Delivery
Pairing: Jason Todd x Reader
Summary: Lately your grocery list was looking a little small, your cleaning supplies were never running out, and you don’t remember buying these soaps? Who was the one refilling all your stuff?
Word Count: 1.5k
Something was off.
You were writing your list for your weekly shopping errands to refill any soap, groceries, or cleaning supplies running low, but nothing was empty. Half a bottle at best.
It had been bothering you that your large restocks that made you wince at the end of the month looking at the large receipt had minimized to five items at most.
How was this possible?
You didn’t cut down on spending or on using less items, but now that you look at your kitchen, everything was well stocked.
You counted the amount of extra paper towel rolls, the extra unopened cleaning spray that you do not remember buying, and the new bottle of cooking oil in your cabinet.
This was suspicious, very suspicious.
Call yourself the world’s second greatest detective because you narrowed down the culprit restocking your home.
“That red tin man…” You firmly looked over to the window, the shiny, newly replaced lock calling your name. “Let’s see how well your safety measures work.”
You shut the window, doubling the two locks installed by Jason himself, giving you a personal pep talk ensuring that no one is getting in. Not even him, especially him.
With some duct tape, you taped layers over the window seal. As you looked at your work, you thought to yourself…bookcase, yes. A large bookcase.
With heavy breaths, you pushed the bookcase in front of the window.
You were not letting in your not-an-actual-burglar tonight. Now you would wait.
Jason was off patrol, his muscles ached, his helmet felt heavy, but he was grappling his way to the small 24-hour mart that he has been cutting the cameras at.
As much as he wouldn’t be shopping with his gear on, the small store was enough for him for a quick shop and the cashier was a tired college student who couldn’t care less about who walked through the sliding doors.
He remembered you were running low on some hand soap in the kitchen and a replacement seasoning salt.
He hummed as he shopped, walking up to the counter to leave extra cash and disappearing before the cashier had time to turn back to give him back his change.
Jason softly landed on the fire escape outside your window. He waited to watch and listen for any movement inside your apartment.
The lights were off and you had to be asleep.
It was perfect for a quick look in, place the items, and go back to his safe house.
He gripped the window, gently trying to lift with the shopping bag on his arm. When it wouldn’t budge, he tried one more time with a little more force.
He put down the plastic bag and noticed you were using the lock he installed. It brought a small smirk to his face at the thought of you utilizing something he made himself.
When he looked closer, he realized the small sliver of light on the edge of the window, blurring from the curtain.
Something was blocking the light, your lights hadn’t been off at all.
As Jason was going to turn on his infrared lenses, his phone vibrated in his pocket.
You: so you were my burglar
Jason held in his laugh, fully piecing the situation together.
Jason: but I haven’t stolen anything
You: so breaking and entering? This is illegal trespassing sir
Jason: glad the lock works, but have to deduct points for the duct tape
You: if it can hold cars together, it can hold my window shut, even better if it keeps vigilantes out of my home
Jason: but I still have your apartment keys
You: yes, jay, you do. So please use my front door cause you are welcome to use it
Jason reread the message. He held his eyes on the word “welcome,” feeling his chest tighten slightly.
Jason: let me change. Be back in 10
Jason felt like an idiot, realizing he had been caught. He pulled an ordinary T-shirt over his head. His matted hair slightly fraying to the movement.
He exhaled in exhaustion as he pulled a jacket over his shoulders and grabbed the plastic bag from earlier.
How was he going to explain?
Hey, sorry, I’ve just been breaking in and refilling your groceries and anything that seems to be running low? I also got you some seasoning salt, you were running out.
Jason smacked the side of his head.
You had to be pissed because you locked the window and clearly barricaded it.
Jason got to your door, somehow, he felt his eye-bags deepen, his frown get stronger, and his hands felt colder.
With reluctance, he knocked three times. You had unlocked the door surprisingly fast, he figured you were waiting right there until he got to your apartment.
“Come in.” You left the door open for Jason, walking back to the kitchen to pour your tea.
Jason noticed how tired you looked. He felt even worse picturing you staying up until he attempted to open your window.
What if he hadn’t come by tonight?
He didn’t move from the door, watching from just outside your apartment.
“I just wanted to bring these over, I’ll leave now.” He tried to run. He needed to leave before you told him to never come back.
“Jay…” You walked over, grabbing onto his sleeve while guiding him inside. He was cold. “Shoes off. Sit on the couch.”
He immediately obeyed not wanting to anger you more.
You followed and sat next to him, your comfy clothes sinking into the cushion.
Jason looked over to the bookcase you clearly moved not long ago.
“I didn’t realize I hired a delivery man. Actually, I’m more embarrassed I finally realized what you’ve been doing.” You sipped at your cup. “How long?”
Jason tilted his head at your question.
“How long, Jay?” You emphasized.
“Five months, 2 weeks.”
“Five months?!”
“I made sure to make it very subtle, but eventually I…got carried away.” Jason admitted, his body stiffening the more honest he became.
“Jay…I’m not mad.” You reached out to grab his hand, kneading warmth into his bruised knuckles. “Really. I just need you to tell me when you do this.”
“But the bookcase and the lock.” Jason subtly relaxed to your touch, but he was far from leaning into the couch comfortably.
“Okay, I was a little mad, but that was because I had only realized that I haven’t properly restocked anything in a while. I looked at my store apps and card history and I had nothing. Just snacks or last-minute purchases.” You sighed, signaling Jason to give you his other hand to warm.
“You were busy…and I thought I could get them for you. I made sure to get the right ones.” Jason watched your hands, refusing to look at you directly.
