mikhail nasceu em 1898, em um palacete antigo e gigante no centro de moscou. filho mais velho de aristocratas russos, misha nasceu em um dos melhores berços para um russo naquela época, banhado de riquezas desde o instante em que abriu seus olhos.

com dezesseis anos, mikhail já era independente. ele já trabalhava como poeta na capital do país e já era considerado um filho rebelde por seu ramo de trabalho. mal sabiam seus pais, que o fato do filho ser um amante da literatura era o menor de seus problemas. mikhail começou a se envolver com política, sendo levado a encontros do partido bolchevique escondido. mikhail usava boinas, perucas, bigodes falsos e lenço no rosto para não ser identificado. mesmo assim, logo ele começou a jurar lealdade a causa, movido por um amor não correspondido e por sua humanidade, e se tornou uma figura importante para negociações.

com dezenove anos, mikhail traiu sua família inteira, incluindo seus pais e seu irmão mais novo. a revolução aconteceu e sua família foi presa e enviada para um campo de reeducação perto da capital, onde misha poderia os visitar, mas ele não iria. seu papel tinha sido feito e ele iria se manter longe de intrigas políticas. a incerteza de um governo novo trazia o pior das pessoas e ele nunca quis disputar nada com ninguém. em uma visita sua a são petersburgo, que ainda mantinha o nome petrogrado, a carruagem de mikhail foi vítima de uma emboscada, feita por um novo sargento que compartilhava a viagem com ele. mikhail e seus companheiros foram assassinados, assim como o seu cocheiro. para o desprazer daquele sargento, mikhail conseguiu sobreviver, arrastando seu corpo pela grossa camada de neve da floresta, o corte na sua barriga queimando com o frio. ele lembra de dormir e acordar múltiplas vezes e em uma dessas vezes, ver um homem de aparência cazaque pairando sobre seu rosto. pele pálida e dentes afiados. sua transformação foi confusa e a conexão com seu criador também. quando ele acordou, estava faminto e o homem tinha o levado mais para dentro da floresta. ele lembra de tentar conversar com ele, mas seus idiomas não eram compatíveis. mikhail sentiu um peso na consciência, considerando a nacionalidade de seu criador, mas não havia muito o que podia fazer.

ele voltou para moscou semanas depois, denunciando o ataque que sofrera e gabando-se do milagre que o havia salvado. mikhail mudou de ponto de vista nessas semanas que havia passado contemplando a morte e a desejando profundamente. se deus o havia mantido vivo, existia uma razão para aquilo. ele rapidamente subiu nos rankings do exército vermelho e ajudou a terminar com a guerra civil do país, ficando conhecido por ser extremamente letal e recebendo o apelido de "вампир", ou o vampiro. depois da guerra civil, mikhail foi condecorado como general e participou de múltiplos conflitos entre a união soviética e países asiáticos, como japão e mongólia.

conforme a segunda guerra foi chegando, as pessoas começaram a perceber que o general vampiro não envelhecia e que talvez esse apelido tivesse um fundo de verdade. com auxílio de aliados próximos, a verdadeira natureza de mikhail foi exposta para as autoridades do país e depois de um primeiro susto ele começou a ser visto como uma arma.

mikhail foi para os estados unidos em 1964, durante a guerra fria e intensificação da guerra do vietnã, para atuar como espião no sul da california. seu novo nome era michael anderson e ele permaneceu lá, fornecendo informações para o seu país por seis anos. em 1980, mikhail fez sua última viagem. enviado para a alemanha, com objetivo de ajudar a mediar conflitos entre a alemanha ocidental e oriental, misha fez o que viria a ser sua última viagem.

preso no tempo, é a melhor maneira de descrever mikhail. ele ainda vive da mesma maneira como vivia em 1980. a mesma maneira de se vestir, mesma maneira de falar, mesmos costumes e opiniões. ainda odeia americanos. ainda gosta de tomar café sem açucar. gosta de ler o jornal todas as manhãs. mantém uma biblioteca gigante dentro do seu apartamento. pendura tapetes em todas as paredes.

ainda na união soviética, antes de trabalhar como espião, mikhail se formou em literatura e sociologia pela universidade de moscou e conseguiu seu mestrado em maxim gorki. atualmente ele leciona na universidade arcanum e é professor das matérias de teoria da poesia, sociologia da cultura e análise crítica de texto.

mikhail é uma pessoa consideravelmente arrogante, mas sua arrogância vem regada por sua amargura de estar na situação que está. ele considera que deixou seu país, sua pátria, para trás. deixou para trás as pessoas que confiavam nele e as pessoas que ele amava. ele costumava a amar a ideia de ser imortal, mas não consegue entender e apreciar o que a raça humana se tornou.

é bissexual desde sempre, mesmo não usando rótulos, pois na época que ele nasceu não existiam. ele não se importa até hoje com essa questão.

nasceu em uma família cristã ortodoxa, mas renegou a religião aos dezenove.

é um bom professor e muitas vezes apreciado pelos alunos, mesmo sem entender direito o porquê. na verdade, ele gosta muito de ajudar eles, pois literatura e sociologia são suas únicas paixões vivas e ele aprecia quando os outros se dedicam para amá-las também. caso ele veja que um aluno não tem muito interesse, ele vira um carrasco.

How would I go about learning about computer programming? Any advice for absolute beginners?

hm… well, i guess there's two primary ways you can start.

firstly, you could take a course. there are some online that are free to start with, like harvard's cs50, but i personally think the second option is a bit more fun and hands on.

the second option is to take some time to look up coding basics and experiment a bit through a small personal project. you can learn about the basic structure of computer programs and how programming languages work by watching youtube videos, or browsing stack overflow... and from there you can start small by making little programs that can do simple things. after that, it'll be a good foundation into coding more complex things.
