Ranting in the tags isn’t enough so I’m going to say one more time that just because Maximus isn’t morally gray doesn’t mean he isn’t complex
#i would even argue!!! that having predominately morally gray characters is actually has been detrimental to storytelling!!#but y’all aren’t ready for that conversation yet#i just think maximus is a perfect example of a “good hero#the kind who isn’t swayed by temptation#doesn’t have a ton of skeletons in the closet#isn’t constantly fighting back his wicked desires#just genuinely does his job wants to do the right thing and loves his home family and emperor#like??? how is he boring for that???#he certainly doesn’t lack in angst and internal conflict and character development!!#people saying maximus has no character development: did we watch the same movie???#just because he doesn’t have to overcome his own evil nature doesn’t mean he isn’t complex or developed#he is a fully fleshed out person#and!!! he does have flaws as a character!#he has blind spots in being too trusting of the security of his position#he believed in the good of rome and didn’t foresee what could happen#he gives in to bitterness and hate for awhile while he’s grieving his family#he literally gives up on life and tries to let himself die multiple times#and those flaws shape some of the things he goes through!#yet beneath all the hardships he remains true to who he is#a noble kind patient logical loving loyal gentleman who treasures the right things and is willing to do whatever he must to stay honorable#something to chew on: maximus is between 30 and 35 years old in gladiator#he’s not an 18 year old kid who’s trying to learn life lessons#he’s already learned most of them!!#he’s already who he wants to be!!!#and dont even get me started on all his little quirks and mannerisms#all the things that make him REAL#gladiator#maximus decimus meridius#text posts#russell crowe

'Whether you call it a 'green wave' or not, the fact is that Irish culture is having quite the moment.
Last week it was all about our Oscars success, with Oppenheimer star Cillian Murphy winning for Best Actor, and production company Element scooping four statuettes for the Yorgos Lanthimos tour de force Poor Things.
Rewind to the 2023 Oscars, when publications across the world tried to figure out what was in the water over here. Just how did we do it: a record set for Irish nominations, a landmark nomination for An Cailín Ciúin, a win for short film An Irish Goodbye? Not to mention the sense that Irish actors were ruling the roost, from longtimers like Colin Farrell to relative newcomer Paul Mescal.
Mescal, of course, was also part of the small screen success of Normal People, which alongside Derry Girls and Bad Sisters helped put contemporary Irish TV shows on the global map. Going from being a GAA-playing student to the toast of Hollywood in just a few years, he has epitomised how short the Ireland-to-LA pipeline is these days. (His next big project is a major role in the Gladiator sequel. No biggie.)...
So could 2024 eclipse 2023 in how high the green wave can really get? The year, after all, kicked off with Mescal and Andrew Scott charming their way through the press tour for the heart-shattering All of Us Strangers.
Next up were the great reviews for the forthcoming Cillian Murphy film Small Things Like These, based on the novella by lauded author Claire Keegan, and the first Irish film to open the Berlin International Film Festival.
Eyes are on Ireland’s cultural output in a fresh way now, and it looks like we have the goods to keep up our success. We can find some of the secrets behind the green wave in Cillian Murphy’s own story: looking both within Ireland and outside it to find an audience, and staying true to your craft.
We can also credit Ireland opening up to the world, and social media helping Ireland see and be seen abroad. Still, it’s impossible to get to these heights without support, so we have to note what Ireland offers creatives - like the support of Screen Ireland/Fís Éireann, the Arts Council and First Music Contact for starters.
It’s not enough to coast on success without investing in the future, which was highlighted by Murphy himself after his Oscar win. "I think in Ireland we’re really great at supporting artists," he said. "And I think we need to continue to support artists and the next generation of artists and directors."
If we don’t want the green wave to break, we’d do well to bear his words in mind.'

Gladiator 2 to Make Asian Premiere at Tokyo Film Festival
Ridley Scott’s Gladiator II will start its Asian box office campaign in Japan. The Tokyo International Film Festival revealed Friday that it will host the Asian premiere of the epic sequel on Nov. 5 — more than two weeks ahead of its North American release over the Thanksgiving weekend on Nov. 22. The screening is a coup for Japan’s leading film festival, which used to regularly host Hollywood…

Anonymous asked:
His pants felt way too fucking tight, and he had to fight the urge to take her right then and there. There was just one thing he wanted to hear. One simple thing. "What do we say?" It was a gamble, but if she wants to take over for herself she's free to try. He said he wanted to hear her beg, and he's not going to fuck her until she does.