“I know. You did so well that I took so long to realize. But, I work. I can get these things and you can get me things too, but let me know, please. That would help me out a lot and so I can thank you.”
“But I don’t do it for your words. I like helping you. If it lessens your stress, I’ll do it for you.” Jason reasoned. He was stubbornly defending his actions because you were at the root of his mind.
You were at a loss for words.
“It did help me out a lot, but it also confused me when I had an unlimited bar of soap.” You chuckled.
The sound of your laugh eased Jason. His shoulders sunk a little lower at your tension easing.
“No more frowning.” You rubbed the edges of his mouth and his furrowed brow. “I found out, you owe me dessert tomorrow, and you can get back your window privileges when you let me know when you buy me something.” You yawned.
“I said that I don’t do it to hear you thank me—“ He tried to remind you.
“I know, but I’m tired from trying to catch my burglar and I want to cuddle.” You opened your arms, waiting for Jason to ease into your embrace.
“I’m not a burglar.” Jason argued, taking off his jacket and laying into the couch, grabbing you to lay on top of him. “Did you also take another shift? You look exhausted.”
You rubbed Jason’s eye-bags when you settled comfortably. You were probably matching his raccoon eyes.
“Kiss me and I’ll go to sleep.” You smiled, sleepily touching Jason’s stubble with your hands.
He leaned into your hands, while gripping underneath your chin to bring his face to yours. The sweet touch of your lips was enough to get Jason to fully relax into you, to take in the moment and trust that you weren’t mad at him for what he was doing. It had been with good intentions, but he was just taking a different route.
“Go to bed.” Jason leaned your head onto his chest.
Your eyes got heavy, your breathing was starting to even out, but you had one last idea.
“If you tell me when you buy something, I’ll give you a kiss.” You faded into a deep sleep.
Jason had never forgot to tell you again, he even purposefully bought you extra things you didn’t need to buy.
You eventually had to start setting limits and unlocked your window for your favorite vigilante visits.

Hey, so, I've always used heat mats with glass enclosures to heat my corn snakes' enclosures but recently I got this 4x2x2 PVC enclosure and I'm quickly learning that's no longer an option...
How do you heat your own PVC enclosure? Is the heat source outside or safely contained inside? And because I'm getting mixed answers about this, do you think basking rocks are safe?
Hey friend!
For my PVC enclosures, I use Flexwatt heat tape on the outside of the enclosure and control it with a Reptile Basics thermostat. My Animal Plastics PVC enclosures have a groove on the underside of the cage bottom where the thermostat probe goes, and I calibrate my temperature on the inside each season with an infrared heat gun.
Another good option for heating PVC is a radiant heat panel and thermostat combo, which would go inside the cage instead of outside (thermostat body outside, probe and RHP inside).
I think basking rocks get a bit vilified because they have historically been used incorrectly and can very easily overheat and cause injury to your animal and/or damage to your enclosure. When controlled with a quality thermostat, they should be perfectly safe. The issue with basking rocks, though, is that they heat only a very small area so they're not ideal for creating the heat gradient necessary for your snake. Also it's a pain to figure out where to put the thermostat probe so that it gets a proper reading without getting knocked around by your pet. Also they get ka-poo'ed on and they're basically impossible to clean properly. Sooo... Maybe no basking rocks.

they should have a pro wrestling match where it takes place entirely in the dark, as a stipulation or w/e. no infrared cameras so the audience can see or whatever just. there's sounds of people hitting the mat and then 5-10 minutes later the lights turn back on and somebody's pinned

metal, nuts, bolts, and a hell of a lot of blaster residue (chapter 4.)
din djarin x female mechanic reader.
chapter 4 word count:
warnings/tags: graphic depictions of violence, reader is a mechanic, found family, din djarin speaks mando'a, din and reader are both very touch starved, i don't know how fictional money works, din djarin is a bottom, smut written and proofread by an asexual, din and reader have ptsd, canon is dead and i killed it, no use of y/n
Your breathing was hitched, irregular, and shallow. Were they speeding up? No, he must have been imagining things. His blasted audio processing unit must have gotten damaged in the explosion. No, your breaths were speeding up. It’s clear now. Your breaths are panicked, even- there’s no denying the fact that you have something bothering you, probably something from your past. This is not the time to ask that, though. This is the time to help.
“Hey, listen to me. It’s okay. You’re going to be okay. The ship just needs some small repairs. Can you breathe for me?” His hands immediately reach for your upper arms, kneeling in front of you. His armor hits the floor of the ship with a resounding clang, but he couldn’t care less. His only focus is you, and with his infrared sensors engaged, he can easily tell that you’re rapidly overheating, her cheeks, arms, and chest fiery red with blood flow and open capillaries.
You breathe, deep yet labored, and he can hear you try to fill your lungs fully before you groan, a sound so clearly loud, pained, and unfiltered, your knees giving out as you fall next to him, gripping your ribs with your right hand, your left still bandaged from elbow to lower forearm. Din can’t help but wonder, even if for a fraction of an instant, if he could make you make those sounds out of pleasure rather than pain before rapidly pushing the thought out of his mind. She’s injured, you horny fuck. Stop thinking with your dick and think with your brain. You scoot backwards until your back hits the half wall of drawers supporting his sleeping mat, letting your head fall backwards, and Mando does the same, sitting to your right.
“Maker, that hurts like a bitch,” you say, your breaths still ragged but slightly more even. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine,” Din says, brushing it off. Why isn’t she thinking about herself, for Maker’s sake?  “Are you?”
