It started with a duck. But the duck started with the box. And the box started with a toothbrush joke. And the toothbrush joke started with your old lady neighbor moving out. So really, it started with Mrs. McDonnell and her massive moving van rolling down the street and leaving the flat next door empty. Somehow that old hag had managed to irritate you long after she left, albeit through means not her own.
In terms of time, it started a month ago. In terms of people (sans the old bitch), it started with Carlos, as so many of your stories do. “Mrs. McDonald finally moved out today,” he’d said, hip against your stove, watching bits of garlic turn from pale to brown. From the living room you hummed affirmation and then laughed: “McDonnell.”
“Donald, Donnell, Dinero,” he rolled his eyes. “Everyone’s moving in and out. Charles bought a new place in Monaco.”
“Well,” you shrugged, fixing the ridden-up hem of your tank top, “you could have an extra toothbrush in here, if that gets y’there.”
He laughed, pointing at you with the oil-hot rubber tip of the spatula. You two had been dating for over a year at that point, yet any suggestions of moving in together remained vague, cloudish ideas in both of your heads. For him it was impractical; for you it was a little scary.
But a toothbrush, which he always had at your flat and you at his, wasn’t moving in together. Neither was a drawer of clothes and knick-knacks. It was a symbol of your busy lives and the intermittent intersections far and few between.
Except they’d been becoming less intermittent and a lot more constant. He was almost always at your flat, the wide two-bedroom you’d decided was a good place to live with your income and the area. You had two parking spaces, a good rep with the board, and a coffee shop across the street—a place all your own.
A little plus was you had Carlos on some free days, like that day—that fateful day he turned back to the pan and said, with a smile: “I should move in.”
You froze. “You’re asking—you’re telling me or the garlic?” In fits of nerves, you could only blurt out bad jokes.
He laughed but it was a small exhale of breath. “I’m serious.” He turned to you, brown eyes big.
Your heart swelled with something between apprehension and absolute excitement, that finally you were going to take a step you felt like you’d been waiting to take forever. “You are?” You asked, so giddily you could hear your own smile.
The truth was, you had moved in with a boyfriend before, offered him a key and suggested the entire affair, bought fresh flowers and cooked eggs and made coffee and lived the bliss you only read about in romance novels. Months later you caught him fucking somebody else in your bedroom, and years later the memory fails to purge itself from your mind or your habits, plaguing every inner thought you have.
But this, you assure yourself, is Carlos.
“Dead seriou—uuooof!” Carlos barely got to the end of his sentence, with the way you barrelled into him, smiling into the blocky build of his chest and muttering a repetitive yes yes yes into the cotton of his tee. He held you there, pressing a kiss to your hair and promising he’d be in with his boxes as soon as time made way.
—
“Make way,” you yell into the tiny gap between your door and its frame.
“Hey, hi, hello,” your boyfriend sing-songs. “How are you?”
In the month you’d spent watching your boyfriend move into your flat, you’d also been subjected to your complete lack of personal space. Every time you entered, he’d be there talking his head off. Every time you came home at night, he’d be there. You felt suffocated. Scared, even if you couldn’t sleep at night without some part of you touching him. You’re simply a human with needs, and you needed space. You needed silence. Needed it. Absolutely needed it. You knew this because every time you opened your own door, it collided with a—
“Box.” You shove yourself through the gap and wedge the door closed, pointing an accusatory finger at the cardboard. “Another box by the door. Don’t make me burn those,” you mutter, fussing with your hair and toeing off your Blahniks. Across the foyer, Carlos is nailing something into the wall, noisy and incessant and you want to shrink into the floor.
“Sorry, sorry. Lo siento. I have so many stuff.”
“Yeah! You do. My flat’s only nay fucking big,” you respond, raising your pointer finger and thumb to exaggerate the size of your (in actuality, wide) living space. “Carlos, couldn’t you unpack some of these? Just some. It’s—you know, it’s piling up. And you know I hate mess.”
