princess tutu re-watch, episode 26
-Mytho and the raven face off in the final showdown. Mytho summons a sea of cherry blossoms (rose petals?) and ascends to the heavens! -Raven: impressive, but you've forgotten that my crow-people can fly! After him! -the crows try to peck Mytho to death! Meanwhile, Ahiru is struggling to stay afloat in the petal sea… -Crows: Hey, let's play 'toss the duck'! -Mytho is horrified at watching a tiny creature suffer. So is Fakir. -Autor, of all people, has to give Fakir a pep talk, aka "just shut up and write". -Autor: oh, shit, the bookman cometh, gtf inside! -Mytho is forced to use his sword as a shield, which is not an efficient form of defense, but this is how ballet combat works. -Drosselmeyer: That's right, this is a tragedy! Why? [pause to catch his breath from laughing] Fuck all if I know. -The book man is now battering Autor's door down with an axe to get at Fakir: "I WON'T LET YOU LEAD THE STORY TO TRAGEDY!" -Fakir: "I'm doing my best to STOP it!" -Mytho: okay, fine, I'll split my heart again to seal you, raven--but I'll come back, kill you, and join my princess in heaven! -Ahiru: QUACK QUACK QUACK! (I OBJECT!) -the moment where she does ballet in duck form kicks me in the heart every single time, it's so beautiful -meanwhile, Rue is doing "The Dying Swan" in a desert with an army of skeleton back-up dancers -Drosselmeyer: Finally, someone who understood the assignment--to die while looking good! -Ahiru: Good thing dance is a universal language! Let's go, crow people! -Fakir: THAT'S MY GIRL! -meanwhile, Autor is throwing furniture in front of the door to keep the crazed guy with the axe from breaking in. -unfortunately, the game of 'toss the duck' resumes -the book man is mad that all his friends turned into crows and now he wants revenge! -Okay, I will admit I have given Autor a hard time on this rewatch and I love to mock him, but he redeems himself for putting himself -between Fakir and and the guy with an axe trying to murder him and together Ahiru and Fakir make "hope" and it saves everyone. -Drosselmeyer (falling out of his chair): Hope? I don't know her! -Mytho's real name is Siegfried, because of course it is -Mytho: Hey, Rue, how would you like to punch your terrible kidnapper in the face? -They do and it's awesome. -turns out the story-machine is in the clock tower, Fakir just snaps it into pieces, lololol. -Mytho asks Rue to be his princess and she tells him she's corrupted with crow blood, and he's like, "oh, yeah, I am too, don't worry about it". -Mytho: wait, what did I say that made you cry? That's FAKIR's job. -Fakir: Idiot (affectionate). -Mytho and Rue have an apotheosis involving a carriage pulled by swans and leave town to go back to their story, and everything goes back to the way it was before. -You'd think that Drosselmeyer would have snapped out of existence, but NOOOOO he suffered no consequences and learned nothing from the experience. -Drosselemyer: Existential angst? Forget it, I do what I want. -He and Uzura depart for another narrative to haunt, which raises all kinds of questions, actually! -meanwhile, Fakir sits on the dock, "fishing" while Ahiru bobs on the lake nearby. The narrator (who is still around!!!) waxes poetic. The end.
-There is NO RESOLUTION to what happened with the bookmen, I feel like they at least owe Fakir an apology. -On the one hand, this ending is perfect and I would change nothing. On the other hand, it is deeply unsatisfying. I believe the creators did this on purpose, and I salute them for it. More on this later once I've had a chance to further reflect.

exchange of roses, intro 2: what's a bit of risk?
host club! jjk x fem! reader x ohshc
intro details the two clubs need to settle the terms, but someone decides to take the stakes of this competition too seriously
gojo satoru is the head of jujutsu technology academy's elite high school host club with his friends: geto suguru, nanami kento, itadori sukuna, shoko ieiri, haibara yu, and of course, their princess manager. what happens when they go up against another elite host club in an exchange event with different schools? let's find out!
"you guys just couldn't say no, we can be going through this exchange event for fun," (y/n) groaned, stretching her arms, intentionally whacking satoru, who was behind her, in the face.
"hmph. watch your arms, lady manager," he aggressively poked her waist that was wide open as she stretched, earning a scowl with her fiery eyes. satoru just sheepishly whistled, acting innocent. "besides, who says it's not fun? it's way more fun if we single out a team."
"i agree, there's nothing more fun than playing dodgeball with competitive intent to throw at full speed," sukuna mentioned oh so casually, as if he beats people up on regular basis. he doesn't but one look from him can for sure kill.
"can we not just play normally? just for the fun of it?" (y/n) questioned.
"no." they (except for kento and ieiri) said in unison.
"yu, come on, you're on their side?" (y/n) groaned once more, he always on her side.
he shrugged as he snacked on his freebies, "it'll be fun. having a competitive spirit lets us team up together as one!"
"yes, that's right, yu. i promise we'll behave," suguru assured, more so attempted to, knowing that his promises such as these were empty to (y/n). during the last summer camp with different schools, sukuna, satoru, and suguru each given a student a concussion in a dodgeball game, in which their defense, they should have ducked or caught it. the amount of compensation and apologies (y/n) had to do was astronomical.
"if it weren't for who your parents are, we would have all been toast, anyways, here's music room 3. please behave and remember the information i said about each host," she glared at each of them (aka triple s).
she opened the door to the music room, bright lights came to be, rose petals flying towards them with violins heard in the background.
"welcom-"
"oh, it's just you guys," a pair of disgusted voices said. it was coming from those orange-haired twins (the hitachiin twins according to her own research).
"show some respect, men. there are still ladies in their club," tamaki said. he somehow appeared in front of them at the entrance, bowing in front of ieiri and (y/n) to offer them his white roses. "for you, my ladies."
the two females just exchanged a look and shrugging before reaching out for a rose. it was harmless until, sukuna and suguru decided to snatch them, casuing tamaki to gasp.
"hey, suguru, that's mine," ieiri reached out for the flower, but suguru was dangling it too far up, teasing her almost letting her grab it only to take the opportunity away.
(y/n) didn't even get a chance to argue for hers. if it was sukuna to win against, forget it. however after he discarded the white rose, he handed her his signature flower, geranium. she pressed her lips together, but he managed to catch the massive side eye, "thanks, i guess."
