I've just watched Les Légendaries and I absolutely love the ship dynamic of these two!

A chubby nerd boy once became an evil jock henchman under the name of his childhood idol, but enters the story as a chubby nerd hero who changed his path and ended his romantic relationship with the villain's goth daughter in favor of personal growth and restoring his good name.

The Snow-White-beautiful goth daughter of the main villain once fell in love with her father's hunky henchman, but did not stop loving him even when he betrayed them and became a chubby nerd hero, and since she is not a yandere, she has to amend the villainous plans in such a way as to get her lover back or at least keep him alive.

Boy, this is just so perfect I can't even. 🤧💖

i just finished an adventure of ten years

dude i just bought and read the 23rd (and last) book of my childhood favorite series, and i’m

i don’t know what i’m feeling right now. like, there are spin-offs being published, a whole series of comedic side-stories and a prequel that is supposed to be BEFORE the last prequel. 

it’s been ten years. i’ve been following these idiots in their misadventures for ten years. the whole universe around them is nowhere near finished, there is so much still going on, but it really feels like the end of an era, you know ?

anyway, it was amazing. beloved characters came back for a final cameo. references have been made. everyone’s redemption arc has been completed.

if you’re fluent in french, please, please read “Les Légendaires”. this series deserves so much love.

would love to hear your thoughts on élysio! i check the légendaires tag every once in a while and it's usually crickets so to find all the posts you made about it recently was super exciting. the brainrot is real lmao

Élysio is such a fascinating character to me!!

Full disclosure that I’ve not read Chroniques de Darkhell yet. I have the first volume but I’m gonna get to it after finishing my reread of the main series! I do feel like it would be neat context for Élysio though.

But yeah… I just love how Élysio is so ENTIRELY separate. How he gets to be his own person and make his own choices. How he gets to make the choice to be Good, over and over, even once he knows. How he commits to killing this representation of what he wanted, to killing his memories and fully severing any tie to who he was... man.

I don't Love his reappearance in vol 9, I guess. I don't hate it, either, but if he was gonna reappear I wish it had fully committed, yaknow? It wrapped up his arc and the loose end from vol 4, but it also felt a bit anti-climatic.

I am personally a big Élysio/Gryf enjoyer too, I won’t lie. I just think their dynamic is ripe for a little tension. I'm also just weak for any character who can get past Gryf's trust issues hehehe

I really wish we'd gotten more interactions between Élysio and Ténébris... I think they'd have a suuuper interesting dynamic, what with The Everything. I mean... this man who's your dad but who's not your dad but who's instead everything he COULD have been?? That's gotta be a little painful. She must have such complicated feelings on him.