“I know, baby. I will as soon as I finish this up. I promise.”
You nod once, sighing and moving into the study to gather your laptop for work. You’re halfway into the room, eyes scanning your desk’s surface and finding your Mac laying flat atop it, unassuming next to a figurine of a wooden duck. You pause and blink. The wooden duck does not, its eyes painted wide and smooth and you definitely did not purchase this duck.
Somehow, this is the straw that breaks your back.
“What is this duck doing here?!” You yell, voice loud even from the study into the foyer. Carlos pulls off the goggles he’d been wearing to drill shit into your wall and smiles. A gift from me.
“A gif—I, I, I don’t like ducks.” You flail your arms around. “I just… hearing you talk or drill as soon as I come into my own home feels weird. For so long I’ve been alone and… and I’m supposed to hear silence and I—I’m scared that you’re going to figure out how scared I am and you’re going to leave me.”
He just stares, eyebrows knitted. You smother a hand over your face. You pause and breathe for a minute, then two.
“It’s just—I’ve only lived with someone three months, and that was ages ago, and before that it was my parents, so. I’m going to be really frank with you and I’m sorry if this sounds… but I’m gonna close the bedroom door and I don’t want you to talk to me for thirty minutes. I need space. And keep the duck first. I’m sorry. Is that selfish? Is that okay?” When he shakes his head and then nods, you deposit it into his arms and back up into your room.
His face, torn between concerned and endeared, softens into an understanding, patient smile. Okay, he mouths. I love you, you mouth back, and then you’re shutting it softly, leaning your forehead against the white wood and letting a long exhale leave your lips. You half-expected him to fight you back, to raise his voice, but it’s your own worst expectations weighing down on you all over again, born out of memories of your ex.
You stay like that for a while, and slowly with the quiet you realize—you find the duck cute.
You like the boxes because they remind you this is becoming a home. You like hearing him talk because it means you know he’s there. (The drilling will always be irritating, but he makes it better.) You don’t dislike anything he does, but you’re not totally lying either: you are scared. Scared of the commitment it’d take to make this a sure thing. The commitment you’d given before and the commitment that’d been betrayed.
But this is Carlos. This is Carlos, who’s understood every part of you, who’s given you time and patience even when you didn’t know how much you needed it. The Carlos who knows how you like your toast, who eats the yolk off your sunny-side eggs and gives you the white of his hard-boiled ones. The Carlos who said I love you first, surprising you into shock, and then took it back in embarrassment before you cut him off with a kiss. The Carlos who stays.
The air clears and you breathe easier. You open the door after five minutes. “You okay?”
He’s unpacking a box. He turns and smiles wryly, mimicking a zip motion across his lips. He shakes his head. No talking, remember?
You pout, smiling. “Sorry if I’m neurotic.”
You pad softly toward him and it’s easy, too easy for him to pick you up into his arms, wrap your legs around his waist, stay standing and hugging you. He’s quiet still, patient, warm. “I like hearing you talk. I like your boxes. I like that you’re mine and we’re here.” You inhale. “‘M just scared. And I don’t… want to be, but I am, and… it’s just me. I’m crazy.”
“Hey, Crazy. So am I. Take your time.” He hugs you tighter. “I’m not gonna leave you, even if you hated the duck.” I didn’t, you say quietly. It was cute. “I know it’s hard, baby. I know. You have to let me take care of you. You have me, okay? You have me.”
“And when you’re not here?” Fear slithers up and tries to tug at you but his arms are around you, secure and holding you there, so you don’t let it.
The thing with needs, really, is when they’re met—met in the best, most understanding way, especially…
He kisses your neck. “I’ll always be.”
…You find you no longer need them at all.

Rights of Property Donald Grinde, Jr., professor of American Indian Studies and chair of the Department of American Studies at SUNY Buffalo, recounted this story in a 2002 interview with the journal Spirit of Ma’at:
Elizabeth Cady Stanton describes how, as a young girl on an Iroquois reservation — she was twelve or thirteen — she saw a man come up, and the mother of her Indian playmate went outside and talked to this man for a half hour or more. Then he handed her some money, they went to the barn and took a horse out, and he rode off on the horse.
