Ok but imagine.
tucker gets adopted by oracle, sam by poison ivy, and Danny is simply chilling. This comes to a head when the batfam + their newest member have a big fight with poison ivy and her newest prodigy.
It's really bloody, and at some point it became all out brawl, especially the fight between the protege and tucker controlled robots, when Danny suddenly runs into the middle of this, knocks the robot out, holds Sam by her neck like a kitten, and simply goes "guys! I've just met this really cool guy, who's willing to help us with the literally project!!!"
Sam stops struggling, another tucker controlled drone comes flying both going like "really? Oh shit lead the way!" Before the trio disappears (like quickly run away. No illegal power using here, no sir)
As it turns out, this whole thing was because the trio had to do a presentation on some really long book for literature, but as none of them wanted to do it, they decided to bet on how will Gotham be after they leave it. Sam bet on poison ivy taking over at least ones, tucker on bats keeping everything in control the whole time and Danny kept his bet a secret (he wrote it down and left with jazz though).
They never said they can't interfere and while all of them know it, only tucker and Sam decided to all out join their favorites. Danny on the other hand decided to concentrate on doing normal guy stuff. Like going around sights, trying to watch the stars, accidentally killing the joker, tasting some Gotham only deserts, living through several PTSD induced break downs, tasting something from batburger, asking a random stranger for their number, realizing the stranger is actually a rogue known as red hood, sleeping 8 hours per night, discover said crime lord is very good at literature and stopping the almost all out war that your two friends started!
Overall he throught this was really good trip all around :)
Transfers
Jim Gordon decided to offer his home to the students transferring from Casper High to Gotham Prep for a few months. Barbara wasn't too happy about it but Jim preferred that to having those kids end up in a dangerous place or worse, with Bruce Wayne (he meant well but frankly Jim would rather not risk another young vigilante). Besides, one of the transfers practically demanded a restraining order against the millionaires, the poor kid.
Honestly Jim didn't understand why the transfer program existed. Casper didn't know how dangerous Gotham was? Or didn't they care?, all he hoped was that he could keep them safe and that they wouldn't come back to their home too traumatized.
Of course, he had no way of knowing that the Casper's trio was more than ready for Gotham, with weapons disguised in their suitcases and a ghost hero about to enjoy an extended vacation after negotiating a deal with the ghosts.
Gotham wouldn't know who hit it.
#dpxdc#transfer students#eternal trio#everlasting trio#dcxdp#dpxdc crossover#crossover#dannys bet was on the joker dying#in ironic twist of fate he was the one to kill him#in my version of events it would be pretty traumatizing for someone who died as painfully as danny did to kill someone#for more angst danny is the only one who knows and is unable to say anything because his brain is doing everhthing to forget it#jason ends up finding the body but doesn't tell anyone because he needed to get ready for the ensuing fight for territory#and to find out to who to give flowers#his search led him to danny who in order to distract himself doesbt five himself a moment to think does dumb shit like asking random ppl's#number. jason thinks hes been discovered as red hood bc who would do that in Gotham?????? starts threatening him (lightly)#when danny genuinely acts like he doesnt know what hes talking abt (bc he fr doesnt remember) he apologizes but still keeps close#they start talking abt each others interest and it ends up w danny finding out abt his love for books#danny fenton#jason todd#sam mason#batpham#tucker foley#meanwhile poison ivy and bat/fam make temporary truce to find out what the actual fuck just happened#yeahhhh this is basically hahhahahha oh wait hahahhahahahahhahahha oh no hahhahahahaha why were still here just to suffer-

Making sense of the “childhood connection” in Love Scout
The Episode 9 preview has pretty much confirmed that Jiyun’s father died saving Eunho – a plot point that I foresaw but have been dreading. Beyond the fundamental improbability of these two people being connected in this way, I was of the position that Jiyun holds too much resentment towards her father to be satisfyingly resolved in so few episodes. However, since the writing and characterisation thus far has been so thoughtful, I wanted to try approaching this not as something to forgive/ignore in the show, but rather something that might make sense for character growth and healing. That is, I think it’s worth considering this childhood connection beyond ‘trope for the sake of trope’, and instead delve more deeply into its potential narrative function.
In Jiyun’s mind, she has judged her father to be a “bad father”; a “liar” for telling her he’d always be by her side, and then making a choice that resulted in his death. This one-dimensional villainisation of her father makes it easier for her to deal with this perceived abandonment – by minimising him and his value to her, she reduces the magnitude of his loss, and therefore of her own grief. Without any form of destabilisation of this narrative she has constructed, she could probably have gone the rest of her life without truly processing his death. Even Eunho – in a scenario where he was not directly involved in the fire – might not have been able to encourage her to forgive her father, certainly not in the foreseeable future. Given his personality, he would not have pushed her too hard (“even being asked questions might be hurtful”); he might have even accepted her version of events, since he’ll “always let her win”.
Therefore, within the time limitations of a 12-episode drama and considering the typical melo tropes, I can understand why this route was chosen to force Jiyun to face her past and reframe her own characterisation of her father – just as Eunho caused her to reevaluate her assumption that “feeling lonely was a luxury”, which she had accepted as truth. In order for this plot point to land for me, though, it needs to go beyond the simple rewriting of Jiyun’s father’s death as a noble sacrifice, just so that Eunho could live and come into her life. It certainly cannot be as cynical as ‘what if you met someone who was perfect in every way but one’ – that he is the ‘cause’ of the hardships she suffered in childhood. Even worse would be Jiyun staying with Eunho ‘in spite of’ this revelation, rather than genuinely working through her trauma. I am hoping that the show will tackle the complexity of Jiyun’s grief, and also that of Eunho’s survivor’s guilt, and I wonder if the writer found a way to interweave this with the Career Way/investor plotline (at least beyond ‘we have to put aside our pain and support each other through this unrelated conflict’).
I will say that I would not be surprised if Jiyun pushes Eunho away in the first instance. It’s understandable for her to need space, and especially to default to her solitude. My prediction is that she will bury herself in her work again – after all, perfectionism is a coping mechanism that she (as well as Eunho) developed to deal with her traumatic past – and overwork herself to yet another breaking point that will require her to be hospitalised. (The pressure being put on her brain is likely caused not just by stress from her work, but also the repression of her grief in response to the loss of both her father and her former mentor at Career Way.) This will give Eunho room to step into a caretaking role that she will not be able to avoid, and hopefully open the door for honest communication. As much as they want to be considerate of and avoid hurting each other, they will have to cause each other pain to get through this.
#love scout#love scout meta#i wanted to consider why a writer might decide this was necessary in the bigger picture#beyond simply putting the characters through unnecessary and senseless suffering#writing mini essays as my coping mechanism for episode 9++#hoping i will be surprised by the handling of this revelation

Question: How many AU Bloodmoons do you have?
BOY AINT THAT A GOOD QUESTION
*slams three notebooks, an iPad, and the phone on the table*
LET US FIND OUT!
Bloodmoons that I have written or drawn about in public platforms where their existences can be confirmed:
Five pairs and a single, these are:
Everyone is alive, for some reason- My takes on Bloodmoon I and Bloodmoon II that appear on a one shot I wrote and a concept I shared here; Dagger and Rifle (placeholder name, I don’t know what else to call him :(), Rabies and Bleed
The Moon and Sun show- The ones from my swap au, which I am still counting because Fang has exactly one line which was meant as foreshadowing tho I don’t know if it worked cuz no one mentioned it; Scythe and Fang
The Bloodmoon One- The ones from… that au (which for some reason I made an alternate timeline for where they’re humans); Bloody and Harvest
Get in losers- The ones from my more silly au where everyone joins the family; Hunter and Harvest
The bffs- The one that got separated and became Jack’s friend, or has Jack as his emotional support bot, and the root world of the Virus!Jack event; Original
Those are the guys you guys can figure out I made rather easily.
Now, having looked through my notebooks and writing spaces, and counting the six Bloodmoons we already have:
Sixteen pairs, two singles, one trio, and one quartet
That’s eleven pairs, one single, one trio, and one quartet more than what you guys know.
Let’s get into their lore, shall we?:
The tree at face value- I was experimenting with family set ups for the Celestials and decided to take things literally, Bloodmoon here would be the child of Eclipse. They were never named.
Creator sucks, deluxe edition- okay, okay, this one is weird, and I’ll admit I wasn’t really thinking it through when I made the concept, ergo it will probably come off as insensitive and weird, which is understandable because I was not thinking through what I was thinking. So, human au, Sun and Moon and Lunar have DID, both Bloodmoons are Lunar’s alters. That’s it. This is one of the two aus in which the twins are younger than 20. Lunar, Hunter, and Harvest.
The RaTc (pronounced ‘rats’)- short for ‘Redhead and traumatized club’, basically a place where I drop all my favorites//ocs that have so many things in common that I can refer to them as being ‘the same guy’. Bloodmoon II was the latest addition. Original and Adaptation
Uno-less afterlife- my take on the ghost versions of the dead SAMS characters, I’m planning to write a one shot for this one when Sun dies (or if, I guess). There’s the first Bloodmoon who’s half melted and kinda disintegrating, and the newer addition of a mutilated Adaptation II. Original and Adaptation, Copy Adaptation
This is what you wanted- that concept I shared sometime last month (?), Bloodmoon wanting to get reprogrammed and getting Eclipse to help them, and then getting amnesia. Ruby and Scarlet
DND mini phase- a simple doodle of Bloodmoon as a vampiric rogue, thing which I don’t even know if it’s possible. They weren’t named
Death game- … I may have watched a Danganronpa let’s play. Look, the concept is neat, and the character designs are cool as hell! That said, I did plan a whole au revolving around the SAMS characters being put in a death game, I’m pretty sure I planned to have the twins kill someone and get away with it because of a loop hole. Bloody and Harvest
Fantasy au- not restricted but definitely inspired by DnD, a magical world where there’s all sorts of creatures and places. The Bloodmoons were vampires that Eclipse got to work for him, and then got out of control. Ruin revived them as a demon on account of being a necromancer. Neither the first or second versions were named
Pure and utter regret- I… I might’ve… I might’ve shipped the twins and Jack at some point— It was a crackship and I don’t even ship them anymore, I‘ve adopted the ‘Bloodmoon is aroace’ headcanon, and y’know, canon is being canon for Jack. They’re really just friends now. Yet, I still have about three digital pages worth of them being all kissy and shit. I feel like shit. Fuck, I even had a name for them. I hate myself. They go by every single name ever given to a Bloodmoon (because this was purely a fun crack ship)
April fools actor au- exactly as it says, Sun and Moon started thinking of ways to bring engagement up for the channel, and then Eclipse popped up, and so they all ran the channel together, bouncing ideas off of one another, and so began the lore episodes. Bloodmoon is a bot that was made by Eclipse from some scraps of code he did originally intend to use to mess with the Celestial twins, now repurposed into a theatre kid. They probably have names but they’re only referred to as Original and Adaptation
I got infected by Magic Girlitis- I was watching a bunch of videos about Madoka Magica, and then I watched the ‘Will you press the button’ video, so now I have magical girl designs for Moon, Sun, and Lunar. I never got to them, but the blood twins would’ve had a really cool introduction and would’ve been a genuinely scary antagonist to our heroes. They weren’t named
Fragment of the ocean- I asked a friend of mine what I should draw for Mermay, they said mermaids and oceanic creatures, I accidentally created an au. Bloodmoon is an apparent human (has never been seen as a mermaid), who after being controlled and used by several people was adopted into the Foxy family. They also have DID, because human. This is the second au where the twins are younger than 20. Bloody, Scythe, Hunter, and Rabies
AAaaaand that’s a wrap! Those are all the Bloodmoons I have come up with!
I think
I hope
🎶I pray that he— uh wrong character
I may have issues
#ask#sun and moon show#tsams#sams au#sams au idea#au bloodmoon#bloodmoon sams#sams bloodtwins#sams bloodmoon#tsams bloodmoon#I have been writing for an hour#I wish I was kidding#I am so tired god—#hopefully my rambled were understandable#if not. I was taking a look about how nobody noticed the Shimura house collapsing and how Tenko was able to get away, until I remembered the fact that I had a car accident literally occurred outside my house while I was taking a shower. My parents heard it loud and clear and thought I somehow broke the shower glass door but I didn't hear anything so here is my theory after checking with the anime version of the scene, since that one has a timestamp. This works independently of whether Tenko is a Quirkless who was given Decay or if Decay was a late blooming natural Quirk.
The entire house collapse took about minute and wasn't that loud. If taking a shower, which are often done in an enclosed space is capable of reducing noise, the neighbors probably wouldn't have heard it. There's also the fact that they could've been watching something loud on TV, like an action pack movie that has a lot of explosions or could've been hearing headphones.
This is Japan. The Shimura household and neighborhood could've been in an earthquake zone, which means that if the neighbors were to feel something like an earthquake, they would prioritized themselves and their families first, not go where the earthquake originated and get themselves hurt. It could also have been a villain attack nearby and with it being night, it would not be safe to go outside.
The neighbors could literally not be home at that time and let the lights on, which some have done.
The situation occurred at nighttime, where visibility is low, the activities are low and people aren't as likely to go outside for any reason. If they didn't noticed the accident, it could reasonably to assume that the light being out could mean that the Shimuras aren't there or they decided to to to sleep. Outside of certain people, who would look at their neighbor's house when the blinds could be down, thus letting out the indoor lights but people from seeing in or out?
Given that this a house in a suburban Japan, whether this occurs in the city or rural area, checking online, the average police response time in Japan is ~10 minutes, but this requires somebody to call the police, which someone obviously did in the morning. The Japanese police and heroes aren't going to be actively patrolling in a safe area that often.
Tenko is a 5 year old child who just killed his entire family, destroyed his house and gained traumatic memories from the event; the key part, he is a 5 years old child. Given his age, children that young, when they know that they did something wrong, is to either freeze up, deny/blame the situation, or leave the area. Children that age or younger and are capable of walking can easily go away from one's sight without anyone paying attention.
Tenko is the sole survivor. No one in the Shimura family other than Tenko survived, which means that there is nobody to report that he could still be around. It is reasonable to assume, judging by the state of the Shimura house and the sheer amount of dust to assume that the entire family died due to a villain attack.
Tenko post Quirk awakening does not look like Tenko Shimura pre-Quirk awakening. The stress of awakening Decay resulting in his hair turning white and making his skin a lot more drier and itchy, thus people aren't going to recognize such a kid. Unfortunately, Tenko looks like a homeless person so nobody is going to help such a kid in a dire situation and goes by the Bystander Effect of letting someone else do the job. Tenko could just been an orphan kid down on his luck, and Japan doesn't really treat orphans well.
Honestly it's pretty easy for Tenko to have simply slipped through the cracks