"those flowers were for the ladies," tamaki cleared his throat, "anyways, we're here to discuss the terms of our competition."
the blonde snapped, out of nowhere, the red couches appeared. one for each club, and the coffee table separating them. he was already sitting in the middle, and the rest of his host club gathered in a strategical position, it seems. jujutsu academy's host club followed suit, the girls with yu take the couch, and the four stand in the back.
it's as if a tumbleweed can just past through the middle. both groups sat so close but felt like they were miles away.
based on (y/n)'s lecture of each member of the ouran host club after accepting the showdown (courtesy of some fan website), they were able to differentiate who is who, but as the world is small, some families have already worked together.
"to break the silence, i have made print outs of each club roster and through extensive research, i have added a brief family background and hobbies to add a fair ground," the glasses, which was ootori kyoya, placed a manila folder onto the coffee table. "as well as the events that will be taking place this week."
(y/n) liked this guy already: well prepared, does his research. she grabbed the folder, seeing that the events and its schedule were pasted on one side. she distributed the paper of the ouran members around, seeing in depth information. there were pictures, names, personality traits, and hobbies added onto the profile.
some of the members such as haninozuka mitsukini and morinozuka takashi were more on the athletic side. judo.. martial arts...
however, the rest of the members didn't have much information on them except traits. hitachiin twins, determined and conniving. haruhi, normal. tamaki, determined and obnoxious. kyoya, calculated.
based on the schedule, the days were as followed, tuesday and wednesday were athletic days, thursday was club specialty, and friday was a free day, ending with a gala at the end of the day (satoru already scheduled a fan meeting on friday morning).
in honesty, there was no point in this meeting as the entire exchange event is through point accumulation, and the winner would be announced after the events on thursday.
each team that signed up needed to participate in a maximum of four athletic events in the first day. however, they were also required to do the team athletic events the next day.
"we are all required to do volleyball and dodgeball. we will end up facing each other at least once. there are some overlaps with some events such as judo and martial arts," (y/n) started off, skipping around the paper, looking at the activities, "well, i guess, we can discuss with our groups of what events to do for 10 minutes and then reconvene afterwards."
she looked up to see the ouran host club, thinking as one, looking up as if there's a giant air thought bubble in the sky. once she turned to her group, they were doing the same. "hello?"
"ah yes yes, that sounds great. men, let's get to work," tamaki answered for the entirety of his group, but she knew that kyoya would be leading regardless.
"we have this. they technically have one and a half athletes, still not too sure about the munchkin over there. but, the only trouble might be how the tall one is a judo national champion," suguru commented, pointing at mori's image on the paper.
"are you underestimating my skills, geto?" sukuna (aka a kendo champion) questioned, obviously already feeling threatened.
"no, no, just pointing out a fact. we're not doubting your skills, kuna. just thinking about how you lost your last tournament," satoru (won one martial tournament and thinks he's hot shit) patted his pink-haired friend on the shoulder.
the loss wasn't devastating to sukuna in any way, he knew that the last call to where he lost was because the referee was paid to make the other the champion (they were the favored to win). sukuna shrugged off satoru's hand who only laughed at the former's expression.
"oh, let's do the 1600 meter relay," yu pointed at the words on the paper, in which (y/n) and ieiri gave him a thumbs up.
on the other side, tamaki and the twins were trying to attempt to enlarge his ear tenfold in order to eavesdrop on the other team.
"boss, the subjects seem to be laughing at us," hikaru and kaoru heard the hearty laugh of satoru.
"we don't have much athleticism in the host club except for mori-senpai and honey-senpai. outside of team events, we can't use the same pairing more than twice for each day," haruhi read one of the guidelines outloud before someone would be able to chime in to rely on the third years.
"we can do the relay race, with the running that we play games like daruma ga koronda, it'd be similar," kyoya recommended. the host club had started indulging in commoner activities recently.
"takashi and i can participate in the martial arts events!" honey munched on a piece of cake as he volunteered themselves to what their kouhais would be relying them on, in which mori nodded in agreement.
"thank you, honey-senpai, mori-senpai," tamaki cheered while kyoya marked the events off.
after 10 minutes passed, all of the hosts reconvened, allowing their spokespeople to communicate their chosen events. seeing that ouran was the home campus, they were at an understanding that they can choose who went first. however since the 'managers' were speaking, kyoya allowed (y/n) to speak first.
"we decided to choose martial arts, kendo, table tennis, relay race based on my team's penchant for competing," (y/n) listed the events. "and, it would allow you to leverage the third years."
"it seems that we all chose the same events, easy enough. the third day is which club has the best specialty. with the way the event is set up, it takes away the challenge of keeping points. whoever has the most points wins this little charade," kyoya said. so, he agrees. this entire competition was stupid.
"so what happens if you lose?" of course, sukuna would try to raise the stakes more than it needed to be.
"why, nothing of course, but having the title of the best host club," tamaki stated.
oh boy, here it comes.
"that's a little boring, don't you think?" sukuna questioned, a malicious smile curling onto his face. "what about this, whoever loses has to abolish their club."
"I agree it's more fun this way," suguru chimed in. however, he was little less than confident about the idea, buthe figured that someone needed to back up the idea to avoid the blow on sukuna.
it felt as if a lightning struck through the room. frozen expressions found their way to the entirety of the club (for the exception of nanami, mori, and kyoya), the worst being their club presidents.
"well, that isn't very fair," the twins moped with a tongue sticking out to sukuna, arms crossed.
kyoya has the assumption that sukuna knows that table tennis, martial arts and kendo can go either way, relays will go to jujutsu tech, but the bulk of points can be found in club specialties on day three. ouran has a home advantage due to the majority of the students attending this event would be their own students. there was a high chance of winning, and even if they lost, who's to say they couldn't just create another club with the same intentions.
and with the way their lady manager is thinking, she also knows this, too.
"we'll do it," kyoya answered for them, there was going to be little harm.
"kyoya, you can't just make decisions for the club," it was the first time the tone of their ouran president has changed into something more serious.
(y/n) nodded in agreement that they would indulge into sukuna's idea, holding her hand up for kyoya to initiate this 'contract.' with no going back, kyoya sealed the deal with a shake of their hands.
however with the way the rest of her club was silent, she was hoping that they all realized that there were truly no stakes involved. sukuna was known for provoking his rivals, it ran through his family, of course.
