do you think rafe keeps his hair buzzed cause as much as he wants to be ward he’s fearful of the day he looks into the mirror and instead of seeing his own reflection he sees his fathers.
#he can embrace his father within him and pretend that fear gives him strength but what happens when he can no longer face his reflection#in all reality rafe can’t turn into ward#that confliction of self wld be too much for him and even if he doesn’t realise it he will entirely lose his person#imagine looking into the mirror and seeing the person you fear the most staring back at you#sure sounds good cause they can’t hurt you anymore right ??#until you start scaring yourself#and you realise how much control you truly lack#rafe cameron#ward cameron#obx

Dollhouse | Rafe Cameron | i.
The moment your mother marries Ward Cameron should have been the moment your life changes for the better. A fresh start out of the Cut for the both of you. And for the first seven years of living with the Camerons, everything truly is perfect.
Warnings: DUB-CON, NON-CON, Pogue!Reader, Stepcest, Secret Relationship, Manipulation, Jealousy, Drugs, Drinking
This is a dark story. Heed warnings before reading under the cut.
𝖘𝖊𝖗𝖎𝖊𝖘 𝖒𝖆𝖘𝖙𝖊𝖗𝖑𝖎𝖘𝖙
You peek from your hiding spot, beneath the lavishly decorated long table. Mom looks pretty. She’s wearing a fancy white dress that likely costs ten times the rent you used to pay. Perhaps more. The diamond earrings she dons, a wedding gift from your new dad, (Your new dad, your mind still cannot grapple with that reality-altering piece of information. You have a dad now, a stepfather), glimmer as they catch the glow of the fairy lights overhead.
She’s laughing. So loudly you can see all her teeth and her eyes are crinkly. You don’t think you’ve ever seen Mom laugh like that. No. You have never seen Mom laugh like that. Not ever. In the eleven years she’s raised you on her own. There have been sad times. Very sad times. Happy times too.
Still, she’s never looked as happy as she does today.
Like she’s on Cloud Ten. Not on Cloud Nine. Cloud Ten. Because there has to be a level above that fully captures how overjoyed Mom looks right now.
All because of this man. Your gaze swings to him. He’s wearing a suit, a white wedding suit, because Mom insisted they match and she always despised - despised not hated - bland wedding tuxedos. Bland anything really. So she picked his suit herself. Just like she did everything for the wedding. Her dream wedding. Something she’s constantly reminded you for the past month.
That this is her moment. Her big moment. One you shouldn’t ruin.
Which is why you’re hiding here. You can’t ruin anything from underneath a table. A silent observer. Quiet as a mouse.
That way Mom can have her moment while you bask in the shock that she’s a Cameron now. And so are you.
“Hey. Why are you hiding at your own mom’s wedding?”
You gasp, startled by the voice beside you. Your head turns. A blond-haired boy is crouched next to you, his neck crooked from having to fit his tall frame in the small space. His blue eyes are wide and curious as they rest on you.
“I-I’m not hiding,” you stammer, shocked that someone found your secret spot. Everyone’s focus is glued to the new Mr. And Mrs. Cameron. Even your new stepsisters are cheering from the circle around them. Sarah’s the loudest. Her thunderous clap and megawatt smile is a cheering squad all on its own.
This is their day.
So you figured your existence must have been forgotten by now. You tossed flower petals across the aisle, just like Mom asked. You smiled for the family pictures. You hugged him, that man, your new dad.
You awkwardly greeted your new siblings. Well, mostly waved from a safe distance.
You assumed your disappearance would go unnoticed amidst the bubble of joy keeping everyone trapped in its spell. But someone slipped away from it for a little while, it seems, broke the spell. Long enough to notice your absence.
He nods and says, “Really? Come out then, since you’re not hiding.” When you dig your pink ballet flats into the grassy dirt, refusing to move, the teenager chuckles.
He plops onto the floor.
“Or we can stay here.”
Your brows knit. We. It sounds strange. Alien to your ears. It’s always been you and Mom. The two of you against the world, jumping over every hurdle life stuck in your path together. There’s just so many kids now. And based on Mom’s recent announcement…there’ll be another one soon. The final knot binding your two families.
Thinking about it makes your mind spin. Overnight you went from being an only child to having three siblings. Well, four in some months.
Saying your world has been turned upside down is an understatement. Everything that used to be up is now down. And the house! Tannyhill is nothing like the tiny apartment you and Mom used to share. The one where the lights used to go out sometimes. It has all these big rooms. A gigantic yard. A pool.
JJ even made fun of you at school because he said you’re a Kook now.
A Kook. You wanted to punch him…and you did.
You will never be a Kook. It doesn’t matter if Mom makes you change schools, forcing you to attend the one on Figure 8, if she buys you new clothes, moves you to a new house.
You’ll always be a Pogue. A fact the kids at your new school make sure you never forget.
You tuck your knees against your chest.
“You don’t have to.”
“I do what I want,” he replies with a shrug.
He brings out a piece of cake from behind him.
“Do you want some?”
You make a face.
“Not hungry.”
He laughs and takes a spoonful of the three layered chocolate cake himself.
“What kind of kid refuses cake?”
“Why are you here?” you retaliate, growing more annoyed.
“Because you’re my new sister,” he states with a shrug. Your eyes round. “That’s what my dad says anyways.” He sighs. “Gotta look out for you and all that.”
“I don’t need it.”
“Well, little sisters are a pain in the ass. Didn’t ask for another one.” His brows furrow. “Didn’t ask for a new stepmom either but…here we are, princess.”
“Princess?”
“It’s what you look like, with your pink ribbons and all the bows,” he says, waving his hand in front of you.
You open your mouth then close it. Mom did go overboard with the pink and the bows. But she wanted you to look cute in the photos. She wanted all the girls to look cute. Adorable, as she said. So you and your stepsisters ended up with those big, embarrassing, fluffy pink dresses.
“Anyways. I’m your brother now. Deal with it, okay?” He scratches the back of his neck, placing the cake on the ground. “Pretty sure if I let anything bad happen to you my dad will kill me.”
You look ahead. Mom’s dancing with the girls now. She pauses momentarily, glancing around, but quickly returns to the dance. She, Wheezie and Sarah bounce in a circle, giggling as they tap their feet to the music.
Your eyes swell with tears.
This is how long it took Mom to replace you. A few seconds.
Rafe’s voice laces with irritation.
“Are you crying?” His harsh tone only drags more sobs out of you. You grip the hem of your fluffy dress to wipe the snot pouring from your nose.
The boy rolls his eyes.
“Girls are so annoying, always crying for no reason.” He plucks a tissue from the back pocket of his dress pants and dabs it against your eyes. He does it rather aggressively which startles you out of your meltdown. “Here, stop.” You blink at him. “I’m sorry, okay?” His blue eyes soften. “I promise, we’re not so bad.” He scrunches his nose. “Well, except for Sarah who’s a spoiled brat…but you get used to it too.”
You sniffle and duck your head. Almost as if reading your mind, he assures softly, “Your mom will always be your mom, so stop crying, okay?”
You raise your head, gaping at him.
“T-Thank you, Rafe,” you mumble between your abating sobs.
He shrugs. “Whatever.”
As he continues wiping your face, your tears slowly drying, you start pondering. Perhaps having a big brother won’t be so bad.
Cheers and applause explode around you as you blow the last of the sparkler candles. It took several tries before all the flames flickered out, plunging the room in total blackness. Your sisters giggle beside you and a contagious smile creeps onto your lips.
“Make a wish, make a wish!” your family chants around you.
You shush everyone which draws more laughs, especially from Mom and Dad. “Guys, quiet. I need to focus.”
You suck in a deep breath.
You close your eyes and make a silent wish. Your smile broadens. It’s easy. You wish for everyday moving forward to be as perfect as this one, as wonderful. A happiness untouched and crystallized like a butterfly in amber. Its paper-thin, delicate wings never shriveling. Its vibrant colors never dimming. Its beauty never waning, never yielding to the fickle whims of time. Every year onwards, you wish to be surrounded by the same love and support you’ve gotten to experience for the last eighteen years.
You wish to always be with family.
When your eyes open, you beam brightly. The fact that familiar faces stare back at you fills you with warmth and comfort. Sarah, your sister, offered to throw the flashiest, biggest party of the year for your birthday. She even made a vision board for it. It was quite impressive actually. She planned on making sure her little sister celebrated eighteen years on this earth with a bang. But you staunchly refused. Not only did you hope to avoid more organizing drama between Sarah and Kie, you wanted something discreet and casual this year. You had no desire to be surrounded by vague acquaintances from the Island Club or the snobbish classmates who only stopped calling you names once they realized Mom was more than Dad’s mid-life crisis.
Despite the twenty-year age gap between them, you’ve never witnessed two people more in sync than your mom and dad. You know every woman on that side of the island has wished for their marriage to fail. You wouldn’t flinch if you learnt there was a voodoo doll of your mom in one of those women’s closets. People figured they wouldn’t last. After all, they are so different. Mom used to be a cocktail waitress at the country club Dad is still a faithful member of to this day. His wife Rose had recently died and they bonded over fishing and sports. In many Kooks’ eyes, Mom will always be beneath them. You can see it in their eyes. Their pinched smiles. Their forced pleasantries. A veil of unbelonging will always cling to you and your mother. Deep down, despite living in this big beautiful house for seven years, you’ll always be Pogues. Not that you’ll ever tell Mom. She lives in a pink-colored bubble of her own making. One you wouldn’t dare pop lest she land in a cold puddle of harsh reality.
Still, you’re happy for your parents.
Even after all these years, they love each other deeply. They still find ways to surprise each other, to make the other feel special.
Alice and Ward Cameron are what true love looks like in your eyes. What it should look like. Unless you have what your parents have one day, you don’t see yourself tying the knot with anyone. Your dad set that standard by being the best man you’ve ever met.
Willa bounces in front of you, displaying her gummy grin. She recently turned seven and her front teeth have yet to come out. It never stops her from smiling all day however.
“What did you wish for?”
You don a cryptic expression.
“It’s a secret.”
Willa pouts, folding her arms dejectedly. Dad chuckles and picks her up. He rubs her back to comfort her, explaining, “She can’t tell you her wish, sweetheart. Otherwise it won’t come true.”
Your little sister gives a reluctant nod. Willa abhors the word ‘no’. Setting limits for her is a problem as she’s so accustomed to Dad surrendering to her every whim. Ward Cameron is what some would call a ‘girl dad’ through and through. It never takes much effort from you and your sisters to convince him and whoever would dare hurt any of you should probably count their days…as your dad would likely have already picked a date and funeral plot for them.
The time for the gifts comes. You sit in a chair at the head of the dinner table as everyone gathers around you to give you their gift.
Sarah got you a coupon for a tattoo. While Dad is livid, she winks at you. The two of you mentioned getting matching tattoos before you leave for college. You’re glad to learn that she hasn’t forgotten.
Wheezie hands you a Sephora gift card. She’s very solemn, adjusting her glasses while giving it to you, which tears a chuckle from you.
“You just always say you don’t want anything, then everyone gets you a super cool gift,” she laments. Mom squeezes her shoulder.
“It’s an amazing gift. I love it, Wheezie.”
Her face lights up at your response.
Willa’s gift draws the biggest smile from you. It’s a handcrafted wooden box covered in seashells, glitter and sand. It has a silver lock with a little key. It’s just so cute and you already picture yourself placing it above your bed or somewhere on your desk in your college dorm. It’ll be a much-welcome reminder of home.
Mom and Dad’s combined gift sits in a square velvet jewelry box. The breath hovers in your lungs, your fingers shaking with anticipation as you open the box.
Your jaw drops.
A gold necklace with a single diamond charm shaped like a teardrop lies on beige satin.
Your hand flies to your mouth. This must have cost a pretty penny.
“I don’t know what to say,” you whisper.
“Do you like it, sweetheart?” Dad asks.
“I love it.”
A bright grin unfurls on his face at your swift response. He moves forward, collecting the necklace from the box.
“Can I…”
“Of course,” you reply, shoving your hair aside so he can place the necklace on you.
When he’s done, he takes a moment to look at you, his hands clasping your shoulders. “It suits you. Your mom and I picked it out…” His voice falters, unspilled tears filling his blue eyes.
You wrap your arms around him. He hugs you tightly.
“Dad, it’s okay,” you say.
He unleashes a watery laugh. “It’s just…you girls are growing up so fast.” He steps back and hastily wipes the tears in his eyes. Dad loathes crying in front of you. Well, showing any sort of emotion really. You don’t remember seeing him shed a tear since the day you called him ‘dad’. It just slipped out of your mouth one time. It just felt natural after a while.
Ward is the only father you’ve ever known, your mother having divorced your biological father when you were just a few months old. You’ve never met this man, though you’ve heard he has another family on the mainland. You can’t deny you’ve been curious about him at times. But your mother’s lips are sealed when it comes to that man. She rarely talks about that time but you always gathered that his absence in your lives is somewhat of a blessing.
You hug Dad again.
“It’s okay. I promise to visit a lot. For every holiday. And you guys can come see me too.” You try to lighten the mood as you note the sour faces. “It’ll just be four years. Then I can come home and work on getting my real estate license while working with Dad at Cameron development.”
“That’s my girl. Eyes on the prize,” he praises.
“Always.”
He sweeps an icy glance over Rafe.
“If only a certain someone followed your example.”
Your brother flinches. He’s been a bit more withdrawn than everyone else during the party. Besides singing ‘Happy Birthday’, he hasn’t said a word to you. You surmise he’s not too eager to see you leave either. Out of all your siblings, you are the closest to Rafe.
While he was standoffish when you first met, he’s warmed up to you considerably over the years. He’s not just your brother. He’s also your confidant. You can count on one hand the things you don’t share with Rafe.
“Come on, dad. That’s not fair,” you say, trying your best to dissipate the tension in the air. “He’s just on his own path.”
Rafe bolts from his seat, stomping out of the room and heading to the balcony.
Your shoulders slump.
“Not everyone has to go to college to succeed. You know that. And so does Mom.”
“You’re right.” He heaves out a weary breath. “But I’m not mad that your brother dropped out of college. I’m mad he doesn’t care about anything he can’t shove up his nose or get high with.”
Concern scrunches your mother’s features.
“Honey,” she says.
“Alice, he’s twenty-two years old. It’s time for him to grow up.”
Bereft of arguments to defend Rafe, and with your dad being stubborn as ever, you elect to join him on the balcony. The cool night breeze seeps through your clothes. Goosebumps break out on your skin as you shiver by Rafe’s side.
You decide to crack his shell with a lighthearted joke.
“So I don’t get a gift from my big brother this year?”
A smile breaks out on Rafe’s face. He turns to you.
“But you always say you don’t want anything because you already have everything.”
You give him a harmless punch in the rib. He pretends to be deeply hurt by it and bursts out in laughter.
“I’m kidding,” he admits. “I'll give it to you later this week. It’s something you’ve wanted for a long time, promise. There was just a…temporary shortage.”
You acquiesce. You let a comfortable silence hang between you and him for a while before speaking again.
You take a deep breath.
“I’m sorry about Mom and Dad,” you blurt out.
Shrugging, he scoffs, “It’s fine. It’s not like Dad will stop riding my ass all the time. At least Alice doesn’t have her foot on my neck 24/7.”
You grip his arm.
“They’re just worried about you. About your future.” Rafe’s jaw clenches, his blue eyes set forward. “You know Dad loves you. He’s just not very good at showing it.” Hope laces your tone. “Maybe try to stop by the office more? I’m sure he’ll appreciate you showing interest in the family business.” You shift closer to him, whispering. “Even Sarah can’t be bothered, just so you know.” This makes his hard gaze fall on you. Talking about Sarah never fails to make Rafe’s blood pressure rise. Even after all that time, the two of them can’t seem to get along. “You’re always talking about being proactive and all that. Then be proactive, Rafe.”
He studies you for a while before a slow smirk unfans on his lips.
“You know…that is actually not a bad idea, princess.”
“Of course it’s a great idea. I had it,” you jest, drawing a hearty chuckle from him.
The buzzing of your phone shatters the moment. You startle. You hastily grab it from the pocket of your cardigan.
“Just give me a minute,” you utter apologetically. You step away for a bit. Rafe’s eyes on you are sharp as you check your phone. The message you receive has you fighting a smile. You feel giddy that he remembered your birthday. You don’t even remember telling him it was today. Suppressing the goofy grin threatening to take over the bottom of your face, you return to your spot next to Rafe.
“Who was that?” he asks.
You lie with ease. While you love Rafe, he can be so overprotective. To a suffocating degree at times. No guy will approach you because the mere knowledge that Rafe Cameron is your brother and will surely dole out a severe beating if any guy so much as stares at his sister too long makes most of them steer clear. Some of your suitors have tried, the brave, reckless ones, but Rafe would scare each of them away.
There’s been a boy lately. One who eluded your brother’s relentless scrutiny. Familiar, but also kind of new. Rafe would blow a fuse if he knew who it was. He can’t find out. Not yet anyways.
You slap on a mask of nonchalance.
“No one.”
He gives a nod, licking his lips. He seems to mull over something before narrowing his eyes in suspicion.
“Are you hiding something?”
Your stomach knots. You try to keep an even, casual tone. You fail.
“I-I’m not. Why would you say that, Rafe?”
“I don’t know. You were acting shifty just then.”
“I’m allowed to have some privacy, Rafe. I’m not a kid anymore.”
His jaw ticks. He takes a small step back, as if your words hit him square in the face.
“But we never had any secrets for each other, haven’t we?”
“Yeah.”
His blue eyes trap yours.
“So who was it, princess?”
You shudder. Keeping things from him is near impossible. He knows you like a book he’s read every single page from. Again and again.
This is how you know your subterfuge can't be a complete success. Still, you stick to your story.
“Like I said, Rafe. No one,” you maintain.
He bends over you, seizing your hand and tucking it against his chest. Your heart skips a beat.
“You know I’m just trying to protect my little sister, right? That’s all I’ve ever tried to do, protect you.”
“I know,” you say, a small smile tugging your lips.
He rubs his thumb across your palm, squeezing your fingers more tightly than before. You wince at the pressure. It’s on the thin edge of pain.
“So…you’d tell me if there was anything new in your life, anyone?”
Your pulse quickens. The lie aches as it rises from your throat this time. Needles of deceit. You aren’t used to lying to your brother.
“Of course, Rafe. You’d be the first to know,” you chime, forcing a false, wobbly smile on your face.
He stares at you for so long that it grows unnerving. After an eternity, his grip on your hand slackens. You rub your pulsing fingers, a frown wrinkling your brow.
He crosses his arms over the railing, eyes fixated on the night as he mumbles under his breath, “Good.”
You don’t know how to answer that, a wave of unease, cooler than the night chill, passing through you somehow.