Let's read Moriarty Volume 10

I was starting to think I wouldn't have to do a review while reading this volume. The story held up pretty well, the main character of the arc was treated with respect (*ahem* not like Sherlock *ahem*). All I got was mostly nitpicking. Depending on how you look at it, this entire review IS nitpicking. Except for a few things.
Down with the masks
THE moment that made me decide to review this volume.
Will has forgotten to wear a mask again (AGAIN!!!!!!!).
Yes, William is very handsome. But there are times when you have to hide that beauty. Like when you are in public under your secret identity.
The last time Will made that mistake, he got caught by Milverton. An information tycoon and THE blackmailing king. At some point, you have to learn from your mistakes.
William didn't even need to be there in person. Someone else could have taken his place, it would have reduced the chances of being recognized even more (he is a well-known and popular member of high society). His presence was not at all essential.
His lack of caution could have put him in great danger. What if someone recognized him in the crowd?
He is a criminal mastermind, normally he should only go into the field himself in case of extreme necessity. That's what Moriarty is supposed to be. He manipulates in the shadows and never gets his hands dirty himself.
ACAB
Quick question: since Will must already know that a cop was bribed/threatened to kill the witness, why didn't he think to send men to protect the MP's family? One of his men is the chief inspector, he could have informed him if William didn't already guess. Even without the bribes, the police have never been exemplary, no reason to trust them when lives are threatened.
The more I think about it, the less sense it makes.
Moran says that maybe they should support Whiteley if he passes William's test. He did. Why not protect him?
Will William and his team at least feel guilty because they could have done more to prevent this tragedy and continue on a less bloody path? I have my doubts.
Starsky and Hutch
Where is the second cop?
We don't see him at all anymore (even his corpse) and he's not mentioned anymore. Is he mentioned in a dialogue that the French version cut? Did the author just forget about him?
Whiteley
Not really a criticism, more of a discussion.
I don't understand why Whiteley immediately abandoned his project.
He could have continued to claim that the cop died with everyone else and blamed his political opponents behind it all. Or say that he killed the cop in self-defense, and passed himself off as a hero. Milverton would have tried to destroy everything, sure, but 1) Whiteley doesn't know that and 2) there are limits to what the tycoon can do, the MP is still considered a hero of the people despite the slander.
"Yes, but that's forgetting that Whiteley doesn't WANT to fight back. He feels guilty and wants to pay the price." That's true.
But how did Milverton and Sherlock guess that Whiteley would react exactly like that? People can react unpredictably in extreme situations.
Traumatic events can change people drastically. Look at Kuzco, he becomes nice at the end when he was a big jerk. And in a less happy version, D-16 in Transformers One. He goes from a loyal friend to a terrorist who kills and abandons his best friend.
"Yes, but there were warning signs for them." Not for Kuzco. But I agree about D-16. I will counter, however, that there were also warning signs for Whiteley.
We have seen him lie and accept being booed, all to protect innocents. We have seen him use confidential information to blackmail his opponents. He is capable of getting his hands dirty for the greater good.
He could have continued despite the guilt. He killed the policeman to accomplish his revenge, knowing that his family is being held hostage. So he can continue to bear the weight of his crime to get revenge on the instigators of these murders.
(Well, I know why he didn't outside of plot reasons
He's not as good as the protagonists, of course)
Palpatox
Milverton's plan to get an innocent man to commit a crime is full of holes. Maybe Whiteley would have been paralyzed by the tragedy and wouldn't have killed the cop. Maybe he would have felt sorry for his situation since the cop was ordered to confess that his own family is being held hostage.
It would have been smarter to order the cop to say nothing. That would have risked attracting the MP's sympathy. Staying silent would have been more logical and annoying. Someone who slaughters your entire family and refuses to say why, that can be a driving force for murder.
Honestly, it wouldn't have been more tragic and horrible if Milverton had kidnapped Whiteley's family to force him to obey his orders, pitting his love for his family against his ideological struggle? His family being the driving force and motivation behind his fight vs the greater good.
William
I would have liked a passage (a real passage, not just one single line) where William thinks about the possibility that he is useless and that maybe things will work out without him. Would he be happy? Sad? Angry?
On the one hand, all his work would have been for nothing while his whole life revolves around this project. On the other hand, there will be less bloodshed, no need to sully his soul or risk his life or those of his friends.
He is the MC after all, what does he think about this whole thing?
Imagine if, unconsciously, William had willingly let Whiteley's family get massacred. He didn't want to protect him or help what could put a brake on his project. Because William dedicated his life to his own project, everything revolves around it: his personality, his skills, his past, his visions for the future…
Another possibility: Whiteley who loses his mind and decides to become more radical in his fight. Who goes way too far, becoming a hindrance to his own ideal, to the point that the heroes are forced to eliminate him, he who was a symbol of hope. All because they failed to protect him. That would have been delicious.
But here, William loses nothing, emotionally or materially. Quite the opposite, Whiteley's death serves his plan, and rids him of a rival (on the meta level). He is the hero who will save England, no one else.
It's a shame that he is so distant from his own story. He seems like a side character, even tertiary: he has no flaws, we never see him thought, he has no arc…
A hero makes choices, they have difficulties, they evolve…
Will's difficulties are of the anecdotal order. He is always perfect, he is (almost) always right. He never doubts.
And it wastes a lot of psychological potential!
We also had this problem with the Jack the Ripper case, which had been a very very obvious parallel with the heroes: an organized group ready to commit atrocities to improve society (even the characters say so!). It had been an opportunity for them:
to reflect on the horror of what they inspired,
to know how far they themselves are ready to go,
to question themselves on what they have already done (that famous drunkard they helped to kill)...
But it is just presented as the enemies are big buffoons not as competent and intelligent as the heroes.
Mycroft
It's good that the author included that Sherlock is less intelligent than his brother, because that's the case in the books. Except that there are two problems:
Mycroft in the books doesn't do anything, so even if Sherlock is less brilliant, he acts. So his brother doesn't really come out on top,
Sherlock in this manga has already been beaten up over and over again by other characters. Him being humiliated again by someone is not interesting.
This Mycroft doesn't seem at all like the type who goes to this type of club for antisocials. I really hope that it would be of interest later, and that it's not just a reference that serves no purpose.
Sherlock (again)
I still have a problem with this Sherlock. He's just an asshole.
There are some things you don't need to understand or accept to respect them. If people come to talk to no one, don't yell at people. The poor guy Sherlock had zeroed in on must have felt both stressed and humiliated by the situation. This scene serves no purpose other than to show that Sherlock is an asshole. He simply behaves like a bully.
At this point, I should have gotten used to it but I really can't accept this version of Sherlock. The original is sometimes rude, often disorganized, but he is a gentleman. He is certainly not vulgar.
I can totally accept that there are changes in an adaptation. I don't mind that Robert Downey Jr's movie does something equivalent. Because 1) he's funny 2) he's the main character and no one steals the show or is 1000 times better than him and 3) he's not as horrible as this interpretation.
The qualities of this Sherlock are the same as those of other characters, but worse. Characters who have more qualities and fewer flaws than Sherlock.
It doesn't make him endearing, fascinating or threatening. He just seems stupid and quite detestable, while he's Will's nemesis! And that's a choice on the author's part! The original is not like that. The only reason I see behind such a strange decision is to highlight William compared to the iconic figure of Sherlock Holmes.
EXCEPT THAT!
You see the value of a character in the value of his adversary. By wanting to make Will super cool compared to Sherlock, the author lowered the value of his main character.
It's sad that in a story based on the Sherlock Holmes universe, Sherlock is one of his biggest flaws.
This scene comes just after William offered to kill Whiteley, sacrificing his morals for the common good and to relieve the deputy's guilt, and that Whiteley's last thoughts are to thank Will's greatness (not even his murdered relatives).

The first time we see Sherlock in this volume, he gets yelled at for not cleaning. Then, he pisses off poor people and gets humiliated by his brother.
What a contrast.
Big Bang Theory
There are probably multiple factors that Sherlock simply doesn't know. He doesn't know the MP, he can only rely on his reputation (good idea when the information tycoon tries to ruin his image. At least it shows his efficiency). Maybe Whiteley wasn't as innocent as he seemed but he hid his game well.
He also doesn't know the Lord of Crime. He just has suspicions about his identity, but he doesn't know who and how many make up his organization, or how it is organized. Sherlock doesn't know if these men are loyal to William, if there are tensions between the members, different opinions or visions, if there are several leaders… All the elements that could motivate a change of methods or strategies.
Also, the Lord of Crime is a serial killer.
Sherlock idealizes a murderer way too much. Maybe the Lord of Crime is not a real vigilante. Maybe the power has gone to his brain. Maybe he wanted to eliminate a competitor for the position of "savior of England".
For once, we have real explanations, it's less "we gave the characters the script" like with Jack the Ripper. On the other hand, they are not for the readers, we already know what happened. They are there just to explain Sherlock's train of thought. But they still lack substance. When Sherlock talks about the bodyguard as a possible real murderer, he could make the connection with the policeman corrpted to assassinate an inconvenient witness. Logical, fluid, But strangely nothing.
Imagine we don't know what happened, we just followed Sherlock's point of view from the beginning. Would his explanation hold water? It may be that the murderer is the deputy's second-in-command - Sherlock doesn't know him, that would be a possibility.
Honestly, if the author is going to humiliate Sherlock and put him in the wrong, why not make him doubt the Lord of Crime?
Lord of Crime
At what point is anyone going to judge the Lord of Crime (among those who know) for killing someone to "help" them? Or for using crime to improve society? No one to say that it's nonsense? Not necessarily from an objective point of view, but at least from a difference of opinion.
Normally, someone is bound to disagree with the idea of using murder and violence to bring peace and prosperity to the country.
Instead, everyone treats it as a noble sacrifice, a difficult decision that will hurt William but is unfortunately necessary.
Me right now:

Politics
I complain again about the author's lack of complexity and research, but the fact that we don't really see Whiteley playing politics really hurts the credibility. It's his weapon and his battlefield.
Maybe I get this impression because William didn't move his ass to protect him, or because Milverton personally doesn't care about the equality - or not - of the system, but his failure feels very situational. Maybe someone luckier (or someone without a family) could have done it. While this is an arc that should have shown that the legal and honest way doesn't work, so a more radical method is needed*.
Whiteley is not destroyed by the system he is fighting, he just got unlucky. I know Milverton is hired by the House of Lords, but he is another player, someone external. If William and co. had protected Whiteley and his family, the MP could have continued his fight.
Whereas if the system, and not Milverton, was the problem, he would have been crushed more. He would have held on, but we would see the suffering, the frustration, and we would see why, despite his good intentions and great skills, it is not enough.
We could have kept the massacred family in this context, as the final nail in his coffin. And that would have made his reaction to their deaths (and Milverton's prediction) more logical. Even admitting that the policeman's family is being held hostage would have made sense.
It would have made William's decision to use crime more logical, and would seem like the only solution. While improving his image even more, because he would be the one and only person helping a character we would really care about, and his death would indeed seem like a deliverance.
Because in the end, losing your temper “only” because your family was killed – even in a horrible way – and killing people afterwards, that’s been done before. Anakin did it in Attack of the Clones in 2002.
(And overall, the arc should have been longer. Compiled with the previous volume, the Whiteley case lasts a volume max. At least to get attached to the deputy's family. I was neither sad nor shocked by their deaths, while it is Whiteley's tipping point. Introduced at the beginning of the volume and killed halfway through, it doesn't make attachment easy.
We could have at least had a moment with the maid and the cops. They ask her for her experienced opinion on the situation, her boss, the kid (what happened to him), etc. They themselves would talk about their family (wink wink)… So that we have a real moment with her, and we would get a little more attached to the cops, so what happens to the murderer will be even more tragic.)
*The idea that only the path of crime can bring about an era of peace and equality has already been ruined with Will's trial, but that's beside the point.
Coincidence? I THINK NOT!
This is not a criticism specific to Moriarty The Patriot but to all stories that use this type of "reasoning".
Sherlock and his brother's analysis of the grieving father is nonsense. As are the phone chargers in BBC Sherlock. The father may have lost someone else (a parent, a sibling, a friend), maybe one or both of the children are not his, and the toys are gifts for someone else's children.

