Little Update
Summary: Lando gives his fans a little update about live
Words: 785
Warnings: None just pure fluff
A/N
It's my first time writing for Lando I hope you like it <3
Tumblr media
Three weeks ago, you and Lando welcomed a little baby boy to the world. The both of you were pretty open about the pregnancy, posting pictures and stories all the time.
The fans loved watching your baby bump grow. And the interactions between Lando and the baby you two shared over your socials.
But since the baby was born, you two went MIA for a while and haven't posted a thing. Everybody started to speculate that the baby was born, but nobody had seen the baby yet.
You and Lando needed some time for yourselves to adjust to the new situation, but after some time, you slowly got into a routine.
Now, the two of you wanted to let the world know about your little bundle of joy. Lando wanted to do something special, that would resemble you and him.
Something that made you and Lando who you are, are your infamous streams. So Lando wanted to stream with your baby and introduce him to the world. You were a bit sceptical at first, not wanting to parade around with your baby in public so much.
But Lando assured you that everything would be alright and that he would be extra careful if it would get too much for little baby Henry.
So now Lando was sitting in his gaming chair with his son sound asleep next to him in his crib.
You wanted to stay with them and watch, but you had a hard time staying awake and chose to take a nap, still recovering from labour.
Lando took a deep breath and started the stream but had the camera still turned off. In the next few minutes, thousands of people joined his stream.
Seeing the numbers rise made Lando's heart beat faster, and he started overthinking his idea again. Nevertheless, he turned on his microphone and greeted his viewers.
"Hey, guys! … Guys, calm down. I know the camera's turned off. Be patient."
His heart melted as he read the messages his fans sent him, asking how he was doing and if you were doing okay. After laughing at a few messages, his heart rate slowed down and he started to feel more relaxed.
"So guys, I know me and Y/N haven't been online for some time. In our defence, we had a good reason."
Taking a deep breath to collect himself, he took the sleeping baby into his arms and turned on the camera.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to introduce you to Henry Norris."
He grabbed Henry's little hand with his finger and waved at the camera. The chat went completely feral at that, congratulating the two of them on your little family.
Henry slowly woke up after he felt his dad's presence. Looking up at Lando with his big blue eyes, which he got from you, he cuddled himself deeper into Lando's arms.
Realising that his son had woken up, he cooed at him and kissed his little forehead to settle him again.
"Chat, look at him, he's so cute. Baby, you wanna say hello?"
Hearing Lando use his baby voice and cuddle with his son made the chat go crazy. Messages of love and adoration flooded the chat.
"How is Y/N doing?" Lando read out loud.
"Y/N's doing quite good. She is currently sleeping. I try to help her as much as I can. She needs to recover fast because I'm kind of lost without her."
Chuckling at the end of his sentence, he read a few more questions until he heard the door to his office open and close.
"Aww, chat, look who decided to join us!"
You waved at the camera as you took your place behind Lando, kissing his messy curls.
"The chat kept asking for you," Lando mumbled into your neck as he nuzzled himself into you.
"Aww, really? Hi chat!"
You greet the chat and cuddle yourself next to Lando. The two of you kept answering questions until you felt Henry squirm in Lando's arms.
"Chat, we're going to end the stream now. Little muppet's gonna have his dinner now."
Taking Henry from Lando's arms, you head out, getting ready to feed him. Lando comes right after you, talking to the chat for a bit.
The sight that greets him in the living room, is a sight he could never get sick of.
The love of his life, with his son in her arms, feeding him in their own little home.

Out of Position
Hi. So, I'm not really sure I like this but hey-ho. I'm trying to write my masters dissertation so fics may be few and far between loll but I wanted to write something. Anyway, hope you enjoy.
Lucy Bronze x reader
Description: R has to play out of position for Barça
Word Count: 1.5k
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The season had been … tough, to say the least.
The start of the season was great, you were playing your favourite 6 or 8 positions. You were happy there – you were racking up assists, you had your name on score sheets more regularly. Things were really looking good for you. You were in the Starting XI regularly, slowly increasing the minutes to full matches every week. Your national team coaches had noticed your efforts to, soon earning that number 8 shirt at international level. Things were looking really, really good.
And then Mapi got injured. That was a blow to the team, no doubt. Her infectious energy was sorely missed during trainings, her technical prowess and defensive knowhow that were so integral to the team was difficult to replicate. But everyone was managing incredibly well. Slowly but surely, you were being played further away from where you were comfortable. And then Alexia was out again too. Another massive knock. Not just for the team, seeing the Captain out of commission was hard on everyone, but for you in particular. You were slowly being played further back on the pitch than you were entirely comfortable with. You weren’t a defender. You did your part, when necessary, but you weren’t a defender. You were never fully happy making those harsh tackles and committing essential fouls. Your main form of defence came from interceptions – your speed was something to be noted by all commentators. You were always the first onto a wayward ball. It was something you prided yourself on. It was something the whole team prided themselves on, none-so more than Lucy.
You didn’t know how it happened really, but by the away El Clásico, your picture was being displayed on screen in the no. 5 position. Who would have thought you would end up playing against Real Madrid as a centre-back? Especially when considering you started the season as an attacking midfield and borderline striker?
“I can’t do this.” You were full on panicking in the changing rooms. Your hands were gripping the bench so tightly your knuckles were turning white; your wide frantic eyes flittered nervously around the room; your skin was cold and clammy, your breathing erratic. You were on the verge of a panic attack.
“Sí, puedes, chica.” Patri soothed, running her hand in wide comforting circles along the length of your back. You had been fine during training, and most of the warmup but you had seen Moller Hansen give you, what you interpreted to be, a menacing glare, and something had snapped in you. “Amiga, you need to breathe” Patri reminded you, exaggerating her own breathing to try and prompt yours. It wasn’t working. Marta and Irene were with you, both looking on with some concern. “Ves a buscar la Lucy.” Patri ordered one of them, not taking her eyes off you. You had moved one hand from the bench to your thigh, your nails pressing harshly into the muscles, dragging unforgiving lines up and down.
Not 30 seconds after the door swung shut behind Marta, a very concerned Lucy appeared by your side, worry etched on her face.
“Can’t … do it,” you struggled to get the words out. Lucy’s heart shattered at your words. She had seen the hours you had put in, the number of dates you had rain checked to stay late with the defensive coaches, the frequent mornings when she had woken up, alone with your side of the bed cold with a note on your pillow telling her that coffee was in the machine, she just needed to press start and that you’d see her at training. If she didn’t know where you were, she would be concerned you were cheating on her. But no, you were in the gym at the crack of dawn, strengthening your muscles and pushing yourself to go beyond your previous limits. She was exhausted just looking at the work you were doing. But it wasn’t in vain. You looked so natural in the back line; anyone that didn’t know you would think you were comfortable. But no one saw these moments and sheer and raw terror that coursed through your veins moments before you stepped out of the changing rooms.
“You can, pretty girl. I promise you; you can do it.” Lucy said, gently crushing you to her chest. She was sad to admit that this was a common occurrence.
“Scared,” you croaked out. “let the team down.”
“No, my love, you will never let us down. I promise. You can never, ever let anyone down.” She cooed, her fingers dipping under your shirt to run her nails over your bare back. She pulled back after a few moments, waiting until your breathing evened out a little bit – her comforting smell washing over you and soothing your body more than any words could do. She cupped your face, gently running her thumb across your cheek. “I love you, so, so much. There are 10 other girls on that pitch, all of them believe in you. You wouldn’t be out there if the club didn’t think you could do this.” She said her words with such conviction. You took a deep breath and nodded – not believing her words, but the noise outside the changing room was growing louder, signalling that both teams were ready to go. You were still incredibly nervous, but you did have a job to do after all. You both left the changing room hand-in-hand, taking your customary places at the back of the line.
“Look at me, pretty girl.” She whispered in your ear as she caught you staring off into the distance. You turned to look at her, a slightly guilty look on your face as your bite your lip harshly. “I love you,” she said emphatically.
“I love you,” you said softly back, not as nervous as you were before, but definitely not good.
It was a tough match. Real Madrid had really stepped up their game since the last time you were out. It was a 1 – 1 all draw that was growing more precarious every minute. You had just 10 minutes left of the match and both sides were determined to break the stalemate.
Madrid were on the attack, having been able to pick out weaknesses in Barça’s defence. Lucy had drifted too far from her position, letting Carmona utilise the space by making a speedy break for it. You were the furthest back in your team’s line up. Your muscles were aching, your face was red with effort, yet you had to win this ball back. You couldn’t let Cata take on Carmona and Caicedo all by herself. You ran. Hell, you practically flew down that flank, pushing yourself harder and faster than you ideally wanted to.
You knew exactly what Olga was going to do before she did it. Maybe it was your experience up front? Maybe it was all the hours you had spent reviewing footage of various players you would face in the league? But you abandoned your chase on Carmona, changing your momentum to catch up to Caicedo just at the right time. Cata had drifted to the right in anticipation of Olga’s strike, but you knew she wouldn’t attempt the shot – not when Caicedo was sitting wide open with a goalkeeper-less net in front of her. You threw your body into the header – it was easily the harshest one you had given all season – possibly your whole career. Your technique was perfect though as you caught only the ball, using your momentum to bounce the ball away from the goal before bouncing painfully on the ground. You quickly rushed to your feet, watching Cata take advantage of a very confused Caicedo and a disappointed Carmona to chase the ball and boot it out into the stands.
There was a moment of quiet – at least it was quiet for you – before the world came back into focus. Your heartbeat was in your ears, your chest rising and falling dramatically as you sucked in precious oxygen. Cata was the first to get her hands to you. She shook your shoulders almost violently, your head wobbled comically at the action.
“Tu nena preciosa,” she shouted, kisses raining down on your forehead. You felt head pats and light taps on your back as you made your way back into your position.
Finally, the full whistle went. Barça had won El Clásico yet again (although it was tougher than anyone cared to admit)
“You …” Lucy said as her warm arms wrapped you in a hug. “That was the best defending I have ever seen.” She smiled, clearly wanted to say and do more.
“I learned it from you,” you whispered as you squeezed back. “The flying header. A Lucy Bronze special,” you teased.
“And you said you couldn’t defend.” She scoffed. “I’m so proud of you.” She said, pressing kisses into your sweaty hairline. You blushed profusely but smiled, nonetheless. That was all you really wanted, to make Lucy proud. “I think this calls for a treat, don’t you?” She whispered seductively into your ear as she dragged you into the changing rooms, a sly smirk dancing on her lips.
Hope you enjoyed reading <3<3<3<3

I’LL PICK YOU UP ON THE WAY HOME
Tumblr media
Summary, Jealous ex-boyfriend, Harry picks you up from a party after a last choice call was made from you.
Warnings, Jealous Harry?
This is so many words and not much dialogue. Enjoy the first of many!!
Harry was an ex you hadn’t spoken to in almost two years.
He was someone you had loved very much at the time, he was just a little bit too protective over you at the time, which is not what you had wanted as a 21 year old girl who’s friends loved a party.
You had never ridded his contact of your phone, it felt strange since he had been the first number to go in it after you had gotten it with him. Plus, he had never done anything wrong and you felt slightly bad for ending things the way you did.
You hadn’t been together that long at the time, you had told yourself hundreds of times, trying to rid the guilt you had whenever one of your girlfriends would tell you how miserable he was.
It was terrible that one of your girlfriends was dating his best friend, and you were a main source of topic for their entertainment.
You had thought about calling him as soon as your date had pulled up to the house, you could hear the music booming atleast 4 streets away and the place looked crammed with 17 year olds, a weird place for a 25 year old to take you on a first date.
He had led you inside the house, letting you follow his heels, greeting almost everyone that was in his path.
Your first red flag was a girl coming up to your date, who was unfortunately named Chad, you’d heard it all from your girlfriends already, and him hugging her with his hands a bit too close to somewhere they shouldn’t be.
This had made you pull your phone out, scroll down to the very bottom of your contacts and send a quick message to someone who may not even answer you, you’d been so lucky he hadn’t blocked you already and you were so grateful.
You sent a quick “hey” and hoped the recipient didn’t hate you as much as you hated yourself for texting him.
About an hour later, the party felt a bit dull compared to when you had arrived, everyone feeling lulled on the couch from everything they had drank, smoked and consumed in many other ways.
Including your date.
You had never been happier to feel your phone ringing in your back pocket and feel the excitement yet dread when your screen read “Harry Styles”
“Hello” you said sounding a little ashamed, making your way to sit on the front porch away from the booming music and the yelling of party goers who were still feeling their high.
“Hey” he replied sounding a little too groggy for you liking, like he’d woken and immediately called you “Why’d you text me? Thought you wanted nothing to do with me”
You felt your heart pang a little at this, but you could feel the hurt in his voice also “I’m at a party with a bunch of high schoolers. I need an escape”
“Gonna need more than that to get me going Y/N” he’d never sounded so irritated to you, but you also understood. The first time you’d texted him in almost two years was for an excuse to leave a party.
“Please come get me, i’ve basically been ditched and none of the girls know i’m here” You sighed feeling so ashamed you were doing this”
Harry ended the call. You waited, hoping he was still the sweet boy you had met 5 years ago.
10 minutes later, Harry’s car pulled up outside of the house. You jumped to your feet, jogged over to the car and placed yourself in his passenger seat
“Thank you so much Harry” you looked at him, your eyes pleading for his to meet yours.
He hummed in acknowledgment.
You sat in silence for 5 minutes while Harry drove in the direction opposite of your apartment, He came to a stop when he came to a quieter road with houses all using dimmed lights. He turned the car off and placed his hands in his lap.
“What are we-”
“Why have you done this to me Y/N? You know i’m still so utterly in love with you. So you text me at 11pm a shitty message saying ‘hey’”
“In my defence you’re the one who called me, you could’ve ignored my message and blocked me, you can’t blame me for your lack of self control”
You heard harry chuckle quietly to himself, that’s when you realised you’d said something that maybe you shouldn’t have.
“What are you even doing at a party full of children, you’re 23 Y/N” Harry finally looked at your face, your red cheeks prominent and wasted makeup.
His heart broke knowing after he dropped you home, you were gone again and there was nothing he could do about it.
“I was supposed to be on a first date, but instead he drove us to a high schoolers party. Basically touched up a girl right infront of my face, then got pissed and probably even high while letting me fend for myself when these are people he knows”
Harry slightly laughs to himself, but tires to cover it up by slapping his hand over his mouth. “You sure know how to pick ‘em”
“Picked you. You’re alright” You remarked back and Harry’s head quickly snapped back up to you and slightly glared at you “Sorry, that was really mean”
“I really fucking hate when you go on dates, y’know. Makes me so cross knowing ‘yer going out with all these shit guys when i’m right infront of you”
It’s like he was on his knees begging, pleading for you to love him. Tearing his heart out of his chest ready to give to you.
“You’ve always been such a jealous prick” You smirked at him and he couldn’t help his lips curling up into a smile.
“Hard not to be, look at you. You’re insane and i had my chance and fucked it with you, Cause i was scared to lose something i wanted forever”
You sighed and reached over to place your hand on top of his, he flinched away slightly. You curled your fingers around his hand and held it tightly.
“I love you” You admitted shamefully “It never went anywhere and i think i may just be slightly ashamed that i ended something so good just for what? To get drunk and dance around at a party full of strangers. When i had you waiting for me with open arms no matter the time i came back”
Harry shifted in his seat and moved towards the centre console of his car, you kicked your shoes off and sat cross legged on his passenger seat. Turning towards him, being able to see his face fully.
“You infuriate me, you know that don’t you” He says moving closer, close enough you could feel his breath of your face.
Swearing you could heart his heart beating out of his chest.
“Can you please” You thought for a second, were you making the right decision? Telling him you wanted him all over again, when you feared you may be slightly high from all the fumes in that house party.
Harry hummed gently “What would you like, Angel? Anything for you. I swear” His eyes flicked down towards your lips but quickly returned to your eyes.
“Kiss me” you practically begged him.
His lips crashed onto yours, his hands finding your jaw and cupping your cheeks while you sat in, what felt like an isolated area.
Kissing a man that you thought was just madly possessive over you, instead he just wanted the world for you, and you were the world to him.

