Also, im not a woman but i do have periods so i hope this isnt me taking up space in this discourse, but some people Straight Up Can Not Insert Anything Up Their Vagina. The only thing i managed to get in there once was the smallest, thinnest tampon i could find and even that was a painful and deeply uncomfortable experience, even tho i was 25 and i believe fully developed down there. We also dont have the biodegradable pads in my country, so some people just Have To Make Do. Sorry about the rant, but i am equally frustrated when people are like “stop ruining the planet with your periods! Buy this product that im sponsored by instead!” I realy hate it, no one should be shamed for how they deal with a monthly biological occurence that they did not ask for
you're 100% right and a perfect example of case in point, and yet companies like intimina will still tell people to reduce the carbon footprint. of their periods. there are so many worse things to reduce the carbon footprint of than people literally bleeding all over the place. if everything else in the world could suddenly miraculously be made of biodegradable material and period products were the only plastics left I'd STILL defend them. fuck shame marketing

For the menstrual cup anon! What I'd suggest depends slightly on whether your removal problems are that the cup is out of reach or the discomfort of inserting fingers to remove.
If it's the latter, I've found lube to be helpful in that it makes it more comfortable, but harder to get a grip on a cup that's already quite slippery! So while I personally dont use it, it can be worth trying out if your problems removing are to do with the discomfort of having to insert fingers etc.
If it's the first issue, I've found squatting really helpful while trying to remove a cup. You might have already tried it as you mentioned changing positions but honestly the lower you can go the better! Also, if you have a stem on your cup, I've found it easier to remove while (gently!) pulling on it - side to side can be helpful - to move the cup slightly closer to your opening, then break the seal with your fingers when it's close enough to reach. If it's so out of reach that these suggestions arent helpful/you've already tried them, is there a chance that the cup is too short for you? You can get longer cups that are designed for higher cervixes (the lily cup by intimina comes to mind, though there are many others!) and they might be more suitable for you. I'd recommend looking at Period Nirvana's cup comparison chart if this is the case.
Otherwise good luck, anon! I really hope you find something that works for you xx
sorry I haven't published this sooner you're very good advice has just been getting fucking squandered in my inbox (ಥ﹏ಥ)
I hope this finds the anon who needed it, and anyone else who does!

Pantone’s “Period” !
Pantone has released a bold new shade of red, called "Period," to help destigmatize menstruation. The new hue -- an "energizing and dynamic red shade that encourages period positivity," according to a press release -- was launched as part of the Seen+Heard campaign, an initiative by Swedish feminine care brand, Intimina.
Vice president of the Pantone Color Institute, Laurie Pressman, described the color as a "confident red" that can help encourage positive conversations about menstruation.
"active and adventurous red hue, courageous Period emboldens those who menstruate to feel proud of who they are -- to own their period with self-assurance; to stand up and passionately celebrate the exciting and powerful life force they are born with; to urge everyone, regardless of gender, to feel comfortable to talk spontaneously and openly about this pure and natural bodily function," Pressman said via email.
Menstruation remains a taboo topic in many parts of the world, impacting people's health, education and socioeconomic status.
In India, for instance, women are sometimes forbidden from cooking or touching anyone during their period, as they are considered impure or dirty, which can contribute to a culture of silence and misinformation around hygienic practices. And in a mid-western region of Nepal, a 2019 study found that the practice of making girls sleep in menstruation huts is still prevalent, despite a nationwide ban.
The stigma also impacts women in the US, where period poverty -- a lack of access to affordable menstrual hygiene products -- affects one in five teens."Despite the fact that billions of people experience menstruation, it has historically been treated as something that shouldn't be seen or talked about publicly," said Intimina's global brand manager, Danela Žagar, in a press statement."
And if we look at popular culture, depictions of periods have ranged from wildly inaccurate and unsympathetic to being the subject of jokes and derision.
Pantone's latest initiative joins a number of recent efforts to boost the visibility of the so-called "period positivity" movement. In 2019, a short documentary called "Period. End of Sentence," directed by Rayka Zehtabchi, won an Academy Award. Later that year, the Unicode Consortium -- a non-profit organization that develops and approves new emoji -- introduced a "drop of blood" symbol following a campaign by the girls' rights and children's charity, Plan International.
While Pantone is best-known for its Color of the Year (which this year went to Classic Blue, a balm for uncertain times), it has also launched colors related to social and environmental issues.
In May, the organization released Pippi Longstocking Orange as part of Save the Children's "Girls on the Move" initiative. Then, following the choice of Living Coral as 2019's Color of the Year, Pantone partnered with the Ocean Agency and Adobe to release Glowing Blue, Glowing Yellow and Glowing Purple -- shades based on the fluorescent colors produced by coral when threatened by warming oceans.
"Color is one of the most powerful modes of expression we can use to engage attention and get our voices heard," Pressman said.

Okay, so this question is for any who has a period and has tried a mooncup or any other variation.
I’ve been wearing tampons since I first got my period in year 5 and they’re just not cutting it anymore. I go through them like they’re going out of fashion. Then one of my friends told me about the moon cup. Now, I’m a little nervous about the idea, but willing to try it out.
One friend told me they got the Intimina Lilycup Compact because it’s softer on insertion- they swear by it, but obviously everyone has different bodies and experiences so I was wondering if anyone had any reviews or recommendations with other similar products they can tell me a bit more about?
Any info you’re willing to give- both on this post, or privately in my dm’s would be super helpful. Thank you :)
