The trio had been with the Kent family for about six months before they were deemed 'ready for socialization'. They had spent that time getting fake ids, studying up on common knowledge of the universe and learning what was and wasn't normal for the baseline population of this world. That last part had less to do with being from a different universe and more to do with being from Amity Park but the trio had no way of knowing that.

Ma and Pa had thought the trio were hilarious whenever they found themselves constantly on the defense against otherwise mundane items. Though it did seem to get old after the tenth time Danny opened fire when a stack of crates fell behind him.

(Clark had likened it to taming feral animals but Clark is also an asshole who's opinion is taken with a handful of salt as far as the trio were concerned.)

Hello, everyone! My name is Chandani, but you can call me Dani. I run a blog @bakuliwrites which is a multi-fandom headcanon/fan fic blog (with a main focus on The Arcana, BG3, and JJK). If you've been following me for a while and are a fan of The Arcana, then you may know that I've been working on a multi-part fanfiction called End Up Here, which tells the tale of a Julian x Lucio x Apprentice path from Pre-Plague to Post-Game. I'm currently on part two of this four part series. This fanfic is rated MATURE and deals with a lot of heavy, emotional content along with general adult content. MINORS DNI. I will mark chapters with any explicit content accordingly.

I've taken a long break from this fanfiction to get my bearings and work on a couple other projects. But I'm gearing up to begin working on it again and decided, to keep things a little more organized, I would devote a separate blog to this fic. This is my passion project and my love letter to The Arcana. I have loved every moment of working on this and can't wait to continue.

Hii! What do you think of Aegon III and Viserys II? Sometimes I feel that they are not highly valued in team black, and I don't really understand why, it is very difficult to find content about them that doesn't end up revolving around their half-brothers and sisters 🥲 Do you think Jacaerys would have been a better king than them? I honestly have my doubts, since with the situation that Aegon and Viserys found themselves in, it was difficult to do better and also their right to the throne could not be discussed. I think that sometimes there is very little empathy with what they had to live through.

i have conflicted feelings about it tbh.

On the one hand, I completely get what you mean, Aegon iii & Viserys ii are currently invisible when people discuss tb family so the sense of them being undervalued lingers. It also doesn't help that they're both seen as 'threats' even when people discuss about AUs scenarios (like what if jacaerys had survived, or what if Luke or joff were the sole survivors of the Velaryon trio etc) Viserys is sent off somewhere to marry or dies and Aegon conveniently always joins the kingsguard 💀

And don't get me wrong, I personally don't think the tb kids would ever turn against one another because they grew up in a loving environment and we see the loyalty they have to one another in f&b. They wouldn't try to usurper each other - they're not the greens.

The fandom seem to think otherwise however and that's because there's the question; Had Jacaerys survived would he be accepted as a king? Would Daemon have preferred a truborn son (Aegon) carrying his blood to the throne rather than a firstborn daughter (Baela) who would be only queen consort? Would he be satisfied with Jace as a King and husband to Baela? Did he love the Velaryon boys enough to never plot against them?

It all depends how each person views these characters. I've seen people giving variety of answers.

To your question, I think Jacaerys does have the potential to be a good king. He managed to gain allies (though I firmly believe if grrm didn't have a vendetta against targ women rhaenyra could have done this as well), the negotiation skills are there, he inspired loyalty, I suppose the plan with dragonseeds brings up the argument whether he's a good strategic or not or if he's too dominated by his own emotion to think wisely. To be fair though, he was a young man and this was his first and only war. So we can't judge him too harshly given the circumstances.

Now, could he have been better king than Aegon iii and Viserys ii? Maybe? Maybe not? Both the Targaryen princes were shaped by their circumstances. Could Jacaerys have survived what Aegon iii /Viserys ii went through?

I don't think we know enough about Jace to answer these questions. We know he loved his brothers, he was fiercely loyal to his mother and was eager to win this war. He was also a young boy with no battle experience, too eager and that led him to make mistakes. So how would he have coped if he had been in Aegon's position? (witness of his mother's murder and surrounded by traitors)

Aegon and Viserys obviously had some of the best traits of their parents we see glimpses of them as they grew but do you ever wondering who they would have become had they not been traumatized? I always wonder, especially for Aegon who was so haunted and depressed. What would he have become had the war never happened or had his mother survived at least?