SWEET LIKE SUGAR | (05)
summary; azriel is away on a mission, and you get an unexpected visitor. when he returns, you also get an unexpected surprise.
word count; 5988
notes; fun fact!! I got confused about which part I was on because I actually forgot all about the events of this part and started writing for part six before realising!! also the way this is months late... my bad, y’all.
Tumblr media
Slumping a little further in the plush seat, your eyes scanned across the page before you for the fourth time. Finally, you’d settled on a book, after procrastinating it all morning. Then, you’d put it off with the excuse of cooking breakfast and eating, making a cup of tea… and then another.
The house felt too big, too quiet, too light without shadows crawling in every corner.
Azriel had been gone since yesterday morning, your first overnight alone without him as he did Cauldron knew what, Cauldron knows where, out in the world. He’d left early yesterday morning while you had still been asleep, waking you with a hand shaking your shoulder gently before the sun had even risen. Dressed in those same dark leathers, strapped head-to-toe with weapons, he’d mumbled about some sudden work from Rhys, and that explanation, along with a delicate kiss on your forehead, had been all you’d gotten.
It had half felt like some kind of odd dream, until you’d woken up, and the house had been far too still without his presence.
He was due back tonight, and you were holding onto that, attempting to focus back on your book. Three hours. Only forty pages in.
You’d hardly made it two more pages, before there were footsteps on the creaky porch, your heart rate shooting through the roof, and a knock. A knock. Azriel wouldn't knock on his own front door. Matter of fact, Azriel would have likely just winnowed right to the door, not walked up the porch.
On light steps, hoping whoever was on the other side couldn't hear you, you peeked up through the hole in the door, noting Elain standing on the other side. You barely knew her, recognising her only from the first dinner you’d shared with Azriel’s family, heart leaping into your throat at the sight of her.
Clicking the door open after only a second or two of hesitation, she offered a beaming smile when your eyes met.
“Hello, Elain.”
“You remember my name!” Her smile somehow only stretched wider, and it was like the sun itself seemed to get brighter as she did. You wanted to scoff. Did it just do that, or was Lucien out there somewhere, glowing every time she smiled?
“Uh… Azriel isn’t here.”
“I know.” She waved a hand, as though that was supposed to be obvious in some way, following it up with a giggle. You wracked your brain, stumbling over every piece of information Azriel had given you on them all over the last couple of weeks. Seer. Elain was a seer. Had she seen Azriel leave and chosen this moment to approach you? “I’m here to see you.”
Apparently so. “Why?”
“I was thinking we could go for a walk in the public gardens together.”
“Why?” The word spilt out again, and she laughed, cocking her head to the side. “I’m, sorry, I don’t— I don’t mean to sound so rude. This situation is just unexpected, that’s all.”
“I know. I would have come sooner, but I was waiting for Azriel to be gone because he’s been playing defence about who gets to see you and when. He growled at Rhysand last week for asking how things were going.” Your stomach flipped at that, flopping in on itself and you rubbed a hand over your ribs slowly, hoping to steady the beating of your heart. “I’m not here for Rhysand, just to be clear. I’m not here for anyone, not even Az. I’m here for me, because I’d like to get to know you.”
“You want to get to know me?”
“Of course. You’re going to be around for a while—”
“I am?” She merely hummed, brows raising a little as humour shone in those doe-eyes, and your cheeks heated. “Seer, right. Of course. Do you want to come in for lunch or something, then?”
“I was thinking we could go for a picnic.” Nudging one delicately slippered foot out from under the hem of her dress, she nudged a picnic basket at her feet with her toes, and you shifted nervously from foot to foot. “It’s a nice day, and the Velaris Gardens are just beautiful. I volunteer sometimes, and I must say, the flowers this year are breathtaking.”
“Alright,” She was like a puppy, someone you just couldn't say no to when she stared at you with those big brown eyes, only seeming to light up more when you finally agreed. Leaving her standing on the porch for no more than a few minutes, you marked the page in your book, swapped out your loungewear for a summer dress and some sandals, and grabbed your keys.
She had been right, the two of you were barely more than a few steps down the sidewalks before the golden rays of the sun truly began to soak into your skin, warming you. It was a lovely day. Hopefully, the sun was shining on Azriel too, wherever he was.
The streets of Velaris were crowded as the pair of you ventured closer to the busier parts of the city, your workplace was packed full, the tables outside almost overflowing, and one of the waitresses you’d come to know waved as you passed by, flustered and carrying a tray of drinks.
Children were playing in the streets, darting from one side to another. Adults were wandering, lovers arm in arms, and friends gossiping. Here you were, wandering alongside Elain, who was humming a tune gently to herself under her breath. Only once you had entered the gardens, the kind old man at the front gate greeting Elain with a smile and a hug, did she speak up once again.
Her tune came to an end as the two of you were walking down the main pathway, weeping willows curtaining on either side, birds chirping overhead and fluttering between branches in the trees.
“I'm happy Azriel has you, you know.”
“You might be the only one.” Your words were bitter, harsh, and you wanted to bite them back in, still not entirely sure where you stood with Elain or to what extent you could trust her, but she only laughed again. “Apologies, that was…”
“Don’t worry.” That casual hand wave again, the metal bracelets on her wrist clinking as she did. One held a sun, another with a moon, a third gold band with an orange gem, and a fourth with a metal tag on a leather band, an engraving too small to make out. “Although, it’s not true. Nesta talks very fondly of you, and while Feyre might not speak up as often, she does not approve of the way Rhysand treats you.”
“Nesta is great. I shouldn’t have said that. And of course, I was out of turn to imply anything at all about the High Lord and Lady. I do—”
“Please, none of those formalities.” She stopped suddenly at the end of the pathway, aiming to turn neither left nor right, but instead stepping out onto the large field before you both, wildflowers cropping up, wandering across the soft ground and leaving you to trail through the grass behind her. “Rhysand can be a stubborn arse when he chooses to be, and Cassian is merely being bull-headed. Mor could be a swaying hand if she chose to, but she’s actively staying out of it, to let things play out on their own. Amren is… well, Amren.”
She had managed to coax a laugh from you, despite your wary mood, and she seemed to stand a little taller at the triumph. Finally finding a spot she liked and placing the basket down, Elain opened it up to pull out a blanket, flapping it out into the light breeze and laying it on the ground slowly. She sat on it, patting the space beside her for you to sit on, and opening the basket only when you had.
“I brought several sandwiches, because I wasn’t sure which you’d enjoy.” She began to unstack each labelled and wrapped meal portion, laying them out around you both until the blanket was covered in food and treats, a wine glass in your hand as Elain filled it with bubbling grape juice. “I try not to drink as much these days.”
It seemed the two of you had moved on from whatever conversation you’d been having, and no matter how much you wanted to circle back around to it, it felt rude to do so when she was clearly leading the chat. She was rubbing a hand over her stomach with contemplation, and you swirled the bubbly drink in your glass. “Are you… are you trying for a baby?”
Her hair glinted in the sun as she tipped her head back, eyes closed and smiling at the sky. “We’re thinking about it. Nothing concrete yet, but, I know Lucien desires children. I do too. We aren’t putting any kind of timeframes on anything, but we’re getting into some good habits and lifestyle changes now.”
“I wish you both the best of luck,”
She only hummed, again, a contemplative sound that seemed so wrapped up in mysterious and knowledge that it made your skin itch. To distract yourself, you took a sip of your drink, eyes scanning over the food options before you as she sighed and pulled herself back from whatever thoughts she had lost herself in. “My happiness with my mate now is so much due to Azriel.”
It was like a ball, bouncing back and forth between the walls, getting faster and faster as she whipped from the topic of Azriel to anything else, like she couldn't decide between acknowledging the elephant in the room or ignoring it.
“I’m happy he has you.”
“So you’ve said.” You smirk, settling on a sandwich at last and unwrapping it.
“There was a while when I thought I might be his happy ending, and he might be mine.” Your chewing slowed, and your focus fixed on her. You weren’t sure why she was saying these things, revealing things about his past or her own, whether it was some kind of game or not. She seemed to read all of this on your face, sitting up more fully to face you, legs crossing before her. “He never fought for me the same way he fights for you, though. Like he can’t help himself. What we had was hidden away and sneaking around in the dark. It was wrong for us both, I see that in hindsight, but with you, he doesn’t hide you. It’s like he wants the whole world to know you’re at his side.”
The food was like trying to swallow a mouthful of cottonwool, choking it down dry and wincing. “I don’t think what we have is the same. What you had must’ve been… well, like a real relationship. You do understand what me and Az have is more like an agreement, right?”
“Are all relationships not just agreements to be together, monogamously?”
You sipped at your drink, buying time to find a reply as she tucked into her own food, surely knowing she’d won this round. “Relationships are different.”
“In what way?”
“In every way!” You said, and she still only managed to look mildly amused, waiting for you to go on. “Relationships shouldn’t start the way ours did, for the intent of mutual benefit and gain. They’re supposed to be about passion and feelings and connection.”
“And do you not have passion, or feelings, for Azriel? Is there no connection?”
“What we have is complicated.” You didn’t know how to define it at all, everything that was shifting and changing so thoroughly was enough to make your head spin, and her mumble only confirmed that she knew she had the upper hand here. “How did Azriel help you to find Lucien if you were… together?”
“Oh, no, we were never together. We snuck around at night and shared heated looks across the dining room table. I wanted to choose my own path for once, not the one everyone was telling me I should be on. The one that led to Lucien. And Azriel, well, he just wanted someone. I wasn’t the right someone, I was just there.” That didn’t answer your question, not at all, but it seemed that if you were going to get the reply you wanted, it was in return for listening to the whole story. “We had stolen moments in dark corners, and Rhysand warned us off one another, put a stop to what likely would have ended in tragedy.”
“Seems like the High Lord is fond of telling Azriel who he can and cannot be with.”
“He had a sister once, you know.” The words struck cold, and you stiffened. Of course, you knew. Everyone in Prythian knew. Had heard of the tragedy before the first war, when the Lord of Night had lost his wife and daughter, leaving only the Prince who would soon take the throne. “She fell in love with someone who she shouldn’t have, someone who betrayed her in the end,”
“Should you be telling me this?”
“—and it broke him for so long. I had no idea about any of this until Feyre told me. He watched his sister get her heart broken before she lost her life, and watched his mate fall for Tamlin and get hurt. He watched Mor hide such an important part of herself and get hurt for centuries. He even watched Lucien pine for me while I was too blind to see him. He has watched love break and harm over the years, watched people abuse those feelings and use them for their own gain. He knows that need for touch more than anyone, and knows the price companionship can cost.”
“Elain,” The food was beginning to taste like ash, this was becoming more of a petition than a chat. “I understand that. I know he’s suffered too, I know he’s felt pain, and I’m sorry for that. But that doesn’t excuse him for his cruelty. It doesn’t excuse him for stopping Azriel from finding happiness. He cannot control everyone around him, no matter whether his intentions are good or not. Other people’s happiness is not his responsibility, and not his right. What, only mates are allowed to be together? Do you know how rare it is to find your mate? Azriel has waited five hundred years, he may never find his mate, but does that mean he should never be allowed to know happiness because Rhysand decrees it?”
She stared at you, lips pursed for a long moment, considering all that you had said. And then, instead of getting angry, or yelling, or defending them further, she smiled. She nodded her head and something passed over her face that you couldn't possibly decipher. “I’m glad to hear you say that.”
“Really?”
“Yes. Azriel would have fought for me, if I had asked him to. I’m sure I could have put up a fuss about it, but when he was told to stop, he did. That rejection…”
“Led you to Lucien?”
“Gods, no. It made me so angry. Azriel just rolled over and showed his belly because Rhysand snarled. I was mad, beyond words!” Your laughter broke free, surprising you both, until you were laughing together amongst the flowers. “He would barely look at me, wouldn't talk to me at all if not for polite dinner conversation. I’d gone from someone he’d feel up in dark corners to acting like I had a disease!”
“That’s awful!”
“I know! So, I wanted out. I was so stifled. I managed to persuade Rhysand to send me to the Human Lands for a while, to track down some information. Except, of course, I couldn't go alone. I needed an escort, and who better than the Emissary to the Human Lands?”
“This was Lucien?”
“Mhm.” She rolled her eyes, slipping away into her memories, a smile forming on her face. “Gods, he drove me insane. He was there all the time when I’d just been pulled from the Cauldron, like a lost puppy. So full of adoration and love. I was expecting that, but that’s not the Lucien who showed up. The one who showed up was so… nonchalant. Like the bond between us didn’t exist, we were friends, more like mere partners on a task. I even made a drunken move on him one night in a gross tavern far from The Wall, and he turned me down! Put me to bed and left a glass of water on the nightstand for me. Acted like it never happened in the morning.”
“Oh, Gods…” Your snicker bought you a mock glare from the flowery female beside you.
“I was even angrier, then. It was like nobody wanted me! So, when I returned, I gave Azriel a piece of my mind. And he let me yell at him for twenty minutes. And then awkwardly held me while I cried for another twenty.”
“Does this story have a happy ending? Well, I guess I know it does,” You offered her stomach a pointed look, “But when do we get there?”
“Fine, fine,” She rolled her own eyes now, “To keep it short, Azriel then offered to help me with Lucien. Managed to trick Lucien into going on our first date, a blind-date set-up, and wouldn't let him leave when he tried to. He then continued to help me sneak around with Lucien behind everybody’s backs, until we were ready to come out with it.”
“When was that?”
“Two weeks before we got married.” You fell to your back, laughter like light spilling from you at that, and she continued to share the details of everyone’s reactions through giggles of her own. “I’d seen all their responses, and I wanted to avoid them as long as possible! That was the last time I ignored my visions to try and put them off. What I see will happen, it's only a matter of time. I can’t avoid it.”
“That must suck for surprise parties and gifts.”
“Maybe, but it was pretty good to see you coming.” She smiled, laying herself down beside you and staring up at the sky overhead. “We will be good friends, you and I. I’ve seen that too.”
Tumblr media
You were preparing dinner when you finally heard Azriel arrive. The scuff of his boots on the porch, the rustle of his wings as he entered the house, and then—
Then the slam of the front door. So loud and violent that the house shook a little, trembling the trinkets in the hall that sat on the side unit. You tensed, hearing his loud huff of frustration. Shadows whipped and whirled through the house, a few even making it as far as you were in the kitchen, and you followed them, peeping around the threshold before they were all snapped back in a hurry to their owner.
You saw his retreating back, stomping up the stairs of the house, tense lines and rigid muscles, disappearing in a dark cloud from sight. Another slam made you jump, one of the upstairs doors closing with a bang.
Silence filled the house once again, far heavier and more tense than it previously had been, and you worried your lower lip between your teeth.
It didn't feel like you were welcome, like perhaps this was a moment you shouldn't intrude on. But, was this not part of the reason that Azriel had brought you here in the first place? To comfort him, and be his support?
Minutes ticked by as you contemplated the matter, before deciding that at least checking in on him couldn't hurt. If he wanted alone time, he’d say that, and you’d happily give it to him. The idea of leaving him alone in his suffering created a phantom pain in your chest, spurring you up the stairs and on a search for him.
He wasn’t hard to find, darkness flicking around the doorway of the office, idle shadows striking like dark lightning bolts in the air as you opened the door, only to find Azriel hunched over his desk, wings tense behind his body.
“Hi, Az. It’s good to have you home.”
He only murmured, a vague noise, not even lifting his head from his work as you stood in the doorway. You paced a little further inside, standing by his desk, hoping to catch a glance of those pretty caramel eyes, but he kept his head down. His pen never stopped moving across the paper, his shadows never stopped their stormy swirling.
“I’m going to start making dinner soon, if you want to come down?” He didn’t reply, just a grunt, and you gave up, despite the worry filling you from head to toe. “Alright, well, you know where to find me.”
With that, you left, a pulse of power following you from the room within as soon as you clicked the door shut, back pressed to the wood on the other side. With a couple of deep breaths, you steadied yourself. It was only a matter of time before something came up, everything had been going too smoothly, too perfectly to last. Azriel was bound to snap under all that pressure at some point, and if this was that snap, you could handle it.
Setting a chicken off to roast only took a couple of minutes, basted and seasoned and into the oven, enough of a distraction to pull your thoughts away from the warrior upstairs. It was as you were chopping vegetables that your mind wandered back, the mind-numbing task of slicing peppers and carrots made it easy for your thoughts to trail back to Azriel.
Still, he had not emerged. Not for food, or water, or even some space from that office.
Setting the table didn’t help to distract you either, laying down plates and cutlery and glasses, choosing a bottle of wine and setting it out to air, even going so far as to set down some candles, searching for matches to light them. The house was all but vibrating with power not, steady thumps that occasionally jostled the cutlery on the table with powerful bursts.
Whatever had happened today had Azriel so riled up that his power was all but leaking out, siphons doing little to control the feelings welling inside him now. You’d never known the true strength of his power. Of course, you’d heard of the High Lord’s brothers, the spymaster and the warlord, the three champions of a lethal death-match among young soldiers, who’d come out bonded stronger than ever, with power to match.
Never, though, did you expect to feel the power like this. Feel his emotions ricocheting off of every wall, bouncing through the foundations of the house. Suddenly, it dawned on you just how mighty the ranks of the Night Court truly were, a chill settling into your bones at the thought.
One bad mod, one temper tantrum, and the building could simply crumble to dust. Street lamps would flicker, and animals would scatter. Too many thoughts, too much and all of it became overwhelming as the house continued to tremble to the steady pattern of a heartbeat.
Blowing out the candles as the flames flickered precariously once again, you put them away, not daring to risk them tipping over and creating a far worse problem. You knew the scars on Azriel’s hands, he’d told you the story behind them on one of the many nights the two of you had lay in bed, wrapped in one another’s arms, seeking comfort.
Or perhaps, it had been during stolen moments in the café, when Azriel would come to visit you, sitting and doing his work at one of the tables in the back. He’d take a break only when you’d bring him a fresh pot of tea and a pastry, sit across his lap and talk in hushed whispers during the quieter parts of your shifts before you had to get back to work.
It could even have been one of your late-night walks, or early-morning strolls, while the streets of Velaris were quiet and mist-kissed. Your hands clasped together tightly, his wing shielding around you as you walked together, talking of everything and anything that came to mind.
He’d told you quiet stories of his past, of his present, of his hopes for the future. All about little baby Nyx, Nesta and her journey to finding the Valkyries, what it had been like growing up in the camps, or all the best little villages and towns he’d visited on his worldly travels.
Your heart had been doing crazy things, lately. Crazy, stupid things, like skipping a beat and speeding up and bursting with adoration for a man so new to your life. It did crazy things, like encourage you back up the stairs an hour later, to ignore the tremble in your hands or the wobble in your step, heart calling out to him.
You’d tried to ignore the urge. To sit and read your book, until you’d read the same line over and over while not absorbing a single word, and giving up with a frustrated huff. You re-basted the chicken, and added the vegetables to cook, and even set off some potatoes to boil but all the while, as your body worked, your mind and heart lay with him.
This time, you knocked as you entered, knuckles a soft rap on the door before you pushed it open. Magic thrummed through the air, calling you closer and pushing you away, and you found Azriel, still in the same uncomfortable position, working at his desk. His shoulders were locked and rigid, his head hung, hair messy from constant tangling, and you lifted a hand, brushing it slowly through his hair.
“Azriel…”
He barely even acknowledged you, nothing more than a grunt tossed in your direction as you stood by his side, and a sigh broke free from you. His lips were turned down in a frown, dragging all of his pretty features into misery too, and you hated to see this side of him. Hooking your fingers under his chin, his writing came to a stop as you forced his head to turn, to look up at you. His eyes were dull, a spark of irritation and anger bursting through them as recognition and consciousness flashed back into his lifeless form.
“Azriel.”
This time, a growl tore free, that frown becoming a snarl as he pulled back, gaze narrowing a little. “I’m fucking working. What do you want?”
You froze, staring at him, taking in the exhaustion under his eyes, the pain in his stance, the spinning thoughts you could practically see surrounding him, so much so it must be dizzying and painful. Dropping your hand back to your side, he only returned to work, not sparing you another thought as he chased to catch up with the ones already running him ragged in his head.
Silently walking away, you left his door open, hurrying away from the scene and back to the kitchen. Taking the kettle in trembling hands and filling it up, you set that to boil too, a mug from the cupboard clacking as you set it down on the counter, throwing open the doors to the tea cupboard soon after.
Your nervous fingers skimmed across the labels, searching the front of each one, and it was as you were holding two, undecided on which to choose— perhaps just brew them together?— that the air in the room shifted, and a pair of strong arms wrapped tightly around your waist, tugging you back into a solid chest.
“I’m sorry.” He mumbled, face tucking into the crook of your neck, where he left a kiss to your skin. His hold tightened, squeezing you against his body as he slumped down into you. “I’m sorry for yelling at you. I’m so sorry.”
“It’s okay, Az.” You ran a hand along his forearm, banded around your body, feeling it loosen just a fraction as you squeezed. “I’m just so worried about you, I wanted to make you some tea to help, but I couldn't decide which one.”
At that, a whine slipped free from him, nuzzling deeper into your neck, another kiss, and another. Putting down the teas on the counter, you wiggled a little, managing to get him to loosen up just enough to turn in his arms. His forehead came to rest on your own, noses brushing, a sad frown on his lips as his eyes remained closed.
“Az…”
“No more work. If I’m stressed to the point of snapping at you, then it’s too much. I’m sorry. You were just trying to help, and clearly, I needed the help.”
Looping your arms around his neck, he sighed, a happier sound as you scratched at the nape of his neck soothingly. “Stop apologising, Azriel. I appreciate it, but it’s unnecessary. I’m not angry at you, just concerned.”
“I like that you worry about me.” He whispered, deep voice running like honey as he bent enough to pick you up behind the backs of your legs, spinning you to place you onto the kitchen counter, and step comfortably between your thighs. “But you don’t deserve that kind of treatment. You deserve better. I don’t deserve you, but I don’t want to let you go.”
“I’m not going anywhere, Az. I wouldn't be in this relationship if I was going to run. I can handle you, even when you’re not at your best.”
He only answered with a shaky laugh, hands smoothing up your thighs to sit on your hips, squeezing in a series of happy pulses. “We’re in a relationship?”
Elation was clear on his face, no denying it, at your choice of words, and you gave a little chuckle of your own, nodding against him as your noses came back to brushing together, heads resting on one another. Your conversation with Elain flickered through your mind once again, and you wondered if she had seen this, seen you give into her whims and silently admit she was right. If she’d seen this, you hope she picked up on your mental scowl, too. “Well, what would you call what we have?”
“I like ‘relationship’. I like it a lot, actually.”
Throwing your arms over his shoulders, they looped around his neck, and you pushed your face up a little closer to him. “We may not be conventional, Az, but I like what we have. I like our relationship. I think we’re perfect as we are.”
He didn’t need words to respond, not this time, not as his mouth sealed over your own in a gentle, tender kiss. The first kiss you’d ever shared, a timid one, his lips working slowly and cautiously over yours, giving you plenty of time to pull away.
You didn’t want to, kissing him back with just as much tenderness and affection as he was showing you, pouring every feeling you had into it, to make sure he knew just how much you cared. Your heart was beating hard, fast, racing like a drum under your ribcage as you melted into his touch. One scarred hand came up to cup your cheek, thumb smoothing across your skin, in tandem with every stroke of his lips.
You pulled back for breath, just to find yourself tangled back up in him, his tongue stroking across your lower lip, teasing the roof of your mouth as you opened up for him. A groan skittered across your tongue from him, a pant for breath, his hand slipping up under your shirt to sit on your bare waist as you tugged on the slight curls of his hair.
When he pulled back, at last, your lips were swollen, your lungs burning in the best way possible, and your head was spinning so much you could barely focus. The world felt fuzzy at your touch, glowing and glittering as you stole a final kiss from his lips, his soft chuckle breaking it.
“Am I still invited for dinner with you?”
“Yes. I’m making chicken and potatoes.” Your smile lasted only a second, before you were sitting upright. Time had melted away around you, disappearing into dusk outside beyond the windows, “Oh, no, the potatoes!”
Pushing him back and hopping down from the counter, he watched with a dazed, kiss-drunk expression as you rushed to the stove, taking off the pan lid and prodding at the potatoes with a fork.
“I amend my earlier statement. We’re having chicken and mashed potatoes, because these have gone soft. Entirely your fault for distracting me.”
“I distracted you?” He mused, sneaking up behind you and wrapping his arms around your shoulders, tugging you back to kiss at your cheeks, trailing down toward your mouth.
“You know you did.” His only response was a smile. Draining the potatoes was a challenge, what with Azriel plastered to your back like a new limb that served no purpose, and you had to elbow him off in order to finish the food.
While he waited, he tinkered with the dining room table, pouring two glasses of wine and rearranging. When you turned, he’d dug out the candles you’d put away, lighting them with a match once again, and blushing as he laid them out. “I thought they’d be romantic.”
“I like them.” Your cheeks were equally as heated, smiling to yourself as you turned away to check the food.
His distance didn’t last long, as you searched for a knife with which to carve the chicken, he was once again backing you into a counter, his mouth hungrily descending upon your own. Mutters of ‘waiting long enough’ silenced on your mouth as he dove into you, hands on your body once again, trying to tempt you up onto the counter.
“Let me cook, you menace,”
“Just a few more,” Was his barter, and those few kisses passed more and more time, his lips like a high you had to chase, until only the desperate urge to breathe could pull you apart. “Gods, I love that. I love kissing you.”
“I can tell.”
He rolled his eyes, but his smirk stayed, unashamed of his newfound addiction.
“We need to eat, you need food.”
“I have everything I need, right here.” He leaned in again, lips puckered, and you tipped your head his mouth finding the edge of your jaw, and he grunted unhappily at the action, but mouthed at your skin nonetheless.
“How about after dinner, we can go upstairs and do some self-care. I’ll show you all the fancy new creams and skincare I got. We can relax, and cuddle, and read.”
“And there will be more kisses?”
“There will most definitely be more kisses.” You promised, cupping his face and bringing him back for a final peck.
“Then I think I can agree to those terms.” He stared, pulling back just enough to fully take you in. As the urgency in his expression died down with the promise that this affection was not a one-time deal, his face took on blissfulness instead. Running his knuckles across your cheek, his face softened even further as you leaned into his touch, cupping his hand and pressing kisses to his scarred fingers. “You… You are my moon, do you know that? You light up even the darkest parts of life for me.”
His words were like whispered oaths, something too heavy for you to fully comprehend but burned into your mind regardless, and you gave him a sweet smile back. “You are my stars, Azriel.”
“Really?”
“Every last one. Glittering and perfect in the night, full of mystery and hopes and stories. You are my favourite part of the night sky.”
Your heads rested together, dinner temporarily forgotten just for another moment or so, to bask in the revelations of the evening.
Today,
today changed everything for the better.

