“i just put lily down for a nap incase you wanted to take one yourself. i can make some food in the meantime,” rafe suggested with a gentle kiss to your forehead as he walked passed.
it had been a long couple of months. since getting kicked out, ward and rose had helped you both to buy a house of your own, you’d had your daughter which you and rafe decided to name lily, and you’d began dating officially.
“thank you, baby,” you replied before walking over to the couch and flopping down onto it. you grabbed the remote and began flipping through netflix for some movies to watch. “hey, you know my mom called me the other day?”
he stopped his shuffling through the pantry and poked his head out to look at you. “what’d she want?”
“she asked a ton of questions about the baby since obviously she didn’t come to any of the parties beforehand. and all of a sudden she cares to be in her life,” you said sourly. “i didn’t tell her anything.”
he rolled his eyes and continued looking for something to cook. “good. they’re assholes. lily doesn’t need ‘em in her life.”
you smiled to yourself and clicked on a movie, tucking yourself under a blanket and getting comfortable. you heard the stove turn on and settle on a setting before something was being poured into what she assumed was a pot of water.
pasta.
rafe knew it was your favorite. you began to smile even harder, barely even focusing on the movie now.
you felt his weight by your feet just before he was grabbing your legs and tossing them over his lap so you weren’t cuddled up in a ball.
interrupting your quiet time, a loud knock sounded through the house. rafe immediately prepared to stand, to which you urged him back down. “i got it, babe. rest for a little. you’ve been running around all day.” you pressed a gentle kiss to his lips before rushing to the front door and opening it.
you began wishing you never had when you caught sight of your parents standing on your doorstep with a woven basket full of stuff inside in your mothers hands. “hi, honey,” she greeted cheerfully. “we were wondering if we could see the baby?”
you scoffed and laughed. “no?”
“what?” she asked in disbelief. “we—we drove all this way though just to see her.”
“i didn’t ask you to though,” you replied. “how’d you even find my address?”
your father rolled his eyes. “are you serious? we drove a long way here and brought a gift just for you to deny us our right to see our grandchild?”
“what right do you have?” you asked genuinely. “you kicked me to the curb and made it very clear you wanted nothing to do with me or my child over these last few months. and now what? you suddenly wanna involve yourselves in our lives?”
“we deserve to see her,” your mother argued.
you heard rafe get up and before you knew it, he was at your side, face to face with your parents. “you don’t deserve shit.”
your mother gasped while your father looked taken back. “excuse you? watch who you’re talking to, son.”
“you abandoned her and supported us in no way. you have zero rights or claims on our child,” he stated. “and not to mention, this is our home and our property, which you are trespassing on and possibly endangering our child. i could call the police right now and—“
“no!” your mother said quickly. “that won’t be necessary. we just want to meet our grandchild.”
rafe laughed and raised his eyebrows. “you never wanted anything to do with our family before, so you both can fuck off,” he replied with a sarcastic grin before slamming the door in their faces.
he turned to you and scanned over your features. “you okay, my love?”
you nodded and smiled at his protectiveness. “yeah.”
“you don’t need them,” he reassured. “you’re doing the right thing. and you’re doing an amazing job with lily.”
you loosely wrapped your arms around his neck and leaned into him slightly. “thank you. and you,” you paused and kissed his lips softly. “are doing the best that i could ever imagine.”
“fuck ‘em, right?” he smiled against your lips.
you nodded and chuckled. “fuck ‘em.”

Hellsite Nostalgia Tour 2023 Day 46
All Hell Breaks Loose Part 2/The Satan Pit
Can you imagine arbitrarily scheduling the gates of Hell to open in two of your shows in one night?
"All Hell Breaks Loose Part 2"
Would I Survive the First Five Minutes??: Not counting this one. No one died. Sam was already dead.
What if every time I hit a season finale (from season 3 on), the only song I could consciously play (while also forgoing my podcasts) was Carry On Wayward Son? Considering how little I've listened to music this year so far, I'm...thinking that might make it my TOP. SPOTIFY. SONG. OF. THE. YEAR. Should I do that? What if I made a poll? Should I make a poll? I'm gonna make a poll. (I have made a poll, and at time of posting 69% of voters want me to)
OMG OMG OMG. I'm just...Dean's literally lost his whole family at this point and the purpose in life John gave him (protect Sam). It's no wonder he's acting like this and lashing out and saying to Hell with the world.
I want to hug him so badly. FUCK. He thinks he's nothing but a failure. (Oh. oh no.)
Okay, but literally getting in your car when you're like this is probably the WORST thing you could have chosen to do...oh, good. Driving to where you know there's a crossroads demon to make a deal with. Excellent decision making skills there, buddy.
Oh, so this is why Dean has to die at the end of next season...coolcoolcoolcoolcoolcoolcool. Like, I remembered he did (it's how we get Cas), and I kind of guessed he made a deal for one year once I saw where he drove to.
*inhuman noises of angst* The lying and secret keeping...it's both so good and at the same time terrible. And Dean's look of shame when he brought Sam to Bobby's. Oof. Sayin' Sam got better like he'd only been turned into a newt or something
OOOOOOOOO Dean's about to catch and ABSOLUTE EARFUL.
Why do I latch on so tightly to characters who call themselves failures and who don't think their life has meant anything? Whose dads put that thought there? (Though, they take WILDLY different stances on their younger brothers.) On second thought, don't answer that.
THAT'S IT THOUGH, DEAN!!! THAT'S WHAT I WAS THINKING IMMEDIATELY!!! YOU TELL HIM, BOBBY!!! Like, yeah, you brought Sam back, but you're also gonna leave him all alone like you were. And then the way Dean reverts to being such a little kid "please don't tell him."
Poor Ellen...also, poor Ash. Like...we didn't get enough of him. (Ellen's at least still alive though)
I love the "figuring this shit out" portions, where the viewer, by design, realizes what's going on half a second before it gets said out loud. It's beautiful
Who...who does this yellow eyed demon actor remind me of? He's a little bit Jack Nicholson, but who else?
Oh Jakey boy. Wrong move. Shoulda shot him.
Uh oh. UH OH. "I cut clean through your spinal cord. You can't be alive."
I hate how these powers corrupt everyone who gets them (except Sam, apparently).
Ok. Now this is literally overkill, Sam. You didn't have to do THAT. The powers might not have corrupted you, but SOMETHING happened.
He seems like such an insurmountable obstacle...what with the Jedi powers and being just an all powerful demon in the first place...
Hey...coming back to some shit from earlier. They're self-destructive too. How wonderful of me to cling to them so hard.
Look. I still don't like John, but damn if I don't respect him showing up to save his boys.
Good on you, Sammy, digging deeper into what happened. UGH. Don't LIE to him. DON'T LIE TO HIM, DEAN.
Don't look at me, but I'm definitely not sobbing. Totally not crying like a baby.
"Been On My Mind...": haahahahahahahahhahahahahaahahhaahaha. No. Best I can offer you this time 'round is the kiss to seal the deal with the crossroads demon when Dean sold his soul.
"The Satan Pit"
Like...literally just all gates to Hell opening up tonight. (I guess this one started a couple nights ago, but nothing's proven coming out yet.)
OOOOOOOO science officer going rogue? Girlie. Just like Sam's mercy and kindness got him killed, this crew's curiosity is gonna get them killed.
It's so unlike him to say he's not gonna explore, he's not gonna go further. THIS. This does terrify him. I was right. Every little thing, starting with the text that even the TARDIS couldn't translate, has a Time Lord scared. All that AND Jackie Tyler's wrath? Would be enough for me, too.
Did...did we know this crew worked for Torchwood before now?? I feel like that's also an important tidbit that they held out on
Look. I don't like Toby either, but DAMN. At least most of your other drags seemed like something they DID or some TRUE failure. The worst you could dig up on Toby is that he's never had sex? Gtfo.
Amazing how everyone just lets Rose and the Doctor take over command of anything and everything. Sure they're right the vast majority of the time, or they eventually figure out how to get to the right answer, but Rose just really took over command of this station to get the Doctor and the science officer back. She's the one giving everyone, including the acting captain, orders.
Man, Doctor...maybe not the urge to fall...perhaps just the urge to saunter vaguely downward. That might be just a little safer
There's little sadder than listening to someone who knows they're about to die. Not pleading for their life, but asking for their death to be on their own terms, to not have the worst things they can imagine happen
Oh god. Toby's not free of it.
I hope they didn't KILL the Ood. Just incapacitated them. It's not THEIR fault.
Mmmmm, just asking questions, are we? This visual is terrifying. Just the Doctor against an absolute void.
Rose deciding to stay and the acting captain not allowing her. I get both sides, but fuck it hurts
MAYBE WE DON'T TOUCH THOSE VASES.
I love when the Doctor is the antithesis of a Bond villain. He'll spend several minutes monologuing his enemy's whole plan.
"If I believe in one thing, I believe in her" okay, yeah. that IS (slightly unconventionally) romantic.
It's so crazy that they kill the LITERAL devil in this episode.

It wasn’t easy for us, Xen.
-
Right after Valentino came, i rest on mom and dads bedroom. He was with the detectives. I couldn’t sleep, my mind was haunted with footage of your death. I indirectly witnessed my brother’s murder.
You were working a murder case meanwhile you were murdered.
I opened my eyes and looked at wall clock and it’s 6 pm.
“Hey, Xen’s body will be brought to the morgue. And we will stay at mine until mom, dad and Uriel arrived at the airport.” Valentino showed up at the door. I got up and walked outside the bedroom.
I saw a body bag of my brother taken out to the ambulance. That’s my brother. V hugged me from beside and i could hear his cry. We lost our family member.
Police line were everywhere at my house. Neighbors were stood before it and took pictures and videos.
From afar, i saw Cole family waved at us. We nodded and they were walked closer.
“I’m so sorry, Z, V.” James Cole said a condolence. “Where’s Bass and Tamara?”
“They went to New York for event but they were heading back.”
“Just tell us if you need anything. We will be here for you all.” And now Lily Cole the one who talked.
I just nodded and walked away. V drove us to his place while we wait mom, dad and Uriel came.
An hour later we arrived. I was sitting at the couch while he walked to the kitchen. “You want something, jet?”
I just shook my head. He later sat beside me while sipped his coffee.
“Tomorrow we supposed to have a dinner. It’d be incomplete since Xen is now gone.” Our family dinner was ruined by someone who took Xen’s life.
“Our movie night wouldn’t be the same since no one would recommended a good movie.” I said it while wiped out the tears. “He would never drove me again to work.”
“I will now. I will make my time to drive you every morning. Or Uriel will. I promise.” V was so sweet. Xen was the only one who drove me to work since Uriel and V wasn’t available.
“No more Counting Stars singing challenge anymore.”
“No more random coffee from Xen ever again.”
“No more X’s french toast.”
“No more ‘jet jet jet starrrrr’.” We said together and we laughed.
We said everything Xen’s doing in his life that we remembered. It was distracted us from sadness over hours.
But when V’s phone ringing and we realized it was 11.30, pm, my heart turned crushed, again.
“Hey, it’s in 1104 N Mission Rd, how’s mom and dad?” “Alright we’ll see you there.” He hung up the phone and got up. “Lets go, mom and dad were arrived at the airport and we’ll met them at the mourge.
We drove to the place where Xen’s body were placed.
An hour later we arrived. Mom, dad and Uriel were arrived first like 2 minutes. They were already inside the mourge with Det. Bosch and a doctor and we all saw Xen’s body.
“He was shot twice on his abdomen and his forehead. There was a sign of difficulty of breathing, and bruises on his abdomen.” Doctor was explained to all the people including me, and mom and dad were hugging each other.
Not long after, we all went outside and det. Bosch started to asked mom and dad questions. V was with them. And Uriel walked to me and hugged me.
“Hey, you okay?” Asked him. You only shooked your head and cried into his chest. “It’s okay jet, just let it out. I’m so sorry you had to through all of this.” He stroked my hair and i cried harder. “I love you, okay?”
I pulled out the hugged and he wiped my tears. “I manage to get you a keychain.” You took it and cried again. Uriel was really sweet and cared. He looked so tough but i know he was so hurt to lost a brother.
“King, now it’s your turn.” V called him and he went approaching det. Bosch.
I saw mom and dad walked towards me and i hugged them immediately.
“Baby, I’m so sorry, how you doing now honey?” Asked mom. I just shooked my head and let the tears feel down again.
“I’m glad you were okay, honey.” He kissed your hair.
“I’m so sorry for you too, mom, dad.”
Dad was nooded “Alright, lets wait them inside our car, shall we?”

Birthday Bullies-SBI AU Imagine
This is Brother!Technoblade, Brother!Wilbur, Brother!Tommyinnit, and Father!Philza x gn!reader in the SBI inc AU in which you are the youngest of the three. That being said, you and Tommy are in the same grade due to you skipping a grade because you’re so smart and that gets you into trouble because people don’t like people that are different ya know?
TW: Bullying, like physically, mentally, and emotionally. As well as cursing
Masterlist here
Y/N is being bullied at school. They’re able to keep the secret from her father and brothers for a while. But every cat gets out of the bag eventually.
Y/N’s POV
Being the youngest in your class is hard. It’s even harder when the age gap is bigger than the usual age gap. My father and my teacher’s realized that my “smarts” were way ahead of others in my grade and together we decided that I might be happier skipping two grades and going into high school at 13.
At first, I was ecstatic. I would get to take tougher classes but I would also get to be with my older brother Tommy as a freshman and our even older brothers who were seniors. But as time passed, more of the freshman class began to turn on me and began to hate me. Not only did I begin to feel excluded from my classmates, but my classmates began to pick on me.
It wasn’t too bad at first. Just whispers and snide comments to begin with. But some people got more bold and soon I could barely walk down the hallway without my shoulder being shoved and cruel words spat directly in my face. No matter how hard it got, I refused to tell my brothers. I didn’t want to be a bother to them. I was in high school now, I should be able to fight my own battles… Right? Besides, some of the kids had threatened to beat up Tommy if I even thought of telling my brother’s what was happening.
Luckily, I usually got home before everyone so I got to let out all of my feelings without having to worry about any of the boys seeing me break down. Techno has theater, Wilbur has music lessons, Tommy goes to Tubbo’s to hang out, and my father, Philza, works until 5. So I was home alone for 2 hours which gave me enough time to break down, cry it out, pull myself together, cover any bruises I may have gotten from the day, and pretend like nothing happened before anyone got home. It was a process I had down to a science. No one knew about my struggles, but that was all about to change.
It was my birthday. I woke up feeling pretty good. I could immediately smell the breakfast my father was making. I swung myself out of bed, grabbed the outfit I planned on wearing, and went to the bathroom. I quickly did what I needed to do in the bathroom before bouncing down the stairs.
As I suspected, my father was standing over the stove and all three of my brothers were sitting around the table chatting. At the sound of my footsteps, all heads snapped to me, grins placed on all their faces. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!” All four cheered in unison. A matching grin painted my lips, “thank you!” I beamed. Philza quickly turned off the stove and rushed over to me and scooped me up in a big hug. “I can’t believe my baby is officially a teenager!” Dadza cooed in my ear. I giggled and hugged him back, “If it helps I can’t believe it either.” Philza gave my back a quick pat before releasing me and going back to the stove.
I sat down in my seat at the table next to Tommy and gave all my brothers smiles. “Here you go sweetheart” Dadza announced, placing a plate filled with my favorite breakfast foods down in front of me. “Thanks Dad!” I cheered, before picking up my fork and digging in. The boys took this as their cue to get up and get their own plates.
Soon everyone was sitting around the table, eating and enjoying each other’s company. “Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get the day off and the boys still have their after school activities that they can’t get out of and so you’re still going to be home for two hours by yourself before we can all get home to celebrate” Dadza explained in an apologetic tone. Although I was a little disappointed, I understood. “That’s okay. Like you said, we can just celebrate when everyone gets home. No worries,” I told him with a smile. Dadza returned my smile, “Thanks for being so understanding kiddo.” “No problem dad!”
We finished breakfast and then it was time to head to school. Wilbur drove us in the car that Dad had gotten him when he got his license. Techno also had a car and a license, but he hates driving and so he forces Wilbur to drive everyday. Once we got to the school, the four of us said our goodbyes to each other before heading our separate ways. I stopped by my locker and put my books away before heading to my first period.
Surprisingly, the day passed very easily. Sure there were still a few shoves and words thrown my way, but nothing too major which I was really happy about. It seemed like the universe was giving me a break because it’s my birthday today! I should have known it was too good to be true.
The last bell rang releasing us from the hell that we call school. I quickly made my way to my locker, grabbed everything I needed before walking toward the exit. I had almost made it out of the building when I heard the cruel voice of Chad, one of my main bullies, call my name from behind me. I silently prayed that if I just ignored him he would get bored and move on… It did not work.
“Hey!” The same aggressive voice called, this time a forceful hand finding my wrist and forcing me to turn around. “I’m talking to you bitch. When I’m speaking I expect you to listen” His hand tightened around my wrist causing me to whimper. I knew that the skin was going to bruise and it was going to hurt a lot. The sound of me in pain caused the smirk on Chad’s face “Aw. Does a little pressure hurt the baby?” Chad mocked, tightening his hand even more causing even more shooting pain to send through my wrist. “Please let me go” I begged, trying to tug my wrist from his iron grip, I made no progress. “No. I don’t think I will. You need to learn your lesson and learn to listen to your superiors when they’re speaking to you,” Chad spit, glaring at me with so much hatred in his eyes. I let out another small whimper, but didn’t say anything else.
Chad smirked at my demeanour, “Good… Now I’m feeling particularly generous today, so I’m going to let you go. But remember this the next time I call you, you better respond immediately.” Chad let go of my wrist and I was about to respond, but I suddenly felt a force on my shoulders, shoving me to the ground. My hands shot out behind me and I felt the skin on the palms of my hands break as they met the ground. Chad’s obnoxious laughter rang out loudly as he walked away, leaving me on the ground.
I had to take a few moments to compose myself. I couldn’t cry here. I couldn’t risk another person walking by and seeing me lying here crying. I had to be strong until I got home. I carefully pushed myself up, hissing at the feeling of the pressure on my scraped palms. Once I was up, I carefully inspected my palms and wrist. Small rivers of blood flowed from the open wounds. I slowly clenched my fists closed, trying to keep the blood in. My eyes caught the wrist that Chad had gripped, it was extremely red and small bouts of purple were already appearing in the shape of fingerprints. I took a deep breath before walking out of the school and toward home.
It’s days like today that I’m very grateful that I’m home for a few hours by myself. I didn’t have to explain anything to anyone and I could be my happy self by the time everyone gets home. It was hard to keep the tears at bay on my way home, but I managed.
A sigh of relief left my lips as my house appeared in my vision. I practically ran to the front door, carefully grabbing my key and unlocking the door, careful to not get any blood on the door or my key. I rushed into the house and slammed the door behind me. Once I was sure the door latched, I allowed myself to break down. The tears that I had forced to remain in my eyes finally flowed freely down my cheeks as sobs escaped my lips. I threw off my bookbag and allowed myself to sink into the door and slide down to the ground as the sobs wracked my body.
I was so absorbed in myself that I didn’t hear someone calling my name. I couldn’t hear them ask what was wrong. I didn’t even know they were there until arms wrapped themselves around my shoulders. I immediately jumped in surprise and my eyes snapped to whoever was grabbing me. Through my blurry vision, I could make out the outline of my father’s extremely concerned face staring at me. “What are you doing home?” I blubbered, immediately trying to dry my tears to try and hold on to some form of dignity. Dadza looked up causing me to follow his gaze. There I found all three of my brothers standing there as well, staring at me. Of course. Of course this just had to happen. “Do you remember this morning when I told you I couldn’t get the day off?” I let out a sniff and nodded at the question, of course because had he not, we wouldn’t be in this situation. “Well I lied to you to surprise you. I pulled the boys out of school early and they’ve been helping me set up your birthday surprise… But that doesn’t matter, what happened Y/N? What’s wrong?”
I couldn’t tell him. I can’t. They’ll hurt Tommy. I cleared my throat and shook my head, bringing a hand up to wipe my face. “Nothing… Nothing. I’m fine, forget about it.” I tried to brush the concern off. But Dadza’s gentle hand grabbed my hand and it was then I remembered the blood running from my hand and the finger shaped bruises forming. Dadza examined my hand, “Wilbur go get me the first aid kit please. Techno an ice pack. Tommy, please go finish setting up,” Dadza softly commands my three brothers before turning back to me with a raised eyebrow, “You’re fine?” he asked with a slightly mocking tone. I knew I had been caught.
The tears began welling in my eyes again. After a moment of silence I managed to give an answer, “No” I croaked out, “I’m not fine.” Tears began falling from my eyes once again. Dadza instantly pulled me into him once again and began rubbing my back again. “I’ve got you honey. I’ve got you.” He soothed as I sobbed in his shoulder. As I cried, I could feel someone take my hands and begin to take care of them. A small sting running through them before bandages carefully wrapped around them. A cool presence also settled on my throbbing wrist.
I don’t know how long I cried for. But I needed it. I broke down at least once every week, but crying to someone feels so much better. The tears finally stopped and the sobs turned into sniffs. “Feel better?” Dadza asked softly in my ear. I nodded, my face still in his shoulder. “You want to tell me about it now?” I pulled my face from his body and looked around the room. Techno and Wilbur still remained in the room, but Tommy was nowhere to be seen… Just how I want it.
And so I told him. I told him everything. I told him how hard high school had been for me and how everyone had been so mean to me. I told him what had happened today and what Chad had done. I explained why I was happy to be left home alone for a few hours everyday. How I broke down and patched myself up everyday. And at the end, I explained why I never told anyone. I told them how they had threatened Tommy and how the last thing I wanted was for anyone else to be hurt.
By the end of my ramblings, Techno and Wilbur were visibly fuming. Dadza was calm on the outside, but I could tell he was pissed too. It took a few moments before Philza spoke, “Tomorrow. I will be going down to the school and having a talk with the principal. There is no reason that this should ever happen to anyone, especially not you. When I met with them, they assured me that you would fit in fine and they would keep an eye on you… It’s obvious they didn’t keep that promise.” I couldn’t help the shiver that was sent down my spine at my father’s dark tone. I knew it wasn’t directed at me, but I had never heard this before and it kind of scared me.
“And we’ll be sure to take care of Chad tomorrow” Techno glowers, giving Wilbur a small nod. Philza’s head turned to his sons and he gave them a disapproving look. Wilbur holds his hands up in defense, “We promise we won’t do anything that gets us suspended or expelled… We just want to teach him a lesson.” Dadza hesitated but then gave them a small nod. A small cheer escaped Wilbur’s lips as he and Techno fistbumps. “And I’ll help too!” Wilbur and Techno whip around and part revealing Tommy standing there, his face red and his fist pounding in his hand. “Tommy, Wilbur, Techno… Please you really don’t have to-” “No we do have to. They messed with you, they mess with all of us…. Now let’s forget this for now and go celebrate your birthday”
And so you did. Dadza helped you stand up and walked you into a decorated kitchen. Party decorations of your favorite color and theme littered the walls and the table announcing “Happy Birthday” to you. Your favorite foods sat on the kitchen table with your favorite drink sitting in front of your favorite spot. Had you not just cried your eyes out, you would have cried happy tears. “Guys!” You squeal, rushing forward, looking at everything, “You didn’t have to do all this. Thank you!” The four of them chuckled at your reaction. You quickly sat in your own seat, waiting for everyone to sit down, before digging in. The rest of the night was spent just celebrating you. You got a lot of gifts from your family and ate a lot of ice cream and cake and just all around had a good time.
*Time skip to the next day*
The next morning was the first morning in a while that I didn’t absolutely dread going to school. I rode to school with dadza. Wilbur and the boys following behind us in his own car. When we got there, Dadza went straight to the office and the four of us siblings stuck together instead of immediately branching off from each other. I couldn’t help but smile to myself as I heard my father’s voice boom asking where the principal was.
The four of us continued down the hallway until we passed Chad. “Hey bitch!” Chad called from his spot leaning up against the lockers. I was a little surprised at his boldness, usually when I was with my brothers, nobody bothered me, but I guess he didn’t care today. I didn’t even get a chance to respond because in the blink of an eye, Techno had him pinned up against the lockers. “What did you just say to them?”
Instantly, Chad’s demeanour changed, “Hey man, get off of me!” He exclaimed, trying to get out from under Techno, but my pink haired brother’s grip was too strong. “No, no, no… You’re going to tell me what it is you just said to them” Techno repeated, his tone extremely dark. Wilbur slowly walked up behind him and smirked at the trapped bully, “Yeah. I mean you seemed so brave just moments ago. Almost as brave as you were yesterday, come on big man. Where’s that bravery now?” Chad’s gaze shifted from my brother’s to me, “You fucking snitch! I told you not to tell, now you’re going to pay!” Chad once again tried to get out of Techno’s grip, but he was immediately slammed back against the lockers. Techno let out a small tisk, “That was the wrong answer Chad. You should know by now I don’t like repeating myself.” Techno growled, lifting Chad from the locker and slamming him back against it.
Chad let out a small gasp of pain as the loud crash sounded, “You can’t do this! You two are both 18, I’ll sue. I’ll press charges.” Chad gasped, panic slowly filling his voice. That seemed to break through to Techno. Techno let out a huff of air through his nose. “If I ever catch you messing with Y/N again, I will end you” Techno grumbles out before letting go of Chad and taking a few steps back.
Chad takes a moment to collect himself before the stupid smirk returns to his face. “That’s right. You’re not so big and bad are you?” He taunted my oldest brother. I watch as Wilbur has to literally grab Techno and restrain him from completely pouncing on the bully. Chad only smirks at the chaos he’s created.
To my surprise, Tommy steps in front of him. “You better watch your mouth,” Tommy spoke to the bully. “Oh yeah? And what are you going to do about it?” Chad asked with a huge smirk on his face. Tommy didn’t answer, he just stood there staring at Chad. I could tell Chad was getting nervous under Tommy’s stare. Finally he’d had enough of the silence, “You’re such a freak just like your sibling,” Chad announced, reaching forward and shoving Tommy as hard as he could. Tommy stumbled back, but it seemed as though that was what he was waiting for. “Oh, you’re going to regret that” Tommy announces with a smirk, popping his knuckles. Chad let out a scoff as he rolled his eyes, “Sure kid. It’s not like you’re going-” Chad didn’t get to finish because Tommy’s fist connected with Chad’s face. Tommy had reared back and punched Chad in the face as hard as he could.
A gasp sounded throughout the hallway and it was then I noticed that there were a bunch of people that had gathered to watch what was happening. Chad went down like a sack of potatoes, just crumpling to the ground. For a moment, everyone was frozen. No one could believe what had just happened. Finally Tommy moved and looked around at the group that was staring at him. “That’s right!” Tommy announced loudly. His eyes met mine and he smiled before walking over and wrapping his arm around me “This is my sibling. If I ever catch you or hear of any of you bullying Y/N, it’ll be you next.” Wilbur and Techno were quick to join the two of us, “Yeah! What he said!” Wilbur cheered, backing up his younger brother.
The office door flung open and my father and the principal walked out. All eyes snapped to the two adults that had just entered the scene. Principal M glanced around the hall, his eyes landed on an unconscious Chad, “What happened?” He asked, moving over to the knocked out boy. “It was self defense your honor,” Tommy claimed boldly, “He pushed me and tried to punch me but I punched him before he could… It was self defense.” Mr. M looked around everyone, “Is this true?” Every single head bobbed in unison at the question. No one was going to snitch. I could tell that Mr. M was a little skeptical but when his eyes met my fathers, he quickly nodded. “Right well… I’ll get him down to the nurses office… Everyone get to class”
With that, everyone broke from their trance and raced off to their classroom. The four of us however made our way over to our father. “What really happened?” Dadza asked, an amused eyebrow raised as he looked the four of us up and down. Techno looked over his shoulder and shrugged, “We can explain later… It’s actually a funny story” Techno claimed with a small chuckle. Dadza couldn’t help but chuckle as well, “Well I can’t wait to hear it… I’ve got to go to work now but I’ll see you at home,” Dadza announced throwing his arms open. With no shame we all piled into his arms and had a big group hug. Dadza let us go and we began to head off to our classes.
“Oh wait! Dad!” I called, stopping my father from leaving, “What did you say to the principal?” I asked, really curious. A small smirk appeared on my father’s face, “I’ll tell you when you’re older… Just know that you’re never going to be bullied in this school again… And if you are, let’s just say there are some jobs at stake… I’ll see you later kiddo. Love you!” “Love you too!” And then he was gone. I walked to my first class, the teacher not even questioning why  I was late.
After that day, I was never bothered by bullies again. Everyone either was very nice to me, or they avoided me completely. Tommy and I spent a lot more time together. The boys had grown even more protective of me ever since they found out. I didn’t mind though, they’re my boys and I love them. Sometimes you need someone to stand up for you, to protect you, and to take care of you. And I couldn’t have asked for better boys to be that for me.
There you go. I hope you enjoyed! If so be sure to leave a like or maybe even a reblog or reply telling me your favorite part/what you liked!
Find out what Philza said to the principal here lol

