How do CoQ10 Supplements Help Improve Heart Health?
A healthy heart is a primary requirement for healthy living, and your diet has a crucial role in doing so. A nutritious diet containing a balance of vitamins, proteins, and carbohydrates is all you need to take regularly. A balanced diet is not enough as you also need to perform exercise in your daily routine. For some people, following a balanced diet with regular exercising is not possible due to their health condition or any other reason.
What those people can do is look for alternative ways. And, when we talk about alternative ways, taking natural supplements to lower cholesterol is one of the best ways to keep your heart healthy. Supplements such as Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) have proven beneficial, especially among people with cardiovascular disease (CVD). Thus, the risk of experiencing repeat heart attacks will be minimal, and its use will also lower blood pressure. Before going any further, let’s know about CoQ10.
Tumblr media
What is Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10)?
CoQ10 is a natural substance present in every cell of the human body. Its role is to convert food into energy, and it does so by making the antioxidant adenosine triphosphate (ATP), which is primarily responsible for the transfer of energy and also protects cells from oxidative stress. Even CoQ10 is in the body itself; however, there are foods that speed up its production, and those foods include vegetables, such as cauliflower, broccoli, and asparagus, and organ meats, such as liver or kidneys, and fish, such as mackerel and sardines.
Role of CoQ10 in Heart Health
It has been proven in many researches that CoQ10 is beneficial for many health conditions, especially heart conditions. Let’s shed light on the heart conditions this supplement is helpful for.
Cardiovascular Disease (CVD):
CoQ10 supplements will raise High-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol or HDL-C and Apolipoprotein ApoA1 levels and keep cardiovascular disease at bay. CoQ10 supplements also lower inflammatory biomarkers, such as high-sensitivity C-reactive protein, a risk factor for CVD. For your information, a lower CoQ10 level may cause greater tissue damage to the heart, especially during a heart attack and brain stroke.
Heart Failure:
A heart failure is another heart condition that CoQ10 is quite effective, and its continued use improves mortality rate. A research study by a multi-center on 420 patients found that deaths have reduced to almost half. The study has been carried over a period of two years, which is enough time to get to this conclusion.
Statin-Related Muscle Symptoms
Statin therapy is quite effective in minimizing heart attacks and strokes; however, about 25 percent of people quit this treatment within six months because of new health problems, such as body aches and weakness. When those people with statin-related muscle symptoms started taking CoQ10 supplements twice a day, they reported reduced pain.
After Heart Attacks
Patients who started taking CoQ10 supplements found a reduction in subsequent cardiac events in the future. It is like a blessing in disguise for those people. A CoQ10 supplement is the best natural supplement for cholesterol.
High Blood Pressure
CoQ10 is quite effective in lowering systolic blood pressure. When we talk about the exact number, the systolic pressure reading lowers up to 17mm Hg, and the diastolic pressure reading up to 10mm Hg. All this happens without any significant side effects.
In conclusion, CoQ10 supplements are effective in several health conditions, particularly cardiovascular conditions. Whether it is about reducing the risk of heart attacks, improving survival rates in heart failure patients, alleviating statin-related muscle symptoms, or lowering blood pressure, CoQ10 offers a natural and effective solution. Incorporating CoQ10 supplements into your routine, alongside a balanced diet and regular exercise, you can support your heart and overall well-being.

One thing I'm learning about is trusting the process. Sometimes I have a plan and I know I'm adhering to it well enough, yet progress doesn't happen.
That's not the time to change the plan. That's the time to trust the process. Keep doing the thing. It'll work out eventually.
It's as comforting as it is infuriating.

Very good news -- I tried on a pair of pants that were previously too tight and they now fit! 😀 I wore them out and everything and didn't have any mobility issues or the back pain that typically accompanies too-tight clothing. This means I've lost a good amount of the visceral fat causing issues hopefully. 🙂
At this point I really shouldn't lose any more weight tho. I'm on the lower end of recommended BMI for my height and am small-framed to begin with, so if I want to continue to work on my physique I'll need to (ugh) switch over to strength training and focus on building muscle. I am thinking of buying a few sessions with a personal trainer at the Y if it's reasonably priced, simply bc I've been out of shape for a while & some guidance on proper form, number of reps, etc. would be useful getting started again.

Let's Begin
First day of October, first day of starting this blog. Possibly daily updates as I throw my voice out to the void to push myself/hold myself somewhat accountable to what I need to do.
I'm a 38 year old enby with a bad heart and horrible cholesterol. Already on one medication, but I really want to buckle down to see if I can get off if it or at least avoid having to take others. I'm not a fan of the side effects. Especially the constant cough, delightful in these pandemic times.
Back in August, my cholesterol total was 248. It was a slight improvement from January at 260.
Should be on a loso diet, I'm not the greatest at doing so. That and sticking to exercise are my goals for now. So cooking more and getting more active. Right before the stress of holidays. 😂
Here's hoping I can end 2022 on a better note!

