⭒ haikyuu x exam season ⭒

Daichi- when i say he is the MOODIEST person when studying. It’s all fun and games until you interrupt him one too many times and he fucking explodes. Needs 2 chill

Suga- his goal in life is to be an aesthetic studyblr like this man will go and get iced coffee, order the prettiest stationary and then spend 20 minutes organising it for his instagram. As for ACTUALLY studying? He’s amazing at it. Literally the person we all aspire to be

Asahi- anxiety crams before tests. He does more than like 70% of his classmates but is always convinced he’s fallen behind on everything. Cries a LOT when he doesnt understand smth

Noya- another one who cries only he does it SO easily. Personally victimised by anything past question 1. Gets literally everyone to do his work for him

Tanaka- tries so hard he really really does. His handwriting is a mess and his notes look like something a 7 year old would do. Gets everything wrong but doesnt let it stop him

Ennoshita- did someone say pretentious straight A student??? Offers to help his friends just so he can flex his pretty notes and intelligence. Seems like he has everything under control but really? He cries like once a night in the lead up to exams

Kageyama- he doesnt have any room for anything in his head that isnt volleyball. Hes hopeless

Hinata- LACKS COMMON SENSE SO BAD. He’ll finally understand EVERYTHING but write the answer in the wrong place or leave out a decimal place in the exam. Stupidest mistakes

Tsukishima- he sticks to a study schedule like what? Who tf sticks to a schedule? Doesnt like to flaunt his grades around anyone who isnt hinata and kageyama, but akiteru and his mom are 100% the type to post his grades all over facebook like “so proud of my son !!!!!!”

Yamaguchi- the king of saying he hasn’t done much for exams, but then stays up every night til 2am studying. He HATES people having any expectations of him so keeps all his preparation secret lmao.

Kuroo- hes smart and he flaunts it so bad. 100% a teacher's pet, especially for science. Around exam season he lives in the library. Motivates kenma to study with him too tho hes so supportive

Kenma- hes naturally smart, which is like 70% of the reason his grades are good bc he does NOT study. Leaves it all to the night before/ when hes with his friends in the library but other than that nope he doesnt have energy

Lev- doesn't fully register he’s taking a test until he’s 3 questions in and hasn’t written a single word. Then he starts panicking.

Bokuto- he goes through the 5 stages of grief every single time he has to study. Gets frustrated as hell when he cant understand something, gets distracted by everything, a mess. Always leads to him slamming his textbook shut and sulking for an hour

Akaashi- the only one in fukurodani who actually spreads his studying out over the year so he doesnt have to cram. He has pretty notes and diagrams but still gets so stressed smh

Konoha- “yeah ill study in ten minutes” *cue him 6 hours later only starting* studies mostly at night and doesnt care about grades , yet still manages to score really good on every test

Oikawa- if this man is anything he’s dedicated. Actually finds balance between volleyball and studying when exam season’s in full swing, but that doesnt mean he still doesnt overwork himself. Surviving on 40 minutes of sleep and coffee lmao

Mattsun- doesn’t take school seriously at all. Hes like “who cares im gonna die one day” “if i dont know it now ill never know it”. So fucking chill

Makki- tries to be like issei so bad but it fails every time. He’s like “yeah who cares about biology anyway lmao”. He is a liar. He cried for 2 hours over biology last night smh. Biology is actually his number one care.

Iwa- naturally smart and follows a routine. The only healthy studier in seijoh tbh. Motivates his friends so much though hes the only reason mattsun and makki pass smh

Ushijima- sounds pretentious but he doesnt mean it. The worst person to study with because hes so naturally smart and makes everyone feel stupid. Hes like “how do you not understand this? Its easy?”

Tendou- hes so average when it comes to studying i cant even explain it. He goes home and studies, has dinner, watches some anime and studies a little more, then just goes to bed? Never overly concerned about it but hes the best for calming nerves. Makes you really believe things will be okay

Goshiki- CHRONIC WORRIER OH MY GOD. definitely gets the shakes before an exam and almost has a fuckin panic attack every single time, never feels prepared but he really is. Needs tendou for emotional support

Atsumu- too confident in his abilities lmao. He’s like “yeah ive got this i totally know it” then acts shocked and appalled when he fails. Thinks he’s the main character, therefore he HAS to pass. He’s not. And he never learns.

Osamu- the slightly smarter twin yet still not exceptional in any way. Doesnt really care about grades, he knows there’s more to life but still studies enough to pass

Kita- hello mr “whats a failing grade”. Never stresses and never fails. Actually the top of his class in basically everything. Manages to study and still find time for hobbies.

Aone- i am convinced a hug from him would get me through exam season every single year. Another person who just? Doesnt stress? Follows a routine and doesnt mind if he doesnt know something in the test. wow

Futakuchi- “i dont care about exams at all fuck them” *gets 53% and cries*. He doesnt have the patience to study and feels betrayed when all his friends actually do the work

Koganegawa- hes like hinata only he actually passes most of the time. Works SO hard and gets so happy when it pays off!! Always treats himself to mcdonalds after an exam thats self love babie

Terushima- you need to be cautious around this man. He’ll spend every night of exam season partying and ignoring any responsibility, yet still come out with 100% in everything. Where does he find the time? How does that work? What the fuck?

Hi! So I have a question, I’m a new writer to some fandoms and I was wondering if you had any advice on how to become a more well known writer / achieve more notes on works as a new writer in fandoms. I love writing and I really don’t put my stuff out solely for notes but, when I put effort into fics I just wish more people would reblog or comment, and I just wish I knew a better way to make my blog “bigger” or more well known :/

hi!!! welcome to writing for fandoms. it ain’t much but it’s fun. here’s some advice i can give to you below the cut :) this is all my opinion/my experience so keep that in your mind when you read.

1. tags are your best friend: exploit every tag relating to your content as possible. only the first 20 show up in the tags when people search them up so use those wisely. after you post, it’s also a good idea to just check that it showed up in the tags. most of the time, they do but it’s just good to double check.

2. links kill your posts: unless you’re certain that your stuff will show up, more often than not, links to other posts/websites will cause your post not to show up. it’s stupid but it’s how tumblr works now which is really annoying.

3. participate in writing challenges: a good way to get your name spread is by participating in a lot of writing challenges and to keep track of which ones youve entered. besides being an incredibly nice way to get feedback, more people see it. it’s also really fun to write with a specific prompt or song in mind.