꒰ SNOOPY KEYCHAIN !
↺ synopsis ; finding your lost snoopy keychain at 2 am with dokyeom
dokyeom x f!reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“min, i’ll lose my mind please come over and help me find it” seokmin almost felt a little bad at how he had to hold back laugh while you panicked over the phone.
in his defence, it was a funny situation! how could he not find you calling him at 2 am because of your lost snoopy keychain a little amusing?
“i’m on my way sweetheart” seokmin said, voice still groggy having just woken up. he was already putting on a think hoodie to beat the cold of late winter. “don’t stress too much i’m sure we’ll find it, alright?”
you sighed, reassured because of your boyfriend’s words.
ten minutes later, you heard the notification from your phone alerting you that someone was at your door. you made sure it was your boyfriend before opening it up, giving him a quick peck before asking for his car keys.
seokmin tilted his head in confusion and you bit back the urge to coo at him while he looked like a lost puppy.
“it might’ve dropped in your car after our date today”
‘today’ told seokmin that you hadn’t slept yet, upsetting seokmin but he wouldn’t lecture you just yet he thought while handing you his keys.
he watched as you ran across the hall and to the elevator so you could get to his car outside. he watched for a few seconds before grabbing the jacket you had hung by your door and chasing after you, ushering the jacket onto you while you both waited for the elevator.
another twenty minutes later, that snoopy keychain was still nowhere in sight.
“baby, i’m starting to think it might be gone” seokmin sighed, rubbing the sleep from his eyes and stifling another yawn for the nth time.
“don’t say that!” you whined, nudging his shoulder gently, “if it’s gone i’m actually going to cry”
“it’s not the end of the world if you lost one snoopy keychain” seokmin giggled, cupping your face and using his thumb to stroke your cheek.
“it is!” you sulked, “you got me that keychain on our first date at that carnival. if i lose it that means i’m a horrible girlfriend”
seokmin looked at you for a few seconds before breaking out into another laugh. he was far too infatuated with you for his own good.
“considering i didn’t even remember that sweetheart i think that makes me an even worse boyfriend” seokmin said gently and tucking a loose strand of hair behind your ear.
“shut up, you could never be a bad boyfriend” you mumbled, leaning up to press a kiss to seokmin’s lips and melting at how you could feel him smile against your own.
“i’ll get you a new keychain tomorrow, okay?”
“okay”

The Night Shift
A/N: First NCIS fic! Decided to keep my OC's name instead of reader as I'm pretty attached to her.
If you're alone on V Day, here's some Gibbs. <3
Tumblr media
Title: The Night Shift
Summary: What's worse than a sick Gibbs? A sick mini Gibbs.
Words: 2568
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was two am, and Emmie Gibbs was tired.
She wrinkled her nose as something tickled at it and sat up to reach for the packet of tissues sitting dutifully by the pillow.
It was two am, and Emmie Gibbs was sick and tired.
Tony, the shit-stirrer that he was, leaned precariously back in his swivel chair to stare at her. If it weren’t for the squeak of the chair itself, she still would have noticed his sudden attention by the feeling of his eyes boring into her for perhaps the tenth time since they’d set up camp in the NCIS building about five hours ago. He was relentless.
Emmie paused. Tissue wedged in her nose, sinuses burning, she looked up and stared at him. Tony rose an eyebrow. Emmie hardened her stare. Tony, because he was Tony, purposefully leaned further back so she could see the exact moment he dramatically cupped a hand to his stupid little mouth and—
“Giiibbs!”
Emmie’s jaw tensed. Tony grinned in superfluous victory.
Another squeak, a more familiar one this time, and Gibbs’s swivel chair glided along the carpeted floor around the divider between the cubicles until he could see Emmie. She was still sitting up, looking quite the sight with a tissue halfway up her right nostril and her hair sticking at all angles. On any other day she would have responded to Tony’s pure gall by glaring him straight into the ground. But today was not that day. Today was a bad day. Today, her week-long, just-about-bearable cold had decided to manifest into sinusitis, and she’d woken with a face that felt as though tiny little men were mining for gold in her skull. Ducky had liked that metaphor.
Partly because she was absolutely awful at caring for herself when she was ill, and partly—mostly—because he knew he wouldn’t have been able to concentrate on work if she was left to fend for herself at home, Gibbs had dragged Emmie into the office with him. She’d made her rounds all day—curled up on Abby’s little couch at first, then bundled off to an empty room when Abby found working in silence too impossible. At lunchtime, a meeting had been scheduled in the room, and she’d been forced to accompany Gibbs and Tony in the car to a naval base connected to the case they were working on, sniffling and groaning in the back seat like a Victorian child on her death bed.
And here she was now, at two a bloody m, lying on an ungodly amount of blankets, wrapped in Gibbs’s jacket and Tony’s hoodie, on the floor, feeling like her body was readying to explode. Life couldn’t get worse.
Unless you were acquainted with Tony DiNozzo. In which case, life could, and most certainly would, get worse.
Gibbs dipped his head and rose an eyebrow at Emmie. Emmie couldn’t do much in her defence but sniff. Hard. A slight protest only she had the guts to attempt. It was when he pointed a finger at her and motioned with it for her to lie down again that Emmie tossed her arms up.
“Do you know—” Another sniff—“Do you even know how hard it is to lie down and feel your sinuses drain into your throat?” Her voice was so nasally she couldn’t sound stern, even if she put every ounce of effort into it.
Tony, naturally, did not try hard to cover his amusement at that. He snorted and crossed his arms over his chest, spinning from side to side absently in his chair with the tip of his tongue held between his smirking lips when Emmie turned narrowed eyes on him.
“I was getting a tissue, FYI,” she said to him and only him. “So, you can stop being a kiss ass, Anthony.”
“Emmie.” Gibbs disappeared behind the divider again. “Back to sleep.”
Tony, meanwhile, gaped. “Kiss ass who?”
Emmie ignored him and shuffled back down again. She shut her eyes and swallowed. Already the disgusting stuff had decided the place it wanted to be right now was her stomach, and was meandering slowly down her throat towards it.
“You were being a bit of a kiss ass,” she heard Gibbs agree.
“Oh, come on. You said you wanted her to sleep!”
“Yeah, and I do.”
“But you’re gonna call me a kiss ass when I tell you she’s not sleeping? Kiss my ass.”
“What was that?”
“Sorry, Boss.”
In all honesty, there was nothing more that Emmie wanted least right now than to sleep. True, she was exhausted, but the part of her brain not currently still enshrouded in said exhaustion wanted to be up and active again, helping Gibbs with the case like her internship allowed.
And yet, the man still believed she needed her head on a pillow.
The team had been working on a case all day, one she didn’t know the specifics of. It wasn’t exactly often that they stayed in the office well into the night to continue their current case, but it appeared Gibbs had a weird feeling about this one. From the snippets of conversation that she’d picked up and actually retained in her decrepit brain, a potential witness was lying unconscious in a hospital bed somewhere, and Gibbs wanted to speak to him the moment he woke up, which, according to the doctors, could be at any time. That apparently required the entire team to stay behind which, considering the fact Emmie was currently holed up on the floor of Ziva’s empty cubicle, not everyone had complied with.
The moment Tony got out of his chair to help Gibbs with something and disappeared from her line of sight, Emmie eased herself into a sitting position once more. She reached for the tissues again, rubbing at her leaking nose with the sleeve of Gibbs’s jacket and not possessing the brain power to regret that decision. She blew into a tissue, paused to catch her breath, then—
“Gibbs.”
Emmie deflated completely. Wow. The world truly hated her today.
She looked up to see McGee walking in with a bag of takeout. He barely glanced at her as he passed, choosing to instead spend that energy alerting Gibbs to the fact she was, again, not lying down.
Before either Tony or Gibbs could come into view once more, Emmie sighed, stuck two bits of tissue in both nostrils, and scooted backwards to sit against the wall.
“Can’t breathe lying down,” she said before anyone could say a single word. “And I’m tired of being tired. I don’t want to sleep anymore. Leave me alone. Don’t talk to me. Shush.”
Tony’s head appeared around the corner, and he snorted again. Then the squeak of Gibbs’s chair as he got up. A rustling. A moment later he appeared with a takeout box in his hand, walking towards her. He lifted it so she could see, and she groaned, shaking her head. A corner of Gibbs’s mouth lifted but he wasn’t about to back down on this fight. He never did.
He knelt in front of her, close enough to see the pallidness of her face and the slight sickly tremble of her small frame. Emmie visibly relaxed when he reached out a hand to press against her forehead, the coolness of his skin momentarily dowsing the heat of hers.
Gibbs checked the watch at his wrist. “Another couple hours and you can dose up again.”
“Thanks.”
“Yep. ‘Till then…” He went to withdraw his hand, but Emmie’s own hand shot up and pinned his to her forehead.
“No,” she said simply.
“No to my hand leaving, or food?”
“No.”
“You gotta eat. You know the drill. Eat or sleep.” She grumbled something and Gibbs reached with his free hand to lift the lid on the box. The smell of warm chicken soup filled the space between them, and Emmie wrinkled her nose. “Come on, kiddo. It’s only soup.”
“I feel too sick to eat.”
“Sleep it is, then.”
“Dad—”
“Hey. The cure for alll Emmie-related illness is sleep. Always has been, always will be.” It was true. Gibbs knew his daughter better than she knew herself, after all. Everyone was different, but Emmie’s medicine was sleep until she could look him in the eye and confidently tell him she felt a bit better. If years of being a single parent had taught him anything, it was that.
With a bit of reluctance, he pulled his hand from her head and leant forward on his toes. “You don’t have to lie down to sleep,” he told her. “Here—” Emmie wasn’t quite sure what he was doing with the pillows and blankets behind her, but when he sat back and she turned as much as her aching neck would allow, there was a nice little DIY upright-bed against the wall. Gibbs, seemingly proud of his work, was met with a look of absolute discontent on his daughter’s face.
He puffed his cheeks out and glanced at the soup. “Aeroplane?”
“Seriously?” Emmie deadpanned.
He reached for the spoon, a teasing smile pulling at his lips. “Worked when you were a kid.”
“There’re a few keywords in that sentence, Dad. Are you trying to give Tony more fuel to embarrass me?”
Gibbs glanced over his shoulder. Tony had returned to his desk, leaning dangerously back in his chair to gain the best vantage point. The man had absolutely zero shame.
Gibbs jerked his head. “Check with the hospital about Lupin, would you, DiNozzo?”
Tony visibly deflated. Emmie sent him a smug look and he stuck his tongue out. Reluctantly, he wheeled back to his desk and picked up the phone. “Do this, DiNozzo, do that, DiNozzo,” he grumbled to himself. “Oh, while you’re at it, why don’t you polish my boots and write a thesis on my intellectual prowess, DiNozzo? Sure, I’ll get right on it, Boss!” He dialled the number and put the phone to his ear. “Should I get your laundry and your coffee too, Boss? Should I do—hi, there! Anthony DiNozzo, NCIS, calling for an update on a patient? Ryan Lupin. Yeah, I’ll hold. Thanks.”
“Dad.” Such an exasperated voice could only belong to the resident invalid, and after only a second’s hesitation, Tony—slowly—wheeled himself back, as far as the cord to the phone still held against his ear would allow. Emmie and Gibbs were still on the floor, the former looking most disgruntled at the spoon in the latter’s hand.
“I’m being serious,” she said then.
“So am I,” Gibbs said, “very serious. I’m being very serious right now. Soup?”
Emmie rolled her eyes, but a smile was pulling at her lips all the same. She shook her head. “Go back to your desk, old man.”
Tony’s brows shot up and he grinned. “Oohoohoo!” He was close to rubbing his hands together in sheer glee. “You gonna let her get away with that, Boss?”
“Lupin, DiNozzo.”
“I’m on hold!” The fact that Gibbs made no sign that he was going to pick his daughter up on her insult, when Tony knew that if he’d been the one to call his boss elderly he’d be getting a bit more than a slap to the back of the head, hit a sore spot. “Wait,” he said, looking hilariously appalled, “you’re actually gonna let her get away with it?”
Gibbs, defeated in this part only, dropped the spoon back in the box and put it on the desk. “I’ve been called worse,” he called back, “believe me.”
“Grandpa,” Emmie said.
“Thank you, Em, that’s very helpful.”
“Ninnyhammer, pillock, douche canoe, old man—”
“You already said that one.” Gibbs chuckled. “Douche canoe?”
Emmie shrugged. “Dunderhead.”
“Alright.”
“Ugly…nut.”
“Jemima.”
McGee, who’d since been silently working and eating at his desk, paused. Mouth open, forkful of noodles on its way, he turned confused eyes to the ground.
“Her name’s Jemima?”
Tony rolled his eyes. “How long you been here McGee?”
As soon as Emmie looked the slightest bit like she was about to resume her name-calling, Gibbs put his palm over her mouth. He rose a brow in warning. She blinked. Blinked again. Then—
“Aw, come on!” Gibbs’s face contorted into one of absolute disgust as a rush of air and wet stuff flew at his hand. He withdrew it immediately, holding it away from him, while Emmie sniffed and nonchalantly used the jacket sleeve again.
“You little crapbag.” It was the best he could come up with.
“What? You think I plan my sneezes?”
Tony, up until now quite enjoying the performance, rolled quickly back to the desk with the phone at his ear. “Hi, yeah, I’m still here.”
Gibbs stood and walked briskly to his desk so he could grab the stack of napkins the takeout had come with. “I don’t doubt anything when it comes to you.”
“Thank you.” Emmie rubbed at her red eyes with her hand and slumped against the back of the wall. Gibbs, coating his hands with sanitizer, watched with a knowing eye. He shook his hands and walked back around to Ziva’s cubicle, perching on the desk to look down at her.
“You’re sick,” he said.
“I know. And?”
“And, sick people eat soup, and they sleep. Okay? They don’t stay up at all hours of the night—nooo, no, no. I’m talking now, kiddo. I know you’ve been sleeping all day, I know you wanna get up and back to work, but that’s not happening until your fever’s gone. No point in fighting that, and you know full well. Clear?”
Any other day. Any. Other. Day. The protests were practically clawing at her throat. But a sudden wave of nausea rushed over her and she backed down immediately. Still, the thought of lying down again was awful, and the tired eyes she turned on her dad somehow translated that.
Gibbs sighed. “What’s it gonna take, huh?” Emmie didn’t need to think about her answer to that. She wasn’t even sure her expression had changed at all when Gibbs shook his head and crossed his arms over his chest. “No,” he said, “come on, now. I gotta work.”
This time, she did change her expression, putting it on in the way she knew worked best. Gibbs, naturally, relented.
“Fine,” he said, motioning with his hands for her to move over. She did, though admittedly it was a bit of a pitiful move with her aching body. He breathed a short laugh but came to sit in the miniscule space she’d made beside her anyway.
“Thanks, douche canoe,” Emmie whispered.
Tony put the phone down. “Still knocked out, Boss,” he said, pushing his chair backwards. When he saw Gibbs on the floor, arm wrapped around his daughter, who had her head on his shoulder, he crossed his arms over his chest and positively pouted.
“Hey, why do you get to sleep?”
Gibbs chuckled and shut his eyes. “When you’ve got a sick kid, I’ll let you sleep on the office floor with her. Wake me before Lupin does, would you?”
“How am I—Boss? Boss?” Tony threw his arms up in the air and shook his head, grabbing a notebook from his desk to doodle in. “Kiss my ass.”
“Heard that.”
“I wanted you to.”
Well, one thing was for certain. Gibbs may have won this fight, but so had Emmie.

When you wake up you’re still in Liu Kang’s bed, it’s warm and comfortable but he isn’t in it. Dragging yourself up, you sit in his bed and look around the room, which is also devoid of his presence. Your limbs feel heavy as you move, the ground is cold on your feet as you get out of his bed.
The sound of your bare feet hitting the floorboards is filling the quiet house and once you’ve reached the kitchen you can smell something good. There’s a plate of food and a cup of tea sitting on the counter, left for you, Liu Kang is nowhere to be seen but he seems to have made you breakfast and left you a note.
Looking at the note you can see that he’s… stupid. Big fire God is stupid. You skim it but essentially it has the vibes of “I have to go… we will talk about last night later.” Why are men dumb? You sigh and shake your head at the note, already exasperated with him, you wish he’d have woken you up to talk, how long would the conversation have taken.
All this note does is bring you unease, how hard would it have been to write something that doesn’t induce the fight or flight response in you? Seriously? All he had to write instead was, “Stellar sex, I am a busy fire God and have fire God shit to do but I am looking forward to seeing you later”…just something less ominous would have done wonders for you and your anxiety.
Now, you are grumpy, resulting in you eating your breakfast and drinking your tea, stewing in your annoyance. He is allowed to have doubts or whatever his note is meant to get across but leaving a weird note is, well… stupid. Briefly, you wonder what would happen if he came back and you were still here, his note said he intends on speaking with you later but that also feels like an aversion tactic.
To be fair, last night was more of a heat of the moment thing, you haven’t even considered what you would want from him. If he has no feelings for you then maybe it would be better to chalk it up to a mistake, you aren’t stupid, you like him… a lot and being a casual hook up is something you wouldn’t survive. Not from him, it would hurt too much but he doesn’t come across as having no feelings for you. He also doesn’t seem the type to do casual hook-ups.
Leaving without communicating with you properly is irritating, now you’re having to sit here and think of all the what ifs. It’s a waste of time and energy, especially since only one outcome is going to occur anyways. Still, you can’t help but sit here and wonder about what might happen, what he might want, if he would even honestly tell you what he wants.
The note is too vague and mostly conveys doubt in himself and his actions, it’s not explicitly stated but you know him well enough now to read between the lines. If he had felt completely guilt free, he would have stayed or woken you up to say goodbye. He had time to make breakfast, which means he had time to talk to you about this and chose not to.
Sighing again, you get up and clean the dishes he used for you, this day is going to be exhausting, you can already tell. You put your pants from last night back on and grab the rest of your things, ready to head back to your quarters. At the last second you remember the book he gifted you and run back to the room to grab it, it’s still on the nightstand where you left it.
Picking it up, you look it over and take notice of the copy he got. It’s the same published copy you had, which must have taken a bit to find because you got your copy some years ago now. He used some sticky notes for thoughts that wouldn’t fit in the spaces between the words, you did the same thing with yours. He’s properly read it; you can tell by the way his annotations are well thought out and eloquent. It’s such a kind gesture and it displays care for you in a way you’ve never experienced before.
A memory you have with your ex is when you’d asked him if he’d ever read your favourite book and he all but laughed in your face. You just wanted to be able to talk with him about it but obviously he never cared all that much for you. Relationships are hard and messy and now you are wondering what exactly you want. Grabbing the book and everything else you came with, you leave. Ready to walk back.
With the daylight, the trip through the Fire Temple is significantly easier to make. Nothing is obscured and you know exactly where you are, though you know you had poor visibility last night, you still can’t help but feel silly over getting lost and showing up at Liu Kang’s door the way you did.
You also can’t help but feel a little miffed by his blatant avoidance of you this morning, he gave you great sex, great orgasms, and the best gift you’ve ever received only for him to duck you in the morning. What the hell is that? You think the note wouldn’t even be that bad if he had said something less vague.
The walk back is filled with you angry mumbling to yourself, trying to understand his motivation, trying to understand how you’re feeling. Reading yourself and how you feel at any one point is hard, it’s why it took you so long to realise that you weren’t happy in the relationship with your ex. You knew something was wrong, you just took a bit to pinpoint it and by the time you had, it didn’t matter anymore.
Leaving was too difficult and you were comfortable, well, maybe not comfortable but it was familiar. The effort of moving out or asking him to move out was a hard thought and it left you feeling trapped. Clearly, he did not feel the same, having no trouble kicking you out when he was done with you.
When you get back, the house is quiet and dark, the curtains are open but it’s still cloudy out after all the rain last night. It actually looks like you might get more. You decide to change out of the clothes you’re wearing into some fresh ones, finally wearing a pair of your own clean, dry underwear.
For a good chunk of the morning, you read the book gifted to you, reading over Liu Kang’s thoughts as you go. He has given well thought out insight into how the book has made him feel and why he thinks certain choices were made by the characters. A lot of the thoughts he had align with your own, he even picked up on a couple small things you hadn’t considered in all your read throughs.
It’s still one of the most thoughtful things someone has ever done for you and as you sit here reading how much thought he has put into his notes, you realise that being just his friend isn’t what you want, everything about him has captivated you. You aren’t sure what it is exactly you want from him but you don’t want things to go back to how they were before.
Before you lose your courage, you get up and leave to go looking for him. Waiting on him could take no time at all or too much time and you aren’t willing to wait right now. You aren’t exactly certain on what you’re going to say when you find him but if you don’t find him now, you might not ever tell him how you really feel.
Honesty is hard because it leaves you feeling exposed and open, honesty regarding how you feel is something you struggle with but you aren’t going to let your own hang ups get in the way. Not with him.
The first drops of rain start to spit onto the ground below you and you consider going back to get an umbrella before ultimately deciding against it. Right now, finding Liu Kang is urgent, you only hope you find him fairly quickly. Especially if it’s about to rain now like it did last night.
The first stops you make are all his usual hang outs but he isn’t at any of them and you’re starting to get wet, the rain isn’t harsh like last night but you certainly aren’t dry. The last place you check is where you usually meet for tea but he isn’t here either, how is it that you seem to have the worst luck when it comes to finding him.
By the time you decide to give up your search and go home, you’re thoroughly soaked, your stomping footsteps have the water flicking back up at you. It’s chilly, not freezing, due to the fact it’s about midday or early afternoon, you can’t be certain on the exact time but either way the water has a cool bite to it without freezing you to the bone.
When you stomp your way into your house, Liu Kang is already there, seemingly about to leave after not finding you. He’s the tiniest bit damp but nowhere near as wet as you, looking to his right hand you see he’s holding an umbrella. The thought of a Fire God using an umbrella is funny to you.
He speaks first, “You need to stop going out in the rain.”
“In my defence… it hadn’t been raining like this when I left,” you shrug at him with your hands slightly raised.
He retorts, “Was that not your last defence too?”
“Maybe,” you mumble, eyes averting his.
His tone is amused but also exasperated by you when he asks, “Why were you out there?”
“I was looking for you,” your eyes meet his again, “I wanted to talk with you.”
“I said I would talk with you later,” he seems confused.
You argue back, “No, you wrote a weird note that said you would talk with me later, which thanks for that by the way. Totally didn’t fill me with dread reading that first thing in the morning.”
“It was not my intention to worry you,” he steps closer as he speaks.
“Well… you did.” Your arms cross over your chest, still a bit cold. “How hard would it have been to wake me up and talk with me then.”
“I did not want to wake you.” He considers you for a moment, “You were sleeping so peacefully.”
You only scowl at him, it’s meant to be a kindness on his behalf but it felt cruel waking up to a weird letter from the man you slept with the night before. One that you have feelings for at that.
There’s quiet in the room for a moment, a quiet he breaks, “You should change out of your wet clothes.”
You hum at him and move across the room, slipping your shoes off first and leaving them at the front door. You’re only gone from the room for a minute, quickly changing out of your wet clothes into some dry ones, too many outfit changes for today.
Back in the living area, he’s moved to rest against the dining table, not sitting at it but waiting by it, for you. You stand in front of him and awkwardly shuffle your weight back and forth on both feet.
“What exactly about my note upset you?” He’s careful as he speaks, not wanting to upset you further.
“For starters, you left a note.” You look at him, brows raised a touch, “And secondly, your note displayed nothing but guilt or regret, it’s not a nice thing to read after a night that… after a night like that.” Your gaze avoids his again.
He takes in a breath, “My intention was not to make you feel bad…but I am not sure last night–”
“–I am gonna have to stop you right there, big guy.” You cut him off and talk before you’ve fully thought through exactly what you want to say, “I don’t want to hear about how you’ve talked yourself into thinking it was a bad idea. I liked it… I like you.” You’re internally screaming, you just admitted you liked him without thinking it through properly.
“You are making this difficult,” he sighs.
Your brows pinch at his statement, “I’m making what difficult?”
He gestures between the two of you, “Putting distance between us, this is not the most conventional situation, and I am not certain I am good for you.”
Of course, that is where his concerns lie, you tell him clearly, “I don’t want there to be distance between us.”
Initially, his voice is firm, eyes intense, “I do not have the luxury of being selfish…” And then he softens for you all at once, “…But you make me want to be.”
Your skin feels warm at his words, “You have a bad habit of saying things that make me incredibly happy.”
The beginnings of a smile are forming on his face, “Should I stop?”
“…No.”
He smiles full at your response; it’s tinged with a kind of smugness you would normally find unappealing but can’t help but enjoy on him.
You’re not going to let him know that though, “Don’t smile at me, I am still upset about your stupid note. Your pretty words haven’t changed that.”
“My note was… not well thought out. I apologise,” he seems sheepish, his apology genuine.
Keeping a straight face, you reply, “You’re lucky I like you.”
“I think so too,” his smile is so tender as he looks at you.
The way he’s looking at you makes you break, your mostly faux annoyance dropping from your face. You step closer and wrap your arms around him, hugging him. The action confuses him a bit, or at the very least catches him off guard. It takes him a second, but he hugs you back, pulling you closer to him and holding you firmly.
He’s warm and he smells nice, and you could stay here indefinitely, “Just to be clear, you like me too, right?” You feel embarrassed asking him, but you want clarity.
He pulls you back to look at you, both his hands reach up and hold either side of your face, his hands are gentle with you, “So much.”
The smile that breaks out across your face is large, beaming up at him. His eyes are bright, dazzled by your happiness. He leans down and kisses your cheek; you turn your face to the side slightly so you can kiss him on his lips. It’s quick, a small peck but he uses his hands on your face to adjust you, he leans down and takes your lips in his properly.
His kiss is full, heady. He moves his hands from your face to your waist, pulling you closer to him. Your arms move up to loop around his neck. The hands on your hips wander slightly, moving to your back, the back of your head before moving back down to your hips. He’s overwhelming you completely, his touch is everywhere, his lips are soft but firm, demanding in the way he kisses you.
Suddenly, you’re being lifted, he’s pulled you up and he sits you on your dining table, your legs open for him to stand between. His lips go from yours to the side of your face, pressing kisses to your cheek. He trails them down to your neck; his mouth is hot, and his kisses are wet. He lightly sucks at your neck, nipping you every now and again. He’s being careful not to leave any marks behind, but he very clearly wants to.
The gasps and small noises that he pulls from you can’t be helped, you’re sensitive, especially to his touch. He trails his kisses back up the length of your neck, ending right beside your ear. His breath against you makes you shiver and hold back a whine.
“You are such a reactive little thing,” he mumbles against your ear and he’s right; you are but you could’ve sworn you weren’t. It’s just him.
Fighting back another shiver, you go to reply to him, but he breathes on your ear and what would have been the beginnings of your sentence cut off into a small whimper. When he pulls back, he has a very pleased look on his face. You’re scowling back at him, but he doesn’t seem to mind.
One of his hands reach up and grasp the side of your face, he angles you up slightly before leaning down and planting a full kiss on your lips. One you accept and return, despite your annoyance with him.
He moves back and hums, “As much as I would love to stay here and play with you, I have to go.”
“Cruel.” You comment, pouting at him.
He has a light smile on his lips, the rest of his features easy as he looks at you, “I will see you tomorrow, I’ll come get you.”
You can’t help but be sceptical of him, his tone is hiding something, “For what?”
“I am going to begin teaching you self-defence,” his expression holds steady, he’s not asking anymore. He’s being polite but his tone has an underlying dominance to it, not willing to argue with you on this.
So, you sigh at him, displaying that you’re still not completely on board, “Fine.”
“You will do great,” his hand holds onto yours, gripping it once in encouragement.
The concerns you have don’t have anything to do with how you might do performance wise, it’s more that you don’t really see it necessary and would rather avoid a fight it you could. Like you’ve told him previously, he keeps you separate from everything for the most part, so you don’t really understand why he wants this of you so badly.
The only reason you’ve continued to be so difficult about this is because it feels like he’s keeping something important from you and you’ve been trying to push it out of him. But as you’ve just witnessed, he is not entertaining conversation regarding this anymore. Not like that will stop you though, you just have to find a better opening.
“I am not worried about that,” your own hand grasps his once in response.
He knows what you mean, he’s been aware of the way you’ve been feeling him out every time the topic of ‘training’ comes up. He isn’t going to divulge anything though, instead he smiles politely at you and kisses you again. For the final time before he departs, his absence already felt the minute he’s out the door.