"I have deep trust that our manager understands the risks, and what's life without a bit of risk?" satoru asserted. at first, it did rattle him to hear his hard efforts would be at waste, but their advantage lies in the athletic department. they would just need to blow it out of the water for day 3.
with that, (y/n) stood up followed by ieiri and yu, she bowed to the ouran host club, "let the games begin."
we'll see you then!
extra:
"kuna, why did you have to do that to us?" satoru was shaking the pink-haired teen back and forth who just whistled.
"thought it would be more fun this way. the twins and their idiot king more than likely don't realize they have the competitive advantage between us," sukuna said, pushing his president away from him.
"even if we abolished, it's not like there won't be girls following us around. the host club is just formalities and for us to make some sort of extra profit," ieiri muttered as she twirled her hair.
"plus, me and nanami wouldn't have to work overtime upkeeping this club of yours," (y/n) pinched satoru's cheek in annoyance before continuing to walk.
"yeah, it's a busy season everyday here," nanami would be (is) the club's biggest hater, only because he had to exert more effort than he needed to.
"are you saying you hate being a host? that you hate this club?" satoru dramatically questioned.
"we'd be lying if we said no," (y/n) and nanami said, nonchalantly, in response satoru gave a hmph.
"but it's always fun times when we're all together, right?" yu came in between (y/n) and nanami, wrapping his arms around their necks. the two made a noise of agreement. being part of the host club was fun because despite serving guests, the time together prior and after club time was always well spent.
"let's just think of this time as another vacation. let's just play," suguru dragged ieiri and satoru in the same manner as yu did.
even if sukuna and satoru seemed to drag them into big messes everywhere they go, it was always a great time with jujutsu academy host club.
intro 2 completed.

Final Fantasy 7 prompts no. 30
1. Someone uses an ancient dark spellbook in an attempt to summon the old gods, but accedently summons Cloud Strife instead. Even funnier if this someone is Genesis.
You can't tell me he wouldn't sick Strife onto Sephiroth anyway.
(On the other hand It could be Reeve.)
2. Vincent proposing to Cloud in the most dramatically romantic way possible. It's probably gonna rain rose petals or he'll set off an entire set of geysers just to add to the atmosphere.
3. Cloud being the descendent of Cetra or people who have been infected by Jenova's taint in the past and survived, and that's why he was resistant to Reunion
4. Time traveler Sephiroth saving Cloud from normal Sephiroth in the remake and fighting him off. Cloud tries to sneak away since he's too weak to fight either of them off but is caught and captured by TTS.
5. AVALANCHE is a group of mermaids/ mermen that began sinking ships by clawing the hulls and killing the crews. Why? A whaling ship harpooned mer-Aerith and killed her but AVALANCHE can't tell the difference between boats, so they just attack all of them
Shinra sends it's Silver General to deal with the problem
6. AU Yuffie and Clouds first meeting:
Yuffie knew those eyes anywhere, after all, they were the mark of a SOLDIER. Monsters in human skin that would ruthlessly slaughter and destroy anything that stood in thier path only for a little gil. They had ravaged her kingdom, and as the crown princess of Wutai, she would have her revenge!
The little ninja launched herself at the hot blond, and screamed, "For Wutai!"
And punched him in the dick.
7. Sephiroth and Zack were leaning over the railing of the ship, watching the mythical creature below as it gave off an enchanting bioluminescent glow only enhanced by the soft veil of moonlight that filtered through the graying clouds above.
"I think the fish guy is flirting with you."
The silverette turned to glare at the energetic man, who was quick to throw his hands up in surrender, "I mean, isn't the glowy thing supposed to 'attract mates' or something?"
"And prey, so jumping in wouldn't be wise." The general said easily.
The blackette however, grinned, "I never said anything about 'jumping in'."
Sephiroth coughed into his fist, "I'll be in my quarters if you need me." Then turned and made his escape.
Zack turned back to the blond merman who had stilled the moment the general left, but remained glowing. "Sorry dude! He ran off!" He yelled, then jokingly added, "Will you settle for me?"
The wave of water that soaked him to the bone told him the answer was probably "No."
8. Cloud blows up at Genesis cause he won't shut up about that damn poem and Sephiroth is really smug and proud of his pupet until the blond blows up at him too.
9. Cloud got ruffied at the bar and wandered off, high as a kite and got found by Sephiroth, who is greatly amused by the situation and is letting the giggling blond play with his hair and talk to him. Eventually Cloud cuddled up to his side, and what he said next made Sephiroth pause.
"I wish you were always this nice."
10. Sephiroth is given a spell that can "defeat any enemy", or so the little woodland witch had claimed. He tests it out on Cloud and he was wholly unprepared for the result.
11. Cloud gets turned into an actual doll and Sephiroth has a freaking field day.
12. "Did you turn your boyfriend into a monster again?" The redhead drolled, bored out of his mind despite the discord surrounding him.
"No." The silverette replied calmly before placing another sheet of paper in the 'Done' pile. He largely ignored the troopers and SOLDIERS running in and out of his office in a panic unless they asked him a question. "Cloud is not my boyfriend."
Genesis snorted. "Sure, and I'm the Queen of Midgar."
"The Drama queen, perhaps." The general shot back.
The Crimson Commander laughed good naturedly, but whatever he was about to say was cut off by a thump at the window.
They both turned to see the head of a particularly large Nebil dragon staring back at them. "So he was turned into a monster again!" Genesis groosed.
Sephiroth pinched the bridge of his nose in exasperation. This was the third time he had been turned into a monster, and the second time he had been turned into this particular species.
"At least it's not a behemoth again, he went on a rampage last time." The commander commented while gathering the nessisery supplies to break the curse. Again.
"That probably had more to do with Zack Fair insinuating he was fat."
13. A!C! Cloud in CC except he gets dragged into being a 1st Class SOLDIER and lives in an apartment literally across the hall from Sephiroths. Genesis of all people dragged him into thier weekly game night to "learn more about him".
There's nothing like playing video games with your arch-nemesis, two strangers, and your dead best friend.
Then they played a board game called "Sorry" and he knew the universe was fucking with him when Sephiroth won.
14. Sephiroth is following Cloud around. Weirder still is that no one but Cloud can see or hear him. The former general isn't really doing anything, he just stands there and smirks...menacingly.
15. Genesis had been brought to his knees, not by force, but by laughter. Next to him stood Angeal and his puppy, wide eyed and pale from shock. After all, its not everyday you get to see a small blond man bitch slap the Demon of Wutai into a river with a fish.