He moved his hand away from her mouth, trailing it down to her throat and gently squeezing it. Two more fingers thrust inside her, his words puncuated by crooking them but not enough. "What. Do. We. Say?"
what do we say? Her mind raced. What. Please? Take me? Stop teasing me? All of the above? Her mouth opened to answer but a gasp left her instead when fingers curled around her throat and - oh! Oh fuck oh fuck -
“Please!” Her walls clenched around the now three fingers inside her and she couldn’t help but grind against his hand. Each movement made caused jolts of pleasure. Already she couldn’t think. “Please!!”

the Chinese Wrestling Federation boasts an entertainment schedule through out the week. That showcases show wrestling, gladiator entertainment, ridiculous game show entertainment & fitness wellness for the masses. The eleven here are some of their most entertaining personalities. Some with decade long careers & aliases. They recruit the crazies from all around the world & even those in Ongree & Ziestl come to Earth for the entertainment. Hellmouth happens to have the longest career, Final E was right with him until his untimely death. Mason Drex' career is just as long as theirs. Dragonfly Power & Butterfly Kisses were a dreamy package deal. Real Cruel & Bad Worm came around at the same time. Prozia, Chicano Bull, the Tragedy & Yihoho Misil are the rest of the youngins. Even some of the other characters of the story have come through the Chinese Wrestling Federation. It's real hardcore entertainment for the masses that never disappoints. No one needs them to do more, as if they couldn't; but when super powers are unearthed, it's going to be the focal point that will never stop giving for real. Just to take it back a bit; Hellmouth is known for his fire showcasing abilities & yes, he has been covering up his super beingness through out his charades. Final E was the current day, most ridiculous dare devil. Mason Drex is physically the fastest out of everyone; they have to handicap him sometimes for the marathon shows. Dragonfly Power boasts a lot of finishing moves & is regarded as the most creative when it comes to choreography. Butterfly Kisses is the most dreamiest of the line up. Real Cruel has a mouth on her & boasts a lot of finishing moves. Bad Worm brings contortionism to the show, second when it comes to choreography. Prozia is the toughest, she hasn't lost an endurance match up since her first day in the big leagues. Chicano Bull is the second fastest, but his character is the most sought after; a three horned bull keeps them coming for more. the Tragedy has the most therapeutic & ridiculous story line; she's the princess that must avenge her family by becoming a champion of the Chinese Wrestling Federation. & Yihoho Misil is a gold medaling gymnast who is the embodient of the term brave.

Generals Daughter and her gladiator 🤎🏛️
Hanno/ Lucius Verus x afab! Reader
I own none of these characters except Y/N (if you even want to consider her a character)
Tumblr media
——————
Y/N stood amongst the opulence of Senator Thraex's grand party, her eyes scanning the lavish surroundings. The twin emperors, were seated in places of honor, their presence commanding the room, while their whores rubbed themselves desperately against their emperors. But it was the sight in the center of the room that captured her attention—two gladiators were about to fight for the evening's entertainment.
“What are they going to do Aelia?” Y/N asked her friend next to her who was coincidentally Senator Thraxe’s young wife, Aelia
“What does it look like, silly, they’re gonna fight!” Aelia said getting excited
Among them was a fierce looking dark haired man, and an older barbaric gladiator known for his fierce reputation. As the fight started, Y/N watched intently. The dark haired man seemed reluctant, trying to stop the other man, but the crowd's demands and the emperor's orders left him no choice. With a heavy heart and a fierce determination, after minutes of fighting, the dark haired man eventually impaled his opponent, the crowd in the room erupting in cheers. Y/N and Aelia giggling as they clapped, finding entertainment in these fights.
“What a spectacular fight” Emperor Geta said as he finished clapping dramatically and walked over in front of the dark haired man.
“What’s your name, slave.”
The silence in the room was deafening, so silent you could hear your guards breathing.
“Hanno is his name, Caesar. He only speaks his native tounge, Caesar” Macrinus the stable master said as he reassured him.
The emperor hummed as if he was thinking of what to say next. Finally, the dark haired slave spoke up.
“The gates of Hell are open night and day; smooth the descent, and easy the way. But to return, and view the cheerful skies, in this the task and mighty labor lies.” He said with a smug look.
“So Hanno is a poet, too” Geta said while chuckling dryly.
“Geta don’t be rude” Caracalla said in a joking manner as he sat up in his seat. All his jewelry clanked as he moved.