I officially got diagnosed with high blood pressure!! I also got blood work done which shows I have high cholesterol (bad cholesterol being about 3x what it should be) and my doctor also suspects fatty liver. I was given until August to make improvements (diet and exercise). Then I will get another blood panel to see if my cholesterol is still high. My doctor didn’t sound very optimistic that I would get it under control and even told me that she will make sure the pharmacist has some meds in stock come August.
Now that's exactly how every death piggy should treat their bodies, stuffing yourself with the greasiest and most fattening food you can find while admiring all the damages you're doing to your growing body and having no self control whatsoever
I'm glad you treat your health issues as milestones at this point, especially with the impressive effect you've done to your obese body, just waiting to add more health issues to your list
And congratulations on all your achievements, I'm sure it wasn't easy to get there and I know all the death piggies will use your experience as a goal they can work towards, especially if they want to grow immobile, hooked up on oxygen while they stuff themselves silly until their lard ridden heart can't take it anymore 🐷☠️🩷

The drug finasteride, already used to treat hair loss and enlarged prostates, could also help to cut the risk of heart disease. In an analysis of data from both male humans and mice, the drug was shown to improve health and reduce levels of cholesterol. Too much cholesterol in the body is well known to increase heart disease risk, as it encourages atherosclerosis: fatty deposits in blood vessels, blocking the flow of blood through the arteries. Eventually, that can lead to strokes or heart attacks.

"I didn't give out any medical advice" lmao you were heavily implying that person's doctor was wrong and that they shouldn't listen to their doctor's advice. that's irresponsible. you're going to get somebody killed with this bs
If their doctor's advice is to lose weight through dieting, it is wrong and I can say that in full confidence because it. (x) doesn't. (x) work. (x) Here! (x) Take (x) these! I am (x) chucking (x) peer reviewed sources (x) at you. (x)
Anti-fat bias is at work here. And so is a weight-loss market worth $90 BILLION as of 2024.
In 2013, UCLA researchers Traci Mann, Janet Tomiyama, and Britt Ahlstrom conducted the most comprehensive and rigorous analysis of diet studies, analyzing 31 long-term studies.
“What happens to people on diets in the long run?” Mann asked. “Would they have been better off to not go on a diet at all? We decided to dig up and analyze every study that followed people on diets for two to five years. We concluded most of them would have been better off not going on the diet at all. Their weight would be pretty much the same, and their bodies would not suffer the wear and tear from losing weight and gaining it all back.” (x)
Certain factors biased the diet studies to make them appear more effective than they really were. For one, many participants self-reported their weight by phone or mail rather than having their weight measured on a scale by an impartial source. Also, the studies have very low follow-up rates — eight of the studies had follow-up rates lower than 50 percent, and those who responded may not have been representative of the entire group, since people who gain back large amounts of weight are generally unlikely to show up for follow-up tests, Mann said.
Evidence suggests that repeatedly losing and gaining weight is linked to cardiovascular disease, stroke, diabetes and altered immune function. Mann and Tomiyama recommend that more research be conducted on the health effects of losing and gaining weight, noting that scientists do not fully understand how such weight cycling leads to adverse health effects.
“We asked what evidence is there that dieting works in the long term, and found that the evidence shows the opposite” Tomiyama said.
Here are some quotes I pulled directly from the study.
It is implicit in this definition that losing weight will lead to improved health, and yet, health outcomes are not routinely included in studies of diets.
Overall, there were only slight improvements in most health outcomes studied. Changes in diastolic and systolic blood pressure, fasting blood glucose, cholesterol, and triglyceride levels were small, and none of these correlated with weight change. There were also very small effects of these diets on lipid-lowering medication use and coronary morbidity and mortality. There were a few larger positive effects for hypertension and diabetes medication use, as well as diabetes and stroke incidence. In correlational analyses, however, we uncovered no clear relationship between weight loss and health outcomes related to hypertension, diabetes, or cholesterol, calling into question whether weight change per se had any causal role in the few effects of the diets. Increased exercise, healthier eating, engagement with the health care system, and social support may have played a role instead. Our findings are in line with a recent meta-analysis (Flegal, Kit, Orpana, & Graubard, 2013) that found that overweight and class I obesity were not associated with higher all-cause mortality. Moreover, Ortega and colleagues (2013) have documented metabolically healthy but obese individuals, and an emerging literature on the “obesity paradox”, whereby obesity appears to confer health benefits in certain diseases (Amundson, Djurkovic, & Matwiyoff, 2010), suggests that a disconnect between weight loss and health outcomes should not be surprising.
We believe the ultimate goal of diets is to improve people’s long-term health, rather than to reduce their weight. Our review of randomized controlled trials of the effects of dieting on health finds very little evidence of success in achieving this goal. If diets do not lead to longterm weight loss or long-term health benefits, it is difficult to justify encouraging individuals to endure them.
See for yourself.

forgiveness to others.
forgive people guys. accept apologies and forgive. even if they haven't said sorry even if they really should have, don't hold a grudge. not just for the sake of moving on and being happy but also literally for your actual health and wellness!
recently studies have shown that not forgiving someone can hinder and negatively impact your health and increase risks of diseases
website "Whether it’s a simple spat with your spouse or long-held resentment toward a family member or friend, unresolved conflict can go deeper than you may realize—it may be affecting your physical health. The good news: Studies have found that the act of forgiveness can reap huge rewards for your health, lowering the risk of heart attack; improving cholesterol levels and sleep; and reducing pain, blood pressure, and levels of anxiety, depression and stress. And research points to an increase in the forgiveness-health connection as you age. “There is an enormous physical burden to being hurt and disappointed,” says Karen Swartz, M.D., director of the Mood Disorders Adult Consultation Clinic at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Chronic anger puts you into a fight-or-flight mode, which results in numerous changes in heart rate, blood pressure and immune response. Those changes, then, increase the risk of depression, heart disease and diabetes, among other conditions. Forgiveness, however, calms stress levels, leading to improved health."
of course, do not tolerate the same behaviour again but don't hold a grudge or resentment against them either! like what good is that gonna do you? get past things so you can glow up and be genuinely happy so that if you do come across them again, it doesn't trigger you, doesn't make you feel happy or sad. it doesn't really make you feel anything.
That’s why, forgive. Not for them, for you.
