Embracing Sacrifice: A Journey of Growth and Determination
What sacrifices have you made in life?
Growing up, life was a series of sacrifices. From saving for a house to forgoing non-essential desires to secure the car or the vacation we dreamed of, sacrifice was a constant companion. It wasn’t just about denying ourselves; it was about strategically setting aside immediate pleasures for long-term gains. Each sacrifice was a step towards a better…

two months into their relationship tommy is looking for bandaids, hand cream, a new toothbrush, whatever in buck's bathroom and notices one of the drawers doesn't work right when he can't get it closed. he sticks his hand in the back to see what's stuck there and what comes out when he pulls out is a little velvet box. it's a ring box, tommy realizes, sneakily hidden there away from unwanted eyes and now in his hand as he stands there and looks down at it all dumbfounded.
buck enters the bathroom right at that moment and comes to a halt at the door. his eyes widen and start going back and forth between the box and tommy's face in an almost comical manner, but all the color is drained from his face so tommy can't help jumping to conclusions.
first he think there's someone else in buck's life, someone serious, and tommy's just been a fun pastime for the last few weeks but he immediately eliminates that thought because of how stupid and unlikely it sounds. so what comes out instead is "was there someone? before me? who said no?" he cringes. "taylor?" and damn saying that hurts because he didn't realize he was a rebound. he doesn't want to be a rebound.
meanwhile buck is standing there with his mind whirring in laps to find an answer that assures his boyfriend that no, you're not a rebound, of course not, but also hopefully doesn't make buck look like a crazy-person, because, yeah, he bought an engagement ring for his boyfriend of two months. the deodorant stick he's currently using is older than that.

upon my rewatch of season 6 of BTVS I gotta be real here. say what you will abt Mayor Wilkins but he would NEVER have left his murder daughter to struggle alone with debts and a sister. he’d be like “sweetie you own real estate that people live in, why are you working a minimum wage job?.. come now I am going to teach you the most useful evil skill you’ll ever learn, it’s called Being a Landlord” and then pay all her bills and make her drink her milk bc calcium is important

as much as he gets mischaracterized as a meathead, a la captain kirk, i like how superman is pretty sharp and has to actually think his way out of the problem of the week in stas. but also during his typical day-to-day he doesn't HAVE to be that much of a genius, so he still regularly gets outsmarted bc he doesn't usually need to plan or strategize and therefore isn't exactly in the habit of it.
even with most of the big threats, he can generally get 90% through a problem by hitting it hard enough... but the trend seems to be that he finds out the precise boundary of that 90% by flying directly into it. he's got the capacity for brilliance but he just needs a little "percussive maintenance" to get the gears turning

man I wish evolution wasn’t such a slow process over millions of years… like I wish that every 10 years or so every single species on planet earth would just get a huge patch notes update and scientists would publish about it so we could all get caught up on the new stuff. I wanna see the monkeys discover farming in my lifetime.

We'd both been so excited for it-- to change, to grow stronger, to pass another life-changing milestone on our adventure together. But after I evolved, it took weeks before Sora could even bring herself to look me in the eyes. It went unsaid between us, poisoning our hearts like a cold, bitter curse and haunting every intake of breath. Although, the worst of it all... was that even without words, we both knew why it hurt so much.
Like some sick joke, I had become the spitting image of him.
Ya'll know that feeling when you [Hero] try to evolve into a Leafeon to be closer in spirit to the best friend you lost [Grovyle] because you miss him so much it physically aches, but instead you end up looking like the guy you trusted/adored that betrayed/tried to kill you and your girlfriend? Cause damn it hurts.
Anyways ever since I replayed EOS and evolved at Luminous Spring I've had thoughts about what Sora's reaction would be to Echo's evolution into Umbreon. And lemme tell you that it's an emotional roller coaster. To say that Sora has complicated feelings about Dusknoir is an understatement, and Echo isn't so happy about it either since she had put her faith in him. They've got a lot of trauma to heal.
But to add to that, I like to write about my girls in my spare time when I'm not drawing cause it's fun, so maybe I'll post some little blurbs sometime if anyone is interested?? Hm. Yeah might do that eventually, we'll have to see.

Lucius: bruce, please. we’re trying to push the idea that WE is modern and besides that we want our centers to feel inviting and warm. You can’t keep adding gargoyles to the roofs.
