This is their attitude and approach in all international relationships. Everyone has to walk on eggshells lest they anger the 'big bad'. It's the same attitude that gives them the arrogance to very openly now veto a ceasefire of a genocide, openly support a genocide. Help and supply that genocide of genuinely innocent people. On the world stage, they're not even hiding the fact anymore that they want a foothold in that area of the world, that they have profit interests there - hello oil. And they apparently think they're powerful enough that everyone else will just let them. Their inflated ego has intentionally wroght havoc and killed children, women, men, people who are innocent, civilians in many places and especially right now in Palestine.
This action is all taking far too long to just halt it, ceasefire, let alone decolonise Palestine, but we have had proof that some of the rules which govern the UN for example, the UN security council, don't work and aren't effective in the crises they were created for. We have proof that full veto power cannot exist , especially in the case where vested interests lie; we are realising that it must instead be a majority vote, not one negative vote vetos the entire situation. Globally, the world is realising we need to take back our power and ensure UN security councils, for example, are based on equality and practical application, instead of allowing members to act as if they have supreme power over everyone else for the pursuit of their own vested interests.

Tis the world-old story of the pride of knowledge, and the impatience of limitation with which that knowledge is often accompanied. “Eritis sicut Deus, scientes bonum et malum.” “Ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” The desire to be as God, looking into the soul of things, and commanding the mystical machinery of the universe, is the rank outblossoming of an unchastened intellectual ambition, leading naturally to discontent with the common human limits of the knowable, and to a morbid intermeddling with supernatural powers and forces, in order to lift the lofty speculator out of the vulgar sphere of confined humanity. This kicking against the bars of finite knowledge is of course rebellion against the constitution of things, disownment of the divine authority which imposed these limitations, and alliance with the Evil Spirit, whom popular belief acknowledges as the incarnation of that spirit of impatience, pride, and presumption, out of which this rebellion springs. Here we have the real motive which gives moral dignity and human interest to the legend of Faust. The compact of the Wittenberg doctor with Mephistopheles is only a striking instance of what is constantly taking place in the thinking world before us, especially in these days of curious microscopic prying into the seeds of things, and pretentious parading of all sorts of dogmatic and negative philosophies, ambitiously engaged in the insane attempt to explain the existence of a reasonable world, independent of a reasonable cause. “Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.” It is the greed of knowledge, where knowledge is not possible, and the lack of love and reverence, the indispensable conditions of moral sanity, that in ages of dreamy speculation lead to the practice of magic and necromancy, and in days of nice scientific measurement, to a hollow and heartless atheism, clothing itself in the philosopher’s mantle and accepted as wisdom by the unthinking. This aspect of the Faust legend, accordingly, did not escape the notice of Marlow, who has set it forth prominently, if not profoundly, in the opening scene of his drama; a scene which bears, indeed, a striking likeness to the opening scene in Goethe’s poem, in the fashion that a rough-hewn Highland hut is the same sort of thing as a neat English cottage, only in a more rude and unscientific style.

Casting the lot
The practice of casting lots is an ancient method used to make decisions or determine God's will. In Hebrew, the word for "lot" is "goral," which refers to small stones or pieces used in decision-making. This practice is seen throughout the Old Testament, such as in the division of the Promised Land among the tribes of Israel (Joshua 18:10) and the selection of Saul as king (1 Samuel 10:20-24).
From a conservative Christian perspective, casting lots is viewed as a means of seeking divine guidance, acknowledging God's sovereignty over human affairs. It reflects a trust in God's providence to bring about a just and fair resolution, especially in situations where human judgment may be clouded by bias or emotion.

Reading the Bible is challenging at times because I spend a lot of time having to look up so much. I used to think this embarrassing and troublesome. I felt it highlighted both my lack of knowledge and education. My ignorance. And it does.
Now however I am grateful for it. It forces me to really understand and not just assume. Because I have to research so many words to understand, I get the real understanding of the words written.