Ateez being jealous
I left some of these open ended cause I might want to write a second part to this
Seonghwa
Your boyfriend had invited you over to watch him practice for an upcoming award show. The choreography was intense and it was hard to pull it off. He got rap parts for the song so that was the cherry on top. All he wanted was to show you how hard he was working and for you to be proud of him.
You met the rest of the boys through Seonghwa and supported them wholeheartedly. Unbeknownst to you, Seonghwa invited you for selfish purposes but you had eyes on all the members and cheered them on. That didn't sit well with Seonghwa.
Yeosang had the hardest part in the choreography and you cheered for him every time he executed those moves. What worsened things was that Seonghwa couldn't do his part the way he wanted to and that made him angry. When the head choreographer announced a break you came running to him but he didn't spare you a look.
"Seonghwa you did great!"
"hmm"
"don't overburden yourself, you'll get it right, I know it"
"can you leave?"
"what?"
"I can't concentrate with you cheering for everyone else, please leave"
Hongjoong
You finished your semester and to celebrate, Hongjoong invited you over to have a little pizza party, just the two of you, since the other members had schedules. He was alone in the dorms when you came. It was a wholesome date, snuggles, pizza and netflix. Some time later he showed you the piece he was working on for a rap song him and Mingi were planning to release.
You praised him and gave him feedback. Hongjoong was the happiest. He was about to kiss you when Mingi walked through the front door and entered the living room. You were really close with him so he came in for a hug which you gladly returned. You then asked him to show you his rap verse and he did. You were a huge Mingi fan and everyone in Ateez knew that. So you unconsciously praised him more than you did Hongjoong, which didn't sit well with him. He held his breath and didn't cause a scene because 1) he knew you were supportive of the members and 2) Mingi was his and your friend and an outburst from Hongjoong would hurtyou both.
He controlled his feelings and became quiet which didn't go unnoticed by Mingi. Sensing that his friend was spacing out he excused himself, patted his shoulder and mouthed an 'I'm sorry' before leaving for his room.
Yunho
He had been wanting to see this movie with you but didn't get the chance to tell you because of his busy schedule. He knew you'd love it and all he wanted was for you to be happy. When he was done with album promotions and got a day off, he got the perfect chance to meet you for a movie date before going to his home town. So he came to your apartment. You were very excited to see him and wouldn't stop hugging him. You guys talked about random things and you told him what you were up to while he was busy.
"I really really missed you that day Yunho, I missed you so much I called my friends and cried to them about how much I miss you. So they came over and we went out. We went to KFC and had ice-cream from McDonald's later. Oh and then we went to see this new movie that came out. It was really good, you should watch it too. I'm very thankful to my friends for taking me out that day, the food and movie made me feel really better."
When Yunho heard you talking about the same movie he was about to ask you to see with him, he felt devastated. He didn't want to, but he got sensitive about it and felt bad.
"you could've called me, I would have taken you to see that movie."
"but I didn't want to disturb you, you were so busy doing your thing."
"didn't want to disturb me? or didn't want to see the movie with me? and rather see it with your friends."
"what's so wrong with seeing the movie with my friends? And you're the one who set this rule about not meeting up for dates while you were promoting."
"it was just a movie, I could've made time to take you to see it!"
You were silent for a moment.
"you're right Yunho, it's just a movie."
Yunho caught on with the hurt in your tone but was too clouded by his jealousy that he didn't stop there.
"maybe you should go out more often with Robin then." he said knowing Robin was nothing more than a close friend to you.
"Robin is my friend and you know that."
"sure. Didn't we start as friends too."
Your jaw dropped at his words.
"I'm out of here." he said in an annoyed tone and got up to leave. You followed him and tried stopping him.
"you're doing all this just because I watched that movie with my friends and not you?"
"I'm doing all this because your friends care about you more than I could, so why not get out of your way and make things easier for you." he said and slammed the door shut.
Yeosang
You visited their dorms to see Yeosang because he wasn't feeling well. He worked out too hard and his body was sore so you came to tend to him until he felt like he could move his body without discomfort. He was on his bed and you sat on the chair. He moved a little and you immediately got up to hold his hand.
"hey don't move, tell me what it is."
"it's okay I just needed water, I can reach for the glass."
"let me do it Yeosang, just stay still for now."
He had heart eyes and was thankful for you. You lifted his head and brought the glass to his lips. You gently rested his head back on the pillow and were about to get up when he grabbed your hand.
"I need something."
"what is it?"
"give me a kiss."
"oh God Yeosang! Do the guys know how cheesy you tend to get?"
"they don't need to know." he smiled.
You placed your hand on his chest and lowered yourself to kiss him but were interrupted by Wooyoung suddenly entering the room. You moved away from Yeosang but he still had a grip on your arm. Wooyoung stomped to his bed and sat with his head in his hands. Yeosang nudged you to bring your attention back to him but you were worried for Wooyoung. Yeosang let go of your arm when you turned to look at his friend.
"hey is everything okay?" you asked.
"no" Wooyoung answered. You got up before Yeosang could grab your arm again and sat next to Wooyoung, patting his back.
"what's up? you can tell me."
"she was cheating on me with my friend." he said with a shaky voice, wiping his tears.
Yeosang scoffed, earning a glare from you. He wanted to comfort his friend in a time like this but he acted on his jealousy instead. He wanted you to sit next to him and not Wooyoung.
"didn't I tell you she was faking it? didn't I tell you she loved Yedam and not you? but you were just too in love to listen to me."
"Yeosang!" you warned him.
Wooyoung lifted his head to look at Yeosang, showing his red tear stained face. Yeosang looked unfazed and stared back at him, now sitting up on his bed. You didn't help him up, too annoyed with the way he was reacting to his friend's horrid break up.
You made Wooyoung face you instead and squeezed his shoulder.
"good riddance. You don't need someone who would look at other men when she had you. Be thankful that you got out of this."
Wooyoung whimpered at your words. You wanted to hug him but you knew it wasn't right so you gestured for Yeosang to comfort him. He scoffed again and you mouthed for him to do it or else. Yeosang hissed a little while getting up, his body still sore.
"I'll leave you two to talk about this, while I get ice-cream for Wooyoung to cheer him up."
"thanks y/n, I appreciate it." Wooyoung said.
Yeosang looked at you in disbelief.
San
You and San made it official so it was time to formally introduce him to your best friends. They knew you were seeing a guy who was very loving and caring and had a very kind heart. They were very happy for you because he was the first man you dated in a long time after breaking up with your toxic ex boyfriend 6 years ago. They arranged a surprise party for him and it was just San, you and your three best friends, Stella, Mia and Eric.
You picked him up from his place and drove to the location your friends sent you. San was excited and nervous, something you knew he would feel because he wanted your friends to like him. When you got there he was a little flustered to see the surprise, a separate table for 5 people, drinks already on the table and pretty wall hangings. You squeezed his hand and walked to them. They met you two and congratulated you both. San flashed his bright smile, showing his dimples. Your friends teased you about how handsome he was, making him shy. He was a gentleman and it showed by how he treated you all.
You introduced them individually and they noticed how San didn't shake hands with Stella and Mia and instead put his hand on his chest and bowed politely. When you introduced Eric to him, they revealed that they used to be classmates from grade 6th to 8th before San's parents moved to another city because of his dad's job. They shook hands and San felt a little weird about how he slightly squeezed his hand, making him lock eyes with him. He saw the look in his eyes and it made him uncomfortable. San didn't want to think about it and disregarded it as something in his head.
While talking and having food, San noticed how Eric would talk to you about old times, as if showing off how close you two were. It made him very jealous but he didn't act on it and acted like it didn't bother him.
Eric decided to test the waters and brought up a particular topic.
"so San, how long did it take you to build that muscle? I remember you used to be skinny as hell!" he joked.
You knew San was insecure about his past self and that's why he worked so hard to earn his toned and buff body. You knew Eric was only joking so you didn't interfere.
"haha well I... I became very active in junior year in college and I got these muscles after practicing dancing every day for 4 years"
"damn you went to college skinny?"
Although Eric was joking, nobody liked the joke and before you say something, Mia spoke first.
"what's wrong with being skinny?"
Eric started snickering, "nothing, I just meant that San looked like a kid when he was skinny."
"you went to college with that attitude and that awful haircut, who're you telling what they looked like." you defended your boyfriend who could only laugh at this point. Eric laughed about it and then the subject was changed.
San could feel Eric glaring at him but he chose to ignore him and focused on you.
Mingi
Mingi was headover heals for you the moment he saw you but you didn't like him like that. He saw that but worked hard to get you to notice him. You did notice him and thought he was hot but you didn't see him as a suitable partner for you so you let him be. Mingi, however, was determined to get you to like him so he came to the cafe you worked at, whenever he was free. One time it was raining and you were not that busy since people weren't coming in because of the rain. It gave you time to sit back and relax and it wasn't your turn to clean the counters and tables so you sat at one of the tables and watched the rain peacefully. You heard the bell jingle, signalling someone had come in. You immediately got up to get to your station. You didn't expect to see Mingi there, setting his umbrella in a corner and coming to the counter with a smile on his face. He ordered two coffee cups and two fudge brownies. You perceived that he had to meet someone here. After paying for it, he sat at the table and waited for his order to come. When your coworker placed it on the tray, you took it and served it at his table. Mingi thanked you and smiled warmly. You got back to your station and watched as he sat quietly, not touching the food. After about 5 minutes Mingi called for a waiter and your coworker went to him. He asked her if people came in this weather to which she replied that the cafe was usually empty when it rained heavily so they weren't expecting customers and Mingi was probably the last customer of the day. He thanked her and she returned to her station. Mingi came to the counter after her.
"hey y/n? I uh asked your coworker and she said probably no one's going to come so I was wondering if you would uh maybe want to have coffee with me?"
You could tell he was nervous.
"your date didn't show up?" you teased, making Mingi's eyes widen.
"no no it's not like that. I was hoping you could be my date today haha I ordered the other coffee and brownie for you."
You thought it was cute of him and your coworker said she'll take the orders if anyone comes in so you accepted his request.
You talked with Mingi over warm food and got to know that he's actually a really sweet and intelligent guy, contrary to what you thought of him to be a dumb guy with accidental hot looks. Mingi enjoyed your company too. He was talking about the song he was working on when another coworker came out from the staff room and walked over to the table when he saw you there with Mingi. He tapped your shoulder to get your attention.
"slacking are we?" he asked.
"what's it to you? Go back to your rat hole and let me be."
"it's lonely in there." he fake pouted. You were annoyed. He sometimes tried flirting with you but you never showed interest. Mingi saw the exchange and was jealous of the dude.
"come on I'm waiting for you." the guy tried again.
"I think it's pretty clear she doesn't want to tag along so why don't you leave her alone buddy." Mingi sternly said. The guy had no choice but to leave.
You were thankful for Mingi's help, even though you would have easily told him off too, but something about Mingi doing it made you feel butterflies.
"I've seen his kind, they just don't know when to stop. Just smack him in the head next time he tries something." Mingi said making you giggle.
He felt accomplished to have made you laugh and deep down was dying to get your number.
Wooyoung
Wanting to pick up another style of dancing, Wooyoung enrolled himself in a dance academy. Aside from ATEEZ's activities, he really wanted to learn this style.
It was particularly hard for him to grasp so he spent any free time he got at the academy, practicing. 6 months in, he got close to a few people in the academy but he had no time to spare. He was determined to get it right this time around so he decided to stay until they told him to leave. After much hard work he got a hang of it so he took a little break to rest his body in order to dance again. He was passing by one of the classes he was drawn to the music and peeked through the glass door and saw a young woman in the dimly lit room, dancing the same dance he was learning. Her dance lines were flawless and she moved effortlessly. Wooyoung was blown away and couldn't resist going inside.
"wow you're amazing" he complimented, after the music stopped. He clapped for her.
She thanked him but hadn't faced him yet, she instead walked towards her laptop and played another track and danced to it. Wooyoung still hadn't seen her face but was absolutely hooked to the way she was dancing.
He watched attentively as she danced perfectly. He wanted to dance like that too. When she stopped and sat down to catch her breath, Wooyoung clapped for her again and went to hand her a bottle of juice. She finally turned to look at him. Wooyoung felt his chest tighten, finding it hard to breathe. He felt weak in the knees. She took the bottle from him and thanked him. Wooyoung sat beside her, pupils dilated. She'd be lying to herself if she said he had no effect on her. She felt giddy and warm by his gesture, not to mention he was hot too.
"can you teach me that dance some time?" he asked.
Seeing this as an opportunity to get to know him better she nodded.
Wooyoung smiled widely, "I'm Wooyoung by the way."
"oh I'm Senna." she smiled back. They sat in awkward silence, tension thick. Someone came inside and switched on the lights.
"damn it Senna I was gonna ask you to dance with me for the duo performance!" he whined. He looked like he was close to her and that made him unhappy and jealous.
"huh?" Senna was confused.
"wait you didn't pair up with him for the duo performance?"
Before Senna could tell him no, Wooyoung answered first.
"yeah she was showing me the dance just now."
Senna looked to Wooyoung but he kept up his act.
"come on we have to get this right." he said, holding her hand.
Jongho
Being the reserved person he is, he didn't find it easy to mingle with his colleagues in the kpop industry. He was too shy to walk up to people and introduce himself. He felt he was hopeless and would be the rich single uncle to his members' children in the future. He talked about this with Seonghwa and Hongjoong. They advised him to put his walls down and let someone in. He struggled with it still. One day they were practicing for their dance performance for Ateez's 7 year anniversary. Seonghwa was suffering in silence with Wooyoung and San messing around with him. He noticed a female bb trippin dancer occasionally glancing towards Jongho. Seeing the chance he escaped from the torment and went to talk to Jongho. He subtly brought Jongho closer to her and seized the opportunity.
"hey y/n we saw your performance video, I think it was really cool. Your technique is amazing. Don't you think Jongho."
"haha yeah I uh think it was really good. You're very talented."
"thank you." she said and bowed.
"I'll leave you two to it, maybe you could talk about common interests." Seonghwa said and took his leave. Jongho and y/n started talking and over time became comfortable. They met at every dance practice and grew closer. They exchanged numbers with Seonghwa's help and hit it off from there. They would meet within the company and have little 7/11 dates.
Y/N invited Jongho to watch her performance at bb trippin's dance studio. Jongho went with Seonghwa. Y/N was a passionate dancer and it showed. Her moves were clean and sharp. Jongho felt proud. There was one performance where y/n danced with a male dancer. Their chemistry was excellent and everyone cheered them in. Jongho felt jealous and looked away, clenching his jaw. Seonghwa noticed this and tried soothing him.
"it's only a performance Jongho." he smiled warmly.
Jongho broke out of his trance and listened to Seonghwa's words.
"you're right hyung, it's only a dance."
He understood that she was his and one performance won't mean otherwise.