How did you get to this conclusion???
At this point I can also come out with my theory: he killed his wife. He knows how to kill thanks to his military career bt regrets it now that he had to take care of the child alone.
Bonus
Why does this volume have a reversible cover with William on the back? Why, when it's Mrs. Hudson's turn, was it decided to also put the protagonist?
I'm reading this manga thanks to my local library, and you know which part they decided to put visible? William, obviously. I learned from the jokes at the end that the person on the cover was supposed to be Mrs. Hudson and I didn't understand anything. (That was NOT the volume to include this kind of joke)
Apparently, the rule for the cover is for odd-numbered volumes, one person from Moriarty's side, and for even-numbered volumes, one from Sherlock's side.
It's weird that it was when the character was a woman and an ally of Sherlock that there was the possibility to put the protagonist instead. It couldn't wait for the next volume. Now we have 3 Moriarty guys in a row (and no woman).
The Mrs Hudson one is so much better

Below: 'A Simple Morning'
My Live Reactions to Reading Through My 2011 Novel, pt. 3
Lea is back! The real one!
Okay now that she mentions it, I do actually remember Nick's power being teleportation
Sudden concern that Lea could've died, which doesn't appear to have much of a basis in anything that's happened so far. But tbf Kristen did just watch Shawna die, maybe she's just being a lil existential
Still hating on the name 'Shawna' I see, Teri...
*a section of laughing about Shawna's name* 'Then, I stopped laughing because I realized Shawna was dead.' (see, now I'M laughing)
'Shawna was dead. I still couldn't believe how I had watched someone die right in front of me! I felt terrible, and the view of her sitting there talking to me while she was dying wouldn't leave my head. Shawna was dead. Shawna was dead. Shawna was dead. The hideous words kept repeating themselves over and over in my poor, appalled mind. Shawna was dead. Shawna was dead.' while i do appreciate how clearly this event has affected her, two things. 1) I think Shawna might've died, guys and 2.) the intro of this story was so 'everybody down here Dies, everything Sucks, So Much Death All Around Us!!!!!!' that the fact that this girl is the first Kristen has Ever seen die is a little wild lol
Kristen arranges to get in a fight with her roommate, roommate dies due to brutality received prior to said fight, Kristen entirely guilt-ridden about it vs. Kristen like two scenes later, arranging to get in a fight with her Other roommate
Conflict avoided by clone!Lea and real!Lea nearly getting into their own fight
We're back to hanging out with Raevin, whose version of conflict resolution is to turn into a monkey
Apparently the mutant medic in the prison, who's also conveniently Raevin's best friend/'second mother', actually Volunteered to go to the compound (at least according to this memory/dream Raevin's having)
"I mean, you can't just leave Bill all alone; he doesn't make many friends on his own." Bill out here catching strays left and right from this kid lmaooo
okay jk Mary did Not volunteer for this gig
"Just because they have a successful business, they believe they are better than everyone else." *COUGH COUGH* early glimmerings of anticapitalist!Teri
Mary apparently told her ward/friend that she was getting summoned to this prison but not her fiance??
'The Institute of Discovery was going to be broken into... by Raevin.' what a crazy, totally unpredictable idea!!
"Where's the one who makes clones? It sleeps in this room, I believe. It will be punished severely for not showing up to inspection." "She bought the farm," I explained. When he looked confused, I continued. "Shawna wrote her last chapter, completed her journey, went to the other side!" (KRISTEN HER DEATH TRAUMATIZED YOU LIKE 12 HOURS AGO, WHERE IS THIS FLIPPANCY COMING FROM)
All it takes to earn the respect of all these prisoners is to Talk to them while you run your twisted experiments, and maybe remember a name or two
13-year-old me, needing to find a Bad Smell people can relate to hating: oh, i know! coffee!!
"I think I'd rather be on cleaning duty," Lea whispered to me with shaking hands. "I don't know a thing about economics." I glanced at her paper again. So far, she had written 'Economics are things to do with the economy. And the economy is real bad.' so I'm currently rewatching the Mandalorian rn, and the visual this gave me was Grogu sitting at that school desk as the droid teacher goes over questions about the galaxy
Yk, yeah, Kristen, screaming at one of the pretty important scientists here probably Wasn't a very good idea
'Lea would be safe, as long as she didn't come. And I didn't plan on her coming with me.' Lea can't even climb into her own bed, and you want to leave her behind???
Oooo, she's putting the Moves on Ben (patted his shoulder)
This story is about people getting placed into an underground prison camp and forced to do menial labor and being treated horribly, and yet the face I just made at Lea having been slapped by one of the scientists
Aaaaaaand Raevin again
"Bill, Bill, Bill, Bill, Bill, Bill, Bill!" Raevin shouted, pounding on the door of his house.' did you really need to write that out 7 times?
The absolute whiplash of Raevin excitedly telling Bill his fiance Might be alive, his understandably upset reaction that said fiance works at/for(?) their greatest enemy, and then Raevin sprinting back into town, sobbing
Back to Kristen Again
Ben is apparently Kristen's only option for helping her and Lea escape, for some inexplicable reason
So far, the whole 'mind control' thing really does seem to just be telepathy, but it also literally hasn't been used a single time yet so who knows
"There are a couple hundred guards and it's an abandoned government building. At least it appears to be so on the outside, but on the inside there are hundreds of rooms to get lost in with scientists around every corner. You know, an easy run," Ben shrugged. I did not want to know what kind of medication he had been taking lately.' pfft
Aww, Ben and Nick hate each other at first sight <3
"What's going on?" Nick asked, peering over at my paper. "Whoa, how in the world did you get lead? I thought we weren't allowed to have pencils! Can you get me some? I can't believe my ankle is okay now. Can you believe it? Lea just pressed her hand to it and it felt better. Lea has such cold hands, it's insane. Did you know that I can teleport places? I'm so proud of myself now. I could teleport from my house to the school and back without even getting tired! I bet I can go twice as far now. But I can't teleport through the ground, which sucks. I wish I could teleport through the ground. Don't you wish I could? I'd let you and Lea come with me if I escaped. Would you do the same for me? Huh, would you?" "Whoa lassie." (my neighbors are going to think I'm crazy for laughing like this)
Okay so apparently, based on that, Lea can heal people?? As one of her powers? Had no idea lol
Also, the second part of her powers is brought up immediately afterwards. Dream/perception manipulation. A kickass little 9-year-old
Meanwhile, Kristen has yet to use her powers, and Ben's haven't been so much as mentioned
'I could hear my vocal cords vibrating in anger again.' help?? what does this Mean???
How convenient! The characters run into a random guard (one of thousands, remember) who conveniently knows all the time tables for the shift of Every guard and scientist (there being a million, remember), and there's a perfect opportunity for them to escape!
'I couldn't believe the fact that I was going to actually see the stars again.' aw dude that's actually so sad wtf
Once again bouncing back to Raevin
So now the whole little gang of Mr. J's is breaking into the compound instead of just Raevin
"The government doesn't know this building exists. If they did, everyone working in that building would be under arrest and probably put to death. It's that serious." oh to have such faith in the government
'Of course, he just wanted to get mutants from the institute on his side so he could build an army to take out the U.S. government and take over, but Raevin didn't think he'd add that part in.' classic supervillain
Apparently Mr. J murdered Raevin's earliest childhood friend??
'What has happened has happened, and you can't change it,' Raevin insisted to herself. But at the same time, she knew that she could. It would be very possible to save Josh, but she knew better than to mess with time. The butterfly affect was not her friend.' Does Raevin have TIME manipulation?????
Wait, NOT all of this town is a mutant commune... most of them have no idea that a bunch of these people have superpowers
Anyways they're all about to go fight this building with a couple thousand guards and one million scientists
Ending Thoughts:
These chapters are looooooong! This one was OVER 8.5K! I truly just kept bouncing back and forth between both POVs. I also didn't realize how substantial Raevin's POV even was in this story. From what I could remember, she shows up once or twice at the start from her 3rd person perspective, meets up with the gang, and then it all melds into Kristen's 1st person. Which I guess could still happen, there's just more of Raevin's story than I thought! The fact that we are about 20K into this 50K novel and I don't even know people's full sets of powers yet is Wild lol I also keep cracking up at the phrasing that I decide to go with. Stuff like 'She bought the farm' or 'whoa lassie' said completely straight is Hilarious to me now

Obito ask! Modern AU. We know what happened in canon. What kind of life would Modern Obito have? Would he have any family left? Who raised him? What about his job? I'm really interested. I have this image of him, and I'm curious if yours is similar!
I try my very best to not let things deviate from the canon characterization and certain events regardless of the AU, even if there are a LOT of differences in terms of what the character goes through. The nice thing about Modern AUs is that it's a very flexible type of alternate universe, everything in a way can make sense as long as nothing breaks that character and makes them OOC. xD
So my version of Obito is a bit complex, but it's like this:
Obito is orphaned - parents died when he was young; and ended up getting raised by Madara. He's this cute, sweet, warm, bubbly and excited boy that we all know but tries his very best to work hard in school and impress others and had to endure a lot of criticism from Madara who wants him to realize his potential. Obito has always been the type to pave his own path and wants to achieve his own ambitions, so his relationship with Madara was sometimes tense and rocky because of how much they quarreled as Obito grew up and became rebellious.
Or maybe he'd grow up with his grandmother and she'd raise him and he ends up taking care of her as she gets older. Filial piety is a prominent and traditional norm in Eastern culture, and I tend to incorporate the Japanese culture into this AU because I think it's beautiful and respectful.
i'd say he had a pretty humble life, he's very selfless and determined until the day where he gets into an accident which leads to him having facial scars, and because that was a traumatic event in his life, his personality shifts into someone more reserved and stern and somewhat of a sexy cunt. Sometimes I envision him as someone who smokes when he's stressed, or someone who copes by going to the gym (mostly going for the latter). He's the type that hits the classy, quiet bars; before the accident he was sort of a party guy but that's out the window later.
The type of job he'd have would either be something corporate in which he owns his own company, or he'd be a cop? I have trouble deciding because it just depends on the setting and the pairing, lol. Maybe he'd be a martial artist and own a dojo? xD Either way, I'd say Obito is a total workaholic, where he projects this need to prove himself through his job because he had to endure growing up with a lot of criticisms and feeling like he's never good enough.
I mentioned he's a gym junkie...well, yeah, he is. xD He can't be a smoker and a gym junkie, so if I had to choose, I'd choose the gym. xDD
That's all I have for now. xD

Hey, I think I sent an ask a few days ago about headmates you're afraid of, not sure if it got eaten or you just didn't have enough time / info to respond, but I'm feeling a little more stable now so I'd like to elaborate if that's okay?
So. I'm a fictive of a character from an anime/manga, and the host of my system. This past weekend, we had a very traumatic incident happen. I don't want to put too many details that might trigger people, but the short version is that an event we were attending got swatted. It was all a false alarm, no one was hurt, and we were back to usual activities within an hour or so.
We knew.. Pretty much immediately that we were splitting over it. The symptoms we have for traumatic splits usually line up to a pretty consistent order for us so we were just braced for it. What I wasn't expecting was that we would split.. My grandmother.
We never met properly, in source. She died before I was born, and I grew up being told by my father and then my.. caretaker, for lack of a better word, that she had abandoned us, didn't care about her family, didn't care that we were hurting, and put the lives of strangers above her family. I only ever saw her.. Spirit? I suppose? In a few instances, and it obviously wasn't a happy reunion because I was so full of hate that I didn't care what she said.
I know from an objective sense that she was doing what she thought was best. I read our source and the longer it's gone on, the more I've realized just how much of my life was lies and fabrications from the people around me who wanted me to be hateful. I can see as an outside viewer that she wasn't pure evil like I thought. But that doesn't change the immediate gut feeling that I'm dealing with now that she's right in front of me again.
I panicked really badly when she first showed up in headspace. I'm usually a frontstuck host, but I fully switched out and hid in a corner of headspace for a few hours until our gatekeepers were able to pull her back into a different corner of the world that I don't have access too. She.. Looks a lot like I did when I was a kid. I wasn't expecting that.
I'm still not entirely sure how to react to all this or how to get comfortable with her being here. I don't want to panic and run every time she needs to front, but I also have no idea how to even approach her without all the heaviness from source crushing me completely. Sorry if this is really heavy. I'm just hoping you guys or someone else has some advice on coping with this.
Hi! We genuinely think your first ask got eaten, we’ve never seen an ask like this in our inbox… I’m so sorry!
It sounds like you’re dealing with a really tough situation. I guess we’d like to remind you that what you’ve heard from others may not align to what’s actually happened in your source’s past. Sometimes emotions can get the best of people, and situations can be misinterpreted, especially when tensions are high and family is involved.
Have you spoken to your grandmother in the system directly to hear from her what happened before you were born in your source? Maybe she had a good reason to leave, or thought she was acting in your family’s best interests at the time.
Additionally, she may not come with source memories, and not feel attached to her source at all. We firmly believe that introjects are their own people and cannot and should not be held accountable for events that happened in their source, even if they feel extremely connected to their source.
If it’s difficult to interact with her directly, perhaps try writing her a letter, or asking another headmate to pass a message along. Beginning to communicate, even if it’s hard, is the first step towards building trust. I know it won’t be easy, but unfortunately, it’s probably necessary in order for the two of you to come to an understanding and exist happily in the same mind.
We’re so sorry you’re going through something like this. If it’s easier for you, please remember that the grandmother in your headspace is an introject, just like you. She can’t help being formed and did not choose this - sometimes the brain makes internal choices that can’t be helped. We hope y’all can grow together and learn to coexist, and we’re wishing you the very best!

It's like fate that I'm in front the moment this question is posted /half joke
Let me introduce you to Sano Manjiro, aka Mikey from Tokyo Revengers.
WARNING: I briefly talk about gangs, murder and death in this so if that's not your thing, just remember him as plural without reasoning. Also this obviously will include spoilers because I can't shut up about this show once I start.
ALSO this is a very long post because I'm so autistic about this, so sorry.

