he like,, focuses so much on content and his persona that he kinda starts forgetting who he rlly is? i went more abstract here but if i am to actually do anything i think itd be more of a dissonance between the persona he puts on for his videos and the Actual guy rather than a physical thing yknow.

OKAY so while i was making these picrews i was like "hmm. should i add him to hex and moes story?? or like,, make a series out of this universe*, since theyre both abt a specific brand of youtubers" and i still havent decided (maybe once i have more story w this guy ill think abt it more) BUT i did find a character to potentially connect him with:

so the lore on anastasia is that she was dating this dude and he killed her after she broke up w him after realizing she was aro. then she haunts her apartment, which hex and moe move into, eventually possessing moe to avenge herself and kill her shitty ex boyfriend <3 yay <3

i only had a little bit abt her bf, just enough for him to not feel too flat, cuz while he Is a major driving force in the story, he doesnt get much of a role and he dies anyway so like. ive been focusing on the main characters ofc. but i Did make him in One picrew a year or two ago and i Think i gave him a name (based on what the file name of the picrew i have of him is called):

i believe his name is vessel. he named himself in the "omg this is such a good word im gonna look so chill and swag if i change my name to it" (looks like a loser) way, not the trans way. bro is Painfully cishet dfhjg but like,, hes a hipster and a condescending dick and thats. all i had tbh.

but now im thinking abt making him Youtube Guys roommate/fellow youtuber who all the fans ship him with (this is a bad thing btw i dont,, ship real ppl ofc lmao) and i Do wanna redesign him a tad but ..... the bones of smth more fleshed out are there now.... hes not just Some Guy Ana Kills....

the idea thus far is that Youtube Guy knew abt what vessel did to ana, but kept quiet for their careers + thats his Roommate and Best Friend. he had the capacity to kill his own girlfriend (albeit Sort of unintentionally), if Guy speaks up vessel is Absolutely going to kill him!!! something something toxic yaoi but its not really yaoi and theyre queerbaiting the internet and Guy doesnt feel safe around vessel anymore<3

Concept for your desire to do a specific bracket tournament that isn't weighted against OCs: EVERY character is represented by a Picrew or a stock image, and EVERY character has the name of their source work written without any indication if it's actually published (if the WIP does not yet have a title, a placeholder title is used without indicating that it is such). Voters won't know if the character is from something published that they simply haven't heard of yet

The problem with this is that it would still have the issue of things being weighted towards popular characters - people still know who The Knight from Hollow Knight is, even if we don't use an official image and instead used a stock image of the void or painstakingly reconstruct them in a Picrew. The main thing that gets people to vote in a tournament is connection - knowing the character or the people attached to them.

The thing that biases things against OCs in this tournament is, primarily, their limited spread - the lack of people who would be familiar with them. Though more well-known OCs can circumvent this enough to stand on firm ground with characters - someone like spotsupstuff's Three Sparrows On A Wire, for example, might have a solid chance in a tournament with canon characters, there will still be less people invested in Sparrows than there are, say, people invested Humans-B-Gone!'s Sophodra.

Because the thing with canon characters is that, by definition, you've already seen them in action. They already have a story that you can readily access, compared to an OC, where the creator has to write and present the story themself - and a story that's never been written is very, very difficult to invest people in. You can't put the emotional impact of someone you've followed for a million words up against the emotional impact of a cool design you saw in the interwebs, and if you have to create emotional investment in the space of a bio, you're naturally going to fare worse than someone who's had hundreds of pages to win you over.

Really, the only way we can see it working well is something like that @guess-that-ship's format of "text only, can't name anything that would give the game away in regards to who it is", and for obvious reasons, that's... not quite going to work the same way.

My name is Professor Amo (She/her by the way!), I've been the Naranja/Uva Academy's Archeology professor for about two years now (as of 2024) -One of the kids in my class (@trainergraceneedstherapy I KNOW you've been talking about me. Tell Will I said hello!) convinced me to give this whole thing a shot-who knows, with this team nightmare shit going on It may be a good idea, easier to communicate that way if something goes wrong. I've lived in Paldea most of my life-..I don't talk to my family much, if you're curious about them-you'll probably find on my record they're champion ranked trainers. Except me, y'know-the family disappointment. But I get along where I am just fine, sneak off to see the ruins occasionally-call it an impromptu field trip!

Like, while searching for Ingo, though a train wreck emotionally, he was DEADLY. If he had not rigid principles about how his existence should never bring harm to another being, he would have a big kill count from how many battles he got into as as the disguised man who threw himself at every possible track that could get him answers. He had made enemies. His one-track mind was serving him well. Despite the emotional state, the constant fights he got into and his prior, superior physique made him a force to be reckoned with. He was just a tool to be used in Ingo's missing person case. And he made sure he was used ragged and bloody.

Now that the 'welcome home, Ingo' verse is more of a main verse on the blog and discord shenanigans, it's... so interesting to see the ashes trying to move around like the person it used to be. Jarring. Almost uncanny. He is not the bubbly, innocent younger brother anymore, though he still gets excited easily and tries his hand at making friends. He is not the "tool" anymore, there is no one to fight and his body is a mess. So, it is just... this man's journey to realizing what he lost, and how he will never be the same again. He thinks he is the same Emmet, but with the unwavering belief in good life and happy future, and the unstoppable drive to find Ingo ripped out of his heart... What is he fighting for?

So, he is... lost. He got what he wanted, but nothing is going to change the damage done to him mentally and physically. And he is no longer the extremely confident person he is. He is verrrry insecure and... hurting inside. He has to address this, but Ingo is here now. Emmet got what he wanted. Even if Ingo and him are not... in sync now. Even though there are days upon days where they do not share a word or even a lunch together.

Ingo is here now. But Emmet is not.
