ponder which record suits this warm, radiant evening, he'll inquire about your drink preferences and if you'd like some snacks—too many choices might leave you a bit overwhelmed, but Fulgrim has already selected a few that he's perfected. Herbal tea, mille-feuille, a selection of classical recordings from the La Fenice Theater—the needle of the record player gently drops, and you never imagined you'd hear his collection in the home of this opera master.
You might find yourself sitting on a couch that's unbelievably soft, not as tidy as you'd imagine, adorned with dried flowers and fabric samples. But the pillows and cushions you hold emit delightful scents, and he promises to send you home with a sample of his handmade incense. And because the snacks are so delicious, you have to be careful not to eat too quickly. If you're full, you might explore the dressing rooms on the second floor—or should I say, the entire second floor is dressing rooms. Each room has floor-length mirrors and professional lighting fixtures, showcasing a variety of costumes, identical to those seen on the opera stage, down to the hand-sewn details. He'll show you the rooms for shoes and hats, the sheer volume from floor to ceiling is staggering, and you realize Fulgrim can clearly recall which designer or era each piece is from.
And if you're having a delightful conversation with him at this moment, he'd be more than happy to show you his clothing design sketches in the studio on the third floor. But as you step into the study, you might inhale sharply— the room is filled with numerous magazines and movie posters, all featuring his various personas. However, you can't help but admit that none of the pictures in the books seem as vivid and lifelike as the person standing before you.
Lorgar Aurelian
You initially prepared to visit Lorgar and expected it to be a public display, but you ended up at his private residence instead. He waits at the door for you before your arrival, claiming he anticipated this.
Lorgar's actual room is quite modest, even modern. People often forget his profession and find it hard to imagine his modern side. The room is so standard it could pass for a rental in the city, with some potted plants on the balcony. You gaze at him in his high-neck sweater, feeling a bit surprised—it's an uncommon sight.
There's still a faint scent of incense in the air, much like what you often smell in Word Bearer churches. Under Lorgar's gaze, you might need to change into slippers and shoe covers before entering. His bookshelf isn't stocked with books but scattered with wooden or metal ornaments, making you realize he has a habit of discarding or burning books after reading them. Interestingly, there are some modern-looking self-help and popular psychology books on the shelf, which Lorgar might explain are for Angron.
There are very few electronic devices in his home, not even digital clock screens, still relying on a very quaint chiming clock and occasionally using an old laptop and a fax machine for work. Judging by the dust, it seems Lorgar doesn't use them often. When you inquire about this, he mentions he still prefers handwritten letters. If you ask, he might even show you the Word Bearer seal. Interestingly, the ink pens and other items he uses daily are all handmade. As you approach the desk, you can smell a distinct classical ink scent. However, he expresses regret that he can't offer you any souvenirs—after all, his handwriting and signature are too precious, and you wouldn't know what to do with a true relic.
Angron
The idea of visiting Angron's home was rather nerve-wracking, to say the least. Honestly, if it weren't for the TV station's insane idea of doing this special program, chances are you wouldn't have had the opportunity to explore. However, what was likely aired on the show probably wasn't what you truly saw today. The Nuceria Wrestling League probably wanted to stage more stimulating scenes for the audience, so they might have taken away some items from here later and set them up elsewhere for shooting.
You shift your gaze back to the house in front of you, evidently arranged by Nuceria as Angron's residence, a luxurious apartment. Angron storms out of the bathroom, still dripping with water. He seems entirely unwilling to bother drying himself off. You can see water seeping onto the floor, clearly cleaned regularly by Nuceria's arranged personnel, replacing the vases and cabinets Angron smashes with new ones. No matter how roughly he treats the space he occupies, it returns to its original state after a while—you even feel that might be the reason for his anger.
You glance at the dining table, where Angron's previously endorsed cereals and protein bars lie. But you're pretty sure he doesn't eat them himself. Even the entire kitchen looks brand new, untouched by him, but you know another wrestler, Kharn, and their agent, Ms. Sarrin, sometimes use it to prepare simple meals.