It's up to us to wonder and imagine.

To bring it back to the "targ princes being undervalued", while it's true and it's frustrating for now, we gotta remember than the series didn't really show them properly other than when they were introduced to a dying viserys and that was over too quickly.

it also doesn't help that everybody's ages in the show are fucked up. There's no proper list of ages in hotd; cast members have said one thing, showrunners have said another, it's like time doesn't really exist in the show. Ryan has mentioned the ages are between 17-21 for the "kids" and that it.

In the book by the time the dance was about to start:

Daemon was 48

Rhaenyra was 32

Jacaerys was 15

Lucerys was 13

Baela & Rhaena were 13

Joffrey was 12

Aegon III was 9 

and Viserys II was 7

oh and Aegon ii was 22, Helaena 20, Aemond 19 and Daeron 15

In the show Jace is 16, Luke is 14,Joff is 7, Aegon iii is 3 or 4 and Viserys ii is 2. Baela and Rhaena aren't twins and Aegon ii is 20 with Aemond being 17 and Helaena 18

^ Those ages are debated among watchers and there are still plot holes with the timeskip. Point is, changing the ages of the Velaryon Princes, the Targaryen Princes and the Greens alters the dynamic between the characters and fans create different ideas.

Like, I can't blame a show watcher for not thinking about Aegon III and Viserys ii when they were merely toddlers with 1 scene.

On the other, I do sympathize with your frustration 'cause some book fans seem to have forgotten them too. When/if they eventually join the story properly maybe the tune will change.

oh, and because I forgot, about viserys ii and Aegon iii getting little empathy with what they had to live through, I'd say this is more of tg issue. Because while yes, I do see tb arguing the Velaryon boys suffered "the most" they at least don't ignore the fact that Aegon and Viserys did go through something awful. Meanwhile with tg the story is completely rewritten; Aegon iii is always made out to be a jerk because of jaehaera - he's "cruel" and an "asshole" for not bending over for the girl whose father murdered his mother right in front of him. And there are always the jokes about Viserys ii being a "baby daddy at the age of 11!😜" Nevermind the implications of what this actually means for him.

I don't see team black ever making these type of crude jokes for Aegon & Viserys

When you look at some of his other lines it kind of makes sense.

He said that when until he was 3 he went around the world with his mother to visit the greatest sights--because starting from when he was four years old he'd be too busy studying to do so.

Four years old.

Since he was four years old his whole life was determined by his studies towards one specific thing, one goal he had in mind.

He probably doesn't really know how to be normal about things of interest to him, including people. His main interest, law, has been his entire life since he was four years old.

Imagine the only way you've ever experienced dedication or interest in something is obsessively, wholeheartedly, analytically. You have to know everything about that thing of interest, top to bottom, to the letter. And you have to be the best and most knowledgeable.

Now imagine developing an attachment to someone--platonic, romantic, whatever.

And the only way you've ever known to show your passion and dedication is obsession. Thorough understanding. Observation, analysis, until you get it right.

With law one little thing, one little loophole, could make or break a case.

With people one little detail, one little action, a mistake or misunderstanding, anything, could make or break a relationship.

So if Ritsu were to develop feelings for someone, surely he'd treat them no different from his studies of law and his cases. He already develops behavioral models based on people around him because he finds they'll be useful in the future--someone he developed feelings for would only get a more and more thorough one. Because unlike a case there's not really a set end to when a person of interest will matter. . .so why not throw everything you've got into them?

And if you deviate from the behavioral model that should have been perfect? That just warrants further study, further analysis. That's just an excuse to get closer and learn more.

Like it'd be totally accidental, may not even be romantic or sexual at all, but that he'd accidentally end up behaving in a yandere way makes total sense lmao definitely not what you'd expect of his character before you meet him in-game tho.

(However his affinity lines are still quite professional. Even his max affinity line is "It seems we make better business partners than I would have expected. I look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with you." But that's because he shows his affections in other little ways, like worrying over you sighing or giving you coffee, not charging you when you have lunch together. . .it's not much but for someone whose whole life since he was 4 had been business it's just how he does it.)

So I don't wanna get in trouble for datamining but also I'm terrible for keeping things to myself so I'm gonna end up sharing some things anyway. For example, one that I remembered today that made me laugh.

