i have unaveragely good knowledge of conditions that affect pigment in animals, and i dont really know why
so fun facts with gold (take with grain of salt):
we all know about the albino condition, but what about lutino? the lutino mutation affects birds that can have a yellow color. it is genetically identical to albinism, but instead of making the bird white, it makes them yellow. Together they are known as the Ino mutation. Other animals can have this too but it most commonly occurs in birds, and the term lutino mainly refers to birds. Other animals are called xanthochromistic.
There is also leucism. In leucistic animals, the pigment cells rack up defects during their growth. Not all pigment cells are affected, meaning that leucistic animals can still have color and often retain color in parts of their skin and eyes. This is where piebalds come from!
Melanistic animals are completely black. They produce an excess of melanin, darkening their features drastically. This is the condition black panthers have.
One bird takes it further: the Ayam Cemani chicken breed. They have hyperpigmentation, which makes their bones and internal organs black as well. pretty metal little birdies
Abundism and pseudomelanism can make an animal appear completely melanistic, but they are not. They will usually have some lighter patches, which melanistic animals do not have.
Melanism and associated conditions are usually much less dangerous for the animal than albinism. Albinism basically means some animals get fuckin cooked real quick by the sun. Gators and crocs with albinism, for example, don’t last very long outside captivity. 24 hours tops.
Also fun bird color fact: The darker a bird feather is, the more resistant to damage it is. This means that albino birds get raggedy feathers much quicker. You might see a lot of birds with black feather tips specifically because that keeps them from getting damaged as easily. You may find that a lot of worn seagull feathers still have the black tips intact, or at least more intact than the rest of the feather.

Even more doodles cause I also drew these :)
AND EVEN MORE INFODUMPING
So top left is Ino-san, in the fic Yuichi and Leo eat soba noodles at his noodle cart. Many things about that!
Leo says Ino san looks weird for a yokai. And he's right - cause Ino-san is NOT A YOKAI!! It isn't gonna be talked about in the fic at all, but Ino-san is actually a mutant like the brothers! Draxum is still working in secret in Hidden City Tokyo and has mutated a few humans!! idk why yet, maybe he is working with the Japanese govt. or smthn. Anyway he mutated Ino-san and Ino-san ran to the hidden city. But the ecomony there is a lot different than actual Tokyo so he sought business elsewhere and ended up in the yokai village!!
even more stuff about that: Ino-san's cart sells cold soba noodles, which are the original ramen noodle! Ramen noodles as we know them today didn't get to be popular until the 50s (not instant, but like at a ramen noodle stand) and even then the term ramen wasn't super popularized until a couple of decades later! So Ino-san is selling cold soba noodles, which are cooked in the morning and thensold throughout the day. He also doesn't have any seats at his bar because they're meant to be eaten quickly!
Noodle stands like this started popping up in the big cities in the 1910s because they were a quick and easy meal for working men and women in the city!!
Also! In the fic Leo is surprised by how expensive the noodles are, that;s because in the mdist of the war, wheat became really expensive to get and wildly drove up the price of soba noodles. In fact, they kind of disappeared until afer the 50s when rationing was over.
So that's fun historical stuff and also a huge backstory for a v miniscule character :)

I want to write a Ino fanfic and I will give her fusion of Domain Expansion/Tsukuyomi. Would it buff her too much?
Domain Expansion is from another manga.
Tsukuyomi is only possible with the Mangekyo Sharingan, no one but Uchiha with that mutation and who manage to develop their doujutsu to that level have it (and even then is a very specific form of the MS, which varies according to the individual). Those non-Uchiha that possess a Sharingan need to be transplanted a Sharingan already capable of having MS in order to have access to it (or have the original user wake it up when in close proximity, like Kakashi/Obito). Also, MS takes a lot of the user's chakra, it's unlikely Ino will be able to pull it off, even when having access to an MS.
I personally would advise to explore her own jutsu, I don't really see why give her something different, although I do personally like her techniques a lot. Maybe it's just me, but I'm perfectly fine with her being the shinobi she is... she's not particularly "strong", or "powerful" of the likes of Mei or even Tsunade -it's fine, she doesn't need to. It doesn't diminish her value inside Konoha's structure or her overall appeal.
Hope that helps.

Greepic Animal Guide
So, as some may have seen, I am creating my own species. Eventually I will make a sideblog and archive everything about the species there. For now, I will give the different animals one can choose from
~Base body~
There are different variations of the base body that are based on different animals connected to Odysseus.
Those animals are as follows: Laconian Dog, Lion, Eagle, Black Sheep, and Boar
Eagle variants have griffon-like ears, and griffon-like tails. All types have some sort of mane situation going on. Sexual dimorphism doesn't exactly exist. It's more based on who's more dominant in the relationship. The more dominant partner(s) in the relationship will normally be seen with thicker manes, some of those manes going all around the neck in some cases. The less dominant partner has a smaller mane, some even being as small as a mohawk.
Now, onto the fun part (in my opinion) of this species
~Additional Body Parts~
These are based on different gods, goddesses, and higher beings mentioned and seen in both EPIC: the musical and the story of The Odyssey.
Normally this species has some sort of wing-like appendages. Wings/fins are very common.
This is the list-
Aeolus: Kingfisher
Apollo: Roe Deer/Swan/Cicada/Hawk/Raven/Crow/Fox/Mice/Snake/Dolphin/Wolf
Ares: Vulture/Dog/Venomous Snake/Boar/Eagle Owl/Barn Owl
Hephaestus: Donkey/Guard Dog/Crane
Hermes: Snake/Rooster/Tortoise/Ram/Hawk
Poseidon: Horse/Bull/Dolphin/Marine Life
Zeus: Bull/Swan/Eagle/Ram/Snake/Cuckoo
Hades: Screech Owl, Black Ram, Serpent, Cerberus
Ino: Dolphin
Heracles: Nemean Lion/Lernean Hydra/Cerynitian Hind/Erymanthian Boar/Stymphalian Bird/Cretan Bull/Mare of Diomedes/Cattle of Geryon/Cerberus
Helios: Rooster/Horse/Cattle/Sheep
Aphrodite: Dolphin/Turtle Dove/Sparrow/Swan/Hare
Athena: Snowy Owl
Calypso: Dolphin/Crab
Circe: Wolf/Lion/Swine
Hera: Cuckoo/Cow/Peacock/Lion
The combination is up to the creator of the character on what they want to add in. I plan on having a point system for certain mutations and traits, but it's going to be an open species.
I'm thinking of offering up animal traits from other gods as a rare trait with higher point usage. Eventually I will have a ref guide for the different traits and base bodies with point counts.
For now, I'll post behind the scenes knowledge and updates that aren't fully official to the species here. I will post all official to an official tumblr blog once I get the chance.
This is Tyr signing off for now!
Edit: The official greepic species account is @officialgreepics

SHOULD READ THESE MOKUTON SAKURA FICS!
Uproot
In a twist of grand irony, the unassuming little girl who learned to weave her chakra into flowers and saplings would be the one to send the whole forest crashing down.
All would be uprooted, and all because of a single girl's discovery of a power that they'd never thought could be hers.
In the end, perhaps only the girl would be left standing tall. Perhaps she'd be cut down too. Perhaps she'd resolve to start a forest all her own.
Only time would tell.
Alternatively: Feeling weak and afraid after Wave, Sakura stumbles upon a way to use Mokuton. Without a bloodline. Without any gene mutations. Self-taught. Konoha is flipped on its head, and there are many, many questions to be asked in the face of a little girl doing the "impossible".
bees don’t buss during an eclipse
The thing is, the summoning jutsu isn’t actually that hard.
And little academy student Sakura, young and clanless and desperate to prove the world that she’s bigger than her forehead, is also friends with Ino, clan heir with connections to the Nara. She watches Shikaku summon a deer once, and an idea turns in her brain.
It’s not her fault nobody told her the technique wasn’t for pre-genin.
Roots
Due to some inconsequential circumstances, Konoha learns they have a new wood release user in their hands, a young academy student named Sakura Haruno. She is placed into an apprenticeship with the only other user in the village and the world moves on.
Her life changes, whether it's for the better or the worse (she isn't quite sure yet), as she begins a tenuous relationship with jealous peers, gains more responsibilities and burdens to go in hand with more power, deals with her overbearing parents, makes a friend or a few, and goes through the normal challenges of becoming a ninja.
She can only go one step at a time. Growing is a delicate process that starts at the bottom.

Comfort or discomfort character (or neither)? Kabuto, Sasuke, Ino, Danzo, Konan, Shikamaru, Naruto :0
Hey, Leo! it’s good to see you! How have you been doing? :)
Kabuto- Discomfort. Look, I know he had a traumatic past, but I just don’t see how he could have gone that far unless there was something fundamentally wrong for him and like Orochimaru, he seemed to show absolutely no remorse while experimenting on babies and mutating living people so I have to say DISCOMFORT.
Sasuke - I love this boy. Honestly, IRL, I kind of behave like him. People’s first impression of me is: intimidating. doesn’t give a fuck. but really, I’m just a dumbass gay clown. Seeing a character who is as emotionally repressed as me is healing. So, COMFORT.