He is, I should clarify, not canonically plural. In all fairness, in source, probably not a single thing would speak for him being plural. But I started headcanoning him as plural about a year ago now.
Part of the reason is absolutely me coping with our own plurality. During times of self-doubt, it gives me a sense of comfort to think about one of my favorites also being plural.
Other part of it is that I (sourced from Tokyo Revengers) had a feeling that in my canon Manjiro was plural. My boyfriend (also sourced from Tokyo Revengers) also said it absolutely could somehow be possible.
So let me go into Manjiro and into my headcanons real quick (real quick is a lie, I am info dumping).
Tokyo Revengers, just for quick clarification, is manga that focuses on gang fights in the early 2000s japan. Its main theme also includes time travel, which leads to many different future versions of characters.
I believe that one of the last future version we get to see of Manjiro, specifically the one in the "close to perfect because everyone is okay but him" timeline, is probably the most plural coded as he can get.
He is, in my eyes, BPDgenic, traumagenic and possibly an accidentally created System for coping purposes. Probably considered a Mixed System.
The guy has witnessed quite a few events over his life that can (and should be) considered traumatic. I could go into the events and why that is, but I can't spoil the whole story, even if I really want to.
I think the one thing I should mention is that he lost pretty much everyone dear to him. His parents died when he was still pretty small; his big brother was (somewhat accidentally) killed by someone he deemed a friend, his sister was (absolutely on purpose) killed by someone he knew and his step brother ended up dying in a gang fight. Most of his friends and acquaintances left him because he started going into directions they did not want to take with him (in relation to the gang).
He also carries some type of curse with him that I won't be going into much details. It essentially makes him unreasonably violent and kinda loose sense of his self.
SO. Who's in the System?

Manjiro obviously. He's the host and one of the two alters who actually fronts. The usage of "core" or whatever is debated in the community, but it's probably the closest thing I know on how to describe it. He uses he / him, is a bi cis man and fronts during less stressful times with one of his triggers being the protgonist of the story (since they're "best friends" in lore, but manjiro is kinda in love if you ask me).

Mikey, who is the other fronting alter. He is, I'd say, the protector and a prosecutor. He uses he/him pronouns and is aroace (repulsed on all sides). He is essentially the "manifestation" of that curse.

Shinichiro is one of the multiple non-fronting alters in the System. He is a factive of Manjiros older brother. He/Him, Bi or Hetero probably and has an unknown comforter role.

This is my love Emma (she's so pretty, i love her). She's Manjiros sister. She uses she/her, is hetero and an emotion holder probably. She's, in Manjiros eyes, the manifestation of happiness and safety. She's also a factive!

Izana is a factive of Manjiros step brother. They didn't know each other for long, due to a hard relationship in the past and stuff that I won't go into because it's not important for Manjiros plurality. Anyways, Izana goes by he/him, he's unlabeled queer and has no specific role other than being a reminder of what could've been (ow.)
I think Shinichiro, Emma and Izana are entirely non-fronting. They can be co-conscious when Manjiro is in front, but that's about all. They're not made to front. They're created to serve as a reminder to Manjiro what he lost.
Things I should also probably mention:
Manjiro was cursed back when he was still a child, but I think that Mikey split off of him way later in life. So I wouldn't deem his younger versions to be plural for this reason. The "curse" only started manifesting when he was older, and therefore his plurality also only appeared later in life.
Being plural is, not entirely, a negative experience for Manjiro. In his defense, his entire life has been a negative experience at some point which is the reason why he became plural to begin with. But I wouldn't say "having factives of his loved ones makes him happy and a better person". If anything, it makes him miserable, because it's almost like a constant reminder that they're the closest thing he'll get to seeing them again.
Sure, its comforting to have them by his side, and to have Mikey who holds onto the dark impulses (the canon name for the "curse"), but it's not the same to him.
I think Manjiros plurality ended up saving him from a worse future (if that's even possible), but it didn't make his life better or anything. All it did was stop it from getting even worse.
Also, he's my favourite because 1) coping, 2) I feel so bad for him in the entire story and 3) part of me in source was dating him so it's only fair to think about him. 😔
Ah uhm, yea I don't know where else to go with this because I don't think many will read all of this anyways. But I got to info dump about this, which is nice. And shoutout to whoever read till the end :) you're so cool.
question 71: do you have a favourite plural character? is that canonical or a headcanon of yours? why are they your favourite?

Kinda working on an au cuz i keep procrastinating on animatic and my life...
Tap for better quality, and some details of au are under the cut (just me rumbling my ideas)
Hunter is not a grimwalker here (still no magic)
He comes from family of wild witches, who were disposed of by belos's orders. But he as a kid got saved by the previous golden guard
Stuff happened, belos had another episode of cain's syndrome, no gg again
I haven't decided yet how hunter was taken in by emperor or even if hunter is his real name, but he still becomes gg later and there's no new grimwalker, for now... (let's say belos couldn't find some ingredients)
Darius here is on full dad mode already from time he knew his mentor rescued some kind against orders
However Hunter is so reckless and not so loyal, when he finally finds out bits of truth about his family, belos and gg (from darius... maybe lilith? I haven't really thought about her role) well, the boy is ready to oppose belos
Oh yea belos did make hunter do dirty job like getting rid of... rebelious witches. Yep, not only palismen suffer here by getting their souls eaten (but no belos doesn't eat witches... that would be too much...)
Good thing later (after several mental breakdowns) it comes in handy, like emperor himself points out great additions to the opposition you just need to fake some deaths
Also good news is that belos doesn't see hunter here as "a tryout for better version of his brother who inevitably will betray him or smth", right? Belos is still horrible to him tho. Difference is that Hunter isn't so isolated and has experience with normal human witch interactions, but no worries he is still traumatized cuz that was in no way a healthy environment for child or teen, or anybody really
Oh btw for this job hunter uses mask (grim) made by abomination magic (taught to him by coven head himself with the help of his stuff at first, later flapjack).
I want to give him a dog. Or at least something close to a dog. Wait how did you guess i'm a dog person? Anyway, he calls himself Grim, because y'know demon which appears as ghosty black hound and pordends death
It's 4 am for me when i'm writing this btw
Collector prob knows that hunter is against belos here but they think it's too entertaining so they don't tell him (i mean i love watching my friends trying to figure stuff out it's probably the same). Idk about this
No ships planned except canon ones, actually most events happen like in canon but hunter meets flapjack earlier, and resistance is pretty huge already but they're laying low, okay all episodes with hunter diverge, like hunting palismen, eclipse lake, any sport in the storm and hollow mind
Yep, sibling dynamic with luz, frienemies with amity (but less angst cuz eclipse lake went different) , friends with willow, gus, skara and viney, prank buddies with twins. Grim! Hunter actually trusts owl house residents except hooty, and knows them better, but he just can't leave the emperor's coven yet because plans
Of course he fucks up somewhere and now belos suspects him. Then hollow mind happens. And if there's nothing to lose it's a great opportunity to mess with emperor's mind from inside. Hunter almost dies in the process because of course he does. That's actually the main point of this au. How much you can hurt someone in their mindspace. (The second point is wordplay on grim/grimm/grimwalker)
I really like how characters use their stuff to just attack physically like guys you can cast a fireball but you punch them with a stick? So hunter's artifical stuff also can become sharp, he deserves a knife
Fyi i came up with this au while listening to all eyes on you by smash into pieces
Basically i wanted sassy hunter with support system going against belos while giving him smth new.

I've got to say, while Hannigram is very much unhealthy, I actually can't stand Molly and Will ( in the show at least ) for not being good for each other much more. With Hannigram, besides it being obvious what you're gonna get - no relationship between a serial killer and an FBI agent in denial about enjoying murdee will be sunshine and rainbows - the characters themselves are aware of who the other is and what they are cabable of. With Molly and Will one party is definitely left in the dark about the other. I'm of the firm belief that their relationships would have never started had Will not hidden an entire shade of his being. He has stated he prefers lies of omission. And when said omission is a caged monster, you can see how unfair it'd be to someone like Molly. While badass, she's ultimately a regular person, a woman who was most likely searching for happiness and stability after her first husband. Will was simply not it. He used her and Wally as a means to hide from himself and his feelings for Hannibal. If he really wanted to, he could have prepared a plan that allowed him to stay with them. Will is neither stupid, nor lacking in determination. But the fact is, he was not invested enough. He'd rather die WITH Hannibal than return home, which says a lot.
There's also the fact that Hannigram is better developed and tied to the story's themes, so I'm more invested in seeing where they could end up together, destructive aspects and all, rather than Will and Molly. Still, I can't buy into the concept of a happy marriage between them that some viewers talk about when it appears to be so surface level. That peace hinges on Will never discussing with Molly a ton of stuff that would have changed the entire trajectory of their relationship. The whole situation reminds me too much of a couple in real life, in which one person doesn't actually love the other and has somebody else on the mind. Their marriage is this essentially.
I'm pretty sure this view on their marriage and how Will-centric in tends to be ( in the sense that Molly being screwed over isn't really comsidered ) ties into the static perception people have regarding Will as a character from Season 1 onward. They want to see him happy and cheer that the bad guy is put away, far from him. But don't seem to realise how much of a menace and perpetrator Will has become in other characters' lives since then ( Hobbs, Randall, Chiyoh and her prisoner, Chilton, even Bedelia ). What do you think?
Oh, I agree completely, the relationship between Will and Molly feels very dishonest from Will’s side — and I think that’s the point. As Bryan said, we had to see the second half of S3 and Will with Molly in order to understand why he should go back to Hannibal. This life is simply not for him, not for the real version of him. Hannibal is right when he accuses Will of deliberately picking a “ready-made family.” Will showed his person suit to Molly and shared only official version of events of his life with her. She never knew the real him, and if she had, their marriage would have died before even starting because what woman would let a killer and a cannibal who wanted to run away with a monster near her and her child, who’s already been traumatized? Especially after a year or two of knowing this person?
I’ve had a huge number of conversations on this topic, and from my experience, viewers who claim that Will was perfectly happy with Molly cite one specific moment: them laughing together from Molly’s joke about “balls”. Bryan actually mentioned it too once to illustrate how great Molly is for Will, but the thing is, it’s just not what was shown. Because this pretty shallow and short moment of laughter instantly turns into a situation where Molly mentions Will’s “criminal mind” and Will shuts her off. He lies and he hangs up without returning her “I love you.” This says it all — he can enjoy himself on a superficial level in this marriage, but the moment something a bit more serious comes up, the illusion shatters. Perhaps Will told Molly some half-truths, like about being friends with Hannibal before the betrayal, but ultimately, we can see that she has no idea about Will’s life, his darkness and his struggles with it. She innocently encouraged him to go back, incorrectly thinking that Will is haunted by failing to save lives, and then she joked about his criminal mind, taking it lightly and not realizing how grave and sensitive this topic is for Will. She knows he can think like a killer because he’s gifted, but she doesn’t realize he himself is a killer.
I love how the show presents their relationship because it demonstrates how temporary and insufficient a dream-like normal life is for Will. All we know about him and Molly is that they are married. We don’t know how they met, what made them marry each other so quickly. They then have four short conversations throughout the show, none of which is entirely honest from Will’s side. Molly appeared from nowhere and disappeared into nowhere - she and Will were living a lie, which is why their relationship was presented this way.
Even from the beginning: from what was shown, Jack didn’t enter a sanctuary, he broke into a marriage as lifeless as the winter emptiness around Will when we see him again. As a contrast, in another Red Dragon adaptation, Jack comes when Will is genuinely happy with Molly and Walter. They are spending time together on the beach, they are laughing, they are having fun as a family, they are holding hands. This unity and happiness are absent in the show. Jack comes when Molly and Walter are away fishing, with Will choosing to stay behind even though fishing is his passion. It’s a deliberate choice and it says a lot. Will and Molly share a bed: they are married, so it would be strange not to - but they are fully clothed and sleep strictly on the opposite sides. Will is shown sneaking out to read a letter from Hannibal. They could have shown Molly sleeping on his chest, for example, something to make their bond warmer. Will isn’t a touchy-feely person, but he’s not resistant to touch either, and he could have made an effort for a woman he’s supposed to love.
He could have bothered to hug her or at least *touch* her at least once. Instead, when she hugs him from behind, he doesn’t even move to touch her back. When she nuzzles into him, he turns his head away, even though nuzzling back or kissing her cheek would have felt so much more natural. Even at the hospital, Will just looks at her and then sits in his chair. It’s deliberate - he never reached for her at all, even in this situation. When Molly wakes up, he risks touching one strand of her hair with the very tip of his finger (which is implied and still not shown!), and then he quickly takes his hand away. It’s a vivid contrast to him reaching out and almost groping Hannibal in TWOTL. He could definitely show more emotions to Walter - after losing Abigail, he had to be terrified of losing another child in his life. But instead, he just acts uncomfortable, not at all like a father would.
I think Will could never be truly happy or peaceful when he’s hiding who he is. Darkness is a large part of him, subduing it takes efforts. I’d say he was semi-content with this limbo state, but with how quickly he ran to Hannibal, I think he was getting bored, too. Hannibal also senses it, hence his question, “Don’t you crave change, Will?”
I also love Hugh’s and Mads’ commentary on this.
Hugh: You could say that during the second half [of season three] - I mean, obviously we’re jumping ahead here, but Will comes back to Hannibal. He’s now got this family, and Will, independently and pretty quickly, starts coming to the conclusion that it’s not sustainable for him to have that family. Like, he’s not the guy. He’s not the right person to be able to look after them, to live with them. It’s not compatible with who he really is. And you could argue that Hannibal is just driving him more quickly to come to that realization. So in that sense, it is kind of brutal, tough love. His love is saying, “Know thyself.”
Mads: As Hugh is saying, it’s unavoidable. It’s going to happen sooner or later. Might as well happen sooner, before he’s stuck.
And that’s not even mentioning the Dragon’s attack, the way Will stayed angry for three seconds before acting jealous of Hannibal giving attention to Francis, and how he set up a situation that put Molly and Walter at risk just to get a chance to stage Hannibal’s escape. His priorities are very clear. I do think he cared about them to an extent — he is responsive to people who show warmth to him, but this feeling was superficial. In the end, the only two things Will truly, genuinely cares about are Hannibal and his dogs. I’m not including Abigail here because he loved a dream, not the girl herself.
Will is a deeply selfish character, and I love him for it because I find him fascinating.