4. interact with your community: if you have time, read some fics and reblog them, follow some other writing blogs. i have mutuals that i don’t talk to but i greatly enjoy seeing their blog on my dash and i tag them in things im tagged in for games. i try to respond to most of the reblogs/comments i get and all the asks i receive. if you think you can handle doing requests, inform your followers that they’re open and have them send stuff in or reblog prompt lists. don’t be afraid to be who you are on your blog bc most of the time, people follow you for the writing but there are a few who follow you for who you are as a blog owner as well. it’s about the personality too. sometimes, you can remind them at the end of the fic to leave a reblog/comment just to remind them after they’re done reading :)

5. keep an updated masterlist or a place where someone can find all your stuff easily: this is including drabbles, headcanons, etc. someone is more likely to follow if they know they can find your masterlist post that could be linked in your bio or a certain tag they can search up to find all of your stuff. it’s just easier to navigate. make it easily accessible!

6. timezone reblogs: SUPER helpful because when you post, only a certain amount of people will see it due to timezones. i normally reblog every 4 hours and schedule them onto my blog to be posted while i sleep as well. this is super helpful for keeping your work rotating through different tumblr user’s blogs and reach more people who might not have seen it otherwise bc they were busy, asleep, etc. also helps keep your work in the tags bc it boosts your notes. (i have examples of how i do timezone reblogs. you can search it up)

7. it’s your blog: write for whoever you feel like, in whatever genre, and do whatever you want. don’t be afraid to be multifandom and don’t think you have to write for a certain character or under a certain word limit for it to be successful. although there are certain popular characters that people are more likely to read and readers often like shorter fics full of fluff and smut and such, you can write whatever you want. i write angst A LOT even though my fluffier fics have done better. and that’s what i think is my trademark: super long fics and a lot of angst. it’s up to you to do what you want which leads to my next point.

7.5. remember that you can curate your own style and niche for your blog. if readers know you write for these characters, know your interests, they’ll be more likely to follow you. for example, i’ve gained more harry potter-related blogs as followers even though i have never posted hp writing on here that was like a one-shot or anything. i’ve just started reblogging hp content recently. some of my followers reblog the witcher posts that i reblog as well. some followers dont even follow me for my writing.

8. on a more aesthetic note/relating to 5: keep your posts tidy. make sure they’re fomatted correctly bc pasting from your writing app to tumblr is sometimes hell, and just make sure you always doublecheck your work. no one wants to read a big chunk of text or paragraphs that are single-spaced. there’s the trend where writers often add gifs/pictures to their posts which catches a reader’s eye and helps with the visual.

9. it takes time: don’t keep your expectations too high. sometimes, the thing you work for months on won’t do well and other things you worked on for like 20 mins will do extremely well. that’s just how life works sometimes. lately, tumblr has sucked at keeping likes/reblog ratio even at all and mostly, you’ll get more likes than reblogs/comments. it’ll suck, but at the end of the day, they’re the consumers. they respond to your fic how they see fit. but you’ll grow. sometimes you’ll have bursts of followers, sometimes they trickle in. mostly, once you get rolling, you sometimes get those bursts after you post a fic and people begin t o see it. lately, i’ve been getting a few followers a day and it slowly builds up. seriously, don’t worry about the “followers” number even though sometimes it’s all you can think about. one day, you’ll check and be pleasantly surprised by how many people follow you.

10. it’s mostly how much you write sometimes: i’m sure if i posted more i’d gain more followers but as it is, i write like one fic a month bc they’re normally on the longer side and burn me out pretty easily since i work on other writing projects beside the stuff i post on here and i am a senior in high school who is just tryna graduate at this point. potential followers like a blog that puts out work. however, this doesn’t mean force yourself to write. if you wanna get big, you also wanna present quality work that you’re proud of.

11. i’d say lastly, though this is not so important and therefore the last but not least platitude falls flat here, is that keep your blog active. i do this by keeping a queue running from 2am to 12pm aka from night to day. it’s just nice to be a presence on your followers dashes which keeps you present in their minds.

okay story time this is the progression of mine and @papesdontsellthemselves friendship (complete with pictures)

so once upon a time (actually it was november of last year) i was a Sad high school senior drowning my sorrows in my tumblr account as newsies royalty while i stressed over my college applications and auditions. most of my pastimes included 1. writing shitty fics 2. reading good fics and 3. listening to bad music from 2012. and i happened to stumble upon some newsies pics as one does by Someone called @papesdontsellthemselves or, as was listed in the bio “Mikey”

nevertheless i binge read all of them at approximately 2am on a school night and probably fell asleep in ap euro the next morning. i very much liked his fics. they were slappy. and i started to stalk his account, as any normal person would.

and once or twice or several times, as any person who runs out of ideas does, he asked for prompt requests. and me, being a sad fangirl of this poor bois account, decided to send him some. (he still has one that he never answered) and he wrote a few of them. this one was my favorite go read it (i think i inspired this one)

and then one day i opened my tumblr acc and THIS was waiting for me:

then you know some time went by as time does and we sort of awkwardly coexisted. i actually was within like 10 minutes of him for a college audition before we knew each other that was pretty wild.

and then

the fateful day

i was sitting in ap stats, bored out of my mind, and decided to ignore the lesson on z scores or whatever it was cause what the fuck else are you supposed to do in ap stats and go on tumblr (seriously do not take ap stats its terrible, its an acid trip, i barely passed that class) and i had a message waiting for me from the one and only @papesdontsellthemselves that said something like:

“lol sorry to bother you chief but how to you put your tag lists on your pics so they dont take forever ooo sorry!!”

and i was like ssksksksjskskjsk why is tumblr royalty @papesdontsellthemselves talking to me, a lowly peasant, and i may have freaked out for a hot sec but then i responded something like

“i have it in a google doc and then hit the down arrow and the return key really fast lol”

(only recently he revealed to me that he didnt actually give a shit about my tag list (r00d) and that he just wanted an excuse to talk to me and That was what he came up with and he screamed after he sent the message cause he was so scared. also he was in theater with his weird shoeless teacher not paying attention. we’re good students i promise.)

