okay massive loredump incoming so im terribly sorry if none of this makes sense lol

to understand valkyrie's dynamic in the most basic way possible, shu is an incredibly talented artist who might seem extremely standoffish and cold while also being very short tempered (especially during the earlier stories) but he is very tender to those who cares about. throughout his entire arc though he learns how to express those feelings better so its really sweet to see ^-^ he really loves antique dolls and admires any type of art form really. and hes a very big croissant enjoyer. currently in the story hes studying in france. and i dont care if its only like a silly gag in the game but you have to take shu having DID out of my cold dead hands. he sometimes speaks through the doll his grandfather gave him, mademoiselle.

and mika is, for a lack of a better word his biggest fan(tm). type of guy that would defend anything shu does on twitter lmao. but before getting into their relationship!! i need to gush about my silly first. mika is an orphan who ends up at yumenosaki because he remembers meeting shu when they were both kids and seeing shu perform once. and was like. "hey. i want to be next to him" and somehow??? got in???? but anyway. hes a very sweet guy but might sometimes come off as a bit of an airhead. doesnt help w the fact that he keeps saying hes dumb while that not being the case at all. he really likes plushies :3 he frequently picks up abandoned plushies and clothes from the trash to fix them up and everything. he also has a bit of a sweet tooth lol. but he prefers cheaper candy or sweets that are a little flawed like a cake thats slightly burnt and whatnot because he says that the nice ones make him sick.

oh wow this is already so long im SORRY but getting into them together, their entire arc is them growing and learning and trying to become the best versions of themselves as partners.

during ! era, the earlier batch of stories, when mika first joins valkyrie his relationship with shu is really not healthy at all. people still call them a proship sometimes because they will just ignore any development they had 💀 this was the time that mika was incredibly devoted to shu and very dependent on him. that his only purpose was to be shu's doll for him to control and lead him because he couldnt be trusted with himself or whatever. this being paired with shu's perfectionism resulted in this dynamic of a puppeteer and his puppet, basically. i will probably get to the war in another ask if you want me to bc. i feel like im rambling on too much nfmfnf <.< but after the events of the war their dynamic starts changing with time, in the later ! stories a few of them shows this switch to emphasizing mika needing to become his own person, and to live as a human instead of mindlessly following what shu says him to do. when we get to the !! era how much they've both grown is way more visible, by now shu has moved to france but visits japan frequently for valkyrie's activities or other things. shu cannot shut up about being partners in art with mika and is really proud of how far he has come. mika on the other hand, he really starts pushing for his own artistic taste more and also!! he calls shu out on his bullshit sometimes its really fun to read.

and if you want more tragic yaoi, id recommend listening to acanthe first and the lyrics then going onto le temps des fleurs, both have insane stories in the game accompanying the songs but i will . stop myself for now. all i will say is that the outfits in le temps des fleurs, half of it is supposed to be the groom while the other is the bride, so yeah theyre married to me now.

I love his mind

exhibit B: the most recent example and something that had me crawling up the walls. i'm not saying he faked it or that he planned to fall asleep on purpose during a livestream, i completely believe baekhyun is careless and overworked enough to do that. what makes me scream into a pillow is the way he was UNFAZED by that shit when he woke up. had his manager blowing up his phone asking him to wake up and +40k people hearing him moan in his sleep and he woke up and stayed in the livestream. Hey, no worries! Rant away! It's a very strange enigma for sure, and the fandon does indeed act like a cult! My guess for how Viv keeps getting away with all this stuff is that she has a parasocial relationship with her fanbase. The idea of landing a job or getting close with a creator with such a large following overrides any sense of reason or care for her actions, so people keep gassing her up because it could likely lead her to like or comment on their stuff. There's also the pseudo kind act she puts on, so people think she's the sweetest person ever when she has showcased the opposite. There's also a loooot of fandom bullying. Lots of the big dogs in the fandom bully people into silence or make em think they're in the wrong.