BnHA Chapter 315: I Didn’t Expect This to Blow Up
Previously on BnHA: Horikoshi was all “guess which plot that you thought was dead is actually not dead and is making a comeback!” and we were all “EVIL HPSC??” and he was all “girl you know it,” and that’s the story of how we got a sexy Lady Nagant flashback with lots of guns and murder. Flashback!Lady was all “gotta murder peeps to preserve the people’s trust,” but then a little while later she was like “actually wait that makes no sense,” and so she shot her evil boss and they sent her to jail. Back in the present, Deku was all “okay fair, the hero system might in fact be a little fucked up, but hear me out... have you considered not helping AFO take over the world so he can murder like a bazillion more innocent people??” The chapter ended with the not-all-there Overhaul finally revealing himself to Deku, and I honestly have no idea where this is gonna go.
Today on BnHA: In what is unfortunately the single worst plan ever concocted by anyone in BnHA, Nagant is all “I’m going to try and get this Deku kid to panic and freeze up by putting someone in mortal danger.” Deku is all, “[doesn’t panic and freeze up at the sight of someone in mortal danger].” Nagant is all “omg no way.” Deku, who is now all of a sudden being so OP that even I have to acknowledge that it’s OP lol, is all “[smashes Nagant’s gun arm to bits]”, which sucks but is also really cool, and which also apparently makes Nagant decide that she actually likes this kid after all. Deku is all “NAGANT I REALLY LIKE YOU AND THINK YOU’RE GREAT SO PLEASE JOIN UP WITH ME AND STOP BEING EVIL.” Nagant is all “aw shucks (✿ •͈ᴗ•͈) well okay then” and everyone is all “( ・◡・) ✰ ( ˆᴗˆ ) ( ᵘ ᵕ ᵘ ⁎)” and then Nagant FUCKING EXPLODES LIKE AN EGG IN THE MICROWAVE AND FALLS TO HER DEATH!!!! except not really because Hawks saves her??? In conclusion, (a) THE FUCK, and (b) AFO TURN ON YOUR LOCATION I JUST WANT TO TALK.
so I have to tell you guys something, which is that barely ten minutes after I made that “please don’t send me spoilers” post the other day, someone replied to the comments in a stunning fit of “tell me that you’re twelve without actually telling me you’re twelve” energy and posted what seemed to be the copy-pasted spoiler summary from reddit or twitter or whatever lol. so here is my good news/bad news rundown of all that
good news: I have very well-conditioned ABORT!! reflexes and have trained myself to immediately look away from the screen (usually in dramatic fashion) as soon as I realize that whatever I’m reading is a spoiler
bad news: unfortunately as I was subsequently deleting said comments, I accidentally read the very last one
good news??: said spoiler was so unbelievably, absurdly over-the-top that I’m almost positive this person was just trolling. like, there’s just no way lmao
bad news: but in the unlikely event that it is true I will absolutely lose my shit I swear to god
(ETA: “NAGANT DIES.” that was the spoiler I read lol. like, literally all I read from the person’s comments was “My Hero Academia Chapter 315 Title: “Beautiful Words.” Chapter starts with...” and then I noped out of there, and then of all the comments to read as I was deleting, it had to be that one lol. I seriously was just like “SURE, JAN.” all “just how gullible do you think I am” sob. but I was wrong. a troll, but an honest troll they remain.
but anyways like I’m pretty sure Nagant isn’t even actually dead lol, so in the end this whole little adventure doesn’t even have a point to it, but for me it was a journey!)
anyway, so there are apparently two versions of the chapter today?? no idea what the difference is, but I’m going to go with the Bean version, because it’s the one at the top and I don’t feel like making decisions today
huh, so Overhaul is actually more coherent than Horikoshi was letting on

look at him having a whole back and forth conversation with her. side note, how is he still this jacked when he’s been sitting in a cell doing absolutely nothing for the past six months
anyway so he says he’ll go with her on one condition. I wonder what that condition could possibly be. do you think it could be the thing he literally hasn’t shut up about ever since he reappeared lol
yep! and damn -- maybe this guy will surprise me after all

still would be nice if you also felt a bit sorry for the little girl you tortured and traumatized, but this is something at least. maybe Deku will yell at him for that other stuff lol
(ETA: also can’t help but wonder if he wants to make amends because he put him in a coma, or because his plan was a failure and ended up destroying the family. just hoping you’ve finally had that “hurting other people is bad” epiphany dude.)
anyways so now Nagant’s arm is transforming again, and this particular transformation happens to be the only truly unsexy thing that Nagant has done thus far so I’m just gonna skip right on ahead lol
aaaaand we’re back to the delirious ranting

buddy. just. read the fucking room, guy
wow she really is aiming at Overhaul, then. those theories were spot-on
damn she’s really out here all “it really fucks with kids’ heads when you kill people right in front of them and make them blame themselves” like yo

I’m picturing her saying all this in a very loud stage-whispery tone while making very significant eye contact with Deku lol
uh oh but wait

um. okay. who’s gonna tell her. Nagant I might have some bad news for you about the kid you’re trying to capture here. specifically about the way he tends to do the opposite of what you’re thinking that he’s about to do
holy shit

so it’s basically just “tap x repeatedly to charge up your attack” lol
and okay, so that’s cool and all, but is anyone else wincing at the thought of what that must be like on his knees. oh to be young
anyway, but so to the surprise of basically no one, Deku did not, in fact, freeze. I am very sorry, Nagant. he’s just like this
LMAO

someone wanna tell me how getting yoloed in the fucking ribs by this fucking slingshot kid moving at literal sniper bullet speed is in any way even remotely better than getting hit by the bullet itself lol
(ETA: this is 10x funnier now that we know the bullet wasn’t even gonna hit him lmao.)
anyway so now Nagant is having an extended “!?!?!?” reaction about how Deku just moved with no hesitation, and I’m starting to get an inkling of fear that the rest of this fight isn’t going to go very well for her and maybe that’s what all the “hoo boy” is about
oh my god Deku are you about to Gomu Gomu no Rocket yourself at her you insane little man

now Three is popping up again and he’s all “I see you’ve learned your lesson and are now only using three quirks at once instead of five” like with all this effusive praise about how great and badass Deku is and sob, okay, yeah. this chapter is basically one of those machines that shoots tennis balls at people, except instead of tennis balls it shoots hot piping discourse
OH MY GOD

YOOOOOOOOOO but also, NOOOOOOOOOOO
lol oh my god it’s literally two opposing reactions at once wtf. do I love this or hate this. like just for once can Horikoshi actually let a badass lady character win their fucking fight without getting their arm ripped off, BUT ALSO fucking look at that absurdly cool “SMASH” onomatopoeia though. it looks like it’s about to float right off the page holy shit that’s some seriously good art
anyway so is this really the end?? do I need to break out my ಠ_ಠ faces
lmao okay yeah I can definitely see how this would piss a lot of people off

he basically one-shotted her and she’s all “damn this kid is so amazing that I’m about to do a complete 180 turn on all of my previous angst” lmao. Horikoshi is really shounening it up today
on the plus side though, maybe this means there’s still a chance for her to join up with him after all? unless that spoiler was true lmao, then all hell is gonna break loose
YESSSSSSS

OH MY GOD AND HE SAYS THE BULLET WOULDN’T HAVE DONE MORE THAN GRAZE OVERHAUL ANYWAY, wow, I’m actually more relieved by that than I would have expected. I mean I would have forgiven her either way, but it means that there was still more hero in her than she was letting on
YES!!! FUCKING YES, THANK YOU

lol but I mean, it’s also like, “oh so today they get to have brain cells”, thank you so much lol. sometimes it’s really hard to tell which times we’re supposed to question these character decisions that seem dumb, and which times we’re just supposed to full on embrace them and switch off our critical thinking
but okay, so in this case it really was Nagant going easy on him on purpose, and not just her fucking up for no good reason even though she used to do this for a living and was the best in the game. and I know in this case it’s probably just Horikoshi giving us some consolation headpats to soften the blow of her losing so abruptly, but you know what, shit. I’ll take it
also you guys the light is coming back into Deku’s eyes again for just a moment here and I’m having feels about it?? the way it still comes back when he’s reaching out to save someone, and following his own hero path instead of the much darker and lonelier Christopher Nolan path that’s been laid out for him instead that he never wanted?? it’s both reassuring and also very sad
YESSSSSSSSSSS

DO IT LADY OMG PLEASE?? PLEASE COME BE HIS NEW IRRESPONSIBLE ADULT SUPERVISION YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO
AHHHHHHH SHE’S GONNA DO IT AHHHH

p.s. I am now absolutely scared shitless that that spoiler was actually true sob. swear to god, I will throw this manga into a fucking volcano. but we’re almost at the end of the chapter and this seems just WAY TOO GOOD to be true fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck f
UCK

NOPE NAH SEND IT BACK, NOPE, NUH UH, DIDN’T ORDER THIS. “GULLIBLE” OKAY FUCK YOU?? “COUNTERMEASURES” NOPE, DON’T NEED ‘EM, WE’RE ALL FINE HERE. WE’RE ACTUALLY GOOD SO YOU CAN JUST GO, OKAY. PLEASE
fuck, lol, I don’t wanna do it. I don’t wanna scroll down what have I ever done to deserve this oh my god
WHAT THE HONEY-ROASTED FUCK

WHERE THE FUCK IS THAT FUCKING VOLCANO IN ICELAND THAT I KEEP SEEING ALL THESE PICTURES OF. WHERE THE FUCK IS THAT SHIT. LET’S GO
ARE YOU SERIOUS RIGHT NOW

can someone please give AFO a really good, sharpish kick in the balls. just really let him have it. I’m so tired, what the fuck
-- ARE YOU KIDDING ME LOL WHAT

bro. I was literally going through my Excel folders to find the spreadsheet about female characters in BnHA that I made back when Midnight died. was gearing myself up for a wholeass rant. and honestly I might just let all of that continue simmering on low to keep it warm just in case lol, because to tell you the truth I have absolutely no idea what’s happening right now
my girl straight up does not have a face. she used to have a face. people usually need those, idk. like, even if she’s alive, her gorgeous eyebrows are definitely not making it out of this and I’m gonna throw a funeral just for them
how the fuck did AFO just blow her up?? how did he know what was going on?? and if he had a quirk that could explode people at will, why is this the first we’re hearing of it?? you’d think that might have come in handy at Kamino or Jakku, like what
(ETA: present!me, who’s had more than three hours of sleep and can now actually remember facts about the series, would like to remind past!me that AFO gave Nagant a quirk, and so this is probably just more Vestige shenanigans now on his part. that’s also probably why Air Walk suddenly stopped working out of nowhere. still doesn’t explain why he doesn’t go around blowing people up more often though but maybe he thinks it’s gauche.)
Hawks just straight up out of nowhere. just Mirioed his way straight into the chapter just in time to be too late sob. here I was looking forward to seeing your face when Deku showed up with his new best friend. can’t believe Horikoshi deprived us of that moment
on the plus side, WELCOME BACK, HAWKS’S FEATHERS. I have no doubt that in this chapter of Deku being an almighty threequirk-mastering god, and Nagant losing anticlimactically only to be immediately blown up because girl characters in BnHA can only be cool for one fight and one fight only, there are still some people who are focusing solely on the “how dare Hawks get his wings back when he is a MURDERER this is an outrage what about CONSEQUENCES” discourse, and to hell with all the other discourses lmao
anyway, so yeah. wow. and now it’s just occurring to me that maybe the real reason why Overhaul is there is so he can get a head start on that amend-making by actually doing a good thing for once in his life, and using his quirk to heal Nagant. assuming he can still do that
and so now Horikoshi has got me out here actually rooting for Overhaul. you know what, on that note I think I’m just gonna go ahead and call it a day sob