Stanton asked the mother what had happened, and the woman said, “Well, I sold the man one of my horses. We negotiated the price, and then he gave me the money, and then he left with the horse.”
Elizabeth Cady Stanton said, “What will your husband say when he gets home?”
The woman said, “Well, it was my horse, and I can do with it as I please.”
For a young Euro-American woman, it was quite a revelation that this was possible, that a woman could behave in this way, holding property and disposing of it without the approval of a husband or father.
#I'm Wampanoag but the principal applies#I live in a different universe than some of these women I think

Weak Hero - Superpower/Magic AU
I wanted to imagine some of the Weak Hero characters with superpowers/magic! My first instinct was actually more like "super strength for Ben, etc" but then I thought to myself, "ok but Ben already has super strength, more or less". So I deliberately picked broader, more fantasy-esque powers, rather than something specific that's based off of what the character can already do. I just think it's really interesting to imagine if these characters had magical abilities in addition to—that complement—their existing fighting styles.
Gray Yeon - Illusion Creation
(insp. Tanizaki Jun'ichirou from Bungou Stray Dogs)
Gray would be an absolute beast with an illusion ability. I think it would play off of his unassuming appearance as well— illusionists are often underestimated in a fight, because they rely on trickery to win. Both the ability to conceal his location, and mentally intimidate his opponent would be at Gray's disposal. He can hide in plain sight, create clones of himself, and conjure terrifying imagery.
Ben Park - Earth Manipulation
(insp. Earthbenders from Avatar)
Ben is already associated with a lot of earthy motifs in the series, I think it would make sense for him to have the ability to pelt people with actual boulders, not just his fists that feel like boulders :). Moreover, he'd be able to defend his own body using rock walls, or upset his opponent(s) footing by shaking the ground beneath their feet. Also, it fits his personality too, he's straightforward/blunt, headstrong, maybe a little dumb as a rock, and he is also someone that other people relies on.
Gerard Jin - Plant Manipulation
(insp. Warrod Sequen from Fairy Tail)
This one is a bit obvious, maybe, but I do think it would be really cool. I think Gerard would be able to grow vines/branches to restrict his opponent's movement, as well as boost his own mobility. Also Gerard strikes me as a bit of a green thumb as well. I think this power would also suit him in the aspect that it's less combat-oriented/aggressive compared to the others. Gerard spends more of his time on his hobbies, than he does getting into fistfights, and the plant theme reflects that, Gerard with a lil' flower garden.
Jake Ji - Electricity Manipulation
(insp. Killua Zoldyck from Hunter x Hunter)
I honestly made this post just so I could share my "Jake with lightning magic" agenda. Particularly, with the added benefit of giving himself superspeed + reflexes, and just generally throwing thunderbolts around? I just think Jake would look really cool with this power, and it would complement his fighting style really well. It's fast and efficient, and maybe a little bit on the flashy side as well, which suits Jake as a person too.
Wolf Keum - Fire Manipulation
(insp. Suoh Mikoto from K-Project)
Initially, I had brainstormed Wolf as an unconventional healer, who uses his magic to heal his own injuries. Then, I thought that's pretty uninteresting, because he already kinda fights as if his injuries don't exist, and I wanted to pick something cool. Pyrokinesis is kinda self explanatory, and there's not much you can do with it in terms of using it creatively (as opposed to say, earth magic for defense, or lightning magic for superspeed). It's literally point, shoot, destroy— which is perfect for Wolf. Also it suits his personality: he's got a short, volatile temper, and a violent streak. Also I really wanted to make that Suoh Mikoto comparison.
