#love letters to majors

Once again, some engineering undergraduates have overestimated their own prowess and summoned something when they should have been finishing their homework. The engineering TAs would like to take this moment to remind all the engineering majors that it is not a part of our jobs to track down whatever you summon and that you will fail any and all assignments that summon anything. As per university policy, we cannot grade summonings.

As a precaution, until further notice, the maker’s space is now closed to all students. Access will only be allowed under the direct supervision of a TA (good luck finding us) or a professor (assuming you can find one outside of office hours). All senior theses must be hypothetical - any practical theses proposals have been retroactively rescinded. Laboratory research is expected to continue as usual.

Safety is everyone’s responsibility when working with the unknown! Your TAs have prepared some helpful reminders to reduce the chances this happens again.

Complete the mandatory Elsewhere Lab Safety Training! If you do not complete this by the end of the quarter, things will befall you! Don’t test our patience!

Never work alone in the lab! Not only is this bad practice for most experiments, but two are better than one when it comes to stopping unusual lab problems.

Carry your iron rod, salt packet, and water bottle at all times. Replacement rods are available at the academic advising office, salt packets can be taken from the dining halls, and water bottles can be found at the athletics department.

All projects must be made out of iron. For iron alloys and composites, consult a TA, professor, or postdoc to see if the iron percentage is higher than the threshold.

Follow university policy regarding safety best practices in the classroom and around campus.

Bioengineers: only use samples acquired directly from other labs. Neither Elsewhere University nor the Engineering Department can guarantee that samples arrive uncontaminated (remember the Great Homunculi disaster?).

Electrical engineers: the efficacy of copper against the Fair Folk is still yet to be determined. Do not listen to the upperclassmen who tell you that copper works just as well as iron. This has been suspected to be a way of hazing new students and violated the university hazing policies.

Chemical engineers: use the fume hoods. Accidents happen much less often when working in a well-ventilated area.

Civil engineers: your steel pins may contain too little iron to be useful. Do not rely on them in a pinch. Yes, they look cool, but it’s better to be safe than sorry. Your faculty advisors will be conducting iron checks to ensure you have enough iron on you at all times.

Mechanical engineers: how many times do we have to remind you that just because something could work doesn’t mean it’s a good idea to build it? Remember the machine that nonstop summoned things for weeks? And how hard that was to stop? Please don’t build that again, or anything like it.

And, as always, report accidents to the relevant safety authorities. The sooner the damage is evaluated, the sooner it can be contained and fixed.

Please understand that your midterm grades will be coming out late, as we are working hard to understand what was summoned and how: if anyone has information about it, please direct it to the Dean’s office.

Ahem... Now that's Valentine's Day pray for Reader because their schedule for the day is packed.

The whole club organized soooo many activities or gift for them (and they fought at least 30 minutes for people's order)

Breakfast prepared lovingly by our Cinnabae (Imagine a heart shaped pancakes something or like that)

Cuddles or a romantic dance with Hamel either in our dorm or hers

Afternoon with Bai Yi and karaoke (only for you two so she can show off her skills failing)

Lunch with Eirene and Dinner with Chelsea that rent a WHOLE restaurant for us (bonus point if they put some piano music on the background)

Spending the night with Stargazer looking and admiring her the starry sky

HELP. POOR READER’S SCHEDULE IS SO JAM PACKED 😨

As an introvert, this is super intimidating but ykw, ILL DO IT FOR THE PTN WOMEN. I’m gushing over Cinnabar making Reader heart shaped pancakes tbh 🥺 I think she’d even drizzle some of the syrup/honey across the stack like a love arrow through the heart…

Also Eirene and Chelsea renting out a whole restaurant just for them and Reader is so extra, but they’d definitely do it. Same with Cabernet and the other rich women, though I can see Cabernet just skipping past dinner and devouring Reader instead for Valentine’s Day.