and then we got to Talking and we just didnt Stop talking? like i told him about jeff, my shitty english teacher and he told me about his theater teacher who made them do 9/11 shakespeare and we bonded and then we sent each other pictures of our dogs:

and we also went through The Awkward Stage

but then

a miracle happened

twas christmas eve, about like idk 3pm and the two of us were Awkwardly Conversing as awkward internet friends do and i was getting changed for christmas eve dinner (cause my family Extra and you have to be Fancy or face the Wrath of the Elders) and I'm digging through my closet looking for something Presentable when discover The Pencil Skirt.

it twas a rather unsuspecting article, green wool with faint plaid stripes, and hand-me-down from some aunt, and i decided to put it on because i had limited fancy clothes and didnt wanna do a repeat from a previous year. so i added my One White Button Down Shirt and some black dance tights and called it a day.

so then me, being me, was messaging mikey and said (keep in mind were still practically strangers and had been barely talking for a week):

“wow i actually look kinda hot right now like maybe someone would bang me. like, I'm not into that, but I look good enough that someone might consider it.”

yes

me, an asexual, said that to a total stranger on the internet.

what were you Thinking saph.

truly, i have no idea.

but for some reason, instead of being scared away (like a normal sane person should be) mikey laughed and we began calling each other daddy. i dont know okay, it was a wild experience. I'm not sure if it actually happened.

so, my skirt became The Daddy Skirt, a tragic symbol of our strange friendship, and the two of us exited the Awkward Stage.

truly it was an exciting time:

and then we gave each other nicknames. the sappy kind not the cursed kind. mikey was bean cause he was a coffee bean and cocoa bean addict. and i was originally shrub and then bear and finally peanut. im not sure why. he isn't either.

boi also Literally guessed my real name. like straight up. and i was like “o word.” it was trippy.

AND THEN twas a cold february day when we decided to exchange faces. i send him a picture of me eating a christmas tree. he sent me a picture of him in his kitchen wearing sun glasses frat boy posing. truly iconic.

we also liked to look up weird things late at night and have revelations about dumb shit, as seen by these Unexplained Screenshots i have on my phone:

then we decided to finally talk on instagram instead of this hell site and i was exposed to mikeys finsta *shudder*

nothing much else interesting happened until: College *dun dun dunnnnnn*

(except for that one time i had a mental breakdown at 1am and he drove home form some party to ig call me and tell me about the time his dog ended up in solitary confinement. a true g)

so for Safety Reasons, i finally gave milky my number when i got to school and we started texting and Facetiming which was a Trip.

i also sent him a Box of Cursed Content. he tried to send the box back to me in october and it still hasn't arrived. we think it may be in antarctica.

and then we tried to coordinate to meet up like three (3) separate times before We Got Lucky, the Stars Aligned, and we held hands in the back of an a&f

(we also hugged in a nordstrom in like the Fancy Clothes Section and the lady thought we were definitely dating cause we took pics of us hugging in the fuckin mirror pillar. also i almost lost my wallet but thats another story.)

and next year our wild journey will continue (hopefully)

Anon asked: lol ben and joe having instagram wars on who can post the most embarrassing content of reader

A/N: again, written on my phone because the writing demon possessed me at 2am. I'm probs gonna have this as a series akin to B/R/R, aka disconnected vignettes in the same universe. Lemme know if you wanna be tagged. A case of the mondays is a McElroy reference, before you ask. 😊😊

It starts when Joe wakes up to an empty bed and noises coming from the kitchen; noises being footsteps, a loud bang, and some half coherent swearing. There's silence for a moment, then the opening and closing of the fridge. As soon as he's got his wits about him and realises it's just you in the other room, he opens his phone.

"So I wake up to no girlfriend and noises in the kitchen," Joe says after a minute of searching through his closet for his baseball bat, ready to film a bit for his Instagram. As he makes his way to the kitchen now, he holds the bat in frame, "I'm ready to rescue her if it's robbers." He assured the camera, voice still quiet and rough with sleep. Once he gets to the kitchen, however, he stops dead at the sight before him. There's a very long couple of seconds where all that the camera catches is his surprise.

"Why do you have a bat?" Your voice is muffled, as if you're speaking around something, and that's when Joe seems to remember he's filming, he changes to his front facing camera and turns on his phone light, exposing the fact that you're sitting cross legged on the kitchen island, eating a banana with a carton of juice in your other hand. You hiss at the light, arm coming up to sheild your eyes. The light doesn't move, and after a beat you shift your arm so he can see your face scrunched up where you're squinting at him, clearly unhappy about this intrusion into your snacking time. You take another bite of banana.

"Why are you on the counter?" He breathes, a little flabbergasted, and you chew, looking down at where you're seated, as if it's only just occurred to you that it's not exactly a normal chair. After a beat, you shrug, and raise the juice carton to your lips taking a long swig. You were so focused, so deliberate, and so obviously tired and half asleep that Joe couldn't help but laugh.

"Seriously, why do you have a bat?" And you finished the banana and put the peel down beside you with far more delicacy than it reasonably warranted.

"I heard noises and you weren't there, so I thought I'd come protect you from robbers." He explained, moving forward until he was standing next to you by the counter. You gaze into the middle distance for a moment as you contemplated his words.

"I was the robbers." You say, nodding sagely as the realisation comes to you. As if to prove this point, you reach out blindly for the fruit bowl that you'd already accosted once, picking up a lime and trying to fit the whole thing in your mouth. The last thing the video catches is Joe lunging forward to pull the fruit from between your teeth with a surprised exclamation before the video cuts off.

It's there that he realises that you're not half asleep, you're completely asleep, and sleep-eating at that. You're compliant enough when he leads you back to bed, though you adamantly refuse to let go of the juice, and you sit it triumphantly on your bedside table before promptly falling back into bed. Despite everything, Joe can't help but be endeared as he settles in beside you.

The video goes up the following morning after he shows it to you for your approval.

It becomes a thing, much to your chagrin, 'a case of the Mondays' becomes a meme the moment Ben posts a video from set, of him walking into his trailer where you'd been waiting for him, only for him to find you laying on his sofa under a fluffy blanket, watching Netflix with a face mask on.

"You took too long, now I'm having me-time." You announced. In the background, the Friends theme song starts.

Ben captions the video 'when you're hit with a case of the mondays', and tags you.

Not fifteen minutes later, Joe responds with his own video posted to his Instagram story captioned 'are mondays contagious? asking for a friend'. The video seems to have been taken not long after Ben's since you're still in a facemask on his sofa in the trailer, the difference is that Ben's in a face mask, and you've got your feet in his lap. The video starts in the middle of a heated argument, and it takes a few moments for the two of you to realise Joe is there, filming. Ben's the first to reach out to him.