The bathroom Angron just came out of doesn't have many bathing supplies; instead, it's stocked with bandages and painkillers you wouldn't typically find in a household. Next door is an entire home gym, a rarity, with a variety of exercise equipment dazzling the eyes, and the battered punching bag makes you shudder. Angron would smirk and say this place is just for show, with only the punching bag being somewhat useful. His real training is obviously in a more professional gym, and this place is probably just an assumption made by Nuceria.
You're surprised to see a cramped compartment, seemingly originally used as a small storage room. But when you discreetly open the door, you discover a hidden world inside. There are many scribbled to-do lists and tips from counseling centers, and a few crumpled manuals on the table. There's a pen holder made from a crushed soda can, with two or three stubby pencils inside. Before you can figure out what exactly this place is for, Angron grabs you by the scruff like a rabbit and drags you out.
Konrad Curze
In a sense, his home could even be considered a tourist attraction—if you're a fan of urban legends or folk horror radio shows, you've probably heard of the infamous haunted mansion at 50 Berkeley Square. Its notoriety isn't just historical; it's also connected to Konrad Curze. Some say he lived there, while others claim Curze himself is the source of the eerie tales about the mansion... Urban legends only get more mysterious as they circulate. If you're a social media influencer or a haunted house explorer, or even if you're looking to invest in real estate and have enough courage, perhaps you could try entering.
Of course, the faint-hearted should go during the day, but the brave, unafraid of death, can choose nighttime. The atmosphere and the gusts of fog alone are enough to make one gulp down a pot of tea, and as you shiver while trying to push open the mansion's front door, only to find it immovable, you might need a helping hand or a ladder to climb through the broken window on the east side—actually, Curze usually exits from here; he doesn't have much of a concept of using the front door, but he's rather fond of the gargoyle on the roof.
There are appliances in the house, and you can even try turning on the lights, but you must be wary of potential electrical hazards, as you have no idea where the wires are connected, definitely not to code. There are suspicious marks on the wooden floorboards—let's refuse to ponder whether they're claw marks or bloodstains, carefully avoiding all hazardous areas, and you'll find that the mansion is like a massive secret chamber or maze. Many of the upholstered or leather furniture pieces are either covered in dust or in a state of disrepair. A large portion of them is even strewn across the floor, blocking your path. After finally maneuvering past the creaky floorboards and reaching the kitchen, you're pleasantly surprised to find that not only are the lights functioning, but the fridge is also plugged in! However, after noticing the suspicious traces seeping from the fridge and cabinets, perhaps it's better not to open them...
You turn to look at the kitchen utensils on the countertop—they're quite new, most likely brought over by Fulgrim, who is always dedicated to getting Curze's life back on track. You're certain the bath salts strewn everywhere in the bathroom and the torn bath bombs are also his doing. As you contemplate further exploration of the other rooms in the house, Curze, who has suddenly appeared on the sofa, emits a hissing sound, forcing you to stop in your tracks. He blends completely into the darkness, using the unplugged wires to tell you he doesn't like too much light in the house. Curze curls up on the torn sofa, the once black and yellow fuzz now darkened and scattered from the overturned cushions.
Mortarion
If you're one of his trusted Deathshroud laboratory assistants, you might get the chance to visit his private residence. You'd disembark in the backyard, not at the front gate. Upon entering, you might initially think it's a karesansui garden. However, upon closer inspection, you'd discover that the tiered flower beds and foliage are actually arranged in intricate geometric patterns, following the mysterious Fibonacci sequence found in nature. You'd notice many plants with peculiar shapes or overly vibrant colors, and your intuition would tell you to stay far away from them. Mortarion breathes in the air of the courtyard through his mask, his fingers almost grazing the plants.
After circling the garden, you'd enter his home. It's eerily quiet, to the point where you can hear the chirping of insects from the courtyard. Mortarion is wearing nothing but a thin plain robe indoors, which obscures his overly pale skin, giving off an unsettling chill.
