Intersex Refugee Flag
For the upcoming Intersex Day of Remembrance (Nov 8) I wanted to make a relevant flag.
I made an intersex version of the refugee flag, for intersex refugees. The refugee flag's design is a reference to the personal flotation devices (lifejackets) that so many refugees depend upon when fleeing by boat.
Too many intersex people die trying to escape dangerous situations. Too many intersex people are forced to become refugees. For intersex day of remembrance this year, these are the people who came first to mind for me. 😢
Given the genocide in Gaza, some of the charities I've been donating to have been ones which help LGBTQI+ people claim asylum in safer countries, such as: - Rainbow Railroad (USA+Canada) - Rainbow Refugee (Canada) - Rainbow Migration (UK)
If you live in another relatively safe country, you can likely find similar organizations by searching "rainbow migration <countryname>". If you have the means, it's one way to help intersex Gazans, Ukrainians, Rohingyas, Sudanese, and other refugees get to safety. 💜
I made and queued this post before the US election results came in. I'm editing it now to explicitly send my love to trans & intersex Americans. I hope you are able to get to a safe, blue state with legal protections for you. 💙
Acknowledgments: @scifimagpie gave feedback on prototypes. Tagging @intersexflags @varsex-pride @radiomogai @beyond-mogai-pride-flags for archival

We Need Your Support Now More Than Ever🏳️🌈🙏
Hello friends.
We are LGBTIQ refugees from East Africa, and we are facing unimaginable challenges in the refugee camps where we have been displaced. Every day, we struggle to survive in hostile environments filled with homophobia and persecution. Our lives are constantly at risk, and we need your help to make it through these difficult times.
Despite the challenges, we have some good news to share! The first group of LGBTIQ refugees from our community is finally heading to Canada. This is a huge milestone for us, and it wouldn't have been possible without your incredible support. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has stood by us, and we ask that you continue to support us in whatever way you can.
But we still have a long way to go. Many of us remain in these camps, living in fear and uncertainty. We are asking, kindly, for your donations to our fundraiser. Every penny counts—whether it’s for food, medication, or shelter, your contribution helps us survive another day.
Even though it's difficult to keep asking, we cant stop. Our lives and futures depend on your generosity. Please, if you can, donate to our cause. Together, we can create a safer future for our community.
Thank you for your continued support, and let’s keep moving forward.
Other ways to Donate.⬇️

Urgent Plea for Advocacy: Lesbians in Kakuma Refugee Camp Need Security and Protection
Dear Advocates, Organizations, and Human Rights Defenders,
In the shadows of discrimination, hate, and assault, we, a group of lesbians in Kakuma Refugee Camp, are reaching out for urgent support and advocacy. The challenges we face daily have led to feelings of despair and desperation, prompting us to seek your assistance.
We implore you to stand with us in urging UNHCR and DRS to take immediate action to enhance our security and protection. Our community deserves the right to live free from fear and prejudice.
Share this message, donate, raise awareness, advocate, boost, reblog and let our voices be heard. Together, let's strive for a future where everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation, can find safety and acceptance. 🏳️🌈
Please spare anything even if it's little to save innocent lives of lesbians from selling off their bodies to get access for food and pads plus others using of dirty clothes or polythene bags during period time due to lack of access to pads hence can lead them to sexually transmitted diseases.
Remember every coin you spare is Worthy to save innocent lives of lesbians to get access for pads

‼️ URGENT ‼️
Ashely Phil has reached out to me to share this video!
Although groups are being sent to Canada, they still need resources like food and water, medicine, tents, mosquito nets, repairs (especially because of the destructive rainy season), warm clothes and suitcases, etc. It is dangerous for the LGBTQ+ community, since the environment is so hostile and hate crimes are common.
Please consider donating, and please share!

begging young people to stop getting all their opinions from pinterest and tiktok
NO, radical feminism doesn’t suddenly become a-okay as long as it’s trans inclusive
NO, you being traumatized by men doesn’t give you an excuse to threaten random people you perceive as men
NO, someone’s identity not making sense to you isn’t a personal attack against you or the queer community as a whole
NO, you can’t call intersex people disordered or deformed
NO, intersex people DO want to be included in the queer community, stop speaking on our behalf
NO, using the f slur AS A SLUR isn’t reclaiming it, regardless of whether it applies to you or not
NO, having kinks isn’t a gateway to becoming a horrible abuser
NO, it’s not okay to threaten random people for having contradictory labels
NO, sex work is not inherently predatory and always abuse
NO, men CAN AND DO have periods and get pregnant (YES, including those icky cis men. intersex cis men exist)

Help An Intersex Transfem And A Transmasc Escape The USA
As the USA has gotten more and more hostile for trans people, my partner and I have been struggling more and more to feel safe and secure in our country. Regardless of my feelings on various issues we have decided that the best course of action is to flee the USA for the time being. I have a small hope I may be able to come back one day but for now I must leave. Unfortunately we have gotten into a bit of a pickle. Back in December of 2024, my partner and I were a victim of a hit and run which totaled our car. We had our car entirely totaled which was a horrific experience.
We have had to buy a new car and it completely tanked our savings to the extent we are not struggling to stay more afloat and have had to be careful about our spending. This means fleeing America is much harder. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated!
I also have a Kofi which can be used to help alternatively if you don't want to give to a gofundme for whatever reason

Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya is home to 200,000 people, and of those 60,000 are LGBTQIA+ or queer. I learned about their situation from @kakuma-queer
Alongside the hardships of living in Kakuma, these people suffer persecution for their identities, including physical harm and verbal harassment from local townspeople and other refugees, denial of services and resources due to their orientations and identities, and lack of access to specialised healthcare.
A 2023 Amnesty International article:
A 2021 report by Organisation for Refuge, Asylum & Migration:
GoFundMe links:
GoFundMe fundraisers have been organised to get the money needed to improve the situation for queer people in Kakuma.
@kakuma-queer97 also has a PayPal to donate directly:

my friend Ashley had been disowned as a teenager for being queer. her life, health and safety have been compromised by homophobia and transphobia every day since. no authority could ever be trusted, they’re free to harass queer individuals, too. there’s no justice and no fairness. but she deserves help and support, she deserves to express her identity freely and should not be met with threat of violence and imprisonment for it, she shouldn’t be homeless and starving because of it.
right now Ashley is struggling with a serious health issue and needs surgery asap. she could count only on donations and i’m insistingly asking you to consider donating and sharing her fundraiser. she’s in constant pain and her painkillers don’t work anymore, she’s lost weight because she couldn’t eat, she can’t sleep at night, and she’s loosing lots of blood as a result of severe hemorrhoids.
as a black trans individual from East Africa seeking refuge she doesn’t have platforms to reach out for help and support and it’s very hard for her to be heard. check out her blog @ashleymilesphil to learn more, share her posts and leave a kind word, too.

HELLO EVERYONE! ✨🌈
I created the philanthropic community for mutual aid on Tumblr, but almost no one noticed/joined it, if you want to help and blaze this post, that would be helpful! The minimum blaze is 10 dollars and the post is shown on 2500 people's dashboard, if anyone can help, I'd appreaciate it! 🙏🤍
Love always, 𝓓𝓪𝓻𝓵𝓲𝓷𝓰 ✨🌈

Please donate to help LGBTQ+ refugees find safety
@lgbtq-refugees reached out to me to tell me about the situation many lgbtq+ people are experiencing in Uganda and other countries in East Africa, as well as in refugee camps where they fled to for safety.
They experience discrimination and violence on a daily basis, and their situations are dire, with lack of medical care and food, with HIV spreading quickly and no way to treat it.
Any amount donated helps.
They've only received $175 out of
$5,000. They're only 4% of the way to their goal. Please donate anything you can. If you're unable to donate, please interact with and reblog this post so that it reaches people who can.

I don’t want to sound desperate, but I feel like so many of you don’t care or have stopped caring about the struggles of LGBTQ refugees in East Africa.
We are a group of queer refugees living in a very hostile refugee camp. Every day, we fight to survive amidst starvation, a lack of clean water, and the constant threat of disease. Some of us are battling malaria and HIV without access to proper medication. Our stories are heartbreaking, but they barely reach the world.
It has now been 4 days since we last received a donation. Many of us are running out of food, and clean drinking water is a luxury we can only dream of. Some members of our community, including children, are dangerously malnourished. We live with the reality of illnesses that could be prevented if we had access to basic healthcare.
What will it take for the world to care about us? As LGBTQ refugees, we have been silenced, abandoned, and persecuted, but we refuse to lose hope. We need your support to make it through another day.
Please, if you’re reading this, consider donating to help us. Your contributions will go directly toward food, clean water, and essential medication. Every little bit helps. If you cannot donate, reblog this post and spread the word. Your kindness and generosity can save lives.
The very fact that we are still here, holding on, is a testament to our resilience. But we can’t do this alone.
Please, share, reblog, and if you’re able, donate. Together, we can bring hope and relief to a community that has been forgotten by the world.

Fellow Activists we need your voice and donation
https://gofund.me/6930e2d7
Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people in Kenya face significant challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents. Sodomy is prohibited in Kenya, punishable by 21 years' imprisonment, and any sexual practices (termed "gross indecency") are a felony of the same statute, punishable by 5 years' imprisonment. On 24 May 2019, the High Court of Kenya refused an order to declare same sex marriage. The state does not recognise any relationships between persons of the same sex; same-sex marriage is banned under the Kenyan Constitution since 2010. There are no explicit protections against discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity. Adoption is restricted to heterosexual couples only.
Expressions of homosexuality are illegal under Kenyan statutes and carry a maximum penalty of 14 years' imprisonment to 21 years in certain aggravating circumstances. Sex acts between women are mentioned under the gender-neutral term person and are enforced equally. Indeed, Prime Minister Raila Odinga in November 2010 called on for them to be arrested along with gay men.
LGBTQ migrants "asylum seeker and refugees" living in Kenya and continue to be at risk since the host community has stood firm on their decision to eliminate whoever practicing sodomy as stated.

Please don't forget to consider making a donation to make aworld of difference on our lives even if it's little but can make a great impact

Had a guy with kind eyes, earrings, and a wife and kids come in for dinner at work last night. He had a Trump shirt with big bold letters that said "Daddy's come". I am very visibly queer and felt a little intimidated to say the least. I took them to their table and he offered to help me carry high chairs to their table. Later that night I watched as he laughed with his son and daughter at the claw machine. I thought, "sometimes I forget people are people regardless of their political party" because he was kind to me. I felt guilty, almost. Then I remembered that his people want to kill mine with their guns. And that was the end of that.
#For the record I am not so very oppressed being white enough and lower middle class#I am lucky to even have a job#To have been born fortunate enough to get a house eventually and have two parents who are flawed but love me as of now#Hell I am sitting on my couch stomach full of food with a roof over my head right now#But a little oppressed is still oppressed#My friends and I are often harrassed by little boys who don't know what they're talking about but that is a very small issue compared to-#-what my trans intersex colored homeless native unemployed immigrant afab disabled religious refugee brothers and sisters are facing