For a split second Hanno looked over trying to regain his composure, eyes landing on Y/N
“Can’t wait to see how you are in the arena. Hanno.” Emperor Geta said as he looked at the slave one last time before walking back to his seat
Soon after, the music of the harp started back up. Moved by his internal struggle and the raw power he displayed, Y/N made a swift decision. She turned to her guard and whispered urgently, "I must meet him. Arrange it immediately." The guard nodded and hurried to comply.
______
Soon after, Y/N found herself in the steam-filled bathhouse where Hanno was enjoying his hard-earned reward. He looked up as she entered, jewelry adorning her wrists and her necklace sparkling off the steaming water. His eyes narrowing with suspicion and curiosity. “You’re not supposed to be here" he said, his voice rough and edged with bitterness.
“So he speaks”
Y/N stepped closer, her gaze unwavering. "I saw you fight. You did not want to kill him, yet you did. I wanted to meet the man who battles not just with his body, but with his conscience."
Hanno's expression softened slightly, a flicker of intrigue in his eyes. "And what do you hope to gain from this meeting? And again why are you here?" His words were still harsh, but there was a hint of something else—perhaps a spark of interest in the boldness of the beautiful lady.
“You heard me the first time” Y/N said, in a challenging tone. She sat down on the ledge of the tub as spoke with a lowered voice. "I want to know where you came from, Hanno. Who you are beyond the fighting. I saw the conflict in your eyes tonight. You're not just a brute for their entertainment."
Hanno's eyes narrowed, though his posture remained relaxed. "You speak with conviction, but words are easy, princess. What makes you think your curiosity will change anything? What makes you think I even want to share my past?"
“You think I’m a princess? So eager to jump to conclusions. Well if it make a difference I’m General Acacius’ daughter. Now you know where I come from” Y/N said trying to read the dark haired man
“You didn’t answer me the first time, why are you here?” Hanno said, eyes darkening as he realized who’s daughter he was talking to
Y/N's lips curved into a smirk. "Because I believe there's more to you than what meets the eye. And because I know what it's like to be trapped by expectations, to have your identity overshadowed by a title. We are not so different, you and I.“ She said as she got up from where she was sitting and got ready to walk out.
“In two days time, when you’re in the arena, win the crowd. They’ll love you” She said smugly before walking out.
______
Two days later, the Colosseum was buzzing with excitement. The gladiator games were set to continue, and the crowd was eager for more bloodshed. The Emperors, Macrinus, General Acacius, Lucilla, and Y/N were all present, watching intently from their seats. All in their noble attire, the emperors gold accessories sparkling in the sunlight.
Hanno and the other gladiators were brought into the arena. As they stood there, Hanno knelt and ran the dirt through his hands, a gesture reminiscent of the late warrior Maximus. This caught Lucilla’s attention, and she recognized Hanno. Y/N, noticing Lucilla’s reaction, leaned in.
“Lucilla, you seem troubled. Are you alright?” Y/N asked with genuine concern.
“I am fine, just... a memory stirred dear,” Lucilla replied, her voice tinged with a hint of sadness.
The games commenced with a brutal fervor. Hanno and the other gladiators were pitted against the undefeated gladiator Glyceo, who entered the arena atop his fearsome rhino. The battle was fierce and chaotic, with Glyceo mercilessly slaughtering the other men. The crowd roared with approval as the bodies fell, leaving only Hanno standing against Glyceo.
Y/N nervously started twisting her rings around her fingers, praying to the gods they kept Hanno alive.
Hanno and Glyceo faced each other, the tension palpable. Their fight was intense, each strike filled with raw power. Glyceo managed to knock Hanno to the ground. Geta, watching from above, turned his back looking for someone to help him decide
“Y/N, what do you think we should do with him” Geta asked as the arena waited for an answer
“Caesar, show mercy.” Y/N said in an almost pleading tone. Finding entertainment in these fights. Geta pointed his thumb upwards. Giving Glyceo a chance to spear Hanno
“Mercy is for the weak.”
Hanno, refusing to give up, rose to his feet and continued the fight. With a final, desperate effort, he impaled Glyceo, the champion’s eyes widening in shock as the blade was pulled out of his stomach. The crowd fell silent, holding their breath as they awaited the next move.
Geta, maintaining his cruel demeanor, gave the thumbs-down signal. Hanno, breathing heavily and covered in blood, took two swords and, with a swift, cross-like motion, decapitated Glyceo. The head rolled away as the crowd erupted into a mixture of shock and exhilaration.