Ritsu's 19 Affinity home screen dialogue:

And yeah we know he records everything and reviews it all at the end of the day(where does he find the time) but like

He is counting how many times you sigh in a day and checking on you if he deems it too many. That's kind of adorable and sweet in a borderline obsessive way. Like, he's giving accidental yandere behavior.

He probably doesn't know how to express himself in a non-professional way or dedicate himself to something or someone in a way that isn't a little obsessive since he's been studying to be a lawyer since he was young. Very little frame of reference for normal social behavior, the poor thing lol

Okay, okay. Here's a proper introduction to one of the Chaggie kids I wanted to make; Dani! She's very insecure about how "undemon-like" she is, and things take a turn for the worse when she wakes up one day to find that she somehow has a halo. The demons of Hell already don't respect her for being more angel than demon, so she tries to hide this new development.

2 things I kept in mind when designing her were:

Charlie's soft-heartedness + Vaggie's stoicism = a meek little sheep

that kind of butch lesbian that gets hit on by gay men because she looks like a twink at first glance

"I know it's a lot to ask," cut in Danny before Batman could go from confused to angry, "Just let me explain. I swear it's for a good reason."

Batman eyed his teammate skeptically. King Phantom was one of the League's newest and youngest members. Despite his unorthodox introduction to the team, he and his sister, Stray, had proven to be valuable additions to the Justice League and to the Teen Titans respectively. He was tall and imposing, despite his relatively slender frame. His visage was made the more menacing by the Crown of Fire that hovered above his head in a tiny version of the Aurora Borealis instead of his predecessor's green flames, the royal armor over his jumpsuit, and the fur-trimmed coat made of a rippling window into space.

"Ok, so you know how Bruce Wayne adopted Cassandra Cain, but she's David Cain's biological daughter, right?"

"..."

"...right! So, at some point, David sold human eggs on the black market," he continued, "you have no idea how hard it was to get the information on Vlad's supplier, but we did figure out that he bought the eggs from Cain for his experiments and then completely messed up the cloning process."

"How?"

"We have no idea! But my clone, my sister, has my ghost DNA, but part of mine and someone else's human DNA."

"What makes you think it's Cassandra's?"

He pulled out his phone, a two-year-old model with a cracked screen, and showed him the face of his sixteen-year-old sister in her human form next to a picture of Bruce's own eighteen-year-old daughter from a tabloid.

"She looks a lot like me," he admitted, "but she also looks a lot like Cassandra Cain, so we think Vlad got a sample mixed up or forgot to take out a nucleus or something and made-."

"A daughter instead of a clone."

It was a good thing Phantom wasn't particularly good at reading body language, or his tightening fist might've alerted him that something was wrong.

"I mean... sort of? It's different with clones. She's technically my daughter but I turned nineteen, like, a month ago, so I don't thi- I'm getting off track! The point is, Dani's destabilizing again and I need a clean DNA sample to help her. I tried to get into Wayne manor, but the place is warded to hell and back. You know Bruce Wayne, right? Can you help me talk with Cassandra?"

Batman sighed and turned his head to Phantom's right.

"Orphan."

"Motherfu-! How long has she been standing there!?"

She didn't respond to his yelp/question and instead turned to Batman.

"Take a tube to Gotham and ask Cassandra Wayne for a DNA sample."

Orphan nodded and walked off to the tubes.

"... Is it just me or was she a little quieter than usual?"

Bruce sighed, not looking forward to whatever his week was about to become.

We Were Everywhere Before Anyone Was Anywhere!

The Dani are an ethnic group mainly inhabiting the Baliem valley in the central highlands of West Papua (the Indonesian province of New Guinea). Found only in 1938 by the American aviator and explorer Richard Archbold, they remained until then technically still in the stone age. This discovery is still one of the last contact in the history of the planet between the Western civilization and another unknown and independently evolved. Their horticulture advanced technique suggests a long stay in the valley while other hypothesis suggest that the transition from hunting and gathering to the cultivation age have taken place in the last two centuries. The basis of their diet is made up of sweet potato. Pig breeding is very widespread but its meat is consumed infrequently and mainly during very important ceremonies. Hunting is little practiced. Dani men wear a penis sheath called "Koteka" obtained by emptying and drying a pumpkin. During the ceremonies or in war it is customary to adorn the body with colorful feathers, fur hats and bracelets. The women wear short skirts made of vegetable fiber and they often use one or more nets spread around the head and ornaments hanging to the neck as a protection from the spirits. There are only few working tools used by Dani and all of them are built using stone, bone and bamboo. The introduction of the metal, due to the influence of the West, took place only a few decades ago. The weapons used by Dani are spears, bows and arrows. Dani family is usually made up of a man with one or two wives and children. Polygamy is permitted but in general it is also limited due to the high cost of weddings. Particular importance is attributed to the spirits of the dead, able according to their beliefs to attack the living individuals. To date, they surveyed just over 300 Dani tribe, including some made by now by a few individuals.