He would draw the curtains when the sun rises, shrouding the interior in dim shadows. You might find yourself unable to resist looking at the printed numerical sequences on the walls of his room, as well as the insects and plant specimens framed in display cases. And the darker the environment, the more lifelike they appear. If you stare long enough, you might almost feel as if they're about to flutter their wings at any moment. As you walk along the walls, you'd come across a fish tank illuminated only by scenery and a dim green light, devoid of any fish. Just as you can't help but wonder what happened in there, you catch a faint whiff of formaldehyde from the closed door nearby.
At that moment, dusk sets in. Mortarion suddenly pulls back the curtains, startling everyone present. Yet, he casually produces homemade wine from the courtyard. If you're lucky enough, you might be treated to these drinks alongside other visiting Deathshroud members—you all instinctively don't think to refuse such a possibility.
Horus Lupercal
Horus's current residence is the result of a black market deal after a fire many years ago, but now it's deemed 'completely legitimate and legal,' with records in the Luna Wolves' archives even documenting the hefty property taxes they dutifully pay.
The overall style of the house bears a striking resemblance to the Wolves' old home in Sicily, likely because Sejanus and others brought over a fair amount of furniture from there. They even had a massive oven installed for occasional nostalgic pizzas or bread reminiscent of home. Whenever Horus needs to meet privately with the Mournival, it's almost always held in the ground floor of this house. They would sit around a long table, surrounded by paintings by artists who once owed substantial debts, hanging on the walls and ceiling. Torgaddon once quipped that while meetings in this environment were bearable, eating was out of the question—prompting an immediate reprimand from Abaddon.
If you're one of Horus's trusted confidants, you might have the chance to see the final painting in that series, displayed alone in his living room. Surprisingly, his room doesn't entirely adhere to the style of the rest of the house; it's more minimalistic, with fewer decorative furnishings, featuring only a bookcase, a bed, a clothes rack, a drinks cabinet, and a table. The bookcase holds a collection of epic, literary, and historical works. If you catch him in a good mood, he might allow you to pour a drink or help him hang up his suit jacket. Whether to add ice, how much ice to add, whether to send it to the dry cleaners, and where to hang it all become matters of importance. And if you get it right, Horus might relax a bit, loosen his tie, and share the story behind the painting with you. But the test has only just begun; either stay silent and listen carefully or ask the most precise questions to help him tell the story he's told a thousand times before. And if you happen to mention some keywords he doesn't like, then all efforts will be in vain. Remember, caution is key.
Alpharius
You walk into a room.
As for what kind of room it is, you feel it's a bit like an employee dormitory, yet also reminiscent of a single room in a budget hotel.
It looks completely fine. Neat, clean, with items that are ninety percent new, not overly pristine to make it difficult to use, yet appropriately lacking a sense of warmth. You attempt to turn on the lights in the room, only to discover that all the power sockets perfectly match your lifestyle, requiring almost no additional adapters or special interfaces. Speaking of interfaces... where is your phone? Realizing this, you glance at the coffee table and the cabinet above it, noticing that the room is not equipped with any telephones.
You suspect your phone might be in the pocket of your coat, so you try to open the wardrobe in the room. Inside, there are three hangers, each holding your outerwear for different seasons, perfectly matching your size and dressing habits. However, they are all brand new, without any signs of being worn.
Despite thinking it's impossible, you still check the pockets of these clothes. In the inner pocket of your winter coat, you find a business card. There's only one name on the card.
You feel a dizzy spell. How long has it been since you last ate? A wave of weakness washes over you, and you collapse onto the unwrinkled bed.
You wake up to the sound of your own phone ringing. As you regain consciousness, you find yourself lying in your most familiar bed. The scent, the pillows, the blankets all make you feel incredibly safe. You sigh with relief, realizing you've just had a strange dream - but it's all over now, isn't it? You pick up your phone, intending to freshen up.
After a moment, you realize there seems to be something under your phone.
It's a business card.

To an unbelieving world Stalin announced in early 1933 that the former backward peasant Russia had become the world’s second industrial country. The number of workers employed in industry had doubled from eleven to twenty-two million; the volume of industrial output had also doubled. An iron and steel industry of large proportions had been created. Tractors, automobiles, harvester combines, and every variety of modem machine was being produced. They were being produced inefficiently and with tremendous wastage, which caused loud groans from all the American engineer consultants.