In the morning, Liu Kang keeps his promise. Which is unfortunate for you, it’s early morning and quite frankly, it’s too early for you when he’s knocking on your door. You don’t even want to get up and let him in, but you do. Which is quite the effort for you, but you manage and potter over to the front door, pulling it open to reveal him in all his glory. He looks good, he looks ready for the day… you do not.
His eyes are alight with mirth when he sees the state you’re in, still in your pyjamas, completely unkempt and unready for the day, “You look lovely,” he comments.
You groan at him, “It’s too early.”
“It is early, I can make some tea for you?” He’s trying to butter you up, since you’ve finally caved into what he wants.
You step to the side so he can enter, “I would like that.”
He moves closer to you, leaning down to kiss your cheek before brushing past your frame. He’s familiar with your kitchen and puts the kettle on, “You can get changed, it will probably be done then.”
“I will be back,” you smile at him, having him in your kitchen making tea for you makes your chest bloom with happiness.
Your footsteps can be heard shuffling back down the hall towards your room, Liu Kang can be heard opening cupboards in the kitchen. The clinking of mugs can also be heard as he grabs a couple of them for the pair of you.
In your room, you move over to your set of drawers, considering what would be most comfortable for today. You assume he’s going to have you moving around quite a bit, so you’ll have to wear something light and easy to move in. The safest bet is a pair of pants and a simple shirt, basic but should get the job done.
Once you’ve changed, you walk back to the kitchen where Liu Kang is, he’s sat at your dining table waiting for you. A cup of tea sitting across from him, for you.
You sit down in front of him, “Thank you for the tea.”
“You are more than welcome,” he answers, watching you as you take your first sip.
It’s warm and made exactly how you like it; he always makes it perfectly for you. A man of many talents. The tea soothes you, making you feel better about starting the day so early.
Your words are mostly spoken into your cup, “You better not make this a habit, I am not a morning person.”
He hums at you, “I make no promises.”
Your eyes squint at him over the rim of your mug, annoyed at the possibility of him waking you up this early regularly. He just smiles graciously back at you.
After tea, he washes up your mugs, even though you protest. Then he’s leading you out of your house and to a quiet area of the temple you have never been. It’s secluded but open, the perfect area to have tea. Not to Liu Kang though, to him it’s the perfect area to teach you self-defence.
You haven’t told him, but you actually know self-defence to a certain extent. You were single and living by yourself in the city for some time, so you had taken up some classes on it. It went fine, you aren’t skilled or anything, it’s just the basics in case you get assaulted or mugged. You know enough for if you need to get someone off you long enough to get away.
Your experience in the classes is part of the reason why you didn’t want to do this in the first place, the teacher was sketchy. He never did anything to you, but he enjoyed teaching that class a little too much and his hands lingered for just a little too long sometimes. You don’t know if it was malicious or not, but you were uncomfortable enough to never go back and not enrol in any new classes.
The idea of doing this with a stranger was a hard no but having it be Liu Kang makes it easier, you’d still rather not do it but that’s more because he’s keeping something from you. Something you will find out today, he will be answering your questions because you aren’t going to keep doing this for no reason. And you know he has a reason; he isn’t doing this just for kicks.
“Are you listening?” He asks you suddenly.
Was he talking? “Yes?”
“What did I just say?” He looks at you pointedly, waiting for your wrong answer.
You look off to the side, trying to think hard about what he may have been saying, “…Something about how… this is important, and you want me to take it seriously?” you try, your face cringing as you finish your sentence.
He looks to you and sighs, “Essentially, yes.”
A proud smile breaks out across your face, “See? I was paying attention,” you tell him, nodding your head.
One of his brows raise at you slightly, he knows you didn’t hear a thing he was saying before. He comes up to you, both his hands reach up and hold your face between his hands, his eyes looking into your own intensely. “This is important, focus. Please?”
“I will… sorry,” you feel bad, his eyes are pleading with you to take this seriously, so you will.
He leans down and kisses your lips softly, “Thank you.”
You hum at him in acknowledgement, momentarily distracted by his kiss, wanting more of him.
“I just want you to know some self-defence, it will be basic, and I will help you,” he assures you.
You aren’t worried though, “Sounds good.”
He moves behind you, “Okay, I am going to grab you from behind, do what you think you should do and then I will show you the correct way to free yourself.”
“I am ready, just go for it,” you tell him, he’s obviously a bit nervous, he doesn’t want to upset you or make you uncomfortable.
His arms wrap around you, under your arms, normally you would try and slide down between his arms to get away but his hold under yours means you won’t get very far. Instead, you lean all the way down and pull his ankle forward, using your weight and his loss of balance to push him back. He goes down and you go with him. His hold on you lessens and you use the opportunity to get yourself free and stand back up, you’re looking down at him now.
He’s on the floor looking up to you, his eyes examining your own, “You have done this before.”
“I never said I hadn’t,” You reply, he squints at you, and you give him your hand to help him up, which he takes.
When he’s on his feet again he asks you, “Why didn’t you tell me?”
“Why haven’t you told me why it’s so important I know self-defence?” You counter.
He sighs at you, “I want to know you can take care of yourself.”
“Yes but it’s one thing to be able to care of yourself and another to learn self-defence in case of bodily harm,” you emphasise, “This came out of left field, Liu and you know it. Something changed for you, and I want to know what it was.”
“My feelings for you changed, I want you near me, always. I want to be with you, to care for you, always… but I can’t be.” He’s frowning slightly.
You look at him dubiously, “And so your solution was teaching me how to defend myself in an attack?”
“No.” He answers quickly, “My solution is bringing you with me.”
“What?”
“The champions, will be gathered soon and I will be spending a lot of time at the academy… it’s selfish of me but I would like you to come with me, I would like to have you beside me and I would feel better about that if you could defend yourself.” He’s still frowning, clearly unimpressed with his own wants.
“I will go with you anywhere,” you tell him because you would, you would go anywhere, as long as he is beside you.
He reaches for you, both his hands resting on either of your shoulders, his expression charmed by you and your words, “I would like that.”
You smile tenderly at him, “You realise you’ve been kind of silly, keeping this from me?”
“Maybe but how long did you keep your feelings for me to yourself?” He retorts.
“Not the same,” you huff at him, “And you did the same thing,” you point out.
He hums at you, a hand lifting off your shoulder to hold the side of your face, gently cradling it, “I will fix it now then, I like you and would like you to stay by my side.”
“I suppose I will come with you,” you’re pretending to be apathetic, but his words make you so happy.
His eyes lift with his smile, “I need to know the extent of your self-defence training.”
“I know only the basics; I know how to evade an attacker and get myself free of a hold. I don’t know much else.”
“It is more than I thought,” he’s smiling brightly at you.
“What?” You are confused as to why he is so happy right now.
“It means I can teach you offensive attacks,” he informs.
You frown at him, “If I am going to be with you, do I really need to know how to attack someone?”
“It would make me feel better,” he replies, his thumb strokes your cheek.
Your tone is serious as you address him, “Liu, I don’t want to have to attack someone, I hope you know that.”
“I know and hopefully, you won’t but I’d like to know you could.” His expression is serious and so is his tone.
“You’re pushy,” you complain.
The side of his lips quirk up in a smile, “Only because I care.”
“You will not be teaching me any attacks today.” He opens his mouth to protest but you hold a finger up, “No, I have to think about it, attacking someone is different from defending yourself.” You’re looking at him firmly.
You aren’t one of his champions, you are not a fighter. You learnt self-defence out of concern for your own safety and well-being, learning to attack someone is something else entirely and you will have to think on whether or not you want to learn something like that.
“I would like you to consider it, but I understand,” he says before pulling you to him, holding you firmly. You can’t tell if he wants to comfort you or himself.
You sigh against him, “I will show you all I do know today, though.”
“I would like that,” he speaks into the top of your head.
So, you show him all you know. You spend a good amount of time showing him the different kinds of self-defence moves you know, and he helps you, teaching you better ways to do things or correcting your form. It is informative and you’re comfortable with him, his hands are warm, and they guide you.
His touch is innocent, his only intent is helping you show him what you know. He has no ulterior motives, and you realise that the teacher you had was definitely just creepy because this man you’ve slept with is holding you with the innocence of a man who has never seen you naked and has no desire to, his only desire is teaching you and seeing what you’re capable of.
“What is wrong?” Liu Kang asks.
Your face has betrayed your silent moment of realisation, a deep frown set in your eyebrows that you hadn’t noticed, “It’s nothing.” You smile at him, dropping the frown from your face.
He takes you in for a moment, determining if he should push you on this but lets it go, the both of you picking up where you left off. It isn’t until late morning, almost midday that you both stop.
“You know significantly more than I thought you would,” he says.
Looking to him, you reply, “I told you; I only know the basics.”
He makes a sound of amusement, “You know a bit more than the basics.”
You’re a tad shocked, “I do?”
“You do.” He confirms.
“How odd,” you comment.
“Come on, let’s walk back,” he grabs your hand and leads you back. The walk is quiet, and you enjoy the warmth of his large hand for most of it.
Beside you, he squeezes the hand he’s holding to get your attention, “Are you okay, with everything?”
“Yeah, I am okay.” You assure him.
He isn’t sure and tries to offer you an out, “I am being selfish by wanting you with me, you do not have to come.”
“I meant what I said, I would go anywhere with you,” you smile at him and lean into his side.
He hums from beside you, “Good.”

