That's his hand babe, he's gonna yeet the vestiges into shiggy!!
See, I've had a few other people tell me that, which completely makes sense. But, I was more focussed on how the star looked like something familiar
Something very familiar
#i don't think that this necessarily means that deku has explosion#quite the opposite actually#i think this confirms that bakugou's vestige resides in ofa and proves that he's related to ofa in some way#especially with the whole 'heroes inheriting each other's will line'. Like. Don't tell me that Izuku hasn't inherited Katsuki's will to win#anyways I just know that Katsuki's fight isn't finished#because when you think about it it's weird why Hori would make shiggy repeat the words 'looking at you i'd never think that you were a hero#which is the same phrase used to describe deku during the vigilante arc. like horikoshi sir why do you want to remind us of that#but then you think about it and it starts to make sense. like. who saved deku during the vigilante arc? Katsuki#Who's going to save him again? All signs point to Katsuki#but hey that's just a theory#bnha#mha#mha manga spoilers#incorrect bnha quotes#mha 413#bnha 413

!!!! page 413 revealed !!!!
(page 409-418)
7/28/2009 Wheel Spin: Sburb Lore Verdict: INCORRECT
7/29/2009 Wheel Spin: Character Switch Verdict: CORRECT!!!!
First, we get the details of John's shift from hammerkind to handlekind. It's a fun mechanic, but I'm a little sad because I really liked the idea of John needing to use both separate halves of the hammer to defeat the shale imp. Also, being able to repair the hammer just by merging cards is definitely consistent with existing captchalogue lore, but it's a tiny bit unsatisfying if a weapon getting broken isn't a meaningful risk. Still, I like getting clarification on the rules, it definitely helps for future theorizing.
Dave is pestering everyone here, as is seemingly his way. I like his silly face being in the speech bubbles on p.411 and p.415, and I know it's for the player/reader and doesn't exist to the characters, but it raises the question. Do John and Rose have any idea what Dave looks like? He's a photographer, and in 2009 digital cameras have just recently become affordable enough to be mainstream. It's cute to think about these kids taking grainy digital pictures of themselves and figuring out how to upload a picture to Pesterchum so that they can show each other what they look like. But it's also funny to imagine that booting up Sburb was Rose's first ever time seeing John's face.
I expected Rose to bring the generator back to her house, but no, she's straight up in the mausoleum. Just setting up a tiny home with her tuxedoed dead cat and her books and pillows and violin. This is unquestionably the most goth thing she's ever done, and it totally rules. She also shares some perspectives on how the dead should be buried, and while she might just be being contrarian and going against what her mom has done, I think it fits with her character that she'd have strong opinions on this. She's the kind of kid who might have already drawn up a funeral plan for herself.
One thing I 100% agree with Rose on? Generator safety IS everyone's business. I think it makes sense that she'd know about that given that she lives in such a rural area, and it's cool to see her exercise those practical skills.
And I gotta say, good on John for noticing the door had been put back into place. I had to scroll back through the comic a bunch to notice what was out of place - he doesn't have that luxury and he's been through a lot recently. He's definitely more perceptive than I give him credit for.
We end this segment with an absolute slam dunk of a prankster's gambit from John's nan. And really, who's surprised? She was probably the OG prankster of John's family, and taught John's dad everything he knows. And now she's come back as a ghost, merged with a mischievous, one-armed, cake-smeared harlequin doll, and is basically the absolute embodiment of mischief. The fact that she was killed by a Colonel Sassacre's and a ladder, and that John recently got up to some urn based antics, can't hurt either.
Everything that has happened to this woman in canon has been classic comedy related - and this plus the Ghost Dad parallels make me think that her coming back as a pranky ghost has been planned from the start. And her reveal moment is very satisfying - glowing, hovering, unapologetic, her prankster's gambit bar at max having just succeeded on an often-pulled prank that's classic for a reason, an old timey version of Harlequin playing. Hoo hoo hoo indeed.
#homestuck#reaction#i don't know if page 413 is actually anything special and relevant#unless the generator or the mausoleum or jaspers go on to have crazy levels of plot relevance? maybe????#chrono

I donât think I can find a better example of Zim going easy on Dib even though Dib refuses to do the same than Issue 26.
Zim has his extremely sharp PAK legs out and is in the perfect position to skewer Dib in one shot, killing him instantly, but instead uses his legs as a blunt object, knocks him into a pile of muffins, and escapes without attempting to harm Dib further.
Meanwhile the first thing Dib does upon acquiring what he thinks is a gun is attempt to shoot Zim point blank.