“We wasted and broke machines,” admitted Stalin. “But we gained what is more important – time!”
In the same brief period some twenty million tiny, uneconomic subsistence farms were combined into 200,000 large farms (by 1940 it was 240,000) based on machine power, division of labor and scientific methods. At first they were even less efficiently run than the industries for they operated under locally elected management, chosen by the farmers who had pooled their lands. For two years farming was dislocated, not, as often claimed, by Moscow’s enforcement of collectivization but by the fact that local people, eager to be first at the promised tractors, organized collective farms three times as fast as the plan called for, setting up large scale farming without machines and even without book-keepers. In 1932-33 the whole land went hungry; all food everywhere was rigidly rationed. (It has been often called a famine which killed millions of people, but I visited the hungriest parts of the country and while I found wide-spread suffering, I did not find, either in individual villages or in the total Soviet census, evidence of the serious depopulation which famine implies.) The government met the emergency by drawing on the better trained personnel of industry and sent to the rural districts several thousand of the country’s best organizers – factory managers, army officers, agricultural experts – to help organize the farms. The result was at once apparent in the good harvest of 1933. After this, farming rapidly and permanently improved.

Beginning Card and Page 1
Rules and Information
This game is NOT created by me, I am just playing a game I own with all of you! It's made by Prospero Hall based on the book by R. A. Montgomery
Content Warnings as of now for this game: Violence, weapons, injuries, death, monsters. This game might trigger those of you who deal with unreality.
Taglist: @greymillieattheball
Your Psychic Scale is at 1. Your Danger level is at 3.
You start with a bottle of water (Discard to reduce danger level by up to 3, minimum of 3 danger level) and a pocketknife (+1 to fighting)
Chapter One: The Grounds
It's a Tuesday morning in late June, and you wake up in a cold sweat. The nightmares came again last night. Even though you are an aspiring detective and psychic investigator, you haven't been able to make sense of the haunting dreams you've had these past few weeks. In your dreams you keep seeing the same spooky house. You're still shivering under the covers when you hear the phone ring downstairs in your basement, where you have your combination office and research laboratory. you dash down to the lab to answer it.
"I need... I need...," a weak voice says when you pick up the receiver. "I need your hel-l-l-lp." You hear a loud click and the line goes dead.
But you were prepared: while the caller was talking, you activated your high-speed telephone tracking device. It instantly displays the caller's number: 555-7259.
You call back the number right away, but there's no answer. After consulting the tall stack of reverse phone books behind your desk, you are disappointed to learn the number is unlisted.
You sense that the phone call is somehow related to your nightmares.
Later, while at the Hedge Brook Police Station to return a night scope you borrowed for a recent stakeout, you describe the mysterious phone call and your recurring dreams to your friend, Sergeant Morrison.
"That call does sound strange," he says. "We'll look into it."
"And about that house in your dreams," a voice says from the hallway. "I wonder if you're dreaming about the Marsden house out on Hedge Brook Road." Detective Murphy sticks his mustached face in the room.
"Modern house, ornate gate... That sounds like the Marsden place, all right," says Sergeant Morrison. "Strange things are reported to happen out there."
Detective Murphy takes a puff on his pipe. "That place is haunted," he says. "I know it sounds unprofessional, but I've had a file on the Marsden house for years, and I'm sure of it." He waves a folder in front of your eyes, and a phone number written on the front jumps out at you. It matches the one from your mysterious phone call.
So the call is related to your night-mares - your psychic sense was right!
Draw Clue 26: It reads: Chapter 1 Goal: Get Inside The Marsden House.
Back at home, you grab a bottle of water and a pocketknife, preparing for a new investigation. Half an hour later, you stand before the Marsden residence, which appears exactly as it did in your nightmares. The house's futuristic look is a strange contrast to the antiquated appearance of the stone wall and the wrought iron gate, which is locked shut and wrapped in steel chains.