He doesn’t stay long with you; he has to leave for the rest of the afternoon into the evening, but he said he would visit you later in the night if it isn’t too late. You had told him to come by even if it is late, but you don’t know if he will.
The tail end of the day is spent doing whatever you can, mostly though, you read the book Liu Kang gifted you. The notes he left are like reading his mind, they’re extensive and you’re wondering what you could do in return. Something kind that he’d like, something he can appreciate as much as you appreciate the book, but you don’t know what exactly that would be.
Looking to the clock on the wall, you can see the time has slipped by quickly, closer to midnight now. You peel yourself from your spot on the couch and move to lock the door before deciding against it, hoping Liu will stop by and let himself in.
Instead, you potter down the hall and slip into your bed, reflecting on things, head full of thoughts. The day had taken more out of you than you expected it to, you’re still a little stunned that you know self-defence well enough to impress Liu, though he didn’t think you knew any sort of defence, so his surprise is warranted.
You suppose you took those classes fairly regularly for a while and you enjoyed learning, so it shouldn’t shock you completely that you know it well. It’s a damn shame about that teacher though, you really hope he isn’t still teaching.
Thinking about that city fills you with a sense of melancholy, so many bad memories you left behind but also some good things too. You think, you’ll want to go back soon, to see the few friends you had there, maybe go back to that café with Liu.
The plushness of your bed is calling you, and you find yourself sinking back further into it, adjusting yourself so you’re completely content. The comfort of the bed has your eyes drooping, dozing off and drifting into a quiet slumber. Your dreams are empty, thoughts clear for once and you feel warm, comforted. It’s peaceful and you don’t remember the last time you’ve had such a tranquil sleep.
But then the warmth has you getting hot, body temperature rising uncomfortably. You can’t move and eventually your body wakes you up, startling yourself slightly. When you open your eyes, everything is dark and your mind is hazy from the sleep but with what little consciousness you do have, you realise what the cause of the heat was. Liu has crawled into bed behind you and pulled your body to his, his arms keeping you close but whatever he’s dreaming about has his powers a bit out of whack. You wonder how much time has passed and how long he’s been in bed next to you.
His skin is burning up and it’s unfortunately what woke you up, he was unintentionally overheating you while you both slept. Shuffling, you turn around in his hold and put a hand on his face, he’s very hot. He unconsciously pulls you closer to him, a hand wanders down to your hip and pulls you to him. Your front collides with his and, oh? You can see now why he’s burning up; his cock is solid against you.
A sigh leaves his mouth from slightly above you, his cock grinding into you lazily. The hand you have on his cheek quickly taps at his face to wake him; you’re surprised by his unconscious desperation, and you briefly wonder what he is dreaming about.
He wakes up at your touch on his face, his eyes bleary as he looks down to you, he hums in question at you; wordlessly asking why you woke him up.
“Uhm, you…” The words trail off, you can’t seem to find out how to phrase what you want to tell him and now your sleepy brain is needy for him.
Liu grunts at you, fully aware of his own situation now that he’s awake, “Did I wake you?” His words are mumbled, still half asleep.
Your brain is a few steps behind your mouth and your response is to mutter out, “You are hot.”
His eyes close again but his mouth rises into a lazy smile, “You think so?”
You take a second to think of your words first this time, “I mean, yes but you were literally hot, your heat woke me up.”
“You think I am hot,” he teases you, voice deep with sleep.
Sighing you ask him bluntly, “What were you dreaming of?”
One of his eyes open to look down at you, eyebrow raised, “Guess.”
You fight the urge to roll your eyes, you don’t like guessing games, “You sure you can’t just tell me?”
He doesn’t reply, his smile is sly.
He’s the one who was so worked up he almost burnt you in your sleep, “Are you sure you’re in a position to tease?” You enquire.
“And what do you mean by that?” You’ve caught his attention now.
“I mean, you are the needy one right now,” you observe.
“Hmmm, I may be needy,” He mocks your usage of the word, “but I will make you desperate,” his hand pulls your thigh over his hip, his hard cock pressing directly into your core; it makes you gasp. “Want me to show you what I was dreaming of?”
You fight the urge to grind yourself against his dick, not wanting to prove him right. You want to show that he is needier than you, at least tonight but with the way he holds your cunt firmly to his cock without so much as moving an inch, you think you might lose this battle. He’s so hard against you and you’re itching for him to move, to give you a fraction of relief but he’s only holding you, nothing more.
His gaze is unbothered, clearly, awake Liu Kang has far more control than asleep Liu Kang, “Answer me.”
You can feel yourself growing wetter the longer he holds you to him, you’re fighting against yourself. The urge to take what you need growing, but you doubt you would even get close to succeeding.
“Love your facial expression, do you know how desperate you already look for me?”
You look away and pout, “It’s not intentional…”
A finger hooks under your chin and makes your gaze meet his again, “It never is,” his tone is amused, “You wear all your thoughts on your face,” he comments.
“I want to know,” you answer his question from before, his brow raises and you clarify, “I want to know what you were dreaming about.”
“Are you sure?” He’s straight faced as he asks.
“Always.”
Suddenly, he rolls over and takes you with him, he sits you on his lap. You’re sitting on his cock and you’re trying so hard not to grind down into him, though you really would love nothing more than making him cum in his pants for you. He rips your underwear and sleep shorts off, the display of strength astounding to you. Instead of dropping them to the floor like a normal person though, he burns them, he burns your underwear and shorts to a crisp in front of you.
You’re shocked, “Wh– What the hell?”
“Next time, keep your bottom half bare,” he shrugs.
“Liu,” you’re still shocked, he might be a little bit more needier than he’s letting on.
“Yes?”
Your expression is stunned, “You could’ve just put them on the floor.”
“I could have, yes.” He confirms. “Can I stuff you full now? Or do you need another moment to scold me?”
You’re at a loss for words, torn between scolding him and wanting to be full of him. His face is unbothered, but his eyes are knowing, he knows what you will pick, and you really wish you were more spiteful, to teach him a lesson, but you want him inside you.
“Hmmm, I think…” his fingers slip to your pussy, sliding through your folds and spreading your slick all over yourself, “…You need me to fill you up right now,” his fingers are coated in your wetness when he removes them, he shows them to you before pushing them into your mouth.
Your lips wrap around his fingers and suck, cleaning them of yourself. Liu grunts at the feeling of your tongue licking at them, his eyes carefully watching the way your lips are engulfing his large fingers. His gaze is far away as he watches the way he pulls them out of your mouth, obsessing over your mouth, over your lips.
His focus comes back, and he frowns, his hands pull your shirt up and off you quickly; the action surprises you. Gathering yourself, you say, “Do not burn it!”
The expression he wears is amused and for a moment he looks like he’s considering burning it in front of you, just to see your reaction. He ultimately decides against it and chucks it on the floor, something he could have done to your shorts and underwear.
“Pleased?” He asks, raising a brow at you.
“As much as I can be after you’ve…” your retort trails off because he has completely ignored you, pulling his cock out of his pants as you were speaking.
And as you look at his big dick, you’re struck, completely wordless and salivating as you look at it and the way his hand grips himself. His thumb rubs over the tip of his cock, he must’ve been having one hell of a dream because he is incredibly hard and slick. His own precum dribbling from the head of his cock in thick globs, his thumb spreads it all over himself, hand dragging it down over his length.
His cock is shiny and coated in his own mess, you’re practically drooling, your cunt throbbing with your overwhelming need for him, “Liu,” your voice is breathy as you call out his name and it makes his cock jump in his hand.
Your hand reaches out to replace his own, holding him firmly but gently, you stroke up and down his length. Your movements spread more of his precum over his large cock, your thumb rubs at his tip, smearing it all over. His breaths are picking up, his hips twitching, holding back from fucking into your hand. His eyes are shut, savouring the feeling of your softer and smaller hand on him.
“Put. It. In,” he hisses out between clenched teeth, “Or I will.”
You hesitate, finding it an opportune time to tease him, “Why? Are you getting needy?” Your voice singsongs to him, full of mirth.
His eyes flick back open to look at you, his gaze dark and hungry and you feel like maybe, you did not have the upper hand you thought you had. Now, you think, he was maybe indulging you. His finger moves to your core, spreading your slick all over yourself again.
He avoids your clit and lightly pushes the tip of a finger into your pussy hole, only to drag it out and play with your cunt by smearing your arousal all over yourself. The action has your hand pulling back from his cock, grabbing at his wrist, holding onto him. He is working you up purposefully, not giving you any real pleasure. And it really does feel like a punishment because you already wanted him.
You go to ask him for more, “Can you–”
“–Shhh,” he cuts you off, not giving you the chance to request more from him, “You think I am needier than you?”
You don’t answer but your lack of a response is still a response.
“Hmmm, I will remind you of how fun you are to play with, how desperate you get for me,” his fingers still slide through your slick cunt. “How easy it is to have you cumming for me.”
Your pussy clenches down on emptiness, wanting so bad to be full of him. Wanting him to stop teasing you and force his cock inside your very wet cunt but you made a miss step, mistaking his directions for a moment of weakness. And while you were right about his need, he’s certainly not going to give up the control that easily.
God, you just need him to stop being so cruel, his cock is thick and heavy and slick, oozing precum still, but he’s not willing to give you the satisfaction, not now, not after your taunt.
“Liu, please– I… want you,” his fingers still avoid your clit, only really making a mess and not giving you any satisfactory pleasure, you feel like you might shed a tear.
He hums in thought at you, his gaze on your cunt and his fingers, “You want me?”
As you go to answer, his fingers slip over your clit, rubbing tight circles into it very suddenly. Your body collapses forward, hands coming out and landing on his chest to hold yourself up. He chuckles at your reaction, at the way you’re already borderline shaking on top of him. His fingers are relentless, and he was right because you’re already right on the edge and just as you think he might push you off it, he pulls his hand back. It lands on your hip, fingers wet and sticky from your cunt.
They drum against your skin, “You were saying?”
You glare at him, your voice shakes, “That was mean.”
He only smiles politely at you, his expression easy, unbothered by seemingly, everything. He’s waiting for you to speak, and you know exactly what he wants to hear but you only purse your lips and stare at him.
He tuts in response to your defiance, “Got to ask for the things you want, love.”
You pout, “I want you.”
“I am right here,” he retorts, the hand on your hip slides up the side of your body, landing on your tit.
His free hand comes up and grabs at your other tit, he fondles your chest, his hold firm. The way he’s groping you is driving you up a wall and his cock jumps against his abdomen at the way you whine for him. His index and middle fingers pinch your nipples between them as he grabs at you and another pitiful whine comes from you. He releases a mix between a sigh and groan at the sound, obviously struggling with his desire for you.
Your eyes are big and pitiful when you look to his, “Liu, please, I want you inside–”
“–Not what I want to hear,” he cuts you off, eyes stern as he looks at you.
Leaning forward, he presses his lips to your neck, your hands move from his chest to hold onto his shoulders, and you’re surprised at how hot he has gotten again. His body temperature increasing with the way he’s restraining himself; his mouth sucks a mark into your neck and his tongue is hot as it licks at your skin.
His hands grip your hips and pull you closer to him again, his mouth sucking marks into your neck, your chest. He’s working his way down, leaving hot and wet marks against your skin everywhere his lips go. Once he’s reached your breasts, he takes a nipple into his mouth, tongue flicking at it, the warmth of his mouth makes you twitch on top of him, a gasped whine exiting your lungs at his ministrations.
He pulls back but bites at your nipple lightly as he does, it makes you jump and gasp, “Liu, please…” He makes a noncommittal noise, still not hearing what he wants from you.
The grip he has on your hips moves to your thighs, he’s grabbing at your skin, enjoying the softness of your thighs, his hands are hot on your delicate skin, and you squirm in his lap. His gaze locks onto your thighs, and you think you know what he wants, probably wants to leave marks on them.
After he gets an eyeful, his eyes look to your cunt, your slick dripping down your thighs with how little he’s given you. So horny for him and he’s done nothing but edge you once and fondle you. One of his hands slips from your thigh to your pussy, fingers immediately massaging your clit, you’re so worked up that you moan at the slight touch. His other hand grips harshly at your thigh, grounding himself.
“You are so wet,” he observes, his fingers still rubbing your clit, “Why don’t you end your suffering and tell me what I want to hear?”
Your response isn’t much of a response at all, only a small broken whimper passing your lips. The pathetic sound has Liu’s abs tightening, his cock twitching, the heat he’s radiating increasing, obviously he’s torturing himself at the moment. He looks delicious and as much as you’d love to see how much it’d take to break him; you don’t think you would survive it.
“I need you, please,” you break for him, eyes pleading, wet and almost crying, so close to finishing and wanting him to let you. He doesn’t reply though, and it worries you, so you beg, “please, Liu –nngh– need you to– I–” You’re incoherent and your voice is whiney but when you look into his eyes, fuck. He looks… feral.
His hand speeds up for you, his grip on your thigh loosens just the smallest amount, enough so you can grind down onto him a bit. You’re leaking down his hand, down his wrist, your nails dig into his shoulders and right as you’re about to cum again, he pulls his hand away… again.
The sound you release is a borderline sob, your pussy is throbbing with need, and you’re so confused as to why he didn’t let you cum. Your eyes fill with unshed tears as you look at him, your voice is small when you ask, “Why?”
He wears a large smile on his face, eyes still feral but he seems to have found a new kind of resolve, “Something wrong?”
You’re speechless, are you still being punished? Why didn’t he let you cum, did you not give in to him? “What did I do wrong?” Your brows are pulled up, worried.
“Nothing, you have been perfect,” he smiles assuredly at you, but his expression has an underlying wicked hunger. He taps your thigh, so you hold yourself up, “I’m going to stuff you full now,” he informs you and at his words you hold yourself up for him.
You don’t want to get your hopes up, now feeling like his show of mercy will come with conditions but you are really hoping he will fill your cunt. He grips his cock in his hand, pulling you closer to him, when you’re in reach, he rubs the messy tip of himself through your folds. The pair of you already a mess in your own rights, the action mixing the two together.
“Take the tip,” he directs, voice firm, warning you to only take the tip of him.
“Yessir,” you murmur in response as a joke, but his dick twitches the smallest bit in his hold.
For your own sanity, you don’t tease him for it, fearing you may not survive anymore edging. You do as you’re told, lowering yourself onto his cock and taking only the tip of him, with how wet you both are, it’s an easy fit. You take his tip well, but you are slightly concerned with taking the rest of him; right now, you think, if he slammed up into you all at once, you’d cum on his dick alone.
Your thighs are burning slightly at how you’re having to hold yourself up, trying not to take anymore of him. He’s breathing heavily, his skin getting hotter again, his hands move to your thighs and grip them, pulling at the supple flesh. Your pussy is pulsing around the tip of him and he’s doing everything he can to hold back, having a specific plan for how he wants to fuck you tonight and doesn’t want to ruin it by losing control here.
His thumb slips to your clit and rubs into it, flicking at it, it makes you moan and has you itching to sit down on him. Wanting to feel completely stuffed full, “Liu, I want –nghh– I want all of you.”
“That’s too bad because I want you to do as I say,” he replies harshly, voice hissed between his clenched teeth. His commanding voice and the attention he’s giving your clit makes you clench down on him, he continues talking, “I want you to cum, that’s what I want.”
Something about him tonight is driving you crazy and you were already so close to cumming before he spoke but now, after hearing him tell you what he wants, you’re a split second away from cumming. The final straw is when you look down to where you’re taking just the tip of him, your own arousal sliding down the sides of his cock, the mess is obscene, and it makes you cry out.
Your nails dig into the skin of his shoulders again, needing the leverage as you cum on him. The feeling of your walls fluttering on the head of his cock makes him groan, loudly. His head falls back on the headboard and his eyes close, needing a moment to recover before making his next move.
The breaths you release are huffed; he’s finally let you cum and it makes your previously unshed tears slip down your cheeks. The relief you feel is euphoric, your head dizzy with how good it felt. He only edged you twice and you just about lost your mind, if he ever tries to do that properly, he might kill you. Or drive you actually insane.
He opens his eyes to look at you, “Crying over the tip of my cock?” His tone is cocky, knowing he’s pulling you apart so well.
“No,” you lie, a hand moving off him to wipe at your cheeks but one of his own hands stop you, grabbing your wrist.
“Leave it, you look cute, crying over my dick,” he muses aloud to you.
You look at him sceptically but don’t wipe your face all the same, letting him have his way. When he’s sure you won’t wipe your face, he drops your hand.
“Sit down,” he says, “Take it all, for me.”
You feel yourself flutter with excitement, looking forward to finally being full of him. You slide down his length, taking more of him, slowly as you do. The stretch of him is delicious and you think, even if it hurt, you wouldn’t stop, your need for him outweighing any pain. You want him in you, want his pelvis grinding into your clit, need, you need his pelvis grinding into your clit.
The both of you are so slick and sticky the sounds can already be heard in the room, a soft squelching as your cunt sinks down on him. His hands hold your hips, helping guide you down onto him fully, you’re taking your time, wanting to be careful. Your hands move to his pecs, open palms splayed on his chest, there’s heat radiating from him, hotter now than when he almost overheated you in your sleep.
“You’re –nngh– really h–hot, Liu,” you tell him, concerned by it.
He smiles at you suggestively, and if you weren’t still trying to take all of his cock, you would roll your eyes at him. “It’s fine, don’t worry about it,” he reassures you, knowing you are worrying for him and his wellbeing, even with his cock a few inches in you.
He’s getting impatient at how long it’s taking you to get all of him inside you, his frustration reaching a head. Instead, he takes control and shoves you down on him, filling you all at once, the shock of it, of being so full suddenly, the slap of his pelvis against your clit, it makes you cum on him very suddenly. Small whimpers falling from your lips, your hips unconsciously keep grinding into him, riding out the high. Your cunt clenching down on him, hard, with your orgasm.
A guttural groan comes from Liu, you can feel it rumble in his chest under your hands, “That’s it– mmph– love how easy you cum for me–” he sighs out, relishing in the way you’re gripping his fat cock.
Your hips come to halt, done grinding down into him but his hands on you keep moving you against him. Encouraging you to keep grinding, it makes your stomach do flips, barely even coming down from your high before he’s trying to get you to cum again.
“It’s too much–”
“–I thought you needed it,” he counters.
You shudder against him, already on the edge so quickly after your last orgasm. You try to tell him how it feels, how it’s so overwhelming. Having his cock grinding so deeply inside you, having your clit drag against his pelvis, it’s so much. But nothing leaves you, nothing but a few more tears and small whimpers.
His expression as he watches you is sure; he knows what he’s doing, and he knows what he wants from you. You play right into his hand, and nothing brings him more joy than that, “You want to know what I need?” He asks you.
You shake your head at him, not really paying attention.
“I need you to cum again,” he tells you and he’s serious, his hands grip you harder and drag you against him firmer.
The added pressure has you cumming on him again, your cunt squeezing him tightly as you cream around him, again. He moans pleasurably, overjoyed at you doing as he says and at the way your cunt cums messily around him. He twitches inside you, sensitive and needy for you but having too much fun playing with you to stop.
Even as your body jolts from overstimulation, he doesn’t stop dragging you against him, still forcing your hips to grind down, “Liu, I need a moment–”
“–No, you don’t.”
With the way he’s filling you completely and the stimulation on your clit, he’s going to kill you, or have you passing out on his cock. Your arms struggle to keep yourself up, shaking against his chest. One of his hands leave your hips to pull you to him, your bare chest pressed to his own. He’s so hot.
How he’s holding you now, he leans back slightly, feet planting on the bed. Using his leverage to grind up into you as he forces you down on him, it has you moaning into his skin. The hand on your back slides up and grabs at the back of your neck, holding you to him.
“I know you’re already close again,” his voice is breaking, holding back his own sounds of pleasure until they only come out as whiney breaths.
You whinge against him, “I can’t–”
“–You can, and you will.”
His skin is so warm, so firm, all his muscles moving against you. His large cock fills you so well and you want him to actually fuck you, but you’re concerned you might not be able to take it. You’re drooling on his skin now, just from his incessant grinding, the thought of him actually fucking you has your cunt clenching and brain short circuiting.
“Come on, love–” his words are cut off by his own gasp, you’ve cum at the sound of his voice. It’s low but pitched with need and he sounds so fucking good that you cum on the spot, your pussy choking his dick harshly.
He groans at the way you grip him; his hands stop dragging you down onto him, but his hips chase yours, his own desperation showing in the way he’s rutting against you. His arms wrap around you, holding you to him tightly. He keeps grinding up into you and it makes you whine into his neck.
He’s breathing heavily next to your ear, borderline whimpering at the way you wrap so tightly around him, at the way you came so nicely for him.
“Liu, you –hah– feel too good –mmph– too much,” you mumble against his skin, his shoulder wet from where you’ve been drooling against him.
“–Hah– I am not even close to done with you yet,” he huffs in response, his hips still grinding up into you. With how he’s holding you, you have no choice but to take what he gives and what he’s giving right now is desperate grinding, still not fucking into you properly.
He moves his face into your neck and licks at the length of it, it makes you shudder against him, "Last one, and then –mmm– I’ll fuck you.”
You’re dazed as you check with him, “Promise?”
He hums at you, “Promise.”
His hips keep grinding up into you, his hand on your hip encouraging you to do the same, wanting you to finish for him. Your body is tired, but you rut down against him, it makes him hiss and then he bites your neck. The sounds he would have made muffled by his teeth in your skin, the feeling has your cunt spasming on him.
He pulls his mouth back from you just to lick and suck at your skin and then he’s biting your shoulder. The small pain driving you up a wall, it makes your pussy leak for him, your breaths are stuttered and you’re going to cum again.
He mumbles against your skin before pulling back a bit so you can hear him, “The way you’re gripping me, fuck–” He’s about to moan but instead bites your neck again, harder this time. The shock of the pain goes straight to your cunt and you cum on him, again.
You’re lucky he’s already pressed you completely to him because you would’ve collapsed onto him. Whines and whimpers are pulled from your chest, more tears slip down your cheeks and you feel so far away from your body, you don’t even feel like you’re on Earth anymore.
Liu is groaning into your skin, he pulls back and lathes over his bite mark with his tongue and when he looks at it, he hums in contentment. Pleased with the impression of his teeth in your soft skin. His hips have stopped grinding up into you, giving you a needed break, you’re slumped against him, breathing heavily.
“Been doing so good for me,” he compliments. You can only hum in response to him, you’re out of it.
He lets you catch your breath; his hands stroke up and down your back, his lips press kisses into your skin, over the bite marks he’s left. He’s giving you a quiet moment to gather yourself and you really appreciate it because at this point, you don’t even know how many orgasms he’s given you, but your body does and you’re feeling fucked out.
Once your breathing is normal, you tell him, “You’re going to kill me.”
He chuckles at you lightly, amused, “No, I’m not.” He pulls your head back so he can press his lips to yours, taking away any chance of you disputing him.
The kiss is kind and tender and a stark difference to how he’s just pulled multiple orgasms from you. He kisses you softly, his tongue slips into your mouth, and you melt against him. Your thighs spreading open further on him unconsciously, it has his cock inching just the tiniest bit more inside you and it makes you moan into the kiss.
He grunts against you; his hands grip at your hips. His body heat is still hot, he’s itching to fuck you but being as patient as he can be. When he pulls back from the kiss, he nips your lip lightly and it makes you gasp. He only smiles easily at you when you glare at him for it.
“Need you to move, want you on your hands and knees for me,” he taps your thigh, and you start pulling up, it has you releasing gasped whines. Just as you’re at the tip of him, his hands hold you on him, “Look at the mess you’ve made on me,” he practically growls out the words.
When you look down, the mess is obscene, so much of your cum coats his cock. Creamy ring at the base of him, you look to Liu but he’s looking at his cock and how messy it is. His dick jerks at the image, his hands hot on your hips.
“You are such a messy little thing, love the way you cum for me, so fucking easy to have you creaming on me, fuck–” he closes his eyes for a moment, he’s working himself up. He takes a breath and looks at you, eyes dark, “Hands and knees.”
Taking the hint, you pull yourself off him completely and shuffle around on the bed. You face the headboard and sit back on your knees, feeling a bit embarrassed at arching your back for him and hesitating to do so. He gets off the bed and stands up, removing his pants properly. He moves to the foot of the bed and points in front of himself, giving you wordless instructions.
You do as he indicates and move in front of him, he tells you, “Hands, knees,” and makes a spinning motion with his hand, instructing you to turn your back to him.
Turning around, you lean onto your hands, you feel sheepish as you do. Liu’s hand pushes your upper back down until your chest is on the bed, his other hand pushes your thighs open for him. You arch your back for him, your ass and cunt on full display. When he pulls away to look at you, he groans.
His hands play with the globes of your ass, pulling them apart and staring at your pussy, “Perfect, stay like this.”
Faintly, you can hear shuffling from behind you, you aren’t sure what he’s doing. But it shocks you when Liu drives his cock into you all at once, your body jolts forward and you moan. Liu curses lowly at the feel of you around him again. His curses are hissed and breathy, and he holds his hips to your ass for a moment, collecting himself.
Once he’s taken a second, he pulls out of you and forces himself back in. His initial choice in pace is already so devastating, his thrusts are harsh, stuffing his cock into you with each one. All you can do is take it though, so you do, because as overstimulated as you are, the way he’s finally fucking you has you feeling so blissed out, you wouldn’t rather be doing anything else.
He fucks into you so deep the tip of his cock kisses your cervix, your moans are pitiful, almost whimpers from how well he fills you, from how well he fucks you. He has you seeing stars and you would be embarrassed at how close you are to cumming on him again, but it feels so good, and you’ve been far gone ever since he stuck his dick in you completely the first time.
Liu’s moans flow more freely from him like this, letting himself indulge after robbing himself of the pleasure he desperately wanted from you. He was torturing you before sure, but he was also balls deep in your tight cunt, not doing anything but grind into you, his self-restraint is godly, and he thanks all that is good for it because he really does love making you coat his dick in your cum. He loved having you cry for him, overstimulated and needy, he’s going to cum at just the thought of it if he’s not careful.
Your moans hit a higher pitch and his thrusts pick up pace, knowing you’re close and still wanting another couple orgasms from you before he finally fills you with his cum. His hands on your hips fuck you back onto him as he thrusts forwards and you’re clenching down on him, a small pathetic whimper exiting you as you cum on him.
If you hadn’t already been arched the way you are, your arms would have given out and had you face planting into the bed below. Instead, you whimper at your unknown numbered orgasm and drool into the sheets. Mind swimming with thoughts of him, of his large hands, how hot they are against your skin, about the thick drag of his heavy cock against your walls, how easily he pushes you off the edge, so sure in his actions, so sure you’ll cum for him when he wants it.
Your pussy throbs around him, he grunts but doesn’t stop fucking you, he own need overwhelming him, his spoken thoughts not all that coherent anymore, “G –hah– you feel so fucki– feel so divine –nngh– mm going t– hah– to fuck all my cum inside you, fill up your –nngh– tight little –fuck– cunt,” his breaths are whiney, and his head is lost in the feel of you.
His hand reaches around your front to rub at your clit, the stimulation has you shrieking and trying to crawl away from him, “Liu– I –hah– can’t please–”
You keep trying to crawl up the bed away from him, but he pulls you right back with no effort, “Yes you can– I need you to –hah– fuck–”
He holds you back easily, you have no chance to escape his punishing thrusts and relentless fingers. He’s still mumbling nonsense but not only is he barely coherent, but your thoughts are barely coherent, all the blood rushing to your head. You can’t understand what he’s saying but it’s a mix between praises and curses.
His fingers don’t stop and you cum on him, he’s effortlessly pulled another orgasm from you, and it makes your moan border on a yelp. Tears flow down your cheeks onto the bed sheets, you’re so sensitive now, your mind so far gone. He’s growling behind you at the way you pulse around him, the noises he makes barely human.
His hands are so hot on you, his skin burning up, he grabs both of your hands and pulls them back. Using you as leverage to fuck into you, he’s also making sure you can’t try and crawl away from him. His thrusts are wild, the wet noises in the room are so obscene, you think you’d die of shame if you had even half your wits about you.
You’ve heard the phrase fucked dumb and you thought you had been fucked dumb, last time Liu fucked you, but this is insane. He’s going to send you to an early grave, and you don’t even care, not with how delicious he sounds, the moans and grunts he’s letting out have you ascending to a higher plane.
His grip on your wrists are firm but he drops them and grabs your hips again, just to pull you back, your legs drop to the floor in front of him. Lucky he’s holding you up because you are not capable of it at the moment. Your front half is still pressed completely into the bed, Liu holds your lower half up, your tippy toes just barely grazing the floor. His dick is hitting everything inside you that has you folding in on yourself and insides twisting, he might make you cum again, you’re going to need some kind of higher being to take mercy on you because you are fucked.
He's animalistic behind you, focusing on his own high, at least you thought he was, but his hand reaches for your clit again and you try to squirm away from him. You are unsuccessful, you’re so weak and he’s got you in the palm of his hand and he knows it. You can’t even verbally protest, only wiggle and whine below him.
“Want you to –hah– fuck– I need you to squirt for me,” his voice is deep, laced with so much hunger.
You try to tell him, “I don –ah– ’t th –mmph– ink I–”
“You can.” He’s steadfast, certain you can and that he will make you.
His fingers slip over your clit, everything is so slick, both your lower halves slippery from all your orgasms. He’s not gentle, his thrusts are harsh, and his fingers are determined, his cock is bullying its way into your cunt, hitting so deeply inside you, you go cross eyed.
The build-up is making you crazy, everything he does is pulling you apart by the very fibre of your being. Your cunt is clenching down on him like a vice, the pleasure feels like too much and you squirm against him, trying to get away again. Nonsensical words fall from your lips trying to warn him, but he only laughs deeply at your attempts at evasion; he’s happy he’s getting what he wants. A particularly deep thrust sends you over the edge, you cum… everywhere.
Liu groans at the sight of you squirting for him, on him, his thrusts don’t slow, if anything, they speed up. Chasing his own high now, so ready to fill you to the brim with his cum. He’s trying very hard to keep his powers under control, not wanting to burn you but his hands are hot against you and the closer he gets to his high, the less control he has over himself.
You’re crying from the pleasure, it’s been so intense, you don’t even feel like a person anymore. You can’t even moan, the noises you make are small whines and cries. Liu is obsessing over how your cunt swallows his cock, how well you take him. He’s also enjoying the small sounds you’re making, his ego inflated hugely tonight.
Everything about you right now has Liu just about losing his mind, the sounds he lets out are wild and unrestrained. All you can do is take it and wait for him to finish, and you really want him to finish. You want to hear him cum, want to feel him twitch inside you as he finishes.
You clamp down on him harshly, the sudden tightness of your cunt has Liu keeling over slightly, moans breaking off into whimpers as he fucks his cum into you. His hands burn you and he fucks your hips down against the bed so it holds you up, wanting to remove his hands as quick as he can.
He grabs at the footboard of the bed, the wood smouldering under his hands, he’s burning his handprints into the wood. He humps into you for a while, riding out his high, rutting into you to keep his cum inside your pussy. You’re pressed to the bed, completely absent.
When he’s gathered some control back, he leans down over you, “Are you okay?”
“I– I think so,” you slur out, mouth mostly pressed into the mattress.
He hums and slowly pulls his cock from you, he takes a moment to watch his cum leak from you, wanting so badly to stuff it back in but knowing you’re already so sensitive and he doesn’t want to push you.
“Did I go too far?” He asks, scared he’s broken you.
“Mm good,” you singsong out, shakily giving him a thumbs up, “Worth it.”
He scoffs at you in amusement, eyes tracing over your fucked out body, landing on the light burns he’s left on your hips. Red handprints left behind; the sight has his ego inflating but he also feels guilty.
“Need to give you a cold shower,” he comments.
You murmur out to him, “Bit late for that.”
“For the burns,” he clarifies.
“Hmm?” You didn’t think they were that bad, you remember him being hot, not burning you. Getting up slowly and with Liu’s help, you twist to look at your hips, “Well, I’ll be.” You smile stupid at the burns, “I like ‘em.” You say before flopping back onto the bed.
“Need to run them under cool water,” he presses you.
You only groan at him, “Can’t move.”
He sighs at you and picks you up, carrying you to your bathroom. He has to hold you up in the shower but he’s happy to. Your legs are like jelly and you’re barely conscious.
You remember why this happened and ask him, “As good as your dream?”
“So much better,” he kisses your cheek, “In my dream, you only came a couple times, this was way better.”
You gape at him, “What?”
He just smiles happily at you, pleased with himself.