1) Jove Bryce Wayne (11) - Steph and Cass’ adopted son. He trains under Cass and Bruce, and is widely admired by the other kids for creating his own fighting style with the dancing skills he gets from practicing with his mom (to his delight). Fun fact, he is albino!

2) Marillyn “Mari” Maddy Grayson-Nightingale (10) - Dick and Dan’s daughter. She was an accidental pregnancy, but both of her dads love her very much. Fun fact, she gained her baba’s personality and is rather rebellious and mischievous, which causes Dick to feel sympathetic for Bruce.

3) Elinor “Ellie” Catherine Nightingale (9) - Jason and Jazz’s eldest daughter. She, along with Mari, train under Dick, Jason, and Jazz in order to protect themselves. Fun fact, she looks and acts just like Jason when he was young.

4) Thomas “Tommy” Bruce Drake (5) - Tim, Dani, and Kon’s oldest son. He is an evil genius who uses his cuteness to take over the world. Fun fact, the entire PhantomBat family have given up on convincing him not to, so now they’re just trying to instill morals into him and stall for time (they still love him tho).

5) Marianne “Ann” Talia Nightingale (5) - Jason and Jazz’s youngest daughter. She is Alfie’s twin and is the fun and sunshine to Ellie’s seriousness and Alfie’s gloominess. Fun fact, she got her blonde hair from Sheila Haywood, but she doesn’t know that.

6) Alfonso “Alfie” B Nightingale (5) - Jason and Jazz’s youngest son. He is Ann’s twin and is rather gloomy and antisocial compared to his sisters. Fun fact, he supposedly looks like Bruce when he was young, so he gets away with a lot when dealing with Alfred.

7) Rain Axel Nightingale (4) - Danny and Valerie’s son. He is Misty’s twin and can be rather mischievous, often causing trouble and chaos for the fun of it. Fun fact, he often teams up with Mari to prank everyone in the most ridiculous ways possible.

8) Misty Lilith Nightingale (4) - Danny and Valerie’s daughter. She is Rain’s twin, and is even more shy than Alfie and can start crying when stressed. Fun fact, although she can be anxious easily, her temper is even worse than her mom’s.

9) Ken-el / Kenneth “Kenny” Clark Drake (1) - Tim, Dani, and Kon’s youngest son. Since he is the youngest, he is doted on the most. Fun fact, he has already unlocked most of his halfa abilities due to his Kryptonian heritage.

Notes:

+ Jove’s name relates back to Cassandra’s because they are both names of mythological characters. Jove is another name for Jupiter (AKA Zeus).

+ Both of Mari’s names are actually a weird, mashed up version of Madeline and Mary (and also inspired by Mar’i cough).

+ Jason and Jazz’s daughters are named after Elinor and Marianne from Sense and Sensibilities and their middle names are from Jason’s mother figures in life. I imagine that Jazz had a falling out with Jack and Maddie, so she didn’t really care.

+ Alfie’s name is inspired from Alfred and his middle name is only “B” because Tommy was born first and Tim took the “Bruce” middle name.

+ Alfie and Ann, and Misty and Rain are inspired by Misty and Jackson, the canon kid characters of Sam and Danny. Both pairs of twins have an 8 month difference of age.

+ Why so many twins?? I used the twin idea first for Jazz and Jason, but when I thought of Danny and Valerie, I kept switching between ideas, so I eventually settled on twins for them too. Trust, it was a weird coincidence for Danny and Jazz too when they had twins at nearly the same time.

