Since they where 15/16, they followed an affection pattern that blurred the lines between friendship and love, without ever verbalizing it. A desperate need for real human connection on one side, and a never ending adoration on the other. They are their first lover, and their relationship lasted up until Padmé saw Anakin again. It wasn't a constant thing, sometimes Padme would pull back for days or months, finding another man or woman, sometimes for no particular reasons, but always coming back to her. But after Anakin entered Padmé's life for good, Sabé felt it was different. She knew she lost her queen when she stopped looking at her.

They never needed to verbalize anything for so long, Padme never said anything. She just unconsciously pulled away little by little, leaving Sabé behind.

Padme fell for Anakin, because with her she could drop the Queen/Senator Amidala act, let herself be less than perfect, a real person.

For Sabé the sky got overcast, the sun is still here but she can't feel her warmth. Not in the way she used to

To sum it up : Anakin homewreckerrrrrr (unknowingly but still)

This kinda has some giallo vibes- ig it's appropriate since Naboo in sw2 was filmed in Italy

PS : would you fuck your clone ? Padmé and Sabé answer "yes of course, who else would know me better ?" in unison