Around Your Neck
Warning: smut, unprotected sex/creampie, post!prison reid, fingering, oral both recieving, throatfucking, slapping, bruises idk??
Length: 4.8k
Authors note: you know that tiktok audio that goes “whats wrong with you?,” over and over again. thats how writing this fic made me feel. based loosely after a conversation me and my wife @pastanest had sdkjhjkef and that gifset of spencer with that gold chain on that has me so tight. so disrespectful...
Edit: heres the gifset!!!
Plot Summary: Prison changed Spencer. That damn chain around his neck made sure you remembered.
Spencer Reid was… different after prison. It was something about him when he left, like a part of him was always far away somewhere when you spoke to him. He was fractured it seemed like - even though he was saving lives everyday there always seemed to be something on his mind. He was still Spencer of course, still sweet-talking and soothing when he needed to be. He never lost that odd charm about him and after those first few months he grew back to be more comfortable in his own skin but there was just something there. Something on the back of his mind that he seemed to be handling alone.
You’d been with Spencer for a while before he went to jail, a few years and other traumatic events later - you had an idea of how Spencer dealt with pain and difficulty. He liked to let things sit and stir inside of him for a long time before he lets it show - then he gets snappy and mean for a bit after that till he sorta just breaks. In many ways, when something bad happened to Spencer you sorta just knew what things would be like for a bit, but no matter how many times he slipped you caught him. When he got shot and nearly died twice, you were there right next to him - making sure that he was going to be okay. That's just what you did, to say you were Spencers ride-or-die would be an understatement. You gave him whatever he needed, whether that be some tough love or being pampered for a few days straight.
Spencer knew that about you, and even before prison he had this affinity for you that always made sure you knew how much he adored you. He wanted you to know that he only ever had eyes for you and that he was beyond grateful for how patient you seemed and how loving you were to him. Spencer made sure he never stopped chasing you before he went to prsion. He bought you flowers, supported you when you switched careers, and generally made sure he returned the favor in loving you but he was always chasing you still. Part of it was out of disbelief that someone could love him like that, but the other part was out of insecurity. You always told him you were always his, but he never seemed to believe you.
Prison changed a lot of things for Spencer, but that thing about him chasing you was what changed most. Spencer was always possessive in his own right, but he wasn’t jealous necessarily. He just wanted to make sure you were okay and that no one was fucking with you or bothering you. It didn’t bother him before if you talked and flirted with Luke, or if some guy was hitting on you because you were normally so adamantly rejecting it. He wasn’t someone who was particularly upset about not having claimed you as his - before he didn’t really care.
For the longest time you didn’t really notice just how much Spencer had actually changed how he acted towards you - mostly because he was still really sweet to you. It wasn’t like he was treating you any worse, or necessarily any better. It was honest to God, just different, more.. something. You don’t wanna use the word aggressive because Spencer isn’t the aggressive type. Spencer was calculated, and he could be angry sometimes but not often. He didn’t have a shorter fuse - hell, you could argue that prison made him more patient since he was often just lying in wait.
The best way to describe it is probably just more confident, really. He was assertive about you being his and his tolerance for crude jokes that came your way was a lot lower. Most of the time, at least before, he’d let shit slide if it was too small. Nowadays though, if he even catches something bothering you he steps in - always finding the small of your back and pulling you closer to him like he was keeping you close to protect you. He doesn’t curse them out or get angry, just stares at them with a blank expression that's arguably more intimidating.
You were a flirt by nature, too. You were never trying to flirt with people, but you’re one for flattery and compliments so it sure can be read that way. You loved receiving the same energy so when you did your jokes and compliments would increase ten-fold. It doesn’t bother Spencer because he knows you’re just being silly but before, he didn’t mind if the other person was serious because he knew that you’d never continue like that. Now though, when someones dropping any lines your way he’ll tell them to leave you alone no question, unconcerned about any consequence or even if that person could beat Spencer's ass. Spencer wasn’t concerned about strength like he used to be - and when you asked him about why that was he simply shrugs.
“I’ll play dirty if it gets there,”
Those were all small details but there were so many of them that it was starting to pile up and draw you to interesting conclusions. Sex was also a clear example of change. The first time the two of you had sex when he came back from prison was relatively the same, but you could tell he was holding something back. For the longest time, you didn’t really know what until it was the heat of the moment and Spencer wrapped his hands around your throat and ask if he could choke you - something that you’d ask for previously that he was rather unsure about doing. It was the way Spencer's eyes looked into your eyes when he did it, the way his fingers curled almost carelessly around your delicate neck - so instinctively as if the whole endeavor was so natural. When he lets you go and kisses you - you’re more than into it but you can’t help but wonder where his desire came from. You didn’t really mind how Spencer got when he was like that but damn, you couldn’t say you saw it coming.
The more you thought about it, the more it became clear to you that Spencer has changed a whole lot more than you understood initially, but maybe the last straw was when you made a sorta silly joke about the necklace worn around his neck after prison. It was a thin gold chain, for the most part tucked underneath his clothes when he went to work. He said in many cultures gold is a symbol for blessing and spirituality and he wanted to keep that with him, and that a lot of other people in prison wore gold chains. You made some stupid joke that if he were gonna wear it all the time - he should at least have your name around his neck. You knew stuff like that wasn’t really Spencer thing so when you’d said it, even though it was pretty hot, you were mostly just joking.
It’d been a few weeks since then. Spencer had a case that needed his attention and you were at the bullpen with Penelope waiting for everyone's arrival. You were nearly bursting from anticipation, a busy case that made you particularly clingy and had you missing Spencer more than you can explain. There everyone was, walking through the doors when Spencer walks through and wraps you up in his arms. Spencer picks you up and spins you around for a few seconds before giving you a small smile. You just hug him again, noticing the cool metal on your skin when you do. You pull back before Spencer speaks and look down - his chains never had a pendant before
There it was. Your name, hangin around his neck like it was nothing. Spencer was sporting it with a more casual version of what he normally wears, which was basically just no tie. A white shirt and blazer, and your name around his neck. You try your very best to ignore the heartbeat in your jeans while your fingers went up carefully to touch it. Spencer gives a coy smile, watching the way your eyes look at it so hazy. Just like he wanted. He places his hand on top of yours, seeing your pretty eyes flick up to meet his. You can barely contain yourself - the chain around his neck always brought you to some interesting places but to see your name - your fucking name, around his neck so casually brought you somewhere rather interesting.
“Um - nice necklace,” you squeak out. Spencer laughs brightly, his arms circling around your waist as you bury your face in his chest instinctively . You can feel the way his laugh reverberates and you just whine in annoyance.
“I’m glad you liked it, might be a little awkward otherwise,” Spencer jokes. It was your turn to giggle, Spencer left terribly endeared by the sound.
“You ready to head home, doctor?,” you say softly. Spencer nods, taking your hand as you lead the way and feeling his heart burst out of his chest, grateful to have you on him always.
__
You guess that Spencer buying your name as a pendant on his chain was really what set you off in realizing just how possessive he was. He didn’t take it off around the house, walking around your shared apartment shirtless with it on at all times. He’d play with it constantly, fingers brushing the smooth metal while he was doing something a little mindless or that required his focused attention. It was driving you nuts, the image of Spencers chain hanging in your face was already one you returned to a lot but - now that your name was there it made the stakes of such a situation so much higher.
Spencers just sitting and reading the paper when you finally are fed up. He always liked reading the actual newspaper, claims there's nothing quite as good but you’re tired of… well, you’re not sure what you were tired of but you knew you needed his attention asap before you lost your marbles for good. You walk over to him, moving the newspaper carefully out of his hands and folding it before sitting across his lap and crossing your arms. Spencer laughs loudly, especially as you take his arms and wrap them around your waist. Spencer just gives you a quirked eyebrow, a questioning look. You shake your head, because you’re honestly kind of unsure for what you’re asking for - you just wanted something. Dick, maybe.
You give Spencer a look as you take his chain around your fingers again and play with it’s pendant. He already knows why you’re here, but he decides to let you figure it out. He knew before that you were the submissive type, but his response to that changed in prison. He carried that picture of you with him everyday, looked at it for hours sometimes so he could sleep - and it pissed him off when people would see it and talk about you. Spencer missed a lot of things outside of jail but you were number one - your love and affection of course, but there were other things too. Prison made Spencer particular about his possessions, that picture of you was one of the few things that was his and his alone. He didn’t let anyone go as far as touch that picture, so when he saw you again that possession just carried over. He didn’t really care, especially since it didn’t seem to bother you. Prison made Spencer realize how much he really cared for his possessions, books, chess boards, you - all things he already cared about but became a lot more particular after the fact.
Spencer just knows. When you sit on his lap, all he can picture is him out in the yard but instead of isolated and paranoid, he’s with you by his side giving him all the restraint in the world. He’d be damned if he let anyone take that from him. You give Spencer a look he can’t explain, there's a certain innocence written on your face that makes Spencer's chest hot. His hand sits between your bare thigh as you sit on his lap, and the second you look down on it, you seem to get the clue. Spencer grips your thigh, eyes following the way yours move to try and make sense of what's happening. Your eyes are fluttery, as your head twists to meet Spencers, the two of you nose to nose. Spencer just gives you a smile, before looking down at your lips then right back up to you. You blush.
“You’re close,” you say, not knowing what else to do. Spencer chuckles.
“Would you like me to move?,” Spencer asks politely. You shake your head.
“No,” you say stubbornly. Spencer licks his lips for a second before smiling again.
“Okay. Then, what would you like me to do?,” Spencer says, holding back a laugh. Your eyes fixate on his lips when he talks, and you scrunch your face up.
“Kiss me,” you mumble. Spencer grins ear to ear.
“Say please,” Spencer replies, leaning in as his lips brush onto yours. He pulls away before you can kiss and you sigh.
“Please,” you manage out meekly.
Spencer pushes air out of his nose before he does just that. His lips are smooth, stubble touching your smooth skin as your hand moves to one side of his face. Spencer smiles into the kiss, feeling the way you melt into him. The moments before things get heated is fast, Spencer's hands underneath your shirt as his tongue slides between your lips. He kisses you slowly, patiently but that’s not quite what you want. You give him a whine, but he shows the same attitude. You keep kissing like that for a while, moving yourself to straddling Spencer's lap before using your teeth to lightly tug on Spencer's bottom lip. He gives you a small groan and you return it with a noise of approval. Spencer pulls back to look at you, his eyes telling you to be careful but his body language betraying him. You can feel the tent in Spencer pants as you weigh yourself down on his lap.
“Don’t hold back,” you ask, hoping it’s the right thing. Spencer gives you a weary look.
“Are you sure?'' Spencer asks. You nod, eyes looking into his.
“Red for stop, yellow for slow down, and green for go,” you say repeating your safewords to him. Spencer gives you a kiss on the forehead, both for remembering your safeword but as an assurance. He’d never really been rough with you - he was a soft dom at heart and wouldn’t go as far as hurting you. You just give him a pleading look - you wanted him to be rough with you, bruise and mark you, just for a little while. The idea made your skin flush, but who was Spencer to deny you of such a request. Spencer nods softly, leading you to the bedroom.
Spencers the first to close the door, pushing you up against as he lifts one of your legs up and kisses you slowly - fingers pressing into your thighs as Spencers tongue toys with yours. He always kisses you like that, slowly but surely introducing as much of himself to you as possible - his erections pressed against you when he does. The sound that leaves your mouth is a cross between a whimper and a moan - a broken sound that makes Spencer a little more eager. He smiles when you make, giving you a look of surprise but you don’t have anything to say. Spencer smiles down at you.
“Go lay down for me,” Spencer requests. You just nod as you get comfortable on the bed - watching Spencer take off his grey sweatpants and boxers, the chain still around his neck. Your eyes follow his figure, landing on his erection before widening. Spencer just chuckles at you - signalling for you to take your shirt off which you do with no question. You watch his eyes as the rack themselves over your figure, panties forbidding the rest of you from being on display. Spencer walks towards the bed, pulling your legs over the edge as he kneels between them. You yelp at the sudden move, but quickly settle up again.
One thing is for certain, Spencer always wants to make you feel good first. It didn’t really matter what headspace he was in - whether or not he was super dominant like he was today or if he was super submissive like he was when he was stressed. His touch is careful, your legs over his shoulders pull him closer instinctively but he doesn’t seem to mind. He merely pushes your panties to the side before he eats you out, kissing your clit to be gentlemanly. His tongue is careful at first, experimental lickes before he lays his tongue flat - with a soft rhythm, slowly increasing his pace to your pleasure. He gets you close like that, pausing for a few seconds on moving before sucking softly on you, making you twitch your legs. Spencers careful about this part, his speed only testament to how much he can push you, the knot in your stomach carefully being undone as Spencer continues.
“Can I cum, please?,” your voice scrapes the surface as you ask. Spencer is busied with his mouth but he hums - feeling you unravel as your orgasm hits you with astonishing impact. Spencer feels the way you pulsate on his tongue, humming again so you feel that little vibration that sends your hands in Spencer's hair to pull you off. You’re trying to catch your breath as you finish, Spencer still adamantly eating you - making your body shiver with pleasure. He holds your hips down for a few minutes like that. You don’t really want to argue with him but you’re unsure how much you can handle as he makes you cum for the second time, a small wave of pleasure brushing against your spine as cum for the second time. When Spencer pulls away from you, orgasm covers his lips and manages to get onto his stubble. He gives you a light smile as he leans up to kiss you, hands holding your thighs as he does. You can taste yourself on his tongue.
“Do you think you can handle letting me fuck your throat?,Spencer asks. You give him a look of surprise, trying to remember if you still had any cough drops before nodding - more than eager to let him do that if that's what he wanted to do. You just nod, ready to get on your knees before Spencer stops you in your tracks.
“I wanted to do it while you were laying down, you know,” Spencer says, voice unsure. You’re surprised but you just shrug, laying down, your head back on the edge of the bed. It weird to see everything upside down like this, so you just shut your eyes and open your mouth up. Spencers cock twitches at the site of you laid back for him like this, pushing past your lips a lips a bit, feeling your tongue along his tip. You pat Spencers leg, letting him know you were comfortable to let him go further, feeling his length push past your throat. You let your throat relax, gripping your thumb as Spencer buries himself nearly fully in you. His fingers find the column of your neck, brushing the bulge in your throat which makes it hard for him to contain himself. Spencers fucks your throat slowly, carefully not to push you too hard even though you were more than ready for it. You steadied yourself, the other hand in your underwear rubbing your clit to the feeling Spencer fucking you like this.
“You’re so pretty with me down your throat like this,” Spencer comments. You moan around his length, letting him know he’s free to continue.
“Prison made me think of all the things I could be doing to you, fucking you like you were the only thing I thought about all day. Maybe because you were,” Spencer laughs when he speaks, his hands reaching down to toy with your nipples, his fingers carefully twisting them, relishing the way you writhe under his touch. You tighten your throat around Spencers length causing him to jerk into your throat - sorta how you planned for this to go anyway. Spencers expression changes as he watches you take all of him in, his hand lightly around your neck, maybe too turned on by how the air leaves your lungs. When you pull out, spit covers your face and chin - but you just give Spencer a thumbs up and a smile, not phased at all. Spencer didn’t think he could be anymore in love with a person, yet here he was.
Spencer helps you sit back up, sitting for a few moments to readjust to the world around you. Spencer cups your jaw, pulling your face to look at him - giving you the most adoring eyes like you didn’t just take his dick all the way down your throat, well that may be the reason why. Spencer leans down to kiss your forehead, hands around the base of your neck as he does.
“Good girl,” Spencers use of that phrase is spare, only using it when he really meant it. It fills you with a certain intensity you weren’t expecting, your throat already a little sore from the endeavor. You give Spencer a small hum of approval.
“Thank you, Sir,” The honorific makes Spencer's heart ache. Spencer was a soft dom, which mostly meant that in bed you called him by his name. Sir was a sometimes thing, like when he got rough on the occasion. Sir was earned, just liked good girl was.
“Get on your hands and knees for me, pretty girl,” Spencer asks. You do as you're told, arching your back completely for Spencer without questions. Spencer admires you, running your hands over the curves of your body, admiring the little wet spot that forms on your slit for him, cum running down your legs. Spencer wanted to fuck the shit out of you, wanted to see his cum spill out of you - as filthy as the thought was. You’d always talked about letting him go raw but Spencer was normally too cautious. You getting pregnant was much less of a consequence these days, like if anyone were to carry his baby into the world it’d be you and no one else.
If anyone got to fuck you like that, it needed to be him and no one else. That was one thing Spencer knew was so different. Spencer needed to fuck you like that, raw and shameless just like only he could. Spencers fingers are too curious for his own good, one hand around your waist to play with your clit, and the other posing two fingers inside of you - brushing up against your gspot with ease. You shudder under Spencers touch, getting fingered from the back like this wasn’t what you were expecting but you weren’t upset about it. Spencers voice is warm in your ear.
“You’re gonna have to cum one more time before I even think about fucking you,” Spencer warns. You just nod, chewing your lip as Spencer pads his fingers along you, curling them up for you to feel. He stretches you out comfortably like that, and you’re unable to really think clearly. His mouth works on your neck, biting hickies onto your throat as he does. The bruises are red and pulsating, the dark marks only bound to get darker and more visible as the days pass. Not that Spencer minded, though you did. It was a worry for later though, of course. You cum around Spencer's fingers again, unable to comprehend the level of exhaustion that seemed to come over. Still, you’d be damned if Spencer didn’t fuck you senseless. You tighten around Spencers fingers.
“Spencer, fuck - please, please,” the begging has no particulars. It’s never for anything, instead a mindless response to Spencer and his ability to turn you on this much, to the point it was all you thought about. You were exhausted but all you wanted was for him to cum inside you and make you feel so pliable. You always were, for him anyways.
“Sir - fuck me raw, please,” that last plea was a demand. Spencer groaned into your neck, nodding lightly, no response to your request. His fingers burned bruises into your waist, gripping on to you like he was gonna lose you if he didn’t. That feeling comes at you so quickly you can barely make sense of it, Spencers hands rhythmic in their ability as you convulse, cumming around Spencers calloused fingers and feeling every inch of them in you. You whine in disappointment when he pulls out. He just chuckles, taking his fingers and slipping them between your lips and down the back of your throat. You don’t choke, unsurprising to Spencer really. Saliva coats his fingers which he smears across your lips, just degrading enough for you to giggle.
“Lay on your back from me, I wanna see you,” Spencer doesn’t need to finish his sentence to say that he wants to see how his cum fills you up, such a pretty sight it doesn’t need any words for description.
You lay down, waiting for Spencer who doesn’t wait to get on top of you. That’s when you catch it again - his fucking chain. His name around your neck, hickies from you around his neck just like your name was. Spencer gets on top of you, chain hanging from around neck and all you can think is how fucking badly you needed this man inside of you. The way he had you, feeling this possessive over him made you fucking insane. You knew he’d always keep that chain on, like you were always hanging around his neck anyways but you needed to do more. You wanted to scratch his back up, steal his soul when you gave him head - everything, you wanted to do everything for that man. When he fucks you and you feel all 7inches, stretching you out - cumming inside you like he owned you because he did. So carelessly fucking you, making you cry out his name and now he had your name hanging around his neck. You’d be damned if another person even got near him.
“Say my name when you fuck me,” you request. Spencer groans, slowly doing just as he promised, hitting your cervix before bringing his hips up - ready to fuck the daylights out of you with no question. Your eyes fixated on the jewelry that adorned him as he pounded into you, your voice totally lost to you as you feel his cock pulsate inside of you. He was relentless, the sound of his hips making contact with your backside filling the room with such a filthy sound. It was filthy the way Spencer fucked you. He leans down to you, his chain resting on your chest as he hands move to the side of your face. He wants to hit you, call you his pretty slut before he fills you with his cum. You just flutter your lashes and before he can ask.
“Green,”
Spencer's hands hit the side of your face roughly, the stinging sensation rather pleasing in all reality. Spencer's voice is low, an octave lower and hoarse as he pounds you out like it was nothing.
“You’re such a good slut for me, aren’t you baby? Taking all of me in, like it’s easy. What were you doing while I was gone? Bet you were getting ready for me do this to you, weren’t you. Did any of those toys you used feel as good as me,” Spencers words are callous, and degrading but you loved every second of it. You shake your head.
“Nothing was as good as you,” your response was forced out. Spencer laughs, voice tinged with something dark.
“Nothing,” Spencer pushes his hips as far as he can, making you cry out as he reached the edge “Nothing ever will be,” Spencer finished
You tighten yourself around Spencer, looping your legs around his waist to make sure all of him shoots inside you. He finishes with a loud groan, fucking the cum into you a last few times before pulling out. You’re more turned on than you know what to do with so you loop your fingers in Spencer's chain and kiss him, wet and sloppy as he finishes. He presses his forehead to yours as he kisses you, eyes locking with yours as the both you stare at eachother in euphoric post sex glow. Spencer breaks out into a giggle as he comes down, falling into you when he pulls out and you do the same.
“All this because of a chain?,Spencer asks. You just nod, placing a kiss in Spencers messy hair before sighing.
“If you ever date anyone else, I’ll be the person in prison,” you say stubbornly. Spencer just laughs a little bit more, the two of you lying comfortably as Spencer places kisses over some of the hickies he left.
“I wouldn’t dream of it, love,”