PREVIOUS PART
His lips break apart from yours but his forehead rests against your own as he breathes deeply and takes your hands in his.
“Rafe, look at me.” You request, tightening your fists and finally his head breaks away from yours, but he doesn’t give you much room to crane your neck up to meet his eyes, but when you do you see a softness you’ve been missing for over a year. You can see the boy you loved at sixteen hidden behind his dark glazed eyes and you hope it isn’t your mind playing tricks on you. You find your fingers absentmindedly ghost up his chest to find both of his cheeks, cradling his face to lure his attention to what you’re about to say.
You lock eyes with him and silently plead quietly telling him “...We need to give Pope the cross.” You breathe deeply, knowing he’s surely about to cut you off so you hastily continue, closing your eyes, "I know you think this is the only way! - But it…it isn’t!” You tell him, your nerves wound tight, bracing for him to lose it. But he doesn’t. He’s staring at you and you start to wonder if he was even listening. But then his nostrils flare with an inhale and he closes his eyes before speaking.
“Alright. Yeah, alright, alright. We give it back…say we give it back. How, how am I supposed to protect you with nothing, Y/N? You want a roof over your pretty head?” He asks you the question laced with trickery, his fingers ghosting to brush your hair out of your eyes before continuing "With what money? You got some secret stash you haven’t told me about? Once we leave, my dad will drain every account. I can’t just walk into the bank and take that money. My accounts are all in his name. You think I haven’t thought this through in my head? You think he did anything before thinking about something like this? There’s a reason nothing is mine, Y/N. This is the only way, baby.” He tells you, the reality clouding your mind and you start to shake your head, feel like you’re panicking, your heart racing and bile turning up in your gut. You can’t help but cringe and close your eyes to revel in disbelief before tugging him closer to you by the fabric of his shirt under your fingertips. You can’t afford to lose him this far in. You know you have a good argument, but even so, he’s right. How were you supposed to get anywhere with pennies in your pockets? The world stops for a moment and you call his name again, his eyes locked in on yours and you drag his face close to yours.
Your lips ghost his, his nose brushing yours while you murmur “You know where the gold is, don’t you? Ward took you to the Bahamas.” You tell him, and all he wants is to kiss you. To hush your pretty mouth with his. His eyes are alternating between your own, your lips, back to your button nose, and he’s everywhere all at once. He scoffs and starts to shake his head because you just dont get it do you?
“It - It’s more than enough, Rafe. Isn’t stealing from your father better than stealing from someone who’s done nothing to deserve it?” You ask quietly, practically begging and you hope he sees this the same way you do. He doesn’t answer you, so you add “If you don’t want to do this for me, do it for her.” You blink cautiously, searching him for the flip of the switch. But his eyes flutter closed, heavy with tears and he only listens. "She doesn’t deserve a thief for a father, Rafe. Please…you have to do better for her.” You beg with a shaky breath and he opens his eyes back to look at you with such uncertainty as your words weigh heavy. After what feels like an eternity, he moves closer to you and quietly says “He’d tell them I killed Peterkin.” You can feel him shutting down, palms trying to pry your hands off of him before you shake his head slightly trying to get him to focus. But before you can say anything, Sarah’s voice cuts through the air and you almost forgot she was there.
Her voice is quiet, the moment tense “I’ll tell them he’s lying. I - I’ll help you…whatever you need from me…I’ll do it. Just return the cross to Pope, Rafe.” You look behind him to meet eyes with her and she nods gently, stepping back while Rafe begins to turn his body to face his sister. His body os suddenly tense again, your hands flying out to catch him and stop him from straying too far. But you’re not quick enough, your boyfriends words flying hot out of his mouth.
“You - You think I believe you?” He sneers, and you quickly reach out grip onto his bicep, trying to drag him back to you before he can move any steps closer to her. His arm flexes, the muscles under your palm firm and corded, anger bubbling there.
“Rafe! RafeRafeRafe.” You tumble out, desperate. “She means it, babe. She does! I - I believe her!" You say, and he turns his head incredulously, brows shot up to glance at you and laugh, void of humor. He’s looking at you like you’ve betrayed him and he thinks maybe you have. Incredulously, he asks; “What’s she ever done for you to make you believe her? Come on baby, I know you’re smarter than that.” He tells you, turning his body to meet you halfway. “You tried to drown her, Rafe.” You level with him, "I think the playing field is even. You can be angry but this is your best chance to do better.”
He breathes deeply and grips the bridge of his nose between his pointer finger and thumb, eyes clenching shut trying to gather himself. Your hand tightens around his arm, not realizing your nails are digging craters into his skin.
He’s nodding his head tauntingly, “Do better…me, do better.” He scoffs. "What happens when she changes her mind? In a week…in a month…in a year? You ready to live every day like..” Sarah cuts him off by quickly rushing out “I promise! I want the same thing you do. I want to be free of dad, too.” She says shyly, looking at you while she says it. “I also want better for my niece than what we had.” She says, and it makes you want to cry. You can’t help the hitch in your breath at her statement, because god…so do you.
“Rafe please...” You beg him, tugging his hand with yours and you can see the struggle in his mind. Your heart races because this decision decides so much more than just one thing. It also decides so many things for you and the baby inside you.
He huffs, defeated when he finally looks at you and almost silently says “Okay."
THEN
Your body is rigid as you realize two things.
One, you don’t need to feel unsafe. You are unsafe.
Two, the exact thing you’d been dreading, the idea that you tried to push out of your mind over and over rather than manifesting to fruition had come true.
You couldn’t trust him.
He’d chosen his father again, even though you’d been holding out hope - praying that the idea of his own flesh and blood might be enough to finally cut the tie. No such luck though as Rafe stands next to you, and you no longer feel the warm comfort of his body but instead an ice cold hardness as he extends his hand to you, offering you to take it. You can’t help but look at it, regretfully following the raised cords of his veins running up his forearm, past his bicep and up to his face. Your cheeks are stained with tears, your eyes pleading and you can’t believe that this is actually happening. You glance over to your mom who stands with Ward, her body wrapped in his arms like he’s trying to console her. You can’t help the humorless laugh combines with a sob that escapes your lips as you look at them and then back to Rafe. You ignore his outstretched limb, instead getting onto your own two feet.
You’re irate, shaking with anger and fear. “Y - You can’t make me do this! Any of you. I’m going to go live with Dad.” You shake your head and say, and your mother’s eyes widen before Ward interjects.
“Y/N, do you really think I’m going to allow the Cameron name to have incestuous ties to it? Do you have any idea what would become of any of this?” He outstretches his arms to motion around him. “You can try to go and live with your father, but regardless of where you’re living, you will not be doing it with a child.” He states matter of factly and you blubber on another sob before begging. “Please, don’t make me do this…” You plead, not caring how humiliating it may be to beg a man who didn’t care about you, but what choice do you have? When your own boyfriend - the father of the baby in your belly couldn’t stand up for you.
Ward looks beside you at Rafe and stoically says “I’m trusting you to see this followed through, son.” You glance over at Rafe to see him nod curtly and you can’t help but crinkle your eyes and scoff. Fucking pathetic. "This is insane! Rafe! Say something!” You shriek, and you don’t know how you’re not dreaming…or having a nightmare. He doesn’t deserve the title of father. Reality socks you right in the face in that moment - that you truly had no one. But you had the baby under your heart and that baby didn’t have anyone except you. Not even the other person responsible for their existence.
It’s a flash of motion before you’re kicking against his body as he throws you as gently as he can into the passenger seat of his truck. The entire time, your clawing at his arms, hurling curses at him. You can’t help but scream when he slams the door on you and tells you not to move. You grab the door handle without thinking and throw it open, dropping to your feet on the ground and shoving at his chest with your hands, telling him to “get the fuck away from you”, but his hands fly back onto your biceps, pushing you back against the open truck. He tilts his head down to yours to try to press his lips to yours, and fortunately you have enough sense to push against him with your chest and you spit in his face. You’re breathing heavily, crying now and twisting in his grasp as you mumble out a quiet and defeated “How can you do this to me?”
It’s then that he truly looks at you. You can’t bring yourself to look at him, too repulsed by his inability to be a man. So you let your resolve wilt and your shoulders slump as your body racks with tears.
He cautiously and carefully helps you back into the truck, your will crumbling as you continue to sob.
You watch with hatred and try to calm your breathing by taking deep audible gasps to see him round the front of the truck and climb into the drivers seat. He looks over at you and you start in immediately. He doesn’t even have his buckle on before you tell him how disgusting he is.
“You’re such a pig.” You say, tiredly. "You can cum inside me but then you knock me up and now this is your call too?” You seeth, not breaking your gaze on him. You reach out, taking his hand in your own and tugging it to land on your stomach. “You’re going to make me kill our baby?” Your insides feel like they’re on fire, a burning in your gut and you don’t plan on stopping.
He’s watching you back before tugging his hand back to land on the center console, throwing the truck into reverse.
“You’re a pussy and I can’t believe I ever let you have mine. I regret ever even meeting you.”
“I won't even call you a man, you’re not a man. You couldn’t even stand up for me. You’re so fucking pathetic."
“Gonna let your daddy make every decision for you? When are you gonna grow up?"
The entire car ride is filled with nothing but your own insults, and you wish he’d fight back, say something. But you’re tired - so tired but you’re so betrayed and you really don’t think you’ve ever felt this much hatred toward another person. It makes you sick, bile filling your esophagus. He tricked you over and over, and you were stupid enough to believe it each time.
“I fucking hate you and I regret ever loving you.” He finally looks over to you, and you meet his stare to say
"I will never forgive you for this."
He’s barreling into the parking lot, throwing the truck into park before reaching over to grip your jaw in his hand. He shakes you to look at him, and you swear there’s steam coming off of you as your eyes meet his. His breath is fanning down your face as he covers your lips with his own, kissing you with such force that you’re not able to push him off, so instead you groan in reject, before biting his lip. He pulls back like you stabbed him and your palm connects hard with his cheek in a cracking slap. His eyes are dark and he finally says something.
“We’re going in there and we’re going to make everyone believe you had an abortion. Kay?” He searches your eyes before asking again, “Okay?” He asks, head tilted as if he’s trying to hear your answer and your lip wiggles up in repulse. You don’t know if you heard him correctly. You surely couldn’t have. How could he deceive you like this?
“W - What?” You ask, confused. “What the fuck does that mean, Rafe?” You ask again, and he pulls your face back to his again and kisses you once more, but this time you don’t have the will to fight back. So you go limp in his hands, your body trembles from nerves. His hands find your shoulders to steady you before breaking apart from your lips and muttering a gentle “I’m so sorry, baby."
You can’t help but bring your hands up to his chest to shove him off of you and ask again “What the fuck do you mean?! What the fuck are you saying?!” You’re shouting at him and hot tears spring back to your eyes as you swat his hands away that are trying to find you. “No! No! NO! Don’t fucking touch me! What are you saying?” You’re trembling with full sobs now, screaming and crying at the same time, because he can not be doing this to you. “What the fuck?” You shout, eyes blown wide.
His face is contorted in emotional turmoil as he hastily grabs your hands to hold in his, tugging you closer to him and you don’t fight him when he tucks your head under his chin, pulling you closer to him.
“Baby girl…please take a breath. They needed to believe it. You needed to believe it, I couldn’t have made myself drive here if you didn’t. I’m so fucking sorry, I’m so sorry. I’m sorry, baby. You’re okay, please tell me you’re okay.” His own voice is shaky now, eyes rolling over you while rocking you without being totally aware he’s doing it, the both of you crying. You’re so numb, you don’t even have the ability to form words together to say anything to him, but you’re so checked out at this point that whatever you could have mustered up wouldn’t have done what you’re feeling any justice anyway.
You’re sickened by this entire thing, by him, by yourself, by your mother, Ward…and you quickly shove Rafe away from you before throwing the car door open to retch into the parking lot. You’re scrambling to get out as fast as you can, throwing yourself out to bend over. You’re faintly aware of Rafe suddenly next to you, quickly gathering your hair behind you, grabbing your arm to steady you as he whispers in your ear “I’ve got you.”
----
Your hand was in Rafe’s, your side close by his as the two of you walk back through the threshold to Tanneyhill, both of you silent when you were met with Ward and your mother, standing clearly waiting for you to return. You couldn’t meet your mothers eyes, so instead you looked to Ward who was only looking at his son before stepping forward and grabbing him by the shoulders tightly, his palm holding the back of his head. Your hand still tightly gripped in his, Rafe stood stoically, not returning his father’s embrace, and you glanced up to see his eyes staring straight ahead, emotionless. The two of you had been through hell tonight, mentally and emotionally drained, the bother of fake emotions too much to even try to facade.
“You’re okay, son.” Ward says to Rafe, kissing the side of his head and you think you’re going to vomit again. You can’t help but tug on Rafe’s hand when your mother approaches you. You don’t dare to look at her, instead keeping your eyes trained on Rafe, your heart clenching when you see tears stream down his cheeks and you hear him tell Ward “I’m not okay dad, She’s not okay.” He states it matter of factly but your step father is quick to brush him off, telling him he is okay, that he’s fine, that he’s going to feel differently in the morning. It’s then that you choke on a sob on its way out of your mouth, because how can this man be so okay after the idea that you’d just murdered his first grandchild. That he’d forced you to have your baby torn out of your body, the baby that was made out of love between you and his son. It makes you positively sick and you’re truly not sure how you're managing to stand on your feet.
Your both crying now when you feel your mothers warm hands on each of your cheeks, pulling your face to look at her. Finally, you meet her eyes and you just truly can’t. How the woman who birthed you was about to console you over the thought of not being able to do the same to your own child. It was sick, twisted, horrific. She pulls your body into hers and you fight as much as you can, which isn’t much. Your hand is being strangled by Rafe’s grip, but you’re squeezing back just as tightly because it’s the only thing keeping your body upright and your mind knowing that it’s not real. That it didn’t really happen - not what they’re thinking.
“You did the right thing, baby. Thank you.” Your mother tells your eyebrows furrow in regret and upset, your body pulling back, desperately trying to wiggle out of her grasp, her hands around your shoulders. You’re grunting and blubbering in frustration so deep it feels like you’re suffocating. You manage to look over the arm wrapped beside your face to see Rafe staring at you with the same defeat in his eyes that you feel in your own. “I love you.” You gargle out, voice thick with sadness. You don’t care what your mom or Ward have to say or think about it but you tell him again, but this time adding his name at the end. “I love you Rafe.” And you finally manage to shove your mother off of you, her feet stumbling back and she calls your name. You look at her and tell her “I hate you. You’re a disgusting excuse for a mother and you will never hear me call you that again. Looking at you makes me sick. I hope one day you feel the pain I feel inside of me right now, because you deserve it and so much more.” Your sneering, your top lip curled up in disgust as you spit through your teeth, finally looking over to your step father.
You take a deep breath before saying “I love your son more than you will ever be able to imagine that you love him. You choosing to deprive him of that love shows how disgusting of a father you are."
You take a deep breath and close your eyes tightly, tears streaming down as you tearfully add
"He would have been the best dad.” You nearly choke on your sob as you say the words, your voice raised an octave through the pain of the tears shaking through your body. You’re watching your boyfriend as you say it and the cringe on his mouth and look in his eyes hurt you worse than you expect. His usual demeanor, his nature to protect and defend is void, leaving a vulnerable boy who you don't recognize, and it physically hurts to watch him like this. Imagining the alternative outcome of tonight was too close, the idea that your uterus could be working to evict his baby right now all too real and Rafe immediately starts to sob. Your nerves are wound so tightly together, you’re shaking.
Ward is emotionless, still holding Rafe to his body, too emotionally spent to try to relent. But somehow he manages to tell you “It’s okay” and “I love you so much”, and his heart is swelling in his chest but his stomach is wound up in knots just like yours. What do you have to lose now? To everyone else, they’ve kept you from each other, forced you to become strangers, and now evacuate your body of the one thing it did right.
NOW
You’re sat in the middle seat of Limbrey’s truck, Rafe in the drivers seat and Sarah in the passenger. It’s quiet, your bags and Pope’s cross in the bed. Sarah texted John B to set up a meeting point to meet the Pogues to return the heirloom, and the tension is turning unease in your gut.
You break the silence by taking a deep breath and grabbing Sarah’s hand and quietly muttering “You don’t know what we’ve been through. What he’s been through.” You say regretfully, shutting your eyes in remorse before continuing, wanting to tell her everything. You hadn’t been able to confide in anyone and it was exhausting.
“I told you that your father thinks the baby is gone. He found out about her and his first thought was to take her away from us.” You say, tears unable to be kept at bay. Her hand squeezes yours and Rafe calls your name.
You tense, continuing. “No, Rafe. She needs to know.” You say, not bothering to look at him.
“Rafe drove to that clinic at 10 o clock at night and he paid people off so that they would lie and say they aborted a baby. They gave me papers that had details on what to look for in the adult diapers I would've had to wear that would have been the remains of our baby. Can you imagine what that was like? Sitting in a room where we found out I was 11 weeks pregnant and know that I was there so that the result of the love between me and your brother could be taken out of me just because your father and my mother said so?" You scoff before continuing.
"11 weeks is past the time they can give you a pill to terminate a pregnancy. I would have had to have her physically removed from my body." You furrow your brows because it's painful to talk about, but it's your reality. Rafe is silent next to you, so you sneak your hand over to his thigh to give him a reassuring squeeze. You know this isn't easy for him to relive. "I don’t know how to come back from that. We don’t know how to come back from that.” You tell her, your hand squeezing the life from hers.
She’s looking at you in horror, maybe even disbelief and it's then that Rafe's hand moves from under yours to snake around your waist and palm your belly. His fingers clutch at you in reassurance and protection as you glance down and cover it with your own before breathing in deeply.
“So Sarah, please help me understand...because I don’t know how we’re supposed to be okay anymore."

The Nanny
Pairing: rafe x nanny reader
Summary: Being Wheezie’s nanny was great. The only downside is dealing with the oldest Cameron, Rafe. What happens when his fascination with the nanny becomes a reality?
Warnings: 18+, masturbation, and voyeurism
Wc:3.0K
Chapter 1: Did you enjoy the show?
The sun was beating down on you as you laid out on the beach chair. Wheezie has been begging you all week to go to the beach with her and as per usual she disappeared. A breeze passed by you causing goosebumps to raise across your body. The sound of waves crashing filled your ears as you flipped the page of the book you were reading. “You know I didn’t think my dad pays you to lounge at the beach.” The voice of the one person you do not want to see right now creeps up from behind. You lift the sunglasses as you peak behind you to be greeted with Rafe Cameron. The oldest out of all of the Cameron children and one of the main reasons that even at Wheezie’s age she has a nanny. Your head turns to look at him over the chair you laid on. He’s wearing black swim trunks, your eyes look up at his body and see the chain dangling on his collar before meeting his eyes. Thank god for sunglasses, he would never let you forget checking him out.
“Actually he does. Whatever Wheezie wants she gets, today was the beach.” Your head turns to face the water again, glasses shading your eyes from the sun. The sound of sand shuffling can be heard as Rafe gets closer. His shadow casts a dark film over your body as he looks down at you. “Nice swimsuit, sunny. Really makes your tits pop.” A few snickers come from behind him and with a quick glance behind him you can see Topper and Kelce. “You should wear this around the house more often.” Rafe’s hand goes to caress the strap holding your top up. “Stop it.” You say and swat his hand away from you squirming in the chair to get away from him.
Through the corner of your eye you can see Wheezie coming back with some of her friends. Standing up you gather all your things, slipping your shorts back on to show off your ass. You might hate the flirting at times but it sure is fun to mess with him. “Come on baby, don't be like that. Why don’t you come hang out with us? I promise you’ll have a good time.” The sound of his voice has this underline of suggestion to it. Narrowing your eyes you stare at him for a second. Rafe has this little grin on his face that royally pisses you off. Who does he think he is? “The next time I want to be left unsatisfied and disappointed I’ll make sure to call you.” The edge in your voice only made his stupid grin grow even more. “Trust me baby.” He steps a little bit closer to you. “I would have you begging me for more when I’m done with you.” He whispered eyes staring at yours behind the sunglasses.
A scoff leaves your lips as you take a step back. “You’re right. Maybe I” You pause for a second to look at his blue eyes. He’s standing a bit straighter now, you actively have to look up at him. “Maybe after your minute is over I’ll definitely want more. I know how much you love having girls beg you to make them cum.” Which was true. Having to live in the same house as him let alone the same floor has proven that point. “It’s just sad you can’t make them cum the first time.” You shrug your shoulders as his face drops. Topper and Kelce’s laughs ring in your ear, infuriating Rafe as he shoots them a death glare over his shoulder. “Oka-”
“Hey!” Wheezie yells as she gets closer to us. “What are you doing here?” she asks the older Cameron. “Just enjoying the view.” Rafe replies with a shrug. His eyes raking up and down your body landing on your tits once again. “Gross.” You chuckle a little at her reaction. It's good to see that someone else is tired of his constant flirting.
Ever since you got the job a year ago, Rafe was always flirting with you. The small touches and whispers in your ear have been endless. Ward has scolded him so many times that you're surprised even talks to you. It’s not that Rafe isn’t attractive, he is but it's his personality. If that beautiful face hadn’t been so cocky, entitled, or rude you may have already slept with him. Actually you would probably still sleep with him but after hearing girl after girl. As well as dealing with the fall out of each heartbreak, you were all set. You didn’t want to be another notch on his belt and that’s all he sees you as.
“Come on Wheeze. Why don’t we go get some ice cream? I think I saw that cute boy working today.” You send her a wink as your arm wraps around her shoulder. The both of you couldn’t even get a few steps in before Rafe calls out to you. “You aren’t taking my little sister somewhere so you can felt with some fucking guy.” His eyes burn into the back of your head. Stopping and turning your head to look back at him you grin. “The boy isn’t for me, it's for Wheeze. I don’t think my boyfriend would like me flirting with someone else.” The ease in your voice made Rafe clench his jaw. The jealous green monster he hates so much tapping at his shoulder seeing you walk away.
The two of you continue walking, not looking back as he yells out to you. “What boyfriend? Sunny, I'm talking to you, what boyfriend?” Topper and Kelce can be heard trying to get his attention as he keeps calling after you. You keep walking as Wheezie turns to look back at him. The two boys now in front of him holding him back as he tries to follow the both of you. She looks at you for a second and then back to him. “Since when do you have a boyfriend?” Her brown eyes shine behind her glasses staring at me. “Since a second ago.” Looking over at her you both laugh, continuing to the ice cream shop that’s down the road.
✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶
The sunset was painting the sky with hues of orange, reds, and purple. It looked breathtaking as you sat in the kitchen scrolling on your phone. A video of a puppy playing hide and seek with a baby made you laugh. The sound of footsteps filled the room, Rafe’s voice following along. “What are you laughing about?” “oh sorry I was just texting someone.” You giggle, he steps further into the kitchen making his way to you. “Let me guess that little boyfriend of yours.” Bitterness and a hint of jealousy are laced in his sentence. You place your phone down as you twist your body to face him.
He looks good. The white t-shirt clings to his arms as he leans down onto the island next to you. “What could he have possibly said that was so funny.” There’s that jealousy again. You lean in a little closer to him, eyes flicking to his lips just in time to catch him liking them. You look back to his eyes, noticing him doing the same. “He was telling me about this douchebag that he met at this party. I think you might know him, he’s this little trust fund baby who thinks he rules the world.” A huf escapes his lips and he leans in a little closer. Lips so close to each other that when he moves his lips they lightly brush yours. “He sounds like an asshole.” He straightens up and walks to the fridge.
Opening it up he takes out a water bottle without looking back at you. His arms flexing distracts you for a moment and you’re glad that he can’t see you. Rafe closes the door and your eyes dart to the rest of the room not looking at anything particular. “It’s sad you are dating him. Maybe that trust fund baby can teach you a good time.” He winks at you when he walks by taking a swig from the bottle. “Very funny I don’t think he would be able to handle me. Plus why would I leave someone who can actually get the job done.” You shrug, picking the phone back up to look busy. You can see Rafe stop in his tracks from the corner of your eye. “Baby I would rock your world to the point that you would forget your own name. That little boy would look like a rookie once I’m done with you.” With that he just walked away leaving you blushing.
There’s a slight ache between your thighs and you clench trying to relieve it. Before you can make the mistake of following him Rose walked in. “Hi sweetie. Would you be able to do me a favor? Ward and I are going to the Bahamas for a week to finish up some business deal. Who knows what Sarah will be up to while we are gone and god knows what Rafe will be up to. I swear those two will send Ward to an early grave. Anyway, Wheezie is going to a week-long sleepaway camp with some friends. I know it’s not really your job but can you keep an eye on the other two. We really need to get this deal done and I don’t need them ruining something just to have Ward leave.” She barely looks at you or anything for that matter as she parades around the kitchen, staring at her phone the whole time. Her eyes look up at you waiting for the response. “Of course I can. I’m here to help out in any way.” She smiles at you and grabs a wine glass. “Thank you, You’ve honestly been a big help around the house. I haven’t seen Wheezie this happy or Rafe this well behaved. It's like we needed you.” She chuckles and pours the red wine into her glass.
Her statement took you by surprise. You knew that Wheezie was doing a lot better knowing that she has a stable environment. But the statement about Rafe didn’t make sense. Sure he flirts with you all the time and on rare occasions make sure you are okay at a party. But that’s just because he wants to sleep with you and he knows that if anything happened to you Ward would be upset. You’ve seen Ward yell at him countless of times and know how much Rafe wants his fathers approval. It honestly breaks your heart seeing how hard he really tries. “That’s only because he has to be nice to me. But I’m glad I’m a positive influence.” She takes a sip from her glass tilting her head as she looks at you. There’s something behind her eyes that you can’t make out.“You may not see it but he cares about you. He’s different around you.” She goes back onto her phone as she leaves. “But what do I know? You never know what that kid is thinking. Oh do you mind bringing Wheezie her suitcase? It's in the closet in the hallway.” “Yeah.” You call out stuck in place.
After a moment you snapped out of it and made your way to get the suitcase. Grabbing it you drop it off in her room. “Here you go kiddo.” You barge into her room. “One suitcase for your travels.” She is standing by her dresser going through it and tossing clothes everywhere. “Do you think this is good to bring?” She’s holding up a dress the two of you got a few weeks back when you were at the mall. “Depends, do you plan on spending the week doing camp activities in that dress?” You reply sitting on the edge of her bed looking at her. She walks over, putting the suitcase next to you as she starts to pack. “It’s not for camp. A cute boy in my grade is going and it’s for when he asks me out.” You laugh, swiping the dress from her hands before she can pack it. “Very funny young lady. When you are at camp you will be doing camp activities, not boys.” You fold the dress putting it back into her drawer before closing it.
“Uhh.” She cries out, flopping onto the bed. “You’re no fun. It’s fine he wouldn’t have asked me out anyway.” Glancing at her you can see her in deep thought. “He would be stupid if he didn’t. You are so beautiful and amazing. Anyone would be lucky to have you.” You crouch next to her on the floor and she turns her head to the side to see you. “Thank you.” Your right arm reaches up and pushes her hair out of her face. “Just telling the truth… Now finish packing, we don't need a repeat of Cabo.” You both giggle and you leave her alone.
Making your way down the stairs to your room the sound of a door catches your attention. It closes softly, barely loud enough to hear it. You stop midway on the staircase just in time to see Rafe make his way from your room across the hall to his.
What was he doing in your room? Rushing down the rest of the stairs you burst into your room. Nothing looks out of place, everything is exactly where you have left it. The bed was still made, your desk perfectly intact, your nightstand has the book you left there last night. If everything was still there what was he doing? Looking around once again you can’t find anything. Your legs start to move before you can think about where you are going. Even though deep down you know exactly where.
Not even thinking you open Rafes door but stop as soon as you see him. He’s laying on his bed, the shirt he was wearing earlier pulled up to his chest. Your eyes scan down his body and your eyes widen seeing what he is doing. Rafe's right hand is wrapped around his dick stroking it in fast strokes. “Fuck baby. Just like that, feel fucking amazing.” But what really catches your eyes is the red lace fabric he has pressed up to his nose. He takes a big sniff before bringing the panties down to his dick. You thought Rose's statement shocked you but you are truly frozen now. It’s like every muscle in your body gave up and every neuron in your brain died. No matter how much you wanted to say something or move you couldn’t. The grip you had on the door tightened as you heard him moan.
“Oh god.” His strokes get faster making the veins in his arms pop out more. Another moan leaves his lips. The noise draws your gaze up to his face, which was a mistake because you could ignore the throbbing happening in your shorts. But Rafe’s eyes were screwed shut, head thrown back making his neck look biteable. Yeah looking at the pleasure expression he had right now was a mistake. The little voice in your head telling you to run starts telling you to join him. “Fuck Sunny don’t stop.” Your jaw drops hearing your nickname. The one he gave you a few weeks into working here.
“Knew you were a slut. Begging me to teach you a lesson.” A sloppy smacking noise reaching your ears. He was thinking about you? You knew he wanted to fuck you but you never thought he would steal you panties just to get off on the thought of you. “Bet your dripping right now. Soaking those little shorts of yours.” This made your eyes shoot up to look at him. Crystal blue eyes meeting yours as his pupils dilate enveloping the sea of blue. He moans as he cums moaning out your name without breaking eye contact. White ropes shooting up and coating his toned stomach. You can feel the blood rush to your face at the thought of being caught watching Rafe masturbate. Well more of the fact that you like watching Rafe himself off.
“If I knew you were into voyeurism I would have left my door open a long time ago.” He chuckles, running his hand over his buzz cut. “I-I’m sorry. I saw you come out of my room and I.” The words die on your tongue watching as he gets up from the bed, wiping off his cum with my panties. His moans keep playing in your head as you just stare. He makes his way over to you, striping from his shirt leaving him completely bare in front of you. “It’s okay I liked that you watched me. Maybe next time I won’t have to use your panties.” He taunts waving the red lace in your face.
With your brain not functioning no comebacks came to mind and you didn’t feel his hand wrapping around your waist. “So tell me if I reach into those pretty panties will you be as soaked as I think you’ll be.” The soft fabric brush against your lips finally snapping you out of whatever daze was put over you. You push him off of you and snatch the panties out of his hand. “You fucking wish asshole.” You exclaim practically running out of the room to yours and locking the door.
Your chest rises and falls in fast motions trying to have you catch your breath. What just happened? The events keep playing in your mind as you throw the solid garment into the hamper and go to wash your hands in the ensuite bathroom. Scrubbing furiously you get the remnants of his cum off of your hands. You lean against it with your head hanging between your shoulders. It wasn’t until you licked your lips and tasted salt you remembered the moment. He had wiped the painties on your lips before you had stormed off. You still had his cum left on your lips.