For example in reading this line in Proverbs -
Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh And intermeddleth with all wisdom.
Proverbs 18:1
I immediately thought I was being called out for liking to isolate. Being an introvert. That it was saying that my desire to isolate makes me part with all wisdom. I was slightly offended. Because I isolate a lot. I do believe that isolating too much can be an issue. I often feel guilty for wanting to do so.
In my defense I protested inwardly and stated “ Seperated can’t mean Isolate.” Followed with “even Jesus needed time alone and went off by himself”
In looking up the words this is what they mean

For "intermeddleth with" (Proverbs 18:1 the King James Version), the Revised Version (British and American) gives "rageth against" (margin "quarrelleth with").
If you re-read the proverbs statement again with the knowledge of these words understood then you can see how the meaning changes.
Human ego and that self tunnel perspective gets me into a lot of trouble.
Isolating too much is indeed probably not healthy. However the meaning had nothing to do with my self introspection.
So not knowing much has actually helped me understand more.
Note to self: remember this when feeling unequipped.

II. Fundamental Principles
Carlyle aptly termed political economy the “Dismal Science,” {13} but a great change has since been coming over its spirit. For reasons already partly outlined Economists themselves have come to recognize that the issue is purely economic and has no more right to be qualified by the adjective “political” than by the adjective “religious.” Consequently, the trend of evolutionary progress, the logic of events, has eliminated the qualifying prefix and the science of society must henceforth be considered in the light of abstract justice rather than in the interests of temporary State requirements. With the obliteration of the misleading qualification our task is much easier and Economics may be so simplified that, being merely a phase of equitable relations, the application of the law of equal freedom to industrial activities, it may be divested of all obscurity which was impossible when complicated with ever shifting political exigencies.
Social relations pertaining to the sphere of industry are independent of both political and religious requirements. In the sphere of philosophy and religion we admit “the right of private judgment”; in politics we have made great advance along the same path, but the advance but more clearly draws the line of its full recognition. Economics, in replacing political economy, has divorced political interests, ever temporary and fluctuating, from industrial aims. Religion, Politics, and Economics are three separate realms; their boundary lines never intersect. With the sphere of religion and politics, with their respective demands and obligations within the lines of voluntary agreement, the economist has no concern. Every man is free to accept a philosophic criterion or a theological creed according to the dictates of his own judgment or prejudice, or surrender his sovereignty over his own thought to the caprice of the crowd for real or supposed advantages; that is within his sovereignty over himself with which no one else has the right to interfere[.] So, similarly, you and I with others have equal right to voluntarily co-operate industrially to produce and exchange. We are aware that the State now prescribes certain rules for such relations, but if its lines should not intersect Economics, any regulations which curtail free contract, which grant privileges and create restrictions, are as unwarrantable an interference as religious intermeddling in the sphere of politics three centuries ago. Time adds nothing to a wrong – except accrued interest which, unfortunately, innocent inheritors have to pay. If our premises are correct, – and how can they be assailed? neither religious nor political claims can determine economic relations. As to how much would be left to politics does not concern us, if it can find a sphere within the lines of equal freedom without resorting to militant measures it may there remain undisturbed. If they do not harmonize with the lines evolution has established, either economic relations must be subordinated to the ever-changing requirements of religious necessities or political demands (in which case industrial evolution must be adjusted to past conditions), or the pretensions of such assertions of militancy must be denied and ignored. No advocate of twilight schemes can escape this dilemma, and if logical he should at once join his allies of the right wing, but on either horn the Anarchist asks his opponent to rest. But if, and this if covers the whole question, if we have entered upon an economic age, if neither religion nor politic can longer determine equity, nor compel certain relations otherwise than by the exercise of compulsion, they thereby declare themselves incompetent to settle living issues by progressive methods. With these deductions from admitted sociological premises, we will proceed to examine what further liberty a social regime of contract, or voluntary co-operation, yet lacks, or the removal of what restrictions the industrial type requires to introduce that equitable relations {14} to which the silver cord running through historical evolution manifestly leads?