Just imagine everything from an outsiderâs perspective.
Not from the perspective of the students that have been here a while and are used to Zim and Dibâs antics, but from the perspective of someone whoâs never encountered any of this before.

Zim might be one of the smartest Irkens alive:
In the comics, an Irken Engineer named Skrang built this thing:
Itâs a prototype wormhole generator, giving the Tallest the ability to teleport anything to the base of any Invader, heavily implied to be the first of its kind.
Skrang had help doing this. He wears a specialized backpack filled with dozens of harvested Vortian brains, which presumably gives him a boost of intelligence. Itâs a literal think tank.

I think what I really love about this season so far is how much it's putting out its mission statement that no, this show is not about Bellarke or Bellamy Blake. This show is about strong women. And if he can be used to further their stories, so be it, but it isn't and never has been about him. This is Octavia and Clarke's show. And the fact that Bellamy's plot will be basically playing referee for the Echo vs. Octavia plot is my favorite thing.
mmmmmmm, I like, 1/3 agree with you anon in the sense that the show is very much about its strong women but beyond that Iâm going to have to respectfully disagree.
For starters, to declare that a seasonâs mission statement can be called based on the first two episodes seems premature to me, especially on t100 (especially on t100 when the first two eps are so hyper-focused on pre-season flashbacks and are basically a two-parter so really itâs kind of like weâve only watched one episode of the season so far when you take out the season prequel stuff). If you think back to where we were in 102 vs 113, 202 vs 216, 302 vs 316, 402 vs 413, the season get progressively more bonkers to the point that finales are years away from the beginnings (literally in s4âs case).
For seconders, Bellamy is one of the three main characters. He moves the story along just as much as Octavia, debatably as much as Clarke. So to say the show is not about him is, imo, factually incorrect. Itâs not just about him, sure. Clarke is the mainest main, sure. Not about Bellamy? You lost me. Entirely. Like I said, I highly doubt we know fork all about the trajectory of the season at this point (pleaselettherebealienspleaselettherebealienspleaselettherebealiens) but I hiiiiiighly doubt Bellamyâs plot will be reduced to simply playing referee between Octavia and Echo. If for no other reason, and I say this as someone who loves Echo, the idea of her getting a more significant arc than Bellamy makes me laugh because that ainât happening in any version of this show. Even just in the context of Octavia and Echo, Bellamyâs arc will be more significant for his character then just playing referee, I mean hello heâs like, the linchpin of the angst between Octavia and Echo. His arc is probs gonna be something about defining his family (which, in regards to Octavia, is a plot weâve already seen but apparently weâre still overcoming tribalism so why not bring this back as well).
Also, like, I know I am a Known Clarke Stanâ˘Â and proud of it so if youâre new here you might not know that I also love Bellamy (though Iâve heard thatâs some kind of forked up paradox since I also like becho so take that with a grain of salt I guess). Dismissing his importance both to the story and as an amazing and unique character on the tv scape makes me itch in an unscratchable under the skin way that I donât love. Much smarter and more eloquent people than me have written about what a cool character he is so Iâll just link it here.
Tl;dr Bellamy is an action hero who also completely subverts toxic masculine action hero tropes by being a beautiful sensitive flower without even getting into the whole other hugely significant aspect of having that kind of nuanced character be a MOC (and even more significantly Asian, a rarity in the action hero-scape) and we do not disrespect him or the importance of that type of character in this house.
That said, you like what you like and watch the show how you watch the show and thatâs cool, Iâm not the boss of you so Iâm not going to tell you not to be into the strong ladies. But if youâre looking for some conversation about how Bellamyâs basically wallpaper, aesthetic but ultimately insignificant and thatâs the beeâs knees, I am not your girl.
#asks#anon#the 100 season 5#the 100#the 100 meta#sort of#i guess#anyway no#bellamy blake#HE IS THE KEY#ahahahahahaha i crack myself up#or more accurately natalie cracks me up