"Monica's the worst Friend, right? Back me up here." He asks, and before Joe can even think about answering, you groan loudly, rolling your eyes.

"Ross is obviously the worst Friend, are you kidding me? He's manipulative, he's mean, he's-" you start, carefully extracting yourself from beneath the blanket as you spoke, peeling off your face mask.

"He's a terrible boyfriend and brother, yeah, but he's not the worst Friend," Ben elaborates, following behind you, and Joe quickly takes your spot on the sofa while you're in the bathroom. The argument continues as you wrinse your faces, you taking it in stride easily when you realise your seat's been usurped, sitting yourself in Joe's lap while Ben takes back his original seat. Finally the two of you look to Joe who had been waiting for this moment. The Friends laugh track goes off in the background.

"Well, you're both wrong; the worst Friend is Phoebe." He announced very matter of factly, like it's something he's been sure of for a while. After a beat, both you and Ben groan in unison, you even going so far as to move from Joe's lap to Ben's. That's where the video stops.

You update your Instagram story not long after with a picture of Joe in a face mask, grinning like an absolute fool, captioned 'we got him'.

There's more videos, more pictures, all showcasing you in the worst lighting or weird situations, and all of which you approve before they're posted, despite how embarrassing some of them may seem. Despite all of this, you don't care; it's posted because you're comfortable enough to share yourself with them, even in less than flattering situations, and when you look up, their gaze meeting yours where they're grinning behind their cameras, you can see in their eyes the fondness, the 'yeah, this is the fool I love'.

Ben posts a candid video of you recreating the Risky Business sock-slide scene when the song comes on your Spotify while folding the laundry. The moment you spot him, he stops filming however, because he sees the mischief in your eyes, and the way your hips are moving as you step towards him; you're feeling silly and sexy, climbing into his lap on the sofa, still dancing, though it's more grinding now, and singing the half remembered words. That's not for the rest of the world to see.

Joe posts a series of photos chronicling you forgetting to use an oven mitt to check on the frozen pizza you'd chucked in the oven, and even goes so far as to draw a red circle around the mitt that was literally sitting on the counter beside the oven as you sulked in the foreground of the final photo, holding a bag of frozen peas to your hand. He doesn't post about how he sits you down in front of the TV and brings you a proper ice pack, how he finishes getting dinner all ready and how he and Ben spend the rest of the night doting on you as much as they gently tease you.

They post dumb, nonsense arguments, but not sleepy morning kisses; your reaction to trying food that's way too spicy, even for you, but not how you smile so sweetly over desserts; the way you nap in the weirdest places, bit not how cute you look when you fall asleep on one of them. That's by design. From the outside the relationship is fun and chaotic and bright, but you don't owe the world a confirmation of just how much you love these men. But honestly, the world seems to understand, and somehow that doesn't make you uncomfortable. Though even the small snippets the three of you have shared, it's clear you love and trust each other.

And it comes out in other ways too, other cast members, not that you really mind.

"Tell us about Ben, Joe, and Y/N, are they actually sappy on set?" Gwilym reads out a question during an Instagram live session he's hosting in his trailer to kill time between scenes. "Listen, I'll tell you what, they're worse on set," he tells his audience with playfully annoyed expression, getting up. "Joe's trailer is right next to mine and if I check-" leaving his own trailer he takes his phone with him, knocking on the one next door as the comments of his live show go absolutely nuts, "I bet all three of them are in there." He mused.

Joe opens the door, yawning and rubbing his eyes, clearly having just woken up. "Keep it down, man," Joe mumbles before he sees the phone in Gwil's hand.

"Sorry I woke you, say hello to Instagram, Joe." Joe grins, giving a wave when Gwil holds up the phone. "They were asking about you three," he knows without having to ask that you and Ben are with him. Whenever you came to visit the set the three of you stuck pretty close together.

"They're still asleep," Joe steps aside to allow Gwil to peak inside. As promised, you and Ben were draped over each other on the sofa, though your feet have clearly been moved where Joe had to extract himself to answer the door. The UK Office is playing on someone's laptop. You yawn in your sleep and nestle in against Ben further, even Gwil's heart melts a bit at that.

"Alright, sorry to wake you," Gwil smiles and retreats as Joe stifles a yawn and assures him it's no trouble at all. When he's back in his own trailer, Gwil takes a breather before going back to looking at his live stream.

"They're cute, it's disgusting at times, how cute they are, and yeah, no, they don't show a lot of that in public, but they do really care about each other." He paused, shrugging, "and sometimes they're just weird. I saw Joe dare Ben to try and eat a whole apple in one bite, and he tried, and Joe video called Y/N when it got stuck, but it turns ou her solution was for her to eat a whole apple in one go too, to see how to get out of it; it just got stuck. They all seemed surprised by this, and it was just one of those times where I was like 'ah, yes these people make sense together', you know?" He shrugged, grinning as he read a few comments, "yeah it really did feel like they all got hit with a case of the mondays."

New DGD is good but I have to admit... a little disappointing 😔 Into The Sunset is the first DGD song ive actively disliked which is saying a lot bc ive been a huuuge fan since i was 14. And a bummer to end the album with not bc its slower than the rest but bc it sucks so hard.

Also, I noticed this on Artificial Selection but the tone of their lyrics have started to change a little. They're still weird obviously but theyre a bit more positive (which is fine and good, I am a human being and I like positivity) and the choruses to songs are more, like, cheesy if that makes sense? More straightforward, less abstract. Which I actually kind of dont mind bc I feel like theyve been leaning into it slowly ever since Tillian joined. Like they're self aware and taking themselves much less seriously which, again, I dont mind at all. I think its fun :)

Well, for the most part.

I was all on board for the ride until I got to Born To Fail. The music fucks hardcore and it really sounds gorgeous but the lyrics in the chorus are what kinda threw me off. They're simple but harsh, and the combination comes across as a little juvenile.

Honestly I feel like you need to know the full history of the band and Tillian's former projects for this to not come across as some PO'd teenager throwing a tantrum.