best part ☁️/ 001. Mama?
masterlist | previous | next
Tumblr media
Kuroo cocked his head to the side and furrowed his brows at the little boy.
“The hell..?” Kuroo muttered, “Maybe it’s the wrong address.” before Kuroo could even turn around, he couldn’t help but notice a familiar voice calling out for the kid.
“Takeru! What did I tell you about opening the door for strangers? How did you even reach the knob?”
“I’m sorry!” the little boy squealed, you sighed and kneeled down to give him a quick peck on the cheek.
“It’s okay, honey. It’s just very dangerous and I don’t want anything bad to happen to you.” your scolding is quickly cut off when you see the man you’ve been expecting for two hours. “You’re late.” you mutter before attempting to shut the door.
“Hey, hey, hey, what’s up with the kid?” Kuroo’s hand is quick to rest on the door to prevent you from closing it on him. “Is this why you wanted me to come in the middle of the night?”
You swiftly carried Takeru, attempting to shut the door again, just to fail as Kuroo put his hand in between the opening of the door.
“Why? Do you think of me differently now?” you asked bitterly. When he doesn’t say anything, you try to slam the door for what seems like the 100th time. Takeru whines, and you immediately apologize quietly.
“Y/N, c’mon.” Kuroo says, grabbing ahold of your the arm that isn’t carrying the boy. “Can’t we just talk? You’re acting so cold towards me..” he chuckles a bit, sliding his hand that was gripping your arm down to your hand, now intertwining them together. “Get it? Cause it’s literally freezing cold?”
You only roll your eyes at him, before harshly yanking your hand off of his.
“Come in. I don’t want Takeru to get a cold.”
Tumblr media
Once you get back from his room, you sit on the chair across from him. There’s an awkward silence at first, it starts off with the both of you making eye contact every now and you then you both look away. Already irritated, you finally speak up.
“What did you come here for, Kuroo?” you sigh in defeat, exhausted from the day you’ve had.
“Kuroo? What’s up with that?” he sounds pretty offended, and you can only bring yourself to sigh once again.
“We’re not dating anymore. It’s been 4 years since I’ve seen you, so I just feel like it’s appropriate for this situation.”
“Situation? Don’t you think you’re being a tad bit over dramatic?”
You shrug.
“and are we just gonna ignore the fact that there’s a literal kid sleeping in this house? Who’s kid is this?”
You look away from him and shrug shyly.
“Holy shit.” he whispers, “You’ve got to be fucking kidding me.”
“Kuroo-! Language!”
“So It’s true?” you turn to face Kuroo with a confused look on your face. Before you can even open your mouth to explain, Kuroo’s already speaking again. “Kenma told me, Y/N—Fucking Kenma! Do you know how that even makes me feel?” He whisper-yelled. He laughs bitterly, before pressing his lips together.
“Y/N, I’m going to ask you this once, and I’m going to need you to be 100% honest with me, okay?”
You nod, taking an nervous gulp.
“Is that kid in the room my child?”
You chewed on your bottom lip nervously, staring down at the ground. You only nod, unable to speak due to the lump forming on your throat.
Kuroo doesn’t say anything, he sighs and puts his head down on his knees to cover his face. “Do you know how long I had to drive in this freezing weather? Just for me to find out that I’m a dad?”
He’s talking gently, you can hear the obvious restrain in his voice telling you he’s trying his best not to lose his temper.
You don’t respond, you don’t really know what to say. You feel like a kid who’s getting lectured at by their parent.
“Shit,” he drags. You can tell his anger is slowly rising. “Who the fuck do you think are keeping me from my son?”
Ah, there it is. He’s fully upset now.
“It’s been four years for fucks sake! I’ve been missing out on four years! And the only reason I found out was because Kenma had to tell me!” He angrily runs his hand through his hair before sighing once again. “Which I had to practically beg him to tell me, by the way.”
You on the other hand, were surprised that Kenma actually told Kuroo. Of course, you gave him the consent to, (given the fact that you couldn’t bring yourself to tell kuroo yourself) but you definitely not expecting this.
“I” he lifts his head and straightens his posture. “I wanna see him-”
“No!” It’s not as if you don’t want Kuroo to form a bond with your—you and his child, but at his current state? No way in hell. Who knows what he might actually tell Takeru? “I’m not going to let you see him while you’re still upset. Look Kuroo, I understand why you’re angry and I don’t blame you at all! But it’s already late, and you’re not being yourself.”
“The hell does that mean? You don’t know me. I’m not the same Kuroo I was 4 years ago Y/N.”
You lean back on the chair you’re currently sitting in before letting out a sarcastic laugh. “Oh really?”
“It’s just like you said. You haven’t spoken to me in 4 years so how could you possibly know?” He crosses his arms before facing your opposite direction. Honestly. He looks like a kid right now. But something he said really hit home for you.
“Because you never let me, Kuroo!” You raised your voice slightly. “We were what—19? 20? I never even planned on ever having children. How do you think I felt when I found out I was pregnant with my ex’s child?”
Kuroo’s eyes widen slightly at your sudden change of emotions. He really wants to understand where you’re coming from, but you just look so hot when you’re frustrated, he thinks.
“And I wanted to tell you—God, I really did, but you never gave me the chance to. I really do want you to meet him, Kuroo. Just not today.”
He sighs and you’re internally praying he doesn’t argue back because you’re already exhausted.
“Fine,” He shrugs “So when can I meet him, then?”
“Well, I was planning on taking him to the park and getting frozen yogurt tomorrow. You can come if you want.”
“Sounds great—“
“On one condition.” You lift your pointer finger to stop him, making him nod is head confusingly. “You’re only coming as a ‘friend’. You cannot mention, or ask Takeru questions about father related stuff. Not until he’s comfortable with you.”
Kuroo looks like he’s about to disagree, until you glare at him and he sighs in defeat. “Fine.” He mutters. “Actually, It’s a smart idea, y/n.” He smiles. “you’re so smart.”
“shut up.”
“right.”
He stands up from where he’s seated awkwardly, walking towards the front door waiting for you to kick him out.
“Wait!”
he turns around, humming while his hands are still placed on the door.
“Since you drove an hour to get here, y-you should probably stay here. It’s dangerous out there.” you say shyly, staring at the ground.
“Aw, is my sweet Y/N concerned about me? So you do care for me even after all these years, huh?”
“No. I don’t. You’re just the father of my child.”
“your ears are turning red, babe.” he chuckles when you immediately cover your ears with your hands. “Thanks for the offer, but I don’t want to bother you or Takeru. I’ll see you tomorrow-“
“You’re not!” you quickly cover your mouth with your hands. Dammit y/n, don’t give him what he’s basically asking for.
His eyes widen, a smirk already developing on his face and all you want to do is slap it off.
“Okay, hun. If you insist.” grinning, Kuroo looks down at the couch before scratching the back of his head. “I’m gonna need some pillows and a blanket though. Unless you want me to sleep in the bed with you, then—“
Dear God. This man needs to go touch grass.
Clapping your hands to interrupt him form continuing his inappropriate sentence, you give him a fake smile. “You know what? Just for that comment, you’re going to actually be sleeping on the couch. I was going to let you have my bed and I sleep on the couch but it seems like you don’t really deserve it. I’m going to get you some pillows. Don’t do anything stupid.”
“You’re saying that like you’re leaving me in the house alone with our kid—“
“His name is Takeru, Kuroo.”
“Right, I knew that.”
Tumblr media
Not even an hour later...
“Tetsuro.”
It’s been 5 minutes since you’ve tried to wake Kuroo up, and he still hasn’t even moved an inch.
“Tetsu.”
Not even the nickname you know he loves wakes him up.
“Kuroo!” you hit him with the pillow you brought from your room, causing him to groan in pain.
“Jesus,” he stretches, “Is it morning already?”
“No.”
“So why did you do that?”
You’re looking away from him now, gripping onto your pillow tighter.
“I..”
You..?” He shakes his head in annoyance, he doesn’t understand why you had to hit him so hard with your pillow.
“Ihadabaddream.”
He bursts into laughter.
“You idiot. What’s so damn funny?” You scoff, crossing your arms. If you knew he’d annoy you this much you would’ve told him to leave by now. He hasn’t even been here for 2 hours and he’s already annoying the shit out of you.
“You’re 23-“
“Oh shut up! Since when does age have anything to do with my nightmares! It’s probably because you’re around.”
“Oh really?” he challenges, using his hands to wipe away the tears that have formed due to how hard he was laughing. “You really haven’t changed at all. Oh, this is too good. What? Want me to tuck you into bed?” He juts his lip out, obviously mocking you.
Don’t punch him, Y/N. It won’t be worth it.
“You look uncomfortable. Come to my bed.”
“And do what?” He asks cheekily.
“I cannot stand you. I was trying to be a nice person but obviously you’re not being appreciative. Have fun sleeping on the couch, loser—“
“I’ll come. Only cause you’re such a cutie.”

Haikyuu Boys and a Single Mom Pt. 3
Featuring: Suna, Bokuto, Kenma
Suna Rintaro
despite being a professional volleyball player, Suna was still a university student, he evenly splits up his days to go to volleyball practice and university
he was always dreading to go to university, but he knew he needed it, and you, being his seating beside you in three classes, made university bearable
you had this amazing aura, always so gentle, and kind, you had a soft smile plastered on your face almost like a motherly smile, your voice was always calm and soft, you were just so breath-taking to look at
although you two never talked that much, Suna already knew a lot of little details about you, he once drove pass you walking to the kindergarten just one street away from your university, he knew that you carry a container of fruits in your bag, you always left as soon as classes for the day was over, and that was only a few among a hundred of little things about you
Suna admired you from afar, as much as he likes you so much it physically hurts him, love just wasn't his priority, his priority was volleyball and his career
or at least he thought
life surely has a great sense of humor because somehow you guys ended up being partners for a thesis paper
"I look forward to working with you Suna" you smiled
"likewise" he says with his usual blank face
Suna didn't want to admit it, but he was excited
"so, where do we work on this?" he asks looking at the notes he took for that class
"well, we can work on it at my place" you say casually while also looking at your notes
"are you sure it's okay?" he asks again to make sure, this girl, the person he's been crushing on for his two years in university is now inviting him to her place
"yeah, i can't really spend a lot of time outside, my son hates it"
and just like that Suna was having a mini heart attack, you were married? you have a son? what-
“hey, you alright?” you asked worriedly
Suna quickly composed himself
“uhh y-yeah, won’t your husband get angry?” he asks
“oh don’t worry I raise Kiro by myself” you smiled
Suna looked at you strangely, unable to keep up
you chuckled at his dazed look “I’m a single mother”
Suna almost breathed out a sigh of relief, thankfully he was able to stop himself or else you would get the wrong idea
“yeah, yeah sure, let’s work on it at your place” he snapped out of it, did he sound too happy to hear that you were single? yes, but we ain’t gonna talk about that
what was your ex thinking? he was pretty sure your kid was cute and you were so breath-taking to look at, what a stupid guy
“what does your son likes?”
“hm?” you asked him to make sure you heard him right
“what does your son likes?”
later in the evening, Suna showed up at your place with chocolate chip ice cream and the most expensive sushi he could find
you worked on your project for a good two hours, finalizing the outline of the thesis, while Kiro sat on Suna’s lap, your son immediately liked him, maybe because of the ice cream and sushi , but Kiro was very fond of him
“Kiro, baby, get off of Suna’s lap please he might get tired” you said to your son while you were keeping the things you used
“I don’t mind, he’s surprisingly light” Suna says as he bounces Kiro on his lap
“alright, if you say so, I’m going to prepare snacks” you made your way to the kitchen and left the two in the living room
“mister rin-rin” Kiro whispers while tugging on Suna’s shirt
“hm?” he answers looking at the kid, he was right, Kiro was extraordinarily adorable, it felt like he was looking at a smaller boy version of you and it was making her heart go feral, making him break his rules and try his best to get the both of you
“i want you to be my daddy” he whispers while fiddling with his fingers shyly
please this man is about to combust
he pats the boy’s head “sure bud” he said with a smile
“then can I call you dad?” he asks , eyes sparkling
“well it’s better to start early right? sure you can bud” he says, a full-blown grin plastered on his usually stoic face
Bokuto Koutaro
the flashing and clicking of cameras occupied the whole room where the MSBY Jackals were holding their post-game press conference, they won the game by the way and Bokuto was in high spirits answering questions thrown at him by the reporters
it was your turn to ask a question to the players and you stood up “Bokuto-san, your fans are always wondering why you’re always in high spirits, what is your secret?”
Bokuto has never seen you before, were you a knew reporter? because damn he would’ve noticed you immediately if you were on their past press conferences, you looked like a celebrity to be quite honest
“I’m playing volleyball, there’s no room for me to be unhappy” he simply says
it was you first day at your new job, quite frankly, you’re glad you quitted your old one, they forced you to stay behind the camera and write scripts for anchors when you finished a bachelor degree on broadcasting
“Can’t blame him, I’m also happy when I do my job” you mumble to yourself as you remembered Bokuto’s answer to your question
“mama!” you looked at your son who was in the arms of your cousin Kuroo
“hey thanks for doing this for me couz” you say as they stopped right in front of you
“mama! have you seen the game?! they were so awesome! Uncle Tetsu promised me to go meet MSBY!” your son happily jolts in his Uncle’s arm
you looked at him with a motherly smile, happy that you’re son enjoyed the game
“you coming with us?” Kuroo asked
“you two go ahead I’ll just rest for a bit” you were tired with keeping up with the game and asking questions
the two nodded “alright, just show this to the guard and they’ll let you enter” Kuroo says, handing you a pass
you mutter a small thank you as you watch them walk away
let’s just say Gen, your son, was liked by every single member of the team, I mean, who could ever dislike such an adorable kid?
“MSBY cool! Shoyo pwaaa! Boto bam!” he says while jumping up and down, while Kuroo watched his nephew smiling
Bokuto was particularly very fond of him, was it because the kid was unbelievably adorable? or was it because the kid reminded him of a certain reporter? He’d like to think both
“Gen-kun who’s yer fav’rite player eh?” Atsumu asks the kid
the kid looked at eight full-grown man looking at him expectantly, his eyes stopped on the black-and-white haired spiker and made grabby hands towards him “BOUTO! BOUTO!”
the members were disappointed but not surprised at all, kids tend to go to Bokuto or Hinata since they have the friendliest faces
“HEY! HEY! HEEEY!” Bokuto did not hesitate and lifted the boy up in the air, as they both giggle
“Tetsu?” your voice interrupted the commotion inside the room
Kuroo went to the door and opened it for you and the first thing you saw was your son giggling with the person stuck in your head for about twenty minutes now
“Mama!” your son screamed as soon as he saw you and asked to be put down to run towards you giving you a hug on your leg you looked down at him and patted his head gently
Kuroo cleared his throat “this is Y/N L/N my cousin, the mother of adorable the adorable Gen, she is single and ready to mingle, 2 in 1 you get an adorable son and a lovely wife, contact me for more details, the price can be discussed”
you deadpanned at your cousin, why tf was he selling you like an auction, you shook your head
you were hyper aware of the intensity of the owl-eyed spiker, making you blush
while Bokuto was over here thinking, damn he hit the jackpot an adorable son and an absolutely gorgeous wife? you bet he’s in and he’s gonna do everything he can to win you and make you and your son happy
“I’m sorry about him, please excuse me, my son and I needs to leave” you said politely and bowed as you take your son away
unbeknownst to you, Bokuto was in the middle of business with your cousin
“hey, how much for the details?” Bokuto whispers to his bestfriend as if they were in the middle of an illegal transaction
Kuroo looked at his friend with eyebrows raised
“I’ll pay any amount” Bokuto was very serious, which made the former Nekoma captain burts out laughing
“well, since you’re my good friend, a few drinks will do” Kuroo after his hyena laugh session
“Hey! hey! hey! thanks Kubroo!” Bokuto says in his usual cheery voice
later that night, you wondered why you were having dinner with your son, your cousin, and the former captain of Fukurodani, how he managed to get you flowers in such a short amount of time and this late at night was beyond your knowledge. But you weren’t complaining though, how could you when he looked adorable with a flushed face asking for your number after driving you and your son home.
Kenma Kozume
Kenma wasn’t fond of kids, he didn’t disliked them, he just preferred hanging out with adults who were less hyper, proceeds to hangout with Bokuto, Hinata and Kuroo
but he was a gamer and it is inevitable that some of his fans were kids, he didn’t mind it though he is thankful to each and everyone of his fans
being the twenty-eight year old youtuber/CEO that he is, he barely have time to go out and it happened very rarely, and today happened to be one of those rare occasions as he got out to get some ice cream in a very hot summer day
but he was in a for surprise, at an empty alley, he heard a ruckus
“give it back! please give it back!”
it was never in Kenma’s personality to pry, but something was pushing him to go check out what was going on
he went inside to the dark alley and saw four boys, about eight years old, one was in the middle, his clothes all crumpled and dirty, his bag empty, his things sprawled out, scattered in front of him
“you want this thing? it’s not even the latest model, you think kodzu-”
Kenma cleared his throat, already able to register what was happening
“ken” the bully continued
“you know kids, I don’t really like bullies” Kenma starts as he walks towards the little boy, picking up his scattered things one by one and putting it in his bag
“leave, before I report you to your school” Kenma says stoically which made one of the boys drop the game console in his hand as the three of them scramble to get out of the dark alley
the little boy picked up the game console and tried to open it, but to no avail, it was broken
Kenma went closer as he handed him his bag
“are you okay?” he asked as he crouch down to the boy’s level, it was obvious that he was not okay, his face had little scratches and his clothes were all dirty and slightly damped
but the little boy meekly nodded and looked down on his game console, which Kenma noticed
“I can get you a new one” he says in attempt to cheer up the little boy, he didn’t know what was pushing him to do so, but his heart broke at the sight of him broke his heart
“mister Kodzuken, can you please get this fixed for me instead?” for the first time, the boy looked at him with sad eyes
how could he say no to that face? he took the game console and looked at the boy
“is there a reason why you want me to fix it?” he asks
“my mom worked hard to get me that on my birthday, she didn’t buy her favorite coffee, her favorite bread, she patched up her shoes instead of buying a new one, she even lied to me that she wasn’t hungry when we ate out, I don’t wanna make her sad” the boy sadly said and wore his bag
Kenma was in awe, no wonder this boy was so polite and respectful
“alright, how but I’ll call your mother now, she is needed in this situation” Kenma says as he takes out his phone
the boy slowly dictates his mom’s phone number, and when he was done, Kenma was speechless, the number was already registered as his secretary’s number
Kenma shakily presses the call button
“sir?” your voice from the other line, never seize to make his heart skip a beat
“Y/n do you happen to have a son?” his voice was still calm
“yes, how did you know sir? i have a son he’s name is Eiji, he’s eight” you happily told him
“well, I kinda caught some kids bullying him, I think that you’re needed here” he says calmly
“oh no, my baby, i’ll be there ASAP sir, please do send the location”
“I’ll send the location to my driver, he’ll pick you up” Kenma says and hangs up as he send a quick messege and the location to his driver
Kenma was supposed to ask you out tomorrow, that was the reason why he didn’t go to the office today, he was going to surprise you at his place because he didn’t want you, the girl he liked to the horrible people of the internet
you were too pure, too kind, you always made sure to get him something to eat despite his resistance, made sure that he doesn’t overwork himself and even going to the extent where you do some of his workloads, of course he trusted you enough to do so and you’ve been working with him for four years now
but you had a child? did you have a husband? but you’re resume said that you were single? is it a boyfriend?
“you know mister Kodzuken, mama always talks about you when I ask her about her day, I think she’s got a little crush on you” Eiji smiled softly at him
which almost made the former setter melt into a puddle, the boy was adorable, and even if his original plan was to just date you, he was more than happy to have Eiji, having a mini you around made it all even better, he wasn’t fond of kids but the little boy infront of him was an exception
“I think, I can make that happen” he smiles softly
the day after you appeared looking distressed, talked to your son’s bullies and their parents at the school’s principal office with Kenma and Eiji seating beside you, you were now inside your boss’ house, he was asking you to be his girlfriend, your son happily jumping up and down beside him
how could you say no, when four years ago, you were only dreaming of this moment?

Hongjoong was confused when the strange parcel was sent to him. The big, bold 'SKZ' was a clue it was from his rivals. He carefully opened the package, making sure it didn't contain any weird substance. He was shocked when he opened it to find a note that read:
"Give us what we want or we'll harm those you love most."
He widened his eyes when they sent photos of you, obviously taken without your knowledge of your daily life. This was the exact reason Hongjoong broke up with you. It was too dangerous to be with him, so he thought if he left you, you'd be safe, even if it broke his heart to leave you.
But then he saw a few photos that sent a shock through his body. He scanned them closely, making sure his eyes weren't deceiving him. He saw pictures of you..... with a baby.
Hongjoong nearly fell out of his seat.
"Does this mean....?"
Hongjoong quickly got in his car and drove over to your place. He desperately knocked on your door, hoping you'd answer. When you opened the door, you were surprised to see him there and were about to ask what he was doing there, but he spoke up first.
"Do we have a child together?"
Your facial expression was a dead giveaway from the start, confirmed also when you nodded slightly. Looking down, you were afraid that he'd be mad, but instead, Hongjoong pulled you into a hug. Tilting his head, he whispered in your ear:
"I don't want to alarm you, but I'm going to have to relocate you both for your safety. I'll make sure nothing happens to you both. But you gotta come with me now."
You didn't even hesitate to do as he asked, grabbing just a small backpack to pack the important things you needed and to grab your son, who had just woken up from his nap. Hongjoong waited in the living room, anxiously waiting for you to come out. His heart started pounding hard when he heard a small whimper from behind. Turning around, he finally came face to face with his very own child. He smiled tenderly as he came closer to look at him.
"Can I...hold him?"
Hongjoong looked at you for permission, which you happily granted. He choked back tears as he held his son in his hands, unable to believe that this was real.
"Hey little one. I'm your daddy. Nice to finally meet you."

Seonghwa completely forgot about what his task in the little town was the second he saw you. At first he couldn't believe that after months of not knowing about your whereabouts, now he's finally found you. He wanted to break down then and there. He had been so lost after he came home only to find you gone without so much as a goodbye. He spent restless nights and chaotic days trying to find a sign of you, but got nowhere. He didn't even know if you were alive.
Before you could get in your car, he approached you.
"Y/N..."
You dropped your keys when you saw him. You tried reaching down for them, but you were too slow and Seonghwa grabbed them, hindering your plans of escaping once again. He was not going to let you go before he got an explanation.
"Why?"
That was all he asked and you knew what he meant.
"I was afraid....."
He looked stunned.
"Of what?! I told you I would protect you! I would never let anything happen to you! If you had asked me to quit, I would do it in a heartbeat for you!" He didn't mean to get so emotional, but he couldn't contain his emotions that had been bottled up for so long.
"No Seonghwa....I was afraid that you would leave me..."
You sighed as you slowly closed the car door that had been covering you the entire time. Seonghwa trailed his eyes down until they landed on your swollen belly. It didn't take long for him to figure out that you were pregnant and he was the father. He looked back up at you, who had tears in your eyes.
"I was afraid you wouldn't want the baby, afraid you'd leave me if you found out...so I left before you could ever find out-"
You couldn't finish your sentence as you began sobbing. Seonghwa stepped closer to you, pulling you into an embrace, one of his hands resting on top of your bump.
"Y/N, I love you and I would have never left you. I love kids and to find out you're carrying my baby, I......I can't even explain how I feel."
He couldn't help himself and pulled back so he could kiss you. His kiss was filled with yearning and when he pulled back, his eyes were brimming with tears.
"Please come back to me..."

Once Yunho found out that you were kidnapped, he gathered all his men to get you out. He did not care about the fact you broke up with him, he still loved you and could not bear the thought of you getting hurt.
It was a bloody and difficult situation, but he was determined to get you out of there. He finally found you, unconscious and locked inside a cold room. Picking you up, he quickly got you out of there and rushed you over to Yeosang's laboratory, which also served as the clinic for them in case of an emergency....and clearly this was an emergency.
Yunho waited outside, desperately praying and hoping you would be ok. It seemed like forever before Yeosang finally came out.
"How is she?" Yunho immediately asked.
Yeosang sighed as he removed his glasses.
"She'll be fine, only unconscious for a few hours, but she'll pull through. She's a strong girl."
Yunho smiled and tightly hugged his friend.
"Thank you Yeosang."
When he pulled away, he noticed that Yeosang had a grim look on his face.
"Yeosang....is there something wrong?"
Yeosang hesitated before telling Yunho what he had discovered as he was checking on Y/N and running tests on her.
"Yunho....there's something you should know.."
Yunho widened his eyes as Yeosang revealed something he was not prepared for. He looked at him incredulous.
"Are- are you sure?" Yunho asked again.
"Positive. I'd say she's around 4 to 5 months in."
It all made sense to Yunho now. It had been 4 months since you left him and he had most definitely been intimate with you the month before you left. Although he was shocked, he was also happy. Happy to know that you didn't leave him because you didn't love him anymore, and ecstatic to find out he was going to be a dad.
When you finally woke up, Yunho's smile was the first thing you saw.
"Yunho..?"
"Shhh. It's ok. I'm here and you're all right.."
He kissed your forehead as one of his hands went to hold yours.
"And our baby is going to be fine."

"Yeosang?" San called out to him once again after he didn't answer the first 3 times.
"Go away. I'm busy." Yeosang sternly said, refusing to even spare a glance at his friend.
He had been like that for a while. Ever since you left him 2 months ago, he had been locking himself up in his laboratory, refusing to come out, hardly eating or sleeping. He just immersed himself in his work to the point all the other members were starting to get worried about him. San knew it was a distraction, distraction from you and from the pain of your abandonment. Which is why he had gone out of his way to stalk you out and find out exactly why you left all of a sudden. And what he found out, he knew Yeosang needed to know.
"Yeosang...I've been following Y/N for an entire week-"
"I didn't fucking ask you to do that." Yeosang harshly spatted out.
"Yes.....but there's something you should know....the other day I saw her walking out of an obstetrician's clinic.."
Yeosang dropped the glass vial he was holding onto the floor, liquids splashing all over. Panic was written all over his face, which then quickly became rage.
"Fucking knew it. There was somebody else."
San was in disbelief at Yeosang's words.
"What? Yeosang! Are you even listening to me?"
Yeosang grunted as he began cleaning up his mess, not wanting to listen to anymore. But San wasn't giving up. Crouching down, he ripped away the rag in Yeosang's hand and made him look at him.
"Yeosang did it maybe cross your mind that the baby she's pregnant with might be yours?"
Yeosang stayed quiet, not even blinking as he thought over San's words.
"Could be mine......and also could be someone else's.."
San nearly punched Yeosang right then and there.
"You know, I didn't know Y/N half as much as you did, but if there's one thing I knew and never doubted was her love for you. So really ask yourself if you truly believe she'd be unfaithful to you."
Yeosang pondered over San's words for the entire night, tossing and turning as he began reminiscing about your time together. Unable to bear it any longer, he quickly went to your place, not caring that it was early dawn. When you saw him, you freaked out and were about to close the door, but he pushed himself in. Even though he already knew the answer all along, he wanted you to say it.
"Am I the father?"