Donald Na - Shadow Manipulation
(insp. Pride/Selim from Fullmetal Alchemist)
Donald being able to use darkness as a weapon is absolutely terrifying. I imagine him with tendrils of shadow that just creep out of nowhere and can choke the target, or stab/slice the target, or just be used to restrict an opponent's movement. Darkness manipulation is a super versatile power and I think Donald could make the most out of it. It also works perfectly with Donald being weak to bright light.

Just recently stumbled upon your artwork and I'm in utter awe at your talent. Do you plan on doing a portrait where all the kids are all grown up? as well as older snowbaird? I'm intrigued on how you would approach older coryo since you said mads was a good inspo for his older years
Thank u! A family portrait of the grown up kids w older cslg sounds fun I'd definitely try. Do u mean how I would draw him or how I'd characterize him 🤔 I'd only base middle-aged-cs physically on Mads, but most of my insp for older snow would be on Donald Sutherland's portrayal of him personality wise. I don't think cs's personality/morals/ethics change much once he goes back to the capitol so my idea of cs is pretty much what we have from the movies

the thing about donald goofy and sora in my kh designs is that travelling to so many different worlds would have them pick up a LOT of style elements but also strip them down in a way where its easier for them to access some of their historical or concept designs compared to where they are now, or even pull from veryv vintage stuff that they might not even have a direct connection to (like sora's toon design taking insp from tezuka anime) so while nomura's style remains sora's base its likely he donald and goofy will have a Lot going on that their material will have to kind of contend with and try to stablize. mickey probably feels normal about this. as mentioned before this will impact a lot of characters pretty differently, like i think kairi would have literal breakdowns of her model and become less animatable because of the time she spent without her heart. like a super smash bros statue in the story mode
#mickey for his part can definitely choose his design#kh#i think mickey would try to look actively different from capital m mickey mouse most of the time when away from the castle

"Don Edwards Given 7 Years On Old Charge," Ottawa Citizen. October 7, 1943. Page 1 & 12. --- Final Chapter in Armed Robbery of Richmond Bank Written in Court Today. ---- The final chapter in the story of the Richmond bank robbery of 1938 was written in county magistrate's court this morning when Donald Edwards, third man of the trio of desperadoes who held up the Bank of Nova Scotia branch in that village on July 19. 1938. was sentenced to seven years in penitentiary by Magistrate A. H. Lieff.
Edwards' two companions in the crime which stirred the country- side at the time, Oscar Campbell and his brother, Mel, were apprehended shortly after the robbery. Oscar was given 12 years and Mel nine years in prison. The trio took $12,478.96 and a number of bonds and securities at the point of revolvers and a sawed-off shotgun.
Pleads Guilty Edwards today elected trial by magistrate and pleaded guilty to the charge. C. B. Lewis, manager of the bank branch in Richmond. related the details of the robbery and pointed out Edwards as the man who wore green sun glasses and covered the teller with a геvolver in front of his cage while the two other thugs gathered up the money.
Inspector George Mackay, of the Ontario Provincial Police, C.L.B. branch, told court about his travels to Oregon state last June to pick up Edwards, who was working as a mechanical engineer with the Oregon City Foundry. After extradition proceedings, Edwards was turned over to him in August and was brought back to Ottawa.
Donald Edwards, now 40 years of age, a citizen of the United States, is a well dressed, keen-looking man, well spoken and obviously well educated.
A tragic note was introduced into the proceedings today when he told the court he had a son, 19 years of age, serving, with the United States Marines in the South Pacific, and who has recently been wounded. To substantiate this information, he produced a large tear-sheet from an Erie county newspaper, showing a half-page cut of a young wounded American soldier being attended by two medical men in the jungles of the South Pacific.
The prostrate figure in the picture was identified as young Edwards, son of the convicted bank robber.
"It is a pity, a tragedy, to see talent like yours go to waste," said Magistrate Lieff in imposing sentence. He said he would give the accused some reward for the fair manner in which he had aided the police in the case, and also for the obvious and sincere attempt Edwards had made to rehabilitate himself into society. While working in Oregon, Edwards was supporting his wife and family.