Ino - COMFORT. Listen, I’m a simp for almost all Naruto women. What’s there not to like about a badass shinobi woman who could take control of my body or stab me in the neck??? The ‘A’ in Ari stands for ‘Absolutely willing to throw myself into a slimy puddle so she doesn’t get her shoes wet’. #simping
Danzo- ..um. it’s not even discomfort I just want that pig to burn in hell for for all of eternity. SCREW HIM. That salty genocidal little- okay, this is not the post for that :)
Konan- comfort. Because badass women give me the will to live on. She almost defeated Obito/Madara (SHE SHOULD HAVE WON, DAMN IT) and she’s such a beautiful woman on the inside and out and if you can’t tell, I’m a simp for her as well.✨
Shikamaru- Neither, I guess. I relate to him being that one kid who sleeps in class but still someone gets good grades (once upon a time. now I have gifted kid burnout syndrome <3) and he’s a nice guy, but I don’t really feel that strongly for him... but his pineapple head is funny so-
Naruto- COMFORT. I don’t kin him as much as I do Sasuke but I definitely relate. I’m a hopeless optimist even though I look like an asshole at first glance. Also, no one in the right mind could not like this little sunshine boi, come on. Sometimes, when I feel like giving up, I imagine lil 12 yo Nart stomping towards me and saying “You’re giving up already?? GET UP, BITCH. YOU’RE BETTER THAN THIS.” and helps just a little bit :)
okay, I’m done 💗

SQUAD A: Primary function--assault and destruction. Operative 07, codename ""Delilah" Previous attempts to recreate Hulk-like abilities have invariably met with disaster due to the accompanying berzerker rage.  The Section 11 scientists took a different approach and instead tried to replicate the work of Dr. Samson, tying the particular super-strength of the Hulk to the length of the subject's hair.  Trace genetic samples of the Red Hulk were used in experimentation on a test subject.  Project deemed a partial success, though "Delilah" still has high levels of aggression and can be difficult to control, particularly if her hair length is not maintained within optimal parameters.  Operative 01 has displayed a marked affinity for her, but so far experiments involving attempts at breeding have met with no success. [COMMANDER'S NOTE: "Breeding?" Are you serious with this?  Damnit, those eggheads are messed up.] Operative 08, codename "Waif" "Waif" is unusual in not coming from the usual pool of test subjects, but is in fact the natural daughter of one of Section 11's lead scientists, Dr. Yamanaka.  Her powers emerged at a young age uncontrollably during a traumatic car accident that killed one of her closest friends.  Her powers were uncontrollable and destructive until the implant could be successfully installed.  Though Dr. Yamanaka has attempted, since, to speak with his daughter, she does not seem to recognize him or anyone from her old family at all. "Waif" is one of the few operatives in Section 11 permitted to wear non-standard gear, as disruptions to her daily routine have been observed to have a negative impact on her stability. [COMMANDER'S NOTE: Guy lobotomized his own daughter.  No wonder she won't talk to him.] Operative 09, codename "Samurai." "Samurai" is a clone created by Dr. Akimichi, spliced with DNA from the metahuman Blob. His armor is developed based on intense study of the metahuman Juggernaut and his armor.  Though docile and responding well to direction, "Wamurai" has little initiative of his own.  He also does not speak, and only communicates through "Waif."  He has been observed to have a calming impact on her, hence why the two are paired together.  "Samurai" also carries a series of steroids and stimulants for use in high-stress combat situations, and has received military training. [COMMANDER'S NOTE: Love this kid.  Like a minature tank.] *Note: Given the volatile nature of the group, they require extensive coordination.  Dr. Nara's "Deer" AI has proven useful in this task, supplemented by Shadow drones capable of observing and compiling data.** **Further Note: Dr. Nara's "Deer" AI has been flagged for review after numerous incidents displaying near-sentience, including several statements curiously similar to Dr. Nara's late son.  Director Danzou has ordered an investigation into thJA)djs&(*Yhiue---------RECORD DELETED
SQUAD B--Primary Function: Infiltration and Recon Operative 03: "Gemini 1" Gemini 1 is not suited to intense combat situations unless supported by Gemini 2.  Her primary skill set is stealth, infiltration, and cyberops.  Similar to Gemini 2, she possesses hyper-optogrophy and can see in multiple layers of the spectrum, including infrared, ultraviolet, and x-ray. Energy blasts from the palms are able to target internal organs. Tests have also confirmed a psychic link between her and Gemini 2, wherein information and even physical pain can be conveyed between one and the other.   Gemini 1 has also been observed to have a notable attraction to Operative 01, which might possibly be useful. [COMMANDER'S NOTE: Who authorized that test, and how was "physical pain" determined?] Operative 04: "Gemini 2" Gemini 2 is the twin of Gemini 1 and possesses all her abilities.  He has a much higher combat aptitude, and has been noted in field operations to have a particular protective instinct involving Gemini 1.  It has also been noted that Gemini 2's combat effectiveness dips noticeably when confronted with anti-citizens Kusanagi and Green Beast.  Confrontations should be avoided. [COMMANDER'S NOTE: Who did we get these twins from, I wonder. Probably from one of the "clinics."] Operative 05: "Weapon K" Weapon K is the most successful emulation of the Weapon X project thus far.  Though it is still difficult to maintain complete control, and the adamantium binding process was not entirely successful, still he retains the all-important healing factor acquired from Weapon X, as well as the heightened senses. Weapon K handles the majority of combat situations that Squad B encounters, though he is indiscreet and tends to leave a mess behind. [COMMANDER'S NOTE: Just something not right about this boy.] Operative 06: "Shino Entity" It has yet to be determined whether Shino Entity is, in fact, a budding psychic who was consumed by insects and gained control of them, or merely a strange collective of psychic insects under a shared delusion of once having been human. Investigation is ongoing, though attempts to isolate and inspect individual insects of the hive mind have been counter-productive, as Shino Entity has invariably become aware of the isolation and dissection of members of his hive mind.  Accordingly, invasive experiments have for the  moment been suspended to ensure his ongoing collaboration.  His skill set is incredibly valuable and unique, however, enabling mass recon on a almost simultaneous response, and while not suited to combat, is essentially indestructible. Shino Entity requires little care save maintenance of the containment suit and a daily piece of rotten meat.  This seems sufficient to have earned his cooperation, along with a curious affinity for the other members of Squad B--though it still has not been determined how he manages to speak. [COMMANDER'S NOTE: I don't really care where he came from.  As long as he keeps up his work, he can call himself Shino or Lord Nelson for all I care.] LEADERSHIP TEAM Commader Kakashi: Field Commander.  Last living member of the original Section 11 team, Commander Kakshi has been declared not fit for combat due to the injury suffered to his eye during the Apocalypse Incident.  He now serves Section 11 in a supervisory tactical role, planning out missions to accomplish goals as set by the rest of the leadership.  Though not strictly required, Commander Kakashi makes a habit of deploying with the Section 11 Operatives whenever possible, a practice which Section Chief Danzou has cited him for numerous times. [COMMANDER'S NOTE: Let the old man complain, I'm not sending kids out there without backup.] Dr. Tsunade: Head of Mutagenic Studies.  Dr. Tsunade left a promising career at Tokyo University to lead the medical and study wing of Section 11.  She is in charge of monitoring the operative's physical state and the nature of their mutations, as well as any new mutations that arise.  Dr. Tsunade's connection to the program is more than professional, as her grandfather was closely involved in its creation, a fact which may have weighed into her decision to join.  Dr. Tsunade also considers herself in charge of the operative's well-being, a matter which has also led her to clash with Section Chief Danzou. [COMMANDER'S NOTE: The lady should be in charge from everything I've seen.  Though what she did to the meeting table makes me wonder if her studies have been leading to more practical applications of mutagens, recently.] Dr. Inoichi: Section Chief Danzou's successful recruitment of the famous "Ino-Shika-Cho" team may be considered one of the great accomplishments of his administration. Dr. Inoichi joined the program out of desperation to find some solution to his daughter's newly awakened powers, and his two friends followed him.  A neurology specialist, Dr. Inoichi has done groundbreaking work regarding metahuman psychics and extra-natural brain structure.  He devised the device which currently helps his daughter to keep her powers in check, which is currently under development for possible use against enemy psychics. [COMMANDER'S NOTE: Why does the record note this as an accomplishment of Danzou's? Inoichi joined us because of his daughter's accident, Danzou had nothing to do with it.] Dr. Shikaku: Shikaku, a renowned specialist in artificial intelligence and computer learning simulations, joined the program alongside his friend. His algorithms run much of the training programs that the operatives use, as well as much of the predictive software crucial to Section 11's smooth operation.  The death of his son left him emotionally distant and he has a noted reluctance to meet with any of the operatives outside of Inoichi's daughter.  Much of his work since joining Section 11 has been on his prototype ASI "Shika" and its proxy drone. [COMMANDER'S NOTE: I swear, that thing almost seems sometimes like it's actually senti303@..%$)(~~~- ERROR DATA CORRUPTION... Dr. Chouza: The final member of the Ino-Shika-Cho team, Dr. Chouza's specialty runs more in the physical arena than either of his friends, primarily involving force multipliers such as the Hulk and Blob. His "Choji" clone program has potential to create an entire army once the formula has been perfected and the laboratory repaired. [COMMANDER'S NOTE: Chouza's heart isn't in this, and that laboratory will never be fixed if he has anything to say about it.] Section Chief Danzou: Despite his near-fatal injuries from the Apocalypse Incident, Section Chief Danzou has transformed Section 11 into an elite fighting force in the wake of his predecessor.  The current roster and focus of the division is entirely due to his guidance.  He has a noted tendency for keeping his plans to himself and frequently overrules his leadership staff. [COMMANDER'S NOTE: There is reason to believe that the old man has an even more dark-ops organization on the side, for missions he considers too sensitive even for Section 11.]

got any meta for inner sakura?
My version of Inner Sakura is the result of bb!Ino lacking control over her Yamanaka bloodline talent. Should Sakura cultivate Inner Sakura properly she’ll become immune to brainwashing, possession, and genjutsu. Basically, Inner Sakura is a psionic defence mechanism crossed with a first generation bloodline talent mutation.
Inner Sakura also boosts Sakura’s physical stats under the concept of “use two hands for twice the power”. So as Sakura gets stronger in body, so does Inner Sakura and they can double their physical strength by overlapping their minds. Does this mean super strength!Sakura, why, Yes It Does~
Combining the Inner Sakura Head Canon with the theory behind the Strength of One Hundred Seal, Inner Sakura would grow her own chakra stores and chakra network as a result of Sakura cultivating her new bloodline talent. So Sakura would also have “double” the chakra she would otherwise have.

Paternity
CC: Diplopia, night terrors ongoing 3 weeks, and a myoclonic jerk
Dx: Subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE)
Diplopia:
aka double vision: the perception of two images instead of a single object
Common causes usually stem from issues with the eyes, muscles and nerves controlling the eyes, and the brain.
Night terrors:
As mentioned in the episode, there are two leading causes for onset teenage night terrors: PTSD and sexual abuse.
Personally I think there isn’t much reason for the patient to have experienced night terrors beyond the initial stages of SSPE causing changes in emotional behavior and personality.
Myoclonic jerk:
Brief, involuntary twitching of some muscles; generally in healthy persons it can be seen right before falling asleep (aka a hypnic jerk).
The patient presents it even though he’s not asleep or tired.