In Clouds defense he was cornered and his sword had been knocked away from him by the silver general, submerging it in the river. He lunged into the water and just happened to grab the wrong thing.

the rophie rebuttal
well, here we are. i posted this to the website yesterday and i thought it was well-written so i’m posting it here too! tell me what you think :) and the website-speak starts... now!
hopefully this makes sense! please please please comment if you need me to clarify something. i worked for a long time on this rebuttal and it’s sort of all jumbled in my head. also, the quote used that doesn’t use page numbers in its citation was taken from an e-book because i didn’t have access to my paper copy at the time, but i still included the chapter number. sorry about that! this is a long one, and i hope you enjoy. again, please ask questions if you have them!
and here we begin.
rafal doesn’t understand sophie at all, and that (among other things) is why rophie is a terrible ship.
let’s draw attention to two passages describing what people think sophie feels. one by rafal, and one by agatha.
rafal’s will be the one evie quoted in her defense, just so i’m not putting words in anyone’s mouth:
“Because once upon a time, was just like you. I tried to love my brother. I tried to escape my fate. I even thought I’d found-” He caught himself. “But it only led to more pain, more evil. Just as every time you try to seek love, it leads you to the same. Your mother, your father, your best friend, your prince….the more you chase the light, the more darkness you find. And yet you still doubt your place in Evil. For thousands of years, Good gas told us what love is. Both you and I have tried to love in their way, only to suffer pain. But what if there’s a different kind of love? A darker love that turns pain into power. A love that can only be understood by the two people that share it. That’s why you held our kiss, Sophie. Because I see you for who you really are and love you for it when no one else can. Because what we’ve sacrificed for each other is beyond what Good can even fathom. It doesn’t matter if they don’t call it love. We know it is, just as we know the thorns are as much a part of the rose as the petals.”
but i’ve handpicked a few for you all to peruse for agatha:
“But it hasn’t killed us,” said Agatha calmly. “And the reason why is staring at us, crystal clear. I’ve been searching through Sophie’s memories, just like I have yours and mine. And the difference between Sophie’s memories and ours is that she wishes she’d done the right thing all those times she didn’t. She wishes she’d been Good again and again and again. That’s why she’s my friend. Because I know what’s in her heart, beneath all her mistakes. And this future here? To return to a boy she doesn’t love and destroy everything she’s been fighting for? To throw away the friendships she’s given her life to build? It’s the darkest kind of Evil. And that kind of Evil… That’s not Sophie.” She squeezed Sophie’s clammy hand. Sophie smeared away tears. Tedros tensed, veins straining against skin. “Agatha, if you’re wrong… imagine if you’re wrong…” “She’s not wrong,” Sophie rasped. “I swear on my own life. She’s not wrong.” – (Pages 420 – 421, A Crystal of Time)
and also:
“We chose each other, Sophie. We’re best friends.” Sophie looked away. “A princess and a witch can never be friends. Our story will forever prove that.” “No, our story proves a princess and a witch have to be friends. Because each of us has played both parts. That’s who we are. That’s why we’re us.” Sophie still couldn’t look at her. “All I ever wanted was love, Aggie,” she breathed, voice breaking. “All I ever wanted was a happy ending like yours.” “You already have one, Sophie. You’ve always had one.” Agatha smiled through tears. “With me.” – (Page 633, The Last Ever After)
when rafal talks to sophie, rafal says he understands her because they’ve gone through the same thing. he says everybody has abandoned him as well. everyone left him behind and he tells sophie she’s gone through the same. he tries to make her believe that nobody loves her but him (which is also a sign of a.buse). but the issue is, that’s not really true.
rafal has spent the entire book trying to make sophie believe that she is just like him. the entire reason she falls into the “depression” is because rafal has made her believe that he’s the only one she can count on. he lies to her and leads her back to him again and again. the whole reason for their “fracture in communication” that evie says ends their relationship is rafal. this is prominent especially in this quote:
“Not consciously, perhaps. But her soul spins towards Good the same way yours does towards Evil. Maybe she even thought in your heartbreak and anger at losing your prince, you’d turn your back on me too and destroy my ring. Good would have its perfect Ever After, clean and efficient, all because of a princess’s secret talent.” Sophie’s face calcified. “So she wanted me to end up alone.” “Indeed,” the young School Master smiled. (Chapter 26, The Last Ever After)
here, rafal is lying to sophie. he tells her that tedros doesn’t love her. but more importantly he tells her that agatha doesn’t love her. he says that agatha was just using her all along. the reason WHY sophie feels no remorse for her classmates, and no guilt or joy or happiness at all, is because rafal lied to her and told her the only person who she ever thought loved her actually hated her. so when you say the crack in their relationship is because of sophie’s depression, that’s not the entire truth. if you dig deeper, RAFAL is the cause of sophie’s depression and therefore the cracks in their relationship. he lied, and he faced the consequences.
on the other hand, agatha has proven again and again that she loves sophie for who she is. because sophie ISN’T AS EVIL AS SOMAN SAYS SHE IS.
bomb dropped, i know. let me explain. i’m going on a tangent and i don’t care.
as the first quote tells us, agatha (and us, the readers) have seen how time and time again sophie is willing to sacrifice everything for agatha. she let a fairy-tale life go for her in gavaldon, and she let agatha go with tedros so agatha could be happy. she even sacrificed her LIFE for agatha in the first book. and that’s not very… evil, is it?
we’re told that nicola is the one who is halfway between schools. but if i’m being honest, it seems like sophie fits that description more. if we look at the rules of good and evil, sophie has been both of them. she has helped and given for good, and she has punished and hurt with evil. so even though soman says she’s 100% evil, he’s proven over and over how it’s not really true. and agatha KNOWS this.
agatha defends sophie again and again because of what she said in a crystal of time. she knows sophie wants to be good. she knows sophie’s heart aches when she does something to hurt agatha. she loves agatha. she loves her so much she will do anything for agatha. and agatha understands her and loves her in return. all of her, because agatha knows the true sophie.
rafal doesn’t understand this at all. if rafal understood this he wouldn’t be so adamant on killing the only person that makes sophie truly happy. rafal says in the first quote that sophie is just like him. but it’s not true. sophie is not just like him. rafal wants to believe it, but the books prove that it’s not true. you may wonder what agatha has to do with all of this, and she’s really just brought up here for the comparison to rafal. when you say rafal understands sophie, he’s really just seeing what he wants to see and believing what he wants to believe. agatha is the only one who truly understands sophie, and it shows and is reciprocated.