At the time, said Inspector Mackay, Edwards freely admitted his participation in the robbery, and gave him a signed statement covering all angles. He said in the statement that he did not know the Campbells were going to rob the bank until about two minutes before they drew up in their car in front of its door.
Threatened by Campbell. Oscar Campbell then, related the accused, shoved a revolver into his hand and told him to go into the bank with him, that he was going to "take it." At one time. while the two Campbells and Edwards were living in an apartment on Laurier avenue here prior to the robbery, Edwards said he wanted to leave, but Oscar smashed him in the face, breaking his nose, and threatened him with a gun, forcing him to stay with them.
It was while serving time in Erie county jail, New York, that Edwards met Oscar Campbell, who arranged with him to escape. This was late in 1937. When apprehended in Oregon city, Insp. Mackay said, Edwards was a valued employe of the foundry there, and was one of the highest paid on the staff. He had been employed about 18 months. In 1939 he was sentenced in Oregon to four years for converting money to his own use, and while in prison he was in charge of the machine shop.
Intends to Reimburse Bank. During this time he invented a flax processing machine, which has been patented, and which Edwards expects will ultimately pay him rich rewards. He indicated in court that he intended to reimburse the bank from the proceeds of his invention.
Lionel Choquette appeared for Edwards, while the prosecution was conducted by Crown Attorney Raoul Mercier, K.C.
[AL: Edwards was convict #7445 at Kingston Penitentiary, and worked in the machine shop. Like the Campbells before him, he was shipped in March 1944 to Saskatchewan Penitentiary, becoming convict #4300, and deported in 1949.]

‘ i missed this. ’ Della Duck cousins
Insp. Credit goes to @hey-erika and her wonderful piece of Duck cousin fanart
.o0o.
"C'mon Cousin Donnie! I wanna see the guiatar!" Fethry pushed against his cousin's stubborn palm.
"You'll probably just break it," Donald huffily blew his edgy bangs out of his eyes.
"Oh c'mon Donald, what harm can Fethry actually do?" Della rolled her eyes alongside Gladstone as they sat on a nearby swinging bench.
"Hey! I can throw some punches," Fethry put his hands on his hips and huffed. It would have been threatening had he not been wearing his giant oversized winter sweater and hat, despite the fact it was mid june.
"Not like D-squared and Dumbella can Feth," Gladstone said as he sipped lemonade. Della laughed.
"Well yeahhhh," Fethry blushed and buried himself in his sweater.
"Hey, don't beat yourself up over that. You have other things to work with," Della got up from the seat and punched him lightly on the shoulder as Donald went over to his own spot on the grass to tweak with his guitar and semi sulking to himself as well.
"Really?" Fethry beamed at his female cousin.
"Of course! You got lots of things for your advantage! Like..." she snapped her fingers, trying to think.
"You're more likable than Gladstone," Donald snarked.
"And more understandable than Donald," Gladstone stuck his tongue out. Della and Fethry laughed.
"You're also able to crawl through holes me, Gladstone, and grumpy can't crawl through. Plus, you're much cuter and Grandma lets you get away with anything," Della added, and made even Donald laugh and nod in agreement.
"I am cute!" He acknowledged.
"Oh please, you'll fill his head with air," Gladstone joked.
"Can't be any more than yours," Donald crossed his arms and Gladstone threw one of the pillows from the seat to hit Donald square in the face. Donald scowled playfully and got up and began to chase Gladstone in circles, round and round while Della and Fethry cheered both of them on.
"Do you think he'll catch him?" Fethry asked.
"With Donald's luck? Never," she chuckled.
"So why does Gladstone allow him to in the first place?" Fethry asked genuinely.
"I think they just find it fun to hate each other. Such opposites make it feel natural," Della shrugged, placing a hand on the red cousin and watching Gladstone scramble up a tree just for Donald to run right into it with a thud.
"You'll get him next time Don!" Fethry shouted.
"Next time," he growled as he rubbed his head.