Y/n watched intently as Hanno stood victorious, his chest heaving, and his eyes wandered to the Emperors box across the arena. The crowd cheering was deafening. He had won the crowd. In that moment, it was clear that the games were far from over.
Y/n felt a shiver run down her spine, knowing that this was only the beginning of a much larger conflict.
______
“Row. Row. Row” The commander said as the gladiators kept rowing, the practice exhausting them, hands aching.
“Ridiculous” Hanno mumbled as the commander walked past him. The commander immediately stopped in his tracks.
“What did you say, slave?”
“I said this is ridiculous” Hanno said staring him down.
“Alright, everyone out. Except you” The commander said.
“You will row until it isn’t ridiculous” the commander said as he grinned evilly as he stood tall, hands behind his back.
“I guess we’ll be here a while then” Hanno said as he started rowing again.
______
After practice, Hanno woke up by a stinging pain in his hand, still seated in the boat. Ravi, the healer, seated in front of him.
"Calm down, Hanno. It is just vinegar" Ravi said, his voice calm and reassuring as he gathered his materials.
As Ravi worked, cleaning and bandaging Hanno's hands, Hanno couldn't help but think about Y/N. The way she had leaned in to speak with Lucilla, the concern in her eyes—it all intrigued him.
"Ravi," Hanno began, wincing slightly as Ravi applied a salve to a particularly deep cut, "Tell me about Y/N."
"Y/N Acacius? General Acacius’ daughter? Why do you want to know?” Ravi said, chuckling as if it was a funny question.
“Well go on.”
Ravi paused for a moment, a thoughtful look crossing his face. “There’s not much to it. She's the general's daughter…. But.. never mind.
“What Ravi?” Hanno said, starting to get annoyed.
“There's more to her than what meets the eye."
Hanno's interest was piqued. "What do you mean?"
Ravi continued, his hands moving deftly over Hanno's wounds. "She's a warrior, trained in the arts of combat. But she stopped fighting after the death of her mother and her father's remarriage. People know she knows how to fight, but not many bother for her hand because they know she’s strong and the general’s daughter—meaning she was taught very well in combat."
Hanno absorbed this information, a newfound interest growing within him. "A warrior who set aside her sword... I didn't expect that."
Ravi smiled slightly. "Few do. But y/n is not one to be underestimated. She carries the weight of her responsibilities with grace and strength. You'd do well to remember that. Why do you want to know though, I thought you hated the General."
As Ravi finished tending to his wounds, Hanno felt a sense of admiration and curiosity about Y/N. He realized that there was much more to her than he had initially thought, and he was determined to learn more about the mysterious women who had captured his attention.
______
Y/N was lounging in the tablinum area, her mind drifting aimlessly as she tried to relax. The events of the day had been intense, and she needed a moment of peace. Just then, Lucilla walked in, her face etched with worry and tension.
"Lucilla, what's wrong?" Y/N asked, sitting up straighter. She had noticed Lucilla's troubled demeanor earlier at the games but hadn't had the chance to ask.
Lucilla hesitated, her eyes filled with a mix of sorrow and determination. "Y/N, there's something I need to tell you. But if I tell you, you cannot share this to another soul. And right now only your father knows about this.”
“What troubles you?”
“It's about Hanno... or rather, Lucius." Lucilla says as she finds a seat near Y/N
Y/N's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "Lucius? What do you mean?"
Taking a deep breath, Lucilla began to explain. "Hanno is actually my son. His real name is Lucius. After my brother Commodus was killed by Maximus, I had to send Lucius away to keep him safe. He was and still is the rightful successor, and I feared for his life."
Y/N listened intently, the pieces of the puzzle slowly coming together. "So, you sent him away to protect him?"
"Yes," Lucilla nodded, her voice trembling slightly. "Senator Gracchus helped me arrange to meet with Lucius to tell him the truth about his parentage. He is the son of Maximus. But when I told him, he was furious. He ordered me to leave his cell, angry that I had sent him away and blaming Acacius for Arishat’s death."
Y/N's heart ached for Lucilla. She didn’t know who Arishat was or why he was mad at her father, but she had to figure it out"That's a lot for him to take in. What will you do now?"
"I went to your father," Lucilla admitted, her eyes pleading. "I asked him to help Lucius. He needs guidance and support now more than ever."
Y/N reached out, placing a comforting hand on Lucilla's shoulder. "We'll find a way to help him. He's strong, just like you. We'll get through this together."
Lucilla nodded, a tear slipping down her cheek. "Thank you, Y/N. Your support means everything to me."