“I will be.” You hesitate for a moment, the infrared silhouette of your body shifting, your head lifting up slightly. “Are you sure you’re okay? You’re shaking.” It’s only then that Din realizes he’s placed his left hand on your right knee, a previous action that went completely unnoticed by his conscience. “And be honest,” you add. “No lies.”
“Seriously, I’ll be okay. You just… your heart is racing, your body temperature is way too high to be normal, and your muscles are super tense-” Din cuts himself off. If his… life experience… had taught him anything, it was the biological human female body’s reaction to arousal. But there was no way that you, a woman who was so unapologetically herself and who could (and would) make his whole day turn around simply by smiling and waving at him, all the while he hid behind a metal mask and wall of armor, could possibly be attracted to him like that. Right?
A sigh and slight laugh draws his attention back to you. “Yeah, I guess it is. But let me ask you a question, too. Have you ever considered that I might feel the same way about you?” Din’s heart nearly stops. Did you really just say that? Are his auditory processors going fritzy again? “Because I do,” you continue, your voice coy and intriguing in all the right ways to make Din’s head spin and his imagination run wild as you hoist yourself up and onto his lap with a quiet groan, settling down high on his big thighs. Your arms come up to rest on his armored shoulders as you continue speaking, seemingly absentmindedly. “And I’ve been wondering for an awfully long time what it would be like to kiss you. But since your Creed won’t let that happen, then I guess I’ll have to opt for other ways to feel you. If that’s okay with you, of course.”
Din can barely think. Where was this sudden boldness from? Had it always been there, creeping into comments shared in passing and in conversation or was it new, something foreign and unexplored? Every cell in his body is screaming at him to grab her and take off his helmet and kiss you so hard that you don’t even feel the pain of your injuries, but his mind knows better. The Creed… if the Armorer found out that your hands were sliding down his shoulders and arms, making his pants grow tight under barely a fragment of your touch, and that he was even remotely thinking about removing his helmet for you, he’d have to search for the living waters on Mand’alor.
What the Armorer didn’t know wouldn’t hurt her, though… right?
It’s almost like you can read his mind, because your hands rest under the edges of his helmet and his attention snaps back to you once more. “Can I take your helmet off since it’s dark?” Din exhales, a shaky, nervous sound, and he can't tell if the tingling deep in his stomach is from anxiety or from eagerness. “You don’t have to say yes to any of this, you know.”
“No, I want to, I really do. I just haven’t taken my helmet off in front of someone, even in absolute darkness, since I took the Creed.” He’s embarrassed at how shaky his voice is and how his nerves are on fire everywhere you touch him. Maker, please don’t let her feel how hot my skin is right now. Anything but that. The only things he can concentrate on are how amazing you feel in his lap, your hips lined up with his and your thighs tight around his waist.
“That’s okay,” you say, your voice so soft and gentle that Din thinks it might just be enough to melt the Armorer’s heart. “If you don’t want to take it off, I won’t be mad at you at all. It might even be more fun. Who knows?”
“You can take my helmet off,” Din says, his voice barely louder than a whisper. He can tell, with the infrared scanners, that your head tilts slightly and a smile you’re trying to smother is pulling at her lips.
“You sure?” you clarify. “You want me to take your helmet off?”
“Yes.”
“Yes, what?”
Is she serious? “There’s a lot of options of words that could follow that, you know. You’re going to have to be more specific.” The smile is gone now, replaced by a disappointed pout.
“I need verbal confirmation that you’re okay with this, Mando.”
Oh. That’s what you wanted. Of the myriad of things you could’ve had him say, you chose for him to clarify his consent. As if he couldn’t fall any harder for you.
“Yes. I’m okay with you taking off my helmet.” The words leaving his mouth don’t even feel real, yet they’re clawing their way out of his throat, tumbling off of his tongue and prying past his lips before he can even think about stopping them. Your hands search their way up his body, slowly crawling up his arms, his shoulders, and his neck, until your fingers are gentle on his helmet, and Din can feel the warmth of your hands on the skin of his neck- it’s a heat so gentle he’s convinced it’s a trick of his mind at first. But then your knuckles graze his cheeks as you lift the heavy Beskar over his lips, his nose, and his eyes, and suddenly any semblance of sight he had left from the infrared scanners in his helmet is gone and he’s thrown into complete darkness. He feels the weight finally lift off of his head and, with it, releases a sigh, then swallows as much air as he can.
“Hi, Mando,” you say, your voice perfect and pure and real. The warm tingles (an annoyingly stupid but wonderfully pleasant feeling that he can’t figure out if he loves or hates) bubbling low in his stomach, and his breath catches, because he’s finally hearing your voice with his own ears and not a slightly muffled version he hears through his helmet. It’s rough and gravelly, likely from the ash and dust thrown into the air from the bomb, but he wouldn’t change a thing if he had the chance. He can hear his helmet hit the ground oh-so-quietly, your weight shifting to his right slightly. When your voice lands in his ears, though, the giant breath he’d taken, catching the slightest scent of ash, dust and smoke likely left on her skin and woven into her hair, is stolen back from his lungs.
“Fuck,” he whispers. “I want to kiss you so bad right now.”
“Hm, I bet you do. I can feel just how much you do, actually.” You punctuate your words with a wiggle of your hips on his, your clothed crotch hot against his own. Din groans deep in his throat, his head falling backwards, exposing his neck, and his hands finding purchase at your waist from where they sat next to his own thighs. “So… why don’t you?”
The real reason that he wants to tell you is humiliating, given the circumstances and current position the two of them are in. “Because I wasn’t sure if you’d be okay with it.” You laugh, full and unfiltered.