rafal doesn’t understand that sophie loves agatha and will do anything to protect her, and that means he doesn’t understand sophie’s core motivations to do anything as a person. he doesn’t get that even though sophie’s heart is evil, she still has the capability, and more importantly, the DESIRE to do Good things. he just keeps going on and on about how similar they are because he’d do anything for a happy ending.
and the funny thing is, sophie would do anything for a happy ending too, including lose her life. but she’d do it for agatha, not for him. rafal doesn’t understand sophie at all.
also, other than the age difference (which is still important even if rafal acts and looks like a teenage boy despite them not having a described physical relationship), the other traits of abu.sive relationships that pop up over and over in rophie’s portrayal in the books were not mentioned or given a rebuttal at all. instead, you posted the traits of a “happy” relationship and gave evidence for that. even if they “trust each other” and “can be themselves around each other”, rafal still controls sophie, isolates her from her friends and threatens them, grabs her without permission, and harms the people she loves. i don’t know about you, but that sort of outweighs “trusting each other” to me. and he certainly didn’t trust her enough to go around the school herself or heal her own hand without his help.
rophie is, at its core, a bad, toxic ship.

The Wedding (Ralph x Kara) sfw fluff
You bitches already know... it's time for a goddamn wedding.
Edit: I missed an opportunity to say call this the 'weeding'.
-------
"Hold still." Luther grunted.
"I'm trying but you're pushing too hard." Kara sighed in frustration.
"There! Got it in." Luther pulled away to take a look at his work. He was Kara's choice for matron of honor/bridesmaid and while he wasn't thrilled about the duel roles, he was determined to help his friend look her best for her wedding.
The floral accessory he had snapped into her hair was being very difficult. Due to her hair length, it kept falling out or dangling. Kara moved her head from side to side, testing the waters. The clip fell to the floor again.
"Damn." they sighed at that. "Okay, I've got a plan B..." Luther turned back to the vanity and dug through the drawer, retrieving a simple but jeweled headband. He slid it onto Kara's head and felt more victorious than he should have. The headband held back any stray strands of hair and gave Kara an elegant look.
"Thank you, Luther. I'm glad you're here to help me. I would've just gone out without my hair done." Kara looked at herself in the mirror and smiled. She made the right choice, having him help her.
"Don't thank me yet, we still have to get you into your wedding dress." Luther offered her a hand as she stood. It took them a while since Luther preferred to have his eyes closed for decency, but they got the damn thing on.
"Stunning." Luther said, adjusting the dress in places. He eyed the box Kara had on her dresser. Her shoes were already out and she had her accessories, so what was in it? Luther crossed over to it and opened the lid to peek inside.
"You didn't-" he choked on air, silently laughing.
"I did." Kara plucked the garter from the box and rolled it up her leg.
"Wait don't pull your dress down yet." Luther shuffled around for his phone.
"What are you doing?" Kara asked suspiciously. Luther snapped a photo.
"Messing with your fiance." he shrugged.
---
Ralph buttoned up his shirt, zoning out as Jerry continued to babble. It wasn't that he didnt care, he just had more important things on his mind. Like what dress Kara picked out or if the wedding would go smoothly. He jumped when Jerry put his hand on his shoulder.
"You're just fumbling with your tie at this point." he shook his head, taking the tie Ralph had picked up without realizing. Jerry quickly tied it and adjusted it accordingly.
"Thank you, Jerry. Ralph is sorry- he is just very distracted right now. He wants Kara's wedding to be perfect." Ralph eyed himself in the mirror.
"Well I hate to be the one to tell you, but it's your wedding too, bud." Jerry chuckled, handing him his vest. Ralph halted mid-button when he heard his phone go off. He picked it up and checked the screen. A notification from Luther?
Ralph's face turned blue and he almost dropped his phone. Why? Why would Luther torture him like this? More importantly why was Luther taking pictures of his wife's- fiance's legs!? Ralph stared at the picture a moment longer and then shoved his phone into his pocket.
"Jerry, can you do Ralph a favor?"
"Of course, Ralph! Whatever you need, your best man is on the case!" And so, Ralph sent Jerry out on a mission to the other room.
--
Jerry opened the hotel room door and poked his head in. Luther was currently touching up Kara's makeup.
"You look like a princess!" Jerry gasped, stepping into the room. The pair looked at him in surprise.
"Boy, you're lucky I have the steadiest hands in the north Americas because if I had messed up this wing, it'd be on you." Luther set down the eyeliner and crossed his arms.
"Sorry, sorry. Ralph just wanted me to bring you these," he pulled a bouquet of flowers from behind his back, "and tell you he loves and misses you."
"Aw, thank you! But it's a bit scandalous to do this in front of the bride-" Luther surged forward and reached for the flowers.
"Wha- no! They're for Kara!" Jerry ducked under his arms.
"He knows, Jerry. Luther is just messing with you." Kara took the flowers. She handed them to Luther to put in a vase. "Why the sudden urge to send a messenger? Ralph could've just texted me or called."
"He seemed adamant that it was delivered in person. I think he just wanted to make sure you were alright." Jerry said. Luther started herding him towards the door.
"Tell him not to worry and that she's fine." he replied. Kara waved to Jerry as he was pushed through the door.
"I'll see you downstairs!" she called after him.
--
Ralph looked up as Jerry closed the door behind himself. He opened his mouth to speak but Jerry held a hand up.
"Kara is fine, Ralph. She's just as excited as you are."
"And the flowers? Did she like them?"
"Ralph, you're worrying too much. When will you stop questioning whether or not you are worthy of Kara's love and just realize you have it?" Jerry took Ralph by the shoulders and looked at him sternly. The expression did not fit his face very well.
"He doesn't mean to, truly! Ralph is just so used to-"
"Ah bup bup bup! No sob story- this is a happy day. You should be looking forward to your future with Kara and not dwelling on your past before her." Jerry shook a finger at him.
"Ralph did not know that Jerry was so wise. Thank you." he smiled and hugged his friend. Jerry patted him on the back and pulled away.
"No problem. Now let's hurry up and get to the aisle or they will be playing 'Here comes the Groom'." Jerry tidied up Ralph's appearance and smoothed both of their hair neatly. After making sure they had everything, they headed to the venue.