Actually, upon second thought maybe its not the lyrics themselves but the music surrounding it. Like it gives it an air of seriousness or whatever. Who knows! Its still a good song though, incredibly sexy guitars as always 😌

Im gonna end this post now bc whatever spirit that possesed me to write this now at 2am is leaving me and its my blog so I can do whatever nonsense I please . goodbye

3) I wish I was brave enough to share my writing like you do. I'm really scared people will think I'm stupid or that I suck. I'm too shy to share much 🙈 How can someone get over that kind of fear?

Dude, if I could take you back to the first fic I ever wrote- I think it was Dramione? Or H2O, it was seriously just awful like wow oh my god. But the thing was- people were so nice. And dude, it was shit. I promise you, it really was. What i’m saying is- you are your own harshest critic, and that’s super cliche but it’s true. No one will judge your work the way you do. And the feeling when people are nice- oh god, it just- it’s worth the risk. No one is going to think youre stupid or you suck because you had the fucking moxie to create something in the first place. I know it’s hard to take that first leap- I was too young to truly comprehend how scary it was when I did it, but I know you can get there. Sometimes it’s nicest starting in a tiny little fandom because everyone is so supportive and you all know each other and you can build confidence that way- saying that, the starker fandom is by far the most supportive one i’ve ever been in (teen wolf a close second, but there can be some mean anons there who for some reason are obsessed with scott??? like i like him, but let’s chill out, sorry off topic) and there will be haters, but fuck them. I, personally, would read anything you wrote and i would never have anything negative to say. I might be like “dude could you put stuff into paragraphs cuz it’s hard to read a block of text on my phone” but that’s it- that’s the worst thing i would ever say. i’d be too busy being grateful that you’d written some glorious content.

It’s scary, my gorgeous darling, but you can get there. The more fic you read, the more confident you get, and soon you’ll get more confident in YOU. As long as YOU like your writing (which is one of the hardest things ever) it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks.

that being said, nothing wrong with shyness. It’s okay to keep it to yourself, sometimes it’s a private thing. Maybe tease us with a few snippets and when we all go insane and beg you for more, maybe then you’ll be encouraged ;)

Stone Cold

This Bucky x Reader one shot is inspired by Demi Lovato's song, yes. I heard an acoustic version last night and it sounded so raw and so fucking broken. And I saw Black Panther the other day and bruh the end credit. I really like Shuri!! So smart and funny and playful and beautiful!💕

I see people putting up warnings, so i guess beware? Tons of F bomb and feels coming your way? If you are not into sad endings, I could write you up a happy ending. (Seriously, I would. I know what its like)

Welp, here it is! Enjoy my lovelies!

You met his gaze and felt that familiar tug on your chest. You hesitated at first but finally wave at him and smile. He reluctantly smiles back. You recognize the smile, it was one of which he puts on when something's bothering him or if he's just putting up a front.

The plastered smile on your mouth vanishes as a beautiful woman steps in to his arms and plants a chaste kiss on his jawline. Right where he loves it the most. Dazed, he looks away from you and down to her. Then, you feel your heart shatter into millions of pieces as he gave her that look and smile that once belonged to you. You wished you hadn't seen that.

You stiffly turn away, swallowing the forming lump in your throat. Making your way to bar, you feel your face get hot as the throbbing pain on your chest increases.

You sat on one of the bar stools breathing deeply with your head down. 'Anything for you miss?' The bartender asks. And so you begin, ordering till you numb the gaping hole on your chest. You down shots and every known mix of alcohol they have on the selection.

'Maybe you should take it easy?' The bartender asks out of concern. 'You dont have to worry about me. I can hold my own. Now, can I try-' you look down at your phone at your googled drinks must try, 'An appletini' you laugh, cursing the alcohol internally for making it easy for a giggle fest. When the bartenter, whose name was Oliver you now noticed, didnt move an inch to prepare your order. You got up from you seat.

'I'm not fucking drunk, Oliver. Watch.' You say as you walk as elegantly as you can in 5 inch stilettos. You twirl and wink at him as you turned to face him. When he didnt seem convince still, you curse at yourself. 'Motherfucker.'

You look around at the party goers and people dancing around you and yell, 'Oliver here wont give me my fucking appletini because he's worried im drunk! And im not! Now people, can you please give me some space?' People started hooting and cheering, all excited about what you’re going to do.

'Mr. Bartender! Can a drunk person do this?' You started to do a cartwheel and then a backflip on your fucking heels and dress. You land perfectly, proud that despite the alcohol concentration coarsing through your veins, youre still able to pull out a decent flip. Skills. Come. Through!

People cheered and clapped. Someone yelled from the back, 'Give the girl her damn drink!!' You yelled back a thank you as you brush you hair back with your fingers.

You come back to your seat and started sipping at your price. 'Y/n, what's going on?' Tony asks with a toothy grin, looking around anxiously. 'What do you mean? I’m just tryna have fun. Appletini?' You offered and Tony swatted your hand making you spill some of your drink. 'What I mean is, you're not yourself tonight! Causing a scene? doing fucking flips on an Elie Saab dress?! Drinking your face off?!' He gestures at Oliver. 'You there, Oliver! Stop handing her more drinks!' Tony scolds. 'Dont listen to this killjoy, Oli.' You winked at him.

'Y/n, im serious. I will take you home this instant if you wont stop drinking.' Tony says through gritted teeth. All the emotions you have been bottling up rises up to your throat.

'What am I supposed to fucking do Tony? First you ask me to move on and forget about him and i did! I kept my distance from him and everything else. Then you asked me to go out, and party and 'get shitfaced'! And now that I'm actually doing it, you act like you have stick up your ass when in the first place, I'm only doing what you all are asking me to fucking do!' You scream, jabbing a finger at his chest. A few guests turned to look but Sam intervenes, 'Nothing to see here people, move along!' He says while Steve smiles curtly and encourages everyone to help themselves to food and drinks.

Nat and Wanda came at your side and Bruce steps in placing a hand on Tony's chest, asking him to calm down. 'Come on, sweetheart. I'll get you as much drink as you can finish. Back off Tony.' Nat glared as she pulls you with her to an empty table. She hands you a glass of scotch and you down it as Wanda rubs your back soothingly. 'I dont get it. I thought I'm okay now. I thought I had-had let him go. But I still, fuck, it still hurts.' The music was blaring and you werent sure if they even heard you at all.