Multiple sclerosis (MS):
In the episode:
After testing some CSF, because of a buildup and blockage, they find high levels of IgG and assume multiple sclerosis, but find no evidence of lesions. A good assumption because over 80% of patients with MS show oligoclonal bands with high IgG.
Since the patients symptoms have only begun 3 weeks previously they determine it’s rapidly progressive MS.
They can’t definitively diagnose MS, because there are no specific tests for it. Generally doctors have to rule out every other possibility before they can confirm. What’s mentioned in the episode is waiting 6 months to confirm, most likely to see progression of symptoms as well as ruling out differentials.
More on Marburg MS s7e08 “Small Sacrifices”
MS is a chronic central nervous system disease in which the myelin sheath and nerve axons in the brain are destroyed. It’s referred to as a demyelinating disease. The damage disrupts the ability to transmit signals which can result in a slew of signs and symptoms.
The three main characteristics are the formation of lesions/plaques in the CNS, inflammation and the destruction of myelin sheaths of neurons
Other specific symptoms usually include diplopia, blindness in one eye, muscle weakness, and trouble with sensation or coordination.
Some pathognomonic signs include:
Internuclear ophthalmoplegia (INO): an impairment in the lateral conjugate gaze, meaning that when both eyes are looking toward one side the affected eye cannot properly adduct (move toward the center). Caused bye a lesion in the medial longitudinal fasciculus (part in the brainstem).
To put it simply, if the right eye is affected, the patient should be able to look to the right, and cross their eyes, but upon looking to the left, the right eye won’t be able to move to the midline.
Positive Romberg’s sign: when the patient sways or falls with their eyes closed. It demonstrates a loss of postural control and proprioception (perception and awareness of one’s body) in the absence of visual input.
Positive Lhermitte’s sign: paresthesia/an electrical shock that passes down the back of the neck and spine, usually brought upon by bending the head forwards towards the chest.
Progression usually occurs as episodes of worsening lasting days to months, followed by improvement (relapsing episodes).
Subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE):
Early in the episode Cameron admits to not having taken a full history or family history which really would have solved the case a hell of a lot sooner, given his birth mother was the cause of the patients issues.
tbf, it was the whole point of the episode to focus on determining paternity, which, given all the daddy issues on the show is a good setup.
Then again, the patient is a 16 year old lacrosse player, and he figured out he was adopted at a much younger age, 10 if I remember right, just from having a cleft chin. Talk about selective blindness on the team.
aka Dawson disease
SSPE is a super rare complication from measles wherein there is chronic progressive brain inflammation caused by the mutated virus.
Patients generally have history of a primary measles infection in infancy (where the birth mother was not vaccinated and thus could not pass along the proper antibodies to protect the infant for up to 6 months), followed by an asymptomatic period that can last up to 27 years. Afterwards neurological deterioration ensues with behavioral changes, myoclonic seizures, visual disturbances, ataxia, and ultimately death.
Anti-measles IgG appears to increase as the disease progresses
There is no definitive cure, but if it is diagnosed in the first stage of the disease oral isoprinosine and intraventricular interferon alfa could help, it varies patient to patient. And the only accepted treatment are purely supportive: anticonvulsants.
Should not be confused with acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM), which can also be caused by the measles virus.
Another demyelinating disease, it is a rare autoimmune disease with acute inflammation of the brain and spinal cord.
Often triggered by a viral infection or specific non-routine vaccinations.
Very closely resembles symptoms of MS except for usually occurring in children and marked with rapid fever.

Scintilla (A spark or trace of something)
Capricious (Impulsive; prone to sudden extreme changes in mood)
Once again Hayami was going to be late, she hadn’t meant to be but the lack of sleep these past few days had caught up with her and she missed her alarm. Racing to the academy a quick thought past through that this would be her last time being late. Her pace slowed down a little as a strong feeling of nostalgia hit her. Taking her time she finally reached the window, with a quick knock on the glass, the whole class looked towards her. A small smile on her face Kiba walked over to open the window and help Hayami through. The tired look on Iruka sensei’s face was enough to make the class giggle.
“Again, Furutani” Hayami smiled and placed her hands behind her back.
“I had to for old times sake” with a shake of Iruka’s head Hayami took a seat.
“Goal!” Two shouts came from the door Ino and Sakura made their way into the room and started to fight over who would sit next to Sasuke. Hayami payed them no mind it wasn’t different to any other day, her mind started to drift once again. This time she could she flickers from a raging fire, Hayami drew a quick breath and forced her self back to reality, she turned to Kiba and played with Akamaru.
Hayami had her attention drawn away from the adorable puppy when she saw Naruto crouch in front of Sasuke, with a small roll of her eyes she gave Kiba a nudge as she watched the new found distraction. She could feel the electricity in each of their glares, before the boy sitting at the desk in front of them moved back and nudged Naruto into Sasuke with the boys falling into a kiss. The room became so silent as the tension rose and Hayami was bursting trying not to let out a laugh.
“As of today you have all become full fledge ninjas, however you are all still Genin, from now on you will be in squads of three with one squad being four” the students started to mumble to themselves and each other wondering who would be in their team. Hayami didn’t really have any complaints with who she would be with as long as she could get a long with them. ‘I get along with everyone in class except for maybe Sasuke because he’s on his own all the time and doesn’t really talk, or Naruto just because he is so energetic all the time’ Hayami thought. All of the students were curious as to who would be in the squad of four.
“Now the squad of four is happening because we have one extra person in our class, not to matter though we have evenly distributed everyone. You will carry out missions under the guidance of a Jonin teacher, now ill assign you to your groups” Hayami kept her ear out for her name and watched as people were put together.
“Now for group seven; Hayami Furutani, Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Haruno and Saskue Uchiha” Hayami sighed at the interesting bunch she had been put with. Kiba noticed her dismay and patted her on the back for some comfort.
“Man do I feel bad for you” Hayami looked to Kiba seeing the amused smile on his face.
“Group eight; Hinata Hyuga, Kiba Inuzuka and Shino Aburame”
“Wanna swap teams” Hayami asked him.
“No way” Hayami rested her head on the desk and waited for Iruka to finish dividing the students into their groups. She didn’t have high hopes for her group, Sakura and Hayami didn’t really have a friendship though Hayami didn’t think that the girl would like her because she is obsessed with Sasuke, Sasuke was the last of his clan and kept to himself a lot, maybe Hayami could make some sought of friendship there though it was highly unlikely, and Naruto was a loud mouth. A sigh escaped her mouth. She would have to make this work somehow.
“Iruka Sensei, why does an exceptional student like me have to be grouped up with this guy?” Hayami sighed again her new found hope fastly diminishing,
“Sasuke has the best grades of the class, while you Naruto are at the bottom, this is how it is trying to balance the power of the groups it is also why you are in the group of four” the class started laughing, Hayami started to feel bad for him, no good could come from public humiliation like this. “In the afternoon you will meet with your Jonin teachers, you are all dismissed.”
Walking out of the academy Hayami decided to eat her lunch in her usual spot, in a higam cherry tree, the weeping pink flowers create a nice calming atmosphere which Hayami loved, they reminded her of her home as weeping trees surrounded the area. Hayami had wanted to eat lunch with her new team but they had all ran off before she could suggest it, it didn’t really surprise her she new that Sasuke would be on his own, Sakura would chase after him and Naruto would chase after her. What came as a surprise to Hayami was watching Naruto jump into the window that Sasuke was resting in, the window shut so Hayami could no longer see in, but as expected Sasuke came out victorious. With a huff Hayami packed up her lunch and jumped over to the window, with the intention of freeing Naruto from whatever bind he was in.
“Huh” Sasuke looked towards the intruder, to find Hayami looking at him with such a confused look. He watched as she pointed to him then out the window then back to him. Her eyes went wide with realisation before she bent down to cut the ropes freeing him. “So you aren’t Naruto?” Sasuke looked at the girl with pure offence, huffing a no at her, he noticed that she still had a semi confused look as she was trying to understand the blond boys motivation for tying him up. Hayami knew they hated each other but this was too far. An even deeper confused look came upon her face as Sasuke grabbed her wrist and dragged her out the window behind him, with a short explanation of finding Naruto.
The pair walked together side by side in an awkward silence, Hayami had no idea how to approach the boy in a way that he wouldn’t annoy him. She knew that he liked to be alone but this silence was slowly killing her, she was semi glad when Sakura called out Sasuke’s name
“You’re such a shy bad boy” the awkward tension was thick, “Are you prepared and ready to go” Hayami fell back a few steps and watched a Sasuke ignored the pink haired girl. “Hey Sasuke”
“Where’s Naruto” Hayami speed past the two not wanting to get involved in, whatever this was, it confused her greatly. She came to the realisation that she was going to be in two moods for the rest of her life annoyed and confused.
“Just leave Naruto alone, all he does is pick fights with you, it’s because he wasn’t raised right, you know he doesn’t have parents right” Hayami took a step back next to Sasuke wanting to hear was Sakura was going to say. “He always selfishly does what he wants, my parents would get mad at me if I did anything like he does,” Both Sasuke and Hayami glared at the girl, not that she noticed both other parties getting irritated at her. “No parents to nag you, its just him alone. So his selfishness comes out,” Hayami felt hot, her anger was boiling.
“How dare you!” Hayami stepped forward, both Sasuke and Sakura watching her now, “How dare you say that, when you have no idea what it feels like”
“The loneliness, Its worse then getting yelled at by your parents,” Sasuke added.
“Whats gotten into you two?”
“You are annoying” Sakura looked like she broke, Sasuke started to walk away but stopped as he realised Hayami wasn’t following.
“You need to take a good look at yourself Sakura, see what you have and count yourself lucky. How dare you complain about that sort of thing, at least you get to experience it. I wish everyday that I could be with my family again but I cant because they are gone. Don’t complain about an orphan to two orphans, it makes you pathetic” Hayami tried her hardest to keep her anger at bay but it reached its limit, the loneliness that she had been feeling days prior had mutated into a deep resting anger that had waited to burst. She felt Sasuke grab her wrist and pull her away from the now crying girl. Guilt followed after the anger, as she and Sasuke were walking side by side she got lost in her thoughts, she hadn’t meant to make the girl cry she just lost control of her emotions. At least now the silence between Hayami and Sasuke wasn’t as awkward.