There's a WHOLE lot of control going on here, and thanks to her ass kissers logic is thrown out the window. Finally, there were the overblown posts highlighting things that, while weird or gross, aren't "cancelable" enough or downright exaggerations of the truth or lies. These threads on Twitter, especially back in 2019, did more harm than good and led many into believing there was a mob that simply wanted to cancel her for being popular. The threads consisted of her old cringe art (some are very questionable don't get me wrong) rather than the ones where she encouraged fandom bullying and made fun of a 15 year old fan for simply being critical of her work and called them nasty for it. No one did any research on her behavior or how she was an absolute bully to people like Starvader. Callouts need to consist of hard evidence so stuff like this doesn't happen, where your callout does more harm than good.

These factors led to many straight up turning off their brains and blatantly ignoring hard evidence. It's very, very stupid.

SO Yamikumo (Deku)

He's like everything Deku is not, i see him as a coward because in the oneshot "Black Milk" one of Hori's friends did where they used this design to make a bad guy once he saw that he was losing after he threw a car off a highway he tried to run and became afraid

I think despite being a coward is personality is that of - if he's helping so one he's also ridiculing them for being too weak to do it themself yet he's here! standing up and helping them, that kind of personality cause in that post it explains that Bakugo nicknames him Yamikumo for being reckless, i like to imagine he says he doesn't want to help but he does it anyway/ends up helping people cause he can't stand the sight of someone in danger so Bakugo calls him reckless cause he always jumps in without a plan a opposite to Deku almost cause Deku does think things through sometimes but Deku is reckless Yamikumo is reckless in almost the same way.

LETS talk about Bakugo now,

So his name is Gougou in the prototype, Bakugo Gougou, the way it explains his personality sounds to me almost like Senku and that's insane to me, the dynamic between Bakugo and Deku is so different like "natural born genius who inadvertently insults people" he's proud about his intelligence and he can back it up he isn't being rude from his perspective

Iida i think from these sketches he looks like flaunts how rich he is with the expensive looking watch on his arm but he's a bad boy? look at that wild hair and that hair growing on his chin, he's an upstart, he's arrogant he and Kirishima might clash alot be those two boys who're always fighting in class he's Kirishima's rival sort of? or maybe just a guy he doesn't like. im still here because, despite all its issues, i adore sanders sides. i still am thinking abt this series constantly. i am still analysing it. despite its newer, terrible writing & mischaracterisation of the characters, i am still watching. despite thomas being the most annoying creator ive ever had 2 witness, i still watch his content. because i still like him and what he makes. because i cant ignore how genuinely happy i get when i watcb his videos. i hate this fucking fandom but i am still here because when i see fans make dumbass theories & new fans come up w/ the same analyses we had as older fans, i am Happy. i think its genuinely such a beautiful thing 2 c how ppl analyse this series.

i am being attacked for being a ""violent"" person by yt remus fans, while i watch my white mutuals and friends say the same things i do. i am watching my mutuals & friends be friends with the ppl who have said these things about me. i cant interact w/ half of this fandoms content. i am still seeing rampant racism and transphobia and queerphobia within this fandom. i have so many "popular" mutuals & friends who agree w/ my takes & opinions but dont express it because they feel like they cant.

obviously a lot of this is bcuz i have been super mentally ill & suicidal for the past (checks watch) 5 months. which is not a fandom thing, its an irl thing. i moved out of my parents house secretly 2 get away from the abuse i was experiencing. i have to share a room & (help) take care of a child every other week. i go to work as a cashier, a job i did not want but was moved 2, every week & i still dont have fucking money. i am so overwhelmed & stressed out of my goddamn mind.

new hbomb video was great and also kinda devastating.