"Next time..." Della said solemnly. A hush fell over the cousins as they came to a realization.
This would be the last time in a long time.
Donald and Della were moving in with Uncle Scrooge, Fethry with Elvira, and Gladstone with Mathilda in Scotland.
They wouldn't see each other for a very, very long time.
"Yeah," Gladstone swung himself down safely. "Next time." He offered his hand and helped Donald up. He took it with a huff.
Donald and Gladstone slowly walked back to the other two and none of the cousins really spoke for a bit since the mood felt quite killed.
"W-well," Fethry cleared his throat, "We may not know when that may be... but let's just be happy and confident in our next time, ey?" He gave a weak crooked smile.
"Yeah! Fethry's right. Today is a day of fun. Let's enjoy it cuz it's all we'll have to savor til next time," Della agreed. Gladstone smiled and nodded.
"Alright!" Gladstone put his hand in the middle, Della and Fethry copping his motion. They all turned to Donald.
"Alright, fine. Even I can't say no to that," he reluctantly smiled and put his hand in the middle.
"One, two, three, DUCK COUSINS!" The jids shouted and lifted their hands into the air.
"WOO! Now let's go have some fun!" Della shouted and ran off, the rest of them running after laughing all the way.
.o0o.
Donald and Della sat together outside McDuck manor on the rim of the cement circle that surrounded the giant gold sign Scrooge kept in his parking area. The kids were off running around somewhere and it felt kinda good to get a break from people asking them questions and for them to just... be next to each other. Things were starting to settle down and the general public, superheroes and news reporters had all left so there was some peace in that too. However they weren't alone for too long as two familiar faces came and approached them.
"Heyo Dumbella. I don't believe we ever got a proper reunion," Gladstone grinned.
"Ah! You're so right! Its been so long!" Della got up and gave the lucky duck a strong hug. Fethry grinned at Donald and he rolled his eyes and gave Fethry one too, before they switched (except Donald and Gladstone didn't hug, they just nodded at each other and chuckled a bit to themselves).
"So what've you been doing for all these years? And what's the thing with the giant krill?" Della asked Fethry.
"I became a scientist! After being Uncle Scrooge's keeper for his underwater facility, Huey convinced me I should pursue the path of science! It is quite fascinating!" He beamed.
"Still energetic as ever I see," Della snickered.
"Oh yes! Being mostly alone under extreme water pressure for years is not good for the brain," his grinned widened and Donald scratched the back of his neck and gave a short nervous laugh. Della shot him a quickly look before moving on.
"I'm sure everyone else missed you too. I know I missed you guys, little cousins," she noggied both of them.
"Hey!" Gladstone freed himself, "last I checked I'm your age," he put his hands on his hips.
"Older by a month!" Della stuck her tongue out. Donald laughed.
"Take that," he mocked. Gladstone rolled his eyes.
"Yeah yeah, tell me that when you miraculously find twenty dollars and don't end up arrested cuz of it," Gladstone sneered. Donald scowled back. Della and Fethry laughed.
"I missed this... a lot," Fethry admitted, though mostly to himself. Della nodded along.
"I... I missed this too," Della felt her eyes begin to water but she laughed it off, but the other cousins noticed and started to feel their eyes water too.
"Della, don't you dare get me started," Donald pointed a finger, wiping his eyes with his sleeve and fighting laughter.
"Yeah, once you cry you know we all cry," Gladstone kept hiding his chuckle too but soon they all gave in and started crying tears of joy and hugging each other.
"I really, really missed this," Della cried.
"We all did cousin Della," Fethry bobbed his head.
"We all did."