MCC member gets kicked out of Lordâs pavilion for booing Australian cricketer Steve Smith
MCC member is kicked out of Lord & # 39; s pavilion in front of Australian cricket player Steve Smith boo after being hit on the head and hit by a fast ball
Member was ejected from the Long Room on the fourth day of the Ashes contest
He allegedly booed and torn Steve Smith after stepping out of 92
Smith had previously stopped 40 minutes after being hit by a relentless fast ball

Do YOU ââknow who the MCC member was? Email [email protected] [1945908]

An MCC member was thrown out of the gentleman's pavilion yesterday after going to Steve Smith allegedly booed and heckled as he walked through the Long Room on day four of the second Ashes Test.
The Australian batsman was on his way back to the dressing room after he had received 92 lbw runs, returned to the Jofra Archer fast ball earlier in the day
The member is believed to be Smith 28 has booed and verbally fired while the batsman trudged through the Lange Kamer on Saturday.
It is thought that this is the first time that a member of the Marylebone Cricket Club, founded in 1787, was ejected because of such behavior after a change of rule in May, The Times . ]
Smith left the field for 40 minutes to be treated after being caught in the neck by a relentless bouncer from Archer (photo)
The famous Long Room at the front of the pavilion at Lord & # 39; s, the Home of Cricket , which is full of MCC members on match days (file photo)
The new rulebook states: "MCC expects members to meet each other, the club, Lord & # 39; s and anyone visiting or working there , respect and support.
"Any behavior that shows that no respect is shown, including abusive, discriminatory or inappropriate behavior or language, is considered a violation of club rules and makes a member liable for removal or suspension. & # 39;
After being released from the pavilion, the member may be faced with further sanctions, including suspension or expulsion from the club.
The Australian Cricketers Association (ACA), the players' association, has issued a statement last night to condemn booing by a small minority of English fans in the Home of Cricket
The hunters were heard when Smith left the field for 40 minutes after being treated by a relentless bouncer from Archer
Smith was excluded from the fifth day of the Sunday concussion series.
Greg Dyer and Alistair Nicholson, the chairman and CEO of ACA said: & The reality is that cricket can be a dangerous sport, especially when bowling is fierce as in this series.
& # 39; It was important and correct to use the protocols that & # 39; were trained to see the Lords at night.
& # 39; What was unwelcome and incorrect was the sound of a boo player. Cricket deserves much better than that. And Lord & # 39; s, the home of cricket, also serves much better than that. What we saw was the courage of an excellent young man. It must be praised, not defamed.
& # 39; In the English summer, the crowds were generally great and really added to the competition. But when someone is injured, but still angry, it's time to & # 39; enough & # 39; to name. & # 39; & # 39;
Steve Smith was able to return to the field after he got the all-clear in mandatory concussion tests, but he was declared to have had a concussion on Sunday and excluded him from the last day
] Smith, considered one of the most talented batsmen of his generation, made himself vulnerable after the notorious b all the sabotage scandals on the tour of Australia through South Africa in 2018.
Smith was forced to resign as a captain, along with David Warner, the deputy captain, and both received a year-long ban on ball firing in Johannesburg in March of last year.
Rookie Cameron Bancroft was recruited by the couple to carry out the operation, with the help of a piece of adhesive tape with grains of dirt stuck on it. Bancroft was suspended for nine months.
All three players have participated in the Ashes series so far this summer.

