coffinshippers im still writing the witch x familiar au right now but what if right after i started a post apocalypse au fic?

peter is the cure/vaccine, but he has to die in order for it to be extracted from his brain. hes lost everyone in the apocalypse, so no one will remember him if hes gone, but after a lengthy debate with the new government, he insists that he'll comply only if hes remembered in history forever, so they assign mark, makeshift counselor, to get peter to talk and record his life history and everything about him so they can go thru and kill him

and it starts off with peter being extremely adverse bc yaknow, talking will eventually kill him (even tho his current existence is hellish) and mark trying to get him to open up, initially only caring about doing his job as this dudes caretaker, but then they eventually grow an actual friendship and later romance and it leads to hoffman questioning the system and whether or not hes really ready to let peter go and peters struggling with opening up to mark because hes getting closer and closer to death

Élysio is such a fascinating character to me!!

Full disclosure that I’ve not read Chroniques de Darkhell yet. I have the first volume but I’m gonna get to it after finishing my reread of the main series! I do feel like it would be neat context for Élysio though.

But yeah… I just love how Élysio is so ENTIRELY separate. How he gets to be his own person and make his own choices. How he gets to make the choice to be Good, over and over, even once he knows. How he commits to killing this representation of what he wanted, to killing his memories and fully severing any tie to who he was... man.

I don't Love his reappearance in vol 9, I guess. I don't hate it, either, but if he was gonna reappear I wish it had fully committed, yaknow? It wrapped up his arc and the loose end from vol 4, but it also felt a bit anti-climatic.

I am personally a big Élysio/Gryf enjoyer too, I won’t lie. I just think their dynamic is ripe for a little tension. I'm also just weak for any character who can get past Gryf's trust issues hehehe

I really wish we'd gotten more interactions between Élysio and Ténébris... I think they'd have a suuuper interesting dynamic, what with The Everything. I mean... this man who's your dad but who's not your dad but who's instead everything he COULD have been?? That's gotta be a little painful. She must have such complicated feelings on him.

Price-wise, im thinking $15 for something sketchy like the first pic, $25 for something more clean and detailed like the second, and $35 for a larger scale piece like the third. Something icon-sized would be around $20. But I might adjust these based on the poll.

(This is a lot less than what i would charge for a normal commission, but I'd rather give more ppl a chance to get some nice art than only do like 1 expensive piece yaknow)

walks in here talk to me about system harry <- system who believes so strongly in system harry

anon we r shaking hands 🤝🤝 system harry makes me have so many feelings he reminds me of how my system works so much.. (aka i am sitting here as the host while the peanut gallery in my mind has a Lot of commentary sdfds)

i dont tend to use system roles for myself but like a LOT of his parts function as protectors (or ‘persecutors’ i guess but i feel like most persecutors are misled protectors YAKNOW), they usually try to protect him in pretty maladaptive ways but they are TRYING .. like electrochemistry trying to ‘help’ harry cope by using substances and sex. half light reads like a trauma holding protector, constantly in fight or flight, desperately trying to protect in his twisted way as well. volition is also pretty clearly reads as a protector, who is often pretty important to keeping the whole system in check (usually.. sometimes they overdo it)

AND LIKE yeah a lot of the parts kind of act as fragments who are mostly fufill one kind of job, like hand eye coordination comes to mind. BUT some of the parts to me read as like deeply complex ppl. like physical instrument is often called coach like he has a name and everything!!!! to me he reads as like a bit of a memory holder of harrys time as a gym teacher.

and ANOTHER note on the complexity is the actual interactions the parts have with each other (the compromised scene around klaasje, and the ‘mr evrart is helping me find my gun’ thing come to mind) they talk and kinda bully each other. suggestion calls volition ‘crownhead’, they can see each other in the headspace mayhap.... 

I DUNNO I DUNNO i could make a whole post talking abt every skill and their role within the system honestly its so interesting to me!! but man the way the system actually presents itself is relatable to me bc like Yeah there is differentiated parts but it is just more convenient to just act like one being, like we dont like to make it clear to other ppl who is talking or acting. i love systems who are very clear about that stuff!! i just dont see a lot of fictional systems who just prefer to act as like one person still, like me! and are really only open abt different parts and their names to a few people. 

i think harry does open up to kim about whos who eventually and while plurality is Not well understood in elysium, kim tries his best to keep up. he takes notes :D he learns to recognize when some parts r speaking !! some of them are easier for him to recognize than others.. the system can relax around kim which probably makes it a bit easier to tell them apart bc they arent actively hiding anything .. auagah i need to keep writing my system harry fic..

it doesn’t doubt itself. It will bullshit its way through “facts” and such, *because it cant check itself.* AI is like that kid on the playground that says the sky shouldn’t be blue because it looks stupid, even though the sky sits there continuing to be blue.

don’t get me wrong, AI is clever. It’s interesting to think about. But for facts and art? No. Absolutely not. As intelligent as it is, it’s still believing everything it says to be true on little to no data.

today in "google AI is fucking useless because it hallucinates things that never happened", i bought a couple CVS thermometers that have both been acting up, tried to search if there had been a problem with the whole product line:

can I ask your honest advices on something personal? so I get next to no communication from a now former friend, I had some hunch to ask a reader if said friend dislikes me and the answer came back as yes so I recently googled if ignoring someone or not reaching out to them via texts can count as them being jealous or having some dislike? yet they still send the bday present and xmas card or present as do I but I feel like its a cheap way when I know she practically lives online but I barely here from her so I dont really know what to do? we havent met in years and she makes next to no effort to seem interested in what im doing even if I try to take interest in herself as a friend it feels very one sided even when we used to meet up it would always be about her and never any follow up questions.