Is it just me? The way I had such reasonable expectations for season 4 and it took a completely different direction. The faith I had in the writers and frankly the cast as well is embarrassing to look back on lmao
The gag is they didn’t need to invent a whole new storyline for this season (Groff). The material was there - they were the ones who MADE IT! And forgot about all of it for trash, brand new content? I’m talking about Ward and big John dying. Show more of JB and Sarah bonding over that. Resolution with rose, wheezie and rafe even. I’m talking about Kiara’s parents. They sent her away. They don’t approve of JJ. No resolution there after so much of season 3 being around that, and it being a thread in the story since season 1 . Theyre suddenly fine by mid-end of season. Luke being back was enough of a conflict for jiara. Also the weight of JJ living in his old childhood home that holds so much pain for him, and making it their own. I’d be fine with keeping the town council storyline and trying to save their home. THAT is season 1 roots. What does it mean for Jiara to be a couple now? How do they navigate that, being friends to lovers? JJ has loved her for years/seasons. I needed more. It wasn’t even believable. Pope and Cleo needed to figure out how their relationship would pan out being back in the obx. How does Cleo feel about having stability now? What does pope want to do? I thought he was going to college? I could go on forever. These are the questions those writers needed to ask themselves and WRITE accordingly. I don’t know how they got off path so bad to the point where almost every expectation I had for season 4 did not happen. Did I miss something? Did I misunderstand the show? I have to believe the writers are the ones who misunderstand their own show and characters at this point. I’m embarrassed to even admit I never believed the JJ death rumors because logically I thought, he’s a main character, fan favorite even, they will not kill him, it’s not that kind of show. OPE lol I guess the pates think it is. Netflix needed to give them a reality check because no one was honest with these clowns.
Hi, you make some good points❤️. With some distance I can see how my expectations for season 4 were unrealistic since the writers never really cared about the emotional stuff. The signs were there from the previous seasons (a good example of this is not showing us the emotional toll on Jiara after they nearly drowned together in season 2). For me, I could have overlooked this if part 2 wasn’t so bad, especially compared to part 1. I could have get my missing scenes from fan fictions just like I did with season 3.
My overall view on this (and I already talked about this here so sorry if I am repeating myself) is that there is a huge discontent between what show they wanted to create and what show the fans actually wanted. We wanted more family feel show about the Pogues themselves, about relationships, family drama and character developments, but they wanted to film action packed show with cartoon villains, lots of stunts and crazy locations. And since a season is only 10 episodes, they can’t possibly fit it all in. So since it’s more fun for them to do the action stuff (which is arguably more fun to shoot), the fans are left feeling disappointed because it’s all go go go without anything really meaning anything. That’s why I am worried they won’t do the “ mourning a friend “ plot line justice.
They created such interesting characters and we fell in love with them and had faith in the writers that they will develop them accordingly. And they failed to do that. They would also add more and more characters while ignoring the OGs that people were actually interested in (Wheezie, Barry, Rose, Mike, Anna…).
Groff was completely unnecessary, but since they wanted to outdo the previous season with more shocking twists and turns, they had to up the ante somehow. Unfortunately, they overplayed their cards in my opinion. Also the fans hated how much screen time John B and Big John had just the two of them in season 3, and they were pretty vocal about it. So why make the same mistake in season 4 part 2 with JJ and Groff? The writers clearly don’t actually care what the fans did and didn’t like.
Even if JJ had to be written off due to an actor wanting to leave, or because that was the plan from beginning, the death scene was just so short and lazily done and at the end was completely meaningless. But that’s another issue I already talked about.
I didn’t really believe the rumours for the same reasons you wrote down, until the season 5 renewal was announced and I noticed Rudy did not post anything about it. From that point, I had a gut feeling it was actually happening. Guys let me know if you believed those rumours or not, or if your opinion changed and why. I would love to hear your point of views ❤️

» sarah cameron & topper thornton || on my ao3
͟͟͞꒰➳ summary: following the scene in s2e6 where topper saves sarah from rafe trying to drown her — topper navigates trying to take care of little!sarah when he isn’t quite sure what’s going on
» warnings: little!sarah, caregiver!topper, swearing, crying, talk of canon violence/events, references to child/family abuse, talk of weight changes/not eating, past topper/sarah
“You got that? You got that Rafe?!” The words tremble just slightly as Topper grits them through his teeth, dropping Rafe to the ground and not letting his bloodied face be in his sight for another second before he turns to Sarah.
“Sarah, Sarah you okay? Can you breathe?” Topper’s hand shakes the smallest amount, resting in the air unsure if he’s allowed to touch Sarah or if that’ll make her very obvious panic worse. She blinks at him hard and sucks in a shaky breath.
“M’okay.” She’s not. Topper knows that and it makes his jaw clench tight in anger all over again, debating for half a second if turning back around to beat on Rafe some more is worth it, but then Sarah timidly reaches out for him and all that rage slips away.
He can’t get her held in his arms any quicker and reassurances start to naturally fall from his lips. It’s too cold for Sarah to be out here in the night when she’s sopping wet, she shouldn’t be stuck in the place where something so traumatic happened either, and the grip she has on the back of Topper’s shirt tells him he won’t be letting her out of his sight anytime soon.
“Sarah, can you walk? We can get on my boat and get away from here.” Away from her absolutely deranged family. Topper always knew Rafe was a loose cannon and Ward gave him a bad vibe since the day he met him but this- Rafe almost drowning his own sister- it’s so much worse than Topper ever thought. It makes a million questions pop into his head, terrified that this isn’t the first bout of violence Sarah’s faced from her family, overthinking every interaction he’s ever observed of Sarah and her family together.
Has this been going on for a long time? Months? Years? When did it get this bad? Maybe this is why she was so attached to John B so quickly, he’s nothing like her family, the farthest thing from it, Topper doubts he even knew Sarah’s step-moms name before they started dating. Shit- was Sarah ever scared of Topper because he hung around Rafe? Did she think he would hurt her?
The back of Topper’s throat turns sour with the thought and he shakes himself back to reality. Sarah hasn’t moved away from his neck, still shaking in place, her freezing nose tucked right up against his hot skin as Topper carefully cradles a hand to the back of her head. Her hair is hardening with the cold water and air from the sea, they really need to get out of here.
“Do you… want me to carry you?” His eyes squeeze shut with the ask because he knows it’s probably the last thing he should be saying. But Sarah’s always loved being carried around, she’d jump on Topper’s back any chance she could get even before they dated, giggling happily when he’d run around with her and bounce her up higher. He’d do anything to hear that giggle right now.
“Y-yeah, please.” The barely audible whisper of Sarah’s voice snaps Topper’s heart to a million pieces all over again.
“Okay I got you.” It’s easier than it was in the past to heft Sarah onto his hip, even with the wet clothes she’s lighter, thinner, he wonders how many days she went without eating when her and John b were stuck running from the cops. There should be food at the boat house he’s planning on taking them to.
The walk over to Topper’s boat is short but actually climbing onto the boat takes a minute or two, Sarah’s unwilling to let go of him and he’s scared of missing his step and falling into the water with her. He manages to get them both on safely but Sarah still won’t let him put her down on the bench of the boat. Something’s shifted in how she’s acting that Topper can’t quite place but it makes his whole chest fill with protective energy. The way she’s leaning on him, curled in as close as possible when he sits on the chair in front of the steering wheel, her hands in a loose grip on his shirt still, eyes wide and terrified— she looks so small — it makes Topper feel impossibly more responsible for her. There’s no way she can be responsible for herself right now, she must be in shock, too out of it to do anything but silently cry against Topper’s chest.
“I know somewhere we can go, somewhere warm, somewhere safe.” He murmurs and reaches to grab a stray blanket that’s draped over the bench of the boat from earlier in the day when Topper spent a good hour sleeping in the sun. Sarah used to say he was like a cat, always attracted to sun spots, but then she started to do the same and they could only laugh about it. A nap like that would probably be good for Sarah right now, it’d at least warm her up- but it’s night and the farther out into the water they drive the colder it gets.
“We’re almost there.” Topper assures when he feels Sarah shiver against him, nodding weakly in acknowledgment. The boat house truly isn’t far and he can see the outside light that’s always flipped on when it gets dark out, but the five minutes still feels like an eternity.
“Do you wanna walk in on your own?” Despite internally cringing as he asks the question because surely Sarah’s okay to walk now- Sarah only shakes her head against his chest. It makes the worry Topper’s had this entire time grow even worse, but he’d never tell her no so he quickly gets the boat tied down - reluctantly leaving Sarah sitting alone on the captain's chair as he does- before coming to scoop her up into his arms bridal style and carry her inside.
“Here’s a towel, I should have some sweatpants and a shirt somewhere around here just give me a sec to find them.” Topper really doesn’t want to leave Sarah sitting on the daybed by herself but she needs to change out of those soaked clothes sooner rather than later.
It takes a lot of digging and a few random swimsuits flung to the floor but eventually Topper finds a pair of jogger sweatpants and a loose shirt, both dry, both much warmer than the small jean shorts and t-shirt Sarah’s in now. She’s busy patting her hair dry, though the action is a little uncoordinated and clumsy, Topper moves to swipe the towel across her hair without thinking.
“Thanks.” It’s a mumble and Sarah’s eyes stare at her hands fidgeting in her lap rather than at Topper.
“Course. Here I’ll stand outside while you get changed.” The last thing he wants is to make Sarah feel uncomfortable so he slips back out onto the landing of the boat house after handing her the new clothes.
It’s already colder outside than when they first arrived despite how little time has passed. Topper momentarily thinks about taking Sarah back to his house for the night. It'd be nicer, probably safer, but his parents just got home from a week-long trip and won’t appreciate him sneaking his ex-girlfriend into his room at ten at night. Even if it’s not for any reason other than to take care of Sarah, not that he can exactly explain that, there’s no way anyone would believe him if he said he caught Rafe trying to drown Sarah when he went out to the docks to get his phone charger from the boat. It’d sound absurd. Like some excuse just to have Sarah stay the night. It’ll be better if she stays here.
“T-top?” The sight of Sarah all but drowning in Topper’s shirt as she sits cross legged on the bed almost makes Topper audibly go ‘awe.’ It’s not how he’s used to feeling about Sarah, there’s nothing romantic about the feeling, she just looks so small and innocent like this it’s pulling on his heart strings.
“Any warmer?” He tugs the blanket back over her shoulders even as Sarah nods to him.
“It’s late, you should sleep.” Not that Topper really wants to leave her out here alone to do so, but she looks exhausted and probably feels worse than she looks considering everything.
“Wait- will you stay?” His wrist gets caught when he turns to walk out of the door again.
“You sure?” Sarah hums and Topper hesitantly moves to sit on the edge of the bed, keenly aware that this might be a bad idea. It’s not that he thinks anything will happen- there’s no way- but Sarah might regret having had him stay in the morning.
“Sarah, you okay?” The answer is blatant, no she isn’t, she just climbed her way to be nearly sitting in Topper’s lap with her head on his chest and arms around his middle, she’d never do that under normal circumstances.
Even when they were a couple she always preferred to lay her head on his shoulder and hold his hand or throw her legs atop his so he could brush his fingertips up and down her calfs- she never wanted to be this close, never clung onto him like she is right now. He doesn’t know what to do in this situation- she’s dating John b, obviously likes him more than she ever liked Topper in a romantic way, and while this feels the farthest thing from romantic, Topper’s still weary of where the line of too much is.
“It’s okay, you can go to sleep, I’m right here.” The reassurances fall from his lips in spite of his personal worry, he simply wraps his arms around her back and gently brushes his thumb up and down on her spine til her eyes flutter shut.
The morning may be awkward and Topper still isn’t sure why Sarah’s behavior has changed so much but for now he does his best to make sure Sarah feels comforted. It’s the least he can do after the hell she’s experienced tonight with Rafe, and he can worry about John b possibly kicking his ass later, he doesn't care as long as Sarah is safe tonight.

juniper knows she’s pushing buttons but that ache in her heart is still there when she looks at jj. it’s hard to just turn off those feelings when you thought you’d be with someone forever. it’s hard to sit around and watch as he’s happy with kie. someone she had considered a friend. maybe not by choice but she ran with the same group. so separating herself seemed like the best option and in doing so an unlikely friendship kicked up with her and rafe.
her shoulders lift in a shrug, not really answering his question. “and if i was?” she asks before his hands come down around her arms.
“and john b tried to kill ward. you put a gun to topper’s head. topper almost killed jb. hm it’s almost like none of us are innocent.” but he’s right, rafes anger and emotion lead him, less logic and thought. “you can care about me all you want, jj but at the end of the day—you’re with kie and can’t tell me what to do.” like he could even tell her what to do when they had been dating.
He couldn't answer at first, staring at her from eyebrows to ankles like she was a stranger. She felt like one right now. He pulls his hands away. " That's different! That's so different and you know it! " The two groups had a lot of run-ins before they got to that point, JJ didn't randomly choose to show up with that gun he needed!
He needed it to protect him from his dad who beat on him and as an intimidation tactic when he got cornered on the wrong side of the island. His eyes fill with darkness and sorrow and his expression softens in disappointment and resentment.
" Yeah, I can see that. You're in too deep now and you don't even see it, " a reality that makes him let out the most bitter chuckle. " Screw you, Juniper. I hope you guys are happy together and never run out of excuses to trust him. Which probably won't happen. Apparently, all you need is a good dick and a promise, " he practically spat the words and would regret them later but right now? Fuck it.