“That’s so cute, baby. But given that I’m in your lap and can feel just how much you want to kiss me, I’d say that I’m okay with it.” You finish your sentence and Din can feel your breath ghosting over the bridge of his nose, your nose tickling the space between his eyebrows. Without being able to see, every little movement startles him, and he jumps slightly when he feels your breath on his lips, just the gentlest ghosting of a touch. Your breath smells like the berries you snacked on earlier when you thought he couldn’t see you, tangy and sweet. It’s a battle against his own will to keep his resolve and not lean up, kissing you like there’s no tomorrow.
And then you kiss him.
It’s so perfect, a gentle press of your lips against his, and butterflies and that stupid tingling feeling that was simmering boils over, exploding throughout his lower abdomen. You pepper the smallest of kisses to his lips again, waiting for him to reciprocate, so he does. Din leans forward, his arms sliding farther around her waist and pulling you impossibly closer. His erection pushes hard against his pants, and when you shift forward, your hips rolling and wiggling to alleviate the stress on your back, Din’s lips fall apart in a high-pitched whine that’s just downright pathetic for being a high and mighty Mandalorian. You don’t waste a split second, pushing your tongue, wide and hot, through his lips and around his mouth, to which Din can only groan deeper and meet you in the middle. His hips grind up into yours, hard and needy as your hands reach back and weave their way through his hair. With a tug of your fingers, curling them into fists and tugging hard on Din’s hair, the tingling deep in his belly only increases in intensity tenfold. The kiss is hot and messy, a hurricane of tongue and lips and teeth, and he swears that he could stay there for hours, just sitting on the floor of his ship in darkness deeper than space, kissing you and feeling your body against his, but it’s over before Din even feels like it’s begun as you pull away. If the moan he’d let out earlier was pathetic, the groan and jump forward of his lips chasing yours is humiliating. He’s panting, his chest heaving as his pulse races in his ears and his cock throbs, almost painfully now.
“Please.” That’s all he can get out as you dip your head down, kissing oh-so-gently at his neck and biting the sweetest of love bites up and down the left side of his neck. He angles his chin up to make your job a little bit easier, because the only thing his mind can compute is that you’re in his lap kissing him and he’s really hard.
“Please what, baby? I need to know,” you say in between kisses and bites.
“Please touch me. Or tell me- fuck- to touch myself. I just need something. Please.” He can feel your grin against his neck at his words and it only sends a new wave of tingles to his torso. You shift backwards again, the heat from your face leaving his neck, and he briefly mourns the loss before your ass shifts backwards, directly onto his dick, and he moans, high and whiny. “God, cyare, I need you.”
“Alright. You want me to touch you so badly?”
“Yes. Please, cyare. I’ll do whatever you tell me to.”
“Fine then.” You shift off of his legs and lift yourself up with a quiet groan. Din can hear you shuffling up, and he only realizes that you’re sitting above him until you speak again. “Come on, baby. Sit here.” You pull his shoulders slightly to the right until he’s in between your legs, your calves resting in between his arms and his torso and your thighs are surrounding his head. “Here’s what’s going to happen. You’re going to do everything I ask of you. And if you don’t, well, you won’t get to cum. Simple as that. Do you understand?”
“Yes,” Din breathes out, his head falling onto your thigh. You pet his hair gently, a stark contrast to your words, but Din relishes any contact he has with your body.
“Good boy,” you coo. “Take your pants off, baby. Touch yourself, but only a little bit.
“Thank you.” Din frantically unbuckles his belt, shoving his pants down to his lower thighs as fast as he can and grips his dick, letting out a filthy groan that makes your thighs twitch. Oh, he thinks. She really does feel that way. “Can- can I do more?”
“Yes, baby. Get yourself off for me. And let me hear all those lovely sounds from you. Your voice is beautiful, Mando.” You weave your fingers through his hair as you speak, your nails scratching gently at his scalp causing a comforting tingle anywhere they roam. Din closes his eyes despite the darkness and lets himself lose it, letting his head go limp and fully sink into the pillows of your thighs as he slowly works his hand down his dick before bringing his hand up quickly to spit in it, then resuming his motions. Following your orders, he doesn’t hold back a single moan, whine or hum that his body begs him to make.
“Fuck… it feels so good. I wish- ah- I wish it was you, cyare.”
“Do you?” you say, tilting your head as his arm works against your calf and his moans echo around the metal walls of the ship. He hums and nods against your thigh, letting out another high moan as you assume he’s found a good angle. “Tell me what you'd have me do to you.”
Din groans, his cock twitching in his palm as he pictures you on your knees in front of him, your beautiful eyes tilted up at him as he forces his dick down your throat. “I’d… I’d have you suck me off in the cockpit of the ship. And I'd want to see my cum in your mouth before you swallowed it.” Your nails continue raking through his hair and you give the gentlest of tugs, pulling a delicious moan out of him and making his head jerk up from your thighs momentarily before settling back down. “After that I'd make you ride my thigh until you were begging to ride my cock instead- fuck, cyare. And if you'd let me, I’d cum inside of you and then have you warm me for the rest of the trip.”
You giggle lightly as Din continues jerking himself off, and if he had the choice, he’d listen to the sound of your voice as long as he possibly could. “Yeah? Is that all you’d do, baby?”
“No, I’d-” He doesn’t even finish his sentence before his whole body twitches, a loud moan forcing its way past his lips, ending in a high-pitched whine. “I’d kiss you all over your pretty face, then leave hickeys everywhere only I can see. So that way- ngahh-” He pauses again, taking a deep breath as you tug lightly on his hair. “So that way you’d remember exactly who made you feel so good.”