I know she has a disablity of some kind however the effort she puts into her other friends is vastly different. if she messages me its once in a blue moon and only to ask if I want to do a quiz, now I stopped checking my online profiles so much because like it seemed she was much more into what she got from others i dont want to feel desperate by constantly trying to fix whatever this "friendship" was supposed to be. do i ask her or do i wonder about it? if she dont tell me how am i gonna know what to do about it because many ppl been like her even when I was in school I was always dealing with ppl who pretended to care when they didnt. I didnt know any better then so it feels like ppl r just only using me if they need me for that certain point otherwise they fuck off and find "better friends" elsewhere like am i that replaceable or weird?

is this petty of me to want to ignore her back or is it mostly her behaviours towards me? the thing is I have dealt with many ppl like her and it doesnt put her in a good light it gives trying to be nice to my face but for all I know she could be chatting shit with someone about me? and shes quite popular online. hence why it feels like im always bottom of her priorities since always having to instigate a conversation felt like conversing with a brick aka it was going nowhere. Honestly that’s an awful situation to be in. In my opinion, it’s not necessarily jealousy. She just doesn’t like you, point blank period.

Now, I can admit I’m the type who’s on my phone a lot but can sometimes miss people’s messages, and I’m not good with reaching out first. But that’s not a good behavior. And at least if she liked you she’d be interested when you’re talking, which is something I do. And she’d be there for you. And at least she could come around to responding eventually instead of flat out ignoring you and only contacting you when she needs you.

It seems like to me she’s keeping you around so she can have more people clinging to her and chasing her to fuel her ego. It’s more an ego thing than a genuine like. She does not like you. I’d bet she doesn’t even necessarily tolerate you. But she likes your attention.

She likes the experience of being worshipped and chased. Knowing she doesn’t have to try and you will just chase and follow her to the ends of the earth.

Veilguard Spoilers

It adds to the Solas'theme of careful who will betray you for power but damn

After Bellara's heartbreaking explaination on how her brother died because of an artifact she was taking care of, that she was sure she had checked, maybe that it wasnt enough, Bellara who blamed herself for so many years about his death, trying to still exploring like he would have wanted...

Only to meet her brother again in a magical realm. Telling her he never died but actually found a purpose with a great lord he decided to devote himself to to restore the elven empire. And then you see the man in question is Anaris. And then you learn in their rituals to "restore the elven" they made elven friends of Bellara spirits, who ended up fully crazed by the horrifying change, and we had to be killing them without realizing it before that.

And Bellara has this heartbreaking line about Cyrian on "why couldnt you remain a memory"

And Cyrian (the brother) is clearly sound of mind enough to say "this wasnt the plan i didnt sign up for my friends to die", so like, he's not controlled by magic, only false promises, and now Cyrian and Anaris left while we're trying to save two of Bellara's friends from turning.

(Edit: apparently still some magic over how he's made to feel Anaris's feelings and thoughts so that influences him but its not straight up mind control at least)

Because now she has to acknowledge that her grief and her drive has been motivated for a man who then only brought more sorrow by telling her this is what she wants too.

Also i love how when Cyrian says "this is what i wanted. This is what WE wanted" he reaches out for Bellara, getting closer, and Bellara raises her arms with an hesitant, still shocked step backward, so without a word Rook forces herself between the two of them and pushes Bellara a bit behind her while keeping her hand up so Cyrian doesn't approach. And Bellara welcomes it as she does walk behind Rook the time to get her emotions back in order

And I love that, i love the subtle protectiveness coming from Rook.

But anyway it adds to the thing Epler talked about in term of phtting Bellara as an optimistic foil to Solas. Bc i think it's meant to parallel how Solas did all sort of things for Mythal, only to see in the end that she wanted to work against his interests. How do you reconcile this figure that drove you all your life with the disregard they give you when you realize they're here again, yaknow

Anyway its fucking heartbreaking and im feeling so bad for Bellara

kept thinking about the fallout show au, time to time...

Might as well share all of the information and drawings so far! Kinda. I did start a traditional comic but never finished it, so it won't be shared here..

Minor gore and spoilers for the show, specifically vault 4's experiment.

Timeline wise, definitely takes place after season 1! They're both young adults, like 25s or smth.

FO!Will is a seemingly perfect hybrid of axolotl and human(gulper), raised by scientists, and has more of an animalistic behaviour, although that is often suppressed or hidden from the other people in the vault. He does not participate with the cult, it just isn't interesting to him.

He is very valuable to the scientists, so he wasn't allowed to take care of anyone who falls into the vault, until one faithful day...

FO!Red was taken under BOS's care when they were a teenager, and wanted to find out what actually happened to their parents. Father was still nowhere to be seen, but Mother became a raider who's referred to as "Consequence."

They lost their right hand's pinkie due to a trap, but ey just get a random detached pinkie and sew it back on.

Before Red fell into vault 4, they were attacked by their own mother. Choked with the necklace, it eventually broke, so yaknow, got stabbed too.

Now about their relationship in this au... god. Okay.

Red develops a crush on Will, and they weren't really sure about how to feel or do about it. Especially when Will is constantly checking on him and doesn't understand the definition of personal space sometimes.

Eventually, as they get closer and understand each other more, when Red confesses to Will, he was very surprised as he never had anyone confess to him before but accepts it because, well... He has feelings for them, too.

Maybe he's been taking the slowest route with taking care of Red's wounds to keep them here as long as possible.

I even wrote a poem about them..

With the bloodshed

And the fools

Stealing from the dead

With a hole in arm

Not wishing ill

Maybe not all are the same

Maybe they have a better life up

Maybe I shouldn’t play this game

And we can have a close-up

Our noses touching

Whispering the favorite words

Maybe the surface isn’t so cruel.