BOOPING THEIR NOSES .ᐟ
Tumblr media
includes: ( separated ) blade, dan heng, jing yuan, kafka, jingliu, himeko x gn!reader, jing yuan calls u wifey / hubby, ooc, established relationships — wc: 792
Tumblr media
BLADE
Blade’s mind had been wandering for a while, lost in deep contemplation that had whisked him away from the present moment. Unbeknownst to him, his thoughts had consumed him entirely.
But then, out of the blue, you playfully tapped his nose with a gentle ‘boop!’ It was as if you had conjured a magical spell to bring him back to reality. “What’s that for?” he queried, arms now crossed tightly against his chest.
With a mischievous grin, you simply replied, “You appeared lost in thought for an eternity, so I felt compelled to rescue you!~”
“With a boop? Really, are you a child?” he chided, ruffling your hair before sauntering away.
“H-hey! My beautiful hair!” you cried, feigning despair as your locks tumbled in disarray.
Tumblr media
DAN HENG IL
Dan Heng had been engrossed in a book for the past few hours, leaning against a tree while you dozed off on his lap, snuggled up against his tail. Lost in the world of words, he hadn’t realised you had woken up until you playfully booped his nose.
Startled, he closed the book and met your teasing grin, following the path of your finger that had just touched his nose.
“Did I wake you up?” he asked, gently patting your head.
You hummed in disagreement, shaking your head from side to side. Then, your finger rose once more, ready for another playful ‘boop!’ as you giggled at the bewildered expression on his face.
“Well, aren’t you having fun?” he teased, pulling you up to rest against his chest while his tail lovingly wrapped around your form. Finally, he sealed the moment with a sweet kiss.
Tumblr media
JING YUAN
As Jing Yuan dozed off on your lap, you tenderly ran your fingers through his hair, savouring the tranquillity that enveloped his face. Unlike his usual guarded demeanour as a general, in your presence, he seemed to let his defences down.
Unable to resist, you playfully booped his nose, softly murmuring a quiet ‘boop.’ Jing Yuan couldn’t contain the smile that spread across his lips. Startled by his reaction, you flinched, your hand frozen in mid-air near his face. Sensing your surprise, he took your hand and pressed a gentle kiss upon it, before speaking, “Glad to see you’re enjoying this, (lǎo pó / lǎo gōng)?”
Realising what he had just called you, you blushed, hastily covering your face with your hands. His laughter filled the air as he sat up from your lap, gently removing your hands from your face, and teasingly placing a kiss on the corner of your lips.
Tumblr media
JINGLIU
“Boop.” you playfully declared, gently tapping Jingliu’s nose with your finger. Her eyes widened in surprise, curiosity gleaming within them as she questioned, “What’s the meaning behind this gesture?”
“I simply wanted to witness your reaction!” you exclaimed, your smile brimming with innocence.
“I hate it,” she began, noticing how your face deflated in sadness. But before she could continue, she saw your eyes light up with anticipation. “Do it again,” she said, closing her eyes shyly, crossing her arms, and waiting.
In a burst of joy, you squealed happily, unable to contain your excitement as you booped her nose once more. Jingliu caught you in her arms, tenderly brushing a strand of hair away from your face before placing a gentle kiss on your forehead.
Tumblr media
KAFKA
“Kafka~” you called out, leaning over her shoulder with your hands playfully concealed behind your back.
“Hmm? What is it, darling?” she asked, her gaze still fixated on the script before her. But the sudden sensation of your finger on her nose, followed by a small ‘boop!’ made her turn her head towards you.
“My, my, aren’t you feeling playful today~” she remarked, gently holding your cheek before placing a tender kiss upon it.
“Hmm, I’ve missed you. Elio keeps whisking you away for his darn scripts,” you whined, embracing her closely.
“Well, I suppose I could have a word with him, ask him for a break, my dear,” she mused aloud, feeling the nodding of your head against her shoulder. “Looks like I’ll have to pay him a visit later.”
Tumblr media
HIMEKO
Himeko was in the midst of brewing her morning coffee, letting out a small yawn as she had just woken up. Oblivious to your presence behind her, you gently tapped her shoulder, causing her to turn around. Just as she faced you, she felt a playful tap on her nose.
“Boop! Gotcha!” you exclaimed, winking and sending her a playful smile.
“Oh my, you startled me, sweetheart. Boop~” Himeko booped your nose in return, surprising you and causing a slight blush to grace her cheeks.
She couldn’t help but laugh at your reaction before preparing your favourite drink alongside her coffee, inviting you to enjoy the morning together.

Summary: After coming off your medication, you're really suffering through the withdrawals but your boyfriend helps you through it.
Author's note: I know many people won't relate to the things going on in this fic but as someone currently going through withdrawals from my medication, I thought I could use it for a fic because goddamn I might as well turn my suffering into art. Special thanks to @hellfiremunsonn for helping me with the pet name!
CW: 18+, talks of poor mental health, medication withdrawals, Steve calls reader angel.
Word count: 485
Tagging: @rowanswriting @quinnigallagherjones @hellfiremunsonn @stevesxyellowxsweater
Any hate will not be tolerated, constructive criticism is welcomed.
You did not feel well at all; from the constant zapping inside your head to constantly feeling like you were floating, your withdrawal symptoms were absolute hell. It was your own stupid fault for coming off your medication cold turkey, but in your defence, you had no idea the withdrawals would be this bad.
All you wanted to do was curl up with Steve in his bed bed and watch Narnia or have a Doctor Who marathon together until the zapping inside your head and the nausea went away. Unfortunately for you, your boyfriend was stuck at work and wouldn’t be home for a few hours, so you had to deal with your symptoms alone.
Wrapping yourself up in one of Steve’s hoodies, you turned on 90 Day Fiancé to have at least some background noise, just so you weren’t lying in bed in total silence. You struggled to concentrate on anything for long periods of time so to have something mindless was the best thing you could do.
You must’ve fallen asleep because you were woken up to feeling Steve’s fingers gently brushing through your hair, causing you to give him a shaky smile as you opened your eyes.
“Hey angel, how’re you feeling?” Steve asked, continuing to stroke the top of your head and your hair.
You groaned a little before sitting up, rubbing the sleep out of your eyes before wrapping the bed covers around yourself. “Like a peach… a battered and bruised one.”
Steve smiled softly, almost sadly. “I’m sorry, angel. I promise I’m gonna take a couple days off and look after you.”
You shook your head, leaning into him. “You don’t need to; I think I just need to sleep this stuff off for the most part.”
He pouted slightly, pressing a gentle kiss to the side of your head. “Is there anything I can do to make things better?”
Pouting yourself, you buried your face in the crook of his neck. “I just need you here,” you whispered, your voice cracking a little as you sniffled. Groaning, you moved away from Steve to wipe away your tears.
Your emotions had been all over the place all week; you broke out into uncontrollable crying over the smallest things, and you were growing tired and irritated of it. All you wanted was to go back to normal but that felt like a lifetime away, and for all you knew your withdrawal symptoms could last for months.
Seeing your tears, Steve pulled you into his arms and held you close, rubbing circles on your back to soothe you. “I promise I’m gonna be here for you, angel. How about I put on Narnia and order some sushi?”
Wiping away your tears with the sleeve of Steve’s hoodie, you nodded your head and crawled back into bed while Steve pressed play on the TV and the title screen of Narnia greeted you.

As per y'all please send in requests, feedback and enjoy!!
Tumblr media
Maverick had decided that the newly formed Dagger Squad needed some time to learn how to work as a team after seeing the tensions between them during training sessions. Especially with the tensions between Hangman and Rooster, Maverick needed to guarantee that the two could have each other’s backs in the air if he chose them both for the mission.
When Dagger Squad arrived at the beach, they grew confused when they saw Maverick and Hondo standing together with footballs in hand and a whistle around Hondo’s neck. When the team questioned what was going on Maverick simply shrugged and split them into two teams, passing the orange ball to Hangman and the blue ball to Rooster.
“This is dogfight football. You’re going to be focusing on offence and defence at the same time.” Maverick starts before explaining the rules. Once the team is ready to play, Hondo initiates the game and both teams begin to pass the balls to their teammates, trying to get the ball to their end of the made-up pitch. Maverick plays for a while but when it gets too much he taps out, throwing his shirt back on as the team groans and teases him for leaving. Maverick notices Penny leaving the Hard Deck as he approaches the beach chair he had set out and waves him over, with Maverick running over.
“Hey Penny.” Maverick grins as Penny smiles back at the aviator.
“Hey, Mav. I’ve got a toddler in the back room who’s just woken up from her nap and is now asking for her daddy.” Penny says, gesturing loosely with her head in the direction of the small back room of the Hard Deck that homed a sofa that you often crashed on for naps while Maverick was having a drink or two at the bar.
“On it.” Maverick says without hesitation and heads through the empty bar to the back room, opening the door quietly and his smile widening when he sees you, his three-year-old daughter rubbing at your eyes.
“Hey, sweetheart.” Maverick says, the smile refusing to leave his face as you light up upon hearing your dad’s voice.
“Daddy!” You exclaim happily, barrelling towards your dad as he scoops you up in his arms. You immediately wrapped your arms around Maverick’s neck and hugged him tightly as he pressed a kiss to your temple.
“You wanna go out and sit with me on the beach?” Maverick asks, watching as you nod and let him carry you out to the beach chair he had brought.
“Do you want to build some sandcastles, y/n/n?” Maverick asks as he eases himself down into the chair but you simply shake your head, clinging to him. He doesn’t force you to do anything so he just settles down in the seat and smiles lightly as you cling to him, the tiredness clearly still in your system.
Rooster was the first of Dagger Squad to notice. He was jokingly booing a touchdown scored by the opposing team and as he looked in Bob’s direction, he caught a glimpse of Maverick with a kid curled up on his chest. Rooster stopped mid-groan when he noticed, a look of shock and upset covering his face.
“Don’t need to pull a face, Rooster. We’re clearly the better team.” Hangman gloats, lifting his sunglasses to shoot a wink at Rooster but noticing Rooster didn’t shift his gaze to glare at Hangman like he usually would. The rest of the Daggers catch on to Rooster staring and they follow his line of sight to see Maverick whose attention wasn’t on the team but instead on the little girl in his lap.
“Mav’s got a kid?” Payback asks, glancing at Hondo who shrugs.
“His business is his business.” Hondo states simply, lifting the whistle to his mouth to start the game again but the whole squadron begins crossing to Maverick, with Rooster trailing behind awkwardly and hiding behind the group where Maverick couldn’t see him. Maverick didn’t miss the group of aviators crossing to him and immediately knew they’d have questions since he never gave any hints that he was a father.
“You guys have questions, huh?” Maverick says with a slight smirk as he looks up at the aviators as you cling a little tighter to him. He whispers some words of reassurance to you and watches as you settle back against him and even offers the group a smile and a wave.
“We didn’t know you had a kid.” Fanboy states the obvious and Maverick laughs to himself while hugging you a little tighter.
“In all fairness, I never made it obvious I had a kid. But this is y/n.” Maverick says, introducing you to the group and they all say hi to you, all of them instantly smitten with you.
“You married, old timer? Never saw a ring.” Hangman asks, a smirk playing across his lips as Maverick shakes his head.
“Nope, not married. Let’s just say I met a pretty lady a few drinks in and nine months later I have this little monster.” Maverick says, tickling you lightly as you squeal and try to wriggle out of your dad’s grip before he stops. The team figured out what he meant pretty quickly from those words, and they immediately dropped the subject before someone could ask where your mother was.
“How old’s mini Mav?” Phoenix asks with a small smile, glancing down at you and then back up at your dad.
“Three.” Maverick replies, running a hand up and down your back gently.
“Hey! I believe you guys have some team building to be getting on with!” Hondo calls across to the squad, getting their attention as they look at him and then back at Maverick.
“Hondo’s right. Cyclone will already have my ass for having you guys out here instead of training. At least give me something to prove this is worth it.” Maverick says and the team all nod, moving to return to their game. All except for Rooster who remains rooted in place, unable to remove his gaze from you and his godfather. He felt two conflicting emotions at once. He was still angry at Maverick for pulling his papers and setting him back four years. But, in seeing you, he felt upset at himself for cutting Maverick out. Maverick was the only family he had left and Rooster had felt nothing but alone after cutting Maverick out and after his mother died. Seeing you made Rooster see the man who used to carry him around when he was younger because his feet hurt from dancing around to his dad playing ‘Great Balls of Fire’. In seeing you, he saw his dad’s best friend. His Uncle Maverick.
“Bradley…” Maverick starts, unable to form words as he looks at the man standing in front of him.
“Hey, Mav.” Rooster says awkwardly, his hand reaching up to scratch at the back of his neck, a habit he’d developed in his youth.
“You uhh- you have a kid.” Rooster then says, gesturing loosely in your direction as you wave at him, a grin on your face and clearly oblivious to the tension between the two.
“I do. y/n this Bradley. Bradley, this is y/n.” Maverick says, introducing the two of you, fighting to keep his smile on his face for you.
“Hi, Bradley!” You grin, and Rooster can’t help but smile back.
“Hey, y/n.” Rooster says, unable to stop the smile as he waves at you lightly. After getting the greeting from Rooster, you settle back against Maverick, giggling when he grunts jokingly at your shuffling. Once you’re content, you lie your head against your dad’s chest, right above his heart and cuddle as close as humanly possible.
“Look, Rooster, I am so sorry for-”
“I don’t want to talk about this right now, Mav. Especially not in front of your daughter. But if you’d let me. I’d like to try and make things better. It may take some time. But I’m willing to try.” Rooster says, struggling to find the right words. He wasn’t ready to fully forgive Maverick for what he did, but Rooster was starting to see him the same way he did growing up. Maverick, respecting Rooster’s wishes, nodded with a small smile. Maverick then turns his attention down to you, his smile growing when he sees you fast asleep on his chest, a fistful of his shirt in your hand as you sleep comfortably against your dad.
“Figured you were still sleepy.” Maverick whispers to you, pressing a kiss to the top of your head before redirecting his attention to Rooster.
“We can talk more later. For now, go join the dogfight football. You and Hangman need to learn how to get on.” Maverick says, nodding his head in the direction of the Dagger Squad and Rooster gives a small nod before turning on his heels and heading back over to the team. Maverick watched the team for but a moment before turning his attention back to you, gently brushing the fallen strands of hair away from your face before whispering to your sleeping form.
“I gotta say, kiddo. I think mini Mav is the best nickname you’ve ever been given. It’s sticking around.”

Marauders - Florals
Tumblr media
another fic! just a sweet and short little fic about James and some apology flowers! enjoy! warnings are mention of Y/N and feminine language, and suggestion of reader being in gryffindor.
pairing : james potter x reader, remus x sirius
Nothing had gone right today. You had woken up late this morning, hence missing breakfast. Then, when you arrived in herbology, your hair looked like someone had attempted to crochet it. Finally, just to put the cherry on top, as you walked into Defence Against the Dark Arts, you were suddenly coated in a green, slimy texture. You could feel it seeping into your shoes. The room was silent, and, without a doubt, you knew who was responsible. Wiping the slime from your eyes, you made eye contact with those brown eyes and curly hair, the circular frames on his face framing his eyes making them just even more punchable.
James Potter stood there in disbelief. Snape was meant to walk through that door, not you. Lily rushed to grab you by your shoulders, leading you back to the Gryffindor common rooms, but not without turning and giving James a glare that would rival that of McGonagall. Sirius slowly raised from his seat, and gave James a solid pat on the back. “Nice going mate.”
It was Saturday, and James was on a mission. That mission was what he had named operation apology flowers. James had, in Remus’s opinion, quite annoyingly tugged the 3 other boys in his dorm along with him, deeming that “There is no time like the present'', as he opened all the blinds in the room, and pulled the donna's off all the boys. Peter had rolled his eyes, but got up reluctantly with limited complaints. Remus questioned his life for a little bit, thinking about the events in his life that had led to this moment. And finally, there was Sirius, who could only be described as looking like a real life zombie, his pale skin emphasised further by the bags under his eyes, and the nasty look he had been sending to James since the sun first entered the room.
Hence, that is what led to the current situation, where James held about 20 bouquets in his hands. He was determined to make it up to you, but he wasn’t 100 percent sure what flowers were your favourites. Lilys, sunflowers, roses, peonies, mums, lavenders? Name essentially any flower, and Remus swore he could see it in James’s hands. Peter had taken a couple off of him, being the only one of the 3 to feel sorry for the situation James had found himself in. Sirius was sincerely too tired to care.
It was at that moment, he caught sight of your hair. “Y/N!” He yelled, turning heads all around Hogsmeade. You turned, and he took note of the slight red to your cheeks. He scurried through the middle of the alley, before poking his head from in between the bouquet of sunflowers that had made its home in the middle of the forest he held. “I got you flowers!” He lightly pushed the bouquets forward, towards your body, and you were at a loss. A lost that 1, you were in fact very happy to receive flowers. You had felt now that winter was on the way, your dorm had been dropping in colour, and needed a pop. However, what were you going to do with all these bouquets?
“James, how on earth did you get all these?” It was at this point you took notice of his companions, who looked like they would rather be elsewhere. “Uh… the flower shop…? Look, I just wanted to say sorry for the slime. You were not my intended target, I promise, but I saw the door open and got maybe just a little excited...” He watched your eyes roll, a gentle smile spreading across your cheeks, that continued to stay rosy. “That's alright. Help me carry these to my dorm?” Remus could have sworn he developed whiplash from the speed at which James nodded, before shoving a couple of bouquets into Sirius and Remus's hands, taking your own in his, before he began making his way back towards Hogwarts.
Sirius cheekily turned to Remus and offered him the small bouquet of roses that had made home in his hands. Leaning in, lightly, he pressed a kiss to his cheek, looking to the ground before scurrying to catch up with Peter. Remus stood, abashedly, before shyly shaking his head, and moving to catch up with the group. He guessed the Saturday wasn’t so bad afterall.