Me and My Brother
Summary: When Ward sends you off to boarding school, you think that’s the end of your unconventional relationship with your stepbrother, but when you return the following summer, you realise your feelings have never gone away.
Characters: Rafe Cameron x Stepsister!Reader.
Words: 3.1K.
Warnings: stepcest, stepbrother/stepsister relationship, explicit sexual content, heavy smangst, angst, mentions of drug use, female masturbation, multiple orgasms, a little praise kink, unprotected sex (wrap it before you tap it kids), cream pie, 18+.
A/N: This turned out far angstier than I was expecting, but I kinda love it. Also for the purpose of the fic, lets just pretend Rose doesn’t exist, k? Beta: @princessmisery666 but all the general bullshit is entirely mine.
This night sucks.
Shaking your head to yourself, you wish you had protested harder when Sarah insisted you join her for what she promised was the “party of the summer,” which turns out to be just the annual bonfire get-together.
Nothing ever changes around here.
You stand back from the crowds, sipping quietly at your warm beer, eyes focused on the group of friends surrounding the fire, mimicking their smiles to yourself, wishing you could be a part of their inside jokes. Be a part of the friendship they’ve created in your absence. Sarah hugs John B. and gives him a sweet peck on the cheek and you have to smile— genuinely this time, so glad your younger sister finally seems happy.
You take it back. So little has changed, but somehow everything has changed.
It feels like forever, but in reality it’s only been a year since Ward first shipped you off to boarding school far away from the OBX.
This place is not good for you. It’s a bad influence.
You always knew what he really meant.
You’re no good for this place.
He was right and still is. Trouble nips at your heels whenever you’re home, following you around like a bad smell.
“Well, well, look what school kicked out,” a deep, familiar voice drawls from behind you. Speaking of trouble…
“Get fucked Rafe,” you snap as the dirty blonde sneaks up beside you. Flashing him a pointed look, your stepbrother merely smirks back before taking a gulp of his beer.
“Trust me, I’m trying,” he teases, tongue rolling across his bottom lip. You hate the way it makes you feel, your stomach coiling with heat.
You roll your eyes with a light huff. “Not gonna happen.”
“C’mon little sis,” Rafe laughs, running his fingers up your shoulder to your neck and giving it a tight squeeze. “Haven’t you missed me?”
To everyone else, it just looks like playful sibling affection, but to you, it’s more than that. His touch ignites something inside you, something you thought had long been extinguished.
But you know deep down it’s the forced distance between you that’s helped to staunch the forbidden tether to your stepbrother, not the feelings you buried when Ward found out.
I need you to be as far away from here as possible.
Forget your drug use and run-ins with Sheriff Peterkin— this is the real trouble Ward meant. Rafe. But of course, you’re the one who gets reprimanded, locked away like you’re some kind of deviant.
You are a deviant, doing that kind of stuff with your brother, your brain unhelpfully reminds you.
“Don’t,” you snap, stepping away and giving his hand a little slap. “We can’t do that any more.”
Your stepfather’s warning at the beginning of summer rings loudly in your ears.
Now you’re back under my roof, you stay away from each other. If you so much as look at my son, you’ll never step foot in this house ever again.
As much as you tell yourself it doesn’t hurt that Ward hasn’t regarded you as his daughter since he caught you and Rafe together, the truth is that it does. Only Sarah and Wheezie matter now. You are just a smudge of dirt tainting his pristine existence, and you can tell by the way the older man looks at you these days— all screwed up features dripping with disgust, he wishes he could clean you away with one swift wipe.
And you know the only reason he’s allowed you to come back, apart from the fact you can’t stay at school all summer, is at the insistence of your mother and Sarah.
“Why not? Dad’s not here,” Rafe shrugs, pinching at the bridge of his nose with a light sniff.
Fuck. Could really use a bump, or six, right now.
He slowly steps closer to you, the familiarity of his orange and ginger body lotion combined with that awful preppy aftershave wafting under your nose. You used to hate the smell, but the more you held onto the fading scent clinging to the hoodie he gave you before you left, the more the smell became a comfort to you. Like he was right there beside you.
And now he’s right here in front of you.
The shadow of night makes Rafe’s eyes dark as he stares down at you, and you can feel yourself wilting beneath it, like a flower dying after too long without sunlight or water.
Rafe is not your light. He is darkness personified.
“I don’t care,” you protest. “Ward will literally kill me if he finds out I’m within a hundred feet of you.”
“Then we’ll make sure he won’t,” he replies and you hate the way he sounds so confident. He always manages to make it seem so easy.
You swallow down the urge to cry as you regard him, taking in all the features you thought you had forgotten. In truth, you never forgot the way he smiles at you— smiles reserved only for you, or the way he touches you with such tender care, you only convinced yourself that you had blocked him from your memory to save yourself from the hurt.
Rafe isn’t gentle with anyone, except you. And that thought alone makes your heart ache.
It also makes you sick.
The whole situation is sick. In your pathetic attempt to put a label on what this is, the L word has crossed your mind, But this can’t be that, surely?
You’re too young to know what that is.
You can’t feel like that for your brother.
Yet no matter how many times in the past you’ve found yourself in a situation where you could be normal or happy with some other Kook— you always come back to Rafe. In the countless nights where you’d stumble home from parties, high as a kite, it was Rafe’s bed you fell into. And when the tables were turned, it was your arms, and the warmth between your legs, he sought out in the middle of the night.
In those moments, it was never just about the physicality of your relationship, but the safety you both felt within each other’s presence, that emotional connection that couldn’t be replicated with anyone else.
How are you supposed to move on from that? That beautiful simplicity where you just slot together like parallel pieces of a jigsaw.
You can feel the ghost of grief creeping back into your chest, the hopelessness that’s consumed you for the past year. Seeping into the cracks in your heart, threatening to swell and burst, shattering you from the inside out.
And no matter how much you tell yourself the pain is gone— the choking knot lodged in your windpipe, the crippling headache that doesn’t go away, the tightening nausea that rolls and swirls in gut-wrenching waves— it’s evident it’s still here, just lurking low enough beneath the surface ready to devour you again. The pain never leaves, not really, you’ve just got better at coping with it. Like a life-changing wound that slowly heals over time, but the nerve damage underneath is irreversible, and the way you carry yourself becomes the new normal.
You’ve become pretty good at painting on your mask that’s devoid of discomfort, but if anyone took a moment to strip away the fraying edges, they’d see a wreck beneath.
“Just leave me alone,” you sigh with regret, and turn back to face the fire.
“That’s what you want?” Rafe asks, his fingers gently brushing over yours as your arm hangs at your side. You entertain it for a faint moment, squeezing back when he grabs your pinky with his. The sound of Sarah’s laughter jolts you from Rafe’s hypnosis, and quickly ball your hand into a fist to stop him. You don’t respond, and even though it’s not what you want, you know it’s the right thing to do.
-
The party doesn’t get any better. You remain on the edge of every friendship group, not quite involved, but you don’t mind. Your thoughts are constantly elsewhere, and each time Sarah tries to talk to you, to bring you into the conversation, you’re apologising that you’re not much fun any more.
“I don’t care about that, I’m just glad you’re here,” she smiles, giving your hand a tight squeeze and your thoughts instantly transport you back to the way Rafe squeezed it earlier, the ghost of his touch still lingering on your skin.
Would she be as glad if she knew the kind of affection you show the brother you share in the sanctity of your bedroom?
You can feel your eyes prickle with tears at her kindness, and quickly wrap an arm around her as you catch Rafe’s stare from across the fire.
A blonde you’ve never seen before slinks up beside him, leaning up to whisper in his ear, but his gaze never tears away from yours, even when she pulls back, flirting her way to no doubt score a line or two. At least that’s what you’re hoping that’s all she’s doing and not angling for something else.
Even though Rafe and you can never be exclusive, let alone public, the thought of him with someone else makes your stomach twist with nausea.
And that nausea morphs and evolves into pure jealousy when she grabs his hand, trying to pull him away from the crowd. Eventually Rafe gives in, following her until you can’t see the back of his head any more.
-
“I’m gonna go home,” you tell Sarah ten minutes later. She looks sad as you stand up and shoot back the last dregs of the beer sitting warm and bitter in the bottom of your cup.
“But you’ve only just got here,” she tries to argue, but she knows better than to convince you otherwise when your mind is already made up.
“Sorry, just not feeling it.”
You can’t tell her that you long to catch up to Rafe and the mysterious blonde girl. Find out what he’s doing with her.
“Okay, I’ll see you when I get home.” Sarah steps forward and hugs you tight. “Love you.”
“Love you too,” you whisper into her hair, forever grateful for her affection. You remember how much you butted heads with the young teenager when you were first introduced into the family, but over time, Sarah not only became your sister but your friend too, and the thought of her finding out about you and Rafe terrifies you.
You mutter a shy goodbye as you step around JJ and Pope, and head back out the way you came in, eager to get home and hide in your room until summer is over.
You’re almost at your car when you sense a presence at your side, and glance around just as Rafe appears through the darkness.
Nobody pays any attention to the way he quickly grabs your wrist, pulling you away from the crowds. You struggle in his hold as he tugs you through the woods, deeper and deeper into the cluster of trees until the bass of the music is nothing but a dull hum.
He doesn’t say anything as he stops in a small clearing and turns back to face you, that familiar look in his eye.
His mouth is on yours before you can stop him. Rough and commanding, he pins you to the nearest tree, hands claiming every bit of bare flesh within reach. And you hate the way your skin craves his touch the second it dissipates, only appeased when his fingers run back over that same spot until it’s a vicious circle of want followed by heady satiation and back again.
In a rare moment of clarity, you manage to break the kiss, lips tingling.
“Rafe, stop, I told you, we can’t,” you explain, voice thick. “This past year has almost broken me, and you wanna pick up where we left off?”
“Well yeah.” He doesn’t sound very apologetic. After all, it wasn’t just you who got caught that day.
But you’re the only one who has ever seen the consequences.
“It’s not that easy for me,” you shake your head, trying not to cry. “Ward has me believing I need therapy for the way I feel about you, and you just wanna… fuck?”
“Well, we were pretty good at it,” he smirks. His hands cup your face, pressing feather light kisses to your lips as tears stain your cheeks. “Remember all those nights on the Druthers? Fuck, the way you used to come so hard for me,” he adds, his voice deep and husky.
Of course you remember. You can recount every single time he fucked you like it was yesterday. Your teeth pull at your bottom lip, stifling the words on the tip of your tongue— now is not the time to play the jealousy card. The time spent in secret with him is scarce enough, you don’t want to spend it at his throat, but the words spill out anyway.
“I’m sure your little blonde friend is a more than suitable replacement.”
“The girl at the bonfire?” he scoffs, incredulous. “She just wanted a line.”
“And the rest,” you mutter just as he’s about to press his lips to yours once more.
Rafe drops his hands from your face and takes a step back. He narrows his eyes at you, his jaw tightening. “Is this what this is about? You think I fucked her?”
You shrug. “Well you haven’t fucked me for a year.”
“And you think I’ve just gone around and slept with every girl on Figure Eight while you’ve been away?”
“Have you?”
“No,” he snaps. “I haven’t been with anyone since you.”
“Then why are you acting like this hasn’t been hell for you too?”
“Just ‘cause I don’t wanna talk about it, doesn’t mean it hasn’t,” Rafe tells you softly but you don’t miss the slight inflection in his tone, like he’s pissed you’re bringing feelings into this. Yet it's gone the next time he speaks, “Right now, I just wanna pretend like you were never gone.”
You study him, watching the way his shoulders sag at the revelation, like a weight has been removed from his conscience and it makes your heart soar. As selfish as it sounds, this is all you’ve wanted— to know that it’s not all on you.
Taking a step forward, Rafe suddenly shifts into the gap between you and hurriedly pulls you towards him, hastily claiming your lips with his own before his mouth is ghosting lightly over the skin of your neck and pushes up the skirt of your dress.
You know it’s wrong. You know you should stop him. But his kisses are like heroin— addictive and all-consuming, and no matter how hard you try, you can’t quit the high. Even when the current hit is still coursing through your veins you’re thinking about the next one. You can’t think, can’t sleep, can’t speak without feeling his name curling off of the tip of your tongue. He steals your every thought.
You shouldn’t feel this way about Rafe Cameron in the first place, let alone the fact that he’s your brother, but your resolve crumbles the moment he edges your panties to the side and slips a finger inside you.
“Still so wet for me,” he praises into your mouth with a low hum. “I missed you so much.”
You manage to disguise your cry as a whimper when he adds a second, curling them at the perfect angle that has you seeing stars. You come within minutes as whispered praise tumbles from Rafe’s lips, kissing you through your shuddering breaths.
“So pretty.”
“Good girl.”
“Missed watching you come for me.”
Removing his fingers, Rafe hurriedly tears into his shorts and pulls his weeping cock free. You begin to turn on the spot, ready to have him take you from behind, but his hand on your bicep stops you in your tracks.
“Wanna see you,” he husks, messily capturing your lips. He runs his spare hand over the curve of your ass and down the back of your thigh, encouraging you to lift it around his waist. You do so without complaint, your breath catching in your throat when the tip of his cock smooths through your wetness.
Rafe’s slow when he finally enters you, wanting to savour the moment as he stares down at you, a heady mixture of hunger and longing in his eye when he finally bottoms out.
You kiss him like a woman starved, tears wetting your cheeks as he fucks you. You can’t put into words how much you’ve missed this, missed being intimate with him, the ache in your chest slowly dissipating as unbridled joy begins to take over.
“Are you okay?” he mutters and you nod, encouraging him with a sharp tug on the nape of his neck.
“Don’t stop,” you whisper back, “please.”
He lets go of a feral growl against your lips, quickly urging you to lift your other leg up around his waist. You hop up, bark scratching your back as he pins you against the tree before resuming his pace.
“Missed you so fuckin’ much,” he breathes into your neck and you whine back a response, choked and raspy through your tears.
You’ve missed him more than you can ever express in words, so you do your best to mimic it with your touch. You tug and grab— his skin beneath yours silky soft as you pull him closer to you, like you’re trying to devour him through your flesh, absorb him into your bloodstream so he’s a part of you forever.
The coil in your stomach almost hurts before it unravels, and you’re shattering into a thousand rapturous pieces, Rafe’s name on your lips.
He soon follows, spilling inside you with a deep moan in the juncture of your neck. He drops you softly once his thrusts cease, giving you a sloppy but tender kiss as your feet hit the ground.
As he pulls away, the searing heat of his lips still tingling against yours, your eyes catch. He looks at you just like always, but there’s something different lingering beneath the hue of icy cobalt— a flicker of sadness you can’t quite put your finger on. You don’t question it, merely hold onto it, to remind yourself in the days when you’re alone that Rafe cares about you too, even if he’s terrible at showing it.
The moment is bittersweet as he grabs your hand, interlocking his fingers with yours and gives it a loving squeeze, like he doesn’t want to ever let go. There’s an unspoken unease between you as you walk separately back to the bonfire, the familiar horrible ache in your chest knowing that this won’t be the only time you share this summer, but one day it will be the last.

Let Me Go
Pairing: JJ x Reader

Masterlist
You weren’t always like this - sitting up in your unmade bed, staring at the blank wall in front of you like you could see through it, unshowered, trembling from your shoulders down to your toes, feeling empty from the inside out.
You forget what it’s like to be free. Following the death of your brother, you’ve been trapped like a rat in a cage. Figure Eight is no longer the luxurious part of the island to you. It’s filled with lies, manipulation, secrets, murder.
You’re still living at the Cameron’s. No, not living. Surviving. Ward refused to give his guardianship of you up. Some people wondered why - why would Ward want to live with the sister of a murderer? Yeah, that’s what they thought - that your brother killed Sheriff Peterkin and tried to kill Ward too. But you knew why.
Ward no longer treats you like a member of his family. He has you locked in your designated room on the third floor that’s basically only used as an attic and storage area. Your own personal prison. Because you know what he did - not only to your brother and his daughter but to your dad.
You felt like you were losing grasps of reality. You only knew fall was approaching because you could hear Wheezy talking about it to Rose outside your door. You guess the time of day by the sunlight through your window and the meals brought to your room.
Of course there have been times you tried to escape. You managed to run away a few times. The first time, you went straight to the police station and tried telling them that Ward was keeping you trapped in his home. Of course they didn’t believe you. Instead, they called Ward to come pick you up. He told the police that you’ve been experiencing delusions since the death of your brother. Without a second thought, they believed him and ignored your cries for help completely. The second time, you tried going to Kie’s, but the police found you first and brought you back to Ward’s now that they think you’re going through some kind of mental breakdown.
By now, you’re exhausted. You’re tired of fighting and arguing and screaming. You feel empty inside, craving some sort of release or embrace of comfort. You haven’t seen your Pogues in weeks, maybe months. You wonder if they still think about you. Do they blame you for leaving John B to go off by himself with Sarah? Do they hate you?
Not only is living inside an enclosed box hard enough, but dealing with the loss of your brother, friend, and father, is killing you inside. You can’t help but feel guilty that you weren’t with them. You and your brother were supposed to be partners in crime and you totally let him go off on his own. You feel like you abandoned him and that keeps you up at night.
Since your ways of coping are limited, you’re not proud to say you found an unhealthy way of relieving your pain.
When you were first locked up, you would scream and kick the door that hid you from the rest of the world, begging for anyone in the house to let you go. Never did it work, but one time Rafe got extremely fed up and raced upstairs to make you shut up. You didn’t know it, but Rafe was on the verge of a breakdown himself. His dad complete shut him out as he tried to fix the damage he caused. He assumed Sarah was dead. And Barry basically owned him, making him do all his dirty work. Maybe he deserved it, but he didn’t live a luxurious life either despite living in Figure Eight.
You took a couple steps back when you heard heavy footsteps approaching your door. Rafe quickly undid the locks and barged in so fast that he almost knocked you down.
“Oh my god. Do you ever shut the fuck up?” Rafe was breathing hard and quickly getting red in the face. You stumbled backwards, suddenly afraid of being alone with him.
You sniffled. “I need to get out of here.”
“You’re not leaving.”
“Please, Rafe. You got to get me out of here. Please!” You never thought you’d be here, begging Rafe of all people for help. Yet here you were. With no other choices left.
Rafe paced the room and raked his fingers through his hair. “You do realize you're not the only one going through something, right?”
You swallowed back your tears and scoffed at the Kook in front of you. “Seriously? Your family is keeping me locked in here like some kind of zoo animal! My brother is dead -”
“Sarah is too!”
“But that’s not my fault!” You screamed. You pointed an accusatory finger in his direction. “That’s yours!” Rafe froze and turned to look at you. You didn’t know where you grew the balls to keep going but you did. “I know what you did. I know what your dad is trying to cover up. And he’s using my brother to do it.” You saw Rafe’s adam’s apple bob up and down as he swallowed. “Why do you think your dad is keeping me locked in here?”
“Shit,” Rafe cursed. Now he knew why his dad gave him strict instructions to never come up to your room. He started shaking his his head and shaking in his skin. “I didn’t mean to - I - I - it happened so fast.”
You could go on and on about how Rafe would never be able to dig himself out of this hole. How he will never be able to convince you that he wasn’t guilty. But you didn’t. Because he’s the only one who could help you.
“Rafe, please,” You begged. “I won’t say anything. I just need to get out of here.”
Rafe sniffled back his own tears and fears and looked out the one window that looked out into the backyard of his home. He couldn’t let you go. He knew it was selfish, but he had to save himself.
“I can’t,” Rafe said.
A new wave of tears hit you and you felt defeated. You fell back on your bed and cried into your hands, hunched over above your knees.
“I’m sorry,” Rafe said, but his apology was as empty as you feel.
“Just go,” You rubbed your eyes hard enough to see stars.
You hear something light hit the bed next to you. “I know it’s not much. But this helps me get through all this messed up shit.”
When you didn’t look at him or whatever he gave you, he took that as a hint to leave and quietly left the room. You listened to each lock being fastened again, each one leaving a crack in your heart.
Rafe offered you something you should have never taken. A small baggie filled with fine white powder. You should have never even considered it. Drugs were never your thing. You wouldn’t even smoke with JJ when he offered a hit of whatever he was smoking. But the idea of anything taking your pain away enticed you.
And that’s how you ended up here. Broken, alone, and craving something only Rafe could supply you with. Literally. He came around every so often, sliding a small baggie under the door for you. It was the closest thing you and Rafe had to a friendship.
Today was particularly a bad day. It was dark and rainy outside and you remembered John B’s birthday should be quickly approaching. You missed him. God, did you miss him. You would do anything to hear his voice again or steal his clothes or go surfing in the ocean with him.
You trudged out of bed towards your dresser that held a faint line of coke left over from yesterday. With a one dollar bill, you sniffed the rest of it up your nose and blinked back the sting of tears that pricked your eyes after you did it. A rush of energy sparked up your body, through your toes and up to your head. You immediately felt lighter and that the world was spinning a little faster. But with that rush came a surge of emotions. You went from being sad to being angry real fast.
You hated Ward. You hated Shoupe. You hated this house. You hated Kooks. You hated yourself. You hated everything about the Outer banks. You just wanted to leave.
You find the closest thing to you, a small makeup mirror, and smash it against one of the locks on the door. You’ve done this hundreds of times and by now the door was scratched and bruised from your abuse, but you didn’t care. You didn’t feel the glass of the mirror slice into your skin as you continued to bang it on the metal lock. You didn’t care if Ward and the others heard you throwing another temper tantrum. You just wanted out.
When you felt the lock stumble to the side of the door, you froze in your place. You stared at the broken lock, wondering if this was all a dream or a hallucination from your high. “No fucking way,” You mumbled. You looked down at the door knob and repeated the same movements until the handle completely fell off and clattered to the floor.
You dropped the mirror and stuck two fingers through the hole in the door where the door knob use to be. While holding your breath, you slowly pulled the door open and couldn’t believe when it moved without any hiccup.
You never thought that you would get this far, and now that you were here, you didn’t know what to do. You felt scared. Cautiously, you stuck your head out to make sure no one was in the hallway. When the coast was clear, you tip toed throughout the house, listening to the eery silence that filled it. No one was home.
When you passed Rafe’s room, you stopped. You were out of supply and you needed more. Rafe owed you anyway, you told yourself. So you ransacked his room. Found about four more small baggies and stuffed them in your pocket before leaving.
As you walk through the halls, you pass Ward’s office and paused. It was open and unlocked. Even before all this shit happened, you never remember it being this way. You didn’t know what it was. Maybe it was the adrenaline from another escape attempt or maybe it was the cocaine, but you walked yourself into that office and looked around.
You cursed at all the accomplishments hanging on his wall, the trophies, and expensive relics of random shit. His desk was neat and orderly despite the major crime he was trying to cover up. You sat yourself in his chair, trying to imagine what it felt like to be him. Motherfucker probably felt like a king.
You went through his drawers, thumbing through random files you had no business looking through - most of it work related stuff and banking information. You tucked that one in your pocket for later.
Then you hear something thump against the drawer when you pull it out. A revolver. Small and silver. Cold against your fingertips. You breath hitched as you brought it up to your face. It felt like you were holding a bomb. An object that could change your life forever. Another fresh set of tears threatened to roll down your face but you shook them away. No. No more being sad.
You shut the drawer hard and walked out with a couple new items in your possession.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
The Pogues were spending another dreary day at The Wreck. The September sun might be out, but their spirits were down. Two of their best friends are dead and the other is trapped with two murderers. They were scared for you and have tried everything to get you back. They tried talking to the cops, they tried breaking her out. But each times the cops got in the way. They were running out of hope. At this point, they didn’t even know if they would ever see you again. They just hoped you were okay. They knew you tried escaping a few times and prayed that you would eventually get yourself out of there soon.
“JJ, you gotta eat,” Kie sighed as she watched JJ play with the fries in front of him. If anyone was handing it the worst, it was JJ. Both John B and Y/N were his best friends first. Hell, he was in love with Y/N. Had been since the sixth grade. One of his biggest regrets is that he never told you. Now he didn’t know if he ever would.
“’M not hungry,” JJ mumbled.
The door above the restaurant entrance rang as a couple of police officers walked in for their lunch break. The group of three glared at them as they walked in with their cocky stride and their hand resting on their tasers and guns as if everyone should be scared of them.
“Fucking cops can’t do their goddamn job,” JJ sat back in his seat and flicked one of his fries down on the table. He hated them. More than he ever had. He couldn’t believe these people took an oath to protect this county. Fucking cowards, all of them.
“Fucking assholes,” Kie said and watched her father approach them with a friendly smile.
Pope snapped up when an idea popped into his head. “Sarah’s sister.”
“What?” Kie’s brows furrowed.
“School starts next week,” Pope explained. “She’s starting high school, right? What if you tried talking to her? Maybe you can -”
Pope paused when he heard the sound of the police radios echoing off the walls from their belts.
“Code10-92. Runaway teen last reported on Baker’s Street. Proceed with caution. Last seen wearing black sports shorts and a white tank. Suspect may be armed and dangerous.”
JJ’s head snapped back to his friends with his brows pinched together. Could this be you? Could you have made it out again? But what did armed and dangerous mean? That didn’t sound like you.
Shoupe radioed back to the station. “On our way.”
The officers dropped ten dollars in the tip jar before charging out the door to go to their vehicles.
“We gotta go,” JJ stood up first and stuffed his phone and keys into his pocket. The other two nod and follow him out the door. If that call was about you, they wanted to find you before the cops did. “Okay. Kie, go home. She tried going to your house last time. Maybe she’ll try that again. Pope, go to Heyward’s. She trusts your dad. She might try to find him for help.”
“Where are you going to go?” Pope asked.
“Everywhere else.”
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
You trudged through your old home with heavy feet. Nothing in there felt familiar to you - like it belonged to you in another life time. You first went to your room and stared at the girl in the mirror. You didn’t recognize her. Bones sticking out of your skin, dark bags under the eyes, and cracked lips and dry skin.
Without thinking, you took the gun that’s still in your hand and smashed it against the glass, shattering it all around you.
Ignoring the stinging in your hands from the shallow cuts on your skin, you moved on to the next room. Your brother’s room. It looked like a tornado made its way through here. Everything was tossed and turned from the police and FBI ransacking it during their search for John B. Nothing felt like it was John B’s anymore. Nothing felt private. And that pissed you off.
Next you went to your dad’s office, somewhere you haven’t been since you found the compass. Even now, it felt like you weren’t supposed to be in here. If you believed in an afterlife, you would think your dad would be shaking his head at you.
The office looked like John B’s room did. Whatever belonged to your dad now belonged to the state. The only things left were random files and belongings the police didn’t find of importance. But they were important to you.
The first thing you found was a picture in a cracked frame of you, your dad, and your brother from when you were ten. Your dad was holding both of you as you blew out the candles on a birthday cake. Looking at the picture, you felt your heart being shredded apart. The picture only brought back pain and grief. You wanted that happiness back that ten year old you portrayed in that picture. But you can’t have it. Ever again.
A cry ripped through your throat as you chucked the picture across the room. From there, you went on a rampage, throwing and kicking anything that was in your way. You took one of the baggies out of your pocket and dumped it on the desk in front of you. Without any precision, you fixed the lines up with your finger and took a long whiff. You gripped the roots of your hair and tugged as you sobbed loudly and felt one of the biggest headaches explode in your brain.
You paced back and forth in the office with the gun held in your shaky hands. You were mumbling to yourself about your options and how horrible of a sister and daughter you were for leaving your family behind. You wanted to see them. You wanted to be with them and prove to them you never meant to abandon them.
You didn’t hear the door to the Chateau open or the sound of footsteps following your cries. It wasn’t until you heard his soft, delicate voice that you turned around and stared at your best friend with wide eyes and a startled expression.
“Y/N...” JJ breathed out. He didn’t see the gun yet. He just saw you, crying and broken and not looking like the girl he knew only a few months ago.
“What are you doing here?” He didn’t recognize your voice either. Hoarsed and scared. “You’re not supposed to be here!”
“The cops are looking for you! Okay? We need to get you out of here!”
“I’m not leaving!”
“What?” JJ looked at you like you grew two heads. “What are you talking about. We -”
“No! I said I’m not leaving! Agh!” Your hands flew up to your pulsating head and gripped at your hair again. The pounding in your head was excruciating and wouldn’t go away. Between the cocaine, your cries, and the exhaustion, you didn’t think it would ever go away.
That’s when JJ saw the gun and took a shocking step back. His hands immediately flew up in surrender and he gulped down his nerves. Now he knew why the cops had called you armed and dangerous. Probably because Ward reported a stolen gun. JJ never knew you to be a violent person. It wasn’t in you. You couldn’t even hurt a fly. Which meant you didn’t steal this gun to hurt someone else. But probably...
Then his eyes flickered to the desk where he saw the reside of white powder next to an empty baggie. Now he was petrified because he didn’t know how to get through to you - if he even could get through to you.
“Y/N, baby. Put the gun down.”
“No,” You shook you head. “No, no, no. I need to see them. I need to see my dad and John B!”
“Y/n...”
“I should’ve gone with them. I should’ve - I - I didn’t mean to leave. I’m so-sorry, John B. I’m so sorry.” You were a mess. Tears and snot and running all over your red and puffy face.
JJ kept looking between you and the gun. His only comfort was that he knew you didn’t know how to use it. You wouldn’t even touch the one he stole from Scooter Grubs. But that didn’t mean accidents couldn’t happen.
“I can’t do it anymore,” You continued. “I can’t go back there. I won’t. I won’t. I just want to see my dad.”
JJ took a hesitant step closer to you and nodded his head, keeping his hands up. “Okay. Okay. What if I helped you see your dad?”
“H-How?” You hiccuped. JJ didn’t know where he was going with this. He just knew he had to get that gun out of your hand. He took another step closer to you, but this one made you jump back. “No! No! Stay away!”
“Okay, okay!” JJ yelled back at you. “Hey. I’m here to help you, okay? Whatever you want to do.”
“I want to see them. I want to say sorry. I - I’m so sorry.”
“Y/N, they’re not mad at you-”
“I’m sorry, daddy, I -”
With you distracted, JJ took the opportunity to run at you and tackle you to the ground. He ignored the pang in his heart when he heard you cry harder, wondering if he hurt you, but he cared more about keeping you alive. He wrestled the gun out of your hands and quickly emptied the cartridge. He chucked the multiple pieces across the room and wrapped himself around your crumpled body.
“No! No!” You shrieked in JJ’s shoulder and gripped onto his shirt for dear life. “Please! Let me go!”
JJ held on to your crumbling body as you wracked with sobs. Exhaustion quickly took over you as the adrenaline slowly vanished out of your system. Your throat was on fire from all the crying and the screaming. Your chest felt empty and your lungs heavy. All you wanted was to close your eyes and never open them again.
JJ couldn’t hold back his own silent tears as they ran down his cheeks. He hated seeing you like this. And he hated even more that he didn’t know how to help you.
“It’s going to be okay,” He said as he brushed the hair out of your face. He kissed the top of your head with his soft lips and kept mumbling into your head. “You’re going to be okay. I’m never leaving your side again. It’s going to be okay.”
He didn’t know if he was trying to convince you or himself. He jus knew he had to make you believe it.
About ten minutes later, he felt your body relax against his. When he found you fast asleep, he pulled out his phone and texted Kie to pick the two of you up.
Until Kie got there, he stared at the delicate skin on your face with such admiration. Rage bubbled through this veins as the ideas of what you possibly went through in the that hell hole in Figure Eight.
He knew it was going to be a long road to recovery. He knew there was a lot of fixing that needed to be done. But he made a promise that he will never let you out of his sights again. Because today was a close call. And he never wanted you to be that close to death ever again.

