Our trailer’s cleanup is underway as we prepare to launch our next crowdfund, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still support our production!
Consider tossing a coin to our Patreon or Ko-Fi— every bit helps our crew and our pilot’s production! Animation/cleanup by @starr-ani!

(Forgive me for being a dick and blazing a promotional campaign. I know we all come here for motiveless fandom-based shitposts, but I am but a mere independent creator and I must obnoxiously spread my word wherever the blue light shines. 😔)
Hey, folks! My company, Cotton Candy Flavor Media, and I are currently working on our first ever animated film. It’s called “Get Yeast To It”, and it’s a surreal existential dark comedy about a version of the afterlife where humans are judged by cells of yeast based on whether or not they ever ate bread. We’re currently running a crowdfunding campaign for the project so that we can raise the money we need to achieve our yeasty dreams, which is no small feat for indie artists in the midst of this truly shitty time for the animation industry as a whole. If you all could like, share, and donate to the campaign at the link below, it would go a long way in helping us plucky creators succeed— and you could have the opportunity to receive an unpackaged potato in the mail, which I know is really tempting for a lot of you. Thanks, everybody, and let’s get bread-y to rumbleeeeeeee!!

Idk if you guys have seen the trailer for MMANWU but literally go watch it right now and also!! Also also also!!!
Please donate to the kickstarter if you can!! They’re a little over halfway to their goal to get this project fully funded, and only have two weeks to get to their goal!! And the way kickstarter works, if they don’t reach their goal, they don’t get any of it! So this is a really important window for the project!
I’ll link the trailer here!!
youtube
“MMANWU is a 2D animated short film set in modern day Nigeria. The film follows Ogechi, a Nigerian-American teenager, as she travels back to Nigeria after the death of her grandfather. Riddled with grief, Ogechi’s mourning is interrupted when she’s confronted with an aspect of her culture she does not understand, forcing her to contend with her identity as both Nigerian and American. Centered around Igbo-Nigerian culture and traditions, Mmanwu mixes magical realism and horror to explore themes of grief, spirituality and cross-cultural understanding.”
(Excerpt from the kickstarter page :))

An assortment of recently drawn scenes from The God Machine. While news on the film has been fairly quiet over the past few years, things have remained the same as ever behind the scenes. Aside from solo independent animation being a not-so-algorithm-friendly output, as mentioned in the last major production post there's only so much you can write about drawing the same characters and general locations over and over and over and over again. While production has continued over the years ruminating over the same general concepts, they have remained frighteningly relevant with the trajectory of the world. The brutality of war, the way people are left as cattle to the inherent genocide of capitalist structures, the need to cease all militarist colonialism for the sake of our future, the underlying struggle of the human spirit against brutality and horror. The God Machine is a violent film but it’s not a film that glorifies violence. It’s instead as much of a rage-filled call for the countless victims as it is a reimagining of old myths for a modern era of nonstop systematic cruelty. Some think the horrors in history are a thing of the past when in actuality they’ve continued without any interruption, the war criminals just don’t announce their atrocities for what they are.

Main group for my personal project, currently with the WIP name- Project Paranet
Tumblr media
It’s a paranormal/scifi story based around a group of players and their self aware character companions getting stuck in a digital world in attempt to uncover a mystery to do with their favourite online game.
It also has themes about overcoming things like anxiety and depression and being understanding to people different from you. It’s a very personal project as one of the main characters is a fictionalised version of myself and I hope to capture some of my struggles with my mental health and trying to stay hopeful. Maybe I can even give some people some comfort that they aren’t alone with this kinda stuff, I want to make something like that to help people in a similar way to how the owl house helped me stay hopeful when I was struggling.