In this light Economics ceases to be a “Dismal Science.” It is to be considered as the normal adjustment of industrial relations irrespective of the trammels which religion once, and politics now, interpose to frustrate by foreign and artificial agendas. It maybe briefly defined within five sections,[1] and in these are the fundamental principles of Economics. These are: 1. Land; 2. Labor; 3. Capital; 4. Exchange; 5. Insurance, or Security. Let us see if this is not the natural order and then, subsequently, if they are not all sufficient to produce equity in industrial activities without breaking with progress. That is, that Land is the source of all wealth, the basis of all that constitutes social progress. For without access to land labor would be inoperative, capital would not amass, exchange would not result, and civilization would not exist, for primitive societies feel no necessity for security. We may therefore unhesitatingly posit land as the first condition of social existence, the source from which arises civilization, that which in its use distinguishes our species from other animals, and raises us above them.
This granted, and it is undisputable, the second condition of life is the utilization of land, which involves the application of Labor. Land being the source of wealth, labor must be the means of its increase, or adding to what nature gratuitously supplies without cultivation. Labor applied to the soil by augmenting the natural yield of products increases the means of supporting life. If to the primitive man nature yields a living, to him who applies labor the soil yields an increased income, and hence diversity of wants. Experience taught man to gather seed and plant for future seed. He realized more by the application of labor than the virigin [sic] soil furnished unaided. As men aggregated into tribal organization, as the development of the Tribal Self brought co-operation for defence and compelled the recognition of certain social relations, this would augment. The necessity for provision would in time impose itself on those struggling for existence where the habitat was favorable and necessity urged. But land and labor conjoined, leading to larger returns, also yields more than man’s temporary requirements exact. Beside what present need required, future need demanded seed for new crops. This supply saved over and above present needs for reproductive purposes, constituted – what?
Capital, undoubtedly. Every seed so saved, every product of labor retained from consumption for reproductive use was taken from wealth had for wealth applied to increase. Every increase being wealth, that portion used to further production gives us our third factor. As this is also self evident let us proceed and see what follows the accumulation of capital.
Labor applied to land having acquired possession of capital, and the supply for the application of labor being inexhaustible, production would increase just so far as demand existed. Only then could Exchange follow, which again would stimulate production by gratifying as well as creating new wants. If exertion applied to the soil can produce more than is immediately required, if man’s productive power is greater than his consumptive capacity, it results that exchange heightens production. This also is self evident.
With access to the soil, with ability to utilize it, with product saved for reproductive use, and new wants brought out through exchange, what remains but Insurance against depredation or loss, or Security for the rewards of exertion, that is, the maintenance of equitable relations? Is there aught else, in equity, to add? Let us see what equity requires, what the industrial type demands, and wherein militancy still lurks to prevent its realization.

Proverbs: God's Wisdom for Daily Living
Devotional Scripture:
Proverbs 18:1-3(KJV): 1 Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddles with all wisdom. 2 A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself. 3 When the wicked cometh, then cometh contempt and with ignominy reproach. Proverbs 18:1-3(Amp): 1 He who willfully separates and estranges himself (from God and man) seeks his desire and pretext to break out against all wise and sound judgment. 2 A (self-confident ) fool has no delight in understanding, but only in revealing his personal opinions and himself. 3 When the wicked comes in (to the depth of evil), he becomes a contemptuous despiser (of all that is pure and good), and with inner baseness comes outer shame and reproach.
Thought for the Day
These verses tell us that those who seek to live without God and other people are not only selfish, but they also seek their way and refuse all wisdom and good judgment.
Verse 1 - This verse describes one who has abandoned society to pursue his way and do his own thing. This is sinful since God created man for two purposes. One, He desires a personal relationship with us; and two, He desires us to live together in harmony so we will be a help and blessing to each other. After God created Adam, He said it was not good that man should live alone. So, he made him a companion and helper. "And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a help meet for him" (Genesis 2:18).