The hotel they were having the wedding at had a court yard. This was where the ceremony would be. Some staff members were making some finishing touches on the decorations and setting floral arrangements(designed by the groom himself) around the area.
Alice was running around with Ace, being careful not to interrupt the decorators. When Alice saw Ralph, she made a beeline to him. He felt the air leave his artificial lungs when she collided with him in a tight hug.
"Hello Alice! Ralph hopes you're staying out of trouble." he chuckled.
"Mhm! Ace and I were just looking around. I want to make sure I spread the flower petals evenly down the aisle." she said. Jerry made a slight pout.
"Jerry is the best man and that is a very important role." Ralph reassured him.
"I know! I just thought it'd be fun to throw flowers everywhere." Jerry sighed. Alice gave him a quick hug.
"I'll save some so you can throw them after the 'I do' part." she whispered to him. Jerry smiled and nodded. She waved her goodbyes and took Ace to their waiting area.
The staff filed out of the courtyard as guests began to flow in. Ralph felt his anxiety build with each congratulations he received. People sat in their seats and everyone got into their places. It was time. Ralph and Jerry stood at the altar.
Markus escorted North up the aisle, then Connor with Rose, and here was where Luther would've walked in in a typical wedding, but they had decided on a more important role for him in the walk. Alice, with Ace on a leash, walked down the aisle and showered the carpet in petals. Then, came the music that almost killed Ralph.
Hearing the bridal march never seemed so bad to him, but the wait was excruciating. Behind the entrance, Kara steeled herself and linked arms with her escort, then took her first step.
Ralph's breath caught in his throat. Kara walked slowly toward him, arm in arm with her best friend and matron of honor, Luther. When they finally arrived at the altar, before they separated, Luther gave her a kiss on the cheek and whispered, "Good luck."
Now Ralph understood their closeness. Something inside him told him that he no longer needed to be jealous of their friendship. Because, while they had both looked at each other so lovingly, the look reminded Ralph of something shared between a brother and sister or a father and daughter. He was grateful then that Luther was there for Kara.
The music faded away and the priest began the introduction. Kara felt as if she was buzzing with all kinds of energy and couldn't help but glance at Ralph every few seconds. Before they knew it, it was time to exchange their vows. Ralph went first.
"Kara," he held her hands in his and their artificial skin faded away on contact. "Ral-... I have loved you for some time now. I-I didn't know much about love before I met you. I still don't. Ah but I-I know that love is like a garden. You plant the seed and nurture it, and you hope that it grows to be big and beautiful. Yes, weeds sometimes grow among the flowers, but the hardships can be overcome with hard work and care." Ralph took a deep breath and continued. "I have always loved flowers, Kara. They're my original purpose. I was made to love them. I-I can't help but feel I was made to love you, too. Nothing would make m-me happier than to be with you and Alice for the rest of our lives. I want to grow this garden with you, Kara. And I'll spend every day taking care of the weeds if that means I can bring you flowers every night."
Kara wiped her eyes carefully, making sure not to mess up Luther's hard work. She sniffed and started her vows.
"Ralph, I'll admit when we first met, I was skeptical. You were waving a knife around and you looked like you'd been through hell and back." Kara began. "You had a funny obsession with succulents and cacti, and you wanted to take care of Alice and I almost immediately. After spending time with you, I realized that you were very similar to the desert plants you love; sharp and defensive on the outside, soft and harmless on the inside. I learned to look past the walls you had built to keep others out and I am so happy you let me in. You love Alice like she was your own, and you care for me in a way I've never experienced before. I am more than willing to take care of our garden with you." she finished.
"Weeds and all?" Ralph slipped the ring onto Kara's finger.
"Weeds and all." Kara slipped Ralph's ring onto his finger.
"I now pronounce you man and wife." the priest smiled, then nodded to Ralph. "Go get her, flower boy."
Kara barely had time to roll her eyes at the saucy old man's remark when Ralph pulled her in for the kiss. She wrapped her arms around him and let out a surprised laugh as he spun her around joyfully. He set her down and a shower of petals rained down on them. Ralph looked over his shoulder to see a sobbing Jerry tossing flower petals at them. He shook head and lead his wife down the aisle, beaming like an idiot. Ralph didn't care if he looked stupid, he was with her.
The wedding party followed suit in reverse order, Luther supporting Jerry as they followed their friends, both tearful.
---
"This song goes out to the very two people who brought us together today. Ralph and Kara, from all of us, we wish you the best." Markus nodded and made a 'namaste' gesture to them before sitting at the piano with Chloe. They sang 'I Was Made For Loving You'(no not the rock n roll version).
As they sang, Ralph took Kara by the hand and lead her in a dance. He had learned how to just for the occasion. The guests looked on, watching the two lovers twirl across the dancefloor. The song ended and there were applause.
After that, others danced to the following songs. Jerry was doing a box step with Alice standing on his feet so she wouldnt have to worry about keeping up.
"May Ralph cut in?" Ralph tapped Jerry's shoulder.
"I'm flattered Ralph, but you're married now." Jerry gave him a sly look. Ralph turned blue and vigorously shook his head.
"N-no, no that's not-"
"He knows, he was just messing with you." Luther clapped him on the shoulder, appearing seemingly from nowhere. "And stealing my joke apparently." Jerry shrugged sheepishly as Alice joined Ralph in a dance.
"So is it alright if I quit calling you Ralph?" she asked. Ralph faltered, taken off guard by the question.
"Ralph... Ralph wouldn't mind if you called him Papa." he smiled. Alice pulled him into a hug. Kara watched Jerry and Luther bickering and her husband and daughter dancing. Her's wasn't the most normal family, but it was the best she could have asked for.
--
Ralph looked up at Kara, gulping nervously. He had no idea this was a normal wedding tradition. Her leg was before him, bare except for the flower laced garter high on her thigh. Somewhere in the crowd of wolf whistles, Jerry and Luther were shielding Alice's eyes.
After a moment longer of hesitation, Ralph hooked the clothing in his teeth and pulled it down his wife's leg. He would never live this down. Ever. He just knew his face would be flushed blue for the rest of his existence. He stood up, removing the garter from his mouth quickly and held it up.
"Way to go, stud!" North called to him. He didn't know it was possible to blush more, but he achieved it. Kara stood next to him, bouquet in hand. They held one another's hands and tossed the items backwards into the crowd.