really appreciate the callout for people who launder their misogyny by saying 'white women' or 'straight women' when they really just mean 'Women'. i see so much of that lately, gross. also the overuse of broader terms like queer or lgbt when you specifically mean like, transmasc or asexual or whatever. sneaky sort of erasure i hadn't really thought much about. worth asking why you feel the need to flatten down the nuance of those specific experiences. that said, i kinda feel grossed out by the reception i've seen to this. the video was thoughtful and pointed. this situation would not have resolved itself without a wake up call like this, real harm was being done, and its obvious a lot of care went into exactly how it was framed and what was asked of its viewers. but i still see a lot of 'lol epic hbomb has destroyed another career' or 'omg i always got bad vibes from this dude i feel so vindicated!' and its just kinda nasty. i absolutely understand why hbomb might have felt conflicted about releasing this video. the thirst for drama people have is kinda nasty, and the delight people take in seeing someone have their web of lies brought down hits a bit different here than last time, even if it needed to happen. i just really do not vibe with the whole 'thank god i always hated this guy, finally im justified lol'. something victim blamey about it towards the people that did get deceived, and i think its just setting yourself up for getting grifted next time. you are not as good a judge of character as you think you are. have some humility.

anyway. i searched every mention of “thom yorke” and “radiohead” on datalounge - heeding interesting results. “interesting” meaning there werent quite many and there was a large discrepancy in attitudes. Photographed below:

I did find a thread where a couple guys confirmed their lust. and some guy fought the original guy in the comments because he started the conversation by declaring pansexuality and the second guy was calling it unnecessary for him to say his sexuality and then added that he finds ed and jonny the hottest. another guy said hes talked about how hot thom is almost every day for the past 5 years (Unphotographed. just believe in me.).

i stopped this search and instead found slideshow videos of thom on youtube. by “videos” i mean a couple as there are not many in the slightest from the time period the artform naturally occurred in (2000s-2012 maximum). But.. some guy decided to honor what was lost and has been making a couple since a year ago. a very honorable mission.. fell in love for a moments time but he has a twitter. and is saturating the fanfiction market with thom x reader mpreg and breastfeeding and the like (more points for love_but i cannot compete with that). if you are that guy and find this tumblr post i have no apology for you, but a clarification that this just happens in small moments naturally and all should be in love with the world. and its basically the same as when i had gotten the fabric to make a plush of a modified bear and the fabric cutting guy at joanns asked me more about it and it made me blush lots for 1 day then it all returned to the earth. it keeps going and we all keep experiencing each other in this world and getting whatever consequences out of it. something like that...

In my research i had also found out about reported “Bootlegs” that have popped up at multiple thrift shops and are officially recognized on the internet (discogs) like “Ground Control To Major Thom”. I have also fallen deeply for this. If anyone could get their hands on a copy of this id give any thing i can in return for ever.

A day has passed since the announcement and i just feel like i wanted to organize my thoughts, as bilingual person, about the unite dsmp.

Ignoring the fact that haters exist and there is nothing we can do about, the United smp is still a tricky situation. Because no one is going to argue that including more communities into the spotlight is a bad thing. As a bilingual i celebrate it. However the main reason why this whole situation feels weird is the timing. And no, with this I dont mean Dream actually created and implemented the codes in 2 weeks. Thats impossible. There is no way he saw the qsmp and said "Omg im gonna copy his idea!". That's simply not humanly possible.

But the timing of the announcement is bad timing. With Q server just having started 2 weeks ago, he already announced something like this? Im not gonna sit here and say he is a malicious person who planned it all along because he is jealous like half twitter is saying, because i don't know the guy, for all i know he just didn't thought too much about it and thats all. And that's fine, he can be a cool person and still choose the wrong moment to announce a project. Whatever it is, Im talking about the timing, not about dream as a person. Q has taken 2 years of his life immersing himself in a different community that now he can call his own. Its just bad timing to choose to make the announcement now, just when Q passion project, that he has been preparing for years, launched.

Aside from the timing, I have a personal appreciation of the united smp, so I wouldn't call it a critique perse because this might be just me: The live translation takes aways the fun from the learning experience. I feel this post can explain a little better my thoughts froma linguistic point of view. (It is a little aggressive at the beginning not gonna lie, but they explained brilliantly in the last reblog my feelings about the live translator). But basically, i would argue that it isnt the same as watching a netflix movie with subtitles. Because these one are gonna have mistakes in the translation, but that's fine, right? it would be fun! However, after the amusement of the novelty it gonna get tiresome trying to compute what you understand and what you are reading, all while trying to decipher which words are correctly translated and which one are not. It doesn't seem like is gonna be very organic, and yes, i watched Dreams latest video. That was the fun part, but i'm just saying that i still dont see it as a tool to implement in a smp. Not to mention that 60 people is a lot for a project like this (Especially if every language is gonna have a ranking? whats that about?)