You let out a tiny giggle as your daughter played with the rattle in her hand. You had decided that since the day was lovely and the weather not too hot, you'd take her out for a stroll in the park. She was already a little over a year old and of course hated being inside for too long. You were so occupied in her cute little antics, you failed to notice the man that was walking towards you until he was right in front of you.
"San..." You cupped a hand over your mouth when you saw him for the first time in forever.
"Hey Y/N." He awkwardly greeted you.
"I thought you..." You couldn't finish your sentence, but San knew what you were talking about.
"You thought I was dead?"
He of course expected that reaction out of you. The last time you saw him was when he had to go out on a dangerous mission. He kissed you and promised you he'd come back, but you didn't hear from him again. When months turned to a year and still no word, you gave up hope and resigned yourself to move on and continue with your life.
Little did you know, that he was alive. He was in a coma for a long time, but he regained consciousness. It took a while for him to function and recuperate, but once he did, the first thing he wanted to do was see you again, hold you again and keep his promise of coming back.
"I told you I'd come back..."
He stepped closer to you. You hesitantly reached out to touch him, afraid of it being another one of your dreams and have him disappear once again. Sensing your worry, San took your hand and placed it on his cheek.
"And I never break a promise."
Unable to hold back, you wrapped your arms around his neck, tears spilling out as you were reunited with the love of your life. San was crying as well. The tiny babbling of the baby in the stroller reminded you that you two weren't alone. San pulled back and gazed upon the little girl in the stroller, who looked at him with curiosity. As San studied her features, he realized how much she resembled him.
"Is she....?"
He looked at you, who were donning a proud smile.
"She's our daughter San."
San cried more as he looked at the baby again, unable to resist himself as he picked her up and kissed her tiny face.
"Oh my God! have a beautiful daughter!"

Mingi carefully opened the door, hoping not to wake you up since it was so late, but unbeknownst to him, you were already awake.
"Mingi!"
You jumped out of the bed and went to go hug your loving boyfriend.
"Wow! Somebody missed me." He chuckled in between kisses.
"Well of course I did. I just needed you back here......I was afraid the entire time you were gone."
Your tiny pout made his heart melt. Mingi had always been a sucker for your cute and adorable nature.
"Baby it's all right. I told you I'm bulletproof. Nothing will ever happen to me." He assured you.
"I know...I was just particularly scared this time..." You bit your lip.
Mingi could sense something was wrong with you. His hands that were still wrapped around your waist felt the tiny tremble that coursed through your body.
"Baby...you're trembling. What's the matter? Is something wrong?"
You weren't sure if you should tell him at that moment since he was probably tired from his long trip and it was late, but you were so overwhelmed and excited to share the news with him that you couldn't help yourself.
"You know how I've told you that I hadn't been feeling well lately?"
Mingi nodded, recalling your phone conversations.
"Well I decided to take your advice and went to see a doctor..."
He couldn't handle the suspense. For a moment he believed something was wrong.
"Oh baby please tell me you're not dying!"
You bursted out laughing.
"No Mingi! I'm not dying. It's nothing bad...it's actually something wonderful."
Taking his hands in your own, you stared at him, wide smile as you delivered the news.
"Mingi, I'm pregnant."
He sucked in a sharp breath at your words, feeling so many emotions at once.
"Are you serious?- Y/N, don't play with me. My heart wouldn't take it if it was a joke.."
When you confirmed it was true, Mingi lit up and picked you up, peppering kisses all over your face.
"You just made me the happiest man alive."

It was a devastating night for you. You had gone out to buy a cake to celebrate and share the good news with Wooyoung: you were pregnant. But on your way back home, you heard weird noises coming from an alley. Keeping out of sight, you were shocked to see the man you loved pull out a gun and shoot someone dead.
You ran back home, trying to process everything you saw. Your first instinct was to run and that's what you did. You only took your wallet and a few things and just ran out of the apartment you shared with Wooyoung. You completely forgot about the fact you left the pregnancy test wrapped in a cute little bow for Wooyoung to see as soon as he came home.
When he did, he was alarmed that you were gone, thinking someone had kidnapped you. But then Yeosang called him.
"She knows. And she's gone."
Wooyoung didn't blame you. He was afraid of you finding out who he was because he knew how'd you react. Instead of going after you, he decided to give you the space you needed, knowing you wouldn't want him around yet. He secretly had people watch over you for him, so he could keep an eye on you and the baby.
He only went back to see you when you suddenly went into labor 8 months into the pregnancy, thus resulting in an emergency c-section. He knew he needed to be there for you and for your child, even if you didn't want him there.
"What are you doing here?" You asked, afraid when you saw him in your hospital room.
"Isn't it obvious? I'm here to take care of you and our baby."
You widened your eyes at that, but refused to show your fear.
"I don't need your help. I'll raise him on my own."
Wooyoung raised an eyebrow at you.
"You don't get to make that decision by yourself. He's my son too and you're in no condition to protest. Once you're both released, you're moving back in with me." He stated firmly.
"I don't want to! I don't want to be around you! You're dangerous-"
"Y/N it'll only be more dangerous for you both if I don't keep you by my side. I don't want rivals getting close to you or the baby. So whether you like it or not, I'm staying by your side."
Wooyoung's resolution only deepened when he went to go see his son in the NICU. He smiled fondly as his finger touched the glass separating them.
"Don't worry. I won't let anything happen to you or your mom. I love you both too much."

"Sir? I have something important to share with you?"
Jongho gestured for the man to come in. The man held a folder out to him.
"I'm sorry it has taken so long, but I finally got the information you wanted. Address, phone number, everything is in there."
Jongho's heart stopped for a moment. Finally, he'd be able to find out where you were after searching for so long. He shakily opened the folder and took a deep breath when he saw a most recent picture of you. You looked fine and healthy, looking like you put on a little bit of weight. His fingers gently caressed the picture, wishing it was really you in front of him.
"There's also something else I found out..."
You came home from another long day at work. You rubbed your eyes as you made your way into your bedroom. When you turned on the light, you gasped when you saw Jongho sitting on your bed.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
The color drained from your face as you realized he knew. You tried so hard to conceal your secret, but Jongho still ended up finding out.
"I- I don't know what you're talking about-"
"Don't play dumb Y/N! You know exactly what I'm talking about!" His voice resonated through the room, hurt and pain could be heard in it.
You looked down at the floor in shame, your hand instinctively resting on top of your baby bump. You sniffled softly as you tried to hold back tears. You didn't notice Jongho had gotten up until he was standing right in front of you.
"Why couldn't you just tell me? Do you not know how torturous it was not knowing your whereabouts? Not knowing if you were even alive?"
You knew he was crying as well and it made you feel more guilty about running away and hiding the fact he was going to be a father.
"Do you hate me?"
Jongho sighed, his arms wrapping around you, one hand tilting your chin up.
"Of course not. I could never hate you. I love you so much my darling."
He pecked your lips before placing a hand protectively on top of your bump.
"And I already love our child."

*GIF NOT MINE*
As you wish boss -Rio (Good Girls)
Hey love ! Thanks for your request, hope you like what I wrote ☺️ Enjoy some smut 👅 This is a longer one and I wrote it late at night , it’s not proofread sorry in advance
Also this takes place in season 2 before Ben transitionned so that’s why there is mention of Sadie
Warning: Language, Smut
Word Count : 3k
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“I need to get Stan out of there” Ruby said panicking as you and Annie tried to comfort her.  Turner had arrested him Tuesday morning and Ruby couldn’t stop crying.
“I know we said we were out, but it’s the fastest way to get the money to bail him out” You called out looking at the both of them
“We could do it!” Annie said confidently “Plus we could all use the money, my sister doesn’t have to know” she continued
“We can’t go behind her back Annie” Ruby replied shaking her head disapproving of the idea. She didn’t want to do that to her bestfriend, but part of her was in need of the cash. “We need to tell Beth”
“We can’t, she’s an addict Ruby, it would be like giving a drink to an alcoholic. She’s trying her best and it wouldn’t be fair of us to bring her back in after all the effort she has done. It would only be one time, enough to get Stan out, enough to help (Y/N) with the divorce and enough for me and Sadie”Annie said trying to convince her.
“I mean, how would we even do it? Did you forget about the fact that we’ve been banned for every wholesale store? Beth’s the one who came up with the idea”
“As much as I love my sister, we don’t need her for that, we all have brains, let’s use them and find a way, it’s shouldn’t be too hard” Annie answered
“And how do we even find this guy, I mean Beth’s always been the one contacting him. Do you even know how to get to the man?” Ruby couldn’t believe she was even thinking about it
“I’ll do it” you said, finally speaking “I’ll get in contact with him”
“And how will you do that?” Ruby said finishing her coffee
“Let me take care of it” you replied, taking her mug to fill it in.
“Don’t” she said motioning to your hands “I have to go get the kids from school, we’ll catch up later”she continued standing up, picking up her purse before leaving
“Ok, so we’re really doing this?” Annie said excitedly
“I guess so, it’s going to help all of us, especially Ruby” you sighed “Anyway, anything to take my mind off of my stupid ex” you said rolling your eyes
“How are you doing by the way, with this whole situation?”
“I’m fine, the kids are starting to get used to it slowly, they’re often talking about his new girlfriend though, it’s kinda pissing me off. I mean he’s the one who fucked up and he gets to be happy with someone else? Like don’t get me wrong, I’m good without him, I wasn’t happy anymore, I was staying with him for the kids. It’s not like we had sex often, but it’s the only thing I miss, you know?” You asked shrugging your shoulders. Of course, you were taking care of yourself when you felt the need to, but you couldn’t help but admit you were missing the touch of a man.
“I get it” she chuckled
You talked for a bit before she left, leaving you all alone as you washed the dishes. When the kids came back from school, you prepared their bags for the weekend as they were going on a camping trip with their father and his new bimbo. He was coming to get the two little ones while you were going to your eldest’s baseball game.
“You have everything? Don’t forget I’m dropping you off at your dads after the game and he won’t be happy if you’re missing something” You said to him as you both hopped in the car, fastening your seatbelt.
“Don’t worry mom, I have everything. Can we go now? I don’t want to be late, Marcus said we could practice together before the game” He said as you drove off.
You never told the girls before, but your son was on the same team as Rio’s son. You didn’t see each other often, most of the time, Rhea was taking him to his games, but when you did see him, you would glance at each other from across the bleachers. He was a totally different person when Marcus was around. He still looked intimidating, but you could see his softer side when he would smile and clap as his son made a good play, encouraging him.
As you arrived at the field, your son went running to Marcus as you looked through the bleachers trying to find a familiar figure. Today was just your luck, as you saw Marcus’s dad sitting there, typing on his phone, probably taking care of business as he waited for the game to start. You made your way towards him, while other women stared at you as you sat next to the man dressed in black. He lifted his eyes from his phone, watching you, as you played with your own fingers.
“How you doing mama?” he said, his voice deep, hearing a gasp coming from a lady behind you. Rio was attractive and you weren’t the only one agreeing to that. Maybe it was the confidence, the danger, the relationship he had with his kid or even the neck tattoo, but you were not the only mom swooning over him. The difference with you, was that you didn’t let it show. They were always trying to get his attention, by sitting next him or trying to make conversation. Some of them even brought juice boxes and snacks for Marcus, trying to make him like them by gaining his son’s appreciation. You, on the other hand, never sat close to him or even spoke to him. Your relationship was strictly business related but it didn’t stop you from thinking about him in a different aspect. You didn’t want to admit it, but you sometimes happened to be thinking about him while pleasuring yourself. You couldn’t help but think about his dark seductive eyes or even his plump lips, and the fact that a man hadn’t touched you for what felt like years made you wish he would roam your body with his strong veiny hands.
You coughed softly “We need to talk” you said looking towards the field
“Yeah? About what” he replied smirking down at you
“Not here” you answered, not wanting to meet his amused eyes “Tonight, my house” you whispered as the game started. You didn’t talk after that you could feel his eyes on you from time to time and you could hear the bickering from behind you making you roll your eyes internally. As the kids won their game, Marcus and your son came running towards you two, looking happier than ever.
“Dad did you see that?” Marcus asked his dad, jumping around excitedly
“I did pap, you did great, who’s your friend?” he said looking at your son
“That’s Lucas, we always practice together”
“Well nice to meet you little man” Rio said smiling at Lucas “We have to go, but I guess I’ll see you around yeah?” He semi asked diverting his gaze towards you, winking, before leaving
You proceeded to go back to your car, heading towards your ex’s house, dropping off Lucas for the weekend
You later got ready as you opted for a more revealing but still classy outfit, waiting for Rio to come over. You were coming down the stairs as you heard a knock, taking a deep breath before opening the door, surprised to meet your ex’s figure.
“Are you going somewhere? You look hot” he said eyeing up and down as you scoffed, rolling your eyes
“What do you want David?”
“Lucas forgot his headphone, he needs them for the ride”
You sighed “Wait here” you got to your son’s room, picking what he needed before going back downstairs, shoving them on his chest “Goodbye David” You said slamming the door to his face. You walked through the kitchen as you grabbed a glass pouring some gin into it. You took a sip as you heard the door open again
“Ok David, what do you want now I told you I-“ you stopped dead in your track as your eyes laid on the tall criminal that stood in front of you.
“That’s not a very nice welcome mama” Rio smirked, his voice thick and croaky, sending shivers down your spine
“You could’ve knocked” You responded your voice laced with attitude as you tried to sound unfazed by his actions
“That’s no fun though” Rio threw back avoiding your remark, stepping closer to the kitchen island as you stood on the other side, fixing him a glass. As you made it slide across the countertop. He took it, nodding at you, before taking a sip himself
“Why did you want to see me (Y/N)?” he questioned you as you tried your best not to look surprised that he actually knew your name. It was the first time you heard him say it and it made you quiver slightly. “We want to do business” You said trying to sound confident as you took another sip of your drink
“I thought you said you were out” he looked amused as he gazed at your fidgeting fingers
“Well, you see, Beth is out, that doesn’t mean we need to stop doing business with you” you swallowed the remaining of your drink, hoping it would give you a boost of confidence. “Of course, no need to mention, it would stay between us” You said stepping a few feet closer to him but not close enough to reach him
“And how would you wash the money” he asked downing his glass, looking deeply into your eyes, a grin plastered on his face
“Why don’t you let me take care of that, you just need to provide the money, and we’ll do the rest for you” You managed to say with a pleasant smile, proud by your assurance
“Ok so 500 g’s to start, and we’ll see how it goes” He shrugged, his voice filled with pure enjoyment as he watched your eyes grow slightly bigger
“500 grand?” You gulped. How would you do that in a week, you didn’t even know how you would proceed to wash all the money
“If you can’t handle it, I can find someone else for the job” he said stepping closer to you
“We’ll handle it” You responded immediately, almost cutting him off. You turned around as you filled both of your drinks, taking a sip right after you put the bottle back on the kitchen counter.
He stared at you, an amused smile on his lips as you almost gulp down the entirety of its content
“Good” he said looking at his glass, now full. “Was there anything else you wanted from me?” he said as he took in your outfit. You were dressed in all black, his favorite color and he couldn’t help but admit that you looked amazing. Beth was good looking, but he always found you breath taking. He took another step forward, facing you completely, your chest almost touching as you hold in a gasp, now feeling nervous. You breathed threw your nose, processing the words that would next come out of your mouth before looking straight at him.
“I want you to fuck me” you said trying to sound confident and demanding. He looked at you closely trying to find one thing that would indicate that you were messing with him
“Don’t joke around mama” He stated raising his left eyebrow, eyes filled with lust, licking his lips softly.
“If you’re not the man for the job, I can always find someone else” you managed to say, surprising yourself with your boldness, as you rephrased the words he said earlier. A smirk appeared on his lips as you went to take a step back to get away from him. He decided otherwise, grabbing your arm, pulling your body to him as you slammed against his firm chest, crashing his mouth to yours, almost gasping startled by his actions. His lips were soft and sweet but at the same time so rough. Your hand moved to the back of his neck wanting more, as you felt him smirk withing the kiss. You had been fantasizing about this for a moment now, and by the looks of it he had been too. His touches were hungry and intense, his hands grasping your waist tightly as you let a muffled moan past your lips. You both pulled away to catch your breath as you diverted your kisses to his neck. You’d always dreamed of putting your mouth on the dark ink covering his throat and you were finally being able to do it.
“Fuck” he murmured as your hands moved up his back, taking his shirt off interrupting your kisses on his neck for a few seconds. Your lips went right back to it, now having more skin to touch. Your hands made their way to his belt, undoing it, looking up at him biting your bottom lip. His eyes were filled with lust and desire, his hand grabbed your neck slightly as you let out a small gasp
“Do I need to remind you who I am sweetheart?” he asked, not liking that you questioned his competence
“Maybe you do” you said with a devilish grin. Your words were enough for Rio to turn you around and to bend you over the counter. His hands found the waistband of your jeans pulling them down, growling at the sight of your almost bare ass. Rio yanked your underwear leaving the bottom half of your body completely naked.  You could feel the warm fluid slowly leaking out from your fold as you anticipated his next move.
“Never question my abilities mama” he said in a husky tone as he slapped your ass hard. You let out a loud moan already feeling the sting his hands left behind. He pressed his growing crotch against you lowering his mouth to your ear whispering.
“Am I clear?” He slapped your ass once again when you didn’t answer, making you whimper. You felt him take a step back as he dropped his pants coming back to press his erection against your bare skin. You pushed your body back to get even closer to him, but his hands steadied your figure, grabbing your hips firmly.
“Did you forget who’s in charge here?” He said teasing your slit with his erected member. “Let me show you” he continued as he pushed his tip inside of you slowly stretching you out making you moan. He groaned lowly as he rammed into you making you shriek in pleasure. It felt better than anything you’d ever imagined before. His tip was brushing your deep spot and you couldn’t contain yourself anymore, screaming as he pushed in and out of you at a fast pace. The pleasure was immaculate as you stood on your tiptoes giving him an even better access to your aching core. He slapped your ass one more time before grabbing a fistful of your hair, bringing you to him as he started kissing bellow your ear.
“Fuck, you’re soaking wet for me” He stated, moving his hand to rub your needy clit. The way he was playing with the bundle of nerves between your shaky legs, brought you closer to the edge.
“Is that what you wanted mama? Am I fucking you good enough?” He asked as your eyes rolled back making you see stars from the pleasure he was giving you. Each stroke was getting deeper and deeper as you grabbed the kitchen counter, moaning loudly, encouraging him to keep pleasuring you like he was doing. He rubbed your clit a little bit faster and before you could even comprehend what was happening, you were coming undone, clenching around him.
“Yes! Oh my- fuck Rio” you moaned, tears welling in your eyes as your orgasm took over you. He didn’t stop, but you could feel his thrusts getting sloppier indicating he was close to his release. The sight of your ass bouncing back against him was all it took for him to spill his loads into you, letting out a throaty groan. He pulled out of you slowly taking a step back pulling up his pants. You stood up, making your way to the bathroom, cleaning yourself as you put on a pair of shorts. As you came back in the kitchen, Rio was still there, finishing his drink, staring at you with a slight smirk on his face
“What’s with the smirk?” You asked trying to sound like someone who didn’t just get railed on the kitchen countertop. He downed his drink, putting it back on the island as he walked forward, standing in front of you. He looked you up and down, meeting your gaze, pulling a piece of your hair back from your face
“I got the job done, didn’t I?” he smiled cockily as you rolled your eyes
“Whatever” he laughed at the way you tried to ignore his previous question. You both knew you were satisfied with what had just happened moments ago even if you tried to hide it.
“I’ll contact you for the drop off” he said as you smiled content that the deal was still on
“As you wish, boss” you answered teasingly as he slapped your ass one last time before exiting throught the front door, leaving you shocked and alone. You liked it and you were scared to admit that you would like for it to happen again. That night, as you got into bed, your mind couldn’t help but wander to the man always dressed in all black. You couldn’t help but to think about his eyes, his hands, his mouth, his cock… Oh how he made you feel so good was not even understandable. Why would you even question his ability to please you? How was he so good at it? Everything he did was just … perfect.
The real question was: was there something he wasn’t good at?