You wipe away your tears and start feeling your face get numb as the alcohol take its effect. Nat kneels down in front of you with a sad look in her eyes. 'Im not going to be like everybody else and tell you that you should just move on. Hell no. I'm your friend and believe me you deserve to cry this out, get crazy and acknowledge the pain. Because you got fucking hurt! A man you love is here tonight with someone else! If I were in your shoes, I'm probably going ape on them right now!' Nat yells through the music. Throwing her hands in the air in exasperation. You and Wanda laugh at her. You reached forward, hugging both Wanda and Nat. 'Thank God, I have you two.'

Wanda pulls away and puts her forehead against yours and Nat. 'Lets get shitfaced.' She says intently and you burst out laughing.

Time flew by as you, Wanda and Nat drown yourselves in alcohol courtesy of Oliver's fear of Natasha's wrath. You three were laughing and dancing like lunatics on the dance floor and you ladies must look like youre having the time of your lives because even Sharon and Maria abandoned their dates to join your little circle.

'Guys, shit. I gotta sit down. These shoes are killing me!' You made your way back to your table and grab your clutch. You took out your phone and checked the time. Its almost 2am. You look back at the dance floor and saw your friends having the best time. By now the alcohol was burning off of your body from all the sweating and trips to the bathroom. Which reminds you.

After doing your business you went ahead and washed your face and arms. You're still tingling from the alcohol. You thought about sneaking and heading home as you dry yourself with paper towels.

'There, you look decent again. Sort of.' You utter at your reflection. You are reapplying your lipstick when the door opens. Of course, with your luck and fucked fate, it was her.

She froze for a second and recovered with a dazzling smile. Damn, she really is perfect. You thought. You smile back a bit late because she's already beside you. 'Hi.' She says quietly as she washes her hand. 'Princess.' You try to sound as casual as you can but you couldn't recognize your own voice. 'Please call me, Shuri.' She asks, looking at you through the mirror. 'You guys look like you’re having the best time. I wish I had friends like that.' She says as she turns off the sink. 'Oh and you look amazing by the way. Your dress, wow, breathtaking.' She adds and you can actually see that she's sincere about it.

Didn’t she know?

Impossible. Hell, even tabloids made articles about you and Bucky. There's no way. Then again, its not like the Princess of Wakanda listen to gossips or read tabloids.

You snapped out of your reverie and gather your thoughts. Maybe she's just genuinely nice. Bucky wouldn't have liked her if she weren't. Wow Buck, what a catch. You thought, staring at the beautiful woman in front of you.

'Yeah they're a good bunch of people. And they match my crazy. Thank you Princ-Shuri. You too. You look divine. Please excuse me, I need to go.' You smile at her and turn for the door.

'It was nice bumping into you.' She says. 'I hope youre doing fine.' She adds hesitantly as you walk to the door. You turn back to look at her and smile, this time genuinely. Woman to woman, that’s actually a nice thing to say. 'I will be. Thank you, Shuri. Bye.'

You blink as you walk out of the rest room, thinking how easier it would be if the woman Bucky replaced you with wasn't as nice and as perfect as her. You breathe out shakily as you made your way to the exit.

'Y/n' an all too familiar voice called out as you push the elevator button. You turn around and there he was. Dashing and breathtaking as ever. His hair was slicked back but a few strands fall to the side of his face.

'Hey.' You breathed out.

'You heading home already?' He asks, now just a feet away from you.

'Yeah, I think I already hit my threshold for alcohol.' You laugh, still feeling bold and tingly. And sorta numb.

'You’re heading out alone? Are sure? I can drive you.' He offers, already fishing his keys from his pocket. You wave your hand at him as you shake your head.

'No no no, im good. You head back in there and i'll get going. I will be fine. Besides, you dont want to keep you gorgeous date waiting.' You say. The throbbing pain in your chest creeping up on you again.

'Y/n, I can't let you go home alone. At least-' Bucky starts to protest but you dismiss him by placing a hand on his chest. You froze for a second and thought about pulling him to you and kissing him for the last time but you resisted. Your hand turns into a fist at the collar of his tux. 'Im going to be fine, Bucky.' You choke out. He sighs and touched your hand on his chest. You tore away your gaze and pulled your hand just as the elevator dings open.

'Y/n.' he calls after you but you press the elevator button close.

'I’m happy for you.' Or at least you try to be. 'Goodbye, Bucky.' You say as the door closes between you and him.

an unusual shift @ the library

this was a literal gay word dump, short lil crush story from me being in my feels at 2am so, for anyone who reads it, 1. im sorry and 2. dont take it seriously ;)

also my first time writing this type of stuff so sorry abt it hahah

so i work at this library part-time, and it’s another boring fucking day on the shift. i’ve got stuff to do when i get home, too, and just thinking of it hits me right in the chest. i’ve been anxious since i was a kid, so this uneasy feeling isn’t alien to me whatsoever; burden-induced chest pain is practically an involuntary daily routine at this point. basically, life is hard. and i sometimes take short moments -consisting of slow breaths in and out- in an attempt to recollect myself, letting my thoughts run wild and absorb whatever’s happening around me. it slows my heart down a little; soothes a bit of the panging ache in my chest. it helps to be at the library too, since, evidently, people are quiet here, which makes it just a tad bit easier to relax. and of course, i go to columbia university, so the library i work in, Butler library, is lined by the most pristinely gorgeous oak shelves and framed by wide, outstretched windows that have golden light wafting through them at around 4pm during early november; light that falls through the cracks of the wooden tables. i may be a sarcastic bitch ninety-nine percent of the time, but i, like any other respecting human being, can appreciate the antique beauty that Butler brings. so, since it's 3:53 pm, i take a second to admire the little piece of afternoon that tumbles through the library windows - the sun, the light, the silence. but the students are, well, studying, yet somehow their silence is awfully loud. each one is glued to a laptop of some sort, eyes trained on their little retina displays as if their fates are contained within those puny devices, minds continuously inundated with ones and zeros, emails, tasks, numbers, excel spreadsheets, microsoft word documents...

seeing them stressed is just making me more stressed, so i flick off my glasses and rub my eyes, hoping this two-second blackout will bring me solace. but i open my eyes to the taps of gentle footsteps - it’s easy to hear everything in this library because those loud floor planks creak oh-so-goddamn-loudly - and i see a girl, face covered by a book held in both hands, slowly stepping down the aisle. sense and sensibility, jane austen, she appears to be reading. but when she lifts that book away from her face, shit.