Hayami layed on one of the desks in the class room watching Naruto bounce around the place. Sasuke was set on the desk in front of her and Sakura was leaning against the table to his left. For the eight time Naruto opened the door to the class room and checked to see if out teacher was coming. Hayami had her eyes closed as wathing the brightly dressed boy running around had started to give her a headache,
“Naruto wont you stay still” Sakura nodded along with the suggestion of other girl not that either Hayami or Naruto could see.
“Why is it that only our sensei is late? Everyone else has gone off with their sensei and Iruka Sensei has already left”
“Dont look at me” Hayami moved her arm slightly and opened her eyes has the sound of clattering and watched as Naruto decided to set a ‘trap’ for our sensei.
“What are you doing?” Hayami didn’t think she could handle anymore bickering between the others.
“It will be his fault for being late” ”Man you really are asking for it”
“A Jonin would fall for such a week trap” and now Sasuke has joined in. Hayami took  her arm that was sitting over her eyes and placed it laced on her stomache. If her sensei was going to be late, she would take a nap. Or she would have if her team mates weren't so loud. She watched as fingers wrapped around the slightly ajar door, and shock fell onto her face as shot up watching the duster fall onto her supposed sensei’s head. Naruto’s laughter filled the room as did Sakura’s apologies the room fell silent as all for young teens watched their new sensei.
“How can I put this? As for my first impression of you guys? Well I hate you”
Team seven made their way onto the roof and sat in a line waiting instruction.
“Well, first off, why don’t you guys introduce yourself?”
“What should we say?” Hayami picked at her fingernails, she hated introductions, she didn’t like talking about her self, she didn’t like talking in front of other people about herself and she didn’t like talking to strangers about herself.
“Your likes, dislikes, future dreams, hobbies. Things like that?”
“Hey before that why don’t you tell us about yourself?
“Me? Well my name is Kakashi Hatake, I don’t feel like telling you guys about my likes and dislikes, ive never really thought about my future dream, as for my hobbies I have many” Hayami’s eyes sparkled, she didn’t know you could just avoid the quesiton like that, “Next you blondy”
“My name is Naurto Uzumaki, I like instant ramen, but what I like even more is Ichiraku ramen that Iruka sensei buys, what I dislike is the three minutes you have to wait for instant ramen and my hobby is eating and comparing ramen, and my future dream is to surpass the Hokage, and get the entire village to acknowledge me” Well at least Hayami knew what she could get him for his birthday.
“Alright next is pinky”
“Hi, my name is Sakura Haruno, What I mean who I like is…My hobby is…My future dream is” Hayami watched with a mixture of disgust and wonder at the pink haired girl as said girl kept looking at Sasuke for her answers. “And my dislikes Naruto” Hayami’s face fell for the poor boy. Reaching beside her to pat his shoulder.
“Your next brownie”
“uh- Hey, I’m Hayami Furutani, my likes -uh- throwing knives and weeping trees, I dislike the smell of lavender and fire, my hobbies -uh-collecting weapons and my future dream, I guess is just to make my dad proud.” Out of the corner of her eye she saw the concerned glances from Sakura and Sasuke though Sasuke’s only lasted for a second before he went back to his usual aloofness. Though what caught her eye was they knowing look she got from Kakashi Sensei, whether he knew what happened or if he had been through something similar she didn’t know but it gave her a strange comfort.
“And you”
“My name is Sasuke Uchiha, I have no likes in particular but a lot of dislikes, and I don’t have a dream but an ambition, I will restore my clan without fail and to kill a certain man.” Hayami looked to the boy slightly concerned but mostly scared, though the more she thought about it the more she understood. The drive for revenge.
“Good! You all distinctive and interesting” The call of her sensei shook Hayami out of her dark thoughts,
“Tomorrow we have a mission, its a survival exercise,” the excitement from Hayami and her peers dropped, “This is no normal survival exercise,”
“Then what kind of survival exercise is it,” The giggles that came from their sensei creeped Hayami out a lot, concern and worry grew from the pit of her stomach,
“Why are you laughing, what's so funny?”
“Well of the twenty-eight graduates, only three groups will become Genins, the remainders go back to the academy, this ‘exercise’ is actually a test with a 66 percent fail rate or higher” Hayami lost hope.
“Then what was the graduation test for?”
“That was just to test to see who had potential of becoming a Genin, prepare for this bring your ninja tools, we meet at five in the morning,” Hayami was stressed, maybe Kaori was home, he could help her right? Her thoughts were racing, she remembered how proud Kaori was of her. ‘I cant go back now’.
“Oh and its best if you skip breakfast or you will throw up.”

Mutant
I'm going through one of the worsts writer's blocks in my young life, I'm also rediscovering my forgotten love for sasusaku so I've decided to write some drabbles for the Lovetoknow "is this just fantasy" list.
Word two: mutant
This is sort of an X-Men au but with less crime fighting and more inner prejudice overcoming.
...
Sasuke still can't believe he got married to a woman who could punch him through a wall and then heal him just to break his bones again later.
Sometimes he thinks about the unfairness of her having two mutations, like she wasn't plenty special already, but he has never thought of her as anything less than a warrior and a healer. A strong woman with an even stronger heart. He could only ever picture her while she was protecting and taking care of the people she loves.
That's the girl he fell in love with, the only woman he could feel love for. That love he learnt to appreciate and take in stride as a beautiful thing only she could gift him.
It's been days since the evening he stood in front of the girl, now a woman, who would chase him around their little village because "You're special, Sasuke-kun just like Ino and I".
It's been days since he placed a ring on her finger as he stuttered his vows like the awkward moron he has always been, before kissing her on front of the people he used to avoid in fear of being recognised as anything less than normal.
Because Naruto Uzumaki could clone himself and that wasn't normal, because the Hyuuga cousins had weird blank, pupiless eyes that could see through everything and they were freaks, because creppy Shikamaru Nara walked around the village alongside dancing shadows that he could control, because Ino Yamanaka was danger to society that could get inside people's heads like a parasite.
Because Sakura Haruno could shatter the very earth from beneath her feet with a punch of her tiny, little fists.
Because Sasuke Uchiha should hide the fire burning in his lungs. Should ignore the searing sensation screaming from under the skin and pretend he's normal. Because he is normal.
He used to believe that no one would ever know about the things that made him an anomaly of nature. That he could make his family proud and go on with his life as if he wasn't monster.
But it was only a matter of time before everyone knew of his deviation from humanity.
The first to know about him was Naruto. Having seen him in the lake near his house burning the water with the fire that he usually left to sleep, deep within his chest. He called him friend, then. An equal.
Sasuke used to feel safe with the knowledge that only Naruto knew about his secret. The blond was a loud person by nature but a loyal friend all the same.
Until the idiot told Sakura.
The little pink haired freak who liked to heal children's wounds in parks with the green, warm aura that sometimes emanated from her hands. The silly, little girl who insisted on healing any small scrap he ever got because "I hate seeing you hurt, Sasuke-kun. I can help, please let me help."
He hated Sakura, he was repulsed of her and her dirty genetics. Hated her because his father hated mutants with passion, because his mother always told him to be careful around dangerous people like Kakashi Hatake who could create lighting in his hands or Yamato who could grow trees with just his will.
Hated her, like he hated Uchiha Itachi. His big brother who one day showed him bloody red eyes that trapped him in scary illusions and a horrible imaginary world. And then, just as if his entire existence was a well crafted fantasy he created, he was gone the morning after.
Sasuke never saw him again.
It was easy to hate Itachi, his brother wasn't there for him when he needed him the most, and that was enough to tarnish his memory. But Sakura was hard to hate (hard no to love). It was hard to hate the girl who asked him to melt her marshmallows because “I like them warm, Sasuke-Kun.”
It was impossible to hate the girl who opened marmalade jars for him with a smirk dancing on her lips as if he couldn't do it himself.
Eventually Sasuke started giving in on his impulses to lean onto her warm, healing touch as she took care of him, of kissing the top of her weird, pink head and inhaling the sweet smell of her perfume. He started giving in on his wishes of taking her petite hand in his own and on the impulse to embrace her waist as they walked the distance between her house, Naruto's small apartment and the school.
Eventually he found out about how Hyuuga Hinata was a really sweet girl, with precious emotions and a shy smile always directed at Naruto's back. He realized that Nara was just a weird ass sloth who would love nothing more than to stare at the clouds for hours if he could.
He discovered that Yamato and his protegé Sai didn't have last names because they were lucky they had names to begin with. Because sometimes humans were the real monsters.
He found that the Yamanaka girl loved flowers and spending time with her girlfriends more than anything. That Hatake Kakashi was the best teacher anyone could wish for, if only, he would get to class on time.
He found a kindred spirit on silent, traditional Neji Hyuuga. Found a soulmate in loud competitive Naruto Uzumaki. Found love in weird, mutant Haruno Sakura.
Eventually he graduated, left his parents; left his hate and her fears. Bought a little house with deep red walls that reminded him of the dresses she used to wear on her childhood and a grand fireplace just to ask her if she would do him the honor of telling him to lit it every night for her.
It's been days since Haruno Sakura became Uchiha Sakura.
And Sasuke still can't quite believe she choose to marry a freak like him.

BORUTO ALTER: Last Shinobi by SongofVedas

21Chapter 12: FORMATION: INO-SHIKA-CHO!
BORUTO
-KIRIGAKURE ARC-
SHIKADAI sighed, opening green eyes. The sun cast shadows about the forest, each of them like little black pools underneath clouds of leaves.
Beside him, Chocho Akimichi stood. She wielded a tantō confidently, tapping her feet in excitement. To their backs, Inojin Yamanaka was found. The youth had long black and blonde hair, split down the middle and framing a pale face down to a pointed chin.
Shikidai knew Inojin was at the ready as well- scroll in one hand, brush in the other.
It was silent...save for the incessant chirping of birds.
Shikadai smiled, looking every bit like his mother as he did so.
When will you make your move... Sensei! He thought.
With Chocho at his right, they could defend themselves from not only both directions, but also from the ground and the air.
With Inojin at their flank, he could use his-
Each of the young genin suddenly heard sandals clacking against bark from the branches above.
She's coming!
Shikadai expected an attack from the trees-
The ground between them ruptured violently, spears of rock striking upwards from within the genin formation.
Earth style-!
The genin leapt into the air, using chakra to increase their speed. Despite their status as students, Shikadai estimated that their agility far exceeded the rank they currently held.