Previously on Good Life:
“What’s going on with you and Pope?”
“Pope?”
“Yeah, he clearly likes you.” The kook chuckled as she placed a curl behind her ear.
“There’s absolutely nothing going on, trust me.” Kie answered as she leaned back onto her hands.
“How ‘bout you?”
“What about me?”
“Like, do you have your eye on someone?” The pogue grinned as Lani blushed, looking away.
“Maybe.” She smirked and smiled at Kie who smiled back. The kook stood up and held out her hand for the pogue to grab. They walked back to the girls to find Sarah almost asleep and Fallon chopping up the manual.
Tumblr media
Lani suggested to play truth or dare trying to put the actual plan in motion, which was to bring the girls together. The game only lasted a few minutes due to Sarah saying stupid things when she chose truth. They felt tired which made them move to the wall of the boat to lean against it. Lani placed her head on Kie’s lap, for her to play with the kook’s curls while Sarah and Fallon sat next to them.
“Hey, guess what? Would you rather... have… I was imagining you like this just now.” Sarah said messily as she took hair out of her face.
“It was pretty funny. Would you ima... would you rather… have nipples for eyes or eyes for nipples? Imagine if you get really old and your nipples…” She continued as the girls looked at her all confused, having no idea what she was talking about.
“Your boobs get saggy, and your nipples, if they were your eyes, you could see if your shoes were untied.” The blonde chuckled, making Fallon roll her eyes.
“Is this your first time smoking or something?” Kie asked, feeling annoyed by her presence.
“Yeah, you’re acting really pathetic.” Fallon huffed as she stood up, walking to the cabin.
“No.” Sarah muttered and fidgeted with her fingers as Lani sat up from the pogue’s lap to sit in front of her, facing the girls. Fallon came back and sat next to Kie as they stayed in silence for a while.
“Girls?”
“Oh my god!” Fallon groaned, feeling annoyed.
“Enough of the ‘hey girls’ bullshit. Why’d you do it?” Kie said quickly getting upset which caused Lani to place her hand on her leg, letting her know she was there.
“Why did I do what?”
“We were best friends, the three of us.” The caramel haired pogue said as she leaned forward to look at Sarah while she talked.
“We stole beers from your dad’s fridge, we watched movies together, we cried over boys-”
“And the next thing we know, we’re watching you have your little princess birthday party on Instagram.” The pogue said after cutting Kie off, feeling a mixture of anger and annoyance.
“It was one party.” Sarah muttered as if the conversation wasn’t important.
“You invited everyone but us!”
“And then you told everyone that we were the reason the party got busted.” Kie said softly as she shook her head in disappointment.
“Well, who else would call the cops?” Sarah asked, raising her voice as she looked at the pogues.
“You never ask, you just let the rumor go… that we were rats.” The curly haired pogues said, beginning to feel sad as she remembered how she felt in that moment. Lani scooted closer to her and held her hand tightly, trying to comfort her.
“You were our best friend, Sarah and you ghosted us… we don't even know why? Like, seriously, what did we do wrong?” Fallon asked, feeling upset as she pulled her knees up to her chest. After more emotional talking, the girls finally came to an understanding. Everything that went down in the beginning of high school was behind them and Lani was happy to have seen that.
The next morning the girls woke up pretty early to wait for the boys. They had a small breakfast while they talked about their revenge plan. Lani gathered her stuff, placing it inside her bag when she saw Kie doing the same thing. The pogue looked up and stared at the kook for a while before being interrupted by the boys, causing Lani to walk to the edge of the boat.
“You forgot your keys or something?” John B asked looking over his sunglasses.
“Need a tow?” Pope laughed as he stopped the boat next to Heyward’s.
“Please don't give them the satisfaction that this worked.” Lani muttered with her back turned to the boys as the girls walked towards her.
“Absolutely not.” Fallon whispered smirking as she leaned over to see JJ.
“Did you… reconcile your differences?”
“No.” Kie spat as she crossed her arms, watching as Lani climbed off the boat into the HMS.
“Obviously not.”
“But we’re willing to work together.” Sarah sighed as she looked at John B who smiled and high-fived Pope.
Tumblr media
That night they were going to put the plan in motion. They were finally going to go to the Crain house and fetch out the gold. Before they left, they all met up at the Chateau, making sure they had everything ready. Lani went over the list one last time before they left: flashlights, dark clothes, rope, pulley and a grappling hook (according to JJ). They all piled the Twinkie and drove to the Crain house, parking across the road from it. Before they climbed out, John B turned and looked at his friends, stopping them from leaving.
“I just wanted to thank you, guys. Seriously. It means a lot to me that you’re here tonight.”
“Aww, you went soft John.” Lani said, tilting her head to the side as she smiled.
“Always.” Kie smiled.
“Of course, man.” JJ muttered tapping the pogue’s shoulder in support. They all climbed out of the Twinkie and walked into the house’s yard. The flashlights were on, guiding them to the basement when the porch light turned on. They all ducked and hid behind some old structure that was covered in plants.
“Great, she has motion sensor lights.” Lani muttered looking over at the door and getting back down.
“We could, uh… move very slowly, maybe?” JJ asked dumbfounded.
“That’s not how it works, J.” Fallon tapped his shoulder with a light chuckle.
“Let’s throw a rock at it.” He suggested again making everyone look at him.
“A rock?” The curly haired kook asked, thinking she had heard wrong.
“Of course, let the axe murderer know we’re here.” Kie whispered.
“Do you have a better idea?”
“Literally anything but that.” Pope said and turned back to the porch, thinking about what they could do. The bright light turned off, making the teens let out a breath of relief.
“Oh my god, the breaker. In the circuit box on the porch.” Fallon said looking at JJ who smiled and high-fived her.
“We used to play hide-and-seek here as kids. And if we were brave enough, we'd go all the way up to the porch.” He grinned as he remembered 9 y/o caramel and blonde haired kids.
“I’ve seen it.” Sarah smiled.
“No, no. You’re not going in the house alone.” John B started objecting, causing the blonde kook to laugh.
“Watch me.”
“Crain chops people into pieces.”
“If you believe that but she’s like what, 85?” Sarah asked, looking around at the teens.
“Yeah, something like that.” Kie shrugged.
“She’s probably barely still kicking.” Fallon said and turned to make her way to the porch when JJ held her wrist.
“Hey, be careful. Please… don’t do anything crazy.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll be careful.” She pecked his cheek and made her way to the porch. Sarah walked behind her some time later while JJ went back to see Lani and Kie making fun of John B.
“Be safe.”
“I’ll be so safe… I’ll be safe for you.” Lani whispered as Pope and Kie laughed.
“Come on, stop it. I’m gonna kill you.”
“How will that keep us safe?”Lani asked with a straight face as everyone chuckled.
Fallon and Sarah slowly stepped onto the porch pointing their flashlights at the wall. The floorboards creaked as they walked closer to the door, not putting too much thought into it.
“Where are the breakers?” The blonde whispered pointing her flashlight all over the wall and quickly stopped once she saw the cable. Fallon moved her flashlight along the cable, until she noticed it went into the house.
“Shit… it goes inside the house.” She whispered and looked at Sarah who stared at her with scared eyes. They walked into the house, slowly, following the cable with their flashlights until they stumbled upon the breaker. Fallon opened the box almost immediately and turned the switch, making the bright light from outside shut off.
“Oh my god, they did it.” Lani whispered, staring at the porch and back at the pogues.
“They did it. Go time.” John B turned and walked quickly towards the basement followed by everyone else. They all piled around the well and moved away to get everything ready.
“Pope, look. This is C.H.U.D, full C.H.U.D.” JJ said filled with excitement as he moved her arm, signalling at the whole place.
“JJ, what the fuck are you talking about?” Lani asked, stopping what she was doing to look at the blonde.
“Cannibalistic humanoid underground dwellers? Have you guys not seen that film?”
“No.”
“Can’t say that I have.” Kie said walking towards Pope to give him a few more stuff. JJ then moved to explain what the film was about which caused Lani to just look at him in confusion. She never thought that things like that would be going through his head. John B told him to shut up and moved to Pope as he began to ask some things about the depth of the well. They got the rope ready as the pogue sat at the edge waiting for his friends to give him the ok.
“Guys, I have one request.”
“Yeah?” The teens asked, looking at him.
“Don’t drop me.” John B descended into the well as Lani nodded.
“Cool… no pressure…” She walked and stood next to JJ, holding a piece of rope as they moved it slowly. They kept lowering him until he got to the bottom, surrounded by sewer looking water. JJ and Pope kept calling out for him, making sure he was okay. Upstairs, Fallon and Sarah ran from Mrs. Crain was chasing them with a shotgun, even though she was blind. Suddenly, the girls stumbled into the basement, out of breath making everyone turn to them.
“Woah, you guys okay?” Lani asked with worried eyes.
“Mrs. Crain! She’s up there.” Fallon shouted, placing her hands on her knees as she caught her breath.
“She tried to kill us with a fire poker.” Sarah held her stomach as she breathed heavily.
“We gotta go.” Kie said and ran to the bags, getting the flashlights and everything gathered.
“We locked her in the parlor but we really need to leave.” The caramel haired pogue said, walking to the exit as Kie trailed behind. JJ and Pope alerted John B but when he began to shout the teens went crazy, thinking he was drowning. Everything grabbed a piece of rope and began to pull quickly, noticing that the boy wasn't attached to it. After a few minutes of trying to him out, Mrs. Crain had followed the ruckus and made it down to the basement. She heard voices and pulled the trigger causing a loud bang to echo around the room.
The teens ran in different locations, trying to cover themselves. JJ tied the rope as Pope shouted down the well, telling John B what to do. They all ran out of the basement and climbed into the Twinkie. Pope and JJ were in front while the girls were in the back, holding the door open for John B. The blonde began to drive as a figure appeared to jump over the stone wall. He ran down the street and threw himself into the van as Lani slid the door close.
“Oh my god. That was fucking crazy.” The kook said, leaning against the door, feeling tired.
“Are you shot?” Pope asked, turning his body to the very dirty pogue.
“No.”
“I think I’d know if I was shot right?” Kie questioned, touching her chest but quickly looking down at the boy in disgust.
“Ugh, John B you smell like ass.” Everyone chuckled and began to talk about Mrs. Crain and how she was like Yoda. Lani drifted from the conversation and stared at the pogue who was taking something out of his jacket, it was shiny.
“What is that?” She asked, grabbing everyone’s attention. Sarah looked down at her boyfriend and gasped, quickly smiling.
“No, you didn’t.”
“We did it, baby!” John B shouted with a huge smile on his face. The van erupted in celebration and screams until Kie held her hands out.
“Wait, wait, Guys, we’re gonna be rich.”
“Like full kook rich.” Fallon smiled looking at JJ through the rear view mirror.
“Full kook, full kook, full kook!” They chanted on the way back to the Chateau. Once it was over they started laughing, feeling nothing but joy. It was quickly replaced with worry once Fallon sat back and winced when her arm touched the cushion. Lani’s head turned to her immediately, watching the pogue holding her arm. When she parted her hand it was covered in fresh red blood.
“Fallon’s hurt!” The kook said as she moved towards the pogue, quickly helping. JJ’s eyes went wide and looked through the mirror in fear.
“What do you mean she’s hurt?”
“She’s bleeding from her arm… It’s too deep, she needs stitches.” Lani said loudly for the blonde to hear her as the girls piled around her. Kie looked for the emergency kit and gave it to the kook, making her automatically start working.
“JJ, how far are we?” She shouted as she opened the kit, making sure everything was there.
“5 minutes!”
“I can’t wait 5 minutes, she’s bleeding a lot.” Lani muttered and turned, grabbing two flashlights and handed them to Sarah and Kie.
“Hold these up.” She put on her gloves and opened the alcohol bottle, pouring a bit on Fallon’s arm. The pogue winced in pain, making Lani look at her with eyes of pity.
“I’m sorry, I know it hurts but… I-I need to make you better, okay?” Fallon nodded and Lani quickly pressed a gauze on it as the pogue whimpered in pain. JJ sped down the road, getting to the Chateau almost immediately. They got out of the van and the blonde sprinted to Fallon, feeling scared when she saw all the blood.
“Hold the gauze hard on her arm, okay? I’m gonna get the stuff ready.” Lani said and ran inside the hut, gathering her supplies. JJ sat the pogue down in the dining room, holding her hand the whole time. The kook ran back and moved a chair, closer to Fallon as she tapped J’s hand to let it go.
“You know how to stitch? H-How are you gonna do that? You’re not even a real doctor.” JJ rambled as he stared at Fallon losing more blood. Kie and Sarah pulled him outside as Pope stayed to help.
“How do you know how to stitch?” Fallon muttered weakly, clearly feeling scared as Lani cleaned the area.
“My mom is a surgeon, she has taught me a few things… and I took a few medical classes since I skipped a few grades.” The kook said placing the bloody gauze down and picking up the gloves to put them on. Fallon’s eyes watered as she knew what was happening next.
“Hey… you’re gonna be okay, I promise. This is gonna be quick.” Lani smiled as she picked up the needle, getting ready to stitch.
“Pope, get her some pain killers.”
“I’ll be right back.” He muttered and ran off to the bathroom as the kook pushed the sharp end through the skin. Pope came back and gave Fallon the painkillers as Lani stitched up her arm while the brunette pogue assisted. After a few minutes, the stitches were done and the kook placed gauze over it. Then wrapped it with a bandage.
“All done.” She whispered and stood up, gathering everything that had to be thrown away.
“Thank you, Lani.” Fallon said with watery eyes as she grazed the bandage with her fingertips.
“Anytime.” JJ walked in and immediately ran to the pogue, examining every part of her to make sure she wasn't more hurt. Fallon fell asleep on JJ’s bed while everyone else sat around a bonfire with beers, celebrating the Royal Merchant gold.

description: it’s been five years since the Miroh Heights murder cases came to a close — and five long, bittersweet years since you’d caught a glimpse of Han Jisung. Things in Miroh Heights have changed drastically since then — but when Felix sets you up on another blind date in an attempt to help you move on from the past, you realise that, once again, you’ve signed up for much more than you bargained for.

epilogue.
“See ya, Miss l/n!”
You turned to wave back at the little girl who had called your name, her round eyes visibly bright from the waiting room of your clinic. Seven years old, front teeth just beginning to come in. One of her hands clutched a half-unwrapped lollipop as her mother held onto the other.
The first time you had seen them, the child had been unwilling to speak — bullied relentlessly at school, her mother had informed you through a veil of desperate tears — but now, her laughter filled the warm air, traumas that had once been etched into a too-young face already beginning to heal and fade.
Evening sunshine warmed your cheeks the moment you stepped out of the building’s doors, a light breeze rustling the papers in your hand as you quickly tucked them into your bag. “Five years of graduate school hasn’t made you more organised,” Felix often teased you, and you would smack his shoulder in retaliation.
Five years hadn’t changed your friendship in the slightest, either—and you had to admit you were beyond grateful for that.
As always, the city around you was humming with life: evening rush hour, with people darting here and there, frantically flagging down taxis and catching their buses. Usually, on days like these, you should have been hopping into the first cab home and collapsing like a corpse as soon as you reached your apartment. But today, you remembered with a sigh, was not going to be one of those days.
“Hey, Doctor l/n!”
You whipped your head towards the voice, a smile spreading across your tired features as you saw who it belonged to. In a slightly jaded Mini Cooper—second hand, of course, but worked just like new — Yang Jeongin waved at you from the driver’s seat.
“I’m not a doctor, ‘innie,” you reminded him playfully as he unlocked the passenger door and let you climb in.
“Not a doctor yet,” he corrected you, grinning. “Besides, ‘child therapist’ doesn’t have as much of a ring to it.”
You rolled your eyes, laughing, and waved at another one of your patients as Jeongin started the engine. “You really didn’t have to offer to drive me, you know — the streets are a nightmare during this hour.”
“It’s not that far,” Jeongin protested, “Plus, I barely get to see you now, you’re so busy.” You didn’t have the heart to argue. The kid loved being behind the wheel so much, he made it seem like you were doing him a favour.
You watched Jeongin turn onto the main road, squeezing the car in between a van and a motorcyclist. He really had grown up over the last few years — his hair was darker now, remarkably sharp cheekbones overtaking his once-rounded cherub cheeks — but in some ways, nothing had changed at all. He still had that natural knack of brightening whatever room he stepped in — the Yang Jeongin effect, Hyunjin called it. And his heart was still too big for his own good: you remembered how he had adamantly refused to take the money Jisung kept offering him after the case had finally closed, and when Hyunjin had asked him why, Jeongin had simply replied, “After everything that’s happened, it doesn’t feel like he’s the one who owes me.”
On the other hand, Jeongin had been more than happy to take Prosecutor Kang’s compensation money instead, and had finally visited a car dealership with you and Hyunjin.
The moment he had seen the Mini-Cooper — a beat-up thing from the 90s that you were amazed was still running — the younger boy’s eyes had lit up. “It’s just...it looks like the one our family used to have, before...the incident,” he had explained sheepishly, making you and Hyunjin exchange a look. And so, after a fiery back-and-forth between you and the salesman—not to mention a few sleepless nights at the mechanic’s — the rest was history.
The light turned green, and you spotted a photograph wobbling on the dashboard — a laughing child you recognised immediately as Jeongin. Behind him, a woman with a familiar wide smile had her arms around a man with eyes resembling a fox’s, with none of the slyness. “How’s your dad these days?”
“Mostly stays at home taking care of my mum, but he swears he wouldn’t have it any other way.” Jeongin turned his head to you excitedly, as if a thought just hit him. “She got out of bed a couple days ago, you know? The first time ever since my dad left.”
Your mouth fell open in a surprised smile, and Jeongin continued, “He’s real excited he got to teach me how to drive, too. I think he feels like he missed out on a lot of things, like...walking me home from school. Teaching me how to ride a bike. Graduation.” He shrugged. His words might have sounded sad at first, but you could see the way the lines of Jeongin’s face were more relaxed now, at peace.
“Mind if I make a quick stop?” Jeongin asked abruptly, and you checked your watch before shaking your head lightly.
“I’m still about twenty minutes early. We’ve got plenty of time.”
He turned onto a familiar street, and you rolled down the window as Glow Cafe slowly came into view. It was just as busy as it had ever been — even the cars were stalling by the curb — but Hwang Hyunjin spotted you almost immediately, waving through the glass window. Quickly hopping out, Jeongin popped the trunk open, and you watched him haul two crates of coffee beans into the bustling cafe. The once-famed “delivery boy” of Miroh Heights only really did deliveries for Glow Cafe now, after Hyunjin had offered Jeongin a position as a barista until he graduated—and although he wasn’t the best with his hands (or his memory, for that matter), Hyunjin didn’t mind in the slightest.
“Him being here is more than enough for business. You should see the students flock in here every morning just to catch a glimpse of him.” The former barista snorted. “What’d I tell you? They’re eating him right up.”
They waved at Jeongin now as he jogged obliviously out of the cafe, Hyunjin’s laughs muted by the glass as he threw you a knowing wink. He had graduated himself, two years ago, officially inheriting the business after his grandmother had passed away. Glow Cafe had since come a long way, with Hyunjin always at the forefront of new design ideas and enthusiastically telling you about his plans to expand even more in the future.
“Get this: ‘CEO Hwang, the most eligible bachelor of Miroh Heights,’” Felix held up his hands as if picturing a giant headline, giving his signature wolf whistle as you burst into laughter and Hyunjin kicked the blond man in the shin. “Ow!”
“How did you even get into the press with those cheesy titles?” Hyunjin  groaned.
“Not just ‘get into the press’, ‘jinnie,” you reminded him, giggling, “he’s the head journalist now!”
It was true—with his impeccable wit and seamless way with words, it came to nobody’s surprise when Felix maneuvered his way to the top of the local press in a matter of years. The head of the press still loathed him with a biting passion— “I can feel her glares all the way from her office,” Felix retorted — and rumour had it that the two seemed to fire shots at each other all day long. The image of a powder-faced, middle-aged woman bickering with your notoriously insufferable best friend made you laugh, but you also knew deep down that Felix always took his job more seriously than he let on. His eloquent articles had gotten his name out across the city in no time,  and so you took comfort in knowing that — no matter how hard the head of the press bared her teeth—nobody could touch Lee Felix now.
Five years, you thought to yourself wistfully, eyes catching a familiar detective’s office as Jeongin drove past. What a trip down memory lane. You’d seldom come by this part of town since then, and seeing the familiar buildings sent a flood of memories and mixed feelings stirring in your chest.
The well-loved Detective Bang, much to the disappointment of adoring students and professors alike, had moved abroad to a bigger city—whether he had been taken by a new precinct, or a new big case, you couldn’t be sure. “Rumour has it he’s doing undercover work now,” Seungmin had mentioned to you once in passing, “We haven’t heard from him in a while, but he’s making a big name for himself out there, that’s for sure.”
The District Nine police station whizzed by you in a blur, and more of the prosecutor’s words rang through your head.
“Meanwhile, the chief of police keeps insisting he’s glad to be rid of him, but we all know he secretly misses Chan.” Seungmin had shaken his head, and you had smiled at the image of the stoic police captain—chief, now—grudgingly sulking over the loss of his best friend.
Jeongin made one last turn, and the narrow buildings opened up into the heart of Miroh Heights—the oldest part of town, where the roller rink, record shop, and the diner were. The sight of Mia’s Diner made you sink down instinctively in the passenger seat, and you couldn’t keep the raw dread out of your voice as you let out a long sigh.
Jeongin gave you sympathetic look. “For someone who’s going on a blind date, you don’t sound too happy.”
“That’s because I’m not, Jeongin. I don’t even know why Felix keeps insisting on these. The last time I agreed to one was—” you broke off before you could finish what you were saying, the unspoken words echoing in your mind. The last time I agreed to one was when I met Jisung.
That’s right—the last official blind date you had been on, you had met Han Jisung — and he had turned your entire world upside down. For years afterwards, you had told yourself that you wouldn’t take that day back for the entire world, but now...now, you weren’t so sure.
After all, how could you be sure of someone you hadn’t heard from in over five years?
The rehabilitation centre didn’t allow letters in or out— you had learned that the hard way after your first letters had been sent directly back to your doorstep. Usually, they had told you, if things went well, patients could start correspondence again after a year or so—but you had gotten absolutely nothing. Not a single word.
Five years—he should have been out by now. He could have been anywhere, doing anything—but he certainly hadn’t remembered to write or even call you.
Had he really forgotten about you?
“Five years is a long time, y/n,” Felix told you gently, after you had adamantly refused the blind date he kept insisting on. “People...change, and maybe he’s—moved on.”
Moved on.
You didn’t know how to tell Felix how much the thought of that hurt more than you were willing to admit, how this was the sole reason why you hadn’t been able to go on a single date for the past five years. You didn’t know how to tell him that Jisung hadn’t left your mind since the moment he had disappeared from your sight, five years ago, in the corridor of that courthouse.
“I’ll be waiting,” Jisung had said.  And yet he was nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, Felix wasn’t taking no for an answer.
“You’re in your mid-twenties now, y/n. Loosen up a little, yeah? You’re allowed to go on dates, for goodness’ sake.”
“I’m hopeless, ‘lix. I’m pretty sure the stray dog on the street has a more interesting love life than me.”
“Maybe,” Felix mused, “I think I saw it running around with a litter of puppies the other da—ow!”
“You okay? You look kind of sick,” Jeongin remarked, pulling you out of your thoughts. “Got everything you need?”
You resisted the urge to laugh. If only Jeongin knew how you had prepared for this date—by mapping out all the ways you were going to end it as quickly as possible. Faking food poisoning? Check. Arrange a time for a friend to call you and pretend an emergency came up? Check— although Hyunjin had had a strange glint in his eyes when he had agreed to it. Worst comes to worst? Pepper spray, check. You let out a slow exhale. “Sure. All set.”
You thanked Jeongin with a hug and hopped out of the car. Just as you began walking towards the diner, you heard him call out behind you.
“Oh, yeah, Felix told me pass on a message — from him to you.” You turned back, and Jeongin gave a boyish grin that was half apologetic, half laughing. “‘Go get ‘em, tiger!’”
You gave an exasperated cry and yanked open the diner door.
━━━━━━━━
You were beginning to wonder if you’d been stood up.
Mia’s Diner was usually busy, bustling with students and townspeople alike, and tonight it truly was: booths packed with couples both old and new, laughter and the smell of food wafting through the warm air as friends and families celebrated the start of summer. The jukebox was on and playing an old disco song you liked but didn’t know the name of, the checkered floor tiles clicking with the sounds of brisk waitresses’ heels and dancing feet.
You didn’t know why Felix had insisted on coming here, of all places, what with the mixed emotions and memories you had tied to it, but you had to admit that the jovial atmosphere of Mia’s Diner on a Friday night never really disappointed. You found yourself relaxing slightly—just slightly, bobbing your head lightly to the music.
“Mia’s Diner?” You repeated incredulously. “Seriously, Felix, do you only know one date location? For the so-called ‘Matchmaker of Miroh Heights’, you’re sure lacking in the variety department.”
“Easy, tiger. Just trust me on this one, okay? You’re gonna owe me one.”
“I’m not—” you began indignantly, but Felix continued.
“Plus, the poor guy in question hasn’t been on a date in years, either. You both need this.”
“Years? Are you setting me up with a hermit?”
“Oh, yeah. A big-time loser, seriously— but don’t tell him I said that. Just — indulge him a bit, okay, y/n? I promise you won’t regret it.”
And so, for the second time, Felix’s schemes and pleading puppy eyes had gotten you here—sitting at an empty booth, waiting for a blind date. He hadn’t even bothered to show you a picture of the man in question. You couldn’t help the smile from slowly slipping from your face as each minute passed, and you nibbled your lip anxiously.
Your date was thirty minutes late.
You peered out the window, at the lights of the town glowing a faint neon  against the clear evening skies. Each time a car filled in a parking space, you sat up, craning your neck to see if it was him—before slumping back down in disappointment. Five years, you thought to yourself glumly. Five years, and you still had no luck with dates. Maybe you just had no luck with love, you thought dryly. You imagined Felix laughing later when you told him about it and sighed, a twinge of worry replacing the dread in your gut.
Had something gone wrong?
After turning the waitress away for the eighth time, you fished out your phone from your pocket, tapping on the foreign number Felix had given you. Zero new messages, zero missed calls. At least I can tell Felix I tried, you thought glumly. Maybe I should just call Jeongin again, and ask him to pick me up. And then you could drop by Glow Cafe for a bit, before trudging back to your apartment like a fallen soldier.
Just as you were punching in Jeongin’s name, feeling a sense of guilty relief wash over you, you vaguely registered the diner door swinging open beneath the lively music, and a pair of footsteps trying to shuffle past the dancing couples.
For a split second, you thought you saw a pair of tattered black Converse—laces untied, soles worn—but the mirage disappeared, and was replaced by a pair of dress shoes that eventually came to a stop at your booth. You sighed, fighting back the tears that had suddenly threatened to well in your eyes. Shit. This is not the time to be thinking about him. Why were you still thinking about him? And why on earth had you agreed to this?
You lifted your gaze, trying to muster up a smile, hoping your disappointment didn’t show on your face—
And immediately froze.
“Hello.”
Standing before you, looking almost like an apparition — a golden silhouette against the backdrop of the dim diner — was Han Jisung.
You had to blink several times to realise you weren’t hallucinating again. He looked...different, and yet in some ways, he looked entirely the same: his hair was shorter, but tousled as it had always been, cheeks flushed and breathless as if—as if he’d been running through a storm.
You felt your body moving before any intelligible thoughts could form in your head, pulling you forwards like a magnet until you were standing face-to-face, your shaky eyes darting across his features, not daring to believe what you were seeing.
All of a sudden, the glint in Hyunjin and Jeongin’s eyes made sense, Felix’s words replaying in your head as overwhelmed tears began welling in your eyes without warning.
“The poor guy in question hasn’t been on a date in years, either.”
“A big-time loser, seriously — but don’t tell him I said that. Just — indulge him a bit, okay, y/n? I promise you won’t regret it.”
“Y-you—are such a dork,” you stammered out, one hand weakly hitting Jisung’s chest as you felt the tears finally spill down your face. “Han Jisung, you are such a d—”
Your words were cut off when Jisung pulled you into his arms, his head falling to rest in the crook of your neck. Your shoulders shook with muffled sobs as you buried your face in his chest, memorising everything about this feeling, not wanting to take a single second for granted, memorising everything about him. Jisung no longer carried with him that scent of gasoline and fire — instead, he smelled faintly of lemongrass, and a hint of warm, fresh laundry.
“I missed you,” you finally whispered hoarsely, “I just—missed you, so much.”
He chuckled in your ear, the low, familiar hum stirring faint, faraway memories in your head, and you gripped onto his shirt harder, as if he would disappear completely if you didn’t hold on tight enough.
Jisung had found you in the crowded diner before you had seen him — just like the first time he had met you. And just like the first time, he had felt his breath hitch in his throat, hands hesitating on the door, wondering if he should turn back instead. He had watched you bob your head gently to the music, a small, tentative smile on your face.
You looked good — no, amazing. Different, and yet entirely the same. Kind, worried eyes catching him completely off guard, like the flash of a camera.
Just as bright.
Just as brilliant.
The truth was, there hadn’t been a single day where he hadn’t thought of you — of your voice, your touch, your laugh. Jisung had asked Felix for help the moment he had gotten released, but what he hadn’t forseen was your reaction.
“She won’t go on a blind date, mate,” Felix had informed him exasperatedly, “Took weeks of convincing. Good news, though — she finally caved. You sneaky, hopeless romantic bastard.”
She might have forgotten me, Jisung had thought. And even if you hadn’t, you might not even welcome the sight of him—after all, he hadn’t been in touch since he had left, all those years ago. But in the end, the inexplicable pull in his chest had grown unbearable, and he found himself walking towards you, wading through the crowd, feeling the ache in his heart softening with each step he took. All the way back to you.
You pulled away slowly, vision blurry as Jisung lifted a hand to cup your face, never taking eyes off yours. He had grown in the time you had been apart—he was taller, his once-lean frame stronger—and, most of all, there was a light in his eyes that hadn’t been there before.
“Hey, pretty girl,” he murmured softly, and you laughed in disbelief, “I think you’re my blind date.”
“How—w-why—”
“I told you I wanted to do this all over again, didn’t I? And I promised that I would try to do it right this time.” Jisung smiled apologetically, wiping your tear stained cheeks with his thumb. “I’m sorry it took so long.”
You shook your head, eyes widening when you saw what he had been carefully clutching in his other hand: a small bouquet of sunflowers, their golden yellow petals as tousled as Jisung’s own blond locks.
“Apparently they symbolise new beginnings,” Jisung said, pulling a stray petal from your hair and chuckling, “Keeping promises. Eternal happiness. That kind of thing.”
“Why didn’t you write?” You whispered, as Jisung tucked the bouquet into your hands.
“I wanted to...to heal. In every sense of the word. I didn’t want to show you, until I...knew I was really better. Believe me, I wanted to.” Jisung’s voice dropped to a whisper, as if he were fighting back tears. “I wanted to, so, so badly.”
You shook your head, mumbling something about how much of a stubborn idiot he was, and Jisung’s laugh made a hesitant smile tug at your lips. As if sensing the lightening atmosphere, the waitress had promptly appeared behind Jisung and meekly cleared her throat, setting down the menu. Jisung turned back to look at you, his grin growing playful.
“I hope you’re hungry?”
The diner seemed to come back to you all at once in a flood of senses, the music and murmur of restaurant goers sending a pleasant hum through your veins as you and Jisung sat down. The night went by in a warm blur, Jisung telling you about his life at the institute, the unlikely friends he had made, the dreams he hadn’t realised he had.
“I’m going to go back to school,” he admitted, one hand rubbing the back of his neck shyly. “I’ll be a bit behind, but...I want to study something I actually like this time.”
You had told him about how you had been working in a child therapy ward ever since you had graduated, about all the children you had met and loved and cared for. As you talked about them, you saw a wistful look in Jisung’s eyes, and a thought crossed your mind. “Have you heard anything from—from Minho?”
He gave a small smile, but shook his head. “Rarely. It hasn’t been long since he was released, but he said he was planning on going abroad. Doing some travelling. I think...he’ll reach out when he’s ready.” He then added, as an afterthought, “And if he doesn’t, I wouldn’t blame him.”
The sad simplicity of Jisung’s words stirred a strange feeling you couldn’t quite place in your chest, and your mind flashed back to the cold-eyed coroner and his stiff smiles; then, to the raw pain that had cracked through his strained features the last time you had caught a glimpse of him. Maybe you would meet again one day, or maybe that truly would be the last you ever heard of him.
Healing of the mind, you knew, was a strange process—one that always took much longer than you would expect. There were always scars that reopened along the way, old hidden wounds that surfaced right when you least expected them. There would always be answers you might never find, you mused sadly, closure you might never get.
But sometimes, you thought as you listened to Jisung talk, memorizing the feeling of his fingers interlaced with yours, sometimes we can only hope to hold onto what we already have.
The end of the night drew closer, and when Jisung and you had stepped outside the diner, the city was swimming in the dark ochre of the setting sun. Eventually, the two of you ended up back in the wide garden behind the hospital, your laughs and giddy conversation slowly hushing into softer murmurs. In the distance, the rush of cars on the main road grew sparser, the windows of the buildings around you flickering to life one by one like young stars. Here, though, as you rested your head on Jisung’s shoulder beneath a willow tree, the world seemed to stand still, and all was quiet.
You heard Jisung yelp suddenly and looked down to see a familiar dog pattering around your feet—a stray, with scraggly fur like an overgrown teddy bear that had been through the wash one too many times. It immediately pounced onto Jisung, beginning to lick your boyfriend’s face like no tomorrow.
“Oof! Hey there, old buddy.”
You laughed, scooping the dog off—only after it had gotten a few slobbery licks in—and shivered slightly as a cool night wind swept past you. Noticing, Jisung shrugged off his jacket, draping it over your shoulders as you raised a teasing eyebrow at the cliche move.
“It looks good on you,” Jisung insisted, and you laughed incredulously.
“Your jacket?” You asked, ruffling the dog’s ears as it curled up at your feet.
At that, Jisung looked back up at you—seeing the faint outline of your smile in the dark, your eyes sparkling as you looked back at him expectantly, obliviously—and in that moment, Jisung wondered what he had ever done to deserve someone as perfect as you.
After a beat, he replied, “Happiness. Happy looks good on you, love.”
Your mouth parted in surprise—both at his words, and at the unexpected name—and Jisung took the chance to lean in and kiss you, pressing his soft lips to yours. Gently, at first — carefully, but as you began to kiss him back, you felt Jisung slowly relax. You kissed him the way you had wanted to for so long, feeling the years of distance, of heartache, of endless waiting finally unravel beneath your lips. His hands reached up to gingerly cup your face, pulling you closer into him as if he never intended to let go.
Happy looks good on you, too, Han Jisung, you wanted to say once you pulled away, forehead still lightly pressed to his. And you deserve it, more than anything. You watched Jisung’s features come back into focus beneath the dim moonlight. His gaze was fixed on yours, filled with nothing but pure adoration, and you felt a sudden surge of warmth coursing through your chest.
I love you, you wanted to tell him, more than you could ever know — but something in the warm yet playful look in Jisung’s eyes told you that he was already thinking the exact same thing.
So you just smiled, and leaned in to kiss him again.