The Lord is the inventor of marriage and families. In today's society, the devil is trying to destroy families in many different ways. Homosexuals are trying to redefine the family unit by sanctioning men to live with men in sexual relationships (as well as women with women). The Biblical definition of a family is a husband and a wife who procreate by having children. This is the core family. Certainly, when a member of this family dies or leaves, the others are still considered family. Some families also include others in their circle by inviting them to live with them. This may include an extended family member or those who are adopted.
The devil also seeks to separate families by divorce. Sadly, most divorces are caused by selfishness. Each party wants its way and is not serving the other. As Christians, we must love each other and lay our lives down for one another. If this is not done at the basic level in a marriage, then our Christianity is hollow. In our society, doing our own thing is glamorized. We have all heard statements like: "I should be fulfilled." "I should not waste my life in a bad marriage." "I should not put up with the things in my mate that I do not like." "I have my rights and they should come first." These are just a few arguments that the enemy uses to make his divorce case.
As Christians, our goal should not be to please ourselves but to please Him who gave His life for us. If we are truly committed to God, we will seek to obey and serve Him in all of our ways. The first place that our Christian love gets tested is in our homes. If we cannot love one another there, how then, can we love others outside our homes? 1 Corinthians 13 gives us a definition of what true Christian love is. The word "love" is used loosely in the world. It usually means an emotional feeling, a desire to be with someone, and can even be mere physical lust for someone. This is not the definition of God's love. He loves even when He is not loved. He laid His life down so that we might have life. God is a giver, not a taker. As His children, we are challenged to be like Him. We can only do this as we allow Him to live in and through us.
Verses 2-3 - These verses describe many a person in today's society. They have no delight in understanding God's ways or even listening to another's opinion. They are prideful and revel in their personal opinions. A self-absorbed person who serves only himself will go deeper into evil, as selfishness leads to many other sins. The baseness of his own heart will cause him to commit overt sins that will eventually be seen by all. Many of our public figures have had to endure shame when their secret sins were exposed. We can avoid this kind of life if we seek God and seek to do His will. When we serve and obey God, we will serve those around us in love.
Prayer Devotional for the Day
Dear heavenly Father, thank you for loving us. Lord, you loved us even when we were unlovely. I am ever grateful for Your love. Fill me today with Your love so that I can be like You and love the unlovely and be kind to everyone, including the wicked. Lord, You love everyone, as You send Your rain on the unjust, as well as the just. Help me to love those who touch my life that is not always kind to me. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit so that my character does not change when people come against me. I truly want to be able to bless my enemies and do good to them. I can only do this by allowing Your love to come through me. I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen. From: Steven P. 63. Now understand the deepest essence of your soul, what "soul" is. Soul is a being that can be beheld by God and by which, again, God can be beheld. Soul is also a being that wishes to content God; it maintains a worthy state of being as long as it has not fallen beneath anything that is alien to it and less than the soul's own dig-nity. If it maintains this worthy state, the soul is a bottomless abyss in which God suffices to himself; and his own self-sufficiency ever finds fruition to the full in this soul, as the soul, for its part, ever does in him. Soul is a way for the passage of God from his depths into his liberty; and God is a way for the passage of the soul into its liberty, that is, into his inmost depths, which cannot be touched except by the soul's abyss. And as long as God does not belong to the soul in his totality, he does not truly satisfy it. 80. The power of sight that is created as natural to the soul is charity. This power of sight has two eyes, love and reason. Reason cannot see God except in what he is not; love rests not except in what he is. Reason has its secure paths, by which it proceeds. Love experiences failure, but failure advances it more than reason. Reason advances toward what God is, by means of what God is not. Love sets aside what God is not and rejoices that it fails in what God is. Reason has more satisfaction than love, but love has more sweetness of bliss than reason. These two, however, are