Even though the air is balmy, a chill travels down your spine. The gathering clouds on the horizon hint at a brewing summer thunderstorm.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you search the wall for a way in?
Do you climb the gate to get in?
Vote for your choice in the kofi poll

Note
What is Nixelagos' preferred spec as a warlock from an ooc in-game perspective, but also does he lean towards a certain spec ic?
Tumblr media
Nixalegos is a destruction warlock. This isn't to say he's a slouch when it comes to demonology, his mastery of binding greater summons is commendable, his will hardened to steel, enforcing his commands with an iron grip. His invocation of curses and maledictions is as cutting and cruel as such vile works require, even going so far as to inflict such scathing 'remarks' on himself, just to keep his sadism wound as tight as a coil. His handle of necromancy is well established, even those who's work necessitates the cold embrace of the grave and the rotten have consulted him on such matters in the past, and likely into the future. His blood rituals have pivoted from the San'layn and Mogu practices from which his tutelage have started all those years ago. When it comes to the manipulation of his own vital fluid, he can only count a handful of beings who outstrip him. But when push comes to shove, when his back is to the wall, when oblivion is on the line, Lord Felscythe burns. The intoxication of immolation is as euphoric as the highest high. He has heard the song that is the word of creation sung backwards. He has laid his hands on the fibers of space and time, and gorily pulled at its supple sinew like slow roasted pork and eaten it raw, squirming, and still screaming. He thinks velocity is savory. Everything, even concepts like hope have melting points.
______________________________________________________________ I do actually play destro! And have been a destro lock since vanilla (abit, not on Nix) The playstyle suits me, and the class has never stopped calling me. Thanks for the ask @damien-ward!

Before I start the next stage of base-building, I need to plan.
No base screenshots this time. Just diagrams and rambling and ratios. But this post forces me to get my thoughts in order and turns them into something I can consult later, and hopefully someone else will find these ideas useful.
Tumblr media
This chart, courtesy of Kirk McDonald's Factorio Calculator, shows most of the steps and ratios needed to get about a hundred SPM. That's what a single rocket silo with three productivity modules mark 3 can achieve, so it's a decent benchmark to aim for. (Mining, smelting, oil-cracking, and wire-assembling are over to the left of this part of the graph. But they're less important.
The lines are a mess, but the numbers are clear, especially if I switch back to the list. This requires something like 18 yellow belts of iron and copper, which is absurd. If I switch to red belts, we get a slightly less absurd nine belts of each (plus 3.6 of green circuits, 1.9 of plastic, and basically everything else <1).
Most of the copper and about a third of the iron are in green circuits. Nearly half of the iron goes into steel. Remove that, and I only need 1.2 belts of iron and 3.7 of copper, about half of which goes into low-density structure.
None of this accounts for non-science production, of course (e.g. automating those assembling machine 3's). But even so, that's a lot less resources than I was anticipating. I considered leaving a spot for trains to add more resources to the bus, but it looks like that's basically unnecessary—especially if I ship in green circuits and steel from elsewhere.
I'm still gonna do it, though.
Next, a diagram I made myself.
Tumblr media
At the top are things I intend to put on the main bus. Maybe not coal and batteries, and stone bricks are only required for three things (furnaces for purple science, walls for gray, and miscellaneous furnaces/oil refineries) so they'll fall off the bus quickly enough, but the important thing is that they're excluded from the rest of the diagram.
Automation, logistic, and military science are simple enough. Automation is just bus ingredients, while logistic and military science are basic things, half of which I want to mass-produce anyway. At this stage of the bus, I can also build some basic factory stuff, like mining drills and assemblers Mk 2 and more red belts.
This probably sounds weird, but I think it makes sense to put production science next. (Red chips need to go somewhere earlier, but that's fine.) Its three products are disconnected from things made elsewhere, and it lets me get stone bricks off the bus early. Actually, I might just set up that stone unloading station here, to feed rails to purple science and bricks to wall/electric furnace/miscellaneous factory stuff production.
