I've been slowly tweaking these designs for a couple of weeks now, and now I can finally introduce the Uncles, the colorful group of friends/roommates who raised Hed and Les (word "raised" used loosely, but they definitely shared the living space with them).

From left to right: Kymani, Bramble, Adewale, Benji, Jenga, and Licorice "Ish" with his boys. Let's say Hed and Les are 15 and 19 here, maybe a year older, which means the rest are only in their mid 30s.

and I've been really appreciating all the book recommendations I've been getting! Thrilled to look up ones I've never heard of, I love seeing what sort of books stick with people enough that it's a go-to recommendation! There's a few I've already put on hold at my library :3

#i couldn't tell you why exactly but this book is making me think of The Marrow Thieves #though that might just be because all ya dystopia makes me think of The Marrow Thieves #which is a highwater mark for the genre imho #also the people who recommended me Disabled Tyrant's Beloved Pet Fish and Murderbot Diaries - you understand me on a fundamental level u.u #excellent taste i am shaking you by the hand #also had two discrete people recommend the httyd books which amused me #anyway if anyone else has a book rec for me throw them my way i've been reading nothing but duds lately #i really need something GOOD to break this funk #bene speaks