Ordinary Yanderes
Yanderes come in all shapes and sizes, but what exactly causes someone to become a yandere? Often it's a tragic backstory, such as abusive parents or in other cases, they are supernatural beings that were born with obsession or born to be obsessed. But what exactly can cause an average person to become a yandere? Today we'll be talking about ordinary yanderes, those with perfectly average lives that become obsessed with a particular person. This analysis idea came from my friend who I played the Mazm: Phantom of the Opera, and also someone who is going to make a yandere vn, so thank you, Cherry for the analysis recommendation!
One of the most common ways that a regular person can turn into a yandere is after they have some sort of trauma. This is actually something that can cause a lot of different changes to anyone since the trauma is something that is hard to process and go through. I actually had a conversation with my friend Coyoda about this topic while helping Cherry with her vn idea, but the idea is that trauma can often cause a lot of different ways of coping, and the example given was that many survivors of the 9/11 events often become flat earthers sort of as a way to cope. This is actually how a lot of stalkers in real life come to be as well, with someone showing some sort of kindness after they have experienced a traumatic event. This is also a pretty common way that yanderes in media are created, even if before the event they had a pretty regular life, trauma can really cause someone to change completely. This can often be a death of a family member or even a pet or could be something like being forced to be homeless or losing a job. In general, though, a yandere with this sort of origin experiences trauma and then directly is helped by someone (they usually perceive this as kindness, even if it's just a basic gesture), which they then become infatuated and obsessed with.
This is often the origin story of a lot of protective yanderes as well, especially if it involves the MC being in danger. A good example of this is the series Kimi ni koisuru satsujinki (or Killer in Love in English), where the main character, Suzuki, must constantly protect Kokona from the stalkers that are trying to kill her. In this case, Suzuki is a more or less normal person, if not a bit depressed about his life, and it completely gets turned upside-down when he meets Kokona. The general idea for these kinds of protective yanderes is that they are placed in a situation where they have to protect their s/o, but often have to do immoral actions to do so. This usually means that they have good intentions but the wrong way of handling things, however, often they are placed in a situation where they have little to no choice in the manner. A lot of times, these will be life and death situations, but it can also be situations that might cause their life to be worse (for instance, something that can cause their reputation to be ruined or for them to be suddenly bankrupt), though in all of these cases they do something that can be traumatizing or at the least something that leaves an impact on them. The intention/reason has to be related to the s/o, whether it be directly or indirectly, though there can also be other stakes as well. Another example is Ramaru from Your Turn to Die, specifically in the route where Kanna dies instead of Sou. In this version, Ramaru becomes afraid of dying, even as a doll, and while paired up with Sarah, suggests killing off the others to save both of their skins. Sarah basically accepts this idea, manipulating Ranmaru into killing the others, specifically either Alice or Reiko before getting caught. In this scenario because of the dangerous game, they're in, Ramaru becomes so scared that he's willing to kill off the other players just to get him and Sarah to victory, and it's very likely that if he weren't caught, he would have tried to kill off the others. While Ramaru was never necessarily a "normal" person, the change he had was very drastic due to his fear of death within the game, and his condition for winning essentially forced him to protect Sarah for his own safety, even if it meant killing off others. In essence, for this kind of yandere to go from normal to overly protective, they must have some motive to protect the MC from danger, whether fatal or not.
Similarly, instead of the MC being in danger, the MC could become the yandere's "savior". There are a couple ways of doing this. One of the more common ways is to have something bad happen to the yandere that the MC is able to fix or alleviate for them. It can be something simple as again, showing kindness, or something much more like giving the yandere a place to stay. In this stage, the yandere is usually not in the best state of mind as they've often gone through something that is difficult or traumatizing. When the MC "saves" them, the yandere will become endured towards them and will often end up worshipping them as a result. Pulling someone out of a difficult situation might make the yandere become obsessive or view them as someone who is always in the right, even when they're not. They may attempt to drive others away or hurt anyone that might hurt their savior. Another way to do this is through a sort of addiction process. Say for instance, a person has an extreme urge that they can't satisfy, someone who loves to be violent, or someone who is really masochistic, but because of society and the fact that its considered "strange" or "creepy" they don't have a very good outlet for it. This can be something that they've always had but were able to repress or something that can be developed suddenly. If someone, such as the MC were able to provide a proper outlet for it, they would have the power to take it away, forcing the yandere to be come addicted to it, especially if the MC were to give and then suddenly take it away from them. So in the example with the violent yandere, the MC might have a way for them to fight as much as they want, but takes it away from them to control them and forces them back into their original life. However, if the addiction is strong enough, its likely that the yandere will come back for more. While this doesn't necessarily mean that they will become a yandere (especially if someone else is able to help them through their problems more), I think that it is a way to make a more reluctant yandere, one that can't hold back from something that they've been holding onto for their lives. Another variant would be an MC who is able to coax out the bad parts of a yandere (again, something like violence or obsession) and make it seem "okay" for them to do these actions, only for when the world to turn on them, the MC to comfort them and isolate them, making the yandere believe that they're the only one who can save them. This can be done intentionally or unintentionally by the MC in question, since there are ways of making the MC unintentionally bring out specific sides of the yandere.
Another way is to have the yandere learn about love in the "wrong" way. This is probably actually something common in the real world, as often media has romanticized the idea of love and many people often have the wrong conception of what love is. This is something that might be useful for an "ordinary" yandere, as it means that they can have a more or less normal life, but their definition of love is skewed due to other influences. For instance, this yandere might believe that the definition of love is their "soulmate" someone who can never part from them and can never be torn apart. Assuming that this is something that they believe in strongly, its very likely that if this yandere were to ever experience a breakup, they would not react to it well, probably desperately trying to fix what they might have done wrong, or even outright refusing to break up with the person, believing that they are mistaken. This can also be the start of a delusional yandere, especially if their lover is someone that is less than perfect, and the yandere can't fathom why the two soulmates would be able to separate. Another example might be the idea that the yandere believes that lovers must care for each other above everything else. When in a relationship, the yandere is very likely to be the kind of person who will literally do everything to place their lovers relationship first and expect the MC to do the same. It's likely that even if the MC tries their hardest to love the yandere, it may never end up reaching up to the yandere's level of "love", and may even get angry when they feel as if they are putting in more than their lover. This can branch off into a lot of things, such as the MC attempting to work harder for their MC's love to the point of hurting themselves, or even getting angry and threatening the love out of the MC. Generally these kinds of things are something that the yandere builds up because of a specific belief, and they have to be the kind of character who refuses to let go of what their idea of love is and never really learns what love is really about.
The final idea I have is that the yandere was able to learn specific actions from someone close to them. This sort of overlaps with the Parent Yandere and the Generational Yandere, but the idea is that the yandere actions are learned from someone. The more common ones are how the parents act that eventually is transferred down to the children or in the case of generational yanderes, something that is actually within the bloodline. In terms of family, this can also be attached to uncles or aunties who have more of an obsessive streak, especially if they are close to the yandere and teach them about love (for instance, a yandere uncle might tell the yandere that lovers need to be possessive over each other, something that might carry over in the yandere's love life). It can also be someone that isn't directly related to the yandere, such as a friend. If the friend for instance exhibits some sort of yandere traits (for instance, taking pictures of their loved one when they're not looking) the yandere might believe that its a normal action and might end up taking it to the extreme when they have a lover or crush. This might be used to more comedic effect as the yandere takes something that's normally sweet and pulls it out of proportion, or similarly scary depending on reactions and what they do exactly. For this, its often their misconception on how love works and how they viewed it that might end up causing the yandere to become a yandere.
Anyways, there are some ideas on how to make a normal person into a yandere, or at least have someone with a relatively normal life eventually fall into yandereness.