Destiel AU - toddler!jack, mechanic!dean
“Good morning, sir!”
Dean looked up from his newspaper straight at the kid with a teddy bear. He had no idea where it came from. He was just sipping his coffee and reading the news, when some stranger toddler appeared on the seat in front of him.
“Umm, mornin'?” he greeted him, still confused.
“I have a birthday today,” said kid and grinned. Dean looked around, but nobody seemed to bother with his situation.
“Congratulations, but you shouldn't be alone here. Where's your mom?”
“In Heaven. She's watching over me, like an angel,” kid explained, and after that kicked him accidentally under the table. Dean dusted his knee off.
“And what about your dad?”
“There!” he pointed to the counter, where was standing a dark hair man in the trench coat. “He's buying birthday's milkshakes. Strawberry!”
“Yeah?” Dean relaxed a little bit, good that kid wasn't alone here. “And how old are you?”
“Four! It's more than three,” he said cheerfully. “Look, I have The Marvelous Marvin. He can talk!”
Kid showed him a teddy bear and pressed his belly. A plushie toy said: 'Hello!', his father turned around immediately and came quickly to Dean's table. He picked the kid up and spoke to him:
“Jack, I told you, don't harass people.” And then to Dean: “My apologies.”
“Nothing happened... He's a great kiddo.”
The man tried to smile, but he was too much embarrassed, so it lookes more like a grimace. Jack, on the other hand, seemed not to care about anything, playing with his teddy bear.
Dean pulled something out from his pocket and asked: “Hey, Jack, do you like stickers?”
“Yeah!”
“So, I have something for you. Happy birthday, buddy!”
It was a commercial sticker with a big text "Singer Auto Repair Shop", but there was also a picture of Chevy Impala which was what Jack noticed first.
“A car!” exclaimed Jack, putting a sticker on his teddy bear at once.
“Jack, what do you say?” reminded him his father.
“Thank you, sir!”
“You're welcome!”
The man put Jack on the seat at the next table and went back to Dean.
“I'm sorry once again, he's a little too much excited,” he excused for his son.
“Sure, nothing happened.” Dean shrugged. “I'm Dean, by the way.”
“Castiel.” They shook their hands, and Dean smiled at him.
“It's nice to meet you.”
“You too.” Cas smiled back. “I'm not gonna take more of your time. Have a nice day.”
Cas sat across of his son. The waitress had brought their milkshakes already. The kid started drinking, but a few seconds later he was talking again.
“Dad, can I try yours?”
Dean heared a chuckle, he looked at Cas and caught how he was rolling his eyes.
“They're the same, Jack.”
“Please... I have a birthday,” begged the kid with a sweet voice.
“All right.” Cas gasped, but changed their milkshakes.
“Yours is better,” admitted Jack, and Cas laughed once again.
Dean finished his coffee and walked away a few minutes later, one more time looking at them. The family picture, a lovely and cute view...
*
Cas knew shit about cars, but he was certainly sure his truck shouldn't make so weird noises.
“Crap,” he murmured. Did he say it loud? Crap! He turned to the back seats where Jack was sitting in the child chair. “You didn't hear anything, Jack.”
“That's not true! You said: crap!” said excited Jack. “Crap, crap! Crap, crap!”
Great! Now his kid expanded his vocabulary.
“I think grocery needs to wait. Somebody needs to check our car.”
“Maybe Marvin? He's a mechanic. He has a badge.” Jack pointed at the sticker on his teddy bear.
“Oh, honeybee, I think we need the other specialist, but thank Marvin for his service.”
Cas pulled out the phone to find some Auto Repair Shop on the internet when he realized that actually Marvin could help. He gave a quick look at the sticker and read an address.
*
“I have no idea how to fix a car. Sometimes I even forget to refuel it,” explained Cas to the old man with a baseball cap. He had found out earlier it’s Bobby Singer, owner of this Auto Shop. For a moment, he felt disappointment because deeply in his heart he had hoped he was going to see Dean from the milk bar again.
“I’ll call my best mechanic. We can handle it,” Bobby assured him, and after that he turned around and yelled: “Dean, we have a client, can you come here?”
Dean got out from under one of the cars. He was wearing work clothes, and his face was dirty from grease, but Cas recognized him at once. Jack, who was standing next to him, was too busy with his teddy bear to notice him.
“Oh, Cas. Hi,” said Dean, frowning with confusion. Probably he didn’t expect to see him again.
“Hello, Dean.”
“And how are you, Jack?” he asked a toddler.
“Good! Marvin took us here!”
“Yeah, so let’s see what’s wrong with a car.”
Dean opened the hood and checked the car. It didn’t take him a lot of time before he found cause of trouble.
“It's the engine...” explained Dean.
“Crap!” said Jack, and Dean looked at him surprised.
“Whoa, isn't it a big word for so little guy?”
“I'm big now! And dad taught me that!”
Cas’ cheeks turned red at once, and he mumbled: “No, I... I didn't.”
“You did, daddy. Don't you remember? Truck was broken.”
Dean chuckled, but he was not going to torture him any longer.
“Okay, I need at least half an hour. You can wait there if you want.” He pointed to a bench near a big tree.
“All right, thank you.”
Dean started working, but his eyes were heading to Cas and Jack all the time. He saw how they were talking and playing with a teddy bear, laughing all the time. They looked so happy, and Dean found himself jealous of what they had.
When he finished, he called them and Bobby. Cas paid for the repair and thanked him for help. They didn't go at once, so Dean used an opportunity to talk with him a little longer.
“He's similar to you, like Mini-Cas,” said Dean, and Cas smiled with proud.
“Actually, he's not my biological son... His mother was my very good friend, but she died in childbirth, so I took care of him,” he explained.
“What about his biological father?”
“It's my brother, but I don't know where he is. He ran away when he found out Kelly was pregnant.”
“This one,” started Bobby and patted Dean on the arm. “I kinda adopted him and his brother. And they're good men. I think I did no bad job raising them.”
“Yeah, you were always a better father to me than John.”
Bobby squeezed Dean’s shoulder, and walked away to talk with Jack. Cas looked at his son with love in his eyes.
“It must be hard, huh? Be a lonely father with a toddler?”
“Sometimes. But I've never regretted this. He's my whole life.”
After a long minute of silence, Dean decided to go one step further. He scratched a back of his neck and cleared the throat.
“Listen, Cas, I'll give you my private number...” he started, but then added quickly: “You know if something would be wrong with a car, just call me.”
Shit! It wasn't supposed to look like this... He chickened out.
“Umm, thank you,” said Cas, putting the card with his number in his coat's pocket. “Dean, one more.”
“Yeah?”
“Would it be okay if I call you on another matter?”
“Which means?”
“If I want to, for example, invite you for a milkshake?”
Dean's face brightened with a smile. So, it wasn't like he was the only one who was interested.
“Yeah... it would be okay, Cas.”
“So, I think I'll call you.”
“I will be waiting.”
Cas gave him a huge smile one more time before he went to Jack.
“Jack, we need to come home. Let's go!” He took him on his arms.
“Okay, daddy!” Jack raised his hand and waved with it. “Bye, bye, Dean!”
“See you later, buddy! Oh, and I have another sticker for you,” said Dean.
“It's like a doctor, but without needles.”
“Yeah, I'm a car doctor.”
“Cool!”
They drove away, this time without a noisy engine, and Cas thought it's a very good day.
*
Cas put Jack to bed, read him the bedtime stories and kissed his forehead. He turned the light off, but stayed there a few minutes more, just to look at his sleeping kid.
Yes, like he said before, being a single father wasn't always easy, but he would never change his life. At least not in this area. Because, of course, he would like to find somebody who could love Jack like their own son, and somebody who could love him...
Sometimes, especially in the nights like this, he felt lonely, it wasn't like he has a lot of time to meet new people, not to mention dates. That's why he went to the kitchen to make a call.
“Yeah?” asked Dean, and Cas couldn't help smile, hearing his voice.
“Hello, Dean. It's Cas. I hope I don't call too late.”
Answer came almost immediately.
“No. It's never too late.”

There's A Bomb | Jay Halstead
Request: Jay falling in love with Voight's daughter.
Pairing: Jay Halstead x Voight!Reader
Author's note: Requests are open. (The moment with a bomb was inspired on episode from "The Flash" when Joe saved Cecile.)
Tumblr media
Your dad was always worried about you, especially when you told him that you want to be a cop like him. First he didn't approve your decision, but when he saw you graduating the police academy, he knew that it's your right path. He wanted to keep you safe and close, at least he could do that, so he brought you to Intelligence. You were happy there since day one, it was your dream to watch him catching bad guys.
He partnered you with Erin, because he trusted her the most, like you. She wasn't from Voight's family, but she was like sister to you, she knew everything about you.
But after few years it was her time to go and she moved. You took it hard, just like Jay, who wanted to propose to her. You weren't close with him, but the pain he had was very similar to yours. After she left, Voight partnered you with him and Hailey, the new girl, was now a partner to Kim.
Cases that involved drugs were your favorite. Going undercover, to make a deal, that was your favorite part of the job. You were the best in this and you were happy to do it every time. But when kids are involved... This hits just different. You usually took it very personal, it was just too hard to see them working for those bastards.
"Okay guys, we've got a case involving drugs and a murder of mob boss. I think we all know who that is, Alejandro Cortez. 32 years old, he's chasing by police and FBI for 2 years. He killed his own wife, then mob boss, two murders with a bomb. One pinned to the car, the second one in club. He's hiding since then, we can't reach him." Kevin pinned his photo to the board and gave you files about the case."But, we know that his niece was taken from her family and we all think that he took her, because he wants to take a revenge on his brother for turning him to the police."
"All of this because he's angry? And why the kid?" you asked.
"We don't know yet. She's missing for 4 days and the people who saw the kidnapper described him. Description matches to Alejandro. They're living in Chicago, that means he's here and this might be our last chance to get him." you sat on your desk and started to look into the files.
"Hey, you okay?" Jay asked you. Before nodding to him, you brushed his hand with your fingers and smiled at him. He was always caring about you in cases like this, you were so thankful for him. "Let me know if you need anything."
"Y/N? Can we talk?" your dad asked.
"Sure." you walked into his office and closed doors.
"I'm worried about you. If you want I can take you off the case." he said.
"I'm fine, really. It's just... I don't understand some things, I need to figure them out. Don't worry." you hugged him and went back to your desk.
The tension was thick, everyone were working on the case, while Jay was trying to figure out his feelings. He couldn't talk to anyone about this, because they knew that person, especially he couldn't talk about it with you.
God, he wished that you noticed how much he adored you. He stood up and walked to your desk.
"Y/N? Y/N?" he tapped your shoulder.
"Hmm?" you muttered.
"You kinda zoned out, I brought you some coffee."
"Thanks. Do you want to go with me and check on this woman who saw Alejandro? I don't want to go there alone." you asked.
"Of course, partner."
You drove in silence, Jay was watching you the whole ride. He loved to look at your smile, eyes, when you tried to be serious, but he always made you smile and laugh. He trusted you like no one, he could put his life in your hands, because he knew that you'll help him no matter what.
"Chicago PD." you said and knocked on the doors.
"What do you want?" a woman appeared and looked so scared.
"Sophia? We're from Chicago Police Department, I'm detective Halstead and this is detective Voight. We wanted to ask you few questions."
"There's no need to, I already spoke with police." she answered.
"We know, but we wanted to ask about description you gave us. Are you sure that this was the guy?" you showed her a picture.
"Yes, definitely. Now leave me alone." she said and walked away, then closed the doors.
"I think she won't say us more." you laughed and made your way to the truck.
"Yeah Adam, what's up?" Jay said, answering his phone.
"We've got a possible location where Alejandro can be, go and check this place."
"Alright, let's go." Jay said.
"5021 Frank, detective Y/N Voight, we're heading to a possible location where our suspect can be. Plain clothes officers on the scene, roll a backup and ambo."
"Copied 5021 Frank, sending a backup and ambo."
"Do you think he's gonna be there?" Jay asked you.
"I don't know, I just hope to find his niece sooner than him so I could kick his ass after. I mean, she's a kid... How can he do that?" you answered. Jay looked at you worried. After few minutes you were on the scene.
"Take the back, we're going from the front." you said to officers who were there already.
"I'm coming in." Jay went first, you right after him.
"I'm covering you." you pulled your gun low, until you noticed blood on the carpet. "Blood." you both raised your gun and checked the first floor.
"Stairs." Jay said and again you followed him.
"You heard that?" the sound reminded you a cry.
"Chicago PD! Alejandro, put your gun down and come out!" Jay yelled. "Let your niece go first!"
"Stop! Stop!" you looked at Jay confused.
"Alejandro, if you won't come out we'll come for you" he yelled again.
"Wait, it's not him." you looked at Jay and nodded over the mirror where you saw a little girl tied up, sitting on the chair.
"Please, it's gonna blow!" you hid your gun and walked into the room while Jay was calling for a bomb squad.
"Hey, what's your name?" you asked her.
"Lauren." she cried so hard. You needed to calm her down when you saw a bomb pinned to the chair.
"Okay Lauren, I need you to sit there carefully, don't move, okay? We'll get you out of here."
"He said that he's gonna make them suffer!" she yelled.
"Jay? Call for a backup, send them to her parents." you knew that at this point he wanted to kill all of her family, to make them suffer, especially this little girl. "It's gonna be okay. I'm gonna check on timer right now okay?"
"Mhm." she calmed a little. 6 minutes you saw. You knew what kind of bomb was that. Jay told you his stories when he was in the army, you knew more than he thought.
"Y/N? What are you doing? Let's go, bomb squad will help her!" Jay showed up in the room, watching your actions.
"It will be too late. Hey, Lauren. I need you to switch places with me on 3 okay?" you looked at her, she nodded slowly.
"You've got to be kidding me! You want yourself killed?"
"Jay! Just let me do my job. It has 5 minutes timer now, when she'll stand, it's gonna run down, we won't be able to get out of there and they'll be too late. I'm gonna sit there to stop it from going down fast."
"Y/N, please..." he walked closer and hugged you.
"On 3 Lauren. 1... 2... 3..." you pushed her to Jay and sat on the chair. You looked at the timer. 3 minutes left.
"Take her out, I'll stay on the line." you said.
"5021 George, I'm going out with a hostage. Detective Voight will stay on the line." he felt tears in his eyes. He let go her hand and went outside. Lauren went to the ambo to get checked out.
"Halstead, what the hell? Where's Y/N?" Voight asked him.
"She switched places with Lauren, she's holding out the timer."
"Y/N?" Voight spoke.
"D-dad, I'm fine. Just tell the squad to come here asap."
"They're 6 minutes out."
"Well... We've 2." you said.
"I'm calling them." Jay said. He put them on the line to speak to you.
"Y/N, we need you to say how this looks like."
"Well, it has a timer and 3 colors inside. Black, white and blue."
"Okay, that means he used the same bomb as on the vehicle. You need to stay calm and carefully remove the blue one." they instructed you. Your hands were shaking, eyes were blinded and your heart was pounding so hard.
"Okay, yeah, I'll do it." you took a deep breath and take moved slowly to blue cable. You looked at the timer. It has stopped.
"Y/N? Y/N!" Jay was screaming to his radio, but you couldn't respond. You immediately stood up and went downstairs. Tears blurred your vision. You reached out to the doors and opened them. All the members looked at you relieved. "Shit." he said and run to you.
At this point you were crying. He took you in his arms, softly stroking your hair.
"I can't breathe." you choked.
"Easy honey, easy. It's the adrenaline rush, everything is okay." he hugged you tighter.
You had still covered your face with your hands. They were shaking so bad. Jay tried to calm you down, so he took them from your face and kissed."Come on, I'm taking you home." he held you close and went with you to Hank.
"Oh god Y/N! What were you thinking out there?!" now he was the one holding you.
"I was doing my job, I needed to help her." you said as you felt something hugging you from the side. Lauren held your hand hard and cried.
"Thank you, thank you. I wanna be strong as you! I'll be a cop one day!" she was full of energy, she didn't realise what just happened, she was only 8 years old after all... And that fact was making you sick. That little girl almost died because of payback.
"I'm so glad you're okay baby. Go to see your mom." you pointed at police car, who just arrived.
"Hey, you sure you're fine?" Jay asked you when Hank left to speak with Lauren's mom.
"I just want to go home." he nodded at went with you to his truck.
You held Jay's hand the whole ride to your home.
"Can you go upstairs with me? I need someone right now... Also, I have your favorite beer." you smiled.
"Yeah, I'll take that beer." he answered and followed you to your apartment.
You closed the door and went to the kitchen. Taking a beer, you noticed Jay standing in the hallway, looking at the picture frame with you and him. You put the beer down and walked to him. He turned to face you, when you hungrily kissed his lips. The kiss was so desperate, but at the same time filled with passion and love. He put his hands on your back, bringing you closer. When you couldn't catch a breath, you pulled back.
"I love you. I love you so freaking much. I think about you day and night, if you're okay, if you slept enough. When I pushed Lauren into your way... I knew that I'll always want you to be the one who won't leave my side Jay. I want you to be here. Right here, with me." he pulled you into hug, just like before. It was different than the others time when he was with you. This time, there was a real love between you two.
"Y/N, you don't know how happy I am right now. You saved me so many times, you're my little miracle. I was so afraid to tell you that, but now I wish I could say it earlier. Holding you in my arms is the best thing in the world and I'll always be here for you baby. I love you." he kissed your forehead and took you to the couch. You sat next to him and covered you with blanked.
He couldn't stop thinking about how lucky he was to have you. You were his light.