Shikadai somersaulted backwards, crouching against a thick tree trunk. Inojin landed in the branches above him, while Chocho reformed at Shikadai's center right.
Despite the surprise attack, we maintained our formation. However.. sensei isn't fighting seriously yet..Shikadai frowned.
Is she trying to catch us off guard? Create a variance in her strategy?
Chocho spoke aloud, slightly breaking Shikadai's concentration.
"You're going too easy on us, sensei!" She boasted.
Inojin chuckled from the trees.
"Shut up, fatso." Inojin said with quiet politeness.
Chocho whirled her head up at Inojin.
"I'm- I'm not even using my dad's jutsu right now!" She yelled.
It was true. Chocho was able to revert between body sizes- a genetic mutation of the jutsu she inherited by the blood of the Akimichi clan.
Her "normal" body could infuse chakra and use the body expansion technique.. while her "fat" body was able to retain chakra that Chocho infused over days.. months.. and even years.
While in this form, she could expend that chakra instantly, unleashing a torrent of power that not even Chocho can currently control. In fact, the form could kill her if not used properly.
Despite her somewhat self absorbed attitude..
Chocho was strong.
"Water style: water severing wave!" Moegi's voice rang throughout the forest as the sound of gushing water filled Shikadai's ears.
A high pressure stream cut through wood, toppling trees as it mowed towards the assembled genin.
Suddenly, a massive ink wall formed between the genin and the spearing water. the ink solidified into a tangible painting of an ornate oni gate, complete with swaying charms.
Inojin's jutsu.. the Material Imitation Technique. Unlike his father, Inojin was unable to perform Beast Imitation Art. However, his jutsu seemed able to create "inanimate" non living objects- anything from bridges to spears. Even rocks, fire, and water.
Despite his relative inexperience, the art Inojin could create was far denser than that of regular Beast Imitation Drawing, meaning it was harder to destroy- and in some situations, far better suited for defense and offense.
"Good, Inojin!" Chocho complimented, unbothered by Inojin's earlier insult. She planted herself on the ground, fingers curling around the handle of her small sword.
She can sense what's coming too- nice Chocho! Shikadai remained silent as four snaking rods of wood burst from between quivering trees.
Moegi's speciality..
Wood release.
Moegi had created a facsimile of the First's jutsu. It lacked the chakra controlling properties and overall strength of Hashirama's original ability, but maintained the same versatility. It was that same versatility that hurtled towards them now.
Heh.. now this.. this could actually kill us! Shikadai thought with a bit of sadistic humor.
Chocho held her sword outwards vertically. chakra plumed from her- causing light red hair to waver in the air.
Then, a gust of wind followed flashes of steel.
Smoke billowed beside Shikadai as the sound of wood punching against metal bounced between trees.
Chocho's speciality..
Weapon expansion.
The Akimichi clan possessed the ability to expand their bodies into massive, bulbous forms. However, Karui Akimichi was able to create a new jutsu.. a combination of the Akimichi's Chō Haetataki and Kumogakure kenjutsu.
As the smoke cleared, Chocho could be seen wielding a massive blade- one that nearly rivaled the nearby trees in length. She held it defensively as Moegi's branches pummeled Chocho's sword with a hail of thundering blows. Despite this.. Chocho's weapon was resolute.
The principle was simple. By imbuing her Tanto with her own blood, she was able to transfer gigantism to it. Karui created the Jutsu.. and Choji mastered the technique. With that said..
Chocho has the potential to utilize it to greater extents than either of them!
The sound of bark scraping against metal ceased. For a moment, it was silent.
Chocho leapt backwards, shrinking her weapon back to its normal size.
Inojin kept to the trees as they all heightened their awareness, chirping birds tentatively resuming song during the calm.
Shikadai's eyes leapt from leaf to leaf, left to right.
Where will she strike next..
"Shikadai.. I'm not sure if she's doing it on purpose or not.. but I can sense her." Chocho whispered.
Shikadai lowered his head.
"Far away enough that you're talking, huh?" He responded with a slight smile.
Ironically, it was Chocho, not Inojin, who was the strongest sensory type on the team.
Chocho frowned, unamused as she formed a jutsu sign.
"Obviously.. So what do we do?"
Shikadai pondered.
She wants us to attack her.. that much is clear. Which means she's going to put up a real fight this time. We'll have to be careful.
Shikadai intrusively scratched at a bandaged wrist.
I could use it.. But I'd prefer not to risk any damage during a training exercise..
Whatever.
"Inojin," Shikadai threw his head backwards and up, blond ponytail swinging behind his neck.
"Draw as many ranged projectiles as you can. Arrows, swords. Anything you can manipulate and throw."
"That's easy." Inojin rose from his perch, stretching both arms before jumping to the forest floor.
"Chocho," Shikadai turned to her as he pointed to his head.
"Your job is important. Inojin is going to be following your lead. I need you to attack Moegi directly- Inojin, start drawing by the way.." Shikadai said calmly.
He returned his attention to Chocho.
"You're not just creating an opening. You have the strongest offensive ability out of all of us. More than likely.. it'll be you to call this thing." Shikadai folded his arms.
"While you're doing that, I'll come in from the opposite direction, behind her. It's simple enough.. but variables don't lie. There's three of us." Shikadai looked at both of his teammates, smiling down at Inojin as the boy drew, then across to Chocho.
"And.. we're pretty strong." Shikadai finished.
"Chocho- where is she?" Inojin asked as he rose.
Chocho clicked her tongue in annoyance.
"I can't sense her as well as before. But I still can see the general area." Chocho answered.
Shikadai assumed a slightly more authoritative tone.
"Inojin- advance with Chocho, but retreat once she makes contact. That's when you'll use your art." Shikadai instructed.
"Between the two of us.. we're sure doing a lot, Shikadai." Inojin chuckled.
The young Nara offered a content smirk.
"I'm just doing what I do best.. staying out of the way."
With that, he nodded to Chocho.
"Let's move."
The genin seemed to vanish into the air with a whisper. Chocho and Inojin rushed ahead, while Shikadai himself circled from above, leaping from tree to tree.
Suddenly, Chocho swung her head around in panic.
"Shikadai! Behind you!" Chocho's voice echoed throughout the forest as the sizzle of chakra prickled the skin at Shikadai's neck.
Water style again-
Shikadai threw himself to his knees as bullets of water sped above his head with loud hisses. He flipped against the wood of the tree, kicking himself away from Moegi and down to his teammates.
Moegi silently continued her advance.
Her movements were faster, obviously more trained. As Shikadai landed, he saw the shadow of Moegi descending from above him.
Shikadai ignored her.
As Moegi began to attack, a katana shot through trees. It impaled her through the stomach before her body exploded into a cloud of white smoke.
Good.. Inojin knew it was a clone. And even better.. Chocho hasn't fully revealed her position. She fled as Moegi chased me.
Both of his teammates were able to maintain their plan, despite the fact that Moegi's attack changed their original roles.
And now...
Shikadai's eyes followed the path of Inojin's painted weapon. Inojin had defended him.. but he was directing him as well.
Shikadai pressed his palms together, strengthening the murky, quivering line of darkness that stretched across a forest floor splotched with shadows.
It crawled up a tree, curling around the trunk..
And directly across Moegi's legs.
When she had moved to attack Shikadai, Inojin was probably far away enough to see her use substitution- allowing him to not only defend Shikadai, but also reveal Moegi's location.
Shikadai's ponytail wavered as Chocho sped past him. In seconds she was behind Moegi, tanto pointed at her sensei's back.
"...We could go for a bit longer.. but I think that's enough." Moegi spoke aloud from a distance.
"You've improved. All of you." Moegi finished.
"Do you think we're ready for the Mist? Ready to help the fifth Hokage?" Chocho asked.
As Shikadai approached, he noticed Moegi's expression harden.
"This mission has the potential to be more dangerous than what we faced in Suna. I've trained you well.. I think this sparring match is evidence of that." Moegi said.
Her eyes then lowered into a warning, shadowed gaze.
"However, this exercise and actual combat are two entirely different things. I don't have to tell any of you this." Moegi continued, her voice softening.
"I genuinely don't know what we'll face there, Chocho. But I need each of you to promise that you'll trust each other, and trust me. That may be the only advantage we have over our foes."
Shikadai and the others nodded, promising their sensei.
Moegi's expression changed again- it was happy.. relieved.
"Let's get back to the village then. I want you guys to have time to talk to your family and friends before we leave."
Chocho and Inojin excitedly complied.. but Shikadai continued to watch Moegi. Her expression seemed to grow more hollow.. almost scared.
Is there something about this mission we don't know?
Shikadai's mind flashed to Himawari in the hospital. Then, to the story of what Boruto and his team faced.
He scratched at his bandagesonce more.
There was a possibility that they could face something sinister. It seemed clear to Shikadai that something in the ninja world was stirring. Something different from the Sunagakure rebellion.
He continued with his team, unsure musings causing him to furrow his brow in silent reflection.
EARLIER THAT MORNING..
SARADA woke with a start. Her arm ached. Despite her mother's healing, it still had to be bandaged and re-bandaged every time the sun rose. Sarada sighed, leaving her bed for a waiting dresser.
I shouldn't feel sorry for myself.
Himawari..
Sarada was able to visit Hima briefly yesterday. Boruto, The Hokage, and Lady Uzuamki were there, of course. Boruto..
He could barely speak. When Sarada looked at him, she could tell from his face how much pain he was in.
She felt much of the same.
They had all watched as Himawari was nearly beaten to death. It was beyond not helping-
It was the fact that they couldn't do anything. Sarada shut her eyes, tears threatening them as she bandaged a thrashed arm.
I told Boruto to stay back. If he hadn't done what he did..
Sarada opened her eyes, wiping them with determination.
I have to get stronger.
She was an Uchiha.
Sarada herself wasn't even quite sure of what that name meant to the village, but she knew that regardless of it being reverence or infamy..
It was a name that was known. And further, it was one she had a responsibility to.
That thought brought anger to Sarada's mind.. an emotion she had felt many times when it came to anything pertaining to her father.
She-
Sarada's thoughts grew silent as she stilled movement.
She narrowed sharp eyebrows, dark purple hair flying behind her head like a hawk.
I thought I heard something last night-
Voices.
It was mom and..
Sarada's eyes widened as realization echoed throughout her nerves.
That voice.. it's..