Josh grunted as one of Norths heels made contact with his shin in the scramble to catch the bouquet. Markus laughed rather uncharacteristically when he saw Simon sheepishly holding up the garter between his thumb and index finger. The guests looked around for who had caught the flowers. Jerry stood looking down into his hands with absolute delight, eyes sparkling.
"I'm getting married!" he pumped his hands into the air.
"Jerry, the women were supposed to-" Luther reached to him to calm him down.
"Shh, dont ruin this for him." Alice shook her head. Jerry was overjoyed and hopped in place. The reception continued and Jerry passed out the flowers from the bouquet. In truth he had felt bad hogging all the marriage luck, so he wanted to share it with the others.
"Here ya go, big guy." Jerry held out the last flower to Luther.
"I... I don't need it, thanks." Luther looked at the flower, brows creased.
"Take the flower so you can find love, darn it." Jerry insisted.
"Trust me, keep it." Luther shook his head. Jerry sighed and stood on his tip toes, breaking some of the stem off of the rose and fixing it into the pocket of Luther's tux.
Kara chuckled at the sight and leaned into Ralph's embrace. They were swaying idly on the dancefloor in each other's arms.
"Y'know... I don't think those two will ever stop arguing." she mused. Ralph hummed and kissed her.
"They have their own weeds they need to take care of."

A/n:
Oof that took a hot minute. I combed through this a bit to make sure I made as few mistakes possible. Typically I'll post as soon as I finish and fix it if I catch anything later on but I'm trying to stop that habit. Tbh this was super fun to plan out and think about and i was conflicted the entire damn time I wrote it.
And yes I'll admit it, Jerry and Luther are a crackship of mine. I really dont care if its platonic or romantic, I just think they both have shared interests in protecting and keeping their families happy. Ultimate babysitter boys.

Do You Understand?
TITLE: Do You Understand? (Rise For Your King Part 10) PAIRING: Reader/AU King!Castiel SUMMARY: The reader was betrothed to the prince but when a neighboring king decides to dole out justice to your future father in low, he destroys the royal family, leaving you with the two youngest princesses. The mage king takes an immediate liking to you, letting you live. What will you do with this opportunity? WORDS: 2,252 WARNINGS: Language
Part 9 || Part 11 || Masterpost || Fanfic masterpost
You awoke to Castiel’s arms around you, him breathing softly on your neck. You turned your head slightly to look behind you and your stirring woke him. His eyes fluttered open and a sleepy smile appeared on his face.
Moving his head down, he planted his lips on yours, drawing you into a slow kiss. You shifted, rolling over to face him and he drew you close again, your lips still embraced.
“Calm morning for a hectic day ahead of us,” he murmured.
Your nervousness came rushing back to you. You had fallen asleep pushing the thought of the wedding ceremony out of your mind. Castiel traced small circles on the small of your back, watching you lazily.
“Do I have to?” You asked in a quiet voice.
Castiel’s expression was warm as he stated knowingly, “You are nervous.” You nodded and he cleared his throat. “I would be worried if you weren’t. It is great ordeal. But, I promise I’ll try to make it as least painful as possible. Just imagine we are alone when you are reciting the vows and afterward, I’ll stay by your side and try to deflect most of the conversation to myself.”
Just as he had done on the trip around the country side. You didn’t know why you were working yourself up so much.
There was a soft knock on the door and Castiel beckoned, “Yes?”
The door opened slightly and one of the chambermaids poked her head inside. “Your majesty, the lady is needed for dressing.”
Castiel looked disappointed for a moment before he kissed the tip of your nose. “To their defense, they did leave us alone for quite awhile.” He directed towards the maid, “You can come in. Help her grab her robe.”
You tried to protest that you could get it yourself, “I can –”
“Mhm,” Castiel cut you off, humming slightly, caressing the side of your face. “You are going to look stunning in your gown. I cannot wait to see you later, my lady.” You blushed a bit and he gave you another quick, deep kiss. “Go now.”
Nodding, you pulled yourself away from him, throwing the covers off. The maid was waiting there with your robe and you slipped yourself into it, letting her tie it for you. It felt silly letting her do something as simple as that but Castiel seemed inclined to let her do your work for you and at least in front of him, you would oblige.
You left the room with a glance over your shoulder and found Castiel watching you intensely. You felt a spark in your chest at his searching, lustful gaze before forcing yourself to leave his chambers.
“Your majesty,” the maid said as soon as Y/N had left the room.
Castiel flicked his eyes to her, wondering why she was still in the room and had not followed Y/N out. “Yes?”
“Your grace, Dara is missing. She was supposed to be checking in you and the lady this morning.”
Castiel was so well versed in projecting a calm demeanor, he did not even flinch hearing her name. Instead, he calmly suggested, “Perhaps you should check the cellar. I know you girls are fond of finding the barrels late in the night.” The girl blushed at this accusation and Castiel pressed on, “Regardless of where she is, I would like her found. If she was to attend to myself and Lady Y/N and failed to do so, that requires reprimanding.”
“Yes, your grace,” the maid responded before giving a quick curtsy and leaving the room.
Scowling, Castiel turned over in bed, hoping to never hear that wretched girl’s name again.
<> <> <>
You were in Castiel’s colors. While the two of you had been away, a seamstress had been hard at work preparing the gown for your wedding. The gown was a mixture of black and gold, the gold bright and concentrated at the corset before spreading like starlight. The crown felt surprisingly light on your head. You had imagined the feeling of it would weigh you down.
Castiel’s eyes lit with hunger seeing you enter the hall. You had followed his advice, only focusing on him as you walked down the long pathway towards him. There were hymns being sung all around you, welcoming you.
You took his outstretched hand and let him guide you up the stairs towards the ordained holy man. His grip on you was tight and safe, an anchor. You don’t know how you got through your vows without stumbling but you did. His eyes had been boring into you and it had almost seemed effortless to keep his domineering stare. Your heart had leapt though, hearing his pledge to take you.
His hold had been just as strong on you as you looped arms, him leading you, you following his example back down the aisle to thunderous applause.
You were almost feverish, needing something to drink. Castiel had seemed to read your thoughts, taking you directly to your table and allowing you to discreetly drink some water and quickly eat a few bites of fruits. You were grateful, as you had been with him since he had laid eyes on you.