And my last thought have nothing to do with Dream, but with the community: I'm just upset at how after Quackity decided to take a leap and risk everything by starting to stream in spanish until creating a whole community was just considered as something "Great!" o "Cool!". Im tired about how when Spreen invited Karl to his stream a bunch of views didn't even show up, didnt hype it up, didnt care that much. It's just bothersome how when Rubius invented english speakers to the squid craft its was "amazing!!" (And dont even let me start talking about twitch screwing over the event) but when a monolingual person from USA does it suddenly is groundbreaking, suddenly he is changing everything.Me and the rest of the hispanic community have seen time after time how twitch screw us over, choosing the english community over us in a heart beat. So it's kind discorging not to see more praises to the hispanic community, because witouth our creators this wouldnt be happeneing in the first place.

So yeah… those are my closing thoughts.

I'm trying to move on from her but it's really hard, i messaged some people but even on the first one i was shaking over the send button, because i don't want to move on, i want to wait for her to reply, i want to be with her, no matter how hard she ghosts me, but yeah i still sent some messages, 3 from reddit and 2 on chaster, no replies yet but its not really looking great

its so frustrating to browse through chaster as well, i was looking for some locks with interactions and theres so many people there that are findoms, fucking hate that shit, just want to have an actual relationship not talking to someone that treats this as her job, but considering the ratio of sub guys and dom women its kind of inevitable, just browsing through personal subreddits that shit becomes so clear, a shit ton of M4F posts with no upvotes and the few F4M ones all have at least a couple of upvotes, which is also what made me really like her in the first place, she picked my shitty 6 line introduction over the 10 paragraph essays of the charming princes, maybe she liked how im a person of few words or just how even in introductory text im a shy mess, but i guess after meeting me she changed her mind..

Still waiting for her to start a conversation, literally anything even just a hi just showing that she cares about me but i guess thats asking too much, conversation hasnt progressed after she said she was moving and her twitter still doesnt have anything besides her first tweet so i cant stalk her from there either. since i literally just rbed something about this, im just going to copy/paste my rb and add onto it a little.

I don't care that they arent "blood-related". They were fucking raised as brothers, treated like brothers, and think of each other as brothers. No matter how hard you try to spin it, no matter how hard you argue that they arent technically related, you have to understand that they see and think of each other as brothers, which should be enough to make this incest.

this show was amazing when it came to family dynamics and brotherly love/trust/bonds. i can say with confidence that the brothers in Rise are much more brotherly/closer than any other previous versions. it's obvious to see that they love and care and want to protect one another. to turn platonic and love for one's family into something so gross and vile is taking all of the healthy emotional bonds between these characters and throwing it out the window.

i cant fuckung believe i have to say this every time i come back into the tmnt fandom, but-

sure, with the recent Rise movie we saw an adult leo, but heres the thing- that version of leo is fucking dead. he literally got fucking beamed out of existence.

"Darling! C'mere!" You heard Jack yell from his recording room. You were currently curled up on the couch scrolling through twitter. The trending page had "JACK" and "TRY NOT TO LAUGH" on the top. The tweets under the trending topics was filled with comments about Jack's stream and other streams happening.

You had heard him laughing and yelling in his recording room before. To be completely honest you dont know why he invited you over his house in the first place. You showed up at his house wanting to just relax and have a fun time with Jack, but after a couple minutes he had told you he had a stream already scheduled today and left to you to your own devices.

Thats how ended up on the couch looking at tweets that talked about your boyfriends stream.

You lazily rolled off the couch and onto your feet. You had the fluffy socks Jack had gotton you as a small gift. You both ended up getting the same socks and slipped around the house because of the hardwood floor. It was a fun activity until you were both mimicking ballroom dancing untill you both slipped and fell on the hardwood floor. It was a small moment but then after you both were more careful around his house.