of great mutual help one to the other; for reason instructs love, and love enlightens reason. When reason abandons itself to love's wish, and love consents to be forced and held within the bounds of reason, they can accomplish a very great work. This no one can learn except by experience. For wisdom does not interfere here or try to penetrate this wonderful and fathomless longing, which is hidden from all things; that is only for the fruition of love. In this joy the stranger shall not intermeddle (Prov. 14:10) — or anyone outside of Love. To gain it the soul must be nursed with motherly care, in the joy of the blessedness of great love, and disciplined by the rod of fatherly mercy; moreover it must cling inseparably to God, read its judgments in his countenance, and thereby abide in peace. 112. Now when this noble soul turns back to men and human affairs, it brings a countenance so joyous and so wonderfully sweet from the oil of charity that in all things willed by charity it turns to men with mercy. But from the truth and justice of the judgments it has received in the divine countenance, it appears to ignoble men awesome and unheard-of (Exod. 34:29-30). And when these ignoble men see that the soul is then wholly arrayed according to truth and well-regulated in all ways, how fearful and alarming it is to them! They must give way to it under the pressure of Love. But they who have been chosen for such a state in union with Love and are not yet full grown for it possess already, in their capacity, the omnipotence of eternity; yet this is unknown to themselves and also to others.
130. Thus reason secretly gives its light. This power of sight of the soul enlightens the soul in all the truth of God's will. For he who reads his judgments in God's countenance works becomingly, in conformity with the truth of the laws of Love. The law of Love is to be obedient; this is contrary to the way of acting of many aliens. And he must work not like anyone else, but according to truth. He is subject to no one save Love alone, who holds him fettered in love. No matter what anyone else would have said, he speaks according to Love's will. And he does service and performs the works of Love according to her will night and day in all liberty, without delay or fear and without counting the cost, according to the judgments he has read in Love's countenance. These judgments remain hidden from all who, on account of alien motives or alien things, forsake the works of Love because they are scorned among aliens, who prefer and judge it better that their will, rather than Love's will, be done. For they have not come to the great countenance of omnipotent Love, by which we may live free in the midst of every kind of distress. 154. You must know this liberty, and you must also know those who serve for its sake. People judge all sorts of things for themselves, and in this way, under the delusion of greater liberty, they scorn the works of Love; they do so indeed with great worldly wisdom. And so as to neglect the commandments of Love, some issue contrary com-mands. But a noble person who wishes to keep his rule of life, following what enlightened reason teaches him, does not fear the aliens' commands or counsels, no matter what torment befalls him in consequence, be it scandal, disgrace, indictments, insults, desertion, imprisonment, homelessness, nakedness, or utter want of every sort of thing man ought to have. He is not afraid to be ready to show obedience to Love in all that she wills, and to devote himself to her in truth, in all things and through all troublesome works, in the joy of his heart with all the power of Love. 174. By your whole life, then, you should gaze fixedly at God with the sweet eyes of single affection, which always seeks the service of the Beloved with delight. That is, you should contemplate your dear God cordially, yes, much more than cordially, so that the eyes of your desire, both together, remain fixed to the countenance of your Beloved by the piercing nails of burning encounters that never cease. Then for the first time you can rest with Saint John, who slept on Jesus' breast (John 13:23-25). And this is what they do who serve Love in liberty; they rest on that sweet, wise breast and see and hear hidden words (Job 4:12) —which are ineffable and unheard-of by men— through the sweet whisper of the Holy Spirit. 189. You should always look fixedly on your Beloved whom you desire. For he who gazes on what he desires becomes ardently enkindled, so that his heart within him begins to beat slowly because of the sweet burden of love. And through perseverance in this holy life of contemplation, wherein he continually gazes on God, he is drawn within God. Love ever makes him taste her so sweetly that he forgets everything on earth. Then he is determined that, whatever befalls him at the hand of aliens, he will deny himself nine hundred times rather than neglect to perform one iota of the service of that worthy love of which Christ is the foundation (1 Cor. 3:11).
