Etho's poor puppy moments in Wild Life Ep.5. The shift+look up move and sad little whine really sells it.
Edited from: Minecraft's Most DANGEROUS Quiz Show! - Wild Life - Ep.5 [32:50] (Scott) :: BURN BABY BURN - 05 - WILDLIFE [43:39] (Cleo) :: Wild Life #5 - Trivia & Tridents [35:38 / 38:28] (Etho)
Transcript is long so it's under the cut ↓
Clip 1:
Etho: Cleo owes me a favour now cuz I gave her information and she didn't, uh, give me anything in return. Impulse: [Robot beep boops] Scott: You don't get to take it from me! [Cleo laughing] Scott: I'm not going to get you- You have like sat down like a dog wanting a treat! You like ran over and sat down- Etho: I can be very persistent Scott, I'll stick with you the whooole session until you hand it over! Scott: Oh okay, hello Etho buddy! Okay this is fun, okay.
Clip 2:
[Etho digging out the ground under Scott] Scott: Etho, you can't bury me to get the trident! Etho: Please? Can I have the trident? Scott: Bad! [Knocks Etho back with wind charge] Etho: Please? Scott: No! You're not getting the trident. Stop trying to take it! Etho: [sad whine] Cleo: Oh you've got two, Impulse! Impulse: [Robot beep boops]
Clip 3:
Etho: Every time I see Impulse he's like trapping me, or just being a- a nuisance! Scott: That's kind of his schtick this season to be fair. Cleo: I mean yeah, everyone's like this... this season. Etho: He- he's all in it for himself. Me, I'm sharing, I'm caring... Now give me the trident...! Cleo: Etho you're part of the group that got me killed. Scott: Yeah! If you're part of the group that got Cleo killed, I can't trade with you.

Wild Life Spoilers: Session 2 Alliance Report:
Teams:
The Spanners - (Mumbo, Grian, Skizz) - formerly the Sub One Club, immediately forget their idea of using crawl mode and lament that they can't be sub one anymore. Mumbo then decides they are “The Floaters” due to them becoming obsessed with the levitation ability. Luckily this doesn't stick because I could not handle an alliance that changes name every session. Mumbo and Skizz built their “base” as a series of bridges, leading to Mumbo calling them “The Spanners” since “they span things”.
Speaking of levitation, they died from that. And starvation. This was not Mumbo or Skizzes session, with Mumbo losing two life's and Skizz losing 3, halfing his amount of lives in one session. If Skizz loses one next week he will be yellow. Seems Grian's curse of outlining his alliance has started early.
The Bam-Boozelers - (Scar, Lizzie, Jimmy)
I normally have a lot of faith in all life series teams. I think anyone can make it to the end. I think this so long as it is not abundantly clear that they're doomed. I never say someone is Doomed from the star-
This team is doomed from the start. Immediately they decide that the Wild Card is that he can't heal from hunger, now this is a good first thought and is shared by other teams, though those other teams immediately realised that if that were the Wild Card everyone would die of hunger and started looking for other options.
These 3? They stuck with that idea and started making boats to travel. When they realised that their hunger reduced passively, they panicked until Grian saved them by telling everyone in chat that they could eat anything. Now, armed with this knowledge they just have to find a good and easy to use food source.
They chose stone shovels. An item that cannot be stacked and required way more effort and resources to make than was worth it. And they stuck by this even as others told them about better foods. They only stopped using shovels because of the randomisation.
How is Jimmy the most confident member on his team?
In other news, they're theme park is going well and Lizzie's Parrot is cute. Jimmy also apparently has “Big Mascot Energy”.
Renwood - (Martyn, Ren)
These dogs are just vibing. They each lose a life each, no big deal. A far cry from previous seasons, Ren is just chilling, Not going after anyone unless they go after them first and trying to get Martyn to do the same. And he actually does, not attacking anyone this session at all. He even gives up going after Jimmy for stealing their cows (an action which was by every account deserved.)
The Tuff Guys (Tango, Etho, Bdubs) (not technically together (?))
Ah yes, Team B.E.S.T without Skizz …. Considering Skizz was the only person keeping Team B.E.S.T from imploding, this can only go well!
Yeah this team is not staying together. Technically they're already breaking up, with Bdubs saying they should only look out for themselves and insisting they live in different houses. Bdubs even cements this mentality by fully encouraging Scar to help kill Tango for no reason.
As for the “Tuff” part, Etho has decided that they need to be tougher and take what they want from people. You know, not to be nice or polite.
Luckily we can see how this works in practice, as Gem encourages him to go be tough to the Final Girls, let's see how Etho is an not being nice:
● he greets Scott and Cleo
● makes small talk
● politely asks for copper
● tries to stop Pearl stealing from them since he doesn't know she's on they're team
● takes more of the stuff he was told he could have
● gives them obsidian in return anyway
● and still feels bad about it.
Yeah not only was this the least tough Etho had ever been, the Girls almost certainly didn't notice and probably won't even care when they do. Great job Etho.
The Fast And The Furious (Gem, Joel)
This session, Gem announced her plan to make friends so people don't judge them based on 5 seasons worth of going insane every time they go red. This lasts for 3 minutes before other people arrive, Scar misunderstands instructions, Etho lets the cops out and the Final Girls partake in their favourite pastime of miscommunication and insisting their own teammates are doing something they aren't.
Other attempts to make friends do go better, with Gem arguably being on good terms with everyone except two people. So that's good.
Gem also builds a cute little Bard that I give a session before it's burnt down or has a Creeper hole in it. Joel spends all session building a car. Everyone on the server thinks it's hideous, mainly because it is hideous.
The Final Girls - (Scott, Pearl, Cleo, Impulse, Bigb)
Somehow the most stable team here, even if it is mostly out of spite. Yeah this team will stay together, the core four have never betrayed anyone unless an outside faction is involved. They're safe. Even if they continue the tradition of forgetting all the bad stuff they did and only reimbursing bad stuff their teammates did (what do you mean Pearl doesn't trust people based on what happened in previous seasons? That was you, Cleo!)
Oh Bigb also joined this session. Though I imagine this will be a Heart Foundation situation where he bases alone despite being on the team.
Scott and Cleo spend a lot of time this session fixing the mistakes Pearl and Impulse make by acting how they always do. A house and wall are built and Pearl and Impulse prepare revenge plans on Grian and Martyn. Pearl encourages Impulse not to tell the others, seemingly forgetting that Cleo and Bigb are addicted to revenge and would have no problem with this.
Alliances and Friendships:
Lizzie and Gem
these two agree to team up if their teammates die. Since their teammates are idiots.
Remember, Lizzie is the one who made the stone shovel plan.
Spanners Vs Bammers
The Bam-Boozelers still hate the Spanners, dropping their reputation all the way to zero. Mumbo and Skizz either don't realise this or don't care. Grian was gone almost all session mining so can't really say what his thoughts on the situation are.