Find The Best Landscaping Contractor In Your Region
When you're seeking a local landscaping service contractor, you should make sure that you review low bids with more scrutiny. You may end up needing to work with a new contractor to restart from the beginning if the low-priced worker lacks the needed skills. We have some methods to make sure you select the right contractor for your needs.
Before you select a landscaping service contractor it's vital to get references from people who've actually used their services so that you can make an informed decision about hiring them. References are a great indicator of the contractor's integrity; see to it you get a few them. Also, ensure your local contractor only uses the very best products or else your project can be compromised. Look for as much information as possible on the materials your local contractor will use while on the job.
When speaking to a prospective landscaping service contractor, be absolutely clear about your expectations for the job. Asking the contractor to give you his understanding of what you're looking for gives you a chance to correct any incorrect impressions and provide clarification if need be. Have a timeline of your project and let your landscaping service provider know about it to avoid falling behind the schedule. All the agreed details should be in a written contract and should be signed by both parties before start of the project.
You will need to make your landscaping service provider mindful of the project's details before he can agree to do it and counsel you on the way forward. Ensure the landscaping service contractor has ample opportunity to ask questions and confirm individual items in the contract. The very best way to effectively ensure that your job gets done successfully is to talk often and openly with your landscaping service provider. Continuous, open communication is the key to success when it comes to completing a project void of misunderstanding.
Though it appears old fashioned, you can use your telephone book to get contacts of great landscaping service contractors. The phone book won't let you know anything about the quality of a landscaping service provider's work, but it can help you draw up a list of contractors to check out. For a contract to be complete, it needs to have all financial details and the mode of payment. Landscaping contractors should always keep work sites in order, so do not hesitate to request that they clean things up when it begins to get messy or unsafe.
Only when you are fully satisfied with the quality of the work done should you release the final payment. Take a few days to go over the work and make sure that you are content with it, or hire someone to do it for you. Ensure the work is completed well before making the final payments. For taxation and other purposes, it is always best to have documentation of all financial transactions in file, and this is why cash transactions are ideally avoided. Saunders Landscape Supply is top-notch Landscaping contractor for more details visit www.saundersls.com

Why Students Canât Write â And Why Tech is Part of the Problem
Writing is more important than ever, but many of todayâs students are lousy at it. John Warner has some ideas about why that is, and how to fix it.
Warner has been teaching writing at colleges for more than 20 years. And heâs written two books on the topic, including his most recent, called âWhy They Canât Write.â
Part of the problem, he says, is technology. In some cases the very technologies that were intended to improve writing, like automatic-essay grading software, have backfired by encouraging a kind of paint-by-numbers approach to writing.
But Warner is not anti-tech. In fact, for years he edited one of the most popular humor magazines on the Internet, McSweeneyâs Internet Tendency â a more literary version of the The Onion. And he thinks that the writing students do for their Instagram accounts and social media is actually great.