Outer Banks season 2 Official Trailer shot-by-shot rundown
A comprehensive post where I scream about analyze the entire trailer frame by frame for clues, theories, and plot. Just my own opinions and general tin foil-hatting
These are screenshots from Netflix’s trailer for Outer Banks season 2. I do not claim or own any of these.
note: this post is tagged as a long post if you wish to avoid having to scroll until your thumbs break.
“My old man used to tell me, ‘it’s best to never say you’ve hit rock bottom’.”
(Putting all of these shots together since they’re scenes we already know but-) Holy shit, okay let’s just....start off like this I guess, damn.
“'Trust me’, he said...”
Kiara looking back and forth between the boys like this really just feeds the headcanon I have that her form of grief this season is going to be her trying to hold it together for their sakes (and eventually just snapping).
JJ just looks fucking furious someone give these kids a hug? I already know this scene is going to ruin me.
“You can always go...”
JJ back working at the hotel. He looks literally so angry again in this scene I could see him self destructing at work and losing his job? (Please do not be isolating yourself you beautiful son of a bitch even though I know you’re going to).
Pope in the Twinkie (costuming wise they all are in warmer looking clothes for some of the shots, so just confirming it’s a little bit into the school year when this all takes place).
“Lower”
Big John was real big into pep talks, I see. (seriously can you imagine Big John having this conversation with like 8 year old John B after he fucking dropped his ice cream cone or some shit I shouldn’t be laughing).
I’m just-
These poor kids, I wanna know how the police all the way down in the Bahama’s knew about them?
Their calves....
“RUN!”
Are going to be so fucking jacked by the end of this season I stg.
Fuck you.
“The gold from the Royal Merchant....it’s here.”
For a while, I had thought that maybe they didn’t even make it to the Bahama’s at the front of the season and ended there (because everyone had been filming in there). But I guess they’re going to be making two trips.
If I were a bird from this POV I’d shit right on that house no questions asked.
oooooh ho hokay. Just so we’re clear. Ward Cameron not only get away with murder and about two dozen other felonies, but-
“Half a billion.”
HE STILL FINDS THE GOLD IN THE CRAIN HOUSE AND GETS TO KEEP IT?
Not the polo with the snap back, I just know this man has a playlist called Sad Boi Hours that is just Juice WRLD’s top 5 songs on Spotify and he tells his friends they wouldn’t know the underground artists he listens to.
Sh, you have lost screaming privileges. Go inside and take a nap maybe.
“John B, we are fugitives in a foreign country.”
So, previously, I was talking about how I was confused how they would still be trying to find him is everyone thought he was dead, but here the wanted poster clearly says “presumed lost at sea”. I think that will be interesting to see how the Pogues all interpret that.
Especially because they already had a memorial for John B and everything, I wonder if there will be any part of the Pogues holding out hope that they both could still be out there OUCH.
I’m going to circle back to this, but it looks like John B and Sarah are going to get separated for a little while in this man hunt, I could see my idiot himbo son trying to sacrifice himself so Sarah can get away but in reality just....stranding her.
“Promise me you won’t do anything stupid?”
Oh, sweetie....
“Well, Sarah Cameron, I do stupid things all the time without realizing it.”
The volume of his self awareness is astronomical. sir, that is your whole character summed up in your own words.
GOD, IT’S ME AGAIN. PLEASE LET THEM LEAN INTO COMPLETE HIMBO JOHN B THIS SEASON I’LL DO ANYTHING-
nyyooooOOOOOOOOOOOOM-
“Hold on!”
The complete abject terror I would feel having John Booker Routledge driving get-away and then saying the words “Hold on” while reaching fro the gear shift? The english language fails me.
Sarah, bestie, I’m so sorry.
I just wanna know-
what the plan or objective was in this situation. What was the reason for being this dramatic.
Rest in piss, bozo <3
“Ward’s still out there...”
Okay, same conversation they were having as before. I wonder what makes them decide they need to get back to the OBX for this tho.
“I can clear my name. This can all be over in one shot.”
It looks like Topper watching this but way more concerningly, correct me if I’m wrong but this 100% looks like....John B gets caught. And the DEATH PENALTY?! He did have a mug shot for the fliers in s1 and the one above but he was never brought in? Plus he just looks super dirty and dishevled in this one so I-
Jail break anyone?
I also still want to know if they’re going to go with a Topper redemption arc this season. like, does he know more than he should just from being around Rafe and his big fat mouth? Is he going to help out the Pogues even if it’s just for Sarah?
This shot just suddenly made me really sad. The thought of this all started because Big John left one last thing for his son to find, his literal life’s work. And when it all started, it was just a fun adventure John B and his best friends were going on together and having fun with. Then it all got dragged to absolute shit and turned into what it did, including the remaining 3 Pogues thinking that this treasure hunt took their two best friends away from them. And it’s nothing like Big John intended it to be.
Why my eyes wet?
Now we’re edging into what I was talking about earlier with John B and Sarah getting separated.
“If you think there is anything I wouldn’t do...”
Once again, John B is no where to be found. Also, just in case y’all didn’t already know or forgot Ward is an actual psychopath.
I believe this one of the new character, played by Jontavious Johnson (Stubbs). Based on the voice over it lowkey sounds like they’re implying Ward maybe hired Stubbs and Cleo to find and bring Sarah back. My theory would be I bet they do go to retrieve her, but she somehow convinces them that it would be more beneficial for them in the end to be on the Pogue’s side instead.
Miss Girl you gotta be keeping your head on a SWIVEL. Especially when you’re a FUGITIVE of the LAW-
“...you haven’t been paying attention.”
My guy, who are you clarifying this for?
It’s what you deserve for monologuing.
in all seriousness, the idea of them coming to face to face with Ward in Nassau after thinking they finally escaped him is genuinely terrifying.
“SARAH!”
It kind of looks like they’re either hiding their faces or covering their noses? I don’t know maybe it was from some tactic to get away from Ward.
What did I literally jsut say about yelling privileges, you unhinged mother fucker?
“I’m calling the shots now. I’m driving.”
The following progression of scenes made me actually snort-
“I can’t drive stick.”
PLEASE THE FINGER GUNS LAUNCHED ME INTO ORBIT I LOVE THEM, YOUR HONOR.
Alright, so now it looks like we’re in Charleston. This is the same scene with Heyward’s truck that got leaked from BTS (read: JJ and Kie shoulder touch).
One of the main things that stuck out to me in the following scenes which, you will see, is it lowkey looks like Pope is kind of heading up this part of the operation, or even going in alone? The following clips are just very Pope focused.
I don’t know what it means, it’s just an observation.
“John B was not the only one that Ward double-crossed.”
LIMBRY-
Bro, we have been hearing about this woman for literal months and I just have....so many questions?
Who the hell is she? How is she connected to Ward? Why is she in South Carolina instead of the OBX? How do the Pogues even learn about her and how to track her down? How is she meant to “help” them? GAH I JUST WANNA KNOOOW. I already know I don’t trust her though and no I will not be offering up supporting evidence.
Sir, that is my son please unhand him.
“I think you know what I want.”
.......no? But feel....free to explain yourself?
The print on the paper is the same one that’s on the ceiling tiles in the following scene. Obviously, with a key on it that most likely goes to the place a few shots from now.
Hell yeah, son, let’s get SLEUTHING.
“The treasure belongs to the Pogues.”
DAMN STRAIGHT.
Bestie’s I’m not going to lie, I stared at this frame for a solid 10 minuets and I have no idea what it says on there I’m sorry. Someone in the comments is welcome to enlighten us.
“We gotta find it first.”
I can’t tell if that’s just dirt or if he hurt his head? But he look GOOD right now for one thing. For another, same outfit as the one in the Twinkie from the beginning of the trailer.
Look at her. LooK AT HER! LOOK! AT! HER! I MISSED HER SO MUCH even in that damn smiley face top that continues to haunt my waking hours she is in it so much and it stresses me out for literally no good reason I’m sorry-
I could literally cry right now and I think that speaks volumes to how little we actually see him genuinely happy. Have I mentioned how much I love that red hat?
Also, probably not that important, but this is not from the same scene as the shots of Pope and Kiara were. This is from the next one-
“Woogity-woogity?”
“Give me some woogity, baby!”
Yeah, this pushed me over the fucking edge, the way that they’re actually happy and laughing? The fact that they kept woogity-woogity and made it A Thing? Yes.
I am, however, going to be intentionally ignoring what appears to be the very intentional stagingof having such an obvious space between where Kiara and Pope are sitting adn where JJ sits, even including the level they’re sitting on because I don’t have the emotional capacity to face those implications right now. Thank you for your time.
Yes yeeeeEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!
GIVE ME ALL OF THE SCENES OF THEM ACTUALLY GETTING TO BE TEENAGERS AND JUST BREATHE AND LAUGH AND HAVE A GOOD TIME AND NOT BE RUNNING FOR THEIR FUCKING LIVES!!!!!!!!!!!
before Rafe comes in and literally starts shooting because they can’t breathe for more than 7 seconds but we’ll....get to that.
They refer to Sarah as a Pogue this season or I burn Netflix to the ground. Your move, Jonas.
50 bucks says John B is driving the Twinkie again for the first time since being back.
I deadass think the Pogues JUST got Sarah and John B back and they’re just having the time of their life. Kie was in her smiley face outfit when Pope was in this one a few clips ago, and I still hold to the belief that that one still they released of JJ and Kie hopping over a fence is the Pogue reunion so-
Ward? I have no idea what he’s looking at behind the wall paper and I’ll be so honest I don’t care my eyes are only seeing Pogue content right now.
“This is a map of the whole island.”
This fit, when will John B learn how to operate buttons, stay tuned for season 5. Also my previous theory of this being their reunion outfits and stuff because Pope is in the back in the same jacket as before.
The plot thickens and so has JJ’s hair, Rudy drop the shampoo brand.
Please, dear God, tell me they’re back in the sex church. For @jiaaraa sake.
Kiara, your Madison is showing.
Okay, I really did try but all I can make out is Something to the tomb begin something something.
You’re welcome.
I am no expert but I do not believe boats operate on land.
John B looks like he is in the same outfit here that is in his mug shot we saw on the TV screen so I have a sneaking suspicion this is where he gets caught.
“John B is back-”
Once again with the damn sexual tension that’s always between Barry and Rafe in every scene they do are we about to kiss right now?
“-it’s him or me.”
First of all, no.
Second of all, I’m just....so very confused about this time line this season. It kind of looks like Ward and Rafe follow and find Sarah and John B in Nassau (unless those scenes by the truck were actually back in the OBX). So did they....go to Nassau, then just come right back when they did? I’m just confused.
Put that thing back where it came from or so help me.
Literally when will you stop at this point I am begging you.
This looks like the same scene the Pogues were, ya know, literally just having a good time at so fuck me, I guess.
Yeah, no, it’s going to be a no from me, I’m just going to pretend like I’m not seeing this and moving on.
I have simply no idea what is going on here or who that is on the bike but maybe JJ? Maybe Luke even? I think that’s JJ’s bike.
The sewer scene. The SEWER SCENE-
For months sicne that tiktok leaked this damn scene has been genuinely all I could think about. So (obviously) it seems like they’re sending Kie down into the sewer to go do seomthing and things go horribly, horribly wrong.
If you haven’t seen the tiktok, essentially all it was was JJ and Pope screaming and trying to lift up the man hole cover while Kie is begging for them to hurry from inside. I’m cheating a little bit as this isn’t a shot from the trailer but this picture was posted and it’s from the same scene.
I’ll just....leave this here. Back to the trailer shots.
Nice. Also, same shirt as mugshot.
Hey, um, what?
Kiara’s car, she’s driving, I can’t tell who’s in the back seat or the front.
Holy God what is going on and how can I as an audience member put a stop to it?
So, same scene as we will see and was in the teaser but, for some reason, they’re all jumping off of a giant ass boat into the little life raft where it looks like JJ gets hurt later but don’t you worry we’re getting to that.
JJ AND KIARA WITH THE POGUE HANDSHAKE JJ AND KIARA WITH THE POGUE HANDSHAKE THEY BOTH LOOK SO DAMN GOOD AND THEIR LITTLE SMILES SPARE ME-
Cleo 🥵
I’m so excited to see her arc and what it brings this season you guys have no idea.
Please for the love of God be about to get Ward Cameron’s ass like he deserves literally punt him into jail right from Tanny Hill.
Sarah at My Druther’s with what looks like a bloody bandage on her side? Same outfit she’s wearing when they’re running from the police on the beach and she has the bandage there too so. Interesting.
Topper hugging who I’m pretty sure is Sarah, being a general douche because he’s clearly looking at John B like 😏
Clips like these serve to remind me just how many of my worldly posessions I would gladly give up to be able to punch Topper Thorton in the throat one time.
I think this is Cleo jumping off the boat with Pope after John B and Sarah.
Absolutely busting a lung at Pope’s form in this one.
John B and Sarah waiting in the life raft, still Cleo and Pope coming after them. The obvious next question is where are JJ and Kiara. The scene I’m sure you all have been waiting for is coming up and clearly takes place in the life raft as well.
So, I really think JJ and Kie get left for last, something horrible happens as they’re trying to jump (my head instantly goes to JJ maybe like pushing Kie out of the way and getting hit on the head instead or even just some accident).
And, oh my GOD a scene of him falling off the boat after it happens and Kiara diving in after him immediately, having to desperatly try to stop him from sinkingand get to the life raft holy shit-
Girl CATCH HIM?????
Because why wouldn’t this be Rafe’s fault. Part of me wonders if this isn’t related to JJ being hurt.
I am going to try and unpack this as calmly as possible because behind my computer screen I am vibrating at a frequency that could shatter glass but respectfully.
WHAT IN THE FUCK IS TIAUEWFHLAILA
Okay, so scene wise, JJ’s hit his head somehow (probably while he was jumping with Kiara) it looks like and now they’re back on the raft.
In my opinion, this is either:
A) JJ is in really, really bad condition after getting hurt in the jump and they’re not sure he’s going to make it. So this is a “Please stay with me, stay awake, please don’t die” hug OR
B) They very narrowly just avoided a deadly situation (my first thought is JJ hits his head while jumping, passes out in the water, maybe almost drowns but Kie and the others get him onto the life raft in time) and this is more of a “Oh my God, you’re okay, you’re safe now, we’re okay” hug.
I honestly lean more to the second one based on the little bit of Sarah’s face we saw in the background. To me, it almost looked like she was smiling thru tears, which, fits way more with the second option than the first.
Anyways. Moving on before I burst a lung again.
(also, before anyone comes at me, no, I’m not happy JJ is hurt, obviously.
(Once again, arrest outfits). You can still see the bandage but it looks like Sarah’s limping now too so...good Lord give the girl a break maybe?
Everything in this trailer just went to shit so fast I think I have whip lash, can we go back to the Pogues hanging out and being happy now pkease I liked those scenes.
“I get it. You guys are scared.”
“No.”
She’s cute but, uh, hello sewer scene outfits. Seems like them planning to do whatever the hell they were going to do in the sewers but the boys are starting to get cold feet as maybe they should but hind sight is 20/20 I suppose.
“It’s kind of cute.”
“I’m not scared.”
“You should’ve just led with that.”
I will never be able to express how much I adore Pogue banter and general dumbassery and I have a feeling this season will not be lacking in either department
I high key don’t think these two are actually going to be there for this scene to go down but I’ll let it slide this time because-
They do be kinda cute.
It both feels like I’ve been waiting for this damn show for 3 years and also like I just watched season 1 last month explain that to me.
Either way holy shit. I missed this dumb show and these dumb kids so much it physcially hurts and WE GET THEM BACK IN T-MINUS 16 DAYS.

