I find it funny that Wild, who has basically a couple years ish of full life experience, comes up with the most insane theories for everything

He assumed that the only other explanation to Four being able to split in Four was. That he was quadruplets who'd been hiding this whole time???

Also apparently he believed that his wolf companion Twilight in botw was a diety (and felt very uhh shocked upon finding out that he was not)

Malon made things worse, telling him about her aliens theory

What's even FUNNIER is that every time Wild expresses any sort of confusion at magic stuff that he's never seen before, everyone else in the chain acts like it's crazy for him to be weirded out by it

Honestly maybe Wild's the only one with his head on straight, rather than everyone else who are just like 'it's magic bro' like no he's right this is weird

I appreciate this because it's very considerate of the fact that he woke up with no memories not too long ago, so he doesn't have much experience to explain the stuff that's 'normal' for the chain. Plus the explanations he comes up with are funny.

kind of expected that the ability breakdown wouldnt get that much traction (especially on twitter bc if it doesnt do well in the first few hours it might as well be dead) but what i didnt need to wake up to was looking at my twitter notifications and thinking there was a long comment on it at first but then i read it and it turned out to be some guy having dug up one of my old totk tweets where i talked about how zelda was treated-

and if a quote retweet with a thread attached already starts with "this entitled brat didnt understand that zelda was being a history nerd by being in the past and getting to experience it herself" with two screenshots attached of the end of totk with zelda staring at the cam all uwu (which has ??? to do with their point??) i dont even want to know what else was in that thread

if thats how the majority of the fandom is then im even less surprised that nintendy doesnt even have to try to write anything good :I

They were all crowded on the living room floor to count their candy stashes. Cushions and pillows from all the couches and beds were piled in a wide circle, leaving the middle of the room clear for candy counting.

Four, Hyrule, and Sky finished their counts first. They leaned back looking very smug.

Time, Warriors, and Wind finished next. Time and Warriors both had a small frown as they glanced between Four's pile and theirs. Wind was already eating a candy bar, but he left his wrapper on the pile to be counted.

Legend finished counting his stash, then moved on to helping Twilight count Wild's. Legend moved the last piece into the counted pile, then he leaned in to whisper with Twilight.

"Ready?" Wind asked, bouncing in his seat.

"294," Legend said.

"Damn," Time sighed. "203."

Legend laughed. "203? That's weak."

Time huffed. "There's a bit of an age difference in our groups."

"Sure, old man. Whatever you say."

"Are you done?" Four asked smugly. All eyes went to him. "Who wants the honors?"

Legend started to look nervous.

"It was your master plan, smithy. You take it," Sky said. Hyrule nodded his agreement and scooted forward on his cushion in excitement.

Four grinned, leaned forward, and looked Legend in the eye. "426."

Shouts erupted. Screams of protest as Legend, Wind, and Warriors leapt from their cushions, howls of laughter as Sky, Four, and Hyrule leaned back to let them count. As Twilight leaned forward to watch, Hyrule leaned over and swiped his favorite candy bar from Twilight's pile. Sky winked at him.

Four's group's pile was so clearly larger than the others, so they gave up and sulked back to their cushions soon enough. As Legend sat down, Twilight patted his shoulder consolingly.

"It's okay, Legend." Then, Twilight smirked at Warriors. "At least we didn't lose so horribly that it's embarrassing."

Warriors gasped in affront. Wind yelled "Hey!" It was muffled by the candy in his mouth, but the effect was the same.

"He spent too much time flirting about his costume," Time said. "Only hit seven houses."

"Traitor!!!!!" Warriors yelled. Twilight howled in laughter, rolling off his cushion and onto the floor.

"Oh, that's it." Warriors kicked off his heels and dove, tackling Twilight in a roll. Twilight's laughter didn't cease as the two flailed on the floor, limbs and costumes flying.

bad news on the keyboard install front, looking more complicated than I first thought.

About as involved as replacing the palmrest on the last laptop and while that worked out fine the technology in here looks flimsier for lack of a better word.

I'll just take it somewhere to get it replaced eventually, at least I wont have to wait on the part....

sonic prime's existence has made me think about multiverse settings and au's in general in an effort to break down why i don't really care about most of them. like i think i understand the appeal in them and how they offer infinite possibilities, so all the funny little coffeeshop au's and things have now canon validity or something like that, and it's fun to see redesigns of established characters, or have the blorbos put in different settings like a science experiment to see how they adapt and grow. but i feel like the more you detach them from the original premise and setting the more they start losing their charm, or start turning into a generic mush that doesn't have flavor outside of like "what if they were X", and i guess it has enjoyable qualities but idk if it has lasting beyond being a fun thought exercise or a redesign prompt. cyberpunk dystopias and pirates and whatever else prime's got going on i haven't watched it can work as settings just fine, but if all you have is aesthetics there's nothing to really grab my interest beyond "oh cool they got robot parts :)" and "oh cool they have funny hats :)", which is fine but just. not very interesting. and i think that's the core of the problem

tbf i don't know how prime specifically is handling the multiverse stuff, for all i know they're doing a perfectly serviceable job and obviously a ton of people are finding it fun and enjoyable and full of character analysis moments too, but ngl it is such a hurdle for me when it comes to even considering watching a whole series centered around alternate universe things