The problem, he says, is what kids are asked to write in schools, like those five-paragraph essays, which emphasize following arbitrary rules instead of finding the most effective ways to communicate their ideas. And he has some ideas about how to make things better.
EdSurge talked with Warner recently about his sometimes surprising ideas about the crisis in writing instruction, including why he thinks FitBits are part of the problem.
Listen to the discussion on this weekâs EdSurge On Air podcast. You can follow the podcast on the Apple Podcast app, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Play Music or wherever you listen. Or read a portion of the interview below, lightly edited for clarity.
EdSurge: Iâve certainly heard professors grumble that their students are bad at writing. But in your latest book, âWhy Can't They Write,â you say that students are surprisingly confident about their writing abilities, even though you see them as poor. How do you explain this disconnect?
Warner: Students may have gotten good grades on the kinds of writing they've been asked to do, either in school or on a standardized assessment. They know they've performed well on what I call âin the book writing related simulations,â which is mostly what I think they're asked to do in school. The purpose is to sort of prove that they can demonstrate a limited set of moves that make it look like you know how to write.
Youâre saying theyâve been trained to essentially act like a writer, and behave how they think a writer would?
That's exactly it. In the book I say the equivalent would be if in an acting class we taught exclusively through asking students to do specific imitations of actors in specific roles. Weâd have like De Niro 101 or Streep 413. And they wouldn't even be acting like them, they would just be imitating a particular performance.
So to get a good grade, theyâd have to nail a De Niro impression?
Yeah. It comes from this sort of highly prescriptive practice that's privileged because they're going to be assessed on a very narrow range of abilities. Thatâs why the subtitle of my book is âkilling the five-paragraph essay and other necessities.â A lot of my students arrive having written exclusively five-paragraph essays. And they've been told things like never use I, never write with contractions, every sentence must be between five and seven sentences. And then another student will argue and say, âNo, no, no. It's seven to nine sentences, that's what I was told.â
But then they get to college, in a first-year writing class like I've spent many years teaching, and I pull the rug out from under them and say, âEvery piece of writing is a custom job. There are no rules. We have to think through these problems.â And they feel bummed or betrayed or frustrated that I've changed the game on them. They understood the game and were doing well at the game, and now the gameâs different. What I'm saying is, it's not a game, it's actually something substantive and real that we want to ask them to do.
What would you have students and teachers do before they get to you, instead of a paint-by-numbers approach that you say the five-paragraph represents?
A lot of that is wrapped up in my other book, âThe Writers Practice.â I think they should be building their practice. And I define that as the skills, attitudes, knowledge and habits-of-mind of writers. We develop those things primarily by writingâwriting to audiences, writing with purpose, writing from things we are passionate about, writing about things we are interested but don't know a lot about, which requires research and all of the sorts of things we want students doing. A lot of it is based on my reflection of my experience learning to write as a young person sort of before the era of standardized assessments and accountability.
But unlike when we went to school, don't kids today today actually write a lot? Even if it's just a caption on their Instagram photo, aren't they constantly writing for an audience?
They are. They're not practicing in school but they're writing in the world all the time. And they're doing the kinds of things that we ask of the writers practice all the time, they're thinking about audience. An example I use in first year writing, I'll say, âYou guys will text your parents that you're going out. You guys will text your friends that you're going out. What is the difference between the message you text to your parents and the message you text to your friends?â And they understand instantly that they're tailoring a message to audience for radically different purposes.
"Instant feedback can be horrible for a piece of writing. It can be much much better to let the writer sit with having written for a period of time to let that filter through."
âJohn Warner
And it's a relatively small matter to get them to start translating that in academic or scholarly contexts. Once you give them an audience, often they've not been writing for an audience. They've been writing for a teacher in the generic sense, or an assessment which really is entirely disembodied, where they're following the moves because those are the moves that they know the invisible assessor is going to like. So as soon as I give them audience and purpose they're often off and running. And it's not a difficult or painful switch at that point.
In your book you criticize many technology innovations around the teaching of writing. Could you talk about that?
Thereâs Edison's quote about how the moving picture is going to replace the classroom, or the hype around MOOCs when we still thought those were going to be innovative⌠I think that is incorrect and it's particularly incorrect for writing. Because there's no information I can give students about writing that will help them write better. I am of the belief that writing can't be taught, but it can be a learned school of thought. I can create the conditions and experiences under which writing can be engaged with, and challenges that are interesting and get students to want to do it more. But ultimately that's going to happen within the student.
I'm thinking about your piece on being John McPhee's student. And it's a great example of that process. The teacher brings you into his world, and says this is how writers act, how they behave, how they think, what they do. And it's great to be exposed to that, but ultimately you have to go put that into your practice. So I spent a lot of time just setting the terms of the action: Here's what we're going to try to do, here are the parameters under which I want us to do it, and I then provide a soundboard and feedback.
It's easy to describe what a good piece of writing looks like, but the process to produce that writing is incredibly complicated and hugely variable depending on who's doing it, and why they're doing it and what they're doing. Which I love. That's the fascinating part of the job for me. That's why I love teaching writing. But it does not lend itself to prescription, and it particularly is not something where the kinds of technologies that are injecting themselves into the space are helpful.
People argue essay grading software can make things more efficient, and help bring down the high cost of education. So what's not to like about this idea of automated grading?
The big problem is that efficiency is not a value when it comes to learning to write. Learning to write is a process that requires failure, that requires trying things over again. That requires taking a big swing and missing. And a lot of that has to happen internally to the writer themselves. So when these algorithms intervene, they can really only score an essay. To give it, say, a four out of five. That feedback by itself is not helpful.
[People tout that software gives instant feedback.] Instant feedback can be horrible for a piece of writing. It can be much much better to let the writer sit with having written for a period of time to let that filter through. I'm sure any writer has experienced this, where you wrote a draft of something, you let it sit there, you went and did something else, maybe you went to sleep or you walked the dog or you took a shower, or you did your yoga or whatever your thing is. And you came back to it, and you look at it again, and something that was stuck in your craw, all the sudden you have a solution for it.
In the book you also mention that even other technologies outside of the classroom are hurting student writing. Even Fitbits?
Fitbit's as a kind of experience of quantification and surveillance. [It sets the expectation that we'll be monitored.] Surveillance ruins the atmosphere for writing, and learning in general, I think. I talk about an app called Class Dojo that I think is potentially doing great harm to students because it's making them hyper aware of being watched in school. And the class portals where they're getting notifications of their grades in real time. A huge part of learning to write is failing, is trying to do something and not succeeding at it.
How would you boil that down to a TED talk?
Well, my Ted Talk would be very short. And it would be âfund public higher education.â [So that colleges can pay professors to grade student writing instead of using software.]