I breathe flames each time I talk - Chapter 6
Summary:
The story of how Oriana Fireborn Belmont finally meets her mate's family.
Also the story of how Rhysand, The High Lord of the Night Court, finally recognises that by the cauldron, there is no fury like a female scorned.
Azriel would just like everybody to get along.
Warnings:
Rhys Bashing
Notes:
I put a lot of world building into this. If you don't recognise it from canon, I probably invented. Or I forgot that canon existed.
(thanks to @firefly-graphics for the super pretty dividers!)
Tumblr media
It’s the High Lord.
Azriel felt the wards shudder and then snap closed, his mouth ceasing to make sounds in the middle of his conversation with Cassian.
“Oh no,” he breathed when he felt the ice-cold fury pour over their mating bond.
That was all he needed before he forced himself to get out of bed and snap at the shadows that tried to hold him down. For once they listened to him, probably because they knew that he was too fucking furious to be held down.
“You are supposed to stay in bed!” Cassian protested. Azriel ignored that as he hobbled to the door.
“My mate is going head to head with the fucking High Lord of the Night Court, I am not staying in the fucking bed!” He snapped. There was to hope that they wouldn’t outright kill each other but somehow he didn’t think that Oriana, in all her righteous fury, would be in a very forgiving mood.
Cassian finally acquiesced, fitting himself under a shoulder and dragging him outside onto the porch where Nesta stood, staring at the spectacle before them.
Rhys was trussed up like a turkey, suspended midair, merrily swinging in the wind, wings unable to move much in the golden bubble Oriana had him in.
And Oriana…Oriana stood in front of him, hands on her hips and glaring at Rhys.
“Oh for fuck’s sake, Rhysand! I told you to stay away,” Cassian snapped. “How? Is that your magic?” He asked Oriana, who just shrugged.
“It’s an enchantment. I reworked my warding net. That you broke,” she answered, her voice even.
“When the fuck did you even do this?” Azriel demanded.
“Last night when you were sleeping, Sweetling. I was bored,” Oriana answered. “And you are supposed to be in bed. I got this well in hand.” Of course. Sometimes she slid out of the bed in the middle of the night because she had an idea for something and needed to write it down before she could forget it. These days she kept a notebookonn on her bedside table, though the sound of a pen scratching over parchment had oftentimes woken him up, only to reach out and pull her against his chest. “It’s like a mouse trap. Just for High Lords. Who stick their nose into things that are absolutely none of their business,” she said brightly.
Oh for cauldron’s sake.
“I realise that I may have misstepped,” Rhys dared to say, still dangling head down in the air.
Oriana’s head snapped towards him. Azriel held back a grimace while Nesta started to outright grin.
“ Misstepped ?” Oriana repeated voice light. The magical bindings jerked Rhys up. “Is that what we call that now?”
In his defence, Rhys didn’t even tried to get out of it of his magical prison. He probably realised that trying anyway wouldn’t be a good idea. Who knew what else Oriana had worked into her enchantment when she had been working in it?
“I am surprised you haven’t set me on fire yet,” Rhys said drily. “Like last time.” Last time?”
“Oh, all in good time,” Oriana said brightly. “I enjoy your fear too much to cut this short.”
Azriel probably… definitely shouldn’t find this attractive. But he did.
He really, really did. It was the pure magical power that poured from her, the intelligence that it must have taken to make a ward like that, her mind at work, protecting herself, protecting him.
“There won’t be a repeat of last time, if you worry about that…” last time? What did she mean by last time?
And then his attention was pulled towards Feyre twholanded a few feet before the golden dome that surrounded the Lakehouse and jogged the rest of the way, until she came to a stop in front of the ward.
“If you wouldn’t maim him for life, you would do me a favour!” Feyre called out.
Oriana inclined her head. “High Lady.” There actually was respect in her voice that hadn’t been there before for Rhys.
“Oh, just Feyre is fine!” Feyre assured her. “It’s so nice to meet you!”
“Oriana. But I think you already know that,” Oriana said. “It’s nice to meet you too.”
“She’s very pretty. I can see why you wanted to marry her sister,” Feyre told Rhys drily. Cassian next to him choked on nothing.
“You wanted to marry her sister ?” Cassian asked, sounding incredulously. “What exactly did you do to his favourite jacket, Oriana?” he asked her, a grin stretching over his features.
“I put it on fire,” Oriana answered easily. “And then I started with the rest of him. He had it coming though. He tried to flirt with Enya and when she turned him down, he tried it with me, but I was already engaged.”
Oh. Well.
“You were engaged?” Cassian asked, surprised.
Oriana shrugged. “Yes. I got engaged to get Enya out of marrying and being miserable for the rest of her life, an  then this one shows up and wants a bride. Which would already be bad enough but to decide that if one wouldn’t suffice, the next was an option? Yeah, I made my displeasure known. My sister is much happier in the infirmary than she ever would be as anybody’s wife,” she ranted. A fireball appeared with a dainty little flick of her wrist, flying across their yard near the bubble that still held Rhys. He was eyeing it with no small amount of trepidation.
Azriel had no clue what to think about all of this.
“Don’t worry, your jacket is safe from my wrath,” Oriana quipped.
“Could you maybe not kill him?  I kinda want my son to know his father,” Feyre asked with a grimace
“Thanks, Feyre darling,” Rhys said drily. She just shrugged
“Sorry, you had this coming, Rhys,” Feyre said, crossing her arms.
“Don’t worry, he won’t die,” Oriana promised. “I have only killed one person in my life and that wasn’t even on purpose.”
“Who did she kill?” Cassian asked him in a hiss.
“Her husband,” Azriel said with a shrug. At Cassian’s stare, he added,  “He had it coming. It was self-defense.”
Quite frankly, Wynstan had it coming. It could have been much worse. Oriana’s magic had onlyburneds him to death. For what he had done to her and taken from her, that kind of death could probably still be considered to be merciful as far as Azriel was concerned.
“You can walk through the ward. It’s intent-basedd,” Oriana told Feyre at that moment. Feyre watched it carefully for a moment but then stepped through the ward that did nothing but glow brighter in response for a moment.
“So what exactly was Rhysands intent if he triggered it?” Cassian asked the question that Azriel was also having.
“No small amount of self-loathing, I imagine,” Oriana said drily just as Feyre reached them, pulling Azriel into a hug.
“You look better than I thought you would,” she told him, a smile on her face. “She won’t burn him, will she?” she muttered under her breath and Azriel just shrugged. His guess was as good as any.
“ We are going to talk about consequences,” Oriana said at that moment, flicking her wrist a second time, another fireball joining the first, hovering in the air. A third time. It spoke of so much control over her magic that Azriel was slightly awed. “And about what exactly constitutes appropriate behaviour towards my mate.“
The last thing he had expected was the words that left  Rhys’ mouth next: “I am sorry.“
Azriel’s eyes widened. This wasn’t…This was the last thing he had expected. Especially because Rhys sounded like he really was sorry.
“I wasn’t aware that you even knew that word existed. For what are you sorry?“ Oriana prodded sharply, arms still crossed, clearly not willing to let a single thing go.
Azriel couldn’t remember ever having anybody in his life who came down this harshly on anybody who did anything to disrespect thim. Even Rhys and Cassian thought that he could deal with it himself. Oriana…Oriana was seemingly glowing with righteous fury, thinly concealed magic sparking at his fingertips.
“I was…out of line,” Rhys struggled to bring out the words.
“Were you?” she questioned lightly. Her tone of voice was in a very sharp contrast to seemingly everything else she was doing. From Rhys dangling in the middle of their garden to the fireballs that surrounded him glowingly.
“I was,” Rhys agreed. “I thought that…I tried to do what was best for the Night Court,” Rhys said quietly.
“Correction. You tried to do what you thought was best for the Night Court,” Oriana cut him off. “Without even talking to anybody else or asking for advice.  But then you aren’particularlyar smart, so maybe I shouldn’t have expected any differently.”
Ouch.
“Excuse me,“ Rhys complained, but she ignored that. Nesta bit back a laugh, while Feyre watched that whole thing with ill-concealed fascination. Cassian had crossed his arms, while Azriel himself was leaning harshly against the porch railing, as he watched his mate rail against Rhys.
Oriana wasn’t even close to done, was she?
He could feel it pour all over their bond, her fury, her anger, burning brightly as she concentrated it on who she clearly felt deserved all of it.
Azriel wondered how she had put all the pieces together, but then maybe he shouldn’t. She knew him better than anybody else. And she was smarter than anybody he knew. She had probably overheard his conversation with Cassian and that had felt in all the blanks that she had been missing.
“You know, I kept a list,” Oriana said suddenly. “A list of political decisions you made that I thought were unwise. But quite frankly, it didn’t really matter to me. If Velaris turned out to be unsustainable, I was just going to go back into the mountain,“ she told him. “But some decisions you made were about Azriel. And these…they pertain to me. They matter to me.”
“If I didn’t do what I did you would have probably never even met him,” Rhys pointed out, his voice hoarsely. The fireballs burned brighter in response, flames appearing at Oriana’s fingertips as she uncrossed her arms and held her hands to her side, clearly used to not burn the clothing she was wearing.
“Is that supposed to make me be on your side?” she hissed.  “You think that makes it any better?  I love Azriel! I would rather not have him feel any pain at all than even spend a moment in my presence!” He flinched at her words because he had very different thoughts about that. He would rather walk through fire and burn alive than be even a moment without Oriana.
“When I met him, he was a fucking shell of a being! He expected me to turn him away at every corner, to tell him to leave me alone! You hurt him. So much so that for close to two years, he lived in a house without any furniture! Where he slept on the floor. And I quote *I grew up in a cell, at least this has windows!* ” He couldn’t help but flinch at her words.
“Oh Az…” Cassian whispered and he held tighter to the railing. Oriana wasn’t finished though.
“You hurt him! With your words, and with your actions! I could argue against why you did what you did. I could pull apart your reasoning like plucking feathers from a chicken! But that doesn’t matter because you actually believed that you did the right thing!”
It was so quiet after her outburst, that the only thing that could be heard was Oriana’s harsh breathing.
“I…I just wanted to protect him,” Rhys finally whispered, his eyes closed, anguish clear on his face.
“Who, Lucien?” Oriana snapped.
“Azriel,” Rhys disagreed. “My brother.” His eyes opened and violet eyes searched out Azriel’s even over the distance between them.
“I am sorry,” Rhyapologiseded. “I am so sorry.  I thought that it was infatuation. I didn’t think that you really loved her. I…I wanted to protect you. I know how strong the mating bond can be. I know that. And I…I thought that the chances that she was going to choose him were slim. Not because of you. But because of that bond. I wanted to protect you and I wanted to protect this Court. I thought I was doing the right thing.”
The words stood between them, quiet but heartfelt.
And maybe if Rhys had actually told him that…if he actually told him that he was worried about him that he loved him but that Elain was mated and that even when she made any appearance that she wasn’t interested in Lucien, that could change when she actually settled into being a High Fae and didn’t just grief after the humanity that she had lost…
He could have understood that. He could have been reasoned with that.
“Why didn’t you tell him that?” Oriana questioned quietly. “You could have just told him that.”
“I could have. But I didn’t. And that wasn’t even the worst thing I said,” Rhys admitted. “I said something even worse than that. I said to go to the pleasure hall if he wanted sex.”
Azriel flinched at the words that had haunted him.
Reasonably he could understand how Rhys must have meant it. But they felt like something truly different to him, meant something very different to him.
“I am sorry for that,” Rhys said quietly. “I…thought that you didn’t love her. But it wasn’t on me to make that determination. And I shouldn’t have ever even thought about telling you that.” He swallowed. “I am sorry, Azriel. You are my brother. And I am so sorry for how treated yoItt’s will haunt me for the rest of my life.”
He knew that Rhys meant every word and he was really not looking forward to hashing this out for much longer.
“You’re gonna let him down?” he asked Oriana, who turned towards him. He pushed forgiveness at contentedness and he saw the moment she softened.
“Do you want me to?” she asked and he just nodded. She turned to Rhys.
“Have you learned your lesson?” She asked him pointedly.
“Don’t cross you,” he answered. Fire burst out of her hands at that.
“Wrong answer,” she hissed at him.
“Don’t stick my nose into things that are none of my business?” he tried again.
“Closer.”
“Don’t treat my brother like that again.”
“You ever even think about doing anything like that to Azriel again, this is going to look like children’s play. Do you understand?” She asked, every word burning with intensity. Rhys swallowed. Azriel watched with some amusement that he actually was scared if the look in violet eyes was anything to go by.
“Crystal.”
“Good.”
“We should keep her. The psychological warfare would be unparalleled,” Cassian whispered to him. Azriel just snorted.
It took nothing more than another flick of her wrist, and the fireballs rushed into the ward, the golden bubble that kept Rhys let him go and he unceremoniously plummeted to the ground until his wings could wildly flap and save him from landing face first into the mud.
He finally let go of the porch railing, managing to hobble down the two steps down onto the wide expanse of grass. Rhys crossed the distance to him and yanked him into a tight hug.
Something inside him eased at that, as his hands fisted into his brother’s jacket, his face pressing against his shoulder.
“I am sorry.”
“Don’t do it again.”
“Never.”
“You are two idiots, but I love you,” Cassian said drily, suddenly next to him and Azriel snorted as Cassian pounced on both of them in a hug. “Are you finally gonna come to family dinners again now?”
✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦
They were his brothers.
Even when she had never seen all three together before that moment, she could easily see that.
She pushed any remaining anger she felt away because quite frankly, her own anger didn’t really matter. Azriel was the one who had deserved an apology. Azriel was the one who needed to hear that from his brother.
She crossed the yard and, back to the porch, finding Nesta and Feyre both watching the three of them just like she had done.
“I think you could have at least put him on fire a little bit ,” Nesta told her drily and Oriana snorted in amusement, while Feyre rolled her eyes.
“Ah, you know…there is always a next time,” Oriana said, shaking her hands, sending the last few sparks of fire flying into the evening air.
“Are you finally gonna come to family dinners again now?” she heard Cassian ask and watched him as half-carried, half-dragged Azriel up the steps to the house.
“I will,” he agreed.
“And you are going to share some of your toys?” Cassian prodded.
“He will,” Oriana agreed for him. “I’ll even make you your own when that is possible.”
“You know what, I like her,” Cassian said with a grin as he poured Azriel into the old rocking chair they kept on the porch.
“You can’t really say any differently, because you are still waiting for Azriel to rip out your throat,” she shot back.
“Shh, don’t remind him,” Cassian shushed her wide-eye, making her snort. Azriel wasn't going to rip out his throat. They both knew. Give him a few bruises...once he felt better though, definitely.
“You were supposed to stay in bed, Sweetling,” she told Azriel drily as she took in the way his skin was ashen, sweat beading at his hairline. This really wasn't good for him.
“How about I sit right here, does that count?” he offered and she snorted. It was probably the best she could hope for.
"You do that, and you take your pain position without argument," she told him pointedly. He just inclined his head.
“You know Mor is going to be so sad that she didn’t see it,” Cassian commented at that moment to Rhys, who just glowered at him in response. “Or Amren.”
“Oh don’t worry, I’ll show them the whole thing,” Feyre said with a shrug, looking at her fingernails.
“Feyre Darling,” Rhys sighed.
“Nah, I agree, show them, Feyre,” Cassian said with a grin. “It’s not every day that you get to see Rhys dangling head down and apologising. So about family dinners…” he started once again.
“Well, we are already all here. If you want to get Amren and…Mor?  You could,” she suggested, looking at Azriel who looked anxious but hopeful. Hopeful that she was going to meet his family, and that she would get along with them. “Though you’ll all be subjected to my cooking.”
“The meatballs were definitely smelling mostly edible,”  Nesta said with a grin and she shrugged.
“Just for that you can help me make bread,” she suggested, Nesta laughed but inclined her head.
“I’ll go fetch them,” Feyre suggested brightly “Do you have an anti-winnowing ward on here?” she asked, but Oriana shook her head, opening it up with a turn of her bracelet.
“Not anymore,” she said easily as she walked in. “One of you, get Azriel inside and put him somewhere to sit down!” she called over her shoulder. “And whoever else can help prepare a rabbit to roast, can help me in the kitchen!”
Cassian ended up being the one following along in the kitchen, while Rhys got Azriel to sit at the dining table, fussing over him much to Azriel’s and her own chagrin.
“Did I break the winnowing ward?” Cassian asked her, sounding apologetic.
“No, she just lifted it,” Azriel answered. “I could feel that,” he told her drily and she shrugged.
“I tied it to a bracelet,” she explained. “Makes it easier to change.”
“You can do that?” Rhysand asked and she just raised an eyebrow at him.
“I can do nearly anything I put my mind to,” she told him pointedly. He inclined his head at that, and she pulled out the rabbit from the stasis cabinet she put it on, as Azriel had hunted it a week or so ago.
Nesta and Rhys ended up helping with the bread, while Cassian cleaned and spitted the rabbit that ended up in the oven.
Even Azriel got in on it, cleaning the potatoes she gave him, though she used an enchanted knife to peel them…making it much quicker than it would be to do it by hand.
Feyre came back, a winged boy on her hip, Amren in two and a beautiful blonde female with her that Oriana had seen before.
“Amren,” Oriana said with a smile, greeting one of her grandmother’s oldest friends.
“Oriana,” Amren responded, inclining her head. “And our very own Shadowsinger. Your grandmother did mention that you always made the most interesting choices.” Oriana couldn’t help but laugh.
“What can I say, normal is boring,” Oriana responded, much to the amusement of Nesta who snorted.
“It’s so nice to meet you properly. I am Mor,” the blonde female burst out with, pulling her into a hug. “So, out of pure interest, what did Azriel do when he saw what you bought on you?” she teased her but Oriana just laughed.
“He hasn’t yet,” she answered. “I am keeping it for a special occasion.” It made Mor grin and wink at her. Azriel watched the exchange with wide eyes.
“Nothing that you need to worry about, sweetling,” she teased him and he just rolled his eyes at her.
“And whose that?” Oriana asked turning to the little boy still in his mother’s arms that looked at her with bright blue eyes, the ball she had made him clutched in his hands.
“That’s Nyx,” Feyre said with a grin. “Can you say hello to Oriana, Nyxie?”
He gave her a toothy grin and then held out his arms for her, demandingly.
“I think you got competition, Az,” Cassian muttered, making Azriel roll his eyes once again. Oriana just shook her head but offered her hands to the little boy who happily wrapped his fingers around hers.
He looked like a perfect mix between his parents, with black, fluttering tiny wings that were absolutely adorable.
She couldn’t help but wish that this was something that Azriel and she could have one day, that it was an option they had. They didn’t. But maybe that was okay. As long as she had AZriel, she was going to be happy.
Anything else…that would just be the icing on an already perfect cake.
“So who wants something to eat?” she asked brightly.

Break me - Neteyam Sully
Part 2 to 'Hurt' Please make sure you have read it first before coming to this one. It needs the context :)
Tumblr media
Warnings - Smut, oral (male and female receiving), spanking, hair pulling, swearing, arguing, unprotected sex, use of good girl, fingering. Minors dni.
A/N - Neteyam and the reader are both 19
Neteyam had wrapped you in cotton wool, much like your bandages that are long gone, since the incident. Your stomach had healed nicely, a faint scar was the only proof that it had even happened. You recovered quickly, bed-rest was not your thing and you wanted to get back into the swing of things. The only thing that hadn't healed was Neteyam.
He was constantly by your side, checking for injuries, asking if you were okay. Hell, you could hardly slip away for a calm fly on your Ikran without him tagging along worried for your safety. Neteyam had also hardly been with you physically since it happened. You could see it in his face whenever he handled you roughly that he thought you could break at any moment. It stinged a bit.
Your day had started at the crack of dawn like always, trying not to wake Neteyam up so hopefully you could have a morning ride without his pestering. He was starting to sound like your mother. You cringed at every loud sound you made as you peeled Neteyam's arm from your waist and slipped out onto the floor. You were successful at operation keep Neteyam asleep. You slipped out of your home and almost screamed and jumped up and down from the victory as you had failed many mornings before.
You appreciated the time alone. The morning air was crisp and sharp and just exhilarating. The sunrise glistened in your eyes and you felt the warmth on your face, forcing a smile onto your face.
When you joined breakfast shortly after. You were instantly interrogated by Neteyam. His hands stopped you mid step, brushing the sides of your arms. "Where were you this morning?" He asked seriously, his voice was stern and demanding but you refused to let it dampen the amazing morning you'd had. You sighed and gave him a smile, "Well good morning to you too, my darling. I just went for a morning ride. Was hardly twenty minutes." You tried to sound as chipper as possible but Neteyam saw right through it.
He groaned, "Y/n you know I don't like it when you just leave like that. I wasn't even awake. You didn't even leave a note. You could have at least woken me."
You scoffed, "You would have joined me if I woke you up."
"And that's bad because?" Neteyam was pushing your buttons. And you decided not to play up to it. You simply looked him in the eye giving him a look he couldn't ignore. He knew deep down you were angry but he would get the truth out of you later. Your tail flicked in annoyance, annoyed that Neteyam spoiled your morning and annoyed that you still had to reach up and peck him on the cheek as you walked past as if to say, "I'm angry at you but I still love you.
Breakfast went swiftly, you engaged in conversation mostly with Neteyam's little sister Tuk. When everyone had finished, Jake cleared his throat. "There's a raid today, the sky people have upped their game with their defence. Neteyam you will join and Y/n you are obviously invited along. We could use the help."
Just as you were going to agree to join the war party, Neteyam spoke for you, "Over my dead body is Y/n joining us." His voice was dark and serious. You frowned and looked at your boyfriend, sat across from you. "That is not your decision." You told him, the anger bubbling up in your chest.
"I will not allow it. Not after last time. You're not going." He told you, his eyes were giving you a warning. You didn't want to argue in front of his whole family so you stood up suddenly and walked out. You heard a huff and then heavy footsteps, following closely behind you.
"Y/n, it is for your own good." He grabbed your arm to slow your walking. You twisted round to see his face and Neteyam saw the anger burning away in your eyes. "Go back." You simply told him, your feelings were prominent in your voice. Your eyes fluttered from his face to his family's hut. With a heavy sigh and a look on his face that could only be frustration, he turned and walked back to join his family.
The day passed excruciatingly slowly. The war party left and Neteyam didn't bother coming to say goodbye like he always does, fearing that it may result in another outburst. You sat with Tuk, letting her play with your hair. She was such an innocent soul, you couldn't help but feel a big sisterly bond with her. "Do you love my brother?" She asked from behind your head, playing gently with the beads in your braids.
You laughed gently, turning around and placing her on your lap, "Yes I do, Tuk-tuk." She smiled at the answer and giggled when you tickled her lightly. "Well, Neteyam loves you a lot too." She told you, looking up at you with big wonderful eyes.
You faked a gasp and said, "He does!" Tuk rolled her eyes and laughed. Sitting in silence for a moment, you got an idea. Albeit an idea that would get you into a lot of trouble with Neteyam but you didn't care, you needed to prove to him that you weren't a fragile little girl.
You gave Tuk a kiss on the head and said, "I've got to go do something, sweet. Go find Lo'ak and Kiri." She nodded and jumped up, skipping away.
You moved quietly to your Ikran, saddling her up and patting her neck, "Mawey. Mawey." You took straight into flight, knowing exactly where you were going.
NETEYAMS POV
The war party were struggling to puncture the sky people's defence. The second we'd punch a hole, more gunships would arrive. I was beginning to think this mission was a dead end. The sky was beginning to darken, we'd have to fall back soon. Orange painted the sky as we swiftly ran out of time.
Sky people were falling in, we were taking losses left and right. I felt my heart drumming against my chest, yelling at me to urge my father to fall back. The wind battered and howled sharing the same feeling. A gunship closed in on me, I circled it avoiding the shots. My Ikran was uneasy, flooded with her natural instinct to fly from the danger.
A familiar Ikran screech made my thudding heart drop to my stomach. No she didn't, she's not that stupid. I thought. A growl sounded from somewhere in my throat as I looked up to see the one thing I didn't want to see. Y/n fired an arrow through the glass shield of a gunship that was tagging behind her. I closed my eyes and opened them, telling my Ikran to go towards her.
"I told you to stay home! Why don't you ever do as you're fucking told!" I shouted, explosions and gun firing was too loud around us. She hissed, "I didn't listen. You don't fucking own me, Neteyam!"
I ignored that comment, biting the inside of my cheek to keep the words threatening to spill from coming out. My jaw locked harshly and I swallowed thickly, trying to calm myself.
The sky was now black, stars twinkled down at us. We were told to fall back and I whistled at Y/n to get her to follow me. We diverted from the group, flying over forest that rustled beneath us. I found an opening and landed, Y/n following behind.
I didn't say a word to her until I got a fire started, I could tell she was angry. She shared similar features to my mother when she was angry. I'd had enough of it. The fire I had made crackled and cast a glow onto the two of us.
Y/n leaned against her Ikran, her tail flicking and hitting the ground every so often. Her eyes were low and her ears pinned back on her head. Her perfect mouth was pursed as she looked only at the flames. "I am trying to protect you, Y/n. I almost lost you the last time. And you are only making it harder." I told her, she refused to make eye contact with me.
"It is not your place." Her voice was low and quite calm for the anger washing in her eyes. I frowned at her, "How is not my place? I'm your mate, you are my responsibility! God you're impossible." I leaned my head against my arm that was resting on a tree branch.
"I'm impossible? Me? Really Neteyam. I feel like I haven't been able to breathe since that incident! You're suffocating me! You treat me like I'm a little girl. I saved your life that day remember. Fucking hell, I'm not fragile!" Her voice dripped with menace, every word brought her a step closer to me. I could feel the heat of her anger from where she was standing. I looked at her darkly. "You haven't even fucked me like you used to since that happened! Are you scared you're gonna break me or something? You know what, break me! Fucking do it Neteyam. Prove me wrong please!" She was so close to my face now.
Was it wrong that I was so hard for her right now? I've never seen her burst like this, it was unbelievably sexy. My tongue brushed my bottom lip as I looked at her. "Fuck it." I muttered, grabbing her face roughly and pulling her lips to mine.
YOUR POV
Neteyam's lips were soft and desperate, despite his clear angry state. The kiss was passionate and hot, he hadn't kissed you like this since the incident. His teeth caught your bottom lip, releasing a whimper from you. His eyes were hungry as were his hands. They gripped your hips and pushed you back into a nearby tree, exploring your body like it was his first time touching it.
Your hands found the back of his neck, desperately pulling him closer to you but there was absolutely no space to fill between you. Neteyam pulled away from your lips and started down your jaw and neck. You panted, catching your breath. You whined as you felt the heat between your legs grow. Neteyam nipped at your neck. His hands had moved to your ripe breasts, undoing your top and tossing it into the grass. Trying to find it later would be fun.
Neteyam moved you so you were straddling him on the floor as he leaned against the trunk of the tree. He instantly latched onto your breasts, kissing, sucking, biting. You felt his huge bulge through his loincloth, you bucked your hips against it, desperate for some friction.
"Patient." He growled, gripping your waist forcing you to stop. Neteyam shuddered discretly as he felt the wetness of your slit through your loincloth.
"Teyam please." You breathed. Neteyam grabbed your braid, containing your tsaheylu, you yelped in pain. "You wanted this, tìyawn." He watched you in amusement, bucking and whining for some attention.
His fingers grazed your clit causing a sudden jolt of pleasure flood you. You yelped and he smiled, "Is this what you wanted baby?" He cooed in your ear, pulling at your braid. The pleasure and pain was driving you crazy.
You nodded frantically, biting your bottom lip. Neteyam removed his fingers. You groaned. "Fucking earn it then." Your hands shot to the strings of his loincloth, hastily untying them.
"You know what to do, tìyawn." He revelled in your submissiveness. His cock sprung out, slapping his stomach. You eyed all 14 pulsing inches, desperate for them to be in you.
Neteyam had an extremely sensitive tip and you used that to your advantage. You licked the oozing pre-cum and sucked lightly just on the tip, looking up at your boyfriend through thick eyelashes. The rise and fall of his chest was increasing by the second. One thing you loved about Neteyam was he wasn't ashamed to show his feelings during sex.
He closed his eyes in bliss, catching onto your intentions. "You're unbelievable. Suck properly now." He grasped your braid once again, and you did as you were told taking as much as you could into your mouth.
You gagged and choked as you forced him down your throat, bobbing up and down. Your eyes stung and streamed as he pulsed down your throat. You relied completely on your nose to supply you air. "Oh fuck." He threw his head back against the tree trunk. Your gagging always drove him crazy, he just wanted to grab your head and fuck your throat relentlessly. Your words flashed through his mind, "You know what, break me!"
He growled and grabbed your head, pumping into your throat watching blissfully as he reached new lengths, your desperate eyes, beautiful gagging and your plump breasts only egged him on. He could feel his release on the way.
"Fuck, Y/n. You're such a good girl, you're taking me so fucking well." He groaned and you whimpered around his cock. The vibrations tipped him over the edge, he shot his thick seed deep down your throat giving you no choice but to swallow it.
He pumped lightly, making sure you got every drop of his cum before he took himself out of your mouth. You gasped and coughed but a smile found your lips. "Well done, my girl." His thumb brushed your lips.
He wrapped your legs around his back and flipped you so your back was against the grass and he towered over you. He gave you a sly smile and snaked down your body leaving wet kisses as he travelled down, the heat was radiating from your loincloth and Neteyam could see the soaked fabric. Your breathing picked up as he got closer.
Neteyam practically ripped your loincloth off you when he finally reached it. He sucked in a breath as he saw your perfect pussy oozing slick. "Damn baby, all wet for me already?" He watched your mouth drop open as he circled your clit lightly with his thumb.
Neteyam smiled at how such little pressure can make you go absolutely feral. "Mawey. I'm done teasing."
Neteyam started gently but the taste of you on his tongue made him want more. You moaned and squirmed into the humid night air.
Your hips bucked begging for more. You couldn't help it, completely enveloped in pleasure. Neteyam slipped his tongue into you and brought his fingers up to your clit. "Oh Neteyam." You moaned, a familiar knot forming deep in your stomach.
Neteyam kept his eyes on you the whole time, watching how you reacted. His tongue was ruthless as were his fingers. Your nerves were electric and your legs were beginning to tremble. Neteyam moved his tongue to your swollen clit and pushed two of his fingers into you, releasing a gasp.
Neteyam knew where your sweet spot was like the back of his hand. He curled his fingers, grazing your sweet spot deliciously as he pumped his fingers. Your moans got louder and your back arched, telling him you were close.
"Fuck, fuck! Neteyam I'm gonna cum!" Your voice was full of bliss, it practically dripped with it. "You gonna cum on my fingers baby?" He asked, kissing the delicate skin on the inside of your thighs. He bit them lightly and you whined feeling your orgasm on its way.
"Neteyam! I'm coming!" You cried as your orgasm unleashed. You let out involuntary sounds as a wave of pleasure washed over you and your legs shook. Neteyam pumped his fingers, riding you through your high. When the moaning had stopped, he removed his fingers sucking the delicious liquid from one finger and forcing your mouth open and slipping the other into your mouth.
"Suck it off. That's a good girl. You taste so good don't you." You sucked your own juices from his finger and he leaned down to plant a strong kiss on your lips.
Neteyam forced you up on all fours and you arched your back naturally, leaving your pussy open to him. Neteyam gulped at sight of you, so submissive beneath you. Your pussy was begging to be stuffed.
"Oh you're so good, Y/n." He groaned, kissing the back of your neck, taking in your natural scent. The tip of his throbbing cock lined with your entrance and brushed against it gently. Your slick covered his cock, making his thrust into you easy.
Neteyam watched as all 14 inches of his cock disappeared into you, only his knot remained. You let out a cry due to the power of that one thrust. You could feel his tip just brushing your soft spot, so close but yet so far from your cervix. Neteyam left you no time to adjust or get over that one thrust. He instantly found a relentless rhythm, pounding into you as you moaned and cried under him.
"Oh, oh, fuck! N-Neteyam!" You cried. Neteyam groaned and threw his head back, holding you firmly by the hips. Neteyam slapped your ass so hard the sound echoed in the secluded clearing.
The sudden pain caused you to jolt, a handprint swiftly burning into your ass cheek. Neteyam grinned at the seductive moan that rolled off your tongue in response. "Like that do you?" He groaned, feeling your pussy walls clench around his cock.
Neteyam was hitting your sweet spot flawlessly, you were going feral underneath him. "I'm going to give you my fucking knot, and you're going to take it okay, little one." Neteyam growled. You couldn't respond, your voice was lost being replaced only by your moans.
"Yes, yes! Please Neteyam, give it to me!" You begged, all dignity gone. Neteyam pushed half of his knot in, your pussy swallowed it but you cried desperately. His knot was much bigger then the rest of his cock. You didn't want to know how wide it was, it was stretching you so ruthlessly you felt like you were gonna tear.
You quickly felt your orgasm approaching as Neteyam pushed the last half of his knot into you. "FUCK!" You cried, Neteyam was rocking into you as his knot swelled by the second.
Your legs began to tremble and your eyes rolled back as his tip punctured your cervix, hitting new depths. Neteyam leaned over you, biting your shoulder and piercing your skin with his fangs as a way to channel his pleasure.
"Oh God Neteyam! I'm gonna fucking cum!" Your hands clenched at the grass beneath you, every thrust felt like ecstasy for you.
Neteyam released your shoulder and pulled at your hair, edging you closer to your orgasm. "Cum with me baby." Neteyam urged you. You screamed out as that knot quickly unravelled quickly giving you the sweet release of your orgasm which made you convulse violently under Neteyam as he groaned and dug his fingers deeper into your skin as he released into you, painting you with his cum. He rocked into you as your pussy clenched with your orgasm, forcing every drop out of him.
"Fuck Y/n." He groaned as you rode out your highs together. The thrusts slowed and you collapsed to the grassy floor with exhaustion. Neteyam had no choice but to remain in you until his knot would allow him to pull out.
He carefully picked you up and brought you into his chest. You could feel his panting heart against your head, desperate to get his breath back. Your legs twitched and Neteyam wrapped his arms around you.
He kissed your head lightly, breathing deeply. "I love you, tìyawn." He muttered. You hummed and buried yourself into the crook of his neck, "I love you too, Ma Neteyam."
"I'm sorry about how protective I've been lately. I'm just so scared if losing you. I think you getting shot just brought the idea that it's so easy for something to go wrong back to me. It terrified me." His fingers circled the bullet scars on the side of your stomach. "It was never my place to stop you joining us. You're a great warrior. We're lucky to have you." One of his hands rubbed your back.
"I forgive you, my love." You told him, lifting a weight from his shoulders. "I think you're just so jealous of my skills." You giggled and Neteyam rolled his eyes playfully.
"Oh yea so jealous, my girl." He laughed.
Everything was perfect again. The gap between you and Neteyam was filled. You fell asleep in the forest that night, so happy to just be with him under the stars again.