The Family - (Joel, Etho, Gem)
Etho is indoctrinated into yet another family, though he seems more willing to be present for this one. When Tuff Guys breaks up like 5 minutes into session 3, we all know where he's going.
Also Scar might also be part of the family though every else seems to just ignore this.
Spanners Vs Tango
The Spanners are really angry at Tango for accidentally killing Skizz. They seem satisfied with manifesting his death through belief, but it seems they haven't let him off the hook yet. We all know Bdubs won't help him
Joel might also be mad at Tango since he ate the wheels of his ugly car.
Mumbo & Jimmy still hate Renwood
Mumbo still doesn't trust Martyn after the enchanter fiasco and Jimmy attempts to get revenge for the cow theft. Ren and Martyn have chosen to ignore this, Mumbo seems to have forgotten he was angry, and Jimmy is satisfied that he got revenge.
Ren buys his friends
Ren bought Gem and Tangos friendship through iron. Will this hold up? No.
Gem has beef with team oblivious
Gem hates Pearl and Impulse this season. They are at the top of her inevitable murder list.
● The Final Girls came round for a visit
● Impulse was accused of stealing
● He said he wouldt stela since he knows what it's like to be stolen from
● Gem took this as him amusing her of stealing
● Scott cut him off before he could explain himself by saying he was purposely antagonising them
● Gem cut both of them off by ranting about how much she doesn't trust them
Stellar miscommunication guys, great job as always. Please never change, the series would be way less funny if you did.
Pearl also made it worse by trying to Poison Gem 30 minutes later. Woopsie.
Neither Pearl nor Impulse notice that Gem hates them and the others refuse to tell them.

Note
Third Life, but everyone has their own personalised rule to torture them specifically that the other players do not know.
The boogeyman system exists, but BigB is the boogeyman every session unless he is red. If there is more than 1 boogey, Scott has a 3x likelihood to be picked, but only after session 3. Joel is never a boogey, and cannot purposefully kill even when red.
Grian cannot purposefully kill any red names, not even in self defense, unless there are only 2 players left.
Jimmy is an exception because he thinks he has no rule, but he actually starts with only 2 lives. He is green on 2 and yellow on 1. The other players know this, and are not allowed to tell him.
Pearl cannot be more than 20 blocks away from another player, both vertically and horizontally, or she starts to take damage
Tango takes double damage to non-PvP sources.
Etho takes all the damage he recieved in each session in bulk at the end of the session.
After session 1 Scar takes constant damage if he is not wearing a full set of armour. He is the only player allowed to wear a helmet.
All damage Martyn does or takes is random, because he's bad at maths.
Cleo and Ren are soulmates and if they ever say something that could be interpreted as an innuendo while in the prescense of the other they instantly lose a life.
Skizz fully dies 1 minute after the person who fully died second dies, unless someone else fully dies in that period.
Impulse takes double damage to everything when there are less than 8 players left and 4x damage to everything when there are less than 4
Bdubs must act serious and gritty at all times. There is no punishment for failing this, but he is told there is.
Every session, Mumbo has a 50% chance to be the Boogie Man. He is not allowed to kill for the entire session not even in self-defense or if he is a red name. He must also inform at least 5 people, including Grian, that he is the Boogie Man by 1 hour 30 minutes into the session or an end crystal explosion will trigger on him.
Every 30 minutes, Lizzie has a 33% chance to be instantly teleported to Joel's location.
Anon I want you to know... that I love you.
Okay but this is LITERALLY one of my new favorite asks. It's so thorough and perfect?? For everyone?? Like hello??!?

My Roman Empire is how the life series writes itself. Here are some coincidences that I think about frequently:
1. Every person who has ever won a life series (Real Life included) was paired with another winner in Double Life (Grian & Scar, Scott & Pearl, Martyn & Cleo)
2. Several members had patterns in their deaths in Secret Life (All of Grian’s deaths happened while a large portion of the remaining server members were present, all of Scott’s deaths were arranged & he let whoever killed him kill him, all of Etho’s deaths were from Scar killing him, all of Jimmy’s deaths were from mobs of increasing strength (drowned, dragon & warden), all of Mumbo’s deaths were because of poor walking (walked off a ledge, walked into lava, walked into his own fence posts) & all of Martyn’s deaths happened in different dimensions)
3. Jimmy being out first 4 times in a row
4. Grian winning 3rd Life & then being dead last in the VR recreation of 3rd Life
5. Mumbo always having his final death moments after Jimmy’s final death
6. Pearl & Scar winning their seasons after being the underdog the entire season & having it the hardest
7. The first interaction Etho & Joel had in the entire life series was while they were in boats
8. Every time Scott is in the final two, whoever loses dies to a mob they didn’t know was behind them (Ren in Last Life, Scott in Real Life)
9. Jimmy always cursing at least one of his allies to do horribly each season (3rd Life was Scott’s lowest placement ever, 10th. Last Life: both Mumbo & Impulse were in the bottom 4. Double Life: Tango played poorly and was responsible for 2/3 of their deaths. Limited Life, Joel was out third & The Bad Boys died A LOT. Secret Life: Martyn was the first yellow AND the first red despite literally winning the previous season. EVEN REAL LIFE, Jimmy teamed with Grian, Joel, Scar & Impulse, who were the first 4 to be eliminated.)
10. Since Double Life, Pearl has wanted her allies to win the current seasons, she has outlived all of her main allies every season since then (Big B in Limited Life & Mumbo, BDubs & Joel in Secret Life)
11. Joel literally & metaphorically being the reason Lizzie was the first one out instead of Jimmy in Secret Life (Lizzie only died because she was trying to kill Scott to help out with Joel’s assassin task, by the time she tried to kill him & died in the process, Joel had already failed his task & just hadn’t told her yet, so if he had told her that he had failed, she wouldn’t have taken Scott to the end & fallen into the void & Jimmy probably would’ve first out again. Also when they were hosting an early funeral for Jimmy, Joel opened the grave & told Jimmy to “Rise”, I think this was Joel unknowingly breaking the curse.)
12. The fact that Gem’s final death is always her coming 3rd & dying in a 2v1 situation.
13. Joel’s first death in Last Life was fall damage, his first death in Secret Life was also fall damage. The reason Joel ended up on red life in Last Life was because of the Boogeyman curse (both times), in Secret Life, he because red because of being killed by a Boogeyman. In Last Life Joel’s final death was at the hands of Scott, causing him to place 5th, in Secret Life, Joel’s final death was being killed by Scott, causing him to place 5th. I’m leaving out one of Joel’s Last Life deaths, specifically when he died to Mumbo in self defence, but that’s mostly cuz there are more deaths in Last Life than Secret Life
This isn’t even all of them, there are so many more!

I've finished Etho's s7 hermitcraft so guess who's back with a slightly updated/slightly consolidated list of things about ethoslab I have noticed! or just enjoy!
