In case you didn't know, Toronto International Film Festival's decided to screen the film "russians at War", directed by former RT employee Anastasia Trofimova. This film's about poor, ordinary russian soldiers who came to kill, torture and rape Ukrainians. Anastasia Ttofimova literally screaming at you to have pity and mercy over terrorists, maniacs and murderes. Yeah, go feel sorry for poor little Hitler's army. Anyway, how this shit even happened, Toronto?

If you're confused, don't know anything about Russia's war on Ukraine, and aren't sure which information to trust, you should know at least one thing:

Everything - everything - you see professionally filmed from within the Russian army, or that comes from Russian-annexed territories of Ukraine, must be approved by the Kremlin. A journalist or filmmaker cannot gain access to Russian-controlled areas without a green light from the Kremlin. Even if it seems apolitical or oppositional, even if the creators claim to be against Putin - if they were able to film professionally or over an extended period within Russian-controlled spaces, they got permission. Please keep that in mind.

I have a growing suspicion that Cyberpunk writers don't particularly like people nor understand the point of titular cyberpunk as a genre. More so, I don't know if there are women in their lives that they are talking to (aside from the obvious "one of the boys/family members to ignore"), because there are particular stances on women that are... Something else.

"Fellas, is it ok to leave my wife of many years because I found out she's hooked up on plastic surgery? No, she's paying for it by herself and I have found out only because I paid my buddy to spy on her as I suspected she was cheating on me. No, I will not talk to her. Thank you! We have been making do. I'm a born and bred Appalachian and have dealt with plenty of natural disasters, so Hurricane Beryl wasn't too dissimilar than what I'm used to up North. The biggest pain in the ass is truly the humidity though.

I hope all my fellow Gulf Coasters / Southerners and those in the Caribbean are safe and picking up the pieces.

Okay first of all, process, as always:

I drew this in one day hahaha....Actually really fun! I haven't finished anything in almost a month, and haven't painted for even longer, so I'm kinda dying at the fact that 18th century George Russell got me motivated 😭 Sometimes when painting, I realize I have free will and can actually just start painting over the lineart, and that's the best moment of every drawing process 🙏

Also I'm very proud of his face!!! I've said before, but art progression is such a weird thing. You'll keep repeating to your self "I'm no good at [insert art thing.]" And then randomly realized you can in fact do it. That's me with drawing real people's faces 😭 I'm just so shocked I got his face pretty good in one try!!!

Okay about the pose and quote. God its so fun to misappropriate quotes for my own evil deeds. Both of these are from this one officer from the Revolution: Banastre Tarleton. Idk, I randomly saw his painting in a history video, and it's stuck in my mind ever since. And then yesterday, bcs I spent a lot of time looking at George, I'm like "hey you know what he kinda reminds me of-" and thus we have this.

I just found that quote about him from some historian to be funny, so I put it as a caption, as I would with Napoleon. This won't be an AU by any means but. I think if George was in the Revolution, he'd be the most stereotypical, evil British villain in American media type guy ever. And Tarleton is kinda that guy tbh, to the point where him and others like Arnold Benedict are the poster boys of evil Revolution guys. He even has a mocking nickname! "Bloody Tarleton/Ban", very "Osama bin Russell," no? 😭

Some notable moments from Tarleton's campaign that I think fit George: Apparently killed a bunch of American soldiers after they surrendered, making sure everyone was dead(😭😭), threatened to burn an American general's house down to make him surrender and then took him hostage, went toe to toe with George Washington himself and Washington even taunted him and Tarleton got a shot in, has a helmet named after him(very slayful.)

headcanon that jason reads to cass. well, it started as him reading to cass -- she got to work on her literacy, and he got to share his favorite books with someone -- but it kind of isn't just cass anymore.

tim was the first to join them. he'd sit at the end of the couch and listen. jason's got a good voice for reading, very calm and measured, and having that sort of steady, relaxed sound in the background made tim feel comfortable enough to fall asleep to the sound of his brother reading.

damian, oddly enough, was next. he walked into the library one day, fully prepared to dye tim's hair purple or something while he was asleep, but he came across jason reading aloud and short-circuted a bit. he didn't get read to growing up in the league of assassins, so the concept was pretty foreign to him. but he kind of liked it. so he sat down in one of the chairs and listened.

dick's Sibling Bonding Radar just went off one afternoon and led him to the couch in the library. tim was already asleep and damian was settled into the armchair, entranced, so it was cass that made eye contact with him and put a finger to her lips, telling him not to interrupt. not that dick was going to -- he was already stretching out on the floor, careful to be absolutely silent so as not to disturb the peace.

steph, kate, duke, and barbara don't live at the manor, but every time they're in the house during this self-imposed quiet time, they'll find a spot on the couch or the floor to listen. in the kind of life they have (the one where you dress in kevlar and spandex and go out at night to punch people) (or during the day to punch people) (or you run an enormous computer to help the people in the kevlar and spandex... okay you get it) it's nice to have some quiet time with their family.