The young Uchiha leapt across a small room, turning into a jump as she rushed downstairs. The voices grew quieter at the sound of her footsteps- but she didn't care.
Sarada's eyes strained- she rounded the last corner before entering her kitchen. She stopped-
Sakura was silent.
Sarada's mother stood- her face was tired.. but happy. Before her, a tall man loomed with his back to Sarada. The shape and wave of his hair was exactly like Sarada's, save for the color.
Sarada looked down to the man's boots. Then, she glanced up at the back of his head.
"You.." Sarada snarled.
Sakura stepped forward.
"Sarada.." she began. Sarada's dark eyes narrowed past the man's shoulder.
Sarada maintained her composure as her body shook.
She saw them then- the eyes of the village. The eyes of scorn, derision. The eyes that cared little of her ability, her devotion. Eyes that saw only the crest on her back-
Uchiha.
"I've suffered.. we've suffered so much!" Sarada did begin to yell then.
"And he just decides to come back?! After abandoning everything?!" Sarada stood defiantly, striking her fist against her chest.
"Turn around, Sasuke Uchiha..." Sarada rasped.
Sakura opened her mouth to speak again, but Sasuke raised his hand in silent protest. Sasuke turned.
His face was younger than what Sarada had remembered, and he bore the same look as she did. They had the same eyes, the same nose, the same jaw.
It was clear that they were both the thing that seemed so reviled, the thing that was nearly scrubbed from all the history books Sarada read, the unspeakable thing written on her very face when they saw her.
Uchiha.
"What is it that you want?" Sasuke asked brusquely.
Sarada lowered her head as a new wave of anger washed over her.
"What is it that I want?" Sarada retorted bitterly.
Sasuke nodded, unfazed.
"From this. Your anger is justified.. I can understand it." Sasuke said quietly.
Sasuke's voice beat around Sarada's head almost like a heavy rain.
What is it I want?!
A thousand questions basked in the pain of her early childhood built up within Sarada to such degrees she felt as if she were close to vomiting.
She lurched over, before forcing herself into a steel, steady calm.
Sarada leveled her cold eyes onto Sasuke.
He met her gaze.
"I want to know the truth." Sarada said.
"It would only serve to harm you." Sasuke replied instantly.
Sarada gritted her teeth, curling both hands again into tight fists.
"I deserve to know!" She shouted. Sarada cackled cynically then.
"And since when did you care about harm? I don't even know who you are!" Sarada stepped forward, her voice rising with righteous indignation.
"I deserve to know! I'm not stupid! There's something everyone is hiding! Even mom!"
Sakura's face fell as a silent tear escaped her eye. Sarada felt a pang of guilt then, before noticing she was crying too.
It's his fault.
No one would feel like this if it weren't for him! I know mom doesn't want to lie to me! It's you!
"...I can and will tell you. I promise you that. But now..I can't do that to you.. I'm sorry, Sarada-"
Sarada rushed at Sasuke. Chakra pooled into her right fist as she threw it squarely for his chest.
Sasuke didn't move, and Sarada stopped inches short of a blow that she knew he wasn't defending against.
"Fine..." Sarada looked down as she stepped backwards, fist shaking.
"Fine, if that's how it is!" She laughed.
"If everyone is content to keep lying.. fine. but.. I want to fight you. I want you to see that I became powerful without you, I want you to see I don't need you! It doesn't matter that you're here!"
Sasuke simply nodded.
Sakura made one protest, but Sasuke simply ignored her. The man stalked out of the house, darkness still clutching the world outside.
He paused.
Sarada rushed to her shoes, then chased the man out the door.
As she left the warmth of her home, the man instantly increased his speed. He leapt from building to building with silent whispers, nearly as fast as the birds flying above.
He's already testing me!
Sarada increased her speed, using advanced chakra control to fuel her body. In seconds, she was paced with Sasuke.
They quickly traversed the multiple domed roofs of Konoha- Sarada could tell they were headed for the west gate.
So.. we're leaving the village..
Sarada continued to follow sasuke as the man blinked through Konoha's gate, Sarada following in the wake of shifting air.
They hopped across a nearby stream, trees above wavering in the now warming orange hue of the sun.
Outside konoha's walls, various houses were scattered about. A significant amount of people lived in the ever expanding countryside, finding their home in the shade of the Land of Fire, nestled between giant trees that had bore witness to eras of countless war and conflict.
It was here Sarada and Sasuke found themselves. Sarada continued after the wavering black cloak before her-
Sasuke abruptly stopped.
To their right, a small, modest home waited underneath the gaze of a towering tree. A single file of smoke rose above the dwelling, while warm lights reflected from three windows staggered amongst the home's floors.
Sasuke gripped his sword.
Sarada stepped forward, before passing her eyes across the house once more.
Wait..
This is Sumire's house!
Just as Sarada was about to speak, Sasuke let go of his weapon.
He turned his head halfway to regard Sarada, his one visible brow sharply cutting downwards.
"I thought.. I sensed something." Sasuke looked back at the home once more, before shaking his head.
He resumed their journey.
They moved through the wood in relative silence. Sarada said nothing, and Sasuke offered no conversation.
Sarada's anger still simmered.
For him to simply return.. as if nothing happened..!
The young Uchiha felt pain behind her right eye. She blinked away the searing burn, focusing a hate filled glare at the world ahead of her.
Finally, they left the long belt of trees. They came across a wide valley, filled with wavering white flowers and tall grass. Far in the distance, a large slab of stone stood..
Bearing the Uchiha crest.
Sasuke began walking. Sarada followed closely behind. She wanted to ask where they were.. but she also didn't want to speak to him yet. Not yet..
Not until I prove to you I don't need you! You don't deserve to be here!
With that thought, Sarada stamped her feet firmly to the ground.
"Enough walking, Sasuke!" She clasped her hands together as chakra began infusing within her.
Sasuke dipped his head, accepting her challenge.
Sarada vanished in the air.
She appeared above Sasuke, leg kicking down at the crown of his head.
He stepped backwards-
Sarada threw herself to Sasuke's right.
He thought I was going to land right in front of him!
Sarada's hands weaved together in rehearsed seconds.
"Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!" Sarada belched an orb of flame- hitting Sasuke close range as sound and smoke exploded from the epicenter of the blast.
Boring, Sasuke!
Sarada spun on her heels, dodging to the left as Sasuke extended a kick meant for her head.
He pivoted, before landing gracefully before her.
A lull.
Sarada raised her arms-
Sasuke exploded in a gasp of air.
He appeared before Sarada, swiping a leg across both of hers. She fell backward, recovering into a roll as Sasuke continued his advance.
She kicked into a standing position, forcing Sasuke back as he moved his arm and legs in defense.
"You're more skilled than the Uzumaki boy," Sasuke commented.
Sarada remained silent, sliding backwards as she threw her hands behind her back.
It's time.. I've grown used to the difference in our height and strength. Now.. Begins the real offensive!
Sarada produced four shuriken, flaring them like cards as she crossed her arms.
She broke into a run, flinging each arm to the left and right. The shuriken swirled around Sasuke, before clashing against each other and changing course- now aimed for his eyes.
Sarada ran ahead-
Sasuke vanished.
"How-"
Sarada felt a hand on her shoulder-
She relaxed her muscles, freeing herself from Sasuke's grip before he could take hold.
Sarada hopped backwards, panting. Sasuke didn't pursue.
"You're stronger than I expected." Sasuke said.
"If you're this strong.. why weren't you able to help Himawari?" Sasuke asked.
Sarada's eyes widened as her blood thumped.
"I know what happened. I know.. that boy- Boruto Uzumaki.. fought the creature away from her. Yet.. you're stronger than him. What is it that he has.. that you lack?" Sasuke stepped forward.
Sarada hissed.
"You.. you have no right to speak!" She ran-
Sasuke vanished again.
How is he doing this?!
Sarada felt the air from Sasuke's rounding kick-
But didn't have the muscle strength to evade it.
His boot connected with her jaw, sending her crashing into the ground.
Sasuke's shadow loomed over Sarada-
She tapped into her chakra, zipping backwards as Sasuke's fist crushed a small crater into the ground where she once stood.
Sarada sniffed- she noticed then her nose was bleeding.
Sarada wiped away the blood, leveling her gaze with Sasuke's.
Himawari..
Could I have done more?
Could we have beaten that thing if I had-
Sarada's right eye began to sear again.
For Sasuke.. for him to accuse her, the man who abandoned his own family, his own daughter-
Sarada roared in anger. She flipped her hands together-
Sasuke's eyes widened in surprise.
"Yes, I know that jutsu!" Sarada bellowed.
"Fire Style: Phoenix Flower Jutsu!" Six globs of devouring fire shouted forth from Sarada, each of them speeding for Sasuke.
Sarada instantly chased after her own jutsu, hiding in the shadow of the furthest orb as she rounded on Sasuke's position.
She saw him- saw as he was about to be enveloped by three spheres of fire-
He vanished again.
But this time- Sarada noticed he reappeared somewhat before her trajectory.
I still don't get it.. but this answers two things!
One, if he could help it, he wouldn't have teleported near me! That means his ability is confined to his immediate area!
Two... He can't see me!
As the fire rounded for Sasuke, he raised his palm. Sarada's jutsu exploded against Sasuke's hand..
And then was drawn into it.
What-
Distracted, Sarada paused as her position was revealed. Sasuke wasted no time-
He jumped forward, unleashing a flurry of blows to Sarada's face and body.
No..
Sarada felt herself being pushed backward, blood flying from her mouth as Sasuke continued his attack.
No!
I won't lose! I refuse to feel this pain! This blood.. it isn't mine! I will not show weakness! Not to..
Sasuke's face flashed before Sarada's right eye.
Her anger.. her fury.. reached its boiling point.
Not to you, Sasuke Uchiha!
Sarada blinked. Her right eye burned-
But through it.. she could see Sasuke's movements.
No, beyond that.
She could see the tension of his muscles, the ending points of his arm, his fingers.
His strike.
Time seemed to have slowed, but now it was speeding up again. Sarada caught Sasuke's fist with her own, pushing a wave of chakra forth in such intensity it whipped at the wind.
For a moment, they both stood, fists touching.
Sasuke stared at her. His face.. he looked almost sad.
Finally, Sarada stepped backward.
"What..? What is it? You have nothing to say now?" Sarada raised her hands into a jutsu sign, preparing another attack-
Sasuke drew his blade. Sarada paused-
She stepped backwards as he approached.