(the previous list)
I have no idea when he learned to noteblock. I don't know if he knows. he knows how to noteblock tho. he's really good at it.
on that note, did you know that there is not a single piece of non-noteblock music in etho's s7 after the first episode? there might not even be any in the first episode. every single timelapse or montage is set to noteblock music
(he sang along to parts of his paper planes noteblock cover too. he was going shopping. I was entirely too delighted)
(also, there is some like...sitcom music theme that I don't know what show it's from. it's bothering me that I don't know. what you need to know is that throughout his s7 etho uses said sitcom theme as the transition before Shenanigans With Fellow Hermits clips play. his life is a sitcom. yes it is the noteblock version.)
I think that etho desperately needs minigames for enrichment. if he's not playing one he's working on one. he needs them and he will let them completely consume his life
the etho decked out 1 runs are hilarious, partially because it's funny to see him play it and realize how absolutely insane decked out 2 is, and how much of a madlad tango is. etho is still the same menace with great luck and skills. I had forgotten about the hole to the void in the middle out decked out 1 tho, that was a fun reminder
etho could make a career out of translating classic type games into minecraft. he kind of has, but it's a pattern.
he also keeps coming up with new games that are minecraft only and is good at figuring out how to balance them well.
again, king of minigames. he will in fact analyze them as much as possible. he caught on to the pattern of impulse's whack a mole game in like...2 rounds? maybe 3? he's good at pattern recognition and will put it to good use no matter the minigame
etho, I cannot stress this enough, is a little shit and enjoys being such. free glass is obviously an iconic moment, but I had forgotten about him scamming scar out of diamonds for "information" about the resistance, or about sneak-e-e's business model (you can't tax what you can't find!), or about how he kept being extremely ridiculous with beef in regards to record shop payments...the list goes on
etho is also very competitive. I mentioned this in the last list, but man...he joins like every single competition he can. he wants to win. he's not like, a sore loser, but he likes to win, and he'll get a little upset if he doesn't.
etho and beef have clearly known each other a long time and ngl I miss their interactions a bit. let them bother each other a bit more please. I want to see them trying to kill each other in ridiculous ways again please. or doing minigames together. they're so silly.
kind of similar, but etho loves getting a rise out of people and it is the best thing ever actually. it's fun watching him use dirty tricks to beat bdubs to sleeping for a prize. it's perfect actually.
that being said, I still really like when etho is just on his own working on stuff too. s7 has a lot of moments where etho will go "I'm gonna use this block palette!" and I will think "bro that's ugly" and then he will make an extremely cohesive build that I want to live in out of it. I think a good way to describe it is that for example bdubs is really good at detailed builds with texture and not much color, and a very realistic twist to them. etho is not afraid to use color at all, and embraces how the colors can work together or contrast. it's fascinating to watch and I love it.
he is also a redstone genius. I feel I am starting to understand how some things with redstone work. could I design something myself? absolutely not but I could work from a tutorial and not feel completely lost on why I have to use a dispenser and not a dropper now.
I think s7 etho is really experimenting a lot with style and how he wants to do things. he does a few more elaborate intros, for example, that are very planned out, but he also does a lot of the classic "hello everybody this is etho and welcome back to hermitcraft!" it's fun and it works, but I honestly feel he might be more confident in some ways now in s10, which is nice to see.
(side note—I think etho has some trouble with tone sometimes, where he really wants to make sure everyone's having a good time, but also he really wants to tease people. this works well with like Beef, who he's known a while, but especially in people he's known less he's quick to catch on if they take what he's saying too seriously, and clarify that he is teasing. it's nice to see tbh, just the clarity even with his audience)
speaking of llamas, I had not realized how recent some really big updates were. bamboo and pandas were new at the start of s7. the nether update came like halfway through?? I was more in the casual build side of mcyt at the time but man...I didn't realize how crazy that is to think about.
just...the way that etho visualizes builds is great. not just like, leaving space for farms, but filling in the spaces with a lot of details that make sense but also work with the space to cover anything it needs to AND to connect with the rest of the base. the sightlines thing is something I see a lot of other builders using but etho really uses them a lot in the Monstrosity in order to keep it from being Too Much as you walk through.
really just...he wants to have fun, and he wants to learn, and he wants to experiment and figure things out. if he can mess with some friends when he does it, that's a great bonus, yknow?
man. what a guy.

So in love with the Bdubs narrative...
"I stopped trusting Impulse, my secret girlfriend, ages ago because he's flirting with everyone, so it makes sense to side with the guy who's offering me a truce in the form of a clock."
"You can't kick me out of the base just because I'm on my red life. I built this place and I will simply not leave."
/neglects to mention he's still boogeyman when Tango brings him back. Like. why didn't you ride out the boogey curse until next episode and THEN ask to come back, you dummy (affectionate)
"It's fine to kill a teammate because he just set his spawn point in this room and all his stuff will be right here <3"
"Yeah I'll kill my fellow red ally because you promised me a life."
"Impulse, you would never kill me, right?" "... We're soulmates. We share hearts this season... Same team, Bdubs."
"When it was my turn to murder, I targeted the only guy who'd already died (a few minutes ago) because he was already on the way down emotionally; anyone else would have experienced an emotional roller coaster."
"It's okay that I stole from you a while back because NOW I'm coming with useful information. My morality is in the clear."
"I would turn on both my Day 1 allies so fast."
/crying over getting backstabbed, "What have I EVER done to SWEET IMPULSE??"
The entire rest of the episode snarking about how it's no fun to be backstabbed and Tango just "🙃 Thoughts and prayers, that must really suck. it must be the worst to get betrayed by someone you trusted. oh wow. oh man. who would do that? that's awful."
"I'm shooting my mom but it's just a prank."
"I won't defend you from Dad but I might try to stop you two from fighting."
All his allies like "I've just accepted the fact that I can't trust you while Etho's around because you'll betray me for him." / "Yeah, that's fair." They continue to let Bdubs stay in their base. He brags about how Etho lets him play pool in his basement and eat ice cream for breakfast. He would die for this man.
The fact that it's considered predictable that "of course Impulse gave you a clock again" so Cleo just sighs and asks to see it. Yeah of course Impulse clonked Bdubs on the head with that thing for another season, driving home I have not forgotten with every part of his being...
Nobody can trust this greasy little man and yet they adore him. He's just a sweetheart. Cinnamon roll. Everybody's angel. Haha he'll slam a sword through your stomach, loot your body, and walk off. He's never done anything wrong in his life btw.
I love the way Bdubs plays.

So, do nice guys finish last? (Did being Tuff Guys actually work?)