she’s blonde. her hair’s straight, but her bangs flow into small waves on either side of her face, blanketing the edges of her cheeks. her nose is small, sharp, angular. her lips curve smoothly underneath her nose; they’re light pink, smooth, and soft, covered daintily with lipstick. her eyes are a statement, reflecting the sunlight of the room; they’re like mirrors of dark amber, surrounded by otherwise softly colored facial features. and she’s in a white, loosely fitted, ruffled blouse and lightly red wool cardigan, heels fitted by small golden platforms, embossed with some calligraphy on the sides - probably some hot new designer’s name i’m not aware of. her skin is fair, yet warm; it glows, immaculately beaten with not a pore in sight. the sunlight falls right on her face at this angle, and she’s radiant; golden but not gilded, angelic but not innocent-looking, humming harmoniously but not noisily (and trust me, that’s difficult to do), and, most notably, the stoic confidence of her gait quietly commands the eyes of everyone in the library right on her. seriously, heads turn when this girl enters the room.

so my question becomes; who the fuck is that, and why haven’t i ever seen her before?

but instead of giving me time to bask in my surprise, she sashays three immediate steps towards my desk, platform heels just barely tapping the planks of the hardwood floor, smirk forming on her lips as she finally leans within inches of my face, tucking a few gleaming strands of hair behind one ear. i smell her perfume; roses, naturally. the fragrance seems to suit her.

and whilst i try to avoid getting lost in those gorgeous, goddamn eyes of hers poring straight into my soul, she finally asks:

“where’s a sudden wild magic?”

“um, to the right of the main aisle. just… take a right and it should be the third shelf on your left.”

she doesn’t giggle. instead, a smile tugs at her lips and she manages to lets out a chuckle. it bounces through her chest, reverberating through the room, creating a rift in the previous stagnance of the library air. she leans back and taps her fingers on my desk, grin still slight on her lips as she looks me up and down quizzically. my heart is fucking hammering in my chest because… well… because.

“thanks. by the way, why haven’t i seen you before?”

“yeah, no problem, and same here. delilah.”

“pretty name.”

and with that, she gracefully whips around, trotting over to where i’d previously directed her, leaving me sitting in a circle of sun rays that smell just a bit sweeter than they had before.

Even though she’s older than me, I want to protect her ohmygod. I love Jess very much. You guys don’t even know. She is very nice. I don’t know how she is able to keep that image tbh. She is also very VERY HARDWORKING. I want to freaking start a petition for Jess to rest. It amazes me how she copes with all this school work and with this blog. And man if you ever need someone to coo about Joshua, Jess is that person. She is so whipped in love with Shua. And with Jun second on her bias list and with Joshua on mine, we both basically die because of Junshua.

Meagan is next!! Meagan is literally the definition of aesthetic . Literally from her fashion style and her freaking bullet journal. And her bias is aesthetic himself asdfghjk. And also her writing style. I adore her writing very much. And I literally asked her for writing advice HAHA. She is a very soft-hearted person. And a very good person to ask advice from. Like I would definitely go to her if I ever have a problem. sHE IS ALSO VERY PRETTY????? LIKE HER INSTAGRAM MAKES ME QUESTION MYSELF. LIKE SHE IS SO DAMN PRETTY I DONT UNDERSTAND HAHA. Also how she is able to converse with everyone amazes me. Overall an amazing older sister for me 💖 I love ya Meagan~

And lastly my fellow youngling Seri. I just want to point this out now. If anyone dares to fight Seri, I’ll be there. This person right here is very precious. And I will fight to keep it at that. You can tell that I love her very much. She is near my age so it’s very comforting for me to have someone close to my age. Also her love for Soonyoung is the cutest thing. Whenever she and Meagan talk bout Soonyoung and being whipped for Soonyoung I just can't. So adorable. She is also very beautiful. He makeup skills are on point. Like please teach me, I'm a potato HAHAH. And can we just talk about how cute her name is? Seri is so goddamn adorable. Just like her.

Amazing that even though we live in different timezones, we will always find time for each other. I love these peeps very much. And I'm thankful for Seventeen for helping me find them.

Admin Meagan: Tbh, when I applied to become an admin for this blog I really didn't think I would actually be picked. But look at me now AHAHAHA. I'm so so glad that I became an admin for this blog because it combines two things I love. Writing and seventeen.

Wow, well I’m speechless, honestly I’m not even sure what to say, so i apologize in advance how unorganized this ESSAY is about to be.

First, i’ve always been curious on writing scenarios like this, and i definitely think I was good enough. So any thoughts of running a blog was like, jumping off a cliff, it was best to keep it out of mind. Me and Jess, met through an online groupchat that I seriously never thought would lead to this. Funny thing, I was on vacation, when I joined, one-two weeks after Jess made the blog. With all of my curiosity of what it was like, I was kind of bored and wanted to give it a shot. Legit I expected like 500 followers after like, a year? NEVER did i think we’d have 2000 after 5 months. like WHAT.

To Seventeen, the talented, amazing dorks, where my vocabulary is not big enough to describe them. aside from the fact I love, adore, and admire them very much, (if i stayed here and talked about they are a team with a lovely team backing them up. CARATSSSSSS ;))) without Seventeen, there would be no blog, and with no blog, i wouldn’t have met the three other amazing admins, other tumblr mutuals, and our amazing readers ^~^ .

Admin Jess: Brace yourselves, I have lots to say😂.

First off, if you had asked me if I had expected to hit 100 followers let alone the 2,000 followers we have now when I first started this, I would have laughed. It is a bit of a crazy number to wrap our heads around, but I’m insanely grateful and I might actually start crying. This whole thing started off as simply a hobby, something I could use to vent my love for the 13 boys that have my heart, but it became so much more after a while. It almost didn’t happen too, just like our beloved soulmate series, everything came down to being in the right place at the right time and having everything line up perfectly before the hard work and passion kicked in haha. I’ll state my thanks here so that I can get it out in words rather than tears. I won’t get too much into how when I started this blog with Seri, I was not in a very happy place. But that’s not the important part. The thing is I met incredible people through this blog and learned many things. I learned how to not let every criticism and mean comment get to me, and rather to learn to grow and try to do the best I can. Nothing brightens my day more than hearing I made people smile, there’s nothing else I’d rather do with my time:) ahem now for my thanks (and yes I’m going to thank Seventeen bc I’m hella extra)

Seventeen have made me v v happy and continue to do so to this day. While I may declare my love and hatred (jokingly) and say I’m unstanning, I really love all 13 boys with all my heart. All the admin have talked about it, but when we’re writing for them or answering asks, they don’t seem like just idols to us. They’re friends who love each other, real genuine people who are beautiful inside and out. I’d like to thank them for just being them, for bringing a smile to my face whenever I feel down. Honestly so sappy and cringe but true nevertheless. I love Svt a whole lot <3

Joshua, EXCUSE ME AS I GET HELLA EMOTIONAL I CAN’T JUST WRITE TWO SENTENCES ABOUT THIS GUY;&:9;$2. So I’ll try to keep it short. Joshua, I am the most grateful to him for his undying love for his friends, for his hard work at always being the best person possible, and for genuinely making me smile. He’s the kind of person I want to be, someone who is kind-hearted and tries his very best at everything he does and ilhssm.