Opening the door to his recording office you peaked your head inside now knowing if he wanted you completely inside or just wanted to quickly tell you something. The door was in frame when he streams so you couldn't be discreet.

"Hey-"

"Hey! Y/N! Guys it's Y/N!" Jack exclaimed showing you off to the stream. "Come over here love." He waved you over while rolling his identical gaming chair for you to sit on.

You smiled and made your way over to sit beside him in the broken chair.

"Why'd you give me the broken chair this time?" You smiled as you questioned him.

"I mean they are identical, no one would've noticed."

"We'll you told everyone who sat in it that it was broken." You said matter of factly.

"Do you want to sit in this one?" Jack asked pointing to the chair underneath him.

"Yeah I do." You said while putting your hands together in a prayer position. "You wanna switch with me?"

"No, not really Im quite comfortable in my own chair love." Jack said with a smirk leaning back in his chair.

"You sure?"

"Yeah pretty much." Jack's smile widened as he saw your frustration grow.

"Dickhead." You said under your breath.

Jack started to laugh. "What did you say?" He swiveled his chair to face you.

"Nothing. You're hearing things." You smirked.

Meanwhile the chat was freaking out about your interactions. You werent a stranger to Jack's fanbase. A year ago you were just Jack's roommate, but then he slowly introduced you as his significant other. He started flirting with you on stream and on twitter, then after a couple months of that he titled a stream "MEET MY S/O!!!". It was weird for you to be on stream for the first time, but you became accustomed to it.

"What did you want me to do again?" You asked. Jack probably forgot the reason he called you in there in the first place.

"Oh yeah! I wanted to do a stream with you! A you laugh the stream ends type thing. Also the chat was asking for you, they missed you apparently."

"Oh of course they did, I think they love me more than you."

"Yeah I think so! And its not right!" Jack exclaimed and you laughed along with him.

"I think we already lost the challenge, cause we've been laughing for a while haven't we?" You brought up.

"Well the challenge hasn't started. And if we laugh you have to get bonked in the bead with this pillow." Jack had gotton up and walked around the room searching for something to become a punishment. "We have 3 lives each and if we use up all of our lives the stream ends."

"And I have you all to myself?" You asked slightly serious. You still were irked because of tbe fact he invited you over and left you, I mean you are here now next to him, but you wanted time without a camera and monitors in your face.

"Yeah love, of course. But you have to laugh!" Jack exclaimed.

Thinking about the situation, you wanted to laugh and lose all your lives on purpose so you two could have alone time together.

"Fine let's go!"

"Alright then!"

"You suck at this game dont ya?" Jack laughed as mutiple short videos from fans kept popping up on the screen. "You have one more life and I only have two."

It was 30 minutes into the stream and youve been hit with the pillow on Jack's lap more times than you could count, at least that what it felt like. You were on your last life and actually trying to stay in the game after realizing how much fun this was. Maybe you were being selfish, because you were right next to him doing things that you two were going to do alone.

"You have no sense of humor babe." You replied back.

"I do have a sense of humor! I could say my sense of humor is broken even."

"Well mine is too when we compare how many lives we have left."

"Good point."

"YOU LAUGHED!" You stood up confronting him trying to pry the pillow out of his hands to hit him with.

"NO! I did not! Let go!" Jack said still sitting down struggling to keep a good grip on the pillow. You successfully took the pillow out of his hands and started repeatedly hitting him with it as he tried to shield himself.

"Augh! Stop!"

"He laughed! He laughed, you guys saw that right?" You bent down into frame reading the chat while they spammed "YES" and "HIT HIM"

"See, they agree with me Manifold." You said confidently.

"They're just want to see me lose. I'm too powerful." He shrugged.

"Anways! 1 to 1! Loser!" You hit him with the pillow again.

"Stop!"

The stream continued on and the both of you were begging eachother to keep your one lives that you both had left. Everytime you snickered a bit Jack would catch it and vice versa. The stream went on longer than Jack planned, but it seemed like he was having fun. Finally after an hour of streaming and bickering between you both You ended up laughing at this stupid vine from long ago.

"YOU LAUGHED I WON!" Jack threw his hands up in victory. "Holy shit we can end the stream, this took forever."