“That sounds like a lot of fun to me, baby,” you coo, and Din continues moaning, moving his hand up and down his cock. His sounds are getting whinier, more frequent and increasingly desperate, and you get the feeling he’s nearing his edge. “Are you getting close, baby? Do you need to cum?” He nods desperately between your thighs, and his mind briefly wanders what would happen if he flipped around, pulled your pants down your thighs, and buried his face in your cunt, bringing you to orgasm after orgasm. He can only imagine what it would be like to eat you out, his tongue making your back arch as he found the most sensitive places on your body without hesitation. Another rush of warmth runs straight to his cock, and Din swears he could cum right then and there. His hand speeds up, and you giggle in response again, another tug to his hair a perfect mix of pain and pleasure. “Use your words, Mando.”
“I need to cum- ah- please, just let me cum,” he begs, and he relishes in the feeling of your thighs tightening the slightest bit around his head. An extra tight pull of your fingers through his hair makes his head tilt back and his back arch off of the wall he’s sitting against, letting out the filthiest yet most beautiful moan you’ve ever heard. It’s borderline pornographic, but you can’t seem to get enough of it. The heat between your thighs is nearly blistering, but he can’t tell if it’s because he’s right by your core or if it’s because he’s sweating so much from being so pent up that he can feel fuzz clouding the sides of his head. Either way, it’s a feeling both of you can’t seem to get enough of.
“Go for it. Cum for me, little star. Let go.”
“Than- ah- thank you, baby~” Din’s plea is cut off with a whine as hand slows down, his hips jerking and twitching as his orgasm hits him like a plasma blast. He moans your name over and over, little moans and whines sprinkled throughout. It’s quite possibly the best thing you’ve ever heard. You coax him through every last bit of his high, easing him through it as he whines, a few tears sliding down his cheeks at the overstimulation. “Nngh- too much, ah… feels s’ good.”
~~pov switch~~
“That’s it, honey. Just like that. Now, can you do something for me?” You feel him nod weakly between your legs, and you smile, petting over his tug-mussed hair gently. “Can you spin around so that you can eat me out?” He moves almost instantly, and you grin broadly even in the darkness. Before you know it, his hands, still slick with his cum, are fumbling with the button on your pants and is shucking them down your pants as fast as he can. You’re laughing into the darkness for a short moment before his lips are flicking through you, navigating the slick surely already coating his nose, lips and chin. Your head is thrown back with a moan, bliss filling your body and your abs twitching every time his nose bumps your clit. Din groans openly, not even taking a moment to breathe, just eating you out like a man starved. Your heart races in your ears, a screaming pulse nearly drowning out the echoes of moans you didn’t even realize you were breathing out. His tongue works miracles, finding your clit and working both gentle circles and firmer flicks across it, his fingers now gently pushing inside of you. Fire builds deep in your tummy and your pelvic muscles clench around his fingers as he curves them perfectly, his fingers a perfect balance of rough and calloused and gentle and tender. “Nngh, fuck, Mando, fuckfuckfuck-” Your curses are cut off in a string of whines and moans as you cum hard. With your thighs squeezed tight around Mando’s head and his lips locked tight around your clit, fingers deep inside of you, your eyes go fuzzy at the edges and you swear you feel a tear or two slide down your cheek as your head is thrown back in pleasure. You’re not sure how much time passes, Mando gently coaxing you through what might be the best orgasm of your life, but when you return to life, you let out a little giggle, then realize that the ship still has to be fixed.
“Hey, Mando?”
“Hmm?” You can’t help but crack a smile at how dazed and fucked out he sounds. He probably looks the part, too, and if you’re being honest with yourself, you probably look about the same.
“Thank you, star. That was…” you huff out a breath, reaching your hand up to brush a lock of hair out of your eyes. “Amazing. And I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but we really have to fix the ship.” Mando whines, leaning his chin against your thigh. You laugh at the juxtaposition- not long ago, he was eating you out and making you cum on his face harder than you ever had before, and now, he was whining and acting like a sad puppy when you said you had to do productive adult things. You can feel the scruff on his jaw mixed with your slick where his chin rests, and you reach down to rake your fingers through his hair, although much more gently this time. “Come on, we don’t want the ship to get into any worse shape than she already is. Get up, baby.” Mando climbs off of you with a huff, cool air hitting your still very sensitive core and making you struggle to stifle a gasp at the feeling.
“Fine.” You can hear him as you pull your pants back up your legs, fumbling around for his helmet. The two of you seem to move on from the events in silent agreement, leaving what could barely even be called a quickie behind you as if there wasn't painfully obvious unresolved sexual tension that had been sparked months before. “My helmet’s back on, so you can turn on your lantern.” A tight, sad sinking feeling replaces the bliss you had been experiencing, and you wipe yourself down with a towel Mando’s chucked at you before fumbling around for your lantern.
It’s fine. You’ll figure it out later. For now, you just have to focus on fixing the ship, which is the thing you’re best at. Just do that. Your brain nags at you, telling you to leave it in the past, and, to be fair, you try to. You try really hard. Despite your efforts, though, as your hands are fiddling with wiring and circuit boards and wiping grease off onto your pants, your mind replays the sounds of Mando’s sweet moans echoing off of the walls in the ship, the feeling of his body squirming under your thighs, the way his tongue mapped out every inch of your core and was able to make you cum with seemingly no effort… You huff, straightening your back and stretching out the cricks in your neck from being hunched over the piping you’re working on. Your left leg aches from being stretched out for so long, so you switch it with your right, bringing your left heel to your inner thigh and stretching your right leg out to the side. Hypermobility, the Empire called it. Yet another reason why you were “a shining candidate” to work labor jobs. Little did they know that you would find a love and talent for mechanic work just a few months in.