Tango got his best ever placement in Wild Life. He did a lot of early game mischief, like eating a car and murdering a man in cold blood. He was the only member of his team to actually suffer consequences and death for his (and Etho's) actions, but those happened early enough that they didn't affect his late game. He managed to come back from being red, killed Joel twice, and got away with it. He was one of the last greens. He was the last surviving member of his team (lmao). He blew it at the end but at least he can say he got a kill in the final showdown. The only Tuff Guy so commited to a life of crime that he broke the rules of the game. I think it worked out for him. Certainly better than the Heart Foundation did.
Bdubs didn't actually commit any crimes, other than starting a HOA. Well, initially he planned to backstab his team immediately because the tough guy philosophy was every man for himself, but they did all end up supporting each other mid to late game. He made no personal enemies and no real side alliances. He was only killed by players opportunistically or by accident. I'd say he lived up to the philosophy the least, which is funny because it's closer to his usual playstyle than his teammates'. This wasn't his best placement, but it wasn't his worst. He was killed by a snail 3 times.
Etho, where to start... Etho committed many minor crimes that no one took seriously, he allied with as many people as would let him, betrayed all of them, faced no consequences, and then blew himself up. Truly the master of the social game. Making everyone pity him wasn't supposed to be the strategy, but it sure did work. I think this maybe still counts as following the philosophy? It was at least calculated and self-serving (in the best way). Being aggressive went less well for him, both of his deaths in the finale happened while he was trying to kill someone directly (snail death while distracted killing Gem + own tnt while trying to kill Pearl/Cleo). He never won pvp. He permakilled one of the best players in the game and I'm still not sure who he was aiming for. Scar killed him once, just for fun, but no one else ever did, even when he deserved it. Good for him. He's never getting his reputation as a fighter back, but at least he proved that dogs bite or whatever. (It's not gonna stop people from cooing at him.) He placed better in Last Life, which you might expect, people were still afraid of him then, but he also placed better in Limited Life, the Etho is washed up season. Maybe next time.

i made my own Life Series iceberg :)
Tumblr media
this takes some entries from a few other icebergs i've seen around, plus a few of my own additions! i hope it's all accurate and in vaguely the correct order
here's an explanation for every entry:
LAYER ONE:
Grian owns the series: The Life Series was created by Grian, and he gets final say on all decisions relating to it.
The Helmet Rule: Lifers are not allowed to wear helmets during the series, both so other players are more recognisable and as an armour debuff.
Traps never work: There's a running pattern of traps often failing throughout all of the seasons, for a variety of reasons.
Scar's abs: There's some kind of correlation between how many lives Scar has lost and how much clothing his Minecraft skin loses.
5AM Pearl: The name commonly given to Pearl on her Red life, especially in Double Life.
Scar's Enchanter obsession: Scar almost always tries to steal the enchanting table for himself.
LAYER 2:
Secret soulmates: Refers to Grian and BigB's secret alliance during Double Life.
"SCAR NO!!!": Grian's catchphrase throughout the entire series.
Etho's skin never changes: Despite other Lifers using colour-coded or custom skins, Etho never changes his.
Jimmy's Canary Curse: Canaries are often bought down into mines to detect carbon monoxide or other harmful chemicals in the air; once the canary dies, it's a sign that there is danger in the mine. Jimmy's curse is that when he dies in the series, chaos and danger follows very soon after.
Ranchers' Revenge: The name of the Warden that Tango and Jimmy summoned to get revenge on Scar in Double Life.
All wooden structures will burn: The Lifers love arson.
LAYER 3:
Joel was Shrek: Joel's old Minecraft skin used to be Shrek, and his current skin is just a humanised version.
Pufferish of Peace: The misspelled name of the pufferfish that Grian offered Jimmy and Scott to form an alliance in Third Life.
"Go home. Go.": The words that Tango says to the viewer at the end of Double Life.
Skizz's nicknames: Skizz gives a lot of nicknames to his fellow Lifers, most famously Dippledop for Impulse or Jiggles for Jimmy.
Timmy is Jimmy: Some Lifers call Jimmy "Timmy" and can cause great confusion among the others, most notable in Last Life when Impulse thought he had been calling Jimmy by the wrong name all season.
Cupid Skizz: A headcanon that began in Double Life which claims that Skizz was the invisible force that drew the soulmates together, and is an angel/Cupid.
Crastle as a euphemism: In Third Life, Bdubs' Crastle was often called small and was joked about as a non-PG euphemism.
Easy mode left on: According to Martyn, almost every series has had the incorrect difficulty at the beginning. Most notable in Last Life, where the server was set to Easy mode instead of Hard.
LAYER 4:
Tango's rage: The moments after Bdubs' betrayal kill (Last Life) and the Ranch burning down (Double Life) in which Tango snaps.
EvilAnvil: Youtube Fancreator who creates songs based on each series, using vocal snippets of the Lifers as lyrics.
Ariosor11: Youtube Fancreator who creates videos summarising the alliances and relationships in the Life Series.
Grian's Widow Curse: Grian's allies or teammates always die before him, sometimes to his hands.
Watchers: Originally from Evo, the Watchers are a group of overruling beings who run the Life Series, effectively forcing the players to fight to the death over and over for their own enjoyment. This narrative is only apparent through Martyn's POV. This is not canon and, in Martyn's words, is more similar to a Life Series AU.
Martyn is always a traitor: In every season, Martyn betrays (or plans to betray) his closest allies.
LAYER 5:
Terry: No-one knows who Terry is. (BigB's alter-ego in Last Life when he goes into witness protection.)
Scitties: A specific image of Scar's Minecraft character, standing shirtless and with a... modified chest.
Scar's crystals actually worked: Theory with data behind it which poses that Scar's magical crystals in Last Life had a genuine effect on the player holding them.
Scott hates the Watchers: A common belief due to Scott's reluctance to kill anyone when he was chosen as the Boogeyman in Last Life. He defies the will of the Watchers, possibly out of hatred.
All winners are soulmates: All of the Life Series winners up to Real Life have been soulmates in Double Life -- Grian and Scar, Scott and Pearl, and Martyn and Cleo
LAYER 6:
"Winter is over, Spring has begun.": The phrase that Martyn planned to say after betraying Ren in Third Life after the battle of Dogwarts. It never came to fruition due to Ren and Martyn both dying in the battle.
Second Life: The original name for Limited Life which could not be used due to copyright concerns.
Listeners: A group of beings who are the opposition to the Watchers and are trying to free the Lifers.
The Full Moon Curse: Once any Lifer has pointed out that there's a full moon, the rest of the session is doomed to be tragic.
LAYER 7:
Scar's off-screen death: A cut death from Third Life which involved Scar being killed by Martyn. This was cut from the series due to it feeling awkward and not right.
Jimmy is a Listener: A theory that spawned due to the Listeners' interest and use of Jimmy during Evo. This also links with the theory that Jimmy purposefully goes out first every series to defy the Watchers as a refusal to play the game correctly.
HONOURABLE MENTIONS:
Mumbo is a Vampire: I didn't include this because it's more of a Hermitcraft thing than Life Series, but it's a fun headcanon. It stems from (I believe?) Season 7, when Mumbo's skin changed to be very pale.