lemonade and star-crossed lovers, p1 (JJ Maybank)
Warnings: none yet, swearing? all core characters are aged up to 18, Rafe is 21.
JJ Maybank x kook!reader (super super slow burn) (this will hopefully be a series)
WC: 4.0k
Growing up, Y/N always heard jokes about how the eldest daughter was just the mum in a different font. She never used to believe it, but that was when she had present and dedicated parents. Now, it just seemed that with every addition to the Miller family, the less interested Kevin and Julie Miller became.
So here Y/N was, practically a mother to her three younger siblings.
Dylan is only a year younger than Y/N but is no less of a hassle, especially when his useless friends decide to crash at their place. But considering they had the most hectic house of Dylan’s friendship group, the Miller household was usually the last option.
Then there’s Anderson, he’s in his rebellious phase currently, getting to that point where he’s figured out that acting out could maybe get the attention of his parents. Though Y/N wasn’t sure how well his plans were working out.
Peach is the youngest and practically attached to Y/N’s hip. To an untrained eye, Y/N often looked like a teen mum as she took Peach with her to the grocery shopping. In fact, Y/N was sure that if the kooks in Figure Eight didn’t know her family, they’d sneer at her with the same ignorance that clouded their entire lives.
Y/N woke up glad - it’s the last day of school. Summer break looms. The idea of boneyard keggers and hot (but equally clueless) tourons, excited the girl. But she knew her summer reality would be looking after Peach, bailing Anderson out of jail and swatting away the affections of Dylan’s stupid friends.
—————————————
Dylan is already awake when Y/N comes knocking, taking extra close care to his hair.
“Oh, you’re up,” Y/N said, moving to ruffle his hair and grab the empty plate on his bedside cabinet.
“Jesus, fuck Y/N, was that really necessary?”
“Hey maybe if you spent more time on assignments than your hair you wouldn’t have to take so many summer classes - oh yeah, mum might not remember, but I do, and you will be going.”
“But it’s summer, surely it’s a violation to my human rights to go to school.”
“I’m sure you’ll survive, and maybe when you finally pass this year, you’ll thank me. Breakfast in 10.”
Dylan just flips his sister off, going back to admiring himself in the mirror.
Y/N next goes to Peach’s room to find her awake and rummaging through her draws.
“Hey, princess, what are you thinking for the last day? Third grade finished already, you’ll be my age soon, wheeling me into the retirement home.”
Peach erupts into giggles, pulling out a little pink summer dress and grabbing her pink sandals to complete the ensemble.
“All pink, we love. Breakfast in 10, alright, don’t want you to be late for the last day.”
Anderson’s room is last, Y/N doesn’t bother knocking on her parent’s door. Kevin is probably already down on Judy - his beloved boat. The room is typical of a 14 year old boy, it stunk, his weed paraphernalia was badly hidden and there was a lump of pillows under the cover instead of a boy.
Shrugging, Y/N picked up the dirty mugs in his room and moved downstairs. She’d been awake nearly an hour now but was still unsure of what to make for breakfast. Opening the fridge gave her the only possible answer, leftover pizza from the previous night and maybe a porridge pot, though considering there were only two siblings to account for, it would do.
Dylan and Peach joined her in the kitchen shortly after, each taking a slice or two of pizza.
“No Anderson and pizza for breakfast? Watch out, we'll be calling CPS as soon as we’re outside.“
“You don’t know where the bug is? Why does that boy insist on giving me early onset cardiac issues?”
“Don’t take it too to heart, I’m sure he’ll turn up by the second period.”
“Okay, go to school now. Dylan, are you okay to drop Peach off, I’ll pick her up.”
Dylan nods and ushers the youngest out of the door and to his car. Y/N lets out a sigh when she sees them leave the driveway and makes her way to the back door. Through the sliding door she can see her dad, Kevin on Judy instructing John B, the kid who worked on the boat, what to do. Y/N puts two slices of pizza on a plate and grabs an apple and ventures out to the dock.
“Morning Y/N.”
“Morning, John B, can I interest you in an apple? It’s all we have I’m afraid.”
“No worries, any breakfast is breakfast when you’re a pogue.”
“Oh John B, you know I don’t believe in all that sub-par class warfare bullshit.”
“Of course you don’t, but that’s very easy to say when you’re on the other side.”
“Touche.”
Y/N doesn’t say anymore, but moves to give her dad his breakfast. She liked John B and hoped he didn’t see her like the other kooks. Sure Rafe Cameron frequented her house, but she’s nothing like him.
“Thanks, squirt.”
Despite the nickname, Kevin was absent as ever, not moving to look at her.
“You’re children are off to school, don’t worry.”
Silence.
“Oh thank you Y/N, I really don’t know what we’d do without you! You’re such a gem, you’re really unappreciated and we don’t deserve you! Thanks dad, I really needed to hear that. Are you coming later?”
“Where?” Kevin grunted, with pizza in his mouth.
“My graduation? Did you forget that was today?”
The awkward silence was enough of an answer for Y/N.
“Sorry squirt, I promised to go to the mainland to pick something up for your mother.”
With that, Y/N stormed off Judy, towards the house and into her room. When she sat down on her bed she could think about what just happened. She knew her parents didn’t care about her, but missing their first child’s graduation for a small errand to the mainland?
Now that the house was quiet again, she could get ready - she was graduating today and as valedictorian she wants to look her best. Julie, her mum, is in Washington on some mysterious job venture, Y/N wasn’t told until she came down in the morning a few days ago and saw Julie with her suitcases. She guessed that one positive of her parents’ absenteeism is her ability to steal Julie’s expensive jewelry to wear.
Y/N looked in the mirror, she did clean up nice when she wanted to. Her lengthy hair is in a half-up, half-down style, with minimal makeup and a red knee-length dress. The dress hugged her figure and complemented her graduation gown perfectly. Too bad none of her family would be there to see it. She knew deep down that Peach and Dylan would’ve attended if possible, and Anderson would maybe even make an appearance, especially if there was food involved.
Y/N put her matching red heels on and grabbed her cap from her closet. After one final look in the mirror and putting her printed speech into her bag, the young girl made her way down the stairs.
To her surprise, none other than John B sat in her kitchen drinking a glass of water.
“You clean up nice kook,” said John B, a smug smirk on his face.
“Thank you, John. Don’t you have graduation today?”
“Eh, yeah. I’m just going for the food though, school isn’t really my thing…” John B looked closer at her cap. “I’m practically the opposite to you Miss Valedictorian”.
“Hmm, well at least someone in this house noticed, thank you John B. I’m going now, I didn’t notice your van out front, you need a lift to yours?”
“Is that really on your way, wouldn’t want Miss Valedictorian to be late to her own event, you got a speech ready?”
“I do as a matter of fact, but I want to be just on time, minimise the time people have to ask about the whereabouts of my parents. So, do you want a lift or not?”
“Sure thing, Miss Valedictorian.”
Y/N doesn’t acknowledge the nickname, but secretly loved it, it was a joke, but at least someone was appreciating her achievements. Peach would, she knows, but she’s not really at the point of understanding what it means and the others really are wildcards.
She led John B out to her small car, a baby blue Beetle. The boy smiled at her choice in car,
“I’m sure that a kook like you could afford better than this.”
“Don’t insult Shelby in her presence, weren’t you ever taught manners? Now get it and give me directions.”
The drive was fun, not that John B would tell Y/N that. He enjoyed her music choice, Mac Miller blasting from her speakers and the windows were fully rolled down, damned be her hair.
Y/N neared the chateau and came to a stop. There were a few people sitting on the porch, looking over in confusion.
“Yo, what’s with the kook-mobile, John B?” The blonde yelled from his seat on the beaten-up couch.
When John B only turned to Y/N to say thank you, the interest peaked on the porch. The little gang of pogues moved towards the car.
“John B, I didn’t realise your job came with a taxi service, why did I have to drop you off this morning?” The blonde, once again.
“Lay off JJ, this is Y/N Miller, she’s the daughter of Kevin, the guy whose boat I work on. She’s on her way to her graduation and offered me a lift.”
“Since when are kook graduations on the Cut?” The other boy interjected.
Y/N decided to speak up, “if I knew an act of kindness would cause so much strife, I’ll just let you walk home next time. Now, I do have somewhere to be, so it was nice to see you, John B. I'm sure I’ll see you again this week.”
“Bye Miss Valedictorian, good luck with your speech,” John B said, getting out of Shelby.
“You’re the valedictorian?” Kiara finally spoke, face shocked.
“Yeah, surprising what happens when you show up for school right?” Y/N snapped, angrier than she intended.
“Oh yeah, sorry. I guess I thought that maybe Sarah would get it, especially if Ward has anything to do with it.” Kiara grimaced, she didn’t mean to offend the Miller girl.
“You can’t buy the valedictorian title, well I’m sure you could, but not to flex, but my grades were miles better. If we’re being really ironic though, Ward technically does pay for the valedictorian,” Y/N said with a smile, not meaning to brandish her academic success in their faces.
A chorus of “huhs?” from the pogues surrounding her car told Y/N that they weren’t catching her drift.
“I’m Ward Cameron’s assistant. Sorry, I didn’t make that very clear.”
“You have a job, but you’re a kook?” the blonde, JJ, said.
“Yes, blondie, some of us do have to look out for ourselves, didn’t your parents tell you not to judge a book by its cover. I’ll see you around. Bye John B.”
Y/N backed out of the road, heading back to Figure Eight, with her graduation starting in 10 minutes, she had massively overstayed her welcome at John B’s. If she weren’t so busy, Y/N always thought she’d like to be friends with John B and his crew, they had an unmistakable family bond that Y/N craved. She loves her siblings but they are still grappling with the idea of give and take, mainly fixating on the taking aspect.
Y/N pulled up to school, and took out her phone, dropping a text to Anderson pleading with him to at least make it to two classes today. Even with her phone safely away in her bag, Y/N couldn’t quite bring herself to get out of the car. Happy families surrounded her everywhere she looked, she couldn’t handle the stares when she walks in alone. Well, it’s now or never she says to herself.
Walking isn’t as bad as she suspects, Mr Morgan, her English teacher, meets her at the door and takes her to her seat, explaining the mechanisms of the ceremony and when she’ll make her speech.
The hall, however, is the reminder that Y/N was dreading. The two seats she had booked for her parents sat empty, standing out like a sore thumb in the packed hall. She made her way to the student section with her head down. However, before Y/N could sit she was apprehended by an excitable Sarah Cameron.
“Y/N! Hi! I heard you’re valedictorian, well done! I don’t know how you managed, with all the work and your siblings, you really are amazing.”
“Thanks, Sarah.”
The words sting, despite their pure intentions. She’s a kook, she shouldn’t have to work, and she should have parents who care for her and her siblings, but some things just aren’t meant to be, clearly. Y/N sat in her assigned seat and willed the ceremony to go fast, though she wasn’t looking too forward to her speech. The diversion to the chateau meant that Y/N had no time to look over it again.
The ceremony started and the hall quietened down. Principal Stoney started her opening speech, basking in the spotlight when the hall door bursts open and interrupts. In the doorway stands Anderson. His hair is disheveled and the clothes are torn, probably from the nightly activities with the skateboard he held in his hand. The boy scanned the hall, eyes falling on the empty seats with the name Miller and then Y/N herself. He gives her a small wave and pushes past the Figure Eights families to the seats.
Principal Stoney just restarts, a slight bewildered look on her face.
When it was time for her speech, Y/N didn’t even feel real, like she floated to the stage and was possessed. Her speech went well from what she could gather, Mr Morgan gave her a thumbs up and Anderson hollered, much to the dismay of the families around him. But he was even worse when she received her diploma.
As families spilled onto the field for fancy food and photo opportunities, Y/N wrangled Anderson to the side before he could raid the food stalls.
“Anderson, what the fuck? First you didn't come home last night and then crash my graduation?”
“Hey, I’m sorry about last night, me and the boys got carried away skating and I crashed on Oscar’s couch. I’m sorry, I should’ve called. And as for now, you think I’m going to let my smart-ass VALEDICTORIAN sister graduate without anyone being here to holler? You’re dead wrong.”
The sentiment fills Y/N’s heart with joy and tears threaten to spill. Anderson’s never been good with feelings, it was nice to know that he did care.
“Mum and dad can go fuck themselves, if they don’t see how great you are then they’re blind.”
“Thanks, bug. It means a lot. Now don’t eat too much, people are probably already annoyed that you’re here.”
Anderson shrugs, he couldn’t care less what they thought, he was here to eat and show off his sister.
“Congratulations Y/N!”
The voice of Y/N’s boss, Ward Cameron, was easily identifiable. Y/N puts on her confident face and turns to see the whole Cameron brigade, minus Wheezie.
“Thank you, Mr Cameron.”
“You know, I just don’t know how you get it done, working for us and dealing with your siblings…” Rose says, the last part fading out as she watches Anderson walk back to his sister with his arms piled high with fancy horderves.
“It’s tough, yeah, but what wouldn’t you do for your family?”
“Of course, of course, sorry for any implications, where is the old man, I know Julie is off on business, but Kevin has to be proud, I didn’t see him in the hall?” Ward’s voice feigned sincerity, but the Miller siblings saw right through it. Before Anderson could respond, Y/N replied.
“Dad is also doing business on the mainland, at the last minute. He’s devastated, really,” it's not convincing, even to her. Y/N can tell she hasn’t convinced the Camerons either. Sarah gives her a sad look, Rose attempts to mirror her step-daughter but fails, Ward looks slightly smug, like he’s trying to hide it but Rafe doesn’t even try to hide it like his dad, a massive smirk on his face.
“What are your plans for the summer Miller?” Y/N is surprised when it’s Rafe who asks the question.
“Well, I’ll be working for your dad, if he’ll have me, I still have my volleyball coaching in the tourist season and there’s never a dull moment with these around,” Y/N puts her arm around Anderson.
Looking for a quick exit, she looks at her watch.
“Oh, if we go now, you can still catch your last two periods. Kids, am I right?” She gestures at Rose and Ward, “we’ll be off now, I’ll see you next week?”
The Camerons nod as Y/N pulls Anderson away and towards the car park. But before they can fully escape, they’re stopped by Mr Morgan.
“You think you can leave without a photo and a proper goodbye, I didn’t think you were that kind of girl, Miller.”
“Of course not, Mr Morgan, here,” she hands Anderson her phone, “take a picture please.”
Anderson does so, taking about 50 at once.
“Okay, okay, let's get one of you two, you can’t not have a proper graduation picture, especially not when you’re valedictorian.”
Mr Morgan takes the phone and smiles at the siblings. When the impromptu photoshoot ends, Y/N is glad, despite it pushing back her escape.
“Y/N, on a serious note, you are always welcome in my classroom, you’ve been a pleasure, and don’t tell anyone, but you were my favourite. And you, I hope you’ll be just as good next year sir,” he says turning to Anderson, “although considering you’re here and not in class doesn’t bode well.”
“Thank you, sir, really. But you are completely right, and that’s why we’re bouncing now, so he can get two at least two periods.”
Mr Morgan smiles at the two when they start to run to the car. He’s always felt sad for the eldest Miller, and her parents absence did not go unnoticed.
------------------------------------------------
“I’ll see you later, I know you guys will probably crash a kegger, but at least come home before you go?”
“Yeah, yeah, okay, who knows maybe I’ll see you there?”
Anderson laughs and gets out of the car, he knows his sister won’t especially when Peach will be home. Y/N watches him go into the building and stays a couple minutes to make sure he doesn’t sneak back out when he thinks she’s gone.
But Y/N barely gets time to breathe, as she’s down to the elementary school to pick up Peach. The girl in all pink is waiting with a gaggle of friends and shrieks when she sees the blue car.
“Y/N! Y/N! I got the “most improved” in drama!”
Y/N opens the door and picks up Peach, spinning her round and congratulating her.
“Well done, bubs. This calls for a celebration, it’s the first day of summer and the boys won’t be out for another couple of hours - what do you want to do?”
Peach doesn’t even need a second to think.
“Lemonade stand!”
Huh? Y/N was prepared for an answer closer to maybe a princess party or surfing lessons, but a lemonade stand?
“Are you sure?”
“You said we could do whatever I want!”
“Okay, okay, let’s go then we’ve got a lot to do.”
Satisfied with getting her way, Peach got in the car and demanded that the next stop was the craft store.
-------------------------------
The next 90 minutes were gruelling. Peach spared no expense, Y/N was lucky that she still had the credit card Julie gave her. But she knew it would all be worth it. And it was.
Peach chose a spot right in the middle of the beach and the stall was already making a profit. Y/N knew kooks just couldn’t resist the temptation to look good and what was better than giving a generous tip to a child’s lemonade stand?
But with a successful kook-trap came the kook assholes. Namely Rafe, Topper and Kelce.
“Three lemonades please. Apricot, right?” Rafe said with a smirk.
“You know it’s Peach asshole.”
“That’s a bad word, Y/N,” Peach mumbled, clearly upset about being called apricot of all things.
“Yeah that’s a bad word, Miller, you should listen to Apricot a little more.”
“Maybe, you should listen to your college professors, oh wait, you dropped out, my bad, must be a bit of an open wound judging by the look on your face. I bet daddy wasn’t impressed.”
“Excuse me, you bitch, how dare you talk to me like that.”
“Run along, lap dog, we don’t need your money.”
Rafe goes to say something but Topper and Kelce hold him back.
“Bro, don’t get it shit with your pops over a fucking lemonade,” Topper warned.
With a final “fuck off”, Rafe Cameron stalked away to his car, his gang of cowards following, but not without Topper placing a crisp $20 bill in the tip jar. Peach mumbled and thank you and Y/N just nodded to Topper, too tired to say anything more.
And if her afternoon couldn’t get any worse, the prickly blonde from this morning strolled over to the stand.
“I’ll have four lemonades please.”
Peach gasped and accepted his money right away, getting to work on the drinks.
“I’ve seen many a kook-trap in my time, Miller, but not many operated by Kooks themselves. Impressive ingenuity.”
“Thanks - JJ, was it? Peach here won “most improved” in her drama class and this is what she wanted to do in celebration”
“Cute, Miller, didn’t take you as a softy earlier.”
Peach announces that she’s finished with the pogue’s drinks, he puts another $5 in the tip jar and grabs the drinks.
“Miller, there’s a kegger at the boneyard tonight, wanna come? I’m sure at least one of your brothers will crash.”
“Sorry JJ, someone’s gotta look after the little one, maybe another time, if you can stand being around a kook for that long.”
“I think I can make an exception, especially if they look like you Miller,” he winks, “boneyard tonight, if you change your mind.”
Y/N blushed, but she knew she couldn’t, she couldn’t leave a nine year old at home, even if Kevin was there, there was no guarantee that Peach would be fed and given adequate attention.
“He’s pretty, you should go.”
“Peach, honey, you know I can’t, I can’t leave you at home.”
“But I could go to Jenny’s, she’s having a sleepover tonight, I forgot to ask earlier, I got too excited about the lemonade stand.”
“Okay, you can go to Jenny’s, but promise not too much candy?”
“Only if you promise to go with him tonight.”
Peach was proving to be just as mischievous as her brothers.
“Okay fine.”
“Go tell him then.”
“Huh?”
“I won’t believe you unless you go tell him now that you'll be there!”
Y/N groans, but gets up to follow the blonde. As she nears, she shouts,
“Hey JJ! I’ll be there tonight, at the boneyard, I’ll be there.”
“Didn’t take too long for you to change your mind then, am I just that irresistible?”
“No? What? Of course not! It’s just Peach - she’s a master manipulator, and she’s only nine!”
“Sure, Miller, if that’s what you want me to believe, I’ll see you later, sweetheart.”
Y/N turned, she should cringe, but she finds herself blushing as she walks back to Peach.
“Don’t say anything, missy, you’ve done enough, let’s pack up and get you ready for Jenny’s. You young ones are such troublemakers, damn.”
A/N: I am not American, so I hope that the graduation stuff makes sense, from someone who has no real clue what happens there lol