You huff a gust of air upward, trying to get an annoyingly insistent lock of hair out of your eyes. Your grit-coated fingers fiddle with a fuse, a little thing a little longer and wider than your thumb and something that costs way too many credits for being such a disposable thing, finally clicks into place. “By the Maker, finally,” you groan, letting your last fuck fly away. You set the circuit back into place, fuse secured, and close the piping. As you stand, your muscles scream in protest, begging for mercy as you steady yourself. The pathetic light from your lantern flickers sadly, and you wind the crank on the side to give it just enough juice to last you until the main power systems reboot. It’s been about an hour since you and Mando started fixing up the ship, and that was the last thing you had to do. Your brain almost doesn’t register the feeling of the ladder on your hand, the rungs digging into the soles of your boots, the clicks of the buttons to reboot the ship’s primary power system, or the blinking lights of the reboot. You run on autopilot, telling Mando that you can stay in the cockpit so he can sleep while you finish your journey.
It’s only when you hear Grogu coo quietly and feel him tug on the leg of your pants, making grabby hands up at you when you look down at him, that you accept you won’t be able to just forget what had happened.
You lean down to pick him up and set him in your lap, kicking your feet up onto an empty space on the dashboard. “I’m an idiot, aren’t I, kid?” Grogu looks up at you, sitting down on your knees. “I mean, come on. My hangar is gone, everything I’ve ever really had is in a duffel bag, and I’m in an ancient ship in the middle of nowhere, talking to a fifty-year-old baby as if he’s my therapist, and I don’t want to admit to myself that I’m back to square one. It’s like I just defected again.” Your hands rub at your eyes, and Grogu tilts his head, then pats your knee sympathetically. You can’t help but smile a bit at the sweet gesture, but it seems like sleep is about to hit the kid like a plasma blast, so you pat your stomach as an invitation. “C’mere. Get some sleep.” He waddles over to you, lays his head down on your tummy, and passes out almost immediately. With everything that’s happened, your body hasn’t had a chance to re-regulate itself, and as you’re watching the blue and white lights swirl by in hyperspace, you slowly drift off, too.

"New Findings: Multi-Year Scientific Study Reveals Playing with Dolls Allows Children to Develop and Practice Social Skills, Regardless of Their Neurodevelopmental Profile"
"EL SEGUNDO, Calif., – September 28, 2023 - Mattel, Inc. (NASDAQ: MAT) announced that a team of neuroscientists at Cardiff University and Barbie have released the latest findings from a multi-year study exploring the short and long-term developmental impacts of doll play. In the study’s third year, researchers have found that doll play could benefit children with varying social communication styles, including those who display neurodivergent traits commonly associated with autism.
To obtain these new findings, the research team, led by neuroscientist Dr. Sarah Gerson from Cardiff University’s School of Psychology’s Centre for Human Developmental Science, replicated earlier brain-related discoveries from the previous two years and expanded the study’s scope by incorporating a more diverse range of participants*, including children ages 4–8 who display both high and low levels of traits commonly associated with autism.
Collaborating with Dr. Catherine Jones, Director of the Wales Autism Research Centre at Cardiff University, this data further backs the conclusions drawn in the first year, demonstrating that playing with dolls either alone or in a group, can support social processing among children. The results from the third year reinforce this finding across children with and without high levels of autistic traits, albeit through their different approaches to play.
“Our study shows that doll play can encourage social processing in children, regardless of their neurodevelopmental profile. The findings show that all children, even those who display neurodivergent traits commonly associated with autism, may use doll play as a tool for practicing social scenarios and developing social skills, such as empathy,” said lead researcher and neuroscientist Dr. Sarah Gerson.
The team of neuroscientists used state-of-the-art functional, near-infrared spectroscopy equipment to explore brain activation while children played with dolls and on tablets, both by themselves and with another person, replicating conditions from Year 1.
While observing children, researchers saw increased brain activity in the posterior superior temporal sulcus (pSTS) region when playing with dolls, for both play with a social partner and during solo doll play, but less so during solo tablet play. The pSTS region is heavily involved in and active during social and emotional processing. The findings showed that doll play activates brain regions associated with social information processing such as empathy, indicating that doll play may enable children to rehearse, use and perform these skills even when playing independently. Interestingly, this effect in the brain was similar between children displaying fewer and greater traits commonly associated with autism.
The study's results suggest that doll play could support social processing, regardless of a child’s neurodevelopmental profile, but through different pathways. For children displaying fewer autistic traits, talking about others' mental states related to pSTS activity (i.e., language about others’ thoughts and emotions when playing alone with dolls). In contrast, for those displaying more autistic traits, talking with others during doll play was related to pSTS activity, even when playing by themselves (i.e., general social engagement with researchers/experimenters rather than a specific type of talking about mental states).
The Year 3 findings from Cardiff University indicate that children, regardless of their neurodevelopmental profile, can play with and potentially benefit from play with dolls in terms of their social development. Other research has shown that social processing and empathy skills are important determinants in children’s future emotional, academic, and social success.
Dr. Catherine Jones said: “The study reinforces how it is important that that we acknowledge and value neurodiversity. This means recognising and valuing the diverse ways in which children's brains work and approaching social development in a way that is inclusive and accommodating for all children, regardless of their neurodivergence. By embracing all ways that children choose to play, we can create a more inclusive and supportive environment for their development.”