Sorry I keep asking about the down in the deep au but I noticed you said ‘melded state’.

Is he stuck in a mix of ghost and humanish? So does he have the use of his powers but also more solid/has internal organs like a human?

Can he still fly. Important question. Can he just hover in the air?

Are his powers like normal ghost powers? Are they altered?

Also is his mental state younger as Little Baby Man?

So, keep in mind this might change as I write more of the story and things develop, but how I have it right now is that technically he's always slightly both ghost and human.

For example he's always giving off ecto in either form, a human doesn't do that. He has a heartbeat in both forms, a ghost doesn't. However, it's usually mostly separated, assisted by how Danny himself sees it as two forms. And ghosts are influenced by how they see themselves.

Now, right now it's more melded than before. He has organs like the living, a heart and lungs and everything else, he still needs oxygen. But unlike a human, it's not fully fueled by blood. There's still blood carrying oxygen, but it's not carrying any energy. That is where the ectoplasm comes in. It's acting like the nutrients and energy everything else functions off of. Food gets broken into ectoplasm that fuels the body.

But. The ectoplasm he naturally generates is the equivalent of a ghost his age. And he's no longer near his ecto-charged death site that would be charging him up. Meaning that he can't use much of his powers.

Now the abilities he does have access to are mostly the things his human body could already use. For example super strength is limited by what he could use before risking tearing muscles, so he can't use that. He does however, have more durability than a human, helped by the scales that have formed. He has slightly better human, due to the fact his body fueled by ectoplasm, but it's also exhausting. He can't fly or anything, but he's practically immune to cold and pressure, the ectoplasm preventing things like his bones and organs being crushed. Again, very limited to what he has access to because this form is new to him, and he was already previously injured and exhausted.

Actually, he does keep things like electrokinesis, photokinesis, and similar, but again, very limited. More like the shock of an electric eel than a proper manipulation. More internal manipulation than anything else, if that makes sense.

Now! Mentally. It's a mixed bag. Sometimes he acts more his previous age, especially at the beginning, but as his body and core adjusts to the new form, there's more flashes of a younger state of mind.

Not quite as young as his ghost age, but something inbetween. Closer to a 7 to 9 year old than a 14 year old human or a 2 year old ghost. Because his form right now is a mixture of the two. If that makes sense at all lol.

It was genius of btaa to say "Bruce gives himself nightmares on purpose via microdosing on fear toxin, so that he can come up with contingencies and strategies to avoid outcomes he wouldn't have thought of otherwise", and it was even more genius of btaa to simply not have Dick appear for the rest of the season with no explanation, implying that Bruce benched him off-screen to avoid risking his actual death. Which I'm sure the thirteen-year-old accepted totally gracefully

Halfa Batman. 19.2.23

DP x DC. Batman, Superman, Batfam, Danny Phantom. Batman & Superman, Batman & Danny.

Batman dies. (This is not the surprising part, given his job.) He comes back. (His family’s track record also makes this less impressive than normal.) He doesn’t do either one all the way.

Some kind of fight with the League of Assassins takes place, Batman gets tossed into the Lazarus pit along with a pack of dynamite or something, and the resulting faulty natural portal to the Ghost Zone + explosion manages to do just the right amounts of kill and revive him to yeet him to half-ghost status.

He does not tell anyone, of course. Healthy communication who?

He manages to keep it from his family as he figured out invisibility, intangibility, and his transformation.

All the criminal element of Gotham knows is that Batman is somehow even more spooky now.

The first person he does tell is Superman. He panics, looses control of his powers, and calls Clark for help because he’s floating several feet in the air and can’t get down.

Eventually he meets Danny, and that’s how he finds out about the anti-ecto laws and gets the horrifying revelation that not only is it legal for the government to kidnap and dissect experiment on him now, Clark is technically breaking the law every minute he’s not turning him in.

(Danny’s logical ‘that’s Batman’ side of his brain is being drowned out by his concern for the new baby halfa.)