However, Sasuke raised his blade's flat to Sarada's face, allowing her to see a wavering reflection.
In it, she saw that her right eye was now red.
A black ring circled within her pupil, while a small, ink-like tomoe rested at the crown of it.
"The.." Sarada stepped backwards.
"It seems it only manifested in one eye.. curious." Sasuke said as he appraised Sarada's gaze from a distance.
"What.. what is this..?" Sarada asked as Sasuke sheathed his sword.
"That is the legacy of the blood within you...the Sharingan."
"So.. this is the man Jigen's up in arms about?" Code yawned, peering over the body of a well-built individual, white hair flowing behind the corpse-like individual's head.
The man was enclosed in a blue incubation tube. Where his heart would be, a circle of the death scroll thudded, thinly hidden underneath a veil of discolored skin.
Amado chuckled from across the room.
"You shouldn't stand so close." He warned.
Code scoffed, unease somewhat tensing around his neck as he backed away.
"He feels almost like.."
"Otogane?" Amado finished, looking up at Code as he prepared a cigarette.
"Yes.. I knew that she was... related, in a sense, but.. for it to feel like this.." Code smiled.
"You're truly a monster, Amado. It's unfair you created a failure like me before you were capable of something to the level of... what was its name, again?" Code inquired.
"Kashin." Amado said simply, huffing darkly on his cigarette.
"Kashin Koji," the scientist finished with a smoky exhale, standing up to match Code's height.
"Sounds ancient." Code said. He wanted to know more, to tell the truth.. but he also didn't want to know anything about Otogane that would get him in trouble. Code had his use due to his relation to the Ten Tails.. but as a failed vessel, he knew he existed on borrowed time- and personal favor.
"So, what's with Kashin's left ar-" Code began.
Suddenly, the lab door crashed open.
Before either of them could react, Delta strode into the lab, purple eyes critical in their regard.
"Ah, just who I was looking for." Delta said, smiling thinly at Code.
Code instantly glowered.
They were both inners, and further, by all rights, Code was stronger than Delta.
However, it seemed that Delta held more favor with Jigen, and was able to leverage that favor into more and more authority within the organization.
I'm little more than the Ten Tail's handler..
Code frowned, masking his insecurities with a false air of confidence.
"Delta.. I'm surprised to still see you here. I thought Lord Jigen sent you off to die already." Code smiled with a grin dipped in hate.
Delta returned the look, eyes shining.
"Hmph.. that's actually why I'm here, dear Code." Delta began as she twirled on white boots.
Amado chuckled in the background as Code glared on, watching Delta cautiously.
"Kirigakure is a dangerous place.. Not to mention, if our new intel is correct.. the Fifth Hokage is there, as well." Delta reported.
Code shrugged.
"Afraid of an old war relic?" He said.
Delta pursed her lips into a smile.
"I want to ensure my mission is successful.. to enact Jigen's will. I need what you'd call.. a trump card."
Delta's hair bounced as she spoke. She playfully twisted at a long, blonde strand of it as Code digested her words.
"You have your own tools. Both your lower and upper guard still live." Code replied harshly.
Delta flashed her eyes, meeting Code's glare.
"I want Botäshirin."
Amado chuckled.
"Oh my..." the man laughed quietly. Code inhaled, lowering his voice to a hissing whisper.
"You've gone too far Delta. That-" Code rasped.
It was useless to resist- Code knew that.
But she couldn't. Delta couldn't possibly be that crazed..
"By all accounts, you should be stronger than her now. Is that fear I smell dripping from you, Code? Didn't you want your opportunity to burn her to a crisp?" Delta chuckled.
Code stomped his foot onto the lab floor, fire shooting upwards and around his body. He breathed haggardly- the density of Code's chakra began breaking various medical instruments within Amado's lab.
"Control yourself, Code. You'll threaten him." Amado said sternly.
Code looked away, flames dying down as Delta laughed boastfully.
"Ah, yes! It is that power I missed, Code. It is too bad I can't take you. However.. another failed vessel is just as fine." Delta smirked.
Code's glare darkened.
"I haven't given you her. And I refuse to." Code said with finality.
Amado sighed, turning back to his work.
Delta cooed mockingly.
"You know what I possess. Drop these foolish pretenses, and give me the key. I've grown bored of the smell in this room." Delta spat.
Code gritted his teeth.
He could continue to refuse her..
But she possessed the Seal.
Those who carried the Seal could command other Inners.. save for Amado and Otogane. They could even forcibly command outers and uppers, if it came to it.
In a way, the seal made Delta the third strongest member.
The seal, when activated, could control Code's mind.. rather painfully, and force him to give Delta what she wanted.
The young man sighed in defeat, opening his palm.
A zipper-like protrusion cut across his palm, blood momentarily spilling from the void-like wound.
From it, a key jumped. Delta grabbed it as it flew through the air, smiling as the smooth metal loudly slapped against her skin.
"Good boy." Delta smirked.
She turned, sauntering out of the room.
"I'll be sure to treat your former Upper with the utmost care.. Code!" Delta laughed as she vanished into the bowels of Kara's lower catacombs.
Amado twirled in his chair, crossing arms.
"That was interesting,to say the least." Amado raised his eyebrows towards Code.
"You- you could've stopped her!" Code protested.
Amado smiled.
"I guess that's true, I could've." He said as he typed at a diagnostic chart.
Code swore.
"...Botäshirin Zhenjin.." He whispered.
Botäshirin.
She had served under Code for some time.. before she went mad.
There were six failed vessels of Jigen. Each of them inherited a portion of his overall power.. Code was one of them.. Botäshirin was another.
The vessels of Jigen were considered failures as while they possessed powerful chakra, they were unable to perform Jutsu. All of them.. save for Botäshirin.
Due to her intellectual deficiency, she was made an upper. However, five years ago she had gone mad. She killed two inners, and then nearly killed Code.
It was Boro and Amado who eventually stopped her. They contained her in a special prison- the very same one she was hopefully decomposing in now.
"If she wants to unleash such a monster.. then she'll have Jigen to answer to. This doesn't involve me." Code said almost to himself in reassurance.
"Now there's a mature thought." Amado grinned.
Though.. if you dare bring Botäshirin back here.. I'll kill you both! Seal or not, Delta!
Code smirked at his dark musings, before leaving Amado to his corpsemen's work.
SWEAT dripped down Shojoji's face. He was hidden within the walls of an unassuming home. He hadn't moved for nearly six hours.
The home was occupied by a young girl and her mother and father. They were all Shinobi, but he could tell none of them posed any actual threat, combined or alone.
No, it wasn't them.
That chakra earlier.. it must've been the Hokage. I didn't expect to sense him..
Did the Hokage suspect something already? Was that even possible? Was there a ninja with that sort of sensory ability?
No. If the Hokage suspected something, the house would've been evacuated by now. But..
For a moment.. It was like something with incredible chakra was staring right at me!
Was it possible it was the same chakra that Lady Otogane felt..?
No. This was powerful chakra.. but not otherworldly. Which means my goal is still within Konoha.
Shojoji steeled his resolve. No doubt, after this mission Otogane would let him be.. perhaps for the rest of his life. All he had to do was gather intel.
This family.. he wouldn't take them, not yet.
But he knew that within this home.. his key into the village slept.
Shojoji smiled.
Yes. The world of Shinobi.. was quite cruel.
NEXT TIME, DOUBLE CHAPTER!
TO KIRIGAKURE! Then, YOUR FATHER'S JUTSU, THE RASENGAN!
13: YOUR FATHER'S JUTSU!
BORUTO
SACHI YAMANAKA.
Short, blonde hair bobbed against her forehead, framing frantic light blue eyes as a desperate gaze peered ahead. There was only one thing on her mind.
Shota.
Sachi clasped her hands together tightly, sweat making palms slick to the touch. She was in an abandoned home found choked between two crossing streams.
Kawa no kuni..
The land of Rivers.
The young kunoichi released a steady beacon of chakra.
If you're in danger.. or if you think Konoha is after you.. come to the Land of Rivers. I will be there. I will sense you.
Shota's parting words before all this began thrummed within Sachi's mind. He loved her. They loved each other-
Sachi's senses began to calm.
I've been running for almost two days.. but I'm safe now. I'm here. I trust Shota. More than anything.
The home she hid within was built of wood, with exposed windows on every wall. A doorway, broken, spilled into the woody area outside. From cuts within the roof sunshine splashed, leaving warm patterns that crossed Sachi's eyes along with the thoughts that raced behind them.
In the silence between now and fate, Sachi found herself thinking about the interrogation.
Inadvertently, she shook. Sachi suddenly remembered the headband still warming a cold forehead as guilt tunneled through her body.
Two Konoha nin were killed. Shota.. he promised no one would die.
He said that this would help Konoha in ways it refused to help itself- using old Uzumaki techniques to fuel new medical technology.. to save lives!
Sachi shuddered.
The Death God scrolls.
Scrolls that, like the rest of the village, were warded behind a complex spell of chakra that only the barrier team knew of. The chakra inscriptions changed monthly.. However, Sachi had an innate ability.
Her sensory jutsu seemed to be able to decode chakra she felt. She understood the components of most jutsu, and while she couldn't perform the jutsu she experienced, she at least could record it, and knew how to replicate it. This was a skill that only Shota knew of.
Which is why when he asked for her help..
I wanted him to value me. To love me. He.. Shota isn't evil. I didn't think there would be any ha-
Sachi's emotions exploded as a familiar chakra suddenly stepped through an empty doorframe. She nearly leapt from her hiding place, smiling as her blue eyes locked onto an angular, handsome face shrouded by dark hair.
Shota smiled back softly. His skin was fair, smooth and unblemished, save for the red circles underneath his eyes. His pupils were dark brown- brooding and intelligent. As Sachi ran to him he pulled her close, caressing her head as she softly began to cry.
"I'm so glad you're safe," Shota whispered. They separated for a moment. Sachi looked up at Shota, tears falling from his eyes. She pulled his face down to hers, wiping his tears as she kissed him softly.
"They..didn't seem to pursue me as much as I expected. Sai must've held them back." Sachi said almost neutrally.
The shock of meeting Shota again.. after all of this.. it made it seem almost as if the last two days weren't real. But now that he was here-
"Two people died, Shota..!" Sachi whispered, almost as if she was still within Konoha's walls. She loved Shota.. but she needed to understand what was happening, and what this meant for them.