Since the landmark publication of Piaget’s theory of cognitive development, the effects of play have been thought to be positive for kids’ social skills and creativity, but this has never been scientifically evidenced at the brain level. This multi-year long-term study commissioned by Barbie is the first time that key Piaget theories on play have been scientifically evidenced via brain imaging and the first to use neuroimaging evidence with natural doll play, meaning there was no prescribed storyline to show how the brain is activated during doll play.
“We are proud to know that when children, regardless of their neurodevelopmental profile, play with Barbie, their playtime may benefit their development,” said Michael Swaisland, Head EMEA of Insight and Analytics, Mattel. “As Barbie continues to inspire the limitless potential in every child, we are delighted to know, through neuroscience, that playing with Barbie may encourage the development of social skills such as empathy in children, including those who display neurodivergent traits commonly associated with autism. We look forward to uncovering even more benefits of doll play through our long-term partnership with Cardiff University as we look to shine a light on the benefits the play pattern has towards development, that parents might not have been aware of.”
The results of this third year of research, titled “Embracing Neurodiversity in Doll Play: Investigating Neural and Language Correlates of Doll Play in a Neurodiverse Sample,” were peer-reviewed and published in the European Journal of Neuroscience in September 2023 by Dr. Sarah Gerson and colleagues at Cardiff University’s Centre for Human Developmental Science, UK, as well as colleagues at King’s College London.
Parents and caregivers can visit barbie.com/benefits to learn more about the research and access resources.
* The study was commissioned by Barbie and was conducted with 57 children (27 boys and 22 girls) aged 4 to 8 years with varying levels of autistic traits. Traits were measured using the Autism Spectrum Quotient-Children’s Version (AQ-Child, Aueyung, et al., 2008)

How I Manage Chronic Pain
Each and every morning when I open my eyes, I am met with stiffness and discomfort, often accompanied by the unnerving sensation of my arms being completely numb or filled with pins and needles. From the moment I wake up, I find myself analysing the intensity of the pain that will accompany me throughout the day. There is never a day that goes by without some level of pain, but there are moments when it is more manageable and others when it becomes completely debilitating. Throughout every single day, my focus revolves around finding comfort or alleviating some of the torment / pain that engulfs me, and on particularly excruciating days, it feels as though the entire day is lost to me; I am unable to accomplish much or anything at all.
So how do I manage my pain?!:
Last year, I made a purchase that turned out to be one of the most valuable buys for me - an acupuncture mat. As someone who suffers from severe spinal stenosis and experiences acute pain, lying on the acupuncture mat provides immense relief. In fact, it works so well that I often find myself dozing off while using it. Even my husband finds it beneficial for his backaches. Additionally, I have a neck and shoulder massager as well as a massage gun to further alleviate discomfort. And, I’ve found that incorporating gentle slow flow yoga into my routine and practicing meditation to regulate my breathing have also proven to be helpful strategies.
When the pain levels are severe, taking a bath in Epsom salts. It’s provides relief from the pain, but for me, unfortunately it also results in overwhelming exhaustion. Nevertheless, on days when the pain is unbearable, I willingly endure the debilitating fatigue that follows a bath, just to experience a brief respite from the agony.
I have my elbow splint that I wear most days, kinesiology tape that helps with my radiculopathy pain, as well as tubular badges. Also crutches to help when I am unable to put any weight on my legs.
Additionally, I have my everyday prescribed medication, which does provide some relief, but unless I am heavily medicated, they only alleviate a portion of the discomfort.  I do have more prescribed stronger pain meds in my medicine cabinet to use as necessary, but I make an effort to steer clear of them when possible. I don't respond well to them, and they have the potential to create dependency, so I exercise extreme caution when deciding to utilise them, and I don't choose to use them frequently.
I have also been approved to receive a prescription for medical cannabis, but the cost of it is exorbitant, and I am still uncertain and have some reservations about it….
There are additional gadgets and supplements I'm interested in trying out, such as infrared heat lamps, and there are various massage devices I'd like to test out - but all of these come with a price tag.
Finally, I have made adjustments to my diet, specifically eliminating foods that can lead to inflammation, significantly reducing my consumption of fizzy beverages, and taking the time to educate myself on the benefits of consuming foods with a low inflammatory benefits. As a result, I have incorporated more fermented foods and beverages into my daily routine. (kombucha and matcha teas have become personal favourites).

Japan 2020 - Day 1
◀ Previous | Next ▶
Arriving in Tokyo and running away to Hakone, hot springs really help with jet lag.
If you haven't seen the previous post check out the Prelude.
Monday 24th February 2020
Tokyo
Our flight arrived at 6:50 AM, our first sign of coronavirus prevention was a man standing behind an infrared camera to check people's temperature as they went through to get their passports checked.
Tumblr media
Oli’s friend Hiroshi met with us at the airport to give us a lift to his place where we would be staying that week, again to save a bit of cash, but it was a brief stop after a catch up we would be off travelling immediately.
We had originally planned to go to Hakone with Hiroshi but he had to get ready for his upcoming wedding so instead he took us to lunch at Tokyo Station our first proper meal in Japan was Ramen! Which it turns out is good for any meal, breakfast/lunch/dinner/after drinks before stumbling home.
Hiroshi pointed us in the right direction and we caught a train to Hakone where we would spend our first night.
Hakone
A running theme in this trip is not doing much in the way of research before going to places, partly due to not wanting to plan too much in advance and experience things as they come and also being free to do things that looked interesting when we found them.
It was this that brought our first surprise of Hakone, there’s a famous anime set here, Evangelion. The only trouble was neither I nor Oli have seen it so the map of the local area with screenshots from the show were lost on us, but all that means is we get to see the real life version before watching the show and say “I recognise that, I’ve been there.”
