My sudden onset and inexplicable obsession with genbu in the past year is really fun because I'm developing a lot of tuning skills that apply to literally no other voicebank and will never apply to any others again
#JK jk jk i think some could help with some utau powerscale-y banks maybe#maybe if i use a resampler with a tension curve or something#but its so funny. hes such a weird voicebank#nothing ive seen before in any other commercial concatenative bank. whats going on with him#but any tunung skills i get from him are useless with current ai banks LOL#but thats because i find with ai banks you really gotta exaggerate and draw some crazy lines#with benby you gotta focus primarily on the transitions and vowel endings i find with pitch bends#with like asterian i need to just start scribbling. his vibratos sound fantastic handdrawn too#and rikka i find i need to be suuuuuuper subtle with vibrato on her#i do kinda tune every voice bank differently in general though so i guess its fine that im learning no transferable skills LOL#now using bebbengy does make me forget to use special phonemes which is one bad habit hes taught me <3#sorry that my ai banks never breath. i forget br exists sometimes#and dont get me started on how much i neglect end breaths and glottal stops in utau banks#i need to start remembering. i need to put like a readme file in all my utau voicebanks that shows their special phonemes#and open it any time i use them LOL my current method of just trying to vaguely remember is not. effective <3

Drank a red bull in an attempt to hype myself up to finish my current drawing but then decided I didn't want to, so now I'm caffeinated at 5 am for no reason 馃槶

i love art, im very grateful for adderall for gifting me with the executive function, ease of prioritization, and clearness of thought <3
#seriously a blessing in my burnout recovery#i think i had 2 burnouts really#1st when i was 12 i burnt out academically#and fell into other hyperfixations like homestuck and anime#n cartoons also socially burnt after my friends got annoyed w myhyperfixes but got close w my husband which helped/distracted from burnout#then i did again injjjjunior year i would say#i was burnt out creatively and socially and i hated band for the first time and i met my first AP class that i couldnt just coast through#because we had to do checked notes and DAMN im grateful for that teacher!!!!!!!!!!!#genuinely led to me learning how to take notes on text when i never had to before#but i literally cried. because spent HOURSSS the first few times trying to do my notes before a classmate told me theres a website that#summarized the book#which helped a lot#but it was the first time since suspecting i have Something other than depression/anxiety that i was SURE i had adhd#it kinda just clicked so i got on a nonstimulant that helped a bit but had shitty physical symptoms that got worse as i got older#i was on it forrrr like 2 or 3 years before i stopped taking it#but i also got on a 504 which gave me deadline flexibility which like#great yknow finishing out junior and senior year medicated woo#but senior year last semester i had terrible senioritis lol#which i now realize was that 2nd burnout#and literally from march 2020 to the end 2022 i barely talked to anyone or engaged on any level with most people other than smoking weed#and being a therapist#and my beautiful wonderful husband ofc but we kinda enabled each other lmao#but yknow that gap of time when my locale cared about covid and stuff was just not going on i really recovered#i didnt draw much or do much hobbywise#i did probably too much weed and not too much but Quite a Damn Lot of acid#(which.. idk who follows me now... but acid isnt a evil scary drug it is not physically harmful and wholly dependent on mindset)#and i worked a lot#but... i quit my job at the end of 2022. which kinda directly correlates with me reconnecting with my friend group#and reconnecting with them... i decided to go back to college#re realized the path for my passion for psychology lies in academia and i LIKE that

okay so i did basically 4.5 years of design school to become an industrial designer which is just a fancy degree word for "I make consumer products and curate user experiences" or whatever
ANYWAY I'm staring at the sketch of L's bong and I know, I KNOW, so deeply it would be productive to sketch up more concepts and brain storm like I was schooled to, but my burn out brain is like >:(((((( NO BRAIN STORM. NO CONCEPTUALIZE. ONLY SKETCH!!

when i first started drawing, i did it for fun and just for myself, but recently i feel like ive been drawing much more to impress?? i guess >> to impress who, idk, but it makes me not enjoy drawing as much xd i rlly need to get back to drawing for fun and not worry so much about what people think of it ^^

i dont really understand how to use kire/powerscale style voicebanks in utau but the more i use genbu the more i feel a little sad that synthv doesnt do standard banks anymore because i really think sv's tension parameter curves do wonderful things with this type of voicebank. a lot of power built in that you can then pull back carefully, like how i like my watercolour paint pigments to have really vibrant saturation right out of the tube so i can pull it back manually when i need to. and to say nothing of the fun bonus soft/falsetto phoneme groups even though i always forget to use them
#they straight up dont use that function anymore. that dropdown menu is an artefact of a different time (four years ago)#is genbu the only one with those special phonemes. i assume other standards have the same thing where you can switch the pitch groups#like if you want a higher pitched phoneme to be sung in a low note. but does anyone else have the mysterious bonus soft and falsetto groups#actually i do use the falsetto occasionally when messing with high notes. i forget about the soft one though i try using it sometime#anyway. i wish more utau resamplers had tension curve parameters or something of its ilk#maybe then i would learn how to use kire banks. but right now i am le scared#sorry im always jacking off the tension parameter. i will not stop <3#LISTEN.... gives you a nice sort of elegant expression if u draw the right curve. very ballady#and in general sv's standard banks were doing wonderful things with concatenative#we bully them now but i loved their sound waaaaay more than voc of loid at the time#like pre ai voicebanks. when i first heard genbu i thought he was the most realistic masc voice id ever heard#i couldnt get sv editor to run on my computer at the time though <3 but those voicebanks were CLEAN#or moreso they had a nice clarity and their breathy noise was less intrusive. lot of potential they had