The Unkiss
TW: discussion of sexual assault
The purpose of this post is to explore how and why the Unkiss came to be, and speculate (poorly) on what purpose it may serve in the future. Read under the cut (thanks @esther-dot )
So, I’m going to tell everyone right away that I’m not a very big fan of the pre-existing theories surrounding the Unkiss. Specifically, I tend to disagree with the “how”. This is partly because I think all the explanations offered are too Freudian (*shudder*) and partly because I’ve had a similar instance myself so I tend to project (sue me).
THE HOW
First, let’s look at the pre-existing theories:
The Unkiss is actually a sexual fantasy that Sansa has confused with the real events that happened (exactly what Freud would say. Creepy fuck.)
Sansa invented the Unkiss to romanticize an otherwise traumatic event so she could cope with it better.
Is there any other theory I’m missing? These are the ones I know.
I’m going to jump straight to the second theory. The issue (for me) in this theory is that it sort of assumes that Sansa herself would consider that kiss “romantic” or that it would somehow help her cope the BoB night.
He yanked her closer, and for a moment she thought he meant to kiss her. He was too strong to fight. She closed her eyes, wanting it to be over, but nothing happened. - Sansa VII ACOK
This is the moment. She is expecting a kiss, but wanting it to be over. It’s very clear that the kiss would have been non-con. More importantly, it looks like Sansa herself would consider the kiss non-con.
Why on earth would Sansa invent a kiss she didn’t want in the first place to make coping with an already traumatic event easier?
He kissed me and threatened to kill me, and made me sing him a song. - Sansa II ASOS
This is the first time we are introduced to the Unkiss, and it shows that Sansa’s memory of that night is perfectly intact. The Unkiss is an addition. It isn’t replacing any other, more traumatic memory (like the threat to her life).
Now this is what I think happened:
Her emotions were running high that night, and her mind muddled up real events with the memory of that mounting (practically tangible) terror.
Yeah, it’s that simple. You know how you get really angry in a fight and then later you can’t recall the exact the words? Memory is unreliable. There are plenty of studies to show the varied effects trauma has on memory. There are plenty of studies to show how easily memory can distort. There doesn’t need to be a great, complex reason for Sansa to misremember a traumatic event. Also remember that Sansa may not be entirely sober for this encounter, since Cersei did make her chug that wine before.
Being stuck in a situation where you’re terrified and anticipating some sort of assault any second? Having a single moment where the emotions peak, where you’re sure the assault is going to happen right that moment? Misremembering if the assault did or didn’t happen later? Yup. Been there, done that. I still don’t remember what happened, and it’s been years. I sure as fuck wasn’t romanticizing shit, so it never occurred to me to think that Sansa might be. So when I heard the theories I went back to her chapters and honestly, I don’t think she is either. Not yet.
Then this happened:
She could still remember how it felt, when his cruel mouth pressed down on her own. He had come to Sansa in the darkness as green fire filled the sky. He took a song and a kiss, and left me nothing but a bloody cloak. - Alayne II AFFC
Now this is Sansa romanticizing the Unkiss. She romanticizes the kiss she remembers. That does not mean she invented the kiss to romanticize the BoB, it only means she remembers a non-con kiss from a traumatic night and chose to romanticize it to cope. See the difference?
The kiss isn’t a way for her to romanticize her trauma to cope, she romanticizes the kiss that was a result of her trauma- to cope.
I won’t be so sure of this theory though, because (no offense) but GRRM does seem like the kind of guy who would read Freud and incorporate his ideas in his story. There’s already a shit load of incest and let’s admit it, Sansa canonically has daddy issues. How far or in-depth did GRRM think about the “how” of the Unkiss? We don’t know.
THE WHY
Well, this one has been explained by GRRM himself:
You will see, in A STORM OF SWORDS and later volumes, that Sansa remembers the Hound kissing her the night he came to her bedroom... but if you look at the scene, he never does. That will eventually mean something, but just now it's a subtle touch, something most of the readers may not even pick up on. - GRRM
He also said:
File this one under "unreliable narrator" and feel free to ponder its meaning...- GRRM
So, it’s safe to say that the Unkiss is basically being used to establish that Sansa has an unreliable memory. Of course, other characters probably have unreliable memory too (for example: Arya misremembering the name of Joffrey’s sword) but this is still most likely about Sansa.
Sansa has always been considered an unreliable narrator by the GA anyway, since so much of her narration in the first book was at odds with the narration of Ned and Arya, who were both fan favourites at the time. This should probably indicate to the readers that the other characters are unreliable narrators as well, but it doesn’t. People carry on reading simply assuming that only Sansa’s POV is unreliable, or at least the most unreliable. So using Sansa’s POV to lay the groundwork for memory issues in someone else’s POV is...not gonna work.
This doesn’t necessarily prove that the pay-off of the Unkiss is going to come from Sansa’s POV only, but it makes it seem likely. So I’m going to restrict myself to looking at the possibilities of misremembering stuff from Sansa’s POV.
One more thing we need to look at before we start looking at future possibilities:
"It's not the same," Sansa said. "The Hound is Joffrey's sworn shield. Your butcher's boy attacked the prince." - Sansa III AGOT
On the surface, this looks like another memory edit. The situation is remarkably similar; it was a traumatic event for Sansa, she was not entirely sober when it happened, and now she is misremembering what happened. We know that Mycah did not attack Joffrey, Joffrey attacked Mycah. However, it’s not quite the same. For one, we don’t actually know if Sansa believes that, or if she’s just trying to be contrary to Arya.
Also-
"Sansa, come here." Ned had heard her version of the story the night Arya had vanished. He knew the truth. "Tell us what happened." - Eddard III AGOT
Sansa had told Ned what happened. But then she said-
She blinked at her sister, then at the young prince. "I don't know," she said tearfully, looking as though she wanted to bolt. "I don't remember. Everything happened so fast, I didn't see …"- Eddard III AGOT
So.......is she lying or did her memory actually get fuzzy afterwards? What exactly did she tell Ned? Considering that he’s the one who asks her to “testify”, I’d assume she told things as they really happened (as in Joffrey attacked Mycah). Did her memory of the events slowly fade...and then reverse (as in Mycah attacked Joffrey)? Or is she just taking the neutral stance here, and later the opposing stance (Joffrey’s side) in her fight with Arya? We don’t know.
PURPOSE IT MAY SERVE GOING FORWARD
First, let’s assume that the Trident accident really does count as a memory edit. This would mean that Sansa has edited her memory twice now, which makes it very likely that a third memory edit is coming. There are two directions this can go-
The third memory edit has already happened pre-canon (so technically it would be the first edit)
The third memory edit is going to happen sometime in the next two books.
Warning: this is where I get back on my Jonsa bullshit. Turn back now if you don’t wanna watch me make everything about Jonsa.
Pre-canon Jonsa crush
If the first option is true, and Sansa has already edited her memory once that we don’t yet know about, then a pre-canon crush/moment between her and Jon is...a pretty strong possibility.
I’ll admit, I’m very very skeptical of the pre-canon crush, simply because I think there isn’t enough evidence or foreshadowing for it. On the other hand, the groundwork has already been laid, if GRRM were to go in this direction..it would be believable. Shocking, but believable.
We have numerous mentions of kissing games in the godswoods. We have a pre-canon conversation between Sansa and Jon about How To Hit On Ladies. And much more. The possibility is there.
Sansa having a crush on Jon and being so traumatized she replaced Jon with Waymar Royce?? Sansa getting tipsy on watered down wine and giving Jon a blue rose-
There are other possibilities though, for example, a fight between Sansa and her father and/or Arya that she’s not remembering correctly. It would explain her daddy issues (even more) and work to create conflict between her and Arya (why though). But I don’t THINK there’s any evidence for that..? I don’t know I’m just throwing out ideas.
Moving on to the second option- a third memory edit to come
These memory edits are not likely to be nearly as innocent.
One possibility I’ve heard about is Sansa forgetting her identity and sinking into Alayne. No. Very Unlikely. Sansa’s Stark identity appears to be going strong even in the TWOW preview chapter.
Second possibility- Sansa memory edits Lysa’s death.
She was mad and dangerous. She murdered her own lord husband, and would have murdered me if Petyr had not come along to save me.- Alayne I AFFC
It’s...possible? But it looks like she does remember what Lysa said and how she died. She’s just suppressing/dismissing the parts that implicate Littlefinger, which is not the same as a memory edit, where the memory is changed somehow.
More possibilities- Littlefinger will do something and that will lead to a memory edit. She’ll flee from the Vale and run into Ramsay (I dearly hope not) and bam trauma -> memory edit. The possibilities are pretty much endless.
Now let’s assume that the incident on the Trident was not a memory edit. This means she’s only had one memory edit yet....in which case the pay-off is probably something kiss-related, or it is something she remembers, but which didn’t really happen. A pre-canon kiss, or some serious Freudian shit that I’ve been trying desperately to avoid, a Sansa-Sandor faceoff....yea I’m not actually good at speculation.

it’s late, I’m bored, time for Hunger Games Simulator Kuroshit Edition Episode 2
Day 1 Cornucopia highlights
Sebastian’s just like “aight time to clean”
it’s gonna take more than that to help you now, bud
they might be too pure for this
rip grandpa
Will also said “fuck it, cleaning time”
Agni brings out the right hand of god for bread, Randall gets the broken nose he’s deserved for a while now (he did win the last Hunger Games, to everyone’s disappointment)
O!Ciel hoping to hibernate it out
TERRIBLE NEWS EVERYONE, OUR GIRL IS DEAD ALREADY
Phipps, Macmillan, Finny, Lizzie, Soma, Abberline, Undertaker, Edward, Bard, Ronald, Othello, Mey-Rin, and Grey all got away from the cornucopia safely. Some of them got weapons, but the game doesn’t record what weapons people have and what they don’t, so whatever people picked up doesn’t really matter
Day 1 highlights
HARCOURT CAME TO FUCKIN PLAY YA’LL
gdi Randall, we just lost three of four girls in one fell swoop, I hope you bleed out from your broken nose and die
Ronald says we aren’t allowed to have nice things
Other highlights:
Day 1 Arena Event: Borders Close In
Edward punishes Agni for his bread crimes
Hunger Games simulator is actually just a rare pairs simulator
pretty upset that Harcourt died so soon, it’s always kind of funny when he gets the chance to become a cold-blooded killer
and there goes our last lady (though now that I think about it, I should probably sub in Lao and Ran-Mao)
Day 1 and we’ve already lost Lizzie, Mey-Rin, Bard, Tanaka, Soma, Agni, Sieglinde, Grell, Othello, Phipps, Abberline, Randall, and Harcourt
This leaves us with only eleven survivors: O!Ciel, R!Ciel, Sebastian, Edward, Finny, Undertaker, Wolfram, William, Ronald, Grey, and Macmillan
Night 1 highlights
the boys are like “better make the best of a bad situation by creating the next Kuromyu”
Macmillan had the same idea, but he’s alone, and no one’s favorite character is Macmillan
alternate title: R!Ciel and Undertaker traumatize Edward and Finny so badly that they can’t sleep
O!Ciel’s sitting on his food cache like a fat dragon guarding its hoard of treasure
Wolfram is unable to sleep, but Grey builds himself an entire camp and presumably gets plenty of beauty rest
Day 2 highlights
Macmillan refuses to kill the shorter, two-eyed version of his friend. Meanwhile, R!Ciel is already dead
Ciel’s almost too in character as he waits for the enemies to come to him while he does whatever the hell he wants
they’re just blond boys doin what blond boys do
other highlights:
Wow, no deaths today, so it looks like it’s camping o’clock
Night 2 highlights
black ops Macmillan says never trust anyone, not even the side character who exists to set up exposition
why do I feel like Wolfram will regret this
well, at least we know he didn’t burn down the manor
R!Ciel: I’ve reclaimed the manor, my title, and my girlfriend. What are you gonna do about it? O!Ciel:
other highlights:
Alas, poor Will
Day 3 highlights
R!Ciel is really out here like “I’m incapable of dying, just try to kill me and you’ll see” but no one believes him
the food king discovers he cannot be sustained on food alone
Grey does the gentlemanly thing
Wolfram says “my death scythe now”
Other highlights:
and so day 3 comes to an end with this final roster
we’re fortunate enough this time to have things wrapping up with both twins and Sebastian still alive, which keeps things interesting. However, Macmillan is also here, and the randomizer could turn him into an absolutely feral killing machine. Nothing is sacred in Hunger Games Simulator
Night 3 highlights
looks like someone couldn’t find that water source
another man cleared of arson
fast, hungry boy and strong, hungry boy bond over being hungry
still not entirely certain Macmillan knows he’s helping the wrong twin
the only wounds he's gotten are from the thorns while picking berries.......
fair enough my man
The Feast highlights
Somehow the frail, decrepit perpetual ten-year-old managed to defeat the powerful demon and grim reaper armed with a lawn mower. Did I mention nothing is sacred
Day 4 highlights
Macmillan and Finny both spared R!Ciel, but as soon as Macmillan asks for death, Finny’s like “you got it champ”
meanwhile the brothers are squabbling but what else is new
imagine if we got to a point in the manga where the roster actually looked like this 3wijaor;jiwa
Night 4 highlights
so I guess somehow Grey has cemented himself as Enemy #1 and the boys put aside their differences so they could have a slumber party with the remaining blond boys
Day 5 highlights
Older blond boy kills younger blond boy in a truly devastating example of blond boy crime. Meanwhile, O!Ciel add medical supplies to his growing collection of goodies, and Grey says “ooga booga” at a child
Night 5 highlights
it’s like the start of the Blue Cult arc all over again
Day 6 highlights
Did R!Ciel just die really anticlimactically?? Also, O!Ciel becomes a perfect combination of McGruff the crime dog and Smokey the Bear and says no to fires
Night 6 highlights
Hunger Games simulator returns to being a rare pairs simulator. Somehow O!Ciel has acquired an infection, and R!Ciel is definitely dead
Day 7 highlights
O!Ciel, Grey, and Wolfram take a page from the Public School Arc’s notes and don’t do anything interesting for a while
Night 7 highlights
Wolfram gets medical supplies but refuses to use them on his new boyfriend. O!Ciel's canon energy is stifling
Day 8 highlights
O!Ciel receives a weapon he won’t use. Grey tries to make something happen. Wolfram goes spelunking
Night 8 highlights
O!Ciel’s canon energy continues to rise to dangerous levels, but Seb’s too dead to hear him make orders. Wolfram dies, and if this were the manga, you know our boy wouldn’t stand a chance in hell against Grey
Day 9 highlights
IT’S THE HUNGER GAMES SIMULATOR AND NOTHING IS SACRED
god look at that shit-eating grin. Ciel managed to make it through the whole thing without killing anybody and he knows his ass would be grass if Grey hadn’t gone kablooey. unbelievable. our grand champion, everyone
