circumstantially, noel & dorothy have a lot in common

took the witch's heart from a dead/dying person after realizing they could not be saved

person was dead/dying because of nicholas trying to get the witch's heart

took the heart to keep nicholas from getting it and making some nasty wish

took the witch's heart from claire's at the time caretaker

held onto the heart for a while after getting it until a situation arose that it could be used to protect claire

made a wish to protect claire

became the "monster" associated with the mansion (dorothy figuratively, by threatening everyone in her dying moments instead of defending herself from the murder accusations, noel literally by being an Actual Monster that scares people away)

despite this reputation, never actually intended to hurt anyone, just scare them

did this in order to protect sirius

it's so interesting that noel basically, in a way, followed in dorothy's footsteps and did to her exactly what dorothy had done to fiona--and his motivations were basically the exact same as what dorothy's were: keep claire and sirius safe.

it's also so interesting, that, with all this considered, ashe would connect "the monster" as being one in the same as dorothy. i mean... ashe didn't have any of this information, so he was just throwing out theories he thought might be plausible, so it doesn't really mean much, but it's very interesting. the are both the mansion's "monster" with the same motives. so connecting the two as one in the same... kind of makes sense. even though sirius had been offended by the notion (and understandably so), it's actually... really interesting that noel ended up doing a lot of the same things that dorothy did. i just think about that a lot.

in celebration of the finale: my top 5 moments from each only friends character so far

*top moments here means moments that had me pointing and screaming at my laptop like the leo meme*

we did top, mew, boston, and nick, next up: ray

now ray is my favourite character, hes my guy, hes my begrudging blurred reflection so its really hard to narrow down his moments to 5 because there are the times hes so cute and i smile when hes on my screen and the times he says things that were written to destroy me personally and times i want to strangle him for being a little bitch because i get it but also he is a little bitch. but anyway, maybe ill do a different one just for moments that destroyed me and focus on lighter ones here

5. "if you're my friend you'll have to take care of me in every way"

ray was upfront about what the sandray dynamic would be from the beginning there was no pretending it would be anything else lmao. as an enjoyer of "fucked up character who thinks theyre unlovable meets character who is predestined to love and care for them in ways they couldn't imagine", i was immidiately hooked. like a goner. i knew at this moment they would destroy me and i was right. (also if this was a top sandray moments list that cigarette kiss would be number 1, i watched it 7 times in a row last night, altered my brain chemistry again)

4. making sand undress him in the dressing room

the way he just stands there with his hands in the air smiling, fantastic. 10/10 little prince moment

3. let me sleep hereeeeeeeee

the way he barges into the camper in the middle of the night, inserts himself between sand and nick, fights off sand trying to push him off the bed, just to lay down in his spot and wrapping himself around sand. the little "good night nick". perfect. makes me kick my feet and giggle every time

great ongoing bit, one that we havent seen as much recently but still very important to me. just pathetic and annoying and perfect

if i had a nickel for everytime ray suggested/implied a threesome id have 5 FUCKING NICKELS. but really, the first time it happened in ep 2 i was like oh? then when it happened again in episode 5 i was at first too into sandray to initially appreciate it but eventually started to come around to it only for sandray to be too in love for summer to handle. in ep 8, it was clear freddie/freddie/ray was never gonna happen but i was so happy they brought the bit back, i was like wow i forgot about the other two times this was a funny bit for them to make a callback to. when he suggests it a FOURTH time in ep 9, i mean give the man what he wants. which i thought would happen with boeing, but we have yet to see....

Brothership posting: Heatfreeze Island and sidequests.

Sorry for the temporary hiatus; I had to watch WALL-E for a project in Astronomy class, and it took up the time I would normally spend playing Brothership.

- So, because of the whole Burnadette and Chilliam thing I maaaay have misread this island's name as "Heartfreeze Island" at first.

- As I've said before, there's nothing more Nintendo than a combined ice-fire area.

- Blah blah blah, competing villagers needing to get along, yadda yadda yadda, cliche cliche cliche.

- I made the mistake of poking (hammering, actually) one of those sleeping bear-armadillo things, and the only reason I survived the fight is that Mario and Luigi were both at full health and, powerful as it was, it couldn't quite do enough damage in one turn to K.O. anyone. So I blasted it with Bros. Attacks and it didn't get a second turn.

- Also, isn't it crazy how it got to attack first even though it was sleeping when we first-striked it?

- I have a feeling that the second statue's desire to see people, or at least thank the first statue, will eventually become a sidequest.

- For some reason, there's just this one part of the island's background music that makes "NO COMEBACK, THIS IS THE LAST TIME!" pop into my head every single time.

- On that note, I forgot to mention that part of the Color-full Sea Great Lighthouse Island's background music sounds like the chiming opening to "A Lotta Locomotion", so insert "if I had a nickel" meme here.

- Oh, and that reminds me of something I completely forgot to post about back when I just started playing- why is there a train whistle sound effect when the buds open after you connect an island?

- Now onto sidequests: When I did the Bulbfish Island one, I thought the answer to "what book is in the assistant's office" would be "his diary", so I didn't think to go back and check- and even if I had just in case, I didn't know you could interact with the bookshelves to look at the books within.

- As for Monster Mania 2: As soon as I heard that the empowered monsters were Hydro Seedles, I guessed that the gimmick would have to do with their healing, AND I WAS RIGHT.

- I thought the trick would be to kill them in one hit so they can't be healed, but they had high enough HP that I just couldn't manage to do that; after I eventually gave up, I found out that I wasn't actually able to beat them with my current abilities (if you knew that why did you still let me fight, Monster Maniac No. 2), and apparently there's some Battle Plug out there that prevents enemy heali-erm, "damage recovery".

BONUS: WALL-E thoughts

- So, as many other people have said, WALL-E is adorable, as is EVE.

- I knew a decent amount about the film beforehand from pop-culture osmosis, but I was NOT expecting EVE to be that trigger-happy.

- I love the detail of how every other robot WALL-E interacts with gains a bit of personality- M-O hops off the line for the first time in his life, that typer bot (which I thought was a sample-taker) learns to wave...

- Somehow, this even applies to Mary, a HUMAN, as when WALL-E shuts off her holoscreen she starts actually noticing the world around her.

- Also I love how the Axiom's garbage "dump" is infested with computer mice.

- The whole purpose of the assignment was to analyze the scientific accuracy of the film when it comes to astronomy, and I'm going to fill my submission with talk about common astronomy errors from cartoons that nobody actually seems to notice, stuff like:

- > Shots set in the Solar System with inexplicable eye-catching nebulae and such visible.

- > Stars "twinkling" by expanding into four-pointers and spinning around.

- > Stars twinkling (whether correctly or incorrectly) in shots set in space.

Amity has not only fucked IN a Pokemon Centre before, but I will even say it's happened on three distinct occasions, and not only were NONE of those occasions in the Pokemon Centre lodging areas some locations offer, but only ONE of these times was actually in a Pokemon Centre where Amity worked.

The other two occasions were in Pokemon Centres, where she volunteered to relieve congestion and overworking of the other nurses.