Grian is a Watcher: This just tied in too much to the Watcher entry, and I felt that "Jimmy is a Listener" was more interesting.
thanks for reading!! <3

TUA Inconsistencies, Plotholes and Goofs
before u read, pls know that i adore this show and wouldn't be critiquing it this harshly if i wasn't utterly obsessed with it.
I don't think that all of these need fixes or explanations since they function as fun little plot devices etc but I think it's important to note that they do break the story a little. although there are some that really do need fixes.
this comes from a place of interest, analysis, and frustration but not hate.
(also apologies to all the gifmakers who i have indirectly @'d in this post)
here's a list of all the problems i could remember in tua:
The Commission is too OP
Tumblr media
(this one I saw posited by another blog but I can't remember who first brought it up? so credit to whoever said this first i think)
The Commission is shown to be capable of:
time travel
time freezing
body cloning & consciousness transplanting (essentially, their workers can live forever because they can build new bodies and transfer their minds as soon as they start to get old/ill)
paradox-proofing
timeline monitoring/spying (the Infinite Switchboard)
if the Commission has had the ISB all along + infinite time + unaging employees, then they have been able to watch every second of history, and every second of every alternate history ever (Lila watches the timeline Five rewound/erased).
If they can see every second of every possible history, then even if they're the most inefficiant organisation ever, they're able to know everything before it/they even exist.
which makes more or less every plot point impossible:
Five would not have been able to return to 2019 without being spotted and hunted down by people who know exactly what he looks like (13yro not 58 yro), exactly where he is (also making the tracker in his arm, and in the sweet wrapper, redundant), and exactly when he's vulnerable eg. when he sleeps, is injured or drunk.
The Handler would not have been able to hide in 1963 and plot against the Commission without being spotted by the Commission and killed/fired. Same thing goes for stealing and hiding multiple Briefcases.
The 1963 Apocalypse would not have been allowed to happen as the Commsission would have had Viktor killed long before it happened.
The Kugelblitz wouldn't have happened because the Commission would have seen it decades or centuries in advance and prevented it (this should be top priority because this is what kills them!).
Herb and Dot's Goals for the Commission
Tumblr media
In s1 the Commission wants a very specific timeline to take place (aka the apocalypse) with no deviations, and are willing to do anything and everything to make it so.
Herb and Dot seem more than happy to go along with this, and even believe that the Commission is correct for doing this.
Dot in particular is the Case Manager for the apocalypse, meaning she is the one who spotted Five when he arrived as a 13yro and left him there to die/live a life of pain and isolation. She also was chiefly responsible for ensuring the deaths of 7 billion people including all the Hargreeves' for "the greater good".
Dot is actually seen snitching on Five to The Handler, was implied to be working with The Handler to prevent Five from stopping the apocalypse, and is the one to alert security/sound the alarm when Five starts fighting The Handler.
So it's pretty weird that in s2 and 3 Herb and Dot are suddenly fine with the apocalypse not happening. It's one thing to change management, and another to completely uproot the entire mission statement/ethos of the Commission. The Commission, from the moment Herb and Dot gain control, has no goal or purpose. because they gave up that purpose when they agreed to let the Hargreeves go to an apocalypse free 2019.
This is also weird as Five is completely fine and trusting of them at the end of s2, when all they've done so far to him is prove that they cannot be trusted and will do anything to cause the apocalypse, as well as having left him to suffer alone in an apocalypse for 45 years as well as force him to join the Commission and become a murderer (or else die alone).
The Two Fives + The Briefcase
Tumblr media
old!Five doesn't take his Briefcase to 2019 in the original timeline.
So why don't Five and Luther wait until old!Five has left for 2019 to pick his Briefcase up off the ground, where it's entirely unguarded and completely abandoned, and avoid the Paradox Psychosis altogether.
old!Five wasn't in the timeline or remotely near enough to Five to cause Paradox Psychosis when Five originally came up with this plan.
The Grandfather Paradox + Similar Goofs
Tumblr media
TUA Time Travel operates on branching/alternate timelines, like Loki, not on a loop/predestined, like HP, and not on one single malleable timeline, like Back to the Future. ergo The Grandfather Paradox cannot exist within the show.
As soon as Five averts the 2019 apocalypse, his existence would trigger a paradox as without the apocalypse he never got trapped and has no reason/knowledge to return to 2019 to prevent it.
Same thing for S2, the only reason the nukes aren't dropped in S2 is bc Five saw it happen and time travelled back to prevent it, but as soon as that apocalypse is prevented, the nukes are never dropped, and so he never sees the apocalypse happen and therefore cannot know to prevent it.
In fact, the very first episode of S2 as a whole should cause the Grandfather Paradox, by the shows own laws: as by causing a nuclear apocalypse, their mothers were never born/did not survive long enough to birth them -> so they cannot be alive -> they cannot time travel -> cannot cause an apocalypse in 1960s -> the mothers were born -> and around and around and around.
A similar goof happens in S2, as Five helps his older self return to 2019 without de-aging himself. Five is concerned that he will cease to exist if his other self doesn't travel to 2019, but his older self does travel back. But as a 58 year old man. However, Five himself doesn't turn into a 58 year old man as he should have if this was a singular malleable timeline. Hence, he needn't have worried as they created a separate branching timeline rather than edit their own timeline.
so essentially, they're creating entirely new alternate timelines and nothing they do changes their own experiences, lives, memories or bodies.
It doesn't matter that their mothers were killed before they were born in the sparrow timeline, because they're not from this branch and therefore still have mothers in their original timeline. which is proven to not affect their current selves.
Which... breaks the entire plot of S3.
(S3 may have also caused another paradox as the reset causes Five to regain his arm, and lose the tattoo, possibly meaning he doesn't found the Commission, meaning essentially none of the series can even start as Five cannot leave the apocalypse without the Commission).
Polk Salad Annie
Tumblr media
Five travels to 1982, Wisconsin, to kill the Commission Board. yet he has no Briefcase, cannot time travel on his own, and is shown to meet The Handler separately rather than be picked up by her for transport.
(If Lila took him, then surely he would have attempted to steal the Briefcase from her rather than go through with the plan.)
furthermore, 1982 should be inaccessable. or at least, it should be a nuclear wasteland.
At this point, the events culminating in the prevention of the apocalypse haven't started: The Handler is not in control of the Commission, so Lila can't kidnap Diego to work for them, so he can't find the ISB and discover Viktor is the cause of the apocalypse, so Klaus doesn't know to take Ben to the FBI building, so the apocalypse can't be prevented. Five's action in 1982 is what sets that in motion (The Handler seizes control of the Commission), but 1982 doesn't exist in this timeline, so how does that work?
Five and the Commission don't seem to know how to Timeline hop, only how to create new timelines, and how to move backwards and forwards on their current timeline.