As if that wasn’t bad enough we committed our next sin of not having change for the coin lockers to store our luggage, fresh off the plane with our currency we had nothing but notes and no easy way to change them we found a nearby vending machine which refused to take our money, we struggled for a minute before a helpful Japanese lady came and pointed out that the machine wasn’t able to give change, presumably because everyone else had been doing the same thing.
We got our drinks, stashed our luggage and proceeded to explore the local town as we couldn’t check in to our ryokan (traditional Japanese hotel) yet. It appears to be a popular destination for tourists, I was worried that as it wasn’t a major city the folks there wouldn’t understand our lacklustre Japanese and the inevitable reverting to English and pointing at things but we had no issues.
Tumblr media
We spent about 40 minutes walking around Hakone then when we were ready to check in we retrieved our luggage and trundled up the hill. We discovered a spoopy tunnel, which may have been our first encounter with the spectre thief, is it a ghost who steals things or someone who steals ghosts or it could be someone who steals ghosts who steal things like some sort of ghost police.
Tumblr media
The area is known for its onsen (natural hot springs) and the ryokan we are staying in has its own onsen but not only that some of the rooms have private onsen… for couples, we have booked just such a room. This allows us to practise before embarrassing ourselves in front of any Japanese folk that may be using the public onsen.
Tumblr media
The ryokan has tatami (Mats made of straw although modern mats have woodchip or polystyrene at their core) on the floor and futons to sleep on, so your living room doubles as a bedroom, there’s no kotatsu sadly but it has air conditioning which was greatly appreciated as it was still quite chilly outside, the weather in the UK had been getting milder but in Japan were thrown back in to winter somewhat.
After trying out our private onsen we decided to also try out the futons and had a nap, this seemed to work out well as we woke up in time for a late dinner and were still tired enough to get to sleep later.

What is Bio Mat Therapy?
The Bio Mat is a therapeutic mat that uses advanced technology to help restore balance and promote healing. It combines three powerful elements: far-infrared rays, negative ions, and amethyst crystals, all of which contribute to its remarkable therapeutic effects.
Far-Infrared Rays: These rays penetrate deep into the body, providing soothing warmth that relieves muscle tension, enhances circulation, and promotes detoxification.
Negative Ions: These ions are known to improve mood, reduce stress, and boost energy levels by neutralizing free radicals and improving the body’s overall vitality.
Amethyst Crystals: Amethyst is a natural stone known for its healing properties. In the Bio Mat, the crystals amplify the therapeutic effects of the far-infrared rays and negative ions, promoting deep relaxation and emotional balance.
Together, these elements create a healing environment that supports both physical and emotional well-being, making Bio Mat therapy an excellent addition to any self-care routine.
How Bio Mat Therapy Enhances Your Self-Care Routine
1. Relieves Stress and Promotes Relaxation
One of the most powerful benefits of Bio Mat therapy is its ability to relieve stress and promote relaxation. With the far-infrared heat penetrating deep into your muscles, the Bio Mat helps to release built-up tension and ease the discomfort that comes with stress. As your body relaxes, your mind follows, allowing you to experience a sense of peace and calm that carries over into your daily life.
Incorporating Bio Mat relaxation sessions Fulton into your self-care routine can help reduce anxiety, calm your nervous system, and promote mental clarity, which is vital for long-term wellness.
2. Supports Mental Health and Emotional Well-being
Your emotional health plays a crucial role in your overall well-being and Bio Mat relaxation sessions Fulton can be an essential tool for maintaining emotional balance. The negative ions emitted by the Bio Mat work to elevate serotonin levels, which helps reduce feelings of anxiety and depression. By improving mood and mental clarity, Bio Mat sessions create a positive environment for emotional healing and support.
Taking time for yourself to relax on the Bio Mat can provide an opportunity for introspection, helping you release negative emotions and foster emotional well-being. This aspect of therapy makes it a valuable addition to your self-care practices.
3. Boosts Circulation and Energy Levels
In today’s fast-paced world, many people experience low energy levels or fatigue. Bio Mat therapy can help combat these issues by boosting circulation throughout the body. The far-infrared rays enhance blood flow, allowing more oxygen and nutrients to reach the tissues and organs. This increase in circulation not only helps you recover from physical fatigue but also energizes you on a cellular level.
Regular sessions can improve your overall energy, making you feel more revitalized and ready to tackle your day-to-day activities with increased stamina and focus.
4. Promotes Better Sleep
Quality sleep is one of the most important aspects of self-care, yet many individuals struggle to get enough restful sleep due to stress, muscle tension, or chronic pain. Bio Mat therapy addresses these issues by relaxing the muscles and calming the mind. The soothing effects of the far-infrared heat and the calming properties of negative ions prepare your body for a deeper, more restful sleep.
By adding Bio Mat therapy to your self-care routine, you can improve sleep quality and wake up feeling more refreshed and energized each day.
5. Helps with Detoxification and Pain Relief
Detoxification is an important part of any self-care routine, as it helps rid the body of harmful toxins that can accumulate due to stress, poor diet, and environmental factors. The far-infrared rays from the Bio Mat stimulate detoxification by increasing sweat production and enhancing circulation, allowing your body to eliminate toxins more effectively.
Additionally, Bio Mat therapy can help relieve chronic pain caused by conditions like arthritis, fibromyalgia, or muscle injuries. The heat from the Bio Mat penetrates deeply into tissues, helping to reduce inflammation, improve blood flow, and alleviate pain.
What to Expect During Your Bio Mat Session
At River Rose Growth Healing, we ensure that your Bio Mat experience is as comfortable and effective as possible.