- Jamie
“Goddammit”, Rita hissed as she hung up the phone and you turned to her in the car, looking at her distressed face.
“What’s wrong?”
“Special Victims just arrested mr. Carter. We need to go down there”, she said and turned to the driver. “Turn around Harry. 16th precinct, Manhattan”
The driver, Harry, turned the car the moment he could and drove towards the precinct.
“What the hell?”, Rita whispered and you were surprised you heard it over the screaming and shouting you were met with as you entered the squad room.
“You’re the reason my daughter’s dead!”, a man yelled, being held back by two officers, Amanda standing next to him.
“I never touched her!”, another man, mr. Carter yelled and both you and Rita noticed the blood running down from his nose. You didn’t know who the other man was and what had happened, but you had a pretty good guess.
“Shut up and take him away”, a man with a beard said and you watched as they took mr. Carter into interrogation.
“Okay why don’t you go and sit in here mr. Blevins”, Liv said and led the other man to a room next to her office.
“Come on”, Rita said and you felt a soft hand in your hip, letting you relax immediately. But just as quickly as it came, it was gone and Rita walked towards the interrogation where mr. Carter sat and you followed her silently.
“You mind telling me why my client is smothered in blood sergeant?”, Rita asked the moment she walked inside, the bearded man standing by the wall.
“Jennifer’s father found out about her suicide and came here and gave the guy a few punches”, he said with a smile on his face and mr. Carter eyed him angrily.
“Please, don’t feel so sad about it”, he joked. Rita rolled her eyes at him and turned to the sergeant. Without a word, the man left and closed the door behind him. You took a deep breath and looked at Rita who sat down in the chair on the other side of the table.
It took a few hours, but in the end, Carter decided to take the deal, statutory rape. Four years, and a $10.000 fine but it was far less than he could’ve had with the murder charge.
You admitted it was not what you had expected when you decided to pursue your career in law. You had imagined taking in buglers and grand theft, maybe some homicide, but sexual abuse and child molestation had never been on your list.
When Sonny had told you about his new job at Special Victims back in the day when he was still a detective, you’ll admit you were intrigued and a little impressed, but that was because he was fighting the bad guys.
You were fighting the good guys and you felt so disgusted with yourself. This was definitely not how you had imagined your time in New York, and definitely not already on your first day.
You stood in the hallway, waiting for Rita to finish up the paperwork and you looked at the photos hanging on the wall. Former captains and sergeants from way back in the days. You noticed one in particular.
Sergeant Mike Dodds 1978-2016
You remembered back to when Sonny told you about what happened to the guy. A DB call that got out of hand.
“You alright?”
You almost jumped on the spot, completely forgotten where you were. You turned and met Sonny’s eyes, his brows furrowed in worry.
“Yeah I’m just… God I couldn’t imagine losing a kid like that”
Sonny could see the tear fall down your cheek and walked closer to you, bringing his arm around your body. “Ya need to go home?”
You immediately shook your head, removing the tear with your hand and looked down at all the files you held for Rita. “I can’t. I need to stay and help Rita”
Sonny nodded and watched you dry your eyes just in time to hear the heels walking closer. “De Luca, you ready?”, Rita asked and you nodded giving her a tight smile. Sonny eyed you for a moment, making sure you would be fine before turning to the defense attorney.
“Yeah miss Calhoun”
“Good. Let’s go to my office. We have a few things to discuss”
You nodded and turned to Sonny who leaned in and kissed your forehead. It reminded you of the days where you would visit him with your mom. “See ya Sunday”
You let out a small chuckle and hugged him tight. “See you Sunday”
Sonny smiled and watched as you took the elevator with Rita. Rita noticed your interaction and once the doors closed, she took the opportunity to let her curiosity get the best of her.
“You’re quite familiar with mr. Carisi”, she said and you turned to her, not expecting the remark.
“What?”
“You and mr. Carisi. You’re pretty close”, she said again.
“Oh. Yeah, he’s my brother”
That was not what Rita had expected. You did not look alike at all, the age difference was significant and you certainly didn’t sound like him either.
“Yeah. I get that face a lot”, you said noticing how surprised she was. “Same mom, different dads”
“I see your mother has a weakness for Italian men”, she commented and you couldn’t stop yourself from chuckling.
“Yeah… yeah I guess she does”
The rest of the way to her office was silent and you somehow found yourself enjoying the silence with her. Most people you met had this awkward silence aroma around them and you cringed every time you had to be alone with them, but with Rita it was different.
She made everything so comfortable and calm. It had been a long time since you met someone who had that aroma, and it was nice for a change.
Once in the office, Rita around her desk, instantly looking down in the files you had placed on the desk. “Alright, first case over. You’ve done good. You obviously know what you’re doing and talking about. And somehow despite all of the things we’ve seen, you seem to enjoy it. I’m impressed”
“Thank you. I do enjoy it yeah”, you said softly and she smiled at you.
“I’m glad to hear that. Not every person would”
“Yeah, I guess I’m just different”, you said and Rita nodded.
“You definitely are”
You gave her a smile and she sat down in her seat, motioning for you to do the same in the chair in front of the desk, which you immediately did.
“If you want to continue being my assistant, I need to make sure you’re capable of actually following rules”
You frowned at her for a moment, not sure if she was joking or not. “I will not se slouching, laughing in inappropriate situations, your clothing must be nicely dressed at all times you’re with me, skirt or pants, your choice”
You listened carefully to all of her rules, and hell there were many. “If you can’t remember them all, it’s in the contract”
You nodded and Rita looked at you. You felt your heart pound. “Now that, that is over, tell me about yourself”, she said leaning back in the chair.
“Well I was born in Boston, lived and grew up alone with my ma”
“You didn’t live with mr. Carisi?”
“God no. Sonny was nineteen when I was born. He had already moved out by the time my ma found out she was pregnant with me”, you explained and Rita nodded taking the information in.
“And your interest in law, when did that start?”
“When I was in 6th grade. Sonny told me about the day he started at the precinct as a detective. He was so proud”, you said remembering how amazed you were by his description of the job.
“6th grade? When did he start?”
“2014 if I remember correctly”, you said and Rita frowned.
“You’ve must’ve skipped a few classes then, if I’m not mistaken”, she said pulling out a file from her drawer and you instantly recognized it as your file.
“I did yeah. I basically skipped entire middle school, starting in high school right after elementary”
Rita raised her eyebrows in surprise and you smiled in pride. “Really? I could imagine the high school students when they saw a 13 year old starting”
“12 actually”, you corrected her softly and she chuckled.
“Wow you are one of a kind aren’t you?”
“I don’t know, I guess so”
Rita smirked and looked down at your file once again. You sat in silence for a few minutes, her reading your file like it was her favorite book and you could swore you saw her smile.
“A GPA scale of 4.0 with 99 percent. That’s impressive”, she commented. You gave a tight smile and a nod and Rita noticed how your attitude immediately changed. “You’re not satisfied?”
“I’m satisfied, I just…”, you didn’t know how to explain it without sounding like a spoiled brat.
“It’s okay darling, tell me”
Something in her voice made you feel you could tell her anything and everything and not a single sound of judgement would come your way.
“I wanted to beat the highest GPA Harvard had ever had. But I only got 99. Someone got 100 and they wouldn’t give me a name”
You heard a small chuckle and looked up meeting Rita’s eyes. Without a word she reached in the drawer before standing from her seat. You frowned at her movement and watched as she walked around the desk and leaned against it right in front of you.
She gave you the file and you hesitantly opened it. Once it was fully open, you looked down and read Rita’s name on the top. You read further down and suddenly a gasp escaped your lips, looking up at her.
“You?”
Rita gave a nod with a smirk forming on her face and you smiled looking back down in the file. It was nothing but A+ after A+ all the way down the paper, in every subject.
“This is impressive”, you whispered and she chuckled sitting down in the other chair next to you.
“What subject didn’t you get A+?”
You froze, not sure if you wanted to answer that and Rita noticed. “If you don’t want to answer, you don’t–“
“Economics. Hated it with all my gut”, you said. Rita actually laughed at that and that strange pounding of your heart began again, making you realize what was happening.
You were falling for her.
As soon as you opened the door to your apartment, you heard footsteps running towards you and a smile crossed your face.
“Hi Gio”, you whispered and greeted him with a hug. The dog licked your face, but sensed your sadness and cuddled up against you.
“You’re home late”, a voice said and you looked up and met Sonny’s eyes. You sighed and stood from the floor, immediately bringing your arms around him in a tight hug and the man felt himself worry. “Everything alright?”
You nodded but didn’t say anything and despite still feeling the worry, he nodded and let it be for now. “I made ya some dinner, it’s in the fridge”, he said pulling back and you gave him a soft smile with a nod.
“Thanks D”
Sonny was about to say something else when his phone rang. He picked it up and you already knew who it was. It was quickly over and he turned to you as soon as he hung up. “I gotta go. Are you okay? You need anything?”
You shook your head and hugged him one last time. “It’s fine. Go”
He nodded and kissed your forehead before leaving the apartment. You let out deep sigh and went to the couch, sitting down. Gio immediately got on top on you and you chuckled softly, stroking his hair.
“Is it nice boy, hhmm?”
He let out a small bark and you chuckled. That certainly would not change anytime soon. Your mind wandered back to the last two days and you groaned as you kept coming back to Rita.
God why was it so difficult?! She was just a woman. Nothing else. Why were your heart pounding every time she smiled, laughed or even just spoke? Why did you blush every time she looked at you?
You groaned out in frustration and Gio noticed it immediately making you chuckle. “I’m fine boy. Don’t worry”
He nudged his head closer to your chin and you smiled, kissing his head.
The rest of the week went by fast, rapist after rapist coming into Rita’s office and asking her to represent them. Some of them were actually decent human beings, just being misunderstood, but most of them were generally just a disgusting pig.
Rita hadn’t exactly gone any less gorgeous and that frustrated you. Immensely. She was your boss! You couldn’t go around and have a crush on your boss. It’s just not how things work.
Nothing good came out of it. Especially with your age as well. Sure you may be mature for your age but she might not see that. All she probably sees is an 18 year old girl who skipped middle school.
Wednesday was a quick day, a man walking in with an accusation of raping his own wife. Rita had told you how many wives accused their husbands of raping them, when they threaten to leave them and wouldn’t leave a penny to survive.
This man was one of this victims and it was quickly discovered by the end of the day. That night you and Rita sat in the offices, a cup of coffee in each your hand.
She told you about her time at Harvard, how she had taken the boys and the parties. It was then she revealed she played on both sides which had made you blush furiously.
“What? Weren’t expecting that answer?”, she had asked with a smug on her face and she had touched your arm lightly, caressing it. Whether it was intentional or not, you did not know.
And when you had told, you were only into girls, you could have sworn you saw her pupils dilate.
Thursday, you needed to find a way to save a man on death penalty. He had captured and held women prisoners for more than three decades, raping and torturing them.
“This is the most disgusting thing ever”, you had said and Rita couldn’t help but agree. Normally you weren’t soft for those kind of things, taking it all like a champ.
But when the videos of the torture of the women were discovered and given to both the prosecution and defense, it was then you broke.
Rita had given you the task of looking the videos over and see if you could find anything useful. The first couple of videos were of him torturing the woman with plastic bags over their head, strangling them over and over again.
One of them he raped one of the women while she was screaming and shouting at him to stop, him slapping her so hard she passed out. The video never showed her waking up again.
But the hardest one was a woman sitting in a bathtub, several electric wires going from massive energy boxes and around her body and in the tub. The woman was sitting in the tub, screaming and shouting in pain as the wires shocked her over and over again.
The screams were the most terrifying thing you’ve ever heard. Rita had stopped you the moment she watched you cry in front of the computer screen.
“Y/n” She shut down the computer and sat down next to you, immediately pulling you into a hug, holding you tight. You may be mature for your age and braver than most, but you were still 18.
“It’s okay darling. It’s okay”
You cried harder into her shoulder, letting her hold you. It had taken you good ten minutes to calm down and once you were relaxed, you fell asleep against her, feeling save in her arms.
That night Rita gave you dinner and drove you home. Making sure twice that you were okay before leaving you alone.
You didn’t sleep that night, the screams filling your mind.
You were absolutely drained when Friday rolled in and you were going out with your friends to a bar. It had been weeks since you last drank, and you couldn’t need it more. Not since the videos yesterday.
“Who’s got you smiling like that?”, Rita asked as you sat in her office going over some paper work for the upcoming trial. She noticed you had pulled out your phone as it vibrated. She was glad to see you smile again after yesterday’s horror and she found herself liking the smile.
“Oh it’s my best friend, Jasmin. We’re going to a friend, who’s having a party”, you explained and Rita smiled.
“Well be careful out there. Wouldn’t want to lose my best assistant before her first week is over”
You chuckled and shook your head. “Don’t worry, I will”
Truth be told, you were very excited to get out of the world of law and drink your ass off. Though you knew you weren’t old enough to drink, you still did it anyway.
“How are you feeling? After yesterday?”, Rita suddenly asked, placing her hand on top of yours on the desk and you sighed looking down.
“I’m… fine. I’m fine, really”
Rita nodded and watched you for a moment, looking down at your hands on the desk. You felt your heart pound at the touch while Rita felt herself becoming more and more confused. Why were these feelings suddenly coming up? And of all people, why would the feelings come up around you?
That night when Jasmin arrived at your apartment, you both got ready before heading to the party together.
You took a taxi and once there you immediately knew where the party was. The house was full of people, the front yard already filled with people. Some younger, some older.
“This is amazing!”, Jasmin said, a huge smile on her face and you chuckled. “Let’s try and find Brent”, she said and you recognized the name as the boy who held the party.
You walked inside and the house was as huge inside as well as outside. “Hey girls! Glad you could make it!”, a voice said and you both turned to see Brent coming towards you.
He hugged you both, before walking over to a table, taking two drinks. “Here you go, party up!”
You took the glasses but quickly stopped Jasmin before she could take a sip. “What?”
“We don’t know where those drinks have been. Anyone could have touched them or put something in it. We will make our own drinks”, you said and threw them in the dish.
“I got booze”, you said and pulled out a vodka bottle and two RedBulls.
“Damn girls you’re ready”, Jasmin chuckled and you started the party.
Sonny walked into the precinct, his bag in his hand and greeted Kat and Amanda by their desks. “Hey, what did the judge say?”, Amanda asked as she stood from her seat and Carisi leaned down, kissing her softly, her hand lightly covering his cheek.
Kat smiled at the kiss, happy to see her friends finally together. “Luckily he denied the bail. Jackson isn’t getting out anytime soon”, he said and the two defectives let out breaths of relief.
“What about–“
“Alright I want all hands on deck!”, Liv suddenly said as she and Fin came out of the office.
“Cap what’s going on?”, Rollins asked and Liv turned to her.
“Just got a call about a rape at a party down at the suburbs. Fin and Rollins you go with, Kat stay here in case anyone comes in”
“Yes Captain”
You drank more than you probably should’ve. But you enjoyed it. You and Jasmin drank more and more as time went by.
You stood at one of the bars in the backyard with a drink in your hand. You didn’t know where Jasmin was, but right now you didn’t care. Right now you were looking at some of the girls playing in pool.
“Wow that looks nice!”, a boy came up and said and you found yourself nodding. “And the look right here, doesn’t look too bad either. I’m Daniel”, he then said, flirtation in his voice. You rolled your eyes placing your drink on the bar before turning to him.
“You’re cute, but not my type”, you said and Daniel stood tall, looking down at you. It was obvious he was drunk. Very drunk.
“At what’s the matter huh? I’m not man enough for you?”
You chuckled shaking your head. “Oh no that’s exactly the opposite. You’re too man”
You went back to your drink and downed it before leaving the bar and boy behind, Daniel smirking as he watched you leave.
He turned his head and met his mate’s eyes who nodded and the followed you to the bathroom.
The moment you reached the hallway, you felt your head turn a thousand times. You’re vision started to blur, and you felt yourself almost falling asleep immediately.
“Wow are you okay?”, a voice asked and you felt an arm around you, another from the other side. “Let’s get you to a room”, they said and you felt yourself lose control of your body.
You ended in a room and they placed you on the bed, closing the door. “Hehe let’s go. Alright you go first”, Daniel’s friend said and Daniel laughed and opened his pants.
Suddenly the door bursted open and Jasmin walked in. “What the hell is happening here?!”
She was pissed. Absolutely pissed. Here her best friend laid, obviously drugged and completely out of it. “Wow take it easy girl, we were just having fun”, Daniel said and Jasmin looked at the boy.
“You call this having fun?! Raping an unconscious girl?! Get out before I call the police!”, she yelled and people began to come to the room, hearing the screaming.
“What’s going on?”, Brent came and asked and Jasmin turned to him.
“Some of your friends were about to rape my best friend. What a party!”, she yelled and Brent frowned and turned to his friends who stared back at him.
“We were just having fun”, Daniel’s friend said and Brent hardened his eyes.
But before he could say anything. Sirens were heard and they looked at each other. “The cops are here?”, Jasmin asked and Brent turned to Daniel and his friend.
“You two stay here”, he said and left the room. Jasmin walked over to you, turning you onto your back and looked at your face.
“Y/n? Y/n wake up”
She heard the doors open to the house and two women told everyone to get out. Footsteps were heard and a woman stepped in. Jasmin looked at her. Definitely a detective. The moment the detective saw you on the bed, she froze.
“Shit”, she whispered and looked around at the others. “What happened here?!”
“They were about to rape my best friend when I came in!”, Jasmin immediately said and the two boys started defending themselves.
“Alright you two, up against the wall”, she said and walked towards them, before pulling out her walkie talkie. “Liv, we got a situation”, she said into it. “Down the hall”
A few seconds later, Liv stepped in and saw the two boys against the wall. “Rollins wha–“, she stopped as Amanda nodded towards the bed and Liv turned and saw you laying unconscious.
“Oh no”, she said pulling out her walkie talkie.
“Calling central, I need a bus now!”, she called and ran over to the bed, feeling your pulse point. It was there but very faint.
“God please don’t die, Carisi will kill me”, she whispered and called into the walkie talkie. “Fin come to the master bedroom down the hall”
A few seconds Fin came in and saw you on the bed. “Oh fuck”
“I know, I know, let’s just get her out of here”
Fin walked over and took you into his arms. “Oh man Carisi is gonna kill her”
Jasmin watched as they carried you out and Liv walked over and cuffed Daniel’s friend, walking them out.