The only way to make 1982 accessable is to remove Viktor from the timeline or prevent the FBI from capturing him. Which they didn't. So how can Five get there.
The 7 Bells
Tumblr media
Reginald's reasoning for adopting the superkids is to send them to Oblivion to use it to reset the Universe. He needs himself and a minimum of 7 superkids to do this, any less and Oblivion won't activate, and without him there to program it, nothing changes.
In the Original Timeline, his plan is foiled in 2002 when he looses Five, and he doesn't try to rectify it. Then again in 2006 when he looses Ben, and yet again doesn't rectify it.
He screws himself over even worse by killing himself in 2019, as now he cannot even go to Oblivion to program it. Klaus could theoretically summon or be possessed by Reginald, but once again, Reginald only has 5 out of 7, and with Klaus indisposed by summoning Reginald, he only has 4 available to power Oblivion.
Even stranger, he could have adopted spares for if situations like Five and Ben happen, in the form of the Sparrows, but he chose not to.
its also a strange choice to build the academy(s) as public superheroes, as he chose to send his only 7 children into life threatening situations repeatedly, which nearly killed Luther, probably nearly killed sparrow Ben, and did kill umbrella Ben.
He also admits that he purposefully stunted the Umbrella's powers, which contradicts his Oblivion plan, where they need to fight 3 near-immortal Guardians. it also contradicts his words to Klaus in s1 - that he's disappointed because Klaus never reached his true potential. Which, if he killed himself with the plan to have Klaus summon him to reprogram Oblivion, he would need Klaus at full power to be able to do that at all.
The Sparrows also don't seem to have this issue, they have great control of their powers, Ben especially. so why bother stunting one lot of kids, but not the other.
Smaller Goofs
-Luther being normal not monkey in 2015 (1x03) when he had his accident in 2012 (1x04) is a big goof up
-klaus not reanimating in the original apocalypse with five remains unexplained
-in s1 the commission is set in 1955 (1x06), in s3 it's set in 1953 (3x07) and this remains unexplained
-klaus was kidnapped in just a towel but Hazel and Cha-Cha have his jacket for some reason
-all of the Founder Five plotline bc there is no given reasoning for why Five would willingly go against all of his morals and create the organisation that caused him pain (both emotional and physical) and got his family killed.
-if Luther was on the moon for a purpose, why not have him running useful tests to make sure Abigail's pod remains functioning? or acting as a sentry to make sure no one sends an exploration mission to the moon/behind the moon? why just have him send samples, that reginald never even opens, every day for 4 years? and how could sparrow reginald know what umbrella reginald planned for Luther? they're different people.
-edit: 12/07/24 the newspaper Five finds in the apocalypse is dated as 1st April, but when he finds the same newspaper at the end of season 1, it's still March 31st and Diego says that newspaper was sold that morning.

Notes on Scott’s Wild Life 3 POV
In summary: our gaslight king controlling the narrative as usual, what an icon.
Scott has very economical editing, having one of the shorter POVs, yet takes care to include several instances of being nice to Pearl (noticed this when he left in giving Pearl food, both at the beginning and when they were building the new castle together). However, he left out the session routine of chastising Impulse and Pearl for picking fights with Gem/Joel (seen in Pearl’s POV), only including warning a freshly yellow Pearl to not try to kill them.
Scott doesn’t die this episode. Notably, his main contributions to base building are simply moving materials from one chest to the other — a very safe activity when being pursued by a snail. Gem and Joel who also avoided snail death built in a wide open area, and the other no-snail-deaths generally forgoed building and dangerous activity altogether (although, RIP Lizzie for surviving mining only to be Skizz’d). All this to say: Scott wasn’t playing sweaty, he still took risks, but they were very small and calculated.
Scott doesn’t include a lot of the Spanners antagonizing GGGG. Partly because they failed and it’s not very interesting to just see Scott looking at the dirt for Mumbo and Grian digging, or warily watching Skizz from 15 blocks sway. But I also think he’s building a villain narrative for Pearl and Impulse and having other groups wrong GGGG would upset that balance. Though, this point is my most tinfoil hat theory.
Scott, Cleo, and Impulse half-heartedly warn Etho of an approaching creeper, sort of totally 100% causing his death. They all celebrate, Cleo and Impulse both breaking into delighted cackles, however Scott calls Impulse out on taking more glee from Etho’s death than the other two. He’s taking care to point out any villainous behavior in Impulse/Pearl, justifying his own negative behavior towards them and painting himself as a long suffering yet loyal teammate. He does this every season, and I eat it up every time — although he’s particularly negative towards Imp and Pearl compared to, say, Martyn.
Related, Scott is stressing how put together and connected GGGG is. He’s complimenting all of them and turning to the camera to gloat about how they’re not gonna fall apart. This session didn’t leave a lot of room for Impulse and Pearl to prove him wrong, but even then he’s doing the prep work to make it their fault if/when the divorce happens. This is made easier by his reputation as a good and loyal teammate combined with Impulse’s and especially Pearl’s fandom reputation as instigators. (And to an extent, yes, they are both consciously approaching WL with a “cause problems on purpose” mission.)
But I can’t ignore every time Scott badmouths their decisions to other people and denounces their actions as suspicious/villainous. That sort of behavior only makes him look better instead of strengthening his whole team: if he really believed in GGGG, he’d be lying on their behalf and definitely not calling them out for picking fights. Just as Cleo didn’t back up Pearl when she tried to poison Gem, Scott is actively making his teammates look worse. And I fear he might get away with it.
I love Smajor and watch his perspective as a fan! I think he intentionally plays “the social game” like this: partly to make it more interesting, and partly because he enjoys the chaos. And really, who doesn’t?

Traffic Series: Who is the best player?
I was watching this video by Eddache in which he investigated who won the Wacky Races, in which he made a point to differentiate who won the most first places AND who is consistently the best player (such as who always came in second place), and I wanted to do the same.
This was very easy because, luckily, the Traffic SMP wiki (which I usually don't like to use) did give me the order of elimination for each season, so I didn't have to go through the last 2 to 3 episodes of every season just to do it. It was just a time saver.
Some disclaimers:
THIS IS NOT ABOUT KILLS, IS ABOUT POSITIONS ON WHO DIES FIRST. Kills require skill, but that is not as necessary as just surviving. Is a survival game after all. Plus there are plenty of graphs that show who has killed the most in a certain season across all seasons.
Originally I wanted to use the Nascar/F1/Mario Kart scoring system since it made the most sense, and is technically what inspired this investigation. The problem is that it doesn't give points after 10th-12th place, which wouldn't work for a game with 14-17 players.
Instead, what I did for the scoring system is that I put the number they placed (ex. Jimmy came in 14th), divided by the number of players in the season, and then divided those numbers by the number of seasons they have played. The reason why is because, for example, Mumbo placed 16th in a season but only played for 2 seasons, his number will be bigger than Jimmy, who has come in last every season and is, objectively, a worse player.