Y/D/N - Your daughter’s name
"Do you have everything?” You ask Rafe, again, making him sigh.
“Yes, for the millionth time. Yes” He chuckles, “Breathe, baby. Jesus.”
You’ve been stressing for the past week. It’s been 2 years since you’ve last been in a Cameron’s event as important as the Midsummers and all you can feel is the pressure and stress running in your veins.
Not only will you re-seeing all your high school ‘friends’, but also Rafe’s side of the family. And no, you’re not talking about Sarah and Wheezie. You’re talking about Ward and Rose, who haven’t seen their granddaughter since the week she was born.
It was Rafe’s decision to make them not as inclusive as your side of the family, and you didn’t judge him for it. It was his choice to make.
But still, the idea of seeing them again after so long is stressful enough to make you seem paranoid with every small thing.
You reopen your small purse to check if you have everything that you need for the night and you sigh as you see, literally, everything.
“We need to go now.” Rafe says from beside you.
“Okay, let’s go.”
As you walk down the front yard of your parents’ house, you grab your car keys as Rafe calls out for Y/D/N, who is still inside the house.
The small girl walks out of the living room once hearing her dad’s voice and once her big eyes land on him, she extends her arms his way, grabby hands into the air.
Rafe walks towards her and picks her up, adjusting her dress slightly since she has been sitting on the ground this whole time, and looks up to check on you.
You had already walked out of the house and to the car, which didn’t surprise him. So Rafe walks with Y/D/N on his hip and closes the front door after him. H
e puts his baby girl down on her seat in the back and you pass him the keys before taking your seat on the passenger side, letting he go around to sit and start the car.
(...)
"Oh my god! I’ve missed you so much!” Sarah screams in the lobby of the building, catching everyone’s attention, as she runs towards you.
She wraps her arms around you as soon as she’s close enough and starts swaying you from side to side in her tight hold.
Rafe walks in the building, Y/D/N on his hip, letting her rest her head on his shoulder as he fluffs out her dress and walks over to you.
“Oh, she’s here too” Sarah gasps when pulling away from you, eyes wide when staring at your daughter in Rafe’s arms. “Oh, well hello you cute little bug” she says with her baby voice.
Rafe laughs down at his sister, finding her baby voice ridiculous, and you look around a little, noticing how many people are as late as you.
Thank god you’re not the last ones to get here.
“Can I hold her?” Sarah asks her brother.
Rafe doesn’t answer, he just leans a bit down and passes the small girl to her aunt. Y/D/N looks at her dad, confused look as she’s passed to Sarah.
“Where’s dad?” He asks Sarah.
Sarah walks over to you and Rafe follows her, resting his hand on your lower back once he stands right beside you.
“He’s...” She starts, looking around in the main room, “Probably...” She walks a bit to get a better view, and then turns to the two of you, “Outside”
You smile a bit at her words and you all start walking out of the lobby to try and find the man that organized this whole night. You walk beside Rafe, trying to swallow your nerves away, while looking around.
Rafe laughs a bit next to you and you look up at him to find him staring at Y/D/N. You follow his gaze and your eyes lay a wide eyed toddler staring intensely at her aunt, almost as if in shock.
You chuckle and that seems to catch the attention of the small girl, who looks at the two of you. Your and Rafe’s smile influence her into smiling as well and even to let a little giggle.
“Dad!” Sarah says excitingly as you three walk out to the porch, “Look who’s here”
Ward Cameron, himself, stands not too far from you, talking to maybe some business partners or just some acquaintances from the island’s Figure Eight. He looks over his shoulder to find his daughter holding a baby.
“Look Y/D/N, it’s grandpa.” Sarah says excitingly while making the girl jump on her hip, making it seem like she is actually excited to see him.
And that’s when Ward understood who the girl is, his granddaughter.
He looks up to find both you and Rafe standing behind Sarah and a smile is plastered on his face. Some might say it’s rather fake, but who are you to comment on that?
The men that were standing beside him drift their eyes to look at you all and they can’t help but feel shocked when they see the oldest son of Ward in front of them.
It’s been years since he had last been to events like these.
“My son, it’s great to see you again.” Ward says, after giving the small girl a smile.
The Cameron men give each other a quite awkward hug and Ward turns to you.
“It’s great to see you too, Y/N. You haven’t changed at all since I last saw you.”
Oh, yes. The day after his granddaughter was born. The last time you all were together in one room.
The last time he had tried to have an argument with Rafe and Rafe had finally enough of him.
Something that it’s surely still too fresh on Rafe’s mind still. As well as Ward’s.
Ward turns to Sarah once more and extends his hands as a way to motion wanting to hold the baby.
Sarah passes him Y/D/N, who doesn’t look all that pleased with all the unknown people holding and staring at her.
“Aren’t you adorable?” Rose asks from behind you.
You turn to stare at her and she’s glancing adoringly at your daughter.
The older couple give all their attention to the small ‘chubby-cheeked’ girl and you walk over to Rafe, leaning your side against his, making him wrap his arm over your shoulders.
As he plants a kiss over your hair, you turn to Sarah and start a conversation.
While you talk your worries away with Sarah, now feeling more relaxed, Rafe can’t take his eyes off his dad, who seems, to him, to be moving further and further way with his baby.
In reality, he knows that Ward is not that far, but he sure is far enough to make anxiety bubble up in Rafe’s chest.
Y/D/N looks away from Ward and looks over at her dad, her usual pout after much forced socialization forming on her lips.
She extends her small arms to her dad and Rose looks over at Rafe.
“Looks like she wants to go back to dad.” She says with a sweet smile, not something anyone is used to seeing.
Ward passes the child over to Rafe’s arms and he’s quick to hold her close to him.
The baby snuggles into his neck and coos a little as she does it, melting into her dad’s warmth and familiar hold.
The people around them steal some glances and awe at the sight of the small baby clinging to the scowling Rafe Cameron that everyone seems to recognize.
You laugh beside him at Sarah’s words and Rose and Ward are quick to join the conversation. Rose’s smile very prominent on her face, making you ease up next to her. While, Ward, on the other, stole glares at his son, same exact scowl on his face.
You hold Rafe’s vacant hand, giving it a small squeeze, and he looks down at you, coming back to reality.
“You okay?” You ask him in a whisper and he just nods.
The small girl on his chest moves a bit and peeks with her big eyes, over her dad’s shoulder, at the people behind the porch.
Some of them dancing and some just talking with a drink on their hand.
“Top” She gasps and Rafe looks down at her.
The small girl slaps his chest lightly to try and grab her dad’s attention and he looks over his shoulder to see Topper with a drink on his hand and a kid resting over his hip.
Rafe brings his fingers over to his lips, letting go of your hand, and whistles at his best friend, grabbing his attention and some other people’s in front and beside him as well.
The girl giggles at her dad and brings her small hands to her mouth, trying to imitate her dad, gaining a smile from you and a laugh from Sarah.
Topper smiles up at Rafe and starts making his way towards the porch. And as he stands beside Rafe, he changes Y/D/N to his other arm, all to greet his best friend with the right hand.
Rafe’s scowl lifts off his features as Topper starts making conversation and Ward looks away from the two young fathers, listening to what his daughter and wife are talking about.
As Topper looks over at you and starts a small conversation just to greet you, Y/D/N lays her small palm on Rafe’s cheek, getting his attention again. She smiles widely and acts all shy as his eyes land on her.
“Why are you all shy, now?” He asks the small girl playfully, “Uh?”
He pokes her side to make her erupt into her usual fit of giggles, trying to stop his hand with hers.
Rose and Ward look up at the sound of the adorable giggles and they eye Rafe Cameron smile sweetly at the small girl, threatening to start tickling her again.
The small girl shakes her head again violently at her dad’s other question and leans in, planting a small faint kiss over his cheek. He gasps dramatically and does the same to her cheek, making the girl start laughing again.
You look up at them and smile at how adorable they are.
Rafe peppers his daughter’s face with kisses and she laughs loudly, grabbing her dad’s face with her small hands to make him stop.
“Lowe you” She says as he leans his head away and he smiles at her, gaining a awe from all the women in front of him.
“I love you too” He answers, making the baby satisfied with his words and lean in close to his chest once more.
Ward stares at his son in slight shock, he did not expect Rafe to ever be as loving as this.
He expected him to be like... him. His dad.
And he’s more than wrong.
God, I missed writing for Dad!Rafe. We don’t deserve him, too cute for our own good.
*HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY*

It's you, babe
And I'm a sucker for the way that you move, babe
And I could try to run, but it would be useless
You're to blame
Just one hit of you, I knew I'll never be the same
Ward is having his annual dinner party and every kook in outer banks is invited. Even though I was grounded, my mother asked me to come.
Kie isn’t speaking to me so I decided to wander off and look for Rafe. I got up the table and went to the restroom where I heard a familiar voice, it sounded like Rafe. I new exactly what he was doing inside and it crushed me. I wanted the ground to cut open in half and swallow me whole. I was waiting for a perfect time to catch them so I entered one cubicle carefully listening to him and a girl whimpering. Every breathless moan is like a stab to my chest. Even though what we have is just a casual hook-up but it felt like it was more than that.
After a few minutes you heard the bathroom stall opened so you decided to come out to see Rafe and a brunette chick who looks like a student in your school. Rafe’s eyes widened,
“y/n you’re here!” Rafe said.
“I double checked the door before coming in, this is a women’s restroom and last time I checked there’s a different room for men” I said as I wash my hands in the sink.
“I mean you’re here at the party, didn’t expect you to be here.” he said and slowly walked towards my back kissing my neck whispering “I missed you.”
His kiss sent shivers down my spine, I wanted to kiss him but I won’t. I have to be strong. This has to stop. I don’t like the version of myself when I’m with Rafe. He’s like a drug and I’m addicted. I just can’t control myself around him and even after having him, I still want more.
I turned around and started leaning in as our lips were about to kiss, pulled away and walked out of the bathroom leaving him hungry for me.
I told myself I wouldn’t do it tonight. I still have 2 hours left to talk and find someone to ease my mind off of Rafe before my mom asks us to go home. I can’t keep running in to him or i’ll loose my shit and start fucking him.
I saw some of my classmates from school and I decided to go near them. I talked with Joe from Biology class. I haven’t really had a chance to pay attention him cause I was too busy reading or studying. He seems nice and he’s kinda cute too. He asked if we could go to the bar to drink, I said yes.
When we headed to the bar we started talking about high school, our classmates, the kooks vs the pouges but I got distracted when I saw Rafe with the brunette girl and his hand is on his waist. I got jealous so when I saw him looked at me I laughed and held Joe’s arms and then we drank shots. I can feel Rafe’s eyes even though he’s a couple of feet away from us.
We’ve been having fun together and getting very flirty with each other that I forgot about Rafe. I was too tipsy to drink another round so I told Joe that I’ll go back to my table, he escorted me, and I sat down and talked with my dad for a bit before I excused myself that i’ll to go to the restroom before heading home.
When in reality I was gonna smoke some weed. This has been a weekly occurrence and I’m starting to get used to it already. I was looking out the lake in a tiny gazebo smoking all my problems away when I heard footsteps come inside. It was Rafe, his hands are on my waist as he whispered “Who the fuck told you that you can go whoring around especially when I’m around?” Hearing his low raspy voice gave me goosebumps. His grip on my waist started to get tight and I said “You don’t own me, I can do the fuck I want.” he’s now growling in my neck and I can feel myself getting wet with his actions.
“Isn’t it unfair that you get to fuck whoever and whenever you want but I don’t huh Rafe Cameron? You don’t fucking own me so I get to do what the hell I want you understand?” you say to him with your lips inches away from his lips, and you walked away.
I went back to the table and I sat next to Kiara who’s been sulking all night cause we both know she didn’t want to be there. I looked at her and when I was about to say something she spoke up.
“You know that you’re my best friend right? even though you’re my sister, but how could you do that? you know I hate Rafe, why him?” she asked.
I honestly don’t know what to tell her. I haven’t even met Rafe before and I just know she hated him. But there’s something in that bonfire that made me think that Rafe’s not awful as Kie makes him. I mean yes he’s and addict and an alcoholic, but deep down I just know there’s something different.
Kie has been my person ever since I went to highschool. She’s been my protector and my human diary. I tell her about everything that’s been going on in my life even though my life is pretty boring compared to hers. She’s always ready to listen to drama and I know that she always got my back. But this is different, this is not just about John B, it is the injustices that’s been happening in obx because the kooks can do anything they want because of money.
I know that I hurt her and is it really worth burning the bridges my sister and I have established for years to Rafe Cameron?

Will upload the Last Part tomorrow. I know this is shitty but I’m kinda getting lost but I hope you guys like it :)