"You wanna end the stream?" You asked after calming down.

"Well we could just chill and talk to chat, but I would've thought you wanted to chill without.." Jack gestured to the monitors on his stream. "All that."

"How'd you know I wanted to do that?" You asked with a small smile.

Jack shrugged. "Well I kind of left you here in my flat and went to go stream for a while. That was a dick move."

"Well thats what I wanted at first but then you called me in here. I was trying to get all of my lives down, but then I realized how much fun I was having." You explained. For a second you forgot that he was still live until you saw flashing text across a screen out of the corner of your eye.

"It was selfish of me-"

"It wasnt selfish bub! I feel that was valid, but you could've told me." Jack said reassuringly grabbing your hand.

"It was fun though! I wouldn't have it any other way Manifold." You smiled at him and he smiled back.

"Me either."

Jack ended up ending his stream and both of you said your goodbyes to the people watching his stream. He closed everything off of his computer and leaned back in his chair immediately relaxing when the camera was turned off.

"Thanks for inviting me Manifold." You said as he got up to put the pillow back in it's place.

"Of course love." He pressed a kiss to your forehead as we walked away for a second.

"Hey! Why did you invite me anyways?" You asked.

He walked back over to where you were standing and pecked your lips and winked at you. "Free content darling."

You were cleaning up your station so you can get home and stream. You loved your day job as a tattoo artist but you also really enjoyed streaming. It started as a way to promote yourself as an artist and the shop you worked at but it eventually became a really fun way to destress at the end of the week (or day if you were really itching to stream). “Hey Y/N was that your last client?” your boss, KC, asked as she walked to the front of the shop and put new flash drawings on the walls.

“Yes ma’am!” You said back excitedly. You finished cleaning your station and tossed your black gloves in the trash. “And you can’t trick me into staying and taking walk-ins,” you joked with her. She rolled her eyes and walked back into her office “It was one time,” she said as you slid on your jacket. As you walked out your phone buzzed in your pocket and you checked to see who had texted you. It was a message from Sean asking if you were free to play Among Us with him and some other streamers. You replied that you were on your way home right now and totally down. You were excited to see who was playing this time around since their Among Us streams are super entertaining and have gotten really popular.

On your way back you tweeted and posted to your Instagram story that you’d be streaming soon and set up all your stuff once you made it home. After a few minutes, you had a couple of thousand people watching. You entered the discord chat and Sean spoke up. “Everyone this is Y/N she’s sensitive so be gentle.”

“It’s nice to finally meet you guys and I’m not gentle, I'm ruthless,” You say into your mic and notice the chat calling you a liar. Everyone was in the lobby waiting for the game to start. “You sound way too sweet to be ruthless,” Corpse said. The countdown started and you were imposter with Charlie.

“This should be fun,” you told the stream. Yout tried playing strategically but after such a long shift your brain was mush. You saw Poki in nav and killed her then vented into shields. Not long after the body was reported and you were sure you were going to get voted out or at least sussed.

“Where was the body?” Felix asked. “Nav and I didn’t see anyone near there so whoever is imposter must have vented,” Corpse responded. Felix spoke up again. “I think I saw Y/N walk that way and I haven’t seen her since.”

Shit, shit, shit shit. “I’m in shield right now so-” you said trying to defend yourself but Charlie spoke up. “I was doing tasks with her earlier and I saw her walk into shields so she’s safe but I’m still not sure about Rae.” Everyone discussed a bit more and some people, including Corpse, voted for you but Rae got the majority vote and was ejected. You released your breath and kept playing being extra careful.  

“Okay, guys that was super close. Corpse knows and is out to get me,” you said to the chat. You were eventually voted off but one round later victory was written across your screen with your ghost and Charlie’s avatar. “Good game guys,” Corpse said.

“I told you guys I was ruthless!”

You were listening to music and sketching some stuff but you were bored out of your mind and you didn’t want to leave in case you got a walk-in. The music got quiet as you received a twitter notification saying someone had messaged you. You reached for your phone and saw you had gotten a dm from Corpse.