I can feel myself tearing up woohee this is going great. I’d like to thank the many internet friends and mutuals I met, through this blog. Initially I had simply wanted people to fangirl with svt about and I got so so much more. There is a moment I remember distinctly 2 weeks ago, I had been really stressed about my slew of tests and I had maybe gotten 20 hours of sleep in the entire week and had told my friends in real life but also my internet friends (you know who you are and ily) and I was bombarded with messages of support from everyone in the morning and I dead af kid you not sat and cried because how did I deserve such amazing support and friends. People who had never seen me before were genuinely concerned about my health and mentality and nothing nothing made me cry more than just the sheer amount of support I got. I had mentioned in our admin chat how I regretted not doing enough due to exams and my bb’s legit were screaming at me to sleep and that it’s ok and everything will be ok if I didn’t answer everything right away and just focused on me and it’s prob one of the moments in my life that I felt the most support and love ever. and so that takes me to my few final thanks….

Soph, okie hands down my favorite Jun stan I’m sorry everyone, I love Soph lots omfg. She’s so talented!!! I’m living for the day where she kills me with her dancing just as Junhui does to all of us, I can’t imagine how hard it must be to learn svt and bts choreo and run this blog lmao. Soph, I love how you hype Josh with me and how we all suffer together when we send svt pictures and honestly thank you thank you thank you so so much for being not only an admin but a valuable friend.

Meagan, I can always count on her to send me pictures of Joshua on Instagram and I love her lots too. I love how despite living 16 hours apart, we can still have conversations about boy drama (no not svt lmao svt wouldn’t do us dirty like boys irl) and fangirl about Josh and svt and just everything. She’s incredibly talented too, her writing and she’s so pretty I die. Meagan, I love how I can say something and count on you to talk about it, it’s beautiful and fun, thank you so so much admin and friend.

And finally, I’d like to thank Seri. Seri has been with me on this rollercoaster of a ride since the very beginning. I found it incredible how the two of us just *clicked* ya know? She’s the type of friend who says one thing and two hours later, she and I are both dying from laughter on the ground in stitches. I’ve never genuinely laughed more than some convos I’ve had with her. I’m also surprised she has yet to hear me screaming at her from across the country, I’m pretty sure I’m loud enough that she could hear me. She’ll prob forever be my aegi whether she likes it or not and while I honestly don’t know how much longer I’ll stan svt, I do hope that our friendship can far outlast our time together here on the blog (plus I swear imma buy her plane tickets somehow so we can go to an svt concert together or disneyland before I die). I’ve ranted to her lots and I complain to her lots but she never tells me I’m annoying and for that, I’m also thankful XD. I think I have learned quite a lot from her, including how to have thicker skin and I love her so so so much. Seri, thank you for everything lovely, let’s continue growing as friends and people together ^~^

Final remarks, I think what has always drawn me to svt is just the sheer comradery and love they have for each other. It’s undeniable they’re family to one another. I had always been somewhat jealous of their adorable friendships and funny chemistry. But as I look back on it now, I found my own sort of svt, in the people, friends, and stories I interact with everyday here, and for that I can only say thank you.

so something (refer to the song he said suits myday) happened with jae recently and ive seen fans trying to defend him by @ing him and saying that they love him which is fine - great even! but what i dont approve is how everyone’s basically forgotten about the whole matter because they had concerts so instead of @-ing him and asking him to explain himself, they tell him what a great concert it was which is also great bc their concerts are honestly amazing. basically my pet peeve is when ppl dismiss the problematic action of some people just bc they like them.

another thing is that there were some fans who started guilting others for wanting to drop day6 completely because of what jae did and in my opinion i think it is totally cool to want to drop a group if they did smth bad like??? its ur life???? u can choose who you want to like. what is not cool is pulling out all the good things the person has ever done in their entire life and try to remind others about the positive sides of the person. yes. they’re an encouraging person, etc. but that does not cancel out the bad things they’ve done until they explain/apologise. what is infuriating is just the manner some people took it?? they literally went ahead and tweeted shit like “would your parents drop you if you did smth wrong?” and “you’re seriously gonna drop someone whos been nothing been nice because of one incident?” yes. people will and you dont have any fucking right to stop them? so dont go pulling out receipts.

another thing. its also okay to want to stan the whole group even if someone has done smth problematic. like? to me youre cool if youre able to see and acknowledge the bad shit someone has done and still stand by their side while educating them at the same time its nice to have faith in your idols. however, i wont say much when your idols dont respond and/or respond in a way that shows absolutely no remorse. its cool if you want to support them too, despite that.

tldr; dont fucking excuse someone’s behaviour/action just because youre so far up their fucking ass. dont pull out shit from before either, be it good or bad. and lastly, its okay to want to drop/continue supporting them, its your life.

i just wanted to talk about this tbh,, it was nice to see a few mydays trying to urge jae to explain the whole situation but seeing as he still hasnt and couldve it really irks me :-/

they’re super nice, kind and just all of the positive adjectives out there in the dictionary ...... they’ve helped me multiple times and they’re always there 2 lend me a listening ear (or in our case, eye lmao) idk??? im just super comfortable around them always and im honestly so thankful we became mutuals (and subsequently friends) last year!!!! i cant say a lot bc ill just get v repetitive but overall they’re an awesome friend and im glad we still communicate daily via twitter and sometimes our skype sessions even if they’re kinda awkward bc i never know when 2 talk bc im scared ill speak and theyll say smth and itll turn into a MESS which actually happened lmao