The guards were overly checking every single guest that came through the doors into the castle and then a quick brisk again when they entered the ball room. They were on high alert. You knew that this was a big event and it was imperative that Castiel and you were protected. But for some reason, it seemed like an overkill to you. But, you didn’t question it. If it kept Castiel calm and sane, you would put up with it.
He had kept his promise and had been by your side the whole evening. Until he was pulled away by a man of the court who requested to speak to Castiel alone. Castiel had seemed hesitant leaving you alone but had relented.
The maids were around you, keeping you company. If you could call it that. They were extremely quiet, only speaking when you spoke to them. It was a one-sided conversation and you were finding yourself vexed. You found yourself wishing someone would approach you.
Your wish was granted unexpectedly. A man appeared through the crowd, a hood obscuring his face. You recoiled slightly, not seeing his face. When he pushed it back slightly, he was quite handsome and you relaxed.
“I apologize, your grace,” he told you. “I am used to having a hood on. My home is basically in winter the entire year and it is a comfort for me. I did not mean to startle you.”
Forcing a smile, you replied, “No offense, sir.”
His eyes ran over you and he stated, “You are truly remarkable, my lady.” You blushed at his forwardness. “The good king is quite fortunate.” There was something lingering behind his tone on the way he addressed Castiel, but you tried to ignore it.
“As am I,” you stated.
The smile on his face was one of amusement. “Humble. It is a wonderful trait to have, your grace. I pray you never lose it.” He cleared his throat and added, “Humbleness is something I have a problem with but I have been trying to be better at it. What I mean is… I do not have a lot to offer you in regard to a wedding gift. I do wish I could give you and the king something magnificent. King Castiel has been prosperous in other regions and it would only be proper to bestow him with a proper gift. If you do not mind me asking, where is our majesty?”
You answered, “I apologize. He is speaking with a member of the court.”
“Ah, well. I was hoping I would be able to be blessed to give him my thanks for his leadership. I cannot stay long.”
Smiling, you promised, “I will make sure that I will pass your gratitude along, sir…?”
“Magnus.”
“Sir Magnus.”
He smiled, hearing you say his name, something flashing behind his eyes. He broke the gaze, “I hope you do not feel insulted that I would give you a gift without both of you present. I know you are busy and I know your time available with each guest is limited. I do not wish to miss my opportunity.”
“Of course not.”
On your permission, he reached inside his cloak and you felt threatened for a moment by the somewhat sinister smile on his face before he produced a gorgeous yellow rose. How had he kept it in his cloak without squishing the petals, you wondered. But it was full, bright, and smelled heavenly.
“How beautiful,” you smiled at the man.
Across the hall, Castiel felt a dark presence enter the room. He stiffened immediately, his eyes turning towards the door. His eyes scanned the people near the door, seeing uncovered faces, faces of the court and the wealthy who had won favor to attend the ceremony. Balthazar questioned Castiel’s immediate change in demeanor but Castiel ignored him, focusing on the crowd. His blood went to ice remembering Y/N was only surrounded by handmaids.
His gaze pierced through the crowd, his stomach dropping seeing Y/N speaking to a man, offering her a rose. That is what smelled of death and curse.
He held it out, offering it to you. “I, again your grace, apologize for it not being extravagant.”
“Oh, it is lovely though. I – we – appreciate anything from our kingdom. It is something shared and any gift is welcomed. A presence in celebration is an offering of time, is it not?”
Magnus looked pleased with your response. “You truly are a vision.”
There was something in his tone that was drawing you in. Your hand, outside your will, reached for the rose. His eyes lit, seeing your hand reaching for him and he inclined his hand, tipping the rose towards you.
Suddenly, the man’s face shifted into a grotesque expression, a scowl that would sour milk. He tore his hood off further, whipping to his left, his hand raised, the rose falling to the ground. Your eyes widened seeing a glow around his hand. A mage.
You barely registered Castiel flying in front of you, shoving you back, your handmaids catching you from falling. Castiel grabbed his hand, breaking his wrist in a quick second, the sickening crack making your stomach lurch, snapping you from the calmness you had been under moments before. The scream following made you close your eyes tight. You were unbelieving of the scene unfolding in front of you. You had been having a wonderful time a moment before and it had turned to ash in your mouth so quickly.
Castiel was hissing something at the man, something in a language you didn’t understand. The mage cried out in agony again, trying to grab at Castiel with his free hand but the guards were already on him, tearing him away from their king.
“He’s harmless now,” Castiel responded eerily calmly to his men.
“I know what she is!” the mage screeched at Castiel as he was drug away. “They are not allowed to belong to –”
His rant was cut short when Balthazar hit him in the back of the head with the hilt of his sword, knocking him unconscious almost instantly. It made the effort of dragging him away all the more easy to the guards.
Balthazar was at Castiel’s side immediately and Castiel growled in a low voice, barely audible to you, “Find out who broke one of the sigils. He should not have been able to pass through if one had not been tampered or messed up.” Balthazar nodded before turning on his heel quickly.
Castiel turned towards you, at your side in an instant. He grasped your hands, turning them palm up to look at them. He seemed relieved for some reason before his eyes met yours. “You did not touch that flower?”
“N-n-no,” you stammered out, still in shock.
His eyes moved around the ground before spotting the rose still laying on the ground. There was a growl low in his chest before he snapped his fingers, the rose immediately wilting, turning to ash and disappearing.
What was so important about that rose? What had gotten into Castiel? And what had that other mage planned to do to you? So many questions were running through your mind.
You were hyper aware of the ballroom quiet, watching the pair of you. But you had to know, “Who was he?”
Castiel turned his attention back towards you and responded evenly, “I don’t know.”
What a load of shit, you thought to yourself.
To him, you said something different. “You’re lying,” you accused him angrily.
Castiel cocked his head to the side and said in a low voice, “Y/N, this is not the place or time. I will answer your questions later. For now, we need to reassure our guests and make them feel safe again.”
You knew what he was saying was true but you were frightened still. Castiel squeezed your hands tighter and you felt a wave of calm wash over you, stifling your fear. His eyes searched your face and you relaxed against his touch.
“Do you understand?”
You responded tranquil, “Yes, your grace.”
Castiel reached up, cupping your chin. His eyes ran over your face one more time before he leaned in, giving you a soft kiss. “I’ll always keep you safe,” Castiel pledged under his breath.