And it took me until now, AN HOUR AFTER I FIRST SAW THE POST, to realize that you meant Polish as in polishing…. I seriously believed you were just gonna translate the entire UI into the language Polish and I didn’t bat a single eye I was like “Hm yep that’s just a thing that happens during game development amazing work Robobarbie and dev team 👏👏”, in my defence I had just woken up from a nap when this happened-

Your POV
It has been three days since the threat came in. I told my friends already, and they were going into protection mode, even though half of them would run if a mouse got within ten feet of them.
We normally had two bodyguards around the house at all times and now one of them was assigned to me, to protect me wherever I went.
He is pretty chill though, he just hangs around in the teachers area and I have a scare button on me, so if something happens, he will be with me in a minute.
When I’m in the park with friends, he is just hanging around, hidden in plain sight probably. My dad had decided to not make it obvious where my guard was and how our schedule worked, it’s easy to plan around that.
But currently, I was in school, talking with my friends at my locker, mostly mocking Charlie and Flora who had been all lovey dovey the night before at a hang out.
“We weren’t like that!” Flora laughed as me and James where fake flirting with each other and I raised my eyebrows at her. “Oh, you are right, you where more like this,”
I grabbed James by the collar and let myself fall back against the lockers, his face close to mine. I laid a hand on his upper arm and the other dramatically on my forehead.
“Oh Charlie, you are so amazing and hot,” I said with closed eyes making my friends laugh as Charlie sarcastically let out a ‘haha’ before telling me to stop.
James grinned and immediately went along, putting one hand on my waist and the other cupping my cheek.
“Oh Flora, you look so good, I can just kiss you all night,” he said and we both laughed as the couple tried to shush us in embarrassment as the others laughed with us.
“Charlie, Lets get out of here and leave these losers, I only need you in my life,” I mocked again. Of course it wasn’t this bad at all, we just loved over exaggerating.
“Yes of course, everything for you my love.” He said trough laughs. I threw my head back against the locker, letting out a small yelp of pain making the others laugh even harder.
“Charlie, lets-” I tried to talk but laughed, making me start over. “Let’s run away and leave everyone behind, we only need each other,” I said dramatically, putting one hand on his cheek and James immediately saw where I was going with it.
“Oh yes, you are everything to me,” he said trough giggles. I then put my thumb on his lips and we both leaned in, pressing our lips against my thumb and Charlie then pulled James away.
“Okay, that’s enough, that’s enough.” He said and we laughed at his red face. I cleaned my thumb with my sleeve and then leaned against James for support to keep myself standing.
He was my best friend since before we even started school. Our parents where friends and we where the very start of our friend group.
Millie joined us in kindergarten and in middleschool we met Luna and at the end of middle school, the twins where the new kids and we also adopted them in our group.
Charlie joined at the start of high school and last year he started dating Flora who we immediately accepted.
When the bell rang, we bid each other goodbye and broke up in a group of two, heading to our classes.
Lloyd POV
I had not received anything from Y/n since our hang out. Of course, I could’ve reached out too but the mission I had that I was called in for when we where hanging out, had been long and tiring.
It had kept me busy as we also still needed to handle things after the happenings. When it was done I had slept for about ten hours before being woken by Kai.
“Lloyd, I’m sorry, but everyone else is busy and I really need to go now to meet up with Skylor because I forgot our date and I have no one to cover my self defence classes.” I had groggily sat up and sighed.
“Yeah, fine, go. I’ll cover for you,” I yawned.
I already regretted going, because when I turned a certain corner, I saw Y/n leaned back against the locker, flirting with a guy before pulling him in and kissing him right on the lips.
I had walked on with clenched teeth and taught the first self defence class of the day. I had hoped to have Y/n in my class that day but was actually relieved when I found out I did not.
I walked home moping, kicking rocks on my way and muttering cuss words as I went.
As I entered the monastery and headed to the kitchen, I was met with Kai and Cole who where arguing about who could get the last piece of cake.
“Jeez, what happened to you? Where you floored by a student?” Kai joked and I looked up in a small haze. “What? Oh, no its nothing, I’m fine.” I said, walking past them to grab something from the fridge.
“If you say so, kid, but if you need advise, we’re right here.” Cole said and I gave him a smile before it fell and I headed for my room.
As I drank my soda, I decided that maybe I should train to get my mind of her, when my phone rang.
Incoming call from ‘my personal trouble maker’
I was about to hang up but stopped myself. No, I was being a dick. I ignored her already a few days ago, and now because I saw her kiss someone I was going to stop talking to her?
That was unfair, just because I liked her, didn’t mean she had to like me back and couldn’t date or kiss other people.
I took the call and pressed the phone against my ear.
“Hey,” I said and she chuckled on the other side. “Lloyd! Jeez, took you long enough, listen, I have so many things to tell you!” She said and it sounded like she was jumping up and down?
“Hm, is that so?” I asked a bit bored and she stopped her giggling. “Are you alright?” She suddenly asked worried and I cursed myself mentally.
“Oh, I’m sorry, I’m a bit tired, but do tell me,” I apologised and I could just feel her grin from the other side of the line.
Your POV
“Alright, so first of, sorry for not texting a lot has happened, I was threatened with a note or something? Well they where threatening my father with kidnapping me, but that was just a bit vague, though it brought lots of worry to my parents.” I started of, pretty excited to tell him the story.
“But anyway, now I have a bodyguard who follows me to the places I go which is cool I guess. Police are still figuring out what’s going on and all that sort of stuff.” I said and I could hear him splutter on the other side of the line.
“I’m sorry what? You where threatened with a note?” He asked in disbelief, worry in his voice. “Yeah, but it’ll be fine, the police will track them down in no time,” I reassured, even though that was never said by anyone, I just didn’t want him to worry.
“Wait but a bodyguard follows you around?” He asked and I chuckled. “Yeah, pretty cool, huh?” I asked and I heard silence on the other end.
“Wait but- you didn’t have a bodyguard with you today?” He said and I furrowed my brows. “Excuse me?” I asked and he stuttered on the other end.
“That’s sounds weird, sorry. I saw you at school, I covered Kai’s classes again.” He quickly explained. “They will stop next month, did you know that?” He said as if trying to change the topic.
“Why didn’t you come and say hi?” I asked, a bit disappointed at a missed chance to see him. I heard an unexpected huff on the other end of the line, making my brows furrow.
“You seemed busy,” he said rather bitterly and I was silent for a moment in confusion. “With what? What’s wrong?” I asked and it was now his turn to be silent.
“I saw you kissing someone, I thought I’d let you be,” he finally said and I cracked my brains. I kissed someoene today? Who did I kiss? What happened- ohh, James!
“Oh come on, that was just James, we where joking to piss of the couple of our group by fake flirting, my thumb was between that kiss,” I said with a laugh and I could hear him swallow on the other end.
“Really?” He asked a bit sceptical and I was about to answer before stopping. “Lloyd Garmadon, are you jealous!” I called him out and he stuttered on the other end.
“Oh piss of,” he said and I could basically hear his smirk. This boy is going to be the death of me.
I shook my head with a sigh. “If you’re so jealous, you can take me on a date if that’ll make you feel better,” I said and he chuckled on the other end.
“Are you asking me for a date?” He said and I grinned. “Actually, I’m asking me for a date so you don’t have to.” I said and he laughed.
“Alright then, I can see you tomorrow at the same restaurant we went to Monday?” He asked and a giddy smile spread across my face. “Yes! Yes I can’t wait,” I said, embarrassing myself with my over excitement.
“See you then,” he said and I quickly bid him goodbye.
When we hung up, I let myself fall onto the bed and kicked my feet in the air out of happiness. I had a date- of course I had had those before, but I had never developed such a huge crush on someone in such a short time.
I think I could call this the first time I ever had such a big crush.
I quickly called my girls and they did waste time in coming over.
“Damn, your security isn’t joking, we had to do a weapon check at your front door.” Luna said and I chuckled. “Yeah, dad is worried for everyone now, but it’s just basic procedure, it’s not like you are suspect or anything.
“Hmm, does you bodyguard know that? If looks could kill, I swear,” Flora asked and I shrugged. “Both our guards are high on edge since the threats started,” I said and Luna interrupted me.
“Hold one, threats? As in plural?” She asked worried. “Oh I forgot to tell you? Yeah another one arrived, but it didn’t have anything about me in it, so yeah,” I said and they bombarded me with questions… which I couldn’t answer.
“Hey, they barely tell me anything, it’s real unfair, you know?” I said and it was silent for a moment, but Amelia decided to wash away the bad news.
“Well, fuck that! Girl you have a date! Come, we need to find you some decent looking clothes,” she said and I scoffed at her. “You make it sound like I am not wearing decent clothes.” I said and she looked me up and down before shrugging.
“Hey! What is that supposed to mean? Millie!” She walked towards my closet ignoring me and Luna and Flora laughed at us.
I was trying in an outfit and they where judging if it was alright to wear while we made sma talk.
“But, didn’t you just met Lloyd?” Luna asked as she made a gesture to me to turn around, which I did.
“Well, it’s already been over two months, and like- the whole time we hang out it’s just constant flirting, it’s about time we go on a real date,” I said, looking in the mirror I was facing to check out the outfit.
“Jeez, it’s already been two months?” Amelia asked, dismissing the outfit and looking for a new one in my closet with the help of Flora.
“We should really go skating again soon, I mean it is October, then it’ll be more dangerous because everything is wet!” Luna said excitedly. She was one of those people always looking for danger and trouble.
“Here, try this,” Amelia shoved some clothes into my hands before her and Flora sat back down. “Honestly, I started skating around December and that was just scary, I only got better over the summer, now my progress will be gone again,” Flora complained.
We went on like that until we finally found a good outfit for me to wear to my date.
The next day, I was driven by my bodyguard who would be waiting for me in the car.
“Awe come on, Malcolm, you’re not giving me anything to work with,” I slumbered in the back seat as I was trying to pry information from my bodyguard.
“N/n, you know your father gave me orders not to tell you anything,” he chuckled and I threw my hands in the air. “Still! It’s unfair how I’m kept in the dark while I’m also being threatened,” I said and he shrugged.
“I understand that you might feel that way, but I was given orders, which I have to follow,” he said and I grumbled some cuss words.
“Language,” he said and I gave him a look. “Hey, your my bodyguard, not my babysitter,” I said making him grin slightly.
He had been working for my family since before I was born, I’ve known him all my life, he is basically like some sort of uncle.
He stopped in front of the restaurant and looked at me trough the rearview mirror. “Did you you need me to open your door aswel, madam?” I asked with a chique accent.
“I can do that myself, thank you very much,” I laughed, making him smile. “No funny business in there, alright?” He said and I gave him a look. “Don’t you be like that,” I said and stepped out of the car.
Lloyd was waiting for me at the entrance and gave me a smile when I came walking up.
“Don’t you look stunning,” he winked and I chuckled and rolled my eyes slightly. “You look great yourself, who helped you?” I interrogated and he rose his eyebrows in a cocky manner.
“Who says I haven’t decided on clothes myself?” He asked and I gave him a look. “Yeah, no I wouldn’t believe it either. Nya helped me,” he confessed and I smiled.
“Doesn’t surprise me one bit,” I said, before we headed inside of the restaurant. We where sat down at a table and given menu’s.
I didn’t even have to look at it, having already decided I would have the same as last time. He looked, before deciding to go with the carbonara.
When the waiter stopped by, we ordered and he took out menu’s again.
“You where driven here, I saw?” Lloyd said and I shrugged. “I wasn’t allowed to go by myself, but Malcolm will leave us alone, he’s just here for his guarding duties,” I said.
“I wasn’t worried,” Lloyd winked and I gave him a light kick under the table making him smirk.
The conversation carried on, we had a beautiful spot at the window and suddenly the conversation changed to space.
I was fascinated by some of his knowledge and happily talked along, being a huge astronomy fan.
“Don’t you find it weird that every moon as a name except ours?” Lloyd asked and I gave him an offended look, catching him of guard.
“Excuse me- her name is Yue and she is a kind, gentle, loving, lady!” I said and he gave me a weird look before a grin spread across his face.
“Was that an avatar reference?” He asked and I nodded with a huge smile at finding out he knew the show.
The remaining of the date went amazing, it wasn’t your normal date where you have awkward silences and weird questions, no it was fun and genuine.
We fought over who would pay the bill and had a good compromise.
“Alright, how about this. I pay now and you can pay for the next date,” Lloyd suggested and I smirked. “Ohh, is there going to be a next date?” I leaned on my hands, looking into his.
“Well, only if you want of course!” He quickly said, scratching the back of his head awkwardly and I chuckled. “Of course, yes sounds fun, I’ll be taking you to the most luxurious restaurant in town,” I said and he gave me a look.
“Or just a noodle house, whatever you prefer,” I waved my hand and he chuckled before waving over our waiter so he could pay.
After he had paid, we put on our coats and headed outside.
“Thanks for tonight, I had a lot of fun,” I smiled at him, tilting my head slightly to the side. “I had fun to, thank you to making me ask you out,” he said making me laugh.
“I’ll see you another time then?” I asked and he nodded. “Definitely!” He assured.
I hesitated for a moment before standing on my toes and kissing his cheek. His mouth fell slightly agape and his cheeks dusted pink. Mine did aswel and I took a small step back.
“Hey! What did I say? No funny business!” We looked at my bodyguard who had opened the car window.
“Fuck off Malcolm!” I yelled and he grinned as I shook my head. “I’ll catch ya later!” I said and darted towards the car.
When I closed the door and then the window, I glared at the man next to me. “Was that necessary?” I interrogated and he smirked. “Definitely, I told you no funny business,” he said and I grumbled as we drove off.
I was half asleep as we made our way home and woke up with a start when the car came to a sudden stop.
“What is that idiot doing?” Malcolm questioned and I sat up straight to watch.
There was a man on the road. He had a black coat and was wearing a hat, I couldn’t see his face and he walked over to the car.
Not wasting a second, Malcolm locked the doors from the outside and I saw his hand itch to his belt where he held a gun.
The stranger was at the front of the car and laid something on the hood of the car before running off. Neither of us saw what he had laid down and Malcolm unbuckled his belt.
“Stay in the car and I if say you have to exit you do so immediately,” he told me and jumped out of the car to see what the strange man had left.
He looked at it and his eyes narrowed. He dug in his pocket and took out a pair of plastic gloves which he put on.
He picked it up and- it was a note? Again?
He entered the car again and didn’t say anything, I looked at him but he didn’t look back at me.
“What does it say?” I asked, my voice shaking. “It’s another threat- god damnit I should’ve gotten out of the car,” he sighed and I shook my head.
“No, we don’t know what that guy had on him,” I disagreed and tried peaking at the note. With a sigh, Malcolm held it up to me.
Bold are you?
This is your last warning, if you don’t cut it out, you’ll never see your precious daughter again. And don’t think we are bluffing. I have eyes on her as I write this, and that bodyguard outside in the car isn’t going to do much.
My heart started beating faster. They had watched me as I was on my date with Lloyd…
When we got home, Malcolm immediately headed for my dad and I was ushered upstairs, being told to stay in my room and lock my window.
This was so stupid!