C: hey :)

You didn’t know what to respond. You were mostly confused as to why he decided to message you out of the blue. Did he want something? But what would he want?

Y: Hii! This is sudden

C: was i bothering you?

    shit sorry!

Y: Youre fine I wasn’t doing anything rn

C: how has your day been

    i dont usually do stuff like this

Y: Im glad you did im doing better now I was so bored

C: what were you doing that was so terrible

Y: NOTHING! thats the problem :(

C: im sure youll find something to do

You stared at his message. Unsure what to respond.

Y: Im gonna give myself a tattoo

C: what?

    NO!

You tossed the needles you used for your tattoo into the sharps box. “Oh my god you didn’t,” KC said. She noticed the wrap on your calve from the tattoo you just gave yourself out of boredom. “It’s not my fault I didn’t have anything else to do!” You said trying to defend yourself. She sighed and just shook her head. “Just go home business is slow today.” It was raining so the shop probably wasn’t going to get a walk-in anyway and you didn’t have any more clients for the day. It was only 2 pm but you drove home and after making lunch for yourself decided to stream. You weren’t expecting too many people so it was bound to be super chill. Your leg felt sore reminding you of the tattoo. You snapped a quick pic of the fresh jack-o-lantern on the side of your calve and messaged it to Corpse.

C: thats  super cool actually

    i was concerned why you would just give yourself a tattoo but i found your instagram and       youre super talented

Y: Thank you!

For some reason, it felt strange to just have that be the end of your response.

Y: Im about to start streaming if you wanted to watch

What’s that supposed to mean?

You sat in your apartment watching tv, hand lost in a bag of Doritos, and scrolling through twitter. You had stopped paying attention to the anime playing on the screen since you’ve watched it a hundred times and knew you wouldn’t miss anything. It was Saturday and you usually take those days off. Take the time to do chores or meet up with some friends but today you felt like not doing any of those things. As you continue your endless scroll (not helping the twitter addiction you told yourself you’d try to get a handle on) you got a message from Corpse.

C: wanna talk?

You looked down at the message unsure of how to answer. It was a simple yes or no and the obvious answer was yes. You and Corpse had started talking more regularly. You still didn’t have each other’s phone numbers but it was fine. Your conversations weren’t too big-- just you sending him memes, tiktoks, and telling him how much you liked the songs he would drop. Or him complimenting a tattoo you did. Sometimes he’d message you during streams telling you funny stuff his fans would say in the chat and you’d do the same. You learned a bit about each other but nothing too deep or serious. Like how you two lived a few cities away and you both really liked Donnie Darko. When Sean first invited you to that game out of everyone else there you were most excited to meet Corpse. He’s just so sweet and funny. Of course, you’d love to talk to him but you were also itching to talk to him and the last thing you’d ever want to do was make him uncomfortable.

Y: Yeah id love to talk

Here goes nothing.

Y: Wanna facetime or something?

     No pressure or anything it could even be a regular call

     I think facetime is just my default lol

You sent those last two messages quickly after you had sent the first. You wished you could know what he was thinking. It was killing you to think you had turned him off from talking to you completely. You put your phone down on the couch and went to wash your hand of Dorito dust. When you got back from the kitchen you turned off the tv and tossed yourself onto the couch.

Still no message.

Why am I so fucking stupid?  

Just as you were standing up to stretch from sitting on the couch all day your phone buzzed. You reached for it fast and looked to see that it was him. You became super excited still not even knowing what the message said. It could have told you to never talk to him again for all you knew.

C: sure lets facetime

    xxx-xxx-xxxx

You had his phone number. You added him to your small but growing contact list and called. You sat on your couch waiting for a response when he finally picked up the screen was black. It didn’t upset you; you kind of expected it and didn’t care what he had to do to make himself more comfortable during this call.

“Hey,” he said. His voice was raspier than usual.

“Did you just wake up?” You asked and looked at the time. It was about a little past noon and you had only eaten Doritos all day. Shit, you should probably make a decent meal.

“Not that long ago but yeah,” he responded and giggled. That giggle.