This is still not a perfect system because some players only have played once or twice, so I don't have enough data to truly reflect their average. Although the players who only played once or twice (Mumbo, Lizzie, and Gem), are about where you believe them to be.
Lastly, despite Double Life having pairs dying at the same time, I did give them individual scores. The reason is because there IS a real winner in that season, so I just used the positions they used in the wiki. I don't know why they gave them those positions, but I just used them for simplicity.
There are some ties, but what I did in those cases: I just chose who was on top based on another table I did, but didn't end up using because of the previous Mumbo-Jimmy problem. So, I will just use it as a tied break and fun facts!
ALRIGHT LET'S SEE THE RESULTS!!!!
Tumblr media
PEARL IS THE BEST PLAYER!!!! SLAY QUEEN!!!
Here's the results in order:
PearlescentMoon
GeminiTay
Scott Smajor
Martyn Inthelittlewood
GoodTimesWithScar
Grian
impulseSV
RenDog
BdoubleO100
Ethoslab
Joel SmallishBeans
BigB/Bigbst4tz2
ZombieCleo
TangoTek
Skizzleman
Lizzie LDShadowLady
Mumbo Jumbo
Jimmy Solidarity
To be completely honest, I was surprised that Pearl is one of the best players. She is usually someone that people, players, and fans, don't tend to pay much attention to in this aspect. Like, THIS GIRL HAS NEVER BEING IN A PLACE LOWER THAN 4TH.
We know that Scott (3rd) is usually one of the last to survive and is almost a good luck charm for whoever he is allied with, or the players calling Martyn (4th) a survivalist and constantly considered a threat, and both know how to play the game VERY well, but people don't do that with Pearl.
What I was most interested was that middle section because we all knew that Jimmy, Lizzie, Mumbo, and Skizz are the worst players in the entire series. Everyone is very much aware of it, including themselves.
Who could have guessed that Grian is, statistically, a worse player than Scar. Grian and Scar have won once each, but Scar is consistently in 9th place aside from 3rd and Secret, while Grian is all over the place. He sometimes is on 4th, and sometimes he is 10th. Which is the same with Impulse, who he is tied with score-wise.
Fun fact: Etho and Joel, and BigB and Cleo, were tied in the other table that I didn't end up using, and that is reflected here in which all of them are VERY close to each other score-wise. So, if Etho is washed out/bad at PvP, Joel is, and BigB and Cleo are worse about it and shouldn't say anything about it.
Bdubs, Ren, and Tango are so interesting to me, because what do you mean Bdubs is better than half of the server???? How is Tango so bad he is under that big dip (He is 14th with 0.74, and Cleo the 13th is 0.56)!?! HOW DID I FORGET REN WAS 2ND PLACE IN LAST LIFE?!?!?! IS THAT REALLY MY WET PATHETIC DOG OF HERMITCRAFT SEASON 10?!?!
Also, here's the table with every place of every player and how many players were in any given season, for easier understanding:
Tumblr media
PS: The winners of every season are the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th best players. It might help their overall average, but not fully because Impulse has the same score as Grian(6th), and has never won a game. As I mentioned, Pearl has never been a placed lower than 4th, and aside from Martyn and Scott hitting 10th and 11th, are always in the top half.

Reasons for and against each remaining Wild Life member winning (who hasn't yet won a season)
Bdubs: Still has a yellow teammate and has been in the final 6 three times, but hasn't killed anyone yet (other than Skizz once in session 7) and has never made it past 11th in an even numbered season
BigB: The winners usually have an alliance with Cleo in the previous season, but we're not on her team (other than Scar), and BigB was one of the last humans in ep 7 of SL, along with Cleo, he also has an alliance with 2/3 past winners, and is good at surviving, he is also one of the few non-hermits, and the winners have alternated between hermits and non-hermits, but BigB tends not to stick with his allies, which could be dangerous
Etho: Still yellow and has many allies, and has been in every finale, but can't trust his main team to keep him safe, and will likely be trusted less by his other allies due to being on so many teams
Gem: Two out of five winners have won in their second season, and Gem, Joel, and Etho are all still yellow, but Gem and Joel will likely be targeted, due to being two of the best at PVP
Impulse: Impulse is still yellow, has good teammates, and is almost always in the top 7, but he isn't good at defending himself, and gets eliminated because of that
Ren: Ren has the greatest average net change in placement, going from 7th to 2nd to 11th, so, following the trend, he should place very high, maybe even 1st, Ren also got the 43rd kill, and the only two other people to get the 43rd kill were Scott in LL and Martyn in LimL, but Ren did just lose his only teammate, which is not helpful
Joel: Joel is still yellow, has two very good teammates (they are two of the only four players to never miss a finale), is good at PVP, and has been waiting for this for years, he has also been consistently at the top of my statistical predictions, unfortunately, Grian's teammates don't typically survive long (Scar placed second, but was red by episode three), and Joel often gets reckless in finales
Tango: Tango has doubled his total kills, and is good at surviving, but his survival skills typically get worse once he turns red, and his final deaths are known for being stupidly avoidable
Cleo: Cleo won Real Life, has good teammates, and hasn't made many enemies, but they have only been in the top 7 once, despite almost always making it to the finale
Other things:
Bamboozlers: I felt like Jimmy and Lizzie had similar reasons, so I put them together. Jimmy and Scar are tied for the most kills out of all living players, Lizzie is good at surviving, and Scar and Lizzie have both had a teammate make the final 2, despite only having a combined total of 8 teammates (not including WL) over a combined total of 7 seasons. The bad news is that the three of them have only ever outlived 1 of their combined 17 teammates (Bdubs in LimL died before Scar), and Lizzie and Jimmy have never been in a finale.
Reputations: Gem's first ever episode was titled "I have a reputation," which may be the reason she can't win. I think people are going to be too afraid of the Family and the G's to let them live, which leaves basically the Tuff Guys' and Bamboozlers. People in 3L were more afraid of Scar and Ren than Grian, allowing him to get to the final 3 while yellow, Scott wasn't a threat in LL, due to placing 10th in 3L, Pearl and Scar were alone in their seasons, so they managed to survive (I guess this probably doesn't apply to Martyn)
Yellows: Grian and Pearl started on yellow in the finales they won, Scott had just turned red at the end of the penultimate episode, and everyone started on red in the LimL and SL finales, so Gem, Joel, Etho, and Impulse are in good positions.