basically she's my little figure skater and she's been on the ice ever since she was a tiny wee one, alongside her older sister hannah. and she and hannah were always super super close bc there was only two years between them so they were each other's best friends. or it was more like hannah was keira's best friend and while keira was also hannah's and hannah loved her to bits, hannah also had other friends? anyway, they were both skating daft wehn they were growing up but hannah went on to join an ice hockey team and the contrast is important bc keira stuck to figure skating which is very much like, a lone sport? and hannah worked way better in a team bc she was so outgoing and friendly so keira hid behind her a lot and only made friends through hannah and she didn't really know how to make decisions without hannah's help and her parents sorta tried to discourage that but she's quite shy so they sort of let her be and figured she would come out of her shell in her own time. but anyway one day during winter, she and hannah went skating on a lake and the ice was really thin? and hannah fell through and like, keira couldn't help her back up so she passed away :( fckn traumatic i know. and keira was a total ghost after it and stuff and like, wouldn't talk to anyone and didn't want to go back to skating and her parents were distraught as well and sent her to therapy and bc she was never one to argue back, she went and it did sorta help and it's been four years now so she /has/ recovered a little? and a little anecdote is that hannah had a boyfriend named josh and he sorta helped as well bc he and keira were both going through the same grief bc they were the two people who loved hannah most, and idk he's an npc in my head but they have the nicest like platonic brother/sister relationship bc he bought her a dog to help her through the grieving process and the pup's name is olaf :D and yeah this is where we get frozen themed~ and steer away from the tragic hiro/tadashi storyline. keira's now a figure skater for disney on ice and she was cast as anna which is a big fucking deal for her bc wow!! everyone loves princess anna!! but it's also hard for her as well bc frozen is about the love between two sisters and having to learn the ins and outs of the movie and perform against an elsa just makes her miss hannah all the more? but yeah she just hopes she can do it justice. and bc hannah isn't around anymore she's slowly realising that she can't just stay lonely anymore and that she needs to make friends who aren't josh and so she's throwing herself literally headfirst into things like she doesn't have a roommate yet but when she does get one it's bc she'll have answered the first 'wanted roommate' ad thing that she saw and so she's really trying to put herself out there and try things she was scared to before by meeting new people even if she does get a bit unnerved sometimes? bc she still slips up and sort of looks for hannah to guide her and panics when she remembers hannah isn't there anymore but she's!! working on it!! and I BELIEVE IN HER.
owen kinney:
first up we have owen who is a wee bit of a lad's lad and likes bar hopping and getting pissed and stuff. he's a construction worker and just sort of always figured that's what he was destined to do bc he never did well in school and so he just thought 'i'll follow in my dad's footsteps' and joined the same construction company his pa works for. but the thing is it's kinda a corrupt company that skips paychecks and overworks its employees and owen's dad is in really bad health bc of it and owen is sooooo fucking hotheaded like, almost as bad as wardo so he's been suspended for mouthing off more times than he can count and the only reason he hasn't been fired is bc it's hard to find someone who'll work in the same conditions he and his dad and the other guys do? and they're not well off at all and he has hayley, his sister, to think of as well bc she needs a bit of protection because she's in ill mental health? so when his dad's joints are sore and he gets sick owen takes his shifts as well and he does tend to overwork himself a bit and his main outlet is sex? he sleeps around a TON, both guys and girls, and he doesn't really think there'sany responsibility tethered to one night stands so long as they're safe and use protection and stuff? so when people call him up the next again day for ditching them after he's done he's just like 'you knew it was a fling, stop chasing me up?' bc he isn't looking for commitment or anything long term? and that's like, basically it for him so far but even though he's kinda half-baked i'm actually super fond of him asdfghjkl
donald henshaw:
