So apparently being unable to stop myself from making infection AUs is a more common occurrence than I expected. However, like always, I am leaning away from the classic infection AU staples and more towards…. (checks notes.) The psychology of it all. Also its source material.

Ergo: Capochin Zero AU, in which the namesake of said AU becomes patient zero to a sickness so new it has no name in a slightly altered take on the game of Great God Grove, and then is forced into ascension bc his god refuses to live without him. Anarchy ensues.

I could rant like. A lot about the HPD & BPD coding here, the very obvious codependency (especially on Capochin's end for that one) but I'll leave that for another time / see if anyone would be interested in that ... I do think they'd qualify as pretty decent rep for untreated / undiagnosed for that

I have a hyperfixation on trauma & mental health too, and will likely dive into that with them at some point. Analysis and stuff. I mean I kinda already did in DMs to someone but shhhhhhhhh, I'd need a proper script to make a post about it.

I would also would have doodled Patty bc I love them a ton, but I'm NOT confident enough yet in the way I draw these lil guys. Patty will get a proper artwork when I figure out how to translate the Bizzyboys into my style in a way that I like. I swear.

I’ve chosen to record these logs as Inspekta for my Capochin Zero AU, sorta to practice my ability to write scripts, follow said script/voice act, and sound design!

Additionally, this is one way to tell the story of Sickness of the Grove. Here’s the first Inspekta Log to get started.

Personal thoughts. I think Hector pushed out the possibility that Capochin might be in love with him a long while ago 'cuz of that extreme imposter syndrome, so like, as he got worse he became more and more numb to the feelings of others as his isolation and anxiety got to him more and more. 😮‍💨 But the worst part is, HE, HIMSELF is running from his own feelings. Sweet on him...but afraid to be vulnerable...

Fearing attachment, because of Capochin's mortality. Fearing attachment, due to his mindset, how lonely his world has been before he met Capochin all that time ago. Afraid of mattering that much to someone. He's so emotional that it comes off the wrong way. To people he really likes!

Experiencing short term memory loss, as years pass like MONTHS to Inspekta...

So fickle. But already so attached...

AUGH.

I....AM NOT NORMAL ABOUT THEM......i never will be....their relationship comforts me in a way not many would understand....

Some fun facts:

The idea to make Inspekta Logs came from me recording an impromptu version of one in a car as a basis for where they'd go if I made them. I will likely be including that one as a later Inspekta Log, though will be rerecording that one due to the background sound.

Though I only recorded my voice, I absolutely did some method acting as Inspekta as I voiced him. I leaned closer and further away from the mic depending on lines, and certain sound effects were all me in the moment. Other sounds were added whilst editing the audio.

Speaking of certain sound effects being all me, that was me typing on my actual keyboard. However, that was actually me attempting to sign in and somehow fucking up my own password at one point. It got the job done, at least.

I gave myself some freedom not to follow the script verbatim. There aren't too many differences from what I landed up saying compared to what's in the original script, though three parts were absolutely intended to be improvised (such as the beginning, Inspekta mumbling about what to say, and the ending).

"My little sugar pie" is meant to parallel a specific line from Capochin. You know the one. ('Twas also not improv. It's genuinely in the script, and it still haunts me despite the fact I wrote and voiced it. MY LITTLE SUGAR PIE,,,, OGH I AM SO NORMAL)

The echo I put on Inspekta's voice is less of a "god voice effect," and more to show just how empty the God Complex really is. Likely, when any other characters join Inspekta in the Inspekta Logs (as I'm definitely planning on), they'll have the same filter put on their voice.