In my opinion, Gem, Joel and Impulse are likely to win, followed by Cleo and Ren, then Etho and BigB, and Bdubs, Tango, Lizzie, and Jimmy at the bottom

Every life SMP I remember off the top of my head as I type this, but combined and made worse in every way I can conceive. Everyone has 2-8 lives, except Doc, who has unlimited lives. The goal of the series is to defeat Doc. Doc's goal is to defeat everyone else by whatever means necessary. There are soulmates, but the soulmates change every 20 minutes. There is the Boogeyman, but another Boogey man is added for every 10 minutes there are no Boogeyman kills. Scar automatically has one life, but every Jellie cat he tames gives him one more life, but if a Jellie cat dies he loses 2 lives. Grian has to steal Mumbo's mustache within the first 3 episodes (assuming anybody makes it past the first episode) or he loses 3 lives. Joel and Jimmy cannot be more than 20 blocks away from each other at any time or they both start taking damage. Etho is 100% invisible (no particles or anything) at all times. Bdubs catches fire every time he touches a bed. Pearl and Impulse spawn in the Nether, 14,000 blocks away from each other. The dragon egg grants infinite lives to whoever holds it. Lizzie and Bigb all spawn on their own separate end islands. (I'm not a masochist so the people who spawn not in the overworld automatically get a set of wooden tools and a stack of baked potatoes, but that's it). Ren and Scott spawn on a 3x3 stone cube at build height.
etc. etc. etc.
... *gestures vaguely* ... this post, or whatever.

Well, I'm out of ideas (for now) so how about ten asks?
Do Mumbo and Skizz's bodies just disappear after being killed, or do they have to be disposed of after every summon?
How many scientists are in the facility? How many guards?
Can Martyn hear if Scott (or anyone, really) were whispering in their cell?
Does Etho get tired from holding his mace? How many jump boosts can he do before getting tired, if there is a limit.
What does Ex plan to do with them? (I realized this could be a secret, but I'll ask anyway)
Is Jimmy's power activated on purpose or subconsciously?
Has Ex ever personally visited the subjects?
Does Grian gain the hybrid features of the people he borrows from?
Will Martyn die? 🥺
Does Scott suffer from loneliness in the cell by himself, or does he try to interact with the people next to him?
That's all! Have a wonderful day/night!
1.) Mumbo’s and Skizz’s bodies were buried right outside of the facility. (Do not ask me how Cleo can summon them and they’ll be next to her and then disappear again. I don’t have an answer for that.)
2.) That.. is an excellent question. Uhhhhhhhmmmmmmm… I would say there are about 3-4 dozen scientists, and for every two scientists, there’s one guard. It’s not a terribly big place, but it’s still a sizable group.
3.) Yup! Poor guy hears pretty much everything when he isn’t actively blocking things out or focusing on something in particular.
4.) The mace feels like an extension of himself, and he doesn’t really get tired of it (think like Percy’s sword Riptide from PJO if you’ve read it). I think his limit would be twenty jumps before he starts to get really tired.
5.) The goal of Project X is the same as Project Enhancement: to speed up human evolution to further advance humanity. If people can gain superhuman abilities, think about how much that will be able to help in day-to-day life. However, Ex is impatient, and he’s fully okay with harming the subjects in order to get the results that he wants. In Project Enhancement, he and the other subjects went through the same stuff, but they were given ample time to recover, and they were compensated for experiments going wrong. Ex isn’t nearly as considerate, as we know.
6.) Both. It can activate on accident with his anxiety, but he’s come a long way in controlling his power.
7.) I think he’ll pop in every so often for tests, but only on the more promising subjects like Impulse and Grian (I say those two are “more promising” because their powers are considered to be more useful than say turning invisible or being able to manipulate shadows).
8.) To an extent? His eyes will glow purple when he’s actively using the power, but when not actively using it, he’ll have their eyes (if they have different eyes), and I think things like extra appendages would be a translucent purple if that makes sense.
9.) Wouldn’t you like to know, weather boy.
10.) Scott is very lonely and will dissociate. He used to try, but the fact that he couldn’t hear anyone while communicating really started to mess with him.
Thank you for all your lovely questions!! :D

So I was rewatching limited life cuz I had a bit of time to kill and its the series I havn't rewatched lately and when I took a small break to get some food Grifters by Charming Disaster came up on my Playlist and I can't tell if it's a good Mean Gills song or if there's just a couple of lines and it's mostly time association
I- yes. Absolutely, yes. There is possibly no song better for the Mean Gills. Yes. This is perfect. I cannot tell you how often I envision them dancing to this song in my free time.
Let's of course start with the chorus, "with your skills and my good looks" being sung by both Ellia and Jeff is so so perfect, because Martyn and Scott both think of themselves as the pretty one who shouldn't be doing all the work and they also both have so much respect for the other's skills. Also, "those fish'll be begging for the hook" they are both fish men. Those are fish men. I know that Martyn is a pirate coral man, but they are fish people. They live on the sea. They are fish.
Verse 1 is extremely Martyn. It gives off some Scott vibes, too, but Martyn is the one who makes his whole thing lying and cheating people in and out of deals. "Take 'em for what they've got before they leave you" is SO Martyn, especially after he spoke about how he was originally planning to betray Ren if they had ended up the finalists in 3rd Life AND that being exactly how the ending of Limited Life played out.
Verse 2 has looser connections, in my opinion, but "I was born to live the life of leisure" makes sense for both of them. I mean, Scott is literally a classic elven prince in ESMP S1. It doesn't get much more luxurious than that. Martyn is a little more complicated. He's not the ruler of anything, nor does he often write his characters in a way that puts himself in an initial position of great wealth or power. However, in Pirates SMP, yet another SMP where Scott is in a position of wealth and luxury, it's no coincidence that Martyn ended up a Kestral, the faction known for its greed. He may not have started wealthy, but he, personally, aligned himself with the faction that seeks out luxury. While Pirates SMP Martyn and Limited Life Martyn are, of course, different people, they're still based on the same person. They're both still inherently Martyn. He has that fight for comfort in him.
Verse 3 talks about double crossing people. That's literally the climax of the finale of Limited Life. It is the number one way that the Mean Gills are doomed. Their eyes are everywhere but each other, because they made this bed and will lie in it if that is what it comes down to. "You may plan to double cross me (Slip a dagger in their back) // But I'm sticking with this horse // If the con is long enough it doesn't matter". Perfect. Self-explanatory. Does my job for me.
Verse 4 has "And some call me a snake // To others, I'm the closest of their friends", which I find is a great descriptor for Martyn in particular. In character, Martyn loves to lie to get the upper hand, but he is a devout ally through and through. On Scott's end, that man is sneaky. That man's got tricks, but there are also people (Cleo, Etho, Pearl, Impulse, Ren, etc.) who trust him whole-heartedly so long as an alliance has been established.
The bridge, then, in its entirety, revolves around uncertain yearning. That's, like, the entirety of Mean Gills. Whether you interpret that yearning to be between each other or through Scott & Jimmy and Martyn & Ren doesn't matter. Those two yearn, whether with love or bloodlust or victory; it consumes them.
TLDR; uhhh yes Grifters by Charming Disaster is the perfect song for Mean Gills from every single angle you could possibly look at them from.