THEN THERE'S DONALD AKA MR GRUMPY GRUMP GRUMP. he's english and was previously married but he hates his wife now so THAT'S FUN. basically she cheated on him and then fell pregnant and so it was always dubious like, who the baby's father was but the kiddo looks like donald so it's fair to say he's the dad, but the baby is being raised with the guy donald's wife left him for? and this put donald in a super bad and bitter place and he uses alchol and smoking as a vice and stuff but on top of that he's a screenwriter. and so when that went down, he wrote this really dark comedy script where he based one of the characters on his wife. and it was like a fairly decent film and stuff and di really well with critics and stuff even though it was lowkey misogynistic bc donald is a bitter fuck but like... ngl it's justified bc i hate his wife. so yeah it clicked with her that the movie was about her and she tried to sue donald and everything for defamation of character and stuff but there was no proof that she could prove it was about her unless she took a DNA test for the baby and she refused to do that (BC THE KID IS SO OBVIOUSLY DONALD'S) and oh yeah his wife is an actress i forgot that part, so it basically means that even though he's still in the movie industry as a screenwriter, he genuinely hates actors and actresses a bit bc he thinks they're too up their own arses, esp now he's on a warning and is being pressured to write 'happier' material, so i'm thinking that maybe he gets lumped in to help write the script for cinderella? and that's sooooo not his scene lmao. and yeah he came out to his wife when they were dating and told her he was bisexual but she forced him to repress it because she wasn't homophobic outwardly, like she's one of those 'YAY FOR SAME SEX MARRIAGE' people but she believes in all the stigmas surrounding bi people like they're liable to cheat and stuff EVEN THOUGH WOW HYPOCRITICAL MUCH? so yeah she's biphobic and donald never got to be his best bi self so overall he's a big old bitter british bisexual package of pure and utter GRUMP.
josh atlas:
josh is still building up for me but what i know is that he comes from a bit of a 'superstar' family so i really am pushing the whole 'son, you're throwing away your dream' 'no dad, i'm throwing away yours' trope, but at the same time hockey is josh's dream and all he wants to do is win the stanley cup and stuff. so yeah growing up he was always going off to hockey camps and joining peewee hockey and stuff and his dad really pushed him to do well and win games and stuff and do extra training sessions and it was all super rigorous and testing for him but he was happy to do it? and he met hannah at a hockey camp and they became best friends and obviously he totally fell for her and she was just the best girl in his eyes and the bishops totally aodred him as well bc they were such a supporting and loving family and he didn't know what that was like bc if they all went to one of keir'a figure skating competitions and she only got like, fourth place then her family would still congrtulate her for getting that far whereas his dad would show how disappointed he was if josh did anything less than get first place. but he still kept it together bc he had hannah AND ROSE WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT THESE TWO MORE :) but when hannah died everything got topsy tuvy for him and stuff and his game was gone and his dad was super unsympathetic and kept being faux supportive by telling him that getting back into playing would help him get over hannah but IT DIDN'T BITCH. so he's on anti-depressants and stuff and missed getting drafted into the NHL which is a biiiiiig fucking deal. so his dad was mad at him for missing that and when josh realised how much keira was suffering he pretended to be okay for her sake and so he went back to a strict training regime and the anti-depressants did help, and now he's been drafted for the new york rangers and his dad won't stop bragging about it. thing is, the tablets he takes thin his blood and stuff so when he does get a hockey injury he bleeds for so long and i just have this image of rose being on standby to help clean him up :')

Our first Winter/Holiday candle is Toy Tinkers, inspired by the 1949 cartoon short of the same name featuring Donald Duck and Chip & Dale. Donald Duck is a favorite of ours and thinking back on holiday stuff we remembered as kids, this cartoon was something we wanted to make a candle inspired by! The scent is a mixture of orange peel, clove, and cinnamon. (It reminds Heather of an old Christmas shop if anyone knows what she’s talking about, hehe.)
NOTE: This is a scent that will only be available now until the end of the year! It will return next November/December though!
This candle is an 8oz. glass jelly jar with a pewter daisy cut lid and has a cotton/paper wick. All of our candles are made with 100% natural soy wax, are handmade and are poured in very small batches. You can find Toy Tinkers and others over at AROMAPARODY.TICTAIL.COM!
( We’re sorry that isn’t a direct link but apparently when you have links in your posts then none of the tags work. :\ )

Instead of getting story progress, you will have backstory exposition in the next update.
And yeah you won’t see the mummified remains of the dead human children. Maybe glimpses, but still no.