And chemical science is directly linked to utility science, because both use engines. Ideally I'd like one line of engine assemblers that gets split 2:1 between blue science and electric engines, with a few engines of each type getting stashed for making flame turrets and rocket silos and stuff.
Anyways, the rest of chemical science is straightforward, and utility science isn't much harder. The tricky bit will be setting up a circuit system that lets me set how many logistics and construction bots I want in the robot network, which is something I'll definitely do just to the side of the bus.
And then space science. But that's quite a way off.
All that in mind, let's get some figures.
We'll need almost four red belts of green chips, most of which are going into red and blue chip production. This will take something like four belts of iron and six of copper. Yeah, I should just make green chips off-site.
Green chips aside, phase 1 science requires less than a belt of copper and iron, plus coal for the grenades and stone bricks for the walls.
Phase 2 science requires those bricks, a couple belts of iron, half a belt of copper, and plastic. Also advanced circuits.
Phase 3 science requires like half a belt of copper and iron, plus plastic and sulfur.
Phase 4 requires a full belt of iron, a belt and a half of copper, and a bunch of miscellaneous stuff like batteries and plastic and oil.
Phase 5 (Space) requires most of a belt of iron, almost two belts of copper, two belts of green chips, a belt of plastic, and a bunch of other random stuff.
To keep this nice and expandable, I'd say that four belts each of iron and copper with refill stops between phases should be good. Excessive for one rocket, but when I want to run five rocket silos for infinite research I'll thank me.
Likewise, three belts of green chips (which get replaced by red and blue down the bus) sounds good. A belt of steel, one of gears, one or two belts of plastic, maybe a battery belt.
While I'm here, I'll throw together some thoughts about where to produce various factory buildings.
Electric miners, pumpjacks, red belts, chemical plants, power poles, inserters, and assembler 2's can all go in phase 1.
Furnaces and oil refineries need to go with the other stone brick stuff, at the phase 1/2 boundary.
Substations, roboports, and logistics chests can go in phase 2, after the red chips.
Blue belts can go in phase 3, alongside electric engines. They both need lubricant. Getting the red belts to the blue belts to lubricate them is gonna be interesting. Is that a low-volume train job or a long-distance bot job? Or an awkward belt job? Or maybe Renai Transportation has some silly solution?
Not much new in phase 4.
Assembler 3's share speed modules 1 with RCUs, so it makes sense to build them together. Shipping assembler 2's from one end of the bus to the other is like the belt thing, but more.
Explosives need coal, which if it's not on the bus are only going to grenades. But they also need sulfur from blue science. Hm.
Nuclear reactor stuff and rocket silos are best handled in temporary production setups. Or maybe even handcrafted.
Oh yeah, labs need to go somewhere too.

Monthly Lore 38: Bravien Diplomatic Relations part 3
The last two relations that can be highlighted are the Blood Prophets of the Haven Mountains, and by extension the Shadow of the Sun priestesses, in the extreme south of the Known World, and the community of Willowtide, to the east of Bravo, nestled between the starts of the Red Waterfall Desert and the Bravien Mountains.
Willowtide, while a strange, isolated and recluse village, known for its uncommon religious practices, is also known for the high-quality of an assortment of locally-produced items, like ceramics, paper, wooden objects, hair ornaments, and dandelion wine. Despite their distrust of outsiders, they trade these objects for others they need and aren't able to produce with traveling merchants. Mainly because of Willowtide's small size, the production is small and can reach exorbitant prices in any other place.
Bravo is no exception in their search for such items. Some decades after being instated, the City Council secured a trade agreement, where Bravo has preference and a better access and price to these items, in exchange for a lower price for things like food, textiles, tools, and processed iron and steel.
For centuries, this steady exchange was all there was between both; however, in recent years, the previous Leader of the community reached out towards Bravo in search of more permanent diplomatic relations. Sadly, they died before anything definitive was decided, and talks with their child, the one who took over, have been
Slow at best, even if all the previously established agreements are still being respected.
As for the Haven Mountains Blood Prophet community, ever since their advice to the establishment of the City Council, there has been a constant, permanent relation, expressed in trade of goods and knowledge and the delivery of gifts through the priestesses, and, when needed, consultation with the Blood Prophets.
