This is ‘Costal Daydream’, and it sold, many thanks to a collector browsing my Etsy shop. 🥰 It’s depicts the mood I’m in every time I arrive on the Mendocino Coast and see the emerald Pacific framed by the summer sweet peas. It’s a sleepy piece of California coastline north of San Francisco, just far enough to deter day trippers, but close enough for those who love the longer drive through wine country and redwoods before arriving at the foggy coast. Bliss! This piece is 12x16” in oil with tons of texture in the wildflowers. If you swipe you can see the shadows, dips and valleys created with the palette knife. "Valentine's Day" A sickening red rose pain fest - A blur of all the love and affection I have never known. Triggering content below: ✂️ 🌹 🩸 I was going to harm myself beyond repair. So I forced myself to paint. This painting is how I feel about being a florist on valentine's day. All of my former bosses were abusive, especially during the holidays. I would work for 16 hours straight with no breaks. Standing on a pile of stems and petals, my legs seared with pain as I worked myself to death for pennies. It takes me approximately 7 minutes to make a dozen red rose arrangement. I've made so many of them that the monotonous ubiquity of them makes me sick.