Besides that however, KARAOKE WITH BAI YI. Imagine her drunkenly singing you love songs while looking at you with that dumb, yet smitten look in her eyes. All the PTN women are just so…in love with you. You truly make them happy and they want to spend as much time with you as they can. (Before the other women get to you first)

This was so much fun, but it also reminded me just how much more I need to write lol. But needless to say I am more inspired than I've been in ages!

once again rambling about five and lila because i’m fucking pissed. enjoy

“five and lila were perfect for each other because they had so much in common” yet so many perfect couples have absolutely nothing in common???

they could relate to each other in ways that made them hate each other and that’s why they were SUCH good foil characters, i don’t understand why the romance had to be necessary.

there is absolutely no reason that this romance plotline should’ve been created. it was so ridiculously off-focus from what the plot was (AND should have been) and it literally only made the season so much worse.

do writers understand that not every single character has to fall in love with one another? i mean genuinely?

personally i don’t believe five is aro (though he could be ace) because i can’t help but love five’s love for delores (even if she wasn’t real) but i completely understand five aroace truthers because he truly can be independent romantically as we saw in the show.

i cannot wrap my fucking head around the fact that the writers saw two awesome, dynamic, badass characters with arcs and goals outside of love and attention and decided to turn their personalities inside out and upside down for a dumbass dead-end romance that makes zero sense.

five and lila were the only two people on god’s green earth who could understand each other and hated the other for it. why couldn’t they just be frenemies and call it a day?

Thank you for answering my previous question about Chuuya in the civdazai!au but I kinda have another question if you’re willing to answer (it’s about Dazai this time around hehe)

In the og universe, Dazai tries to unalive himself at 14 right? And if I remember well he is saved or at least brought to a hospital by someone / a group of unamed people where he met Mori, right?

In the civdazai!au, since he’s clearly very much depressed and suicidal (as shown in chapter 2), what happened when he was 14? Did he still attempt and was saved but didn’t meet Mori ? Or did they meet but something happened differently that made him not get recruited into the Mafia?

OMG ... okay i'm not going to get deep into this because it does get into the plot, but i'll tell you guys a bit about dazai's backstory in civzai.

when he was 7/8, his mom ended up killing herself & he lived with his aunt for a few years. eventually, for undisclosed reasons, his aunt ended up leaving him in suribachi city when he was 13/14- he lived there for like 3-4 months before oda found him. dazai did still attempt, but oda stopped him before he could and he ended up taking dazai in -- dazai lived with him for 4 years before oda ended up dying

Hey, Nico. If you’re reading this, something probably happened to me. Maybe I hit my head again and lost my memories, or something, and you went through my stuff to try and find things to remind me of who I was. Maybe this fell out while we were hanging out, one day, and you saw it was addressed to you and you picked it up. Maybe I died—

However you found this, I guess, surprise! :) 

First thing’s first: I’m sorry for leaving. I know I begged you to stay, and then turned around and left, and I really hope you understand - I didn’t leave because of you. I needed to find Leo, and leaving with Piper was the easiest way to do that. I had to try and get him back. 

I wanted you to come with, but you were still healing and things were going really well with you and Will. I hope things still are, in fact. Wherever I am, I’m so proud of you for how far you’ve come, and how much I’m sure you continued to grow even after I left. 

I really love you, man. I never got to tell you that, but you’re one of my best, closest friends. You mean so much to me. You showed me a side of the world that I never would’ve seen otherwise, and gave me a space to be myself, and I will never, ever know how I deserved that. How I deserve you.

I know this has probably been said before in many other ways (it is a decade old fandom at this point) but of course I must add my two cents as always and I'm probably reading too much into this but who cares Major Sholto was or is, in some way or form, in love with John. Sherlock picks up on this (and is openly jealous that there is ANOTHER) He sees himself in Sholto in the same way they care for John. Going out of their way to do things for him, showing up when no one expects them to, as awkward as ever. And Sholto sees it too!!

AND SHERLOCK KNOWS HE BLOODY KNOWS THEY'RE BOTH DOWN BAD THAT'S WHY HE KEEPS BRINGING HIM UP (Mary knows too, when she tells sherlock that neither of them were the first)