Shota gave her a look of genuine surprise. He then glanced away, out towards one of the windows and then to the wooded fields beyond.
He was silent.
"Shota! Please! I just.. I'm scared, Shota! I left everything for you!" Sachi pleaded.
Shota did look at her then. He slowly lifted his hand to Sachi's face, before cusping his palm against her cheek.
Sachi's heart ached.
Sho-
The thatched roof above cracked away with a violent, splintering bark. Sachi immediately turned, eyes wide as a scream filled her lungs.
A white, foxlike dog with blue eyes stood amongst the smoking debris. But that wasn't what filled her with terror.
No, far from it.
The upper body of a human girl was stitched to the dog's back, dried blood forming a matted, red ring around the girl's torso. Her arms dragged across the wood floor, while dark red hair veiled a lowered head.
Sachi.. she recognized the dog. It was Junban, one of Shota's ninken. Sachi knew Shota was interested in studying human biology.. but to do this..
This.. this is wrong!
Sachi stepped backwards.
Is this why Kiba expelled you, Shota?!
"Shota.. what did y-"
Sachi felt the weight of movement behind her.
She turned her head just as the tip of a kunai slashed across her neck. Sachi spun around, blood splattering against the wood.
Shota regarded her as she fell to her knees, blood pouring down a green flak jacket.
She tried to speak, tried to curse. Tried to scream. But she couldn't. Before she died, the last thing she saw were the tears in Shota's eyes.
"The Rasengan...?" Konohamaru repeated.
Boruto glared at Konohamaru, folding his arms across a purple shirt as the man groggily rubbed his eyes.
"Yes. I need to get stronger. Mastering the rasengan is a step towards that." Boruto said softly. As he spoke, the image of Himawari's mangled body reverberated throughout his mind.
Konohamaru's tiredness seemed to fade away as he nodded knowingly. But then, question painted over the man's face.
"I offered to teach you before..what changed?" Konohamaru raised an eyebrow.
Boruto looked away as a rising sun warmed his back.
"Sasuke Uchiha."
Alarm replaced confusion within Konohamaru.
"Sasuke Uchiha?" Konohamaru frowned.
"So.. he's returned."
Boruto nodded.
"He said he would help me become stronger.. if I can learn it." Boruto clasped his bandaged hand into a tight fist.
"The rasengan." Boruto finished.
Konohamaru remained silent. Boruto looked at him for some time, wondering what exactly was on the man's mind. His brows were furrowed, brown eyes focused on Boruto but somehow also past him.
Finally, Konohamaru spoke.
"Your dad.. the Hokage." Konohamaru graced Boruto with a slack smile.
"I know he trusts Sasuke Uchiha. No, it's beyond that."
Morning wind blew, causing Konohamaru's curly hair to rustle in the breeze.
"They're brothers. They love each other. But.."
Konohamaru's eyes snapped towards Boruto's.
"Sasuke did things that aren't forgivable. Things that-"
Unlike himself, Boruto interrupted.
"What things? What happened before the war, Sensei?" Boruto asked.
Sarada had spoken to him about her suspicions about the Uchiha, and he learned about their role in the war during his studies at the academy. But.. Other than that, there was absolutely no information on the clan itself.
When they were younger, it didn't stand out. But now...
It's clear that something happened. Something they're hiding from us.
"I.. I'm sorry, Boruto. I shouldn't get into this." Konohamaru sighed harshly, waving the subject away with both hands.
"Just know that.. Sasuke's path isn't the only way. I know what you want, Boruto. I had the same look in my eyes when I was your age. You want to succeed. To become stronger."
Konohamaru clasped Boruto's shoulder, offering a wide smile.
"Don't forget about the people who care about you. Sasuke.. he isolated himself. He thought only he could change things. I.. don't want you to become like that." Konohamaru said.
Boruto looked down, absorbing his Sensei's words.
He wanted to ask more, but he knew that Konohamaru was trying to keep something secret.
He didn't want to push the issue. Konohamaru deserved more than a pointless argument.
"With that said.. I can't imagine a greater honor than teaching you the rasengan, Boruto." Konohamaru grinned, curling his hand into a fist, eyes filled with fiery vigor.
"Back then.. your father was more than a Sensei. He was.. like an older brother to me. He's my family." Konohamaru affirmed.
"That means you are too!" Konohamaru offered his fist to Boruto.
Boruto raised his eyebrow.
"It's.. like the unison sign. Consider it an agreement. It's a promise I'll teach you your father's jutsu." Konohamaru said.
"Hmph." Boruto scoffed.
Nonetheless, he tapped a clenched fist against Konohamaru's own.
They began immediately.

Differences Between Albino Parakeet (Budgie) and Lutino Budgie
New Post has been published on https://www.petculiars.com/albino-parakeet-budgie-and-lutino-budgie/
Differences Between Albino Parakeet (Budgie) and Lutino Budgie
Among the most popular birds to be kept as pets are parakeets, which come in a multitude of powerful, beautiful colors. Out of all the parakeets, there are some that look really different, really unique. So what exactly are the differences between an albino parakeet (called a budgie) and a Lutino budgie?
You will find out all about this in the article below.
Parakeets are smaller members of the parrot family. They are also called budgies or Budgerigars and are very beautiful birds to own as pets.
They will usually grow to around 7 to 8 inches in length and are considered plant-eaters, or herbivores.
You might also like my articles on cockatiel care tips, cardinal bird sleeping schedules, and whether birds can suffer from down syndrome.
When they receive proper health maintenance routine and decent care, these birds will easily live for 10 or more years in captivity.
They can be found in all kinds of bold, bright colors, including whites, yellows, blues, greens, and purples, among others.
A parakeet is smart enough to be trained with ease. It will listen to its owner’s commands, as long as it trusts them.
They are sociable creatures that like companionship and are friendly enough to interact quite nicely with others. They will even be happier if they are handled by loving people on a daily basis.
Why do Parakeets have so many colors?
Most parakeets can be found in a combination of orange, white, purple, blue, yellow, or green. The reason behind the multitude of colors for their feathers is genetics.
The color of a bird’s feathers will usually depend on the color lines of the parents, just as the human hair color will be genetically inherited.
I`ll try to go into even more detail below.
Parakeet Color Genetics
There are actually just two main types of parakeet birds: there is a blue type and a green type.
You will notice that the green type of budgie will have a yellow base color. This translates into their feathers having different types of yellow on them
The body of the green type will also have a blue coloring on the feathers of the body, which combined with the yellow base, will make its body look green. Their head will typically be yellow.
On the other hand, the blue type will only have a white base color, which combined with the blue on their body, will create a bird with a blue body and a white head.
The Ino Gene
We can go even further into parakeet genetics and talk about individual genes.
The color differences between different types of parakeets are usually given by the Ino gene.
Considering that the Lutino and the albino parakeets are born this way due to the Ino gene, they are also known as Inos.
This gene is responsible for removing the blue coloring for both the blue type and the green type, making the blue type look white and the green one yellowish, almost like the color of vanilla. It will also remove any other colors the birds would have had on their feathers.
The Lutino or albino budgies will also have different colors on the skin and the eyes as well due to the Ino budgerigar genetic mutation.
The Ino gene is present both in albino and Lutino parakeets, being completely responsible for their unique colors.
The two genetic variations, the Lutino, and the albino parakeets will have either red or pink eyes with a white ring surrounding the iris, light pink skin, and beaks of bright orange.
Basically, the Lutino term refers to the yellow Ino, while the Albino name is given to the white Inos.
The Ino Feather Color Breakdown
The green type of parakeets having the Ino gene will become Lutino budgies.
This gene will give them a yellow skin color, while also removing their blue markings and coloring.
This means that lutino birds will be yellow in color and have no particular markings. The color is similar to what you’d find on the feathers of a canary.
Although they don’t have a lot of colors on them, they still are great-looking birds.
The blue type of parakeets that have the Ino gene is called the Albino budgie. The Ino gene will make their skin white while removing any blue markings or coloring.
This means that the albino parakeets will be solid white with no other color markings.
What is an Albino Parakeet?
A bird suffering from albinism will basically have the same colors as the animals that suffer from this condition. They will usually be white, with pink or red eyes, and pink skin.
All of the feathers of a parakeet suffering from albinism will be white, while its legs will be pink, and its cere brown or pink. The eyes will be either red or pink.
What is a Lutino Budgie?
Along with the albino budgies, there are other types of budgies that will also feel the effects of the Ino gene.
A green type of parakeet affected by the mutation caused by the Ino gene is called a Lutino budgie.
This is a budgie that should have been green but the Ino gene has caused it to have a beautiful yellow color instead.
This type of bird has either red or pink eyes and its cere and legs are brown or pink in color.
Albino vs Lutino Budgies
Although a lot of people would confuse lutino and albino parakeets, they actually have some pretty important differences between them.
Although both of these two types of parakeets have the notorious Ino gene, it makes them develop different colors. In this sense, the albino one is all white, while the lutino budgie is yellow.
So, you can usually differentiate between these two types pretty easily, based on the feather color of the budgies.
Male or Female Albino Parakeet?
Some male budgies will have a blue cere (the noseband that has the nostrils) but others will have pink ceres instead.
The cere of female lutinos and albinos will be brown.
Are Albino and Lutino Budgies rare?
These two species of parakeets are in fact pretty rare.
If you want to get these types of birds you will usually be able to find one for sale, although it will be harder because they are rare and you will be charged more.
Caring For an Albino or Lutino Budgie
An albino or lutino budgie won’t require any special care as opposed to any other types of budgies.
This genetic difference isn’t considered a condition or a disease and it won’t make them more vulnerable than other types of birds.
Some species of animals might have vision or skin problems that can be associated with albinism, but this isn’t the case with these parakeets.
You will have to take care of them just as you would with any other parakeet pets.
Good parakeet pet care includes:
Proper Sleeping Environment
Opportunities to socialize and exercise
Adequate housing
Fresh, clean water
High-quality nutrition
Proper hygiene
Summary:
You can’t argue that both albino and lutino budgies are not only unique in coloring but also very beautiful. It might be a little harder to find one in pet shops but if you do manage to get one, you won’t have to offer it any special conditions or special care. You should raise it as you’d do to any other pet parakeet.