Faced with a new wave of scrutiny over his tax returns when House Democrats take power in 2019, President Donald Trump is turning to an old â and totally incorrect â defense: Sorry, theyâre under audit.
That was part of the rambling justification Trump gave Wednesday when asked at a post-election press conference about the near certainty that Democrats will put his tax returns on their agenda in January. In addition to breaking out that old campaign trail excuse, he also claimed theyâd be too complex and long for anyone to understand.
âBut people do not understand tax returns. I did a filing of over 100 pages, which is in the offices â pity them â with people went and saw that filing, they saw the magnitude of it and they were very disappointed. They saw the detail,â Trump, ah, explained, adding, that his returns could be âfeet high.â
The argument that Trumpâs tax returns are long and complicated doesnât really seem like one that will dissuade Democrats and government watchdogs who say that his tax returns could reveal any number of critical conflicts of interest, including those with foreign governments.
But that wasnât really the root of Trumpâs defense Wednesday. He then returned to his old argument: Listen, heâd release them â feet-high stacks of paper and all â but his hands are tied.
âBut if I were finished with the audit â I would have an open mind to it,â he said. âBut I do not want to do it during the audit. And no lawyer, even from the other side, they say often. Not always. But when you are under audit, you do not subject it to that. You get it done, and then he released it.â
âNobody returns a return when it is under audit,â he added.
Every president since Richard Nixon has released their tax returns. Trump has repeatedly refused to do so.
While campaigning, he blamed the IRS audit, saying he couldnât make his returns public while it was ongoing. (Once he won the presidential electionâ and Republicans in Congress refused to examine them â no incentive existed for him to release them.)
Trump may indeed be facing an audit, and that would make sense if his returns were as complicated as he suggests. But there is no law or rule preventing him from releasing returns if thatâs the case.
And once again, the complexity of Trumpâs tax returns only underscores why the public should have a chance to see them. In October, the New York Times published a blockbuster report that revealed how Trump had used sketchy schemes to avoid paying taxes on his income and the wealth he inherited from his father â nearly $413 million in todayâs dollars. The reportersâ analysis and tax experts suggested that the antics the Trump family used could possibly be criminal, though the statute of limitations would have long since passed.
As Voxâs Matt Yglesias wrote in response to the Times report:
⌠the fact that the president appears to have been involved in serious financial crimes in the past finally puts a very heavy finger on the most likely reason for his unprecedented lack of transparency â he didnât magically stop committing crimes in the mid-1990s, heâs just been getting away with it in an era of reduced enforcement and he fears his documents wouldnât stand up to scrutiny.
Thatâs all speculation until Trump releases his tax returns. Democrats will try to force him to do so with a simple vote â though it seems clear the president is ready to resist.
âIf the Democrats think they are going to waste Taxpayer Money investigating us at the House level, then we will likewise be forced to consider investigating them for all of the leaks of Classified Information, and much else, at the Senate level,â Trump tweeted on Wednesday. âTwo can play that game!â
Original Source -> Democrats are coming for Trumpâs tax returns. He just lied about them again.