+ Misty and Rain’s middle names come from Tucker and Sam (Axel Foley and the episode “Life Lessons”). Their first names are inspired by Misty Fenton and I just found another name for Rain to match the theme.

+ Tommy and Kenny technically have different dads, (Tommy is Tim and Dani’s, and Kenny is Kon and Dani’s), but it doesn’t really mean anything, since they don’t pay attention to it.

+ The idea of Tommy, who is like Tim’s clone and absolutely evil, was so funny to me. He’s prob my fav child OC. His entire family know about his manipulative tendencies but he loves them so they let it go. (Damian and Dan have already pledged their allegiance to their future overlord.)

+ The short period of time where Jazz, Dani, and Valerie were pregnant at the same time was hell on earth for everyone.

+ Technically, Bruce only has 7 grandchildren (he cries when he thinks about it a little too hard), but bc they’re so close to Rain and Misty, Bruce thinks of them as his grandchildren too, so he always says he has 9. Danny and Val are like ??? But Rain and Misty totally believe that he’s their grandpa (which he is delighted about).

+ Damian is married to Jon and they have no kids, unless you count the farm they inherited and all of the animals that Damian adopted as his fur babies. However, Damian was young when the kids kept coming, so he became the designated babysitter and then the favorite uncle, which all of the other Batboys despise and are jealous of.

+ Marillyn's age, as well as Misty and Rain's existences, might still be changed by me, just bc at times, it doesn't suit my headcanons or just doesn't make sense in the timeline. So those are susceptible to change.

I hate those Daenerys is going to sacrifice herself/die theories so much it genuinely makes me tweak and I have never been the type of person to get upset at all over fiction or any type of media, but this irks me so bad because not only is Daenerys my absolute favorite character of all time, it’s upsetting how the female character is always the one who has to die for others sakes and never achieve anything for herself. Yes, it’s her destiny as AA to fight the Others, but that doesn’t mean that she has to die doing it. Like, seriously, after we got F&B and saw how many Targaryen women struggled with misogyny and being passed over for the throne, it feels upsetting to me if the one who is supposed to break the wheel will never have a chance to do so. I do love Bran but I do not see him fit to sit on the throne, not to mention how young he is and will be at the series end unless George does a massive timeskip, and after the whole world is in shambles after the Long Night, who is more fitting to sit on the throne and help mend things and lead the people forward? A well experienced ruler and fighter who will bring along a new age of change, or a child with no such experience? Perhaps it’s just me being salty but I just really want the best for my favorite character who I believe deserves to have her shot at having a home and being able to rule and change the world together with the other characters. Especially after the end of GoT, which no I don’t ever believe that George will go that route, but with how everything happened in the show, it looked like Westeros was a completely and utter mess and there was nobody capable left to pick up the pieces, Bran’s ascension to the throne was so random too and didn’t even feel satisfying or like a good conclusion (not that those two incapable idiots could ever produce a satisfying ending, but yeah). What are your thoughts on this? I just feel sad that fellow Dany fans are literally enthusiastically waiting for her death in the upcoming books as if there isn’t a better destiny for her :( The female character who managed to rise to power and become a ruler in her own right dying or giving that up to the men in order to “settle down” leaves such a bad taste in my mouth and doesn’t look like the subversion George has done with her character at all.

I definitely agree with you anon, Dany dying/sacrificing herself really doesn't seem to fit with her story. Yes, Dany certainly would be willing to die to save the world, but that doesn't seem to be where GRRM is writing her.

Dany's story is saturated with life; which is pretty ironic since she's been called "Daughter of Death". She's closely tied to themes of fertility (mother of dragons, helloo), rebirth (Azor Ahai, entering the pyre), and survival/endurance.

Dany's story shares very little similarities to characters who have been set up for death. For example, Robb. Dany may share some superficial similarities to Robb, but the signs of Robb's impending death are not shared at all. GRRM always sets up the deaths of his major characters from their introductions. That hasn't happened with Dany; if anything we see a set up to her surviving.

You're so right about how people are foaming at the mouth for Dany's death. Her dying after everything she's been through and everything she stands for is just...no. It feels so gross and has some really concerning undertones.

The woman who actually fought for change and made a massive upheaval in the status quo, who genuinely cares for all her people, who understands the responsibility of ruling, who demonstrates incredible wisdom, who only wants to make the world better dying for the sake of the story is just wow.
