dgs/tgaa 1-2 spoilers
ok i just finished dgs 1-2, im cryinf so hard bro this might be the saddest case but also the funniest case because i was passing out laughing at everything herlock sholmes said and did and also going crazy over this logic and reasoning spectacular because he is so cool and sexc to me even if he is a big loser and also the russian accents being written were taking me out like no right to be so funny. i was laughing like a 12 year old over the “kriminal” sorry. anyway it was so nice i probably the best 2nd case in any of the ace attorney games i tend to not love the 2nd cases that much if anything i usually prefer 3rd cases lol but this was excellent AND incredibly sad like what do you mean my best friend and partner passed as he was about to consult me on something important…. Because he trusted me and valued my opinion,,, and he brought me on this journey even if it was a hassle and a HUGE RISK just because of how much he cared about me.. he brought me On this important mission the most important thing to him. what if i cried forever….. kazuma i will make you proud

Capillaries. Myelin sheathing. Microglia.
I love how the game seems to take inspiration from those simplified cell drawings with bright colors and exaggerated shapes.
I love how the devs seem to have used microscopic images as a reference to make their alien world feel more alien.
I love the way the myelin sheathing is on the cables because it makes electric signals travel at a faster speed in real life... Those designs work and don't feel limited by what they took inspiration from.

As much as I love the BG3 community on Reddit, stuff like this really bothers me.
1.6k people have so little media literacy they think Gale being Mystra's kept wizard in Elysium after all she put him through somehow constitutes a good ending.
Like seriously wtf. No one would consider sending Astarion back to Cazador a good ending, even if Cazador magically offered to make him a true vampire.
Don't get me started on all the jokes about Wyll having the hots for Mizora. At least those are "jokes".
If nothing else this game has really opened my eyes to how utterly ignored men's abuse at the hand of a woman abuser is. Makes me sick.

what does it say about me that my favorite genre of tv show is "deranged man in suit forces comedians to do increasingly bizarre things for entertainment"

I love LSH so much it’s genuinely one of the funniest events in the entire game but I think one of my favorite things is toya getting so mad at akito (because he’s largely unrepentant about failing) & then when he finds out his older brother figure failed a class he literally does not give a fuck. Zero reaction. I know this is because he knows tsukasa has already had his 46 allotted Fits about it and will be hitting the books hard but imagining akito’s face when he realizes toya is not concerned abt tsukasa’s studying and is only being a hard ass about his studying is so funny to me. Tsukasa could go “yeah I’m just gonna cram for this exam” & toya would go “I believe in you tsukasa senpai” but if akito said that exact same thing Toya would be So Pissed.

tbh i feel like people who think will and eddie would get along fundamentally do not understand will and are just eddie stans who cannot be objective when it comes to his character and want to shoehorn him into everything regardless if it actually works.

Frankly I think Alistair being mildly shitty to that mage in Ostagar seems pretty in-character for the guy he is before the massive, life-altering trauma that is the Ostagar massacre wherein he sees all of his Grey Warden comrades, his beloved mentor/father figure, and his beloathed half-brother/convenient-target-of-projection absolutely torn to shreds by literal Thedas boogeymen. IIRC Morrigan and Flemeth both comment on his wack behavior after Ostagar and then by the time we get to Lothering Alistair just fully surrenders any and all responsibility (and, frankly, agency) to the player's Warden for the foreseeable future. It can then take anywhere from a couple IRL hours to the entire second act of the game for him to retake almost any amount of it back. And depending on the player's choices in dialogue, and especially whether or not they choose to romance him, we may only see flashes of that guy we met at Ostagar before he potentially morphs into almost someone else entirely (hardened!King!Alistair). All that to say, I don't actually think it's a useful criticism of "characterization" to bring up Alistair's glibness as compared to his behavior in the majority of the game because from where I'm standing (looking directly at his snottiness about Cailan, his complaints about being assigned to the Tower of Ishal, his Templar-esque focusing on Morrigan and Flemeth being apostates, his generally pretty brusque manner with the Warden recruits) it seems fairly in-line with the rest of his behavior at Ostagar.

all i'm going to say, to my fellow ocean liner nerds, please play Thalassa: Edge of the Abyss, you get to experience a (set in) 1905 expedition ship (inspired by ocean liners) dredging up the past as well as the mysteries on your wrecked ship.
The story is killer and you get to be an old-timey diver. I cannot recommend it enough . I cried, I gasped, I enjoyed ogling the ship.

OKAY.
One of you fuckers sent me the most fucking WICKEDLY CRUEL theory about a direction of the Sweet & Sour Dipplins fic. It is so inhumanely FOWL and out of left field in terms of a feeling trainwreck.
And I just need you to know: I am so goddamn impressed with you, because my answer to your soft inquiry on whether it's going to happen is simply...
...yes.