However, there are no permanent agreements, no embassies and no extensive diplomatic relations in between the community and any other nation: the Blood Prophets understand that embassies and specific agreements between specific people would interfere in their ability to help and advise whoever comes to them, specially if there is some type of conflict between two or more people.

What Can I Do To Protect Pipes From Corrosion On The Inside?
Internal pipe corrosion is a major issue for many oil and gas companies with a whopping estimated global cost of around $2.5 trillion. Pipelines carry natural resources such as oil, gas, chemicals, and petroleum to related companies and production plants from specified locations. Sadly, these intricate structures are highly prone to rust and corrosion over time.
Tumblr media
Luckily companies such as DISTEK specialize in resolving these issues through Corrosion resistance coating. We have nailed down some effective methods to keep your pipe in optimal condition and avoid future problems.
Preventive Measures For Pipe Corrosion
Corrosion is one of those problems that worsen over time if we don't fix it. If we ignore it it can pose serious problems for buildings and the environment. The good news is that there are different ways to prevent excessive corrosion in pipes. These methods help to avoid serious problems and keep them safe.
Keeping A Close Eye On Pipeline Health
The first step in preventing pipe corrosion is to conduct regular inspections. This allows you to identify any signs of corrosion at an early stage and take appropriate action. Inspect the visible sections of your pipes for any discoloration, flaking, or pitting. In addition to inspections, regular maintenance is crucial. Consider hiring a professional plumber to clean your pipes and remove any built-up deposits. This can help prolong the lifespan of your pipes and prevent corrosion.
Provide Protective Coating
Another effective way to protect your pipes from corrosion is by applying a protective Corrosion resistance coating. Thermo-diffusion coatings are often used to create a barrier between the metal pipe and the water flowing through it.
This coating can prevent contact between the metal and corrosive substances, thus reducing the risk of corrosion. Consult a professional plumber for the most suitable coating option and ensure it is applied correctly for maximum effectiveness.
Use Corrosion-Resistant Pipes
When replacing or installing new pipes, choose corrosion-resistant materials. Stainless steel, copper, and plastic pipes are ideal options since they are less prone to corrosion than typical iron or steel pipes. Keep in mind that using the proper pipe material can greatly reduce corrosion risk and extend the life of your plumbing system.
Protecting pipes from internal corrosion is essential for maintaining the integrity and functionality of your plumbing system. At DISTEK, we are dedicated to providing top-quality Corrosion resistance coating for steel products.
Our Corrosion resistance coating can help you safeguard your pipes and ensure their longevity. Don't let corrosion wreak havoc on your plumbing system, choose us for reliable and effective pipe protection.

What do you think of Diamant architect? his family has a construction company (you know bc steel/metals blabla) then Diamant, who always spends his time between iron, construction plans, buildings, until Alfred teaches him the colorful world of flowers and to touch grass
Pffff
Alfred: “Touch grass (affectionate)”
I do really like this idea! I was actually thinking that I wanted them to have jobs that would sort of intersect/interact with each other?
So imagine Architect!Diamant being hired to design some building and using Arborist!Alfred as a consultant for the types of trees to put in the courtyard, or Diamant and Alfred being hired jointly to work on a park or something like that!
And then maybe Diamant can be a volunteer fire fighter on the side because I have Needs
This also fits with my hc (which may be part of a fic I’m working on 👀) that Diamant is incredibly utilitarian in terms of his personal decorative style. Like very minimalist, only buys what is absolutely necessary (maybe spends too much time working to really care how his house looks since he’s mainly just there for eating and sleeping during the week). Like seriously, he owns ONE pot and pan, ONE plate and bowl, ONE set of flatware, ONE chair, etc. and his bedroom is probably just a mattress sitting on the floor with an old cardboard box as a night stand.
Alfred takes one look and is all distressed Alfred noises about it. The most Diamant has in terms of plant life is probably one tiny cactus that he still somehow managed to kill. It’s Tragicâ„ąïž