Together, they sat in the quiet of the tablinum, the weight of their shared burdens palpable but bearable in each other's company.

You knew he would be here soon, he must.
You curled into the dark corners of the arena hall, having been here since dawn with your own father, a high military commander who struck down Marcus as punishment for such things even he wouldn’t tell you about. You knew nothing, heard nothing—you weren’t allowed such privilege.
It has been days since you last saw him—Marcus. General Acacius to many, another esteemed leader amongst the masses, and a once great friend to your father. Though, that was no longer.
You often called him sir, finding that General Acacius was quite the mouthful. Or often just General, but his endearment toward you was blatant and he insists, almost pleading that you drop the formality when alone. Which was easier, as your fondness of him grew.
It started at a celebration, one of the many grand parties thrown in celebration of fight won or any reason for the men to drink, but Marcus liked to linger. Often tucked away in a corner watching the madness unfold, you were too curious to stay locked up in your room.
The first night he caught your eye, it was a smile around the edge of his silver goblet drowning in red wine, a hand crossed over his chest as he watched you slip away in fear that he may say something to your father.
But, he never did.
For weeks after, it progresses. From a smile, to a lingering gaze, eventually he finds himself inching closer to you, week by week. Until one night he finally finds the courage in himself to be waiting by the corner you often sneak around, watching curiously.
“You are pushing it, dove.” He speaks softly, his eyes downturned to look at you from the step he was on above you, slowly inching down until he was level, “if he catches you—”
“He hasn’t,” You tell him in a clipped, hushed tone, “and you haven’t said anything. You won’t….will you?”
He bypasses the question, “Why do you come here?” Marcus curiously asks, “These men, they are—animals, if they see you dressed like that, they would not hesitate to—”
You had on a pale nightgown, thin and barely enough to cover your modesty but it was enough. The sticky, summer heat prickled your skin, formed a line of sweat across your brow and you huffed out at his words, “My father would murder them. Besides, you are not like them. So, why do you linger here?”
He was much more than a friend, closer and akin to family.
But, he had his own troubles. Stepson, a wife, he should be away caring for them. Yet, he was there with a disgruntled scowl and eyes only set on you.
“Why not?” He shrugs, “It is…quite entertaining. Isn’t that why you sneak around here to watch?”
You mimic his shrug, shying away slightly as you pull away to leave, but his hand catches your wrist, his cup placed in the gap of pillars separating you both. His facial expressions show an internal battle of thought, like he’s fighting against the bad and hoping the good would win out.
Unfortunately, the bad prevails.
“Let us walk,” He tells you, nodding toward the exit a few feet away, “if you would accompany me?”
You nod eagerly, switching the grip on your wrist to curl around his bicep, muscular and hard from years of fight training. He flexes slightly at the touch, covering his free hand over yours in a comforting gesture.
He made you feel safe. And that was all that mattered to you.
The walk was the first mistake.
It wasn’t more than a few minutes before you found yourself tucked away by a nearby tent, unbuckling and unfastening Marcus out of his gear hastily before he fucked you under your nightgown—gentle but firm. He was the first man, the first ever to have you in such a way. You’d told him so as your hands shook under the weight of his gaze, the taste of bitter wine on his lips. He’d kissed you as he pushed his cock inside of you and didn’t stop until you were tipping over the edge.
Over time, you grow bolder. Sneaking him back into your home was easy, knowing the guards weren’t as watchful in the late, late hours of the night. It was dangerous, reckless, but as you tug him down into the cellar and sink to your knees, it all fades away quickly.
His little dove, he often calls you. Sweet dove, so pure and innocent. His hand caresses your chin as you swallow him down, eyes locked on his half-lidded gaze before he comes down your throat, nose scrunching up slightly and his brow furrowing, biting at the back of his other hand to muffle the groan that escapes him.
It was always like this—hurried and quick fucks that didn’t diminish the feeling, but reminded you how easily you could both be caught. It continues for months…and months, until suddenly he stops coming around.
No parties, no visits—Marcus had become a ghost.
But, enough digging had led you here, tucked away in the shadows again—but watching as he fought for his life. The other man was much older, weaker, and Marcus struck him down within a matter of minutes, blood splattering across his face as he stuck again and again, bashing the poor man’s skull in until it was nothing, teeth gritting as his body surged with adrenaline.
Gladiator fighting wasn’t a new thing—and you knew he wasn’t the only one, but why?