Chapter 8: Sinking Friendships
Words: 5.6K
Sirens, flashing lights and screams were the only thing Henry remembered. It all happened so fast. One minute Henry and Rosie were laughing together getting lost in each other’s eyes and the next they were both unconscious awaiting their death.
There was no time for Henry to react in anyway. No swerves or movements were made to prevent the impact. A maroon truck had collided Roise’s side, jolting her entire body. Her door was dented beyond belief.
From the forceful impact caused their car skid on the pavement, wearing the paint job away, and crash into the street pole. Henry’s entire body screamed out in pain, his injuries weren’t as bad as Rosie’s though.
“Rosie? Rosie! Rosie!!” Henry called out, desperately wanting to hear her lovely voice. Panic and heartbreak ensued when he saw blood dripping down the side of her head.
Rosie wasn’t moving. How could she be full of life one minute and the next, not? Henry reached over and placed two fingers below her jaw searching for a pulse. He felt he was able to breathe once her felt her few and far between heartbeats, it was faint but it was still there.
“Darling, wake up. Rosie, wake up! Open your eyes for me.”
Henry could feel himself fading by the moment. He used his last breaths to tell the girl he loved he was sorry. Her life was hanging by a thread and in that moment Henry was utterly useless. Praying that she would wake and he would get to hold her again, as everything faded to black.
It had to be about 15 minutes. 15 minutes for an ambulance to arrive. 15 minutes that Henry and Rosie had been unconscious for. 15 minutes of complete stillness, as everyone outside the vehicle panicked. The witness had called 911 multiple times and the other driver was unconscious at his wheel.
After those brutal and possible life ending minutes, help finally arrived. They pulled Henry from the wreck, putting him on a gurney.
“Sir, can you hear me?” called out the paramedic. “Yes. My girlfriend, help her please,” Henry was pleading for his life. How could he be so careless, it was only an accident? “Sir, just lay back. Let us take care of you,” the paramedic uttered, putting her hand on his shoulder to hold him down.
“No. I need to make sure she is okay.”
“Sir, you need to restrain yourself. The other paramedics have got her.”
“ROSIE! Just please let me know if she is okay,” screamed Henry.
“Sedate him please. I’ll go check on the girl,” said the paramedic. Henry faded into a deep sleep a moment later.
“Hey, how’s the girl? Her boyfriend won’t stop asking,” asked the paramedic to the one attending to Rosie. “Unresponsive. She has head trauma and a pulse, thank god,” he murmured. Henry was sent along with Rosie to Kingston Memorial hospital. The hospital was 20 mins away, so much can happen in that time.
Everyone else was sleeping soundly within the walls of the Holland Manor. It started to become a common theme that phone calls in the middle of the night usually meant someone was hurt. This time it was Harrison calling.
“Haz? It’s so late why are you calling?” You asked, jolting awake.
“There’s been an accident and Tom didn’t answer when I called. It’s Rosie and Henry. It sounded bad, Y/N.”
“Oh my god. I’ll see you there,” you responded, barely forming the words as tears started to fall.
“TOM WAKE UP!” you screamed, shaking him awake.
“What?… I’m up. I’m up.”
“There’s been accident.” No more words were said, they just hopped in the car and drove as fast as possible. Tom knuckles grew white clutching around the steering wheel. He couldn’t even begin to fathom a world with his Rosie in it. Harrison was already there, pacing in the waiting room.
“Haz. Where is she?” you said, tears begging to fall.
“I don’t know they won’t tell me anything because I’m not family,” Harrison answered.
“Fuck that, you are our family. How’s Henry?” Tom exclaimed.
“He’s ok. Just a minor concussion and dislocated shoulder, he’s in there right now. They are putting his shoulder back in its socket. He was really lucky but, I am worried about Rosie.” Haz said, just as a doctor dressed in surgical scrubs approached them.
“Are you here for Rosie Holland?” asked the doctor, Tom just nodded in response.
“Mr. and Mrs. Holland, I presume,” continued the doctor
“Yes, that’s us,” Tom replied, clasping your hand in his. He tried to put on a brave face for his wife. You couldn’t both be a mess.
“Ok, Rosie is still in surgery. With extensive injuries like hers we like to keep the family updated as much as possible. Your daughter was the nearest point of impact. She came in with a puncture wound to the abdomen, a severe concussion, massive internal bleeding, many cuts caused by broken glass and severe trauma to her head.”
“Will she be okay?” you asked, accidentally interrupting the doctor.
“Let him finish darling,” Tom said, his grip on her hand tightening.
“It is still too early to know. I have to get back.”
“Alright Doctor, thank you,” Tom acknowledged. You just fell into Tom’s arms, letting all the tears you were holding back fall. You broke into a fit of sobs in his embrace.
“Tom, I don’t want to lose her. I can’t lose her. She’s our baby,” you whimpered, your tears staining his t-shirt
“Shh, darling. She’ll pull through. Remember she is just like her strong mother.”Tom whispered, rubbing a soothing hand over your back.
“Have you gotten in touch with Parker?” Asked Tom as he continued to comfort you.
“No, I’ve been trying. Leaving message after message… Why fuck isn’t he picking up?” yelled Haz. Just then, Henry had walked up, sporting a cloth sling His heart nearly broke as he saw you crying your eyes out buried in Tom’s arms.
“No. No, no, no. Don’t tell me she didn’t make it.” Henry cried as his knees started to buckle at the thought of losing Rosie.
“Henry no, she’s still in surgery. Hey, come here.” Harrison said trying to calm down his son.
“Henry, what the happened?” Tom asked, scared for his daughters life.
“What were you doing with Rosie anyway? It’s late.” Tom questioned again after Henry stood silent, growing louder.
“Hey, Tom. Back off,” Harrison said, standing in front of Tom.
“No. I want to know the reason why my daughter is in there fighting for her god damm life.” Tom screamed. Henry was like a deer caught in headlights. He couldn’t lie his way out of this one. His eyes just shifted between Tom, you and his dad.
“A truck hit Rosie’s side when I was driving, I’m sorry, it was an accident.” Henry cried, barely able to get the words out.
“Son, we know it was an accident. It wasn’t your fault,” Harrison said, comforting Henry.
“Where? Where were you guys?” Tom pestered on.
“Umm, we were on our way back from… from a date. We are dating.” Henry muttered, his eyes glued to the floor.
“What? Y/N did you know about this?” Tom asked, ready to throw hands.
“Yes, Tom,” you murmured, avoiding Tom’s disappointed glare.
“Why the fuck didn’t you tell me?” Tom screeched.
“And for you. Who the fuck said you could date my daughter?” Tom bellowed, pointing his finger at the poor boy.
“I did kind of give them permission by keeping their secret. In your own time frame though you were supposed to ask Tom,” you muttered, bouncing between Henry and Tom.
“Wait. For how long? For how fucking long?” Tom cursed.
“2 months.” Henry whispered.
“2 months. 2 fucking months. You were lying to me?” Tom screamed, he was livid at you.
“I don’t want you dating her,” Tom growled with an unchanging expression.
“I’m sorry, sir. What?” Henry asked, dumbfounded by Tom’s response.
“Tom, what?” Haz faltered.
“Tom don’t do this, he is a good kid,” you begged.
“Break up with my daughter or there will be hell to pay,” Tom declared and with that he walked away.
“Tom, you can’t do that to them,” you yelled after Tom.
“Really Y/N watch me” Tom said, ignoring his family. His heart had been broken too many times tonight. First when he heard about the accident, another when he had learned of Rosie’s injuries and another when he found out that you had been lying to him. His mind needed to be on one person right now, Rosie.
Tom managed to cool off, but immediately changed the subject anytime you would start to apologize. He didn’t have the energy to focus or listen, all he cared about was Rosie. Parker had showed up 10 mins later, he was off doing god knows what.
“Where the fuck have you been?” Tom yelled, as he saw Parker come through the sliding doors.
“Sorry. I just got your message. Is she okay?” Parker explained.
“We don’t know she is still in surgery,” you whispered, trying to hold back tears.
“What I went out for a bit and shut my phone off. What’s the big deal?” Parker asked.
“The big deal is that I didn’t know where you were. I couldn’t get in touch you. Rosie was in a car accident and I couldn’t call you,” screamed Tom, still angry from the conversation that just perspired
“And Henry?” Parker question, ignoring Tom’s scolding.
“He’s ok. Haz is with him right now, they went to get some coffee,” you informed him.
“Are you okay, mom?” Parker asked, remembering the conversation they had the night before.
“I’ve been better. Just glad you are here,” you said, bringing him into a warm embrace. As they all stood together as a family, Rosie’s doctor came to update them.
“She is out of surgery and stable. Her heart did stop and we were able to resuscitate her, she’s in the ICU now…”
“Can we see her?” Tom asked, interrupting the doctor. A huge weight had just been lifted off his shoulders, his baby girl was going to be okay.
“Yes, but you need to know something. Her brain started to swell in surgery so we had to put her in a medically induced coma to bring down the swelling. We don’t know when she will wake up or if she will at all,” explained the doctor.
All the Hollands stood like statues, unable to process the news. You felt as though you had been punched in the stomach, you wouldn’t be able to handle losing your baby girl.
Minutes, hours and days had melded together. It had been 6 days since the accident and Rosie was still the same, laying unconscious in a hospital bed hooked up to various machines. All of you stayed at the hospital expect for Harrison and Henry. Harrison was running the mob for Tom, for the time being.
You refused to leave her side, spending every waking and sleeping hour right beside her. Seeing your daughter like this was killing you. You weren’t getting any sleep and your hair started thinning.
Rosie looked pale and lifeless, the only thing guaranteeing she was alive was the incessant heart monitor. Her bruises had started to heal, changing from a vibrant purple to an opaque yellow. Everyone prayed she would wake up.
Henry tried to visit everyday but Tom wouldn’t allow it. He was still furious his daughter was dating him and everyone else knew about it except him. Tom’s heart ached for Rosie to wake up and be his funny, sassy, brave girl once again. Tom, however couldn’t stand how the waiting was making you feel.
“Darling. Wake up!” Tom whispered, gently shaking you.
“What? Did something happen? Is Rosie ok?” You exasperated, jolting out of your sleep and trying to catch your breath.
“No, she’s fine. It has just been a while since you had gone home and cleaned up. It might do you some good, baby,” Tom pleaded.
“Tom, I can’t leave her,” you whispered.
“Y/N, it’s ok. Let me take you home and Parker will be here in case anything were to happen,” Tom explained.
You were hesitant at first but eventually agreed, it had been awhile since you had showered or had a decent meal. Living off of the same sweatshirt and hospital cafeteria snacks for the past couple days. All your energy had been put into watching Rosie.
While Tom took you home, Parker was tasked with watching his sister. As kids they were both active and had gotten hurt, only most ever being a broken bone, never a life or death situation. Not only was Rosie Parker’s sister, but she was his twin.
His built in best friend. There had never been a time where he didn’t know her, maybe the first 5 mins of his life, but Rosie soon followed. Sure they fought and argued like all siblings do, but they couldn’t imagine their life without each other. He needed her sarcastic comments and infectious laughter to brighten his day. He needed her warm, slightly awkward hugs and her bitchy attitude once in a while. Parker didn’t know what he’d do without her.
“Rosie, I don’t know if you can hear me but mom is a mess, dad has barely said to word and everyone just needs you to wake up. I need you to wake up…. We all do, especially Henry,” Parker whispered.
“God, he secretly loves you. He hasn’t had the balls to tell you yet, but if that it is what you need to wake up, then do it….Let that be it…. That he loves you, Rosie…. He loves you.”
“I know what it is like to lose someone you love. Charlotte didn’t have a choice, but you do. You can fight and come back to us…. Come back to Henry. He needs you. He calls me every night asking if you had woken up yet. Dad banned him from visiting the hospital. Really fucked that one up didn’t you Roo…. You should’ve told him about you and Henry, but that’s beside the point…. The point is let today or tomorrow or next week be the day I tell him you did…. Just promise me you will wake up ok. I know I don’t say it often but I love you.” Parker got everything he needed to say off his chest. Tears had managed to escape from his eyes as he held her hand. Henry was standing in the doorway, when Parker poured his heart out.
“Hey mate. Mind if I have a minute with my girl?” Henry spoke.
“Not at all. Perfect timing, my parents just left,” Parker said, getting up from his crouched position.
“Yeah, I know. I was parked in the parking lot, waiting for them to leave.”
“How much of that did you hear?”
“Oh, none. None what so ever.”
“So practically all of it?” Parker said in response.
“Yeah,” Henry just nodded along.
“I’ll leave you guys alone,” Parker said as left the room.
Now it was just Henry and Rosie.
Tom had forbidden Henry from seeing her, he hasn’t even gotten to hold her hand. Henry tried to hold back tears as he saw the girl he loved looking half-dead. Her skin had lost its color and her necklace, the one he had given her, was stained with blood sitting in a bag on her bedside.
“Hey Roo. I’ve missed you…. Life hasn’t been the same these past few days. I’ve missed all your good night and good morning texts and your smile.” Henry started.
“Everyone wants you to wake up. They need you to wake up. Can you just open your eyes and flash that smile for me? I need it and I need you…. Rosie,… here it goes,… I love you. I couldn’t stand the thought of you never knowing I love you. So there it is, I love you.”
“I love everything about you…. Your eyes, your laugh, even that weird snort you do. I love you and that has to be enough. It has to be enough for you to wake up and come back to me…. Don’t just do it for me, do it for Parker and your dad and your mom. They have all been losing their minds without you.”
“Rosie, please baby. I love you and that has to be enough,” Henry concluded as tears streaked his face. He moved to press a chaste kiss to her forehead when all of a sudden machines starting going off and beeping left and right.
“Rosie? Rosie stay with me!” Henry didn’t know what was happening. All he knew as that she was still alive and prayed to god he wouldn’t hear her flatlining.
Rosie’s body started to jerk and shake, involuntary. The room filled with nurses and doctors, rolling Rosie on to her side. Her muscles spasming everywhere.
“Sir, you need to leave,” said the nurse, prying Henry away from Rosie.
“No, please let me stay with her,” Henry cried, refusing to avert his eyes from Rosie.
“You need to leave. Let us help her.”
Henry stood crying, peering through the glass doors at the love his life slipping before his very eyes. Her seizure only lasted about 8 minutes but, minutes bleed to hours as tears refused to stop.
“Henry? What happened?” Parker said, running up to Henry crouched on the floor with his knees to his chest and head buried.
“I don’t know. They forced me to leave. Her body started shaking violently, I don’t know what happened,” Henry sniffled, titling his head up. His eyes were beet red and his face was riddled with tears. Parker just stood there dumbfounded. He only left for 10 minutes to get some water. How could so much go wrong in that time.
“Young man, are your parents here,” asked the doctor as everyone came out of Rosie’s room.
“No, they went home to grab some things. Why?… Is she dead?” Parker questioning, pulling at the roots of his hair.
“No, she’s alive, but we can’t share any further information till they get here,” explained the doctor. Parker just nodded in response and Henry was able to breath again, exhaling the breath he was unaware he was holding.
Parker was about to make the call he dreaded. This was the entire reason you refused to leave, in case anything were to happen.
“Parker, what’s up. Is Rosie okay?” Tom said as he answered the Parker’s call.
“Dad, no, you need to get to the hospital. Something happened with Rosie but, they won’t tell me anything,” Parker said, his voice wavering.
“Oh my god, I’ll be right there,” Tom said, hanging up the phone. He had been refusing the chance to break down, he felt as though he had to be strong for everyone else.
“Y/N! Y/N!!” Tom screamed through the house. The one time Tom tries to do something good everything gets screwed up.
“Tom, what?” You exclaimed, startled by his screams
“Something happened with Rosie,” Tom said, a fews tears dripped down his face.
“What? No. No, no, no. I wasn’t there. I’m her mom and I wasn’t there. Why the fuck did you make me leave?” You cried, feeling like a terrible mother. You never should’ve left.
“I’m sorry. Be mad at me later, let’s just go,” Tom said, grabbing his car keys.
Tom’s reckless driving was not the problem at the moment, you just need to be there for Rosie. At the hospital, Tom barely parked properly before they were running through the halls. He came upon Parker in the waiting room, looking disheveled as fuck. His eyes were puffy eyes and hair stood up, he could tell his son was tugging on it in frustration.
Tom needed something to take his mind off Rosie. He needed to punch something or beat someone up or even just take his angry out with words.
“Parker, what happened? Is she okay?” You said, scared for Rosie’s life.
“I don’t know. No one has come out of her room,” Parker explained and you just nodded in response, trying not to cry again.
“Parker, what the fuck is Henry doing in here?” Tom demanded.
“Umm,” Parker mumbled.
“I’m sorry sir, I needed to see her,” Henry said profusely, apologizing
“I don’t care what fuck you needed to do. You are the reason she is dying. You were the one driving,” Tom screamed.
“Tom it was an accident,” you said, trying to reassure yourself in the process.
“Y/N I don’t understand how you can take his side when he almost killed our baby girl.”
“Like, I said it was an accident!” you explained.
“Nurse! Nurse!” Tom yelled.
“Yes, sir. Do you need the doctor?” asked the nurse, worried someone was bleeding.
“No. I want to know who the fuck let this boy in here.” Tom thundered.
“I don’t know sir, I’m so sorry. This won’t happen again,” she explained.
“Tom he can stay. If he is telling the truth about loving Rosie this concerns him as much as it concern us,” you said. This must be killing Henry like it was to you.
“No, he fucking can’t. Now get out, before I have you escorted out of here in a body bag,” Tom threatened.
“Alright, I’ll go. Just please, tell me if she wakes up,” Henry pleaded, slowly walking away. He wasn’t going to go home, he couldn’t. He couldn’t leave, not when Rosie was still in that state.
They all saw the doctor come out of the room and quickly cornered him. A grim expression draped across his face created uneasiness in everyone.
“I’m Y/N Holland, I’m her mother. What happened? I just left for twenty minutes,” you asked, tears streaming down your face as you barged in the room.
“We put her on a ventilator, the seizure was caused by lack of oxygen to her brain,” the doctor said.
“I’m sorry, what? She had a seizure?” Tom said, trying to put the puzzle pieces together.
“Yes. Her brain function has remained unchanged for several days now. In my expert opinion, her outlook isn’t very good. I would prepare yourselves. We can keep her comfortable if you would like or we can arrange her to be moved to a facility where she will possibly heal in the future,” explained the doctor.
“What are you saying? She’s brain dead?” asked Parker chiming in.
“It’s too still early to give a definitive diagnosis, but most likely, yes. I’m sorry for your loss.” The doctor said, exiting the room. You wanted to die right in that moment. A piece of you died the second those words slipped out, you were inconsolable.
“Y/N. Baby, come here,” Tom whispered. Trying to reach out for you, his broken wife.
“Don’t fucking touch me. I should’ve never let you convince me to leave,” you cried.
The guilt was enormous for everything. You were the one who let Rosie and Henry date, without that they would have never been driving together. Never gotten in the accident, you couldn’t help but feel responsible.
It was always the same feeling, you felt walking into Rosie’s hospital room. The feeling of drowning or being burned alive. It’s indescribable. A feeling felt by those who lose their children. You put them on this earth and for them to leave it before you was wrong.
“Rosie, I’m so sorry I left baby. I’m here now and I’m never leaving,” you said, combing your hand through her brown locks.
“But its okay if you need to. It’s okay. I’ll be alright, we all will be…. You can let go…. I love you so much sweetheart, don’t every forget how much mommy loves you…. You can rest now,” you said, moving to Rosie’s side to take her hand in yours. Seeing Rosie like this was tearing you apart from the seems.
It wasn’t long before all tears had put you to sleep. Tom had covered you up with a blanket. You talked to Rosie as though she could hear you. Maybe she could, maybe not but, you definitely wished she could. Tom hadn’t had the chance to break down like you. You needed him to be the strong one, but he was human too.
“Rosie, it’s dad. Everyone besides me has gotten the chance to talk to you, so here it goes,” Tom started.
“I know your mother said that is was ok to leave, but it is not. You hear me. Don’t you dare leave…. Rosie, darling you need to fight. Fight whatever it is that will bring you back to us. You are so much stronger than you lead on baby.”
“I love you so much, please come back to us…. I don’t know if your mother can take losing you. Also that boy you secretly hid from me. Once you wake up you are grounded. I don’t know why you fell for that scruffy looking kid but he needs you, baby. We all do,” Tom concluded. There was no easy fix to this problem. He couldn’t go out and torture somebody or beat them til they broke. Not even money could fix this. He felt completely and utterly useless.Tom reached out to the only thing that could help his daughter, God.
“Hey, god above, I don’t really have a name for you. You are just the one who watches over people, you could be from any religion. I don’t know,” Tom said, clasping his hand together as he spoke to the heavens above.
“I know we don’t talk often and I’m sorry for that and I’m sorry for the despicable acts I’ve committed but I need you help…. My daughter needs your help. She was in a car accident and she hasn’t woken up yet. She’s so young, she has her entire life ahead of her and I want her to experience it all…. I’d really like to walk her down the aisle someday. Can you just bring her back to me? That’s all I ask, just bring her back.”
“Thank you. Shit, I’m believe I’m supposed to say amen and I’m sorry for cursing a second ago. Just remember what we talked about, do this for her not me. God knows I don’t deserve it,” Tom said, ending his plea to the god or gods above.
Tom couldn’t of imagined better timing, with his speech, Rosie’s fingers started to twitch in his hand.
“Y/N wake up?” Tom yelled.
“What, I’m up. Is she ok?” You asked, confused by his outburst.
“Better than ok, her hand moved,” Tom explained.
“Oh my god, really? Parker go get the doctor,” you said, moving towards Rosie.
“Rosie?” Tom said as she started to stir.
“Rosie, baby. I’m here” you said, holding her hand. Rosie eyes fluttered open as she choked on the intubation tube, which gave her oxygen.
“Shh, you’re ok. You were in a car accident with Henry. You’re ok,” you said, softly. The look on Rosie’s face broke your heart. She looked so confused and overwhelmed all you wanted to do was hold her and never let go. Yes, she was a teenager but she will always be your baby girl.
Parker quickly brought the doctor in and he conducted a neurological exam. He removed the tube down her throat, allowing her to breath normally.
“Rosie, you’re awake. Don’t try to talk, it will feel weird for a while. I can get you something for the pain. I’m going to have you do a few tests. Blink once for yes and twice for no, ok?” The doctor explained. Rosie followed his instructions and blinked once. You and Tom were holding each other, praying Rosie didn’t have any brain damage.
“Follow the light for me please. Good. Squeeze my hand. Good grip… These are all amazing signs. Everything looks good. No neurological deficits, but I still would like to get an MRI for her. In the meantime, just rest. It’s going to feel weird as your brain has basically been sleeping for a week,” the doctor concluded, leaving everyone alone to rejoice.
“Mom?” Rosie said, her voice extremely hoarse.
“Yeah, honey. Take it easy,” you said. Words couldn’t describe how you were feeling, you got your daughter back.
“Where’s Henry?” Rosie croaked out.
“He’s ok Rosie, I believe he is outside. Would you like to see him?” You asked, much to Tom’s dismay. Rosie just nodded in response, trying to make everything seem less hazy.
“Rosie,” Henry said with a biggest smile on his face. Nothing could bring this boy down from cloud 9, she was ok. The love of his life was ok.
“Hi,” she said with a half-smile. That’s all she could must her up with her energy.
“Thank god you’re okay. I don’t know what I’d do without you,” Henry said, kissing her forehead.
“We will give you two a minute,” you said, pulling Tom and Parker out of the room. Tom was giving you a bunch of harsh glares, he knew what you were doing. However, he too ecstatic that Rosie was awake to be mad at Henry.
“Are you okay? How do you feel?” Henry asked concerned.
“I’m okay. Henry, I have to tell you something,” Rosie responded.
“I love you…. Walking up in the hospital bed just made me realize who cares if it’s too soon or if you don’t feel the same way, I just had to tell you. I love you,” Rosie declared. This was his chance, break her heart and walk away, she didn’t deserve to be here in a hospital bed. Tom was right, Henry knew what he had to do.
“Rosie, I think we should break up,” Henry said, already feeling like he made the biggest mistake of his life.
“What, why? Did I do something wrong? I thought we were happy. Just yesterday you said you were falling in love me. What the fuck happened?” Rosie faltered, confused by everything.
“Rosie, it’s just not working,” Henry exclaimed with the lamest excuse.
“Fine. Leave,” she said, trying to not let tears fall.
“Roo, we can still be friends.”
“Don’t fucking say that to me. You don’t get to call me that anymore,” Rosie screamed.
“Rosie, I’m sorry,” Henry tried to say something else but was cut off.
“Just get the fuck out. I’m serious, FUCKING LEAVE!!” she thundered as he left. Henry felt like literal shit and an asshole and a fucking idiot all at once. He had just broken the heart of the girl he loves. It was never supposed to happen this way.
“Henry? What’s wrong?” You asked as you saw Henry storm through the halls.
“Are you happy Tom? I did it,” Henry barked.
“Glad she’s awake. Y/N you should go in there, she needs you,” Henry exclaimed, before leaving for good this time.
“Tom, we need to talk about Rosie and Henry,” you said, furious at Tom and his decision to break them up.
“He’s gonna fucking break her heart and I won’t allow it,” Tom yelled.
“You can’t keep them apart and you already did that,” you said sternly, you couldn’t believe the nerve on your husband.
“Y/N end of fucking discussion. I can’t believe you didn’t tell me. We don’t keep secrets from each other. For fucks sake, how fucking stupid are you? Letting our daughter whore around with that kid, just like you did,” he vociferated.
“Whore around like I did? Really? Why don’t you look in the fucking mirror?” You screamed, zero fucks were given.
“What the fuck is that supposed to mean?” Tom barked.
“I know about you and Jazz.”
“What?”
“You went to a hotel and met her there. Tell me I’m wrong,” you interjected. Tom was too furious to explain his actions, he let you believe he cheated on you.
“Your silence answers my question,” you remarked, wanting to break down inside.
“Tom, just so you know you're sleeping on the couch tonight,” you said. You had your answer now. How could Tom do that to you. I didn’t matter in that moment all that mattered was consoling your daughter who Tom broke.
“Real fucking mature Y/N,” Tom yelled, as you walked away.
“Rosie?” You asked, knocking on her door.
“Mom… he broke up with me,” Rosie said as tears fell.
“Oh, baby. I’m so sorry.”
“I don’t know what I did wrong…. I swear to god if he met some other chick while I was in a coma.”
“No, nothing like that,” you said, trying to comfort your daughter. There is nothing like a first heartbreak.
“There has to be a reason. One minute I was in love with a boy who loved me back and now, I’m not.”
“Shh, it's okay,” you said, rubbing you hand down Rosie’s back as you pulled her into your arms. How could Henry actually do that to her and flee the scene like a coward. Parker managed to chase him down in the parking lot.
“What the fuck Henry?” Parker called after him
“I did it because I love her,” Henry exclaimed, continuing to walk away.
“Bullshit,” Parker yelled as he punched Henry square in the jaw.
“Owww.”
“I said, I’d fucking hurt you if you broke her heart.”
“Yeah, I know. It was still a shitty threat, but I deserved that.”
“I don’t understand what happened Henry. One minute you tell me you love her the next you don’t…. I don’t know if I will ever understand but you can’t come by the house for awhile,” Parker pleaded, wanting to know the truth.
“Alright. Just tell her I’m sorry mate.” Henry concluded, feeling like literal shit and an asshole and a fucking idiot all at once. He had just broken the heart of the girl he loves. It was never supposed to happen this way.
Author note: I'm sorry for all those who love Rosie and Henry. Don't be afraid to call me a bitch for breaking your heart, my brother did when he read it. Also Tom is a literal asshole in this chapter.
I really can't wait for you guys to read the next ones, even if you don't ask for it. I will post hints for the next chapter with emojis because it's fun.