Midsummer: JJ Maybank
JJ x Reader
word count: around 6k
MASTERLIST
a/n: took a long time writing this and I've never done anything like this (where its y/n) so any feedback would be greatly appreciated <3
~
You had never technically been to the Midsummer festival. Of course, since you were a Kook, your parents were invited and tried to make you go but every year came a new excuse. First, you had the "stomach flu." Then, there was that time you said you had "strep throat." Another time, you had a "fever." You had so many excuses for not going to Midsummer every year, you had become a pro at lying.
Only this time, you had an actual reason not to go and, out of all the times, your parents didn't believe you.
You had told them the truth. You and Rafe had just gotten into a huge argument and had technically broken up. It wasn't official or anything but you both knew it was the end. You wanted to stay home and binge watch 'New Girl' from the beginning and maybe order some food. You just wanted to indulge yourself for a moment. You had lost 170 pounds (aka Rafe) and you kinda wanted to celebrate.
Rafe loved keeping up appearances and you were just another way to do that. You were the "perfect" girl next door. You surfed, played soccer during the school year, and it helped that your parents were loaded. You and Rafe looked like a great couple on the outside, but the reality was you were both broken in one way or another. You were struggling with your mundane life, finding every day one endless loop. You were desperate to break free but didn't know how. Rafe was struggling with addiction and wouldn't admit to you that he had a problem.
Finally, you were at your breaking point. This morning, while you still had the courage, you started to talk to Rafe about getting help. You had kept this secret for him for too long and keeping it any longer wouldn't help anyone. Rafe, as you expected, flew off the handle and said the most horrible stuff. He called you a bitch, a slut, and basically every thing that could hurt a person. And you took it because that's what you always did. Then he said something that you couldn't forgive.
You're gonna die alone.
All of those words before never hurt as much as this one. You think it hurts the most because there's a possibility that it's true. You have never had an honest conversation with anyone in your life, including Rafe. You let people in, but not all the way. You were scared to get hurt, but even more scared to die alone. Rafe knew that.
So, you told him you're done and then left. No, you're here, talking to your parents and telling them you couldn't go because you had broken up with Rafe.
"I just don't understand what happened. Rafe is such a nice young man." Your mother said, going through her jewelry box to find the right earrings to match the dress that was laying across her bed.
The Midsummer party was not to start until the sun set in about three hours but your mom loved getting ready early and this party was no exception.
"I just don't want to go. Rafe is escorting me and I don't wanna put on a smile and pretend like everything's okay when it's not."
You didn't understand your mother sometimes. She was fine with letting you stay home from the party for years now as long as there was a physical reason like a cold. Now that you're telling her it's a mental reason, she could care less. You watched her by the frame of her bedroom door. She continued to look in her jewelry box and not for one second check on you.
"It's just for tonight sweetie." She smiled, but not at you.
At first you thought it was directed at you even though she wasn't looking at you. Then you realized she had found the matching earrings and that's why she was smiling. She held them up to her ears and looked in the mirror for a second.
You wondered if she remembered she had a daughter. It felt like she didn't remember sometimes.
You couldn't change her mind. You knew this now. She was picking out her jewelry and accessories now and the room for anything other than the talk of jewelry and makeup was not interesting to her. You decided to cave, not wanting to plead your case again.
So, you returned to your room and called the only person that ever listened to you. Your best friend, Sarah Cameron. She had recently met a Pogue named John B. and also didn't want to go to the Midsummer party where Topper, her soon-to-be ex boyfriend, was escorting her. She had planned to break up with Topper to be with John B. but hadn't gotten the chance yet. Although she wanted to end things with Topper, she didn't want to cause any drama and breaking up with him at the Midsummer party was definitely not a good way to avoid drama.
Sarah understood. She always did.
"Hey girlie." Sarah chimed as she answered the phone.
You instantly smiled, sitting down on your bed. "Hey."
You could basically hear the frown in Sarah's voice as she spoke. "What's wrong? Did Rafe text you?"
You hummed a no. Just hearing Sarah's voice made you feel better. "I tried to tell my mom I don't feel like going but she refuses to listen."
Sarah sighed. "I'm sorry Y/N. I'll look after you tonight. Make sure Rafe doesn't talk to you. He'll escort you to the party and then that's all you'll see from him. I promise."
You chuckled. "And who is gonna make sure Topper stays away from you as you go meet up with your new boyfriend?"
"Ah, my friend," Sarah chides. "That's where you come in. We'll help each other out tonight."
You laugh, the plan sounding ridiculous but it made enough sense to actually work. "Okay, I'll see you then."
"See you there sister." sang Sarah, hanging up the phone soon after.
After you put your phone down to charge, you decided to take a shower and start getting ready for the Midsummer party. You showered quickly, scrubbing your hair so that it wouldn't smell, as your mother says, "like the sea."
After you got out, you washed you face with a cleanser and towel dried your hair. You then brushed your teeth for the second time today and popped in a mint. You put your hair up in a bun while it was still wet so it could dry on it's own. That's when you picked out your dress. Your mom had bought it for you a week ago and it had been collecting dust in your closet ever since. You laid it out on your bed and finally got a proper look at it.
It was a yellow, spaghetti strap dress that fell to your ankles. It was made out of silk and shined even with your bedroom light. When you had tried it on, your remembered how tight it was on the bodice and how it dainty it looked on you. You did like it and it made you feel like a princess, you just wished you didn't have to wear it for the Midsummer party.
You started your makeup first. You applied a tinted moisturizer to give yourself a natural glow and then applied some concealer to lighten your under eyes. Once ever was evenly applied, you filled in your brows and brushed them back and applied some mascara. You added blush and some highlighter to give you a brighter glow. You finally finished off the look with a nude lip.
You let your hair down and it was stil damp. In an attempt to get your hair to dry faster, you got a blow dryer and dried the rest of your hair. Once it was all dry, you brushed it through once and let it stay down. It had turned out nice, the natural curls in your hair giving you the volume you needed. Why change something that already looked so good.
With your makeup and hair done, you finally got changed into your dress. Once it was own, you gave yourself a proper look in the mirror.
You did look beautiful. You had to admit, when you put effort in, you cleaned up well. Although you liked how you turned out, your heart still hurt. Not because of Rafe, but because you can't imagine doing this every year for the rest of your life. Your parents were always okay with doing the same things everyday. You weren't. You wanted to go out on adventures and experience all life had to offer. You wanted to travel by yourself. You wanted to have something different to do everyday. This mundane life you saw your parents do was not for you but you were scared if you lived any more days like this, it was going to be your future. That's what scared you the most. Not being able to get out of the bubble your parents and your life as a Kook put you in. It's one of the reasons you envied the Pogues. Sure they might not have as much money but they had adventures and didn't lead a mundane life. Everyday was different. You sometimes wished you were a Pogue.
You slipped on your heels and looked into the mirror one last time. You looked good but still couldn't smile fully. You didn't hate how you looked, you hated the person looking back.
You didn't know if that ever would change.
~
Sarah always looked beautiful and you hated it. Even on days when she woke up, hung over with bed head, she just had to smile and she'd look beautiful.
When you entered Sarah's house, she was waiting for you in her bedroom. Her dad, Ward, told you where she was and you basically rushed upstairs. You hadn't seen her in two days since before she went on an adventure with John B. and you needed to know all the juicy details.
Now, as you looked at her in that perfect white dress, you didn't feel self conscious, but you certainly felt like you had to change.
"Holy hell." Sarah said as she stood up from her bed. "You look so sexy."
You rushed to her and hugged her for a moment before saying anything. "I look sexy? Look at you. You look like an angel."
Sarah laughed, grabbing your hand and squeezing it. "How are you doing?"
You shrugged. There wasn't much to say. You weren't really torn up over the situation. "I'm fine. We both knew it was coming."
Sarah laughed. "You should've seen my brother. He was totally freaking out when he called Topper."
You frowned. "Sorry. I know he's your brother."
Sarah waved her hands in the hair. "Are you kidding me? Someone needed to knock Rafe down a few pegs. I'm glad you guys are done. He doesn't deserve you."
You hugged Sarah again. She really was the most important person in your life right now. You didn't know how you got so lucky.
"Speaking of which, are Topper and Rafe here?"
Sarah sighed and nodded. "Waiting for us downstairs to escort us to the Midsummer party."
You rolled my eyes, grabbing onto Sarah's hand again. "Ugh. We can't just keep them waiting."
Sarah smirked, playing along with your sarcasm. "God forbid."
As you guys made your way downstairs, you talked. You knew you couldn't ask her all the details right now but you made sure to let her know that once you were alone, you'd pressure her to tell you all the information. You had seen John B. and his friends around OBX but had rarely talked. The only time you ever encountered each other was when you and Sarah slept on the boat overnight and John B. had come in the early morning to drop off the scuba gear. They seemed to not get along at all so you still wonder what changed.
"Just one question?" You pleaded as you and Sarah made your way to the sliding glass doors, leading you to the backyard where the party was taking place. The sun was setting now and the party would be starting any minute.
"Fine, shoot." Sarah nodded, whispering to you now since Topper and Rafe could see you and Sarah now.
"Is he a good kisser or not?" You leaned over to whisper in her ear.
"What are you beautiful ladies whispering about?" Topper asks as he approaches you and Sarah. You instantly pull away, acting very suspicious.
"How to please a woman. Not that you would know." You smirk at Topper, being very mean. For good reason though. He had made Sarah feel very bad about not sleeping with him and you were glad she had moved on. Now, hopefully Topper would too.
Topper rolled his eyes. "Hello Y/N. How are you?" You know he's only being so nice to try and impress Sarah and show her he's changed. Of course Sarah doesn't buy it.
"I'm spectacular." You gave Topper a wide smile. Maybe if you stared at him long enough, his head would explode.
"Good." Topper grumbled, looking at Sarah. "You look amazing."
Sarah frowned. "Yeah, thanks." She seemed so unenthusiastic it was almost funny.
Topper extended out his hand, ready for Sarah to take it. Sarah looked at you and tried to smile but you could see her discontent. Sarah unwilllingly reached for it and smiled again at Topper.
Here's the thing; if you have to smile so much at everyone all the time, you're probably not happy.
Just as Sarah and Topper move away, Sarah stops, tells Topper to wait one moment and turns around to you. She smiles, for real this time, and says, "To answer your question; yeah, really well."
You giggle, trying to make sure Topper does not ask too many questions. That smile that you had, though, is now replaced with a frown.
You can see him lurking near the door, finding the courage to come up to me.
God, I wished he would just leave me alone, you thought.
You decide against confronting him and instead walk to Sarah's kitchen to grab some water. The doors to Sarah's backyard can be seen if you stood in Sarah's kitchen so you can see Sarah walk out with Topper, smiling and waving. People who don't know Sarah well won't know the difference but you do. Her shoulders are slightly droopy and her smile is not as wide as it usually is.
You watch her quickly depart from Topper soon after he's escorted her around and you can see Topper stay behind, a little shocked she's gone. You don't know why he is, but that's the thing with guys like him. They never think they're the problem.
Speaking of problems, Rafe has followed you into the kitchen and is just standing there. You pretend not to see him. Maybe if you ignore him, you thought, he'll take the hint and walk away.
Of course, he doesn't and as you try to walk past him, he stops you from leaving the kitchen. He's standing in front of you. So, you move to the right and he follows, blocking you again.
"Can we talk?" He asks, reaching out for your hand.
You move my hand out of the way. "Don't touch me."
"Y/N..." He's looking at you with those puppy dog eyes and granted it would've worked at one point but not anymore.
"No." You say sternly. "This is what's gonna hapen: you're gonna escort me out and after that we'll never talk again."
Rafe frowns even harder. "I don't want that. I said things I shouldn't have but -"
"No." You cut him off. "There's no more excuses. We're done."
Rafe's brows crease together. You can tell he's pissed now. "No. You're not giving up on us."
You scoffed, his confidence misplaced. "Trust me, you gave up a long time ago." You then grab onto his elbow, surprising him a little. You could tell he was confused and so you rolled your eyes and then spoke again, "you're escorting me."
Rafe's eyes widened and quickly nodded, guiding you to the glass doors. As you walked, you felt a weight lifted. It had been a long time for you to admit this but you wer glad you guys were over. Your relationship was not aware near perfect and very toxic. The weight lifting, you realized, was definitely Rafe's link to your life.
As the doors opened, you put on a smile and stared waving. You looked around and smiled at your family and friends but you were looking for Sarah. You saw your mother, who was clapping and had a proud smile on her lips. She gave you a thumbs up but you looked away. Could she seriously be any more annoying?
Finally, you spotted Sarah near table. She was looking at you and clapping. You could tell from her facial features that she was being sarcastic. You stuck your tongue out quickly as you walked and waved and she quickly flipped you off.
Once you were done, Rafe let go of you. You turned to him and gave him a half smile.
He did not smile back. "I'm sorry."
Your smile dropped. "Are you?"
And with that, you walked away. Once you got to Sarah's table, she was already standing you give you a hug. You hugged her tightly, sighing as you did. It was finally over. You never had to speak to him again.
"How are you feeling?" Sarah asks, the boh of you sitting down at the table beside each other.
You shrugged. "Surprisingly, I'm good."
Sarah smiled. "It's cause you know it's for the best."
You nodded. You hoped so. "You want a drink?"
Sarah nodded. "Thanks so much."
You got up and went to find a waiter. There were so many around you but each one was speaking to someone and you didn't want to bother them. It took a little of a walk but you finally saw a blond boy in a waiter's suit, standing there. He seemed to be doing nothing so you approached him.
"Excuse me." You said politely, causing the blond boy to turn around. You knew who it was.
JJ Maybank. A Pogue. Specifically, one of John B.'s friends. More specifically, the guy who pulled a gun out on Topper. You were there and saw it all. He had never liked him. Although you hated Topper as much as the next sane person, he didn't deserve that.
JJ looked at you, up and down. He then smirked and crossed his arms over his shoulders. "Yes princess?"
You scoffed. "Not happening. I need a ginger ale and Sprite."
JJ scoffed back, imitating you. "A 'please sir' would help. Or do you Kooks not know how to say please?"
You glared at him. "I know how to say please to people who deserve it."
"And I don't?" JJ asked, bemused.
"No." You said coldly.
"You don't even know me."
"I know the type." You retorted.
JJ grabbed ahold of his chest, faking being wounded. "Wow, that stings Y/N."
You rolled your eyes, ignoring the fact he knew your name. "You don't need me to explain it to you?"
JJ nodded, a smirk adorning his lips. "I really do, miss."
So you did. "I've heard stories about you JJ. You pulled a gun out on Topper, use girls left and right, and get into trouble with the law for fun. Trust me, I don't wanna get to know you."
JJ frowned, maybe for real this time. "Ever heard of don't judge a book by the Kook's stories?"
You tried to suppress a laugh. "Just get me those drinks."
JJ nodded at you and then you turned away and made your way back to Sarah. To be honest, he wasn't anything like Rafe had said. Yes, you had been there the night he pulled the gun but he was completely different now. He had a personality. He was more than a meathead Pogue like Rafe had said. Maybe you should stop listening to what Rafe and try to decide for yourself who JJ was.
When you returned to you table beside Sarah, the drinks where already there. You were confused. How did he get there before you?
"Took you long enough." Sarah joked as she sipped on her drink.
"Sorry." You sat down, confused. You looked at your drink, then at Sarah. "Who brought them here?"
She shrugged. "Some girl. She said that you had told her to hurry up. What did you say?"
You looked around for JJ. Finally, when your eyes found him, he was already looking at you. He smiled and gave you a small wave before walking away.
You smiled. You wanted to tell Sarah what happened and why JJ had made such an impression on you but you didn't get a chance.
Suddenly music came from the dance floor that had been decorated for this party. You looked to the dance floor were people had stared dancing and then you looked back to Sarah.
"Can for a dance?" You extended you hand out to her.
Sarah smirked. "Of course."
And so, as the sky turned to dark, you two danced.
~
You had been consecutively dancing for about an hour and your feet ached. You were wearing heels and although you were skilled in the art of wearing heels, you were completely overwhelmed by the aching. You had to stop.
You looked to Sarah, who was holding onto both of your hands as she swayed to the music. You smirked at her. She was a terrible dancer but her confidence made her seem like the best dancer ever.
Once you stopped moving in the middle of the song, Sarah noticed almost instantly and stopped along with you. She looked at you face and instantly knew.
She frowned. "Just until the end of this song."
You sighed, easily swayed when the music was so good. You nodded, swaying to the music again. Sarah picked up where she left off and you both smiled again. The song seemed to be in the middle so you only had to wait a few minutes. You trudged along, the soles of your feet aching so badly you chewed on the inside of your cheek to distract yourself.
"Hey, if you need to stop me can -" Sarah was about to stop but she was cut off by a tap on her shoulder.
A blond boy you now knew as JJ, danced beside Sarah. "Val?"
You frowned. Maybe he thought she was someone else and you thought that was true when you saw Sarah's face, who was confused for a moment.
"JJ?" She questioned and your eyes widened.
"What do you want?" You ask defensively. You wanted to keep up the impression you were still cautious around him.
JJ looks to you and perks up a little. You do the opposite. The other side of his face is badly bruised. You hadn't seen it before because of the darkness before, but now it was all you could see. It looks like he got punched over and over again. You suspected he probably got into another stupid fight. You almost felt sorry for him. The only way to boost his ego was for him to punch someone.
"Well, hello m'lady." He said, bowing.
You took a step back, bemused. As he bowed, he extended his hand for you to take. To indulge him, you grabbed it and he then stood up straight and pulled you close. One had rested, surprisingly, respectfully on your back and the other intertwined with your hand. You looked to Sarah, who was laughing. Your hand rested on his shoulder as you tried to contain your laughter.
"Madam, who you be so kind to get a note for Sarah out of my pocket for me?" JJ asked, swaying with you to the music.
You pulled away only enough to look at him the eyes. "Can't you do that yourself?"
He smirked. "Yes but I'd have to take my hand off your back and I don't wanna do that."
You rolled your eyes, swaying with him. Although he was a tad annoying, it was a comforting type of annoying. Your past presumptions of him yelled to you in your head about the gun and the fights but you quieted them. For this moment, he was being nice and you would look the other way. Maybe you had been wrong.
You nodded to him and reached to the back pocket on his pants and pulled out a note, handing it to Sarah.
Your hand soon returned to his shoulder as he smiled. "Thanks."
"Were you flexing your ass?" You laughed, shaking your head. You were embarrassed. Never had you done that but you couldn't help but laugh. JJ was one weird guy.
"Trying to impress you." He smirked, making you laugh. He then looked to Sarah and nodded at her. She was blushing so hard, and you were about to ask her what happened but she was already running off.
You looked to JJ. "What's going on?"
JJ leaned towards your ear as you swayed. You felt his lips touch your ear and you shivered. "She's meeting JB."
You smiled at JJ as he looked back at you. "I see. Star crossed lovers."
JJ shrugged his shoulders. "Didn't see the appeal of macking with a Kook but now," JJ says, looking you up and down. "I see the appeal."
You gasped and laughed, embarrassed again. "I'll slap you, I swear."
JJ smirked. "Please do."
You rolled you eyes. The next song had already started but you continued to dance. Your feet hurt no longer. "And why shouldn't I just smack you right now?"
JJ smirked. "Because I'm about to dip you and if you slapped me, I would drop you."
You shrugged. "Good enough."
And with that, he dipped you. You leaned your head back as he did and you felt the pressure of his hands on your back. You felt so secure. You knew he'd never drop you.
Once you came back up and looked at him again, you spoke. "I'm sorry for earlier."
JJ smiled. "Are you kidding? Probably the sexiest thing that's ever happened to me."
You rolled your eyes. "Really?"
JJ shrugged, continuing to sway. You had never felt like this. It felt as if you and JJ were the only two people on his dance floor. Not even with Rafe. This feeling was new and you didn't think you'd feel it with JJ. Someone who, before today, you never would've wanted to spend time with.
"So," he started as you continued to dance. "Have I impressed you?"
Before you could answer, you were pulled apart by two hands you recognized immediately. It was Rafe. Topper was right behind him, ready to fight. But this fight wasn't fair. It was two against one. How would JJ ever stand a chance?
"Rafe -" You started but Rafe silenced you by speaking over you to JJ.
"What're you doing dancing with my girlfriend?"
"Actually ex girlfriend." You corrected, standing between Rafe and JJ. "You have no right -"
"No right?" Rafe scoffed, his glance shifting to me now. "Until three hours ago I was your boyfriend and now you're grinding against this Pogue?"
You glare at Rafe. "Get away from me."
"Oh, I will." Rafe gritted through his teeth. As he spoke, his arm went around you and he tried to grab onto JJ's collar. JJ was quicker though and dodged his grasp.
"Run!" You yelled, turning around and pushing JJ our of the way.
JJ was fast. You were in heels so you weren't exactly the fastest person at this party but even as you ran, JJ was miles ahead of you. He looked back for a second, to see where you were and stopped to wait. You were surprised.
"C'mon." He said, grabbing onto your hand as you both ran into a closet and hid.
You heard Rafe and his goons tun down the same hallway you had just run down and they missed you completely. They were such idiots that they didn't even check the closet.
As you both caught your breath in the closet, you couldn't help but smile like an idiot. You had never felt so alive and you still couldn't believe you felt like this with JJ. He was the last person you ever thought could make you feel like this.
Soon, your dumb smile made JJ smile like an idiot and soon you both were smiling at each other. No longer did you guys have to catch your breath but you both still were breathing heavily. You were chest to chest and you were sure JJ could feel your heartbeat pick up.
He looked to your lips. "Why're you smiling?"
You shrugged. "Never done this."
JJ raised his brows. "What? You never ran from your ex with a boy you just met and ended up in a closet?"
You covered your mouth as you laughed. "You have?"
JJ shrugged, obviously joking. "Yeah, like five times."
You nodded, suppressing your smile. You were afraid if you smiled too much, your happiness would be taken away too quickly. You didn't want this to end. "With your rap sheet, I believe you."
JJ gasped, grabbing his chest again and falling an injury. "Another shot. I'm starting to think you're jealous."
You scoffed. "Jealous? No."
JJ raised his brows. "No?" His hand reached up from his sides and came to the hair in front of your face. He brushed it to the side and tucked it behind your ear. "Never thought about kissing me?"
Your smile was gone and replaced with butterflies. "Nope."
"I'm hurt." JJ confessed, fake frowning.
You smirked. "Why?"
"Because," JJ whispered, leaning forward. "I've thought about kissing you ever since you spoke to me for the first time."
Your breath hitched in your throat. His face was so close, his lips even closer. All you would have to do was lean forward and your lips would definitely meet. So, with a deep breath, you leaned forward to meet JJ's lips.
The second you kissed, you felt heat move through your entire body. JJ's hands came up to cup your face as your hands rested on his chest.
Your lips were on fire. For about the millionth time since you met him, he had proved you wrong. You were so glad he did. This kiss was like your favourite song. It was a beautiful sunset on a summer night. It was everything. You never kissed anyone like this. Whether it was adrenaline or the fact that he was someone you barely knew, this kiss was passionate. Your heart felt like his hands were around it. You didn't know how to act when this kiss would come to an end.
You angled you head so that your kiss would deepen. He tasted like mints and liquor and it tasted divine. You seriously couldn't get enough.
But sadly, you had to part. You needed to take a deep breath and you couldn't when his lips were on yours. You were the first to pull away and take a breath.
Once you did, JJ was the first to speak. "Um, wow."
You nodded, wiping your mouth. Your lipstick was definitely smudged. JJ saw your struggle and moved your hand to help. Except he didn't. Once he touched your lips again, your stomach dropped and you leaned to kiss him again. He instantly closed the space and kissed you again.
God, he was addictive. You definitely got it now. Sarah was right. The way Pogue boys kissed was so different from any Kook boy. Kook boys were careful and soft but JJ was the exact opposite. He was passionate but slow and everytime your tongues touched, you felt your stomach flip.
Finally, you both pulled away again. This time he actually helped you rub away your lipstick without kissing you.
"Wow." You said this time.
JJ nodded, catching his breath. He held onto his chest dramatically once more, making you giggle. "Who the fuck are you Y/N?"
You shrugged. Then, you remembered something. "You wanted to kiss me even when I was ripping your head off?"
JJ chuckled, shaking his head. "The first time I met you was when you smiled at me at the station."
You tried to remember that. Finally, you did. You were interviewing Sheriff Peterkin for the school newspaper and that's when JJ walked into her office. He plopped himself down as you said your goodbyes to Peterkin and you hadn't spoken to him at all. He had sarcastically waved goodbye to you and you genuinely smiled. You remember feel bad for him. You barely remembered his name but you saw him around school, always pissing someone off. You wondered why he wanted to kiss you then.
So, you asked. "Why'd you want to kiss me then?"
JJ rubbed his good eye and smiled at you. There was no arrogance under this smile, it was just pure happiness. "You smiled at me like I wasn't a delinquent like everyone else. You just saw me, a regular person."
You were so surprised. You hadn't thought anything of it and never thought of that day again. Until right now. How could JJ remember that?
"I'm surprised you remembered that." You confessed, grabbing ahold of JJ's hand.
JJ smirked. "If you ever tell anyone that, I'll embarrass you."
You giggled. "How?"
"I'll tell everyone you kissed me." JJ joked, squeezing my hand.
"That's not embarrassing." You gave JJ a fake frown, suppressing a smile. "Tell them I once peed my pants in ninth grade."
JJ cackled as you said this. Scared we'd be found, you covered his mouth. "Don't."
It was too late. Someone had heard you and JJ.
Only seconds later, someone opened the closet door. You squeezed JJ's hand to brace yourselves for Rafe but instead it was another waiter. He looked disappointed but not surprised.
"You gotta get out of there." He deadpanned, making way for you to leave.
JJ exited first, you following him shortly after. After you exited, he let go of your hand and looked to you. You were standing in a hallway now and you were too busy looking out to see if Rafe and his goons were around, you didn't realize he was trying to get your attention.
"Y/N." He said, finally getting your attention. Once you looked to him, he spoke. "You wanna pretend like this never happened?"
Your heart sank. Maybe you were wrong in giving him the benefit of the doubt. You sure decided to be honest. You never wanted to go back to never knowing JJ Maybank.
You shook your head. "Do you?"
JJ smiled. "No."
You both just stood there and smiled at each other for a moment. You were just content in being together. You wondered that maybe this is how relationships were supposed to be; easy. It seemed so easy with JJ.
After a long period of silence, JJ leaned forward and kissed you once more. As you pulled away, he spoke."I should go. Don't wanna get my ass handed to me by those goons."
You laughed, shaking your head at him. "I'll see you around then?"
JJ shrugged. "Let's just say, I forgot my keys in Sarah's closet and I'll come by tomorrow at three to get them. If you're there, then I'll see you then."
You shook your head, smiling so wide. "I'll see if I can make it."
JJ nodded and then let you go, making his way farther and farther away from you. At first, you watched you as he walked but when he got to the door, leading him in the opposite direction of the party, he turned around and opened the front door of Sarah's home. Then, JJ was gone. He was gone before you could even say goodbye.
But you knew its wasn't goodbye. This was just the beginning.

DOWN FOR YOU | RAFE CAMERON
Masterlist on pinned!
A.N: If you feel like this is familiar maybe you read it on my wattpad account or on here before i deactivated! English is not my first language so please be kind.
WORDS COUNT: 1,1K
WARNINGS: Maybe some swearing i seriously do not remember.
BASED ON DOWN FOR YOU BY RUEL
You said we'd just drop by
But I wasn't invited
You'd already decided
That I was coming too
"i promise you we will eat with and go away" Rafe said while you both entered the big house.
It was a warm sunday night and your boyfriend had asked you to go with him to a big family reunion that the Cameron's would pull off every summer, where everyone in the family tree was invited. It was not your place at all, even though you had been dating for a few weeks now, you still a pogue and were not prepared for this at all, to be honest it felt a little rushed and early to meet everyone in Rafe's family but you went anyways just to please the boy.
"Rafe! and... Y/N!" Rose said when she saw you two "hello honey, i didn't know you were coming today!" she looked at Rafe with a confused frown in her face, not because she didn't like you, in fact she loved that Rafe had finally found someone as sweet as you are, the woman was just confused at the situation.
"Hi Rose" you said while smiling at her a little bit.
"Please feel free to call me if you need anything, welcome" she said before taking a big sip of her red wine glass and walking away.
"Rafe i am not even invited, what's going on?" you asked to the boy as you turned to look at him.
"I decided that you were coming, what's wrong with that?" he stared at you, having to back down his head a little bit due to the height difference.
"Rose was not aware that i was coming that's what it's wrong!"
"Y/N, like i said before, i promise you we will eat and after that we can do whatever you want to do, ok?" he placed both his hands on your cheeks to after grab your hand and take you more inside of the house.
I can't stand all these people
All trying to please you
They don't even see you
The way I do
You hated this. The only person you really know besides Rafe in the 'party' was Sarah, and she wasn't anywhere to be found, "she probably didn't even came and is out there somewhere with John b" you thought to yourself.
It was almost half past twelve and you still there, sitting at a little table with Wheezie, who was also not very excited about the whole thing. Watching Rafe being so different around everyone, he pretended to be someone you knew he was not in reality.
The whole environment was completely fake and whoever who looked closely could notice it. People rolling their eyes at each other when they were not looking, Ward ranting about how Rafe was going to start college again the next year when it was totally false, old mans indirectly competing to see who was the richest. It made you feel glad of not growing up surrounded by these human beings.
Two AM, haven't left
No one cares, just me, I guess
But I can't leave you
Two a.m in the clock, your boyfriend didn't kept his promise and you still in the hell that was the family reunion.
You were having a non-alcoholic cocktail while listening to Rafe talk to someone you had no idea who was as he had his big hand wrapped around your waist. Multiple times you contemplated just going home but ending up washing the thought of it of your mind.
I wasn't gonna say nothing
But I'm about to break something
How you gonna take all of my time
Half past two, still between Rafe's hold when the people he was talking to decided to go talk to someone else. You were trying hard to not start an argument about how he dragged you here knowing you hate this stuff and how he lied to you.
"you having a good time?" he asked you, and that was it, that was your breaking point.
"you're seriously asking me that?" he nodded, a little bit confused by the angry tone of your voice, "well, let's see, first of all YOU KNEW i do not like things like this at all, but i accepted to come just for you, then you promised me we would eat and go, IT'S HALF PAST TWO IN THE MORNING"
"I KNOW OK, I'M SORRY FOR WANTING YOU TO MEET MY FAMILY" he slightly yelled making some of the guests look at you both. He took your hand and walked to one of the house hallways where no one was around.
"Rafe this is not your family and you know it, i could barely recognize who you were while talking to them" he stared at your eyes for a few seconds, without saying a word and then walked away into the party.
You know that I hate this place
But if you wanna stay, I do too
We'll let the night turn to day
Yeah, I'm down either way
'Cause I'm so down for you
Rafe didn't expect all of that to happen, he just wanted his family, especially his father to notice he could have good stuff on his life, that he was not a lost case, not anymore because he had found you. You had changed him for better and everyone could tell that. He wanted to have fun with you, at least until the reunion ended so he could take you to his bedroom's balcony to watch the sunrise together as you did a few days ago at the beach. Rafe was aware of how deeply he was falling, everyday he fell a little bit more, and he loved the idea of being so down for you.
And I can't find the patience
For all the conversations
And all of these blank faces
I should leave, I haven't yet
But when you smile, I just forget
But I can stay a while, I guess
A very drunk woman was talking with you about taxes, you barely said a word due to your lack of information about the topic. A few moments later you were surrounded by females on their forty's asking you about your boyfriend and it was starting to make you anxious.
Lucky you, the young man interrupted the interrogation and took you away from them.
"come with me" he said and you obeyed following him outside the house.
Both of you were sitting in a little outdoors type of couch, watching Rose forcing Ward to dance with her. Your head was placed on his chest and you lifted up a little bit to see him smile at the scene, he realized of your stare and looked down at you and his smile went bigger.
"what?" you asked him and he just giggled "why you looking at me like that pretty boy?" you insisted while laughing at his cute face.
"cause i'm so down for you woman" you smiled at his response and sat straight to kiss him.