He’s making his way down the arena toward the pillar you are tucked behind unknowingly, alone and battered as the guards run off to dispose of the body. You aren’t sure where Marcus is going now or when you would see him again, but you take the chance when you know no one is watching, grabbing him by the armor plate on his chest and pulling him away and into a dusty closet, knocking into a stack of buckets in the process.
You gasp as his hand wraps around your neck, fist cocked back in preparation of an attack.
But, then his eyes land on you.
“Dove, what are you—”
You shush him quickly, hands molding against his face and the dried blood, his breathing quick and short as you attempt to calm him.
“I had to see you—I thought…I thought you had—”
“I might as well be,” Marcus replies somberly, “we cannot meet like this. We cannot meet at all.”
“It’s fine, It’s fine–” You assure him, reaching forward to press your lips against his.
Marcus pulls away hesitantly, grabbing your face roughly until you look at him, eyes widening.
“They will kill you. I cannot see you again. I should not even be here with you.”
Your eyes well with tears, forcing yourself forward again to capture his lips and this time he allows it, opening his mouth slightly as your tongue dips inside, working silently at the buckles to his chest plate.
“No talking. Let us…enjoy this. If it is the last time.”
You were both well aware—he would fight for his life or die, that was it. And he would fight until that point came. He was no longer a General, completely stripped of his power. But, he was still Marcus. And you would hold onto that for as long as you could.
He’s shaking, the adrenaline raking his body and making him restless as you kissed him, tongue dipping into his mouth again as his hands roamed, squeezed, caressed.
“I will not break,” You whisper into his mouth, “take what you need, Marcus.”
It was all he needed to hear, turning you around swiftly and forcing your down with a hand against your back, arms pressing into the shelf in front of you as he pushed up the silk, carefully woven and intricate fabric of your dress—so pristine and perfect. He wanted to rip it off you, be he refrains, squeezing at your hips while he kneels behind you.
“Marcus, you need not—”
“Quiet, little dove. Let me have this,” He licks against your cunt hungrily, noisy slurps as he lapped you up, squeezing less than gentle at the inside of your thighs as they shook, his tongue swiping over your clit, a broken moan slipping past your lips, “beautiful—let me hear you.”
“Marcus,” You plea, his fingers joining his tongue as they breached you and drag against the soft, but incredibly sensitive spot inside of you, your hand reaching for his wrist tucked between your legs as you whined out his name once more, twice, until your legs gave out, feelings his strong, broad shoulders flexing as he used his brute strength to keep you upright, licking up the gush of fluids that leak out of you, rising with haste and untucking himself from his garments, wrapping a gentle hand around the back of your neck before he’s pulling you upright harshly.
“Want to leave you something,” He whispers against the shell of your ear, “something to remember me, if I shall never leave here. Something of me for you to carry on. Alright, sweet dove?”
You nod knowingly, as Marcus had always been careful to pull himself out before breaching that point. He was always careful, hesitant—but being on the brink of death, he found himself careless and desperate. He couldn’t let you go.
He slips inside of you with a hand tucked around your throat, pulling your back to his chest as he snapped his hips into you firmly, groaning lewdly into the side of your neck as he bit down, squeezing at your throat with every soft sound you made and you want it just as bad, forcing your hips back into every push of his cock—you were positive this pain would last you into next week, but you needed that reminder. His fingers dip into your skin, hard and uncaring and sure to leave marks, but that was what you wanted.
And his groans quickly turn needy, more high-pitched than you’ve ever heard them
He’s holding back, restraining himself. You turn your head, catching his heated gaze as he pants, your thumb tracing over his lip. His hand drags over your stomach, rests, curious of how beautiful you would look swollen and carrying his child.
It is a hopeful and distant dream, one that he will never foresee.
“Give it to me, Marcus,” You beg him, “I want it.”
It so easily undoes him, “Take it, my dove,” He growls, coming deep inside of you with a shaky thrust of his hips, squeezing you tight against him, “I think of you, always. You must know—know that.”
It pulls at your heart, tugs in a way that makes your entire body ache. He pulls out with a low grunt, silently tucking himself away as you adjust your dress.
“And I love you,” You admit, watching as his gaze pulls up quickly, “even if you cannot say it back. I know. I know you do.”
Marcus breathes harshly through his nose, crowding you once more but it is soothed by a gentle kiss, “You need to leave—do not come back here.”
“Marcus,” You counter, sadness lacing your tone.
“If, by some miracle, I make it out of here,” He drags his thumb along your jawline, pausing on his words as he looks you over, memorizes you, “I will find you.”
You nod jerkily, eyes never breaking from his, “Just like you always have.”