“Well, I’ve eaten nothing but Doritos all day while rewatching Ouran High School Host Club, so you’re welcome to join me as I make myself something to eat.”

“Sounds like fun; what are we eating?”

“I don’t know yet,” You said as you stood up and made your way to the kitchen. You opened the pantry and looked. You noticed a can of diced tomatoes and reached for it then checked the expiration date. It was still good. On your counter were some onions and garlic. “How about some tomato soup?”

“Sounds delicious.” you smiled at Corpse and your phone screen not knowing if he was also looking at his screen or not. “You’re really pretty-- you know that?”

“Thanks, but you don’t have to--”

“I’ve already told you what an incredible artist you are so many times I bet you’re tired of hearing it, but you already know what a talented artist you are.”

“That is very kind of you Corpse,” you said to him bashfully as you chopped the onion and opened the can of tomatoes. “But once again you don’t have to reach so far to compliment me.”

“I’m not reaching you are talented and beautiful and--”

“I thought I was pretty.” You could hear him chuckle with a smile on his face. “You’re both,” he said. You could feel your face getting warm from blushing.

“Fuck you you’re making me blush. My face is all hot and stuff.”

He laughed at how flustered you got. “That’s the cutest thing ever.”

You didn’t know how to respond so you just put some olive oil in a pot and tossed in your onions. It became silent but it was a comfortable silence. You turned the stove on and watched the flame for a few seconds. “If it was dark we could pretend we were together and having a bonfire or something,” you said to the phone as you turned the camera to show him the flame (still not 100 percent sure if he was looking at you or not).

“I’ll put it on the list of things to do when you visit me someday.”

feel free to totally ignore this, but im just curious on your overall view of alllll of this. most people on my dash are either on one extreme end or the other. i dont think the situation is black and white but i also dont think dream is in the right. he's developed a track record of being very immature in response to things like this. i dont hate him though, and i dont agree with people calling for his platform to be taken away

I'm going to try to word this as carefully as I can.

I do have opinions. I always do. I believe that Dream was in the right at the beginning. The comment toward Ant was no one else's business, and he replied (as many creators have done and will continue to do) to a public qrt on his own Tweet. There's some merit to other perspectives, but I'm confident in my stance here.

This is obviously a lot more than that. The situation gets harder to follow from there. I've been juggling arguments - and stand a decent chance of discussing them more - but I don't personally have much to say about it. Because, frankly, it has very little to do with me.

I understand that as someone who's been known as a Dream blog some people expect me to answer for my support when situations like these arise. And I don't think that's wrong of you necessarily (not you you, I know you just wanted to know my thoughts and I appreciate that), but I also have to make it clear that I'm not a Dream "stan" and have never considered myself one. There have been times where I was a big fan and defender for sure, and at the end of the day I don't care what you call me, but I also have gotten a lot of hate from Dream stans for criticizing him when I felt it was apt.

Not to make it about myself too much, but I have a lot of things going on in my personal life that take up the bulk of my serious focus. The serious stream was the first stream I've watched in months and I only caught it bc I was curious. In a lot of ways my feelings on Dream haven’t changed. I'm not making a grand exit (already did that) and I think deplatforming arguments are silly because they're never going to amount to anything (not to mention the vast amount of people who factually cause much, much more harm that Dream, but I digress). I also still really like discussion and all of the opinions.

But if you're asking me for my real, deep-down feelings, I don't care. I don't know him personally. I don't give him money. Some of the people in this community who dislike him seem misguided as to what creators are like. Maybe it's because mcyt is soft around the edges, but he's no different from a lot of them for better or for worse. He's just some guy who got lucky and I'm just some person who wants to watch death shuffle on occasion. There's so much needless strawmanning. There's so much shit going on that doesn't involve people going at each other on Twitter.

I think if you hate Dream, if you just don't like him, if you believe he needs to have his platform "taken away" - then do your part. Block him. Don't watch things in which he appears. Stop giving him the attention that provides him his platform. If you love Dream, if you like him, if you just casually stop by his channel every once in a while, then do that.

I'm gonna keep doing what I want, what brings me joy and what I feel is right, and I hope everyone else does the same.
